"Every single person has to learn how to conquer fear and transmute it into power. If you don’t, you will be a victim to it your entire life.”

Fear isn’t the enemy—it’s the GPS. In business and in life, fear often signals the precise place you need to push through in order to grow. Whether it’s public speaking, investing, launching a business, or simply being seen, fear has a job: to protect you. But if left unchecked, it can become the loudest voice in the room. The key is to harness it, decode it, and use it as rocket fuel.

In this powerful session, you’ll hear about the mindset shifts that separate high performers from dabblers. From reframing failure and building belief systems to understanding how community and coaching catalyze change, the conversation is packed with strategies to help you choose courage over comfort—and success over stagnation.

Marc Von Musser is a renowned speaker and success strategist, known for helping entrepreneurs and leaders unlock peak performance through mindset, emotional intelligence, and tactical skill-building. His work has influenced business builders across the globe.

Speaker
So today I want to break down fear for you guys so that you can learn, understand first off, what is fear? It's there for a very good reason. But most importantly, once you can get your head around it, you're going to learn how to transmute it into power. On the other side of this, you're going to be able to be very, very powerful when it comes time for you to go ahead and do whatever it is you want to do.

00:00:29

Understanding and Conquering Fear

00:01:04
Speaker
And if we think about it, it's that fear aspect that sometimes we don't even want to acknowledge that's what's blocking us. Right up there with public speaking, being in front of a television, being there.
00:01:16
Speaker
There's one thing that I can tell you about being on TV or being and on stage or being it. You don't want to do it if you're not prepared, right? So why? what What would be the problem if I go out and broadcast to the world that I'm an idiot or that I don't know what I'm talking about or that I don't know how to enunciate, I don't know how to speak, I don't know how to command a stage or a television?
00:01:36
Speaker
It's fear of humiliation, fear of being exposed, fear of being not enough. Every single person. has to learn how to conquer fear and transmute it into power. If you don't, you will be a victim to it your entire life.

Examples of Overcoming Fear

00:01:50
Speaker
And one of the things that I started doing is I started looking at everybody from Tiger Woods to Magic Johnson to to Wayne Gretzky. I could go on and on, Michael Jordan, all these different people.
00:02:01
Speaker
They all had to conquer fear. So I want you guys to think about anything that you've done. Let's say we talk about skydiving, jumping out of a perfectly good airplane at 30,000 feet.
00:02:13
Speaker
Fear might be a might be an issue. If you ever watch some of the videos, you'll watch people clawing on with their hands or jumping off on a bungee cord, thousand foot bungee cord kind of deal.
00:02:24
Speaker
Fear, fear's in play. But some people can do it.

Fear in Everyday Activities

00:02:29
Speaker
Would we agree with that statement? Some people do it. Some people get a rush out of it. So what's different? Are they better than us?
00:02:36
Speaker
No. There's a lot of people even doing taxes. I know Michael's here. A lot of people fear taxes. Why? It makes them feel stupid. They're afraid of being exposed as stupid. Not enough.
00:02:48
Speaker
Diaz in the spa game. There's a lot of people who have a dream of doing a spa and they're going to find all the excuses. But the reality is they're petrified if they do it and it fails. That's too much fear of rejection and possibility.
00:03:01
Speaker
They're afraid to invest. Dia's not cheap. They're more focused on what could go wrong rather than their dream.

Transmuting Fear into Power

00:03:09
Speaker
So today I wanna break down fear for you guys so that you can learn, understand first off, what is fear?
00:03:17
Speaker
It's there for a very good reason. But most importantly, once you can get your head around it, you're gonna learn how to transmute it into power. On the other side of this,
00:03:28
Speaker
You're gonna be able to be very, very powerful when it comes time for you to go ahead and do whatever it is you wanna do. So right now, I want you to think about what would be a goal that would absolutely change your life.
00:03:41
Speaker
Write it down. Now, I want you to think about some of the things that, but you don't have to share this with anybody, but what are some of the fears in between that goal and your dream?
00:03:53
Speaker
where you are right now. My guess is that you've had that goal for quite a while. Has anyone else ever done it? Yes. Has anyone else ever learned what to do? Yes.
00:04:05
Speaker
Has anybody of your gender, color, age, education level will done it? Yes. So what's the difference? And it's learning how to transmute fear into power. Once you get around this, you're going to have everything that you want. Now it becomes a choice.
00:04:20
Speaker
Now you can decide. So if we're going to break this down, I've got about 23 minutes to break this down and give you guys some nuggets that you can actually go use.

Fear as a Survival Tool

00:04:31
Speaker
Don't just listen and go, that was really good. I want you to think about this because once you get your head around this, you can start rocking.
00:04:38
Speaker
The very first thing is we have to be clear on what fear is and why is it in our life. This goes all the way back time when we were throwing spears and we were running from and chasing animals, saber tooth tigers and some of the big things, the short faced bear.
00:04:53
Speaker
These things would eat you without a second thought. Fear is what kept us alive. Oh, crap, that doesn't look good. So we wouldn't go. And guess what happened? The people that ran in without a plan, those people didn't reproduce.
00:05:07
Speaker
So fear is there for a reason. Fear is very much like a red light gauge that pops up on your car. If your red light pops up or low gas alarm pops up, do you freak out?
00:05:20
Speaker
Probably not. It's simply a warning to you to say, hey, I need to go get gas. If it's a low oil light, you don't throw away the car. You don't get out of the car. You go put oil in it.
00:05:32
Speaker
They're warning signs. Fear is the same way. It is meant to keep you alive.

Building Strength from Fear

00:05:37
Speaker
Your subconscious mind entire job is to keep you alive. That's what runs your heartbeat.
00:05:44
Speaker
That's what runs all the involuntary muscles that allow you to move move food through your system. It's your subconscious mind that is in control. Fear is a domain of this as well.
00:05:55
Speaker
You can go back millions of years and you're gonna see fear is a big, big part. The problem is most people never figured out what to do with it, but it is there to protect you, to keep you from dying prematurely.
00:06:08
Speaker
So the other part too is the other thing that happens is that when you're here, it's a warning sign to be careful. Now, for example, if I don't know how to skydive, I have no idea how to pack a shoe.
00:06:20
Speaker
I have no idea what to do. Is fear a good thing when I'm standing at the edge of ah of of ah of the plane? If I have no idea what I'm doing, you think that's a good plan?
00:06:31
Speaker
Fear is what's going to keep you alive. How about this? Let's say you've never surfed your day in your life and you decide, hey, surfing is one of my goals. It's 25 feet.
00:06:42
Speaker
I'm going to paddle out to pipeline. Is that a good plant? Is fear something? If you've ever been in waves that big, fear, it'll scare the shit out of you. And what's worse, the water rushes back over the roof of the reef and the reef is maybe one to two feet below the water.
00:06:58
Speaker
Fear. But some people do it and they love it. They live for it. I know some of these guys, they're not better than us, but they have learned of what the fear is. And in the quarter to do it, you have to understand it And then you build skills around it.
00:07:13
Speaker
And now something that's fearful for everyone else becomes your strong suit.

Aligning Beliefs with Goals

00:07:17
Speaker
Here's what I can tell you about Michael. He didn't know shit about accounting. When he was in high school, middle school, he didn't understand about tax codes, tax liability, and about deferred everything.
00:07:28
Speaker
Who even the hell still knows what that is? Well, Michael does. There are a lot of times when he's coming up, seeing CPAs and things, he's like, wow, that's a big jump. I don't know if I can do that when he's in high school.
00:07:39
Speaker
We had no idea, but there was something that helped him go from high school student to CPA. From not investing, everybody knows that we should be investing in real estate.
00:07:50
Speaker
If you wanna create wealth, so why doesn't? Fear and ignorance. And if you don't understand these two things, you're gonna go ahead. And I know a lot of people who've spent tens of thousands of dollars going ahead and acquiring the skill of investing, but they haven't bought their first property.
00:08:09
Speaker
Now here, let's break down why that is. The first thing is they're not focusing on becoming a multimillionaire. In the moment of decision, they are more focused on what if I do it wrong?
00:08:19
Speaker
This is gonna go back to all of their fears about being exposed, their mother, their father, their best friend, somebody that said you can't do it. They're gonna go and look at all the people who tried and failed because they're focusing on risk and they're focusing on what could go wrong instead of focusing on the goal.

Choosing Courage over Fear

00:08:37
Speaker
I know a lot of investors. What separates them was going ahead and learning how to assess the fear, move into courage, and then get the training and the help that they needed.
00:08:48
Speaker
So fear is ah also something that is necessary because God doesn't just give you fear. He also gives you courage. When David needed courage, he didn't get courage. He got he got Goliath.
00:09:01
Speaker
You're going to get opportunities for you. And in that moment, you have to decide, am I going to let fear win or courage win? I know Chris is there teaching guys about being on stage and TV and and really packing a big punch with your presence.
00:09:16
Speaker
Public speaking and being in front of people is the second biggest fear beyond death. Think about that. Why? This goes all the way back to elementary school when people laughed at us, all the way back when people laughed at the way we dressed, our pants didn't fit in, our shoes were old, we didn't know what to say, we stammered, we stuttered, we didn't know how to articulate a message and somebody in every one of those places.
00:09:40
Speaker
So that residue still drives us when we're adults. Skill is also, I know a lot of people that have done a lot of different courses from Roger Love, Bo Eason, and they still haven't even done one speech.
00:09:51
Speaker
Because even though they've started to acquire a skill set, they're still afraid of the consequences. So I want you guys to think if you're going to do anything big, the first thing is you're going to have to decide, and this is part of it, is to choose.

Commitment to Goals

00:10:04
Speaker
You choose to focus on the fear and what could go wrong, or you choose on victory and what could go right. but you're gonna have to choose. If you do not intentionally choose, you automatically default to fear.
00:10:17
Speaker
So it's really, really important that you guys decide if you're gonna let courage come forth and you are absolutely focused and connected to that goal, you understand why, you now can move forward.
00:10:31
Speaker
It doesn't mean you can be a complete idiot. You still have to know your shit. That's a given. I told people this, writing a book is great. unless you're not ready. Going on stage is great, unless you're not ready.
00:10:44
Speaker
There's nothing worse than putting idiot in printed form and putting your name to it and telling everybody, oh, I wrote a book. And then they open it and then it's it's poor spelling. It's got terrible grammar. It says nothing.
00:10:55
Speaker
It's babble. If you're too stupid, no offense, but if you're too stupid to run it through spell check, you have no business writing is writing a book I mean, that is the low level standard and people skip that step completely.
00:11:07
Speaker
How do I know? Because I've got a bunch of those books from people. And it's the same thing. I watch people that will go ahead and they've got a great expertise in their skill set, but they get up on stage, they get on TV and you listen to them, they sound like babbling idiots.
00:11:19
Speaker
So you have to decide. Skill set is critically important, but you have to understand how to harness fear and you have to decide to choose. So one of the first things I want you to think about, if you want to master this, here's a recipe that can help you transmute your fear into courage and power.
00:11:36
Speaker
One of the first things you have to do is have understand why you're doing it and what is your goal. You have to connect to that goal. You need to write reasons and make it a must.
00:11:47
Speaker
So when you do that, you want to go ahead and you need to start focusing on your goal big time. You have to make it incredibly powerful. You have to have reasons why. Who else is going to benefit? How are you going to benefit? What's going to happen if you don't? You get a lot of leverage and you train yourself to focus on victory.
00:12:06
Speaker
Yes, I know there's 19 ways it doesn't work. I get that. That's a given. You got to find the one way. Here's what I can tell you about Dr. Dia. She's gonna come in with a plan, but guess what? That's not the only plan.
00:12:17
Speaker
Everyone she's talked to is, oh, I tried this coupons. I tried this. I tried this. I tried this. I listened to my friend and she does a hairstyle and we tried this. They've tried stuff and it didn't work. So Dia comes in with a plan that's proven she can help you, but in their mind, they're afraid, what if that doesn't work like the other 19 things I did?
00:12:36
Speaker
People that are victorious, they know that everything

Role of Coaching and Community

00:12:40
Speaker
doesn't work. And what works for other people, maybe not doesn't work for you, but they're still looking for that one way. That's why Michael Jordan was so hard to defend. That's why Wayne Gretzky was so hard to defend.
00:12:51
Speaker
They knew he had a tendency to go to his right. until he learned how to go to his left. The great ones will find a way to adapt. So this the first thing is you have to change your focus.
00:13:01
Speaker
The second thing you need to align your beliefs, and this really gets into believing why is your program important. This is where you start stacking your beliefs and you start looking as well about if they don't have you, are they gonna be okay or are they gonna be screwed?
00:13:16
Speaker
This is gonna give everything that comes out of your mouth, whether it's TV stages in person, it's gonna make you much more compelling when you are aligned in your belief system. Had this one guy, he had a skillset. He knew real estate sales really well. He knew his business. He knew all all the transactional and contractual obligations. You know what? He couldn't list because he wasn't congruent in his belief system.
00:13:38
Speaker
His belief system shut him down. He'd look at the client, he did everything right. He got in front of a client that needed to sell. He'd look at the client he'd say like this, I want you guys to all look up for a second. He'd go like this, Dia, Mag, look up you guys.
00:13:51
Speaker
He would go like this, he would go, um is there any reason you'd hesitate to give me your listing if you actually felt you could net an extra 10 to $30,000? Is there any reason you wouldn't do that?
00:14:04
Speaker
It's great language, it's great skillset, but what was wrong? Subconsciously, he was sending a signal to that audience to that person, would you list with me?
00:14:15
Speaker
He's screaming no with his body, his inner body. And when I was listening to on the phone, I said, you sound great, I can't figure out why it's not working. And when I met with him, I saw this and I go, there it is. Then I asked him, you have to go different. I said, when you think about making a statement like I can get you an extra 10 to 30,000, he goes, I don't know how to do it. I feel like a fraud.
00:14:34
Speaker
Right there's the problem. The belief system was not aligned with that. Took me five minutes to show him how I could net somebody 20 to 30,000. And he went on a tear and started listing everybody.
00:14:45
Speaker
One thing stopped him from making money and getting his dream. So I want you guys to get that, that when your beliefs are out of alignment, the third thing is you have to adjust is the meaning you are giving your situation.
00:14:57
Speaker
You have to change it. If you're a woman and you have a belief that, oh, well, it's harder for me. I can't do it because I'm a woman. You're already 90% defeated. You have to change that meaning that, holy shit, I'm a woman and I can multitask better than 10 men.
00:15:12
Speaker
And I actually, am they underestimate me. It's one of my greatest advantages. They have no idea how powerful I am. Both both thoughts could be present. I'm the discriminated against. They don't think me the same way.
00:15:25
Speaker
You know, men's as a business world or the fact that they're going to underestimate me and it's my superpower. You're right either way. Guess which one gets you outcomes? Both. But one makes you rich and one will keep you broke.
00:15:38
Speaker
So I want you guys to get that. And again, Dr. Dia has a doctorate. You know what I can tell you about academia? Most of them are broke. because they put their belief in the academia and thought that if I get the degree, now they might make six figures good for them. By the time taxes are done, they're not making the money they could because the degree is important, but it's not where the magic flows.
00:15:58
Speaker
So I want you guys to get that the first thing, once you change the meanings of this, every single block in front of you is a challenge from God. If I suck at finances, but I want to be rich, guess what? I have to work harder at it to understand and finances than Michael would.
00:16:14
Speaker
Now we have an advantage if we're going to talk about weightlifting or training. I have an advantage over Michael because I've done that for years. Neither is right or wrong. It's simply you have to decide what is it that you want. So once I get my beliefs in alignment, I change the meaning so that it's my destiny. I remember thinking that when I'm committed to my goal, God is my partner.
00:16:34
Speaker
That meaning I gave things. Every challenge that popped up in my world, do you know what it meant to me? God sees my goal. He knows I need some more muscle. He wouldn't have given me this challenge if I didn't have, if I wasn't committed to the goal.
00:16:47
Speaker
So all of a sudden things start to work.
00:16:53
Speaker
Now, when you get yourself in alignment, that's when it gets fun. Now we get to get in the ball game. Is there a sports team in the NFL, the major hockey league, NBA, major league baseball? Are there any of them that don't have a coach?
00:17:09
Speaker
I wonder why. If you're going to buy a sports team for $5 billion, $20 billion, dollars do you think they would rather cut their budget? Because coaches cost a lot of money.
00:17:21
Speaker
They're making $2 to $10 million dollars a year. Why would you buy a coach? And they have three to 10 coaches depending on what team and what sport. They have them because a coach can see things and get greatness out of people that you cannot do. I don't care.
00:17:34
Speaker
Michael Jordan is better than Phil Jackson in basketball. Much better. But he needed a Phil Jackson to go ahead and teach him what he couldn't see when he was in the game. He had to create a game plan that Michael Jordan couldn't see.
00:17:46
Speaker
Wayne Gretzky, one of the greatest hockey players, in my opinion, the greatest ever. He also had a coach. And those coaches could see things in him. Now, I want you to get, in addition to that, Wayne Gretzky. And again,

Influence of Community on Success

00:18:00
Speaker
when they had the l LA Kings, which was basically Edmonton light, they still lost to Theron Fleury in the Calgary Flames.
00:18:08
Speaker
Greatest hockey player of all time. How did he lose to Theron Fleury? Coaching. They got outcoached. Theron Fleury is not anywhere near the player that Wayne Gretzky is, but in that game, he was the best in the series.
00:18:19
Speaker
His coach got that team ready. His coach saw things in the Kings that they could exploit and win, and they did. You could look at the New England Patriots. You can look at every successful sports team. Coaching is the ultimate difference.
00:18:31
Speaker
I've watched teams that would have great talent And they didn't even make the playoffs. They bring in larry Larry Brown, who was a great coach, all of a sudden with no new players, and they made it to the NBA finals coaching.
00:18:44
Speaker
So the question for you guys, and this is something that's important, you could go ahead and figure out everything Chris just taught you. You don't need Chris. Here's the truth. You could go ahead and spend 10 to 30 years and figure it out on your own. Make an ass of yourself for a decade.
00:18:57
Speaker
Most people can't do that. They won't do that. The average human has three to 10 different failures before they quit completely. So all of a sudden, you're the best accountant in Calgary or in Ontario or in Toronto.
00:19:11
Speaker
And somebody that you helped, they go, oh my God, Michael, you're fantastic. I wanna get you on the TV. A friend of mine's the producer. We'd love to do a segment on you. And you get on TV and crash and burn. That happens all the time.
00:19:22
Speaker
So I want to bless you. Lock it up, Dia. Come on. I'm just teasing. Okay. So the first thing is coaching. ah Nicky had a client, some guy named Robin Sharma, the monk who sold his Ferrari. And he asked him, he said, if I want to double my income, what do you recommend I do? and he said, he gave a great answer to Nicky. He said, triple your investment in your mind.
00:19:45
Speaker
Now, again, this is going to come up into fear again. If you're afraid, what if I spend money and it doesn't work? You're in the fear zone. What if I do it and it works? You can only focus on one of those two options.
00:19:58
Speaker
So if I hire somebody, Nicky hired me a long time ago. It wasn't free. He had to figure a way to get the investment. He had to figure a way, but he was so focused on what he wanted.
00:20:09
Speaker
He found a way. So the first thing you have to do is coaching and you have to do it. And it is not a one-time deal. The person you are today is a fraction of who you're gonna be in a year. gonna have new problems in a year.
00:20:20
Speaker
Start making 100,000 a month, you got new problems. Guaranteed. Sometimes it's humility. So you start, things are rocking, you get cocky, and you get egotistical, and all of a sudden, God is gonna kick in the nuts like you can't believe.
00:20:32
Speaker
See it all the time. Happens to politicians, it happens to movie stars. They think they're above above certain laws. So the first thing is your coaching. The second thing is community. Who you hang around with.
00:20:44
Speaker
will determine a big to a large degree how high and how far and how fast you're gonna go. The community that you spend time with, who are you allowing into your ears? It's sad truth, but when you look at some of these teams, you'll see great players go to toxic teams surrounded by other people that are toxic and they implode.
00:21:04
Speaker
Great players. You see mediocre players go to a great team where they're surrounded by great people and they become all-stars and superstars. A lot of people forget. MVP, he was the Super Bowl MVP. He was the MVP of the NFL, Kurt Warner.
00:21:19
Speaker
Couldn't get a shot. He was committed. he overcame his fear and he still, the guy was amazing. What looked like a delay was not a delay. It was God giving him space to build the muscle he was gonna need for him to be a champion.
00:21:33
Speaker
So what happened to Kurt Warner? He didn't get drafted. He was at a shitty so college. It didn't work. It didn't work. He had to his parents, everyone around him was saying, give up on your dream, get a job. So he started st stocking shelves.
00:21:45
Speaker
He kept making calls. The guy wanted to be a pro quarterback. Nobody would give him a shot. He stayed connected to his dream. Stocking shelves at a supermarket. And then he got a call for the CFL or the Arena Football League. It was the Arena Football League.
00:21:59
Speaker
Nobody knows what the Arena Football League little things where they'd play. And all of a sudden he got there. And what he did was he learned how to pass really fast. It's a fast game, not the NFL, but he was connected to his dream. He was connected to being somebody.
00:22:14
Speaker
So he took the job. He took the job and he threw and he threw and he learned how to condition quick release, quick release to get that ball out super fast. Then all of a sudden, he goes on, he gets the luck of the draw.
00:22:27
Speaker
He gets hired by Mike Martz with the LA Rams who had done nothing. And he was behind, he was going to be a backup to a very famous, expensively paid quarterback. And he practiced and he practiced and he practiced.
00:22:41
Speaker
He had faith. He kept going. He was surrounded by a winning culture. Guess what happened to the star quarterback? Destiny intervened and and and Kurt Warner got a shot. And holy shit, they had never seen anybody that could throw as fast as he could, that could release the ball as fast, who could do timing routes better than than ah ken Dan Fouts with the Chargers.
00:23:03
Speaker
What looked like a failure, what looked like a delay was actually God giving him the time to develop the skill that he would need. And he ended up winning the Super Bowl and destroyed the and NFL.
00:23:15
Speaker
Coach needed. He was perfect to be in that community with the guys because he didn't take it for granted because he had remembered very much like Captain America, which a true story, by the way.
00:23:25
Speaker
And so Captain America, they picked the guy that had the biggest heart but was lacking the body. When he had that body, now he had both. And that was Kurt Warner. My hypothesis is that you have that within you too.
00:23:39
Speaker
But you have to be around people that can and can remind you of that. Here's what I can tell you. I don't care who you are. If you're the next Michael Jordan, if you're the next Donald Trump, if you're the next and Elon Musk, you're gonna doubt yourself.
00:23:52
Speaker
It's part of human nature. You need to have coaching and people around you that can remind you consistently, remind you of your greatness, remind you that, hey, You're special. You can do this.
00:24:04
Speaker
And if you're in the wrong community, all of a sudden you're going to start shifting your beliefs. I saw this, somebody that we know, Courtney knows and I know, they were they were going on the right trajectory and they joined a douchebag group called War Room.
00:24:18
Speaker
Right off the bat, you're kind of thinking, oh, wow, war room. It was a bunch of drunk alcoholic men who were basically like thinking, oh yeah, I don't even know what my business is. i just meant i' If I don't see a jet, I'm not gonna do it.
00:24:30
Speaker
You know, I got this. And he started hanging around with these people. And guess what happened to the community in his mindset? He started thinking just like they did. Right now he's got class action lawsuits. He's on his ass.
00:24:41
Speaker
Can't get people to walk through the door. He had had the business by the gonads. Now he's treading water for his life. All because he was not coachable and he started to surround himself with a bunch of ego pricks.
00:24:54
Speaker
Guess what happened? So you gotta decide. So the second part is community.

Harnessing Fear for Success

00:24:59
Speaker
If you think of SEAL team, if you think of some of the great teams in history, You can do more when you're surrounded by people that are also doing more.
00:25:07
Speaker
Before I went and trained in BUDS, I remember i remember doing a two-mile run, but I didn't have reference, and I thought I did a half marathon. True story. It was two and a half miles.
00:25:18
Speaker
And I remember thinking, oh, my God, I just did a half marathon. Oh, my God, um this is crazy. It was two miles. That's how out of touch I was with what I could do. When I got to Bud's, all of a sudden I was running half a marathon a day, every day on stress fractured legs, blisters, everything. And I still went.
00:25:35
Speaker
So when you get around a group that's going somewhere, you're not going to fall behind. You're going to be there. And pretty soon you're going to be at the front of the pack of the group going somewhere. So I want you guys to think about what Courtney's been doing, what Dr. Diaz has been doing. Here's the real truth.
00:25:48
Speaker
If they're trying to do it alone, on no offense, ladies, it's not going to happen anywhere near to the degree and the speed and the height that you can do with a group in your ear. Just like Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan had other coaches before Phil Jackson. They didn't win shit.
00:26:02
Speaker
They had to get the right people and the right coach. And when they did, they did magic. Doesn't make Michael Jordan any less important, but it required a coach and a community to help him thrive and to grow.
00:26:13
Speaker
So the third thing is you have to choose. Are you gonna choose courage? Are you gonna choose to go all in? This is something that you can see if you read the biographies of Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, every single one of them was went all in.
00:26:33
Speaker
After they f met with defeat over and over again, they got so pissed off, they put their foot down and said, never again. They were pissed. You know where Kobe Bryant was the day after they got eliminated from the NBA finals? The next day.
00:26:47
Speaker
Yeah, he was back in the gym. He was pissed. He goes, never again. And he went on a tear. And because he had that belief system, because he was aligned to becoming a champion, he became a champion.
00:27:00
Speaker
Michael Jordan, after he got cut by that basketball team in junior year, His coach said, I want you to come back. He showed up every single day for the next year early before school to go ahead and and build the character and build the skills needed for him to be a star and not just use his physical ability.
00:27:16
Speaker
Took him six years of getting his ass kicked by the Detroit Pistons, by the Boston Celtics until he was so pissed off, he said, never again. And what he thought was a big effort as ah is a rookie, as a second year player, third year player, it was good, but it wasn't all in.
00:27:32
Speaker
So ask yourself, If you're going to choose, if you want your goal that bad, what does all in mean for you? Does that mean you're going to test something when it's time to invest in something? Are you going to do it? Are you going to go, oh, that's a lot of money? Yeah, no shit. So is freedom.
00:27:47
Speaker
Freedom and wealth will pay you more than you could ever, ever imagine. but you have to choose. It's in the power of choice that we separate ourselves from the animals and we claim our sovereignty.
00:27:58
Speaker
A lion will always think and act like a lion. A sheep will always act and think like a sheep. Humans are the only ones that can decide whether they wanna be rich, successful, fat, skinny, in shape, out of shape, single, relationship, happy in the relationship.
00:28:14
Speaker
They can choose. Most people never claim that power. Oh, well, my family's always done this. Oh, I don't have money. That's a good one. Stay broke. Well, i I'm big boned. Okay, stay fat.
00:28:27
Speaker
Let's ignore the thousand people that were also quote unquote big boned and now they look amazing. We'll ignore the people that started out broke. Do you guys know that 80% of millionaires were not not given shit? 80% chose it.
00:28:40
Speaker
You know the number one reason why billionaires are billionaires? They chose it. They got sick of being broke. Don't believe me? Read their read their biographies. When you go all in only and then only are you doing it. When you make your decisions, please write this down.
00:28:55
Speaker
When you make your decisions based on your goal, period, that's when you have a shot. Success is not built around convenience. It is not built around when you can afford it.
00:29:06
Speaker
It's not built when you have the time. Your goal comes first. And if you don't put it first, you've automatically lost already. So I want you guys to grab that. So now if you have the courage to act and decide and go all in, that also requires investment.
00:29:21
Speaker
It amazes me. People are like, oh, I got to have my self-care. How much self-care do you need? It requires a lot more self-care when you're broke and you can't pay your bills and you're and you're not thriving.
00:29:33
Speaker
Self-care is great. but so's your goal. And I watch people and I'm not saying in this group, but I've watched a lot of people where they hide behind that. Well, every time I start working hard, I get sick.
00:29:45
Speaker
Yeah, that'll that's a good one. So I want you guys to get that if you're gonna go all in, you have to decide, you find a way. For the committed, please write this down, but for the committed, there's always a way. And for the dabblers, there's always an excuse.
00:29:59
Speaker
Doesn't matter. It's amazing to me. Most people that buy real estate, if you're smart, you aren't using your own investment. You know how to leverage, but you need the skill and you need a coach. you need somebody to guide you.
00:30:11
Speaker
A friend of mine, he's bought 13 flip 1300 plus business ah properties. He's never lost money on one of them. Not one. Recently, I spoke with him. He just bought nine homes up in Pennsylvania, nine homes for a whopping $16,000 total.
00:30:27
Speaker
What? Three bedroom, two bath across the board. Each one valued at at anywhere from a hundred to $150,000. Can't be done. It can, if you know what you're doing, you're not afraid.
00:30:39
Speaker
So I want you to think about now, go back to your goal and we'll wrap up. How bad do you want it? You're not going to do it alone. You're not going to do it dabbling. You're not going to go, you don't have time to figure it out over your lifetime.
00:30:52
Speaker
You make the investments where you need to. You make the investments and you find a way. You get resourceful, you do whatever, but only committed people will be resourceful. Only committed people find a way.
00:31:03
Speaker
no no no no no no no no No, no, no, no, no. There it is. And now people will call you lucky. Luck has nothing to do with it. So as we go on, guys, if you want to harness the power of fear and turn it into a superpower, on the other side ah of fear is courage.
00:31:20
Speaker
On the other side of this is on the other side of your comfort zone. That's where you're going to find your your greatness and your dream. There isn't anything you're lacking right now, whether it's money or time that you can't find and find a way to make it work.
00:31:33
Speaker
So as you guys go into this, start by honoring in the past when you've overcome fear and you made a decision to get it done. You've already been all in in certain things. and My challenge to you is that you get all in on your dream now. And if the goal is impotent, you're going to have impotent effort as well.
00:31:49
Speaker
So you're going to have to commit. Get clear. Even in the process, I know Courtney is a good example of this. The mind is a very tricky thing. She's doing, let's say, 80,000 a month. The thought of doing 160,000, overwhelm.
00:32:01
Speaker
overwhelmed I don't have time for that. It's already taken all my time just to do 80,000 a month. When am I gonna serve people? And what that is the creeping doubt in your mind where you need a coach and you need ah somebody else to remind you and go, hey, Courtney, notice I didn't say you you're gonna have to work twice as hard. You can go ahead and double your income and actually work 50% less.
00:32:21
Speaker
You won't do that if you're all by yourself. And then all of a sudden they give you brief references. They give you strategies. They can help get in your mind. They can reframe that one debilitating thought and you're right back in the game.
00:32:33
Speaker
That's why it's important. But don't make the mistake. Don't go alone. One of the biggest things is hubris that stops people like we talked about. People think, oh, I got it. I'm doing really good right now.
00:32:44
Speaker
And you are until, but you forget how you got there real good. One of the biggest things we saw in the previous company, we'd help people go from broke to 100,000 plus a month and they think they they got it all figured out.
00:32:56
Speaker
They bounce, decide they're going to do it themselves to save the money. And next thing you know, they're broke again because life didn't stop coming. So honor yourself for being in this group. There's a lot of people in Toronto. There's a handful in that room.
00:33:09
Speaker
Start by honoring that version of you. Extra props for the Americans going into a third world country. That's some scary shit. You know what I mean? So I love that you guys are up there. You guys luckily, you know, help them with their language.
00:33:22
Speaker
I know. Michael knows. He knows it's some scary shit. So I want you guys to get, start by honoring the fact that you guys are paying a price very few people will, but you still got to go all in. And that's the decision you're going to want to make today, tomorrow, and the rest of this quarter and the rest of this year.
00:33:37
Speaker
If you do, you will find solutions to every challenge in front of you, especially if you lean on your coach and your community. You'll still have to do the work, but when you do, you're going to rock.
