Christian Yordanov
Hey there, it's Christian Yordanoff. Thanks for tuning back into the podcast. I know it's been a while since I put out an episode. That's because I've been working hard on my next book, which really was the my only main focus for the past, I guess, four, five, six months or so.
00:00:23
Christian Yordanov
And it's almost ready. Working with the editor now to polish it up, get all the you know the bits and pieces around the publishing process. done so I finally have a little bit of time to start cranking content out again and I'm really looking forward to it because over the last few months as I'm writing and researching some pieces of the book on various topics I'm getting I'm constantly getting ideas oh man this would be a great podcast episode or a great YouTube video or whatever but I just have I just decided I'll wait until it's all done and then resume the content because you just you have to stay focused with this kind of project if you want to get it done before you lose the will to live and yeah so here we are I thought with this episode I'm going to talk about why
00:01:13
Christian Yordanov
Fasting is basically the ultimate psyop, why I think that is the case. And then on the other podcast, the Live Longer Formula podcast, which used to be called How to Actually Live Longer. On that podcast, I'll be doing more just straight up health related content in the next month. A lot of it will will start with just fasting, various aspects of fasting, but then I have a lot more stuff in the pipeline.
00:01:37
Christian Yordanov
um and But here on the Connecting Minds podcast, I have the liberty of being a little bit, let's say, unhinged and ah just kind of share some of my, I suppose, tinfoil hat sort of theories and whatever else. So what's interesting is since ah around...
00:01:59
Christian Yordanov
the start of June I've also been editing Charlie Robinson's book, ah his upcoming book on depopulation. It will be called The Octopus of Population Control and it's a monster book, it's like 110,000 words plus.
00:02:17
Christian Yordanov
It's a monster book and I've been helping him edit it. We've just about finished that process. so Really, doing that concurrently while writing my book has really, i suppose, given me an even deeper sort of glimpse and so insight into a lot of the stuff, let's just say, going on in the world in terms of Big Pharma, in terms of all the foundations and the phil philanthropists, or as Charlie likes to call them, the full-on rapists. and um how how they've been using sort of the facade of health and helping starving people in India and and and Africa and whatever else. And then helping like with Planned Parenthood, helping people just do better family planning and whatever else. And it's all really just a a thin sort of veneer of
00:03:08
Christian Yordanov
under which is eugenics like as you as you may know and when you read Charlie's book you will know that you know the the eugenics society rebranded itself into Planned Parenthood it's the same people Bill Gates' dad was like head of Planned Parenthood for a while that it just goes super deep so a lot of I've done a lot of research about these topics over the let's say last eight maybe more years and maybe nine ten years even and um now when I look at health stuff I'm always trying to see is there could this be a psyop could this be yet another psyop because the thing about it is this is why and i'm I'm gonna get to why fasting is probably the ultimate the best sort of psyop but a lot of things
00:03:55
Christian Yordanov
They don't have to come from your government, your the health authorities or whatever for them to be like be a The best psyop is something that looks like it's a grassroots movement. the best psyop it's like the yeah Charlie also talks about the stuff in his book.
00:04:11
Christian Yordanov
You know these George Soros, the Open Foundation sponsored color revolutions. They look like they're these sort of organic uprisings the people are like oh no we're sick of this dictator we want we want to revolt we want to rebel and then it it's just yet another sort of thing that was started you though in order to sort of put in a regime, you know a cabinet of people that are puppets of the you know the string pullers as it were. So the best psyop is the psyop that everybody believes, that nobody questions, that has a lot of different aspects in terms of appealing to different types of people.
00:04:56
Christian Yordanov
right um So in the introduction of my upcoming book The Fasting Delusion, I'll probably read some bits and pieces here from it just to give you a little bit of a teaser, a taster. So I have this sort of passage where... let me find it here. so
00:05:15
Christian Yordanov
it's it's so good right It's so good, the fasting sort of delusion that nobody, almost nobody, unless you really love food, right ah nobody's kind of impervious to to being manipulated by the fasting sort of narrative that is laid out in front of us. right So let me find it here. Damn, we're...
00:05:40
Christian Yordanov
i I will admit i haven't done content like this in a while so I'm not I just kind of I set up my I'm kind of tweaking my setup here so that ah i will be able to record the audiobook so I just ordered a really nice mic and some good cables and gonna get some software so kind of tweaking my setup here a little bit today so I don't even know if this setup is perfect the way I set it up today but I said it let's I'm not going to do any test recordings. Let's just blast something out to people. And if you're still here, you know thank you for being here.
00:06:13
Christian Yordanov
If you're still subscribed to the podcast, really appreciate you. But yeah, so the way um the the way it's like portrayed is that fasting, there's it's a multi-pronged argument, right?
00:06:27
Christian Yordanov
you could be a complete atheist, materialist, big bang theory believer, right that believes in evolution, you know that a a fish jumped out of the water and you know copulated with a hamster and you know that their sort of offspring turned into a monkey and here we are now pretending to go to the moon and whatever.
00:06:52
Christian Yordanov
right So no no matter who you are, No matter what persuasion you have, as George W. Bush so eloquently said to the terrorists back in the day, we're going to get you.
00:07:07
Christian Yordanov
right So you could be this materialist big banger who believes in evolution. Well, we're going to get you because we're just going to tell you, oh, you know, when you were, you know, ah a mo mongoloid ape, Neanderthal hybrid creature, whatever the hell you were, you know, glorified monkey. When you were that, you had to fast a lot because you had to find food. You didn't have agriculture.
00:07:30
Christian Yordanov
Because you're too too dumb to do it. And then, you know, luckily we evolved and we are here and now. So you you're going to get those people by just using fantastical evolutionary theories that have really no no proof, no real no real evidence behind them, right? There is some kind of evidence but the not the way it's like i personally i don't believe any of that stuff that we're being sort of told in the mainstream about our history and i I've spoken to guys kind of in in the truth community that are They understand we're being lied to about about a bunch of history. As as recently as like the world war the second world war, the eighteen hundred you know people talk about Tartaria, you see all these ah amazing architecture around the world that clearly like people had advanced technology we don't know about today that's likely been hidden or lost or or a combination of both. So we have this super advanced technology.
00:08:32
Christian Yordanov
And then if you go back further in history, you look at you know Machu Picchu and the pyramids and all these other pyramids around the world, not just in Egypt, and sort of these cities being dug up in in in Africa,
00:08:45
Christian Yordanov
in in um in ah the you in North America, right? These freaking cities, these underground sort of tunnel networks. So clearly for a long time, and these pyramids could be way older than we we are told, like 4,000, 6,000, whatever years.
00:09:01
Christian Yordanov
So clearly people a long time ago had some advanced technology. Now if they can build pyramids You've got to be pretty sort of naive to think that if they could build pyramids thousands of years ago, that food wasn't ticked off. The whole getting food and having food and being satiated and stuff. They they must have had a ah good handle on that. right
00:09:32
Christian Yordanov
So for at least thousands and thousands and thousands of maybe 10 to 12 to 12 000 years at least because that's know when allegedly we started having agriculture as humans so for at least 10-12 000 years we really didn't have the same scarcity as you know people in the savannah paleolithic people cave people hunter gatherers Now there hunter gatherers still around the world and over the last few hundred years there's been hunter gatherers that we have interacted with, we've seen how they live.
00:10:06
Christian Yordanov
um So you know there is evidence that you know we were hunter gatherers. I'm not saying we were not hunter gatherers. But here is the thing. right So what?
00:10:17
Christian Yordanov
So what if we were hunter-gatherers and we had to fast? What does that prove? What does that prove? Does it prove they lived longer than us? Does it prove they were healthier than us?
00:10:29
Christian Yordanov
Like I was just for the research of the book, i was um talking a little bit about the San people in southern Africa, also known as the Bushmen. And also the Koi Koi, which are less well known than the sand, the Bushmen, they basically, i think it was around the 17th century, they started domesticating cattle. So they had a access to milk and obviously meat and all the other parts of the cow.
00:10:56
Christian Yordanov
So those people back in South Africa when we were in school, we were taught that those people, the Koi Koi, were much taller and and stronger than Bushmen.
00:11:08
Christian Yordanov
And obviously for obvious reasons, you have milk and lots of protein and a constant supply of food you don't have to expend a bunch of energy to to gather food and all that good stuff right and I'll be honest with you now this take this with a grain of salt but I looked I went on DuckDuckGo and I was like San people pictures and Koi Koi pictures and honestly honestly, they don't look too healthy.
00:11:38
Christian Yordanov
Like the the the younger people, their kids, they don't look super healthy. So just because, even if it's true that for hundreds of thousands of years we were hunter-gatherers and we had to fast here and there, sometimes for a long period of time,
00:11:54
Christian Yordanov
So freaking wato what Were they healthier? Did they live longer? We were at the same time told that those people lived on an average to 30 years of age. right Okay, childhood mortality was huge, dying of starvation was huge, getting eaten by whatever wild beasts that was ah ah sort of a big factor, falling out of trees was a big sort of cause of death. but even if people survived those things they say they would live to like 50 60 and then the occasional sort of outlier might live to 70. so what does evolution what does the savannah the paleolithic sort of uh narrative what does that really what how how is that actually
00:12:42
Christian Yordanov
proving that just because those people fasted that they were actually healthier if we're told they lived an average to 30 years. And today, in today's world, ah you we all know people who are in their 70s and even 80s that have lived on a diet of, you know,
00:13:00
Christian Yordanov
trash food, drinking alcohol, smoking cigarettes while getting exposed to toxic chemicals. But yet we still have people in their 70s,
00:13:12
Christian Yordanov
I'm not saying they're super healthy or anything. I'm not saying we should emulate that or anything. But we can like in today's world, we can easily, easily get to 75 on a diet of McDonald's, beer and cigarettes.
00:13:25
Christian Yordanov
You know? black getting blasted with EMFs all day long and LED lights. So how does... We used to fast through all through evolution, how does that actually how is that an argument for fasting? when Even you if you look at the Hadza people in Tanzania, I mean like they they lived to like 50, 60, maybe 70, some of them, but they're they're not living...
00:13:51
Christian Yordanov
French ladies that ate every day, ate chocolate, drank wine, ah lots of sugar, smoked cigarettes all their life. We have these women into their 100, 110 plus...
00:14:03
Christian Yordanov
hundred ten plus
00:14:07
Christian Yordanov
and yet the hunter-gatherers who again they don't look all that healthy to me a lot of from the pictures I saw of course small sample size you know I'm sure they're healthier than a lot of westerners at that age of course because they live in a cleaner environment and there's a lot of new challenges with their territories they they sort of quote unquote are allowed to live in and whatever else. Of course there's challenges and they have more they're probably eating doing more of the Western sort of modern stuff, diet and whatever else. But if they're not if if they weren't living longer than we are today and they fasted
00:14:45
Christian Yordanov
how again, um know I'm repeating myself but it's like it's so these some of these arguments are so sort of silly that you have to like multiple times kind of explain it to some people for them to start grasping it because like it's not through any fault of their own of course, it's because this is what religious belief does to people, like a lot of people believe this in a religious way but it's like it's like um almost in a sense indoctrination. We've been indoctrinated over the last while, socially engineered to think that our ancestors fasted therefore
00:15:27
Christian Yordanov
we will be we will be healthier if we fast, that's like the ah appeal to nature fallacy. There's a lot of things that are natural that are still harmful and think about what does a cave what's like a cave person's main or a hunter-gatherer, what's their main activity that they do all day long? They think about food, finding food, storing food, killing food, cooking food,
00:15:52
Christian Yordanov
and and you know trying trying not to die of starvation. right so so why are we trying to emulate some of the worst parts of being alive, let's say 20,000 years ago?
00:16:10
Christian Yordanov
If you know indeed history is what what we live in the savannah and we're rock bashing cave people. Why are we trying to emulate the hardships of those people?
00:16:25
Christian Yordanov
when they When even the the his the sort of the narrative we're told is that they didn't even live you know past 50, 60 if they got lucky, maybe 70 if they got super lucky.
00:16:36
Christian Yordanov
Why would we do that? It's dumb. So if you're a big bang, theory, believing, materialist, evolution, lover,
00:16:48
Christian Yordanov
We're going to get you. But ah by the same token, you might believe none of that stuff. And you could be a devout Christian Muslim who diligently practices Lent or Ramadan.
00:17:01
Christian Yordanov
We're still going to get you. Right? We're going to get you. Because Jesus fasted for 40 days and 40 nights. Right?
00:17:10
Christian Yordanov
So we're going to get you no matter where you fall on that spectrum, materialist or religious. You could also be a health nut biohacker who is lengthening his telomeres, down-regulating her mTOR or up-regulating her kajiggers. Oh, we're going to get you good.
00:17:29
Christian Yordanov
We're going to get you good. You could have a chronic disease, have tried everything and are willing to do anything it takes to get back to decent health. We're going get you.
00:17:41
Christian Yordanov
Fasting will cure what ails you, the universal panacea. Just stop eating and your body magically decides to start healing and repairing. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Your body, let's say over three days, you fast for three, five days. Over a few days, your body is getting signals you're ah you may starve to death.
00:18:02
Christian Yordanov
And all magically, through the power of autophagy,
00:18:10
Christian Yordanov
Through the power of autophagy, suddenly and magically your body decides to heal and regenerate and age backwards, but even though you just you're getting you for days you've been getting signals that you you might die starvation.
00:18:27
Christian Yordanov
So that kind of doesn't make sense, does it? Also you could be overweight and looking for solutions. You may have tried all the different diets, all the different ways to do it. And it looks like fasting could be the thing.
00:18:40
Christian Yordanov
So we're going to get you. You could be motivated and have the willpower of a Spartan we're gonna get you, it's not for the faint of heart, the fasting, or you might be lazy and looking for shortcuts, even though it's not for everybody and you need it's quite a lot of suffering, especially going through a proper fast.
00:19:03
Christian Yordanov
Some people who are lazy enough and looking for shortcuts enough they They may say, okay, well, it's better than dieting and you know losing the weight over whatever, six months, 12 months, two years, whatever the case is. So you could be super into health and just trying to optimize and ah you know increase your autophagy.
00:19:28
Christian Yordanov
Or you just want to lose weight or you you mean may maybe you're mega motivated do all those things or reverse a chronic health problem or you just want the shortcut. No matter where you lie on the spectrum, young or old, wealthy or broke, we gon' get you, buddy.
00:19:44
Christian Yordanov
We gon' get you good. Okay? So that's that's why the PSYOP is so good because... we we we we hit everybody and currently almost everybody believes that fasting is going to help them live longer. But here's the thing, there is absolutely no scientific evidence of that in humans and there is no historical evidence in in humans that fasting makes anybody live longer. There's zero, zero evidence
00:20:24
Christian Yordanov
We have animal data like with rodents, mice and rats but if you if you read the book when it's out you'll see that I have a sort of whole chapter at the end because it's a bit of a dry topic so I left it for the end. So when if people give up by then I don't blame you because I'm sure that the rest of the book should dismantle the entire narrative if if you're open-minded of course. if if you have your blinders on it won't do much but that's the case with any material but i'm sure a lot of people out there who have tried fasting maybe it worked for a while and then it started to catch creep up on them catch up with them they might actually kind of see through the scam that it is right but this is the beautiful part of a psyop that hits everybody because like
00:21:15
Christian Yordanov
you You can't, i I, at the moment on the spot, I can't think of a better psyop. Like maybe the moon landing at the time was an amazing psyop.
00:21:27
Christian Yordanov
And most people believed it because, you know, television was new and like the with Stanley Kubrick doing all the the production of the stuff. and There was like, I'd say, you know, maybe 99% of people, but but they were so like, wow, this whole thing is just TV and the president's there talking to the to the ah astronauts.
00:21:49
Christian Yordanov
Meanwhile, I can't even, you know, they're talking like in real time. Meanwhile, I can't even get a good signal when I'm on the crapper and my mom calls me and I got to, look, I'll call you in five minutes. here not the right place in the house. We can't get good signal now, but they were having pristine signal with no delay and all that stuff, right? But even even so, it was so impressive, the whole sort of show, the soul whole song and dance, that most people ah were bamboozled, especially when you know when you're younger and you see all these new technologies. It's difficult to question things. So with fasting, it's the same. And here, I'll tell you this.
00:22:26
Christian Yordanov
the most important sort of part of ah ah why it's such a good PSYOP is, and this this will sound sort of counterintuitive but the reason it's such a good psyop is because people actually do feel better with fasting. A lot of people do, at least in the mid short to midterm. So that's kind of the elephant in the room and I definitely, I knew that if I don't address that, I mean I'm i'm really opening myself up to a lot of sort of low hanging fruit in terms of criticism. Are you if fasting so bad and why do i feel better, dumbass? You know, this kind of stuff, right? High cortisol driven due to starvation, sort of belligerency.
00:23:12
Christian Yordanov
i've I've gotten the occasional email and comment on social media from folks that fast and that is just ah really sort of... illustrates what being in a high cortisol state how sort of rude that that can make one especially when you're not in person and over the internet you just let your emotions your high cortisol state just dictate you calling somebody you know an idiot or whatever um that's beside the point anyway But so, okay, so why why is something making you feel better
00:23:55
Christian Yordanov
amplifying the...
00:24:00
Christian Yordanov
the danger of the style because it's like, think about it. If you take a drug, let's say I have simple example, you have a headache and then you take ibuprofen, Advil.
00:24:11
Christian Yordanov
Well, your headache will go away in the next couple of hours and that's great in terms of like giving you symptomatic relief, don't get me wrong. But there was a reason you had the headache.
00:24:23
Christian Yordanov
ah so It wasn't an ibuprofen deficiency. So what can that do? Well, I know people that my mom included, for example, you know, like for a very long time, she'll take painkillers for her headaches.
00:24:37
Christian Yordanov
ah Even though there was there was a reason in physiologically in the body, there was some kind of biochemical stuff going on that was causing the headaches. So if you if you take something that makes you feel better,
00:24:52
Christian Yordanov
but it's not actually addressing underlying dysfunction causing the things that make you feel worse. Well you were basically using the allopathic approach here and that's what a lot of people seem to be doing with the fasting.
00:25:05
Christian Yordanov
right And again nothing wrong with getting relief, don't get me wrong, but The problem is that whatever um underlying dysfunction is causing the symptoms, it's allowed to fester.
00:25:18
Christian Yordanov
So if you don't address the actual underlying dysfunction, well, you're just kind of kicking the can down the road and the stuff will catch up with you. And so to address, and I'll probably do a, I need to do a whole episode on this, probably on the other podcast, because it'll be cleaner, no tinfoil hattery there, or very little of it, relatively speaking.
00:25:42
Christian Yordanov
the reason people feel better with fasting. There's actually like maybe three or four reasons for the most, about five reasons that I kind of have a whole chapter on why do people feel better with fasting? The elephant in the room, you got to address it. So if you look at, let's say, let's just take the USA for example, because lot of listeners and readers would be in the USA. So US is whatever, 330 million, give take. So 300 million those, given that,
00:26:05
Christian Yordanov
so three hundred million of those given that
00:26:14
Christian Yordanov
About two-thirds are overweight or obese. About I think a hundred million or so have either pre-diabetes metabolic syndrome and or diabetes. right, so a third. So a third of people...
00:26:29
Christian Yordanov
ah and probably more than a third but it's like half i'd say half of adults have some kind of condition something is not right with them and that of course overlaps a lot with the the two thirds like 65 adults
00:26:45
Christian Yordanov
70% of people that are overweight slash obese. So we're talking the USA a good 100 million, maybe 150 million people that have a just an unbelievably horrific diet. As in, if you saw them eat it, you still wouldn't believe it. That's how unbelievably horrible. Just look at all the fast food. Look at Uber Eats. Look at DoorDash. Look at this.
00:27:12
Christian Yordanov
Go, if you haven't in a while, log in and just see what's on offer or like look look online at what's on offer in these sort of takeout places. And if you've been in a grocery store anytime the last couple of the years, you you would have seen like the schlop, the absolute schlop being sold.
00:27:37
Christian Yordanov
And a lot of it is way cheaper than than than good, clean organic food, especially certified organic food. So what are most most people, when I say most people, the majority of people, they're eating absolute, Glorified toxic schlop, poison, garbage, trash.
00:27:52
Christian Yordanov
And even that's being generous, right? So what would happen if you're reading a bunch of this poison with all the different chemicals, all the different garbage, emulsifiers and pesticide residues and glyphosate and trash trash, trash, trash, trash. Well, what would happen if let's say for three days, you stopped eating all the poison, stopped poisoning your body? but You might feel like your deity descended from the heavens and showered you with love and autophagy.
00:28:25
Christian Yordanov
good old autophagy. um Yes, i'm I'm sorry if it's annoying but every time I say auto autophagy I'm going to do that. It's my Rodecaster, it's called sound effects. I have to use that.
00:28:35
Christian Yordanov
Autophagy, the magic of autophagy. So anyway, ah so yeah, so those people, like here's the thing, those people that are doing that, they take a break from the poison, the the the garbage, the McDonald's, whatever, well, there they will feel better.
00:28:51
Christian Yordanov
It's not magic. The fasting isn't the magic, it's the stopping the poison. okay Then you have, and I will elaborate a lot more on this, in the like I said, in in on the other podcast soon with a dedicated episode on this topic, but then you have another group of people that are eating clean relatively clean to very clean it could be up all the way up to like pasture raised all that good stuff you know getting from your neighbors your farmers growing your own food so you have a like and then you also have like kind of clean ah ah compared to like the majority of the population there's people that kind of clean
00:29:30
Christian Yordanov
but it's still not very clean, you know, but um you have the sort of spectrum there and the thing about that is even if your diet is kind of clean to very clean, there's still foods in the diet that can be more or less inflammatory based on what they are, especially like plant foods tend to be quite a lot of them and can be just more irritating to the gut and so on.
00:29:55
Christian Yordanov
and then you also can develop food sensitivities to these foods over time especially if your gut is a little bit perturbed um but that's a whole separate category of people so those people that have one two three four five more sort of moderate to to high food sensitivities to staple foods well if you go on a fast
00:30:22
Christian Yordanov
and you remove let's say wheat and maybe milk is reactive for you maybe even like eggs is fairly common, relatively common or some kind of vegetables or some like multiple components of the diet that are inflammatory for you. If you just remove everything and you reduce all that inflammation that ah has been occurring on a daily basis or like quite often because they're staple items well that's going to give you a relief as well right.
00:30:48
Christian Yordanov
So then you have the people that have the gut and the autoimmune issues, right? And a lot of those are exacerbated by certain foods they eat.
00:30:59
Christian Yordanov
excuse me And this is where we have a little bit of overlap. So you could be eating clean, but for various reasons, stress, antibiotics, other drugs. I mean there's so many factors that can hurt the gut and perturb perturb its function which that then dysregulates the immune system. So you could be you could have a gut and autoimmune issue whether you're healthy in terms of food, if in terms of diet or whether your diet is not so clean.
00:31:27
Christian Yordanov
You could also be sort of in this, if it's like an overlapping set of groups, you could also be that group where you have Either a clean diet or a bad, diet terrible diet and also gut and autoimmune. So you were in that if you're in that anywhere in that sort of circle of people, that sort of spectrum, if you go on a fast, you're going to then obviously feel better, right?
00:31:50
Christian Yordanov
So that's another category of people. And then there is also the other category where it's mostly heavily plant-based because like myself, 10 plus years ago, we're indoctrinated into believing have to stuff all manner of vegetables and seeds and nuts and and and lots and lots of healthy veggies, you know spinach, Popeye, the Sailor Man, each of five a day, all that nonsense. And so a lot of those people, I've noticed vegans, very heavily plant-based people, when they fast,
00:32:20
Christian Yordanov
They're like, oh my god, I feel amazing. It's like, yeah, dude, yeah. It's because you stopped eating a bunch of like super irritating stuff that's indigestible. And all this fiber that you're eating could be feeding bacteria that produce what is known as endotoxin. That endotoxin then could be causing inflammatory responses in the gut. And that can make your joints hurt. It can give you sort of brain fog, can lower your energy.
00:32:47
Christian Yordanov
a bunch of other things like endotoxin can cause all sorts of stuff, right? that and that That inflammation drives a lot of pathological processes in the body. So if you stop or take a break from the plants or even if you just compress your eating window, so you're doing that stuff less of the day.
00:33:03
Christian Yordanov
So even if you're eating kind of bad, and you compress it into like eight hours, at least that's like maybe six hours less or four hours less of inflammatory stuff going on.
00:33:14
Christian Yordanov
Or in the case of someone with a gut issue, you're giving your gut a little bit more of a rest from the inflammatory and triggering things. And then the plant-based heaters, they also, whether it's a longer fast, you remove everything or you compress that window. Yeah, again, that kind of gives you a little bit more, several hours more of reprieve every day. And so that's why a lot of people feel better with fasting. The other the other thing is if if you go on um if you start fasting of any sort, it's kind of extremely unlikely that that's all you're going to do.
00:33:50
Christian Yordanov
Right? No human does things in isolation. If you're fasting, it's very likely that you want to get healthier or you want to lose weight or you want to reverse a chronic health condition. So what else are you going to do? Well, you learned fasting from somebody. it Maybe it was a friend. Maybe it was podcaster, YouTuber, health guru, influencer, author, whatever. So they're not just going to tell you about fasting. going to tell you about, you know,
00:34:15
Christian Yordanov
organic food and supplements and you're going to do them with sleep routine, breathing exercise. So people don't just, most people are not just fasting. They're improving their diet for ah for at least for a large subset of those people. So they start improving the diet.
00:34:29
Christian Yordanov
And that is where the money is at. All the others, here's the thing. This is the thing to underscore. The money is at all the other ancillary healthy behaviors that people do.
00:34:44
Christian Yordanov
that's when they start fasting so you start intermittent fasting maybe you start losing a little bit a bit of weight over like a month and like oh this is working I feel better I look better my partner likes you know how I'm ah taking better care of myself so then you just like ah you know what I'm gonna skip the beer today I'm gonna skip the the whatever the macaroni and cheese I'm gonna have something better maybe a salad and not not that i that I think salads are the answer to health or whatever but that's what people kind of start thinking is I'm gonna eat better ohh and I heard ah the stuff about organic and I
00:35:21
Christian Yordanov
You have to remember a lot of people that get into fasting today are just beginners, beginners. A lot of these things that you might know about, they're not on their radar yet. They're therere sponges ready to soak up information.
00:35:34
Christian Yordanov
So they'll learn about this, they'll learn about that. They'll start maybe taking some vitamins, some minerals, some other stuff. they They walk more, exercise more. So a lot of these healthy behaviors, they start to compound. So that can actually outweigh even even the stress of fasting, especially if a person is a little bit younger.
00:35:55
Christian Yordanov
right If you're 40 under, or even 45 and under, yeah you can still, you can definitely, you can fast, especially intermittent fasting, you can still outweigh the deleterious effects of that with a lot of other healthy behaviors.
00:36:10
Christian Yordanov
right So that's another reason people feel amazing with fasting is because they're not just doing fasting. who like who If you ever like hear somebody tell you they started intermittent fasting and amazing things happened, just ask them, what else did you do?
00:36:32
Christian Yordanov
Ask them. and they will i bet you they'll proudly start elaborating on all the other things they started doing and now we stopped eating gluten and and we stopped doing takeouts we cook more at home i bring my food to work and that's amazing that they do that i'm not like that that's amazing that we should encourage that but i just don't want us to fall into the delusion that was the fasting that was the game changer because it wasn't fasting was just adding a stress on the body And with many people, what happens is, which is another reason why people feel better is when you intermittent fast, especially, or when you do prolonged fast, you are losing weight because when especially with intermittent fasting, it becomes difficult for many people to...
00:37:20
Christian Yordanov
crowbar in three full meals and a couple of snacks and a couple of soldiers or whatever in an eight hour window it's just not possible you you feel stuffed and you're like yeah i gotta eat less so you don't you don't even you don't even think you gotta eat less you spend they call it sort of spontaneous reduction in food intake right That's what happens.
00:37:42
Christian Yordanov
And that's what happens in the studies, in a lot of these studies, people that intermittent fast without being told to count calories and whatever else, they lose weight. And then when they start quantifying it with calories, they they see or like based on metabolic rate, a bunch of other stuff, they see that people spontaneously lower their caloric intake. So that's the magic of fasting, really. Intermittent fasting is it makes you eat less and then when you eat less, you start gradually losing weight and there's a lot of benefits when somebody starts shedding, especially if they have a lot of excess weight. When they start losing weight, there's a ton of benefits there. Like you sleep better, you breathe better, um it's easier to exercise, your inflammation goes down.
00:38:28
Christian Yordanov
i mean, there's so many benefits, right?
00:38:33
Christian Yordanov
But it wasn't the fasting that's the magical component here. So the PSYOP, and I believe it's PSYOP, I'll tell you why in a second. But the PSYOP is that it's the fasting doing the benefits.
00:38:46
Christian Yordanov
It's not the fasting. The reason people get benefits from fasting is, again, all the healthy behaviors that they engage in that are ancillary to it, because we never do one thing in isolation.
00:38:59
Christian Yordanov
The weight they lose, whether through prolonged bouts or intermittent fasting over a few months, the weight they lose has benefits. Right? and But the fasting didn't cause it, it was eating less food.
00:39:12
Christian Yordanov
Okay? And then the folks that are... very reactive to various foods, whether it's because their gut is perturbed, they have food sensitivities, they're just eating bad food.
00:39:25
Christian Yordanov
They're getting more breaks, whether intermittently or for like a week at a time or whatever, they're getting more breaks from those foods so they feel better. That's why I've heard people that say, you know, I feel so good when I fast.
00:39:39
Christian Yordanov
Then when you see what kind of what diet they have and whatever else, you're like, yeah, you you know what? If I ate that way and then I didn't eat that way for three days, of course, i' would feel better too.
00:39:53
Christian Yordanov
So that's great that people are finding ways to feel better but there's so many inherent risks with fasting that take months and years to sort of to manifest to the point where they become visible sort of symptoms and and and sometimes ah for you can go on for decades without evidence of degeneration occurring. Like think about osteoporosis.
00:40:17
Christian Yordanov
How many women right now in in in America, ah for example, have osteoporosis and they don't even know it? Or osteopenia, which is like a you know less severe version.
00:40:29
Christian Yordanov
Tens of millions. Tens of millions. of women. They're degenerating, their bones are degenerating and by the time they found find out it it will often be too late to do much or anything about it because it could be 60, 65, 68, 70 and they might just suffer a fracture and then they'll get a bone scan in the hospital and then they realize oh I have osteoporosis, congratulations you became another statistic. But that didn't happen over the last year or two.
00:41:01
Christian Yordanov
It happened insidiously. And that's what the the problem with fasting is you truly, what we've what we've been sighed up to think is you just burn fat, you make ketones, and and and and then, of course, you you break down disease tissue and repair and reju rejuvenate through the power, the magic of autophagy.
00:41:27
Christian Yordanov
Did you know? I should have a segment in the podcast. Did you know, fun fact of the day, did you know that autophagy, I geez i'm gonna i think the year was, okay, that autophagy was first observed by a couple of guys, it's in it's in the book now, i'm not going to go to that section of the book, but autophagy was first observed, guess where?
00:41:53
Christian Yordanov
In the Rockefeller Institute. Interesting, interesting for my tinfoil hat brethren and sisters, autophagy was first observed in the Rockefeller Center.
00:42:13
Christian Yordanov
oh Nothing nefarious going on there, right? So we're told that fasting you just burn ketones, ah ah sorry you you burn fat unwanted fat, what what's not to love?
00:42:27
Christian Yordanov
You make ketones, the super healing apparently, and you autophagy rejuvenates you. That's what we're told. right But what we're not told is that during the entirety of your fast, because you you never, ever, ever, ever stop producing glucose, right? Even if you're in in deep ketosis, 15 days into a fast, doesn't matter.
00:42:54
Christian Yordanov
you would never ah You might be making ketones to take a bit of but the burden of making the glucose sort of process, but you never stop making glucose. And when you're not eating... What can be turned to glucose?
00:43:07
Christian Yordanov
Multiple things but one of those things is your the protein on your body and you have a lot of protein in the body, in the muscles but not just the muscles, your skin, the collagen protein in your skin.
00:43:20
Christian Yordanov
There's a ton of that there, you have it in your joints and of course you have it in your bones and What does that mean? Well, when you're fasting, there's no no glucose or or carbohydrate or protein coming in.
00:43:34
Christian Yordanov
You become the source of the substrate. Your body becomes the source for the substrate for the glucose. What does that mean? It means cortisol and other hormones signal to your tissues to degenerate, die,
00:43:51
Christian Yordanov
and two you know some of them will be used for other purposes but you know a bunch of them will go to the liver so that it can make glucose through the process of gluconeogenesis.
00:44:04
Christian Yordanov
That's what happens throughout the entirety of a fast. The deeper you go, of course at at a certain point ketones will pick up some of the slack but the deeper you go the more you degenerate.
00:44:16
Christian Yordanov
the more you degenerate. And autophagy, there was dude, geez, I'm going to butcher his name. it's Again, it's in the book, but there's so much information that it's not all the top of my head. but There's a Japanese dude, researcher, Yoshinori Osumi, I think it was,
00:44:33
Christian Yordanov
So he won the 2016 Nobel Prize in ah Physiology or Medicine for discovering some um mechanisms around autophagy. right So that was 2016.
00:44:49
Christian Yordanov
I got into intermittent fasting in 2018. When I got into it, it was already huge. And it's only gotten huge, huge, huger in the last 10 years or so. But anyway, so it seems like he won the Nobel Prize and then It seems like the algorithms, social media and whatever, and and search engines, they basically were sort of programmed to shove down our throat the idea that autophagy is cellular rejuvenation, clearing out the cellular junk. That's what most people think.
00:45:21
Christian Yordanov
That's what most people think and if you go on YouTube, there is some video, like if you type in autophagy, there is like, start scrolling, you will find some people that are kind of con talking about contrary points, contrarians or whatever, but most of it is just drivel, parroted, the same, oh cellular rejuvenation and then you break down disease tissue. So it's not true it's not true have a whole section in the longevity chapter ah in the book on why what we've been told in the mainstream about autophagy is an absolute lie it's an absolute
00:46:01
Christian Yordanov
fantastical caricature of what actually happens when you fast. right So what happens when you fast is you upregulate, there's different types of autophagy and when you fast you actually upregulate what is known as bulk ah autophagy, it's indiscriminate and i have quotes from experts in the field in the book that talk about this right so actually autophagy is always running in your cells it's like all the other processes that you have no control over many of them we don't even know about they keep you alive keep you healthy you know that stuff it's just a process that's constantly going on it's called the basal sort of autophagy And then yes it can be upregulated and that's what happens when you fast and other things upregulated autophagy like exercise and various other even nutritional compounds can do that like I think polyphenols can do that, certain carbohydrates can do that. But anyway when you fast you upregulate indiscriminate bulk autophagy.
00:47:11
Christian Yordanov
What does that mean? it You don't have to be sort of a genius to figure out that indiscriminate means that healthy parts of the cell also get broken down and reused and repurposed. in order to ensure that cell's survival.
00:47:30
Christian Yordanov
But even so, that survival is not guaranteed because if too much autophagy happens, the cell will die. And I have quotes about that in the book as well.
00:47:42
Christian Yordanov
um In fact, another thing is that certain cancers, they use autophagy to protect themselves from the immune system. and to survive so for some people that ah fasting especially with cancer it may actually backfire horrifically and we're told fasting for cancer gonna starve the cancer how you're gonna starve the cancer if you don't ever stop producing glucose when and until you're dead like you only stop producing
00:48:17
Christian Yordanov
glucose when you die. So if you fast, the the difference is that the source of glucose for the cancer becomes your own body, so you degenerate yourself, you become the the the the sort of the fuel source. But it's not as if Cancers can only run on glucose that's yet yet another sort of dumbed down narrative being spread by by pretty ignorant people.
00:48:42
Christian Yordanov
Cancers can run on fatty acids, they can run on amino acids, they some can even run on ketones. and there's ah I have some quotes around that in the book as well in the cancer section. um so yeah that's that's pretty crazy right so the the autophagy that all the algorithms and all the stuff that they're telling us about that's being upregulated when we fast it's just a yet another degenerative process designed to ensure at least try to ensure the self survival until the next nutrient source becomes available so when you when you upregulate autophagy
00:49:23
Christian Yordanov
you are breaking down perfectly healthy parts of yourself and that that is that is not a good thing. Now, of course, disease tissue, stuff like that, it will it will also, it's like indiscriminate means like disease stuff will get broken down.
00:49:43
Christian Yordanov
But again, it's it's like you have, let's say, it's like you have um let's say
00:49:54
Christian Yordanov
stain on your wall and you take a sledgehammer to your wall and just break break down that part of the wall to get rid of the stain well a lot of a lot of good stuff a lot of good structure in your home got sacrificed for you to get rid of that stain there's no need to do that because the body knows what to do the problem the problem when it comes to autophagy is just like any other process in the body it needs a ton of nutrients like i have ah a section on this in the book it needs a ton of nutrients
00:50:27
Christian Yordanov
from vitamins and minerals and other compounds that have to be synthesized using them and of course you need energy and and to to make energy you need like a dozen different nutrients plus minerals vitamins and then of course you need um certain amino acids and that's a it excuse me it's um it's a resource intensive process to to do just even regular good old autophagy so there is some talk that if if autophagy is not working well it can cause you know it's it's associated with disease least in animals and more more more in humans more recently but the thing is if you just feed your body well and actually nourish your body and don't put obstacles
00:51:13
Christian Yordanov
in your way, like degenerative stressful practices like fasting and focus more on adding the nutrients your body is very likely missing because we know what people eat nowadays. it's it's It's preposterously bad.
00:51:27
Christian Yordanov
we Like most people are not even hitting the laughably low
00:51:34
Christian Yordanov
RDAs for vitamins and minerals. They're not even hitting the ah RDAs. And some of these things are just like ridiculously low and people still can't hit them. And there was one one sort of study where they even looked at people and combined all their so supplement intake And even with the supplement intake and the food intake, there were still there was a ton of stuff that they were not even meeting the ah RDAs, and the EARs, and the AIs, you know the adequate intake.
00:52:02
Christian Yordanov
So the the question is, if you have a malnourished person, which again, the majority of people in the Western world right now, they are malnourished. They're undernourished.
00:52:14
Christian Yordanov
and you have a person like that and taking food out of the equation completely or intermittently would that help them is that the answer to to health and longevity it only is the answer to health and longevity if a psyop is designed to look like it's a grassroots movement it's like like that it's going against big pharma and that ah it will make you live longer even though even though there's absolutely no evidence of that historically or scientifically.
00:52:46
Christian Yordanov
And of course, big pharma, this is when people are like, oh, but you big pharma don't want this to, like big pharma would love it if you wreck your health with fasting. they don't care if it happens in two years five years 20 years they don't care because sooner or later you keep trying to quote unquote starve yourself to better health sooner or later you're gonna end up in their lap and they will be there with open arms ready to do stuff to you weird stuff
00:53:17
Christian Yordanov
So they don't care. like Like, in case you didn't know, I'm sure you did. Like, I just kind of, I'm pretending like, yeah I know you know, but like, let's pretend some normal person out there. In case they didn't know,
00:53:34
Christian Yordanov
Big Pharma's business is a booming. they Their business is crushing. okay They're doing great. So let let's pretend there's like a 5% segment of the population. They're like, ah Big Pharma, you suck. I'm not doing that.
00:53:52
Christian Yordanov
They're more than happy to let that 5% or whatever it is just kind of try like do okay, yeah, do some whatever. do do do your fasting, do some other stuff.
00:54:03
Christian Yordanov
They're happy with the rest of the population that they have in their sort of business model of hell. The merry-go-round of hell of drugs, poisoning, surgery, etc. etc Now,
00:54:18
Christian Yordanov
the other people sooner or later if they if they get if they if there's enough sort of psyops put into the health sphere through ostensibly grassroot movements carnivore veganism pick your poison you know fasting if there's enough of these that can be sprinkled in so people can pick and choose so they think they have ah said they think they're acting via their own volition they are exercising choice and and freedom and freedom to do whatever they want and they're curating their own health sort of routine.
00:54:55
Christian Yordanov
If enough of those things in that health routine were actually psyops, It cumulatively over a given period of time, could be 10, 20, 30 years, it will still wreck those those people's health eventually. Just as an example, it's the Omega 3 the omega three scam ah Who takes Omega 3s?
00:55:17
Christian Yordanov
Well, it's going to be the more health conscious people. And I'm not saying like health Omega 3s are going to kill you today or tomorrow or anything. but Omega-3s basically make you more susceptible to oxidative stress.
00:55:32
Christian Yordanov
it's It's really kind of the... the And it's a perfect... It's another perfect psyop because they do have this inflammation-lowering effect via suppressing the immune system. Not ideal. That's not the ideal way to suppress... To lower inflammation. It's merely, you know...
00:55:49
Christian Yordanov
just suppressing the immune system because cortisol does that. The corticosteroids, the steroids people get for eczema and iron all the other rheumatoid arthritis, all those conditions. That's how cortisol works also by lowering and suppressing the immune system or the derivative chemicals of cortisol. right so omega-3s and and then yeah they might be taking nitric oxide boosters that's yet another insidious way to do it they might be doing again fasting or there's so many other kind of things that when you delve deeper into it like oh okay this this and yet another scam peptides some of the peptides are really bad for you read like really like the growth hormone secretogogs like epa morale and all the stuff that stuff is just
00:56:33
Christian Yordanov
terrible terrible idea to be raising growth hormone I have a section about that in the book as well because fasting also raises growth hormone whoop-dee-doo so what like telling me fasting raises cortisol what am I supposed to like jump for joy it's terrible idea to to raise your growth hormone anyway um so that's kind of that's kind of how i see like big pharma they understand that especially after you know 2020 scam vid and whatever else big pharma knows that there's a lot of
00:57:08
Christian Yordanov
that's how do I say, ah skeptical skeptical people about their ah product range so they're more than happy to wait for those people to screw themselves through haphazardly trying random stuff the internet throws at them, the algorithms because remember like we're humans we have the FOMO, we have the sort of the peer pressure it's like if everybody's doing something You're kind of like, oh, maybe I should try that. I'm like the the last guy in my on my block to not do fasting or keto. I got to try it. So we like we are we do get influenced by influencers. And a lot of these influencers, they're just...
00:57:52
Christian Yordanov
a lot of them, they're not like nefarious, don't I'm not like that paranoid, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying all the... They're just riding the hype train, what's popular, I'm gonna make content about something that's popular. like i To be honest with you, would I write a book about the the contrarian sort of view of fasting if it wasn't popular? Well, probably not because like you want to talk about stuff that's current so they're like oh you know new study finds autophagy blah blah blah uh new study finds keto this so a lot of the the influencers they're just kind of i don't want to say mindlessly but a lot of it is mindless because back in the day i was doing the same things i was making the same mistakes you're like oh what's what's um ah a common condition right now oh you know ibs let me write uh or write an article
00:58:44
Christian Yordanov
or do a video or do content about IBS or SIBO, that's kind of a more recent thing. SIBO, small intestine and bacterial overgrowth. So all this study finds this probiotic is helpful for SIBO. So it's because it's a popular topic, people are searching for it, people will just scramble to... to to It's, yeah I'll tell you, making content it's hard and people are scrambling to be like the first about a new study or to to just barrage the internet with their content on a topic because it's it's a constant battle for attention.
00:59:23
Christian Yordanov
So a lot of people, they're they're almost like automatically, oh this you know, peptide peptides, I got to do stuff about peptides. I got to interview somebody about peptides on my podcast or my show. So just a constant thing. And it becomes almost like this wildfire of spew that just turns into, because like the top of the food chain health influencers will...
00:59:44
Christian Yordanov
but What what to do kind of the middle of the chain ah sort of the hierarchy guys and gals do? Well, the they basically emulate what they're what the the top of the food chain talks about. The other people start talking about that so they seem relevant, so they seem knowledgeable, so so they seem up to date. And then, you know, we, well, as kind of as health consumers or or kind of health seekers, we kind of then get that information and it just becomes this sort of self-fulfilling prophecy. So if you seed at the top, could be PubMed, right? You could... seed and I'm not saying this is like super intentional it's just the algorithms can take the good parts of of something like fasting, autophagy, blah blah they can amplify that even though a lot of those studies they're finding negative effects with fasting as I've detailed in my book.
01:00:40
Christian Yordanov
ah the the those negative it's Basically it's spun, it's called spin bias the information is spun the data is spun in a way where via rhetoric people are only sort of given their drip fed the good parts and nobody's talking about loss of lean mass wrecking your hormones your testicles shrinking your metabolism lowering with fasting the inflammation that increases in some people the oxidative stress that increases in other people there's just so many so many things um the fact that
01:01:15
Christian Yordanov
ah When you're 80 plus, some of your biggest challenges will then be malnutrition, undernutrition, sarcopenia, loss of muscle mass, loss of strength, um ah bone loss, osteopenia, osteoporosis. And all of those things when you're 80 will be your biggest some of your biggest challenges. It's a very, very high probability. And all of those things are worsened by fasting.
01:01:39
Christian Yordanov
So we're like, oh, yeah, fasting, longevity, blah, blah, blah. yeah but if you can't do this amazing longevity practice when you're 70 80 90 how is it a longevity practice does it make any sense so the psyop is spun in such a way where people are not this will make me live longer but then if i ask a person so i'm kind of droning on here but if i ask like a like a fasting um believer if i asked him okay so what about okay like what about is your grandma or your mom look my grandma's like 85. would you would you have your grandma fast?
01:02:17
Christian Yordanov
ah no i wouldn't let her fast. um okay why? why wouldn't you let your grandma fast if this is such an amazing longevity treatment?
01:02:28
Christian Yordanov
Is she too weak? Yeah she's probably a little bit too weak and maybe um it won't do her good, she's already not eating a lot and maybe she has quite little muscle mass lap muscle mass left so it's like How is it a longevity thing if you do okay with it when you're younger and the older you get the less, the more dangerous it becomes, the more harmful it becomes? How is that a longevity thing? A longevity thing
01:03:02
Christian Yordanov
It's something you can do for life, right? Because it's good for your longevity. Like let's just so sort of extremely simple example. Walking, taking nice walks in the sun, hopefully in nature. Is that a longevity thing? Well, can a 105-year-old person do that? Yeah, they can do that.
01:03:24
Christian Yordanov
They're not going to do it fast, but nobody said you have to do it fast. Just walk leisurely, listen to the birds sing, smell the roses. Whatever. Take your dog out. That's a longevity thing.
01:03:36
Christian Yordanov
Because you can do it until the day you die. If you have an 85 year old woman or or or man and you put them on a 5 day fast, they could die.
01:03:49
Christian Yordanov
They could die. How is that a longevity thing? How is fasting a longevity thing if old people, older people, if if if it becomes dangerous for them? like This is what I'm talking about. people haven't like Most of us, and i I was so guilty of this in the past as well, we just...

oh my god i learned about peptides i have to go research research podcasts influencers and then you're like okay i can do my own content about this and people haven't people don't stop nowadays it's such a busy sort of the the content creation cycle and all the other stuff right it's people are so busy that most of us haven't actually and i had this opportunity because I'm six months working on this book, you know so most people haven't stopped and just sat down and be like, okay, what ah fasting, okay, what are the pros? Okay, there's pros, pros everybody will tell you about the pros.
01:04:47
Christian Yordanov
What are the cons? Does anybody talk about the cons? Okay, what are the cons? Here are the cons. Now, let's think deeper. Why these pros of fasting, are they genuinely because of the fasting or is there something else that could cause them?
01:05:07
Christian Yordanov
Can we get those benefits in other ways without starving the body? There's like a bunch of stuff, right? And then and then think about it next. Okay, let's say intermittent fasting or fasting twice a year for a week or or every quarter for five, six, seven days.
01:05:21
Christian Yordanov
Okay. okay can you do that when you're 30 no problem can you do that when you're 40 uh some people can't when you're 50 60 can you do that for 30 years can you do intermittent fasting uh 8 16 every single day for 30 40 years Well, at this is at at a certain point, you're like, well, I can't do this.
01:05:46
Christian Yordanov
I won't be able to do this for a very long time. I won't be able to do this when I'm older. So it seems like very few people are actually gone through the all of these bits and pieces and be like, okay, you know, actually, this doesn't make sense to degenerate my body for, you know, a few hours extra a day or for a week in order to get benefits I can get in other ways by cleaning up my diet, losing some weight.
01:06:10
Christian Yordanov
maybe cutting my calories a little bit and getting that weight weight loss gradually without the mega down regulation of my metabolism. Nobody really seems to be having to have thought about these things, right?
01:06:24
Christian Yordanov
So that's kind of like why it's every... I think almost all of us got bamboozled, at least at the start. I definitely got... was fasting back in 2018, you know. There's so many...
01:06:35
Christian Yordanov
it's there's so many angles through which they will get you you know like the the the jesus fasted thing you know yeah okay jesus fasted are you jesus you know can you can you you know perform miracles can you feed you know 500 people with two fish and three loaves of bread or whatever it was.
01:07:02
Christian Yordanov
Can you do that? Can you can you carry a a massive wooden cross up a hill without collapsing? Are you 30 years old? Jesus was 30 years old when he fasted 40 Can you come back from the dead?
01:07:18
Christian Yordanov
Can you come back from the dead? No! Jesus could. So maybe let's not let's not conflate what Jesus did with what we should do, because he did it in a much more pristine environment as well. There's implications there I'll discuss on the other podcast.
01:07:36
Christian Yordanov
And then the dude came back from the dead. And I don't think you can. I'm sorry. i apologize in advance if I am assuming your mortality. Please feel free to send me an angry email if I was mistakenly assumed your mortality. But um I guess I'm a little bit old school like that. I'm kind of assuming you can't come back from the dead. But, you know, feel free to prove me wrong.
01:07:59
Christian Yordanov
ah So, yeah, Jesus fasted. the Fasting is in all the religions, but why? Is it? For what purpose? Was it... Did anywhere in the Bible that it said that it's to make you healthier and that you live longer upregulate your autophagy?
01:08:22
Christian Yordanov
I mean, the last time I checked, the The purpose of fasting is for like spiritual purification, self-discipline, seeking God's guidance or intervention, for spiritual discipline and humility, for preparation for certain events, revelation, for repentance and atonement for sin.
01:08:48
Christian Yordanov
you know? Where in the Bible is it written that God said, and ye shall fast for seven days to upregulate your autophagy and give thy gut a reset?
01:09:04
Christian Yordanov
Nowhere. so So what if fasting is an older religion? And you know some people are like, yeah, but it it it helps me connect to source.
01:09:16
Christian Yordanov
so the even the So the religious people, we can get them with the fasting is in the in the holy text. But also the spiritual people, they'll be like, oh, I feel more connected to source.
01:09:27
Christian Yordanov
And so it doesn't matter. Are you a biohacker? do You want to lose weight? Are you religious? Are you like, a oh, we we we fast we fasted because of evolution and stuff and the savannah and hunter-gatherers.
01:09:40
Christian Yordanov
Or if you're a spiritual person, we're going to get you. doesn't matter who you are, where you are, where what combination of those things, because you can be a combination of multiple things and have multiple beliefs. you know The thing about, this is probably going to trigger some people, try to tiptoe around it a little bit in the book, but you know the reason the reason fasting, especially prolonged fasting brings you closer to God is,
01:10:09
Christian Yordanov
It's because you're slowly dying. It's because you're slowly freaking dying. Of course, you're going contemplate life, death. What is it all about? and you know the The stress hormones and the endorphins, they they will, ah for for many people, they will sort of give you a quote-unquote a buzz.
01:10:30
Christian Yordanov
I mean, some people, that like those stress hormones and endorphins can cause psychosis. you know So some people may ah feel that in like a sort of you you might like feel this gratitude for the fact that God gave you this life in human form to experience this beautiful worth and you might feel all this gratitude.
01:10:50
Christian Yordanov
and laugh and cry and sort of past emotions, repressed trauma, ah you know, might come up and be processed. So there's there's like good things can happen. I'm not saying only bad things happen when you fast, but you also can achieve a lot of those things through other methods like you can do family uh internal family systems you can do therapy hypnosis meditation i'm not saying only bad things happen but you have to really the way i see it is you have to sort of see it from the other perspective because the delusion is that only good things happen when you fast that is a delusion
01:11:34
Christian Yordanov
A lot of bad things happen when you fast, you know mostly physically you know mostly physically of course but that's that's the thing, you are degenerating your body in order to survive the fast.
01:11:50
Christian Yordanov
you know Just merely to survive. so that's kind of it i kind of have to wrap up here because it's this was going to be short but as you know brevity is not my strong point so there'll be a lot more content around this some of these some of these things i kind of glossed over you can really like the autophagy wait
01:12:11
Christian Yordanov
Autophagy! um So the autophagy thing, that's definitely going to be ah its own episode. Why do people feel better when they fast? That has to definitely be at at least an hour conversation, discussion. the So the just to kind of wrap up, the three major topics I will cover in the book will be why fasting is a terrible, quote-unquote, health and longevity strategy, why fasting is a terrible weight loss strategy,
01:12:37
Christian Yordanov
and why fasting is a terrible strategy to address chronic health problems, chronic disease, from gut conditions to autoimmunity to diabetes to cancer and a few other in between we'll be discussing. So that's kind of the three themes.
01:12:54
Christian Yordanov
And each of these, like I said, the book is like 400 pages or something. I don't even remember now. But each of these kind of little things, one statement that I say like for example you know ah ketones can also feed cancer or like ah you can't starve cancer of sugar because you you have to die to do that and then that's not really very productive so each of you these kind of little things a lot of them at least can be their own chapter in the book, they can be their own sort of podcast or or series of of podcasts. so I'm just kind of giving you more the tinfoil hat why it's such a great style because everybody, almost everybody can can be
01:13:40
Christian Yordanov
bamboozled no matter again are they materialist or they're spiritual are they religious are they um you know a biohacker do they need to lose weight are they super motivated have a lot of willpower or are they lazy for for looking for shortcuts there's so many different ah sort of archetypes of people that we can manipulate into basically deciding to starve themselves to better health to degenerate their body away in the name of better health and longevity. That's kind of what I wanted to cover today, hope I did that without too much rambling. It has been a while since i'm doing these since I've done this kind of more solo stuff,
01:14:25
Christian Yordanov
I do talk to a lot of people during the week anyway, like clients and group calls and stuff like that So it's I'm not like completely secluded from the world while writing this book, but the the sort of the the solo format, it does take a little bit of time to get back into it. So I hope i didn't bore you to tears.
01:14:45
Christian Yordanov
And yeah, if you're still here after a couple of months break from the podcast, thank you again for so much for being here. You are one of the the greats in my eyes. Appreciate your support. And I will talk to you on the next episode.
