Arc Rules and Podcast Introduction

00:00:00
Speaker
If your character dies, as in fully dies, you are out till the beginning of arc two.
00:00:35
Speaker
Hello everyone and welcome to this week's episode of the Fellowship of the Tabletop. We are a live play 5e D&D podcast set in the magical home-brewed world of Aerith. Hello, my name is Mark, I am the Dungeon Master and also with us for this week's episode of the Fellowship of the Tabletop we have Darren who plays the human fighter rogue Robin. I once knew a chicken who could only lay its eggs in the winter, it was no spring chicken. Oh my god, we've got Whirlley who plays the human bard Carstan.
00:01:01
Speaker
Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to the other side! Oh, Ian, who plays the Dragonborn barbarian pilot in Drago. What the fuck is going on? We've got Callum, who plays the gnome-saucer of polytheists among the knights. Chickens weren't meant to fly. Well, that's a bit more than that. We've got Danny, who plays the human cleric, Claude. Cluck. We've got Casey, who plays the human champion, Helena Sligard.
00:01:30
Speaker
I don't want to be a pie, I don't like gravy! Yay! Chicken Run! The best, the best chicken movie I think there is. Is there a better one?

Vampire Battle and Golden Bracelet Quest

00:01:39
Speaker
I agree. No. I agree. Chicken Run is the best. Is it the only chicken movie? Are you doing our chicken movie? I don't know. Ah yes. I'm just thinking Babe, Pig in the City as well, but that's definitely a pig. Wallace and Gromit, the wrong trousers. The penguin pretends to be a chicken.
00:01:55
Speaker
True, true, true, true. So not actually a true... It's not really a chicken film. And your face, halfway through that explanation, your mind went, it's not chicken film. You tried to cover it up. I saw it in your face. I am clutching at straws. Your own betrayal. And speaking of clutching at straws, that's my segue into what happened in last week's episode of The Fellowship of the Tabletop. We ended our fight with the rather tumultuous vampires in the broken down mansion of the Green Barrel Estate looking for a
00:02:25
Speaker
a golden bracelet which if taken back to our old deadish man he would tell us more information about the book The World Away and also the proprietor of it at the time this fabled dawnstrider. Upon approaching the mansion and entering and we fight these vampires and

Encounter with the Chicken Wizard

00:02:44
Speaker
managed to banish them into oblivion upon which we find their three coffins. Drago and the others slowly broke these down whilst Robin went for a little look and found out some of the history of this place and where the owners might have gotten to or what was going on in this house and why it is now empty. He then pulled a book off the bookshelf and the ceiling collapsed all around him crushing Karstan's leg which miraculously healed itself very quickly afterwards and then left this huge gap in the ceiling above into the next floor up.
00:03:14
Speaker
We've all made our way up onto the floor and we now look out across this weird, desolate, strange room we've entered into. All of us have noticed this strange, iconic feeling that seems to surround you on the ceilings, on the walls, on the windows, on the floors. Even where the floor has collapsed, this thin film almost of magical essence seems to float and protect each of these, so we'll protect keeping in or protect keeping out something within these walls.
00:03:43
Speaker
As you all rise up into this area you notice a number of plinths and a fire pit, not even a fireplace, a fire pit in this place that's light to the shadows, flickering shadows on this chicken's face with its topaz eyes, small wizard's hat and two wands on its back tied on with a piece of string. He looks at you each in turn as you approach and says nothing.

Time, Bracelet, and Blight Discussion

00:04:07
Speaker
What would you like to do?
00:04:08
Speaker
Mate, may I suggest someone turns us into a chicken and maybe we can talk with the chicken? Uh, it's okay Claude, he speaks, uh, normal, Ogremov. Is, is this after we've met, or is this before we've met? Agrins to abandon before and afterings.
00:04:24
Speaker
Right. Could you translate, please? Because Ogramorph, he's a bit, time's a bit wibbly for him, so I was trying to establish whether this is the Ogramorph that met me at the Tower or whether this is before Ogramorph met me at the Tower and he's about to go through and at some point meet me from the past and the future. Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, Robin, Robin, this is for you.
00:04:53
Speaker
Robin is still at the back, still very, very flustered, still very, very unsure about everything, and is just going to walk forwards, look at the chicken man, turn his attention to Carstan, turn his attention to Claude, and then just go, so the chicken man is real. The

Negotiation with the Chicken Wizard

00:05:14
Speaker
wizard.
00:05:15
Speaker
Chicken, chicken wizard, does fluster its wings slightly, pull at its beak out and towards its wing a little bit, and looks directly at you, Robin, and says, Hester Keller, I am wizarding man, stuck in morphed poly of this great appendage. What comest thou herefore, ghastan, demi-plane, blight-fighter, bag of pipe?
00:05:40
Speaker
We're here to get a bracelet so we can find some information about a book called The World Away and Stop the Blight. Ah, and the bag of pipe. Just, just, just, just move on. Bag of pipe, yes. Wizard, lizard, man. Hang on now, chicken. I'm no lizard. But thou hast skills, hast thou not? Dragonborn.
00:06:10
Speaker
Born of dragon, thou knowest correct. Great appendage is the dragon form, yes. But we're here to find a bracelet.

Blight's Influence on Time

00:06:19
Speaker
You wouldn't happen to know anything about a magical... Is it a magical bracelet, guys? No, it's just a bracelet. Well, it was explained to us as a bracelet. The properties of it was not thoroughly explained.
00:06:33
Speaker
There's a special bracelet here that we've got to return. Moreover, we're actually searching for the world away. I mean, it'd be nice to get the bracelet, I guess. But Funkin's really... I mean, we can buy past the middle, man. Do you know about the world away? You are speaking of threading bear. Yes, man, I knoweth very well many times. Over. Bracelet? Yes! And he pulls from his back.
00:06:57
Speaker
in his beak one of the one of the wands gives it a quick flick and this bracelet does start to kind of pull itself out of the rubble on the far side nearest the window this golden bracelet floats he holds it the the wand in his mouth in his beak for a second and puts it down and the bracelet continues to float there bleached it very fond of for me part with it thou shalt not but go on
00:07:26
Speaker
I must steal it. Steal it? No. The needs of the planes of Demi outweigh the needs of Funkin' Fredbear, bastard man. Um, um, Trago, try flirting with the chicken again. I'm not gonna flirt with the chicken, I didn't- You did

Bracelet Negotiation Continues

00:07:42
Speaker
before. When did I even start with flirting with the chicken? The chicken's head falls back over it, leans back and gah, gah, gah, blaffed out hooter now. You are favorable to this ugly morph, man with beard.
00:07:55
Speaker
Thank you, chicken with chicken. Take us thou this, and yeh, pulls out a single feather, and yeh, holds it in its beak towards you. Take the feather. Ogramov, are you here for the bracelet? Is this why you're here? He sits on the floor, kind of nestles down like he's sitting on an egg, but nothing's there. Many time before or after.
00:08:23
Speaker
Garstan hath thou and I talked many time. Though time is of problem, days go on, nights fly, timeth is out of joint. The plan I had is not the plan we can. Things need to change fast. The gliteth moveth faster than thou canst imagine, faster than I could

Time's Fluidity and Realities

00:08:52
Speaker
see.
00:08:54
Speaker
Yeah, yeah. Just for clarification, this is only the second time we've met, if that helps. I don't know what plans we've come up together in the future, but this is only meeting number two. Carstan, what's he saying? Yes, Carstan, that sounded quite important. You just kind of went, yeah, yeah. And he's talking about the blights coming. He said the blights travelling further than a plan. And he said that he and I have spoken a lot of times before, but that might not have happened yet for me. Drago, what's Carstan saying?
00:09:23
Speaker
What's this? What's this name? Okremoth. Okremoth is my name. Yes. Claude. I don't understand what he's on about. Okay, you don't understand what's going on.
00:09:36
Speaker
Maybe Kastan can act as the interpreter here. But he wasn't doing a good job. So what you've got to imagine, Claude, is that imagine that I'm travelling sort of in this direction and Oglemore's travelling in this direction and essentially we're meeting... Really helpful to say directions on a podcast. I find that people understand exactly what this direction is. We're travelling in opposite directions. So we're meeting out of order. So...
00:10:05
Speaker
When Olgromorph and I first met, might not have been the first time Olgromorph has ever met me, maybe. Time's a bit... It's not very... It's very fluid. It's like a

Strategizing Against the Blight

00:10:20
Speaker
river. It can do what it wants. It's immaterial, I think, is what Olgromorph has said before. Listen, Claude, if you don't understand it now, then I don't think you ever will. Excuse me, we just need that bracelet kind, sir. If we could work out some arrangement?
00:10:35
Speaker
Absolutely not. Bracelet is mine. Bracelet has meaning past time and self. Bracelet stays with me. You said about the bright light, like encroaching faster than you thought. Are you talking about the here and now in the time that we are currently present in? Hester Keller, Okramov, speaketh of the blight.
00:11:03
Speaker
Forming time. Changing, bending time. Timeth moving slower. Timeth moving faster. Done by blight. Danger to us all. You must move faster than thou hast thought in the past when Gaston, blight fighter, bag of pipe, and I spoke before. Yes, we would like to move faster, but you're not sort of allowing us to move faster. Who's time of? Helen is going to turn to Robin and say,
00:11:33
Speaker
We've come here for one thing only, it's this fucking bracelet and if this chicken isn't gonna let us have it, do you not think that we should just kill it? Robin has been staring intently at the chicken man and once Helena has spoken to him, he's going to snap out of his disbelieving trance and turn and look at Helena and go, do you know Helena?
00:11:58
Speaker
What I would really, really, really like to do is get out of this mansion if that's okay. Chicken Man, I doubt the very reality of my existence right now. I'm having what I believe is known as an existential crisis, but I can see if I put out my hand and touch you on your head, but yes, you are real. Could you make a wisdom saving throw, please?
00:12:27
Speaker
He's just, when you just touch him, gone, and moved back from you, and muttered something under his beak. That's six. You are now totally, like, mid-pat, mid-existential crisis, absolutely frozen on the spot. He's just cast Hold Person on you. Fucking hell. Robin, you've got to open your mouth more when you speak. He looks up and just pecks your hand once or something like that, and then he says,
00:12:56
Speaker
The crisis of the existential puts you closer to God if God-eth did exist. Good, you are learning human. His tears are salty.

Portal Opening and Sacrifices

00:13:13
Speaker
They don't understand or they're not really concerned with the other planes at the moment. They want to fix this world and the issue it's having. And to do that, we need, unless you can tell us where the book A World Away is. No. Okay. Can you... Oh, we're not getting anywhere. Bats!
00:13:39
Speaker
I can taketh thou closer to him. Him? The Strider of the Dawn, the one for whom you seek the book? No. Cutting middleman as dragon man says. Who's Dawn Strider? Anybody? He is the person we believe has the world away, or wrote the world away, or somewhat lever bound the world away. He's someone to do the book cast down, right? Keep up.
00:14:11
Speaker
Are you saying you can take us to Dornstrider? Ah, Dornstrider, be on sight of four, four okremov, however, two that search for him. I know their being, I know their place, taketh thou closer to the blight, closer to the forest, closer to that of the dead. So you could take us closer to two people that are searching for Dornstrider?
00:14:38
Speaker
Gaston, thou knowest right. Who are the people searching for Dawnstrider? Nay, methy, immaterial, surely to thee. What do they look like? Is one an elf? Nay, to our human-ish. Okay. Humanoid, as some might say. Blight of bane and skull of blade. Blight bane. Lucian. Lucian.
00:15:07
Speaker
Apologies, human. Maybe just hold him there. Just hold him for a moment. He's going to probably touch you again when you clearly don't like that. Fuck you, brother. Sweatings only makes the whole person lasting longer. I hate this fucking writer. So Blightbane, Lucian's searching for the book as well.
00:15:33
Speaker
This is good. If we can catch up with Lucian, this is good, right? And he looks and looks to everybody else. Well, it just seems like we could, um... We could cut funk and threadbare out the picture and move along quicker. The chicken at this ruffles its feathers. Yes, cut-fucker-out-picture!
00:15:54
Speaker
I don't understand. Can you just... Oh my God, get him out of the fucking hole. Yes, yes, yes, yes. And he casts Silence on you.

Entering the Blight's Reality

00:16:08
Speaker
No, he doesn't. He casts, he releases the spell, dropping, but just to the last minute, steps just to the side so the hand doesn't come down and pats on him. He just kind of falls to the ground slightly. He just ruffles his feathers a little bit and continues to peck at the floor.
00:16:23
Speaker
I don't understand. How has my brother heard of this book? How has he got there before we... Maybe he's heard about how to stop the Blight and has been trying to find the book, or... But he's on the front line. He can't possibly find the time to go searching for a bloody book. Well, welcome off. Do you know the answer? Yes, indeed. Speaking rude, people don't... Here, look. Look. Be honest.
00:16:50
Speaker
speak to him thyself, ask him thine questions. Location is immaterial, skull of blade. Skull of blade. How would you take us there? The chicken just and gestures its head towards the large and almost spitting red portal that's still ablaze behind him, casting light and shadows behind you on the windows of this large and dilapidated room.
00:17:20
Speaker
Sorry, I'm asking my brother these questions, yet I don't know where he is. No, no. Ogrimmarv is saying, if you want to know why Lucian's doing these things, we should ask him when we meet him, rather than asking Ogrimmarv who can't answer for you. Ogrimmarv

Meeting Lucian Blightbane

00:17:36
Speaker
can answer many questions, but answering many questions uses many words and Ogrimmarv has more timing pressure to do with many words saying.
00:17:46
Speaker
Shut the fuck up is what I'm getting from him. I think we need to get going from here. I think that's all we need from you. But what about the vampires? Do we need to deal with the vampires? Yes, we might have killed three of your children downstairs. Just chew. Are they yours? Did you say two or chew? No, two, because one of them escaped. Two, and he holds up both his wings. Two!
00:18:11
Speaker
Okay, and you're okay with this? Your children weren't dearly beloved by you? Restom, Hestom. They hath cometh through many times before, and will cometh through many times again. Powerful beings, but not with flaws. Gone for now, but returneth they will.
00:18:29
Speaker
Castan, I heard Reston, Preston, Pluman. What did he say? He says that they come through a few times. They're very, very powerful, but they do have flaws. And they're not here now, but they will return. Right. So the chicken gives birth to a vampire? No, no. No, the chicken doesn't give birth to vampires, Claude. No, you just made that up. Yeah. Folly.
00:18:56
Speaker
What do you think? I'm just very fucking confused right now.

Wizard's Transformation Backstory

00:19:02
Speaker
Got that impression because you weren't exactly speaking. I'm trying to keep up. I'm still stumbled by talking chicken right now. OK, Robin, have you come to your senses? OK. I just don't understand what people have. I mean, it's a talking chicken. OK, good. Let's move on.
00:19:21
Speaker
He's going to move up towards folly after saying that and looks up. Thou art wizarding mortal, dost thou not no morph of Polly? Yes, I suppose, but every experience I've had of the morph of Polly, as you refer to it as, doesn't permit people to talk as well and have such
00:19:48
Speaker
Great control over their own magic and vocabulary, as you have. I'm rather shocked. Hah! Bester killer, divine earnings were the study of this one. Fors sightings and foreshadowings haunt. Many powerful this one was. Greatest of all them in Regardings.
00:20:06
Speaker
Sorry, sorry, who the fuck is Polly and why can't we have the bracelet? I am really confused. He needs the bracelet first. And who is Polly? He needs the bracelet. Okay, okay, okay, okay, I'll come off. Can you just, I don't know, close your ears if you have them or whatever and I'll turn

Trust Issues with Agramorph

00:20:27
Speaker
away. I think we need a group discussion to catch each other up and then form a game plan.
00:20:33
Speaker
and he just squawks a little bit and poof in a small red bit of smoke, just kind of disappears out of sight. Okay. Good call. Yeah, gives us some time now.
00:20:45
Speaker
My limited understanding on this cast, and please speak up if I get this wrong, is that Agamoth, your chicken friend, has enabled us to bypass this whole bracelet side quest and go straight to finding the world away. And doing that means coming up with Helena, your brother, which can only be a... I don't know how you feel about that, but it does seem to be able to get us toward what we need quicker.
00:21:15
Speaker
I mean, I don't have a problem with that, that's fine with me. I would also really like to get to Lucian quicker. You know, he's my best mate, no offence, Folly. I didn't think you were so close to him. Folly, no, it's really quite a new relationship. No, it's Lucian. Oh yeah, I taught him how to hold an axe when he was about the size of my knee. Yeah, I don't think he's your best friend.
00:21:39
Speaker
There's a look on Folly's face right now. He feels rather disgusted as he believes

Group Dynamics and Relationships

00:21:45
Speaker
that now Claude has forgotten the intimate moment they shared after a little battle when Folly made him a little toy and it just seems to have been shoved to one side already. Yeah, no, but like you've been in my life a short time. Lucian's been in my life since he was born. Sorry Claude, I just thought we had something special.
00:22:03
Speaker
I believe we were having a discussion that was going to get us out of this house. Yeah, we're going to be able to cut out all the crap about this bracelet no one gives a shit about. And we're going to go straight to Lucy and go find the book A Way in the World. World way. I don't think that sounds good.
00:22:19
Speaker
I agree with you, Robin. I think anywhere that gets us there quicker is only a good thing. But, Castan, you've had most experience with this, Agramorph. Yep. Can he be trusted? Yep. Because it seems like we're going to be walking into a puzzle. Agramorph is the one that returned me from the demiplane that I was sent to. And he's the one that returned me and explained a lot of things to me. So we can trust him.
00:22:48
Speaker
his interests are to do with the planes as a greater thing than the than the the affairs of the world that's why he wants the bracelet there are some things he walks different planes so he's got bigger
00:23:04
Speaker
do we actually owe him a favour because he brought you back to us no no um no no we do not no it's it's complicated as i say claud i don't it i think my relationship with ocamore is more complicated than it seems i think it's no yes please go into more detail about your relationship with this chicken no i think we're good i think we're good and so castan you say he's trustworthy does anyone basically disagree with
00:23:31
Speaker
going along with just to clarify he's not really a chicken he's just he he he is a wizard who has been permanently polymorphed into the shape of a chicken just to clarify so that time where you told me that i could have been an eagle forever there was actually a small chance it might have happened yeah i mean i believed that you were going to be
00:23:55
Speaker
yeah fuck that again no no thank you i don't think i can pass a spell strong enough to do it though that's a throwback to episode 43 for anyone interested out there well played now that i made that out there could be any episode i just pulled another
00:24:12
Speaker
Yes, yes. Now, I'm right in thinking here as I stand here looking at this quite ominous portal that you did something once where something like that appeared and Lucian was on the other side.

Journey Through the Blighted Forest

00:24:24
Speaker
Any chance of rekindling of what you did, finding the magic again? Didn't I involve a book? I still have the cup that you threw. No, that he threw. Yeah, he threw it me. He threw it... Yeah, I've got it still. Do you want to use it? Because we opened a book.
00:24:39
Speaker
What happens if we throw the cup in the portal? Why don't we just get Ogomorph back as it's his portal and follow what he says if we're to trust him. Now I'm not saying that you can't throw a cup at Lucian but maybe when you see him it'll be easier to hit him if that's what you want to do. But I would just... Let's call Ogomorph back. Ogomorph, we're ready.
00:25:05
Speaker
In another bit of red smoke, he appears in exactly the same spot that he left from. All right, so we're going to go with your plan. We're going to let you keep the bracelet. We're going to go through the portal, catch up with Lucian, find the world away, end the blight, and everything's good.
00:25:28
Speaker
Before I said that. Does thou also need new car insurance? Given Folly's training... Do I get a cuddly toy if I get one? Two for one non cinema tickets. Folly needs building insurance. Do you cover fire damage? Do you cover act of folly?
00:26:00
Speaker
He looks to the group one at a time, just kind of almost looks like he's counting or just kind of sizing each of you up and turns to folly and looks his topaz eyes locking on to you. Portal will worketh only with sacrifice. Dost thou have some hair or blood that thou canst?
00:26:23
Speaker
Part with? You don't have to say sacrifice if you're talking about fucking hair. Many words mean many things, Dragonborn. Did it have to be a specific type of hair or blood? No. Thou hast some iconic ability within thine self that's chaotic. And this works for the... ...accuracy of thine portal entrance and exit, Hasten Putemow.
00:26:51
Speaker
Claude is going to clear his throat and step forward. I believe it's time.

Guidance from Lucian and Tactical Discussions

00:26:57
Speaker
And I'm going to take a small dagger and cut off half my beard and hand it over to Folly. Folly's kind of dumbstruck and he's just kind of looking at this wet fishy beard. He's just been handed to him. Still drenched in seaweed I think. This is awkward.
00:27:20
Speaker
I think I know what he's going to say here. It has to be your hair, Folly. I think that's where this is going. Sorry. Yep, that's right. Yep. Oh. A bit awkward now. Ah. Nobody got any clue. Ah.
00:27:55
Speaker
The chicken looks a bit sorry for Claude, as much as the chicken can look sorry.
00:28:00
Speaker
Thine human old man, kind as thou art, that dost not answer thine question. Ask Gaston before thine speak again, I think. Gnome thy hair or thy blood, please.
00:28:21
Speaker
I don't think I've ever actually given Folly any hair. We're not down there. No, Folly's going to do the dramatic thing instead. Folly's going to do the dramatic thing. He's going to pull out a vial which he's going to try and carefully hand to Ogrimorff and then he's going to take a dagger and just kind of cut across his own.
00:28:48
Speaker
Don't don't click your palm. That's really bad. No, you can't hold things. It's the worst way to give blood It's doing it. Let him be dramatic. God damn it
00:28:57
Speaker
Ogremoth is having to hold the vial in his beak. Balancers are underneath, head tilted to the side as he tries to collect a few droplets of blood from you.
00:29:25
Speaker
Yeah, it's fine. That's enough. Thank you. Stop the bleeding. Don't bleed on my floor. Damn drain. Very good, very good. Now, a human. I can't give it back. Give me the fuck out. It's in your beak, nice and calm. No need to turn me into a slug.

Reunion and Mission Discussion with Lucian

00:29:45
Speaker
Not yet. Don't like that, not yet, but I'm still going with it. Here you go.
00:30:00
Speaker
And with that, the chicken just kind of looks at you silently head tilted to the side, holding the vial upright for a second and just kind of shakes its head slightly like you idiot. And then he's going to turn around and walk up to the portal and smash the vial down on the ground and kind of almost like a chicken scratch.
00:30:17
Speaker
kind of a dust bowl in a farmyard, it kind of starts doing that with the blood, making like shapes and things from it. And the shapes in the blood start to glow. These seem to be strange, strange images, not even words or pictograms or anything like that. Just strange images that seem to appear and start to glow out of the blood that Foley gave.
00:30:35
Speaker
Using glass to help move it around the portal seems to kind of re-erupt into this red flame as it starts to kind of, the portal seems to emanate more energy. The floor, the ceiling, the walls around you with this glow starts to become and pulsate stronger and stronger. As the wizard finally stops and turns back to you, the portal is ready, Greg and Grosven. Just a quick one, sorry. Mark, whilst Olga Moore's been doing all the magical symbol stuff,
00:31:04
Speaker
Can Karsten have been studying and watching what he's doing? Yes, of course. Karsten's wanted to know more about portals and that kind of stuff, and he figures watching welcome off. Just as a note, Karsten's been trying to study what he's doing. No problem. While that's happening, it does take a few minutes to do that. Is there any other quick bits of conversation that want to take place before he announces that the portal's ready?
00:31:30
Speaker
Yeah, Chargo's gonna grab Robin by the wrist and just pull him close. Listen, normally you're the other person I can trust to keep his head. What's going on? Well, this day began with me not knowing that vampires were real with many things and I tried to return to a previous life where I was a very
00:31:58
Speaker
very capable master thief and within six seconds of returning to that life, I nearly committed regicide by killing Helena and also killing Carstan, which was kind of fulfilling a promise, I suppose. I'm okay. I'm fine. I just... Yeah. Yeah. You need to get it together. Come on. You're better than this and we need you for the big battle ahead. You've been through worse and you've always managed to come out the other side, get strong. I mean, I killed Eric Castle, didn't I?
00:32:25
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. Right. Yeah. I'm good. I feel like what I just said has ended on deaf ears but like what can I do to get Robin back to Robin? Have you got anything alcoholic on you?
00:32:43
Speaker
Okay. Just, just get your head together. Important stuff is coming up and we need you. And then Drago is going to let go of your wrist and walk towards closer to Ogmorph. Not too close. You can tell that Drago is just kind of trying to look over the group, analyze each one and evaluate
00:33:11
Speaker
the upcoming uh hardships that may befall us and he's just um giving everyone the once over okay thank you anything else want to be said or anything before the chicken finishes its scratchings
00:33:29
Speaker
No, we're all good. OK, so as Ogramov does finish up with his scratchings and the portal erupts into a new form of energy, you start to move closer and now almost framed by this incredible magic energy that seems to emit from this portal. And the shadow it creates across this small chicken. All that you really seem to see, apart from the silhouette, are these two outlines of the topaz

Meeting Vance Skullblade

00:33:52
Speaker
-colored eyes blaring light out towards you. The chicken turns.
00:33:58
Speaker
and takes on almost a more morbid and less genial form of talking, but in doing so seems to become clearer in the common tongue. This point onwards. Time moveth quickly. Danger amounts in death. When you pass here,
00:34:27
Speaker
There is but one way back, The death of you, or death of the Blight. Knoweth thou this? Knoweth thou this? From here, no chicken wizard may help thee, No friends from other world, or place, or god of place. It must be you, yet you alone,
00:34:57
Speaker
to finish what this realm has started. We have each other. Now we're ready. The tracker looks around. Yeah, we're ready. And we got each other.

Campfire Strategy and Bonding

00:35:16
Speaker
Thou art not ready, I can tell, but thou art must be all we have. But be not afeard, if thou dost fail on this plane of existence, there are many planes where thou dost succeed. I will go to them instead and speak to them. Okay. And he steps, kind of ruffles to the side and kind of lets you, lets you kind of, he kind of holds a wing up almost like, ta-da, kind of hears the portal, kind of adjusts you towards it.
00:35:46
Speaker
OK. Everyone ready? OK. Drago will just walk forwards with a glance back at everyone to go, yeah, yeah, coming with. Karsten's going to hang back, aiming to be the last one to go through. Fair enough. Drago's just going to walk through. Yeah, Kord will be like their sprinting race with Drago to be one of the first people through.
00:36:14
Speaker
Robin will use his mage hand to summon Ghostbane to his hand, and he will just go under his breath, trying to do it with more conviction this time. I killed Eraqus Lunatic. Get it together, Neverwinter. And he's just going to walk towards the portal. Lovely.

Reflection and Future Plans

00:36:36
Speaker
Folly is probably just going to pause for a brief moment and then go...
00:36:39
Speaker
And I think this is going to be fun, directly to Ogremorph, and then he's still flying, so he's just going to fly through the portal. Helena's going to hold out her hand to Karsten. You coming with? Yes, I just wanted to say thank you to Ogremorph, and hopefully I'll see you again, Ogremorph. Before or after.
00:37:10
Speaker
We shall meet again, yes. Okay, thank you. Many times. And Carsten will take Helen's hand and go through the portal, if that's where she'll go. Let's go. The first thing you experience stepping through the portal is a searing pain in your heads.
00:37:33
Speaker
A blinding light followed by a deadening darkness, a thudding noise as only the heartbeat seems to travel with you as you hear your blood moving round your body. This seems to last for a second in time but also in eternity. Your being, your sense of self
00:37:56
Speaker
There's an ethereal nature to what happens, but also a feeling of impending dread and doom and finality as you step through this and experience this shift of metaphysical shift from place to place. And when you come to, you are indeed somewhere that you were not previously. You see fog.
00:38:24
Speaker
all around you and silhouettes of trees trees with gnarled sinewy fingers of branches reaching up and out to the sky screeching almost at the sky itself you see barren dead land you see blackened earth grass that long has rotted and an absence of life moreover the opposite of the absence of life just the
00:38:55
Speaker
I don't know, I don't know what's going on now, but the total absence of life. The sun is in the sky and it feels more like the moon. Time hasn't moved on, but it doesn't seem to have the same effect here. The fog is too thick to pierce and the closeness of the air almost repelling the light itself. As you all come to, you come to in the order you kind of went to through, could everyone make a constitution saving throw, please?
00:39:26
Speaker
I feel like we're entering that part of the video game where it says from this point on, you won't be able to save.
00:39:35
Speaker
Yeah, I think it's that moment. Yeah. Respawn to disable. We've entered the darkness, then. That's it. That's it. Yeah, that's exactly it. Yeah. What you get that, what I will also say. So that's what your characters experience on a meta level. What I want to add to this from now on until the end of the campaign, as we approach this, as it hopefully feels like we're moving forward towards this impending ending. If your character dies,
00:40:04
Speaker
as in fully dies, you are out till the beginning of arc two. Because bringing in another character means where are we going to come across another level 13, 14 hero in the forests of the dead this late in the day. So what we're going to do is if there is a death, if there's a death, you are a perma-death.
00:40:29
Speaker
I've got a question. We've just changed the fabric of time. Have we changed it 120 days in the future? Why? Why did you leave him anyway? Has Charlie got him?
00:40:46
Speaker
Uh, we'll have to... I'm pretty sure he's in your pocket. He's probably still in my satchel. Charlie would have been a great show. I think you treat him like a Tamagotchi. I think you fed him in a couple of days, man. I think you might need to reset that. A couple of days hasn't even been a couple of days!
00:41:02
Speaker
Oh shit. Well, no, probably not. I'm so sorry. That is a bomb to drop, man. That's brilliant. That's made the stakes real. It just, yeah, lifts the stakes a little bit. It adds another layer to it. And it means you guys, if indeed you do die off, you get to listen to that ending. If indeed there are any deaths, listen to that ending fresh as an enjoyable list. Oh, yeah. Come back to shame. Protect each other. Damn. Right, guys. DC20 can't save. To be fair, you're dead.
00:41:29
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. There you go. As simple as that. You'll just vomit up your guts and you're all dead. Lucy, is that lying? What the fuck? You did say you wanted a constitution saving throw. Yes, please. Constitution saving throw. Let's go with Casey. What am I doing? Helena. Helena rolled a natural one, but she's going to use indomitable to be able to roll it again. Sure. Please. Roll again. You're proficient in these as a fighter. Come on, Helena. What?
00:42:00
Speaker
That was a con check you did. Oh, sorry then. Oh great, 23. Okay, thank you very much. Claude. A natural 20 for 24. Lovely, Folly. 25. Thank you. Robin. 26, 19 plus seven. Thank you. She's one away from a crit.
00:42:24
Speaker
I got a crit as well. 28 in total. Didn't you love that you guys are all critting on just a little con save? Shout out. This is saving our life after what you just said. I'll take it. I'll take it every good roll. Kazan? That's a 17. Oh, me too.
00:42:43
Speaker
meets it beats you lucky lucky so out of you all as you land cast and you're the only one that gets this overriding feeling of your lunch breakfast dinner everything kind of riding up in but you the last minute kind of swallow back the feeling of vomit
00:42:58
Speaker
And the feeling passes. The rest of you barely feel a thing. And as you land in this forest, the main thing you notice, apart from this shift in almost the fabric of time and space, is the oppressive silence. There is no nature. There are no birds. There is no rustle of wind. There is a stillness and an absence of color almost. It seems to like almost shift, Quentin Tarantino style into almost black and white almost. Not actually. Your skin is still the color of your skin.
00:43:27
Speaker
Everything else seems to just lack colour, lack life, lack substance as you enter into the forest of the dead. Does anyone else feel like we should have maybe had a quick rest before we came here? I do not feel very well. I thought we didn't have the time. Yes, sorry. Mark, do I recognise that we are within the blight?
00:43:55
Speaker
Yes, you do. Can you recognize this as part of Shadowview Forest? You know the forest very, very well. You don't know exactly where you are, but the style of trees, the way it's laid out, et cetera, looks like it after a serious infection of the blight. Probably a worse part of it than you would ever experience, but you can put two and two together. I'll just turn to everyone and say then, yeah, we're in a real bad place. I died here once. Sorry. You'll have to expand on that.
00:44:26
Speaker
Oh, you know, I died here once. You're not going to speak more about this. Where are we? What are we? Well, as far as I can tell, we're in the center of where the blighted lands are.
00:44:44
Speaker
If we go east, I imagine we'll get to Spiritmonde-Reed out. If we go west, I imagine we get back towards Clay Peak and the Academy and, well, the Eastern Front. Does anyone know or can get a sense of when we are here? Because Olga Moth was saying about time. That's true.
00:45:09
Speaker
I mean, I could contact someone at Serge, I could contact your brother if you want and just ask where he is and when it is. Yes, I would say so too. Okay. I would like to cast sending, please, Mark. Okay. I'm going to cast sending on Lucian Blightbane, my best friend, because I'm very familiar with him. It should be... New number, who dares? And I'm just going to say,
00:45:41
Speaker
Lucy in Blight Bay. This is Sir Coldheart. I am here with Helena. We are somewhere within the Blight. Where are you? Looking for world away. Love. And then you run out of words. Nice. Yep. It's a lead response.
00:46:12
Speaker
You just get back after a few seconds of silence. Is it in the voice or do you just hear the words? It's his voice. Look for the old oak tree. That's all that's responding. Your brother says look for the old oak tree. Can I do like a nature check to see if I can see this old oak tree?
00:46:39
Speaker
apps, maybe a perception investigation. It's probably perception. Yeah, perception would be probably more apt for that. Can Carson also be looking around for this tree? Of course. Yeah. Do you want to do a perception as well, Carson? Question for Mark while these roles are happening. Robin is just staring at the sky and I'm, and he is starting to remember the description
00:47:09
Speaker
of the sky that appeared when Elfyr appeared on the cliff tops. The colours rang a bell for me, I may be reading too much into it. Does it look like the same skyline? It does. Folly. Do you remember when Elfyr appeared on the cliff tops? Well, yes, yes, I do. Does this not look familiar to you?
00:47:37
Speaker
Father's going to take a moment to look up and look around and I think he's probably going to get some chills. Just kind of go up his spine as it were. Just as he looks around and gets a real image in his head of the atmosphere. I'm going to glance in Drago's direction and just go... He's here. Somewhere. I think we should be on our guard. Elfie is here.
00:48:06
Speaker
I believe so. Just to be on the safe side, when that kind of conversation happens, Follidge is going to cast May Shield on himself, to stop his AC a little bit. May drama.
00:48:25
Speaker
Yeah, sorry, mage armor, not mage shield, my apologies. Sorry. And while this is going on, Drago is going to get Dengon's deception from his back and hold it at the ready.
00:48:42
Speaker
or not at the ready, just stand, then go to the reception in one hand and Drago's going to just stood trying to relax his shoulders, but he's kind of bouncing up and down on the balls of his feet just to be out to react. There you go. Okay. Lovely. Uh, Helena, what do you roll for your, for your perception check? I roll the 15. Okay. Uh, cast on 28.
00:49:06
Speaker
Helen, you search out through the tree line and you see more of the same, more of what once upon a time was a forest you might have visited, an area in Shadowview that you might have visited. But aside from that, you can't see much apart from these same similar trees running off into the distance.
00:49:25
Speaker
Kastan as you scan across you don't see at kind of trunk level anything that might give away that of an oak but you do look up and see a slightly taller tree which has takes on a different form just to the north of your current location if indeed the sun is in the correct location for north south east west okay Kastan will sort of go over to Helena I think it could be in that direction that tree stands out a little bit
00:49:52
Speaker
Sorry, just adding to that, adding to that very, no, actually, no, sorry, carry on. Well, Helena would have been walking, started to walk into that direction. I think we're going this way, everybody. Are we going along? Yep, yep, yep, yep. Is Folly still flying or has going through the portal? They still flying. I'm still flying. Okay, Folly's just flying along them for now.
00:50:20
Speaker
As you start to make your way through this portion of the forest, each step is a squelch. You're a crunch of dead leaves under your feet or a squelch of boggy marshland, except for Folly, obviously, because he's flying. Again, there's still not a breath of wind. You seem to make all the noise in this forest. There is no other noise coming out of any other location.
00:50:43
Speaker
This goes on for quite some time, probably about 30, 40 minutes of walking. Is there any conversation what's to take place or are we just on guard in silence? I'm still pretty fucked. Oh, Helena was going to say to Claude actually, how far did it take you to speak with Lucian? How far? Do you know how far away he is?
00:51:09
Speaker
No, it's sort of like I speak directly to his brain. But I explained where we were and he said look for the old oak tree, so you might have an idea. I just wondered if you had any ideas where he might be. I could say something else. Is there anything else you'd like to say to him? Well, I don't know whether we need any more clues. Well, we're going in the direction of this tree. If we get lost I could ask him again. But it's up to you. I'll say whatever you need.
00:51:40
Speaker
Can you do it any time you like? I can do it. One more time. Right, we'll do it now then. Let's wait until we've walked a little bit further and then maybe it might be nice for you to do it. Polly, if you're flying, could you go a bit higher and maybe see if you could spot an old oak? Yes, of course.
00:52:02
Speaker
Yeah, make yourself useful. Are you applying that Foley is not pulling his weight? I mean, given that this spell is 10 minutes and I assume we've made the most of it. Well, yeah, you may as well. I don't know if you've already seen him. Shoots up and the spell dissipates. He will fall gently to the ground. A lot more than you. But yeah, I'm going to I'll go up above the general treetops and just
00:52:28
Speaker
I don't know what I'm expecting to see because Castan's already seen this really big tree. Everything. I do not have a good perception of what Castan does. A good perception, no you don't. Give me a perception check nonetheless please with advantage as you are above the tree line. I'm going to follow Folly from below like spotting him just in case he falls. Thank you. I need to conserve spells. Ten of my perception.
00:52:55
Speaker
Luckily, it's really straightforward. You see a forest. I can see wood. You see lots of fog. You can see the tree that Karsten has referred to. Aside from that, you can make out nothing else. Folly's just going to glide back down and says, but I was able to see the tree. Oh, good. If you didn't see any dead,
00:53:21
Speaker
No, no, I don't know why the dead would be flying. They've never flown before. We've met flying dead creatures before. Yeah, let's not wish that upon any of us. Well, we didn't see any flying dead then. On the discussion of the dead, Robin is just going to be inspecting Ghostbane for any trace of light glistening in the blade. He's going to be doing that sporadically as we're moving.
00:53:48
Speaker
Since you got here, Robin, and since the first time you looked at it, there has been a very, very, very dull glow coming from Ghostbane. Nothing like the peaks like when the dead were close, like it has on previous occasions, but there is a very, very dull glow that seems to perpetually haunt Ghostbane since coming to this place. As we're walking, Carson's going to sort of be looking around, then also go to called Claude,
00:54:18
Speaker
Are you worried about being able to talk to Akiva? Because Agramov mentioned about us having to do this ourselves and about saying that friends and gods and that lot couldn't help us. Is that a worry? Something got on stand course, Dan.
00:54:34
Speaker
is that Akiva's always with me. Even if I can't speak to him directly, he's always there. I just know you've tapped into him a few times to help bail us out of really difficult situations. I just didn't know whether it was a worry that we wouldn't be able to do that. Castan, my faith in him is unshakable. Okay, we'll put that as a maybe. Castan, I hope that one day... No, I don't, because that would mean that we failed.
00:55:05
Speaker
Class, don't you just be more open to the idea of religion in general? Oh, no, no, no. I'm open to the idea and the concept. I'm just concerned about whether you're going to be able to sort of tap up your big A guy for, you know, certain help. Well, if I'm not, we're all fucked. Good. OK, glad we've clarified that. Drago is like 20% fucked. So just pray. Just pray for the best.
00:55:46
Speaker
Fatter trees, for want of better expression. Older trees, as you enter deeper, it seems, into the forest, the older part of the forest. But the lack of nature continues. The lack of life continues also. You get closer to this large tree, you notice. And as you approach this tree, it seems to be one of the older trees in the forest prior to the forest being killed, for want of better expression.
00:55:56
Speaker
I think we'll be fine with or without Akiva.
00:56:13
Speaker
As you look around the tree, there's nothing really there of note. Save that cast, and you notice, not 150 feet away, continuing to the east, sorry, to the west, a very small trickle of black smoke rising. It looks like there's a campfire over there, everybody, or something's on fire. Maybe a camp? Shit, let's move quickly, and Helen is going to just start to run.
00:56:43
Speaker
Okay, nevermind then. That folly will. I'm going to run with Caroline. Yeah, looks like we're going for a run.
00:56:55
Speaker
And as you all break off into a nice little jog through the forest of the dead, you move yourself round dead brambles and thickets, low reaching branches and kind of pushing through them as you start to pick up pace. Hell, and I kind of from your perspective, watching it from the front, as you push under your blood pumping, as you feel like you're getting closer, you can smell now.
00:57:14
Speaker
The smell of fog starts to dissipate, and the smell of smoke starts to approach. As you get closer, you push past one final bramble, and you see a slight opening. Not a big opening, but a slight opening. The fog thick in this area. You see a small campfire with two tents next to it. There's a figure crouched down next to the fire with its back to you. And just as you approach that opening, you hear this noise of chain links kind of like being unfurled. And all of a sudden, could you make a dexterity saving throw, please?
00:57:45
Speaker
Yes, Helena. Me. That's the first. Twelve.
00:57:55
Speaker
You face plant into the mud and into the dirt below you. As something catches both your legs mid stride and bang, you just face plant taking two points of bludgeoning damage as you hit the ground and you're slightly winded by what's just happened. The chain you can feel on the front of your shins are kind of like normal size chains. And as you feel them kind of get pulled back, suddenly this large object gets caught on your calf and you just say, oh bugger.
00:58:26
Speaker
And as you look up, you kind of peer and you follow the chain round and away, and you see crouched behind one of the trees with its back to the campfire, kind of hiding from any encroaching visitors. You see the face, the wounded, bloodied, battered, tired-looking face of your older brother, Lucian Blightbane. What? Polly's going to throw a cup at him.
00:58:55
Speaker
A wire? Follies throwing a cup. As soon as he ate ley-lied on Lucian, Follies pulling out a cup from him looks like I'm throwing it at him. Roll to hit. Are you actually doing that? Improvised weapon? Absolutely, I am. Roll to hit. Do we all see him do this? What? See Follie throw a cup at Lucian Blaine? The hero of Sleetguard? Yes. Can I just cast Bane on Follies?
00:59:25
Speaker
That's it, turn the spot spots. I thought you were going to go banish. No way! 21. Brilliant. Yeah, it hits. Roll damage. It's like 1d4. It's 1d4, yeah. Well, it's an improvised weapon, which if you're not proficient with it means it's just going to be your dex modifier. Oh, this dex modifier then, yeah. Oh, my dex modifier's a plus 3. 3 then? 3, yeah.
00:59:52
Speaker
So yeah, three points of damage. There's no ventures to the robot. What are you doing, Folly? It's my brother, for fuck's sake. Folly, you're a cupboard me. Folly, stop throwing. Lucien, and Helen is going to scramble up from tripping on the floor and covered in leaves and smushed and murdered and whatever. She's going to run over to him. What's going on? Why are you here?
01:00:21
Speaker
Why are you here? That's the question we should all be answering here. Well, I'll let you take one, Helena. Let's just, how many are there of you? Six, including myself. Six. Well, good. We can do the- We stepped through a portal. I got Claude to message you to see
01:00:51
Speaker
And I'll take a knee at this point. Sir Coldheart, your longest friend, I'm sure. You remember Claude? Yeah, from when we were younger. You were the voice in my head just now. Yeah, we come with a really great news. I'm sure. There's no good news in the forest of the dead. Come closer to the fire.
01:01:19
Speaker
Well, we're looking for a book, and apparently you were looking for a book, and we find the book, we've got the knife, we can end the blight. Yeah, we've got the Onyx Reaver. Wait. I... How do you... Please, just sit down. I have so many questions for you, and Vance should meet you both as well. Would you prefer to be camped in a more safe location?
01:01:48
Speaker
Sorry, just checking. The 15-year-old bard is telling me where I should camp. No, no, not telling you where to camp, just saying... He does some certain things that he can help. I can help make this camp more safe. Just, er, we're fine. Thank you. Oh. I appreciate it for now. Lucian, how have you been?
01:02:13
Speaker
he's just going to hold up his one good arm and for the first time you will get a good look at this
01:02:20
Speaker
person that you've heard so much about. He stands relative six foot just about in terms of height and has this kind of thick black hair that seems to get pulled back. It would be back if it wasn't for the dirt that seems to inhibit his hair and face. He has what you can only imagine at one point was a royal blue set of armor with large pauldrons on each shoulder. One with now matted with blood on the one side, which was fur at one point, which is now was white now kind of brown and blood stained as well.
01:02:50
Speaker
There was an emblem on the front of his breastplate as well, but that seems to have been crusted over with dirt and rust. And the rest of his armour follows suit. Though one notable feature for those who didn't know Lucian would be his absence of right arm at the elbow. It seems to have been severed at some point and a device, a contraption has been linked onto it. And as he's talking to Helena, he's on the kind of where the arm pit would
01:03:17
Speaker
sorry, his armpit of that area with his left hand, he's basically winching in the chains and it's kind of this contraptions pulling in the chain links. And if the chain links slowly get kind of pulled in, you notice what's been dragging behind is a large head of a mace that's been attached to these chain links that he kind of rolls up and clicks in. And so the kind of the base of his elbow is then this mace head below it. Holy shit. And he looks at you all
01:03:47
Speaker
Vance needs to meet you all too. We can talk about the safety of our camp soon, but let's just meet in the open for now until we get a better bearing on things. Sorry, did I trip on that? Yes, on my arm. What was it doing lying around in the floor? I threw it out to trip you. You knew it was me?
01:04:12
Speaker
No. I heard noise. A commotion. And out here you hear noise or a commotion. You assume it's death coming. I understand. I'm sorry, brother. I didn't realise it was you. I didn't realise it was you. Well... She's just going to grab him and give him a big squeeze. And he gives a light-hearted kind of pat on the back.
01:04:38
Speaker
for her sister as well and then kind of says a bit quieter under his breath it's good to see you come on and he's going to lead you all over to the camp which is about 20 or 30 feet away by this time the figure that the campfire has stood up and is looking at you
01:04:56
Speaker
his hand sits on the pommel of the sword standing tall, probably a bit taller, 6 foot 3, 6 foot 4, stands another human it seems. Though in the
01:05:13
Speaker
He stands in front of the fire, which gives this kind of a serene glow around him almost. But what you see is a battle-hardened stereotypical veteran, if you will, of combat. Short white hair, white beard, kind of thin and straggled neck. But this impressive set of armor set upon an impressive set of shoulders. This seems to be almost orcish in design, though the holder is human.
01:05:39
Speaker
The sword he leans his hand on, the scabbard of which is kind of jet black, but the rest of his armour is a kind of light brown all over. He stands proud, stands tall, and looks at you each individually. Well, we've got some visitors here, it seems. Who are you all? I'm Helena. The sister? Yes.
01:06:08
Speaker
And the others? My name is Claude Coldheart, formerly Knight of Sleetguard, now a member of the Hailstorm Surge. Did your mother give you that name? No, I was nameless and abandoned by my mother. I would have ruined a joke. Yeah, good joke man. Nice to meet you though. You too.
01:06:36
Speaker
Bard, I assume, from the hat. Yes, I'm Karstan, a bard adventurer and general storyteller chronicling this great party's adventures. Hi. OK, good, good. And who's left?

Feel free to introduce yourselves. I don't have to fucking bring up an order or anything. Well, this is Robin. He's a great warrior as well. Nice sword. Go with the bow. We've got Folly. He's the gnome. He likes to blow things up. And then we've got... How come there's extraordinary, how have you now? Yeah, he likes to blow things up, as I said. And we've got Drago. Our... He likes to fight things. Good. These all sound like good people. Yep.
01:07:30
Speaker
Come, sit down by the fire. I'm sure there's much to discuss here. Sorry, I don't think we caught your name. I am Vance. Vance Skullblade. Oh, you're the one Agramorph told us about. Ah, the Blade of Skull! Yeah, nice to meet you. Who is an Agramorph? He's the Chicken Wizard. Okay, this is a... Oh, it's a very long story.
01:07:57
Speaker
Lucien, have we been in this forest too long? No, I think they are genuinely talking about a wizard. Who is a chicken? General Blackbane. Just Lucien. Oh, wrong voice. Oh, Christ. Just Lucien, please. Is it recognizable from Vance's armour that he's a member of the Hailstorm Surge as well? No. His armour looks nothing like a sleep guardian armour. And I will not mention the Reaver.
01:08:30
Speaker
Well, may I offer you some food? We have some rations, water, wine. Yes, please. Whatever you've got, I think my party would very much appreciate some food. Yeah, I had mentioned to Lucian about I could use some magic to make your camp a bit safer. How so? Will it bring attention to us anymore?
01:08:53
Speaker
No, it'll create a little magical hut which will stop things from being able to get in. Yeah, I know the spell. Okay, yeah. If you would be so kind, Bard. Okay, I'll start casting it around the fire and we'll go from there.
01:09:10
Speaker
Vance walks off and starts to gather some supplies. He moves rustily, achingly, as Lucian sits down on one log nearby and starts staring into the fire as you all join. Just a vibe check. I know that Lucian looked injured and just took a teacup to the face and Vance obviously looks injured. So I'm just going to do two sets of cure wounds on both of them. If that's okay? Yeah, sure. Just to take the edge off a bit.
01:09:38
Speaker
Would they notice you doing this? Is it obvious? Yeah, I have to touch them. Okay. Neither of them kind of flinch as you reach out and touch them. Reach out and touch them. Do you see them sigh?
01:09:55
Speaker
You do see them, once the spell takes hold, the tension kind of drops from their shoulders slightly, but the look of pain seems to not come from a physical, much of a physical, it does have some effect, but not so much from physical, it's also there's a mental toll that this place seems to be, something seems to have been placing upon them. Sure, okay, well then 20 points, 20 points felt better off. Oh yeah, they definitely take that, they take that with thanks.
01:10:22
Speaker
I will just fall in beside Folly and I will go take it the Onyx Reaver is safe in that bag. Yeah, no one's ever been able to get anything out of this bag without my say so yet, so should be. Although we are in a very unusual place. Who knows what kind of magic could be here? Do me a favor. Hmm? Look after it and try not to throw it at anyone. No, no, the dagger is in a very safe place, although
01:10:52
Speaker
I've only had my time. Still concerned of the health person. I still believe he's around here somewhere. Something awfully unsettling about this place. As that conversation takes place, Vance has poured out a number of cups of wine from a sheepskin and has handed them methodically to each member of the party. Are you guys sitting around the fire? Are you standing? What's your arrangement?
01:11:20
Speaker
Helena's going to sit by the fire and she's going to pull Lucian down by the side of her so she can have a chat with him. I'm going to try and get Castan to just help me get some firewood so I can have a private word with him. I think he's mid-spelled casting. Yeah, it should only take me about 10 minutes to cast this spell as a ritual and then all yours. I'm going to do the exact same thing with Folly instead. Castan's going to be there casting going, don't walk away until I've cast a spell.
01:11:48
Speaker
So as you reach there, kind of getting that done, Vance has gone round and handed you all a cup of wine. And Lucian sat very solemnly during this, even with Helen and X, just as everyone's kind of settling into place as the tiny hut is cast. And when there's this feeling of safety appearing around you, as this well-known now net of safety appears in the form of this small hut, Lucian will just stand. And on that Vance will also stand
01:12:19

And Lucien lifts up his glass and almost mutters quietly to himself, to the living. To the living. To the living. To the living. To the living. He throws back his drink and so does Vance and they both solemnly sit back down. Lucien looks up towards Helena, looks up at the rest of the party. Now, I need to know why you're all here.
