Introduction and Purpose

00:00:03
Speaker
Welcome to the Solarpreneur Podcast, where we teach you to take your solar business to the next level. My name is Taylor Armstrong. I went from $50 in my bank account and struggling for groceries to closing 150 deals in the year and cracking the code on why sales reps fell.
00:00:19
Speaker
I teach you avoid the mistakes I made and bring in the top solar dogs of the industry to let you in on the secrets of generating more leads, falling up like a pro, and closing more deals.

Solopreneurship and Mastery

00:00:31
Speaker
What is a solopreneur you might ask? A solopreneur is a new breed of solopro that is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve mastery and you are about to become one.

Anticipation for SolarCon 2024

00:00:42
Speaker
I feel like SolarCon 2024 just ended just, you know, yesterday. we have another one this week, boys and girls. i know.
00:00:53
Speaker
And the biggest one ever. heard the history of SolarCons. We've had some big ones in the past. This is going to surpass all of them. Maybe combined. That's insane.
00:01:05
Speaker
I know. Do you think, are you late are you allowed to say how many tickets you're at? is it Oh, we're in thousands, bro. Like thousands. were I think we're probably going to get between four, five, probably 5,000.

Star Speakers and Changes

00:01:21
Speaker
I would say close to 5,000, especially now with the announcement um with the sharks from Shark Tank, not just any sharks, but the so most known ones out of all of them.
00:01:33
Speaker
ah Robert Herjavec, Damon John, um and Mr. Wonderful. like That's huge for free tickets to SolarCon to get that. And then David Goggins on top of that.
00:01:43
Speaker
So, you know, the people weren't, I know Tony Robbins had to bow out with his eye surgery, but I don't think he could pick a better backup speakers than that, right?
00:01:56
Speaker
I know. You guys pivoted it quick. I'm like... were was there ah Were you guys a little stressed when Tony Robbins backed out? Did that come on pretty quick? Before, I had no gray hairs. like and After that, this is what happened. okay so No, it was it was stressful as hell.
00:02:14
Speaker
you know um But that's part of the conference life, man. you know I wouldn't ah wish this on anybody. So we got the one, the only Joe Moose on the show.
00:02:25
Speaker
Let's go live solar con 2025 preview for us. um So it's time only a few more days away. We got to know what's going on. Right. You got to know what who's speaking and what we'll be expecting and when should

Securing Speakers and Event Agenda

00:02:40
Speaker
we get in and out? Right.
00:02:41
Speaker
I know, man. So, yeah, and i've I've been getting a lot of questions like Taylor, who's speaking at it? What's the agenda? And I know you guys were keeping it under wraps for a little bit here, but um now we've finally got... It's been released!
00:02:58
Speaker
It's all been released. Everybody knows it's getting out there. So, yeah, the countdown is... more announcements to be be speakers. i don't know if you guys know on top of the, the sharks of shark tank and David Goggins, we got Brian Tracy going to be coming and saying a few words to a solar con audience.
00:03:18
Speaker
um So that's huge news. A lot of people are excited to see him too. Yeah. Incredible. Yeah, that guy, he I don't think he's really speaking anymore, is he, Brian Tracy? is No, very rare occasion. We we got lucky because ah we know a friend of a friend kind of thing where Mr. ah Ben Ward, you guys don't know Ben Ward, he wrote Pluck the FUD, um a great speaker, and he introduced us to Brian Tracy, and one thing led to another, and he's speaking at SolarCon, baby.
00:03:48
Speaker
Incredible. So yeah, man, I want to go through the agenda and give people a preview. But before that, um yeah, I mean, can you just walk us maybe give some like behind the scenes, Joe?
00:03:59
Speaker
What's what does it go into like preparing for the speaker? I don't know how much you're involved in that, like figuring out the speakers, contact them. But what's what's the behind the scenes like for all that? Selecting the speakers and everything?
00:04:11
Speaker
It's a huge team effort, man. It's not so one person doing any particular thing, um but it guess it's it's stressful and it takes a ah long time to do it.
00:04:22
Speaker
Really, it's the team around me who's really getting things done, like ah Jake. ah got the Champions Fund done to be able to get ah you know free tickets for everybody. If you guys don't know, I'm sure somebody you know doesn't know, but Solingana has free tickets this year for anybody who wants to go.
00:04:40
Speaker
um So make sure you guys know that. And that's because of the Champions

Solar Industry Evolution

00:04:43
Speaker
Fund. um And also making sure we get this you know celebrity speakers. Jake Hess got that done. I mean, that is such a game changer, Taylor.
00:04:52
Speaker
Think about that, bro. Like going from, you know, $500 tickets to go to an event to ah free to go to the same event and to get the biggest speakers we've ever had.
00:05:04
Speaker
mean, it's just a huge, such a game changer for SolarCon. And what we expect going to the future too, you know? Yeah. i yeah I thought i was, everyone's like, oh, this is too good to be true.
00:05:15
Speaker
Like I wish you would posted that on April 1st. That would have been a a great little.

Organizing and Sponsorship

00:05:20
Speaker
it's you know At the end of the day, it's the solar community coming together. you know and you know there's ah We're going through an evolution, let's say, in the solar industry. and We need to make sure everybody's on the same page of what's going on, how to you know make sure we're taking care of these homeowners, compliance, ethics, um knowing what's going on with the finance world, what's going on with domestic content, what's going on with you know manufacturing, and really know what the future looks like what for the solar industry. I think that's the
00:05:50
Speaker
but We need to get as many people from the solo industry to go and this is the best way to do it, you know? Yeah Well, how did that even happen? Like because I know it's some champions fun, but like can you explain what that is like how does this champions fun get graded who did so I'm not the one spearheaded it So I'm just out at the backseat of Washington Jake has to do his magic um But it was a something put together by top sponsors um in the in Solarcon. So pretty much our diamond sponsors and higher are all contributed to making this happen.
00:06:22
Speaker
So it was a group effort, team effort. and These guys that were in the Champions Funds on the website, i'll go right to the first page. You'll see the Champions Fund and who's in there. um It's a collective of about 10 to 15, I get and think, at this point, um who all chipped in to you know make that happen. Because without that, um it would be a solo con, but not to the extreme it's going to be this year.
00:06:45
Speaker
Yeah. Wow. Yeah. Just mind-blowing. I couldn't believe it And, um yeah, i mean, even people that bought their tickets, like they're literally getting refunded, right?
00:06:56
Speaker
like Yeah, exactly. So they get to have some gambling money. go out there, you get double your refund when you get to Vegas. But, yeah, no, go to the booth at Solicon.
00:07:07
Speaker
When you enter, you go ahead and get your refund. Everything is laid out, ready to go. Yeah. Wow. All right. Well, people better be ah taking you a gambling or something, thanking you for this Champions Fund. You got to take Taylor Armstrong. You take him to dinner, everybody. Come on. I'm sure we're like a nice steak, right?
00:07:25
Speaker
Yeah. It was all me behind the Champions Fund. Take out of the mirror. Hey, man. You helped Solokon out. you know's Everybody should thank you. who I'll take you out. but At least least go out with me, Taylor.
00:07:37
Speaker
Yeah, okay. All right. Yeah, well, it'll be a good time. But ah yeah, man. So let's ah let's jump into some some of the speakers coming up. You know, we got David Goggins. We got the Sharks.
00:07:49
Speaker
We got Brian Tracy. Dan Fleischman. Dan Fleischman. Okay. List goes on and on and on and just some heavy hitters. And we get industry speakers, you know, Abby Hopper with SIA.
00:08:02
Speaker
um You know, so we have some, ah you know, what's his name? Tim Treffrin with Recheck. And that's a lot of stuff that people don't know about in this whole industry, what's going on. So it's going to be some eye-opening stuff that the industry is trying to fix its fix the itself, right? They see where their problems are and they're they're not just laying back and saying, all right,

Event Challenges and Networking

00:08:22
Speaker
we'll see what happens. Like they're out there, um you know, we're trying to figure out the solutions to these issues we're having.
00:08:28
Speaker
I know so many, so many ah good opportunities to hear from the best in the industry changes that are happening. ah You know, you got the celebrity speakers. um So, yeah, i mean, first of all, starting with the the heavy hitters, yeah you know, we got David Goggins, the Sharks.
00:08:43
Speaker
Um, originally it was going to be tony robbins and people were that was yeah, that was mind-blowing too. Um, and unfortunately i guess what was it a week or two ago?
00:08:54
Speaker
Found out he had like a eye surgery. Is that right? So he couldn't be a few days ago. and it was he let us know that he was really i get a lot of guys seen the video but ah He let us know that you know He had to go get emergency eye surgery and he's not allowed to travel for eight weeks um So there was nothing he can do, you know, besides a ah video call. And I know people don't want that experience. They want the in-person experience.
00:09:21
Speaker
um So we had to pivot. You know, we could have just gave up and sorry, guys. Right. That could have been the easy ah way out of it. And be like oh we tried. He's just not not coming. But we want to make sure um that this is the biggest SolarCon ever and that this continues continues going into the future.
00:09:39
Speaker
Yeah. So, I mean, I can imagine that'd be stress having like your headlining speaker just ah back out due to unforeseen circumstances. Oh my God. It's the craziest thing. It's the worst thing you can have as a conference owner, bro. The worst possible thing.
00:09:55
Speaker
Yeah. So, yeah, I don't know if we were live when you said so before that's when your first gray hairs popped up. But yeah, I'd be stressed out of mine. So how did howd you guys pivot so quick? How did how did you get Goggins and the Sharks just that quick? Because, mean, that could really go south fast. But you guys made a quick pivot, got some speakers that, that yeah, Irv.
00:10:18
Speaker
Yeah, man. you know um This is the cool thing is that, and you know better anybody, relationships. you know It's all about relationships. And but the more or good relationships you have, um the better you're going to do when things like this happen.
00:10:32
Speaker
right um And for us, one of our speakers, Dan Fleischman, I'm not sure if you know who that is or not. and um He's one of the part owners of Aspire Tour, where they have like the biggest speakers tour of the country. They're doing like five or next over over the next six months or something like that. so It's insane what they're doing. ah that um i mean The biggest speakers, lineups like you've never seen before. Have you seen those tour images and upcoming events at all, Taylor? Yeah, I've seen a couple of them.
00:11:04
Speaker
Yeah, Dan, he know he knows how to run an event. I know he's like, even a lot of events that he's not running himself, he's kind of like the person behind the scenes. Because I've been to a lot of events where he's like the one helping, you know, connect speakers and helping people at events. Yeah.
00:11:21
Speaker
I mean, and this is ah a friend of a friend, right? He was through PESI where he would I got introduced to him, and now he's able to help you know us and get SolarCon and get speakers because he's a he was literally hanging out with David Goggins um like in person with him.
00:11:38
Speaker
So that makes things always a lot easier when you have that personal connection with speakers. um He, you know, he knows the sharks, um you know, he's friends with them, talks to them. So when it comes down to relationships, it's not always about who, you know, it's about who, you know, that knows the people, you know, need to know.
00:11:55
Speaker
Yeah. That's awesome. But things came together, man. It's just, it's always having somebody there. It's always somebody who's the hero. So

Event Scheduling and Accessibility

00:12:03
Speaker
I appreciate Dan Flashman for a stepping in though, helping us out.
00:12:06
Speaker
Yeah, that's fire. um Awesome. So, yeah I'm going to pull up the ah the agenda here. And, yeah, maybe you can just walk us through some of the ones you're most looking forward to Joe. and The agenda is there, and it's pretty much finalized, but there could be a tiny bit changes here and there. So, Taylor, don't get mad if, you know, it's it's one thing changes after we ah have this live stream.
00:12:32
Speaker
Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I know. I know you got to make some pivots and all that. Should be good, though. It should be good. It should be pretty solid, what we're we're expecting at this point now. Yeah, okay. um So, yeah, you got the Tuesday. And, yeah, that's one thing I noticed, too, is it was changed Tuesday Thursday.
00:12:53
Speaker
a third day where before typically it's been on like weekends and everything. ye is that on purpose that you guys changed it? Oh yeah. We listened, we got a lot of feedback from attendees and from sponsors um where they rather do their conferences and, you know, kind of as business as part of their work week, um as opposed to utilizing the weekends where that's more for family and time off and, you know, maybe other things.
00:13:19
Speaker
So we pivoted to during the week and we're getting now amazing feedback. I don't think I've heard one person complain and because you're able to come to Vegas a weekend early and the the Vegas the weekend after and still have the conference. So so I think working out pretty nicely there.
00:13:35
Speaker
Yeah, that's awesome. I like it, especially all the people that are knocking doors. You know, it's like weekends. That's our busiest days. And there too. there you go Yeah. So I love that schedule. Love the change.
00:13:47
Speaker
um And yeah, probably... I would imagine probably cheaper flights, cheaper hotels, um don't have to deal with the weekend traffic and everything. So yeah, i love that change.
00:13:57
Speaker
Exactly. That's good. So yeah, you got check-in and you got to go ahead. Just to add to that really quick, because you're talking about it, hotels are still available on the website.
00:14:10
Speaker
The link is not available for the block, but if you actually call the phone number and let them know you're with Solarcon and to notate that, they'll actually give you discount. I think it's $110 a night for the 14th through the 18th still.
00:14:25
Speaker
So you're still able to get a pretty good discount just by calling the number um on that hotel block okay awesome yeah i was surprised how ah inexpensive hotels and everything were because that was like you know some people were bringing up oh i'm not gonna pay for hotels this and that and yeah i mean what 110 bucks a night right yeah so you're getting the same thing for four nights for the same thing last year was one night ah depending where you stayed at so it was a huge difference in price yeah massive So, yeah, so inexpensive, free tickets, like lottery, no excuse to not come to SolarCon.
00:15:01
Speaker
Yeah, crash at your buddies. I'm sure one of your buddies are going to SolarCon, so. Yeah, I mean, it's Vegas. It's Vegas. So you just, you don't even need a hotel. Just got lots of homeless people there.
00:15:14
Speaker
Just going out in the streets if you need to. It's so nice out. Who needs a ah roof over your head? Yeah, exactly. Exactly. So yeah, no excuses. Get your tickets. um So Joe, let's let's hop into some of the tentative schedule we got so far.
00:15:28
Speaker
So you got to connect. So ah before SolarCon even starts, we have an event inside of an event, baby. So, you know, we wanted to make sure we get the Latino community um being part of SolarCon and um we yeah We talked to Miguel Torres, who's leading this event. got some fire speakers, some of the top Latino speakers out there speaking in Spanish. So um this is really a community that ah loves to come together, and we're trying to bring everybody together Solacan. So this is going to happen before Solacan even starts, which is at 11.
00:16:02
Speaker
And this event starts at 9 a.m., and it's called the Connexiรณn Solar Hispania. um And it's going to be it's it's going to be what For about two yeah about two hours there.
00:16:13
Speaker
Okay, cool. And yeah, I like that. And that's what's cool this year is you guys have have multiple events within the event. um I feel like it's like, inception or something, you know, like dream within the dream event within the event.

Sales Training and Participation

00:16:29
Speaker
It's like, We bring the whole industry together. So we're trying to you know do it where you know we get to bring different communities together at the event, sales communities, you know females, um ah business leaders, you know whatever it is. we're bring those communities together at SolarCon.
00:16:45
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. And we'll talk more about it in a minute. But I mean, day two, day three, you got Sam Taggart, Danny Pesce. They're doing and their set her closer or closer tour. Sam's doing his door-to-door boot camp.
00:16:56
Speaker
Absolutely. yeah I've been to both of those events in the past and people pay for those events. i mean, people pay, you know, four or five, 600 bucks to go to just one of those events.
00:17:08
Speaker
And you've got like two of them happening at the event at SolarCon. Not even on our agenda is Pessy's Center Closer Tour, which he has some fire speakers. And I'm yeah i'm sure you know Ricardo Ritchie. um He has Nick Nascimento. was talking about MOD being on his stage.
00:17:27
Speaker
Like he has some top-notch speakers going on. So um it's going to be another whole agenda and available content at Solicon. It's going to be pretty overwhelming, the ah kind of education and training and information we're going to be offering at Solicon this year.
00:17:43
Speaker
Yeah. So yeah, just so much value you got with those things alone. um So yeah, I guess why should people, cause that's been a thing at events. Some people show up just for one day. Some people show up late.
00:17:56
Speaker
um For you, Joe, why do you think people should show up like on time for this thing? mean, it starts at 11 o'clock. What, why should people show up on time? Because at the end of the day, if you're going to go to the event, your goal is to make the most out of it.
00:18:12
Speaker
And if you try to prepare, you know this, Taylor, if you try to prepare for the event and you go over the time that's available and the things you need to get done, you will not have enough time to get everything done.
00:18:24
Speaker
So if you really look at the things you could get done if you want to, the content you can make, the education you can learn, the networking, the people you can meet, the meetings you can have if you find the right person, the connection. you know what mean? Like it goes on and on and on. If you actually make a list of the things you can get done at SolarCon and that doesn't fill the two and a half days that you have at SolarCon, then you you're missing of a lot of stuff that you could be getting also, right? So if you really want to get the most out of it and if you're going to go anyway,
00:18:51
Speaker
I mean, get go from the beginning to the end. Right. And then like it goes by so fast. it goes It goes like this, like an instant. And all of sudden it's like, oh, shit, it's over. And then you have to wait a whole nother year to be able to get, you know, any of the content. So like um really just take advantage of it while it's there.

Networking and Session Participation

00:19:08
Speaker
It's like watching kids grow up.
00:19:10
Speaker
you know they grow up so fast. You got to enjoy those days. Right, Taylor? Yeah, 100 percent. Yeah. And I know for me, like what's really cool is just the networking alone. So it's like.
00:19:21
Speaker
You'll be in the halls talking to people. That's why I think it's important to get there for the whole time, stay for the whole time. Cause yeah, you're going to miss some, some things here and there. You're going to be out networking with people in the halls. ah But make sure you show up for the whole time because yeah it goes by quick. And then I've been to events where we get to the end and i'm like, man, I didn't even get to half the things I wanted to So some of you already know that I run my own door-to-door sales team here in San Diego.
00:19:45
Speaker
And as we are gearing up for the summer, I realized if we do the same thing we always did, we're going to get the same results. But if I want to increase my deal flow, I need to do something different to get an advantage.
00:19:56
Speaker
Then we discovered an app called SolarScout. But it's not a door knocking app, it's a data platform that shows us who is likely to go solar in our market. It shows us who has previously applied for solar but later cancelled the deal, who has moved in recently, even how much electricity the homes are using in a given neighborhood.
00:20:15
Speaker
It's been working for a lot of teams across the country and now I'm on board too. I'm going to be one of the first to use Solar Scout in San Diego, so I decided to partner up. But i told them, hey, I'm going to talk about Solar Scout on my show, you need to give my listeners a great deal. And they did.
00:20:30
Speaker
So go to solarscout.app forward slash Taylor and book a demo with them and you'll get 10% off your first month when you sign up. That's solarscout.app forward slash Taylor. Okay, back to the show.
00:20:45
Speaker
Bro, we have the same issue, Taylor. What happens is this. You get comfortable, right? You go the event and you know two, three people and you stay in the corner and you talk to them the whole time ah the whole day. And then all of a sudden the whole day goes by so fast, right?
00:21:00
Speaker
So that's why i always say the key is to plan ahead what you want to do. So when you get into situations, you know, oh shit, my agenda shows that have to go to the speaker or my calendar shows is that I have a meeting ah you know, with this person, all of a sudden now you're getting things done. But if you don't plan ahead, you will be stuck in that conversation with the same three people the whole week, the whole week, I promise you.
00:21:21
Speaker
Yeah, 100%. i know. I've treated some events where it's like a vacation where I just show up, don't really know what I'm doing and then forget. So that is, I think, a secret to actually like, you know, like you said, plan exactly we want what you want to go to, who you want to network with, meetings you want to set up. Because yeah, that's how you're going to get the most out of the events.
00:21:41
Speaker
yeah So the the sharks and David Goggins and Brian Tracy, they're bringing you there, right? that They're giving you like, there's the no brainer to reason to go, but if you're going to go anyway, why not make the most of it? Why, why you waste any time? If you're to go anyway, that makes sense. Taylor.
00:21:57
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah, for sure. um So joe I see on this, you got VIP Platinum Onyx lunch. Let me ask you, do you guys still have VIP tickets available? People do want to upgrade their tickets.
00:22:09
Speaker
Taylor Armstrong with the gotcha question. that's I see what you're doing right there. No, we don't have the Onyx available anywhere. That's what you're trying to get to, but I'm just joking. Yeah, so it's going to be the VIP Platinum

Breakout Sessions and Key Speakers

00:22:22
Speaker
Lunch, and I highly suggest get platinum tickets right now um because you're getting front row seats to see the Sharks and David Goggins by getting platinum seats tickets right now.
00:22:34
Speaker
um So it's the best deal in the house. And then you're getting ah the swag bag. You get lunch with you. You get the VIP room. it's like... It's a no-brainer upgrade ah to make sure you guys get in the VIP upgraded luxury experience, baby.
00:22:49
Speaker
Yeah, I know. And especially where, what is it like, $300 to upgrade? Yeah, I mean, $300 to upgrade is just to the VIP, right? But the connections you make in the VIP room are different than the ones you make in the Expo th store, Taylor. You know what I'm talking about? It's a different atmosphere in there, and people have different conversations.
00:23:06
Speaker
You're getting, remember, those longer ah conversations, to those closer connections. um But you're also getting food each day. and And to me, it's more of a business decision. You know, like, what do you guys want to do? do you want to make as much, take you know, as time on the floor as possible and work, you know, work your magic?
00:23:22
Speaker
Or do you want to leave, go get some to eat? You know, all of sudden you're two hours away. All of a sudden you're like, do even want to come back? And you're losing that experience. So it also helps you get the most out of SolarCon and then you get better seating at the same time. So ah definitely upgrade to VIP at a minimum, but platinum for the but top experience.
00:23:41
Speaker
Yeah. And I mean, i would imagine you can't have, because if a thousand people buy platinum, i mean, you can't fit a thousand people. I don't think at the front of the floor. yeah So it's not front row, like all of them, but mean the front, the closest seats to the front row, I should say.
00:23:56
Speaker
yeah Okay. So, but these things, I mean, they sell out. Yeah. Yeah. yeah yeah Especially as we announced um the sharks and David Goggins, um they're extremely limited at this point for sure.
00:24:07
Speaker
But you still have the VIPs available at this point too. So ah definitely get those. Okay. So, yep. So grab them now They will sell out You can't have everyone towards the front of the room. So. Yeah. There's only so much food. Sorry, guys. We got to close it off.
00:24:22
Speaker
Yeah. Yep. So grab those tickets and you're going be hanging out with myself, with Joe. We're going to be in the the platinum room hanging out, eating some good food.
00:24:33
Speaker
And just makes it easier to network with people you know that are committed to their solar career. People that aren't making the money because, yeah, that's where they're at. They're in the platinum section. So i go grab your tickets for those. Yes, sir.
00:24:47
Speaker
Let's go and then got some breakout sessions Anything you want to say about these breakout sessions Joe any highlights that you think people should uh should make sure miss we really you know focused on the Industry the six pillars of the industry besides sales because we got the setter closer tour and Sam tagger doing a lot of the sales stuff so when it comes to compliance and manufacturing and domestic content and AI and You know, when it comes to just this, those different aspects of the solar industry that we need to know what's going on finance, like how important it is to know what's going on with finance storage, VPP, right? All these questions that, you know, as an industry, it's hard to find the truth on. We're going to have those top experts go over those ah points. And these panels, we're talking about top experts in the industry um because we know a few people.
00:25:38
Speaker
Uh since our years at solar console we got some of the top experts come up to really talk about these uh topics and then we got the center closure tour and sam i have some Crazy uh good speakers on the sales side.
00:25:50
Speaker
Yeah, and we got mod on this one too. He's thought he's gonna be having a a workshop himself. Yeah, mod so many good ah breakout sessions. And this is what my complaint last year is there's too many good like speakers at the same time.
00:26:06
Speaker
much yeah you know and we try to make it where it's like different topics though, but yeah, you know, it just makes you have to come the next year. Right. Yeah. taylor you I think I brought that up to Jake last year and he's like, Taylor, we did that on purpose.
00:26:20
Speaker
So you can't see all the speakers at once. So, you know, you need to keep coming back. So I'm like, yeah, that's smart. Plan ahead, baby. come back for yeah um so yeah that's day one and then so looks like these are the two headliners for day one is that right yeah joe robinson is our closing speaker on day one uh pretty excited to hear to hear him i haven't heard him speak uh myself but i hear amazing things by everybody so i'm really excited to hear him yeah doug is doug is one

Motivational Sessions and Evening Events

00:26:50
Speaker
of the goats yep he's uh
00:26:52
Speaker
the legacy power we're hearing him speak here in san diego to us uh for one of our conferences coming up so the guy's a great speaker knows what he's doing and ah knows how to navigate the peaks and valleys for sure so that's what people who want uh know being our speakers for sure yeah yeah so that'll be fire and then day two so we got another it looks like pre-event you got a even a woman's session come on Yeah. So this an event we're not invited to, Taylor, but it's okay.
00:27:20
Speaker
um This is a women powering tomorrow, exclusively to the ladies. And this is there the female leaders of the industry you know coming together to figure out what's the best pass, what's going on in solar you know themselves. So that's going to be a women's event for sure.
00:27:35
Speaker
Yeah. Cool. Yeah. So all the ladies out there, it's not just for guys. Get your get your tickets. You can get go to the women's session. Get the early in day two. Yeah.
00:27:46
Speaker
Give him a reason. Speaking of female, we got Abby Hopper, you know, one of our keynote speakers is going to be in the morning. that That's really exciting to hear her from Sia because that they're helping so much the industry and you know trying to fight back against these these issues that we're having in the industry, I'd say.
00:28:04
Speaker
Yeah. So what is she speaking about? and you know what she's going be talking I don't have the title in front of me. I can get it, but it's it's she's from CIA. So it's going to be about you know compliance and ethics and you know fighting against these um you know unfair net metering laws and stuff like that. Right.
00:28:21
Speaker
and Okay, cool. Yeah. Great topic with that. So yeah, that that'll be a good one Brian Tracy, we talked a little bit about that at the beginning, but man, this guy, he's he's ah getting up there. and how old Do you know how old he is now?
00:28:35
Speaker
is he I don't know exact age, but i but just talked to him last week. on a zoom and he was spry he was up he was funny he was dropping nuggets he was you know like he was you know didn't seem to me like it was any any issues uh with his age so um i think he's ready to go he's he's energized and he's excited to come to solocon and be on stage and drop some knowledge to the audience he's he's definitely gonna let you guys know a thing or two i can tell you that ah okay good so it's not gonna be like a joe biden situation where he's a
00:29:09
Speaker
Oh, I was worried about that a little bit myself, but no, I mean he was It looks like he's great shape man. Yeah No, he's he's a sharp guy and I know he's not doing a lot of speaking anymore But man, I mean no one better to hear from than this guy written so many books He's one of the OG's original mentors of all door-to-door sales Yeah, I think pretty much everyone It's like exactly what you're saying. Everyone in the industry recognizes him. Right. And so it's our our way of letting him know that. Right. Like we appreciate your value you've given. And sometimes those things are unheard and we want to make sure he hears it. Right.
00:29:48
Speaker
Yeah. Yes. That'll be good. Um, okay. And then, i mean the moment that that people are looking forward to, you got some, you got the heavy hitters coming up, the sharks.
00:29:59
Speaker
Yeah, let's go. So the

Conclusion and Reflections

00:30:02
Speaker
sharks are going to be doing literally a shark tech panel. So we're going to be doing a Q&A for 90 minutes with the with the Sharks themselves. So think about it. The things we could talk about. it's like They're like one of the top investment minds in the world are going to be in stage right in front of us giving their advice, information.
00:30:23
Speaker
I think that is so invaluable on its own, right? Yeah. Yeah. I mean, so good. you got all three of them too. Because I've been to events where maybe one of them comes, but all three of them.
00:30:35
Speaker
So, uh, man, make it a shark tag panel. Like it's not the same. We just, you know, you have one of them. It's cool. Right. But it's it's not the same experience. Yeah. Yeah. So cool. And Goggins see, I mean, he's not going to make us all do pushups or anything. Is he Joe?
00:30:51
Speaker
You know, he's going to inspire you to, just joking. You know, i mean, David Goggins, that's what i love about the the difference in speakers, too. Right. You have the the business ah investment minded, you know, finance gurus and the sharks. Right. And then you have David Goggins, the sales ah motivation, ah kind of inspired, inspirational ah speaker. So you can kind of both the both worlds um and everybody's different. You know, some people more like the sharks to be like more like, and you know, Goggins.
00:31:20
Speaker
um And for me, I think they're both amazing. And David Goggins one of the top speakers in the world. Like, you know what I mean? Like when I talk about some lightweight, he knows how to get on stage and fire people up. So I'm excited to hear him.
00:31:32
Speaker
Yeah, I'm glad he's coming. um i don't know if you remember. I think i think it was during COVID. He was supposed to speak at doorto door to door con when COVID was hitting. But then he, yeah, he didn't come speak because he didn't want to get COVID and everything.
00:31:46
Speaker
i like, man, isn't this guy supposed to be the toughest dude on the planet? And he doesn't show up during COVID. That tells you more about COVID than David Goggins, okay, Taylor?
00:31:58
Speaker
No, but hey, we didn't. yeah I mean, I know he's a tough guy, so. He'll beat you in a marathon, bro. Yeah, yeah. He's going to hear this podcast and maybe do push-ups on stage or something. going to be like, all right, everybody, where's Taylor Armstrong? said, I'm not tough.
00:32:17
Speaker
He's a solopreneur, I heard. yeah
00:32:22
Speaker
Yeah, but no, his books. Yeah, whenever I'm feeling like I'm getting lazy knocking doors or anything, I always go back to his books. So yeah, just ah incredible what that guy does. The mental toughness on another level with David Goggins. so I want some

Closing Remarks and Gratitude

00:32:37
Speaker
of that.
00:32:37
Speaker
So good. So good. Okay, and then a couple more highlights. So Alex Kaplan, Dan Fleischman. Um, those guys are going be great. Dan is always a good connector. And then I think we've got, um I know, I know there's some stuff going on like in the evenings show. Do you have any, uh, info on that? Yes. We're going to have, um, one main after party at solo con is going to be happening after day one.
00:33:04
Speaker
line energy is going to be, uh, hosting it. Uh, it's going to be, um, from, seven or eight, I believe on day one in the VIP room.
00:33:15
Speaker
um so if you guys don't know, now you know, be ready for an amazing after party. Okay. Yep. You got the invite. So be there, b square. That's going to be great. um And then day three. So ah looks like there's the breakout sessions,
00:33:37
Speaker
um And then is that a wrap? Does it end at 1230? Yeah, so um on day three, you know, we want it's going to be a half a day. So we wanted to really bring the fire early. um So you're going to see some of the top speakers going to be the first ones in the morning. um We're having one, um i mean, three workshops in the morning at the same time. sober I think the ones, the most popular ones ah that people want to go see. So it's going to be where,
00:34:03
Speaker
ah Half a day third day, but we're gonna bring the fire we're gonna have great speakers to make sure we bring that value that Ended the conference in the right way if you know what i mean. Yeah, awesome Yeah, and then looks like the Danny and Sam's events looks like they wrap up at four so that's kind of the the official Yeah, when their their agendas are you know, are pretty much done So when you guys see that you're gonna see there's even ah you know other speakers together. We haven't even brought up yet Yeah.
00:34:31
Speaker
So yeah, go check out that. Cause that's, I mean, we're just scratching the surface here. um Yeah. Again, if you look at even some of the speakers, like, you know, Danny, Sam, they've got coming speaking at their events within the event.
00:34:45
Speaker
yeah I mean, it's dudes making a million plus a year in solar. um It's some of the best of the best. So whatever you're more focused on, like we mentioned at beginning, you're there to learn more cells, then go through, look at the speakers that are best going to help you achieve those goals.
00:35:00
Speaker
um If you need to learn more about batteries, if you need to learn more about compliance, whatever, it they've got a speaker for, i think, pretty much everything you could think of when it relates to solar. so ah yeah and And don't forget, they get to hang out with Taylor Armstrong, right? that's It's an open invite.
00:35:17
Speaker
Anybody who comes to Silicon can hang out with you, right? Yep, hit me up. yeah we We might plan a little meet up, ah hang out, meet and greet. So, yeah, hit me up. Reason alone. Taylor is one of the coolest people to hang out with, the adam and anybody I know.
00:35:31
Speaker
ah Thank you, Joe. It means a lot. But ah yeah, if you're lucky enough, you might even get to meet the one, the only Joe Moose. I know this guy's going to be running around like a chicken with his head's cut off. You know me already there, Taylor.
00:35:43
Speaker
Yeah. If you you're lucky enough to get a minute with this man, go shake Joe's hand. Let him know you're grateful for all the work, all the time that's gone in into putting together this event. Because yeah, I've never seen an event quite like this. And yeah I mean, if it lives up to half the hype, half the hype,
00:36:01
Speaker
half of what we're seeing here, then it's already going to be one of the best events that I've ever been to. so We're excited, Joe. Let's go. I appreciate it. Yes, this is there's no doubt in my mind, you can put everything you you have on it, that this will be the biggest event SolarCon ever had in history.
00:36:19
Speaker
There's no doubt in mind. The most we've ever had, um the biggest speakers, the most attendees, um the best conversations, the most networking. And this is going one of the reasons why the SolarWinds is going to, this just the beginning.
00:36:31
Speaker
The SolarWinds has lots of great places to go. We're going to be a part of all that. Yeah. Welcome to the future, baby. The future. Yep. Yeah. The only problem. i don't know how you're going to ever top this, Joe. So maybe you guys need to not make it so much better every year. Bro, I was on stage last year with on main stage with Gary Vee doing a live Q&A. Okay.
00:36:52
Speaker
I thought that was my top moment. That's it. It's never going to beat that. And now we have this. So you can't tell me that anymore, right? There's no ceilings, bro. I know.
00:37:03
Speaker
Yep, only limits in our mind. I guess it can keep getting better. So dream big. It will, baby, especially if you have ah the right team around you. And that's what I got to make sure I attest to because I'm only a small part of this whole SolarCon team. And ah without them, this stuff would not be happening, especially the way it is. So shout out to the whole SolarCon team.
00:37:24
Speaker
Yeah, love it. Well, Joe, thank you so much for hopping on, giving us a little preview. And yeah, it's going to get better better. Make sure you show up on time for the event.
00:37:34
Speaker
Make sure you grab your tickets if you haven't already. Upgrade them. And what's, I mean, it's funny. It's like the upgraded tickets are still less than what the original general admission tickets were. they're worth it. like It's not like we're trying to overcharge to try to get as much money. We're just trying to make it affordable that you guys want to get it.
00:37:51
Speaker
And it's going to be something that does support SolarCon, especially get those hotel rooms. I think they're pretty much filling up. So get them before they end So just call the number on Harrah's.
00:38:03
Speaker
And I believe you can still get for $109 a night from the 14th to the um and the platinum gets you those close seats for see the sharks and david goggins so that'll be my last message taylor yep okay love it and if you do take advantage of that we will put all here in the show notes in the description where you can get those tickets easy the access and then uh yeah we have some exclusive solarpreneur bonuses if anyone wants to take advantage of those Then you can send us a copy of the confirmation code or also upgrade your tickets. We'll hook you up with some bonuses.
00:38:36
Speaker
um Some, you know, little, little freebies we got, including we're raffling off a chance for someone yeah with with us in San Diego too. So and get you all you can't beat that. So we're the best people hanging out with in the industry, baby. He knows everybody, always a good conversation. um And he's also inquisitive, likes to learn about you, what's going on. So I'm honestly telling you, one of the coolest people to know in the industry.
00:38:59
Speaker
Thank you so much, Joe. So, yep, let's let's ah let's all meet up at SolarCon and be there. Be there early. A few days away. Oh, my God, less than a week.
00:39:09
Speaker

00:39:20

00:39:51
Speaker

It's going to be at top10.solarpreneurs.com. Again, that's top10, the number 10,.solarpreneurs.com. Don't forget the S on solarpreneurs. We will have that in the show notes. Go download it right now.
00:40:30
