Winterfest & Creative Activities

Kicking things off, top five winter activities in Pennsylvania. We have Winterfest in Marionville. This event features food, fun. You have raffles, sky lanterns, and there's also, my personal favorite, a snowmobile torchlight parade with a vintage snowmobile display.

So how cool is that? I love Winterfest, you know, have a bunch of like kind of weird off-kilter things that are in there. So this is a great opportunity to enjoy Marionville if you've never been, but also celebrate the holiday season.

Number two, snowman in the forest. This is in Cook Forest, Pennsylvania. And taking place during the holiday season, this involves decorating the forest with snowmen. Ooh, that's cool. Snow people. Snow people, whatever you like to decorate with. Snow dogs, snow cats. Correct. And so families, visitors, you can explore the trails of the forest in the area, Cook Forest.

and see some of the beautifully crafted snow people nestled among the trees. I think this would be such a fun thing to do, especially with kids, just to meander the trails, bundle up, and see how creative people get with these snow people decorating. Charming as all get out, yeah.

Speaker
Yeah.

Festivals with Fire, Ice, and Polar Plunges

00:02:05
Speaker
Number three, Somerset's Fire and Ice Festival. There are a lot of fire and ice festivals throughout the country. This one is a huge one in Pennsylvania. It's typically held in January of every year. The community comes together and you have a bunch of fire and ice sculptures in a garden. You also have live entertainment. There's an ice slide. You have an ice carving competition.
00:02:32
Speaker
polar bear plunge for anybody that wants to jump in the water and be freezing cold. This is the place to do it. You're really selling it. It just does not sound appealing to me. I don't know. Maybe if I like I come across something in my travels this winter and I'm just feeling really brave, I'll do it. I mean, eye spatial are supposed to be great for your skin, so it's just one for the whole body. Wow, you're not selling it.
00:03:02
Speaker
Okay. All right. But yeah, lots of fire and ice festivals. That sounds amazing.

Tubing Adventures for Families

00:03:09
Speaker
And one of my favorite recommendations, snow tubing and goat tubing with the whole family. And if you don't know what that is, it is basically skiing, but sitting down in a tube. So it's definitely my speed.
00:03:27
Speaker
And there are a few places that you can go to do this with the family. So, galactic tubing at Camelbak Resort, Liberty Mountain Resort, Blue Mountain Resort, Montage Mountain, and Mount Pleasant of Edinburgh. So, it doesn't sound like much, but just imagine how much fun you can have just sitting down, going fast, and just hearing squeals of excitement. Like, that's just A plus for me.

Enchanting Winter Experiences

And then finally, we have a winter fest at Northern Star Farms. And this looks so legit. I was drawn in because of the horse-drawn carriages and the sleigh rides, but then I looked at the event website and it said, Santa, live reindeer, a cow train. What is that? Not 100% sure, but sounds great. Paintball.
00:04:13
Speaker
And like a peppermint raceway, like it looks fantastic. Lots to do. And at the very least, get some hot cocoa and sit in a sleigh and let the horses take you around the farm. It just looks like fabulous fun getting you into the winter spirit.
