Introduction to the Fellowship of the Tabletop
00:00:43
Speaker
Hello everyone and welcome to this week's episode of the Fellowship of the Tabletop, Belem Draconis. We are a live play 5e 2024 D&D podcast set in the magical homebrew board of Ereth and the Kingdom of Sleetgard slash Dralak. Joining us for this week's episode, we have the apple pie smashing edgelord Callum, who plays the warforged Shartifacer Alpha.
00:00:59
Speaker
Hello! We've got Ian, who plays the Tiefling Warsor, Nyx Kroll. Hi! We've got Will, who plays the Dragonborn Druid, Bal Balcon. Notted bum hair! My name is Mark, and I am playing the Human Blade singer, Seth, Pharaoh, Reaver. And by last, but by no means least, is our peril plotter, Pastisha Plot, the Puppeteer of Perception, and the Penile Penetrator, Dungeon Master Danny.
00:01:25
Speaker
They were good. They were good. I like peas. But you do. um And speaking of peas, we see old Gail chasing a single spinal pea around his plate. He must have had something like venison or lamb or maybe rabbit upon his plate because the bones are small and pensive.
00:01:42
Speaker
So he chased the pea with a fork around a few times before ah managing to finally spear it with his three-pronged trident fork
Humorous Mealtime and Dragon Egg Discussion
00:01:52
Speaker
and slowly pushes it shakily handily into his weirdly gaunt and odd teethed mouth. He chews what seems like an age on the singular P before swallowing it down, and then flicks an eye to us, listener, and begins.
00:02:11
Speaker
like using a fork as it gives those P's a chance. Ooh, 22, 49, hot, hot, hot. All of the group are here, even Balvrin. Thava's also here, and she's brought three dragon eggs, two belonging to Chandra Le Carr. Alpha's all protective and a little bit guilty over that. And also Trunks is outside, so Bal runs out, and he's like, oh, who's a good boy? But seize the steel nightmare. and it's turned like a blood red. Baal suggests that Nyx leave his bag of holding outside for the next chat, and after some back and forth, he agrees. Emron and Seth shoot evils around the group, but also feast. Drago appears, and he looks changed, sickened somewhat, not the stoic force he has always been, perhaps even afraid.
Strategic Concerns and Demonic Threats
00:02:54
Speaker
And it's meeting time! Those not of the inner circle are politely told to Fuck off! Drago is a little bit worried that the Hells may be watching, and Ghostwing informs the group of the Erythian events involving the Undyne champions all the way up to Delmontrace's reveals. Karstan, in great detail, reveals news of the demons in Dralak.
00:03:16
Speaker
I pretty much summarized it more than he did. Drago and Syanga talk of blistering fires, choking ash and acid shit, and each threshold closer to the citadel somehow strips something from them. It's some sort of physical and mental torture. It's continuous. The avarice citadel was surrounded by legion, unified, masterful, trained. The stain of Tolkelon will not wash away. It's like nothing. you could think of in your darkest nightmares, boys.
00:03:48
Speaker
Red Rook is like, oh, I think I saw a prism hanging from the sky, firing a beam into the light above. That's probably the place you guys need to go. The group plots how to get up to the Steel Nightmare for phase three, and it turns out if Wren can get herself up there, she could probably bring the group up to her. Hmm. If the group kills Urian on the boat crew, Ghostwing might lose a little bit more power, so maybe they keep him alive? I don't know. They could also perhaps use Shondrellicar's eggs as leverage to get her to help. The groups decide on their teams. Team Hell.
00:04:20
Speaker
Emron, Seth, Kostan, Drago, Team Cardenal, Alpha, Bala, Nyx, and Team Nightmare, Wren, and Syangar. Which dragon should they take? Well, perhaps they should ask Shondralakar, maybe ask Valkyraeth how they're going to get up there. And finally, they decide to ask Tilwa some questions, and Bala nominates himself as the person to be asking.
00:04:51
Speaker
As everything you know about Emron begins to pass into something different, light does not simply enter the room. It erupts.
00:05:04
Speaker
Cast down Finbin Valhorn's pocket dimension mansion, this place of velvet shadows, enchanted hearths, murmuring magic, is drowned in this blinding radiance as power tears outwards from Emron's form.
Divine Transformation and Internal Strife
00:05:22
Speaker
Divine force ripples across this sitting room like a tidal wave. Curtains snap. Goblets leap from tables and shatter in chiming bursts.
00:05:33
Speaker
Papers ignite into cinders before dissolving into nothing at all. There is the smell of ozone and incense that floods the air. Sharp.
00:05:44
Speaker
Sacred. At the epicenter of your huddle. Emron, or what he's becoming, His silhouette collapses inward and then expands again as wings of lumens unfurl from his back.
00:06:03
Speaker
Each feather etched in gold. His voice fractures into something layered, harmonic, no longer that singular, northern, however he'd describe it.
00:06:17
Speaker
When he lifts his head, his pupils are gone and replaced by burning fire. Tilwa has arrived. The magic of Karstan's mansion groans in response. Runes along the ceiling begin igniting in this frantic, sort of constellation-like picture.
00:06:37
Speaker
This pocket realm now strains to hold on to this magic that's now bursting inside it. Every enchanted flame bows low.
00:06:49
Speaker
Every sigil flickers. Tilwa turns to all of you and smiles. You have one minute starting now.
00:07:01
Speaker
Nyx detects detect thoughts. And Bile says, we know of the last 12 cycles, Tilwa, and your time on the steel nightmare, and we need your help. yes Please tell me, what do you wish you knew before going up to the Steel Nightmare?
00:07:22
Speaker
I wish I knew how we would stop him. And what did you do wrong last time? Why did you not stop him? He was too powerful.
00:07:33
Speaker
ah What could you have done differently then? Did you say greedy? Sorry. Yes. Yes. Others became greedy. Wisdom 14 saving throw.
00:07:49
Speaker
Passes, I'm afraid. Cool. Are you saying that the group did not hold together? There were different ideas amongst the group going up? There were.
00:08:01
Speaker
What do you know of any weaknesses of Johan Veritas? What do you think would best beat him this time around?
Mission Planning and Role Assignments
00:08:08
Speaker
not them and as his form begins to fade he just summons enough residual power for his finger to extend his arm to reach out and to point at your dragonborn an ally drago what the fuck
00:08:36
Speaker
And then that light absorbs back into Emron's form like a yo-yo returning to the hand
00:08:47
Speaker
and collapsing very briefly onto the floor, catching his breath as though involved in some sort of fever dream. Emron stands back in the room, looking around expectantly for answers.
00:09:07
Speaker
Not them. not Not you. Yeah, i don't like being marginalized like that.
00:09:16
Speaker
You must know that with the dreams, with Emron's dreams, with your dreams, you've you've been up there before. you've They're not dreams, they're the past retold.
00:09:28
Speaker
And Tilwa's just told us that you shouldn't be going up there. Yeah, great. Where the fuck is Tilwa now, then?
00:09:39
Speaker
Usually the power only lasts a short amount of time, hence the quick questions. And one switch it back on. I can't.
00:09:51
Speaker
Right. And what gives someone who is not here the right to say, well, I can and can't go. And Emron, in his kind of fatigued state after returning to his form, just kind of moves himself quite close to Alpha, gets a drink, tries to catch his breath. But he is looks as though he has taken on a significant amount of exhaustion doing that.
00:10:20
Speaker
As he does lot of times, in a few seconds
Reflections on Sacrifice and Camaraderie
00:10:22
Speaker
he's returning. And he looks up to you, Seth. Hang on a minute. Was that fucking useful at all? Do we know anything now we didn't already know?
00:10:32
Speaker
Yes. Yes, some people should not go to certain places, but... We're talking to the person that has memory of the most recent cycle about what went wrong or what they could do differently.
00:10:45
Speaker
Yeah, and if I'm pretty sure, I didn't hear how to kill anything. Like, how do we kill the devil person? How do we destroy the steel nightmare thing? It wasn't about the devil person. It was all about what went on up above. That's the what we came to ask them for, and they've just told us. It it can't be you, and he points to Drago.
00:11:05
Speaker
You can't turn up top. He said they weren't of all the same mind. They they they weren't all decided together. That... That implies there was what, infighting or...?
00:11:16
Speaker
It implies that I need to trust you guys to do a job to which I don't know if all of you are capable of.
00:11:25
Speaker
I don't like being left out. You're not left out. Maybe that's what happened last time.
00:11:33
Speaker
That's true. It wouldn't even be a this time round if I and my group hadn't saved this place once before. I'm really sorry and I mean no disrespect, Drago, but you failed last time.
00:11:48
Speaker
We would not be here successful. blight surrounding you right now? And thank you for that. We didn't The steel nightmare is.
00:12:02
Speaker
right. Let's cut through the bullshit for a minute. think what we need to do is, you know, figure this out.
00:12:13
Speaker
Work around our problems. Drago, you are a soldier. We've got to work this out. So how do we move forward from this?
00:12:24
Speaker
That sounds to me that we just choose the people that Tewar said. I understand the problem.
00:12:33
Speaker
Ghostwing, again, in his kind of weakened form, just kind of steps out of his armchair very gingerly.
00:12:44
Speaker
We'll have a chance to ask more questions tomorrow, is that right? And Emron nods weakly.
00:12:53
Speaker
Perhaps we should think about what those questions should be, but...
00:12:59
Speaker
I imagine Sparrow Ork will return soon. And Alpha, you need to make this artifact. Indeed. We need to give you the time.
00:13:12
Speaker
and those who are going to these various places.
00:13:18
Speaker
Perhaps you should have a chance to converse about your tactics.
00:13:27
Speaker
Tactic one, sail a ship. Tactic two, fuck shit up. Tactic three, kill uion I like that one. Tactic four, sail home. Jobs are good. and Tactic tik five, go up to the sky, save the world.
00:13:44
Speaker
Tactic six, celebrate the fact that we fucking save the world with copious is amount of rum. Savvy?
00:13:56
Speaker
Small print. Get Vossan's armada and let them know that we are heading there and when. Discover which ship contains Uriand.
00:14:08
Speaker
Make sure pocket dimension is working. Ensure that everyone somehow knows exactly the same time to be reaching through said pocket dimension for things to all happen in six seconds.
00:14:19
Speaker
But again, small print. i like I mean, that puts a lot of pressure and stress on the situation, my love. Maybe we should just like, you know, we'll take it, treat it like just the oceans. All right. We're going with the flow.
00:14:31
Speaker
We're going to get there. We're going to do our thing. We're going to get out. It's going to be all good. And we'll, we'll just figure out as we go. Yes to the Fossan thing that we do need to let him know because we need to give him a crown and we're going to have, get this, take this in, take a moment, take a breath, visualize it properly. Visualize it guys. And a martyr.
00:14:50
Speaker
A fucking Armada on the seas. Like, come on. When did we ever think that would happen in our lives? I certainly didn't. And I fucking sailed the seas. This is a huge deal. We need to give him a crown. Yes, but we can deal with that later.
00:15:03
Speaker
Fossan is giving us. I'll say it again. Really take it in. Alpha, listen and put it in your memory banks. That's been fucking malfunctioning recently. An Armada at our command.
00:15:16
Speaker
And Karstan excitingly slaps his kneecaps from his sat position a few times, stands up and says, I agree with Nyx.
00:15:28
Speaker
I suppose I'd better take an audience with this dragon. And in doing so, i better get myself to snake run super fast. So here's what I'm suggesting. Do you have an answer on the Lord Vossan front?
00:15:43
Speaker
And I can hop in with these two vagabonds back to snake runs super quick to make it to Shondralikar in time before you need to depart. But the answer is yes, he has an accord. He gets the crown, we get the armada.
00:16:00
Speaker
As Kastan kind of scans the room for any disagreement.
00:16:07
Speaker
Fantastic. Nyx will then henceforth be called Commodore.
00:16:13
Speaker
Titles, titles, and more titles. It's important. The titles are important. Trust me. I've been a part of this. You need a title. Otherwise, no one will respect you. So if Vosan is really going to do this, it's Commodore, Nyx, Corel.
00:16:27
Speaker
I see. It's one above a captain. I'll convince them on... More of a commander. I will convince them on... Of many. I hear there's many ships.
00:16:38
Speaker
I hear there's so many ships. i I am... I'm hard for it. Now, I need some help ah before I go. I have never conversed with a dragon. Looks over to Ghostwing. I've never conversed with a dragon of this sort before. Chandra LaCarre. What do I need to know?
00:17:00
Speaker
um What makes her tick?
00:17:06
Speaker
Anything I can use, guys. um A lot's riding on this. I can only advise you be cautious, and whatever you do, do not insult her. Okay. Outmost respect.
00:17:17
Speaker
I'm good at that. Very, very scary. I can play that part. We'll eat you. Eat me? Never mind. I've been eaten by worse. Anything else?
00:17:27
Speaker
Ghostwing probably knows her the best. Yes.
Diplomatic Strategies with Chandra LaCarre
00:17:31
Speaker
She has a hatred of the Steel Nightmare. Use that to your advantage. And a little bit of Baal. Like if you wanted to, look, yeah I love you, but I'm just thinking if you wanted to throw Baal under the bus, ah you might gain favor by saying like, oh, that Dragonborn, I don't, I'm not, and I'm just putting things out there. Oh, that Dragonborn's got poor hygiene. I'm not saying that you got poor hygiene. I'm just saying like, if you were to say that, that might be, she might turn around and go, yo this dude is on my level. He don't like Baal. I don't like Baal. We should be frenemies.
00:18:03
Speaker
Or she might say, oh you're on Baal's side. Excellent. Let me just quickly electrocute you. and No, no, no, and and and no, Baal. Like he, he elicits hate speech against you.
00:18:14
Speaker
Like fake news. He's not going in there saying, yo, I love Baal. I want to do unsightly things to him. He's going in there and going, yeah, that Baal's a bit of a cunt. And all of a sudden, you get this kind of connection, right? Carstan, you know this stuff. Come on.
00:18:31
Speaker
Absolutely. Manipulation is the the the game here. so Yeah. I mean, you make it sound more seedy, but yeah. well Well, you've been in company that I've been in, Nick.
00:18:44
Speaker
You need to play every card in your deck. Ha. Deck. So, not in good terms with Balvalcon.
00:18:57
Speaker
and Don't insult. Mention the eggs. Don't mention the eggs. I should mention the eggs. That's my leverage.
00:19:06
Speaker
I don't think you all gave different answers. you all gave different answers Apologies, Bar. You first. You are the more experienced one. Apologies as well. I don't think saying, we've got your eggs, do this, and you can have them back will work. She will kill you and probably follow your scent and then murder the rest of us and take the eggs.
00:19:26
Speaker
And she's the only dragon on Aerith at complete full power right now. So yes, I'm going to best to avoid that kind of outcome. I wonder if returning, well, it's an option, maybe returning the eggs to her initially.
00:19:38
Speaker
A gesture. And not ah say, I'm doing this so that you can help us. But maybe, i mean, I assume you're good with your words. You've written many a book, haven't you? I have. I will try my best, but you're suggesting here the gift approach rather than the leverage?
00:19:56
Speaker
I think so. It looks around the room for any kind of second or consensus to that. Biles, absolutely the one to go for on this one. The story says, man.
00:20:08
Speaker
Again, if you're if you're playing her off against me, you could say that almost like against our judgment, you could say that so something like Baal was considering using them as leverage against you and you in the night took them, knew it was the wrong thing, took them back to her or something like that to ah you know really seal my fate.
00:20:28
Speaker
See, you're learning. I feel like I've had a good influence on you. You wouldn't have thought of anything like that like a couple of months ago. But now look at you, wheeling and dealing and thinking of things to use your imagination brush on. That's a brilliant idea. Carson, totally used that. And if you wanted to say, like, Barl was looking at them, going a little bit hungry-eyed, could have made scrambled eggs out of them, but you stopped Fuck.
00:20:49
Speaker
Like, oh my lord. I think she's going to kill me after this. What? up yeah That... that No, we won't let that happen.
00:21:00
Speaker
ah But that does insinuate there's an after this, which is what we're
Moral Dilemmas and Sacrificial Struggles
00:21:03
Speaker
aiming for, right? Castan nods profusely when you kind of move to that school of thought. and if you can you know that's an That's an after this question. Yeah, protect me from an ancient dragon after this. That would be wonderful, Castan. Castan just gives a no look at Drago like, Castan's not to be able to do that, but someone else might be able to. Now, two things.
00:21:23
Speaker
When I leave here, this place, looks, gestures to his very obsolete mansion, is going to disappear. So you're stuck with, and then kind of rubs his nose at the idea of the keep.
00:21:35
Speaker
Just an FYI. The other thing, by my calculations, this whole thing starts in four days. I'm going to be pretty close to the wire, getting to the southern sands of Dralak and back in four days.
00:21:54
Speaker
What's the plan if I don't return or don't return in time?
00:22:02
Speaker
You're... How... What's the plan to use... Sorry, not use you, but you know what I mean. Use you to get the group to the Hells, Team Hell to the Hells? Correct. And if I'm um burning, eaten, or otherwise incarcerated by Chandra LeCard, or slightly delayed by weather, um what is what is the plan?
00:22:22
Speaker
I guess, and again, pipe in anyone if you wish to, but I guess we send Team Hells over to Dralak, which seems to be, I mean, Hell gates opening up, I'm assuming, with all of the demons pouring through. Maybe use one of those to get down there? I mean, what how did they get there last time?
00:22:39
Speaker
Karstan, you weren't there.
00:22:48
Speaker
ah Are you... Do you mean how did they get to the hells last time? Yeah. Like, if you're worried about not getting here on time to get everyone to the hells, well, how did they get there last time? Like, say you're late, they got to the hells and back.
00:23:04
Speaker
Yes. you I'm sure you could easily find a portal. What I mean is, if Shondralakar is not going to take us into the Steel Nightmare, what is your second c plan? Oh. Ghostwing kind leans into this too.
00:23:18
Speaker
I feel like we don't need a second plan and it's all on your shoulders. Now, the cool thing is I've heard that you've been able to deal with this sort of pressure before. So I'm not going to, you know, sit here and start making another plan while I'm in your presence. I'm going to need you to make another plan, please.
00:23:35
Speaker
Yeah, don't worry about it.
00:23:39
Speaker
If Shondralukar can't, we'll have another means. ive I need to somehow get an audience with Valkyraeth. I need to talk to my brood.
00:23:53
Speaker
I need to do it soon, I suppose. Carstine, you need to keep us informed. I'll do my best. On that note, do you still have... Emron, you were talking about you had stones that connected you through with other people. do we Have we got means of direct communication?
00:24:11
Speaker
The Red Rook steps in. I can help you there.
00:24:18
Speaker
I think if we're planning to have... Kind of goes and handles something into Kastan's hand and then something into your spa. Right.
00:24:31
Speaker
I guess these are going to be the way that we communicate how and when we do the transfer of the pocket dimension thing too, right?
00:24:43
Speaker
I have a few of these, but not many. And whether they work across the hells is it's proven. It's worked.
00:24:58
Speaker
Kastan takes a sharp inhalation of breath.
00:25:03
Speaker
Okay. um Best of luck. I thoroughly wish I see you all again in less than four days' time. ah Alpha, Baal, Nyx.
00:25:19
Speaker
I might miss you. I definitely can't make it back in the time it takes for you to leave.
00:25:27
Speaker
God speeds all of you. Yeah. Yeah. Take care yourself, Caster. And listen, just go in with the right sort of attitude, right? And this is, think about this. Like this is another book for you to write about another verse in your chapter.
Heartfelt Goodbyes and Tactical Preparations
00:25:43
Speaker
Take it as such. Commodore Nix. He smiles at that. But in the smile, you see a lubricant left eye that's blinking.
00:25:59
Speaker
think you've got some conjunctivitis thing going on. You might want it. You ain't got time. Don't worry about it. You look great. Nyx, I'm confident in my abilities to talk my way out of a dragon's lair.
00:26:14
Speaker
Where you three are going.
00:26:23
Speaker
Never mind. And he forces a tear back.
00:26:29
Speaker
I'm sure i will see you all very soon and will feast and dance in memory of such silly, trivial things as the end of the world anyway. And then leaves your huddle and moves straight to Drago.
00:26:45
Speaker
And without any kind of break in a very powerful stride, embraces Drago with a strength that would resemble his own.
00:26:54
Speaker
Yeah, Drago accepts and hugs back and just low for Carsten. Only Carsten here would be, take care of yourself.
00:27:06
Speaker
Akiva will watch over you. Yes, and all the rest, I'm sure. I'm sure.
00:27:14
Speaker
And kind of pushes you away, slaps a hard hand onto Siongar's shoulder, ruffles the head of Wren,
00:27:25
Speaker
doffs a very opulent headpiece from a coat stand in the corner of this common room. And there's a very dramatic theatrical bow to Ghostwing, a second to Red Rook, and just a weary smile towards Alpha.
00:27:50
Speaker
And heads out the door What will happen to the people on the top floor? Are they going to just finally fall?
00:28:00
Speaker
Doesn't hear your comment, but kind of heads in the direction of Vaughn Dan and of Kareem Snake Run.
00:28:11
Speaker
Seth ironically raises his hand. Bye. I'll miss you too Though you didn't fucking say my name. Nice to meet flamboyant man.
00:28:22
Speaker
Have a wonderful time talking to a dragon. Don't get eaten or do. By the time you finish your monologue, Seth, this house is disappearing around you. Oh, shit. and he's going to run back in and fervently try and grab food that he's been eating. This magic is fading. You're filling every pocket you can of drumstick and fruit and cured meats.
00:28:47
Speaker
Where the fuck's that quiche gone?
00:28:52
Speaker
as you're all kind of back in the damp air of the the no longer hailing but wet, um close to midnight ah ah state. And only Baal had been out in these kind of recent hours.
00:29:06
Speaker
What's really staggering is this red light that kind of emanates now out of the steel nightmare. It's no longer this this celestial silver. It is a blood red moon.
00:29:19
Speaker
or what but what fills the sky like a moon. That's no moon. It is a space station.
00:29:29
Speaker
The car stand now takes a seat within the very opulent confines of the wagon of Kareem Snakerun. Snakerun himself heads towards the driving point of this wagon, joined by Lord Vaughndan,
00:29:48
Speaker
A small huddle between the three kind of commences and then a very jubilant look on the two trade princes and a wave back to you and a big thumbs up to from Snake Run to you, Nyx.
00:30:03
Speaker
nick They've left their indentured servants here. And it seems under the instruction of continuing much the same, of making this place look clean, anddoing undoing the goblin gooism that has kind of plagued this area. um And the three of them travel very speedily on camel and cart back towards the Dralak sands.
00:30:26
Speaker
It is approaching midnight. What do the rest of you do?
00:30:33
Speaker
I'm not sure if it was the best idea to send the guy who made that house off on his travels.
00:30:42
Speaker
This will be fine. I've slept in worse. Just don't tell anyone about the slaves. What, you've slept in slaves? No, no. but that They're still working and he'll go all holier than Akiva or God knows who else.
00:30:56
Speaker
Got you. I took a different meaning to you've slept in worse. Okay, so I'm going to... up What do you mean? I'll need you to explain that comment, Nick, because I don't fully understand it.
00:31:09
Speaker
I will use a book that I use to learn about such things. And ah I will take you on that magical journey, my friend. You just hold my hand. Probably not now.
00:31:20
Speaker
lot things going on. Tomorrow? Nah, no, no, no. It's not nighttime reading because then you won't sleep. You'll be... Then in the morning? Me and you in the morning teach you about the birds and the bees.
00:31:32
Speaker
I didn't ask about any birds and bees. You said about being in...
00:31:39
Speaker
So I'm going to and sleep. Yeah, I'm going to go this way. I'm going to go the opposite way, but it's not on you. It's not it's nothing awkward. Good night. and as you will fan out to various parts of Goldport Keep, I imagine Baal and Nyx close together.
00:32:00
Speaker
anyone have anything they want to say before ah they move into a period of of long rest while they still the time? Yes, Baal. Yeah, well, Baal's being kind of called after what he's been doing is as they've all been kind of shunted out the house, he's been trying to gather as many of the golden dragonborns as he Most is sleeping. It's close to midnight. Were they inside the house? They have maiden encampment outside of the key. I'm with you.
00:32:23
Speaker
But it's okay it's very late. Okay. Yeah. In which case, yeah, he'll he'll note that and kind of nod himself and follow Nick's to some piss-stained shit room. I mean, we're going to clean it up first, right? Okay.
00:32:36
Speaker
We have standards. I have standards. Look at you. No, no, no. I have standards too. I was just gutted that we didn't get to do rest of the room. Of course you have standards. Look at me. We missed several rooms in the mansion. I didn't even get to Carstine's bedroom. I know. i know. That's why I said we shouldn't have sent him away so quick. But there's only one chance of one room for one talkative character in this whole fucking story. So I don't mind that he's gone, to be honest. Come on, let's go.
00:33:01
Speaker
Yeah, he'll follow. And everyone moves into the period of a long rest now. I've got one more character that would like to speak. Alpha.
00:33:13
Speaker
Yes? When you start to make this shit.
00:33:19
Speaker
I will sufficiently rest or recharge myself this evening. And from what I remember, you don't need to rest. I need to put myself into what is called a... Overnight working ethic. Yes, you do.
00:33:33
Speaker
Do you need a hand? No, I do not believe so. I appreciate the offer, but... And i'm going to start now?
00:33:46
Speaker
I could, if you wish. Yes. um The entire fate of the world wishes.
00:33:57
Speaker
Farewell. no um No standby mode. I shall begin crafting the ah very intricate and delicate device immediately.
00:34:08
Speaker
The device to save the world. Yes, that one.
00:34:13
Speaker
Okay, you... You understand how important this task is? Indeed.
00:34:24
Speaker
Okay, and there's nothing I can do to help?
00:34:28
Speaker
With all due respect, as I said, it's rather delicate and... I feel more company, not just yourself, would be more of a hindrance to my progress than anything else.
00:34:40
Speaker
Right, and your metal things can move delicately. It is more of a magical orientation than a dexterous one. Say no more.
00:34:54
Speaker
don't fuck with magic. um I can leave you then to do this? Absolutely. And how long will it take?
00:35:06
Speaker
I believe a couple of days if I recall correctly. Potentially longer if certain bits are more intricate than I initially think from the plans, but I should have enough time before we leave.
00:35:20
Speaker
It sounds like you have two days before you leave with your group.
00:35:25
Speaker
I do believe so. Everything goes according to plan, then I should be fine.
Restless Night and Existential Reflections
00:35:33
Speaker
If I am in need of assistance. There is potentially Emron I could also ask.
00:35:41
Speaker
I'm going to level view. I don't care what you need. I care that we get it done.
00:35:52
Speaker
Yes, it is most pivotal to our plans. There we go. Okay.
00:36:02
Speaker
Drago will turn and walk off. I still love Drago after all these years. As you you kind of scan around Alpha, that exchange with a little bit of tension, you do see Emron
00:36:23
Speaker
setting down a ah kind of bedroll in the smithy itself, having prepared the forge for the morning. Firewood has been ah gathered to start the emberization process. Coal has been loaded. Everything you would do to get this forge ready for a full day's work tomorrow has kind of been primed. And emberon has kind of collapsed. Then nearby also being incredibly warm there too.
00:36:54
Speaker
He is poised, really, to be on hand to do a lot of this grunt work for them the more delicate work that you will need to enact.
00:37:06
Speaker
I think after the conversation with Drago, Alpha might feel potentially a little bit more... Not pressure, but kind of motivation, perhaps, in a threatened manner.
00:37:20
Speaker
um It's like, you get this shit done, or that is, I'm going to come for you. um So, yeah, probably against Alpha's initial judgment. If Emron's resting, the fire's going, if nothing else, is going to be a peaceful, quiet, serenity type of moment to get the straight started on it.
00:37:46
Speaker
Then you intend to work through the night.
00:37:50
Speaker
Yeah, why not? Can you make constitution a saving throw for me? Oh yeah, let's fucking go, Overtime is hit. Crunch.
00:38:01
Speaker
do the Constitution saving. First roll. and give yourself Have you got inspiration? Let's make this thing work. Fuck yeah! That's what I'm talking about. You work through the night unbroken, unfocused and avoid a point of exhaustion.
00:38:17
Speaker
Fuck yes. While everyone else is sleeping.
00:38:24
Speaker
One person, however, is prevented from having restful sleep.
00:38:31
Speaker
Drago. Your first night back on Aerith, having returned shaken. You go to bed with thoughts of how terrifying the experience of the last 24 hours has been, ah how it still has impacted your brother and the Red Rooker, Ren less so, but but those two particularly heavily.
00:39:04
Speaker
harsh mixtures of patterns, grey, white, and black. You feel cold.
00:39:13
Speaker
But in that, an incredible warmth is evoked within you as you know that this is the way in which you communicate with Akiva.
00:39:25
Speaker
And Akiva is pulling you back to him.
00:39:31
Speaker
No form is taken. This is entirely kind of seen through this static field.
00:39:43
Speaker
but whispers surround you in this half awake half asleep state.
00:40:05
Speaker
I was in the house. I could not find you. Your absence was noted.
00:40:20
Speaker
Will you return there?
00:40:26
Speaker
Yeah, he takes a beat before replying. yeah I'm needed to go back.
00:40:37
Speaker
I understand why.
00:40:45
Speaker
But I do not wish to lose you again.
00:40:50
Speaker
Find a way stay connected then. It would be most welcome. Trust me.
00:41:08
Speaker
I need to amplify my reach.
00:41:14
Speaker
I need a lot of souls to do that.
Defiance Against Sacrificial Demands
00:41:24
Speaker
Akifa, we have worked together long enough for you to know i hate wishy-washy mystical bullshit.
00:41:36
Speaker
Tell me what it is you need up front.
00:41:41
Speaker
I cannot lose you, Dragoo.
00:41:50
Speaker
If I have any chance to stay connected to you in that realm, I need to be more powerful.
00:42:03
Speaker
I need more souls I can spend, and I can break, i can use.
00:42:13
Speaker
There are many around you who are important, I understand
00:42:19
Speaker
There are many in that keep whose life is forfeit.
00:42:30
Speaker
never asked you to act in any way. But
00:42:48
Speaker
To stay with me when you return to the vile plane.
00:42:58
Speaker
You will need to sacrifice something.
00:43:10
Speaker
I am not strong enough.
00:43:16
Speaker
You're asking me? Me. to sacrifice souls to you so that I could have you join me in a place where I managed to return without you,
00:43:37
Speaker
do not like it. I do not want it. They are not ready. They have life still. but I cannot see any other the way to get to you in that unholy place.
00:43:59
Speaker
Trust me, my old friend.
00:44:03
Speaker
I would welcome your presence.
00:44:10
Speaker
And I don't say that lightly.
00:44:14
Speaker
But we saved Aerith
00:44:19
Speaker
didn and didn't sacrifice souls to do so before. I'm not about to start doing it now.
00:44:34
Speaker
you are my champion.
00:44:41
Speaker
But where you go next, you go without me.
00:44:47
Speaker
I only wish I was stronger.
00:44:54
Speaker
Well... I guess we're gonna find out how strong I am.
00:45:06
Speaker
You've heard of this Tolgallon.
00:45:12
Speaker
You've heard... of his kin.
00:45:21
Speaker
I've defeated one of his own before.
00:45:27
Speaker
He will not suffer you.
00:45:32
Speaker
That was his brother.
00:45:38
Speaker
If he sees you, if he knows you are there,
00:45:43
Speaker
he will kill you.
00:45:49
Speaker
As Drago slightly smiles.
00:45:54
Speaker
Then it will be a glorious battle and he can feel my rage.
00:46:11
Speaker
Saddened that I might not see you at the end of times.
Embracing Fate and Independence
00:46:24
Speaker
Even if I was to die.
00:46:30
Speaker
It's a sacrifice I'm willing to make. I should have died a long time ago. Others... Have unfortunately died for me.
00:46:43
Speaker
We're gonna find out if it's my time.
00:46:48
Speaker
All those who died in service to you, Drago. They spend eternity here among us.
00:47:01
Speaker
Should you fall in the vile plane, I cannot recover you.
00:47:12
Speaker
Your soul will be lost to the abyss. Your afterlife is silent. Your service
00:47:29
Speaker
Drogo's brow furrows at that re of revelation. And he does an audible swallow this big dragonborn gullet.
00:47:43
Speaker
He shifts his head one way to crick his neck, then back the other And does a 360 motion with it. Almost like he's trying to dispel tension that has just come unbidden into his shoulders.
00:47:59
Speaker
And just takes a moment, closes his eyes, takes a deep breath.
00:48:05
Speaker
My fate will be what it will be. to die in battle, if that's the will of it.
00:48:16
Speaker
There's glory to be found. And there always has been. Even if my soul doesn't rest peacefully, my essence
00:48:40
Speaker
his final act was to nominate a new disciple.
00:48:45
Speaker
Before he died, he chose you.
00:48:55
Speaker
Do not leave me alone.
00:49:01
Speaker
You want me to give your amulet to someone before I go back to the hells?
00:49:13
Speaker
Sacrifice these souls. Let me protect you. Let me find you. If you fall.
00:49:23
Speaker
I didn't come this far to become someone else. I will go about it my way.
00:49:35
Speaker
And if I walk towards death, it will be because I alone walk this path.
00:49:49
Speaker
My choice. Always.
00:49:57
Speaker
I will see to it but you won't be left alone Aerith still needs you
New Beginnings and Readiness for Adventure
00:50:11
Speaker
you will have a champion already have one and the next thing you wake to is Dawn Dawn however for Seth for Baal for Alpha for Nyx for Emron for Tharok comes with another boon
00:50:48
Speaker
it comes with a new level oh yes yeah please but Those who aren't here right now, they don't get it, right? Yeah, so you get their levels.
00:51:02
Speaker
Wait, shit, Nyx gets another level? Fuck that guy. What you mean fuck that guy? You are fucking that guy. Well, no, that's what I mean. But Alpha, as you work through the night tier, you still get the the benefit of the level up. No.
00:51:19
Speaker
Your timer as well deducts by another day. And it is now 41 days, I believe, until the alignment in your count.
00:51:34
Speaker
But everyone else, for the remainder of the episode and the week in between, you can consider what you're doing for your level up. ah Let me know if impacts anything for the remainder of what we're doing today.
00:51:48
Speaker
It is the new dawn, it is the new day. Karstan seemingly has crossed the border you you imagine and is now approaching snake run.
00:52:04
Speaker
Unlike the very welcome, comfortable spaces that exist in Karstan's magical mansion, you awake to cold, hard, shit-smelling halls of snake run keep once gold port keep altha you have spent the night with emerald while you spent there out a night alone working in the smithy these giant pieces of parchment with reigns's hand
00:52:38
Speaker
With calculations, reins never arrived at before. this is This is definitely the work of a more mature reins that you are seeing, a more proficient reins that you never got to meet, guiding you.
00:52:53
Speaker
Though you don't quite understand elements of it. It's a lot of trial and error, fusing these things, combining these articles. Trial and error, trial and error.
00:53:09
Speaker
But as you work through the night, you make good progress and then you are aided by your other father, Emran. As he's able to find more heat in the forge, he's able to strike metallic artifacts with more precision than you. He is able to evoke divine resources to kind of empower special components.
00:53:38
Speaker
Seth, you awaken first to the sound of two of your friends.
00:53:50
Speaker
It sounds like a warehouse is blaring behind you, but it is Alpha and Emron, hard at work.
00:53:59
Speaker
You scan around this common room in Snake Run, once Goldport Keep. The spooning of Nyx and Baal as they try to keep warm together.
00:54:10
Speaker
The snoring of Tharok.
00:54:15
Speaker
Friends of the winged watch. Huddling. Bedrolls. Makeshift spaces of sleep. These near 40 bodies around you.
00:54:28
Speaker
What do you do amongst all this? How does the day start?
00:54:35
Speaker
So takes it in by firstly fishing out the last of the biscuits or soft cheesed items that he'd stolen from Karsthan's man mansion and consume them for breakfast.
00:54:49
Speaker
He'd take a couple of deep breaths of the shit smelling air and smile because this wrongness is so right.
00:55:03
Speaker
And this precipice of change and danger is his home. And for the first time in a very long time, on the eve of battle approaching, he feels the excitement, the thrill, the urge overtake him slightly. And he feels like he did before at all when he could feel properly.
00:55:29
Speaker
He'd probably scratch the base of his missing eye a little bit, it itches usually in the mornings more than anything else. And then awkwardly look at Nixon, Biles, spooning and quietly mutter under his breath something about, you know, the cold weather or um something, something, something like that. Literally saying something, something, something, and then walking away, standing around and probably just watching...
00:55:57
Speaker
silently watching ah Alpha and Emron deep in industry, not offering to help in any way and not looking to be asked upon to help and probably not even noticed by Alpha and Emron, but just appreciating talent where talent is seen and um enjoying that there's purpose for every everyone.
00:56:21
Speaker
It seems to be that everyone has a purpose. Everyone has a goal now, a clear goal. And Seth is all about clear goals. Val and Nix, their goal is to live live on for each other in his eyes.
00:56:37
Speaker
Alpha, it's to make this thing. And for Emron, it's to continue to be confusing about morals and make things as well, maybe. And that's fine. That's fine for Seth. And he kind of enjoys that. He knows that he knows them now and he knows their things.
00:56:54
Speaker
And, um, I think you just take some time in some manual labor, just cleaning, sorting, maybe goes to one of the spare ah rooms that haven't been touched for a while by any of the the indentured.
00:57:08
Speaker
And maybe would help them by help, you know, if there's,
00:57:15
Speaker
upturned tables or whatever in in spaces or just the rooms had have been absolutely ransacked by the goblins. He'd go in and just silently lend a hand and help alongside for an hour or so and then move on to the next, wipe his hands down on some cloth and clean something down. But just enjoying being busy with his hands without the the the the threat right now of combat looming. but the the enjoyment of knowing it's coming, the enjoyment of being able to to make a change like those that he has seen, like those that up until now he's played very cool around in the company of the likes of Drago, whom he watched slay Grazit.
00:57:53
Speaker
in the, in his own thoughtful dying moments, watched this dragonborn save in his mind, the world, and still has refused to speak to him because of the fear of meeting your idols and would, would yeah, enjoy the simplicity of cleaning and they enjoy the simplicity of manual labor. Danny, it's a very long way of saying he does fuck all.
00:58:17
Speaker
I think it doesn't sound like it's fuck all. And certainly when you're kind of working through that over the course of the morning, being the first one up, like the scenes of a house party being the first one to kind of approach the kitchen sink ah and kind of up with the lark almost.
00:58:37
Speaker
You get through a few hours of this before most of your party begin to stir. And certainly having spent the last half a year almost,
00:58:50
Speaker
solely reliant on your magics and your, your, uh, temporary enforced abyssal companion in Nidhra'far being your voice, being your, you your, your, uh, only form of kind of verbal communication.
00:59:15
Speaker
There's a restful solitude in just contributing to a cause in just, we need to make this place clean and I need to be part of a community. And and and you fall into a rhythm for a couple of hours that makes you incredibly happy really by the time you sit and reflect.
00:59:33
Speaker
And after a few hours of it, you kind of pour yourself a a flagon of water maybe you sit facing a wall that's now considerably cleaner or detoxing or perhaps you you you attempted to de-sludge one of the pools or perhaps just an element of was once all of Goldport's heraldry, but prior to that, Sleek Guardian heraldry is just kind of cleaned and preserved and re-erected in in the the campus, in the site that is is want was once Goldport keep, now Snake Run keep.
01:00:12
Speaker
And I imagine during this, when you're just kind of taking ah a breath, a stretch and some water, you're perched against kind of machinery or construction equipment,
01:00:25
Speaker
And you reach down to grab that flagon of water once again, and another hand, subtly, deftly, and quickly moves into view, sits beside you, and holds up for you first.
01:00:44
Speaker
You don't even need to turn. You don't even need to look.
01:00:50
Speaker
The presence and aura of this person alone, you know instantly who it is.
01:01:00
Speaker
A Sebastian Sleetgaard or Sparrowhawk
01:01:05
Speaker
holds this sideways to you, not seeking eye contact, but recognizes an exhausted and thirsty individual having a moment's pause.
01:01:20
Speaker
And it's only broken by the whatever this sound of a horse is as he ties his horse to the same piece of equipment you're both perched upon.
01:01:40
Speaker
seth he does He doesn't move to say anything. Okay. And Seth would ah fight the urge to stand up and but return to soldier form and salute or at least hold himself to chin.
01:01:54
Speaker
And there'd be like an impulse to move and then it comes and then instead he reaches for the drink and doesn't rip it from his hands but takes it with kind of a that's mine. feel to it but not not and you know just start i'm drinking kind way you know takes the guy takes the flag and and again doesn't make eye contact and this is going to be a very very stereotypical masculine conversation i can feel it coming already no feelings no feelings not looking at each other um very little context um but brutal honesty and yeah he'll gesture towards the horse bless you um
01:02:33
Speaker
always always wondered if that is like how they sneeze.
01:02:39
Speaker
I'll say bless you anyway. I never even named this horse.
01:02:45
Speaker
I've had it for like 10 years. If that.
01:02:50
Speaker
This is my horse.
01:02:53
Speaker
If you name it, becomes personal. And then when it dies, it hurts.
01:03:08
Speaker
Danny, what's the weather like this morning? It's warm.
01:03:14
Speaker
For the first time in three days, it's not hailing, it's not overcast, there aren't grey skies. You're feeling the sun.
01:03:24
Speaker
Seth would kind of look his head up a little bit and like a lizard almost just turn his scarred and wretched palms up to the sun and just kind of close his eye and just take in a few beams and you know the sweat is kind of pouring not pouring but just kind of beating on his face slightly from the day from the morning's labor just take a deep breath in and kind of feel that feel the warmth the kind of of the golden sun on him for a minute and wait for Sebastian to speak next. He's not going force it but he'll just wait as long as he needs.
01:04:01
Speaker
And you pair sit or lean in silence for near 15 minutes before anything is said. You're very much taking in the morning sun and you sense that he is too.
01:04:19
Speaker
And there is this sense of contentment.
01:04:25
Speaker
Until eventually...
01:04:34
Speaker
one thing never occurred to me.
01:04:42
Speaker
You're not a sleek guardian.
01:04:50
Speaker
You're an immigrant.
01:04:55
Speaker
One day you decided,
01:05:01
Speaker
don't give a shit about my lot. I'm gonna go over there. I'm gonna go over there and make a change there.
01:05:14
Speaker
That's not a common thing.
01:05:29
Speaker
He sighs, long deep sigh, and racks his brain, his little autistic brain, for a metaphor.
01:05:47
Speaker
takes a breath in and
01:05:50
Speaker
a few times of trying to formulate his thoughts.
01:05:57
Speaker
Have you ever listened to a song that you start, you hear the first fucking bit refrain and you just know that's your song.
01:06:13
Speaker
That almost you've heard it before, but you haven't heard it before.
01:06:20
Speaker
You know how it's going to go and and you love it because it's safe. Or you walk into a a person's house and it's laid out and it's in a nice way and you think this is a lovely place.
01:06:37
Speaker
This is right. This is how a house should be laid out.
01:06:42
Speaker
Or you go to a new tavern and you have your meal and it has all the bits you like. Hard, crunchy gruel. it has your, you know, your pickles, your dried herring, all the bits you like, stale bread.
01:07:00
Speaker
Beautiful. Laid out on a plate. Just in the right places.
01:07:08
Speaker
I never had that at home. It felt odd. I didn't like it there. It wasn't my choice. And the moment I had the chance to leave, I'm not going to lie, it was by chance.
01:07:23
Speaker
The next boat was Sleetgaard, Goldview. I thought there's a start. Work my way west. Work my way back east after. If it didn't work there, Obsidia was my next call and go to the Sanguine Lands.
01:07:41
Speaker
But I didn't need it. I landed on the docks and some woman came up to me, flustered, asking for help. I felt useful straight away.
01:07:55
Speaker
um I just had a string of good encounters with lovely people whom I could help I felt useful. Yeah, don't get me wrong, there are lots of cunts in Goldie, but the ones I met at first, they were good people, nice people.
01:08:11
Speaker
They didn't care of how I looked or where I was from. All they saw was, this is a good man. That's all I am. Well, that's all I want to be.
01:08:25
Speaker
It felt right, Your Majesty, if I'm being honest. It felt like it was the place I was supposed to be born in.
01:08:38
Speaker
And he scratches his temple and then in an aggressive motion then rubs his eye to try and conceal the fact that he would need an awful high insight to see that he has slightly teared up.
01:09:06
Speaker
he never looked back
01:09:12
Speaker
once decided it might be better if I went home.
01:09:20
Speaker
What now? Not at all. Here I've got the chance to make a difference. Back then? Before all this? Before the blight? No. When you've been homeless, not that I was homeless, but I'm trying to make a metaphor here.
01:09:36
Speaker
When you've been homeless, you don't pine for the streets. You don't wish to be kicked by the people or chase the rabbit dog or beg for scraps.
01:09:48
Speaker
You enjoy what you have. I'm in my home with my fire burning, food in my belly and drink in my hand. I don't think of the streets, and therefore I don't think of
01:10:09
Speaker
Very swift inhalation through his nose. You can kind of hear the moisture in his sinuses from from something.
01:10:28
Speaker
It's taken me a while. It's taken me a while to find the conclusion that someone
01:10:42
Speaker
willingly forsake everything that they knew, that they were born into. moved to the other side of Erith and said, this is a place I can call home. This is a place where I belong.
01:11:13
Speaker
doubt after all you've sacrificed,
01:11:22
Speaker
for this kingdom.
01:11:28
Speaker
To doubt your judgment in a conclusive moment for this kingdom.
01:11:43
Speaker
You are faced with an impossible decision.
01:11:53
Speaker
And I never, until now,
01:11:59
Speaker
stopped to think about everything you had given up.
01:12:05
Speaker
Because something about this stupid country seemed right to you.
01:12:20
Speaker
I don't know if I'll ever forgive this, but I don't know if I ever need to.
01:12:31
Speaker
wouldn't hold it against you.
01:12:35
Speaker
Sorry. You fought my father.
01:12:41
Speaker
And you believed there was no other conclusion in that moment.
01:12:49
Speaker
a man who wasn't born of Sleetgard, but is more Sleetgardian than i even, I think, that have served this country, that has near died, that has been permanently dismembered in service to this kingdom, who saw fealty to that king.
01:13:11
Speaker
And in that moment, you know the right thing was to not let him continue.
01:13:22
Speaker
And when I arrive at that, I'm at complete peace and full of nothing but apology
01:13:37
Speaker
for some of the thoughts I've had about taking your life in recent days, Seth.
01:13:53
Speaker
None of those thoughts are wrong because this I've thought about that myself as well. But at that time, in that place, yeah you weren't there.
01:14:11
Speaker
can't tell you what it was like. And if I can, you still won't fully understand because I'm shit at explaining stuff. Maybe we'll get that but you're not that the one back. You have a compass.
01:14:24
Speaker
You have the strength of my sister and the wisdom of my brother. And you knew in that moment that this was the course of action. All I knew, your highness, was that the house that I loved and was comfortable in and um was my home was on fire.
01:14:45
Speaker
And the only way to stop it from burning was to put out the fire. if we left him there, we would have just continued to change the window, fix the carpet, change the straw, and it would have continued to burn.
01:15:03
Speaker
And that moment at that time, and I did not enter that room with that in mind,
01:15:10
Speaker
I broke my oath on your father. And I hope that means something that It was momentous enough.
01:15:26
Speaker
It meant that much to me and I knew how much it would mean to you. And I don't want your forgiveness, Your Highness. I would never forgive me.
01:15:38
Speaker
I probably won't forgive myself given the bigger oath I have laid down for Sleetgaard to then kill the king of that country, to kill the king of that kingdom.
01:15:51
Speaker
Oh, it's the highest hypocrisy. And maybe history will smile on me. Maybe not if I die in the devil in the depths below.
01:16:05
Speaker
But all I had was the gods in front of me and the people around me. And we were as one of agreement that that was all we could do or die.
01:16:19
Speaker
And I did not want to die in that place at that time.
01:16:28
Speaker
As I said, i don't I don't seek your forgiveness. I never will. I hope you will hate me a little bit for the rest of our days. Because I deserve that for what I've done from one man to another.
01:16:48
Speaker
But no, we share that same family now in Sleetgott. And I will do my damnedest. I will give my life to make that happen if I can.
01:17:02
Speaker
And if it involves going to the hells with a beefy, bearded, sweating man from the other side of the kingdoms, and slaying a devil or whatever the shit we have to do, I really should listen, you know, ah so be it.
01:17:20
Speaker
But I will play my part. Yeah, so what? We might save the world. Good for the world. As long as Sleetgaard is somewhat what it was before, that's all I need.
01:17:35
Speaker
I just need my house and my bed.
01:17:42
Speaker
I'm afraid you're going to have a bit more than that, Seth.
01:17:48
Speaker
And he reaches into his traveling cloak pocket and hands you a scroll, sealed, emblazoned with a ring, a sigil, a sigil that currently actually you have in your pocket.
01:18:09
Speaker
but is also on the ring of Sebastian Sleetgaard. i oh To whom my delivering this letter is... This is he and not a delivery, this is addressed to you.
01:18:23
Speaker
I... I am your courier, Seth, it would seem.
01:18:31
Speaker
I don't understand.
01:18:35
Speaker
You mentioned oaths.
01:18:42
Speaker
I take a sigh and with a furrowed whole brow? Yeah, he has a whole brow. A furrowed brow and with a very measure, he pulls out ah a um small dagger from his pocket and very calmly, but with some finesse, just breaks the seal from underneath, leaving it fully intact.
01:19:05
Speaker
Takes a second and then opens the scroll. Letter. Letter.
01:19:12
Speaker
It is handwritten.
01:19:17
Speaker
It reads, Let it be known to all who read this parchment by torchlight and oath-bound steel, by crown and council, by the ancient accords of realm and lineage, that on this day,
01:19:37
Speaker
under what under under the watchful eyes of the four gods, and the kingdom of Sleekard. Honor is bestowed and a name is written into the roles of history.
01:19:52
Speaker
Seth Ferreriva of Empire Hentis, child of mortal blood. You have walked where others faltered. You have stood when retreat would have been easier.
01:20:06
Speaker
You have raised blade and will not for glory, but in defense of this kingdom.
01:20:16
Speaker
Your courage has been measured, your loyalty weighed, your mercy witnessed and your resolve endured.
01:20:30
Speaker
Therefore, by lawful authority of the ver of the throne of Sleetgaard, and by the consent of those sworn to its banners, I do hereby recognise you as a knight of this realm, and grant you the title henceforth, Sir Seth Ferrareva.
01:20:54
Speaker
Bear this name as a shield as much as a sword. Let it temper your wrath and sharpen your justice. Let it remind you that power is never owned, only carried for a time in trust.
01:21:10
Speaker
Signed, Queen Helena Sleetgaard.
01:21:17
Speaker
And that's where gonna end.
01:21:22
Speaker
