Speaker: Hey guys, welcome back to the Stayin' Smiley pod.

Speaker: Today we have a really special guest.

Speaker: It's me, the famous Kylie O' Black's boyfriend.

Speaker: Say your name.

Speaker: Oh, my name's Luke.

Speaker: And yeah, we're going to kick it off now and have a really good podcast.

Speaker: And this was a highly requested podcast.

Speaker: So get ready for a good time.

Speaker: So I'm guessing most of you guys probably follow me on Instagram at Kylie Run Smiley.

Speaker: And if you do, you definitely see a whole lot of my boyfriend on my page.

Speaker: His name is Luke.

Speaker: We met at school.

Speaker: I'll get into the full story.

Speaker: But yeah, we're together a lot.

Speaker: And a lot of you guys ask me so many questions about him, about how we met, about what we are like together.

Speaker: So I'm

Speaker: I thought we would just dive into it by making an episode.

Speaker: I actually even asked for listener questions and we've got a whole long list of them.

Speaker: So I'm really excited to record this and thank you, Lukey, for being a trooper.

Speaker: Yeah, I mean, I feel like I've become a bit of a celebrity on the Instagram after getting highlighted quite a lot.

Speaker: Whenever we like, we'll see people together that Kylie knows, they'll be like so shocked to see me like in person and that like I'm actually real.

Speaker: So, yeah, excited to speak to everyone.

Speaker: I remember when I met my current freshman teammates for the first time on campus last year, like a group of four group of them came up to me and they're like, oh, my God, like we feel like we're seeing a celebrity right now for the first time because it was the first time they were meeting me.

Speaker: But that wasn't why they were excited.

Speaker: They were like freaking out because they saw Luke playing soccer and they feel like they literally are like starstruck over him.

Speaker: So that was really silly.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I mean, sometimes I'll like see people staring at me and I'm like, who is this person staring at me?

Speaker: And then they'll come up to me like, you're Kylie's boyfriend, right?

Speaker: And I'm like, yeah.

Speaker: So, yeah.

Speaker: So as I said earlier, you guys gave me so many listener questions that we won't even be able to get to all of them.

Speaker: But I just want to put it out there.

Speaker: I know what all of these questions are.

Speaker: Luke has no idea.

Speaker: So this will be really fun for me.

Speaker: And I hope for you guys too.

Speaker: Be warned.

Speaker: Be warned, Luke.

Speaker: So I think a pretty natural question to start with and something that so many people ask me is, how did we meet and what was our first impression of the other person?

Speaker: So maybe I'll start by giving my experience and my first impression and then he can take it from there.

Speaker: So for those of you guys who don't know, Luke and I go to college together.

Speaker: We go to Hamilton College and I'm actually the grade above Luke.

Speaker: I think that's an important detail.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: And anyways, so I'm an econ major and a math minor.

Speaker: Like those are my classes, numbers classes.

Speaker: And going into my sophomore year, my twin brother, who also goes to school with me, he said, we should take like an easy A class together.

Speaker: Let's take theater.

Speaker: And by the way,

Speaker: not an easy A. It's a lot harder than you would think.

Speaker: Anyways, we were taking it kind of as a joke class with a few of our other friends.

Speaker: And I remember it was like literally the first day of class my sophomore year, we get to class, we have class outside because it's during COVID.

Speaker: And we're literally sitting like in a circle underneath the tent.

Speaker: And this boy walks to the circle and he sits down and I'm immediately like, who is this kid?

Speaker: Because

Speaker: He was holding like a water bottle that you would have been given from our athletic trainer.

Speaker: So I knew he had to be an athlete, but I didn't recognize him.

Speaker: So I figured he was probably a freshman.

Speaker: Anyways.

Speaker: We start class.

Speaker: It's a theater class.

Speaker: And the teacher goes, all right, well, raise your hand if you're an athlete.

Speaker: And so it was me and my brother and our friends.

Speaker: And everybody else had their hands down except for this one kid.

Speaker: This kid ended up being, for those of you guys who can't pick up what I'm saying.

Speaker: Anyways, then we all lower our hands.

Speaker: He goes, all right, now raise your hand if you've done theater.

Speaker: And so basically everybody else in the class except for me, my brother, and our friends raised their hands.

Speaker: And again, this mystery boy also raised his hand.

Speaker: And that like immediately caught my attention because I was like, all right, he's an athlete and he does theater like or he's done theater.

Speaker: This is interesting to me and like was blowing my suburban girl's brain.

Speaker: Anyways, we break into this icebreaker activity and my professor goes, all right, pair up with somebody who you don't know prior to coming into this class.

Speaker: And so my twin brother and Luke actually end up pairing up.

Speaker: And it's this activity where you act as if you're the other person.

Speaker: So like my brother impersonating Luke was like, hi guys, I'm Luke.

Speaker: I'm from New York City.

Speaker: My favorite movie is Good Will Hunting and I'm on the soccer team here, et cetera, et cetera.

Speaker: And let me just say, one of the questions was, what's your relationship status?

Speaker: So I learned through my brother that Luke was single.

Speaker: I'm just going to put that out there.

Speaker: They have this activity.

Speaker: I think Luke sounds really cool for what my brother said.

Speaker: I thought Luke did a really good job impersonating my brother.

Speaker: It was really funny.

Speaker: And I appreciated that.

Speaker: And yeah, of course, I thought Luke was also really cute.

Speaker: Anyways, class ends from the first day and my brother comes up to me and he goes, I think you'd really like this Luke kid.

Speaker: And that was my first impression.

Speaker: And yes, I was definitely interested.

Speaker: Well, I feel like I've told you this, but I think we have a different first when we first saw each other's story.

Speaker: because I first saw you like looking for the classroom, the theater classroom, because it was originally listed as like some auditorium inside the building.

Speaker: And so I'm a freshman.

Speaker: It's literally my first day of classes.

Speaker: I'm looking around and I can't find this classroom and I can't find anyone like in the classroom that we're supposed to have it in.

Speaker: So I'm looking around and we're on the second floor of KTSA, which is the theater building.

Speaker: And I see this cute girl and this guy walking together on the second floor too.

Speaker: It's Johnny.

Speaker: And I'm like, and we're both really confused.

Speaker: We're all looking around really confused.

Speaker: And Kylie asks me, like, do you know where we're supposed to go or something like that?

Speaker: And I'm like, no, like I'm trying to find it too.

Speaker: And finally, somehow we discover like kind of collectively that we're supposed to be downstairs outside.

Speaker: And so we go outside and

Speaker: And this entire time I'm thinking, wow, this girl is really cute, but too bad she has a boyfriend because I thought that she was dating Johnny because they were like, you know, they were walking together.

Speaker: I don't know.

Speaker: I was just...

Speaker: naive freshman.

Speaker: So I thought she had a boyfriend and it was her twin brother.

Speaker: And then, yeah, when we were, you know, starting the activity and stuff like that, I found out that they were twins because we were doing like the roll call and everything.

Speaker: And they both had the same last name and they're like, yeah, we're twins, whatever.

Speaker: And I was like, oh, okay, this, this changes things.

Speaker: And, um, yeah.

Speaker: And then like Kylie just said, we, we did that activity.

Speaker: I thought like, I still thought she was super cute.

Speaker: And I thought like her answers were really funny and like,

Speaker: She had the silly laugh that I liked.

Speaker: And and then I had to miss a class, a couple classes down the road because of a soccer game.

Speaker: Well, I'm I'm skipping a bunch right now.

Speaker: I'm skipping some build up right now.

Speaker: But essentially, I started to get the idea that Kylie, you know, was interested in me a little bit.

Speaker: um just by the way she was you know flirting and laughing at my jokes by flirting i mean i was laughing when he was trying to cheat on a pop quiz but yes i was i was yes i was working it wasn't just that um and she was laughing a lot harder at me than anyone else let's just say that and um and then she requested me on instagram and i was like okay here we go oh yeah

Speaker: So then, all right.

Speaker: And then I had to miss a class for a soccer game.

Speaker: And at this point, theater seemed like actually super hardcore.

Speaker: And there was like, and there was actually like 50 page readings that we had to do and stuff like that.

Speaker: Whatever.

Speaker: It wasn't too bad, but we did have like these readings and I was missing class and I was kind of scared.

Speaker: But I also was like, oh, this is a, you know, maybe this is a good opportunity to talk to this Kylie girl.

Speaker: So she was the only person I had like contact information because she requested me on Instagram.

Speaker: So I slid into the DM and asked for notes.

Speaker: So yeah, I politely slid into the DMs, politely slid in the DMs and asked for theater notes.

Speaker: And that's kind of how we started talking.

Speaker: And then we proceeded to, like, message each other through Instagram for, like, three days, having nothing to do with actual theater notes.

Speaker: And then I said something along the lines, I was pretty savage with this.

Speaker: I said, hey, sorry I'm being so bad to respond to messages.

Speaker: I was actually just because I was playing hard to get.

Speaker: But...

Speaker: I said, I actually don't go on this account very much.

Speaker: He had no idea about Kylie Run Smiley.

Speaker: He was messaging my actual Smiley Kylie account.

Speaker: Anyways, I gave him my Snapchat.

Speaker: I was like, here, talk to me here instead.

Speaker: And that was that.

Speaker: which was very smooth, I may add.

Speaker: So yeah, we start snapping, classic college kids, you know what I mean?

Speaker: And literally that weekend, we ended up at the same party.

Speaker: He had a game.

Speaker: I practiced.

Speaker: He got there late, whatever, whatever.

Speaker: We start talking at the party.

Speaker: We leave the party.

Speaker: And then, yeah, we started hanging out after that.

Speaker: And I'd say we hung out for the next almost two months pretty consistently.

Speaker: But it wasn't like a classic college, like,

Speaker: friends with benefits I guess or hook up type situation like we would hang out like during the day like one of my favorite things we would do is after theater class every day we'd finish class at like 2 15 and we'd go to the dining hall and like sit and like eat cereal and like talk and get to know each other so like we're it was to the point where like so many people were just like coming up to me all the time like Kylie who's this who's this soccer boy that you're with like are you guys dating and it like got to a point where like it almost felt like we were dating but there was no label because Sir Lucas uh

Speaker: And I did not clarify anything.

Speaker: And the people were definitely like aware.

Speaker: We were hanging out a ton.

Speaker: And I guess that brings me into the next question.

Speaker: It was, how did you guys start dating?

Speaker: When and where?

Speaker: And who asked who?

Speaker: So...

Speaker: Yeah, well, first of all, when we were hanging out for those two months, I definitely knew that I wanted this to go somewhere.

Speaker: I definitely wanted to date this girl, a thousand percent, all that.

Speaker: I was nervous that it was literally my first month of college and I was in season and I didn't have that much time on my hands and I didn't want to

Speaker: kind of rush into a relationship when I was in season and, um, also just like just beginning college, um, as much as I, as I absolutely liked Kylie so much.

Speaker: Um, so that, that's kind of the reason that, um,

Speaker: in my end that I was kind of scared to clarify things.

Speaker: And we just were kind of hanging out without a label.

Speaker: And that's what I was comfortable with at the time.

Speaker: And then at some point, it got to a period where it was just like we just liked each other too much that we just saw each other all the time.

Speaker: We started seeing each other on weeknights, which and we went to each other's rooms.

Speaker: And it just became a thing where

Speaker: we were, we were like literally dating, but without the label.

Speaker: And then my, my season had ended now.

Speaker: So I had a lot more time.

Speaker: Her season ended too.

Speaker: And she was in a period where she wasn't even like training because it was like the,

Speaker: the grace period between cross country and, and winter track.

Speaker: And we were hanging out all the time.

Speaker: And I honestly, and I've told Kylie this, I just figured we were dating, like kind of, I knew that we weren't like dating, dating, dating that we had, that we didn't have the label of dating because we just hadn't talked about it.

Speaker: But I was just like, yeah, like, like, she's my, she's my girl.

Speaker: Like, she's my girlfriend.

Speaker: Like, I don't know.

Speaker: I just had that kind of

Speaker: Yeah, okay.

Speaker: So then I'm talking with my best friend from home, and he's like, yeah, so how's this girl?

Speaker: How's Kylie?

Speaker: And I was like, she's great.

Speaker: We hang out all the time.

Speaker: I like her so much.

Speaker: She's so cool.

Speaker: Whatever.

Speaker: And he's like, so are you guys dating?

Speaker: I'm like, yeah, I think so.

Speaker: We hang out all the time.

Speaker: We get lunch.

Speaker: We get dinner.

Speaker: I think we're dating.

Speaker: He's like...

Speaker: have you guys like said your dating?

Speaker: Have you asked her out?

Speaker: And I'm like, uh, no, I don't know.

Speaker: I haven't.

Speaker: And he's like, okay, so you're not dating.

Speaker: You have to ask her out.

Speaker: And I was like, really?

Speaker: Is that also just to clarify, I had never really had a girlfriend before.

Speaker: So this was kind of trial one for me.

Speaker: Um,

Speaker: So I didn't necessarily know all this.

Speaker: And he was like, yeah, you have to ask her out.

Speaker: And I was like, okay.

Speaker: So my plan was to, I didn't have a car or anything at the time.

Speaker: I didn't even have my license, so I couldn't even drive anywhere.

Speaker: I'm from New York City.

Speaker: People don't get their license until college because you just take the subway or you take the train or something like that.

Speaker: I mean, or you city bike or something like that.

Speaker: I didn't have my license.

Speaker: I didn't have much money.

Speaker: I didn't know what to do in terms of how to bring this girl on a date at Hamilton.

Speaker: So my plan was kind of just to ask her to get dinner and then tell her there that I really wanted to make this official.

Speaker: So then it's a weekend.

Speaker: It's a Saturday night.

Speaker: Friday night.

Speaker: Was it?

Speaker: Is it a Thursday night?

Speaker: Yeah, so as Luke was saying, I was on my two-week break between cross-country and track, and it was the week before we all had to go home for Thanksgiving break.

Speaker: And Hamilton, people don't go out really that much during the weekdays, which might be shocking to my friends to go to bigger schools.

Speaker: But anyways.

Speaker: It was one of those weird weeks where, again, it's before break and there was a party on a Wednesday night.

Speaker: And I had these plans to go with my teammates and I knew that Luke was going to be there with his.

Speaker: But unfortunately, my whole team and honestly, myself included, got a really bad strand of bronchitis.

Speaker: So the people I was supposed to go down to this party with weren't going anymore.

Speaker: And I was explaining to Luke that I was bummed that I probably couldn't go because they wouldn't be there.

Speaker: because I really wanted to like see him there and Luke goes well you could just come down with me and my friends and I was like oh my god this is like a big deal like when I'm like hanging out with him with his friends for the first time and two like it clearly like he wants me to be there if he's offering this so anyways we go to this party we get there at like 11 have fun we leave the party we go back up to campus and I don't really know how we ended up where we ended up I think we were literally it was like cold because it was like Thanksgiving-ish time and

Speaker: We ended up at this hangout spot that me and my freshman year friends would go to because during COVID, you kind of just had to hang out in the public buildings on campus because of restrictions, et cetera.

Speaker: And it's like him and I alone in this like small, like hexagon shaped room.

Speaker: For those of you listening, it's insane off if you know what I'm talking about.

Speaker: Anyways, there's one chair in the room and what me and my friends freshman year used to do is play this game called hot seat.

Speaker: And essentially one person would sit in the seat for one minute and you just got to ask them all these questions and they had to answer it to their best capacity, fully honest, whatever.

Speaker: So I'm like, oh, this could be a fun, like flirty game to play, whatever.

Speaker: I was, I was thinking on my toes.

Speaker: And so he goes in the hot seat first.

Speaker: I asked him a bunch of questions, whatever stupid questions, nothing like, like what's your favorite color?

Speaker: You know what I mean?

Speaker: But anyways, I go in the hot seat.

Speaker: He asked me a bunch of questions.

Speaker: And then I'm like, wait, I have one more question.

Speaker: And he goes, yeah.

Speaker: And he's like, I was like, what are we to you?

Speaker: And then he goes something like, well, I was going to ask you to be my girlfriend tomorrow, but would you like to be my girlfriend?

Speaker: And I said, yes, of course.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: So then we, that was on, that was in like technically really early morning.

Speaker: It was like at like 2am or something.

Speaker: Um, then that, I guess that, that day for lunch, we, you know, got lunch together, sat down and yeah, made it official.

Speaker: That's kind of the story.

Speaker: So yeah, we started dating, I guess, yeah, like early Thursday morning.

Speaker: And then we all went home for a break.

Speaker: And I knew like I was very emotionally like attached to this boy.

Speaker: Again, I'd only been dating for two days because you guys know me like I fall asleep at like 10 p.m.

Speaker: Like, okay, maybe 11, but early.

Speaker: immediately like as soon as we were apart because I live in the Boston area and he literally lives in New York City um we would be FaceTiming like really late into the night like and by late I mean really early into the next morning like I'd be up on FaceTime until 3 a.m.

Speaker: with this boy literally just like watching him like eat veggie sticks or whatever and

Speaker: And my mom, like, I remember I came downstairs, like, I don't know, like a Tuesday.

Speaker: And she was like, you see me, you must really like this boy because I hear you up so late.

Speaker: And that's just so not you.

Speaker: So like, you must be like, really, really like, you must really like this boy.

Speaker: And I was like, yeah, I do.

Speaker: And she goes, well, tell me he should come to Massachusetts after Thanksgiving, like on Friday.

Speaker: And he could come here and meet everyone.

Speaker: And then you guys could just go back up to school together.

Speaker: So I was really nervous to ask him because I was like, that's such a big ask.

Speaker: We've literally been dating for less than a week.

Speaker: And like, hey, do you want to come to

Speaker: Massachusetts and meet my entire family um but that's what makes me and Luke special as you'll soon see um throughout this episode is that I asked him he was like I mean yeah sure so literally like less than a week into our relationship uh the poor boy met my entire family and not just like my uh my direct family but it was Thanksgiving time so my uh you know cousins and uncles and aunts and grandparents were also here and he was a trooper and he did great and that was like an immediate like

Speaker: really attractive thing in my eyes, like how well he handled meeting all my family members because we're a crazy bunch.

Speaker: But yeah, I think one question that I got asked is how do we handle being in a medium distance relationship and what's it like to live with the other person?

Speaker: Because basically, because we go to school together, that's great.

Speaker: But when we're not at school, whether it be break or summertime, like we live four hours apart by train and car or whatever.

Speaker: Basically, we go, we try to see each other like once a week.

Speaker: And that means a whole lot of train rides, a whole lot of car rides.

Speaker: But to me, it's a no brainer.

Speaker: It's like, of course, I would spend the $30 for the bus ticket and spend the four hours there to see him and get to spend time with him.

Speaker: So for me, that's, that's, that's, it's really great that we have the ability to do that.

Speaker: Yeah, I mean, once we've kind of gotten into that lifestyle, it's really hard to go any longer away from her.

Speaker: So, you know, I think one thing that we really do well is just be very flexible and we still manage to live our lives the way we want them to and like prioritize the things that we have to prioritize while still making time to see each other pretty much every week, even though we're four hours apart.

Speaker: So yeah.

Speaker: Um, you know, I think that's, I'm really happy that we're able to do that and we're able to do it successfully because, you know, as you know, it'd be, it'd be very hard to, to go longer than, than, than that.

Speaker: And it is really special that our families are both very willing to take in the other person.

Speaker: And I know I can speak for at least for myself.

Speaker: My family loves Luke.

Speaker: That's a question I get asked a lot by a lot of my friends in real life.

Speaker: And I think they like him more than they like me.

Speaker: Honestly, things are better when he's around.

Speaker: But his family is just so great to me, whether it be

Speaker: his mom, his dad, his aunt, his uncle, his brother, like they're all just so great to me.

Speaker: And it's like, I think I'll always say to people like,

Speaker: You know I'm so lucky with Luke's mother to the fact where like every single time I show up to his house, there's frozen cherries in the freezer.

Speaker: There's yogurt.

Speaker: There's peanut butter.

Speaker: You know, they have a pool and she's always like talking to me about aqua jogging.

Speaker: And they just make me feel like it's like a second home.

Speaker: And it really does feel like that at this point, just given how much time I spend there and how well I'm treated by his family.

Speaker: Yeah, and I mean, same with Kylie's family.

Speaker: I think I'm always welcomed, and it's not even a question if I'm allowed to go to big family events and stuff.

Speaker: It's actually expected.

Speaker: When he's not there, they're really upset.

Speaker: Yeah, I mean, like, yeah, and when I'm with her family, with, you know, her bigger family at an event or something, it's not awkward at all.

Speaker: They all accept me and, you know, ask me a bunch of questions and are very interested.

Speaker: And it's just like, I can be totally myself around them.

Speaker: And even when I'm, you know, just with Kylie's family and I'm, I, you know, I use their gym or like sit and watch ESPN with Johnny or with her father, like,

Speaker: all of that they just totally kind of bring me in and um that does remind me so when luke came for the first time like again within a week of us dating i actually had to work um i loved my job and i was in a binded situation so i was like hey thanks for coming to boston by the way from uh from 10 a.m until 5 p.m i'm gonna be at work so the poor boy

Speaker: he again the first day he was here he was stuck alone with my family and my mom was so excited because she's like oh my god I get to meet this boy like she literally brought him to like all of her favorite places she like gave him the whole tour um I remember like walking back in at five being like oh my god like the poor kid I can't believe I did this to him he was just sitting on the couch with my dad like watching hockey and I was like wow this boy is different I'm really really lucky

Speaker: Yeah, but I'm so lucky that I felt comfortable to do all that and that your mom was like, okay, Kylie's at work, so we're going to go buy burritos.

Speaker: So then we went, like we literally drove into Boston and got burritos with Johnny too.

Speaker: So it was just like me.

Speaker: That is actually a question.

Speaker: Sorry to interrupt.

Speaker: That is a question I get asked a lot by people who know me in real life.

Speaker: Is it weird for you because you're dating a girl with a twin brother who also goes to school who's also an athlete?

Speaker: Like is this weird for you ever?

Speaker: I mean, I think it could be weird, but Johnny is very accepting and like is so cool with me that it's not.

Speaker: I think like if there was, I could totally imagine a scenario in which it's super awkward or like, you know, or if the brother doesn't like me because, you know, I'm dating his sister, in which case like that would be a tough situation, but it's absolutely not like that at all.

Speaker: And to clarify, Johnny loves Luke, always has, always will.

Speaker: He literally just called me and asked if we'd go get dinner with him tonight.

Speaker: So it was me and my boys getting food.

Speaker: But I will say, some of my brother's friends on campus, before we were dating, actually at that party before we started dating, they just saw me with Luke and they were like pouring beer on him, the poor kid.

Speaker: So my brother loves Luke.

Speaker: Everybody who knows Luke loves them.

Speaker: But that was like the one roadblock I feel like we had to face.

Speaker: Yeah, I think definitely with some of the friends, I would face some glaring or something like that.

Speaker: But it was just because they were so protective of Kylie that they wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to come in and hurt her or anything like that.

Speaker: So I think they were just kind of...

Speaker: being very protective of Kylie.

Speaker: And I think they knew that Johnny couldn't really do that because he would maybe be overstepping.

Speaker: So they kind of played that role.

Speaker: But I think they realized that I was in it for the long haul and that I really liked her.

Speaker: So they quickly became my friends as well.

Speaker: So...

Speaker: So one question that I was asked to ask Luke is, was it like to date somebody with a quote unquote public life?

Speaker: Meaning that I post a lot about my life on Instagram.

Speaker: Obviously not everything, but chances are people know a lot more about me than the average person.

Speaker: And again, Luke is like a little celebrity, I guess, to some people.

Speaker: So yeah, what's it like dating somebody, I guess, who's like a influencer, public person-esque?

Speaker: I mean, I think it's really cool, number one.

Speaker: I think her account is so awesome.

Speaker: But...

Speaker: Yeah, like I said, I mean, I think I've gotten more exposure than I expected in this relationship just because of the account.

Speaker: But I don't mind at all.

Speaker: Everyone that all of her followers are, if they ever were to see me or contact me, are super cool and super good to me.

Speaker: So it doesn't really change much.

Speaker: But yeah, that part is very funny that I'm also now...

Speaker: you know, known by 5,600 people and counting.

Speaker: So that part is definitely something that I've just kind of gotten used to, but I also really love it.

Speaker: So it doesn't change much for me, but it's pretty funny.

Speaker: And what my mom always says, and I actually like totally agree with her, is he's so comfortable on the camera.

Speaker: And also I'm very grateful that he is

Speaker: so willing to one, be on my account, which of course I usually try to ask.

Speaker: And two, he always takes really good pictures of me.

Speaker: Most of the pictures of me are taken by him.

Speaker: So shout out, Lukey.

Speaker: But he does have like a little theater background.

Speaker: And my mom always says like, oh, I see the way he is.

Speaker: He's so confident on the camera, which doesn't come natural to most.

Speaker: And I think I credit some of that.

Speaker: to his past in theater.

Speaker: So moving into some more specific dating questions.

Speaker: I love this question.

Speaker: So thank you to this person for asking it.

Speaker: But what's the best date you think that we've been on?

Speaker: I'd say like just overarching high level.

Speaker: The first time I went to Luke's place in New York City, I was there for a week.

Speaker: It was right before Christmas.

Speaker: It was the most magical week of my life.

Speaker: I cannot express it in any other way by saying it literally felt like I was in a Hallmark movie.

Speaker: One, I got to experience living in a city for the first time and not just any city, New York City, not just New York City, New York City at Christmas.

Speaker: But two, every single day was like a surprise.

Speaker: Luke had planned it out like basically morning to end and it was much a surprise as he took me all over the city, did all his favorite things, got to meet his friends, got to meet his parents.

Speaker: all that good stuff.

Speaker: One of my favorite things, classic, we went on a lot of runs together.

Speaker: It's the first time we went running together.

Speaker: And I remember being like, oh, like he wants to run with me.

Speaker: That's cute.

Speaker: But like, you know, like I'll just do an easy run with him.

Speaker: He's like, no, I can do the workout with you.

Speaker: And he was like crushing my butt in a workout.

Speaker: And at the time I was running like 50 mile weeks.

Speaker: And I was like, what the flip?

Speaker: Like this kid's actually good at running, which, you know, now it makes sense.

Speaker: He's a soccer player.

Speaker: Like obviously like they run a ton.

Speaker: Anyways, it was like the most magical week of my life.

Speaker: So

Speaker: I'm going to try to think right now about what my favorite specific date was, but that whole week in the city with him, the most magical experience.

Speaker: But yeah, I think if I were to pick a specific date that was my favorite, it would have actually been my last night of that one week.

Speaker: And it also happens to be the first night that we said, like, I love you for the first time, which is a big deal in a relationship.

Speaker: I'm sure you guys can understand that.

Speaker: Um,

Speaker: But so he took, he surprised me by taking me to this place called The Edge, is that what it's called?

Speaker: And essentially like you go up to this really tall skyscraper and you overlook the city and it's like this magical breathtaking moment and,

Speaker: um for some background the entire like trip I was feeling that I loved him like I knew that I loved him and I was like wondering like do I wait for him to say it to me first like should I be classic like wait for the guy but like I knew I was feeling it I was waiting for the moment I was like you know what like I'm just gonna tell him like I'm leaving tomorrow I don't know I'm gonna see him again like I'm gonna let him know that I love him whether or not he feels that that's okay but I want him to know

Speaker: And so we're overlooking the city.

Speaker: And again, it's just magical at night.

Speaker: Like you've probably seen the pictures online.

Speaker: Incredible.

Speaker: Anyways, we're overlooking the city and I turn around and I go, hey, Luke.

Speaker: And he goes, hey, Kyler.

Speaker: I go, I love you.

Speaker: And he goes, I love you too.

Speaker: And yeah, that was how we said I love you.

Speaker: But it is a cute story because again, it was a magical week, magical ending overlooking the entire city.

Speaker: And yeah, it was cute.

Speaker: And then of course, us being us, we went and got Chick-fil-A after.

Speaker: Who doesn't love a good Chick-fil-A meal?

Speaker: And yeah, that was definitely probably my favorite date with him.

Speaker: That's definitely one of my favorites as well.

Speaker: But I think another one of my favorites is at Hamilton, it's cold for a while and the winters are very long.

Speaker: So the first day that it's like beautiful out is like the most happy day ever.

Speaker: And so that day last year or two, I guess two years now.

Speaker: Yeah, two years ago.

Speaker: We were supposed to go to this play for our theater class.

Speaker: We were in another theater class now.

Speaker: This was the higher level one because we liked the first one so much.

Speaker: So we're in this higher level theater class.

Speaker: And so we had to go to this play that was required and it was in Syracuse.

Speaker: But the weather was so nice.

Speaker: It was so beautiful.

Speaker: And it was after like a bunch of, you know, it was after a long cold winter.

Speaker: And so it was just such good vibes.

Speaker: We drove to Syracuse.

Speaker: Again, she drove because I still did not have my license.

Speaker: We drove up to Syracuse in like this beautiful day.

Speaker: And we were going to this play.

Speaker: So we were looking for parking.

Speaker: We ended up just like parking in this open garage.

Speaker: Like the garage was open, but it was kind of deserted.

Speaker: So we were like, oh, okay, like I guess this will work.

Speaker: And we just kind of parked in there.

Speaker: We watched the first act of this play, which was our teacher was in it.

Speaker: So it was all right.

Speaker: It was fine.

Speaker: But at the end of the first act, it's a two-act play, we were like, it is just so nice out.

Speaker: We cannot sit for another hour and a half in a dark room.

Speaker: We have to get outside.

Speaker: So we ditched the play, and we wanted to kind of go on an adventure.

Speaker: So we...

Speaker: We left the play and went to our garage, and the garage was closed shut.

Speaker: The gate was down.

Speaker: So our car was trapped inside this garage.

Speaker: By the way, it wasn't even my car.

Speaker: It was my teammate.

Speaker: Shout out, Christina.

Speaker: I don't think you know this story, so I'm sorry if you're learning this for the first time.

Speaker: Yeah, so we trapped her teammate's car inside a garage.

Speaker: And so this part was kind of, like, stressful and scary, but...

Speaker: We had to call a bunch of people.

Speaker: We had to find the number for the building that the garage was in, call them.

Speaker: Finally, this nice guy was able to come down from the apartment and open the garage and get our car.

Speaker: We were so relieved and we were so happy that the weather was still nice.

Speaker: We got the car back and everything like that.

Speaker: We then went to Trader Joe's in Syracuse.

Speaker: Scandinavian swimmies.

Speaker: Come on, my girl's knowing what's up.

Speaker: We went to Trader Joe's.

Speaker: We got some animal crackers.

Speaker: What did we do after?

Speaker: We went to a really good Italian place.

Speaker: When I say really good, I mean Syracuse.

Speaker: Yeah, we went to like, oh yeah, we did.

Speaker: We went to that really good like Italian restaurant and it was just like such like, it's just, it's just a lot of what we enjoy in our relationship, which is just spontaneous adventures.

Speaker: And it was just really, really good vibes and,

Speaker: It wasn't maybe the most romantic of dates because we've definitely had our fair share of those, but it was just like, you know, it's, it, I think it's kind of the epitome of our relationship of just like spontaneous adventures and just like happy vibes with each other.

Speaker: So people love drama.

Speaker: And I get this question again, asked a ton by my friends in real life.

Speaker: And the question is, what fights have you gone into?

Speaker: Or, you know, what big what have been big, like, issues you two have had with each other, because you spend so much time together.

Speaker: it seems like everything's rainbow and sun shines, but surely you have had some fight at some point.

Speaker: And even like when we were first starting dating, everyone was like, oh, it's just the honeymoon phase.

Speaker: Like you're, you don't know what you're talking about essentially.

Speaker: Um, and I can say, at least on my standpoint, there is no major fight that I can think of, not even a small fight.

Speaker: I think,

Speaker: Really, the things that we've gone through together that have been like, quote unquote, negatives haven't been like me versus him.

Speaker: It's been us versus something.

Speaker: So I've had a really tough year, like just to put some things into perspective.

Speaker: The poor boy has dealt with me through two really serious injuries, which, as you guys know, are really hard for any athlete to go through, but specifically me.

Speaker: He's been there for me through all of it.

Speaker: He was with me.

Speaker: Actually, we got COVID and we quarantined together for 10 days.

Speaker: During that time, I also had a grade four femur stress fracture.

Speaker: I think that's the lowest I've ever been in college.

Speaker: It's fair to say that I had a great time.

Speaker: Why did I have a great time?

Speaker: It's all because of him.

Speaker: We make the most of every situation.

Speaker: I think that's really special about us.

Speaker: I'd say it's really our commitment to each other, even in the hard times, that

Speaker: makes those hard times bearable.

Speaker: And I feel very special, very grateful for that.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I mean, I hate to break it to the drama seekers, but there's really not much that we've thought about.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: And I mean, to talk about kind of like the honeymoon phase thing.

Speaker: I mean, in my opinion, like the honeymoon phase is great.

Speaker: Don't get me wrong.

Speaker: Like you, I like how I define the honeymoon phase is kind of

Speaker: that period where you're really getting to know them.

Speaker: And it's like everything that you find out is super, is super special or whatever, like stuff like that.

Speaker: Just everything is, is kind of special with one another.

Speaker: Um, but we've been dating for almost 20 months now.

Speaker: And I can honestly say that like the periods, the period when you kind of know everything about each other and like know their flaws, um, Kylie doesn't have many, but you know, you know, know the few, um,

Speaker: know kind of their insecurities, knows it would make them tick.

Speaker: When you're in that period and you kind of have, and you like work through stuff together, not again, that stuff is not like me versus her.

Speaker: It's like stuff that will endure just, you know, throughout life.

Speaker: But like that, that's the, in my opinion, is the good stuff is like when you can kind of just like live life with one another.

Speaker: And a question that I got asked, again, going back to living with each other, et cetera, is I think,

Speaker: Luke and I do a really good job of, like, sticking to, like, who we are but also being, like, in a, you know, like, a compatible relationship.

Speaker: Like, when Luke and I first started dating, he had no idea that, like, I don't do well sleeping in.

Speaker: Like, I'm going to wake up at 7 a.m.

Speaker: no matter what.

Speaker: when I go to bed.

Speaker: And, um, I think like it got someday, like at one point in our relationship, I was like, you know what?

Speaker: Like, I just need to get up and do my thing.

Speaker: I need to be me.

Speaker: Cause like, that's just how I operate.

Speaker: And like, you know, now it's like, okay, we both know that like, I'm going to fall asleep as soon as the movie goes on.

Speaker: And I'm going to have like woken up and already eaten breakfast and worked out by the time he might be waking up.

Speaker: Um, and it's like,

Speaker: That ability to be flexible and, like, I think also the ability as individuals for us to stay true to who we are while also being in a relationship that makes our relationships so perfect.

Speaker: Shut up.

Speaker: But no, yeah, I agree.

Speaker: I think like some stuff that would definitely possibly like maybe cause fights in another relationship doesn't really faze us just because we understand the, I'm not trying, we're not like superior, but I'm just saying like, I'm just saying like, I think we definitely value being our own selves within our relationship.

Speaker: And so that means if Kylie is working out,

Speaker: three times a day and on a vacation or something like that, I'm not going to get upset at her.

Speaker: That's her life.

Speaker: That's what she wants to do.

Speaker: I love her for that.

Speaker: If I want to...

Speaker: go out with my friends on a Friday night instead of like staying with her or something like that, she's not going to get upset at me.

Speaker: And I think it's, yeah.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: She encourages it.

Speaker: So like, that's what I mean.

Speaker: It's like that type of stuff that in another relationship could definitely cause issues.

Speaker: But I think it's really important to understand that those, like you need that in a relationship and you need to let the other person be themselves.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: So another question is, what is something that most people don't know about the other person?

Speaker: I'm realizing now we didn't really give Luke the proper introduction.

Speaker: He's Luke.

Speaker: He's a 20-year-old.

Speaker: He grew up in Manhattan and Brooklyn, so New York City.

Speaker: He plays soccer.

Speaker: He's a biology major at Hamilton College.

Speaker: He's got a brother.

Speaker: And yeah, that's Luke.

Speaker: But I'm trying to think of something most people don't know about him.

Speaker: So one thing that most people don't know about Luke, and this includes his friends in real life, because Luke didn't even tell me for the first time.

Speaker: His mom had to tell me.

Speaker: But Luke is a little like, like he's like a, like he's so good on stage.

Speaker: And again, I probably credit this to his theater background.

Speaker: Maybe he's also just like a very confident person, which I think is,

Speaker: One of the best things about him.

Speaker: Like very rarely do I see him nervous or insecure, even in like most situations where people would be like before a big game or before a performance in class or a presentation.

Speaker: Like Luke's just like so like mellow and chill.

Speaker: And I love that.

Speaker: Anyways, it's great for me.

Speaker: Anyways, Luke finished third in the entire New York State in a speech and debate competition.

Speaker: Is that the proper accolade?

Speaker: That is correct.

Speaker: The state competition.

Speaker: The state competition.

Speaker: For speech and debate, his sophomore year of high school, freshman year of high school, um...

Speaker: And I don't know much about speech and debate, but I do understand that that must be a very prestigious award to win.

Speaker: And given how many people in New York City, how many people are into that type of thing.

Speaker: And it totally makes sense because he just like commands the stage and he's got a great voice for it.

Speaker: You can probably understand that because you're listening to this podcast.

Speaker: He does the announcing at the sports games at Hamilton.

Speaker: But yeah, he's a one man show and he's great at speaking.

Speaker: And look, I'm not trying to shit on any, you know, speech and debaters out there.

Speaker: If you did it, like I have a ton of respect for you, but I fucking hated that shit.

Speaker: Am I allowed to curse on this thing?

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: Yeah, I really hated it.

Speaker: so I don't talk about it often.

Speaker: Again, like I was, I was pretty good at it just because I was, I had an ability to like memorize speeches well and like, just like kind of say them confidently.

Speaker: So I, I performed well, but,

Speaker: I absolutely hated it.

Speaker: And so I rarely ever talk about it.

Speaker: I kind of block it out of my life.

Speaker: I really can't tell you how much I disliked it.

Speaker: So yeah, well, thank you for telling the world, Kylie.

Speaker: Sure thing.

Speaker: Now, did you guys know that Kylie has never gotten a single math question wrong on a standardized test?

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: So the SAT that you guys cram studying for and stress out about, yeah, she got an 800 on the math section.

Speaker: The SSAT, which you have to take for private high schools and boarding schools, not a single question wrong.

Speaker: So...

Speaker: Yeah, she's a little math genius.

Speaker: I don't know.

Speaker: I know she talks about her like econ stuff and like that she's a math minor and all that.

Speaker: And she's obviously super good at business.

Speaker: But yeah, she's a little secret math genius that doesn't get a single question wrong on a test.

Speaker: So yeah.

Speaker: Another question that's kind of in line with that is what is something unique or special that you love about that person?

Speaker: And I was trying to boil it down to like one specific answer, but I think I have two for this.

Speaker: So one is that Luke is able to just kind of, he just like is just so supportive and just genuinely like, like shows passion for what I'm passionate about.

Speaker: I think like the perfect example of this is when we go to California to spend time with his family.

Speaker: Like he shows his equal enthusiasm and engagement and like,

Speaker: let's go to the gym.

Speaker: Like, let's go work out on vacation with me.

Speaker: As he does, I'm like, we're going shopping.

Speaker: We're going to get some cute beach clothes.

Speaker: And like, he's there for me.

Speaker: And he like shows up and he doesn't even like try to be one of those annoying boyfriends who just like shows like, you know, fatigue and like, oh, like, thanks for dragging me on the shopping spree.

Speaker: But like, he'll literally like

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: And my second answer, and this is something I've learned just from the 20 months we've been together and meeting all the different people in his life, is that Luke has this like rare and special ability to just be himself and be confident in any situation.

Speaker: And he's the same person that I know and love, whether he's with his friends from the city who are very different than his friends at Hamilton, which are very different from his friends that he's had since like early childhood,

Speaker: which is very different than who he is with his own family.

Speaker: Um, and all throughout these different groups of people, like he's the same exact person with the same exact charm and, um, charisma and all that.

Speaker: So I think that's very rare and, um, it motivates me to try to do the same with my relationships.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: The thing about Kylie is, and this also may be why she has 5,600 followers on Instagram is that it,

Speaker: Everyone that meets her like absolutely falls in love with her and like just thinks she's just think she's the best.

Speaker: So like bringing her to family events or having her meet my friends, having her literally sit at like my soccer practices or my soccer game, stuff like that, introduce her to little literal like just like soccer parents and stuff like that, that just like normal practice.

Speaker: you know, you know, other, other girlfriends may be very uncomfortable in and like not, um, just not have like the best of conversations in those, in those environments or something like that.

Speaker: Kylie will like become best friends with that person.

Speaker: And like, they, they will absolutely love her.

Speaker: And, um, they'll come up to me after again, whether it's a parent, a friend, a teammate, whatever it is like, Oh my God, I love Kylie.

Speaker: She's, she's amazing.

Speaker: Good job, bro.

Speaker: Something like that.

Speaker: Like everyone, um,

Speaker: Loves her.

Speaker: And yeah, obviously, it's because she's such a likable person.

Speaker: But it's also just because she's so amazing at just talking to people and like being herself around people.

Speaker: Like you said, for me, I think you just know how to make people feel comfortable around you.

Speaker: And it's a really good skill just to build relationships.

Speaker: But it's something I love about you because you can just...

Speaker: I don't feel uncomfortable bringing you places.

Speaker: I don't feel uncomfortable having you be the only girl with all my guy friends or something like that.

Speaker: It's such a rare thing, but it's so nice to have as a boyfriend just letting you know.

Speaker: So the next question to ask is a little bit more individual, but it's what is your goals for the future?

Speaker: And I think I'm going to think about this in terms of a five-year plan.

Speaker: And again...

Speaker: questions I get asked a lot these days.

Speaker: If you've seen my last podcast episode about working and careers, et cetera.

Speaker: Goals for the future.

Speaker: I don't know.

Speaker: I'm pretty open to things.

Speaker: I'm thinking going into something business related as a career.

Speaker: I have fifth year and sixth year eligibility, whether or not I want to use it or I'm going to use it.

Speaker: We'll have to wait and see.

Speaker: Again, I'm going to my senior year at Hamilton.

Speaker: So I obviously want to, you know, pass my classes and graduate and all of that.

Speaker: But

Speaker: To answer this question just briefly, I would love to end up in Boston or New York City, both places that I kind of live in half and half right now.

Speaker: Love both of them.

Speaker: I would love to continue running at a pretty high level, whether that's for a team or if that's, you know, running like amateur or like, you know,

Speaker: being competitive in like the half marathon of the marathon.

Speaker: I hoped that will be a thing and, uh, just, you know, hoping to continue, uh, growing as a person.

Speaker: I think I'll get my MBA at some point while I'm just, I'm really just rambling right now, but, uh, yeah, just giving, just giving the people that they want to know.

Speaker: Um, but yeah, I just hope to continue being a Kylie Ren Smiley content creator and, uh, learning more about myself, building relationships and, uh,

Speaker: definitely hoping to bring this guy along with me um yeah i i also would like to live in a city preferably boston new york city um and career wise i think i really want to go into sports um right now i'm a biology major but i really don't really have any interest in pursuing anything around that um i've

Speaker: He's also really good at that.

Speaker: I didn't say this about him for his secret tip or whatever.

Speaker: No, he's a, that people don't know about him, but like he's a little biology wizard.

Speaker: And part of that is why I'm a major.

Speaker: I kind of took the easy route for myself, but yeah, I think I definitely want to go into sports.

Speaker: I think, you know, working for either a player or a league or a team would be super cool.

Speaker: I work for my,

Speaker: Right now I'm interning at my former soccer club and I do like marketing for them and I help coordinate partnerships and like just basically help them bring in money that they'll use to boost their own team and their own programs.

Speaker: So I find a lot of reward in that.

Speaker: Um, and I really love doing stuff like that.

Speaker: So I think doing that at a higher level, maybe, you know, staying in the soccer world, such as doing it for the MLS or doing it for, um, doing it for an MLS team or doing it for, you know, messy or something like that.

Speaker: I think like that would be, that would be super cool.

Speaker: So that's, that's kind of my, my dream goals.

Speaker: And I'm hoping I can, you know, build, build up to that in the next, next couple of years and after, after graduation.

Speaker: But, um,

Speaker: yeah, I think I definitely want to continue playing soccer.

Speaker: It's a hundred percent my passion, but unfortunately I think, um, doing it as a career is just not sustainable.

Speaker: So, um, you know, we'll see what, what my future in soccer has for me.

Speaker: It's different from running where you can kind of, you know, join in running.

Speaker: You can still compete like in marathons and just like, um,

Speaker: professional races and stuff if you have a certain time.

Speaker: Whereas in soccer, it's just like, you know, you have to sign a contract for a team that I probably would not have the time to do if I'm trying to pursue a career.

Speaker: So we'll see.

Speaker: We'll see what happens on that end.

Speaker: But yeah, I think I think those are kind of my goals.

Speaker: So another person asked, this is for Luke specifically, what is a question that you want to ask Kylie?

Speaker: So I'm giving you the mic.

Speaker: um ah geez uh okay yeah i think one question i have is how how do you think you've changed since the beginning of our relationship that's a really good question it's actually something i think a lot about and i feel like i've changed maybe not a ton from like the outside like perspective um because again like we said earlier like i'm still the same girl who loves to train who loves to

Speaker: you know, wake up early, all that good stuff.

Speaker: But I think I've made a lot of changes like internally and just like adjustments.

Speaker: Like I think the overall answer is like, just like so many things that used to be like so like important to me that I'm realizing now really don't matter.

Speaker: Cause like I have like this great relationship that like just makes me feel so good about myself and just like life in general.

Speaker: Like

Speaker: for example, I've been injured before with Luke and without Luke.

Speaker: Um, and just like not even a question that ended.

Speaker: And of course it's cause he's so supportive and like, he's there for me and all the hard times, whatever, whatever, which is also very important.

Speaker: I'm not trying to discount it by saying whatever, but what I'm trying to say is like, I always remember like, okay, I can't run, but I still have like such a great life.

Speaker: And I'm so lucky that like, I can just like fulfill, like

Speaker: that like sadness of not being able to do my sport by like doing fun things with him so he kind of just like being with him reminds me that like there's more to life than just like school and athletics etc etc and then I also think just another thing beyond just like more being more confident and more um at ease with everything I guess that's the best way to put it is um

Speaker: Like, I feel like I, like, love, like, adventuring.

Speaker: And I think, like, part of the reason I've become so good and, like, passionate about it is because I do so much solo travel going to see him in the city and, like, just experiencing city life and all of that through him.

Speaker: I think just overall, I'm a happier and more confident person because of Luke, because of how good he is to me.

Speaker: But then two, it's true though.

Speaker: Two is like, I love city life and I love like being spontaneous and adventuring.

Speaker: But now you know what?

Speaker: I'm just going to throw the question back on you.

Speaker: You weren't expecting that.

Speaker: You weren't expecting that, but it's been thrown back.

Speaker: I just use the Uno reverse cards.

Speaker: Let's see.

Speaker: How have I changed?

Speaker: I would definitely agree that I've become more like just...

Speaker: obviously happier and more confident and just more okay with things just because I have this relationship that I'm so happy to be in.

Speaker: I would say personally I've become a lot like Kylie has pushed me to become such a more motivated person I think and also just like a more I guess organized and like I've always set goals for myself that's always been something I do but

Speaker: Now I set goals for myself and I have like clear steps into how to, how to achieve those because I see what Kylie does.

Speaker: Um, and, and I'm motivated to, to achieve them in a, in a much greater sense than before dating her.

Speaker: um and i think i mean that just goes to i say that just because of observing how she is um with with everything whether it's you know motivating to train or do her internship or homework whatever it is i think she pushes me to be a better person in that sense because i'm i'm like i'll be like if i'm on tick tock for an hour i'm like all right luke like kylie's out here like

Speaker: aqua jogging for literally like two hours like you can go like do something okay um but just beyond that i just think i've become more um motivated and uh dedicated and just like i set very clear goals for myself and i want to um achieve everything that she's able to achieve so

Speaker: And so a last question that I was asked through Instagram, but again, always asked in the real world is how do you find a boyfriend or how do you find such a happy relationship or like how do you find quote unquote like your soulmate?

Speaker: Um, and like, I don't have an answer necessarily, but what I, what I will say, at least from my perspective is to keep an open mind.

Speaker: Um, I never thought that I would be finding like the best guy ever in a theater class of all places, but also a soccer player, also a kid in grade below me.

Speaker: Like I wasn't necessarily, I wasn't looking for a relationship at all.

Speaker: Like it was just, it just kind of like happens.

Speaker: So I guess like

Speaker: if there's anything I've learned from my experiences to keep an open mind and, um, I guess be a little flirty because I feel like my, my flirtation skills, uh, gave him an inkling that I had interests.

Speaker: So, uh, I don't know how to say it besides that.

Speaker: I mean, also just make sure that you feel really happy and that you feel like you're becoming a better person when you're hanging out with someone that you think may build in a relationship or if you're in a relationship with someone, just make sure that you feel really happy and confident and that you feel like you're a better person now that you're in that relationship.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: like I don't settle, like make sure that this is the person that you want to do life with.

Speaker: Because when I'm with Kylie, like I, I think we've, we've kind of discussed this, but it's so hard to just be away from her.

Speaker: I think like when you start to understand that feeling and feel that, then you're like, okay, wow, this, this is a serious relationship.

Speaker: I'm just going to say one, one thing is for people that are in relationships now, or, you know,

Speaker: want to be in one or think they will be in one soon, you should watch the Good Will Hunting scene, which is one of our favorite movies.

Speaker: It was the first movie we ever watched together, just FYI, where Will and Robin Williams are in their therapy session.

Speaker: And Robin Williams talks about how his wife used to fart in her sleep.

Speaker: And they start cracking up and dying of laughter, which apparently was completely unscripted.

Speaker: And that was just genuine laughter.

Speaker: Yeah, apparently it was just genuine laughter because that was a completely improvised line.

Speaker: But the point is that he was trying to tell Will how...

Speaker: those little quirks, those little insecurities that only you know about someone is what you grow to love about someone.

Speaker: So if you feel like you're in the quote honeymoon phase and there's stuff that you're realizing is maybe a little bit flawed or not perfect or not the exact image of what you thought this person was,

Speaker: A lot of the time, those are like the best things about them.

Speaker: And those are the things that you actually will remember five years from now or when you are in even a more serious spot in your relationship.

Speaker: It's like what Robin Williams remembers is that his wife used to fart in her sleep.

Speaker: And it's like those little funny...

Speaker: maybe maybe a couple times um but i'll remember them and and i love you for them and that's i think that's that's just the point so like don't you know if you're in a relationship and you feel like um and like you feel like you're getting out of the honeymoon phase or whatever which i think is so overrated but

Speaker: you know, those are some of the moments that you actually want to really appreciate.

Speaker: And, but still don't settle and make sure you're super happy and in love.

Speaker: And yeah.

Speaker: So this brings us to the end of our episode.

Speaker: As always, thank you guys for being here.

Speaker: I hope we didn't cringe you out too much, but I'm just trying to give people what they want.

Speaker: And I definitely had a great time filming this and hearing some of Luke's thoughts.

Speaker: But yeah, thank you.

Speaker: Thank you, Luke, for everything, but specifically for putting up with my quote unquote public life and for actually like being

Speaker: letting the camera love you like it does um and for for being on this podcast um you're really you're really good guy for that thanks for uh having me this was really fun yeah thank you for having me um and thank you guys for listening

Speaker: and always being so good to my girl and holding her, holding her up when she may be down.

Speaker: I've seen all the comments.

Speaker: They're super sweet.

Speaker: Um, and yeah, we're not perfect by any means.

Speaker: I think there's many things that aren't perfect, but I'm glad you could get a little insight into what our relationship is like and, um, yeah, what, what we do and answer all your questions.

Speaker: So, uh, yeah, I'm glad I could get another feature on this, on this account.

Speaker: This is great.

Speaker: So thank you.

Speaker: See you guys later.

Speaker: Bye.
