Speaker: No. and My name is Mark, and I am playing the human blade singer, Seth Farrow Reaver, and by last, but by no means least, is our taint technician, our tamer of terrors, our tyrant of trials, our tempter of the testicle tickling, the fantasy foreskin, forager of fates, and facilitator masturbator, Dungeon Master Danny.

Speaker: in a what seems an abandoned house on the edge of s sleepard cobwebs in the corners, four stories high. And as we work our way up this abandoned written place, place of abandonment to the attic space, we find within it, hunched in a corner, old Gell sat quietly, rolling the orb between his fingers.
Speaker: As we appear up from the latch, he's already looking at us. He knew we were coming. He turns, opens his mouth, and says...
Speaker: Ooh, altruistic tattoo time. The group talk decisions, and Prego does some sort of sick-ass lore drop-in. The Gartrans are the sky people, apparently. Oh, shit.
Speaker: And we're asking, like, why weren't they fighting over Sleek God and Shadow Man? And it turns out that Shadow Man exists because of Tolkelon, and Sleek God exists because of the Gartrans, and Leopold is like, Fortnite! thousand fucking years old and the same they're old ass bitches and something to do with delmon's magic being similar in some way shape or form i don't fucking know and the key person the thing inside alpha is like some sort of key to either the return of the gartrans or or or unlocking tokelon or some sort of victory it's all kind of fucked up anyway prego's like i got a new offer for you boys i don't think that reigns he reigns has got long left
Speaker: we can save Seth as a group, but I will be there when the time comes for you to decide what happens with Aerith. And the groups are like, oh no. And Prager was like, I got some more Lordrop for you. Groset, the campaign won fucking mosque other brother!
Speaker: And they're like, don't know what to feel about that! Nyx is like, you know what? I'm voting for the tattoo. Sounds fucking cool. Emron's like, hmm, tell me about the 13 names first. And Prego's all like, you'll find out in due course, bitch. And Emron's like, okay, fine, I'll take some time, but I'm gonna give you a little bit of a threat.
Speaker: Ball's like, yeah, I'm in! I'm gonna drop a few C-bombs. Alpha is in and let's get a fucking tattoo! Nyx decides to go brain fucking on Prego and he sees his own custom wet dream.
Speaker: Yep, I said it. Seth is like, okay, right, let's just find out the meanings of this deal. Apparently he won't get harmed, whatever happens to Reigns, but like I said, when we have to decide what to do with her, Prego will appear, and them tattoos go all along, and Prego just randomly sidesteps in and goes, oh, by the way, Bar, you was like the heart of the group, and yeah, that's pretty cool.
Speaker: Anyway, the group goes clipping, clopping, and Seth suddenly fears his heart, skipping a beat, and his tattoo lights up. And something's happening. Something's happening to Reigns. Alpha can feel it too.
Speaker: In our last episode, we followed Reigns Haddo, who, cast out of the meeting of the Winged Watch for compromising secrets, decided to decided to take his fate into his own hands and seek a means to return to ShadowMend.
Speaker: In the dead of night, Reigns' options for a swift and immediate travel were slim, but he charted passage as far as Moonrise, on board a pirate ship called the Cracked Ruby, which was captained by the notorious pirate Roland Swiftblade.
Speaker: En route to the Cracked Ruby, with the crew, Reigns discovered a wanted poster in their rowboat, seeking capture of the false Prince of Shadowment, with his portrait pictured.
Speaker: Before he could escape, Reigns was paralysed and taken elsewhere. Instead of the Cracked Ruby, Reigns awoke. naked and bound in chains in the brig of a much greater vessel, the Lion of the Sea, the lead vessel of Shadow Men's Navy belonging to Reigns' grandfather, Uriand Cardenal.
Speaker: Reigns was tortured, his memories red, and life near depleted by Uriand's hand. Uriand learned everything about Reigns' journey since leaving Shadomend.
Speaker: About you, the party. About the winged watch. Shondralakar. About Alpha. And Princess Iamolda Gartrin.
Speaker: In return, Reigns learnt Uriand was not his grandfather. As he had known his entire life, but his actual father.
Speaker: Reigns eventually succumbed to the torture inflicted by his now father, but in his dying moments, Prego the Majestic came to him with an ultimatum and explained that if Reigns died, so too would Seth.
Speaker: This was after the party struck a bargain.
Speaker: Prego extended a new deal. He would safely take Reigns away from his doom and return him to the party. In doing so, Reigns needed to give Alpha and the stone containing Princess Aymel de Gartre to Prego.
Speaker: Faced with an impossible choice. Dying, and dooming Seth too, or living, but giving his son and this princess to a devil.
Speaker: Reigns chose death, and in his final words, he uttered an apology to Seth.
Speaker: The party, you five, now find yourselves travelling eastward, outside of Scorch Helm, making the four-day journey to Beach Barrow Port, where you are investigating the recent silence from an agent of the Winged Watch, who's been keeping eyes on a p'chriskra activity in that town.
Speaker: The five of you, however, been pressing through the night on your faithful elephant-y companion trunks. You have two weeks to return to Scorch Helm. I need you all to roll an exhaustion check, so please make constitution saving throws.
Speaker: Oh, shit. Fuck it. And if any of you are still carrying exhaustion, you haven't shaken that off. Well, fuck, man. Like, I'm exhausted too. Level two already.
Speaker: So what am like I got a roll of d20, right? Constitution saving throw.
Speaker: um mean even And then minus two to whatever roll you get. yeah Because you've got two levels of exhaustion.
Speaker: I don't want to so ah constitution saving throw which is a plus two but minus two so it's just a nat I know it's times two your exhaustion level yeah it's double your exhaustion level so it's four you reduce four you reduce four oh shit the look of Nick's face droop oh bastard okay you're tired it's not good you're tired man Barl what'd you get ah You're exhausted. Another stack.
Speaker: yeah Seth, what'd you get? 18. Not exhausted. But you don't recover if you're still carrying any.
Speaker: Alpha. Unnatural 20. Not exhausted. Emron. 2. Exhausted. Very exhausted. Nyx.
Speaker: I don't want to. 9. Exhausted. Yeah. Level 3. nine exhausted yeah it takes up to three sts so everything That would have been level four.
Speaker: ah Everything you do is reduced by six.
Speaker: Is this because we've clip-clopped through the night? You clip-clopped through the night. Cool, gotcha. Yeah. What if we slept? Well, you can if you want to do that in a moment, but you you've arrived at midnight at this point.
Speaker: you you need to test for exhaustion. So some of you may want to sleep during this leg of the the move. However, i need someone who's proficient in survival to make a preparation role for this journey. In the past, this has been Baal, but it's a straight survival whats it bot it's survival role.
Speaker: um And it dictates basically how your conditions fare, how prepared you are for the journey, the sort of um inspections you would have done on your vehicle, how you would have tended to trunks and that sort of thing. So Baal, if it it is to be Baal again,
Speaker: Would we have had the benefits of a short rest on the journey up till midnight, do you think? No. this This all happened as you were leaving the Winged Watch. We we are on route. That means i'm yeah I'm not attuned to the Navigator's cane, but it's still I've still got a relatively good boost to survival. It just b won't be as good as it could. I'm not proficient, so I'm out. I am, but could i just ah help?
Speaker: ah Because you mentioned about vehicle checks. You're proficient in land vehicles? I'm proficient land vehicles and proficient in survival. But i because Bal has led on those kind of things in the past, is there any way that I can... ah how How would you help Bal as he's sort of ready checking the party?
Speaker: Well, if he's checking the party and the journey, I assume Seth could be checking the vehicle, ah checking the spokes, checking the gears, checking for any wear and tear on the cart, um looking over trunks, but with a little bit of weariness, given he's not proficient with kind of animals, but more proficient with the vehicle itself. So kind of checking over that, making sure that it's safe and secure, we're going to limit rattling, comfort for the others.
Speaker: um checking the reins, no pun intended, the reins and just the general saddle of... There's no reins here!...in preparation for comfort. They're broke! Yeah, that that that kind of but accoutrement.
Speaker: Can I also tap Baal's bot and cast Guidance on him?
Speaker: Sure. Baal, you can add a d4 and roll advantage because of Seth's help then. Okay, i rolled. I don't think I'll need the D4, but I will put it on anyway. Dengix just turns away. All right, fuck you very much.
Speaker: It's a 24 overall with the guidance. 24. Okay. So every you as a party can tap into a resource called preparation die, ah which are an additional D6 you can add to any role, a damage role, ah saving throw, skill test, whatever.
Speaker: ah To the value of D6, you have 24, you said. So you have you have five of those available to you as a party between now and when you arrive at Beach Barraport. Okay. Nice. Nice.
Speaker: So if someone could track when those are spent, yeah there are five available. So is that then, this is the kind of the equivalent of because we've been prepared, we're are a bit more prepared.
Speaker: So with this kind of a works as like almost guidance because of the preparation we put in. Yeah, it's it's sort of currency. do Yeah, it's a perilous environment to take long rests in. Right. So there there is another way you can sort of bolster the party for a journey. And that is to to invest in these preparation die.
Speaker: um And it means that someone acts as a sort of guide on this journey. While you don't know this environment particularly well, you've never been this far east, this is is all new terrain to you, but you understand deserts. um So you right it makes sense that you you're sort of leading that.
Speaker: But essentially it creates a resource that you can all tap into for role play, that you can tap tap into for combat, whenever you feel is appropriate.
Speaker: Just to double finally double check. So that's ah five as a whole party. Yep. There's five people can draw on. So there's only five available. You share that five. So like I said, one of us feels there's a super important role. Could you use all five or is there a limit on one? Absolutely. If you feel like that's that's what you need to do. But there are there are five available.
Speaker: Okay, so there's no limit on the number per turn or like in combat or anything. It's just, this is a pool of dice that we can use to whenever. Yep. Sick. I like it. Nice. Thank you. Can I add it to my roll of 24? Add them all to it. You achieve them afterwards.
Speaker: You had this preparation die the time that you left Snake Run to get to Scorch Helm, but you didn't use them all. I think one was used on...
Speaker: Nyx being yeeted from that tower um after that. ah yeah didn't You didn't use them all by the end of the the run. There's no reward for not using them. They're to be used. um So you've got to decide if you want to but use them more or save them for a more dangerous moment.
Speaker: But there are five of those available. You clip-clop through ah the this sort yeah outer farms and mines and estates of Scorch Helm.
Speaker: takes you about half an hour to really leave the city's outer reaches proper. It is dark, but from the light of the moon and the calamity in the sky that you're learning more and more about, there is a bit more light than usual.
Speaker: Some of you may wish to spend this time resting. One person needs to spend this time driving the cart. You can't all take that rest. um You know you're headed eastward. You're on a ah road, Seth, that is that is of Chrisker maintained. So there are there are lights every mile. There's mile markers, et cetera.
Speaker: um The road is ah decent condition. this is the This is the major route to move through this kingdom into and into the east. um So how would you guys like to proceed?
Speaker: Firstly, Seth's only got one level of exhaustion anyway, and I think that feels more metaphorical than any anything else. So he would just not break stride and would just... it's He's got a focus, he's got a task, and so because of that, he's happy.
Speaker: And so he will he will happily, without having to make a big deal or mention it, will just keep clip-clopping and will stay by the reins and stay at that um you know next to Trunks. throughout and he will assume that others will take take rests according because he will power through he will power through him because ah um yeah the quicker we get there the quicker we've got our purpose and the quicker he can he can get to get to slashing and gashing okie dokie in the back of the car everyone's sort of going as the car's rumbling along everyone sort of looks to the the others that are in there and sort of speaks loud enough so Seth can hear
Speaker: Do we want to ah stop for a bit, give everyone everyone a rest so we can start fresh, are we pushing on through a night? he sat on the I am perfectly fine going with our current course.
Speaker: But I mean, his point is that obviously it's a few days to get there. Obviously, what we don't want to do is push on through the night, get really tired and have to stop in the blazing sun, whereas we could rest a bit now at night, is what i'm saying. Now we're out of the city, just just putting it out there as a group to be a bit more refreshed.
Speaker: Danny, does it look like we'd be able to do a mobile rest in the sense of like get being able to get a long rest using the car as we're still moving so long as one person does? As long as one person was dedicated to controlling there's enough space for you all to stretch out in that car.
Speaker: Yeah, that I ah but would probably kind of bring that up then or or just say, think time is of the essence. And if we can... ah instead of taking watch, maybe one, maybe two maximum take watch and one person drives, we'd take it in shifts.
Speaker: Okay, yeah, I'm happy to that, yep as long as we're all up with that.
Speaker: I need sleep, guys. It's been a long time since I've needed sleep like this. In fact, I can't remember the last time I've needed sleep like this, and it's almost welcoming, but at the same time, i am fucked So whatever decision we make, I'm not going to be much use until I get something off the shut eye.
Speaker: well Okay, let's rest on the road. Well, Seth, are you happy to keep pushing on once you need to sleep? You tell us and one of us will take over. Seth will just kind of thumbs up over his over his head as he continues looking forward. Or sticks his hand, obviously you can't see that, sticks his hand through the material that I imagine fronts this cart he'll just see a thumbs up stick through and then um pull back through. Okay, let's get as comfortable as we can then, folks.
Speaker: I'm happy to take a bit of a watch to start with. I could do with perhaps reattuning to some of the things that I have. um Speaking of which, and I'll kind of look around the group and kind of take in everyone for a second.
Speaker: And then he's going to kind of rub his hands together and just breathe like... heavily into his hands and it's almost like like thin wispy smoke starts building into his hands into a tiny little bonfire almost in a sec in an way and he takes a section of it and he passes it towards Nyx. He takes a section, he passes it towards Alpha and he also kind of throws it at the back of Seth's head.
Speaker: I'm casting aid at third level. um which will bump up your hit point maximum to 10 more than it currently is for the next eight hours. It's not concentration based.
Speaker: It just kind of bumps those up. it's not like temporary hit points? It's max HP by 10. Wow. Just for eight hours. So for the long rest in case, obviously things go tits up.
Speaker: And as as he's kind of cast that out, he's not really kind of used that ability with this group much before he's going to kind of pull his hand to his clasp, his cape or wear his cape, his under cape, if you like, could be.
Speaker: And just that there's this kind of, he's got the Pearl of Power in a Phoenix-based suit. glass emblem around his neck and he's going to withdraw the power of that out and get his third level spell back straight away again um and then he's going to be spending the next hour uh attuning taking attunement away from the pearl and into his rod woof um that's just that's my plan that's a sick spell oh really good that's awesome have you i mean I'm just adding it on his temporary hit points for now. No, you can click on and housing your HP and you can adjust your max HP modifier by 10.
Speaker: It won't let me. or just Maybe it's because I'm weak-ass wizard. Not override your max HP. It's your modifier. HP modifier? yeah If you click on your HP in D&E Beyond, below where you put in damage and that, lot there's max HP modifier overriding. Oh, yeah, I got it. I put it in max HP modifier and you put 10 and it bumps you by 10.
Speaker: Thank Thank you, Bob. So it sounds to me that Seth is driving through the night and the other four of you are taking a long rests. Yes. Okay.
Speaker: All right. so It needs to be at least six hours of sleeping for us and then two hours, whatever we want. Okay, Seth, I need you to make, there's not a mechanic right now for for vehicle proficiency for land vehicles. So what I'm going to do is you're going to make an animal handling check, straight animal handling check, and I want you to then add your proficiency modifier on top afterwards, please.
Speaker: Okie dokie. Here we go. Good. That rolled from a natural one to a 15 plus... three My proficiency bonus is 3, 18. Perfect. So for the course of the night, then, you have a very quiet, but very steady um route through. And because you're staying on this major road, the Crisqua lights are enough for you to just get used to...
Speaker: um
Speaker: Maintaining a steady enough course that you're not hitting potholes and waking up and disturbing the long rest and impacting and the rest of your party's ability to to recover. We get to sunrise and your your that passage passes without incident.
Speaker: Every eight hours or so, I'm going to have to enforce that you need to stop because trunks can't continuously run for 24 hours straight. That would kill the creature. Yeah. So we get to sunrise, the rest of the party complete a long rest.
Speaker: So do what you need to do for do that. Remove an a stack of exhaustion, not all of them, in your recovery. And we'll call this you pulling over to get breakfast and waking everyone up, essentially. Did we level up?
Speaker: just ah Absolutely not. Okay, cool, cool. No, you level down, um actually, after that a request.
Speaker: Sun is beginning to rise. You say it's been eight hours. It's been eight hours. So yeah we lost that 10 point HP from Baal. yeah Yeah, but Baal then completes a long rest of those spell slots are back.
Speaker: yeah yeah exactly So it sort of recycles. Yeah.
Speaker: You make very good distance despite um the fact that, Seth, that was a really tiring drive for you. Drive must be the appropriate um verb there ah for you.
Speaker: And you're beginning to get to this point in the desert where it's not sort of um flat sands anymore. So as you came into Turalac initially, it was very dune-y, very sandy.
Speaker: um Now this is becoming quite craggy and canyon-y. Canyon-y is not the the appropriate word, but lots of canyons. And youre you're sort of in a high road going between different cliffs and buffs, but there is sheer drops beneath you.
Speaker: The road is really well maintained. um but the the landscape is is more of a crevasse, if you will. You pull over the side of the road and and at this point, you know sort of Trunks just needs that break and everyone begins to wake because you're so used to the motion through the night that when the motion stops, it's naturally a waking point for all of you.
Speaker: and Before you sort of pick up from this point, Bal, I'll ask you as the um de facto guide here,
Speaker: To rule d20 for me on a random encounter table, please. Oh, shit. might do this manually. We're all awake at this point, yeah? Yeah, this isn't the point you ambush. It's just for the day. like something Something you'll encounter, perhaps, from a table.

Speaker: What do you want to do?
Speaker: Baal is going to cast Goodberry. We'll need provisions, so this is good pre-emptive. Welcome to Goodberry. Can take your order? Can I take your order?
Speaker: ah For all you 90s kids out there, that's just made you laugh if you get that reference. ah yes so good they little that that Yeah, Yeah, they just they look like little berries, but they're spicy as fuck. But that'll fill you up.
Speaker: He hands them around. I'll give one out to Trunks as well if he'll have it. Nice. and Which leaves me with five left. I'm fairly certain Reigns was your ability to create water.
Speaker: oh i have that one of us could have swapped out yeah you've already got it i don't have it now but i can swap it out it's part of the long i prepared it just in case of we've all got four skins it's fine so but i'll spunk another level as well um and create water for everyone's canteens and things like that so bar's gone full have you got that going for um bar have you got that going forwards I mean, like can. There's other things that I could use this energy on if someone else... Okay. We'll talk about it when we... I think we made sure we had several water skins in the things. We can just filled those up, didn't we? As part of our gear, when we left to get to to to the capital, we did buy lots of water skins. Who's this person talking? Who's this?
Speaker: Now this is Will talking to the player. That's a it's just reminding We were having an in-character chat there. for This isn't a Christmas special. You can't just bring in you. What do you think this is?
Speaker: Baal, babe, we'll talk about it when we next have a rest. But I can take some, I can shift some of my arcanic abilities around. Okay.
Speaker: Well, yes, for tomorrow perhaps. Then it gives me a ah few more up my sleeve to make sure none of you guys, well, to heal you up again, as Baal kind of catches himself and realises what he was just about to say.
Speaker: As Baal makes the water, Emond's filling the various different bags of when water things we had. Yeah. And Azula just sat around by the side of the road, taking in refreshments.
Speaker: Your note, Seth, you didn't pass anyone in the night. No one traveled. There were and nowhere near the road and at distance, some sort of nocturnal animals, but no one would dare approach a stampeding elephant.
Speaker: And dawn is much the same. It's it's incredibly quiet. There's a still wind and there is an acrid heat, but not not anything you're not used to at this point after a couple of weeks in this desert. Hydrated, satiated from the good berries.
Speaker: you'll begin to sort of collect yourselves and and just in that moment where you're all still sat down. Bal, with your passive, you'd see this anyway, but I won't get people to roll.
Speaker: Coming from the north and you're sort of moving parallel to the sea at this point. So you know you're only a couple of ah miles from from the ocean. Coming from the north in the sky is this sort of gray, tiny bird.
Speaker: flapping at extreme speed towards you.
Speaker: ah Heads up, anyone know what that is? And Bile kind of point it out. That looks like a bird.
Speaker: Flapping towards us at extreme speeds. Yes. Very fast bird. Maybe it's some sort of messenger. Seth's going to stand up and unsheathe his scimitar of wounding, which I imagine is kind of serrated along the edge very slowly. So it goes against the scabbard as it comes out with one hand and then reaching across himself. He's going to pull out the other relative ah regular scimitar and just start walking towards the bird, like them kind of in the readied position.
Speaker: And he's going to prepare himself. he's not actually going to do anything, but you know, I'm not preparing anything mechanically, but just that's the motif i want to go for. This bird is maybe the size of a pigeon.
Speaker: ah Seth hits it. and But it's it's still about 80 foot in the air, but but coming towards you quite quickly. And it's not, um
Speaker: Seth, the one thing you're you're quite trained in is,
Speaker: bird messengers and and iconography of birds, right? it' It's been how you communicated for the past couple of months in the winged watch. This is not an organic creature, nor is it a sort of fae-created creature of of magical, um that sort of magical school.
Speaker: And it sort of darts straight at you, all but no one in particular, and sort of lands in this heavy thud and this small plume of sand just sort of
Speaker: shoots up from the the ground itself.
Speaker: ah it's close enough It's not close enough for any of you to sort of um visibly get a read on, but it's it's sort of in the middle of your area. Seth will look back at it and then to the rest and just kind of wait for them to take the lead, but he'll very much, he's he's still armed and he's kind of prepped for something to jump out and try and bite his dick off.
Speaker: Anyone speak bird here? Everyone's going to get up and go towards what? This bird. As you move towards it, it's familiar to you.
Speaker: It's Reigns'

Speaker: that's You son of a bitch! And it just, like a wounded bird that flew into a wall... Or into a window that sometimes you just encounter. It's it's struggling for life in front of you.
Speaker: But it's... It belonged to Reigns. Emron will pick it up in his so scarred and weathered hands and bring it over towards the group. Can you just make a sleight of hand check to see how delicately you can do this?
Speaker: An 11? I'm real delicate. You pull one half of it up with you. no you pick it You pick it up by it sort of between the wings. I was aiming to scoop it, but yeah. Yeah.
Speaker: and Just not quite delicate enough. And it is just breaks into a couple of pieces. But it just sort of flaps like ah like a fish that's beached.
Speaker: um I'll pick up the other half mash them together no
Speaker: i will I will bring over the other half and yeah just is it still moving not anymore do you fucking kill it probably i'm gonna Who is this?
Speaker: Alpha's going to go over to Emron. Roleplay, William. And Alpha's going to attempt to, anyway, cast Mending on this parrot that stopped moving. He's still going to try anyway. And it's going to be a point where Alpha sees this as his connection to Reigns, going to cast Mending.
Speaker: It doesn't work. He's going to try again. It's almost like resourcing it with Mending at this stage, you even if it's little by little by little by little. He's going to keep trying to do it, even if there is no effect. going probably give it a good go five or six times.
