* TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES THE FIRST 17 SEC, PLEASE FAST FORWARD*

In this episode of STILL YOU, Katelynn dives deep into the wonderfully complex world of Enneagram Type Six — the Loyal Skeptic. Known for their loyalty, preparedness, and courage (despite constant inner anxiety), Sixes are the friends who keep you safe and make you laugh with their “what if” jokes.

We’ll unpack their core blueprints, light sides, shadow sides, wings (6w5 & 6w7), and the best practices for growth. Expect humor, relatable examples, and maybe a gentle roast or two — because let’s be honest, Sixes would’ve already prepared for it.

Whether you’re a Six, love a Six, or just want to understand why your friend carries both a first aid kit and a conspiracy theory binder — this episode will help you see the courage, heart, and hilarity of Type Six

Introduction to Enneagram Type Six

00:00:12
KateLynn Bundy
Hey everybody, welcome back to Still A U, the podcast where we dive into the strange soup of personality and ask like, why am I like this?
00:00:24
KateLynn Bundy
And today we're stirring the pot with one of the most misunderstood yet yet absolutely essential types of the Enneagram world, our sixes, the loyal skeptics, or also known as the loyalists of the Enneagram. We're about to find out why.
00:00:40
KateLynn Bundy
um But first, if you are watching on YouTube, you'll see the blank slate that is before me. no behind me. i moved into our new home.

Personal Update and Listener Engagement

00:00:49
KateLynn Bundy
I have my very own little office. that ah It's a blank slate where I'm going turn into like my podcasting office of my dream. So if anything, follow along for that and see the transformation.
00:01:01
KateLynn Bundy
Also, like and subscribe to help support the dream so I can quit my job, my mind, my nine to five job that I just do not like. But also if you want to schedule a one-on-one session with me to learn more about your Enneagram type or learn what your Enneagram type is, you can do that.
00:01:21
KateLynn Bundy
You'll see a Calendly link in these show notes. You're going to have to copy and paste it, unfortunately. um And check that out. Also, um you can just go to the links on my socials as well.

Characteristics of Type Six

00:01:33
KateLynn Bundy
But anyway, is If you have a type six in your life, you probably already know they're the ones double checking the locks, triple checking the flight itineraries and the flight statuses, and then wondering, what if the pilot gets food poisoning?
00:01:51
KateLynn Bundy
So this is my, this is, this episode is for all my sixes, all my non-sixes who love a six and anyone who's ever rehearsed an exit, emergency exit plan at lunch.
00:02:03
KateLynn Bundy
Let's get into it. So what are the core blueprints of our beautiful sixes? I don't have a lot of sixes in my life that I actively know of. So this is also great reminder, refresh, refresh sesh.
00:02:18
KateLynn Bundy
That's a difficult way to say that. You know what i mean for me. So, um, that's why I need to like get this out there more and learn and get more sixes in my life. I want to learn more about you guys. So hit me up if you're one, but sixes are the loyalists or the loyal skeptics of the Enneagram. And that second word skeptic, that's super important because it's not blind loyalty. It's loyalty with conditions, okay? It's like, I love you. I'll stick by you forever.
00:02:50
KateLynn Bundy
But if you betray me, I've already imagined 17 different ways you might do it. So don't even fucking try me. So at their core, sixes are motivated by fear and the need for security, which obviously,
00:03:05
KateLynn Bundy
is their basic fear. So their basic desire, do you want to take anything else, is to find security and support. So their super ego message says, you are good or okay if you do what is expected of you.
00:03:19
KateLynn Bundy
Super interesting. So those sixes, our sixes, it's going to be really annoying saying that letter or that number. just sounds weird. um Anyway, our sixes are the loyalists of the Enneagram because honestly, no one does commitment like them. They'll stay on your sinking ship. they'll They'll grab the snacks. They'll start Googling how to build a life raft out of the remains of

Motivations and Challenges of Sixes

00:03:44
KateLynn Bundy
the ship. And long after the other types like me have probably swum to shore, they'll
00:03:50
KateLynn Bundy
Their loyalty stretches to people, causes, or even systems, because sometimes ah even sometimes even to the idea that all systems are little bit shady and should be challenged. So not every six, as though it might appear so, not every six is rule following. Right.
00:04:11
KateLynn Bundy
Some are anti-authority rebels, others are cautious guardians, but all of them are fierce defenders of what they believe in. Amen. Sometimes, right? I'm just kidding.
00:04:24
KateLynn Bundy
um They'll go harder for the people or their values than they will um do for themselves mostly. It sounds very reminiscent of a type one who stands on their moral high ground and But there are key differences between them as you will come to find out. But I do wonder if a type six and a type one would like vibe or would they like clash?
00:04:47
KateLynn Bundy
Let me know your thoughts. But anyway, so why so much loyalty? Where is this coming from? Because underneath it, it's their basic fear, being abandoned without support.
00:05:00
KateLynn Bundy
um So their core struggle is self-loyalty. confidence. They doubt that they have the inner resources to face life solo. So they can, so they lean heavily on um allies, structures, or just trusted beliefs. beliefs And if the right support system doesn't exist, what are they doing? They're going to start the group chat, set up the meeting and make, make one from scratch. Basically they'll, they're going figure it out.
00:05:26
KateLynn Bundy
So quick rewind. You know how we entered the head thinking triad, last week's episode, the type five, go back to the triad episode if you don't know what I'm talking about, and also the type five episode.
00:05:41
KateLynn Bundy
um The six sits smack dab in the middle of that head triad, which makes them the most tangled up with their in their own mind.
00:05:52
KateLynn Bundy
very complicated space we're about to find out. So they're the ones who are dealing with the most anxiety. It's like they're anxious about being anxious.
00:06:03
KateLynn Bundy
They don't lack thinking. They overthink, which just saying that sentence is exhausting. Worry is their cardio.

The Struggle for Self-Trust

00:06:12
KateLynn Bundy
This creates a constant tension for them. They second guess their own decisions decisions, but also resist anyone making choices for them.
00:06:21
KateLynn Bundy
It's like, Don't tell me what to do, but also please tell me what to do. I think we've all been there before, right? Anyway. Because sixes are always scanning for safety nets, they often feel like they can't move forward without proper backup.
00:06:38
KateLynn Bundy
But when that if and when that backup crumbles, the panic mode kicks in. So cue this inner soundtrack that's like, I'm all alone. It's all up to me. Someone quick, hand me the emergency binder I definitely made for this exact scenario. Okay.
00:06:53
KateLynn Bundy
That kind of sounds like Leslie Knope. Nope. I swear I'm going to stop bringing up Leslie Knope. Maybe. So they want to know that they can trust people, systems, and then also themselves. But here is the kicker.
00:07:08
KateLynn Bundy
They don't always trust their own judgment. That's why sixes often look outside of themselves for reassurance, like mentors, communities, partners, even like Google reviews, believe it or not.
00:07:23
KateLynn Bundy
Their worldview is basically the world is a dangerous place and I need to prepare for every possible scenario. Like, like, it's like, um, Sixes are the ones who packs the snacks and extra charger and a mini first aid kit just for the two hour car ride, like chill out.
00:07:42
KateLynn Bundy
But until a six learns to trust their own inner compass, they're basically a human ping pong ball bouncing back and forth between whatever opinion, authority, or TikTok conspiracy that's hitting the hardest at the moment. this This reactivity makes sixes one massive thing.
00:08:03
KateLynn Bundy
walking contradiction. Sounds really fun, isn't it? But honestly, it's it's part of their charm. They're strong and cheeky, brave and nervous, trusting and suspicious, defenders and instigators, right? Sweet and salty, passive and aggressive.
00:08:19
KateLynn Bundy
You get where I'm going with this, right? Sixes are, here we go. Sixes are like a box of chocolates. You never know which one you're gonna get.
00:08:31
KateLynn Bundy
It's all right. had to do it. Like the door was there. The joke was there. you do it. You do it. Okay. But it ah definitely applies to what we're talking about here.

Courage and Preparedness in Sixes

00:08:41
KateLynn Bundy
So, but the real snag is that they try to create safety.
00:08:47
KateLynn Bundy
outside of themselves without actually dealing with the insecurity that's on the inside, okay? But when a six starts facing their fears head on, everything changes. They realize the world is always going to be unpredictable and ridiculous, right? But they don't have to panic about it.
00:09:07
KateLynn Bundy
and That's when sixes discover their real superpowers, being calm and courageous, in all this chaos and finding peace within themselves, even when life refuses to hand them like a clear rule book. Like we'd all love that, right?
00:09:23
KateLynn Bundy
So here's the paradox. While they crave safety, they're also some of the bravest people in the Enneagram because they're constantly facing down fear. may not be obvious.
00:09:35
KateLynn Bundy
there The sixes are the ones who will say, Yeah, I'm terrified, but I'm still going to do it. And that's gutsy. I vibe with that hardcore.
00:09:47
KateLynn Bundy
um All right. So let's talk about um the good stuff, right? You're catching on to the cadence of how we do things over here. We We do the sugary sweet stuff and then we do the unfun stuff next.
00:10:01
KateLynn Bundy
But let's give sixes our flowers here because we love a healthy babe of any type, but a healthy six. is essential to have in your life.
00:10:12
KateLynn Bundy
And you're about to find out why. Here are their superpowers, okay? First, if you haven't figured this one out, loyalty. they Ride or die doesn't even begin to cover it, all right? If a six decides you're in their circle, you could call them at 3 a.m.
00:10:30
KateLynn Bundy
post-breakup emergency and your life in shambles and they're like, I'm already in the car, give me the rundown. Like, they're on their way. Like we need that in our life. Second is preparedness. You ever feel safe just because a six is around?
00:10:46
KateLynn Bundy
Yeah, they've already scoped out the exits, checked the weather, downloaded the offline map for the hiking trip or whatever. And you can relax because they're basically your personal human seatbelt.
00:10:58
KateLynn Bundy
This actually reminds me, quick side quest questions. story of a actual hiking trip that my friends and I went on. um We went to Banff, Canada, and it was balls to the wall, right? I barely had time to sleep. And there were a couple of days where we're waking up, like not even at the ass crack of dawn. It was like 3 a.m. We're waking up.
00:11:21
KateLynn Bundy
And it it was like the day before we were about to leave and they, they were so dead set on doing a um sunrise hike. So hiking up a fucking mountain just to catch the dumb ass sunrise.
00:11:32
KateLynn Bundy
I'm sorry. I love the sunrise. I love what God has made this earth, but like I was exhausted. So i was like, guys, I've seen a sunrise on a mountain before. i think I'll be okay if I miss this. I'll be at peace with myself, but almost all of them have FOMO.
00:11:50
KateLynn Bundy
I do not. least not to that degree anyway. So they get up at like 3 drive like an hour to this hiking a trailhead And they do the thing, right?
00:12:03
KateLynn Bundy
I don't really know what time they were supposed to be back, but um I was curious and I knew they weren't going to have cell service. Anyway, long story short. They finally get back like mid-morning and i was like, how was it? Show me the pictures. And they're like, we were so dumb because we should have told you exactly where we were at and like had ah some sort of plan in place in case something went wrong because they're hiking up them a mountain with zero cell service
00:12:36
KateLynn Bundy
and bear spray and it's pitch black with their little headlamps and they were walking up they were telling me they're like we actually got pretty scared like someone even started praying and I'm like no way it's like I don't know why I didn't think of that because I'm a big true crime fanatic but And that's kind of common sense. You just like give people your coordinates just in case if something goes wrong, this is what you can do.
00:13:02
KateLynn Bundy
ah six, if a six was in that group of friends, this would have never happened. Thank God they were okay and safe, but it was just a funny example of how that would have not happened if a type six was in that group. um Anyway, two more left here.

Value of Sixes in Organizations

00:13:21
KateLynn Bundy
The third, um what are we calling them, superpowers here, is humor. I'll say that. People sleep on this one for our sixes. Sixes are funny. They're human. human hu Their humor is pretty sarcastic, self-depreciating, or even just, like, observational. It's the, like...
00:13:40
KateLynn Bundy
what if like society collapsed and we have to live off of squirrels, LOL, which is funny. And I've definitely have been in those conversations before, but um it's funny until you realize that they've actually thought through how to like trap squirrels in a good way. Cause remember they have a type five wing.
00:13:59
KateLynn Bundy
So that research part of them is, is in their heart, is in their like psyche. Right. um Lastly, This is another obvious one. Courage. Sixes don't get enough credit for this because it's just not so tangible and obvious with our vision, but they're anxious and also brave at the same time. Like anyone can be courageous when they're not afraid, right? But sixes, they walk into fear daily and still show up. And that's, that's brave just because we can't see it.
00:14:30
KateLynn Bundy
They're not lifting cars off of little children. Come on. So, Healthy sixes are like the marathon runners of the Enneagram.
00:14:42
KateLynn Bundy
They've got insane endurance and get things done through slow, steady persistence. They're not, and they're not flashy about it either. You won't catch them bragging like, I just crushed this project in three days, like a type three would do.
00:14:58
KateLynn Bundy
Sorry, guys. Hold on. I got to pause one second. Sorry about that, I had to take a call from the post office because they're not delivering our mail to our new address.
00:15:10
KateLynn Bundy
Long story. Home ownership problems, am I right? Anyway, where was I? yeah. Type sixes. they're They have great work ethic. They're not flashy about um their stuff like the type threes. I just said that.
00:15:27
KateLynn Bundy
But and type sixes, they're the ones quietly grinding away, proving that success really is 10% inspiration perspiration. That's hard sentence to perspiration a hard sentence to say But they obsess over details, organize resources like prose, and finish what they start.
00:15:48
KateLynn Bundy
They're often, i love, I always love that. um They're often tying their sense of value to how dependable and thorough their work is. So high-functioning sixes worship at the altar of reliability and craftsmanship. And they usually deliver it as well, which, amen, sis.
00:16:07
KateLynn Bundy
So because type sixes are naturally on guard, they have this uncanny radar spotting problems before they even blow up. theyre They're the ones seeing the iceberg before the Titanic even like is close to it. I'm sorry. i had to say it.
00:16:24
KateLynn Bundy
But in corporate, the real world, well, current times, in corporate life, this makes them absolutely priceless. So if you're a CEO or no one, you gotta listen because you gotta hire a six. They'll save your company millions just by catching mistakes early. They are so good at that.
00:16:44
KateLynn Bundy
And they're also natural troubleshooters. The ultimate, I told you so, prevention plan, okay? This is another reason why companies should invest in the Enneagram, okay?
00:16:55
KateLynn Bundy
That's all gonna say about that. So they also like to keep life running smoothly, which is why sixes pay their bills on time, um renew insurance policies early, and probably have their dentist appointment set up for next year already.
00:17:10
KateLynn Bundy
But they're not in it for the spotlight either. Sixes thrive on teamwork, asking what needs to be done and then doing it. Oh, that just makes my heart so happy.
00:17:22
KateLynn Bundy
They remind us that cooperation, service, and a strong sense of commitment can move mountains. So for sixes, nothing feels better than being part of something bigger than themselves.
00:17:36
KateLynn Bundy
You'll most likely see them alongside the type twos, volunteering on Thanksgiving, handing out turkey plates. Like, yeah got God bless them, okay?

Growth and Mindfulness for Sixes

00:17:46
KateLynn Bundy
But on our trusty diagram, where do our sixes go when they actualize and remain healthy?
00:17:53
KateLynn Bundy
When they are at their best, they channel their growth to, you want guess? They channel it to the type nine. Their arrow is toward the nine. That's when they get grounded, balanced, and just chill.
00:18:09
KateLynn Bundy
Like a six who's like finally found the off switch for their brain. I mean, we all need that, right? To find the stability that they crave, they have to turn their body yeah and into the present moment.
00:18:23
KateLynn Bundy
they have to turn to their body um and in the present moment. I said that wrong. But many sixes, as you'll know, are active or like really athletic. But true grounding isn't about running the 5K. It's about noticing the air in your lungs and the floor under your feet.
00:18:41
KateLynn Bundy
And once they learn to tune into their body's real-time sensations, it balances out all that mental overdrive. it's giving them a much deeper sense of peace and presence.
00:18:52
KateLynn Bundy
And if a six wants to learn to meditate, it's actually, that's exactly how they need to do it. It's really, you don't have to go. on It's really easy. I used to do this like method when I have a hard time falling asleep.
00:19:06
KateLynn Bundy
But if you just like have a quiet room, lay down, close your eyes and just breathe. You just kind of mentally think about like the top of your head and move, Mentally move down to your neck, your shoulders relax, any muscles that are tight, and just keep moving down your body and connecting with each area. What does it feel like?
00:19:26
KateLynn Bundy
What is it doing? And literally, that's it. that That will be groundbreaking for our sixes. But at first, ah centering themselves in their physical sensations, it might produce feelings of panic or dread, particularly if a six has suffered trauma in their past.
00:19:46
KateLynn Bundy
And it's not uncommon for sixes from abusive backgrounds to like literally physically shake as they start to occupy their bodies a little bit more. So it's important to note and realize that such...
00:19:59
KateLynn Bundy
these Those physical reactions are just the body's way of processing old fears and hurts, and it's not um indications of present danger. That sounds like an obvious statement, but it is important to remember just so you don't, like, snap out of it.
00:20:14
KateLynn Bundy
um But if sixes are able to sense themselves and their anxious feelings without reacting to them, they begin to come into a more open and trusting experience of life.
00:20:25
KateLynn Bundy
And from this position of ah of grounded openness, if you will, sixes are able to recognize the common bonds that they share with all of humanity.
00:20:37
KateLynn Bundy
They feel inclusive and accepting of others regardless of what of whether their views or lifestyles are familiar to them. They're filled with courage that's It's not a counter phobic reaction to fear, but an actual force in of itself and their courage arises from a feeling of inner solidity and of profound connection with themselves and with all living things. It's so ethereal, right? But it's true.
00:21:04
KateLynn Bundy
So integrating sixes, like healthy nines, can approach tremendous challenges and even tragedies and threats with inner balance and equanimity.

Anxiety and Stress in Sixes

00:21:16
KateLynn Bundy
We need that. We need that in our life. So moving on. to the real fun stuff. Sixes, cover your ears. Actually no, lean in We're gonna go there. We're going there, we're doing it. All right, here are your anti-powers, if you will.
00:21:33
KateLynn Bundy
First, anxiety. Sorry. Sixes can get stuck in worst case scenario thinking. Like you get a text that says, can we talk later? And suddenly you're fired or dumped, sued, and drafted into war.
00:21:52
KateLynn Bundy
Let's just take a deep breath. That's not actually happening. Second one, indecisiveness. Because they doubt their own judgment, sixes can ping-pong forever between opinions like, do I want tacos? Do I want pizza? What if tacos give me food poisoning?
00:22:07
KateLynn Bundy
What if pizza makes me too bloated? and two hours later, you're still trying to figure it out and you're still hungry. um Third is suspicion.
00:22:20
KateLynn Bundy
Sixes can sometimes project their inner fears onto others, questioning motives like... Why did she compliment my sweater? Is she mocking me? Does she want something? Is this a trap?
00:22:32
KateLynn Bundy
Sometimes a sweater is just a sweater, babe. And that's it. Okay. Yeah. but Next authority struggles. Yeah. We've got some issues with authorities over here, but here's a paradox. Sixes both crave and resist authority. They want someone to tell them it's all going to be okay.
00:22:53
KateLynn Bundy
um But they also don't fully trust that person. It's like downloading the antivirus software, but still like side-eyeing your computer. Like, what's the point? But on the Enneagram diagram, when sixes pour all of their energy into building, you know, quote, security systems and the stress levels start cranking up way past what they can actually manage, they slide toward, take a guess, take a guess, type three, kind of hinted on that earlier.
00:23:27
KateLynn Bundy
If you've listened to type three episode, especially the little, little shadow side bits, this is like, you know, go back and listen to that. It'll, it'll, you'll learn some stuff under it or about it because of it.
00:23:38
KateLynn Bundy
You know what i mean? Okay. Sixes under stress start acting more like threes. They're more driven, hyperproductive, sometimes like full-on workaholic, and they double down on trying to fit in, ah adapting themselves to whatever environment that they're in and polishing their image to look like the model employee or the ah perfect friend or, you know, ideal family member.
00:24:03
KateLynn Bundy
And suddenly, They're obsessed with appearances, the perfect outfit, jargon or vibe, and just anything to win approval and avoid rejection. Because remember, at their core, it's still that same six motivation, craving, security, and support.
00:24:22
KateLynn Bundy
The big wake-up call for sixes is when they notice they're outsourcing their safety, looking for a sure thing in guidance or validation that's outside of themselves.
00:24:35
KateLynn Bundy
That's the moment you know they're leaning real hard on that three arrow, okay? And just like threes, Stressed sixes can get a little competitive, usually by clinging to groups or beliefs, whether it's their favorite sports team.
00:24:52
KateLynn Bundy
Like every single Bears fan I know, i bet they're all type sixes. Sorry if you're Bears fan and you're a six. That would be so funny. Please tell me if that's you.
00:25:04
KateLynn Bundy
or um they can cling on to their workplace, their country, or their religion, right? This identification can morph into boastfulness and self-promotion, putting others down just to prop themselves up.
00:25:19
KateLynn Bundy
And in more extreme cases, it can slide into dishonesty, exaggerating their backgrounds, exploiting themselves or others, and hyping superiority, right?
00:25:30
KateLynn Bundy
superiority That's a hard word. As a defense against low self-esteem and feelings of inact inadequacy, right? That sounds like that three that we went over already. At their worst, this becomes an exhausting cycle of rivalry, comparison, and that desperate need to win all costs.
00:25:52
KateLynn Bundy
So earlier, um we brushed up on the topic of anxiety, but I'd like to zoom in just a wee little more because for my sixes listening, this is both your biggest struggle, but also it's your biggest teacher. i know, hate to say it, but here's the kicker.
00:26:12
KateLynn Bundy
Sixes aren't just anxious, right? Remember, they're anxious about being anxious. But unlike some other types who either bury it, they dodge it, or just disguise it up, sixes are fully aware of their nervous energy. They take, like take type fives, for example.
00:26:29
KateLynn Bundy
They detach from their feelings and they retreat into their minds. They just separate from themselves. Or the sevens, like we'll talk about next week, they um sprint from one distraction to the next to avoid slowing down long enough to feel their anxiety, okay?
00:26:46
KateLynn Bundy
But the sixes... they feel it right there in the moment. Sometimes they can manage to push it push back against it, and sometimes it just completely takes over them.
00:26:58
KateLynn Bundy
So to cope, sixes generally use two different strategies to cope, the phobic route or the counterphobic route.
00:27:10
KateLynn Bundy
Let's get into that, shall we? Phobic sixes lean into their anxiety in a dependent way. They know that they're afraid, and so they turn to others, especially authority figures, for reassurance and protection.
00:27:25
KateLynn Bundy
This makes them more self-doubting and emotionally vulnerable, often looking like um they can look like a type four in this scenario within the sensitivity.
00:27:36
KateLynn Bundy
So phobic six is play it safe by keeping a low profile, not rocking the boat too much, and avoiding conflict in the very systems or relationships that they rely on for safety.
00:27:48
KateLynn Bundy
And deep down they're terrified that the very people or structures that they count on will abandon them or let them down. or leave them, right, altogether.
00:28:00
KateLynn Bundy
So like the other one, counterphobic sixes, they're far more, they're like the opposite, right? and They're more likely to challenge or outright rebel against authority. Instead of seeking safety through compliance, they just confront it head on.
00:28:17
KateLynn Bundy
They tend to be more suspicious than the phobic sixes, and they put um extra effort into proving their independence, right? resisting the urge to rely on others. And this can make them look like a type eight, which yes, that tracks rather than sitting on are in their anxiety, right?
00:28:39
KateLynn Bundy
They try to push it down through action. Amen. um But at the average levels, that can make them be really defensive, ah quick to push back if they feel questioned, right? They want to they want clarity about where people stand.
00:28:55
KateLynn Bundy
So they may deliberately like, you know, push the buttons or provoke people just to get reactions to see where they stand and what their true colors are.
00:29:06
KateLynn Bundy
um But deep down, counterphobic sixes are afraid of being deceived or exploited. And when conflict shows up, they can meet it with full on confrontation.
00:29:17
KateLynn Bundy
Very type eight. But there's but there's a twist here beneath all that bluster. They're just as anxious and as fearful as the phobic sixes.
00:29:28
KateLynn Bundy
The aggression is just simply a cover for all their worry. It is important to note here that you're not just one or the other counterphobic or phobic.
00:29:39
KateLynn Bundy
it It really depends

Decision-Making and Personality Wings

00:29:40
KateLynn Bundy
on the situation. a six can show up as phobic or counterphobic, but at the root, it it lies the same issue, right? An ongoing sense of being unsupported.
00:29:50
KateLynn Bundy
So on the deepest level, sixes doubt whether they can even support them. themselves They don't fully trust their own ability to make decisions, especially when those choices affect their security.
00:30:03
KateLynn Bundy
This leads to second guessing, okay? Making a decision and then immediately fearing that it was the wrong one. We all can relate to that, right? But because they feel shaky about trusting themselves, what do they do? They reach outward for a partner, the job, or just a trusted friend, a therapist, or even like, you know, spiritual guide they found on YouTube, right?
00:30:28
KateLynn Bundy
And once they do, they stay on high alert, constantly monitoring those supports just to make sure that they'll hold steady when life gets tough, right? They're They're trying to keep a lot of boats from not rocking around, okay?
00:30:43
KateLynn Bundy
I will say, just like the five, um and my difficulty in, like i mentioned last week, in trying to accurately and thoroughly depict them as a whole, the same goes for the six.
00:30:56
KateLynn Bundy
Almost even more so. I could keep going and going with the six because their psyche is just continually changing it It could be helpful seeing the sixes as ambiverts or a mixture of introverted and extroverted feelings.
00:31:13
KateLynn Bundy
This is why they react to whatever they have done, especially if anxiety has been aroused by doing the opposite to compensate. So our lovely sixes are beautifully complex, and you can trust that I'll be diving deeper into your your brains and your hearts in a future episode, but I just, I did, there was just so much. i was like I did not know what to keep in and leave out.
00:31:38
KateLynn Bundy
But this is a podcast. There's no end date to this. Okay. um All right. Let's quickly touch on the wings of a six. Again, we'll do more of that in a future episode. So the wings.
00:31:55
KateLynn Bundy
Sixes can lean in, like any other type, lean in two directions, and it really spices them up, eh? So the six wing five are our defenders, if you will.
00:32:07
KateLynn Bundy
This six leans more intellectual, more private, more cautious. They've got more of that skeptical, I need to research 27 articles before I decide kind of thing.
00:32:18
KateLynn Bundy
And think of them as a person with a bunker stocked for doomsday. So accurate. I wonder if all those like hardcore doomsdayers are six.
00:32:29
KateLynn Bundy
Hmm. We need to research that. um Anyway, the six wing seven is our little buddies. We call them our buddies. The six is more outgoing. You'll find out next week when our step we talk about our sevens. I don't think there's an introverted seven.
00:32:44
KateLynn Bundy
I'm serious. But this six leans outgoing. They're fun, adventurous, but a little anxious still. It's like, let's go skydiving. Wait, but did they check the parachutes twice? Can I see the receipt?
00:32:56
KateLynn Bundy
Right? They're social. They're charming. And the friends who... they They're the one who convinces everyone to take the trip, but also secretly carries that travel insurance policy.
00:33:08
KateLynn Bundy
Both wings, they still deal with the fear, but the five wing pulls it inward while the seven wing pushes it outward. One builds a bunker, the other one plans the party. Sometimes they're the same person. Isn't that kind of fun?
00:33:22
KateLynn Bundy
That'd be a fun doomsdayer kind of person. All right. How can our sixes... develop how can they evolve and be the best versions of themselves possible the good news here six is you are not doomed to a life of spirals and what ifs there's actual practices that can help you grow into your little perfect not perfect but you know what I mean your Your best self, okay?

Techniques for Personal Growth

00:33:51
KateLynn Bundy
First off, we got a couple here. First off, trust your inner guidance. It's gonna take some time, okay? Sixes often outsource their decision-making, but the real work is learning to trust your own inner compass, okay? Journaling, meditation, or simply pausing before asking for reassurance can really help. Just take a quick beat, think about it,
00:34:17
KateLynn Bundy
Zone in. Okay. Next grounding practices. Anxiety lives in the body. I have an excellent book recommendation that feels appropriate right now.
00:34:30
KateLynn Bundy
Um, if you like to read, which I'm pretty sure you, you know what? I don't care if you don't like to read, pick up a fucking book that will help you. Okay. I can't stand. I don't like you read. If it's going to help you also with practically free, you don't have to go to therapy. If you don't, that's the whole thing.
00:34:47
KateLynn Bundy
This is a great book recommendation. um Living the Non-Anxious Life by Dr. dr John Deloney. Look it up. It will change your life because anxiety does live in the body.
00:35:01
KateLynn Bundy
So moving on. So things like breath work, yoga, or just taking a simple walk can shift our sixes from their spinning mind back into their body.
00:35:14
KateLynn Bundy
You can benefit super greatly from nature, even if it's just a little bitty walk, like I said, swim, gardening, gardening, gardening is getting really popular these days. At least that's what I've been seeing on TikTok.
00:35:26
KateLynn Bundy
Um, But don't use these practices to worry or fret about the future. Like don't go to you know, weed your garden and like do it out of rage while you're like worried about something.
00:35:39
KateLynn Bundy
Focus on what you're doing and that's it, okay? Next, exposure therapy. Woohoo! But make it fun, seriously. Do small things that scare you and celebrate them when you survive, okay? Order the tacos, speak up in the meeting, book the flight, remind yourself, I can handle this, okay?
00:36:01
KateLynn Bundy
Second to last, community, not Dependency. Sixes thrive in community, but need to watch what they um that they don't become dependent on those external voices. okay Find your trusted friends. Everyone needs that, but don't let them make every choice for you.
00:36:21
KateLynn Bundy
right Why do you feel that others will know better than you? That's a good question to journal. Turn more to what your heart and instincts are telling you. It'll take some practice, like all of these will, but trust yourself more, please.
00:36:34
KateLynn Bundy
Okay. um And on a different note, get to know more people from different backgrounds or beliefs. And as you get to know just all sorts of people, you'll start to feel more comfortable in the world.
00:36:47
KateLynn Bundy
Weird little tip, but trust me on that one. Okay. Lastly,
00:36:55
KateLynn Bundy
Take some time to laugh give yourself a couple of mantras, okay? Have a ah little self-talk, goes a long way. Something like, I've handled everything life has thrown at me so far, I can handle this too, okay? And sprinkle some humor in there.
00:37:11
KateLynn Bundy
Because laughing at the what ifs can make them smaller, like, a okay, it's not that big of a deal. And try to notice how much time you so you spend trying to figure out how to handle future problems. And also, in reality, how often they actually happen?
00:37:29
KateLynn Bundy
Quieting your mind can help clear out that mental chaos so you can focus on the present and what's truly important. I actually have, um this reminds me of a ah little mantra written on a post-it right now on my computer for my day job because it's awful.
00:37:47
KateLynn Bundy
And it's wildly unpredictable and it applies here. But write this one down if you have a pen. It's things are always working out for me no matter how it looks at any point in time. I'm going say it one more time.
00:38:03
KateLynn Bundy
Things are always working out for me, no matter how it looks at any point in time. That one, it grounds me. It reminds me to take a deep breath. I've gotten here for a reason and things are good. So I don't know where I got that from, ah but take it and run with it. i don't care. i steal it.
00:38:21
KateLynn Bundy
All right. Closing thoughts here.

The Resilience and Loyalty of Sixes

00:38:25
KateLynn Bundy
So my sixes, my beautiful sixes, the world is uncertain. Yes, things are going to go wrong, but guess what?
00:38:34
KateLynn Bundy
You're also resourceful. You are resilient and courageous, not in the absence of fear, but right through the middle of it. You're just not the loyal friend. You're the brave skeptic. And the rest of us, we'd absolutely be lost.
00:38:50
KateLynn Bundy
without you. You keep us safe, you make us laugh, and honestly, you're the reason why we you yeah we brought snacks. Remember to bring snacks to the thing, right? and But deep down, sixes carry the memory almost like an echo in their bones that the universe is actually benevolent and that life itself is supporting them completely.
00:39:11
KateLynn Bundy
Beneath all the overthinking and the anxious scanning of the environment, there's this deeper truth. that they are held, right? When their minds finally quiet down, even for a moment, sixes begin to notice an inner spaciousness, like a wide open sky that forms the very ground of being, right? It's not just some airy spiritual concept either.
00:39:36
KateLynn Bundy
They come to realize that this essence is real, concrete, and more stable than anything the mind could construct. In fact, it's the truest reality, the very foundation of of existence itself.
00:39:51
KateLynn Bundy
And people throughout history have described this inner peace and as a kind of direction or ah like a direct connection to the presence of God. It's the sense that this supportive presence is always manifesting moment by moment. And it's always available no matter what chaos is unfolding externally in our lives.
00:40:14
KateLynn Bundy
And when Sixes glimpse this truth, something inside them shifts. They no longer feel like the fragile boat that's being tossed around by every wave of doubt and every wave of of fear.
00:40:27
KateLynn Bundy
and instead, they experience themselves as rooted and unshakable, as if they're standing on a vast slab of granite that extends endlessly beneath their feet.
00:40:38
KateLynn Bundy
That inner grounding, that inner ground becomes one form of security that cannot be taken away. From here, ah courage naturally begins to flow. Not the counterphobic, fake it till I make it bravado, but a genuine quiet strength.
00:40:57
KateLynn Bundy
Love that. It's the kind of courage that allows a six to walk into a stressful meeting without rehearsing 50 outcomes to say, I want to raise or something like that without needing to predict their response or take a leap of faith in their career without having a backup plan for their backup plan, right?
00:41:17
KateLynn Bundy
They realized the safety they they were searching for in people and in their systems that was always within themselves all the time, woven into

Conclusion and Encouragement

00:41:28
KateLynn Bundy
your very being. And when the sixes trust that, they become some of the most steady and resilient and proof profoundly brave people that you'll ever meet.
00:41:38
KateLynn Bundy
Okay? So keep showing up, sixes. We, i had to burp. We love you sixes. But that is on today's episode. Please tell me what you thought. Find me on the socials, email me directly, or you can, that you can find in the show notes.
00:41:56
KateLynn Bundy
um But yeah, remember there's that Calendly link. If you want to learn more about your sixness and all that stuff. um And I'm going to do my best to put out an episode for Next week, there's been a lot of transition with my personal life and the move and traveling. So I'm busting these out when I can, but without, you know, overextending myself. But we'll be getting back to a regular scheduling programming very soon. So thanks for supporting the dream rate review. Until next time, stay grounded, stay weird, and don't stop being you.
