it's It's a tough one, isn't it? the To me, the best team won on the night. um I don't think we're that bad in the first half. In fact, I think we're pretty even in the first half. But the second half, as Kev pointed out before we even came on, the tactics were definitely changed on their side, whereas maybe not so much on ours. And are we, as such, missing?

Obviously, you want to win every game. It was always going to be the toughest game out of the three in that week, or that three over six days. And Villa are very good team, as much as I don't like saying because I'm not a massive fan of Villa.

I know Ian disagrees, but we've had that discussion already. and But yeah, we are a very, very good team. And I think the biggest difference was, think the first half, they were still the better team.

I think we hit the post twice in the first half. So we were riding our look a little bit. But yeah, they came out slightly different tactically and we didn't really adapt to that. I don't know if that was Eddie not being there, if Eddie would have spotted it, it's impossible to know.

But the other thing which really took a toll, um I believe, is the subs and the strength and depth of each squad. and We had Rashford coming off the bench, Marlon coming off the bench. and There was a couple of others as well. I can't remember off top my head. but And we had Willek, who's a good player, but again, I think he's better when he's in the team regularly. Wilson just hasn't been right since his injury.

And I think after that, you're struggling to find a player to change a game. Gordon's a very good player, but again, he's missed a lot of football recently through suspension and a slight knock. So, That was the biggest difference for me when the subs came on with O'Nana was another one who came on for Villa.

And you just think, bringing that powerhouse on 60 minutes in, it's not what you want when you're a midfield three who's in the sixth half in six days.

And again, it's disappointing. But I mean, you do lose in the Prem.

And there'll be other shock results with other teams and maybe one with us. But, look, this is a Premier League. I still think we'll be okay for the top four. of But Villa were very good. Better team won on the day. and They deserved it. We didn't deserve anything out of that game. So, you've just got to move on from haven't you?

They did. mean, it was funny one because it wasn't really a shock result at the same time, was it? Out the three games I did say I thought Villa was going to be the toughest one. At the end of the day, they're right up with us. Now they're only two points behind us.

Champions League contention as well. They've obviously just beat a very good PSG team. As much as they went out, they still were unreal against them in the second leg. um So we're unfortunate to go out in the end.

But You know, old all things aside, I think, you know, we could have lost to a worse team, put it that way. So I'm not going to say too much of a slight on it. And guess what? Two of them are on goals, man. Really, it was just 2-1, right? So the score makes it look better than it was.

I think I were very similar. i mean, it was always the game that we had earmarked when we did our prediction, Joanne Wright, from 11 games left. We predicted five wins and then we would lose this one.

I think rather than be completely depressed in a way Liverpool were before the Carabao Cup by being knocked out by PSG, Villa were uplifted by how close they came.

So, as much as I'm going to stay ultra positive and say that we're going to do it, it just, again, puts it all back in our hands that we must keep fighting.
