Speaker: The following podcast is a Jill dev Divine Media production. We're just normal kids learning about God's big story. Welcome to Normal Goes Along With.
Speaker: For kids! Hi friends, welcome back as we explore another part of God's big story. I'm Miss April, and today we are going to learn about Hannah.
Speaker: Not Miss Hannah from the podcast, but Hannah from the Bible. Last week, our Miss Hannah asked, who did God put in your life to help you? Here's what you told us.
Speaker: My big brother and my big sisters. God sent mom and dad to help me. My teacher, so she can help me through my math and when I have to go to work on my reading.
Speaker: My brother, because whenever we were younger, we did everything together. My parents, because when I need something, they're always there for me. I love that question, and i love those answers.
Speaker: I am an adult, and my mom and dad are still so helpful to me. I am so very thankful that God gives us helpers. Today, we'll hear from an awesome kid with some super fun facts about babies.
Speaker: It's time for the Faux Pass. Hi, I'm Penelope and I'm seven years old. Babies have three times more taste buds than an adult.
Speaker: Newborn babies can only see black, white, and shades of gray. Adults have 206 bones. Babies have 300 bones. The bones grow together as they get older.
Speaker: The Bible tells us that children are a blessing and a gift from God. If you've been around a baby lately, you may have noticed that people love to spend time with babies.
Speaker: They are super cute. They make us laugh. And something about them reminds us that God is so, so good. Maybe you've been around a kid lately, or maybe you yourself are a kid.
Speaker: God says that you are a wonderful blessing. Isn't that awesome? God says that you you are an amazing gift to your family and to the world. Today, we will learn about a woman who wanted this kind of blessing in her life.
Speaker: Hannah desperately wanted God to bless her with a baby. The Israelites, God's people, were living in the land that God had promised them. At that time, there was a place called the Tabernacle where God's people would go to worship God and be in his presence.
Speaker: This woman named Hannah went with her husband again and again, praying to God that he would bless her with a child. She wanted with all of her heart to become pregnant.
Speaker: One day when Hannah was praying in the Tabernacle, a priest named Eli saw her. Eli was an important worker at the Tabernacle. He noticed that Hannah was praying so hard that tears were rolling down her cheeks.
Speaker: Dear Heavenly Father, please give me a child of my own. i know you can see how sad I am. If you will answer my prayer, Lord, I promise that my child will be a special worker for you.
Speaker: God listens to people when they pray. The Lord listened to Hannah's prayers. She became pregnant with a precious baby boy named Samuel. Hannah's heart was full of joy.
Speaker: She was so grateful that God had listened to her prayers. Hannah taught Samuel all about God because she wanted her son to know him. When Samuel got older, Hannah took Samuel to the tabernacle and found Eli.
Speaker: Do you remember me? Hannah asked. I prayed for this child and God answered my prayer. I promised God that Samuel would serve him all the days of his life.
Speaker: So I have brought him to you. Eli agreed to take care of Samuel while he was working at the tabernacle and to teach him everything he could about God.
Speaker: Samuel learned so much from Eli and he grew to love God with all of his heart. One night while sleeping, Samuel heard a voice calling his name. The boy thought it must be the priest Eli, so he got up and went to him.
Speaker: Eli said, I did not call you. Go back to bed. A little while later, it happened again. Samuel heard a voice calling. Samuel, Samuel.
Speaker: He ran to Eli's bedside. I did not call you, said sleepy Eli. Go back to bed. You can imagine, you might feel pretty annoyed at this point. A third time, Samuel's name was called.
Speaker: God is calling you, Samuel. If he calls you again, say, Speak, Lord. I am ready to listen. Samuel went back to bed and waited.
Speaker: He soon heard the voice again, Samuel, Samuel. This time the boy did not go to Eli. He said, Speak, Lord. I am your servant. i am ready to listen.
Speaker: From that night God spoke clearly to Samuel. He listened to the Lord. The Israelites all knew that Samuel was a good man of God. Samuel shared God's word with the people and helped them to follow him.
Speaker: He was a great leader for God's people. So let's get to the point. God answered Hannah's prayer. God hears me pray too. What wonderful thing to know.
Speaker: God loves to hear our prayers and he is ready to help us anytime we ask. Isn't that amazing? Kind of makes you want pray right now, right? Today with your family, I want you to answer this question.
