Getting into fights and other expressions of violence.  Plus, more about stupid AI.

Transcript

Speaker: I'd really like to put my penis in some mega-capped tech stocks. I kinda wanna tap Bitcoin's pussy right now, too.

Speaker: Trust me. Trust

Speaker: me. Jesus loves us. Jesus loves us. Jesus loves us.

Speaker: Jesus loves us. Jesus loves us. Jesus loves us. Jesus loves us. Jesus loves us. No, no.

Speaker: Dude, four days empty nester, you literally look 30 years younger. Literally. You look pretty good, huh? He's so at peace, dude. He looks so at peace. He's got he's literally he's holding like gardening gloves, and he's got like a lemonade a handmade lemonade, not from a mix that he made.

Speaker: and he's what eat What is that? You're reading ah Gone with the Wind or something on your on your like in a chair in your grass in the backyard under a shady tree? Yes, sir. It's all fun.

Speaker: All fun and games, boy. Reading War and Peace. Yeah. How about that crypto, though, huh? It's popping again. Is there any reason for it? No, never. ah Yeah, I don't. I think it's tied to Treasury being willing to suppress bond yields.

Speaker: Oh, yeah. The bond market's a fucking mess, right? Or it's always that thing pops whenever there's a case for like too much government intervention and the government trying to override market forces. Then people go, we better get Bitcoin because this is why it was built. Right.

Speaker: Oh yeah. all right. So it's looked at as the anti-regulation piece or something like that. Sort of anti-currency manipulation thing. Like, oh yeah, that'll be more stable.

Speaker: I love it. I mean, it like ah in the last week, it's up like a a lot, maybe 30%. I think. I thought it was sitting around 60 and now it's around 80. Is that?

Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I think it's great. Should I get out, dude? No, I'd ride that to about 150. Mm-hmm.

Speaker: All right. But I want to stick my dick in some mega cap tech stocks, dude, because that shit is ripe. You should have a, you should do a, since you love this stuff, you should do like an IPO report.

Speaker: So far, so our listeners are up to date on when they should get in. Cause there's, isn't there some big ones coming up in the AI spectrum? These Q3, How is that not going to be, am I naive and dumb? But like, is that not just going to immediately be Like just go to the moon because everyone believes the hype?

Speaker: Or is that already built into the pricing, you think? I think it's probably close, but I'm sure there'll be some excitement. Are you scared to touch it? i don't I don't have any investments that would pick it up.

Speaker: So all yours is in funds, so you don't make a sort of a a rational one stock decision? No, no. I mean, there's a case that that particular company might be at its peak valuation in the sense that they're Chinese companies that are coming and kind of commoditizing that type of AI agent technology. I mean, they also have some high power tools, I guess, that are so high powered that they can't release them to the general population or they have to limit them to certain businesses, which kind of limits revenue. It's a mixed message, but it's ah of all the AI companies, of all the brain labs or whatever you call them, AI labs, that one seems to be the best. And they're their CEO, Dario, seems to be the most human.

Speaker: He's so hot. Yeah. He's a, he's a funny dude in that movie. You watch that movie. I told you to write the apocalypse. Like he's, he's kind of a goofy guy, but you can tell he's, is that his sister? His sister's like their co-owners or co-founders or something like that. i think so. I don't know much about him.

Speaker: I would say, as far as the looks, not that she's a 10, but I would compare her to me and him, his looks like my brothers. Because she's better looking. did you i know are you ah Did you feel like you're better looking or worse looking than your brother?

Speaker: We were so different. I don't remember you guys even looking remotely close. No, not at all. He took almost 100% from my dad's side and I took 100% from my mom's.

Speaker: That's crazy. I mean, people mistake my brother, my older brother for me in Denver a lot. So people would that One dude, actually, this guy, George, a friend of the, a Greek George, but not Serpes, and and walked up to my brother in a restaurant and flicked him on the back of the ear, like, to say hi. then my brother turned around was like, what the fuck? Had no idea who it was. And then it was like, oh my God, I'm so sorry. And then they turned out they knew each other because my sister-in-law is Greek and like they had, you know, some back channels to work through. Okay. Not to get off your thing about Dario, but that's, it you get have you seen some families though where there's like a 10 and then some real like,

Speaker: i see it I see it all the time. i see with like the kid. Now, now part of that is is the parents don't take care of themselves and you don't know what they look like back in the day, but some of the parents are just really run down and then the daughter is like yeah legit. But I'm saying siblings though.

Speaker: Oh. Like you'll get a family where you're like, oh that's that's a beautiful person or girl. And then other people in the family. i can't think of anybody off the top of my head because that would be, first off, I probably wouldn't say it on the pod since our listenership is growing.

Speaker: I'm not asking him for names. I'm just saying, how the fuck does that happen? It will it probably happens because genetics is is strange. How does one kid come out ah with Down syndrome and the other one normal?

Speaker: Who's to say what's normal now, dude? Yeah, true, true, true. But your brother's story with the guy flicking him. Have you ever gotten ah into a fight, guy? Like somebody wants to fight you and you've had to be like, hold on, fella. It's all good here. Dude, I'm not much of a... i can i can go I can go to maybe like... I can remember anyways. Only a few actual fights in my life. But none of them Like I remember one time, maybe second grade...

Speaker: Fighting with a kid where we're just kind of like rolling around in the grass and then we just stopped I don't know. I don't remember why and like walk back to recess It might have been a dad related thing and then Maybe once I remember one time on something pissed me off playing baseball and I got in someone's face and they were just like what is your problem and then but I've been I've been close to two huge bras in my life and Both when ah like, one in my college, almost like a race-related brawl um'm in the dorms, and another one at at a hotel in a tournament we were playing in Oklahoma, which was like a 15-on-15 fight, and I did i just watched.

Speaker: Yeah, fuck that. Was even, like, with, as you would imagine, with a guy from the other side that was probably like, fuck that, and we were just kind of, like, being smartasses and making fun of the whole thing.

Speaker: Yeah, yeah, yeah. That was the Oklahoma one. you never I don't know if you ever hung out after, because you might already went, well, I don't remember now when you went to prep school, but I played baseball with this traveling band of hooligans after our senior year at ah high school. Some Smoky Hill kids and some Gateway kids, as I mentioned on the show. And it was like it was a disaster wherever we went. Super fun.

Speaker: But like partying and getting into fights and all sorts of shit. but Some unstable people. i've had some Yeah, go ahead. You're a fighter. You're a fighter. I mean, not really, but I've had some incidents lately. I'm not really like, I don't want to reflect back on all the dumb shit I did when I was younger. since I did grow up in the hood. ah I've had one recently that i mentioned off here, but I'll let you, because you brought this topic up, so I'm hoping, like, some crazy shit happened to you recently. Nothing, no, nothing. I just was riding my scooter, my little scooter today, and two times on the scooter, two guys...

Speaker: Well, one time one guy was standing across the street and then you know how you like put your fist down and then like go like this. And he was just like staring me down. Like buffing up a little bit? Yeah. Other side of the street as I'm riding my scooter, this is a scooter. This is like the most non-threatening human being on the planet, like a standup scooter.

Speaker: and um And he just, he does that. And I'm just thinking to myself like, what in the fuck is this guy thinking? Like, Was he like special needs? He he's he didn't look like it.

Speaker: But I was sort of like, he wasn't homeless. He he probably probably was mentally ill. And then i had this kid same thing on a scooter.

Speaker: He just decides he's going to pull off on his bike in the middle of the street and try to, and then he's in the middle of the street. I'm coming down and he's staring me down. No reason, absolutely no reason.

Speaker: And I'm just like looking at him and laughing and wondering what in the fuck is this? This, ah he's probably 20. Like, what is he doing? Am i sort of a representative white man that like,

Speaker: you know people want to get back at, but those incidents. There's nothing else though. Not like you accidentally like. I didn't do anything. on my No, nothing at all. Nothing at all. But you know, depending upon, as you know, my temper from yesteryear, like depending on the mood I'm in, it could have created some controversy. I just looked and and kind of laughed at both of them. like I'm just like, what what the younger version might've been like, you want a piece of this basically, right?

Speaker: Oh God. And then I had the two... God. I had the two ah two dudes yelling at me riding my bike, which I've already explained, the two, like, ah Trumpers.

Speaker: And I got yelled at those fucking idiots. But I just think it's funny. But I also now have to reconcile the fact that at 50, throwing a punch and hitting somebody's jaw or face is probably going to break my hand.

Speaker: Oh, yeah. That's what you meant. I didn't understand before the our pregame what you meant, that we could actually... Yeah. Yeah. our whether where Our bones are are not not as strong as they used to be.

Speaker: Right. Uh, I still have a bit of road rage down here and that's gotten me close a few times but I've tried to stop because my my kids are really like, what the fuck is wrong with you?

Speaker: And so I've stopped but like the driving is so annoying here ah that i that sometimes i I just can't stop. Like I'll just be like, if someone beeps at me I'm gonna, I have this, this is actually, a real i don't know if I did the show that you came to but it's a really old joke.

Speaker: Not a great one, but it's one of the old jokes that I could remember in my act. And so I do it to start shows because it's kind of like starting the alphabet with A. But it's about somebody, someone cut me off and I decided I was going to follow them home and they live really far away. It's basically the joke, but. ah But now, i like if somebody fucking beeps at me, I'll literally start following them and be like, I'm still here. Did you have something to talk about? you want you know But now I'm like, we okay, gotta stop. gotta stop so but those are those are We've talked about that shit on the show, but like what would I do? What do I do if someone rises up? if someone's like let's because Because honestly, the only thing that's going to happen...

Speaker: And maybe even with what you're talking about, there's no, like either someone's just going to be like, you fucking, you're the crazy one or they are, and they might be really crazy. yeah that's That's the only two options. So like, if maybe that guy who who who put his fist down looked at you and was like, he maybe he was ready to kill for an anti-scooter movement, you know?

Speaker: Yeah, exactly. Yeah, yeah, right. It's just an interesting phenomenon. And then as a man, there there is something, it's probably genetic, where you know that that fight aspect of of our biology comes out and you kind of start to go, even if you pass the confrontation and you're reasonable and thoughtful and move on, you still have that rage in you that you have to resolve, or at least I do, when something like that happens. No matter yeah no matter how ridiculous the person is, they could be like ah a homeless dude who's like falling all over himself, but he's trying to threaten you.

Speaker: And you're going to have thoughts of like beating the shit out them. And it's just a, I don't know that women have that as much. I don't think they do. I don't know if it's physical women, but there's definitely a grudge and the ability to like be vindictive and yeah that like some of them, not all every all of us, I should say, not just them. But like, I don't think it's just that easy. Like, ah, women don't have that. They're peaceful.

Speaker: there There are some times where you you might be like, sticking up for your wife or girlfriend or or mom or something where you're like, Jesus, calm down. And you can tell it's just like, no, I will not let this go, which is like a different different style. Like they're not going to go fucking physically attack somebody in most cases, but there's something else going on there.

Speaker: yeah I don't know like it it's gotta be it has to be wired in us because so because like the willingness to fight is pretty pretty like everybody everyone feels like they can't be crossed even people that are like generally nice people like myself Like if someone, like anytime someone, I'm like, oh, like you mentioned that even if it's like a homeless person, have you ever been, what you feel like you're ripped off by like a beggar or something, or they have a like a terrible story about their car broke down down the road. And then you're like, that motherfucker is taking advantage of me. And then you look back and you're like,

Speaker: What am I doing? You know, this guy's like trying to get five bucks off of me probably to survive, but maybe, maybe he's just a con artist, but who gives a fuck? Right. and say That happened to me the other day, actually.

Speaker: Yeah. You just don't want to be caught caught off guard. Yeah. I mean, there was a guy, i mean, he might've been 80, probably 95 pounds. And i walked out ah I'm walking out of my ah my son's drum practice. We're in like kind of the city, part of San Jose.

Speaker: And this old dude comes up to me and he's basically like, my my my wife is at the hospital. i got no money. I have no way to get her home. I got to go over there sometime. And I misunderstood him. So I was like, well, need a ride? I'll take you right now. And he's like, no, I don't need a ride.

Speaker: And I was like, oh, you need money, huh? And he's like, yeah, I need to arrange transportation to get her home. So I go, all right. So I look at my wallet. All I had was a 20, a US $20 bill. And I was like, here, take it.

Speaker: and And then I'm like talking to my son. I'm like, was that guy full of shit? And he goes, no, he's pretty skinny. I believe him. i'm like And I'm like, but in my head, I'm like, why do I really care?

Speaker: but it But it was like, i if so you know I wasn't ready to fight him for the the topic of the show, but I felt that like, did he just fuck me? I think we get the same way, like that aggressiveness. Like in physical confrontations too.

Speaker: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. No, I mean, I fought when I was younger, but it's it's just so stupid. Did you like it? No. it like, oh, this will be fun. Like you hear people talking about fighting like it's fun.

Speaker: ah Yes, there's some crazy people. Met a guy in college that he started shit just like I think he even craved taking a punch. He was just really fucked up. I don't know if he was abused by his dad. One of those, i got my ass beat, like laughing and shit like that. and Kind of, yeah, but more more crazy, more crazy. So, yeah, no, I fought a few few black kids growing up.

Speaker: I think three. We appreciate that, dude. far Yeah. It has nothing to do with race. had nothing to do with race. And then, although it might've been for them, but then I, yeah. It was circumstance of where you lived, right?

Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. Just fucking people get pissed at each other. Yeah. But I wasn't the, i wasn't your target white boy though, dog. you kind of take how how did the like How do fights end? Because you're kind of just waiting for... Because I think what's... I was saying this before the show. like It seemed like almost a normal, maybe encouraged thing where you're like, kid be like yeah, I got in a fist fight.

Speaker: you know Maybe the dad's like, okay, buddy, did you defend yourself? It's like a normal thing. Now it seems like, well, if if my son gets into a fight, he might die. like some Somebody might be unstable enough or be weaponized, depending on where they are.

Speaker: you know like But I was just wonder, like and that's the way fights end now and tragedy. I wonder, like how did your fights end? Well, for kids, all right, so this is up through, I'd say, freshman year in high school. But for kids, you get punched. If you get punched, somebody gets punched or or or feels like it's a little too much.

Speaker: And then they just kind of walk away. or like people jump in the middle of it or adults break it up. Yeah, kind of waiting for it to get broken up. Yeah, no, i' not that I've seen or I wasn't, I didn't participate in anything where somebody got like laid out.

Speaker: Uh-huh. Yeah, so it's like you land a punch and it's pretty, it's pretty jarring to get hit in the face. It's like, definitely it's like bells rung. Depending on where you hit, you can really feel woozy as fuck, but that's, they basically end because somebody's like, fuck this.

Speaker: yeah and it's like okay yeah yeah you kind of just like i i'm gonna step up and hope yeah i mean but you think this i don't know i felt like ah maybe from from that from the 50s through the 90s maybe at the 90s it started to end but maybe 50s through 80s like a fist fight was kind of a normal thing and then it'd be like all right we just resolved an issue and let's move on something like that it was a lot more normal and like yeah i i tell the story i punched the uh this kid that I worked with in college, it just took one punch and he was like, oh, fuck this.

Speaker: But you guys squared up? Like, we're fighting? Yeah, this is a white kid, little dick face. And we were he was working on a loading dock at the ice company I at. Oh, yeah. This was the son of the owner? Yeah, and that one, yeah. And then the the the guys in the ah the black guys, a lot of them were black guys that worked in the loading dock, were just cheering, like like you would expect. They're just so happy. Oh, shit. They were so fucking happy. And then, because this kid was a dick, bud.

Speaker: Uh, so that, so that ended, that ended by landing a solid punch and just like, but, but you have to be, I don't like look at myself as like, wow, you're, you're a tough guy. I look at myself as like not stable mentally. When I think about those things, like third grade, think of as a third grader, would you want this out of your kid as a third grader, dude? I like this. I was fist fighting this black kid and in the, in our apartment complex.

Speaker: Just fucking trying to pound his face in, like angry as fuck. That's weird. That's what I think of when I think about that stuff. I don't know. Is it? Well, that's kind of what I'm saying. Like, it seemed like a normal thing where you're like, okay. And then afterwards, maybe you and that kid were best friends or or at least like it it never resolved. But like, I'm sure you feel like he had it coming.

Speaker: And maybe he did too. His mom came over and said, I fucked up his head or something. I don't know what happened. Were you like, your son's an asshole? or what what like what was in third grade. I don't fucking know what happened. He was probably it was probably talking smack. He was telling you Steve Largent sucked as a wide receiver? I'll never be Jerry Rice. I didn't even know what white and black and any of that meant at that time. Right.

Speaker: Yeah. As just, but that, that was that a, is that a thing like for the rest of your life? mean, I weigh into anything out out of future decisions where like, ah, that was not, i didn't like the way i felt, or I didn't like the way I got attacked by the mom or I didn't like this or that. Like did some that registered with you.

Speaker: I don't know, man, that's a tough question. I just look back on those things that I was involved in as a kid and there were other kind of group things and I go, that's that's basically an indication of having too much time and then also having some issues.

Speaker: Probably some anger, right? Yeah, some anger issues, yeah. Now, as an adult, do you do you correlate it to maybe your parents splitting up or like, i don't know, something? I think it's probably genetic disposition and then some of that as well.

Speaker: Yeah, I don't know. But I don't look at it as like, oh, that was pretty cool. ha Dumb kid. I look at as like, that's a sign of things art were not going well. Because what I know is my son, given how he's raised, he can get into a little this and that with his buddies. Like if they're pissing each other off, it's like a push or something like that.

Speaker: It's just friends, but it's friends. It's not going to result in that kind of thing. And because he grew up stable, he grew up, he doesn't have anything to prove in that sense. So I don't know. I don't look back at any of that go.

Speaker: But it still threatens me like when some idiot people do stuff like in the street. and still It really kind of threatens me. It gets me gets me going probably more than other people. Dude, yesterday we went, I sent you those, those, uh, those birds. You see those bird videos, by the way.

Speaker: like It was crazy. Those are great. Yeah, if you could, I don't know if you can really see in the video, but when I'm talking, I sent Lance, I went surfing my kids yesterday and we're at this tropical beach and like what seemed like 500 of these red or blue macaws, which are like these giant tropical birds that have a ton of ton of color in them, rolled into these abejanus trees, like cashew trees.

Speaker: it And it was it was insane. But... When I was driving driving back on the highway and this guy on this motorcycle, it was two people on a motorcycle in front of me. This guy just like in the back pounds of beer and just throws this fucking can off the off the side of the road.

Speaker: And I had this idea like, I felt like, I was like, what a fucking idiot. And then I started going like, well, I'm not doing anything about it. Like I've started feeling like some guilt. Oh yeah. But then I'm like, i don't know if it's my response. I don't know. I was just like, should I go fight this guy? But, but like not that I'm going to fight him, but go like start. Cause it could end up in a fight. If you go, Hey dude, you shouldn't litter.

Speaker: There's enough aggression out there now, even here where people might be what'd you say to me? You know? Uh, I was like, you know, I, there's like fighting and there's just like confrontation. And no I know like, yo, you should be you shouldn't be afraid of confrontation. You should be one that speaks up and and tries to like, you know, be on the side of right.

Speaker: and But I know there's enough people out there that they cannot handle confrontation as far as like taking it, where it's like, they can't be like, okay, that guy just told me I shouldn't litter. It would be too much for them to be like, okay, sir, or whatever. They would have to like see it through.

Speaker: they did up there Escalate, yeah. Yeah. That's kind of fucked up. But I was just thinking about that, actually, not knowing what the show topic would be. And I'm like, what what should we do in that situation? Yeah, and that that, I think there feels like, it's hard to know, the crime rates are down in the U.S., despite what people think, but I think people feel more afraid.

Speaker: But there is that risk of escalation that you you can't predict. Like, so many weird things have happened. Like, the mailman tried to run me and Sarah off the road because we were riding in tandem on a really empty street, but he was trying to prove a point, so he comes real close with his mirror right like right by my fucking bike. You will not take his postal lane. i sprint I sprint that shit up to the light, and I throw my bike down, and get right into his fucking truck.

Speaker: yeah just I mean, that's not... Well, he's he's fucked up first. That's just, he's got a government truck. But like, I didn't do anything, but like, God, there' should i would have loved to. Because it's sort of like, man, you're you're really playing with fire, man. You don't know who the real next crazy guy is.

Speaker: Right. And what's inside of ourselves kind of scary too. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. what It's weird though. like There's different... like For some reason, postal person, you you're going to have probably more courage to to be like, what the fuck are you doing than like some other type people? But maybe in that situation, it could have been anyone. You were like you were just fired up. people Did you say anything to him?

Speaker: oh by Yeah, I got in the set. What the fuck are you doing, man? I said, what the fuck are you doing? and he starts saying, and then, of course, my wife rolls up. And so then it's like, I have to i have to make a choice.

Speaker: have to make a choice. Cause I probably would have like, you know, fake punch him right into the back of his seat, but not hit him. Give him a little flinch or something. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know though. It's, it's a sad, given my financial security and my social network, that sort of behavior would be really risky and dramatic.

Speaker: And yet like the dude was legit. Could have killed you guys. Just like a head, had he wrecked me and I wrecked into her and she fell. I mean, it's a, it's a, not a, it's not a smart game he was playing. So yeah, I had a reason to be angry, but I don't, it's just hard to know what you do with it.

Speaker: yeah that's but i mean even that like his his um and i've not i've probably done this too here like with these motorcycles that go in between the lanes where i'm like i'm not getting over Like, I don't care if it's normal. It's I don't think it's technically legal that they can go through the lanes on the highway. like, he might've been in that state where he's like, these people know I'm delivering the mail. I'm not getting over.

Speaker: But like the, it's like most that shit just passes and nothing happens. But the consequences could like, could have been like, if he would have, if he would have ran into you guys, he probably would probably would have been at least like vehicular manslaughter or something.

Speaker: Like if you guys were seriously injured or killed. Yeah, we wouldn't have been. it was a residential street. Nobody was on the street. He could have just went around easily.

Speaker: It's a Saturday. like Nobody's on it. Yeah. He could have just went. There's something about bikers for people that it that like they they sense that they have control and power and that they want to exert it if they're in a bad mood.

Speaker: and what Did he say anything? Was he able to articulate any sort of like. Oh, you shouldn't be riding to get side by side. Oh, okay. Great. Oh, that's what it was? But when she got there, I just sort of, so I get, I was like, whatever, dude.

Speaker: whatever You shouldn't be riding side by side, so I'm willing to kill you over it. yeah Exactly. That's what I ah tried to try to understand. But like I don't even know what I'm capable of. like Under stress, if I have some of the life stresses I had recently, if it was the right day, you can see where that doesn't end well. like He gets punched many times while he's sitting in the thing, or maybe he has to run the red light to escape it It's scary to think what we're all capable of.

Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. I, I, I don't know, but I, but that's there for a reason. It must service. It must, I must have, has, what am I trying to say? must either had, had, had served us as humans in the past, or it's there for a reason.

Speaker: I don't know. Like that aggression. There's a reason why there's aggression, uh, and in adrenaline. Well, clearly. I mean, we're in war all over the world. It's it's ah it's crazy. I mean, I don't know. I would hope that civilized ah society would evolve and that we could figure this out. I think had I maybe had a little bit of different experience growing up or more of a sense of security, I would have ah maybe suppressed some of that, but we'll see.

Speaker: We'll see what happens. If you had like a strong, yeah, better, a little more security growing up, you would have been like, well, I appreciate your feedback, man. You're right. We'll go we'll go one one by one instead of going to two two by two on in the street. Boy, you learn something every day, guy.

Speaker: Have a good afternoon. So I was down, we'll end this set segment, but I was down at the this fair in my downtown, and one of my neighbors shows up for this right-winged candidate who has had a booth down there.

Speaker: And this guy's like kind of a redneck candidate. But one of the neighbors shows up in all this like American, weird, really cheesy over the top, like American cowboy garb.

Speaker: And then he's carrying, he's carrying a gun. And I'm like, okay, that, that kind of thing right there, you don't know. Is it out? It's not concealed. It's out. No, it's open carry. And it's like, those people are fucking weird.

Speaker: Are they right from what we're saying, though, because because people are so unstable? You don't know what people are capable of? Could you make that argument? Could you? I don't know, man. I just don't know that that's where you want to go.

Speaker: No, you don't. Because we're like there's there's nowhere for it to go. Right. Absolutely nowhere. you're the You're the judge and jury. Like, okay, I don't know where this is going, going to have to shoot the guy.

Speaker: Right. When do you, when does that, when do you decide that? So, so this dude's a clown and he's dressed up like a fucking American clown. And, uh, you don't know, you don't know what kind of crazy is in there.

Speaker: I just hope that, uh, we can keep calm. Is that, but if you so like, is this person display any of those behaviors? Like normally as a neighbor, like, did you already know who he was? Are you like, well, that's weird.

Speaker: Yeah, I knew who he was. um He's not like a neighbor neighbor, but like he, ah yeah, he has that very, i don't know how to describe it, that look in his eyes that's, you know, the world isn't working for him kind of look.

Speaker: hu In a social environment. Yeah. Yeah. Well, it's, it's, uh, I had, I was having, I made my daughter watch that AI movie as I, it's all I'm doing now for my kids is is trying to project doom and gloom on them.

Speaker: And then she was like, what are they talking about? We're fucked. Which is actually what this other girl that i hang out with was like all the parts of the people, the positive people are like, this is going to bring education, healthcare care to everyone, even poor people. And anyone who's been poor is like, no, it's not. It's just going to fucking go to rich people and, That's it. It's like, give me a fucking break. Like, are they going to pump these AI meds out in Haiti? No. Haiti's not getting help. But ah my daughter was just like, we're fucked. But then the conversation got into like, there's never been a time in human history where there's not a war going on somewhere in the world.

Speaker: And it's like, so then... Are we wrong? Like peace, hippie, pee you know, hippie guy, world peace dream. Are they wrong? Like, it because it doesn't, it seems to go against human nature to be an advocate for peace.

Speaker: Honestly, like it doesn't, it doesn't seem like it it either. I don't know. if i wouldn't say it doesn't work, but it does not even seem remotely possible. But something that's never happened in the history of the world. Yeah, i here's where the AI story could be interesting.

Speaker: In the event that AI produces mass quantities of cheap goods that, you know, it's just overwhelming and allows everybody to have access to everything they need or at least the basics, you know, the confrontations, at least the probability of confrontation probably goes down.

Speaker: um But I think with scarce resources and and then if we can't figure out how to override humanity's desire to hoard, we'll just continue to have wars. But I mean, I hear that, but I'm also saying like you, you could get that like you were saying you could get there. Now you consider yourself a peaceful, left leaning advocate for peace and and less power hungry and wealth.

Speaker: But you could still get there the point where you're you could fight. So if you're like that, like and then and then, they you know, you're at the low end of the scale of aggressive asshole. It's like, there's no way like that this stuff's not going happen we're outside of the theme of AI, you know?

Speaker: Right. So I'm like, well, maybe it's not a, it's a, it's a pipe dream. Well, it's sure like peace, like peace on earth. It certainly feels that way. I'm just saying if, if something gets resolved with AI, it's possible, but you're right. I mean, and we haven't shown that there is peace on earth. Fucking clown with the gun. Like you're going to go up there and give him a hug and be like, I still love you, man.

Speaker: You know, it's like you see people like that and you're like, I cannot whatever, whatever happy, peaceful kumbaya thought I had. I'd look at that person, whether, you know, for you, it's that guy. Everybody has somebody. And you're like, I can't, I can't offer an olive branch to this person no matter what. It would be tough, but like, I don't know. We're just so wired to protect our own.

Speaker: it's and believe ourselves in a way where it's like i'm right and that guy is a lunatic and fucking asshole like there's no way around that right well and there's no conscious thought about the value of our life relative to other people either we assume that our survival our life is the most important thing in the universe like we i don't know that you could live any other way and maybe in some I don't transcendent moments, you can figure out how to not do that. And there have obviously been some famous people that have figured that out. Buddha, Jesus, people like that. But mostly you're sitting here going, I have to live. Right. Right.

Speaker: And i'm I have the best way to do it, it seems like. Right, which is why somebody like Putin can justify taking over Ukraine, whatever crazy shit's in his mind.

Speaker: So I don't know, man, but the it will be the chaos that ensues because of AI, if that happens, will be quite interesting. I do have fantasies of walking around the street if we really kind of that K-shaped economy continues to like grow and the divide becomes more and more extreme.

Speaker: I do sense that people are going to be more combative if you look like you have resources. They're going to do it out of necessity. So maybe the crime rights get back to like the 1980s, late 70s when motherfuckers were robbing places all the time.

Speaker: Well, if there's a, if there's a, if there's a idea that you're being left behind, like, okay, there's the, the world is evolving into something new and we're being left behind. I don't see, like, if you're just sitting there going, I don't see this as the, uh, the abundance is coming, coming my way. And we're just going to be like completely fucked. And there's five people making decisions that, that need to be stopped.

Speaker: You're, you're going to be like, people are already getting there a little bit where they're like, So these like my, you know, it's so obvious to 15 year old. Anyone's like, why, why don't we just stop? You watch that video. It's like, just stop. We don't need this. Just stop. We're creating these things that we don't need.

Speaker: Why can't we stop? and it's like, no, we can't, we can't stop because somebody else might do it. Did your daughter have the crazy thought? Did your daughter have the thought that the poor people would continue to get fucked or was that your,

Speaker: Well, your lady friend. Lady friend had it. She was just like, she stopped the video and was just like laughing. It was actually, this is something I think I wanted to talk about, but we were overdoing the AI. The, the funniness of someone who's actually, she's not poor.

Speaker: Like, But just the, like, it's so laughable to people to listen to, like, privileged people talk, where it's just like, you gotta be fucking kidding me. It was like such a joke. Like, her reaction was so funny. It was like, yeah. all Because they're like, in ah in that movie, they're like, yeah, I see the best education on every level for everyone and tutors for everyone and healthcare for everyone. there was just like, uh-huh. Yeah.

Speaker: We've heard that before. It was it was so amazing. But my daughter was just the whole, like, the guys... her reaction was it it was like that she saw that but when her reaction like the happy the people are like this is going to be great the guy the guy the first guy she like within two seconds she goes i look at this fucking guy i can't believe this guy he looks like he's right he she said something like he looks like he's running a cult in like hawaii or something like that the guy's like i see ah a range of abundance oh yeah this sounds like fucking what's the guy dianetics uh

Speaker: You know talking about? L. Ron Hubbard? It was like L. Ron. And it was just like, this is fucked up. All the people that are preaching doom and gloom are like seem like normal people that you can understand. And the people that are like, everything's going to be great, look like they're fucking created by AI.

Speaker: And they're just like, yeah yeah. The only one I respected in that movie is the redhead dude. And he's like a famous like... The pale guy with the red hair and the... Yeah, slow down advocate.

Speaker: yeah smart He was smart but also balanced Yeah, I liked him Oh yeah, the slowdown yeah i mean, i do I respect a lot of people in the video I just thought the people that were like on the positive side were like Well, there was a big, there was a guy like a middle-aged older guy had said something like, no, there's going to be screw ups, but hopefully we can get around them like we always have. And then, but, uh, yeah.

Speaker: The point that the poor people are going to like rise, like the all boats are all rising tides, raise all boats. What's the phrase? I forget. Yeah. Rising tide raises, raises the vessels that are on the water. That's the one I always used. so No, that shit is bullshit.

Speaker: That is total bullshit because none of this stuff is designed at current state to be given away for free. It's all structured for revenue capture. So that's fucking bullshit.

Speaker: And I agree with that. Actually, the you bring that up. And I think the conversation my daughter and I had was like another thing. Okay, so you're going to replace you. You're basically within a few years replacing any sort of lower level job.

Speaker: Like, yeah so you're going to have billions of poor people that are like completely fucked. Like it could happen here. I mean, the, the, the the girl I'm talking about, like who had the, who was laughing about the poor people thing. She she has ah she is training actually for sort of a back office customer service billing processing job or something like that. Bilingual smart, but that's like, okay, that's probably going away.

Speaker: And then you'll eliminate like countries full of like to do support now for the US like it's here. It's the Philippines. It's China. It's anywhere that people like have a good education system speak English.

Speaker: Like that's all gone. You know, that's like, okay, but that's okay because they're to righteous healthcare care and, and, uh, and education. They're going to have tutors that are, as the guy said, uh, infinitely patient.

Speaker: Yeah, a drone's going to drop off all of your goods right in your front door, and it's going to come and repair your house, too. Yeah, it's fucked up. Well, with the time left, with the time we have left, dude, what are you to be about? Let's into fight. Yeah. What are going to be about? What are going to be about in your life? What are you going with the time you have left, dude? I think the only thing humans have left is performance. Performance? That's all I have.

Speaker: Like the the sake of of performing is actually... That's it? Yeah. I mean, you have your hobbies, whatever you like. Mine's surfing. Yours is ah organizing financial investments.

Speaker: I think... i don't know what I'm going about, but... I think if I can just settle on, uh, you know, for me performing, they end up a little bit, then it can be at any level and some sort of physical activity.

Speaker: What else am I going to do? We started my nonprofit, you know, but that is that, that's nothing to do with AI. That's just, you, you're resolving that.

Speaker: What I think is like, we like are you going to make ah as as some asshole, one of the good, the good the good good on the side of the good in the video would say, are you going to make a drastic pivot in your life because of AI? Are you just going to figure out what you already needed to figure out?

Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. Like, um, is AI or not, not just AI, who gives a but fuck about AI, but at this age, are you, are you going to do anything? don't know. We talk about this a lot, but like, at this age, like it just, the having big lofty goals is not as appealing.

Speaker: Well, I don't know. Like I had a conversation with my wife on Friday about what we're to do moving forward. and And she's like, what am I? She was like, what do you think I'm going to do? Because, you know, these conversations suck, but they involve like obviously the kids, but then financial planning for the rest of our lives. And where do we go from here with relationships? And and then it always comes back to like, what are we going to do with ourselves?

Speaker: And she's ah she's turned into like a pretty pretty good photographer and has passion for it, but she's basically like, what am I going to She's like, what do you think I'm going to do? like I'm going to be 50. I can't just go out and get a job. or I'm like, what are you doing with your photography? Nobody gives a fuck about my photography. like It's like with AI, it doesn't matter anyways.

Speaker: and and there was like i don't know if she used those words she doesn't really talk like me but that's how i interpret it but uh you know i was like well you know at the end of the day it's like you all just got to keep being a photographer one way or the other, you know? Cause she loves it is what you're saying.

Speaker: Yeah. And that's what she does. Oh, like, I mean, so, you know, the right is the right thing to do for her to fucking throw the cameras in the trash and be like, Hey, you can't do anything with AI, you know, photography, graphic design, any of that shit. Nobody wants me to take pictures of them. They can take, they can take pictures on their phones and two minutes AI could make it a perfect headshot, corporate headshot or whatever else the fuck they want it to be family shot.

Speaker: So what should she do? Well, there's like, yeah. yeah Well, there's more consideration than just like my interests, like my interests. Sure. Like I can do those without any consequence of like being successful or not, but like to make money at some of these professions, like does she have that concern?

Speaker: I hope. Okay. but ah yeah But yeah, I mean, even that, like I spent all last week, I spent a lot of time like updating our what you know website shit and online marketing shit but it was done either with AI supplementation or AI advice or AI everything but I was like I didn't was just using it as ah as a tool you know so she could or anyone not serve but you could you probably have to think about that at least it's like i I have to use AI as a tool now Yeah, competitively. But you would you would probably, had you grown to multiple locations, you might have hired somebody to do some of that middle level work that now you could use AI to do. Is that what you're saying?

Speaker: Well, I would just say in the past, I would have hired probably a web guy. i probably would have hired a graphic designer, probably would have hired a photographer, actually used her as for in the early stages, probably would have hired a like an online yeah i see marketing marketing expert, advertising expert, and I didn't.

Speaker: So from your gut instinct based on running this business, do you just see a kind of a rapid decrease in and jobs for everyday people? I don't know. like I mean, like I could have, it could fail miserably and then we got to go out. No, I just think there's at least in maybe the next five to 10 years.

Speaker: i wonder how many people, I mean, I guess i already have my answer. Cause like how many people could figure out what I just figured out? And I think the answer is a lot of people. Am I, I'm doing what a lot of people are doing and probably like younger generation. It's, it's almost like you're gonna have to be an expert of, of implementing AI into whatever you're doing.

Speaker: I think that's probably where it is. It's not like a replacement, but you're going to have to be like, I mean, like no one's probably going ever try to be a graphic designer in the next four or five years. That's just going to go away. But you're, you know but you are making a case that like some of the basic business support jobs or whether they're full-time jobs or whether they're like gun for hire or temporary will are not, not going to be needed. Yeah. They're not going needed, but there might be like one person managing it.

Speaker: Yeah. Someone's going like, what's our market. So it happens to be me, but someone had to be like, what's our marketing Yeah. What are we doing? So it me. But did I go to marketing the the staff that has five people sitting in? I mean, wouldn't anyways, it was a small company, but like there's probably not going to be departments anymore. so So there will be job replacement. But what I don't know is like what then what does that open up?

Speaker: Or is the answer nothing? Like there's no there's no back end, you know. Like the industrial revolution might have replaced the cotton gin might have replaced picking cotton, but it created jobs and factories for like processing, you know, or I don't know. That's a good analogy.

Speaker: Yeah, I guess the only option is like wherever there are shortages, so health care particularly like the dirty, hard parts of health care, like home care. Nursing stuff like that. Elderly care.

Speaker: More elderly care, lower lower wage care, and maybe some farm work and other hardcore construction stuff. There are shortages. Yeah. And so maybe those back office bitches have to switch to that really hard hardcore stuff.

Speaker: I think that's part of it. Like we're probably going to be more like a labor, you know, even maybe becoming like cooks. are It's like, this it's I think this is already happening the U.S. where like a lot of the work is service industry work because we just keep building restaurants and shit like that. and that's like going to be the economy. That doesn't seem like the goal, you know, of this new new wonderful world. But for somebody that has an idea and has ah the the business acumen to get that idea implemented, AI sure is handy, huh?

Speaker: Yeah, exactly. I think. Maybe not. Yeah. Wow. but But, you know, that whole thing is like... What I, what I probably believe and from the, from that stupid movie and what I've heard is like, we haven't really, we don't even know what it is yet. Like, like this is like the precursor to to real, real intense shit where even like the construction worker is obsolete.

Speaker: Everything's obsolete from the top to the bottom yeah because robotics combined with it, with AGI and, uh, you know, It is what it is.

Speaker: Well, that, I don't know. I'm not ready to think about, but I am ready to think about some labor market disruptions, dude. So, um, But you know, who's going to get fucked in that? So like we find ways to replace labor and everything. It's like, it's okay. It's just, it's like so amusing when you hear it, especially if you hear it with someone that's like, uh-huh.

Speaker: Right. I trust these fucking rich fucks to fuck come down here and help us. We got it. We really got to think about the dynamics changing in the markets because of AI. So we got, it's like, it's like, it just sounds so ridiculous to listen to people in the U S or like talk about these things for most of the world.

Speaker: Jesus loves us Jesus loves us Jesus loves us Jesus loves us
