Country Box 44 is here, and the biggest news is a game-changing partnership with Mayweather Promotions. The hosts sit down with promoter Jimmy Adams to break down what the alliance means for Tuesday night's card and for rising undefeated prospect Kamari Burnside. Along the way, we pause to reflect on the passing of Dolly Parton and her enduring legacy, trace how Country Box has evolved from small local shows into a full-fledged boxing-entertainment brand, and dig into how Jimmy has raised the quality and competitiveness of his fights to earn credibility as a promoter. We close with a look at Country Box's long-term mission and a preview of what's coming on the next card.

Transcript

Speaker: Huh?

Speaker: It's that world heavyweight flow. Championship belt wrapped around my waist, yo I got that ripped slant that you vote Slam you on the page then that's why they call me street pro He don't Like Jordan after the second time he three -peated four.

Speaker: You came prepared, now get ready for the show.

Speaker: Yes, welcome back to Ballin' Buds, a special... episode we have one of our favorite guests Boxing.

Speaker: Owner, legend, promoter of country box. Mr. Jimmy. Adams and he is here with some amazing news. that has came out in the past week. We are going to break it all down for you a week ahead of Country Box 44 Plaza Mariachi on September 1st.

Speaker: September 1st, 7 p .m. here in Nashville, Tennessee. Jimmy, how are you doing today, brother? I'm okay, my man. I'm okay. I'm glad to see you back in town.

Speaker: Yes. Yes, I was out of town. That's why y 'all haven't seen me doing any streaming for three weeks. I went to Amsterdam, Ireland, and then... Toronto. So I've been traveling the world.

Speaker: And unfortunately, I was out of town. When this tremendous news came out. I had no Wi -Fi, I had no service, I had no equipment. And I let down. Jimmy, my brother here, and I am so...

Speaker: I will next time I'll make sure I have everything. So that does not happen again. But what it is... is tremendous news anyways. And a hearty congratulations to you, sir, for what is a uh tremendous accomplishment for country box let's be completely honest here country box is one of the fastest and most exciting growing organizations in the country.

Speaker: Not just Nashville. Uh... But! to be able to have a partnership come about. Peace! Mayweather Promotions and Floyd Mayweather. Uh, you! as being in the boxing game.

Speaker: For - 50 years now. and being a protege with Don King in that relationship. How? Do you feel about...

Speaker: Bish. Agreement. Cab Mayweather. promotion fighters come and fight. In Country Box. And because I know you mentioned this in your interview that you sort of thought that not that you sort of what you thought.

Speaker: that this would continue to hopefully bring a reality. Back to boxing. What does that really mean? Well, you know, first, I'm very excited about Floyd Mayweather, you know.

Speaker: I've been very blessed in my boxing career because I had... You know, I've been associated for 50 years with the greatest promoter of all time in Don King. And now I'm associated with one of the greatest fighters.

Speaker: you know, in this era of all times also, which is a blessing in itself. uh i think florida bring a lot to country box you know which is fighters and Especially I look at it too, combining my fighters and his fighters. That means we're going to have one hell of a stable. Fighters, you know. Goodbye.

Speaker: And I'm excited. He brings history to the... to, uh... forefront and I'm excited about it. But I have to tell you, my wife is very upset because when I always come out,

Speaker: The first thing she cut me and said, Why is Omar not calling you? Why is Omar not talking about this? Oh, no. Ashley was so. I'm so sorry, Ashley.

Speaker: No! Oh, God. If she knew I was out of town, I don't think she would be as upset as you're portraying. But that's okay. She knew. Listen, she just now said this to me.

Speaker: And she's sitting right here next to him and she hears what you're saying. And so anyway, she just said, I can't believe Omar just dropped the ball. Wow. Ashley, I feel so heartbroken right now. I'm not sure. here.

Speaker: Yeah. Yes. I got my vindication. Let's go. No, speaking of, before we even get into all that. I love bringing up that I wanted to do that as a congratulations. But before we get deeper into those waters, since you do have...

Speaker: the wonderful Miss Ashley with you. There was some huge news that came out today. And as we live here in Nashville. Dolly Parton. a legend, a icon.

Speaker: an American icon, a country music legend. uh nashville she's a philanthropist and she was a humanitarian She was the queen.

Speaker: of Nashville. She unfortunately passed away and left us 80 years old today after what was a reported now a short battle with cancer just came out. a couple of minutes before the show.

Speaker: Look. She? was a person that in my eyes transcended Anything. Any divide. You could have race.

Speaker: religion or otherwise. and was just a light in this dark world. What are your thoughts on this day? Well, you know, It actually...

Speaker: When I heard the news that she died it actually actually That's the one who told me. Bye. my heart dropped you know Dolly Parton I've been fortunate to meet her a couple times you know and And in my lifetime, so.

Speaker: But, you know, I think Dolly's one of them people that you never expect to die. You know what I'm saying? I think the whole world needed her and loved her. Yes. I just...

Speaker: I feel like the paradigm is as big as Elvis dying, you know. You know, it's just, but it, but it, it, it. Don't get me wrong, it's just, I mean, it's just... It just really hit me hard because She's been so good to people, not just...

Speaker: Yes. All races, all races. It didn't matter to her. I mean, she was just a I mean, she was just a guiding light for so many people without even knowing how many people she was. touching.

Speaker: And, uh... I think it's a sad day for all of us. and she definitely will never be forgotten.

Speaker: Oh, no, definitely not at all. Again, she is a... As we both said, an American icon, not just... Nashville, but... you know, in America overall.

Speaker: uh she Not just as a musician, right? Yes, you won 11 Grammy Awards. Yes, you won, you know, an Emmy. was nominated for emmy she won an oscar or nominated for oscar for nine to five It's not just the talent.

Speaker: that she had. It was, as you mentioned, what is more important in life. is how much love she gave to people. and how much of her shelf. She was willing to give back.

Speaker: to not just her community, but children and human... you know. humankind all over the world and so I think as you mentioned, there's no...

Speaker: There's no way she ever leaves at least American lore for sure. But I think she's even bigger than that. So, again, yeah, it just hurts. As you mentioned, you know, you said when Ashley told you, you know, your heart dropped. I was watching I had the news on in the background. I was doing some work.

Speaker: And it just... It flashed on the screen. And I just screamed, no! And I know my neighbors knew exactly what it was about when they you know, probably turned on their TV a little bit later. And again, it hurt everybody like I saw everyone, you know, coming forward.

Speaker: with their takes. About it or you know how they felt and it didn't matter who they were. It seemed like everyone. Love, Dolly.

Speaker: Oh! it might be a little muted here hold on let me see what we got going on here

Speaker: I can't hear you now. yes. Try again. Can you go There you go, okay. Cool, we're good now. but when i heard you i called don king and uh I told him, I said, Don, I said, your girl died.

Speaker: And he said, who is that? I said, Dolly Parton. And he said, I got... I gotta go. And I said, what? He said, I got to go. And he said, I'll call you back. He got off the phone with me and done a little tribute thing to her and put it out there.

Speaker: Uh... you know, But you know what? That's what I say. She touched everybody. I don't think Dolly had an enemy anywhere. I mean, she just...

Speaker: I mean, no matter if you like country music, you love Dolly. Right. Just so much. And one thing I was always admired about it, no matter how. or how bad a situation could be in life for other people.

Speaker: She always can get a smile out of you. I mean, she always had that little laughter. And there will never be another Dolly Parton. that never was before her and will never be going after her.

Speaker: Yeah, no, you're completely right about that. I think those are beautiful words that you said. If Ashley's still there with you, if she wants to say something, she can say her part. She just stepped out, yeah. Okay. All right. Cool. Well, you know, again,

Speaker: I heard everybody. Even when I went to the I had an appointment right before I went down to Walk of Fame to do my tribute video. And everybody was talking about it. Everybody was on their phones. Everybody was talking to other people about Dolly. And you could just hear it as you're walking through the streets. And then as I mentioned to you before we came on, I went down to the Walk of Fame to do my own tribute video, which y 'all can see on Instagram and YouTube now.

Speaker: And... there were already flowers starting to go down and that was right after it happened because i got out there after my appointment pretty quickly. uh there were flowers starting to come down the news organizations were starting to set up their cameras which I'm glad I got there before they were all there so I could get in a video.

Speaker: But yeah, you're right. I think that... That I think it's I heard that she's not she's gonna have a private funeral.

Speaker: uh, I really, I wish that the family or whoever decided I mean, I think that the celebration of her life should be all over the place and pigeon forward to here.

Speaker: I mean, because a lot of her success was based upon the fans who traveled. from all over the world to Dollywood and see her wherever. And I think the fans should have an opportunity to celebrate the last. staying with her.

Speaker: I'm sort of sad that they're not having a big funeral for her. You know, I'm sure to be as big as what Ella's had at Grayson. I'll be as big as. that John F. Kennedy or anybody, I mean, any legend.

Speaker: because really I think she's bigger than all of them in so many different ways. I mean, Elvis was huge, no question. But still. Dolly would just... Dolly.

Speaker: I mean, just Dolly. and from all demographics and all ages. I mean, I just... I just think it should be a celebration. Like Ash and I, we definitely disagree with that. She thinks she should have a privacy to it.

Speaker: But, you know, I just feel like, well, she didn't have privacy. when she made her success. Amen. See you. built things for people to come see her. I just think it should be the same way. I think we are.

Speaker: And I think I'll... All people, all fans should have the opportunity to. Dude, just... One last time. You know what I'm saying? But, you know, you have to respect what the family wants to do, but I just think that...

Speaker: Anyway, that gets them going around in circles. It's just sad. It's just a sad day that she's dead. I mean. And the saddest thing about that, I think, is about the people, the young kids.

Speaker: that would never know her or have the pleasure to. Watch her on television. I hear her laughter and joy. as we were able to. So I feel sad for the youngest.

Speaker: the younger people coming up that would never have the opportunity. they only going to have what we tell them what we've seen or whatever you know what i'm saying She's definitely going to be a legend. She'll definitely live forever.

Speaker: but it's just a difference for us to be alive to see ourselves. You know, it is. Like I said, it's heartbreaking. these hotcakes. Yeah, yeah, no, beautifully said. I will leave it at that.

Speaker: i see both sides of you and ashley there you know i would love to see Everyone gets to celebrate her in a, you know, in a... outwardly way, but I also understand that she was a very private person. a lot of life private that wasn't.

Speaker: you know the singing in the movie so i get that too but yeah Either way. Uh... May... made her soul. Rest in peace. You know, the queen of Nashville.

Speaker: country music legend. American icon. Dolly Parton passed away today. 80 years old in Nashville, Tennessee. We send our love and thoughts. Prayers to her family and friends.

Speaker: And we will always remember her as Jimmy said, she'll never leave. She left a legacy that will never be forgotten. They put it that way. Right. She was our Princess Di.

Speaker: Mmm! she would definitely die you know i like that you're completely right i i agree completely uh yeah i actually went to dollywood with my mom for my birthday a few years ago. It was awesome. One of my favorite amusement parks. Those roller coasters there were damn good too.

Speaker: So we had a good time. uh over there uh so shout out to dollywood which i is it going out of business is that what i heard I don't know Okay, I hope I heard that incorrectly. I don't know. But anyways. Okay.

Speaker: Moving on. as hard as it is to do. from a beautiful person. Now we move to a beautiful. partnership as we break down a little more.

Speaker: Of. what we're going to be seeing on Tuesday night. Yes. Country Box 44, the biggest. country. Box! Yet.

Speaker: At Plaza Mariachi. September 1st. Seven. PM Central. 8 p .m. Eastern. It will start So make sure you get your tickets at country. Box.

Speaker: Two. Four. Seven. Dot. Calm. You can also... Subscribe. on YouTube at Country Box and follow on IG at Country Box. Box. official everything is up there at the top and at the bottom on the banners and in the descriptions anywhere you need to find it you can find country box because you are not going to want to miss. This upcoming Tuesday night. When?

Speaker: Country Box has its initial... partnership episode. or our show with Boi! money, Mayweather. Mayweather promotions and one of his Excellent. excellent fighters.

Speaker: Kamari. Burnside. 6 -0 with three KOs. will be featured. on this fight. as well. you will also feature two of his other fighters.

Speaker: Abdullah Kedar and Dorian Khan. Junior. In. the future. Ciao! Talk to us about how excited you are. about Tuesday night, talk to us about this rising undefeated prospect, Kamari Burnside.

Speaker: that will be coming with Mayweather promotions. Well, you know, Burnside is... He's a great prospect, I mean. It looked like he got everything that it takes, you know, to... to fulfill it and you know and so i'm excited i'm excited about him you know I'm excited about all the Florida fighters, you know.

Speaker: You got it. understand for Floyd Mayweather to sign him to Mayweather promotion. Mmm. Aww. Yes. They got to be good. They got to be good. Right. I mean, he's got the eyes of a champion. So I don't see Floyd signing anybody that's not.

Speaker: got potential to be a champion, you know, so. They said that all the fighters he's... He's bringing over the fight here. There's got to be good fighters. You know what? I don't know all in detail what everything's all about.

Speaker: you know, paying out to be. But ultimately, I know I'm excited and I feel like Florida and I are in a situation. We'll just go. grow together, we would grow it together. brought it, you know.

Speaker: handle things and situations that it comes we will adapt to whatever We both... I feel like we both bring a lot to the table to help each other. He's definitely gonna help me.

Speaker: I definitely help here with my platform and stuff, you know. Uh... I mean, it just seemed to be a good mix. And I think we both got the intention that we're going to take and build it to the highest screen that we can.

Speaker: uh, and for the people. It's not just for him and myself. We want the platform for fighters to have an opportunity to become champions. Not get caught up in some of this rug race that's going on here, you know.

Speaker: And some of the way some of the boxing is going now, you know, so you need to know some of these. alliances and stuff you know from the tbl and And I mean, you know, no matter what, it might be fun for some people to snap, but still, it's not real boxing.

Speaker: It's not getting in there, you know, and getting in there and going at it. Like the old legend. Shots fired. I mean, you go in and you fight all you got for one round, so... I mean, as far as I knew. They go in and they fight for 15 rounds or 12 rounds. And they fought wars. and they fought wars, you know? So to see somebody that...

Speaker: To me, it's just because I've been in the game, I guess. but to see somebody come in and And that, like, they done a great thing because they fought three hard rounds. I mean, three minutes.

Speaker: the ground. One round. odd. God. I don't get the, I don't get it. It has to go out to the people who's fighting. three odd minutes. for 10, 12 rounds today, you know.

Speaker: To me, that's just, to me, that's what boxing is. They mentioned this in their podcast. Quote about you. It said Mayweather said believes that the partnership as well can create another platform. We're the sports future stars.

Speaker: Floyd Mayweather said partnering. with Jimmy Adams and Country Box is a great opportunity. for Mayweather promotions to continue building future stars in this sport. and giving fight fans Great action.

Speaker: Country box. has shown that they know how to deliver memorable memorable events and combined, With our ability to develop world champions and superstars, the sky is the limit.

Speaker: for what we can do together. I can't wait to see it get started. with these first two shows. featuring some of our most talented. Fighters. And. Quote,

Speaker: Floyd Mayweather. Talking about the partnership with you. Wow. high praise coming from both sides. this partnership about what this could become. with your vision.

Speaker: as a promoter. With your... knowledge, experience and legacy as a promoter. owning this exciting and growing. Organization that is taking over the United States of America country box.

Speaker: already taking over Nashville, already moving to bigger venues, going to be moving to bigger and better venues after that. Now you have this Mayweather promotions coming along, wanting to send their fighters here because they see this as a place where not only they can be developed. but obviously be seen.

Speaker: while being developed. Exactly. yeah that's important it's like i say i mean i can't sit here and say exactly how we're going to do this. And I like that because We're going to do it as it comes. run into a hiccup, we're going to fix it.

Speaker: Uh, That's what I like. We just know we want to compete you know, uh, compete. I don't get against the other promoters. That's not what we're trying to do. We're trying to just deliver a platform.

Speaker: and have fighters have an opportunity to build. and have real fights. the real fights without the politics. we're back getting caught up you know some of the stuff that goes on and boxing you know We just won't. I'd create champions. And boy, how better can...

Speaker: We create champions, especially myself. when I got such a champion on my side, you know, I mean, no matter what. Love or hate Floyd Mayweather, he's still a legend. He's still a champ.

Speaker: So it doesn't work. And in all reality, that's true. Neither one of us is running a popularity contest. but we're just trying to deliver. some good fights and make some champions. I mean, that's all.

Speaker: and so you know I think that If you come to Florida myself, You better come ready to fight. You better come ready to build. If you're serious about wanting to build a career, and somebody who cares about you.

Speaker: You need to come to Florida myself. because we're going to take care of you. And we're going to do the right, but you know, you're going to have to fight. And if you don't want to be a real fighter. We're not... platform to come to.

Speaker: I mean, if you don't have the heart to do it. in this. too messy for you just Go your way out. And you know, we're not trying to be a place where just come and get a good payday and over with.

Speaker: We want to be your fighters. I mean, that's and that's what I think a lot of things missing. I mean, don't get me wrong, you got your big face going on from like... You know, kind of being in Ryan Garcia. Oh, my God. I can't wait to see that fight.

Speaker: That's a real fight. You know what I'm saying? But you got to understand. Ryan Garcia, Arden, O 'Connor being neither one of them walked into the ring and valued what they valued at. It took them building on a platform.

Speaker: Yes. And most times, building on a platform that wasn't as steady and stable as what we have now. I mean, we prove, and this is our 44th show. We run. Yep. 44 shows back to back. And so.

Speaker: And that's that's. That's really important. A lot of these fighters' careers build by one fight. two or three fights a year. right and we can fight a fighter six seven eight fights a year i mean what's necessary and and so you know it's a It's a strong, and we also...

Speaker: Hoping to go every Tuesday night. So then you really got something going. We're talking about going every Tuesday night. bringing back the Tuesday night fight. Love that. And then every three months have a big pay -per -view.

Speaker: So on a Saturday night, but do I play with you on a Saturday night? So it's just like it's a remake copy of WWE. Just like they got to Monday Night Raw, we're gonna have.

Speaker: Mayweather and Adam promotion, you know, raw. I'm getting so excited. Yes, this is going to be a super exciting time for Country Box. Yes, indeed. yeah you got your tuesday like it's like tuesday night fights like they had the old uh you know boxing yes tuesday tuesday and exactly tuesday night fights uh you know the fights after dark things like that and then yeah if we can if we can start getting a pay -per -view going to whoo saturday night mayhem in nashville baby yeah and you know what

Speaker: is And you know it's not just that we have boxing. I mean, we have an event. It's coming. You have fun. I mean, our demographic is 0 to 100.

Speaker: I mean, we've got All nationalities. We've got kids that come. I mean, you come down and you have fun. You have fun. I mean...

Speaker: I'm excited, but like I say, bringing... Floyd Mayweather being fortunate enough to have Floyd Mayweather. to even having answers to be involved. I mean, I think it just, it just.

Speaker: Great. I never expected a Mayweather team to end up with me. That never was in my cards. uh, you know But. I'm really happy and blessed that he is. I'm happy and I think we can make a difference in boxing.

Speaker: We can make a difference in boxing. I'm looking forward to it to see where this can go. Definitely. Oh, my goodness. Yeah, I am so looking forward to it. The sky is the limit, and I think that this is, again...

Speaker: and i keep telling you this offline all the time we talk about this and i tell you i just the trajectory that i have seen because obviously I wasn't here at the beginning beginning, but I've been here for about half of it now. or a little less maybe i don't know either way the trajectory i've seen since i've come aboard.

Speaker: has just been immense. From... You know, the troubadour. when you were having You had, you know, Maidel Sandoz. You know, obviously, you got Hermes Orta, and then you had...

Speaker: you know the other fighters going with you but you were just starting to build up just starting to really get some some some really good fights in there some good fighters some experienced named fighters and it's only getting it's only gotten bigger since then that was Three years ago, dude. Two, three years ago now when I guess I came on.

Speaker: So. the trajectory leaving the the troubadour now moving on to plaza mariachi where you're going every first tuesday of the month don't forget that y 'all every first tuesday of the month coming up next tuesday the 1st of September.

Speaker: 7 Central, 8 Eastern. Five Pacific. Don't forget it if you want tickets, Country Box. 247 .com. But again, as you mentioned, it is not just...

Speaker: Boxing. It is a grand event. You come out. I can vouch for this because I have been to them. Oh, but I've been to them. I've seen them. I can vouch for what Jimmy is saying.

Speaker: It is for all. you can bring The whole family. Kids are there. Grandparents. are there. It doesn't matter. uh a mexican black white puerto rican uh whoever asians whoever i've seen everyone

Speaker: There. uh in in in the venue There are no discriminations. There are no divides. It's just a fun time. It's just one of the greatest events you can see in...

Speaker: I guarantee you, and it's only going to get better. with these kind of partnerships. Absolutely. Thank you so much for what you're saying.

Speaker: No, of course. And also, right, as you mentioned as well, this Mayweather Promotions Country Box Partnership represents a meeting of two distinct approaches. Your...

Speaker: entertainment, your promotional approach, experience putting together a boxing organization and combining that. with musical accompaniments, which, by the way, don't let me forget either. Y 'all better go support my boy Clayton Q. Unfortunately.

Speaker: I will be visiting my mom. I would not, and dad, I would not be able to be there, but. Y 'all go out and support my boy Clayton Q. Because that's where I met him. was that country box And me and Clayton Q have not only developed a friendship.

Speaker: over those years since I first met him. He was actually the first. one i covered i believe he was playing at uh he was my first interview at country box he was my first interview to get over 10 000 Views?

Speaker: Then we hit over, I think, 50 ,000 views or something like that. on his concert video So me and Clayton Q have had a very prosperous.

Speaker: partnership together and I want you all to go support my boy. Because he plays some good. uh very good Such a good guy. Such a great entertainer. Great guy. Yeah, he's on the rise. He's got the look.

Speaker: He's got the sound. to be the next big country music star. And y 'all, he is. He's on the rise. He's doing big things. But anyways, enough about Clayton Q. I love my brother. But again... then you mix that with mayweb promotions bringing their track breadth records of uh developing those elite fighters. Because if we're to be honest, Jimmy, and obviously I want to keep it...

Speaker: you know, as real as possible on this show. I don't want people to think I'm just here to fluff you up. Uh... The main complaint probably... of country box When I first started getting there,

Speaker: was the quality of some of the fighters that were coming along. You know, some of the fighters, some say, you know, we're just, you know, some people complain we're just brought in. They don't know why they were brought in, stuff like this. You know, the different complaints that people may have, whether that's valid or not.

Speaker: There were complaints that people had early on going. But with this now... this is another promotion and that that was a long time ago by the way The fights have fights and fighters.

Speaker: uh are all very good nowadays but with this promotion will only make it better. So to come from having... the critics that said those sorts of things. to now having this promotion is a big leap in itself.

Speaker: Well, you know the biggest thing That is, uh... Ashley, my wife, started becoming, you know... after After Christy Martin left, I went back to her on promotion.

Speaker: That you don't, you know. Ashi. I actually started... doing the matchmaker. Actually, she does a matchmaker. Vice has increased.

Speaker: the competition. is really good. I mean, it actually makes... I mean... It ain't none of these fights that's such a lopsided record, you know, that somebody gonna come in and get knocked out with the first punch or whatever.

Speaker: Oh. she has really done a great job on stopping that i mean she really makes sure They fight. They fight us fight. We've got some people now that don't. won't find on our card.

Speaker: because they can't just bring somebody to fight. I mean, she does look at it and say... and take with me. And I don't think I've ever told her how much it made me proud of her. But she'll say.

Speaker: I'm not letting you bring it. bring that junk onto my husband's show and discredit his show. I've heard of it. If you're going to fight, you're going to fight. Somebody.

Speaker: They're doable. I hear it say that a lot. But you know what? I mean, after 43 shows. I mean it's had a lot of ups and downs that we discussed before.

Speaker: I mean, it's been hard. It ain't been easy, especially. No, not at all. It's like you're the old saying, you know, the old saying after being around for years. what they say, you know, uh, You know, it's like a one -legged man in an ass -kicking contest. Well... doing this adventure not been going through country box it's us tell everybody, it's like a no -legged man in an ass -kicking contest. It has...

Speaker: Even though I've had 50 years experience in boxing, had seven world champs and been a dying king 50 years. Yes, sir. I never knew how hard promoting really was, you know, because I've never been a promoter. I was always a manager.

Speaker: Promoters are hard. But I've also been very particular, too, to make sure that when I team up with somebody That it would team up. I would team up somebody that would add value to me. Add value to the show.

Speaker: Add expertise to the show. Add honesty to the show. And... I think that's... what I've got and flow may well. You know, I think that's what I've got.

Speaker: and credibility. I mean, you know, Nobody can ever look at Floyd Mayweather and say you don't know boxing. You know what I'm saying? Not at all. They can't look at him and say, where you don't know how to build a champion.

Speaker: i mean because you know he's been one of the greatest champions we've had and just like you take my 50 years You can't look at me and say, I don't know how that helped. get a champion there. I mean, I've had seven of them.

Speaker: and which I'm really lucky with that, you know, and I've had. Some of my fighters I manage, man, we knocked out a lot of undefeated fighters. You know, it's really funny. I just had a conversation the other day.

Speaker: in my boxing career. as far as manager. Even when my fighters were champions, we always went into the underdog. I've always had underdog fighters.

Speaker: Nobody thought it was going to win or it was going to be tough. But then again, we have won. We have knocked out. I've had all my calls. the bulk of his career. And we knocked out undefeated fighters and then knocked out Lenny Kluiz the first time. you know.

Speaker: and uh And so, you know, it just... I mean... Bruce seldom, they put up a lot of money with him when he was undefeated. We knocked him out. in round nine in Atlantic City. You know, I just.

Speaker: and so so everybody that knows if i'm if i'm promoting you or managing you My fighters come to fight. I don't cum. I don't come just for a payday.

Speaker: If my father, if my I come to win. And one thing that I think that I do. that I'm really very proud of inside myself is If I go there with you,

Speaker: Win or lose, I walk out with you. If I walk in with you, I'm gonna walk out with you. And that's one thing that you see a lot in boxing, you know. A lot of people. They have run from corner to corner to see who's going to win, and I'm not one of them guys. If my fighter loses, we lose together. And. And I just really... uh I'm excited about this.

Speaker: endeavor that's going on. with Floyd, and I can't wait to. I believe that once it gets rolling, that Floyd and I will be a force to reckon with in the boxing world. Oh yeah. entertainment world because you got to understand what country box I mean, even... Don King told me.

Speaker: you know, We were talking about it. Don King told me, he said, you know what? What you're dealing with for music and boxing. Is today's nobody to make tomorrow's somebody? And I'm really proud of that. I'm really proud of that.

Speaker: I mean, so my thing is, I mean, like I said, some of these fighters, you said, I mean, 43 shows, some of these fighters I've gotten at as a top quality fighters. I got him there 2 -0.

Speaker: Now they love to know. 9 -0. you know, 16 and 0. So, you know, but I have help build their careers up to where it's at now. To where now it's time for the beat. big boys.

Speaker: and take over movements, and I'm not. opposed to my fighters fighting with other promotions cards. I believe everybody working together. Okay. There you go. I don't care.

Speaker: Call me. I got a fighter. You got somebody who wants to fight him? Calm. They ain't got to be on my card. I ain't gotta be a promoter. I'm not even going to get you to tell you that I have to co -promote. I don't have to do that. Now.

Speaker: Floor mic. I don't know. We haven't had that discussion, but Flora might say no. Not unless we co -promote it. I don't know. But I know Floyd will know what's best. so you know anyways i'm just trying to be easy to go along with and you know i went through hell to get this point where it's at.

Speaker: And I'm looking for... I'm looking for great things to come out of it for my family, for the fighters, for Floyd and his team. and for the fans to come out and enjoy and support us. And I have had a lot of... great supporters.

Speaker: And I mean, like I said, I'm very excited. You know, Al Bernstein's with me. You know, and I'm so excited about JT Conway. He's been with me from day one. And also Albert Hainsworth.

Speaker: that which is one of my commentators now you know he used to be the nfl football lineman I mean I've got a good crew of people. and they feed my kids.

Speaker: My daughter ended up being a great cup person. My son is trained to be a fighter himself. And then I got and I met so many I mean great people like yourself. I mean, not only are you a reporter,

Speaker: and push. Push Mark. Mass. country box out there. but we've become friends and I'm building relationships. at my old age where I'm supposed to be sitting in a nursing home somewhere. which I'm very proud of.

Speaker: the relationships are building like a one i built of yourself Look, I'm super excited. uh as you mentioned you have been doing this for so long You had Oliver McCall, you had Riddick Bowe, you had Ernie Shaver, so many fighters.

Speaker: Under you. uh along the way now you're about developing these younger fighters again we mentioned you know the maidel sando we mentioned the hermit's orchard we mentioned all these other fires that you have developed along the way so far and now you're looking to build up more fighters along the way. So one question.

Speaker: uh last question before we get you out of here speaking of the fight that's actually coming up This September 1st. Are there any other fighters you wanted to... uh talk about in particular because i'm not sure if i have the updated card in front of me But I know there were a couple more names on there that may or may not have been fighting last I heard. And I didn't want to confirm anything if not. Well, yeah, I got. I got the comeback of Vincent Miranda.

Speaker: He's coming back, you know. He's doing his first comeback after... two and a half years old. I'm very excited to come back to him. I mean, you know, I've got a good card and I'm very excited to see where we go with this. I mean, like say October.

Speaker: Six, you know, I've got Craig Parker. I got Chris Houston. Chris Houston's fighting for an NBA title. Craig Parker is fighting for a WBC title.

Speaker: Uh... I mean, so we got a title fight. on this fight here, which is good. I mean, the October car is going to be so much.
