Speaker: It was a pleasure to be on your show on the 17th. It was awesome to do it live with you. uh to to hold host the show live with you to jump on right when We were talking right when georgia when Georgia lost and Tennessee scored. That's something that I'm never going to forget because like we're in the middle of talking about baseball and all of a sudden Tennessee scores. and yeah I mean, we shifted.

Speaker: Like, yeah what we shifted topics real quick. yeah And then when Peach came on and, you know, decried the commanders and you had me, I mean, well, you had me a little, like, I was agreeing off to the side.

Speaker: um That was a memorable night, so. um Happy to be here, man. Happy to be here. very Thank you. I appreciate you. being there and joining me live that was a definitely a rare very fun time and Amul got to dig into his college football bag while he was up there. so Yeah, that was awesome. That was awesome. There you go. There you go. And then finally, we got our brother. FANG! I call him Fang! That's what I'm gonna call him. Mr. Fang, what's up, brother? Let us know that everybody know about... A little bit about yourself.

Speaker: uh yeah hi i'm john uh john fang or fang as uh you all call me i'm a moles friend apparently

Speaker: He found me wandering around and, like, you know, I guess, like, inhaling for pennies outside of a baseball stadium. That's great. That's not what I meant. That's not what I wanted to say. I meant it to be like you were a journalist, like, going to each stadium, but it did sound like you were homeless, though, now that I think about it. Yeah, why did you do that, Omar? Anyway, this is why we take over the show. This is why we take over the show. Yeah, see, this is why we take over the show, John. Yeah, anyway, yeah, um, yeah, so yeah, um, yeah, so yeah, I've known them all for a while now, we've bonded over.

Speaker: That's baseball, you know. ah And less so his Boston stuff, which, you know, we're not no one's perfect, but, you know. Oh, I appreciate it. I appreciate it. I appreciate it.

Speaker: so but at the At the very least, three people in this call can say they've won a World Series in the last decade. Yeah, that's true. That's very true. Alright. Calm down. Let's all calm down.

Speaker: moved to the area like it looked like they started like trying to like do stuff Which is, you know, I'm like, oh, this is cool. I can get get on this bandwagon, so... Yeah, I've been a fan ever since. So yeah, I was like right around.

Speaker: I just moved here right around when they... um sign got Strasburg up. I'm like, oh, this is... this is pretty cool this is pretty exciting all right i can i get it because like i remember watching them the years before and it was um it was It was something on TV, so... Um...

Speaker: But yeah, no but yeah but I've been a baseball fan ever since. you know I grew up in... uh the new york media market new jersey so a group of yankees fans got to see all that Lovely stuff you know going on. um Yeah, thankfully, I just, yeah, I became a fan of Wright, you know.

Speaker: right after the weird moribund year 15 year moribund era the don mattingly era so um and So yeah, but yeah, I've always been a big baseball fan, also obviously other sports.

Speaker: um But yeah, no. um Yeah, no, you're happy to join you guys looks like there is a mini rally going on with the ah Yes, please. right now If you want to do that, you're more than welcome to jump in, anyone, at any time. Obviously, we're watching the game, y 'all. It is 1 -1.

Speaker: Top of the fourth. Um... We got ah Who's Pitching Jacks, Griffin Jacks. or Tampa Bay is pitching. The number eight hitter, Mitchell. uh for the brewers is up to bat oh we just got a fast ball leading to a uh who's that on third i didn't catch you that was you got to help me out It's one...

Speaker: I don't know who just ended on third, but it's 1 -1. Gary Mitchell's up to bat. So, yeah, keep dont keep we can keep going back and forth. There's no structure, y 'all, so just... Keep jumping in wherever, wherever. wherever Meryl k Kelly.

Speaker: up in the bullpen now. real Real quick, I wanted to bring this up. Game 1 and Game 2, they released the number of viewership for Game 1 and Game 2. Game 1 had over 12 million viewers, which is more.

Speaker: then... For the last six World Series, obviously the the two ones that didn't involve the Dodgers. Right. It was the most watched telecast on any network that day.

Speaker: um Obviously. With two small market teams, you would expect it not to be as good of a... big a numbers, but you know, pretty impressive draw and even game two game two was over 10 million viewers so Um... again outdrawing three of the last six world series wow

Speaker: I believe it, though. Yeah, because I think that, yeah, Tampa Bay has a very strong fan base. You don't see it a lot in the stadium, but if you look at the TV numbers. I was going to say, you don't see that in the stadium. You don't see that at all. They're about to get a new one. They're about to get a new ballpark here pretty soon. Yeah, but they do very well on TV and their broadcast numbers.

Speaker: The Brewers being a Midwest team, they have a huge... like if The market is a lot larger, I think, that people give it credit for in terms of... how the expansion like how how far they expand to the midwest and get on people get on people's tv screens and on the radio ways so I believe that. I don't know. Yeah.

Speaker: i Was gonna say I'm pretty sure the guy that owns the Brewers also owns the Bucks Um... obviously they they't they don't know to Obviously, the Packers are fan -owned, so that doesn't count. But still, that's a huge fan base following out there in Wisconsin. so yeah Oh, yeah.

Speaker: You go out there, they're all over the state. I was in Ableton years ago for... some event i think it was a wedding and you just saw brewers gear people wearing brewers here in the dead of winter Just because... you know, I guess the bucks weren't good that year.

Speaker: But um... Well, like some of us. Unlike some person I know for over 30 years, almost 40 now. Good lord. Trading our teams.

Speaker: uh in the middle of a decade just because they want to win another championship the fact that you went to check your watch for that the fact that you went to check your watch for that it doesn't even charge so it doesn't even work he's got a timer for your friendship I know. He really does. He really does. But I just want to say from someone who changed teams.

Speaker: So much like a chameleon. Mr. I can have five teams. in one sport I really only have two, but, you know, that's okay. It is what it is. yeah these are These are mutual funds. These are sports teams. you gotta to have You got to pick one. Come on.

Speaker: Thank you! well Thank you! and Thank EGG! Fang come and spit in the tree! You can pick five, like, you can pick five index funds, that's cool, do that, but, like, come on. Five index funds. OK, now you're speaking my language. No, but like in all seriousness, Omar is just bringing this up because he lost the debate during the opening reception. Like he was debating people regarding it and was losing badly. So, you know, and that's mostly because I think you were. off checking out art, John, but...

Speaker: um these are fabrications falsifications and disparagements of my name No, they weren't. No, they were not disparagements of your name. Okay, Socrates. I'm going to sue you for libel. All right, my friend. You're going to sue for libel. Okay. like i didn't realize we at dinner with the queen here like i know that's what I didn't realize we were having know. It was a wild Stephen A moment right there, dropping the big words. like

Speaker: yeah i was on my I was on my Stephen A bag for a second. Let's go. Omar just keeps a thesaurus right next to him on his desk. Yeah, that's what he does. Yes, yes. you still he don't He still remembers what AP English was like back in Hayfield. Oh, man. Hey, you know what's funny? I was going to see Bruce today. I might see him tomorrow, but me and Bruce had English class.

Speaker: And I remembered. uh the teacher the kids were so mean to her bro they used to put like All the pranks on her. and she was older. She quit in the middle of the school year. I forget her name, but she quit because they fucked with her so much. it was i felt so but I know, I know. And we heard about it and we were just sad that, I mean, you guys were playing pranks the whole time. Whatever.

Speaker: It is what it is. like it These things happen, so it goes. Mr. Craver was my favorite English teacher. Rest in peace. I don't think I... I do. I love Dr. Graber. I love Dr. Graber. He was my favorite English teacher. It was the only reason I went to any class my senior year because I skipped most of them.

Speaker: i taught He taught it, Mason. for a little while. He taught at Mason for a little while. And he was really good. I think I took a class by him. It was a writing workshop after after high school.

Speaker: And I sat in on some of his high school classes. It was kind of awesome. Um, but ah Mrs. Carl was one of my favorites. She was econ. AP Econ and AP Government.

Speaker: So. yeah All right. one of the reasons that ah reasons that One of the reasons I know you should always keep your... portfolio diversified. So. You know? Five teams at once in the same league. That's exactly what he's doing, Fang. That's exactly what he's doing. Thank you. Fang's a natural for this. That's what I'm talking about. Well, I can take it from...

Speaker: I can take it from Jon. I can take it from Feng. Feng and I, I mean, I can take it from you, too. But, like, Feng and I have known each other a long time. So, yeah like, shout out to that. What are you talking about? Share it. Share it. Shout out to the Half Street Irregulars who might be watching this. I'm going to go ahead and post this. thing How long have you known Fang?

Speaker: and Bro, we go back to, like, what, 08? Okay, get out of here. Four. 20, maybe a little bit after that. At least 10 years. At least, yeah, I'll say 10 years. Yeah, at least 10 years. At least 10 years. Well, we go back to 1988, so I'm going to need you to calm down. I say yes i know go back to 88. I know we go back to 88.

Speaker: Um... AP's like, I'm not even a born yet. hey ladies ladies Ladies and gentlemen, this is just OR doing his thing. You know this. We've experienced this before. thank you for tuning in my brother y 'all subscribe to the bottom line sports Hit that TBL Sports Facebook group. They do a trash talk.

Speaker: and all kinds of stuff in there. It's very fun if you're a sports fan. By the way, update on this game. It is 1 -1 in the middle of fourth. of The Brewers scored a run there. uh to tie the game um there at that half inning uh and now actually we're moving yeah yes That's what we're doing. Brewers are bringing a relief pitcher in.

Speaker: Am I late? 1988, the last time the Mets were relevant. Well, first of all, that's probably true. Like, in a good way or a bad way? It's like, in a bad way, they've been relevant pretty fairly recently. Okay. well I won't say that. I won't give them credit. No, I don't know. I don't know. I don't know.

Speaker: There have been some really good ones. There have been some really good moments for the Mets in the last you know couple decades. We won the World Series in 1986. I mean, in you know, 2001 was a good year. You know, everybody remembers the the game after 9 -11 between the Yankees and that c series.

Speaker: and that was ah That was fun. um bartolo bartolo cologne hitting his first career home run in a men's uniform that was fun Listen, we we just have Obard trying to be like Nas and trying to bring 88 back. That's all he's trying to do. I mean, then...

Speaker: I mean to a degree I can respect. 2015 was a... 2015 wasn't bad either, um you know. I'm sure you want to forget the World Series. world shirt Forget the World Series as a whole, this is a really good but that was still a really good Mets team. and Speaking of 1988, old school fool says the only thing I know about football is that I like my women to be like overtime.

Speaker: with extra downs let's go that makes me pop i like it i like any uh dirty jokes They are allowed here on the Ball and Bunch program, my friend. And to be fair, not not not trying to like...

Speaker: Give them more credit here, but I kind of slightly also root for the Chicago Cubs. Steve! Steve! Here's the thing. that that But that was... i have lost That was because that's because I was mostly i was mostly a Cubs fan in 2003 when they were a really good team. but might but i went full on uh

Speaker: full on Texas Rangers afterwards, so. I've been mostly i've been mostly a 95 % Rangers fan, so if they ever went head -to -head, I'm always cheering for the Texas Raiders. Fang, are you going to drop one on me too? Did you have a a secret team as well, Mr. Don't Know Diversity? Have we been a one -team man?

Speaker: i like i mean like i I grew with Yankees, but I don't watch a you know i but like it's but i stick to them The thing is that, look, I mean, yeah, I moved here. I'm like, well, i'm not i dont I can't get Yankees game regularly, you know.

Speaker: so i'm like i i i But I need a baseball team to follow. I was like, you know, I just need that in my life. So I'm like, all right. i saw the gnats like trying i'm like oh that looks like fun they're trying you know so See, that those was kind of like in the that was kind of like me in the and NBA because I started out as a Mavericks fan, but once oklahoma city once Oklahoma City got a team, I became a Thunder fan through and through. so I think that's fair. This is great. This is great. You can do that.

Speaker: Well, it sounds like Amol is trying to like watch for like market fluctuations with the teams or whatever. We need to buy or whatever in time. like um you you've You've obviously seen this show before because I brought more Jerome Powell references than Omar can count. A big reason big reason why I'm a Texas Rangers fan is because our triple a the AAA affiliate used to be in Oklahoma City. it used to play dad moment It was the Oklahoma City Redhawks. Dad was a Redhawks fan, so that's how I got into it.

Speaker: Tampa Bay scores! There was a ground ball to third. They tried to tag the runner out. He missed the tag. Yeah. the news First base. and And we have a run scored 2 -1. 2 -1 Tampa Bay.

Speaker: They need this big time. Down 3 -0 in the series. If there's if there's any team that can pull a 3 -0 comeback, it's the Tampa Bay Rays. okay I don't know if they could.

Speaker: Well, I really don't appreciate this. I feel like George Harrison. My heart gently weeps right now because all y 'all fools. Just... uh duped me into thinking Especially Fang, that he was a one.

Speaker: A one -man team. I didn't grow up in the area, so like why what why the heck would I be a Nats fan to begin with? I don't know where you grew up. I didn't run an APB check on you. move it at The Nationals weren't even a thing until 2005, so. Yeah, yeah, and again, I move i like i moved here in 2010, so, you know.

Speaker: Right when like you like when they were like starting to try. And dad was a Sox fan growing up. like That's what he told us.

Speaker: And that's when you switched. Was he also the other three? I never switched. I didn't say, ooh, the Nationals are playing well. Maybe I should become a Nationals fan since I lived there. You know like what? i did You've been talking about this since 88. Seriously. Since Rage. Rage shots were good at that time. They were good. That was the problem, y 'all. One came back to beat the Yankees, and then you became a traitor. After that, it was crazy. Omar, don't you cheer for multiple college teams? You do. I've heard you say UCLA, Notre Dame, and a couple others.

Speaker: No, no. Thank you. This was what I was going to try to make this point. But, you know, Omar thought that tonight was any given sacrifice. He forgot to, you know, sacrifice goats. This game is the one and only UCLA Bruins, okay? I don't know how many times I've been playing this. i don't forget nice don't notice he's Don't forget the Kings of LA. Don't forget UCLA for some reason. I support Maryland.

Speaker: Because I am an ah an alumni. because you went there yes yes obligatory that i must support them But I don't cheer for their sports teams. And actually, every time I see the game between those two, I always cheer for UCLA. including the time when the UCI women's basketball team sucked.

Speaker: like 10 -15 years ago and the maryland gene was really good And I wore a UCLA hoodie in there. And we got our asses stomped by 40, and I got made fun of by the basketball team as I was walking out. The same thing happens when VCU plays UVA. I went to grad school at UVA from 2009 to 2011.

Speaker: And I co -signed Not support. or cheer for but co -sign Vanderbilt University only because i only because i was I was a professor there. So I talked there. I have to. say you have To do.

Speaker: No, don't! Cheer for UCLA. The other two are... obligatory i have would do That's three. That's pretty good. Three.

Speaker: That's like Jay cheering for North Carolina in basketball and Miami in football. That's crazy. I mean, listen, ladies and gentlemen, um clearly Omar needs a course in in elementary school arithmetic. And we provided that for him tonight. So, you know, you got advance provide beats it out Simpson beats out the double play ball. By the way, they've got a lot of memes going around the stadium. where they turned him into an actual Simpson character.

Speaker: Did they really? Yeah, it's kind of funny. That's cool. it's kind they They did that with a lot of... Uh... characters back in the last few world series Oh really? I didn't know that.

Speaker: I know Um... That they're always trying to do that like meme wise I don't I can't remember what they did with that our our meme was basic our meme was basically we uh because uh towards the back half of the season and into the postseason they started listening to creed all the time Oh, right!

Speaker: broke throughou Throughout all on our entire playoff run, they just kept playing Creed bad. Do you feel bad amount there you do love gar you would not talk about about?

Speaker: You probably like, you probably like Nickelback too, don't you? What the heck did Nickelback do? You're a Nickelback fan? You're a Nickelback fan? I am not a Nickelback fan. Omar is I am not a Nickelback fan, but I do support Nickelback.

Speaker: Omar is a certified Nickelback fan, by the way. He is a certified Nickelback fan. He can't get people that like the Nickelback. He can't get a photograph out of his head.

Speaker: The song photograph, you still can't get it out of his head. I would rather have a Nickelback halftime show than Jay -Z. There I said it. I was wondering when we were going to get to that because I think I sent you guys a meme where it was, I guess, Kung Fu Panda.

Speaker: I was gonna yell at you, but I'm not going to. You shouldn't yell at me. You shouldn't. I'm gonna yell at AP. But I'm not going. out I was going to say, I'd rather have a tenacious D. Tenacious D. I mean, okay, I could take Tenacious D.

Speaker: Nickelback, I'm not kidding. We're not accepting that. They've been teasing that it might be Taylor Swift at some point, so they better pay that off. i don't know when that'll happen he's probably waiting for her boyfriend or her husband now to retire ter ger he doesn't yeah If she doesn't get pregnant first.

Speaker: Hey! Don't you put that juju on her. He can still come back to me. Come back, Tay -Tay. You know I miss you, baby. I'm just joking. It's all just... Would that help or hurt Kelsey's numbers? Depending, you know.

Speaker: As someone who had Kelsey on his fantasy team when they were getting together, that didn't help as at all. it didn' It didn't help me either. it It's why I didn't draft him again. He looked rejuvenated at the beginning of the season. Now the past couple of weeks, he has not played well at all.

Speaker: What? He started the season pretty well. Yeah. That's that's also because Patrick Mahomes didn't play well. Did you see that? They got shut out, oh basically, three points the other day yeah to Seattle. Yeah, I'm dropping him. I'm dropping him from my fan. I'm dropping my homes from my. yeah I think that's a rash decision, my friend. i think that' okay science and up Here's the thing, though. That offense is going to go as far as Kenneth Walker can carry them.

Speaker: That offense is going to go as far as Kenneth Walker can carry him because yeah know if he doesn't have a if he doesn't have a good game, that offense is going to be poor. i'm sorry now i know why i consistently used to bga put that belt to a moon's ass in fantasy all the time.

Speaker: Because he's out here. Dropping Patrick Mahomes after two bad starts. Like, who does that? Well, i he's also on my bench. Like, I start Josh Allen because in my league and Omar. How do you go to those quarterbacks?

Speaker: This is what I'm saying. this this is the league at This is the league you're in. I'm Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes. How did you do that? I know I have Lamar Jackson, so that's why I didn't need a second quarterback. I drafted well, you know. Oh, we only have 10 teams in that league, don't we? Don't we only have 10 teams? No, we have eight teams. We have eight teams in that league, sir. We have eight teams.

Speaker: and And here's the thing. Like, I know my team is awful this year. I think we've only had one win. um ah First, first, I just want to say this before I get on to fantasy football.

Speaker: Can we please have whoever the graphic designer is at Fox Sports? Please, please resign. Do not put out another AI swap. Like, no matter who wins tonight,

Speaker: I don't want to see AI swap recap in the game. Please. If you're a graphic designer. Because in previousview the last few seasons, like we know that the graphics teams are over budgeted. like They put out they have put out some wild, wild shit at Fox Sports. They i do. But out there, it's disappointing.

Speaker: how They do. it's it's it's like horror It's like a horror movie. He's like, okay, there he is. Meanwhile... Feng just kept moving back. Oh, I'm sorry, my bad. I was like, where is he going? My bad. Meanwhile, ESPN and ABC continue to steal animation from your local bowling alley.

Speaker: yeah yeah Yeah. You know they're going to do the Star Wars Super Bowl, right? Yeah, I heard, yeah. They're putting it on the Disney channel, I think. Yeah, they're going to do an alternative cast. That's why Jay -Z's doing a halftime show, because it's ESPN and Disney, of course. Brewer's tied it up.

Speaker: Griffin Jacks. ah for Oh, you're yeah, you are a little bit ahead there, buddy. You are a little bit ahead. of me Yeah, you're ahead of me, too. Yeah, me too. That's fine. david David Hamilton, former Red Sox. What?

Speaker: Um... Yeah, good for good for the Brew Crew. No, our fantasy football team is... ball. Our fantasy football league is solid. My team sucks this year. But overall, it's solid.

Speaker: oh Your team we should never suck if there's only eight teams. I don't know. Mine was auto -drafted. I mean, I only drafted some of it. I didn't draft all of it. I know. I know. I was there for the whole thing. And maybe I just don't know how to draft anymore.

Speaker: But it's still fun nonetheless. You're not the sports professor. No one expects you to be that, so it's okay. I'm not trying to be the sports professor. I'm an award -winning photographer. Why do I need to be the... You weren't taking that You're taking that title. Man, he is really throwing that award. I just plucked that on you, buddy. but what Don't let him become a devil. He might lose his brain. It might blow out his head.

Speaker: Nah, I'll be good. I'll be good. It's called Pulitzer. You're right. I got a big ego of Beyonce over here. um i don't know who that was either do you want to You want to, you know...

Speaker: You guys, were you referencing before you actually referenced it? It is tied up 2 -2. ah Brewers, as you just heard us say. tied up the game. Hamilton with a home run.

Speaker: Hey, guys, it's 3 -0 Milwaukee, as we know. Tampa Bay really. needs this game. Let's ah stop bullshitting a little bit and actually talk. about what we've seen. So far.

Speaker: um in this series so when you're looking at this we've got these two small market teams We've talked about it all season long. about how the upcoming lockout, we'll talk about that in a little bit some more, but the upcoming lockout.

Speaker: paved the way for these sorts of conversations. Where? Eight. The Dodgers would be eliminated, even some people going as far as... to claim possible conspiracy theories of of of of tanking.

Speaker: um in order to uh boost up the lower market team so they can win so then that they do not a lockout due to the salary cap and all this other mumbo jumbo what we did get was two of the best teams in the league the brewers were the best team all season long leading the major leagues in wins. The Tampa Bay Rays just as good. Both teams really good defensively.

Speaker: pitching, Bullpens. Excellent bullpens. for both teams. They know how to play small ball. The era of Moneyball lives through these two teams.

Speaker: They know how to play every. little skill that is necessary now in baseball because as we remember gentlemen there were a lot of changes made over the past few years.

Speaker: BASIS were enlarged. so that the distance between bases was less. There were also less. pickoff attempts or even look over as you get capped at three now This boosts up stolen bases.

Speaker: We've also seen changes in balls. um from year to year and we talked about that earlier in the year that will inflate or deflate the home runs and or vice versa. The strikeout rate. depending on what the balls or what the major league baseball is trying to achieve. by changing their baseballs in the offseason. So this has brought us again to two teams. looking to win their first World Series ever. The Brewers haven't even been there.

Speaker: since 1982 when Amul was born. He's an old guy. So, actually, I think it was born in 81. I believe, weren't you? No, I was born in 82, so were you. You were born a couple months, you were born a month before me. I was born in 1987, okay? I am 30. I'm 30.

Speaker: 39 years old. Wow. Revisionist history on the on the show tonight, ladies and gentlemen. Revisionist history on the show tonight. And here's the thing, too. These two these two teams have been to the World Series a combined five times.

Speaker: Probably the least amount. Other than... Other than Seattle, who's never been to one. Probably the two teams that have the least amount of halves. Very low little to the least amount of of appearances all time in the World Series. so It's so impressive.

Speaker: It's a fresh matchup, which is really good. And again, these are the two two best teams in baseball this year. Yeah, and they play in some very, very tough divisions. You know, that you know the...

Speaker: The Brewers have to contend with the Juggernauts and the NL Central. Obviously, the Rays got to deal with all the the the Yankees and Red Sox, but also the the Blue Jays, which have been... who've been pretty insurgent for the last few years. So back there here is...

Speaker: Just a testament to a lot of the... a lot of the in the the work on the margins they've done needing to try to figure out an advantage on that end so Well, it's fundamentals, right? It's something that we've been talking about off and on.

Speaker: like fundamentals is The key, I wouldn't even say it's Moneyball. i know you called it money ball omar but like i think it's It's like the next level above money ball or whatever two levels above that is call it money ball plus if you want to Well, money ball, huh? You're going with the Donald Trump super intelligence?

Speaker: over I wasn't trying to make that reference. I thought you were making a Super Mario reference, but no. that was Either way, I wasn't going to attach Super to Moneyball. I don't know what to call it, but basically it's a return to the norm. It's a return to what everyone's used to.

Speaker: Well, I think it's more they're just trying to... Because you're finding... Moneyball is all about finding the un... like whatever the whatever the market inefficiency was quote unquote At the time and right now.

Speaker: Because I think for a while, like the Oakland A's actually... Because everyone knew the Moneyball A's was basically just like... Dudes who can crank home runs and take walks. There was a shift later on where they were like,

Speaker: they shifted away from that because like everyone just started signing those guys and like having dudes who all they could do was crank home runs and take walks and had the speed of a speed of like ah a death straw you know Shout out to Adam Dunn. so Um... ah so for So for a little bit, the Oakland A's actually started.

Speaker: changing a little bit and starting adding like a little bit of the defensive guys beat guys that because again that's a new market inefficiency and so i think now with when we were like a lot of teams are focused on three true outcomes quite frankly kind of dull baseball like these teams are figuring out okay we gotta this is how we got to do we got to find the runs within the margins because again no one's coaching how to apparently field buns no one's really you know stealing bases a lot of the time because again the traditional money ball station is station running doesn't

Speaker: you know encourage that so find no that's the new market inefficiency and finding guys who are speedy and defensive -minded are are are fairlys fairly it's fairly 30 50 and fairly easy easier now especially with the focus on all those all the other those other factors.

Speaker: But I think that's what they've done, right? And you see that not only from... the executive level down right to the coaching staff who are but focusing on those said fundamentals. yeah Defense. uh running um you know making sure we're hitting for contact instead of going for the long ball you know we were all obsessed over uh you know a launch launch angle for so long. And it's like, well, maybe that doesn't always work. Maybe you need to put put together runs other ways.

Speaker: Yeah. yeah because it's come down to one one kind of topic and i think uh thing you talked kind of alluded to it it's the analytic side of baseball versus the actual baseball knowledge side of it and i think you're starting to see more teams Go back to the baseball knowledge.

Speaker: and and use the fundamentals of baseball more. Because look at the... Three of the last... three of the last four teams that were in the postseason. These two teams that are playing tonight in the Cleveland Guardians, what's what's the difference between... these three these three teams.

Speaker: Um, very layers All three are small market teams. yep All three play small ball, play with the fundamentals. They have baseball guys running running the show.

Speaker: not saying Dave Roberts is a baseball guy, too. The problem is that the Dodgers are more of an analytics team than anything. when it comes to their front office dealings. But Dave Roberts is still a baseball guy, which is how he's able to put that put that roster, complete roster together. But...

Speaker: Still, you've got baseball guys. Kevin Cash is a baseball guy. Steven Vogt's a baseball guy. Pat Murphy's a baseball guy. These are... These were the four best teams.

Speaker: in baseball this year. And... you know And it showed. It showed. And you look at some of the rosters that are... you know throughout the rest of baseball. Amul, I know you're sick and tired of hearing what Craig Breslow's done to the Red Sox this year.

Speaker: Oh my God. There's not really a baseball guy in Boston right now because they got rid of the guy who was the baseball guy. Is there a plan there or is it just kind of like just kind of letting it do it like AI take over?

Speaker: I think they're letting AI take over. It sounds like it. because like i some I think that AI is going to take over and Peach is going to hate me when if we have another season next year because I'm probably just going to pick him third again.

Speaker: um and a wild card because that's all they're ever going to be. realistically until they actually go out and signed players long term that they need. alllthough They're not spending money. they don't under so I think they're know.

Speaker: Yeah, somehow they're like signing free agents but also shedding contract money. At the same time, which I don't know who's making those decisions, but... pick a i think I think they even bought out one of my contracts too at some point. So, I mean...

Speaker: you know um But it's a lot like when the Mets bought out Omar's contract because he couldn't play third. So, I mean, you know, it's it's very similar. Is Omar Omar David Wright? I wore this finger.

Speaker: Binkle as I know it. and then you know third base or second base Look at the Yankees, too. that They haven't changed any of their problems yet because, you know. They don't want to. Hal Steinbrenner said, oh, we're this team can win now. No, they can't.

Speaker: you Well, Aaron... Boone's back next year. you've been trying in trying You've been trying that since 2009. And literally with Aaron Boone, it's been like over a decade.

Speaker: You have not won with Aaron Boone. You've not won with Brian Cashman. You've not won with Aaron Boone. The Yankees have had the same problem for God knows how long. It's like... The pitching is just not there.

Speaker: And they're trying to... Essentially, they're trying to do, like, what the gnats were doing, but, like, maybe at a... a couple higher levels, like, well... We score a zillion runs. which All you gotta do is just make sure you score a zillion runs minus one.

Speaker: So again, Great for the regular season. You can do that during a regular season. But once one, you know, the postseason happens, you might want to start considering having a bullpen. or some sort of pitching staff. you can You can kind of kind of throw it out there. You can't just... ah hope that you can just match the other team into submission.

Speaker: I'll give you guys a team to watch out for in the future, and I think I've said it on this show a couple times as well as our show on Wednesdays. The LA Angels. Oh, right, because Cronky. Cronky just bought him, right? Yeah, Cronky just got bought out. Brought out by Stan Cronky. He's going to...

Speaker: If there's one thing you need to know about Stan Kroenke, he knows how to put the right people in the right spots. Look at what he's done with the Rams. Look at what he's done with the Colorado Avalanche. The Denver Nuggets.

Speaker: Literally every Arsenal is another one. Arsenal shot a trophy. Literally. literally every sports team he owns. He gets the right people. in the front office to make the right decisions and the right moves.

Speaker: to go win them championships. He's going to do the same thing for the Angels. He's going to get a baseball guy in there. to help build that roster around Mike Trout, because Lord knows Mike Trout is not leaving.

Speaker: Ever. Ever. There's only so many years of Mike Trout left, too. so so But... guess he just They're going to build a solid roster around him. They're gonna build...

Speaker: They're going to get some baseball guys into L .A., and don't be surprised if the L .A. Angels here in three to five years are not only winning the AL West, but winning the world series. Because the AL West is pretty open, too. It's not like some of the other teams weren't.

Speaker: it's a little bit more stacked on top. So it's a wider open division with a little bit more ability. Literally, clearly if an if an Astros team put together by duct tape and hope... can win this division. And you you get a baseball mind in L .A. with the Angels, they should dominate this division.

Speaker: Yeah, because i mean theyre they they also play in L .A. like There's no reason they shouldn't be able to tap into that market, too. Because Seattle, I always say this about Seattle. Seattle is always a one -hit wonder.

Speaker: If they have a really good season where they have a great, you know, put up 90 wins or so and make a deep run in the postseason, that's all you're going to get. because the next year they're going to fall completely off and then it's going to be like five years of mediocrity before we see them start to build up again. That's just that's that's been the Seattle formula. That's that's all they do.

Speaker: So you're saying that at some point... We'll see them climb the mountaintop. it's It's going to be a rare experience. Ho, ho. Ho, ho. I mean, I got it. What a strike by our Mesa Jr. Oribe just out here throwing sinkers. at 100 miles an hour.

Speaker: Wow. Oribe is one of my favorite. He's one of my favorite pitchers in all honesty. My bad for stepping on you, AP. You can go. No, no, you're good. You know what I'm saying? And it's a whole... in Look, the A's too. We brought them up with when we were talking about Moneyball earlier. They're moving to Vegas here pretty soon. Vegas is going to bring a lot of profit. They're going to bring in a lot of capital and revenue. I mean look at what it's done.

Speaker: ah Omar, for your Raiders so far. Thanks. While the team hasn't been good, they're still bringing in a lot of money. Hey, hey, hey. They're good this year. They're actually not bad.

Speaker: They're actually not bad this year. They're not bad. Not only that, look at the... they have a first First couple years they had a WNBA team, they won a championship. They've won three titles. They have a five -time MVP now.

Speaker: Damn right. Agent Wilson. Shout out. They have a... a Stanley Cup winning hockey team. That's fact so that did it right after their inception to like a couple years ownership ownership for the a's puts people in the right spots Mmm.

Speaker: That's another team to keep an eye on in the AL West. Hey Fang, do you think the ah the our mutual friends at HSI are going to want to listen to any of this? I was going to put this in the chat. I'm sure they would be interested in some of it. I mean, we kind of bring yeah i mean I'm sure they might. Be interested in a little bit more baseball stuff, obviously.

Speaker: Yeah for sure. diverse, geographically sports fan -leaning things like that. might be a little challenge for some folks but yeah especially for the baseball stuff i think interested in some of the opinions and thoughts that people have.

Speaker: And apparently we've already shouted out JP. We've already shouted out Jerome Powell, so... that That I guess. checks off that obligation.

Speaker: Um... So, Omar, real quick, I heard a bit of wrestling news today that I thought might interest you. oh I wanted to get your take on this. like you like I heard that potentially after WrestleMania 43, Bruce Prichard's going to step down finally.

Speaker: Oh, really? Yeah, that doesn't surprise me. I imagine he would at some point. That he's going to finally retire and... I think from what I heard, Bobby Roode's gonna take that spot. Okay. You know what? I'm not mad at that. Bobby Roode is a great wrestling mind and has been sitting in in that writer's room for a long time now. uh he should have the chops to do it um Now, obviously, losing an amazing wrestling mind like Bruce Richard.

Speaker: And i'm i'm'm I'm blessed to know this more than most people because one of my best friends. um actually works for WWE. wwe TV production.

Speaker: So I know ah but about and of. most of those people in that room. because I talk to him about it all the time. So Bruce Prichard, he tells me is a. is a fabulous wrestling mind that you know obviously gives them really good ideas on. on week -to -week basis but But yeah, you know, hey, everybody has to retire at some point. He's old.

Speaker: So he's got to be in his, what, almost 70s, mid maybe? Yeah. Cool.

Speaker: good though Good for him. retire yeah rude though that's a great choice i like that choice not that it matters Triple H runs everything that happens in that room, so it doesn't matter anyways. Every decision is going to come back to whether Triple H wants it or not. TKO runs everything that happens in that room. That's true.

Speaker: That's true. but it's if it wasn't if If not for TKO, they wouldn't be going to Saudi Arabia. this in the company thats That's a really good point. That's a really good point. Well, Canelo's fighting in Saudi Arabia soon, too, so... Oh, wow.

Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. ah but Thank you, TKO. Thank you for putting people's lives in jeopardy. Right, yeah, I mean, everybody's lives are in jeopardy. Anyways, all right, back to the baseball. We got our seven -inning stretch where they do the...

Speaker: um support for all the people that have cancer. obviously a horrible disease that we wish there was a cure for. So, you know, if you can donate. Please hit that screen, that QR code and donate to stand up for cancer. Great organization. But yeah. So, um yeah, ah one thing I wanted to bring up about this while we you have no baseball going on.

Speaker: is uh the funniest part about these two teams playing is the fact that they both have Haunted hotels. where the opposite team is usually staying at. Where's the ah Tampa one? i don't I know about the Brewers one, but where's the one in Tampa?

Speaker: Yeah, so the Brewers one is the Pfister. hotel um But over the years... uh, apparently Uh, Vinoy... resort and golf club in St. Petersburg.

Speaker: Uh... they they've said have had has been haunted they talked about you know the the root the voice is the uh lights the lampshades moving and all kinds of things that you kind of hear it Conchit place. That's the other place. yeah but nice so cause I tend to like historic -y kind of hotels, and that usually carries the risk of, like, ghosts. So i I think the one, I was in Tampa a couple years ago.

Speaker: And I'm pretty sure the hotel I stayed at was also rumored to be haunted in like the lobby area there'd be like herer goes That's where the ghosts should hang out and stuff, so... so Ha ha! That's great.

Speaker: Have a drink with a ghost in the lobby. That would be tremendous. Yeah, in a lobby bar. I'm like, oh, that's cool. I mean, I'm actually I'm actually I don't like ghosts. I mean, I understand there are such things. I don't really care for this, which is weird because I'm a not a fan. i mean I'm a huge horror movie fan. Like I will watch horror movies over anything else. So, but it's, so it's weird that I don't like ghosts, but yeah, no, I don't ever want to. see a ghost in my whole entire life you know they're doing a new i play guy out of fright You know they're doing it ah ebb and they're doing a different version of Ebenezer Scrooge?

Speaker: with johnny depp that's a horror movie that now look yeah i will say one thing yeah Johnny dip. Johnny Depp fell off a little bit after the pirates of the caribbean and then his he did he his case with Amber Heard.

Speaker: But I will say before all of that happened, Johnny Depp was in my top three actors of all time. And that's a high list. because I have Morgan Freeman and Denzel Washington up there, but he was not. He was one of my top three favorite actors for the longest time. What about Michael Caine?

Speaker: No Michael Caine? I don't know. Michael Caine is good. Look, I started liking Johnny Depp because of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Because that's one of my favorite movies of all time. So I really liked him in that and Benicio del Toro too. uh but anyway so but then you know after pirates kick caribbean he started taking some roles you know i didn't really even like his version of um willy wonka So it was kind of like he started getting kind of, you know, weirdish. And then he had the whole thing with Amber Heard and going to court and all this other.

Speaker: shit and then i was like ah so he's kind of like not up there anymore i probably have replaced him with tom hanks who I think is an amazing actor as well. But you know what? There's a lot of good actors out there. We should probably go around the horn. Who's your favorite actor? My favorite actor is Morgan Freeman, hands down.

Speaker: Who is your favorite actor, AP?

Speaker: God, this is tough because I don't watch movies no more. Um... Amul, do you have one while he's thinking? Morgan Freeman, the voice of God. Yes! Are we both? Is that both our favorite actors? That's tremendous. I love that. Yes.

Speaker: Fang, do you have one? Oh, boy. ah I was thinking about this the other day. I got it! I do appreciate the range that Matt Damon has in terms of being an actor.

Speaker: Like an action star, but also like a dramatic actor. Go ahead. Because, yeah, I mean, like, a part of me also wants to say Daniel Day -Lewis, but he, like... Gets wild intense with like his like is method acting.

Speaker: so He's a method actor for sure. does do very Very compelling. compelling parts and it really embodies the character but like Matt Damon's range is... pretty pretty good he's good no he can do all types of roles yeah that's true yeah Yeah. AP, did you think about one?

Speaker: my Mine's actually a voice actor, it's Keith David. lovely me name Okay, keith David. Um... oh like the boy is you know david Who is Keith David? He's done a lot of stuff. I don't know. He's done so much. I wouldn't know voice actors' names, okay?

Speaker: Sorry. What other voices has done?

Speaker: Oh my god. Yeah, what but what voices has that guy done? I'm going to need you to help us out here because I have no clue. Have you seen Rick and Morty? Oh Rick and Morty. He's the president. why he's president Oh, okay.

Speaker: He was in Coraline. He's done Rick and Morty. Rick and Marty. He's doing husband hotel right now. po husbands been hotel he's he was He did the gargoyles when we were kids. armgoilts Yeah, he was Goliath. He's Goliath. He's Goliath. he was goliath Oh shoot, wow, what a throwback there.

Speaker: And Keith – like, looking at him, Keith David, he's a – I mean – I recognize him and in regular roles too. Yeah, he's had another regular role too. He's got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Interesting. Okay.

Speaker: So yeah, that's the Pfister Hotel and the Vinoy. In St. Petersburg. Anyways, I just wanted to bring that up. I thought that was funny. That's pretty cool yeah. Oh, yeah. i Yeah, I'll always...

Speaker: my My favorite actors are usually the voice actors because I'm a big cartoon buff, so... Ah, okay. I would always played it like Tom Kenny. is definitely up there for me because obviously spongebob and a bunch of others stuff from when I grew up What do you think of Kevin Conroy?

Speaker: And please be careful of how you answer. The original Batman. Yes, yes, yes. yes there is no There is no better voice to do the animated Batman than Kevin Conroy. No better voice.

Speaker: And Mark Hamill has to be the Joker too. that's Yes. You know, he stopped doing the Joker after Kevin Conroy passed away. yeah He was like, I'm not doing it ever again. It's like it's two sides of the same coin. Bram. that literally It's literally the...

Speaker: The yin to the yang. Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill. And I don't watch a whole lot of movies. I still do, but like I pick and choose which movies I go see in a theater now.

Speaker: And... I have to say, to Tip of the hat to Matt Damon. I read The Odyssey in high school. you know, when I was 16 years old. Thank you, Latin class.

Speaker: for five years of, hey, can you translate The Odyssey this week? It's gonna be Greek. It's great. It's fabulous. I love... how everything unfolded.

Speaker: even though I sort of, I already knew the story. To the people who didn't understand, like, the Cyclops and everything. Bye. Read the book. And if you can't read the book,

Speaker: do what they do now which is i guess you've got an app that you can put like the book on top of the app and It like speed reads it for you. It gives you like spark notes. do that if you can't read because i realize a lot of people in this country don't do that anymore He said read a book. Bitch!

Speaker: also Also, if you're a redneck like me and you still don't understand it, go watch Where, Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? That's basically it. Yeah. Yeah. yeah Brother, we're out there. All right. ah Here we go.

Speaker: Top of the sixth. Martinez pitching Freelick at bat. I've got 1 -1. I know Fang's ahead of us. But that's 2 -2. 2 -2. It's still 2 -2.

Speaker: i'm bar you need to you You need to hit forward on your thing, because it's q too new. Okay, it's not my fault. i'm in the top of this a i'm watching it i'm watching it online he just flied out so Yep. Okay. Yep. Yep. We're two outs on top of the six right now. i'm I'm behind. Yeah, I'm behind. He just flew out.

Speaker: on my end, so. I might be... We talked about bullpens. My bad. I didn't mean to cut you off. It's okay. I'm talking about bullpens. The Brewers bullpen has been magnificent and they kept coming back.

Speaker: as well. So they've gotten down in games. um not Not obviously yesterday when they blew ble blew them the hell out. BLOOD OUT! Uh, but is it... Is it actually 9 -0?

Speaker: It's actually not enough. Yes. gar adsby What a great. uh reliever and Sorry, I didn't mean to run over you. I didn't mean to run over you. My bad. I thought you were going to continue, though. um And some other good players. wilson contreras obviously jack centurio doing well on the offensive side of the ball I had some stats.

Speaker: For. Contreras earlier, but I think I... I think I erased them, so. Well, you're pulling them up. i read I saw a stat before this started saying that the Brewers were favored to win 70 % of the time.

Speaker: Hmm, interesting. And I was like, wait, what? Like... Really? Okay, that's that CD. That's... ah Because I thought it might be more of a 50 -50 split or a 60 -40 split. So not only have the brewer... Not only have the Brewers been 8 -0 in games where they've trailed,

Speaker: to start out the game. Very good stat, yeah. um They have not lost. a game. Since game... three of the ALDS.

Speaker: Okay. which was yeah Which was way back which was in San Diego. They lost 4 -3. They have not lost since. Yeah, they more have, like, the best playoff, like, in Los Angeles. 05 White Sox, and I think the 90... Ayyyy, you're 90...

Speaker: oh god 98 or 99 yankees yeah so like yeah they only had that one loss and in the earlier series so we'll just It's very impressive considering the caliber. teams we've been playing so Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah, especially the Padres. The Padres were white hot coming into the postseason. Oh, God, yeah. The fact that they... The fact that they were able to cool down the Padres and win that series was impressive enough. Then you go...

Speaker: go against L .A. and sweep the Dodgers out of the postseason. This is... This has not only been one of the better post postseason teams we've seen, this has been the most impressive postseason team that I've seen.

Speaker: seen recently. And I think it's a testament to their their bullpen and pitching staff at large, because again... Your bats will get you to the playoffs, but if you don't have pitching, you're not going to survive. and I think San Diego's issue, again, they were i Mean the slam viego, you know reputation says says enough there so Yeah. fact you know the that Milwaukee's pitching staff could cool those bats. It's a testament to it.

Speaker: that's how well they're doing Yeah. a win A win tonight would give them nine straight wins to end the postseason. and Yeah. i want to back you up on that i have a sports professor stat for this game tonight.

Speaker: uh The only team. to ever sweep the league championship series and the world series in the same year to date is the 1976 Reds, the big machine, the big red machine.

Speaker: there with Pete Rose and the rest of them. BUDGE! Since the LCS went to seven games because the Reds didn't play... seven games in LCS. It was five back then. Since it went to seven games in 1985,

Speaker: Nobody has ever. done it so the Brewers can be the first. ah yeah you're you're calling that us You're calling that a sports professor stat? It is. Okay. All right. I'm just curious when you're going to mock the graphics. When it'll say sports professor stat. And then you give this stat. You know, that's i get a show a sir doing that for a long yeah that's what i dance's what i' I was waiting for the siren. That's what I was waiting on. you been You've been inspired me because I've been doing sports professor stats for a long time. I should have like a.

Speaker: like a buzzer's something Maybe I'll do the DJ horn. Also, isn't this though is it just the longest win streak since the the Red Sox in 2004? Yes.

Speaker: Turn it around and run eight straight. Which Omar loves, by the way, because Omar loves the Red Sox. That was the second part of my set. So they could also break a tie.

Speaker: with four other teams. The 2014 Royals. The 2005 White Sox. And... If you ask the traitor in the room.

Speaker: Amul the Agilist? Both the 2004 Red Sox and 2019 Nationals, somehow he's a fan of both of them. Uh, all tied at eight. in most consecutive postseason wins.

Speaker: You bum. How do you? I mean, listen. How do both of your teams... They just happen to be... Two of the top consecutive postseason win teams of all time. First of all, you're fine. That's what he's saying, yeah. Listen, listen.

Speaker: Are you done? You've been doing this for years. I wait until you... You always punch yourself out. It's great. I'm done. I'm done. oh Are you sure? Do you need a timeout? Do you need to go sit in the back of several regal bedrooms? Enlist one. sports. He said picture. What's up?

Speaker: Hmm. Also, I'm just saying, if you need a timeout or you need a Snickers, we can get you one. i know I still say the Rangers was more impressive because we won all our games on the road. So.

Speaker: hey Okay. we won we won it We won every game in the 2023. Uh... Playoffs, though. the brewers ability to put up 10 runs last night like that was a b to a moment because the ability For them to just go, you know what?

Speaker: We're just going to put up tent rods. and then like they let the the rays have one run at the end i think they Final score was 10 -1 or 10 -2. The petty ride, yeah. a pity run. Like, you know,

Speaker: It's there's there were Their run here in the World Series has been so dominating, like it's been sneaky dominating. And... I think we... It balances the scales a little bit. I think it speaks to whether we're actually going to have a lockout. I think we might.

Speaker: um But... I don't know for how long. I don't know if it's just going to be 27 or if we're including 28. um, because I really don't want minor league teams to be defunded.

Speaker: you know I don't want them to be using college baseball as a... um, I know that's what they do now, so as to speak. A little bit. They have college baseball and then they've got minor leagues and so on and so forth.

Speaker: But to eliminate minor league teams, I think would be a great injustice. Okay. He came talking about it and they... I mean... The sports professor's dead!

Speaker: Here we go. let say public i can't I can't anymore, ladies and gentlemen. Hold on. Hold on. William Contreras is hitting 538 in the series.

Speaker: The only two catchers to have finished with a higher average. minimum of 10 plate appearances is let's go all the way back to 1914 hank gowdy of the Braves in 1919. Ivy Wingo song of the Reds.

Speaker: Speaking of that... $5 .71 is Jackson Cheerios. Average. so far in the series. The last hitter to match that average through the first 14 World Series bats was a throwback name of Chris... Sabo in 1990, if you remember. He used to wear the goggles.

Speaker: On the field. i like Oh, yeah, that's right. Yes. That's right Come on. Yandy Diaz 0 -2, just got a run. Or just got to hit. There you go. Okay. i Just got to hit, not a run. You just got to hit.

Speaker: Okay. so sorry i know you're having fun i know you're having fun gogging things over there but you know i figure out what i want to use should it be like a train whistle or something like that? Should it be a little Jim Ross? Should it be? Maybe. That's for every time Jake makes a good argument. You have to play the JR.

Speaker: Yeah. we have to You have to put him there. Maybe... Maybe. Play the last sound before that. No, play the last sound before that. What was it?

Speaker: Son of a bitch! Okay. I thought there was one in between. I thought there was one in between. I'm using that for Jake. You should use it for Jake. That's me. That was me 20 years ago. Do you have a goat sound, by the way? Do you have a goat sound? I have chickens.

Speaker: Meh. Oh wait, those are crickets. i have chickens Those are crickets. Give me chickens. Nah, nah. Keep going. Keep going. Hello there.

Speaker: Maybe a dinosaur?

Speaker: You know what you need to load on that thing is you need to load a du the gameplay for GoldenEye, like the pause screen. You would love that. You're just a woman with a small brain.

Speaker: With a brain a third the size of us. right It's science. It's science. That's what Will Ferrell says. All right, let's keep it moving. we Get back to the game. What do we got going on, gentlemen? A guy running on first got doubled up earlier on a line drive out. so Two outs on the bottom of the sixth.

Speaker: It's two and one. Uribe is throwing. some gas seriously um that our slider is a little unfair Yeah, it really is. It really is.

Speaker: that I want to bring up. Yes. we We did our preview show two years ago. Obviously. The, uh... the not the nl central was completely flipped on its head whenever Craig Council went to the Cubs.

Speaker: So the the the rule of thought there was, okay, the Cubs are going to be great. We have no idea who Pat Murphy is and the Brewers just lost half their team. So they're probably going to fall apart.

Speaker: we We all picked them to finish last. Not only did they not finish last, states they won the division. Now you look at Because that that's other than Christian Yell, it's it's not there's not really a name. In Milwaukee. or at least last year, that you're like, okay, this is the guy that I can...

Speaker: identify Milwaukee Brewer. But this year it's been Jacob Mizorowski. You know, you talked about a rebate earlier. He's come on as one of the stars of that bullpen. And there's there's so many other young guys, Jackson Turio, who was a rookie last year and kind of stepped up this year to become.

Speaker: um Not necessarily more of a face, but obviously they named Yelich the captain. but you know, Cheerios kind of the the heart and soul of the team. offensively for them. so There's now more guys. There's now more guys. Yeah, I mean, you're coming in.

Speaker: Uh, you know there's more guys you can identify with pat murphy's done a fantastic job of leading this team the last couple years and Honestly, to me, he should be National League Manager of the Year. Oh, definitely. I think so, yeah. you Or or the least at the very least in consideration for it because he's done such a fantastic job with the Brewers the last two years.

Speaker: Yeah. and Look, I mean... You talked about it. Junior Caminero, Jackson Churrio, Wilson Contreras. I mean, a lot of a lot of good...

Speaker: Hitters, a lot of good offenses. players on this team. Jake Bowers, who had a big moment against the Dodgers. yeah yeah You go out and you get Jake Bowers. I mean, you go out and you you just set the table with really...

Speaker: like really smart trades. And... the ability to fill out your team the antithesis of what the twins were doing way back during the spring training you guys remember when i was knocking the the the twins way back when But um...

Speaker: You know, the the Brewers, I think, might end up being a model for how you can build your team moving forward. will get the We were talking about the the Angels, ah you know. 20 or 30 minutes ago before Omar started gonging everyone to death.

Speaker: But, um... You know, uh... I think the angels in a few years. will probably be a lot like the brewers are now. where you think about it, you look at the Brewers, Yelich is the only household name.

Speaker: Trout the only household name. you know building the team around them and ensuring that um you know, Trout King get a World Series. Maybe LH gets a World Series this year.

Speaker: And then that way, you know, he gets that gets his. Gets the monkey off his back. Um... the I think the Raze will be back. Next year. or the year after, maybe they're definitely going to be in the mix.

Speaker: Um, Yeah, my bad. I said common hero. I didn't mean Caminero. I meant Contreras. That's who I meant. so Yeah, we knew we know who you meant. It's okay. it's it's it was a senior look it was a senior role on the screen and i wanted to bring this up to y 'all because He was a senior moment you were having. It's fine. Because, yeah, I know. The Caminero just got called ah called like on a... um on a check swing and the the game the other day ended.

Speaker: On a Czech Swig. ah So i'm I'm wondering, did you all agree with that call? Did you think it was a check swing or not?

Speaker: i'll goll I'll go first. I thought it was. i if If the back... Makes it through the plane. could Then it's a check swing. Or that it's a strikeout. if the even if you're checking your swing if the bat makes it through the zone I'm sorry, but but... you have struck out.

Speaker: So didn't like to me that it was ah it it wasn't But then when I saw it on replay from the side, it looked like he did go through. I like the aerial shot. There was an aerial shot. Where they you can that you can see the back clearly go through. Okay.

Speaker: Like, I'm sorry, like it's indisputable proof. Like. You know, take it to a court. You're going to lose. Um... Top of seventh here. Yep.

Speaker: What do we got up? I got Hamilton on my screen. I got it i got Hamilton up too. Yep, yep. Counts one, two. Spoiler alert for those of you behind. No, you're good, brother. If you see something like that, like the double play, just go ahead and step in and call it. yeah or I'm hoping it to get to home run here, but we'll see.

Speaker: We'll see.

Speaker: May I request a home run? Sorry, I'm just doing stuff I do when I go to Natsport. It's a 2 -2 count for me, and Hamilton just fouled it off, so it's still 2 -2. mark I might be slightly behind there, yeah, because he's about to foul it off there. ye All right. It's okay.

Speaker: Oh, foolo that was a nice pitch. Nice sinker. They got some nice sinkers in this game going on. By the way, shout out to My New York Mitch! Francisco Lindor.

Speaker: named a Roberto Clemente Award recipient for... Hamilton struck out. Hamilton strikes out. Dang. For good... deeds off the field so shout out to francisco My man.

Speaker: do two Your Mets will be back in like five years. yeah speaking speaking of Speaking of voice actors, I completely forgot about Tim Curry. Oh, see i Tim Curry. Tim Curry. That's a good, that's a good, he's cause he can be acting too.

Speaker: Yeah. Shout out to the Rocky Horror Picture Show, by the way, for those that... We're going to Midnight Showings on Halloween. I will say this. what am i One of my favorite movies that...

Speaker: That Tim Curry did. was actually the Clue movie. Yeah, I like that movie, too. I like that movie, too. That is amazing. I love it. My friend found out. I hadn't seen it. And so he's like, we were doing it. It was like a board game. And he's like. We have to put it on. So you stop the board game. He immediately gets his...

Speaker: I think VHS copy of Clue, and we why we watched the... Tim Curry made that lyric. And not only that, I got to see the... um the kennedy center had a stage performance of it too and it was pretty yeah true to the uh true to the movie really good really good it's really It's really sad what's happening with the Kennedy Center. Hopefully.

Speaker: Hopefully there it doesn't get demolished. so peter cuen Peter Cullen is another one. Optimus Prime. He just passed away. just passed away and Another one that just passed away Eric bowser the Looney Tunes. ways actor Yeah. Yeah Heard about that. Just passed away like two days ago. Yeah, two days ago. Literally. like Go look up. One of my favorite things I've seen him do recently is he did an interview where they had him read.

Speaker: One of Liam Neeson's lines from Taken as one of his characters. And he did it as Porky Pig. It was... Hilarious. It is hilarious. I love it.

Speaker: All right, what we got going on now, guys? I got 2 -2. Top of the seventh. I'd probably pass that now, though. With... 3 -2. Yeah, true. Oh, is that? Ooh.

Speaker: oh oh did he get god yep that's an out I need Martinez to stop rocking on the mound. I know that's his thing, but I need him to stop. It's distracting. Yeah. So maybe that's the point, you know, I mean, you know, imagineinary watch that guy.

Speaker: kind of go you know shake it back and forth but ah yeah No, you're right. Jake Bowers coming up, right? Jake Bowers. Yeah. Anyone here see a Project Hail Mary at all? That was also another good movie.

Speaker: um, Of 26. It looked way too long. Now, I will say I forgot, but you reminded me now. ah is I actually went and saw Odyssey.

Speaker: In. the theaters it was the first movie I have seen in a theater in like... Probably like seven years. What did you think of it? what did you think of it it was great i don't like long movies but it kept me interested the whole three hours now Did I think it could have been shorter? Yes. i thought it could have been 30 minutes shorter i thought they could have cut out some parts that were really Unnecessary for them to go that deep into but I get it whatever you want to keep people at the theater longer. I understand Um...

Speaker: But, no, it was a really good movie. I enjoyed it. I think they just wanted to be true to the source material. i vote like three I just don't like three hour movies because I don't want to sit there for three freaking hours. And the book for Project Hail Mary.

Speaker: The book for Project Hail Mary was actually longer than the movie. Like... It added some stuff mean that wasn't usually the case. Yeah. but like the movie i think was like two hours even or two hours 15 minutes something like that Ahem.

Speaker: Somebody was trying to jump in there. i's go but i just send me just gonna say over Yeah. i was gonna say they're on the commercial I saw the last Spider -Man movie that just came out. so Yeah, so did I.

Speaker: Are we looking at... having a lockout, guys, or are we... You know, it's gonna happen. It's gonna happen. Yeah, they're they're trying to play it off like it's not going to but and then they're trying to spin it to where it's like oh the two small market teams is the reason why we're having no No, the reason why we're having a lockout is because the owners are greedy, they want more money, and the players are like... And so that's why I want to push back on that small market thing you're talking about. Because again...

Speaker: like teams that have claimed that like so for example like if we knew about this we've known about this the whole time like these guys are making money you're not doing this because like you're nice so like i remember like in 2000 10 there was a scandal where like financial documents from the pirates got made public and it turns out the pirates which are a small market team were crushing it in the profit section And so...

Speaker: Yeah, like, I mean, yeah. I mean, yes, I understand you're in the the team ownership business to make money but however like if you're not if you're like year in year out not investing any of that money on the team, you're claiming poverty, you know, maybe, you know...

Speaker: ah I tend to look down on like... I'm a small market thing and mind you this is 2010 This is before like the... much more robust media market that we have nationwide.

Speaker: for MLB, because again, back in the past, it depended on your regional your market and we can argue that those numbers as well but nonetheless it was very dependent on regional sports coverage here so obviously if you have a well -populated area like new york you need to make a ton of money a like ton of money if you own a region like you know boston does with a big medium you can make a ton of money If you're like Cleveland or like some of the...

Speaker: you're or like smaller like than like less midwestern -ish teams you're probably not gonna make as much money but Nowadays, with MLB Network, with the fact that you can Anyone can subscribe and stream their team from wherever you want.

Speaker: Mostly. in the United States. the And the coverage, the nationwide coverage is so much better. Um... Yeah, I think we should probably, the the fact that owners can claim small market thing, that's part of the issue.

Speaker: They're pretending, oh, I'm a poor, you know... struggling you know mom and pop owner of this Major League Baseball team. No, you're not. Like, I mean, like the worst you're doing is maybe mid -market at the very worst. So I think this this mentality of small market only feeds.

Speaker: into the owners you know and like their desire to like yeah Again, you push for this logout, essentially. Mhm. Yeah, because unless unless that you bring up the word salary cap and meanings, they're not going to listen.

Speaker: Yeah, like yeah and And it's stupid because they're hanging by that. But here's the thing. Like we just saw, two small market teams are playing for a World Series championship right now.

Speaker: Right. And three of the final four teams were all small market teams. Again, small again and the small the small has gotten larger. over the years so again like these teams could spend like i mean You know, a lot of these teams could spend a lot more. There's no excuse for it.

Speaker: to To me, they're about it's all about putting effort into wanting to build your organization. Because there are times when we... And we'll see you with the Red Sox. They put no effort into wanting to put... they put no effort into wanting to build that team.

Speaker: Actually, no, let me... I wanted to go back to the Pirates real quick. Fang, because I was curious for your opinion whether you thought that there needs to be like a floor where, because I know that the the Pirates owner at one point said that he wasn't going to spend over like a certain amount.

Speaker: but didn't really have a floor. So would you be in favor of a floor or do you think that's what's going to get everyone? Like, Because obviously, like We don't want to walk out.

Speaker: And i'm so I'm just saying that I think we will because it's trending that way. But... Do you think that small market teams or teams in general need a floor to spend? and See, that's a tough call. so like one of the things that like One of my mantras that I have about baseball and pro sports writ large is that winning is a merely a byproduct of profits.

Speaker: so Right. That's fine. Yeah, so like it's hard like I mean ostensibly yeah, I want these teams to spend but also How are you going to enforce it? Because you can...

Speaker: You can jimmy a lot of the um like the things with regard to like a spending floor I think, you know. um Yeah. Like, one, like, so like while, like...

Speaker: one Arne Moreno level free agent signing and you've got your floor covered, if you will. doesn't make heat That's great. you know yeah and by the way for that side note go check out the athletic article about it it's wild so so but that doesn't mean like you're gonna like you're spending responsibly on a wide variety of players so Yeah. there's I mean, the thing is that like there has to be...

Speaker: I think... if there's a way to engineer a lot more incentives to actually win. make sure you have a winning team. and like Yeah, the fannies and seats probably helps a little bit when you have a winning and team. But, like, I don't... But... there's no there's no like again you can have a craft team and still make a profit in that money.

Speaker: because again tv money is so good um because and it's so much money for everyone involved so but and there's no incentive to win so your team your team your game's always gonna be on tv somewhere you're always gonna have your radio you know you're always gonna have some form of nationwide coverage, whether it be through Fox.

Speaker: or ah those Fox or the various other providers that that do these games. So I'm not sure, but but there has to be some sort of way. to make them care about winning. Because again, like... The best way to do that would be to take a... take money away from the owners.

Speaker: packy like hey if They're not signing up for that, yeah. if yeah yeah and If you're maybe, like, any... if you like and or and that if In this level of competition, I think we thought we talked about this a while back. like Say you're in the bottom five.

Speaker: of the league and you're consistently in the bottom of the league for like five years. Thanks. they'll they come to the owner and they're like hey you need to put this amount of effort into, you know, putting a team together. Otherwise, if you don't change by next year.

Speaker: you must You have to sell your team. Yeah, or, like, some sort of incentive, like, if you yeah place, depending on your placement in your division or whatever, you get a bonus amount of money. So, like, I know in...

Speaker: um A lot of like soccer leagues, you get. you have you get they divide the kitty from TV Money. based off of where you place in the league so if you place higher you get a little bit more you know if you don't place as well you don't get get less money So and again, but so that.

Speaker: In turn does induce some trying to win. So in in American sports, again, you don't really... Winning again is merely the byproduct of profit. so to try to induce some sort of...

Speaker: either incentive to win or penalty For just like. fielding the bare minimum amount of team you can put out there like the A's did for God knows how long in their last days of Oakland.

Speaker: are in. to this day now you know um to to be like hey if you're just gonna do the bare minimum then we're gonna either either figure out a way to find you Or, you know...

Speaker: Cut off. You're not getting oh you're not getting this Buku TV money that you're from the Nationwide. broadcast or the MLB network that gets you. um they has to It has to hit the owners.

Speaker: In the wallet because again, this is all money. It's it's a business. This is a entertain it's entertainment it's it's sports but it's an entertainment business it was industry so Top of the year, by the way.

Speaker: Top of the eighth inning, by the way, the... uh race just hit into a double play so that's we're going to the top of the eight Thank you, sir. Yep, so yeah, just yeah, but yeah figuring out a way to like make the owners like care about winning because again it's so personality driven like So, for example, wo the Nats, a lot of yeah lot of that was driven by one of the...

Speaker: learner like family guys once he passed they're like okay well we can just kind of Kinda, like, let it, like, let install the self -licking ice cream cone. Let it hang out there. um like the a So for example, the 80s for the longest time, what they called...

Speaker: Pretty heavy. Right. Yeah. And then once they sold... it became like okay now we have to like turn like internal profit and like it became what it is nowadays. um So...

Speaker: and That... Yeah, and so that's problematic. Um... but again in order to prevent that you need to induce you know owners who can who care about winning.

Speaker: And not about like, in you know, owners and managers care about winning ballgames and putting a... competitive product on the field because again there's very small minorities of maybe maybe not even a handle anymore.

Speaker: team's really gonna put the money out there for the top level amount of talent on on the field.

Speaker: Oh, I forgot Jason Momoa was in Oklahoma City filming. I forgot about that. oh Really? What are you doing right there? He's doing. What's he doing? Down here in OKC. I forgot what film they're they're shooting, but...

Speaker: he's out he's just down here at lkc hanging out like his band's gonna be performing saturday In midtown, bro. Hell yeah. See you. I'm actually not going to be able to because I'm going to South Carolina, Oklahoma Saturday. so Ah. No.

Speaker: Oh. Nice. Good, that's awesome. I literally live i literally lived two miles from Memorial Stadium, so it's literally just a walk. Nice. yeah So... what's What's the update on the game here? just to top Oh, they haven't come back from commercial. they To me, they haven't come back from commercial yet.

Speaker: We're Oklahoma City. Oklahoma City's film industry is booming with four major productions, a quick searched through gun ah through Uncle Google has produced Copperhead.

Speaker: Jason Momoa is filming Copperhead. it's actually There's actually a movie. or not a movie, ah a book called Demon Cop. overhead that I think this is based off of.

Speaker: Uh. ah Sorry. Pipe cleaner boy. stars Abigail Breslin, his heart, is as stars Asai Morales and Kelsey Grammer.

Speaker: And then the effigy. ah We don't know who stars in that one. Targeting a November production start. So you've got your pick. of stars you can hang out with.

Speaker: It'll be like when he's film industry. Yeah. I don't know. okay Yeah. she I heard for a while that... I'm going to say OKC as a whole is starting to grow grow more and more.

Speaker: um They're getting a new arena for the Thunder here pretty soon here and in the next year or two. There's going to be a gigantic... Oh, really? There's going to be a gigantic sports complex.

Speaker: uh, in Midtown. that's going to be specifically for softball. So it's... probably going to be where the softball world series is going to be. um softball or like pro softball college softball college softball but they also do have a uh I can't remember what the acronym for it is, but they have a pro softball team. um Cool.

Speaker: So they have both for that and for the College World Series whenever that happens. Um... And I know they have I want to say they have a an arena football we used to have an arena football team but i don't think we do anymore i know Is it real football still around, or is it like...

Speaker: god because we i don't dc had a team We still, yeah, the DC defenders are still around, but I don't know. yeahnas they call not like No, That's XFL. Oh, that's XFL? My bad. We're actually getting a UFL team in OAC here pretty soon too, so that's another thing. Oh, cool. i don't then Then in that case, I don't know if we've got an arena, if the Arena Football League is around.

Speaker: Okay, because I remember, yeah, the um I went to a game at the Verizon Center. and I think the but but the highlight of that game was they someone spilled popcorn onto the field and they had to stop the game.

Speaker: to sweep up the popcorn that was on the field. oh That's funny. What's the update for the game, gentlemen? the We are top of the eighth. Two outs. 0 -1 to the batter. Pitch is... Ooh, swing and a miss. Strike two.

Speaker: Um, yeah we're we're getting this is a lot more even game i think the rays Kind of woke up and won, scored some runs, and then, you know, tightened up the tighten up pitching. All right. Another fact. Pat Murphy actually had a heart attack back in 2020. Yeah, he did. he talked He talked about it in a media press conference that it changed his whole outlook.

Speaker: on things and and you know. Kind of kind of propelled him to to the spot he's in right now. so Hmm?

Speaker: What's the list of Pat Murphy's coming up? Kudos to Pat Murphy coming off a hard attack and leading the Brewers to back -to -back division championships. No, if I remember you, I wouldn't like headboard bank you run the National sandling Series. and its Like a hard condition.

Speaker: or whatever. else Yeah, I remember like... air condition Yeah, and then, when like, I think there was a game six of the World Series, he, like, ran out in the field, like... So like, yeah, like I was like, oh man, oh no.

Speaker: Don't do that. Yeah, we all were wondering about that because I think I was at that game too. Yeah, I was watching and I was like, oh man, he's gonna... Ooh, like, did can, like, someone, like, get him? Like, your bench coach, like, yo.

Speaker: calm down yeah Can can can you kick someone come get our boy, please? We want to make sure he doesn't collapse on the field. Yeah, we don't we don't need a very special moment on on the baseball field right now. Yeah, yeah, we we we that's not what we need. I mean... yeah I think the Nats in the next couple of years are going to do decently well. I do. um,

Speaker: they just gotta they gotta find a bullpen it isn't built out of things you find in the T .J. Mag's bargain bin? Yes. Yes. Yes. yeah like I mean,

Speaker: i know it's hard i know base i know bullpen construction is very very hard a lot of it is catching lightning in the bottle but Jesus Christ. And also like, I get it, like, you...

Speaker: Like, what the people ask, like, what are you supposed to do? I'm like, fam, it's not like you it's not like you can go into a baseball season and be like, oh, snap, we forgot to sign catchers. Like... The bullpen is an essential part of your baseball team. roster you can't just be liked all right we're gonna go on linkedin we're gonna have people apply to this position and figure it out Like, no, he said it like this.

Speaker: These are essential parts of your baseball team. And, like, add those gross negligence to i think that's why they just little bit of just going vibes. I think that's why they do tours in the offseason from time to time, because... I remember when I did one with the, it was ah the School of Business, the VCU School of Business. I think they asked to take a pitch.

Speaker: Yeah, they let me throw it from the mound. They asked if I could pitch. And I said, sure. When do you, like, do you need me? And they were like, yeah. You hit him with the . No, no, yeah I did better than that. I did better than that. I was able to throw it over it i was able to overthrow it over the plate.

Speaker: but to the to to john's point like any video of this i need video of this but john and to john's point like you know that's basically the way that ads have been constructing their bullpen is you go to tj maxx you get what you need you go to marshalls you get what you need and you you put it together and it's like a 5a You know, it's not even a minor league. bullpen anymore.

Speaker: But Connelly early is pretty decent from their ah trade. the ah I know Curtis Meade went to the Sox. But early is a stud. he's Once he comes off of injury and he rights his ship a little bit. I think he's going to be right as rain. He could...

Speaker: um He could be their ace. I mean, he could be the race. Yeah, but i think I think, yeah, but you definitely need to, like... Prepare. Like, these have a competent bullpen. Like, it's...

Speaker: Like I mean and I get it it's hard like you need it is hard because bullpens are very mercurial you're relying on very short like sample sizes to judge someone's talents. That's hard. Yeah. so But also,

Speaker: It's clear, like, they were just like, alright, whatever, we ain't doing too good, it's your effort, we're just fine. whatever whoever responds to the to the listing on linkedin we're getting and like You can't, no, you can't, like, you can't. like you can't just be like it's again it's Again, it is literally a part of your team and a roster. It is like literally just going into a season and forgetting you don't have any catchers on your team.

Speaker: No. So the Brewers open as a 1 .25 ERA this postseason. It just came up. on the broadcast which is incredible yeah and again it yeah it's incredible yeah Yeah, it shows that yes, you need yeah you definitely need solid pitching.

Speaker: to survive in. In the postseason. And like the fact that their bullpen can do that shortens the game up. for them If you can't touch him within like the first few innings. Good luck, homies. Get out.

Speaker: Yeah. and And there was also another stat saying that Tampa Bay Rays were 55 % likely. just score three plus runs i don't know if that's accurate but You know, we'll see. For this game? It's just for this game. It's just for this game. that they're funny They are not looking 55 % likely to score any runs in the first half. I know. I know. i Listen, I'm just telling you what I say. I agree with you, though. I agree with you. that the the the Brewers' bullpen.

Speaker: It can and will. I think shut down. The ray is, look up. just the way DLR was pitching. Why update we got it really started it really started for me in game to the NLCS Choo choo.

Speaker: The moment Yamamoto got... The moment Yamamoto got pulled in the fourth inning... No outs. I was like, okay. The Brewers are about to go ham on them.

Speaker: Because... If you're pulling that guy early... if something goes There's either something going on or somebody's telling Dave Roberts this isn't working.

Speaker: Yeah, because Yamamoto's a gamer. That man will, you know... If the arm is still attached to his body, he'll pinch. Yeah. Got a pop out. We got one out. Can of corn in an elevator shaft.

Speaker: I was a can of corn in the elevator shaft, ladies and gentlemen. but go that would have meanwhile omar and Meanwhile, Omar, you are muted, and... Get a corn. Get a corn. That's all I'm doing.

Speaker: I'm just yelling cannon porn. Heh heh. As, uh... Fang slides deeper and deeper into the back rooms. I'm sorry, yeah. Sorry, I'm just tired like that's okay like... I'm leaning back into the chair, you know.

Speaker: goful after dark but let's see let's see if Let's see if this works for me. now Maybe, no. It's all good. okay

Speaker: so I don't know how closely y 'all follow the NBA. But, oh you know, I've been talking to a lot of. talks here locally that with all the injuries that have happened especially in the backcourt You had Case Tom Williams, right? Just now. Case and Wallace. J -Dub. Both out. Both out for the season.

Speaker: Um... There's talks that they that ah Sam Presti may give Russell Westbrook a call. Whoa, bringing up Brody, my man Brody. that's ah that's breaking That's breaking news. So where's your breaking news? um like down anything for suppress they there they They asked him, they're in a press conference, he he hasn't Thought of his art.

Speaker: Cause that's the bottom line. That's a great beat. They're from the same area anyway.

Speaker: ive I've been throwing this around. A lot of people here locally, they they love the idea of having SGA and Russell Westbrook in the same backcourt. yes What do you think about it Unlocked.

Speaker: I love the idea. I love the idea because... Russ doesn't have to be the number one. anymore? Yeah. because shea obviously is the number one he's the he's the he's the go -to guy But if you put them out there both at the same time, it's like...

Speaker: you know You have the past and the present. Together. And you you still have talent top to bottom, even with the guys that are out. AJ Mitchell's still a stud.

Speaker: a shooting guard. like You still have Chet who's healthy. You still have the kid that they just drafted, Mara, who's healthy. You still have the pieces you need.

Speaker: to go win a championship. Two outs, bottom of the eighth. Wouldn't it just be poetic justice? for Russell Westbrook to come back for one last year.

Speaker: and retire with the ring. Yeah, where is he? Is he out of the league still right now? is he not I thought he was in Denver. No, he just retired. He just retired. He signed a one -day contract with Oklahoma City and retired.

Speaker: Ahhhh! So that's why I'm saying he east he still does charity work and stuff around the city. That's what I'm saying. All Sam Presti really has to do is give him a phone call and say, hey. would you be willing to un -retire and come back and play? Yeah, of course. Literally, I will say this right now.

Speaker: I was literally, I would say if he does i retire and go somewhere, it's going to be Oklahoma city. It wouldn't be anywhere else. Right. why would do we Who do we like to win the... I know it might be too early, but who do we like to win the ah NBA Finals?

Speaker: Or at least, um... Well, i don't like and I don't like the injuries that have happened with OKC so far. Neither do I. um I had way too many... Way too many degrees across the board. There's too many inconsistencies right now.

Speaker: in in the NBA to... definitively say, hey, this team is the favorite. Yeah, um I had picked the Spurs.

Speaker: at the beginning of the year. um to win the championship so i'll stick with that all year long until i see something different ah but Trevor McGill's coming trevor mcgill is coming out now.

Speaker: Ooh. He's going to be... He's going to be pitching ah the light arm last out of the ah last last third the at the very least.

Speaker: Yeah. yeah

Speaker: and then go in to pretend if the if the Brewers do get a lead, he's probably going to try to close the game out. Let's hope the Brewers get a lead.

Speaker: Yeah, man.

Speaker: Let's hope the Brewers get a lead.

Speaker: Now I was curious because I'm... I know the season just started. Just take the first pitch out. Yeah. That'd be mad funny. That'd be insane. That'd be wild.

Speaker: Okay, so the Brewers, four and a half. I've only had two Ks and two runs, whereas... ah the Raze Four and a half, only one run. In that time frame.

Speaker: Mm.

Speaker: Come on. Let's see what happens. First pitch ball.

Speaker: ah Yeah, you're ahead of me. Are you watching the TV broadcast? or i'm watching a dvd broadcast yeah okay i'm not i'm on stream so i'm gonna be like a minute behind That's alright.

Speaker: That's the thing with like... So I know a lot of teams have moved to regional. Or not regional, but they moved to like the... The pay -per -play, basically. Subscribe to the channel.

Speaker: yeah the subscription model like when the when Because I first got acquainted with that when... When the Washington Cavs did that. And I was like, all right, I know I hate cable. But...

Speaker: It's until you guys stop carrying, you know, monumental sports. I'm probably gonna still keep. Cable. began And they stopped carrying Monumental Sports.

Speaker: No, they still have it. comcast still has or Xfinity still has it. oh okay well i don't have oh i don't have i have verizon so yeah it's uh Yeah, Verizon isn't really good in Arlington. That's what I realized.

Speaker: where I am now. yeah Yeah, that's fair. so is not a lot of There's not a lot of good services in Arlington, to be honest, as someone who recently just stayed there.

Speaker: That's okay. It's not good. That's why. But like... builds it so tomorrow's going to be game five if we need a little bit of game five.

Speaker: But yeah, it's... I basically kept it so that I could watch. um when I want to watch Nats games, but... ah Also, like,

Speaker: you know, I don't want to pay $200 just to watch like one team, but I can go to the and MLB Network. pay 25 bucks a year, I get a special rate.

Speaker: And then, you know... Watch all the teams except for. the Nats. All right, we're going to the ninth. Going to the ninth. right Of course we will.

Speaker: 2 -5 -1. For both. Oof.

Speaker: All right, so who's pitching? Who's batting? Give me some updates. They're about to go to the top tonight. uh yeah we don't always be uh gonna be trotting out for the for the mound or whatever so yeah We don't know yet.

Speaker: Uh, from, the ruler if you got. For the Brewers, you got Freelick, Pratt, and Mitchell due up for them.

Speaker: Cut. Cool.

Speaker: Imagine Freddy Peralta walks out. yes

Speaker: Because I'm still on commercial. Yeah, so am I.

Speaker: ah I'm on that HP commercial where they're talking about I don't know what they're talking about.

Speaker: so Okay, cool. A self -driving server? Okay. Oh, no. As an IT person, Okay. I get why you're doing that.

Speaker: It's to drive profits. Thank you, Matt Warsh.

Speaker: were Oh, yeah, I know which one you're talking about. With the race car drivers? Yeah. You think they're going to be cut because of AI? Yeah. But it wouldn't be fun to watch a robot drive a car around a track. I want to know that human error is at stake.

Speaker: So here's something that's interesting. There's an AI company. I've got to actually look, I've got to look up the name of the company again, but there's an AI company that trained its ai but to trained its robots.

Speaker: to job. So it had a launch. from the second floor. onto a mat. And then... When it came time, to ah disassemble said robots.

Speaker: because there the company was it wasn't tesla it was another company but um it was proprietary tech. What they do is they set up a vat. of fire, basically.

Speaker: and the robots were already trained to jump from the second floor. So all they did was they gave the the robots the cue to go to the second floor and jump. And there are these they they actually took images, stills, and video of this.

Speaker: And it's like they just... look like they're you know freely jumping into a a swimming pool. Like, they're kids. Yeah, it's... it's i i can find it real quick and send it to you guys but it's it's ah it's the To me, at the time, it was the most hilarious thing I've seen.

Speaker: Hmm. Interesting. All right. All right. we i have I can find it. that we have here Ah, yes. Baker's pitching. The company was called figure.

Speaker: The company was called figure figure. Yeah. let me Let me get a... ah um like a news Clip. from it. Sir. Al Freilich is at bat. We have a 0 -1 count right now.

Speaker: Alright. 1 -1 Who's - Who's pitching? Uh, bacon Okay, Baker.

Speaker: Are you not watching anymore? No, I am, but y 'all are ahead of me, so I don't know what's happening ahead of me. AP's got the TV broadcast, I guess, so he's probably waiting. I'm on MLB .com in there oh okay all right i'm using the update update really quick I've seen Mare's probably a little bit behind you.

Speaker: I'm on Xfinity, so I'm a little behind. Yeah. Freelink grounds out to first. Omar, I just sent it. I sent it in the baseball podcast. um Ciao.

Speaker: okay On IG.

Speaker: Oh, God. Yo, that's dark. You're just telling, you're commanding these robots to commit suicide? Yeah. No. What?

Speaker: I mean... that's gonna be holy Yeah, you laugh now. Wait until the robots rise up against us. I mean, you're right, but I say please and thank you when I communicate with... ah AI, so hopefully I'll be spared.

Speaker: I mean, yeah i meanll I'll say ah actually that I like this stuff too, but it's not going to help me at the end of the day. Yeah. I suppose not. I don't know

Speaker: one One one one one count to prep here oof oof Oh, shit.

Speaker: By the way, um for those that were hoping that Omar would sing his theme song. on the 17th. I was just as disappointed as he as you were. Because Omar didn't even...

Speaker: Didn't even try. Yeah, unfortunately. I had to sign a contract. before going on stage that said I would not break any copyright laws. And technically...

Speaker: My intro music is not owned by me. It was lent to me by the person that made it. But... technically that could be rescinded at any time and i didn't want to risk it so i just i made some music in the ai machine so that way i wouldn't have to worry oh no dude come on Yeah, I had to. I had no choice.

Speaker: You could pick a plink out a tune yourself. I could have, but I didn't have enough time because I didn't know I was going to have to. I didn't think about it until like one or two days before. so You could have just hummed it out, you know? I could have. yeah You could have. had Pratt's on first with a base hit.

Speaker: oh There we go, alright Who's on first? This is how we're at, right? Nice, good reference. Yeah, the top of the ninth. We are out. Ground ball through the hole on the, yeah, there we go.

Speaker: Alright.

Speaker: Pret three for four to- tonight, by the way. Definitely a mouse. yeah Ooh, what a game. hopeful Hopefully not related to Spencer, Brad.

Speaker: Oh, the guy who ran for L .A. mayor? Yeah, also the reality TV star. That too. before that.

Speaker: You're pulling out all kinds of references tonight, my friend. ah Oh, no, this is just scratching the barrel. umm I mean, I know it's a normal occurrence. Yeah, it's a normal occurrence for me. you know i You know I do this stuff for fun.

Speaker: It's just the way my brain works. Okay.

Speaker: Mitchell flies out, nearly hits it out. Ooh. All righty. Caught it right at the trap. Hit and run, too. Oh. So that means it's 2 -0. Oh, that's a nice that's a good catch, though. That was a very nice catch. He could have...

Speaker: That could have been extra bases easily.

Speaker: that samson out That's Simpson out there in left field.

Speaker: Oh nice. Heh heh. Hehehe. It was like... a simpson Simpson's got that look like, not today, not today. No, he's just like, the he's got the very much like, ooh, man, that was ah for they close. We're throwing out Andrew Vaughn as a pitch hitter right now.

Speaker: Andrew Vaughn. Hit a home run.

Speaker: Babe Bopper. Hit a home run. God, that's a reference. I'm so sorry. and bet but get back it back to the base but So there is an image that I will be posting at some point over the next few weeks that I took. Last. last weekend.

Speaker: It was at Glen Echo Park. For those that haven't been to Glen Echo Park, basically it's a decommissioned 1950s, 1960s style park. And you can go in and still like...

Speaker: you can rent some of the places and whatnot and take pictures of the signs. and it's creepy to a degree. And there was an old man that was sitting right by the arcade.

Speaker: And for whatever reason, it made me think of Back to the Future. Because... you know the arcade style was 50s 60s I thought you were going to say he was a ghost.

Speaker: I thought he was going to be a ghost because then he got up and walked. Oh, okay. whos and he disappeared when i showed back up And they were constantly historians of old Van Morley.

Speaker: Omar, you okay? Yeah, it hurt my neck trying to watch that video you sent me. It's on the side. I'm like trying to watch it like this. I'm like, oh, my neck. By the way, I sent in our Instagram group chat, I sent the... ah video of the um Looney Tunes voice actor doing the take in line as Porky Pig.

Speaker: we got to add fat We should add Fang to that chat. Oh boy. I'm watching. i think we should but Okay.

Speaker: Oh yeah, by the way... ah Shout out to Jonathan Grishman who, by the way, just got promoted to... the interim head baseball coach at Coastal Bay College in South Texas. so

Speaker: and get a huge Congrats to him. so Absolutely.

Speaker: A lot of good people. getting good Getting jobs in this world. That's a fabulous thing. honoron goes dollar See? Ooh! Still in base, yep.

Speaker: Ooh! I don't know if that's Lord Zane. I don't know. Look at that. Here we go. Here we go. Are they gonna look at it? Are they going to look at it? That's worth entertaining to look, but I... I mean, you want to get out.

Speaker: Thank you. Next.

Speaker: o Let's see here. the challenge No, they challenged the play. It's it's upheld. Okay, good. They got him.

Speaker: I think they got him. He had a replay. He might have gotten him on the hand. I need to see a replay, but it looked like he might have caught him on the finger or something. Yeah, he got him on the mitt. They're showing a replay on Fox right now. He just got him. Yeah.

Speaker: Let's see. Let's see if they call that though. Oh, yeah. way. Wow, oh they made it very close. Ooh! No! Oh, no, he missed him at first.

Speaker: He did but he got him on the second part, yeah. So he mixes it on us and the on the base? Da -da -da. His hand barely comes up. over the glove.

Speaker: I don't think... and he to me He might have gotten them on the rebound, though, so we'll... Let's see. He missed this i draggedgged him on tagged him on the back. You talked to him on the back side. He tagged him on the backside.

Speaker: You don't see him. His hand comes up. Oh! But he's on the base of it. Ooh. What a great lift. There are outfielders starting to walk towards the dugout. So there's this thinking that maybe he is out.

Speaker: We'll start seeing. Is the MLB feed the just like the regular Fox broadcast? or yes Uh... What I'm looking at right now is it showing, like, the batter's box and, like, the strike. Oh, so you're not watching a TV broadcast.

Speaker: No, oh god's just the life it's this the feed from it's just the feed from .com. Okay, I'm like watching. What it also does is it has the field view and it has all the players like the dots where all the players are at and it's Yeah, I'm actually watching the TV feed. That's why I'm like, that's why I'm being a bunch of players.

Speaker: That's why i'm like I'm seeing a bunch of players moving around, so I'm kind of assuming they're they're either thinking it's out or they're... They're still in doubt about it. So here we go. more I'm promoting this for you.

Speaker: There's your 125. Go ahead and talk about it. So we're... I'm in another show, ladies and gentlemen. November 6th is the... uh is the uh opening reception feel free to come by i will have two of my prints up for sale. ah Both are 125.

Speaker: He's out? He's out. Alright, have some thoughts about that. but not down Yeah, I know. i know thing We can talk about it later. hey Hold on real quick. AP, what are you saying? Go ahead. It looks like they're going to the bottom of the night. So but yeah got any which meic down let check it so he's out.

Speaker: Yeah, they got him in the second part of the tag, which is very... Which is impressive, so. yeah and Yeah, everybody's walking back to the dugout. He's out. He's out. It's all right. we're ah we We got the bottom of the race. can warrior year We're going to get free baseball.

Speaker: This might be the only baseball we get for a long time after today. Hey, man. Let's not discount overseas baseball. We got college baseball still. We got college baseball. College baseball, overseas baseball, you know. Yeah. The Asian League's going on. So, you know, we're not. We just got to work a little harder. The Arizona Fall League is still going for those that are interested in that.

Speaker: The secret of what? or the secret of nim yeah that's what it is yes i yeah That is... that that... to me is the most underrated animated movie of all time.

Speaker: yeah One of two. One of two, that and Treasure of Freedom. Those three movies. I'm just going to get on my Nelson real quick. Oh boy, not again. Not again. Thank you.

Speaker: You know what? Here we go. I'm going to lean into it. I'm going to lean into it with a little rise. A little rise. you nery A little rise. A little rise. No, you know what? What I'm going to do for you, especially you, is when I have the opportunity to and I'm down at Disney. go get and get a lightsaber.

Speaker: Get get a lightsaber like hoodie, you know sort of thing like the robe and everything and i'm just gonna come on here dressed as a Jedi. You know. and do the whole show as a Jedi. Damn, Daniel. Damn, Daniel. Damn. Daniel, did you get it again with the white pants?

Speaker: They're going with Aaron Ashby over Trevor Gill. I like it. I like it too. Go with your best arm. I like it because... he's nine It's 9 -0, so he's 9 -0, so he might as well.

Speaker: You got... You got... ah ran Aranda Caminero and Hicks coming up for the Rays. That's tough. That is a tough one. All right, let's go.

Speaker: a little I would love to see a walk -off here. That'd be cool. That'd be mad that'd be great. you know The Rays got a packed house, so that should be fun. The 2 -0 count to start.

Speaker: Okay, there we go.

Speaker: around us can compact.

Speaker: It reminds me of Christian Kirk a little bit.

Speaker: Christian Kirk. Yeah, catch her. No, the catcher. Oh, Alejandro Kirk. Alejandro, no, I was thinking of Christian Kirk. Christian Kirk is a wide receiver. Alejandro Kirk is the... Catcher for the Blue Jays.

Speaker: That's who I met. My bad. Yeah, I definitely think you're thinking about Christian Kirk, who is a Used to play for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Now a place for the 49ers. Yeah, my bad. You're good. This is funny.

Speaker: Ooh, 3 -1 count. We are all entitled to senior moments on this program. Hey, no, it's all good. I just think it's funny because I'm like, wait, I know that name. that i head won play full count from fantasy okay cool Fork out.

Speaker: Four count. All right. Full count. Full count to Aranda is 0 for 3 tonight. 0 for 0 for 3.

Speaker: Sorry, I don't know why I did that. yeah Um...

Speaker: Foul ball. Oh, boy.

Speaker: Ain't got a piece of it. Ooh, yeah, that was a cricket swing right there.

Speaker: And that's a called strike three. Whoa, Call of Strike 3. Damn, what was that? grandda Aranda down on strikes. Here comes Cameron. Was it a two -scene movie?

Speaker: F. that f Oh, wow. What a placement, too. Jeez. Oof.

Speaker: Mmm! 98, 98. 98 .9 miles per hour sinker. <unk> Yeah, it was a sick day. I was going to say, that's a toothache. 98 per hour, two steamer, Jesus.

Speaker: What do you do with that? Cameron Arrow taking a called strike.

Speaker: I'm not going to talk to him.

Speaker: Wow Yeah, that's tough. That is tough.

Speaker: but We got common era up now Yep, 1 -1 count. Yep, get a hairball for a ball. Clyde Kerbal One for three tonight, Carmen Nero. Yeah, all the challenges are they gonna saves the strike oh Oh, wow. Just got it. Just got it. Strike.

Speaker: Coming year, I was hitting three for 13 in this series. 0 -2 then. Ooh, top of the zone too. Mmm. Sorry, I'm a little behind. That could have could have gone wrong in many ways. well And Kevin, you're out.

Speaker: Caminero grounds out. so Oh, okay. All right. Well, well. We're good. We got Hicks coming up. Uh... Yeah. If he doesn't get... if He gets on, you got DeLuca and Simpson behind him.

Speaker: Who's up in the 10th for the Brewers? Uh... See? Ooh. Who do we got? Uh, Wells is warming up in the bullpen right now.

Speaker: Right, no, I mean... Um... Hamels are innerwise. Hamilton, Ortiz, and Jackson Churrio. Ooh. Oh, God. I bet. Sorry, yeah.

Speaker: That's going to be interesting.

Speaker: And Higgs grounds it to second. and we're going to extras boys Free Baseball! All right. I'll take it. Well, Tampa Bay trying to stay alive.

Speaker: Keep this series alive. Again, Tampa Bay down to their... uh last chance here down three nothing in the series So we will go to extra innings and see what we have here in.

Speaker: in the, in do they still call it the trop? and ta Yes, they still call it the drop. sorry Yes, they serve. They will call it. It's Ortiz, DiCaprio, Venturio, then Bowers.

Speaker: They still call it the Trop. It'll still be called the Trop when I'm down in Tampa in November. But what is it officially, though? Bye. I think it's the drop.

Speaker: i think it is tropical field i haven't known it as any other name

Speaker: I wonder what they're going to call the new stadium. Is it going to be like Tropicana 2 .0? No, I got some, like, wild corporate, like, crypto name, you know. Because ours just went from Globe Life Park to Globe Life Field.

Speaker: It's going to be the calcium prediction market field. Oh yeah, yeah. it Is it? No, I mean, probably. Sponsored sponsor by Jaden. Sponsored by JP Morgan Chase.

Speaker: I thought you were going to say sponsored by Jay -Z. It could be sponsored by Jay -Z. I don't know how to feel. I don't know how to feel about him doing the the Super Bowl. I mean... In college, I loved listening to Jay -Z.

Speaker: You know, I had the underground ah and underground albums, the mashups with the Beatles, White Album. And the mix with the blackout. I heard. the idea I heard something hilarious today. there's a Obviously, it's a young kid who doesn't know much. of the olden days like we do.

Speaker: He's like, literally Jay -Z only has three hit records and two of them are Beyonce. I'm like, wow. Wow. I mean, he's right. He's right. That is right not true at all, bro. These reasonable doubts.

Speaker: is one of the best albums of all time. Yes. 100%. Yes, 100%. JC was like a middle and... That's crazy.

Speaker: That's crazy, bro. Jay -Z is a legend. It was okay. It was okay. He was a good businessman. I will not allow that. As a businessman, you can't argue with his acumen, but like as a rapper...

Speaker: Okay. As a rapper, he was fabulous. I don't react i don't i' da i don't know. i'm not I'm not with you. He was on that same level with us. He was something that like Nas was, they were both 1A and 1B.

Speaker: I mean, he's at least top 10. Wow, whoa, Moe just coming out with him with them hot takes. All right, cool. He is at least a top hip -hop artist of all time, if not top 20. He collabed with Biggie.

Speaker: Every time. Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa. You're not putting up with Biggie. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. No, no, you know there no, mistake no. i' stay I'm saying he collabed with Biggie. I'm saying he collabed with Biggie. Yeah, but he's not up there with Biggie. He might be a level. He might be the level below Big E, but he's up there.

Speaker: He's up there. He's like 20. He's definitely 20. Okay. I mean, he's in top 20 for sure. There's no doubt. he's i would say I would say top 10 at least.

Speaker: he might be By the way way, Tyler Wells is pitching right now here in the top of the 10. Yeah, give us an update, what we got. 0 -2 count to Ortiz. Now, Tyler Wells has had five innings pitched. Giving up six hits and five runs, not a good postseason thus far. And Ortiz's OPS is 211. So it's right above the Mendoza line.

Speaker: He's like batting 105 for the postseason, which is not good, I guess. like i think i' bated I think I've got a higher batting average than he has at this point. You have an OPS below the Mendoza line. You're in trouble.

Speaker: Cam Boozer is warming up. So... Filed off. Still an 0 -2 count But yeah, Jay is right up there for me. I will say this on a tangential note with music in general. i saw an article that i think it was out of rolling stone that said that is 2026, the most AI music.

Speaker: Like... you know, isn't the most AI music year. um that we have had. and In the terms of AI music being produced? In general, yeah. like yeah more There's more AI, there's more... Yeah, it's going to continue to happen.

Speaker: Right. But I think what they were trying to say is a lot of people are still... cool with you know actual artists compared to ai generated art yeah sure Sure.

Speaker: But, it's gonna keep happening and now you have ai artists who are on top of charts now stuff. Yeah. What we got? What's the update here gentlemen? we one off fast round it off again I don't know. One and two. yeah okay i guess yeah ap's got the since he's only working with like numbers flickering and probably is transmitting faster Yeah.

Speaker: But yeah, it's kinda crazy. Yeah, there's a lot of Brewers fans that made the trip down down to Tampa Bay because the the tickets are like wildly cheap down there like i know the brewers For Miller Park, whatever they're calling it now. Ortiz flies out to left.

Speaker: Okay, yeah. Yeah. got under that but yeah like the the tickets in milwaukee were insane like i think it was like so like they were high enough for like you could fly to Tampa fly back and Probably get a hotel and get a ticket to the game. It might...

Speaker: might at worst break even with the price for a ticket over in Milwaukee.

Speaker: say But yeah, shout out to all the Brewers fans that are... they're out in tampa support my team well i mean that's it's also because if you looked at the prices the price yeah that's what i'm saying yeah yeah like you can fly there fly back Yeah.

Speaker: Get a hotel, get a ticket, you know. For the same o just why the same amount. Yeah. It's crazy. Yeah. I got well... One out? Okay, jack to cheio up Jackson Jackson Cheerios at the dish. One for four day.

Speaker: Only one hit but two strikeouts. Now, he is hitting .500 over the World Series, 9 for 18. Oh, damn. He's on fire. Ooh, ooh, ooh. Fire!

Speaker: Fireball. Fine. It just... It just sort of happened. Fouled off one and two.

Speaker: Gotcha.

Speaker: He's going to call a timeout here. Hmm.

Speaker: But, For those wondering, it um My next exhibit's probably not going to be until January. And then I'll probably take it. Yeah, I know.

Speaker: Yeah, they've got a holiday market. I'm not in the holiday market. Yeah. Cheerio lines up in the center field, so it's two out now. Here comes Jake Bowers. Jake Bowers coming up.

Speaker: The due date for the holiday market was the 12th of September. I couldn't get myself together in time for that. Mmm. Spanned early. Yeah. It's a wee bit early.

Speaker: Yeah. I was over for tonight. Not bad. Three fly outs? Geez. Three fly outs and a ground out. Damn, that's rough.

Speaker: Takes ball one here. Start this at bat. Huh?

Speaker: Let's see what happens. No. Pitch call the ball razor challenging it right now

Speaker: Everyone's got both their challenges. Mm -hmm. It's close. do Do you get a challenge back in extra innings, or do you just have the same two challenges?

Speaker: i think it's and i think it's just the same two challenges Okay, gotcha. Wow, dang, that's a... Yeah. You know, that's what the bad thing is. Oof.

Speaker: Oh, down based on one. Not a one challenge yet, so.

Speaker: 2 -0 count. Are you going to challenge that when it was like three feet above the plate? That's funny. Third pitch right down the mid changeup right down the middle gave him a gift. He just Looked at it, called strike. My God. oh Yeah.

Speaker: You hear that? No, because the last batter like let the corkscrew... breaking ball down the middle, just let it go by for a strike. so Now he swings.

Speaker: You think the Brewers are playing too so cautious? You think they're playing too safe? kindness i think like I think part of it is, like again, the occasion. because This is a very young team, to be honest. so yeah Yeah, that's true. like i mean so yeah and like It's a very not -as -experienced manager, too. Full count.

Speaker: book count yeah so like i mean they're probably definitely feeling the occasion Yeah. think Because they're like, it's like... suddenly caught up to them like, oh, snap, uh...

Speaker: this is ah This is game four of the World Series, so... I'm thinking you're seeing that a little bit with the with the team. so the the nerves and The nerves and the anxiety get to him. Yeah, yeah. It's like like they're like, oh.

Speaker: like it's caught up to them like oh this is real

Speaker: the ball sky high looks like It's gonna... Ooh, got under it. And who knows where that ball is? just um'm I'm behind. Oh, he dropped it. Oh, he lost it. It dropped.

Speaker: No way. they lost it yeah lost it in the roof The roof comes back to haunt him. That loose man with the catwalk and shit. Yeah, can we... ah Can we talk about that for a second? Who did who are whoever authorized that the roof should be white.

Speaker: I happen to agree with Whoever said that, like... it's That's a strikeout. That's a strikeout. We go to the bottom. We go to the bottom of the table. Is it really? Yeah, Jake Bowers strikes out.

Speaker: Like, that's just criminal. you know yeah and the catwalks i don't like the catwalks too being in play that's crazy We're not playing yeah playing baseball, not pinball. Right. Yep. For the Rays coming up, Johnny DeLuca, Chandler Simpson, and Victor Mesa Jr.

Speaker: Are. on deck. for this inning.

Speaker: Nice.

Speaker: This has been an... I don't... I don't want to hear people say that just because this is a sweep, this wasn't an entertaining World Series. because all No, it was an entertaining World Series. Take away game three, this was an entertaining World Series. Oh yeah.

Speaker: and And those that are saying that it wasn't, since the audience number for game one was, ah what is it? ah ten point Game was $10 .85 million.

Speaker: 10 uh game one was 12 .26 million viewers on fox So like that was on par with... the when the la dodgers we're We're drawing fans. like last year.

Speaker: Yeah. And again, it's been an entertainment. These are two teams with very dedicated fan bases, which may not... get the credit they deserve being like a not as big market but i wouldn't say small market you know audience, so Yeah.

Speaker: And you arguably have the two best managers in the league right now going at it with Pat Murphy. in Yeah, Kevin cash yeah so Again, they're doing a lot with... They're doing a lot with maybe not...

Speaker: the most, if you will. and That's been to Kevin Cash's M .O. since he got to Tampa. yeah because like yeah once once hard man went to chiat once john men went to joe menn went to chicago chicago Kevin Cash just kept that organization as like a well -oiled machine.

Speaker: Yeah, cause like it's hard. Like, imagine, you have, like... you have no ease like you're in division there are very few easy games except when the orioles come to town So, you know, you' were yeah you're grinding every day, every every time, you know.

Speaker: Trying to try to keep the team afloat. And it's not always pretty, at don't obviously. But like he's done... He's kept the race competitive. Yeah. I mean, you go back to Go back to 2023. They won over 100 games. Yeah, they got swept out by my Texas Rangers, but...

Speaker: they still won over 100 games and in in that season so they were really easy That's a hard division to do that in. like yeah i would not want Yeah, I would not want to try to try to figure that out, you know? but against, again, the Yankees and Red Sox. big money teams, Jays were juggernaut. Like, yeah.

Speaker: Yep. Ashby stays on the mound. Got a 1 -1 count right now. Oh wow, oh wow, you were way, way ahead. Yeah, you are far... Yeah, I just, yeah. Well, again, you're watching numbers flicker, I guess. so that's probably Yeah.

Speaker: Wait, I'm I'm not even, I'm like we're bottom of the 10th, 1 -0. That's where I am. I just i just got the ah the the breaking ball in the dirt for strike one.

Speaker: Or bald ones. are Yeah, same hair. Yeah, same hair. That's what I got. Let's ground out the first. Yep. so There's a ground at the first word don't we got one out in the bottom Bottom of the 10th.

Speaker: No good here Simpson. He's been there. He's been there man tonight two for three Two for three, a double, an RBI. Did get caught stealing the last time he was up though Yeah. Damn, look at the ball pads. That is...

Speaker: Oof. It's amazing.

Speaker: What's your favorite baseball movie? Ooh. Ooh.

Speaker: Omar? Hmm. You're muted by the way, Omar. No wonder we haven't heard him. Been a while. We've we've been carrying this. I haven't been saying anything. I've just been listening to you all.

Speaker: um Because I'm still behind. it ah we've been We've been carrying this. that we're we we're just ki Our backs are hurting from the fact that we are carrying your show, sir. ah Let's see, my favorite baseball movie.

Speaker: would probably have to be... o That's very, very tough. But I would say a league of their own. I really love that movie.

Speaker: It's hilarious. And... It's about women's baseball, if no one knows. but it's a Hilarious movie, star -studded cast. I think I'll go with that. and No crying. That's it. well That's in my top three. You're still crying in baseball?

Speaker: that's That's in my top three. I can watch that movie anytime. Two, two, two. Two and two. count here. Okay, gotcha. trying to think what other i will I will go with the Sandlot. I will go with the Sandlot. I was thinking of the Sandlot. That's definitely up there.

Speaker: Definitely up there. And then 42 is by a second. say three I remember that one. Of all time. Another foul. Chadwick Boseman. The relief... Wait, what?

Speaker: Oh, Jackie Robinson movie Yeah. Yeah. I actually have not seen that. I like The Rookie a lot. I like The Rookie a lot. Oh, yeah. I remember that. The Dennis Quaid one, yeah. Yeah.

Speaker: Top five. Um... No, I would probably still have above that. Angels in the outfield. Um... Sips the grounds out to Ashby.

Speaker: The Little Big League. was a good one. Um... Let's see Obviously, I mean the classics.

Speaker: ah you know, Bull Durham. It's a classic of your dreams. Fulgurum's a favorite. Bad news, Bears. Bad news bears. Classic top 10 for sure.

Speaker: nine two oh four We appreciate you tuning in, sir. And everybody out there, make sure you hit that like button. But yes, natural, illegal or owned, my favorite. Bad news bears. Definitely.

Speaker: i I remember watching it. I got the video. I remember borrowing it from the library. I'm like, wow. This blows. All right, so look, I'm going to give you all the top 10 baseball movies.

Speaker: based on a consensus across all the a major league baseball site rankings. So. Number one. Bull Durham. Number two, yeah ah a league of their own.

Speaker: No Mr. Baseball included in that? Not in the top 10 of the ranking consensus rankings. Oh, that's fair. Yes. All right, we're going to the 11th. We're going to eat a lemon. Mesa strikes out.

Speaker: So we're go we go to 11, boys. Now... When you look at... We wear hats and sleeves at this level, son. When you look at Rotten Tomatoes,

Speaker: They actually have one above. Bull Durham with 100%. Now I've never heard of this movie. It's called EFITS. EFES? Yes.

Speaker: And it has... And it was 100 % rated by the critics. Which is very weird. It is an imminent... imminent construction project looms over their beloved small town baseball field a pair of new england sunday league teams face off for the last time over the course of the day.

Speaker: Tensions flare up, ceremonials. laughs are shared. as the era of camaraderie and escapism. fades into an uncertain future. Okay, hell wow no. Wow. Yo, don't make some leaves in the cell. I'm not taking that. That's wild, dude. like having space I don't think I'll watch that. is I don't think I'll watch that. I will not.

Speaker: that Just the description doesn't sound good. It doesn't even know. I'm not accepting that. Again. as Again. bill spaceman lee you know um all as you should probably know is in his movies yes that's Sid. Yeah, okay, that's great. but there's so many other baseball movies you can watch.

Speaker: There's so many others. Like, I'm sorry. You, you run off. ten i like I would so say, I watched major league two before that. Yeah, I would watch Summer Cash. Do you remember the Angels in the Enfield movie? Angels in the Enfield was great. Angels in the Enfield was great. I love that. Do you remember the Angels in the Enfield follow -up movie? Even though it was about the Angels, it was still a really good movie. I loved it.

Speaker: no the ink do you remember the angels in the infield movie the follow -up was like a disney made for tv movie yeah I mean, I don't remember the infield. i' remember the No, they made, so there's a follow of Angels in the infield. They updated it for like the current era, at the time, current era of like with SportsCenter and stuff. It is, okay um it was a choice.

Speaker: For them, Jim. Hmm? Doesn't sound like the one I would make, but it sounds like it. I mean, hey. it just I wouldn't have made that choice. I mean i would have left it alone with the first one. But I would have watched i would've watched i would've watched Summer Catch over Ephus, 100%. Wow!

Speaker: Wow. number Yeah. yeah yeah Yes. I'm going to go there. I'm going to go there. I'm there. i go go there I love summer catch, and that was with Fred. Oh, wow. With Freddie Prinze Jr., a little romantic. uh mlb baseball or whatever listen listen i mean you know It was definitely more a rom -com.

Speaker: than baseball for sure but yeah just exciting the movie searching for bobby fisher was about baseball because the dead was a baseball writerer but Ah.

Speaker: Well, you must have loved the gambit then, John, if you... uh you know we're quoting bobby fisher are we back we got we got we got yeah and terrain coming up for the brewers somebody hit a home run i'll combine oh for nine with three walks Wow. Somebody hit a home run. somebody hit Somebody hit a double. That's all I'll ask for. Someone hit a double.

Speaker: Not even a single, I'm telling you. We've been on here for two and a half hours and I got to get off soon because I still got to pack. for my trip home this weekend. Village pops out the third. So ease out.

Speaker: This stream has about... ah That's about a few more minutes on it before I'm going to have to depart. Y 'all can stay on. Uh, yes. judge Oh, Aitman out. Yes, Aitman out. yeah The White Sox -Jewish -Joe Jackson scandal. Yes, Charles.

Speaker: You are correct about that, sir. Charles and Charles is in charge. That is a classic. Charles in charge. Of my days.

Speaker: And my knife. time Charles in charge of my wrongs and my rights. Oh, dang.

Speaker: All right, copyright. No one else can remember that theme song. You realize that. See, I know i done that theme song by heart, but I was well willing to let Omar just keep going because I've known him a long time. I don't want to get a copyright charge. I don't need ah i don't need a...

Speaker: i don't need it because the owners of that song are a still alive and b we'll sue And she's never watching this show anyway, so it doesn't really matter. I do wonder. on bad show beaver pitch Fever pitch never happened.

Speaker: Wait why? Fever pitch never happened? Excuse me? Wait, why did it never happen? It's big there yeah that it fake fake fake news. Oh, it's fake news? Alright. It's fake news? Okay.

Speaker: Ray's challenge, that last pitch, is a one -two. Oh, Omar, in a complete non -sequitur, you had mentioned something earlier about no politics, right? I was reading something a while back about how no matter what you're doing, no whether it's movies or music or you're just talking about sports or whatever, inevitably politics.

Speaker: enters into the conversation at some level. So it's hard to it's hard to get out of that. Contreras flies out to left. So now it's the right time. Terrain coming up.

Speaker: QQ! Did we have a challenge? Or, oh, that was, I'm behind. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It was for a strike in. It was a ball turned into a strike. And then, okay yeah for sure, it just flied out to left. and we're having a pitching change so wells gonna get the ceremony of butt pat and uh All right, y 'all keep it going for a second. I'll be right back.

Speaker: At the very least, go until this happens and he's done.

Speaker: Damn, Peyton Manning would do anything, huh?

Speaker: I don't know if you're getting the same commercials as I am them all, but, uh... I am. Peyton Manning can do anything. Peyton Manning. Peyton Manning trying to get get paid. Eww.

Speaker: I mean, more than ownership stuck in the cult. Omaha. Omaha. Omaha Productions Yeah. Kim Boozer. Cam Boozer is going to be coming out to pitch here.

Speaker: Boom. Yeah, because he was warming up earlier. Yep, yep. He's probably going to go, man. They're going lefty. Oof.

Speaker: Yeah, they're going to go down to the wire with this game e It's gonna be insane

Speaker: Yeah, I mean, you know you've got to credit them The Rays were, like, you know... written through you know some of the these series They just won't die. They just won't die. Yummy! Yeah, I mean, especially in that division, you cannot, you gotta be...

Speaker: Real resilient.

Speaker: You're determined to take this down to the... Yeah, you're not gonna, yeah, yeah, I mean... No, I mean, I appreciate the no surrender attitude.

Speaker: At the very least they're keeping it interesting. They are. They're keeping it. Yeah. Because, again, like people thought like they would just roll over for for game four, right? Mm hmm. Yeah, so Shouts to them for being like, let's let's at least you know put it in a good effort and see what happens. so

Speaker: So fun fact, just saw this come across. ah yeah aaron Aaron Ashby has picked 16 and two thirds. scoreless innings which is the most by a reliever.

Speaker: and post to open a postseason in Major League history. Dang, that's incredible. That's that's that's the jenings that's wild. Notre Dame versus Villanova. tip off for college basketball.

Speaker: That's nice. Yeah, I know Yeah, that was a great stat anything Very good stat. So Terrain takes ball one on the first pitch back. Ooh, inside. Ooh.

Speaker: Keep him keep him honest.

Speaker: Cam Boozer in this postseason six innings pitch. Five hits, four earned runs. So, again, these relievers that they're bringing in here in this late innings have not been the greatest this – this round of the pat again yeah i inside again again Razor challenging it.

Speaker: Ooh! Ball challenge, but you can't take them with you, so... That's a good point. Use them while you got them. i mean how would down I mean, that pitch was not the one I would have used, but, you know, whatever. Sure, sure, of course. Yeah. I mean, I still haven't seen it. I'm still behind. But.

Speaker: Yes. I've agreed.

Speaker: Oh, yeah, yeah. You can't challenge that. I just saw it. yeah it's Oh, okay. Yo, wow. Boozer does not have it right now. did he get Did he get punked?

Speaker: He got very close to getting them, but no I think it's a 3 -0. It's 3 -0, but it's saying on -field delay right now. Oh, there's a giant dirt clod right there. Yeah.

Speaker: a tuling They're having problems with that earlier in the game with the... with the pictures man so Mmm. makes sense i still I still got my um my headset plugged in, but I'll be right back.

Speaker: Alright. So I can still chat.

Speaker: But hey, the only thing I can say is at least on a long three hour stream, you get lots of views and watch time on YouTube. So they were adding to those metrics. As long as that's helping with you.

Speaker: They're doing some light groundskeeping right there Some light groundskeeping was not on my bingo card for commentary. No. like i Yeah, you know... they just The mound is ah it's like a giant divot on the mound right now. They're trying to...

Speaker: Trying to pass right here. Feng, ah Mr. Feng, what do you see? with A nickname like saying I would assume you'd like to sip on some whiskey. Or some bourbon. Is that what we're drinking? It's pretty simple. ah I just have a regular Jim Beam, you know the regular white label stuff. Okay. oh Right now, sir, nothing special.

Speaker: All right. I'm a whiskey bourbon drinker myself, sir. so Thank you for... joy yeah i mean sometimes i like i'm like you i just didn't have it on hand right now of the other stuff. so But yeah, I appreciate a nice...

Speaker: a nice brown liquor There you go. Charles says, Red Sox clinching the ALCS at Yankee Stadium was awesome. And also sweeping the Cardinals, winning eight games in a row.

Speaker: And yes, we talked about this earlier, Charles. Yes, exactly. You are correct. They are actually tied, we were saying earlier. with The 2005 White Sox, the 2000...

Speaker: 15 Royals and the 2019 Nationals. All four teams. uh hold the record right now for eight consecutive victories which the brewers could break tonight with their ninth.

Speaker: consecutive victories. There is three there is there a there's a lot of slow -mo footage of a giant dirt clod. Yeah, yeah. There is a lot of footage of, like, you if y 'all have ever watched the preface.

Speaker: If y 'all have ever watched The Freakness. That's what this reminds me of. that's great They're just trying to dig the dirt out. That's all they're trying to do. What is that? i think what i think a free What is that? Oh, that was a cloud of dirt. I thought it was like a metal piece. I was like, why is... No, it's like a giant... Train's on with the walk, so... No, no, Booster doesn't have it today. I don't think he's got... he's's ah He's been inside all four pitches. He's been boozing.

Speaker: He's been booted. That's what I was going to say. Ironic because he's... Facing the Brewers, so you know. Oh, yes. Very ironic. Good point. I like that. well done Well, yes. Pratt on deck right now. yeah oh don' get maybey get Freddy Peralta.

Speaker: You need three batters right before you make a pitching change. Yes, you have to go through three batters. That is correct. Yeah, I don't know. Boozer, oh, he just well he got we got oh you got one over, but man, oof.

Speaker: He's scuffling right now. Maybe he'll settle down a little bit. He's probably a little amped up, but oof. He's inside on most of the guys right now. Yes, it is.

Speaker: Call strike just on the edge. One for four, single on the fourth. You got the other one over. You got one over. Okay, well, he's discovered the other side of the plate, which is a good good sign. And I think it was Charles who mentioned the Red Sox earlier. I saw something about how 22 years ago the Sox won the World Series.

Speaker: You know? This time twenty ah today, 22 years ago, so... That's one of Amel's many index funds. and If you want to learn more about his investment advice, hit him up at am23photography .com.

Speaker: No, I don't do that there. I do it on my personal. Well, it looks like we're back to the Dirk Clods, boys. Oh, yeah. another fixed dirt Somebody fix the dirt.

Speaker: Yo fan, come on, this is a big league ballpark. You can't just have like... yeah what do you What do you think they're getting a news a new one? please like i big Come on, dude. like Oh, it's a PitchCon. It's a PitchCon mission.

Speaker: A Pitchcom issue. Before we... yeah before Because where this game is going to end at some point. Off season coming up. um yes so what are we looking at gentlemen i want your opinion how long will this lockout last And will there be a salary cap when we come back?

Speaker: Feng, because we've never heard from you on this topic, would you go first for us? Oof. So, as for how long the lockout lasts... Oh, that's a tough call Ugh. I don't think it's going to last the whole season. I don't think we're going to go 2027 without baseball. but Okay, wow.

Speaker: there's go Because, again... players got Players gotta make the money, the owners gotta make money too, so... after after a certain point you know don't mess with the bag so you gotta they gotta figure out a solution at some point so they're gonna It's going to be a shortened season, but they might. But but they're going to play. Ask for a salary cap.

Speaker: That's a tough call, too, because, again... Because we've got to think about it. Let's all be honest here. Is that, like, only... Like ah the top echelons are really touching.

Speaker: Like the we would be touched by the salary cap. It's not Right. yeah as severe as he's the mets the padres things like that yeah but things are like player wise though like the player population it's not like as it's not the same as in like Football or basketball, I don't understand hockey as much, so there may that may or may not touch hockey. but um But football and basketball, where there are a lot more players.

Speaker: Which do touch. who do creep up to the upper echelons they wanted to go hit and run there Try to go hit and run. Yeah, that was a wild choice, so yeah. well um So as for a salary cap,

Speaker: I don't!

Speaker: I don't know if they're going to get that through. I mean, as much as like some of the... smaller market teams quote -unquote want to implement that I don't I don't think it's going to go through. I don't think it's...

Speaker: Freelix strikes out. Free League strikes out. Yeah, and so we're getting more free baseball. So yeah, I don't think it's... I don't think a salary cap will be implemented. um Because, again, like, of of the disparity.

Speaker: um, in the disparity in the league in terms of being paid because like not everyone's getting paid like Quonset or... Shohei or Tani or whatever, so. right I don't think it's going to be happening. And also, to be honest, the union...

Speaker: is going to have a say as well here too and i don't think they want a salary salary cap. You know, granted, no vast majority of their members do not earn enough to even think about that issue, but...

Speaker: I don't think that's going to happen. Especially if you want... Yeah, so I don't i don't think it's going to happen. I don't know what other concessions... they're going to try to make in terms of like trying to Trying to make things a little bit easier quote unquote for the owners Um...

Speaker: Because, I don't know, again, and honestly, I've little sympathy for these billionaires who are crying poverty. Um... So, yeah, I'm not sure where what else is on the bargaining table in terms of giving...

Speaker: ah in terms of give, in terms of labor. or labor debate, but I Yeah, I don't know. So I can't. um And yeah, honestly, at the end of the day,

Speaker: People got to get paid so there's gonna have to be guys on the ballot. One, two, three, four. all right Shut up, Rock Chalk! My friend.

Speaker: Rock Chalk True Crime, the best true crime podcast on YouTube. Y 'all check it out at Rock Chalk Love. Louder. uh seems like she's been doing a lot more than loving lately though my My friend, seems like you've been getting into a little bit of... some some fisticuffs with some other content creators.

Speaker: You know I got your back. No, I got Joe back. I don't know what happened. I don't know who the other ones are. But I got Joe back. is heavy like the crown that I must wear on my head. as the case uh so thank you you you do not have a crowd on your head you do not have a crowd on your head oh don't get i guess don't get my ideas right Yeah, don't give him my ideas. don Imagine he shows up

Speaker: Imagine he shows up at the next podcast with a gold ass crown. will have know well He will. He will. Like he does on the cover of his album, you know. He will. John, he's going to have all four of us on to talk about entertainment because there'll be a lockout and he'll just have a crown on his head the whole time. That's yeah what Omar is going to do. It is a little man.

Speaker: Yeah. And like a real crowd, not like the one you get at Burger King. Ashby's still out there. they're throw They're keeping Ashby out there. Okay. This is his third straight inning. I like that. That's a choice. That's a choice. I like it. but I like it. I like it too. But I want to make sure you that he's actually throwing good pitches and not throwing gas. Or not throwing... you know,

Speaker: he's not hitting off if he's not throwing off the mark yeah Got a 1 -1 count right now. Oh, yep, yep. low Love louder and and... give you some rap beef louder too. one was One and two. Got a on a swinging strike here. Oh, oh wow. there Oh, there. Let's see how the swing goes. I was dying so much.

Speaker: oh he got oh he got caught chasing man come on man ki i was like i don't know what they did but it is something. Mmm.

Speaker: At least get good somebody on base. Now, yeah, he's looking like he might be getting a little tired now. He's got 28 pitches now. Going into the third inning of his ah ah appearance here.

Speaker: Oh, placida. I feel Scott. Got a hold of that one. That one's filed off.

Speaker: oo oh Okay, alright. Just got a piece of that. couple up Couple people up in the Milwaukee Brewers bullpen. And Placido strikes out.

Speaker: no That was a ball down. He went he went and dug for it. and missed. Well, he's trying to end the game right there, that's why. Oof. Ooh, man.

Speaker: That was a big. He was trying to get that home run. That was a big cut. Yeah. Oof. You got Taylor Wells coming up and then Yandy Diaz.

Speaker: The follow up.

Speaker: Yeah, so, like, what are the other, like... points of the like the labor dispute that's going to be happening. So they're also talking about eliminating minor league teams?

Speaker: They're talking about eliminating the age. ah requirement to join. ah ah Baseball. um what' What's the age, what's the age thing?

Speaker: They have to be in college for two years, I believe. To join the to join a joint To be drafted. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. that i think you're trying mean I think they're trying to get rid of it now, I believe. that' what the I don't think they have that. Looks like they're going pitching change. Ashby's going going back to the dugout.

Speaker: Yeah, he was... Yeah, I think so. That's probably down. No, they definitely do. They have to go to college for at least – it might be at least one year. I'm not sure. Oh, really? like one us We're not just drafting high schoolers anymore? They're not allowed to. They won't be drafting high schoolers. There's like a different rule for like international players now.

Speaker: Or there will be. So we're not exploiting Dominican like teenagers anymore? I mean, we still are, technically. We still are, technically. And then this is all being hidden within the, oh, salary cap. That's the main focus.

Speaker: But this is all my like hidden stuff. Because there's definitely got to be other things on like the margin where we can... like where there's like debates and they can work things out. but But I do, I mean, I do appreciate the two year.

Speaker: I mean... Basketball's made a mockery of the, the like, you've got to be in college for one year. Antonio Sensantia. is coming up to pitch. Okay. and Sophia.

Speaker: Yeah, but like, I think it's probably, I think especially for baseball, because like the development timeline. It can be very long, especially if you're like a raw 18 -year -old kid out of college or one or or um high school. so um I think there should be some protections, at least, for those guys. to So like maybe don't draft a teenager?

Speaker: Um... for for your for your for the team for for your team, so... um I mean, the Nats did that. the nats did that with their i mean they drafted what second baseman that shortstop But like, rocketed through their system.

Speaker: I think yeah, so I mean again it it Like, it does work out. He's only 17, 18 years old. it It does work out from time to time. However common, it does not work out. I just i just saw the video of like ah the clump of dirt. that they were that y 'all recall yeah it was like this giant like like dinner like this dinner plate so like a dinner plate a dinner plate of dirt yeah Yeah, I'm like, damn.

Speaker: Damn, you might want to fix that. You might want to call somebody and be like, hey... we need to loosen this We need to loosen this dirt up a little bit. Yeah, I don't know what clay brand you use, but we we should... probably reconsider at this point.

Speaker: Yeah. so i'm looking at this article some other things in the mlb lockout Season length. MLB is proposing a 154 -game season, so taking eight games off the season.

Speaker: uh, amount of games. Um... they all MLBPA, the Players Association, has proposed expanding. The rosters by two players in the early weeks of the season for to prevent injury.

Speaker: MLB has proposed changes to the offseason calendar. which will include a two to three week period of free agency. And then a free agent freeze. Censored on January. Looks like Wallace is squaring up to bunt. I don't know what you guys are seeing, but it looks like he's squaring up to bunt. I did see that. I saw that. I mean...

Speaker: Yeah, he's trying to drag bond is a is he is he good at bunting? Is he fast? We have no idea. You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying? You better be super sure. that you're going to get today at first base. To give out one out in the 11th inning. Yes.

Speaker: Yes, because otherwise you're going to be it's going to be a wasted at -bat. No, otherwise he'd be cut tomorrow. He wouldn't even make it to game six. Isn't it hard to be cut if the season's locked out? If the season's over, yeah. So, with respect to the free agency thing, it seems like they're trying to do, like, a transfer window, essentially.

Speaker: essentially yeah Something like that. And that's... like the Like teams can only be with Certain teams, for certain they can only sign for a certain amount of years or something like that. but also that they there's free agent windows like in college football like you'll only be able like there'll be a freeze in january where you won't be able to sign any free agents and then they'll reop that's i don't And has called out on strikes.

Speaker: Ooh! We'll see. Strike that strike. Now this I like. and MLB is proposing two major playoff proposals, the expansion of the ALDS.

Speaker: And NLDS from... ah five to seven games, which I've been calling for for a while now. um But this is country. Yes, go ahead I don't mind that, but it gets to the point where like you have the NBA playoffs, which are...

Speaker: very, very long. so Look, I love sports. I'll take any more sports you want to give me. Why don't we just keep the season 162? I don't know. just saying how about this one though they they want to uh they're gonna try this where there's the ability for higher seeds to choose their opponents in the wild card and LDS. So they can actually pick who they want to play.

Speaker: Yeah, that's a gimmicky... like there There's going to be a show. Undoubtedly, there's going to be, like... a lebron the choice like the the choice yes show for this really like pick the opponent so which is again gonna be cheesy as all hell and i'm not gonna lie but you know we're gonna be doing this brewers made a challenge on a ball call and missed it so they lost the challenge Okay, alright.

Speaker: Cool. Inside, okay.

Speaker: And then, yeah, on the draft. and MLB has proposed cutting the draft from 20 rounds to 12 rounds. and preventing high schoolers from entering the draft. Hmm. American high schoolers.

Speaker: Yes. Maybe. Yes. But everyone answers aloud. They'll still exploit the Latin American countries as much as they can. Oh, yeah, yeah. Think of the mine, you know, that that town pole.

Speaker: Yeah, I mean I don't... I don't know. i I think we talked about this earlier in the season, Fang, and i i think we all agreed that we all thought and now it's been six months since we've said this But when we talked about it, we were all under the thinking that we might lose all of 2027.

Speaker: Yeah, I mean, there's a but like one count to d is right now three but okay i I think at some point, like, you at some point... Wow, that's a beard cut. um you you gotta to like people gotta make money right like at some point you know they How long are you going to be cutting your nose off to spite your face? All right, we got a base runner, folks. Diaz walks, so we got a base runner at the very least.

Speaker: Here we go. please The winning run is on first. We got Aranda ca and Caminero coming up. So, I mean, we'll see how desperate people get with a lockout in terms of like...

Speaker: how long they're willing to like just not get money and generate revenue for themselves Um... Because I think at some point, you know... They got a blink. ah Both sides are gonna have to blink.

Speaker: um and They're going to have a negotiating table. and cash it out, because... you know If these owners are as broke as they sound, you know they're going to need they're gonna need them to get paid. so right but john can they the reason why i'm asking is so so for the last six months um when we brought this up, when it's just been, you know,

Speaker: um myself, AP, and and Omar, I basically had the contention that Hmm. Rob Manfred isn't going to play around. He's just going to say, okay, we're locked out. No negotiation until I get what I want.

Speaker: Full stop. um Yeah. so I don't know if that's... I don't know if that's a ah position of strength. Doesn't his term come to an end next year? Does it? If it does who's the next guy?

Speaker: So here's a couple things. Two things. Yeah. Oh, Manfred doesn't like baseball. I don't like... he doesn't i don't right number two he gets paid no matter whether or not there's baseball or not. He still gets money, I assume. True.

Speaker: Yeah. so The owners, again... do not get money there is no revenue mlb does not yeah There's no money generated from baseball if there's no baseball games being played.

Speaker: So, I mean... So there's going to be a point where they're going to be like that wall is going to get a little tight on them and they're going to be okay. There's gonna be a point where like someone's gonna blink.

Speaker: Honestly, it might be the players Because, again, Not everyone is... Juan Soto making like, you know, the GDP of a moderately sized European country. I did the comparison on this. Juan Soto was making, like, the equivalent of, like, grease. I think at one point.

Speaker: yeah um I mentioned earlier this year. yeah Meanwhile, I mean... bit utility guys are gonna be feeling the pain and they are all again part of the union so there's gonna be clamors for like again let's try to figure hash something out here And again, the owners, again, if you know...

Speaker: the yeah The poor, poor... you know Milwaukee Brewers owner is going to be like, oh, I have no money. and So they they're going to have to come to the table. and try to figure something out, I think at some point.

Speaker: Raw man Fred. Rob Manfred, again, I don't... I don't... Like, whatever. He... he's just he's just trying to run this like it's like a bank or something he doesn't like it's a business yeah Yeah. Hey, Charles, so MLB proposed is the one that proposed cutting the July draft and preventing for high schoolers.

Speaker: The players have sharply pushed back. on the idea. We got a stolen base. You got a stolen base, so Mateo's 180 feet away. Is that a Taco Bell thing?

Speaker: Um, oh yeah, and also, yeah, the model, yeah, the model, you can't be getting rid of the model. You can't be messing around with that. I think it's... And like, it's kind of... I honestly think it's... Don't put the draft down um Because...

Speaker: Don't you want the largest amount of talent you can choose from? as a baseball team.

Speaker: Yes. right the top yeah so yeah you want you want as many people yes yes So yeah, I mean, so yeah, yeah, you want you want as many Molly You want your Miley team system in put in place. you want We're going to the 12th.

Speaker: levels that you can so i yeah That's a... That's while that's on the table. but i But Mia, if you really want to like... You know, be like... penny wise pound foolish go right ahead and and do that sort of thing and contract the minor leagues and cut off the drafts. We're going to the 12th, gentlemen.

Speaker: To the 12th we go. All right. And rumor has it that we all are going to get like a free taco or something if we go to the 15th. Oh, really? i Oh, sir is that part of the thing? No, we won't. No, not this year. No, but it's not part of it.

Speaker: Meh, come on. I didn't mean to i didn't i didn't mean to to to overexcite you sir. i will I will leave it up to the gentlemen that have to work tomorrow, you two.

Speaker: uh we can keep going or we can get off what do y 'all want to do y 'all want to keep going I was going to keep going. okay i'm fine with that all right i don't want to hold you all hot i don't want to hold one of y 'all hostage yeah no you're good i mean i don't have i have my i own my own business i can work whenever i want so Nice. I just want to make sure that y 'all the ones that got to wake up in the morning, not me.

Speaker: Hmm. I'm good right now. I will i will be okay. Also ap is in a different time zone. So, you know, he's good no a p now

Speaker: AP goes on that anyways, so I'm not worried about it. That sounded really weird pause I'll be back I mean Yeah, usually right about now is when we're doing our... ah post -game show for Sunday Night Football. so Oh, wow, wow.

Speaker: And usually I'm... i'm ah I've gone to bed by now, but okay i'm happy yeah I'm happy to stay up for this. I'm really happy to stay up for this. Well, I mean, I would definitely go to bed for next week's Sunday Night Football recap. so We've got i and Ian Seymour stepping in for...

Speaker: Boozer now, so... Braves make another pitching change. You got Pratt, Mitchell, and Hamilton coming up for the Brewers. Pratt's three for four, as as mentioned earlier. he's Had himself a night.

Speaker: Hamilton hit the... Hamilton got the last score way back in the fifth inning, a solo home run in the fifth. yes seven k's Seven Ks for the Brewers ah tonight and four for the Rays bullpen.

Speaker: Yeah. Yeah, 2 -6 -1, 2 -5 -1, dang. This is a thiss lovely boxing match here. Yeah, it's a heavyweight. It's a heavyweight fight. By the way... By the way, this is... the Ashby's record went up to 18 -1, so he's already crushed the...

Speaker: Consecutive scoreless endings. that's That's crazy. Bang. You know what that reminds me of? I know this is going to be this is going to be a scar, I think.

Speaker: But... um I think when the Nats were playing the Giants, Was it NLDS in like 2012 or 2013? Something like that. And there was an 18 inning game. Yeah, no, no. No, yep.

Speaker: I'm still full from that. I can still feel the chill on my bones from that night. Okay, yeah, yeah, so can I. Because we were both there. I remember that. I was in a... I got clubbed. Tickets for that game, but still, I was like, oof.

Speaker: the car I was out there. Thanks. I got like seats in the 300s, like 311, 312, and I was just there with... two of my nerd friends. And we stayed the whole time.

Speaker: Yeah, same here. I suffered through that. It froze. Yeah, like I mean, they had like they did open up the taps for the beer. a little bit in the extra innings but Other than that, it got real.

Speaker: Yeah. They're chasing down rats for snacks.

Speaker: Brewers are up right now. I see two and one, but... I'm a 2 -1 right now, and it's 2 -2. Joe and Jim, thank you. Go with what AP's got, because I guess he's getting it faster.

Speaker: Yeah, because, again, he's not streaming videos. He's just streaming numbers and little dots. Yeah. That's okay. and the yeah oh However which way we watch it.

Speaker: Yeah, I mean I had to do that before to it like back in the battle days before we had like streaming video and stuff so When you had to make a choice. Yeah. Ball hits a deep left.

Speaker: It's gone! We got a home run, folks. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Cooper Pratt with a solo shot in the top of the 12. Oh, he sucked. Oh, my God. Cooper Pratt. That's a no -doubter.

Speaker: Cooper, that is a no -doubter. He's flying around the bases, dog. Oh, my God. Wow. That is a no -doubter. He hit it and he He hit it and he knew it.

Speaker: Sealed it. That might have just sealed it for the Milwaukee Brewers. That might have broken the hearts of everybody. Wow. in jail Yeah. Interesting. Emphatic home run here in the top of the 12th inning. yeah By the way, but...

Speaker: By the way, AP, I'll give you a quick recap on Sunday night. Philly will beat... Washington. and The Commanders and all the Commanders fans since the bye, which apparently was last week, have all moved on to watching hockey.

Speaker: So we're all rooting for the Washington Capitals right now. Well, I can tell you right now, if if if they're if they do have a lot of fans, as you say, Fang. It doesn't look like it because that looks like Milwaukee Brewer Stadium and in there. the way yeah no i say all i mean yeah i mean like now Yeah, I mean, again, like it it looks like, yeah, there were like I guess the Brewers.

Speaker: fans did the math and like well i can fly down there Fly back. Get a ticket for less than it would be at... um in milwaukee but you know hey i mean you know Mitchell strikes out.

Speaker: Wow, woof there's a lot of tension in that stadium now. Top of the 12th. They're going to have one chance left is Tampa Bay in the bottom of the 12th.

Speaker: Oh, wow. This is coming down to the wire. Here's the thing, too. You're leading with Junior Caminero. Ooh. Caminero will lead off Hicks and DeLuca. That's who's due up for the raise in the bottom half of this inning. Let's not discount that. You know, I think it's a one -run lead right now, so let's, you know. Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah, let's see if the if the brewers can pad this. I mean, you can't ask for anything more than their three, four, and five hitters coming up. That's true, man. You can't.

Speaker: That's the best against the best. Yup. you know. Who is pitching Seymour right now? might See you more. Oh, they're going to use this up. And our team or chances and own hand is warming up in the brewer's bullpen right now. Thank you. That's what I was looking for. okay Yeah, they just showed it on TV broadcast.

Speaker: Okay. Yeah. I see it i see it now, too.

Speaker: Oof. They're just re -trying the home run. Oh, if that is... Oof. That looks cool. That looks good. Literally a skyrocket. Yeah. Yo, that was the quickest five. That was a very quick home run try for sure.

Speaker: Yep. I was a no doubter. Not like the Adelies Garcia home run trot in Houston. Oh yeah, he was strolling.

Speaker: Oh, yeah, he took all damn day. That shit was hilarious. Yeah, he was like, hey, just to let you know, but he does, you know.

Speaker: Cooper Pratt apparently has just been the offense for the Brewers tonight. he is He has been their offense tonight. Yeah. four Four for five five. Four for five. Got a home run.

Speaker: yeah two rbis the rest of the team's like what three for 35 according to the graphic on the on the screen that we just saw. Who'd you say was in in the bullpen right now? Oh. Drohan. Your hand, yeah, yeah.

Speaker: Shane Drohan, 7 -5, 419 ERA a in the regular season. uh era over the last seven days 208. with 4k so he's been pitching very well in this world series though I'll take that for my, uh...

Speaker: for the for the go closing it out. Mhm. are the are the What are the Brewers doing in terms of like when they win the World Series? Did I hear something about how...

Speaker: I'm drinking a lot of beer. Are they buying everyone beer? Is that what they're doing? I would hope so, they're called the brewery. Ortiz grounds out to the middle. Okay.

Speaker: Two outs, yep. So now here comes... Christian Yelich, I believe. If you're expecting a Miller shipment after the Brewers win the World Series... Oh, no, it's Jackson Churrio, my bad. No, yeah Jackson Churrio.

Speaker: You were close. I'll take a Miller Lite shipment if they want to send one for me. i'll be yeah million No, no, no. Miller's closed. Miller's going to be closed oh for a day. like if that That beer is just going to Milwaukee.

Speaker: yeah Yeah, literally, it's it's like what happens when, what was it, Ireland went to, was in Boston for the World Cup, and they yeah literally ran out of beer. And they drank the bar dry, whatever. a They drank the bar dry. there's like there's I remember reading about, like, Russian towns. Was it Italy? Was it Italy, or was it? wasn't it?

Speaker: it was Scotland it it was Scotland I thought it was Ireland. Oh, Scotland. Sorry, Scotland. I don't even make the World Cup. Scotland, yeah. Yeah, it was Scott Ward, I think. It might have been Ireland, but I think it was Ireland. I think it was Scotland. right front from her yeah Yeah.

Speaker: Well, I can't. That was a ball. For spending seven days in Ireland that they will drink you ass under the table. if there You didn't challenge anyone in Ireland, did you? Oh, I did, and I did not last all night. If there's three groups of people that'll drink you dry, it's the Irish, the Scots, and the LSU fans.

Speaker: and you Did you learn anything from the first time you challenged somebody? How many people did you challenge? Three? Four? Wait, hold up. AP, have you ever drank with Korean dudes before?

Speaker: I have not. Oh! Oh, hey can jane little that's a fun time. Alright. I'm just saying. you know don man I like it Jerry O 'Fallon's this one off. It's a one -two count.

Speaker: Hey, I'm catching up I actually saw that one. I'm catching up. 2 -2 -2 count now. My streaming is caught up. Thanks a lot. to Go fund me for your internet package or something. Yeah. You got the Botkins in it, don't you? Let's start a GoFundMe, everyone, for Omar. He's going to be running a fundraiser through the winter for...

Speaker: Get him off the the the telegraph like internet he has right now. Yeah, for a new internet service. that yeah for a new internet service a streaming service that is not available in winchester virginia anything other than what's available out west and in the mountains.

Speaker: yeah those act oh Fun fact, Omar is getting updates via ticker tape right now. yeah um and Wow. Oh my god, that was hilarious. That's beautiful.

Speaker: That was beautiful. Like, bravo, John. Bravo. My friend. Bravo. That was awesome. I'm not getting invited back. yeah No, you're getting invited back, my friend. You're getting invited back, for sure.

Speaker: Well, I'm happy. Because Jason Tatum called game, baby. 125 -124 victory over the Brooklyn Nets. Jason Tatum nails a two -pointer to have a 40 -point game and send the Celtics home with victory.

Speaker: Wow. sell Celtics, Mets, Raiders. Are you just the sports midlife crisis, Omar? See, this is what I've been talking about for years. I've been saying this for years. Hey, man, we there are mental health professionals. It's okay to seek help.

Speaker: You know, it's okay. I know being a man is hard. finding mental health resources but we're here for you we can help you find you know and what you need and We talked about it earlier this year. Mental health is important, ladies and gentlemen.

Speaker: All right, first of all, do we have to go through this for an 18 ,000 time? The reason I'm a Celtics and a Mets fan is because that's what my dad likes. all right does he need help can you let your dad know that there are mental health resources for men out there and it's okay to seek help we had family in queens that's why we're a mets fan And he liked Larry Bird, so that's why he sold it to me. Okay. It's my take off of that.

Speaker: ah sure you hit one in a cheo That's allowed, but I'm not allowed to be a Red Sox fan. Oh, chug, chug, chug, chug. There we go.

Speaker: Ooh, OK. Maybe that'll make it. Yes, that's a gapper. Yes. Let's go. Oh! That could be very easy. If he was faster, that could easily be a third that could easily be a triple. Oh, I don't know, man. He was chugging. He was chugging pretty hard. so He was chugging, but that's why I say he was faster. They filled that very well.

Speaker: somebody's probably late up Somebody put a plate of meat on third base, he'll run faster. Yo! Good Lord. Oh, that was something else pretty good.

Speaker: fielding. Are they going pitching change here? Yeah, you got to go. You got to get. Oh, you probably. Yeah, you probably. But yes, Omar, there are professionals available. you know for you to help reconcile your sports you know uh your sports rooting privileges are you like are you like a maple leafs fan too or something like you being one to drink you might be he might be great kings raiders and bruins from there all in la King Trader Brewings.

Speaker: Well, the Raiders were in LA. Well, they were. At the time, they were in LA. I became a... Raiders fan because the first game I ever saw was when the Raiders. Bo Jackson. the the f the The formerly known as. The Washington football team. Commanders. Yes. Just call them the Washington football team. It's okay. Back in 1980. Keep going.

Speaker: Three. When Marcus Allen... made a tremendous spin move. and ran for 83 yards for a touchdown, and they beat the Redskins. I believe it was like 38 to 9. It was an ass whooping.

Speaker: felt your ass um and i saw it i was like five or so i think i was five years old And I saw it on a tape. in my in my neighbor's basement. I remember he had one of those screens.

Speaker: you remember back in the 80s when they had like the projection screens. that people would have in their basements to watch movies. They those now, too. They have those now. When it was newfangled technology back in the 80s. As a man who's relying on Western Union like wireless internet, you know.

Speaker: Yo, Sonic. you know what's funny my aunt actually my aunt actually tried to get me to be a giants fan The first game she showed me, though, was Super Bowl 35 against the 2000 Ravens defense.

Speaker: oh yeah Yeah, that wasn't going to happen. That wasn't going to happen. You got to show a win. Yeah, you got to show a win. I saw that as a fan. I was like, what? We do not deserve this. Honestly, as a fan, I thought I was going to be at the first.

Speaker: 3 -2 Super Bowl.

Speaker: It could have been. Also because I guess Gary Collins either stopped drinking or continued drinking, but that's not what I hear about.

Speaker: Bowers pops up to walls. We go to the bottom of the 12th, gentlemen. The Rays are down to their last three outs. All right, let's go. Here we are. This is for the... Your aunt thought, like... Of all games to show you to be a Giants fan, No, see, this was live. This was live, so...

Speaker: Because the Giants are play and win the Super Bowl and then the 2000 Ravens. No, they're not. No, yeah no. that Because like that was probably one of the most boring Super Bowls ever.

Speaker: And that's how I slowly became a Cowboys fan. Makes sense. Okay, there are mental health resources available for you as a man. I became a fan during the day the Dan Campbell. Dave Campo era, when they were like three years...

Speaker: Three straight years, five and 11. I was like. are we and you were like yo this is a program i want to get on like this is a This is what I want. I was this close to being a Rams fan. until somebody's team in Boston. decided to upset them in the Super Bowl that year.

Speaker: thats And I was like, nope. And so you're like, let me... so you're like no team and Let's go with the team that won three of them in the 90s. And hasn't won any since.

Speaker: Very true. There are mental health resources available for you as well. So we got a new center fielder. Luis Lara checks in. at center field because of the... Pitch hitter.

Speaker: or Mental. like Mental health is important, ladies and gentlemen. Yes, it is. yeah This is our last stream. I know we've talked about it before. and This is our last stream before the before the proposed lockout.

Speaker: and you need mental health services. I know we've been half -heartedly joking about it. But please, Go seek some help. You can do it through your insurance. It's free.

Speaker: It's 100 % free. Well... i unless you Unless you're a Cowboys fan then you need to go see a psych ward. Yeah, just well, that too. You might need surgery for that one, to be honest. Yeah, probably. back in the 90s if you're a cowboys fan

Speaker: We can't read. We have VHS tapes of Super Bowl. 30? Yeah, yeah Wow! know I still remember when where you guys won, it like back to back to back years.

Speaker: you know, that was fun. Not really, but you know. See, i blame losinging this I blame all of this on Neil O'Donnell. Wow. that ne lion That's a throwback. Why do you blame this on D. O'Donnell? Please. It's more than fault. thing what what What are you against him?

Speaker: Here's the thing. Jerry gets rid of Jimmy, trying to prove that he can win one without Jimmy Johnson. And Neil O'Donnell is like, here, I'll throw two passes right to Larry Brown.

Speaker: Larry Brown, I remember that. The Raiders signed him the next year. Yeah. did they They just love signing Super Bowl MVPs, don't they? Yep. Yeah, we do.

Speaker: Never worked out. Never works out. We got an update here. What are we doing? I see somebody. One. Okay. wanna up count Yeah, bottom of... brown mother uh as well.

Speaker: Whatever that number is. and 98 mile per hour sinker again jesus Crazy. I don't know what's wrong with him. Cameron arrows on with a basic fielding error looks like Ooh! And they did not bring they did not bring in the other guy. They kept in Sensatilia. Oh! water hands on a throw A throwing error by Ortiz.

Speaker: Yeah, that's a one. So now here comes the winning run. Oh, it's getting... Get in tight, people. All right, drum guy guys Razor nut.

Speaker: Did ya?

Speaker: Hey, gotta keep fighting, right? o Ooh, man. Oof. Yeah.

Speaker: the I don't think we need. that many replays of him healing the ball. so and that we know't get

Speaker: that's it Okay, that's an error. That's a tough error. That's an error. Are they doing pitching change?

Speaker: Uh... Pinching Kings or Pinch Runner? Oh, Kevin Arrows. Kevin Arrows. It looks like there was another error too. Yeah, there's a pitching change. Yeah, so yeah and caine arrow I think Cameron Arrow, is he out for a pinch run or is he just getting...

Speaker: getting a better I think he was, was he hobbling off? He looked a little hobbly when he was coming off the field, so he might be getting a pinch runner for him, and then honestly, I would do that. yeah

Speaker: another unnecessary betting advertisement.

Speaker: Oh, that's all you see now these days. Yeah, we have too many of those. Yeah, it's wild. Although, again, i so a friend of mine did have a, uh... did somehow obtain like the the MGM suite through, I guess, betting.

Speaker: Damn, nice. It is nice, but I was like, he wants to figure out how he got it. I think you call it a mole. It's Shane Doran. Coming out. Shane Doran coming in? There was um there was some news. so I mean, I guess it's celebrity news, but like you might have covered it. um But I think Cindy Sweeney is supposed or angling to like marry Scooter Braun or something like that. I saw that like three or four weeks back.

Speaker: good And I was just like, I don't need to know that news, but thank you for foisting it app upon my timeline or letting me know. ah these I just saw Brad's home run too. That was a majestic shot.

Speaker: Yeah. Oh, yeah oh you're you're getting to see some of the clips, AP? Yeah. um checking in because i'm looking at some of the highlights while they're doing Gotcha, yeah.

Speaker: I guess isn't it doesn't hit as hard when they're dots moving around.

Speaker: Yeah. I mean, yeah pretty much. Yeah. and why watching that instead of watching uh instead of watching a tv or streaming I mean, this is actually, this actually is coming in quicker than TV. Well, I get that. That's true. Yeah. It's not the same. I mean, fair, but it's like, also it's like.

Speaker: My TV don't work half the time, so. Okay, so I'm just saying like you were one step above the ah ticker tape. but i bare i barely get a I barely get ABC, so I barely got to watch the game last night. Oh my God, on really?

Speaker: Damn. i'm gonna need you to just uh have a laptop and just uh illegally stream it Allegedly. Allegedly. Allegedly. Allegedly. Allegedly I may do things like that.

Speaker: Can neither confirm nor deny. Cannot confirm, nor did I.

Speaker: Alright, what's the update? Oh, my God. I want counter Higgs. Yep. Look at the man on first Who is... Yeah, Drahan is still...

Speaker: Is it Caminero still? It's not saying that he was subbed out for. so Oh, maybe you should give him a drink of water and, like, maybe start turning it out. Yeah. Probably.

Speaker: Yeah, TV broadcasts doesn't mention a pinch runner yet, so...

Speaker: It's a one -two count right now. They need to catch up.

Speaker: Alright, yeah. We'll get the one too.

Speaker: I've got two and two count now. That one was low. Is it? Yeah, I think it's Kevin there. Welcome to the jungle. Caminero, he's still on first base, so I guess he was just...

Speaker: Just needed a sip of water, I guess. Yeah.

Speaker: but He looked like he was looking. That's a base hit in the left! Ooh! Caminero goes to third! Okay. and and yeah First and foremost.

Speaker: Okay, first, nobody else. First and third, nobody else. Uh -oh. Ooh. Here we go. Jake Bauer. Oh, he went to. Oh, dang. First and third on a ball to left field.

Speaker: Shouts. Hell yeah, i guess I guess that leg isn't doing so bad. DeLuca and then Simpsons up right after him. Okay, alright, we got something interesting going on.

Speaker: see Caminero. Okay, I don't think he was laughing as bad as I thought.

Speaker: Well, he was hugging the base pretty hard.

Speaker: So I got another mound visit. Probably just to calm the pitcher down. Yeah. Cedric Mullins comes in now for Junior Caminero.

Speaker: Oh that's from the past. is he so Is he still? I'm surprised he's still playing baseball. Good for him. Yeah, same here. ah Because I remember him as an as an Oriole ages ago.

Speaker: Yeah. Yeah, they they he was in the Orioles when we swept him. uh a couple years ago. Gosh, how old is he going to be right now? Yo, Kevin Arrow does not look good. Oh, wow.

Speaker: Yeah, Kevin Arrow looks like he's three minutes away from retirement. Yeah, come on there and see if you're not getting a PTM. Yeah. Jumping by how he's limping, like, and and I'm only saying this because I recently sprained my foot. I think he might have sprained his foot.

Speaker: he's spraying yeah well yes it definitely doesn't it doesn't look great so yeah he definitely hopped them like he it looks like just walking like Like he's laboring, you know. Yeah, he definitely used like the last of his power bar to like just... spring from first to third so oh for sure for sure again DeLuca just missed.

Speaker: Just missed it, foul. Add that bulk on a couple of... Couple feet. More to the right. That probably was a ah game -tying game.

Speaker: But by the way, ladies and gentlemen, we have zero outs. Just a bit early. So it is first and third with zero outs. yeah wonderful play Double play is still in effect, but you can also you're also got...

Speaker: A potential... You gotta get the Romney the Russell. Yes. Yeah, I mean You gotta get the run across. It's all that matters. yeah like one two one two count now he swung on the third pitch so it's a one two count Okay.

Speaker: wolf

Speaker: and that play Hit up in the middle. We got a tie game. Oh, snap! Oh, snap.

Speaker: And we go. Oh, my my God. Here we go. Here we go, ladies and gentlemen. The race has answered. We have two men on, nobody out. The game -winning run is at second base. Yeah, first and second, no abs.

Speaker: 3 -3, bottom of the 12th. And it's the guy who's been... The run score all game for the Rays today. Chandler. It's Chandler Simpson.

Speaker: Talk about iconic 90s TV. There it is. Looks good. All right. yeah go Nick Fortes will come in for Liam Hicks to pitch run.

Speaker: So we got a pitch runner on second. Tampa's going nuts right now, ladies and gentlemen.

Speaker: You know, Tampa, Tampa's a solid sports town, so, you know. Yeah, the Tempest is... Tampa's a solid town. I have no complaints. Oh, we appreciate you tuning in, SPS. Thank you so much.

Speaker: Simpson trying to find an interesting place.

Speaker: What did you put there? Smash that like button, yo.

Speaker: yeah you got I mean, you got to go for a button here. There's nothing else you can do. a

Speaker: Hey, I guess maybe you have an outing you have an out to give so yeah That's true. Yeah, giving out to give. You also get you'll want to get maybe get try to... Yeah, SAC 5 will bring the winning run in. so Well, maybe because you got you got a man on second and a man on first. You don't have a man on third.

Speaker: No, no, but if you want them if you bunt them over, you will have a man on second and third one out. you And then you'll have one out, right, yeah. yeah so you right yeah so like that i think i i i'd go with that I'd definitely do it.

Speaker: i would just his I would just hit single. It's a 2 -1 count right now. I don't just hit a single. The man is like trying to buy, just a fundamental point.

Speaker: like don't be like trying to like get in the bottom of the zone and be funny you know Yeah. 2 -2 count that was a called strike on the fourth oh o the uptic oh That's a low. Oh, yeah a cheat Yeah, okay. I mean, I guess I see what he's trying to do in terms of like, you know, maybe nip. Now you got to hate this.

Speaker: the butt the bunts out of play because of yeah that's an out No, that's right, that's good. But like, yeah, but like... I guess, yeah. That's a ball hit up the middle base hit! We're loaded up! Folks. Oh, snap. OK. Didn't get it. Load it up. Bases loaded, ladies and gentlemen. Bases loaded.

Speaker: What? is oh Oh, my goodness. What a game. This is loaded. Nobody out. And the Rays are reigning it up right now. Well, look, Tampa Bay is trying to stay in it as we said.

Speaker: The back is against the wall. Bottom of the 12th. And they take a four. They have a 3 -3 tie game and they take the bases loaded here.

Speaker: All right, now AP. If you see something early, APM, I need you to wait about 20 seconds. before you say anything so that way we can all be happy together. So pitch hitter coming on. Pitch hitter coming on. This is Ben Williamson.

Speaker: Hitting for Victor Mesa. We're getting a very fervent ah pitch pep talk from the catcher to the pitcher. so Ended with a nice back slap. is he's like he's like He's like, I need you right now. You were not doing anything. were not doing any of that you you weren making all the pitches that you can. We're going to go get hibachi after this.

Speaker: It's going to be awesome. don't give me excuses give me results We're going to a steakhouse after this. Yeah, get us oh yeah we get us get us out of this. we' go the truth we're going to We're going to Disneyland and Hooters.

Speaker: Disney World. I mean, Tampa is more likely the latter than the former. Eh, eh. They could go to both, but you could go to Disney World. It's not far from Orlando. We gotta walk off Stop crying.

Speaker: Stop it! We just told you just told you to wait 20 seconds. We just told you to wait 20 seconds. It was literally 20 seconds. What are you talking about? Now I see it. Now I see it. I just saw it. What a wild hit, dog. Oh, my God. I can see it. What happened? Come on.

Speaker: That's a wild hit. They were going for the double play. The Brewers were going for the double play. And he literally just blooped it over the first baseman.

Speaker: You're alive. Up into the air. It was like a Baltimore chop over the first base. Yeah. So the race, the race.

Speaker: The Rays saved their season! Oh my goodness! They, uh, packed it in the wall. I mean, they got it in the wall. What? Hey, Capital One is spending $10 ,000 of I guess someone's money to donate to the Jackie Robinson Foundation.

Speaker: Because tonight's game is going to be a walk -off. Hey look ladies and gentlemen Y 'all just had the best watch along ever. You got to watch us. Walk it off. What a game.
