Hey y'all this is Steve Grapp and this is Kelly and this is Stand Up Arkansas and we're giving to you our voters guide endorsements across the state for 2024.

Endorsement of Coach Jesse Magruder

Our friends, people we've got to know across different things in the last couple of years and we're talking about House District 35 which is important.

Crittenden County, it might have a little more of maybe Lee County or something, but it's over in the Delta and we are firmly putting our endorsement behind coach Jesse Magruder.

Magruder's Community and Professional Contributions

what an awesome guy Jesse Magruder is. We worked with Jesse with the education amendment both times and have seen him all across the state and he is a member of his community. He's a police officer um and he has been doing the work in his community. He's already a leader in his community and now this is just ah an an official position to give him an opportunity to represent his people. Yes, and just to speak out for everybody over in the Delta and the people of District 35. There are such unique issues over in the Delta and you really have to have somebody who's a strong leader in order to be able to advocate.

Absolutely, and not just is he a public school teacher, a coach, he was a police officer, but but he's got this big family and it's a beautiful family and he's proud of it. I think there's literally, I think there's nine or ten, he's got nine or ten kids, it's a big family, and that tells you something about him as a man.

if he can still have that many kids and still have enough time to put into the community, it's amazing.

Focus on Economic Development and Family Support

And Jesse is looking at the Lerns Act was the main thing that got him in. And that's how we got to know Jesse and he collected signatures. But he's also workforce development and economic development within Crittenden County, bringing more jobs, higher wages, that kind of stuff is really high on his agenda.

And he really wants to work with all of the families to lift people up, but especially our military families. So let's make sure that we know who's running out there and he's a good guy on top of that. Yes, he is. He's a great guy.

Voter Engagement and Accessibility Initiatives

Y'all, if you're out in the Delta, we've got to get the vote out. Crittenden County typically is one of the lowest um voter turnout counties in the nation. And I know that we've got friends over there. Kristin Wynn is over there trying to help get people out. She's working with Jesse on his campaign.

and turnout is the name of the game there and it's just really critical that we make sure that all of your friends and your family have a plan and can get to the polls coming up because urgent to ensure that everybody's out there and has their vote counted. Absolutely and if you need a ride to the poll The NAACP and Lyft have partnered up and just go to the stand up page on Facebook and there's a code. Do not let transportation be what keeps you from getting to the polls. Go out there and vote. Jesse Magruder.
