Michele Martin: Hello, and welcome to the Authenticity Revolution, where truth is the rebellion. This is a space for women in midlife and beyond who've outgrown the roles, rules, and rhythms that once defined them and are ready to live from what's true instead of what's expected.
Michele Martin: I'm Michelle Martin, and I'm a transformational coach and human design guide, and I don't teach you who to be. I help you to come back to yourself. Here we talk about nervous system truth, identity reclamation, and what it actually means to stop performing your life and start inhabiting it.
Michele Martin: This isn't self-improvement. It's a return to yourself. If you're here, something in you already knows. Listen to that.
Michele Martin: So after alignment cracks something open, After the old identity starts to dissolve, after you realize you can't go back, but you also can't see what's next yet, there's a question that quietly rises.
Michele Martin: How do I move forward when nothing feels clear? This is a conversation about alignment, the in-between, and learning how to stay with yourself as something new takes shape.
Michele Martin: This episode is for that moment. Not the beginning, not the breakthrough, but the place where clarity hasn't arrived and you're still here.
Michele Martin: Because here's the truth that no one really says out loud. You don't need clarity to lead yourself. You need presence. See, we're taught that leadership comes after certainty.
Michele Martin: That we have to figure it out first and then we move. But in real transformation, especially in midlife, clarity is often the result of aligned actions.
Michele Martin: not the requirement. You don't lead yourself by knowing the whole path. You lead yourself by how you show up to this step.
Michele Martin: And that can feel really unsettling because when nothing is clear, the mind gets loud. It wants answers, plans, reassurance,
Michele Martin: But self-leadership doesn't begin with competence. It begins with coherence. And I want to share something small but real.
Michele Martin: There were moments when I was building my business when I didn't know what I was doing next. I didn't have the right language yet. I didn't feel ready.
Michele Martin: I didn didn't feel certain. But there was something that I did feel. I felt when something was a no. I felt when something was premature.
Michele Martin: And I felt when my body tightened and when it softened. I made decisions without clarity, but not without integrity.
Michele Martin: I didn't feel confident, but I felt coherent. And that mattered more. Because self-leadership isn't about having it all figured out. It's not about a five-step plan, a rebrand, rushing to resolve discomfort, forcing motivation or momentum.
Michele Martin: Self-leadership is quieter than that. It looks like listening before deciding. choosing honesty over urgency, staying connected to your body, and responding instead of reacting.
Michele Martin: And this is where the nervous system comes in. So when clarity is missing, the nervous system often reaches for control.
Michele Martin: It sounds like, just decide. Make a plan. Do something. Hurry up. But control isn't leadership.
Michele Martin: It's fear trying to feel safe. And often, when your nervous system is asking for certainty, your body is actually asking for safety.
Michele Martin: True self-leadership usually feels slower. It's less visible. Less impressive. Sometimes it looks like rest.
Michele Martin: Sometimes it looks like saying no without knowing what the yes will even be yet. Sometimes it looks like staying with yourself instead of abandoning yourself for the next version of you.
Michele Martin: So if you're here, if you're in the not knowing, let me offer you a few anchors. Not answers, but anchors.
Michele Martin: You can ask yourself, what feels honest right now? Instead of, what's the right move? You can't make decisions, well, you can make decisions in small increments.
Michele Martin: You don't need to solve the whole future. You can let your body lead before your mind comes up with a conclusion. You can notice what expands.
Michele Martin: and will tighten and trust that information. And if your body feels tired here, that's not a problem. It's information.
Michele Martin: You're not waiting to become someone else. You're practicing being with yourself differently. And leadership begins long before certainty, long before competence,
Michele Martin: long before visibility. It begins in how you stay. So here's a question I'll leave you with. it What does it look like to trust yourself here without needing to know what comes next?
Michele Martin: Let that question soften you. You don't need to answer it today. Just stay.
Michele Martin: As you listen, I want to remind you of something important. Nothing I share here is meant to replace your inner authority. Take what resonates, leave what doesn't.
Michele Martin: Your body always knows. If this episode stirred something in you, let it land. You don't need to rush to do anything with it.
Michele Martin: And if you're at a point in your life where you're done outsourcing your truth and ready for guided, grounded support, you'll find ways to work with me in the show notes.
Michele Martin: So until next time, remember this. Midlife isn't your unraveling, it's your return. And you're not broken, you're waking up.
