Michele Martin: Alignment gets tossed around like it's a vibe, but it's so much deeper than that. Alignment is a practice, a daily choosing, a returning.
Michele Martin: Today, we're unpacking what alignment really looks like. Not the feel-good version, but the sole honest one. If you're listening to this and realizing you've been calling something aligned just because it looks good on paper, you're not wrong.
Michele Martin: You're just becoming more honest. Years ago, i was temping while looking for a full-time job. Money was tight and I was desperate for some kind of stability.
Michele Martin: And then a job came along with great pay. Logically, it made sense, but my body, my intuition, everything in me felt off.
Michele Martin: I called a friend who knew the employer and he confirmed the red flags. It wasn't a good environment. Turning it down felt both right and awful, but that's alignment.
Michele Martin: It's not always comfortable, but it is true.
Michele Martin: Alignment is congruence between your energy, your values, your design, your intuition, your body, your truth.
Michele Martin: And it's not supposed to feel like constant ease. It's supposed to feel like inner integrity. Sometimes alignment feels like relief, clarity, ease,
Michele Martin: But sometimes it also feels like loss, fear, uncertainty, discomfort, saying no, letting go. Alignment isn't about comfort.
Michele Martin: It's about coherence. So how to know you're out of alignment. Look for signs like resentment, dread, tightness, the ick,
Michele Martin: forcing, avoidance, irritation, people pleasing, and or feeling drained, your body always tells the truth first.
Michele Martin: And these aren't things to master, they're doorways. And you don't need all of them. One is enough. So here's a daily practice that you can use to return to alignment.
Michele Martin: Spend some time in silence, even two minutes, and check in with yourself and ask, what feels true right now?
Michele Martin: Grounding your nervous system, right? Following your strategy and authority. Noticing sensations in your body. Saying one honest thing a day.
Michele Martin: Small practices bring you home. And here's a question for you to contemplate or journal about.
Michele Martin: What does alignment feel like in your body? And what's one small way that you could honor that feeling this week?
Michele Martin: And if you're feeling something shift as you listen to this, know that this is a conversation about alignment, the in-between, and learning how to stay with yourself as something new takes shape.
Michele Martin: And remember, you're not broken, you're waking up.
