Hey there, friends. Welcome to episode number 35 of One More Run, the podcast. My name's AJ. This is Erica, and you met her last week. This is June, and if you're listening, you don't get to see her, unfortunately. She's our super cute nine-week-old, nine weeks, 10 weeks? 10 weeks. 10-week-old Cavapoo, new dog in the in the house, and she's hanging out for another episode of the podcast. She survived last week. She did, yes. And so she's here again, and hopefully she stays this calm the whole time. That's right.

If you're new here, the goal of our podcast is for you to feel confident, prepared, and inspired. And today we're kind of like adding in a little bit of another like level to that of like, we want you to feel like this is relatable. Yeah. Right. So that's why we've brought on a special guest to talk about how hard all of this stuff can be in terms of training and running and racing and all that with life.
00:01:23
Speaker
Yes. Right. Um, we asked for, you know, um, topic suggestions from y'all and several of you said, uh, how do you balance work and training? Right. You know, like that was one of the things, how do you balance? I've got three kids, you know, like, and so yes, you and I obviously have, you know, we have our opinions on that, but we also wanted to bring in someone who's got a lot going on. So that's why we asked Devin to be a part of this. She's got a lot going on. She does. oh Yes. ah You're going to learn about that here in just a little bit. But first, let's read a review, Erica. Yes. These are on Apple Podcasts. We love reading these to say thank you. And also, you know, just is super encouraging. So thank you all for leaving these these reviews. It helps us.
00:01:58
Speaker
This review comes from Brain of B and it's titled Top Notch in Every Way. This podcast is remarkably great. The organization, attention to detail, and production value are excellent. Every episode is informative and encouraging for runners of all levels. But what really makes this show special are the hosts, AJ and Erica. Their genuine warmth and kindness make every topic covered engaging and approachable. This podcast truly accomplishes its goal of helping others feel confident, prepared, and inspired. AJ, that is like the best review. Yeah. I mean, that is our goal. Yeah. I love, yeah you know, they feel like ah not only they get the information, but the encouragement, yeah right? Feeling confident, prepared, and inspired. We say that all the time. but Totally. The fact that, you know, they're not tired of listening to the two of us.
00:02:44
Speaker
This is great. So thank you for leaving that review. Thank you so much. That's very, so very kind. Awesome. If you don't mind, leave us a review on on Apple Podcasts. It helps other people know whether or not this is a good show to listen to or not. Absolutely. Thank you all for those of you that have. We're kind of catching up on those. We are,

Listener Interaction and Upcoming Topics

00:03:00
Speaker
yeah. Which is good. Other news item real fast before we dive into today's topic. um Some of you have asked for stickers and we have some left. Basically, we had like the original batch of stickers. And so I'm thinking, Erica, that we designed some new ones. Oh, fun. Yeah. is what i'm is what I'm thinking. yeah So if you want any of the originals before we we you know run out and and get a new batch, and I think they should just be different. yeah um Just email us, hello at ajanderica.com. Email us. And if you're willing to send us your address, I will send you the stickers for free, no problem. And when we're out, we're out. And then we'll just order new ones. yeah If we have any left for Princess, I'll bring them with us. If we don't have any left for Princess, sorry. If you see us, I'll have some in my in my bag or in my pocket. So yeah anyway, we new stickers are on the way, I guess is what I'm saying. If you want any of the ones that we have left, feel free to email us. They're free it' to you. So upcoming topic next week, we're going to do a princess recap episode where we talk all about the princess weekend. It's your favorite race weekend, right? It is my favorite race weekend. So you'll, maybe I'll just let you lead the whole discussion.
00:04:04
Speaker
No, you don't want to lead the princess topic? Sure. Yeah. You're in charge. Okay. I'm going to let you come up with a show outline and everything. how about that? Oh, that's so nice of you. Yeah, you're welcome. Princess episode is Erica's. You heard it here first, folks. She had no idea i was about to say that. no Awesome. Let's dive into today's topic. We have a very special guest. Devin is

Devin's Background and Run Disney Journey

00:04:23
Speaker
from Zippity D Tees. That's like the primary thing we know her from. Erica, you love the clothing from Zipp. Yes, I wear it all the time. Yep. Disney-inspired stuff. ah You wear it on the podcast. You wear it every race weekend. Oh, yeah. So she's got that, but she's also a run coach. She's got a podcast. She's got all these things, a pretty great Instagram that you're going to want to follow if you don't already for just absolutely inspiration encouragement and all yeah that stuff. So anyway, we are super excited, and we're going dive into that interview.
00:04:49
Speaker
right now. Hey there friends. This is a big deal. It's just amazing to have Devin on the podcast and Devin is involved in so many things and it's going to fit perfectly with our topic today of balancing all the things. Cause she's just got so many things in the air. yeah And like, every time I see stuff online, I'm like, wow, I like, I forgot she even did that. You know, like it's just craziness. Right. And then it all like for us, like, like the mountain peak thing, there's the zippity DTs. Yeah. You know what I mean? and And so I know you're a big fan. Yes. Anyway, just's just so much excitement for us today yeah be talking with Devin. So Devin, I want to welcome you to our tiny little podcast and I can't even tell you how excited we are.
00:05:27
Speaker
First of all, you guys don't seem like a tiny little podcast and I'm honored to be in such good company. So thank you so much for having me. We, yeah, we, we are, we're thrilled to have you. So I would love to like try and describe all the things you do, but I don't even think I could correctly, you know, because like, I just see so much good stuff coming from you. Right. Can you give us the simple, like, like, you know, and I know it's going to sound like bragging. It's not like, yeah like we, we'll brag on your behalf, but can you tell tell us like, Hey, I do this with this and this with this, like kind of the, the segments.
00:05:56
Speaker
Yeah. um Well, this is officially my 10th year of doing Run Disney. So that's really exciting. yes Zip's been going since 2017, which is exciting. It's me and my cousin, Carrie, who own it, design it, do all of the work for it, content, designs, you name it. um Run Fit Fab, the podcast, is a couple years old now. so And I do the Run Fit Fab training programs with my dear friend and amazing coach, Kristen, as I'm sure you know as well.
00:06:22
Speaker
um I also am a full-time personal trainer. So I train clients about 25 hours a week in person. I'm really specialized in corrective exercise. And I love just focusing on making, especially our Run Disney clients for RunFit Fab, just better runners and just general, in general, just better people overall. Like how can I help them?
00:06:46
Speaker
be the best that they can possibly be. That's super clear. Yeah. That's just a few of the things. Yeah. Just a few. Can you clarify some of the naming? I don't know. Like, like sometimes I i get tongue tied. I say run fit fab, fit fab, thought like, like, like, can you clarify any of that? Like, or, or is it just like a hodgepodge? Like, how would you describe the naming of all that stuff? Well, Kristen and i kind of got together and we have so many like common in things in common that we really just like but talked over, we discussed, we DM back and forth. And that's how RunFit Fab basically began. And it was just a combination of I think I was FitFab Disney at the time. And then I decided to do Dopey again. So I changed my handle. And then she's RunFitMama. So we just combined it. And it was a beautiful friendship and relationship that formed. And RunFitFab has been going strong ever since. And we have, I mean, there's got to be like 15 programs going on at this point. And our In Summer series was our first one. and that was so fun. And that's all three months of summer, kind of the lead up to the Run Disney season. And yeah, I mean, just so many things have built on my Instagram and then from Zippity Tease. And I just, I post here, there, everywhere. And I think it's just built such lovely relationships for me, but also like having our customer base from Zip and then they transform into clients. And then that helps with the podcast. Like it's just been such an overflow of good things that I just can't even put into words how it could be just one thing. It is so many things. Yeah. So clearly I'm like a huge fan of Zippity DTs, but tell us, um how does it connect to Run

Zippity DTs and Community Events

00:08:17
Speaker
Disney? Oh my gosh. um
00:08:19
Speaker
Well, since it's like my 10th year, I think, I forget what year we actually, because that wasn't the design you're wearing, wasn't the first Run Disney design, I think we did a general Mickey flat lay. And I had thought, and I told Carrie, Carrie wasn't really into the run Disney scene at the time. And it was still really budding on social media too. And I was just like, I haven't seen like, you know, runners take their flat lay photos for these run Disney races. And it's such a thing. I was like, you know, be really niche if we put that and translated that to a t-shirt in a design. And so we did that for just the general marathon. And we also did that for dopey. And that kind of took us into this run Disney stratosphere all of a sudden and really elevated like people coming up to us during race weekends, which I absolutely love and adore. Like people know, like just seeing our shirts still, like year after year, it still gets me in the feels. But if you catch me crying, please still come up to me. It's just, I'm very emotional about it still because-
00:09:13
Speaker
It's become this wonderful, beautiful thing. And I just, I love the community that it's, it's built up, but also what run Disney has become for us. So yeah that's awesome. It is awesome. yeah So for someone who we have a lot of um people who are new to run Disney, right? Like that listened to our show, which is great. We like that. We, we love pouring in all the information to those that are new. If they just haven't experienced the race yet, they may not have seen Zippity DTs at a race or, or, you know, in general yet. Can you give me that like 10 second, 15 second, like, Hey, here's what we do at zip.
00:09:42
Speaker
Yeah. So Carrie and I are graphic designers and we design our own t-shirts and sweatshirts and mock neck crew necks and everything now and hats too. um But we also really focus on the Disney aspect, but also pop culture, just fun things and really anything that pops into our head that we think that we like personally and then hope that others will like as well. But we always say we're going to do this until the fun runs dry. Like it's just been so fun and so magical and it continues to be that for us. So We're just going keep going with it. But yeah, we bring, we bring magic to the hearts and homes of all of our customers. Yeah. That's awesome. And you bring it to the race weekend. Cause I know you have the pop-ups every once in a while, right at race weekends. Right. And so princesses this week, literally tomorrow, everyone's going to be descending on on Walt Disney world. Right. And you guys do your pop-up a princess pop-up. Um, and so we, yeah you know, we haven't, don't have experience it with it, but can you tell us a little bit about it? Or, I mean, is it even too late to come? Like what, what's the deal with it?
00:10:38
Speaker
Yeah, um you absolutely can come. Anyone is invited. um it is going to be at the Holiday Inn this year. We've kind of jumped around the Disney Springs area the past few years. And this is our fourth annual princess pop-up with two park princesses, Sam and Haley, who do the permanent jewelry and regular jewelry.
00:10:53
Speaker
And we're going to have a lot of fun things there. Some never-been-seen designs before, but also some fan favorites like, Eric, what you're wearing. Yes. Um, but yeah, no, it's always a good time. We consider it more of just like a group hang. And then if you come to buy things, great. Um, we love that. We love the support. And if you're able to do on a, do it on a race weekend, we just really, it would mean the world to us if you could come. So yeah, it's the Friday 11 to three, um, on 5k day. Perfect. yeah number Number one reason someone wants to come. What, what is it?
00:11:20
Speaker
ah Hello to buy things. Oh, okay. My bad. We will be going. yeah better We do have a new thing. We have a hat press. So we're doing a hat press station. So new hat designs specifically for princess weekend and new patches. So there is that as well.
00:11:37
Speaker
Awesome. Awesome. I know like right before we started this podcast, Devin, you offered ah for us to offer to our listeners a discount code, which I thought was incredibly generous of you. And we really appreciate that. So um I thought it'd be kind of fun, like, because we haven't, you haven't decided what it is. Like, can we just come up with like a code on, on now? And then we'll just share that with everybody here on the podcast. we'll put it in the show notes and all that. What, what, what code works for y'all?
00:12:00
Speaker
How about one more run? yeah Yeah. Does that work for you, Devin? One more run. Absolutely. In all caps and just at checkout, enter that code and you'll be good to go for 10% off your entire word. Oh man.
00:12:11
Speaker
Thank you for doing that. That's super awesome. um Also. Okay. So last thing I want to talk about is in terms of just kind of getting to know you and all that is your, your podcast, right? So we have you on our podcast, which is just ah such a joy whatever, but you have your own. So tell us a smidge about the run fit fab podcast. Who's it for? What's the goal? Like kind of give us that.
00:12:29
Speaker
It's for anyone who wants to listen to Kristen and I yip and yap because for about 45 minutes to an hour. It's just girl talk, but it's you know two coaches who love what they do and are passionate about it and just want to bring clients, friends, Run Disney lovers, and people from across all ages and abilities just to learn more about us and what we have to offer and obviously learn about Run Disney. And to new runners, to seasoned runners, I think we really try and hit the scope of what Run Disney is about, and that's the community. For sure.
00:12:58
Speaker
So Devon, I know that you've been doing Run Disney for about 10 years now. So how did it start? Like what was your first race? Why do you keep doing it? Tell us all the things. My first race was Princess 2016. I did. Really? Oh my God. I find so many people did that one. their first race. Yeah. It's so interesting. It's awesome. But yeah, it was great. I didn't really it was my first half marathon. I had found out from friends who were posting on Instagram about Run Disney and I had no idea. And at the time, this was not like a registration day fiasco. So I think I just jumped in whenever and registered for it. Yeah. And it was great. I ran it with my college buddy and it just spurred this interest of like, oh, I got to keep going with this. I got to try the other race weekends, but I also want to try all these different distances. And then shortly thereafter, it was dopey. And then end to story. It just kept going, kept snowballing from there. Yeah. Why do you keep doing it? What's the why behind that? Like, you know, especially a dopey. I mean, that takes up half your life. You know what and i mean? Like, why why do you do that?
00:13:59
Speaker
Honestly, running to me has just been so therapeutic in so many ways. And i promised myself after college, which I played soccer in college, I just never wanted to lose all of that training I had built up for. And I just thought if I could continue it in one way or another and prove to myself that I can do this and feel good about it and try all these different avenues and run Disney, like Disney has always been special to me. It's where I went every summer and that's where I hung out with Carrie and that's how our business developed. And so it just meshed really beautifully with the two things I love, fitness and Disney. That's great. What's your favorite race weekend and why? Usually we've kind of found that whatever everybody's first was, you know what I mean? Is that true for you or do you have a, is it, is it not princess? What's your favorite? What what do you like?
00:14:46
Speaker
It's still princess, but by a smaller margin, I would say, because marathon weekend is top tier. Absolutely. But princess for me, because my birthday always falls around it too. And it was my first race weekend. So it's very special for me still.
00:14:59
Speaker
Yeah, that's awesome. Okay. So if you were going to recommend one run Disney race weekend to a brand new runner, which one would you suggest? m I would say marathon weekend. I just feel like the vibes are so high for that weekend. Yeah. And it's I mean there's a lot more I feel like there are a lot of seasoned runners within that, but everyone just seems ah like they're for just the best reason. And that is to just compete with themselves, make friends along the way and really just make it

Run Disney Recommendations and Personal Stories

00:15:30
Speaker
about the community. And I think it's really special and everyone just high fives one another. And like, I don't see that out on a regular course. And that's why i run Disney for me has always been like my home race because I just don't get that communal feel I do with run Disney. And so
00:15:45
Speaker
definite I suggest it to everyone. I'm like, if you can get in on registration day, do run Disney. Yeah. Oh yeah, for sure. Yeah. We love it too. Yeah. Awesome. Thanks for kind of giving us some background. Anything else we need to know about you before we ask you some really hard hitting questions? I mean, that the list that's about to hit you that you don't even know what's coming is about to like, we're going to know who you are on some of these answers. Anything else we need to know about like your background or anything like that? Cause I got some hard questions for you.
00:16:09
Speaker
Uh, no, I, I mean, there I'm all over the map as you can very well see, but I would like to know you guys question. Cause I am a podcast host too. Sure. What's your favorite Disney treat after a race?
00:16:22
Speaker
Oh, pineapple cider. Yeah. Yeah, for sure. Yeah. Yeah. We go straight to the pineapple cider stand. Yeah. Yeah. yeah you So I don't drink at all before the race. Like Erica's like, Erica's like, it's a bit extreme. You know and i mean? Like two months before and I'm like no, I'm training for a race, you know? And so as soon as that finished line after the marathon, I'm i'm the first person in the pineapple cider stand yeah my getting my pineapple cider for sure.
00:16:45
Speaker
Yeah. And then after that, just like a whole bunch of carbs, but like not any one specific the cream cheese pretzel. Yeah, we do love that do like that. Yeah. Yeah. We yeah just go into the parking. We snack. We don't usually go do a celebration meal. We celebration snack for the rest of all the whole day. I love that because then you can get a bunch of different things. That's exactly right. Stick to just one.
00:17:03
Speaker
i yeah i was holding a pretzel in one hand and a dole whip in the other at one point. Like, like I literally went from Tomorrowland to Frontierland just literally had both. I love it. We've got some would you rather questions, Devin. This is how we really get to know everybody. So if you're cool with that, I'm going to throw, we've got four or five of them. We're going to throw them you. And we, and we ask everybody this first one and man, Erica and I are divided. yeah if If you've heard our podcast before, we are divided on this one. Everybody knows Erica is, is, is I'm trying to, trying to teach her the the right way, you know, the right answer, but she's, You have like three people on your team, so i don't know what you're talking about. Anyway, it's ah it's divisive. Here's the big question, and we're going to see where you land on this one. Would you rather, on a Disney half marathon, would you rather run down Main Street or have the finisher medal for that half? You can only have one of those things for a Disney half marathon. Which one you choosing?
00:17:55
Speaker
think the medal. Oh. yeah Yes, yes, yes, yes. Thank you, Devin. Thank you. That is amazing. Let's go ahead and sign off right now. We're dead we're done. that's That's it. That was a tough call though. That's tough. That was a good question.
00:18:13
Speaker
Yeah. What's your reason? what What's your logic behind that? I just love a metal. I just am all about the shiny hardware, I think. Good. I love it. And now I've got four people on my team. I know. Yeah. I do have to I love Devin's metal wall, which I've seen posts of it on Instagram. Oh my gosh, it's so cool. I like how she incorporates the bibs and everything.
00:18:32
Speaker
Goals. um Okay. all thing yeah So these are all would you rather questions, by the way. Erica's got the next one. All right. So on the half marathon distance, would you rather have no phone or no photo pass?
00:18:44
Speaker
Oh, no photo pass. I can't live without my phone. I'm all about the content all the time. So photo pass, some days are good. Some are not as kind to me. So I know my phone will always get it done. That actually is a really valid point because we've walked away from races where we're like, well, there's the one photo we got out of that. The rest of them, you're making a weird face or something. That's a good point. Yeah. yep All right. I got a tough one for you. I know you're a little bit of a Taylor Swift fan, slightly. And so here's here's the question. You're doing the marathon. You're doing dopey. The last character stop is Taylor Swift, the actual Taylor Swift.
00:19:18
Speaker
But the line is so long, you're going to get swept at the end of dopey. Do you stop and meter? Or do you skip on because you got to finish that dopey and get those medals? Okay. I am so confident in this answer. i will meet Taylor Swift and be swept.
00:19:33
Speaker
Okay. Really? Okay. Even though you just said you love a medal, you're you're all in. I do. But you know what? There is always more medals. There is always going to be more dopies. And Taylor Swift, you know, that's like a rare unicorn. So right I'm going to go. respect that answer. Okay. Yeah. i think I think everyone would probably choose that answer.
00:19:52
Speaker
After all those miles, 40, you're sitting at 47 something miles and you're going to just throw it away. It's Taylor Swift. Okay. Also, like Devin said, there's doping next year. I mean, that's great prize right there. Yeah, exactly. Next question. Marathon weekend. Would you rather run down Main Street or ride the ride of your choice during the race?
00:20:13
Speaker
I think Main Street because I can ride the rides during a regular park day. I think just Main Street is so magical and special. So I'll always take that. Yeah, I agree. Yeah. and We've never ridden a ride during any of the races. We've done the marathon a few times. We've never ridden anything during during it. So we need to we need to try sometime. Really?
00:20:31
Speaker
I got in line for Everest and um Tower of Terror this time. And they were both like 10 to 15 minutes, but I was just, I was starting to stiffen up in line waiting for like two minutes. So I jumped out, but I could have.
00:20:44
Speaker
Wow. Yeah, that's my biggest fear is like, is anytime I stand around too long, like I'm just, I start getting nervous about that. So yeah, i totally agree. And then sitting in Tower of Terror because it's just not comfortable. Well, neither is Everest, but I was slightly worried. So then I was like, let's not do it. yeah Yeah. All right. This is the last would you rather, and then we'll actually dive into today's topic. So here's your last would you rather. Would you rather let your spouse pack your bag for a run Disney race weekend? You cannot help at all.
00:21:12
Speaker
Or would you rather miss your flight and have to drive all night from where you live, Northeast, to make it to the race on time? No, I think Steve, I can confidently say Steve would pack me at least a few outfits correctly. So I'm going go spouse.
00:21:30
Speaker
What about you, Erica? You probably don't trust me with this one, I don't think. Yeah, I didn't think Yeah, I don't know. don't know. You'd rather just get in the car and drive? Come on. All you do is pick out the zippity tees. Oh, no, he would mess it up. um i I think you could you would confidently pack me what I need to run the race, but that's where it would end. No, that's where I would be so nervous because you're always like, grab the black one. It's on the left. And I go in and I'm like, oh my gosh, I have no idea what I'm doing in here. I'm going to just walk out. Yeah, that's true. Yeah.
00:22:02
Speaker
Oh gosh. Okay, cool. Those are our would you rather. Thanks for playing that fun game. That's how we love to get to know our guests. But we actually have to talk about today's topic. Yes. right and then And we teed it up at the very beginning. But what we're really talking about, Devin, is this idea that balancing life and training or life and run Disney and whatever, it's it's a lot. And you've got a lot going on, which is why you're exactly the person that we wanted to talk to about just balancing stuff. And you don't have to have perfect answers, by the way. Like like our big thing is we just like to talk it out and Sometimes there's a nugget in there that's helpful and sometimes, you know, we just blabbered on

Balancing Life and Training

00:22:34
Speaker
and on. So yeah, you ready to dive into that? Absolutely. Perfect. So talk to me about balance, just like in general, right? Like you've just got so much going on. You've got your Instagram presence and your podcast and your coaching and you've got Zippity DTs. And then like, I'm sure you have a whole personal life that we don't know about, right? Like how, like, what do you do to try and balance all that stuff? Oh, no life, no life outside of all that. Okay.
00:22:58
Speaker
Um, I mean, I try to look at it all is like integration versus separation. So balancing things like each one of my things that I do and I take on really helps propel me into the next thing.
00:23:14
Speaker
So just looking at it it's not necessarily like always even the balance, but at the same time, like what can I prioritize or what fits my end goal at the time and how I can use all of those things to help me get there. That's how I look at it.
00:23:27
Speaker
Yeah, that's awesome. How do you, how do you balance? Sorry, I'm sub question. You've got like a, like a public, you know, public display or whatever. ah How hell am I trying to say like people see you, you know what i mean? Where you've got to like kind of be on, you know what i mean? Like, how do you balance that then too, with trying to be an authentic coach and whatever, like you seem so authentic everything you do. Like, how do you balance that? Right. Like being in a public face and trying to be authentic with everybody. How how do you do that?
00:23:53
Speaker
I mean, I will say it's hard. Like there are days where I don't want to put on a face of makeup and look glamorous and everything. But I think that's the point, right, is we have to learn to not always be that way. And usually when we're not at our best, that's the most compatible and people really feel more attached to that. So if I can come across in that way, even better, but there are definitely times where i I don't want to make the real or I'm too tired, but then I just choose something else that brings me joy and happiness. And that's usually, honestly, my work and all of the different ways that I work. I just, you know, if one isn't fitting where I want it to that day, I always jump to the other and that brings me clarity. So if it's designing one day or just drawing for zip and I'm on a roll, I do that. And then I'm able to step away from some of the relationships and commitments I have as a coach. And that actually helps me calm down a little bit. And then I can jump to the other and be but be the best version of myself because I'm able to kind of take them and separate them as needed. But then again, like I said, integrate them. yeah So it all works so well together. And it has been for me, luckily.
00:25:04
Speaker
Yeah, it's kind of cool. You have like, um, because you're involved in things that are like totally different, like you have multiple outlets, which is kind of cool. Yeah, it's a lot, but it's, um, you know, I always love this thing. Like if you do something that you love, you don't have to work a day in your life. And that's how I feel every day. that's Awesome. That's awesome.
00:25:22
Speaker
Um, what's a challenging part of the training or the running that people don't talk about enough? oh man Well, I mean, i would say like the the middle part of it, right, in the training cycle. Like it's not the most glamorous. Sometimes I look at it as this is a weird analogy, but um like a turkey leftover turkey sandwich from Thanksgiving, right? Like you have so much of the meat and turkey, the bulk of your training in the middle But like in the beginning, you have like the bread, you're excited about the condiments, you know, whatever you put in that sandwich, like that's the registration. Then that's the the race itself is just like these finite little parts. But you have like the meat of that sandwich where it's not super Instagrammable or it doesn't feel great. But no one really talks about that being the hardest, like this, you know, sometimes the slowest or the driest or the most bland, but it's there and it's the biggest chunk of it. So
00:26:20
Speaker
I think dealing with that and proving to people that you can go through that, I think, is a vulnerable thing. And it's something that needs to be spoken of more. Yeah. Is that as a coach, is that where you see trainings fall apart? Is that middle section or where, you know, like, like what are what are the consequences of, of that, and that middle section?
00:26:37
Speaker
You know, i think people just get tired or they're trying to avoid burnout. And of course, like with dopey around the holidays, you see training kind of fall by the wayside. But honestly, some days it's just important if you can just lace up. and do one thing that is that involves movement, then if that's all you can do for that day, then that's totally, totally fine. Like I think people need to be less hard on themselves during that specific training time in the cycle of training. But yeah, I mean, you you kind of see it all over the place. It just depends too on each person individually. And that's why I really love
00:27:11
Speaker
customizing people's programs and also just really focusing on one-on-one as well as the group training, but really just meeting with people and talking to them in general just gives me such such a high and it's able to help me help you more. The more you can tell me, the more I can help you.
00:27:27
Speaker
So Erica and I've, um, struggled with, so we did marathon weekend and then we did Disneyland and we just are having a heck of a time getting back on track. You know what i mean? and And now we have princess this, you know, this week. And so ah you okay?
00:27:41
Speaker
Oh yeah. Are you okay? Yeah. Yeah. My foot's fine, but I, I've been dealing with a hip injury since like October. And even with the long break in the running because of my broken toes, my hip still is bothering me.
00:27:54
Speaker
So I think I need to go have a scan or something just to make sure there's no... like tears or I don't know what, but yeah, that's the biggest problem for me right now. Oh, I'm sorry. It's okay. I forgot about your injury, Erica, but even, ah even on your, you know, you got injury you going on too, but like, we just, you know, you get to this point where you're kind of like, you're either over, you're, you're, you're overextended or you're, you're tired or whatever, or you've got, or your motivation is just absolutely shot. Yeah. know what mean? I think that's something that, you know, people, I think we don't talk about enough. You and I talk about it cause we're married or whatever, but we just, you know,
00:28:28
Speaker
being authentic, you know, what do you call it? Open and and whatever about that with your coach or with your friends or with your running buddy or whatever, like try not to be perfect. You know what I mean? But like right now, like I went on a run today, man, I just hated it. yeah Just hated It was the worst. it was four miles and it was just the worst, you know? And so, um, how, how do you encourage people to, to you you literally, is that the answer? Lace up, you know mean? Just go out and and and do it. Is that, is that what you're, is that that what I heard?
00:28:53
Speaker
Yeah, I always think like movement is medicine. So whatever that looks like for you that day, and it's important to you to get it done. It doesn't have to, like you said, it doesn't have to look perfect. um But as long as you're doing something or if you have an accountability buddy or a coach that you just need to vent to, like that's what.
00:29:11
Speaker
Kristen and I are always here for first and foremost. Like don't feel like you need to be perfect and no one is. And don't compare your story or your chapter to someone else's. Yeah, we love that phrase. I don't know who said it, but you know, don't compare your beginning to someone else's middle.
00:29:25
Speaker
You know what mean? Like that that kind of thing, especially if you're a new runner. we We always say that too. Um, anything Devin, you're willing to share and, you know, obviously don't share anything you don't want to, but anything that's just been really hard for you in these 10 years, right. That you, you know, you had to overcome something, you had to push through, you had to do it like anything like that that, that we can kind of like ask you and learn from you. Anything.

Emotional Experiences and Community Support

00:29:47
Speaker
um Yeah, well, you know, there's always so many ups and downs. But um I mean, recently, the this most recent dopey training cycle, um my father had passed away at the end of August. so Sorry.
00:30:00
Speaker
Sorry. um But I kind of started um running just because... you know I wanted to, like I said, stay in shape and feel good. yeah um but he has suffered dementia from i amm probably like 2019. So it's just been a long...
00:30:19
Speaker
drawn out kind of grieving process for me. Yeah. i' Sorry. no no. But I mean, I would say, you know, days, certain days felt like therapy and others felt really impossible and that's okay. Yeah. um But yeah, I mean, it's something you have to face and it's something important to face, but you, you learn to live with grief and through any training cycle, like life still continues and you have to find your happiness and find what that brings. And Run Disney has been that safe space for me.
00:30:51
Speaker
Yeah. I'm so sorry. Sorry. No, don't apologize. No, it's okay. And Devin, you probably don't know this, but that's what I do for work is I work with dementia patients and that's such a rough road for, yeah, yeah, for their families. And so I'm so sorry about that.
00:31:07
Speaker
Thank you. And thank you for being so understanding and lovely. Of course. You kind of just tapped into this a little bit, but this whole idea of like the run Disney community, it's like, you know, it's, it's a family really. Um, what is the power of being a part of a community of like-minded runners? Like how, how has that helped you? Yeah.
00:31:26
Speaker
Oh gosh. Um, well, it's just built like so many good relationships. Um, And I encourage people to do like if you have a local running community or accountability buddy, someone you can, you know, rely on. And that has been the running community that is run Disney. Like I have made so many informed so many important friendships. um And even customers via zip and I just, you know, we we reach out, we talk on DM and then I see them at the race weekends and we get to talking more and it just becomes this thing. So, you know, there's just so many, even though running is such an individual, like solitary sport. It really does bring a whole lot of people together because everyone is fighting a battle, yeah you know?
00:32:07
Speaker
Yeah. So, um, like obviously you've like helped build community, right? Like with run fit fab and like just your, just everything you're doing, right? Like even like, i don't even call Zippity DT is a community, you know? Like, can you just talk, ah you have any examples, not not names or whatever, just like, like for someone who's new to this, like, and they think what, like that doesn't, that like what do you mean in a community? Right. Like, can you just give any, an example or two of just how somebody or a group of people have meant something to you?
00:32:35
Speaker
at first when I started doing these races, I really didn't know anybody. um My friend and I just went out on a whim and decided let's do a half marathon at Disney. It'll be fun. It'll be great. um But each year that I've come back, I've established more and more friendships and people being, I think, a little bit more open and vulnerable, not just on in social media, but also just in person. Like I have had really good, deep conversations about family, friends, relationships, um things outside of running. But people are just, I don't know, they maybe because they know me as Zip.
00:33:10
Speaker
They feel more comfortable coming up to me and I love that. So just anyone that's ever come up to me, i really just, I love it because I do just want to genuinely just know people, especially our customers. Like you bring us so much joy and we love when you guys tag us. Like we love seeing you guys wearing the medals, like Metal Monday and wearing our shirts. Like it never gets old. So I would say someone new to run Disney, wear the medals, celebrate yourself, but also celebrate those others around you. Like go through the parks wearing your medals, high five someone like no one will bring you down. Like everyone is there to boost you up.
00:33:47
Speaker
And that's why i love run Disney. And Disney is that magical place that I think brings the best people together. yeah hundred percent. Totally. Um, so we're talking about balancing life and all that stuff. So i kind of want to get to some suggestions or whatever. Um, like when you're, when you're not at run Disney, you're not wearing your metal. You don't have your zippity DTs shirt on getting your, your selfie with Devin. You know i mean? Like when it's really hard at home, you know, and that's the hard part, you know, you talk about the middle, um, motivation tips, anything, like anything you can give us where we're just like, man, I do not want to do this anymore.
00:34:19
Speaker
Like anything you can give us to kind of give us a kick in the pants. always stay motivated. ah There will come a time when I won't be able to do this, but today is not that day. Oh, yes. i'm going to go out there, it done the best way I can. And even lacing up when it feels heavy, it's still important to do. And it's going to come out in ways you might never think it will. Sometimes it'll present itself in a bad run, right? Like a four-miler. just like, I can't get this done today.
00:34:49
Speaker
But I did. I did it. I showed up. And even if it didn't look perfect or pretty, I still did it for myself. And that's what's important. So that helps me motivate myself just thinking of that. And then just, you know, listening to podcasts like you guys and Rise and Run and anything motivational or if it's an audio book or something you can relate to, jump to that always.
00:35:08
Speaker
Oh yeah, for sure. Yep. Um, you literally just answered my next question on the notes. So I'm going to skip the next one and let Erica keep going. I was going to ask you resources and you literally, you're so good at this. You like went right into it. So, so nice, nice job. And then, but, but I also don't want to skip over to like the fact that you are a coach, right? Like for, for our listeners that are like, Hey, you know, I, I need someone to guide me. If you need a coach, like, like explore what Devin and Kristen are offering. Like a hundred percent that that's my pitch for you. You don't, you don't have to add anything if you don't want to Devin, unless unless you're, unless you have anything to say, but I would say explore that for

Coaching and Future Endeavors

00:35:43
Speaker
sure. Cause I have, I have a coach, right. That guides me and the days that I don't want to do it. He's Australian, right? He's like, you better get out there and do it, mate. You know, like and I'm like, okay, all right, fine. I'll do it. So I have, having a customized plan is, because is, is a big deal. Yeah.
00:35:58
Speaker
Oh, it's a big deal. Yeah, it's great. And i also love coaches that you can either Zoom with or know in person because that relationship, and I know like everything is becoming so AI. And in a world of that, still establishing just a really well-connected relationship with your coach, I think is super important. So like I said, anytime anyone comes up to us, like we are there to help. And if you need to just vent or if you need to leave us a voice note when you're running. Like that's okay. There's the, the hype. What is it called? Hyper? hollaryper yeah wallerype yeah but um We just, you know, we just encourage people to like, again, and like find buddies within our community, right? There's the Facebook groups. um Kristen has dopey strong. Like we have our Instagrams individually, but also we have our Patreon group. And so if you need that special,
00:36:48
Speaker
group that you need to come to and chat with or just look for tips or tricks like we can be that for you and I think in a lot of ways a lot of run Disney people can be that for someone so never think you're alone by any means yeah in this community i I love how just genuine and authentic you are about it. Like, uh, this is one of the reasons we reached out and and said, Hey, would you be willing to come on the podcast? It's like the spirit in which you do that and help others comes through with what you do, I think, which is pretty great. Yeah. Thank you. i appreciate it Yeah.
00:37:17
Speaker
Um, so Devin, we've established that you can do a lot of things, the coaching and the clothing and the community building and all of it. Like what drives you to do that? Why do you do that? Because I love it all. Like there's, they're small little passion projects that like hobbies that just became my whole life really. Yeah. You know? Yeah. I love it. It's so fun like do the day to day, but it changes day to day and it keeps me on my toes. So whether I'm running or working, I'm just constantly like thoughts are firing. And when I'm running, some of my best zip ideas come out and I'm like, oh, wait a minute. I got to stop right on my notes app. I can't run and do my notes app. I've tried that. It's not great. But that's the beauty of it. You have so many outlets and I tell people try new things like try run Disney, try running a certain distance because you never know what can come of it. And good things will come of it if you put a positive attitude behind it and just go full force because why not?
00:38:14
Speaker
Life is about trying new things. Yeah. and being excited for new things. Totally. Yeah. I love that. Devin, what's something you're excited about right now? And you don't have to spill any secrets on on on Zip if you don't want to. Although although we will take the the secrets if you're willing to share them. But what's something you're excited about right now that you don't really get to talk about enough or no one asks about maybe? Well, I am excited for Princess, but I talk about that a whole lot. What else? so Oh, well, I'm doing the Chicago Marathon in October. So that'll my first marathon outside of Run Disney. Yeah, I'm excited.
00:38:45
Speaker
So it'll be great. I'm excited for that. I'm excited for I think we're going to travel a little bit more outside the Disney sphere. um So yeah, that's about it. But i i talk about anything and everything. So I really don't keep any much a secret. And it's hard to keep zip secrets, honestly, from you guys. It's very, very difficult for me.
00:39:03
Speaker
Yeah. Erica's always like, hey, there's a drop on Monday, blah, blah, blah, blah. like She's always, always, you know, on on top of it. She knows when it's coming. Yeah. there There may already be like a few alerts on the calendar already. So um so if you could only give one piece of a advice to a brand new runner, what would it be?
00:39:23
Speaker
Oh, um to romanticize it. Like get the cute outfit. Go out, have fun. Don't be so hard on yourself. Like run for the joy of it.
00:39:34
Speaker
Yeah. That's a really good answer. I like that. That's really good. For all those runners that are literally taking on princess this weekend, right? Whatever the distance is, you know, they, they come to your pop-up first while you run the 5k, they go to the pop-up, whatever. What's your, what's your, what's your word of encouragement, right? What, what what do you have to say to those that are maybe be taking on a distance they've never done? You know, what, what's your word of encouragement for those, those runners?
00:39:57
Speaker
I always bring it back to my favorite princess, my gal Cinderella. And I always say, have courage and be kind. Yes, absolutely. The the have courage makes a whole lot of sense. But if you've never done a run Disney, can you explain the be kind part?
00:40:09
Speaker
Yeah, just when you're out there, like look out for everyone, look out for yourself, but be open to finding and making new relationships, whether it's in the corrals, whether you're waiting for a bus or when you're running, like be that positive voice or light for someone if they need it. And i think that'll come back to you tenfold. Like karma comes around in a good way with Run Disney. And I think everyone's out there cheering and supporting each other on, whether it's silent or whether you're using your voice as loud as you can. Just be that light for someone else if they need it.
00:40:39
Speaker
That's really good. Thank you, Devin. Yes. Devin, is there anything that we missed that we need to talk about? Yeah, we want to honor your time, but is there anything you want to throw out there? um No, just look forward to more zip drops, pre-orders. And then if you can, if you are available to come to our pop-up,
00:40:56
Speaker
fantastic. If not, I understand it's a busy, crazy weekend and you know you got to do you and support all of the recovery time and the sleep and getting to the parks. I get it, but I'm telling you, princess is our best pop-up, so don't want to miss it.
00:41:10
Speaker
Are there any other dudes there or is AJ going to be like the only one? Yeah, that is a really good question. No, my husband actually is princess security, so he will be there. Perfect. We're going. on you have So there's one other guy. is what Is that right? Just there's just it'd be me and me and Steve. Is that what I what i understand? Actually, I see so many supportive husbands. And you know, it's really lovely is I'll get DMs from husbands or partners and they'll just be like, hi, I know this drop is happening, but can you help me? Like, how do I do this? Or my wife or my girlfriend really wants this this shirt. And how do I get one? It's so sweet. Like those just make me. Yeah, that's very so nice.
00:41:49
Speaker
yeah Yeah, that is sweet. And we know that's not me because I can't find my way around Erica's closet of stuff she already has. like We've just established that. Just go to the pink. Go to the pink. That's right. It's not really that. was like Literally in our office, we have like a hanging rack with just like all zippity-dee tees, my sparkle leggings, all of our my lounge flies. it's Anything in Sarah's Guide, yeah. Yeah. Usually I'm like, I don't have enough days to wear all the t-shirts. That's the problem. We need to like extend the vacation or something. Well, I always have to bring like an extra checked carry-on bag too, because it's just all the zip stuff. Right. Oh yeah. When we went to California a couple of weeks back, i I actually packed my um coast to coast. I have long sleeve and short sleeve of the same shirt. And so I was like, well, I'll wear this in the morning, long sleeves when it's colder. And then I'll put the short sleeve on in the afternoon. Oh goodness.
00:42:46
Speaker
I'm just going to let the two of you talk for a while. That is the best champagne problem I've heard. Thank you so much. Oh, man. Devin, this has been totally awesome to chat with you. Obviously, our topic was you know balancing life and all that stuff with with running. And I think you gave us some good, just helpful encouragement and motivation around that. So thank you for doing that. and We really appreciate it. um So for all of our friends out there, like just be sure to follow Devin on all the things fit fab dopey is the Instagram zippity DTS is the other Instagram. You want to follow the websites where you can buy stuff. We have that code one more run gets you 10% off. Uh, if you do that and then run fit fab. So we got it. We got all the things we need to follow if we already do, but if you don't follow those things, follow those. Did we miss any Devin? I think that was all of them, right?
00:43:33
Speaker
Um, well, my dog has an Instagram, but I haven't been locked out of that for a year or so. so don't worry about that one. That's fine. If you figure it out, let us know. Cool. Devin, thanks so much for being on the podcast. We really appreciate it. We appreciate every single thing that you do for this community. And we're so grateful to to get to know you now.
00:43:53
Speaker
Well, thank you so much. It was great meeting you guys officially. And thank you so much for supporting Zip and all of my things. And I just really appreciate being on here because I love your podcast. This was so fun. Thank you. Awesome.
00:44:05
Speaker
Oh my gosh, AJ, that was so much fun talking to Devin and she's just so sweet and oh yeah like so involved in so many things, but like so down earth. That's the thing you like that that we've just been so blessed to have some pretty amazing guests on the podcast. yeah And like, you know, you can tell when somebody is just like who they really are or whatever it is. And I think that's what...
00:44:29
Speaker
I mean, not trying to be weird about it or whatever. That's what inspires us to invite right these guests. And i I've expected every single one of them to say, thanks, but no thanks. You know, that they're busy. They've got tons going on. And she just so kind to say, yes, I'd love to come on and yeah and chat and to give us a discount code. Yeah, that was nice and Y'all should take advantage of that. Yeah. And then to, you know, even go another level deeper to just be open. Yeah. And, and you know, have have some vulnerability with us, yeah know, because we're all struggling with something. We've all got things going on. You know, we talked a little bit about that last week. So yeah anyway, what a joy to have her on the podcast. Yes. So

Race Themes and Registration Considerations

00:45:07
Speaker
great.
00:45:07
Speaker
Okay, so let's talk Run Disney News, Erica. The only real news item out, I guess, is that marathon themes are released. yeah The artwork has officially come out, so we kind of know what the vibe is going to be. yeah And the vibe is centered all around Donald Duck. yes um And I didn't know this, but it's an anniversary year for his race. ah Well, I guess it's Donald and Daisy's race, but yes it's his it's the anniversary of the half marathon. What are your thoughts on Donald before we get into like all the other characters? robert What are your thoughts on Donald being kind of the, you know, the center of attention? Yeah. So I'm not like anti Donald, but also not like a humongous Donald. sure I do really like the artwork of Donald and Daisy. I think it's super cute. If they're going to be the theme, I really like it. it It's very cute. Yeah, you know what I do kind of like? like With some of the language or whatever, they've said like you know ah Donald is having his limelight moment or something like that. You know in Mickey's PhilharMagic, and obviously other donald oh there Mickey cartoons, whatever Donald really wants to be more than he gets to be. right you know But Mickey is the main character, right? yeah So I guess they could probably have some fun with that. I really like the numbers and like the font that they used. It kind of gives like a throwback vibe. Yeah, very, very animation. I also really like um that Minnie has a giant hair bow for the marathon.
00:46:32
Speaker
um Last year, it was kind of hard to tell which one she was because she didn't have her hair bow in. She was wearing a crown or tiara. Yeah, and Mickey had a helmet on, so like it was just yeah a little bit a little bit harder to see her. And she's wearing her running shorts, so it' was kind of hard to tell, but she clearly looks like a Minnie Mouse um this year, which is awesome. And I think Daisy and Donald are super cute.
00:46:52
Speaker
So Amanda, once upon a marathon, Amanda pointed out on the run Disney like registration page for the goofy challenge. Like she pointed this, this thing out, uh, runners who register for this challenge made up of both the half and the full marathon will receive a special matter metal featuring goofy sharing the limelight with his buddy Donald who thinks the limelight is all his. Yeah. Interesting, right? Yeah. That the goofy metal might have a goofy and Donald. And Donald on it, yeah.
00:47:23
Speaker
Which I think could potentially spike the yeah interest in that. Absolutely. Like even though those aren't my favorite characters, like that actually, that little blurb on the website yeah kind of like got me a little tugged toward that, you know? Right. Yeah. And so anyway, I think it could be kind of cool to have Donald integrated and all in all the things. yeah If they just handle it well. If he's a character stop on every course or he's like always trying to take over the show with John and Carissa, know what I mean? I think anything like that would be fun. yeah I agree with you on artwork. I'm totally cool with it. What are you vibing with in terms of if we were to do Marathon Weekend, which we haven't made any decisions, if we were, like are there races where just based off the artwork or anything that you're like, oh, I'd love to do this or... You know, that could take it or leave it. Like anything.
00:48:13

yeah You're not committing to anything. Yeah. I would definitely do the half based on artwork alone. Okay. I clearly would, we we would always do the full. Yeah. Do you like the goofy challenge? Well, now that you just said that, like I know that you're going to want to do it for sure. No, that's not what I said. Do you? No, no. yeah yeah yeah no no no i heard that tone of voice i've known that tone of voice for almost 30 years now uh that is you want to do that because that's something unique that we have not done yet you could have a medal that has goofy and donald um but i'm asking you what collection you think oh yeah but look at how good the goofy artwork looks like that it looks like a little goofy movie almost oh yeah you know like that star vibe back there yeah we'll do that again I kind of have my eye on Goofy. I do not have my eye on Dopey in any way. No. Like, you know, we talk about it a lot in the podcast. It's a lot of running. It's a lot of money. And it's a lot of early mornings. Yeah. It's mostly the early mornings for me. But I got to be honest with you. Even this artwork doesn't inspire me as I'm looking at it. You know? like It doesn't.
00:49:16
Speaker
Oh, you like it? Different? I think that if I was going to do Dopey, I would be excited about that artwork for sure. Oh, okay. Cool. For sure. Much more than I've seen like in years past. Yeah. It is more subtle and not quite as neon. Yeah. No, I love it. like it It kind of reminds you of like old school. Oh, so you want to do Dopey? Yeah. No, I am not doing Dopey. Is that what I just heard? No, I'm not doing Dopey. You're interested in doing the No, I have absolutely no desire to do Dopey. I love my friends that do it. That's exactly what I was going to say But I just have no interest. I'm super impressed. um Pluto's not my guy, but that artwork is pretty great. really That artwork looks straight out of like, you know, when the Mickey cartoons would start. I was literally just going to say, it's like your favorite Mickey cartoons that we play in the Yeah. You know, like it started with this image, I feel like. Yeah.
00:50:01
Speaker
Anyway. Yeah. It's very cute. Cool. that's a our long roundabout way of saying that we're going to do the goofy challenge. I think that's what I heard you say. Yeah. ah by My preferential order, assuming registration and you know whatever we figure out about life, yeah I would go goofy challenge.
00:50:20
Speaker
just the marathon, just the half marathon, yeah probably nothing else. You know what I mean? Like, like, like if, if there, if registration started closing or that, you know those were open, that would be my preferential order based off of the artwork and whatever.
00:50:34
Speaker
But I do have to be honest with you. We ran the marathon however many weeks ago, I'm still exhausted and actually don't have like an interest in doing a marathon at all. And so I know that come June or July when, yeah when, um, what do you call it? Training starts. Right. I'll feel totally different about that. Oh, yeah.
00:50:52
Speaker
You know? Yeah. But right now i really could just use a few naps. Yeah. Oh, i I feel that deeply in my soul. um But I also- We've done Goofy before. It's fine. um You know what's tugging at me though right now? What? is Yeah, I'm not tired whatever, but like we just keep registering for races and like hoping you're going to feel better. Yeah, I was just about to say, like I can't even sleep on my right side right now. like My hip's killing me. so By the time this race, i surely we'll solved this by then. Right, yeah. But then a new thing, you know and whatever. And so- like
00:51:25
Speaker
I really want to do all the run Disney races. Yeah. Right. and we, we're not doing wine and dine, but like, I really want to do all of them, but I also really want to do them. No issue, whatever. Me too. Yeah. Like for you is what I'm saying. I think like a couple episodes ago, I said, i think my hip injury was worth it because of that proof of time I got. yes I'm, I fully am eating my words now. Yeah. I was like doing the math and I'm like, it's been since October that I injured myself. Yeah. I really need to go to the doctor, I think.
00:51:55
Speaker
Yeah. Well, go to the doctor, figure it out before March 17th or whenever registration is. all right, good. That way we'll know what our course of action is. I mean, surely if I stop running for like six months, I should be fine, right?
00:52:08
Speaker
I'm not putting anything past it. Who knows? Okay. All right. That's Marathon. Any other comments on Marathon? Nope. Okay. If you're registering for that or whatever, good luck with registration coming up here soon. But first, we got to get through Princess, which is this weekend. And um the only other news item I was going to say is that at Princess, we can we plan to go to the Rise and Run meetup. Yes. So it's Saturday. It's at 3 PM and it's at the food truck area at Disney Springs. I'm hearing Bob's voice in my head as I say this. Can't you just hear him say, you know, and if you don't know where that is, find the hot air balloon and turn, turn left. right I can just hear him saying it. Anyway, so i Greg on Rise and Run said that there's we don't we don't compete with each other, right? Like we love, we all love supporting each other. That's right. So what I would say is one, we're going because we love to support them and all that. But like, it's a good time. It is so much fun. Like the community is so great. Like it's just a fun time to get to see them and kind of everyone's excited about the race weekend. yeah So yeah, you should go. Yep. if youre Especially if you're coming and you don't have, um you know, like a- If you're there by yourself. Yeah. If you don't have a a full support system or you're just looking to meet people at all, right? Like you will walk away with new friends who are like-minded run Disney folks from the Rise and Run meetup. The community they've built is a whole nother thing. I don't even know how to describe it. And so we plan to be there and you should plan to be there too. That's right. Um, let's talk about, ah training updates, Erica. Uh, I think the only thing I have for training update is we have to run princess in two days, right? The training um training is kind of done. So it's princess week. Woo. Yeah. Hey, you know, are you feeling okay and ready? Or I know we said last week, like this is kind of, kind of just be a you know, we're to have a good time on the course. Yeah. You know, like that. I don't have any performance goals or anything for this race. You don't either. Right. Just survive the injury so that after this, you can go get some sort of scan or something. Right. Yeah. Yeah, exactly. This is our last race of the season, which is kind of sad because it's funny how like you build up, you build up and you just can't wait for race season, you know? Yeah. We had three weekends. We did. And then all of a sudden it's They by so fast yeah and none of it went according to plan, at least for me. And so right I don't know. It's crazy how it seems like it's never going to get here.
00:54:23
Speaker
And then it's all of a sudden gone. I know. Yeah. I wish, and I know why, but I wish they were just spread out a little bit more throughout the year, but yeah. Yeah. All right. So this is our last race of the weekend. So no, you know, once we, once we get past this, we'll figure out what's next for us. If you see us at princess, we said this at marathon weekend, if you see us, feel free to say hi. You absolutely don't have to. If you're an introvert and you don't like the idea of doing that sentence seems scary, you know, you certainly don't have to, but just know that we would absolutely love to encourage you. Um, we're not trying to be famous or anything like that, but we absolutely would love to just give you a high five, side hug. Yeah. hear what you're running for. You know i mean? Any of that, if you see us, say hi. Yeah. You know, we'd love to do that.

Erica, anything else before we call this one done? This was such a fun episode. Yeah. No, I'm excited. I'm i'm looking forward to the pop-up. You're going to the, you're going- We, we are going to the pop-up. I'm nervous. I got to be honest. I'm a little nervous about that. Like, it's not that I don't support. Like, I i fully believe in, like, I'm excited for it but it just seems like I'm going to be out of place, but she said I'm not.
