Let's do it. Yes, yes, I'm excited. All right, let's get into it. I will explain explain the games as we go. First off, we're going to have three debate topics now the twist here is we are all going to vote on who won the debate
Speaker: And you cannot vote for yourself. So we ensure fairness. oh and a winner and the first topic shout out stranger things and everybody else tuned in on youtube salute uh flo you can still uh attach your channels too i think um if you're if you're on there now, if it's letting you.
Speaker: Okay. Yeah. All right. Cool. Cool, so we are going to do our... College football, NFL best games of the week. favorite games whatever it was for these panelists now in order to do fairness Because last week I just gave it to Bobby G first.
Speaker: and he had the Michigan -Western -Michigan game, which was the obvious answer. I feel like that's not fair to the three of you. There's got to be ah some fairness here. so i'm gonna Give a number out from one. to a hundred Whoever gets the closest gets to go first. So go ahead, AP, what's the number?
Speaker: Hmm. $1 ,200? 67. Flo, you? Oh, get out of here, AP. Go.
Speaker: Yes, sir. 84. Cam, what you got? 19. 19. The number I was thinking was 33. Canteen, you were going to go first. AP, you second. No, you will be going last, my friend.
Speaker: And StrangerThings likes your comments. All right, cool. That it worked out then. All right, Canteen, you are up first. What was your best or favorite college NFL game?
Speaker: man I got to go with the Texas -Ohio State game, man. Mmmmm! That's why I did the number choosing because I figured that was probably going to be the pick of everybody. so ah Man, when you look at that that that that the breakdown of that game, man... um I mean, it was crazy, man. that that Texas pulled off.
Speaker: One of the greatest comebacks that ever happened in college football. For those guys to rally from a 23 -3 comeback. What? I think it was crazy, man.
Speaker: Texas scored 21 unanswered points. In the fourth quarter, man. Uh. Um... The game went to touchdown. One -yard run by Hollywood Smothers. But let me hit some numbers real quick.
Speaker: Ohio State 372 total yards. Texas, 336 yards. 19 first downs, Ohio State 20. Bob, um... um First down, Texas. one turnover Ohio State, two Texans.
Speaker: Possession of time 28 by 2830 for Ohio State. uh 31 28 for um for Texas. All right, so Manning had a pretty decent game, 23 -37, 195 yards, one team, one interception.
Speaker: Hollywood Smothers, 21, Perry, 74 yards, two TDs, Emmitt Mosley. 5K through 65 yards. Julian Sayers, 17. ah For 32, one TD, one interception. At the end of the day, man, I got to say this right here.
Speaker: Ohio State made a lot of... Heroes. When you have The game that's in your hand. Play to win. Play to win. Play to win. Don't error. Play to win.
Speaker: Texas came back. Texas won the game by one point. That says a lot about Steve Sarkeesian sees Steve Sarkeesian and his organization. I will say this about Sark. so do Do interviews, man. Interview at the end of the game.
Speaker: Show some class, interview, be respectable, carry yourself, conduct yourself right. You're in the SEC. You're in the Southeastern Conference. So carry yourself in such a way Be respectable, but I think that was the game of Saturday.
Speaker: Hey, shout out to a Texas for winning that game. Great game, guys. It wasn't great. I mean, look, man, if if if you were not... Shot. shocked that that comeback happened. I don't know who you are because even as a sports fan, I watched that whole game and I was just like, damn.
Speaker: It sucks, man. i just I was watching the Texas and Ohio State fans in front of me. They're friends and they're... Tried to battle. I just saw the Texas guy just like sad, and depressed the whole time. I was like, damn it, come on, Texas. And then... they did it you know i had i was like there's no way they're gonna come back and they He came back. It was crazy.
Speaker: yeah No, that that was definitely one of my biggest games of the weekend. Obviously, we had a lot of NFL games that were really big, too. but that was definitely one of the biggest college ones. AP, who you got?
Speaker: I'm actually going to go with a different college game, and I think that was it was more it was more meaningful then. texas ohio state because yes you've got two top five teams you got a really great comeback But you also had a team that entered into this. entered into their game last saturday on a 12 -game losing streak they had one against FBS competition in over two years.
Speaker: And... And... The first time they win a game, this is the first time in history we saw a team that had a 10 -plus... game losing streak.
Speaker: Mmm. And they beat and they break it by beating a top 10 team. Of course, I'm talking about Oklahoma State beating. Oregon this past Saturday. and I don't mean...
Speaker: Honestly... It shouldn't have even been been this close because Oregon got... boat raced as far as the stats go. They got doubled up in every category. Doubled up in yardage, doubled up in first downs, doubled up in...
Speaker: almost ah if not for the two turnovers this is not even a close game Like... I'm a little worried about Dante Moore. I feel like he's starting he started to regress a little bit. and and And I understand people's concern was like, oh, well, you know. they Boise State was just Boise State. It wasn't that.
Speaker: But now they lose to a team that hadn't won an FBS game in almost two years. and That's crazy. it's it's it's crazy to even It's crazy to even think about it. they dominate Oklahoma State dominated time and possession.
Speaker: if you miss the maker was what be what played like we thought he was going to play this year for Oklahoma State. And again, Something's wrong with Oregon. I don't know about you guys, but something is just wrong with Oregon right now. And it seems like...
Speaker: You know, once they hit into Big Ten play, they could be in trouble. They may not even be ah in the in the conversation for. uh, a playoff spot let alone even the big 10 title game after and after this loss so Um...
Speaker: I thought it was very entertaining, yes. and Keep in mind, this was also a revenge game, too. There was a revenge factor because of what Dan Lanning and Oregon did to Oklahoma State last year in Stillwater, put up 63 on them.
Speaker: Uh... was the game that got Mike Gundy fired. It was the game that got Mike Gundy fired. so Um, This was a big, big -time revenge win for Oklahoma State. I think that's got a lot more impact. Yes, I get it. Texas came back, and that was a...
Speaker: a great finish for them. but the fact that a team that hadn't won an fbs game uh, in literally almost two years. yeah Their first win in that span was against a top 10 team. It's something that we've never seen in college football before ever.
Speaker: That's a little bit of ah of a high testament. So kudos to Oklahoma State. Hey, you going with the the impact pick lends to my analytic side of things, so I like that. Shout out Shane Peach.
Speaker: Y 'all check out Sunday Showdown. Tap in and join in live. ah Him, Clever D, and Dirty Mojo, my brothers. He says Oregon always chokes. They are always put in the top 10 because of Phil Knight effect. It's annoying to me. Yeah, they're always going to be ranked high as long as they have good players. And ah in a highrated highly rated quarterback like Dante Moore. Yeah, you're right. They're usually always ranked. These teams that are perennial.
Speaker: Um... you know, blue bloods and they were when they had those all those years of playing really well and it's it's extended. and you know that's that sometimes happens you're right about that but and anyways ah Go ahead.
Speaker: And also... the the fact that that people thought this was just going to be another blowout too because of the point spread and everything and Oklahoma State's coming off a loss to Tulsa.
Speaker: ah a disappointing loss to tulsa so they were basically given no chance so yeah That factors into it as well. You told us that before the show, and i and and yeah, when you caught when you do the combo of those sorts of things, it definitely matters.
Speaker: No! What was your game of the weekend? Oh man! Yeah, I could have gone a lot of ways. um' I'm gonna change it up a little. Since they both went college, I'm going to go NFL.
Speaker: All right. I could have gone Cardinals charges because that was – That... Cardinals is one of my picks to win 10 games. Dang. That is true. And it looks good right now, beating the Mighty Chargers. But pick I could have gone, you know, I could have gone Bills, Texans. That was an exciting game.
Speaker: ah you know, Finally, uh... Allen had a good game against the Texans, you know. But... ah You know, kind of spur the moment here. I'm gonna go...
Speaker: Saints versus Lions. A thriller. 31. Oh, and the overtime. A game that goes into overtime. A game that the Lions were up 21 -0.
Speaker: 21 -0. Tyler Shuck. Mmm. Come What had a 37. 6 .1 rating in the first half and ended up with 120 .3 rating in the second half.
Speaker: Throwing for over 410 yards. And three touchdowns in the second half. ah make it into into a thriller, and even even a bigger thriller. I disagreed. I thought myself they should have gone for the tie. and gone for uh you know overtime and just gone for the second overtime but they go for it on the on the On a... On a two -point conversion, a la the Lions head coach, you know, always going for two points, kind of putting it in his face.
Speaker: on the road trying to give it back to him and so tyler shuck showing who he was he he had through 56 times In that game, she kind of I played ah golf. For the most part, golf only had 200 yards.
Speaker: and a couple of touchdowns, but Jameer Gibbs was the big workhorse, 156 yards, two touchdowns. He's the one that really carried the team. on the ground. A great game. Looked like it was going to be a blowout, but then all of a sudden... All of a sudden, the Saints get back into the game. And they give it, bring it into overtime. they the And then the the fact that the Lions scored first, a touchdown.
Speaker: The Saints came right back. and scored a touchdown. ah to tie it up and then going for it on. for a two -pointer in the last game, but coming up a little short. Man.
Speaker: it was just like one of those games where you're just like i can't believe this is happening uh this the lowly saints no one picked i don't know know if anybody's picking the saints to win that division And the Lions are supposed to win their division. So just the fact that we're down that far and then they came back.
Speaker: Being a team that's been kind of lonely. Like like a low lowly team, you know, a team that's kind of been at the bottom of their division, you know, kind of fighting just for third or last place to come back on the mighty Lions.
Speaker: and almost win that game. That's got to be. the game. home. THE WIIII -
Speaker: Frog Dweller. Yo, it has been years since I have heard that. It's been years since I've heard that. um One thing, though, and there is a correction that Shane Petra has for you. That was that was a good throwback.
Speaker: Good nostalgia. There is no second OT. So it would have ended in a tie. So that is correct. going for the win. There does make sense. I don't have a problem going for the win. What I have a problem with, tell it more. Let me talk to you.
Speaker: yeah As L .A. Knight would say real quick. Why the heck? It's your play call. A BACK - shoulder fade to the corner of the end zone. Yeah, the Blake Hall was nice. With no room to catch the ball.
Speaker: Come on, man. You're trying to get the win. Go for it. Let's have more high percentage probability of completion. And that's not going to do it. Unless you ca - and then you don't even throw it to Chris Olave! If you're gonna do that - At least don't decrystallize it, okay? Or damn, just... Devon Billy. Okay? Somebody other than a rookie receiver.
Speaker: Give him a chance. Give it a chance, man. Hated that play call. I hate when they do that play call. Even when they do it on third down, I hate it. I'm just like don't do Ah! You only have two chances. Do something guaranteed.
Speaker: Shout out Fade Loves Nature. We appreciate you tuning in. Y 'all tapping with them. Rock Chalk True Crime, the best true crime podcast. on YouTube. Clever D says the Hokies. They did win. Gone 2 -0 with James Franklin. franklin hamer d hu me They don't yeah don't look bad.
Speaker: They don't look bad. yeah um All right. Cool. So let's go ahead. We go around the horn. AP, who do you think? had the best argument.
Speaker: And as much as... i I would like to agree with Ken. I will never pick Texas in anything. Because that's who I root for, so I'm going to go with Flo. And that's part of the game. Screw the other guy. That's part of the game. Come on, Ken, don't let me down. Flo, who you got?
Speaker: Um... Man.
Speaker: I... I actually like the the Hokies game. I think that was that was a good game. ah You know, the fact that things happen that's never happened before I think that's... That's pretty interesting. I like that.
Speaker: But I'm going to have to say, ah man. Come back like that from Texas. I expected and as soon as Texas got down, and I hate Texas, too. You know that. I got the Texas Tech. But to come back from that, finally.
Speaker: A Manning? Or Arch Manning. For you know all the letdowns that he's given to this team, he finally brought them back and got them a victory over our number one team. After being down like that, I just think that's the...
Speaker: That's got to be the game. There, I gotta go with Can. Yeah, as much as I love the Impact AP, and you're right, that was that was very much Impact. That's not what's moving the needle. What moved the needle this weekend? was the Texas -Ohio State game. And I get what you're saying. I love the analysis. I love the you know ah team that hasn't won in two years beating the top 10 team. But no one's talking about that today. All people can talk about is Texas' comeback over Ohio State.
Speaker: i agree with canteen canteen gets the first point of the show All right. Good job, Kanchi. Who did Kanchi get to vote? you but a kingle Who did you have?
Speaker: No, no, so I'm - It doesn't matter. but this I mean, this is a crazy thing, but i'm ah um' a but the reason I want to vote for AP is this, man. Because a lot of people don't notice. Wow. Listen to what I'm telling you. Ian Cunningham and Matt Ryan.
Speaker: We're at the OSU. Oregon game. Looking at quarterback f prospects. A lot of people don't know that. He didn't even bring that up though. No, no, no, no, but what I'm saying is that's that's one thing i that i know I know he didn't bring it up.
Speaker: But me being a Falcons fan, I'm like... I'm thinking about what we need and what we're trying to do with our organization. But that's something man that's that's some major being in the situation that we're in for our team. so Flo said he liked the VA Tech Game Club. Hey, Peach, while I'm seeing him talk, I was about to say, Flo, you can't vote for someone that's not on the program at the time. Yeah. Hmm? Yeah, the the Longhorns, hey, they pulled it out. but it was it was very very very close and again amy
Speaker: If it would have been any other game you were going against, I would have chosen you. I do like the impact. but Yeah, that was the one that everyone's still talking about right now. Ciao. All right, cool. Let's move it on to the next debate. Look, this is ah is actually wrapped up a little bit last week, but the reason I want to bring this up is because there is still potential for this to happen further on in the season. um Obviously, LSU and Lane Kiffin.
Speaker: We're recruiting. Former players that Lane Kiffin had at Ole Miss, these players had been in NFL training camp but did not make the team, but had fifth -year eligibility from the COVID ruling. So there is still a potential that Lane Kiffin can still do this. If injuries happen throughout the season or some other team might try this. Also, I bring this up because now with fifth year eligibility in college. football. uh now there's gonna be players that come along they're gonna say okay well i wasn't grandfathered in why don't i get an extra year or
Speaker: whatever it is that can happen throughout these new and you know the new era that we're in of college football. So what I'm asking here is, is I want to know Is this something that could actually happen?
Speaker: Or is this just an overreaction by the people? Is it overreaction or is it reality? Can Lane Kiffin and LSU or other teams actually make this? Work. the lawyer for the plaintiff. that got it um Because the LSU judge said that he allows it to happen. The plaintiff is saying that these players...
Speaker: didn't even make any money in training camp one got like 190 dollars for some food or something i don't even know and that they deserve to come back if they still have the eligibility which they do So around the horn, is this an overreaction or reality? We will start with you, AP.
Speaker: I mean... It's an overreaction. It's not going to happen. I don't think it will because... then you know ENCA is firm on making sure that it does not happen.
Speaker: um I know Lane Kiffin's, and you started to see it, Lane Kiffin's starting to bow down. A little bit. Now, after after what we saw this past week, they need didn't play any of those players, and now it might look like these guys might get cut off the roster. So... um I think... Lines.
Speaker: really He realized he's in a bit of a hot water. He kind of kind of spoke a little bit to... Too highly. um and realizes He really doesn't even need these guys. um Because of you know look at what he did to Clemson.
Speaker: which Look at what he did to Clemson. so um Yeah, I think this is just called smoke the mirrors. I think the NCAA is just going to be like, Like. It ain't going to happen.
Speaker: i don't I don't care what you think what you say. and i And the thing is with the whole LSU thing, I know that the the governor runs that. organization, they run that college and whatnot. Um... Hmm. But... here's the thing Greg Sankey is going to be Greg Sankey. He's going to keep – he's going to be – put his foot down and say, absolutely not.
Speaker: so So are you saying the Louisiana judge may have been a little biased in this? I very much so, yes. ah um um' I'm thinking.
Speaker: Look. ah and it makes sense too because as if you leave college Why would we let you back in? Well, they didn't make the team. Yeah, then you make a team. fifth year eligibility so why of why would they be able to go back jesus Oh, you didn't make the NFL team. Too bad. I was just saying. You've been making NFL team. Well, too bad. Keep trying.
Speaker: Like, okay that's it this this isn't a pick. This isn't a hand -me -out league. this isn't a hand -me -out world you don't get a second chance just because you didn't play good enough And that's how it used to be. i mean once And and and once you' been again...
Speaker: That was it. And again, like... If these guys were good enough to be on this team... They should have been playing against Clemson. but i mean And if Lane Kiffin actually had the balls to back up his...
Speaker: His bravado. He would have played these played those kids against kill its Clemson. But he didn't. No. Yeah, the SEC came out with ah you know some very harsh.
Speaker: potential penalties. For any team that tried this, and you're right, AP, that's when he kind of backed down a little bit. But I will tell you one thing, as being a Lane Kiffin hater,
Speaker: for about all the time that he has been in the football world. I can tell you that he will try to cheat. finagle and be shady about every little thing he can.
Speaker: Which is why Al Davis brought a damn projector out on his ass when he fired him. And he still deserved it to this day. Screw Lane Kiffin. and everything he tries to do. That's just a personal opinion. Flo, go ahead.
Speaker: So are we saying that it was overreaction to what he was trying to do or reality? Are we saying specifically about Lane Kiffin or however we want to go with it? No, you can go wherever you want to go with it. Wherever you want to go. Okay.
Speaker: Uh... This is reality guys. Come on. ah Everybody, when NIL came around, they thought, we can't do that, you can't do it.
Speaker: it was already happening in these big programs they were paying these players everybody knows it everybody was paying these players and it's like you can't do that you can't start paying players This is not professional. Whenever all these big programs who are crying now.
Speaker: We're paying these players, all these big power... Uh... Teams were paying the players. And so all this is an extension of that. Only 1 .4 % of NCAA football players make the NFL anyway. And when these guys are done in college, that's it.
Speaker: If they can go back and finish one more year eligibility, man, give these kids another chance. Make it a little money on NIL now that they can make some money. These kids are not going to make it in the NFL probably. Or maybe they have a great year and a breakout year and maybe someone. drive somebody.
Speaker: Or or they they make a team the next year. Give these kids a chance. They're not going to play very long. they're gonna play most Like I said, 1 .4 % make it. And so why not give these kids another chance?
Speaker: at you know getting some money and making a little cash and this may be their last year ever playing any kind of sport or or football where they get paid So this is a reality, guys. This is this is where it's going. It's going to go that way. People are going to push it even further. Kiffin tested the rules, and he folded to conference pressure.
Speaker: The conference was not going to kick out LSU. We know that. But still, they tightened the screws. and and he kind of But this is going to happen in the future, and it's reality. That's where we're going.
Speaker: Woo, and Kenneth Walker with a 60 -yard run. Kansas City opens up a 14 .3. I need like 20 points.
Speaker: There you go. Hey, he's on one of my fantasy teams too. ah He's going to be a good one this year. yeah And everybody, I want you all to recognize, that's what I know most of y 'all are back to watching the NFL game. We're going to do a little, we'll be running, we'll be talking about it while it's going on. So we'll be giving you some live commentary, but also.
Speaker: uh just notice that flo is wearing a chiefs jersey even though he's a cowboys fan canteen What do you think about this topic? Man, so here here here's the thing, man. Name, image, and likeness, that's that's a big deal.
Speaker: But you gotta look at, um... Lane Kiffin built the number one class that was in the transfer portal. He ended up grabbing Sam Jordan Seaton came from Colorado. Sam Levy came from Arizona State.
Speaker: Prince Will, you may, yeah you may 11 came from the edge rusher that came from Ole Miss. He brought Ty Benfield from Boise State. Eugene Wilson, the wide receiver from Florida. So here's the thing, man.
Speaker: It's all about negotiating and being able to play chess. Not checkers play chess, damn it's a move. negotiate to move the right players and the right people at the right time i think i think um what he did What he did and what he is doing is is relevant and what he's done is going to be great.
Speaker: The thing about bringing those guys back, once you go to the once you go to the National Football League, I think that's it. Once you've been to the league, once you've played 14, once you've tried out 14, once you're on the team roster, I think that you've already done the ultimate thing. You've made a team roster.
Speaker: That's it. I don't think you should bring these guys back. If you haven't made it, if you haven't... achieve your ultimate goal. But before leaving college, If you haven't gotten your degree, And if you haven't done everything that you're gonna do, before you leave college.
Speaker: Then that's it. You leave in college, you you're thinking that you're going to go get drafted. then go get drafted. go Go give your best shot. But these guys... the Transfer report, I have nothing against it.
Speaker: I have nothing against what Lane Kiffin has done, but these guys, they should have never been brought back. And I have no objections. if if if if If the SEC wanted to put Lane Kiffin out for this,
Speaker: wrong doing to put them out. but They weren't going to. No, but... no that I think it's more... No, go ahead. They weren't going to put him out because... it's um It's a money thing. LSU, moneymaker. Alabama, moneymaker. Georgia.
Speaker: You have to look at your heavy hitters that are going to generate revenue. That's going to bring in the money. One of the big games. College game day this week is with the Wizards. Where is college game day going to be this week, fellas?
Speaker: Ole Miss. Revenue, that's that's what we have to think about. So... I object to bringing the guys back. I like everything else, but don't...
Speaker: Once you decide that you're going to go and declare for the drought. Make that decision And go. Don't come back. And also, I think a lot of people are upset.
Speaker: um because of the can of worms. that is now opened from this. Because now you're having... other people thinking all over, well, maybe I can exploit this rule in my sport. It don't even have to be football. It could be tennis, it could be baseball, whatever. But football is king, you know that, Omar. I get that. I get it, but I'm just saying. Like, it could happen anywhere and you possibly are opening up. a bag of worms i think that's why most people are up in arms about is what i'm saying um Right. But anyways.
Speaker: Alright AP, who do you think won that argument? I'm going to go with Cam because he essentially said the same thing I did. Good night. there you go that's another way good way to do it float What's up?
Speaker: Uhhh... I'm going to go go with with with AP since he said it first. I'm going to go with him since he was the first one to say it. ca got the the first shot at what he had to say last time, so he kind of got the advantage.
Speaker: I'll go AP. He was more. on point on this one, I think. Ken, who you got?
Speaker: AP, you good, bro. Yeah, no, I'm not gonna lie. AP, you got it. Kanteen said a second and he added on to it, gave some good points. about being IL. And I agree with you both. It used to be once you declared. That was it. there That was it.
Speaker: There was no, you had it once you, if you declared. and put your name in that draft and you didn't take it out by the time the draft was you were in and you had you were done for and you had yeah so um i agree with ap i think that And you, I think that it's just opening a can of worms that doesn't need to be open and making. Uh... things more harder and more difficult.
Speaker: on a college football NCAA system that doesn't even have control of itself right now. The NCAA is upset trying to make this new rule where they're bringing you know Ted Cruz on game day to talk about the new Protect College Sports Act that they have.
Speaker: Um... only to to find out that there's a lot of things that... are kind of you know just up in the air about all the things in that bill going there It probably will.
Speaker: It probably will. But the problem is, why am I going to trust a corrupt? lying organization like the NCAA. That's like you're telling me to trust FIFA or telling me to trust the Olympic Committee. The NCAA can't really enforce anything. They don't really... You can't enforce anything in the football anyway. But with this Protect College Sports Act, they would have more rule over things.
Speaker: is what I'm saying. So... But anyways, okay, cool. Well, that goes to two points for the unanimous. it's like It's like trying to get a dog that's killing chickens to quit killing chickens. It's not going to happen.
Speaker: It's not. yeah You kill the dog you will I did. it So just kill the NCAA altogether because that's not pretty much where it's headed.
Speaker: Bam. That's what I'm saying. They should have a long time ago. if you ask or Or have a new body that actually has some teeth. Yeah, that's true. But at this point, I don't think there's anything you can do like that that would actually be able to be done without. You know, because now the players have um you basically a union now that's that's being formed on their behalf, like a players association.
Speaker: So they're definitely going to be fought back by any of those sorts of things that happen. Hmm. All right, unanimous two points for AP. All right, cool. So let's move it on. NFL week one explosion. Wow.
Speaker: Six teams in the first half of games had over 24 plus points. 10 teams. had over 30 -plus points for the full game. And...
Speaker: if you took it up to 27 and included my Raiders! Cheers. Poop, poop, poop. You would have. 14 teams over 27 points.
Speaker: Now! They have a chance. to break the record. The record is 691 points. total scored back in 2012. They started today.
Speaker: with 650 points. That means this game needs to have 42 points. and they are currently at 28. So all they need is 15, 14 more points. to break the record.
Speaker: Two more touchdowns. Two more touchdowns. So... I mean, this is crazy. you know We'll start with you, Flo, this time. uh is this is this a real is this overreaction is it reality is this a permanent offensive explosion or is it just uh you know a slight beginning of the season trend
Speaker: All right, guys. ah I think this is just a slight beginning season ah trend at the beginning, right? I think that the week one scoring, it's always inflated a little bit. You you know, the Bears and the Panthers scored 96 points out of, you know. They scored the most.
Speaker: And so expect I think you expect some regression. um You know, even even in your... in your um what is it called, the team practices that they have, joint practices, they were emphasizing an ah offense. So the defense is going to be ah naturally behind. The defense can't hit anybody. they ah They protect the quarterback. So the offenses have more.
Speaker: uh practice really because you know you're you're trying to protect those skilled players And so... Um... The league's been kind of going higher and higher gradually as it is anyway.
Speaker: ah So treat 30 plus points is more common. It's not necessarily the new the new floor, but I think it... It's going to have some regression. The defenses are going to catch up. There's going to be more film and the defenses will be able to come back and start to catch up. They haven't been able to tackle.
Speaker: uh as as much you know because you know nobody tackles the starters don't tackle starters don't play on preseason. But some of these joint practices are the only times you can really tackle. And even then, they they protect ah you know the quarterbacks and things like that. And so you can't go full speed and until you actually get into the games. And so now, as we're getting into the games. I think the defense is slightly behind. The offense has always been emphasized by the NFL. The offense is always doing rules to protect.
Speaker: you know offense you know to have more offense because office is always more exciting so the nfl kind of leans towards that direction. But I think now that you'll see more and more defenses starting to see film, starting to be able to get out and really hit.
Speaker: and really, really go full speed. I think you're going to see a little bit of regression. And I think this is just a little overreaction. I don't think this is reality. I think it's going to come back to down to earth over the next week or two.
Speaker: and god No, and you're right about one thing. They're not hitting as much in preseason games, and the starters aren't even playing you know deep into preseason games. like They used to play the second half of a full game. They're not even really doing that anymore. So, yeah, you're right about one thing. That's definitely going to – you're going to need time to acclimate.
Speaker: to get caught up on on speed. Uh... And team, what you got on this? All right, man. So what I want to... Are you able to hear me, Professor? Yes, sir. I got you. Yeah, so so so my my biggest thing is I want to hit this right here, man. I just want to hit.
Speaker: There are four things I want to capitalize on this point, man. on The Bills. They were the most impressive team to me when when you look at the teams that were impressive throughout the throughout the first the first week.
Speaker: um they were They were the number one team in power rankings. they Josh Allen was able to shred up. the Houston Texans, and then their offense looked explosive. and balance and then when we look at the bears The Bears were the number one Weak high team. They scored 59 points.
Speaker: I mean, Caleb Williams looked like an MVP candidate, and then they they made the biggest of MVP. statement of the weekend and then when i look at the ravens The Ravens were able to dominate both sides of the ball.
Speaker: Lamar Jackson and... Derrick Erie were both explosive on both sides of the ball. And then they won by 18 points on the road, man. And then lastly, ah the 49ers, man. I tried to make this point to flow.
Speaker: Lothar was crazy for making this point the other night. But I told you when a team is well rested. I mean, rest means a lot to me. A team that travels within a few days and not well rested, but a team that is well rested.
Speaker: A team that was able to win 27 -7. That's anomaly. Press the highly -tuted round scene. The defense looked elite with a 20 -point differential flow, 20 -point differential. One of the biggest week one surprises, guys. And then lastly.
Speaker: Lastly,
Speaker: The biggest week one margin in AFC.
Speaker: Jacksonville Cooks! Mmm! They cook. Mm -hmm, sure did. Yes, they could definite did. But it's not reality. The Jacksonville defense overwhelmed the Browns.
Speaker: And I'll say this right here. I think that Jacksonville may be an early favorite. I just said an early favorite, early favorite. That's what I got, guys. So do you think that this will continue?
Speaker: Hmm.
Speaker: let Let me hold what I got because I got a surprise for you when we make our other picks later on in the show. All right, AP, what you got on this? So this is essentially what it's come down to with with the the early part of the season. is Yes, we see a lot of offensive explosion. Yes, we see a lot of... ah of great uh great offensive minds you know getting to flex their muscles a little bit but essentially the first four weeks of the of the regular season have essentially become an extension of the preseason
Speaker: Because as we talked about earlier, Nobody's really playing. Nobody's really playing. A lot of guys are rusty. A lot of guys don't look like they're in sync. A lot of guys don't get real time. practice.
Speaker: real -time game experience with each other. I mean, look at our defense last night. They just looked like... a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off for a majority of that game. It looked like that not the Giants running up and down the field on the on the bills in the Super Bowl against us.
Speaker: Damn. yeah That's, that's, that's Yeah, that's what that felt like. And then it was a it was a great day for a lot of the new head coaches as well. I mean, John Harbaugh in New York, who I already talked about.
Speaker: Uh... Yo. Flo, I think you brought up Arizona earlier. Mike LaFleur winning. He's the first Arizona head coach. To win his coaching debut since... Opening game.
Speaker: to win his opening day winning his opening day game since Don Correale back in 71. it's been that long Um... So kudos to him. I mean, Omar, you're Raiders.
Speaker: well -coached team against a poorly coached team. miamis miami might Miami might not win a game this year. so Really? That's what you think? Yeah, Miami night might not win a game this year.
Speaker: ah Cleveland might not win a game this year um if they keep the shot. You would have thought Arizona would not win a game. but i yeah they This was a fun week. and Yes, you want to kind of see a little bit more offensive explosion because that's just what the NFL wants.
Speaker: i think it'll balance itself out we've already seen some some defenses did have good performances again bring up the giants the giants had a great defensive performance against us last night um use yeah you know There was a few others. Arizona. We scored both times in the second half.
Speaker: we had the Both times we were on the... Yeah, we just did it. yeah We didn't get it on the tour yet. Arizona's defense. That's a that's a shocker. Nobody what saw that coming. got it um So got to give them kudos. So there has been good defensive play. But again, this is just an extension of the preseason. And all the team, really, if you look at it, all the teams who were playing their starters because it was an open competition for a majority of their camps.
Speaker: are the teams that had the most success. The Jets, the Giants, the Cardinals. ah Your Raiders. All these teams that were in. Big time competitions, even Chicago for a little bit had had played of their starters more than everybody else.
Speaker: the teams that played their starters the most in the preseason are the teams that had success And again, another point that Cam brought up. 49ers, well -rested in Australia. That's what you're supposed to do when you go cross the world.
Speaker: Thank you. This isn't isn't cross -country. I've been across the world. This isn't East Coast or West Coast. I've been across the world. This isn't East Coast, West Coast.
Speaker: thing that the Rams were trying to do. 15 hours a year. I've been there that there's there. I mean, yes, you've been there, but half of those players in L .A. have an O. And also, by the way, no Aaron Donald in that game. and no and And now, because, again, we saw the rust in Myles Garrett, and now he's out for the next month. so
Speaker: Boom! And that's exactly the point right there is that when when you don't have players that are well -rested, reaction time is slow, and you're more liable to injury. Miles Garrett had an interview.
Speaker: where he said, I did not feel right all week long. And that's why he wasn't playing as well as he could have. if you're one of the best But he was at home all week long. That's fair. that has nothing if you feel Good all week long has nothing to do with the travel I said it. This is a different argument than the one we were having. You think the travel had nothing to do with slow play injuries? I think it had a slight effect, but not because they got beat 27 -7.
Speaker: I don't think it had that much effect. I think it had a slight effect. when you add on to the fact that these guys don't play play in real -time situations with each other like they should be or at least for a series or two to get themselves acclimated That's going to hit, especially when you have teams who didn't play any of their starters at all are kind of the team. some In the preseason.
Speaker: I think they were the ones that didn't play anybody, right? there There was a lot. of play but Rams didn't play anybody. We didn't play any of our starters. That's what I'm saying. It's more that than it is the travel. ohbo Is that a fumble? Is that a fumble?
Speaker: Oh my goodness, Broncos are trying to run... Bo Nix is trying to run around. He's trying to get the ball off. He goes back and it looks like I got to see the replay. But it looks like it may have fell backwards out of his hand. I'm barely seeing it now.
Speaker: They're about to show the replay now. Oh, did he get hit? Oh, he did fumble it. No, he fumbled it. I can't tell. I need a closer look on that. That would be crucial because the Broncos really needed something, man. It was an empty hand going forward, I think.
Speaker: Wow Hey, one thing about this game. Oh, it did just go out of his hand. That's a photo of Kansas City Chief Paul. Yeah, empty hand. know They called it fumble out of bounds.
Speaker: They call it fumble out of bounds. No! Out of bounds? Are you serious? They didn't recover it? Yeah, cause they said this. Yeah, they're safe. Yeah, they say it fumble out of bounds, a loss of six, so.
Speaker: Oh, man. Shut up. Shut up. Dead Zeppelin. I love the name. Dead Zeppelin 4511. Hey, sports professor, I know you like fun facts. We're canceling all that. I know you like fun facts. Broncos canceling all that tonight. They're not. maybe All we need is 14 more points.
Speaker: All they need is 14 more points, Dead Zeppelin. and they will break the record of 691 points. Go ahead, Flo. What's up? What you got? Yeah, ah fun fact, Davis Webb, the offensive coordinator. And Patrick Mahomes were actually roommates at Texas Tech because they both played on the team together.
Speaker: Davis Webb was the starter, and Patrick Holmes took over for him. And they only had two on scholarship ever since. The only one and only Baker Mayfield left. To go to Oklahoma, those three were all on the same roster at one point. But, yeah, Davis Webb, the offensive coordinator, and Patrick Mahomes were roommates.
Speaker: And and why why is it, I was thinking this earlier today when I heard Davis Wed... had such a good first coordinating game was Why is it always the backup quarterbacks who suck in the NFL that are good? It must be because they have all the time in the world to just ride watch the game and study. Tell him more, Kevin O 'Connell, Davis Webb.
Speaker: Great offensive coordinator. That's what I'm saying. All right. I think this is going to mellow itself out because once teams get more acclimated to each other and, again, injuries. Yeah, the defenses are behind.
Speaker: injuries speaking of it Speaking of slow reaction time. oh Yeah. They haven't been able to go full speed until the real game. yeah yeah and This is a problem I have with the NFL is that I get it. You want players to play healthy. but and the The mindset of these guys has to be, though, if we don't get our reps in, if we don't get our...
Speaker: are Our... Are, are... you know You know what I'm trying to say. If we don't get what we need to get done done, we don't get all the we're not going to look good out of the gate. I mean, Jamar Chase only had two catches for 14 yards, even though the Bengals won that game handily against Tampa Bay.
Speaker: Jamar Chase was nowhere to be found. and yeah And Marvin Harrison the same way. Cardinals won big, but Marvin Harrison only won catch for yards. For our game, i think I think we just got the ball bouncing the wrong way, too, because we had four fumbles. We caused four fumbles, but we only got one of them.
Speaker: And so we were hitting people and we were causing turnovers that just the ball bounced back to the... you know, to the other team and we didn't get those fumbles, but we caused for four fumbles. If we get two or three of those, it's a different game.
Speaker: Yeah. Well, look, man, since the beginning of of football time, it's always been defenses have been ahead of offenses. Because it's easier to run and hit than it is to get an offense underway. But now you had 17 new offensive... uh, play coordinat this year. And you got to think about all the new technology. Shout out to The Athletic for all this information that I'm giving you. Think tablets with AI cap out capabilities.
Speaker: Smart cameras. eye tracking feedback, virtual reality headsets that offensive players are using that are giving them the upper edge. against defensive players. So. um yeah know that's good that's goodnna But it's been slowly going up because how slanted the rules are to the offense. Sure, I agree with that. yeah oh Who won the argument?
Speaker: SIGH
Speaker: I'm gonna go can. Can. All right. i Can, and team. Who you got? AP dropping so much. AP driving so much knowledge out here, man. AP just driving it, man.
Speaker: Mm -hm.
Speaker: AP was dropping some knowledge. He was dropping some bombs. AP, who you got? Kissing up, man. ah I'm only doing this because I want to see Omar break the tie. I'm gonna go with Flo. Oh, here it is. Making me break the tie. Breaking the tie.
Speaker: Now, I liked Canteen's four points as he went off script. As he always tends to do. I don't know where he was going talking about different quarterbacks. But I love your canteen. You're hilarious. um and your and your bullet points of list uh flo you you're you're not wrong what you said is right about you soliditude bro about the defenses.
Speaker: um you know not being as as well... ready or well prepared. two, take on these offenses, but I think it had a a lot to do with other. factors as well. that were pointed out by AP and also the court new coordinators, the all that stuff, the extension of the preseason. So I'm going to go with AP. On this one, AP gets the point there. Good job, AP. I mentioned the preseason.
Speaker: I know you did. i okay Look, okay you had a good argument too. It's okay. um Yeah. Flo. Since you did not... um No one's hating you.
Speaker: Well, it's because I'm a cowboy fan. I think i get what yeahbo try to yeah yeah yeah but you're one of those I'm one ah one of those... Not so.
Speaker: Yeah, the one of the crazy ones. You will start us off, Flo, on the game picks. Let's start off with our college football picks. Go ahead and give it to us who you got in these three games.
Speaker: ah College football. Okay, well... I mean... Texas Tech in Houston. Well... I mean, we're 2 -0. Yeah, I mean, I got the Texas Tech hat on, so. Yeah, they there I think they're 7 .5 -point favorites or something like that, or they were. Uh... So I think it's safe to pick us, ah but I think you can see why Hammond was the backup, you know, before we before we lost.
Speaker: our actual starting quarterback. I'm not saying Hammond's not a good player, but you could see why he was the backup. ah Plus, he was coming off an injury. He's coming off a pretty serious injury. And so... ah You know, Texas Tech has kind of struggled a little bit on ah offense, even though they haven't looked horrible. They have struggled a little bit on ah offense and they did lose a lot of defensive stars. You know, ah a quite a few of them in the NFL right now.
Speaker: Uh. You know, Jacob Rodriguez and David Bailey over the Jets. and Yeah, there's there's like three or four, you know, from that team. And so I think the fact that they're going to be at home.
Speaker: It's hard to play there in the what used to be called the Jones, and now it's Galaxy Stadium or something like that. So... ah I just think we have a slight edge. i think it's I don't think we're going to cover necessarily. I think I lean Texas Tech 31 -24, and I think this is going to be ah a little bit of a shootout. We may be a little higher scoring, but I'm going to go 31 -24 Texas.
Speaker: 31 -24 as Travis Kelsey. Bumbles, rumbles, and stumbles for about 60 yards. Down inside the 10. What a long reception for Travis Kelsey.
Speaker: My opponent has Travis Kelty. My ex -JJ is in the luxury booth. By the way, you were right. By the way, you were right, Flo. It is seven and a half. line spread right now oh okay okay i thought i saw something but sometimes it moves you know Yeah. Flo missed my joke.
Speaker: about my i miss the okay being up in the day oh he's up there with tom cruise did you see that No, I didn't. uh yeah she's up there next to tom cruise tom cruise with that scientology Yeah, but I'm just saying two of the most famous people are in the stadium right now. That's crazy. Yeah, that's pretty crazy. In the world. um All right, who's your other two picks here, Flo?
Speaker: okay so i'm gonna go uh what is it you don't need scores either you can give scores you don't have to oh okay okay uh
Speaker: Both offenses average 40 points and 550 yards. So this key seems like it's going to be somewhat of a shootout. I think Louisville has got the home field advantage. and the turnover margin.
Speaker: SMU. as a passing volume they're number one right now i think in the nation and passing. ah So I expect this to be a pretty high scoring game. I'm going to give, just because they're at a home, I'm going to give Louisville the slight edge, 38 -35.
Speaker: i' think that I think they win, but I wouldn't be surprised if SMU wins this game. because I have them picking as one of the teams making the playoffs this this season. So it's going to be close. I just give a little bit of a slight edge because they're at home.
Speaker: And they're both kind of it's going to be kind of a shootout. All right. And then... I guess LSU Ole Miss. Yes, you got it. All right, so there l let's use minus three.
Speaker: They're on the road. I mean, this is the... Lane Kippen game. Lane Kiffin Bowl, however you want to call it, right? He returns back to Oxford. That's the story, right? Oh, yeah. list you Yeah, and so They demolished Clemson and in week one.
Speaker: Ole Miss. ah Grinded past Louisville. Chambliss, he is dangerous, but LSU's front, they got a lot up front.
Speaker: Man, I think they go on the road, and and and LSU pulls this one out. High -scoring game again, I think 35 -31, something like that. LSU pulls it out. on the road, and he wins.
Speaker: The Lane Kiffin. Lane Kiffin wins the Lane Kiffin Bowl. Lane Kiffin wins the Lane Kiffin Bowl. Canteen for your three picks. All right, man. So we got Houston and Texas Tech, man. Houston, they opened up against Oregon State.
Speaker: They played pretty good with them, and then they cooked. um um Marshall Falk. then I think it would be a must. No, was it Marshall? Yeah, Marshall Fogg. I think he's the coach at... ah Southern.
Speaker: ah i think that Oh, that's right. I forgot about that. he also muscle now Marshall Faulkner's the head coach down at Southern University. They put up like 70 -something points against those guys, but... Houston goes into the season at 2 -0. Texas Tech is 2 -0.
Speaker: um I hear a lot of people where I live at down here in Clovis, New Mexico, they're talking really bad about testing. Hey, they're in my country. They're talking bad about Texas Tech and flowing his team. Because why in the hell would they put a college game on a Friday night?
Speaker: When uh... High school football is king here. In New Mexico and New Mexico and Texas. Here's what I'm going to say, man. TB. TB money, man. offense But also, why we call it New America?
Speaker: Yeah. And then the game is going to be played at... ah at Jones Stadium, man. But I'm going to say this right here, man. It's Galaxy Stadium now. Yeah, yeah. So what what's the name of this game, Flo? Galaxy.
Speaker: Galaxy. Galaxy Stadium. It used to be called Jones A and t and &T. Jones A &T. they you know made some modifications but uh Houston ain't really played nobody. They haven't really played any competition, but I would say that.
Speaker: Texas Tech will win this game 34 -24. at home on Friday night, man. I'll be covered. um The Louisville -SMU game, man.
Speaker: SMU is 2 -0. Louisville is 1 -1. SMU has a very very, very good passing attack. Louisville has the home field advantage, man. But what I'm going to say about this SMU.
Speaker: Bing! Um... They're going to be prominent in the ACC. man I think they're going to do really, really well. So I'm going to go a close game, 31. 28. SMU.
Speaker: He's gonna cover that game, they're gonna win that game. In the game, of the thirty one twenty eight Game of the Week! Game of the week, man. By seven points. 31 -28 by seven, huh? Yeah, the game of the week, guys. The game of the week. I remember that one. Yes, I do. That's great. game but Good Good times. Both teams in this game undefeated.
Speaker: Um... College game day is going down at Ole Miss. Ole Miss College Game Day. Kiffin left Ole Miss to go to LSU. There it is. Several Ole Miss players followed Kiffin to go do his thing, man. Both teams have... you know unmatched talent.
Speaker: Sam Levitt left Arizona. They go follow him. Prince Will, Unimelian. But I'm going to say this right here, man. Here's what I think is going to happen. now And I hate to say this. I'm gonna go against the odds, man. ah and I'm going against the odds.
Speaker: God, I hate to say this, but I'm gonna go. I'm going Ole Miss 35. Woo! Ole Miss 35.
Speaker: And I'm going ah LSU 27. I think ah the Lakers homecoming, he'll be homecoming. He'll be humble when he comes home. correct Upset. Upset alert man.
Speaker: Upset alert in the big game of the weekend. Fight up, Chet. Not a huge one, but it's a fight up, Chet. That's what I got, guys. All right. Hey, just to update everybody, it is 24 to 10 Kansas City. after a field goal so now we're at 34 points remember they need 42.
Speaker: to break the record. So they may break it in this game tonight. AP, who are your picks for this game? Ciao! I'm gonna go backwards. I'll start with the big game. We'll start with the big game, LSU Ole Miss.
Speaker: Um... I am picking LSU. I had LSU in the SEC championship game. I have them losing to Georgia in the SEC championship game. I think this LSU team is for real.
Speaker: Um... I don't think it's going to be even close. I'm going to say it's going to be like a 35 to 10. LSU victory over Ole Miss. Here's the thing. I love Trinidad Chambliss. I think he's going to be a fantastic quarterback in the future, especially when he gets to the NFL.
Speaker: Ooh! But there's um um there's one person who nfl there is what there is one person who knows Chambliss better than himself, and that is Lane Kiffin. oh he knows He knows his tendencies. He knows what he's going to do. He's going to have that defense ready to go and to to shut down that Ole Miss ah offense.
Speaker: So I got LSU in a blowout win. in that game. Mmm. I also got Louisville in a blowout of SMU. What? I have that. and I have that. yeah And the reason why I say this is look back a couple weeks ago.
Speaker: Louisville took Ole Miss to the limit. and almost won that game. that's true SMU has struggled. We have almost been blown out. SMU has struggled. at times.
Speaker: Uh... in the early going. Yes, they've won both of their games but they've looked strong sluggish against Florida State. And yes, and you yeah you beat a lower level school. Congratulations, UT Davis.
Speaker: Not a bad team, but not ah not a good team either. Right, yeah. and yeah they played very sluggish against florida state a team that many people believe is not going to be good at all this year. and Mike Norville might be the first coach fired. so um i like louisville a lot especially with the home cooking this might be a blowout too so i'll say maybe like 31 -17.
Speaker: not not too bad of us Not too bad of a score, but i don I think they'll at least be a double -digit win for Louisville. And then I'm going upset. Sorry, Flo.
Speaker: I don't like what I've seen from Texas Tech's offense. And here's the thing, they should have lost that game to Oregon State. Had they not gotten a couple of those late. Turnovers late.
Speaker: Yeah, we got turnover. That's how you win the game. Oregon State was in a position to win that game late in that game. so And Houston's a much better team than Oregon. Houston's a better team than Oregon State. so I'm gonna go with the upset. I'm gonna go Houston.
Speaker: I'll say they win it on a last -second field goal, 27 -24. All right. There you go. 27 -24. Those are your picks. I'm just going to pick the big game for you. lost Just to tell you.
Speaker: I do think LSU is... and When you said they're going to grub them... They're going to get it drubbing. As much as I dislike... Lane Kiffin, LSU does have a dominant.
Speaker: dominant team this year. So I do not think they're going to lose to Ole Miss because as was said. Trinidad Chambliss, the one that knows him more is Lane Kiffin. as Canteen said. or I don't know who said that. Someone said that.
Speaker: It was good. a pe well Whoever said it. AP said it. Okay, good job, AP. But yeah, I'm going with LSU in that game. All right. Let's move it on to the NFL. Game picks. And remember, these are scored after one point for each correct pick.
Speaker: Lions versus Bills, Colts versus Chiefs. Giants versus Rams. We will start with you, Canteen. Man, it's Lions versus Bills Thursday night game.
Speaker: Woo! whoa Um... The Lions look impressive on both sides of the ball, man, but...
Speaker: I'm going to go with this man. I like the Bills. All right. I like what the Bills did. At ah Houston the other night, man, I'm going to go... um Bill's 3428. Thursday night.
Speaker: all right um Then we got a Sunday night game with the Colts and Chiefs. Big Sunday night game. Um... Yeah, the way the Chiefs playing now, they look it's spectacular right now.
Speaker: Looking good so far. they I mean, the Colts put up big numbers yesterday there against the... ah Baltimore Ravens as well, but I'm going to go ah Chiefs 27, Colts 20.
Speaker: All right, KC. And the last game. Oh, fumble by Bo Nix. Bo Nix fumbles again! Again? Oh, Nick's fumbles again. Pressured in the pocket.
Speaker: He loses another fumble on Tuesday. There is hot hot take Jake is right. Give us that last game for us, can't you? All right, man. Since we said his name.
Speaker: Who's that? That's what I thought.
Speaker: Hey, fellas, man. ah That's great. that That Monday night game, man, I got to go. ah based on what I saw last night, man, a That's funny.
Speaker: Jackson Dart, man, and and and and the the Johns, they look promising, man. They look... really, really promising. They look good. They look good. I'm going to go. 2023.
Speaker: I'm going Giants. Wow. Or is it just that the Dallas defense is that bad? Let's find out for some Dallas fans themselves. that yeah Go ahead, man. No, you good. You want to finish up? Nah, man. Hey.
Speaker: Go ahead, go ahead, go ahead, go ahead, go ahead. Okay, all right. Well, let's find out from Dallas fans how bad their defense truly is. Flo, how bad is your defense? ah today on how bad is your defense mr mr micah parsons easily replaced that's not one of the games is it i thought that wasn't one of the games no about those It's Giants -Rams. Giants -Rams on Monday ah monday night.
Speaker: Yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, Josh Roach. It's called cheese. Who'd you pick? Can't think. You picked the Giants. I picked Giants. Oh, because of how good they looked against us. Is that what you're saying? That's what I was saying. Yes. My bad. Yeah. Oh, okay. Okay. Go ahead and pick the game.
Speaker: ah Let's see. Well, yeah, I think the bills did look good. um especially against what we could consider ah probably the best defense, at least in in the AFC for sure, but they're one of the best defenses in the NFL, in the Texans, even though they are behind, as we all kind of noted, they're behind.
Speaker: And I think they'll start to show up some of those things, you know, as one of the top defenses in the NFL. And so I think after a short week. After overtime, after Detroit miss is going to be missing a few secondary pieces.
Speaker: in their secondary, Allen already lit up a good defense, a great defense, even if they were a little off that day. I expect a little bit of a shootout. I'm going to say...
Speaker: Detroit's able to kind of keep it up. They still were able to perform on offense a little bit. Jameer Gibbs went off that day. I don't know if golf's going to be able to come back. I always have a golf on pumpkin alert.
Speaker: No matter what, I don't care. So I'm going to lean bills. I'm going to say $34 .27. I think the Bills win it kind of comfortably, and then they you know they get like a late -second touchdown or something, and it makes it look look closer than it is. 34 -27, I got the Bills winning that one.
Speaker: ah Colts and Chiefs. Yeah, Chiefs look pretty good here. ah The running game looks good. Colts coming off a defensive beating by Baltimore. I don't know.
Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Jones is still rounding into form. He's coming off an injury. He looks worse than Mahomes' look coming off his injury. But, great yeah, he's he's coming off an injury, and he has not looked as good as Mahomes.
Speaker: He's looked in the past. He doesn't look to me. He Mahomes uses his legs when he has to. And Jones, I think he needs that kind of threat. To be effective. quarterback a little bit. I think he needs him a little more.
Speaker: ah to to help his offensive performance. And so I'm going to lean Chiefs here. I'm going to say the Chiefs, ah you know. It's not going to be a blowout, but I'll say 27 -17. The Chiefs win another one at home on primetime Sunday night football.
Speaker: And then the Giants -Rams. ah Rams are favorites here. I think minus seven. and so Really? Wow. Yeah. And so the Giants look improved.
Speaker: under hardball after beating us And like we've all been saying, the defenses are behind. And so our defense has was behind. Plus, we have a lot of young players, plus Overshow went out, plus we have two rookies playing on defense.
Speaker: And we have a rookie. defensive head coach defensive coordinator. And so I think that made the Giants look a little better than they are. And I think the Rams, I think...
Speaker: the I'm still saying it's overrated. The the time. and all that going over there and overseas. It's a little overrated. I think the Rams start to look back. That's Miles Garrett.
Speaker: Yeah. Well, he was he didn't feel good before he left, so that's what he said. That was your quote. So he didn't feel good before he left. It was the whole process, Flo. But he didn't look good the whole week, Omar. i mean You said that. what He was at home the whole week. He thought he should have been there early. acclimating his body.
Speaker: Anyways, good. But yeah. yeah The Rams should bounce back here. Uh -oh. Let me stop you real quick, Flo, because there's almost a touchdown here. Kansas City.
Speaker: Gets it down inside the 10. Oh, we have a flag. We're going to pass? We have a flag that was a pass. Hold on. There's a flag on the plate. Is it defense or offensive? Hopefully it's a different penalty.
Speaker: Either way, it don't matter. It looks like it's going against the defense. Patrick Mahomes is pointing the other way. Oh, good. Oh, wow. Yep, personal foul defense. Okay, Rough in the Past or something?
Speaker: Let's see. Might have been a face mask. Good to see you. Jake, my boy, you cook tonight, Jake. I can't see what it was. Anyway, first of all, go ahead, Flo. Okay, so yeah, i'm gonna I'm saying Rams have a little bit of a bounce back game and the Giants come back down to earth.
Speaker: and they're they're going to be who they are last place in the NFC East. that's who they are but they're going to be competitive all year. I have them, I think, winning nine games. so eight or nine games so they're gonna be competitive more competitive than they have been in the past but still I'm leaning Rams.
Speaker: uh they kind of right the ship a little bit i'm gonna say it's a little bit of a high scoring game 30. to 20. I got this man The Rams. Covering 30 to 20. 30 to 20. Wow. Flo is talking Kenneth Walker.
Speaker: A trick play. Another. They double pass it to him. Oh, wait. Here it is. I see it. Walker scores a touchdown. I'm behind you. The Chiefs are up 30 to 10. Hot take Jake is getting that. Hey, Professor, but you need to do a wellness check on your butt. Do where it ah to a Hey, we just need one field goal. We need one field goal to break the record now. There you go. Hey, give us your picture, AP.
Speaker: Do a winter check on your butt, man. All right, so Thursday night Lions -Bills. I think this could potentially be the game of the week. um two Two big offenses going at it. you know We saw Josh Allen, what the what he was able to do, and Houston finally broke that curse.
Speaker: um ah and made that And again, the defense wasn't themselves was it themselves in Houston, but still good win for him. Uh, it It is a home game. They are breaking in a new stadium. It is Highmark Stadium's debut in the regular season in the NFL.
Speaker: So I think because of that, the Bills are going to get a win. I think it'll be closer than people think. I have the Lions covering. They won't cover. Which... which ah If - Let me see.
Speaker: Shake this out real quick. Oh, I'm like seven points away. Well, yeah, um... Bringing me back. I was like, but yeah, I got it. went down Nice.
Speaker: I got this. I like this game being... 31 -27, I got Buffalo winning at home, but the Lions will cover because I think their offense is just too good not to. it'll be an offensive game but i got the bills winning late
Speaker: Uh, Chiefs c Colts. This is an easy one. Give me the Chiefs. It's going to be a blowout. The Colts look terrible right now. Blowout. The only chance the Colts will have to win this game is if Jonathan Taylor goes for 215 and three touchdowns. That's the only chance that the Colts will have.
Speaker: to win in this game. But I think Kansas City will take care of business. And I got the Giants in an upset. I got the Giants in an upset Monday night against the Rams. I actually, Flo, I actually, I actually, I actually, before the season started, I picked the Giants to be a wildcard team. And I think that, that.
Speaker: prediction is going to come to fruition. I actually like the Giants. tool They just missed. The other three teams make it. The other three teams might make it. Flo, for some reason, we cannot see your camera. There you go. All right. just Now we're moving on to our lock and upsets of the week. We'll go right back to you, AP. Your lock is your guarantee. It can be any NFL game, any college football game you want, and your upset has to be a plus -7 NFL or plus -10 college football underdog, and they must. win outright. Who are your two picks?
Speaker: ah This is tough. This is tough to figure out because there's just so much you can pick from. There's so much that... Anything could happen. Anything could go go wrong. Anything could go right. I'm actually going to... I'm going... I'm going Friday night. I'm going Miami to... to...
Speaker: Beat Wake Forest. and cover that 20 and a half. uh, Because Miami the miamis miami's miami oh mimi is Yeah, that is my luck. Miami is a machine, and really, if I'm being honest, Miami should be ranked in the top three right now.
Speaker: um But. The AP polls and the coaches' polls are stupid. so Um. I love it. So um I think Miami is going to route Wake Forest and early and it's not going to even be close.
Speaker: As far as the upset, I mean... The easy pick would it be to pick the Giants to cover that plus seven. But I'm going to get it go a different route, actually. And the you're welcome, Omar. I am picking the Raiders. No compliment.
Speaker: I'm picking the Raiders to outright beat the l LA Chargers. This. Next Sunday. Can we pick the same teams? Three... raers Yeah, you can't hear. Here it doesn't matter. Oh, okay, okay, okay. So, yeah, I've got Miami, Miami, and Miami, you.
Speaker: as the lock and then the Raiders. the Raiders as the upset. All right, and the Raiders over the l LA Chargers. Alright, cool. Flo who you got?
Speaker: Oh man.
Speaker: Just cause AP. Ticked me off. I got 10. Texas Tech over Houston. As the lock of the week. As the lock of the week. Home field advantage.
Speaker: They've had the advantage over Houston. Texas Tech, lock of the week. Knock it down. Book it. Texas Tech beats Houston, lock of the week. There you go. We're sure coming with some vengeance.
Speaker: Yeah, vengeance. is mine, thus says the Lord. And then... Amen. What's your upset? Oh man.
Speaker: what You said it has to be 10 points? ten Ten points college, seven points NFL. And they have to win outright. one outright. Okay. Let's see here. Give me a second. i i'm hello i send these so you can do it before the game i know i i know i'm just While Flo is looking at his 31 to 10...
Speaker: 14 minutes in the fourth quarter. What's up? Go. Okay. i'm gonna I'm gonna go a little bit off. kilter here i think uh virginia's got a little too too much credit And I think the Big 12 is better than people have been saying. We have a lot of good teams.
Speaker: And I'm going to say West Virginia as a 10 -point dog. upsets Virginia in the Battle of the Virginias. West Virginia. Peace. The, what is it? Who are the Virginia? Cavaliers. They beat the Cavaliers. The Mountaineers beat the Cavaliers.
Speaker: 10 points. There you go. That's my. up All right. Canteen, who are your lock and upsets of the week? Go Raiders! Man, um I'm about to go crazy man.
Speaker: Go crazy. You know, he's crazy though. I'm going to go Rutgers. Rutgers!
Speaker: Right, that's good. At your lockers? This is my lock. You got Rutgers beating USC. As a lock? They're going to beat USC. At home. No, it's the upset. That's the upset. Is it the outfit or the lock? That's my upset. Oh, I was about to say. I was like, wait, okay. That's my upset.
Speaker: Okay, good luck. What's your lot? Heya. I got to go with my counterpart. Hey, Flo, I'm going to jump with you this week. I'm going to take the Cardinals at home.
Speaker: Over to Seahawks. Cardinals, AZ over Seattle. I got the Cardinals winning 10 games, baby. I got the Cardinals winning 10 games. Oh, the Seahawks at home. Yeah, let's go right Yeah, that's what I got, baby. Hey, there you go. Good pick. Good pick, Canteen.
Speaker: Yeah. i have to I have to trust that y 'all actually did the the the the plus. The underdog points right. and I'm not going to go check it right now. So I got it. Hope that you did that right. All right. It is now.
Speaker: 1342 left. Well, you know Rutgers. Turns over the ball on downs. Man, you better check on Jake, man. kansas city we're going to check on jake i will in just a second let's go ahead and finish Let's go ahead and finish this up. This is the last part of it. This is your final. Sacrifice.
Speaker: Trivia! Alright, everybody. Here we are. We've got our trivia board. I'm going to go through each one. They progressively get harder. You just got to yell out me.
