You know how we like to start here.
Speaker: with the best game of the weekend you choose. Your favorite game from the weekend college football or NFL. And we argue who had the best argument. Bobby G.
Speaker: Start us off, my brother. The best professional. football game of last weekend. mm -hmm And I'm going to go ahead and be biased. I don't care if I do lose. argument There's Cleveland, pan Carolina, man. ah Cleveland, like, there was so much.
Speaker: drama surrounding this game, right? It was the word coming in, word leaked out, oh, they're going to boo the heck out of Deshaun Watson. from the start Uh... They squashed all that.
Speaker: a lot of chairs yeah you're supposed to get ran out of the building You know. ah it Just so much drama coming into that game. But... A.
Speaker: Our PR department did an amazing job. Because what did they do? They signed Nick Chubb to a one -day contract so he could officially retire as a Cleveland Brown.
Speaker: to kind of flip the way that the crowd was gonna respond at the beginning of that game. We also brought out Nick Chubb. at the beginning. the to break the guitar. which is now a tradition when we start our home games.
Speaker: Amen. Uh... The defense went out there and balled. The defense, our defense, like I say, everybody was concerned with the loss of Myles Garrett. Yes, it took a week for him to get it together. because Obviously, Jacksonville did their thing in week one, but since then...
Speaker: ah we've allowed. with like 13 points a game. So... um Mason Graham. That dude's a monster. He is a monster. He is a monster. uh put on a show like i said often the offense wasn't there but was there on both sides and deshaun watson struggled for three quarters But then that fourth quarter happened.
Speaker: And you know what?
Speaker: Superman game in the building. We took over the game Made some crucial plays down the stretch. and threw in a game -winning touchdown. you know and with the cherry on top And we're two on one. We're two on one.
Speaker: Uh... Todd Munkin. Early Coach of the Year candidate. Okay. Okay. You know, doing his thing. and and ah You know, the Panthers, they they were there were America's sweethearts.
Speaker: coming into this game as well you know i had a couple of Or a victory. you know I mean, they got stomped out week one, but yeah they were coming off a solid victory in week two. And what everybody thought about, you know, we heard what our coach said the week before.
Speaker: Browsers to browse. F that. You know? And they came out and played like it. And they came out and played like it. What do you say? to the people that would say yeah but You lost your... You got blown out. Blown out!
Speaker: by a good Jacksonville team. And Carolina may not be as good as that first. couple of games have showed uh not to mention the buccaneers have showed that they are Not a good team at all.
Speaker: What do you say to those people that maybe these wins aren't enticing enough? to show that the browns or anything and they just got maybe lucky a couple weeks I mean... you need You need a little luck to win the championship, right? And I'm not saying we're going to win the championship. Oh, my God, thank you. every Everybody gets lucky, right? The Denver Broncos got lucky, right, that that referee was reffing that game because that was not pass interference. I'm sorry, sir. ah you know the sense it Or, I mean, the Buffalo Bills, 3 -0.
Speaker: But they got lucky that Mr. Lasseter can't catch, right? But it takes a little luck sometimes. The question is, can you come through when necessary? And we did that. Two weeks in a row.
Speaker: Yeah, shout out to Joshua Morrison, 2105, that says Duval. here for his Jaguars. He said, so the Jags are... beat a good team, I hear the opposite to the media. So, you know, hey, maybe down there in Jacksonville they are like me and not as high. on the Cleveland Browns. You must forgive Bobby G for being.
Speaker: Uh, you know. ah a fan at heart while still being a really realistic Analyst. um you know Sometimes we have to. yeah rare homer that was thank you Thank you for saving me. I was trying was trying to dance that, really, and i i I couldn't do it. I just couldn't figure out where I was going with that. Anyways, thank you for tuning in, Joshua. All right, Wildcard Mark, what was your pick of the weekend?
Speaker: I mean... I... This is... Cut. the Cut the crap and give state the obvious. All right. so I was present for the 13 -second game, right?
Speaker: And I thought I would. I would never see anything. more astonishing than that. What? Thanks, too. AP's most lousiest in normal football. We saw a seven second miracle What a marvelous...
Speaker: Marvelous. More. marr And the Marvelous Ravens. All right, there is no more Lamar Jackson slander allowed around me. For the rest of... anybody's natural born life.
Speaker: I will slap this shit out. You're normal. Pulled off a miracle in seven seconds. I ain't trying to hear shit else. So if... We were gushing about Patrick Mahomes.
Speaker: In the 13 -second game. Motherfuckers should be losing eight. mind about that seven second miracle. that Lamar Jackson just put off. and i And there's nothing you can change my mind about. they literally went from that game was about to go into overtime to literally winning the damn thing.
Speaker: ah That was the game of the week. They had everything you needed. And especially. internationally. Hey. This is... This is what we got going on in the NFL. You like this drama? Yeah. They got they got hooked.
Speaker: that's your That's your first experience. of NFL football is a seven second miracle. There's no way that you... you you can't say that you don't have a Good batter. Uh, uh...
Speaker: Just... casual fans you just made in Brazil. They hooked now. So, a game of the week. Or not. Yeah, um Your neck!
Speaker: You're not going to get any disagreements from me. Because I am still... Quite mighty jet lagged. from my 17 hours of traveling. Too real!
Speaker: to cover The Cowboys Ravens game. And may I say, not only were the... Beaches. And the beautiful or the the ladies, very beautiful. But the food was excellent. And the game was the game of the week.
Speaker: By far. um In my opinion. Only... I may be a little biased because I was there. Again, in Rio, and it was amazing. um But just I think that was what had everybody talking.
Speaker: all weekend long afterwards was kind of like, okay, what happened there in those last seconds in AP? I'm not trying to step on you. I was just there. So I'm trying to give my opinion a little bit on this. What?
Speaker: What I really want to do... Let's talk to Mr. Brian Fitty. Schottenheimer, okay? Nepo baby. Because your father, you is not.
Speaker: And you need to take your ass. somewhere down to the local hiring facility. And find a new damn job. Because offensive coordinator should not be one of them.
Speaker: All right. First of all, And I'm not a Dallas Cowboys fan. I went. Because my dad is a Cowboys fan. And he wanted to go. And he asked me if I wanted to go and who the hell do I look like?
Speaker: Turning down. uh a free trip to brazil uh so i went um that being said i was amongst him and his cowboy buddies who also went down there So I was the honorary Cowboys fan. for the weekend. That being said.
Speaker: i I was pissed. like a Cowboys fan might have been when he saw Brian Schottenheimer. Put Dak Prescott in. MOTHER - and shotgun twice on fourth and one including once on the goal line that was when i first started getting really pissed off And I remember because I turned to one of the cowboys. to My dad was talking to one of the other guys. And I was like.
Speaker: Remind me. is it who's your oc i was like is it brian schottenheimer he's like yeah I was like, oh, well this explains everything. So then. You get further into the game.
Speaker: You get to the last possession. Date. ah essentially have Jack Prescott throw the ball away. on one of my most ha hated plays in the world, which is third down, and AP, you know we talked about it last episode, but you throw it to the corner of the... an end zone where no one can catch it. run a better high probability play to score.
Speaker: But then even then... You kick the field goal and leave too many seconds on the clock. Then after that, You defense, which has got to be in... Prevent mode for the love of everything that is holy in football. And you let look you let them catch the ball.
Speaker: That's not a Brian Shimer, but the rest of it is. I'm sorry. I was saving that rant. for one of these shows. And it just had to come out there. AP, who's your pick of the week? I don't blame the defense at all for for any of that. they played Not giving up that last play? No, I don't i don't blame it at all. That is all on Brian Schottenheimer.
Speaker: That is all on Brian Schottenheimer because you could have just ended that game. No need to play that. No need to put your defense in that situation. That is true. That is all on Brian Schottenheimer. Defense, actually, I think they played their best game. Even though they still gave up 34 points, I think they played their best game this year. so of the year so far. so And, I mean, it's it's the right game to pick. it is This is what you call cinema.
Speaker: This is what... it It had... Everything. It had a little bit of everything. You had high drama. You had great offenses being played. You had fourth down stops, which...
Speaker: Who would have thought the Cowboys could do that, huh? uh an and a goal line stop which You know... You talk about Mason Graham in Cleveland. That's going to be Jay Sean Barham next year, by the way. who' is A phenomenal middle linebacker. right now and it It sucks when your two best players on your defense are both rookies, but...
Speaker: you know still at least they're they're good leaders which is something I can't say about some other. people we've had but Um... I will say it was, again, if you were there, if that was your first NFL experience. in in brazil that is definitely something that's got you hooked because Holy cow, that was probably that was almost the perfect game.
Speaker: That was almost the perfect game. i didn't I did not like the officiating in that game. for both sides because they missed calls for both teams. In fact, officiating throughout the entire weekend was bad.
Speaker: See? The Rams -Broncos game Sunday night. that that That game was officiated terribly as well. so But yeah, it had a little bit of everything. It had high drama, had... No. know high offense good defensive plays and of course heartbreak at the end if you're a cowboys fan and you know merit a miracle win if you're a Ravens fan.
Speaker: Although I do want to give a quick little honorable mention. to... The Iowa Hawkeyes for... Setting the world right. Once again. ah Yes. um Yes. Getting Michigan back for their game.
Speaker: Love you. And... I literally saw like ah hundreds of Michigan fans saying like, why didn't we get an extra second? I was like, you don't get an extra second, buddy. This is football.
Speaker: Not this time. but This isn't Western Michigan. This is Iowa. You don't get an extra second with Iowa. I'm sorry. Yeah So yeah, shout out shout out shout out to Iowa for setting the world right once again.
Speaker: ah So was that your pick for game of the weekend as well? yeah Okay, cool. yes Well, since you're a Cowboys fan and since... Morris said it first. I'm going to give you... Actually, you know what?
Speaker: I'm going to be generous today. No, I'm not going to be generous. I'm lying. I'm giving it to more. Amar had it first. ah but also I will say this. Um...
Speaker: It was... Wait, who are you? Wait. Uh... I don't know why I'm giving my pick because it doesn't matter anyways, but. Um. it was just amazing and the reason i wanted to talk about this is because You're right.
Speaker: If you were there. And you saw. Like, the looks on the... like the brazilian people's faces like inside the stadium while all the pageantry is happening and all the even during warm -ups the stadium is packed and people are just taking pictures and taking videos and all of these sorts of things. I can tell you right now you're completely right. If they you're a Brazilian, you were completely hooked.
Speaker: just like i was hooked on the brazilian ladies that being said as you know on this show We like to go around the horn. and let everyone else. say who won the argument so we'll start with ap who do you think won the argument I mean, first and foremost, it's it's an... International game, too, and usually with these international games, you don't see top teams like Dallas or Baltimore. You usually see teams like Arizona and Vegas.
Speaker: in in those international games so wow so out shout out shout out shout out to brazil for for getting it actually halfway decent really good uh international game so uh i mean it's mar Come on now.
Speaker: Congrats. Good. yeah yeah and And look, again, uh just if y 'all need to make it out to brazil it's a beautiful country um they were very welcoming most of the people were very friendly um and yeah it's just if they're gonna do this international expansion They need to do one thing, and we'll talk about this on next week's episode. I'm bringing in my brother Shane Peach for the first time, and we're going to talk about NFL international expansion. And one of the problems was the talk about the field.
Speaker: and how it wasn't prepared properly. And being there, listening to the people talking about it, it was like a dire situation coming down to Friday, Saturday, where they were actually planning on canceling. the game altogether and a lot of us including myself we're gonna be pissed because that's a lot of damn im traveling to go down for a game and then i have the damn game now again the country is beautiful but i went for a reason That being said,
Speaker: ah Mar, who you got as the winner? i I mean, I can't pick myself, so it's got to be Bobby. Yes, he was not. eat All right, there you go. Bobby G, who you got? Yeah.
Speaker: I'm splitting the point because nobody blamed the real the real person to blame in this game With Schottenheimer, with the defense. It was Dak Prescott. He airmailed the game -winning touchdown.
Speaker: 15th row. What are we talking about? Don't call that stupid play, Brian Schottenheimer. No, you call it because I have. One of the best receivers, two of the best receivers in the league, and a quarterback who consistently throws for 5 ,000 yards. He can throw a freaking five -yard out route to the pylon.
Speaker: No, you don't. He could also throw in routes deep into the stands. yeah Well, that right shots quarter you know what's funny about that? Schottenheimer said in the post -game interview that they taught Dak to throw it away in that scenario. Yep. He said he overcoached him, and he told him to throw it away. Throw it away when there's a wide -open receiver right at the freaking corner. I mean, I agree. no I don't know. i I agree with that, though. yeah I will say, though, at least they played better than this team did.
Speaker: Didn't even bother to show up in Georgia last week. That's funny. All right, cool. Well, that gives it to Marr getting the point there on that first debate. Yeah, it definitely was, man.
Speaker: And I will be posting the pictures this week on Instagram with the video. So y 'all definitely check it out. Amazing, amazing time. Shout out to my pops. uh going out there with me i got to cover it i got to do a whole bunch of stuff that i wouldn't normally have done so Shout out. and to all the boys that were out there with us. Yes. And once again, shout out to Iowa.
Speaker: for making things right. We're making all the things right in the world. Now we don't have to have the asterisk. michigan getting into the playoffs yeah i mean technically if you want to be fair though It was Michigan who was getting it. to get back remember once upon a time colorado with the Ghost down.
Speaker: They got screwed over years ago. Right. Okay. All right. John Paulster, 9928, thank you for tuning in. Says, now can we talk about the Bears? We're about to stop the Jets with a third -string quarterback this weekend. we wouldn' we would We will probably get into all of that a little later, right when we talk about our quarterbacks here in a few debates. So you stay tuned to that.
Speaker: Being said, let's keep it moving to our next topic of the day. um And so... Look y 'all. When we're looking at teams... That are, uh...
Speaker: That are... possibly going to be either a contender or not. We're looking at college football this week. We looked at NFL last week. 4 -0 teams. We're looking to see.
Speaker: Who is... a paper tiger versus who is A dark horse show. you know we're going to give you uh some different nfl uh different excuse me college teams and to choose from.
Speaker: And you are going to say, whether you basically believe they are a fraud Or are they a legit contender? for the college. football national championships.
Speaker: Cool. So let's go ahead. Your teams are. Texas, Georgia. Notre Dame, Miami. Indiana, Alabama, or Florida. Now you notice these are all the top 10 teams. that are 4 -0. I did not do all the top 25 teams. That would have been too many.
Speaker: But... Let's go ahead and start this off. Mark! We will come to you first on this one. Who is your team here in this in this debate?
Speaker: Yeah, I I'm just gonna... go with the ah actual dark horse that is Notre Dame. I know the offense. I guess. going to start coming around.
Speaker: but I love what they do on defense. in I mean... I don't care whether it's high school. At least. All right. the deepest. that that travels and and keeps you in the game.
Speaker: and give you opportunities to... get points on the board. ah I'll rock with that anytime. uh so Love what my man Marcus Freeman is doing.
Speaker: I, I... you Need to chill out on on the painting that is his hairline. But other than that and hu Other name is popping right now. So yeah, of course Mm -hmm.
Speaker: Look, man, Notre Dame moving into the top five we knew starting the season. that they were going to probably have an easy road because their schedule was on the lighter side. So a lot of people at the beginning of the season were saying,
Speaker: oh they should have a chance to go undefeated oh they shouldn't lose more than one one game so on and so forth. So if they're able to get it done like this, that means Marcus Freeman is doing... what he needs to do as a coach. and win those games that you're supposed to win and when you're looking at them actually getting in to the playoffs.
Speaker: Right now they' they're they're squarely in the race as long as they don't lose. you know, probably two games. They could probably still... I don't want to say they can lose more than one, but they can probably lose two and still get in.
Speaker: um and not have an issue even with the light schedule. Yep. All right, cool. Well, hey Pete. We'll come to you last because I know I forced these debate topics on you pretty quick there, so I want to give you a second. Bobby G, we'll come back to you. Who you got in this one?
Speaker: Oh, don't think too long, AP. I'm going to make this short and sweet. Oh shit, what the? Sorry. hey Oh my god. i That's great bro.
Speaker: do Do I need to say anything else? I mean, you don't have to know We have two Heisman candidates. We got the experience. they know they know they know what it takes to get there and this year they good they want to finish the job.
Speaker: And let's face it, honestly, I believe. I believe the the road this season. is easier than it was last season. I don't think teams this year are as good as they were last season.
Speaker: Think the Ohio State. This is clearly taking a step back. you need that uh Notre Dame although they are where where they are. They're not as good as they were a few years ago.
Speaker: And we'll take care of them and in a couple of weeks anyway. Um... Yeah, man, it's it's... We have a... better cool We finally have a quarterback who can actually get it done.
Speaker: And that's to take nothing away from the job that Carson Beck did. in the playoffs last year, but we actually have a quarterback. who is a a legit Playmaker. He's better than than Cam. He's better than Carson on the collision level. I'm not saying anything what he could be in the on the on the next level.
Speaker: On the collegiate level, though, he did it at Tulane. He did it at Duke. Took Duke to the ACC title game. So now that he actually has a roster that that ah knows how to win on that level. Hey.
Speaker: Sky's the limit. Oh. I looked at my other screen. Because I needed to check... ah I need to check the rate to make sure Miami is ranked number two, and I come back. and the miami hurricanes are still up i thought it would have been bobby g back he's still talking Behind the Miami Hurricanes, which is hilarious. ah They did move up into number two, and that's also because...
Speaker: Um... Ah you know look like you said they've got two heisman trophy candidates that are powering them right now and they're just continuing on what they did last year which is being a powerhouse So we'll see what happens. AP, who you got?
Speaker: Hmm. Me. Do I dare? talk about Texas being fraudulent. Mmm, I don't know about that. you May not want to.
Speaker: Mmm. Well, here's the thing. They actually have a tougher schedule this year than what they've had since they got to the SEC. He just went into Knoxville and only put up 20 points.
Speaker: with the guy who's supposedly supposed to be the number one pick in next year's draft. And they had a chance to lose that game at the end because your special teams can't recover an onside kick.
Speaker: I'm... Not sold. On Texas. oh I know they're probably going to blow us out because we're just trash at this point. But if that game is anywhere near close, I don't care if it's Red River. that I'd be concerned if I'm a Texas fan.
Speaker: Because again, you've got to go to the swamp again. You've got Missouri You've got to go to Death Valley.
Speaker: Florida's legit. Missouri can be a really good team. LSU is a really good team. Your only saving grace right now is you don't play Georgia.
Speaker: i So, are you... I...
Speaker: we know Because we know you're a Texas hater. You're an Oklahoma fan, so we know that. Well, well here's the thing. hu I think that they're they're a good team. They have a good defense. Solid playmakers.
Speaker: My only concern is... When they... When you have a team that can... Run the offense into that. a Florida, a Missouri, Mississippi state can do.
Speaker: Will you be able to stop anybody? Interesting. that's a lot very Memory serves. He went to Mississippi State last year and gave up 35 points right off the bat.
Speaker: So... So you're saying – Will they potentially be a playoff team? Yes. I don't think they'll be a top national title contender. Absolutely not. I think they're – Bobby mentioned it with Miami. Miami's better than Texas right now, I think.
Speaker: Georgia still has Texas' number. so
Speaker: call me when i so you're calling me what Call me when you beat Georgia. That's all I'm going to say. All right, so so what you're really saying is that you're pissing on their chances, just like Colin Simmons. Pretended that he was pissing in the troughs at UT Knoxville, baby.
Speaker: um i'm just I'm just saying, you have a tougher schedule if you get through that schedule. You know what? I'll eat crow, but until that day comes... I don't think you're gonna get through it.
Speaker: you make you are You may lose three games in that schedule. They could, but you know what? Three games in the SEC, as I've talked about, because they have a nine -game conference scheduled now, could get an SEC team in in May. I think it will.
Speaker: Honestly, i think I think a three -loss team from the SEC does get in. This year. He got in last year. group Three last team got in last year. That's true But I mean, specifically from the SEC.
Speaker: Uh, Mark! It was from the SEC. It was out there. Okay, AP. I get it. and uh... mark Tell me what you would have done.
Speaker: If I was Colin Simmons and I went out there and I did that little celebration. You're the coach. What are you saying? What do you say to that, man? I mean, obviously you tell him you can't do that. But at the same time.
Speaker: I'm probably laughing. why I got you. cracking the fuck up you cracking the fuck up And it's even funnier when you find out. That apparently... And I only know this because i I'm from, i'm not from Tennessee, but I live in Tennessee. In Knoxville, they have The draws. That you pitching.
Speaker: so apparently that like that's what he was trying to Although, i'm not I'm not making any excuses. You can't do that whatsoever. It looked very, very bad. But I get the context now. If you explain it that way, you know what I mean?
Speaker: Still wow Yeah. Oh my god, yeah, was you can just can't do that. Alright, cool! UHH! Bobby G, who are you guys, your winner in this one?
Speaker: Hey, you can't pick yourself. Oh.
Speaker: Um... Yeah, I gotta go more I don't think Texas is overrated
Speaker: Okay, there you go. Uh, Marv, who you got? I... I mean... Yeah, it's it's to you, man. that it it They got a wide receiver, this.
Speaker: that's going to be competing with Jeremiah Smith all year for, like, uh at Fred Belitnikoff, so. Um, mm -hmm Yeah, I might have to go. from Bobby and the U.
Speaker: Malachi Tony. AP, break the tie. Who you got?
Speaker: I wanted to go with Mark, but I also don't believe in Notre Dame either, so I got to go with Bobby. o Oh! Going with Bobby, gee!
Speaker: Um... Why don't you believe in Notre Dame? I mean, yes. it's they're They're going to win a majority of their games because of their schedule. I actually think they'll lose to Miami, and they might actually lose to BYU.
Speaker: Mmm. Okay. There you go. Um... I think I agree with Mark. I don't think Texas is a fraud AP. You could be right and just because of the tough schedule they have. i don't think that necessarily makes them a fraud i just think it makes the sec a tough division to play in and i still think they're one of the best in the country. I have to because I picked them to win the championship, so it's not like I can go at all for that.
Speaker: Miami, though, Again, really good. they're going to There's no way they don't win the ACC unless, like, Somehow they have a Manny Rodriguez six loss in a row run or some shit.
Speaker: uh shots fired uh old coach there uh and so i'm yeah i i agree Bobby G gets the point on that one. Let's move it on. To our NFL. Quarterback.
Speaker: Hot sheet! addition of defend Sacrifice And destroy! And so here basically... Mar and Bobby G have played this game before.
Speaker: AP, you have not yet. We will give you a bunch of choices of quarterbacks. And you will pick three of them. One you will defend that you're locked. Your top pick. Somebody you're going to sacrifice, you don't...
Speaker: fully believe in them yet you put them to the side and then somebody you're destroying that means you completely do not believe in them for their season, for their career, whatever. It may...
Speaker: B. All right, cool. So let's go ahead and give you... our Teams, our quarterbacks here, excuse me. We have... but These are all young quarterbacks now. I only did young quarterbacks that are struggling. right now.
Speaker: so we got I take Jake's. Denver. Broncos, Bo Nix, we've got the Tennessee... Titans Cam Ward, the Houston Texans. DJ Stroud.
Speaker: The New England... Uh, patsies. Uh, Drake may The Jaden DJ. Jaden Daniels, excuse me. From... The Washington Commanders.
Speaker: Jordan, love. From the Green Bay Packers. And... Justin Herbert! From... The Los Angeles Chargers. Stop! Those are your options. Shoes 3.
Speaker: And you're going to defend. sacrifice and destroy ap i'm going to come to you last because i know that this is a new game For you. So. ah Bobby G, we'll come back and start with you on this one. Who you got?
Speaker: Can I like destroy all of them? Is that a national theme? Mike. I liked it. I like it. let's keep it a buck man um Like that yes, I was my fan Jaden Daniels ah Okay. his Because his issue isn't performative, his health.
Speaker: Mmmmm! You know? He just can't stay healthy. I mean when he's on the field he performs. He just can't stay on the field No. Gotta drink some milk.
Speaker: That boy needs some milk! ah I was sacrifice.
Speaker: It has to be Drake may I mean, I know he's in the rest pass right now, but... He's been to a Super Bowl, and that that means something. regardless of what you think think of the team. Yes, they had a...
Speaker: you know, the schedule. Kind of lended them to have that type of season But... He did his job well enough for them to get to the big game. So... And I'm gonna destroy
Speaker: Can't work. Again. that like I watched him on throughout college. I was not a fan of his. I was not a fan of him being the number one overall pick.
Speaker: And I mean, unfortunately. He's proving me right thus far in this young NFL career.
Speaker: mm -hmm Yeah, and and look, you when you talk about Daniels, the thing about that is... The commanders are still... uh, you know, cur and Not cursed, but... I guess, downtrodden. or realistic.
Speaker: that the last time they had a great quarterback who was rookie of the year, RG3 got hurt with similar injuries. And so when you have somebody that has now been injured, Three times with the same injury.
Speaker: on arms where you're a quarterback. And the last time that happened... was with your, you know, rookie of the year, savior quarterback of the franchise.
Speaker: You're gonna be a little weary. You're gonna be like, okay, what's happening now? Do we need to start making backup plans here at some point? We need to maybe think about it. And then you look at Drake May.
Speaker: You're right, Bobby G. Like he... He had the Super Bowl run last year. He was second runner -up in the MVP. Um... But at the same time, we've seen plenty of quarterbacks. Fall off the cliff.
Speaker: in in years two, years three, and never. Come back. Again, I can think of... uh you know a couple of off the top of my head The ones on this list.
Speaker: Yeah. true True statement. The very true statement. Alright, cool. Who you got Mar who you defend sacrifice and destroy e I'm a defend Joint love.
Speaker: Okay. I... is because I... I feel like he's probably the lesser of all evils right here.
Speaker: But the talent is there With joy and love. It's the... and he's Get out of his own way and and just take what the defense gives him. It's always... it I just think it's him He he gets in his own head. get plays.
Speaker: until it the day. whatever situation it is. like That. Playoff game win. he was Thank you. Oh, no. 49ers and then you lay up. Oh, it's first down. I'm just going to...
Speaker: You know. Try to be Superman and Dean just throw a pick. He ain't like, dog, what are you? When he does stuff like that, I'm like, bro, what are you doing? So. I think. if they actually got a coach that... had some balls.
Speaker: and got rid of LaFleur's punk ass. and and had a coach that would Tell Jordan like, hey. Cut this silly shit out. and focus. and get on his ass. I feel like It would be. benefits for him, but.
Speaker: Uh, I'm a sacrifice.
Speaker: I'm going to sacrifice Justin Herbert. Alright. There you go.
Speaker: I... I...
Speaker: I can't explain why he's not doing good. maybe his coach, maybe his situation. I don't know. Maybe it's kosher. Maybe it's situation. I don't know. The guy has the talent. He's just is not clicking in. in with the Chargers organization. There's been moments where he looks good and there's moments where...
Speaker: He looks crazy bad. i don't I don't know what it means. Um, But I've got to destroy Bo Nix. Oh, get him.
Speaker: I don't know
Speaker: I've never seen a player in my life. for the last year and a half. Clearly beat them. stream butt cheeks, booty juice for three quarters. Booty juice?
Speaker: Terrible. for three quarters. and then somehow just pulls some magic out of his ass in the fourth quarter and I... Also, i will give I mean, it does help when that defense...
Speaker: Starts getting you turnovers and start doing what they doing and they give you short possessions and short fields. so I... But it's like broke. Iggy? I... You can't live. a Live by the gun, die by the gun.
Speaker: Can I introduce you to Deshaun Watson? I once. Crazy. one So, I mean, yeah, i'm just going I just think he's a...
Speaker: Yeah, but... oh he but Bo ain't it. Night. Oh, just saying. Bo Nix is not the fix. Is that what you're saying? I don't believe. ah And not a bone lever! Uh, well, nix.
Speaker: Yeah. You don't need a... you don' You apparently don't need a bow. For anything, I take Jake. All right? I'm not even going to say your stereotypical comment on here and get my ass canceled. AP, who you got?
Speaker: In defense, sacrifice, and destroy. It's kind of ironic because I'm actually going to defend Bo Nix. Oh wow! I don't know how you're going to do this. Here's the thing. Let's take a listen. Only a few years into his career, yes, I get it, he struggles at times, but he made it to the AFC Championship game last year, and if not for an injury, he's in the Super Bowl.
Speaker: So let's let's let's start with that. Okay. Okay. Look at the draft class. seat Look at the draft class, too, he was a part of. Drake May, Jaden Daniels. Caleb Williams. He was the sixth quarterback taken in that draft class.
Speaker: And I found this out Sunday night. He's statistically the best out of the six. Statistically, he's the best quarterback out of those six. So... he's He's performed the best out of those out of those guys.
Speaker: As of right now, yes, Drake May went to a Super Bowl. james daniels has been to an nfc championship game bonyx afc championship game caleb williams has been great that's been ah it's been a great class so far statistically, he is the best out of that group.
Speaker: so we What statistics? In in and every passing statistic, literally. go Literally every passing statistic, he is better than any of those quarterbacks.
Speaker: I mean, I can't throw a flag on the plate because I don't know, but that doesn't sound right. I mean, I don't know for sure. Literally, I found that out Sunday night. I was like, ah. Okay. I mean, to be fair, he was the oldest of the bunch, too. so he would it kind of gives them an edge a little bit.
Speaker: um All right. as for the As for the sacrifice, it's going to be Jaden Daniels, and it's only because of injury. I mean... we've When we've seen him fully healthy, he's been one of the better quarterbacks in the league. I mean...
Speaker: For God's sake, after after his rookie year, they tried to sit tell him tell us that he was a top 10 quarterback in the league. And you know what? He kind of did play like it. But again, Health has been his problem. He can't stay on the field.
Speaker: When he is on the field, they are a good team in Washington when he's off the field. Dare I say they're spotty at best, although Marcus Mariota did play very well last week against the Seahawks, so I got to give him credit for that.
Speaker: um Yeah, for the sacrifice, it'll probably be Jaden Daniels. And for the last one... This one is tough because The obvious pick here...
Speaker: And you know what? I'm going to go with the obvious pick. It's Cam Ward. Like... I agree with everything Bobby said. Plus... One one play. last week told me everything i needed to know about cam ward is where he's standing back there in shotgun and all of a sudden he just starts Walking.
Speaker: like leisurely walking in the pocket. Not. doing anything and then just Chucks it forward. I'm like come on man at least At least attempt. At least make an attempt to act like you know what you're doing because...
Speaker: My god. And this is why Tennessee fans have turned on him already, is because he's just... It just seems like you don't care. It just seems like he doesn't care about football.
Speaker: Tim. It is. what what is it What is it, Bobby? He's turning into Ben Simmons. Peace. and and I don't know. He cares about football, though.
Speaker: Okay. Hey, I got kids. Cam Ward worked him his himself from a zero -star recruit to number one pick in the draft. So I can't call him Vincent.
Speaker: I won't give him i'll give him that, but... especially for my Especially what I saw last week where you can't even score until the fourth quarter.
Speaker: I get it the weather was bad. But you're also playing a very bad Giants team right now that just lost. half their roster. And you made them look good?
Speaker: So... I'm sorry. So far, how is Bobby G... Offline? Going to compare a legend.
Speaker: Like Mike Trout. To Ben Simmons. but will not. Compare Cam Ward! To Ben Simmons. I think we have a problem here. Because Mike Trout is satisfied.
Speaker: Not even with mediocrity. With just... Sad. Which is being a being a loser. Yeah. Just like Ben Simmons when he was in college. And had a chance to go to ah the MIT tournament and get a trophy. Said, nah, I'm cool.
Speaker: Mike drum is saying, nah, I'm cool. i don't I don't want to leave the angels. I'm good here. ah On, on. on, uh... Ap's, you know statement It is true.
Speaker: The 2024 draft of QBs, Drake May has the most passing yards. He has the most touchdowns He also has the most interceptions. Mmm.
Speaker: mindy And has thrown... and has thrown the most passes. So. so and And he's also played played the most games.
Speaker: So. While true, you know. Hmm. Cut. A couple of questions. Yeah. He's had more opportunities, so there's a little bit of an asterisk. Yeah, a little bit, a little bit. He did have a good beginning to his career. He also went to the better team.
Speaker: Right. Right. Yes. that's true you gotta look at it you gotta look at circumstances as well Alright, cool! So Bobby G had Daniel Stroud and Ward. Wildcard Marr had Love, May, and Nyx, and AP had Nyx.
Speaker: Daniels and... award. AP, who was your winner of this argument? I'm going to go Bobby because we both agree on Cam Ward. Alright. There you go. Bobby, how about you?
Speaker: Um...
Speaker: Hold on, AP, who did that? You defended Bonex.
Speaker: Uh, uh.
Speaker: But you did you did destroy Cal. then He deserved it. I gotta AP.
Speaker: All right Go ahead and break the tie, Mar. Who got that one? Nah, I was going to go AP because he had the... the damn boss to ah defend Bo Nix. Like, gotta get it.
Speaker: body credit that to do with that I mean, I'm with you on that because I completely just like i could completely disagree with that. Bo Nix is not. He's not. I said it since he came in the league. I don't care if he was drafted sixth. in that first round he should have never been drafted in the first round that was the problem um And look, just because you have a good start
Speaker: Doesn't mean anything. We've seen... Lots of quarterbacks, as I mentioned earlier. that have had, I mean, Carson Wentz. is is now Barely starting in Minnesota, he was one of the same. Had a good couple first years. And so we've seen this this this story. over and over and over before. It's not like...
Speaker: Mitchell Trubisky. Had a couple good years. Like, I mean... you you just You see this sometimes. where quarterbacks are not able to regain their you know initial Um, greatness. And maybe that's because...
Speaker: People started to learn. how to defend against that certain quarterback. um Or, you know, maybe. The quarterback wasn't ready yet. and we see that maybe with a with um you know as like sam donald who now is a Super Bowl winning quarterback, but saw ghosts.
Speaker: in New York when he was there and clearly wasn't ready yet. So we'll see what happens. The Chargers, we talked about it last night on. I'm Marshall. A complete mismanagement of pieces and coaches.
Speaker: uh just it's a horrible situation there um The Texans... What are we doing, man? CJ Stroud, I know, WG, you said you never believed in him.
Speaker: I thought that he was at least... that first year going to be when he when he showed, you know, people that were all criticizing him, I thought that at least... He had a good trajectory.
Speaker: And then he had the bad offensive line, and so you blamed it on that the year after. um And he still doesn't have a great offensive line, neither does Herbert. But at some point, you got to take...
Speaker: accountability for where your team is it's not just always Oh, my team sucks too. Great quarterbacks. uplift their team's To be better. Like Mahomes. Shout out Stinson. via lohu chimed in with Mahomes. Yeah, he wasn't on this, ah but I'm sure Maher as always, as a Chiefs fan, is defending.
Speaker: Mr. Mahomes. well That being said... Don't have to. Yep. Now I don't have to defend my homes. He goes he goes on the field and... and Proves it himself how good he is. oh i got I ain't got to defend that man.
Speaker: Okay. No, you're right. Nothing wrong with that. All right, cool. Well, there you go for our debate. Let's go ahead. And moving on into our... Game picks.
Speaker: ah For the day. So let's go ahead and get our college football. Game picks up. There we go. All right So. Now this week. We've got three games with rent.
Speaker: Opponents! We're going to go ahead and go around the horn. Everybody is going to give their picks. for these three games. So let's start with you, AP. Your pick for Alabama at Mississippi State.
Speaker: Hang on, Rose. quick the last time Mississippi State beat Alabama was 2007.
Speaker: It has been a very long time, but also... that wast That was a pre... Nick Saban, Dynasty, Alabama team. Wait, 2007?
Speaker: Yeah. That's a long -ass time. Or at the very least, it probably was. Didn't Dak beat Alabama? I don't think he did, no. It doesn't say it did. That he did. Interesting. Luca?
Speaker: like this is where he beat alabama they became number one and then they lost the next week is number one. me. I don't know I'll have to go back and look that look at that. if they If it was more recent, it probably was that because, again, that that Mississippi State team was number two in the country. so um I'll have to go back and look at that again, I guess. but um I'm actually going to pick Mississippi State.
Speaker: With the upset. I love Kamario Taylor. I think he's a dark horse Heisman candidate. I think this Mississippi seat State team is better than what they were last year.
Speaker: when they had their 4 -0 start last year. And you can see them play spoiler to a lot of teams this year. so Give me Mississippi State where the home up's at. Hey, P, you were correct. Dak Prescott did not beat Alabama. He has an 0 -2 record. against them losing 25 -20 in Tuscaloosa. lusa and then in 2015 losing 31 -6 at home in Mississippi State. So, no, Dak Prescott did not beat Alabama. All right, cool. ah
Speaker: Uh, um... uh Mar, excuse me, what do you got in this game? You know how to speak.
Speaker: No, i'm um'm I'm with AP, man. um Right, right. That quarterback from Mississippi State, I saw him up. Boom. I saw watching the game last week.
Speaker: You can. with this job done. and Missouri and Starkville, but... Because that guy, he was... And his... Is that accuracy on the deep throw? some of the best in in the nation. I mean, he was dropping something.
Speaker: and dimes Dropping them right in the bucket ah So... ah If this was normal Alabama, and then I wouldn't i wouldn't hesitate. but This ain't normal Alabama. and This ain't normal.
Speaker: Mississippi State. so I'm rocking with it. I'm rocking with them Bulldogs, man. It's a mistake. Yeah, big facts, man. i'm I'm... I'm really high.
Speaker: Uncle Mario Taylor as well. And it seems like everybody in the nation is. talking about his tools. that going into the future ah could be something amazing in the NFL. Ah, Bobby G, what you got?
Speaker: Bama. Roll tide. Whoa!
Speaker: Bama! All right. Any reason for that? Just because. I just hate the state of Mississippi. Okay. You should leave it right there.
Speaker: All right. We will leave it there and move on to our next game, Ohio State at Iowa. Bobby G, we'll start with you since you're from Cleveland. What's good here? Um...
Speaker: In my heart. I want Ohio State to lose. I hope they lose every game they ever play. Um... But they're going to win. They're going to crush Iowa. They're going to win probably by late.
Speaker: 2730 points. Why do you not like OSU from when you're from that area? I'm just wondering. i don't know Um... I've always been a hurricane fan. Just put it like it doesn't I don't hate them because I'm a hurricane fan I was always a Hurricane fan.
Speaker: But, nah, my mind comes from... when when I was hooping in high school. and i got a letter i i was not a five -star recruit by any stretch imagination but i look i I gotta look from a few Big Ten schools.
Speaker: but i did not get one from ohio state and that that hurt seeing as i was from ohio so A limited little jilted lover! On the sidelines, no problem. which I would not have gone there.
Speaker: Either way, I was going somewhere else. but ah It was just been nice for the recognition So you were not the next Jeremiah Smith at a wide receiver. You got it. I don't want to even know. What what position did you play? I wasn't even watching. Football, I played safety.
Speaker: And basketball is a point guard. so Alright, little Gary Payton action. Alright, cool. Uh, um, uh, Mark, who you got in this one?
Speaker: Uh...
Speaker: ah Hope they got somebody that can cover Ah! Yeah, Ohio State. Look, it's cute, Iowa. I used to live there. Great place.
Speaker: and some great people, still got lifelong friends. Go back there. Uh, Food is is actually relatively good, depending on what part of Iowa you're in. i But no, um... Yeah.
Speaker: I ain't got enough. Ain't got nobody there to cover that. Oh, that is Jeremiah Smith. so um Look. Y 'all pretty much have to throw a whole side of your defense to his side just to make sure that he don't get off.
Speaker: So play that. Yeah. It's Ohio State. because They still got talent outside of Jeremiah Smith. So y 'all focusing on Jeremiah, somebody else is going to get busy.
Speaker: Yeah, that's big facts. Big facts. All right, AP, who you got? Oh, sorry. Go ahead, Mark. i thought you My fault. It needs to be Brandon Enos. You've been missing. What the hell going on with your ass? You over here.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Cool. AP, what do you got? I have Ohio State as well. But I will say I think I was gonna make it interesting
Speaker: I don't think they'll win at the end of the day because, like Mar said, Ohio State just has too much talent across the board. But I was gonna give him a fight because it is a home game for them. So Mm hmm.
Speaker: Okay. Uh, look. yeah i mean osu they're they're a dominant just like miami i said earlier look year in year out always having a good team Um, and... Iowa, they're They're normally in the top.
Speaker: At least 25. um but they've never been a dominant powerhouse I mean, they've always had... Issues. uh scoring uh especially over the past few years BUT!
Speaker: That was not the last time that Ohio State went into Iowa. Your sports professor's stat for this game. the last time Iowa visited Ohio State, excuse me. visited Iowa City.
Speaker: There was a 55 -24 Hawkeyes win. That kept OSU out of the 2017. Playoff.
Speaker: No Playoffs! Playoffs! Okay well bye y 'all! So we'll see if that happens. Again this time. All right. well being that this is your account and your team we are going to start with you my friends Florida at Missouri. This is a big one.
Speaker: Missouri rated, but Florida is... ah Whooping everybody's ass right now. Let's just say that. It's not like they ain't taking it easy. on anybody here. But I'm hoping Mar has some insight. into why ah yeah Missouri will be the one to take down.
Speaker: Order. Yeah, my insight is they won't be. Okay. All right! This is my... as much As much as I love my Mizzou Tigers, I will be shocked if they get this victory.
Speaker: ah They fumbled last week. against Mississippi State. when they were ranked 29th. ah Mississippi State was 24. I think Ford is better. They're eighth ranked. We're 25th ranked.
Speaker: after taking that aid. That loss, but it has... everything to do with Eli Drinkowitz, our coach. He's just not good against ranked teams, and he's not good against ranked SEC teams.
Speaker: Um... he choked He choked big time with some coaching decisions last week. and uh I think a Tiger doesn't change his stripes and he'll choke again this week. So give me four.
Speaker: Ooh! Wow. That's some ah real commentary. Mizzou, you better tune in. When someone this smart about football is telling you how to fix your team, you might want to do something about it. All right. AP, who you got in this one?
Speaker: I'm going Florida too. I mean... They have the nation's best running back. They have a really good defense. and uh They may mess around and get into the SEC title game. Who knows?
Speaker: I really like this Florida team right now. So I'm going to take Florida. There you go, BG, who you got? Yeah, sorry more Um, Oh, yeah, you ain't got to apologize. I go to Florida. I think.
Speaker: i think I think Missouri got exposed. And... But I don't think they got exposed by Mississippi State. I think they got exposed by Troy. And Mississippi State took that recipe and took it. You go back to that Troy game, man. Troy gave him the bid. One bad quarter.
Speaker: That's really what it was. that's that there's One bad quarter. cause Missouri couldn't score the rest of the game. You know, got the late field goal to kind of put them up double digits, but... Yeah. Join. against a Troy team that had no business being in that game.
Speaker: Right. Troy came out and got on him like Eddie did. So and I think that kind of let the rest of the country see something and you see what happened the very next week So.
Speaker: Um... Yeah, I think Florida takes takes bits of what... what a Troy. uh used to work well against them they take bits of what Mississippi State used and uh Unfortunately, God. Two in a row. Two L's in a row.
Speaker: Mm hmm.
Speaker: Yeah, I mean, look. Florida, again. I know their coach, John Sumrall, didn't even believe in him last week. He was like... when they said they picked him to beat Ole Miss. all the experts he was like well y 'all must be taking some good drugs uh but apparently He was the one that was hallucinating. And maybe he was just trying to tamper down his team's expectations.
Speaker: But Florida, again, Is a, uh... It's a very good team. this year um but They as well. As AP mentioned earlier, with Texas having to play them.
Speaker: They got to play Texas. They got to play Georgia. Again, this is the SEC. They all have to play each other. So these teams are all going to be losing games. No matter what. Before it is off to a hell of a start, I can tell you that much. I will say that. I will say this. Remember, Florida beat Texas last year with DJ Lagway.
Speaker: So. and they have a better And they have a much better team than they did last year. so but I cannot disagree with that. They definitely have a much better team. than they did last year. True. ah Goodbye, rather, to number eight Texas A and &M. after losing 35 -6 to LSU. They're now two and two and most likely out of the playoff conversation for all intents and purposes at this point in time.
Speaker: um All right, cool. Let's move it on. to our NFL picks. For the weekend. And so here. We have... The Thursday night game. Bobby G, we start with you. This is your account.
Speaker: You're Cleveland Browns in primetime. How the hell did y 'all get a primetime game when we didn't? i don't understand this is crap Anyways, I still love you. Go ahead Uh... I'm going with the Browns.
Speaker: Uh... Pittsburgh is... is One and eight in the last eight. in Cleveland. Oh, good stat. 0 -3 on Thursday nights. Wow!
Speaker: Hang a store. Historically, I think... i think The - We're overall 11 -1. on. Thursday nights. What? I believe so. I believe i mean it ah that only loss was like to the Ravens. to Lamar Jackson.
Speaker: Bathroom game. I think that was the only Thursday night game we've we've ever lost. At home. Yeah, definitely. That was the boo -boo game. Yeah. Yeah, the boo -boo. yeah but um for whatever reason uh since 2018 we've had the steelers number at home and Like...
Speaker: Yes. with What's on the line? and the way Todd Munkin motivates his team. They're going to be fired up. This is is the biggest game biggest regular season game. We've had at home since A few years ago we had an opportunity to clinch the playoffs against the Jets.
Speaker: Also on Thursday night, and we won won that game. Um, So, I don't know, man. There's just something about Thursday nights in Cleveland, too. Yeah, you know, i'm I'm happy that you said this I was actually waiting to come on the show to get your opinion in my picums?
Speaker: uh because i was going to pick the browns but then i was like man I just don't believe in Deshaun Watson, so I'm going to go with the Steelers, who had a good win over the Bengals last week. And I was like, you know what? Let me just wait to hear what Bobby G got to say. And you came with all these excellent statistics.
Speaker: They now make me pick the Browns in all my pick -ems tonight. I mean, you can go back. What is it, 26? Go back to 24. It was the last time we played the Steelers. That was the Jameis Winston -Snow game.
Speaker: that was also up start Oh, I remember that. Snow Angels. Yes. Yeah, that was third. All right. Interesting. I'm picking Cleveland. I don't know about anybody else. Mark, who you got?
Speaker: Yeah, um I mean... Just kind of splitting the hairs with the with the quarterback situation. um as ah Aaron Rodgers on the decline and Deshaun Washington is.
Speaker: one, two in a row. um Like. Bye. You know. Better than Bo Nix type play where he's not playing well, but all of a sudden he just makes the plays when it matters. so it Um...
Speaker: Uh...
Speaker: I got to go with the with the better defense, which is Cleveland. Um, And I know Aaron Rodgers is going to be good at trying to get the ball out of his hands. Wait. DK Metcalf has a No hands.
Speaker: Neither does Michael Pittman. Hands of stone. hat The hands on it. I don't know. DK be open. And and'd be having a... a it ah DB's beat.
Speaker: That ball could come close to him and he just get the fumbling and bumbling. He's a coin tosser. He's going to catch that bitch. Um, I don't trust. Trust anything offensively on the steroids, which is... It's surprising that this quote unquote revamped Bengals defense has got 30 put on their head.
Speaker: Um... Mm -hmm. So... Big twist. The better defense is Cleveland, so I'm going to go with the Browns. And you know what's funny there is - Pittman dropped two crucial catches. This past game as well. Go ahead, Bobby G.
Speaker: I would say just so AP has accurate information to work with. Yes, we are 10 and 2 all time at home on Thursday nights.
Speaker: 10 -2. There you go. AP, who you got? I mean... Cleveland. Great Thursday night team, and they just seem to have Pittsburgh's number right now.
Speaker: than they have for like what the last five six seven years bobby They're going back to 20 2018 They have a win -less streak. because the first game, the 2018 game was a tie.
Speaker: So. Yeah. Give me Cleveland at home. Cleveland at home all day. Cleveland at home. Mar, we start with you on the next one. Lions at Panthers. Who you got? Yeah, Panthers 2 beat up. Surprisingly, though, we'll give props to ah Bryce Young, he's is playing pretty damn good football right now.
Speaker: Uh, and I don't know if he'll have enough pieces or horse. North horses to run the race to. ah Finish. enough What? Of course. you know okay Thought you said something else. No, no.
Speaker: That would be a lot closer to something else. But anyway. i don't know if that's a performance enhancer but Depending on how you look at it, it can be a performance enhancer. That's true.
Speaker: Uh, uh, They're back on track, though. But the Lions, I just think they're... I... Thank you. Dogs on offense man Mm, yeah.
Speaker: Just keep railing. you know, Spitting out names of who they got on the offensive side. so Give me the Lions. even though they've got to fix their defense. Um,
Speaker: You got to start stopping somebody. Um, But yeah, keep it reliant. All right AP who you got?
Speaker: Give me Carolina. Oh, okay. Interesting. The only reason I say that is I have to watch every Sunday night game for obviously our post game show. And Sunday nights have been weird.
Speaker: Sunday nights have been very weird this year so far. I would not be surprised if Carolina messed around and won this game, so give me Carolina. Mm -hmm. I mean, yeah, i mean it's not it's not too far off the beaten path that...
Speaker: that they could they've played a couple of good games this year um i mean I'm not tremendously sold, but we'll see what happens. a like And like Mark said, Detroit's defense is Swiss cheese.
Speaker: Yeah. Okay. There you go. BG. Um, contrary to proper belief. you know swiss cheese when it's whole it has no holes in it That's neither here nor there though.
Speaker: I mean, that's crazy. That's true. I know, I get it. Uh... But AP this ain't gonna be weird caroline Both of their starting corners, they just put them on IR. and their best receiver. They just put on IR.
Speaker: It's a wrap. They... Gave up 60 to the bears that they might give up 110 to the lions. Bruh. This game is going to be. Ugly. Um... Yeah, so, I mean, if if you... if you Can't pick up and put it down.
Speaker: I'm picking the lions. Mm -mm. I hope so. There you go. thank you I don't want to stay up to another overtime game again, for God's sake. did It ain't going to be that. you'd like You actually have to have players on ah offense. but do The choice is they're going to double.
Speaker: to it. put eight in the box and dare Bryce Young to beat him with Devin from Kmart. who will be their number two wide receiver.
Speaker: Not Devin from Kmart. Shout out to Devin. Sorry you got shots fired. Hope your Kmart job is going well. Anyways, we'll keep it moving. Falcons and Saints, BG, who you got in this?
Speaker: Um... Oh, this one, yeah. Uh... 20th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. Big night. Is it really? Wow. Yeah. cool that even For those who don't remember the first. first game that they played.
Speaker: Once the dome reopened after Katrina was the Falcons. Uh, oh. most unreal atmosphere for a regular season NFL game. in history. i think it'll be that again of course there'll probably be lots of tributes leading up to it Didn't be pumped, man. Give me the Saints.
Speaker: is the fact Just wrong place, wrong time for the Falcons. No, yeah, especially in the division. where I didn't know all that Wow and the same team they played at that point Yeah, yeah and and it was a Monday night game. So it's it's a literal anniversary Wow, they really playing that. NFL is good at that. um Yeah, I mean, that wow, that's a storyline for you. Mar, who you got in this one?
Speaker: Yeah, I... Hey, there's some things you just can't mess with and some things is... ah like nostalgia and voodoo. Hang on. Oh, man. going down in New Orleans.
Speaker: All Monday. And like, Bobby said that the anniversary and all that. And I'm willing to bet. They gonna have Steve Gleeson's ass up in that bitch. Don't wait. Hmm.
Speaker: And. And. It's... We have one. Steve Gleason didn't pass away, did he? No, no, he's still alive. Okay. no Drew Brees is going to be in the building.
Speaker: Oh, yeah, Drew's going to be in the building. Steve Gleason's going to be in there. And then once they have a shot at him, they're definitely going to go. crazy. Um, and then play like, Wait. Bobby, you you know what I'm talking about. just yeah Just juju. Just damn. ju certain shit you just but like I should have known. Week one.
Speaker: When they had all the 9 -1 -1 shit going down and the Giants was... was Oh yeah. I should have known that the the Giants was going to play a certain different type of football. Because you can't you can't go out there and lose.
Speaker: You can't. You can't lose. With that so much sentimental and... and juju going on is is embarrassing. You don't want to be known as a team. and hey man The anniversary of the Hurricane Katrina game.
Speaker: These motherfuckers lost. Now, you don't want to be known as that team. faint It's gotta be fate, right? It's gotta be fate. you don't just say he can't You can't lose that game. You can't. hey ki You just got too much stuff going against you, Atlanta.
Speaker: Just too much. All right. Hey P, who you got? Never mess with Louisiana Juju. All as as Somebody who's had to deal with Louisiana juju for a while, i .e. oh the LSU Tigers.
Speaker: Oh, okay. but you know yeah never never but Never mess with LSU Juju. Or Louisiana Juju. gi me Give me New Orleans.
Speaker: Give me New Orleans. I thought you had pissed off a girl down in New Orleans one weekend. can well you don't know You don't know that for sure. You don't know that for sure. ah Hey! uh everybody make sure that if you if you can you go out and support causes like als you don't have to donate you can do the walk for als in your local town it's coming up this weekend. I will be doing the walk for ALS this weekend for two of my personal friends. Shout out David Dubois and Tanea Brooks, who y 'all know as Rebel.
Speaker: Uh... Sending love out to them AEW Wrestler Rebel As well Chris Johnson came out with his diagnosis this year. so um you know we need to find a cure for this horrible disease that you know it's just it's it's it's mind -boggling That.
Speaker: with with all the stuff we've got down in science. that there's still some things that we can't find out. What's the root cause of them? And this is one of them. So we just got to keep. uh you know supporting getting the word out donating if it's possible and you feel like doing so Shout out and love to everybody who has ALS. We're praying for you.
Speaker: All right. well We'll move it on into our locks. and our upsets of the week as hard as that is to do from one subject to another ah Let's go ahead. The...
Speaker: College football, NFL, you can pick any game. But... To be alive, you must... Cover the spread. And the upset. Must be an NFL plus seven. or college football plus 10.
Speaker: Underdog. Remember, you get one point for a correct... Luck! But you lose two points if you get it wrong. You get two points for a correct. upset but you get one point if you get it wrong All right.
Speaker: Let's start with you, Mar, on this one. What you got?
Speaker: UGH! NFL luck. Um... Shit. uh
Speaker: It moves. Who the Cardinals playing? Let me check for you. ah They are playing... Cardinals! Giants. Giants at home.
Speaker: Giants are at home. The Giants at home and their favorite. The Cardinals are favored. No, no, I ain't touching that. I'm kidding.
Speaker: That's actually one that that that kind of looked like the Cardinals might get out. I get one on that one. Um...
Speaker: We're here. Shit doggy. I will. No, just just because of all the injuries that they got going on. i Go ahead. Give me the ah three and a half. a lot for the Lions in Carolina Sunday night.
Speaker: um I know. Because even... ah ah Even if they're trying to downplay it and call it minor, like even I think Bryce Young has a groin injury I just saw. so Let's do it. Yeah. as a quarterback that he has a growing injury whether they want to call it minor or not um ah Yeah, give you give me the Lions.
Speaker: Right. like three and a half. i I think they'll have too much offense. because even Devin Lloyd, the best linebacker, he's he's having some injury problems. Um, Yeah.
Speaker: I'm feeling comfortable. Oh. about that one. all Alright, once you're upset... Uh... Upset Uh... Let's...
Speaker: yes I... Earlier, we talked about Mississippi State, Alabama. They're calling Alabama a six point. favorite I... And...
Speaker: Let me go ahead and and get that as an upset. Cause I think, uh, I just think Mississippi State wins outright anyway. so uh So they'll they'll definitely cover that. at 96th and Alabama being the favorite. wow Oh, I...
Speaker: My bad, Marv. We changed the CFP. You've got to be a 10 -plus underdog. Because plus seven was two was too easy. So we got to do plus 10. Oh, my fault. um Are you good?
Speaker: E. Well, shit doggy. We can come back to you in a second. I will Okay, so... ah Ohio State's 14 and a half. I i think.
Speaker: Iowa will might cover that. They got too much pride. They're gonna... try their hardest. and not to let Jeremiah Smith score four touchdowns. Mwah. We just have just two.
Speaker: You know what I'm saying? Oh my gosh, yes. Uh -uh. I would have beat Ohio State. Yeah. All right. I can rock with that. Iowa covers. if you If you want to change it, because it was changed. The first time y 'all played, it was plus seven, but then I was like, that's too easy for college.
Speaker: I ain't sure. Thank you, man. Cool. All right, so Iowa over Ohio State for its upset. All right, Bobby G, who you got?
Speaker: No, give me the bills Patriots man That's my lock. Or your lock. All right. Yeah. The Patriots got beat up by the freaking. Jaguars. Yeah.
Speaker: Buffalo ain't the Jaguars. They're much much better. Six and a half points spread there. Mhm. Yeah, I think they went by double digits. Mm. Alright.
Speaker: Am I upset? Come on, man. yeah What are we talking about? Okay. Browns. some For some odd reason, the Stiller's a favorite.
Speaker: No, tomorrow night. Wait, no, no, no. Wait, no. but It has to be a plus seven, though, for an underdog, Bobby G. NFL has to be plus seven.
Speaker: Huh? NFL has to be blessed. Plus seven for our underdogs. They're only a two and a half. An underdog an underdog. What are we talking about here, man? No, no. It's got to be a little harder than that.
Speaker: A home underdog, that that that's really... That really means it'd be plus seven if they were in Pittsburgh. i i love how you just went betting on me that's so true though you you're not at all would be They would be adding three to that line if they were.
Speaker: Um... and mean look I mean, look at the schedule. Thank you. I appreciate it. AP, who you got? Who the hell is a 7 .0? You guys, let's see. Alright.
Speaker: Ah. he Chargers and Seahawks. dolphins vikings Titans, Ravens. And, man, there's nothing else close. Jesus.
Speaker: Oh, and... And Patriots Buffalo. and At six and a half, I'll give you that.
Speaker: Uh... It's all I can give you. Anyway... They ain't winning.
Speaker: Because I don't know that the Browns or the Steelers is really an upset. All right, sleep. hidden um You're about to see. I don't understand how we're three -point underdogs. But it is Houston at home, so.
Speaker: Yeah. No, y 'all are favorite. No, we're underdog. Or at least on ESPN bit, we're underdog. Shut up, Betty Hellman dollar.
Speaker: Where are you looking at, Omar? let need to get I'm looking at ESPN. So this is the problem where if I think somebody's gonna be somebody underdog always prevail period the lines are gonna lose That's the same thing anybody said last week, who ain't winning.
Speaker: And guess what happens? Eh? Kuh. I mean, yeah, if you're looking at it betting wise. We're not actually betting money on it.
Speaker: Bye. I'm gonna take it.
Speaker: to the collegiate ranks. That's easy. Ain't none of them pro dogs with it. Trimble.
Speaker: i'm not putting my faith in the freaking Miami Dolphins. I'm not mad at that
Speaker: All right, and NCAA. lines. AP, you want to go while Bobby G is looking that up? ah Yeah, um...
Speaker: Seattle. for the lock. I think that's pretty simple. because they were pretty pissed off after their performance last week. And they'll be at home. Seven points over the Chargers.
Speaker: Yeah, Chargers, good luck. That's all I'm going to say. Um... And then upset? I'm gonna go Arkansas. to beat Texas A and &M. On the road. o All right.
Speaker: Arkansas over Texas. i believe I believe they're 14 .5 -point underdogs to the Aggies. So give me Arkansas. Why not? Give me Arkansas.
Speaker: Yeesh! There you go, Arkansas. ah You want to talk about a fraudulent team, Texas A &M, my God. Oh, man.
Speaker: Yeah, they are. That's what we said earlier. They are frauds. They're probably not going to get into the playoffs at all. and don't deserve to the way they've been playing this year. Mike Elko experiment might be dead there.
Speaker: Um... All right. Coming back to you, Bobby G. What you got? Give me.
Speaker: I'm gonna have a du with double buffalo then. Give me the buffalo bulls. Ooh, deep cut. ah Yeah. versus Western Michigan.
Speaker: Versus Western Michigan. Buffalo. Alright, cool. 14 points. There you go. Western Michigan. Perfect. Thank you, Bobby G, for playing along with but that. I might have to look at that for Lock It In. Thanks, Bobby.
Speaker: well There you go. fashion under me on my arm I have to look at that for Lock It In. Thanks, Bobby.
Speaker: And again, shout out to everybody who's tuning in. There's Esther Jinx right there. When everybody's betting on a team thinking they're going to win. You're going to lose already. Hey, look, man. Betting is a mostly loss.
Speaker: uh kind of game sometimes you win but you mostly lose you just got to be able to win the right amounts and win the most. And that's what helps you get there. That being said, we are going to give you our updated season leaderboard. Bobby G said he wasn't in first place. But he missed out. On the earlier...
Speaker: uh, announcement and ah who affected Flow and AP. Because unfortunately, the referees on the field gave one positive point.
Speaker: For a lock. ah When unfortunately they were ah they were not correct and it was supposed to be a negative 2. So both Flo and AP lost three points. Bobby G, you were actually in first place with 12 points.
Speaker: As Flo is down to 11, Wild Card Mark moves up to 3rd. with eight points and AP moves just a little bit back. to 7 .5 ap i see you putting on Your referee hat, I think you're gonna yell at me right now. It was me, I was referees.
Speaker: There you go um Look, I decided to be fair and I went back just to make sure because I was like, I don't think I did. the lock correctly on the adding and I did not.
Speaker: um So I just want to make sure I did that fair for the rest of everybody. AP, thank you for being so gracious on my mistake. Flo, on the other hand, was like Well, you weren't clear enough. I was like, Flo, this is a game. all right i'm not getting paid for this and none of y 'all are actually getting paid for this either Okay, I need you to work with me here. But anyways, there's your leader boy. We'll see what happens after this.
Speaker: But let's move it on to everybody's favorite part. Of the evening. Real quick, we have our first second round playoff matchup. um Ooh, got our hit it. Second round playoff matchup is the Yankees. Yankees in the Rays. Yankees swept the Red Sox. Yankees in the Rays.
Speaker: Hey, I'm home! Sorry. Thank you. Second. Second. I forgot. Um, white so white so White Sox and Guardians. does a White Sox going to play Bobby G's Guardians, the upstart White Sox. How do you feel about that, Bobby G? What do you think your chances are?
Speaker: We're gonna lose. Oh. No, we're going to lose. There you go. I actually picked the White Sox to beat y 'all too. I think there's still a year ahead. I don't think it's their time to win the World Series, but I do think they will beat the Guardians. um do We make the playoffs just to lose and in the finals. our first Grounds up.
Speaker: Especially if Tanner Bybee's pitching, right? Terrible Ted. Fuck that party. Ha ha! Ah! Ah! Every time. and You know good and damn well you cannot bring that name up around, Bobby. You you know that. We do it. Yeah.
Speaker: That was dirty That was dirty. Yes. That name comes up every time we talk about baseball. He's always bringing up. Bobby G and Tanner Pitt. That's great.
Speaker: All right. So, yeah. let's ah uh keep it moving and that's the other thing i want to see yankees And Red Sox more than two games. I don't want to just see. Anyways. We're going to talk about that tomorrow. On baseball, make sure you tune in to Ball and Bud's 6 Eastern Total Emiseration, 7 Eastern Baseball Show. I got a lot of people to rip tomorrow. Let's move it into everybody's favorite portion of the show. FIGHT HIM!
Speaker: Sacrifice! Trivia! All right. So here we are. You all know how this works. Again, just yell out. If you know the answer.
Speaker: um And we will start off with one point. In college. football Under head coach Chuck Amato, which quarterback took his Wolfpack football team? Phillip Rivers.
Speaker: All right, there you go. The answer is... Philip! Rivers! Good job there, Bobby G. And yeah, you can yell out the answer before if you know it, don't...
Speaker: Wait for me to finish the whole damn question. BFP! Two points. Which former TCU player set NCAA Division I -A record for the most rushing yards? Oh, Bobby G got him.
Speaker: If it was so easy, you should have... How are you going to save Evie if you didn't get get it before him? ra on the play I'm challenging that. Yeah, I was going to say. I was going to say. My wife. or Bobby G's. That's great. And for three points in the college football.
Speaker: In what year did the BYU Cougars go undefeated and win their national... Wow 1984 Bobby G is our role Right now. now Wowzers. NFL! One point. Somebody stop Bobby G.
Speaker: Maybe read a little faster. Which running back set the NFL single season rushing record as AP? AP got it first. No, you didn't stop it.
Speaker: we no we Don't do that. Eric Dickerson is your winner there. Let's go NFL for two points. In what year did the NFL and AFL merge? 1969.
Speaker: No. And you don't get to keep... No. Mark you take a guess. There's not we're not gonna keep doing the guessing thing either like we did last time No, you get one guess now, that's it.
Speaker: I'm not. Nope. It was in 1960.
Speaker: No. Ah, you can take another guess. I said no to that. You can take another. I did say no. You didn't hear me. Not 1960, it's not 1969.
Speaker: 1958. Nope. 1970. One year after 1979. Sorry, AP. One year off.
Speaker: NFL for three. Points! Who's the NFL all -time leading scorer? Oh shit. It's... Um, Adam Brunzer.
Speaker: The answer is Adam. I mean, a cherry. Three points to Bobby G again. Mara, I was hoping you were going to get that there. It's always going to be a kicker. obviously with the most opportunities. I hope you get this one, Ma. I'm rooting for you. I want you in there to get some ah points on the board.
Speaker: Final sacrifice, trivia. This is a hard one by the way Nicknamed the Golden Arm, this legendary quarterback wore jersey number 16 and played for the Louisville Cardinals.
Speaker: From 1951 to 1955. Lee Corso? Lee Corso is wild, son. No, that's not correct. a Uh...
Speaker: One guest for each of you, so be careful. Who is your guest? I know the name. have Hold my hands up so you can see there's no... No Googling. I got no I trust you They went to Notre Dame, right?
Speaker: I don't know about that. I just know what the question tells me.
Speaker: oh Man. I got some nuts. The golden arm. I will give you... a I will give you a hint. He went on to win a Super Bowl in the NFL.
Speaker: Uh... Fuck. You got to think of old quarterbacks and just take a guess, I guess. Johnny Unitas. Whoa, they're in Johnny Is the answer! Is it? Go ahead AP!
Speaker: For five glorious points there. I was thinking it was like. It was like Super Bowl, old school. It's not Bart Starr. It's not Len Dawson.
Speaker: It has to be Johnny Unitas. Johnny Unitas. What a great pool AP there. Thank y 'all. Staubach went to Navy, so it couldn't have been Staubach. See that would have probably I would have probably thought like Staubach or Joe Namath or something like that But yeah, Johnny Unitas name it name it went to Notre Dame. Yes
Speaker: Yeah, see, I don't know everybody's colleges like that. It was either Bart Starr or john Johnny Unitas, so. and Man, looking at the standings. AP is going to...
Speaker: Probably move into second place here, and Bobby G is going to extend his lead into first. So we'll see what happens with the game picks after the weekend. That's 22 right now, right?
Speaker: ah Well, let's see. You had... 12 right now. And you had... Ten. ah Six. Seven. ah Yeah, you're right, 10.
Speaker: 22? On the board for Bobby G, AP, you had... Six, seven. So you'll go up to. 22, which will give you an 11.
Speaker: Points a game. and No, 22, three games. 7 .33 average. And then Mar adds... a point to his total ah Before the game picks, we'll see game picks.
Speaker: That moves them up to nine for now. See, this is the problem with me being on for so many times. It's got to average out instead of that. Yeah, don't worry. I'm not going to do that to you. Everybody's got to go on come on at least five times.
Speaker: That way the average gets everybody, so don't worry. like because It's okay, Pete. Just get used to it. There's only one person. Who can stop me?
Speaker: Is it me?
Speaker: Done. Ha. Ha. ah Oh my goodness, that's great! That's why we ain't here That's why we ain't here. I'm glad I do want to just brief...
