Speaker: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self -control. Galatians 5, 22 -23
Speaker: Gentleness. Heavenly Father, when I think about the fruit of gentleness, I am mindful of of how I approach the world, how I approach others. Am I approaching others with humility and a humble spirit, a posture of listening to understand, or do I approach the world and others with judgment and harshness and a spirit of wanting to be proven right.
Speaker: It is hard to always be gentle, especially when the world is not gentle to me. But I think about
Speaker: The person in the room who brings that gentle spirit to the person who brings that gentle spirit to the conflict, to the conversation, to the one who can be the calmest in the room, who can have a non -anxious presence, and the way that that up approach to a situation just kind of brings the temperature in the room down and brings everybody down to a point of being able to listen again. And so I can see why gentleness is a fruit of your spirit. Just the way we would need to gain the trust of a little puppy or a little kitten by approaching them calmly
Speaker: and gently or gain the trust of ah of a baby or a child by approaching them my approach to people who don't know you, because I may be the only way that they get to know you. And you certainly had.
Speaker: a gentleness about you. Jesus was so gentle. I think about the way he let the little children come to him and the way that he got down on the ground with the woman who was accused of adultery and sat beside her as she was being accused.
Speaker: Lord, please help me to be gentle like you are.
Speaker: Help me to cast off, put aside all of the judgment that wants to rise within me, all of the blame. And help me to approach situations and people with the gentleness of your spirit, of your love. That I would not scare people away, but in the gentleness,
