Main Topics Overview

00:00:33
Speaker
your enemies.
00:00:33
Speaker
On today's episode, I'm going to be talking about the Diddy case. I'm going to be also reacting to how I personally feel about the Diddy case. And then I'm going to be bringing back what grinds my gears, the gym edition. But that's enough of the intro. Let's get to the show.

The Diddy Case: Introduction

00:00:58
Speaker
I know that, um, I will be attacking this issue as well with my sister on a sibling happy hour. And I want to give her the space without my interruption to really voice her opinion about what's going on with Sean Combs, AKA Diddy.
00:01:19
Speaker
But I wanted to take this show and one, give everybody the facts of what's going on because I was talking to somebody earlier and they were reeling off a bunch of stuff. And I was just like, that's not true. So with social media and things of that nature, misinformation can get out there. You know, I kind of say that I'm a journalist kind of sort of. So I want to give you guys the facts as what's been presented so far about the case.
00:01:49
Speaker
And then I'm going to address how I feel about all this

Personal Conflict & Music's Impact

00:01:53
Speaker
personally. And that's gonna be two separate segments. I'm gonna give y'all first the facts of the case and then talk about how I feel about this personally because I'm conflicted.
00:02:05
Speaker
about everything that's going on, but i'm I'll get into how I'm conflicted. And and then once again, on a sibling happy hour, I'm going to give my sister the opportunity to share her thoughts on it, uninterrupted, because I feel like I need to have my space to be able to share what I want to say about this, and she needs to have her space to share what she feels and thinks about all of this. And so this is going to be a two-parter, kind of, sort of.
00:02:34
Speaker
Because this is important. Everything that's going on around this case is very, very important. And everybody needs to know exactly what the facts are and talk about how they feel about this emotionally. Because if you're like me and my sister and a lot of friends of mine, Puffy's music is a soundtrack to our lives.
00:03:02
Speaker
So I'm gonna address all of that in the second segment. But this first segment is just gonna be about the facts of the case, all right?

Indictment Details

00:03:12
Speaker
I'm not gonna interject my own personal feelings. I'm just gonna be a journalist and just give you guys all the information that has been released thus far by the prosecution go that's gonna be prosecuting Diddy, okay? So let's start.
00:03:32
Speaker
with the very first paragraph of the three-count federal indictment against Diddy. So I'm just gonna start with the first paragraph, read that to you guys, okay? Here it is. For decades, Sean Combs, AKA Puff Daddy, a k p didddy a k a didy AKA a P PD, AKA Love, the defendant abused, threatened, coerced women and others around him to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and conceal his conduct.
00:04:05
Speaker
The indictment states, to do so, Combs relied on the employees, resources, and influence of the multifaceted business empire that he led and controlled creating a criminal enterprise whose members and associates engaged in and attempted to engage in. Among other crimes are sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson,
00:04:32
Speaker
bribery and obstruction of justice. That's the first paragraph of the three count federal indictment against Diddy. So they come out and they give you all all his monikers, all of his names. What was interesting to me is that they didn't use puffy, which was originally what he came out with. So I'm thinking that this, uh,
00:05:02
Speaker
Puffy wasn't a part of this indictment. These things started to happen later, and that does come out in an investigation. But basically, the indictment accuses Combs of leading a criminal enterprise. I'll get more into that later. A criminal enterprise with other associates and employees. He alleges he hosted drug-filled freak-offs with victims and sex workers. Notes of instances of physical and sexual abuse.
00:05:31
Speaker
and just illuminates what law enforcement found in the march raids of his home. The indictment alleges Combs held what he called freak-offs or elaborate sexual performances in which he drugged and coerced victims into extended sex acts with male sex workers.
00:05:56
Speaker
These freak-offs occurred regularly and sometimes lasted multiple days, the indictment. This is all stated in the indictment. So I i read you guys the first paragraph. I didn't paraphrase on that, but I'm paraphrasing on the rest of the indictment because the indictment is long. I'm not about to read the entire indictment indictment to you guys. It's available. It's available out there on the internet. You can read it, but I'm just going to break down some of the most important things. These freak-offs are kind of what led to this investigation. But the thing that is fascinating about this case is that it's he's being charged with a RICO.

Understanding the RICO Act

00:06:35
Speaker
Now, a lot of people out there would be like, well, RICO, isn't that for mobsters? Not necessarily, right? So I'm going to give you what the RICO predicate actually he is. The Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, also known as the RICO Act, is a United States federal law enacted in 1970 to combat organized crime. It allows for extended criminal preties penalties,
00:07:00
Speaker
and civil cases of action for acts performed as part of an ongoing criminal under organization. Under RICO, it is illegal to acquire, operate, or receive income from an enterprise through a pattern of racketeering activity. This includes crimes such as murder, kidnapping, gambling, arson, robbery, bribery, extortion, and drug trafficking. To be convicted under RICO, there must be a proof of a pattern of illegal offenses defined as at least two criminal acts within a 10-year period.
00:07:36
Speaker
So most people think that it's just a mafia family. As far as, you know, a mob at mo organizations that um can only be charged with RICO. No, it is anything that is deemed a criminal organization. ah And it follows along that this RICO is, if you've made money off of a criminal organization,
00:08:01
Speaker
And the criminal activities are vast, you know, murder, kidnapping, gambling, arson, robbery, bribery, extortion, drug trafficking. And I'm going to assume also sex trafficking. You can be charged under a RICO predicate. i No, I've read of some cases, especially in Vegas, where they try to get a bunch of pimps, say that they all work together and charge them all under a RICO predicate. But basically, it's as if you and a bunch of people are getting together, running a criminal organization, you can be charged with a RICO charge. And so that's what
00:08:37
Speaker
happened to sham Sean Diddy Combs. He's charged under a racketeering Rico predicate and it's ah it's pretty extensive of what he's being charged with. But let me give you a little bit more details on the case. He was arrested on September 16, 2024 in New York City.
00:08:58
Speaker
The charges, i've got I've broken them down, but and let's break it down again because it was a three-part indictment. And a three-part indictment, basically he's charged with racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. Those are the three charges that he's being charged under this racketeering RICO predicate.
00:09:19
Speaker
The arrest follows federal raids of his home in Los Angeles and Miami about six months ago. ah Combs has been the subject of multiple lawsuits accusing him of sex trafficking and sexual assault. That's what kind of led to this case. At the hearing in Manhattan, Combs pleaded not guilty, and he was also denied bail and was remanded to end the custody. I'm going to get into that later about bail and remanding into custody, but I want to get to the evidence of the case.
00:09:46
Speaker
Authorities have collected extensive evidence including video recordings and testimony from over 50 witnesses. The investigation in the Sean Diddy Combs was promoted by a series was prompted by a series of public allegations of sexual and other abuses made by multiple women. These allegations led to a federal sex trafficking investigation which included the raids of Combs Homes in mia Miami and Los Angeles, then investigations uncovered evidence of coerced sex acts, drug use, and other illegal activities.

Investigation & Evidence

00:10:19
Speaker
So let's break it down how this all came to be. He had a bunch of civil lawsuits of women claiming sexual abuse and sexual assault.
00:10:31
Speaker
This prompted, because this was happening over multiple states, this prompted in a federal investigation on sex trafficking. And that's when they raided his homes. And in the process of raiding his home, they found multiple evidence of not only his and that only what could bolster the set the federal sex trafficking investigation, but also coerced sex acts, drug use, and other illegal activities. Let's not also forget that there were overt
00:11:06
Speaker
50 witnesses that have basically testified so far. So all of this evidence has been collected over roughly about the last six months since basically the Cassie Ventura lawsuit came into effect. And if you haven't seen the video, I don't recommend going and watching the video, but there was a video that was released from 2000, I believe 16 where Puffy is chasing Cassie in a hotel and he drags her and beats her and um there's been a public outcry. So all of this is is what has led to the investigation and then the charges against Diddy. So when people are out there giving misinformation, I'm telling you what has been laid out in the indictment from the prosecution. So these are the actual facts ah of the case. You could trust me,
00:12:06
Speaker
I'm a credible source because I did my research. Okay. I actually went and read the indictment. I did my research. So these are the facts of the case. Now, he was denied bail. Let's kind of get into that. So Combs lawyers proposed a $50 million bail package secured by his Miami home and his mother's residence. However, he was denied bail and remained in custody. I think it's very important to go through what this bail package was because I've never heard of this before. Now, granted, I'm not a lawyer.
00:12:42
Speaker
I'm not in law enforcement. I don't know what a lot of bail packages are. I do have a friend that's a bail bond man, and I should reach out to him and find out you know how um how common this is. And I think I'll try to do that before the show. We've recorded the show with my sister.
00:12:58
Speaker
But I thought it was kind of interesting that that Diddy was like, hey, look, I'm going to put up a $50 million bail package so that I can go home and not be remanded to custody, basically put in prison until his trial. And the judge denied that. But I was interested in the bail package. So here's what the bail package was. He tried to to get bail by doing these things. First thing was his passports.
00:13:26
Speaker
Combs surrendered his own passport as well as the passports of his daughters and his mother. So he was saying, I'm not going nowhere and my family's not going nowhere. He put his Miami home up for collateral and August he paid off the remaining balance of his mortgage for that home, which is about $18 million. dollars He did that around August 20th so that he and the home is worth about $48 million.
00:13:50
Speaker
He paid it off so that he could use the entire home as equity. So that's a part of this $50 million dollars bail package. He included his private plane in the bail package. He proposed a home detention with a GPS monitoring. His family members, including his three adult sons, offered to co-sign the agreement.
00:14:10
Speaker
But despite these offers, the judge denied the bail request, citing concerns about witness tampering and the safety of the community. The judge cited the government's evidence, which showed a history of Combs intimidating both the accusers and witnesses. This included text messages from women who claimed Combs threatened to leak videos of them engaging in coerced sex acts. The judge concluded that no amount of bail could guarantee that Combs wouldn't tamper with witnesses. So he was remanded to jail until his trial because the judge felt that no matter what did he offered up as collateral for bail,
00:14:54
Speaker
home confinement, secondhand monitoring to make sure that he didn't leave his home, saying that women could not come visit him, ah the only women that could come visit him were family members or the mother of his kids, saying that he wouldn't have any parties, getting rid of all the internet and electronics, not electronics, but basically electronics, basically creating a cell at his home. If you guys ever watch Narcos,
00:15:22
Speaker
Remember when Pablo Escobar built his own jail? Basically Diddy was trying to build his own jail at his home and the judge didn't go for it because the judge has cited evidence in which Diddy has repeatedly tried to intimidate or threaten accusers or witnesses in this case and saying that there is a no amount of money or precautions that could be taken to guarantee the safety of those people. So that's the reason why he was denied bail. And the conditions in the jail, Combs is currently in the special housing unit unit at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center, which has been reported to have poor conditions, including violence and squalor. From the the research that I did at this particular presence prison detention center, they are understaffed
00:16:22
Speaker
Don't quote me on this. I haven't been able to get clear, definitive numbers on what I'm about to say. But it's around this ballpark that there's been, in the last year alone, three suicides and one murder in this particular prison. um So it's it's a rough prison.
00:16:42
Speaker
He's in special housing using re unit right now. He did not want to go there. That's the reason why he put up this bail package. Bill is denied. It was denied by not only one judge, but two judges don't think that he's going to ever get it out on bail. He's going to be in jail.
00:17:00
Speaker
throughout this trial. Evidence and witnesses. Authorities have collected extensive evidence, including video recordings and testimony from over 50 witnesses, I stated that earlier, during his arrest. So during the arrest on Saturday, not Saturday, during the arrest a couple of days ago, bags of pink powder, so subject suspected to be narcotics were found in his hotel room. So even as far, he knew that he was under investigation,
00:17:30
Speaker
He knew that something like this might come because he sold his home in August in preparation that he would need that home to create this bail package. And he was still caught with what is suspected to be narcotics.
00:17:51
Speaker
ah So let's get into the seriousness of the actual

Legal Penalties & Hypocrisy

00:17:56
Speaker
charges. Like what type of time is he facing here? Racketeering, let's start with that. That, as I explained earlier, that involves a criminal organization, the sex trafficking allegations, including coercing individuals into commercial sex acts, and then the transportation to engage in prostitution. This charge involves transporting individuals across state lines for the purpose of prostitution.
00:18:22
Speaker
Here are the penalties. For the racketeering, this charge can result in up to 20 years in prison per count. For the sex trafficking, this carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years and can go up to life imprisonment. The transportation to engage in prostitution, this charge also carries a potential life sentence. So the charges are very, very serious. He is facing at the bare minimum, even if he just gets charged with the sex trafficking. If they don't get the racketeering, if they don't get the transportation to engage in prostu and prostitution, if he just convicted on that alone, it's a guaranteed 15 years in prison. He can get, he can go free if he beats the case.
00:19:13
Speaker
Or if he's found guilty of anything, it could be anywhere from 15 years to life imprisonment. Now, I've given you guys the facts of the case.
00:19:25
Speaker
This is all the information that was presented in the indictment and what has been released by the prosecution. And through interviews that I've watched of the DAs that are, the DA office that's in the Southern District of of New York that is prosecuted in this case, they've done several interviews and I've watched them all together, all the information. This is all the information that's presented to you.
00:19:50
Speaker
This is everything that he's being accused of. He's all alleged offenses. The prosecution has their case. It's up to him to defend himself. We're going to see what happens in trial, unless he cops a plea. I tried to make sure that my personal feelings workplace in this segment, because I'm going to get into how I feel about all this personally next.
00:20:21
Speaker
are Okay, so I gave you guys all the facts. Now, how do I feel about this personally? I feel like a hypocrite. I'm going to break it all down for you guys, but I feel like a hypocrite. This is different than the R. Kelly situation. There was no evidence of all through the 90s into the 2000s.
00:20:50
Speaker
that Diddy was this type of person. So I can't say, like I came for the R. Kelly case, that I knew all of this was going on and still enjoyed his music. So that's not what I mean when I say I'm a hypocrite because I didn't know that this was the case, right? With R. Kelly, we knew in the early 90s with the whole situation with Aliyah, he wasn't right.
00:21:15
Speaker
Anybody that was in college, when I was in college, when he came out with the ignition and he did the best of both worlds with Jay-Z and he saw it on a Dave Chappelle show, anybody that was like my age during that time saw the video of the of R. Kelly urinating on a young girl. We still was listening to the music. I was a hypocrite then about R. Kelly. How am I a hypocrite about Diddy?
00:21:46
Speaker
It's pretty clear, laid out with this indictment, that if he didn't do all of it, he did the majority of what he's being charged with. And the reason why I believe that is because of the evidence. And you got to understand something the about a RICO case. So racketeering organization, criminal organization case, right?
00:22:14
Speaker
Typically in the indictment for a RICO case, there is not one defendant. There are multiple defendants, right? When they brought those RICO cases against the five families in New York, not only were the bosses on trial, but anybody that they had evidence on in each mafia family was also on trial.
00:22:38
Speaker
It was a big case with tens of defendants. The fact that we are looking at Diddy's indictment, and he's the only defendant, does not tell me that there were not co-conspirators, but he has these charged with the RICO predicate that says he was running a criminal organization.
00:23:02
Speaker
What it tells me is, as part of those 50 witnesses that have been given testimony to bring this indictment, a lot of those witnesses were the co-conspirators, and they cut deals. And this is the reason why Diddy is all alone. Now, do people that cut deals lie? Yes, I know for a fact, because of where I grew up and some friends of mine that have gone to jail,
00:23:30
Speaker
that people, sometimes people that cut bills will lie in order to save their own butt. that that can absolutely be the case. But I don't believe that's the case now. You don't bring a case against a high profile individual. And this is the Southern District of New York. these This is the same district that prosecuted all of those mob cases. This is the same district as prosecuting that's prosecuted Trump. They don't miss, okay? If they come after you and they slap a Rico,
00:24:02
Speaker
You go into jail, OK? I don't know too many people that beat reco charges from the Southern District. Has it happened? Yes. But hey, their batting average is higher than you want it to be if you are a defendant. So you look at all this evidence that is presented and the fact that a lot of people have come out talking about the

Rumors & Emotional Attachment

00:24:26
Speaker
freakoffs. See, this this once those houses got raided,
00:24:31
Speaker
six months ago and it was on the news and me and my sister talked about it. People started talking about these freak offs. What was closeted before had started to come to the light, not just because of the raise, but people that had known about the freak offs and industry started doing doing interviews and and they were being vague. But if you watched enough interviews or listened to enough interviews, you could start to piece together. Oh, they was really doing some crazy stuff. But I still haven't gotten to the part where I'm a hypocrite. See, it's pretty evident that he is absolutely guilty of at least most of this, as I stated before. My problem then becomes, what do I do about it? See, this is what I mean by that. As I said,
00:25:29
Speaker
Diddy's music from 1991. He had an influence on Jodeci. To, I don't know, the mid 2000s. He's done hits.
00:25:45
Speaker
His music is literally the soundtrack to my life. If I wanted to do a biopic on Bruce Anthony and say it was a musical, the majority of the music would be music that Diddy had a hand in. I enjoy that music. The music is very difficult for me to let go of. And so,
00:26:12
Speaker
I'm going to go a little bounce off the walls, but follow me here. I've had this conversation with my sister. If you all are regular listeners and watchers of the show, you know that I've had this conversation of how I can understand how a Trump supporter can be hardened and rock with him despite the everything that that he's been accused of, been found guilty of, said, done, that's derogatory, ah racist, misogynistic, because he represents what people actually want, what some people actually want. They want to go back to this way of life where things weren't
00:27:07
Speaker
where nothing had changed because people don't like change. So I said, and in the conversations with my sister, I've said, I kind of get it. I kind of understand.
00:27:19
Speaker
because letting go to R. Kelly music was a big deal. And I wasn't that big of an R. Kelly fan, right? Not as big as a fan of, say, Michael Jackson or Diddy's music. Not specifically Diddy himself, but Diddy has his hands on so much music that I am absolutely a fan of. I mean, Bad Boy in the 90s,
00:27:40
Speaker
I still listen to a lot of 112. I still listen to to Biggie's music. I still listen to Total and Faith Evans and Black Rob and Shine. There's just so many people, and that's not even including the people that like he executive produced.
00:27:55
Speaker
Right? He executive produced Jamie Foxx. He executive produced Usher. He executive produced Mary J. Blige. I told you he was a part of Jodeci, like there's so much music that he's a part of, that is a part of my life. I don't want to give it up. I don't want to give it up. Mind you, this is me admitting that I wholeheartedly believe that at the very least he did the majority of the things that he's being charged of. There is no question in my mind. This is a despicable, horrible human being. And let me tell you something. The indictment has not laid out absolutely everything. Indictments are meant to be very vague and they get to the details in the case because you don't ever want to try this in the press. They get to the details as they try the case. It's going to get worse.
00:28:47
Speaker
And I'm a hypocrite because I'm not going to stop listening to the music. I'm gonna be honest with everybody, I'm not. There are a lot of things that I'm very, very principled on that I won't budge on. And and this is the reason why I wanted to do my segment by myself, to not hear my sister's counterpoint, because I know what she's gonna say. I know what she's gonna say. This is my sister. I love her. I know her. I know what she's going to say. And she's gonna be like, well, I'm not listening to it. And and let's be honest, she's not as big of a fan
00:29:22
Speaker
as I am of Diddy. Ask her about Prince. Ask her if this was Prince, how she would feel, right? and And so when you're put in that position, I can understand why people still watch the Cosby Show, why people still are going to listen to R. Kelly music. Maybe you can try to separate the artist from the person. I don't know. I feel dirty doing it. I understand the hypocrisy.
00:29:49
Speaker
I get it. I absolutely get it. and i And I'm on this show all the time calling people out in their hypocrisy. I get it. I'm telling you upfront, I'm going to be a hypocrite about this. Absolutely. I'm going to be a hypocrite about this. I want him to go to jail because there's stuff out there that hasn't been fully, fully vetted, but rumors and innuendo of things that have been done that are way worse than what this indictment lays out. If it's true, he he deserves to be under the jail, o absolutely under the jail. I'm still going to listen to this music. Now, well, draw the line.
00:30:36
Speaker
And I'm trying to, ah once again, I'm a hypocrite. I'm trying to draw the line. Because I can find funny in just about everything. I can find funny in just about everything except for anything bad that had to do with kids. I cannot find a funny in that. But about anything else, I can find a funny in it.
00:30:55
Speaker
And up obviously when they do the do the arrest and the raids and they find 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant that he's just got stored, you know, that's funny. And there have been a lot of jokes on social media and in my friend group chats.
00:31:17
Speaker
and just conversations that I've had with other people that really like to harp on that. And yeah, it that is funny. That is funny. I don't think it's funny. I'm going to draw the line when it gets to the point where you find out what these women went through. It hasn't been specifically pointed out. But why were IVs needed during these freak-offs?
00:31:47
Speaker
I'm sorry. Mama, I know you're listening. I'm sorry. But I have to just say this. I haven't had sex so much that I needed an IV. I just have it. Gatorade will do. Couple electrolytes, some food. I'm okay. But an IV?
00:32:07
Speaker
An IV gets you to d your dehydrate, like not dehydrated as you had a night of drinking and you're dehydrated because you got a cotton mouth, right? An IV is to the point where you're like dehydrated, like you can't move. And remember, some of these sex acts were coerced, meaning that they were forced. Yeah, we can...
00:32:35

Try to joke on a baby oil in a lubricant. But when you say to yourself, wait a minute, why do you need so much lubricant? There are multiple reasons why people need a lubricant. Not to get too graphic, but sometimes you need a lubricant because things are not going any easy. Factor that in with the IV. Yo, all this ain't that funny, man. It's not funny.
00:33:04
Speaker
There are victims out here. There are people who suffered, whose lives that were changed. And yeah, normally I'm a person that could find the funny and everything, and I did, until that hit me. As I started researching more and more about the facts of this case, and I'm like, this ain't funny, I can't crack no jokes on this. No jokes. Because this, people's lives were ruined because of this.
00:33:32

intimidation, extortion, arson. These are all charred.

Music, Memories & Allegations

00:33:39
Speaker
These are all things that are part of that Rico predicate that he's been indicted on. All of it. Am I going to stop listening to the music? No. And I have real shame on that. And you would say to yourself, well Bruce, if you have shame and you know you're being a hypocrite,
00:34:02
Speaker
Just stop. I have so many great memories that are tied up into music, right? Like we have we have soundtracks to our life. There are times we were at a party, hanging out with your friends, dancing with somebody special, and a song comes on and you remember that memory. And memory is ingrained in you for the rest of your life, not only because of how it made you feel,
00:34:30
Speaker
but also the smells, the sights, the sounds. And a lot of the sounds that I have to some of those memories that I hold dear, bad boys playing in the background, or some artists that Diddy worked with. And he worked with the, I'm gonna say he worked with almost everybody that ever made a hit. I'm just supposed to cut out all of that music.
00:35:01
Speaker
I'm supposed to deprive myself of those memories. That's the reason why I give people a pass, you know, if they continue to watch The Cosby Show or they continue to watch R. Kelly, it's real easy for people to be principled on certain things that they don't really have a connection to. It's really easy for me to say, well, I just won't watch The Cosby Show anymore. I mean, I enjoyed The Cosby Show. I grew up on The Cosby Show. It's not like I'm going back and watching reruns. So it's easy for me to give something like that up.
00:35:30
Speaker
much, much more difficult when it comes to like Michael Jackson or Diddy. So I'm a hypocrite. And that's how I feel about that. I have real shame about how I feel, but I cannot give up those memories that are connected to the music because it's in the background. you can't I can't block out the memory and not hear the music. i don't i don't if i can If I could have that ability, I would do it. And then I would not listen to Bad Boy or Diddy or anything that he was associated with.
00:36:05
Speaker
and If y'all out there listening and watching know how to do that, how to recall memories, but drown out any Diddy song in the background, please tell me, and then I'll stop listening to Diddy music. But until that time comes, I'm going to be a hypocrite. I'm going to still have shame about it. There'll be times where I'm going to be listening to a song that is associated with Diddy, and the shame will be so overwhelming that I will not be able to finish listening to that song. I know that's the case because it's already happened to me.
00:36:37
Speaker
But then there are gonna be some times where I'm just gonna be like, look, music is a healer and I might be going through something and I'm gonna need something to take me back to a good time. ah You know, I'm just being raw, honest and real with you guys. I don't know where all this is gonna go. This is what I do know. These are the things that I do know. I'm not gonna stop listening to Diddy.
00:37:06
Speaker
He needs to be locked under the jail. And I understand why the judge denied bail. It was cute to him coming up with his little package, but he knew what he saw. He saw this coming and he tried to prepare. It's kind of like when you got in trouble at school and you know, you're going to be in trouble when your parents get home.
00:37:29
Speaker
But you try to do a whole bunch of chores, even more chores than you would normally do to try and get yourself out of that trouble or lessen the punishment. That's exactly what Diddy did. And the judge wasn't falling for that. And if what's been laid out in the indictment is 40, 50, 60% true. This man is a menace, and he will intimidate witnesses because he's already done it. He was doing it during the investigation. That's what the hearsay is. But that's what was kind of laid out in an indictment, is that he he knew this was coming, and he was already witness tampering. The judge said, not going to take a chance. And so he went from his $50 million dollar home
00:38:18
Speaker
Or he was arrested at a hotel. He went from his penthouse hotel to one of the worst prisons in the New York state. I don't feel bad for him. I don't. He deserves this. And I deserve whatever is going to come my way for being the hypocrite. If it's more and more shame, I'm going to have to eat that because I know what I'm doing.
00:38:48
Speaker
I'm listening to Diddy music despite the fact that he did these horrible acts. And there are other people out there that are going to have that crisis of conscience too. I can't tell you what to do. Never would want to tell you what to do. I'm just telling you what I'm doing and why I'm doing it. I'm not asking for forgiveness from anybody else. I'm not asking for absolution from everybody else. I'm not asking for anybody to look past it. I know what I'm doing. I'm just being real. I'm being human.
00:39:16
Speaker
and ah You know, a this is a crazy, crazy story. But the most important thing that I find from observing the story is that none of it is funny.
00:39:44
Speaker
Well, none of the ditty stuff is funny.

Transition to 'What Grinds My Gears'

00:39:49
Speaker
But my aggravations in the gym are kind of funny. So I haven't used this segment in a long time, what grinds my gears. And this is what grinds my gears, the gym edition. I was in the gym ah every day.
00:40:06
Speaker
every day. But more specifically, a couple of days ago, and I was just, like i I felt like every one of these things that I'm about to reel off to you, I was dealing with in that hour that I was in the gym. And I walked in, I always kind of walk into the gym angry because I psyched myself up to get through the workout. And and anger is a really good Really good ah amplifier to get you through the workout. Really good push to get you through the workout. So I'm always a little angry. I felt like I was angrier leaving the gym than I was walking into the gym. And it's because of these things that truly, truly grind my gears at the gym. The very first thing, look, we are quote unquote out of COVID, even though I've got a lot of friends and my sister just a couple of weeks ago,
00:40:57
Speaker
have gotten COVID and it's been bad. Recently, been bad. So the thought of when I got COVID on my 41st birthday, so no, 42nd birthday, so two years ago, right? I got COVID on my birthday or I had the the height of COVID on my birthday. It was so tough for me to get out of bed, to to walk my dog. I slept the entire day. My 42nd birthday sucked.
00:41:24
Speaker
It sucked balls, right? COVID was horrible. People were starting to think COVID was gone. COVID is not gone. People are still out here getting COVID and getting really bad cases of COVID. But one of the things that I truly enjoyed about the gym is even when they open things back up, there was still kind of spacing.
00:41:45
Speaker
right So if you were using a machine in this one particular gym that I go to, it has three levels and at the top level is where all the cardio equipment is, all the treadmills, all the ellipticals, all the stair masters and things of that nature. People were using every other machine so nobody was working out right next to each other. That was part of the science. Do not use this machine, use the next machine. I like that.
00:42:08
Speaker
I really hate it when I'm using a cardio machine and there are plenty open machines in the entire world that I'm on and a person gets on the machine right next to me, like COVID still isn't a thing. Why are you standing right next to me, sir? It really, it really bothered me because I was in my groove. I was doing my cardio day, which means I'm going to be on this machine for a little while, right? I'm not going to just, this isn't a warm up or cool down. I'm not going to be on there for five, 10 or 15 minutes.
00:42:38
Speaker
No, i'm this is my workout for the day. I'm going to be on this machine. And I'm on the elliptical. It's a Stairmaster slash elliptical. And this guy gets on ah the elliptical right next to me. Mind you, there are plenty of these machines in a row. There are like 10 in a row. Why are you getting right next to me? And I know that some of the arguments are people love being communal and like being next to each other. I don't like it.
00:43:06
Speaker
I hate it. Don't stand next to me. I got off and got on another machine. So there was distance between us. He looked at me and I eyeballed him to let him know, yes, I got on this other machine because you're too damn close to me. You keep a distance. That's that really grinds my gear in the gym. Also,
00:43:29
Speaker
This particular man, he's stuck. That's another thing that grinds my gear. Now, you may say to yourself, Bruce, we in the gym working out, we sweating, we gonna get stinky. There's workout stinky, and then there's stank.
00:43:43
Speaker
This person had BO, not like from sweating and you know perspiration perspiration from your hard workout. No, like you didn't bathe today or maybe even yesterday. ah And you gonna stand right next to me. And this is a common occurrence. Now I understand.
00:44:03
Speaker
then some people don't bathe every day for various reasons. Some people have skin conditions, some people for religious reasons. Let me tell you what I think about all of that. And this is just my unsolicited perspective. But let me tell you about not bathing every day based off of skin conditions or religion. If any God tells me that I can't wash my ass every day, I don't want to praise that God. And if I got a choice between being stank or having bad skin, I guess I'm just gonna have bad skin because one thing that I won't do is stank. Y'all know how I am.
00:44:42
Speaker
Y'all know I got my body butters, colognes, and deodorants, and creams that smell good. That's the only thing I care about. Okay, that's a complete exaggeration. That's not the only thing I care about in my life, but it is very important in my life. It's to smell good. I think it's, I think it's, what's the word that I want to use? I get it from my grandfather.
00:45:04
Speaker
Right. I never went anywhere with them. We could go to the grocery store, but when we went to the grocery store, even if he was wearing just jeans, a sweatshirt or whatever. It looked neat, it looked clean, he always smelled good. So I learned that from from him, be presentable at all times. And for me, being presentable at all times means you don't stink. So once again, if it's for religious reasons or it's a skin condition, I don't have no sympathy for you because
00:45:35
Speaker
You stink, and you don't have to stand next to me stinking. And like once again, I'm gonna reiterate, it's not normal workout stink. This is when you don't bathe enough stink. You know something else that really grounds my gears? And this was all the same person. No, it wasn't. It wasn't the same person. It was a person that was two machines down from me. and And this doesn't have to be exclusively to the gym. and This happens to me out in the world.
00:46:03
Speaker
People not wearing headphones or earbuds or things of that nature. Hey, I don't want to hear what you're listening to. I don't want to hear what you're watching. That's the whole point of earbuds and headphones. I don't want to hear your phone conversation.
00:46:18
Speaker
Well, OK, if it's juicy and messy, I do want to eavesdrop because I am messy. But ah i would rather not I would rather not hear anything that has to come through your phone. That's your phone. Keep it private. And I really don't like the people that come in and play their music through their phone, because let me tell you something about these new iPhones. The new iPhone speakers, sometimes I play my iPhone in my house and I can hear it in other rooms. Now granted, my place isn't really that big, but iPhone speakers didn't used to be like this. They are loud. They are damn near boom boxes, okay? I'm trying to work out. I got my headphones on. Why can I still hear your stuff through my headphones and what I got going on? Just disrespectful. It really grinds my gears. You know what else grinds my gears? When I'm in the locker room.
00:47:12
Speaker
Some old men want to talk to you with their balls hanging out. I don't understand why they do this. I don't want to really see any man naked. Not that I, you know, have a problem with the the male body, but, you know, that's just not the body that I'm into. I'm more into a female's body. But I'll also point out, not every female I want to see naked as well.
00:47:38
Speaker
Sometimes just put some clothes on, put some drawers on. You know, that could be the first thing that you do instead of trying to strike up a conversation with me. Because number one, I don't care about anything that you have to say when your balls are hanging out. That's first and foremost. OK, number two, I really don't care about anything you had to say anyway, because I'm not real friendly in the gym. I want to go into the gym, get my workout and leave. I really don't like pointless conversations.
00:48:06
Speaker
And if you're doing a pointless conversation with your balls out, like, I'm pretty happy about my body, you know, well, okay. Other people say that my body looks good. I always have complaints. But that's just me. I probably have body dysmorphia. But I'm in pretty good shape. And i've you know people that have seen me, they you know they give me compliments on my body. So you know I have that going for me. But even I, and and the confidence I have in myself, wouldn't just be standing there with my balls out talking to somebody.
00:48:41
Speaker
what What's wrong with you? I just wanted to come in here, sir. Go to the bathroom and wash my hands and finish my workout. Don't ask me about the exercises I'm doing today with your balls hanging out. Fact of the matter is, don't ask me about my workout at all. Leave me to hell alone, but especially with your balls out.
00:49:01
Speaker
And this is the final ground my gears, because this all happened to me on one day. All these instances happened to me in one particular day. That's the reason why I decided to do this segment. This is PSA on what not to do when you're in the gym. I'm tired of these situations. People hogging machines. And I'm not just talking about the cardio machines. People that are training for a marathon, you're on a treadmill.
00:49:28
Speaker
for an hour plus, that's and the gym is packed. It's a Saturday morning. That's real disrespectful for everybody else that is paying to use that membership. If you train it for a marathon, you take your ass outside, okay? Don't come into the gym hogging up no machine for the whole time, but that's not specifically what I'm talking about.
00:49:47
Speaker
specifically what I'm talking about is when people are doing super sets of triceps. That's when you do two or more exercises in one grouping, right? So maybe you'll do a chest press, maybe you'll do a pull down, maybe you do a shoulder press, which is crazy. I don't know anybody that would do those three things, but I'm just giving you an example, right? So maybe you're at the chest press machine, you're at the pull down machine, you're at the shoulder press machine.
00:50:09
Speaker
Right? And they will hog all those machines running back and forth between them. I don't like those people. Do I do Super Set? Yes. But I try to be respectful for other people that want to use machines and I don't use two machines at the same time. There are ways to build your workout so that you don't have to inconvenience everybody. And that's the basic premise of what grounds my gears at the gym. Why do people feel like that they can inconvenience everybody else just for their own personal ish?
00:50:40
Speaker
I don't get it. Maybe I walk through life a little too considerate of other people. And maybe that's a flaw in mine. And I'm open to admit that it's been something that I've been accused of before. I don't know. I just kind of like being considerate. But I can't understand people being absolutely, completely inconsiderate. That really grinds my gears. Well, it seems like a lot of people do it in life in general, but specifically at the gym.
00:51:08
Speaker
And those people that are new to the gym that don't know the gym etiquette, I'm not talking to you guys. I'm giving you some game, though. I'm putting you up on game on how to act in the gym. I'm talking about those people that are regularly going to the gym. And in every instance of these examples of what grinds my gears, these are people that regularly go to the gym. They know better. Showing your balls when you talking to me, man. Just get out of my face. mean I'm hot. I'm hot all over again. you're Probably going to go listen to some Diddy music.
00:51:38
Speaker
That was wrong. But I had to bring it all together. But ladies and gentlemen, I want to thank you for listening. I want to thank you for watching. take stand And until next time, as always, I holler.
