Introduction and Quarter Season Reflection

00:00:14
Speaker
What is up goal line listeners? We are back with the quarter way of the season episode of the goal line, man. I feel like it's flown by, but we're putting the finishing touches on week five

Week 5 Highlights: Saints vs. Chiefs

00:00:25
Speaker
of the season. We got a Monday night football game that's looking suddenly interesting between the Saints and Chiefs as the third quarter wraps up, and we got a ton to bring you guys, man. Jordan, what's going on? Not too much, man. Yeah, another exciting week of football, and yeah, I'm ready to get into it.

Celebrating 6U Arlington Tigers' Success

00:00:42
Speaker
Yeah, a little bit later start time. We spent a lot of time at the S&M. We got a pretty heavy episode this week, so we're doing a little bit of extended prep. And I got back a little bit late from football practice tonight just to update my 6U, Arlington Tigers. We are now 6 and 0. We won our game last week, 35 to nothing. So we got a two week break before two more regular season games in the playoffs. So hopefully we can keep it rolling, man. That'll be fun to celebrate a championship on here.
00:01:08
Speaker
with you guys. Jordan, you get any other housekeeping before we get into it? No, that's it, man. No better place to start than Thursday night football.

Falcons Triumph and Record-Breaking Moments

00:01:25
Speaker
Falcons beat the Bucks. Kirk Cousins with 509 passing yards broke the Falcons all time record for passing yards in a game while Matt Ryan's going into the ring of honor.
00:01:36
Speaker
That was damn near poetic, dude. It was just absolutely beautiful. It was WWE level storytelling, man. Like literally breaks his record and has the clutch drive at the end of the game to freaking set it up. I mean, it was, it was like Maddie Ice was back in uniform for one night watching Kirk Cousins do his thing.
00:01:53
Speaker
It looked fun, man. This was the Falcons that we were hoping to see at the start of season. They were playing fast. They seemed to be playing with joy, right? It looked like they were having fun out there. It didn't look like they were struggling just to be a functional football team, man, which is something that's been missing in Atlanta the last few years. So I had a blast watching that game, man. I was getting some Falcons nostalgia, going and seeing Maddy Ice out there. Just a great, great night to kick off the weekend of football.
00:02:19
Speaker
Dude, that's probably one of the best Thursday night games they'll ever get. Like I don't ever remember Thursday night game being that good. I mean, yeah, part of it was the Falcons won, but the overall game, like I just kept looking on Twitter and non Falcons fans were like, God damn, this is a fucking incredible football game.
00:02:37
Speaker
They're few and far between. Even the ones that do end up being close, they tend to end up being those ugly 16 to 19 games and stuff like that. This was just both teams laying it out there, playing wide open, got to see a lot of points up on the board. Yeah, it was a fun night of football for sure.
00:02:52
Speaker
Yeah. And the dome was rocking also, man. That's one of the, I don't know if it was just Matt Ryan, if it was being a Thursday night game, it seemed like there was actually a little bit of a home field advantage there for the Dirty Birds. Twice in four days, dude. Because against the Saints last Sunday, it was the exact same way. They had that place rocking two games in a row.
00:03:12
Speaker
I don't know, man, it helps when there's a little bit of excitement buying your team. Like dude, cousin serves for 509 yards. You got to imagine next time they play at home, that place is going to be sold out again. Cause yeah, the excitement level is definitely there.

Nebraska Huskers' Defensive Prowess

00:03:25
Speaker
Um, we'll also talk about my other favorite team. The Huskers, uh, beat, uh, previously undefeated Rutgers on Saturday and one of the ugliest football games I've ever watched in my life. Classic big 10 football, baby. The Huskers defense is just so fucking good though. I mean, they're the only team in college football that hasn't a lot of rushing touchdown all year. Like they are, they're very good on defense.
00:03:51
Speaker
So it's going to keep them in every game. That's all they need to do. We said it before, man. They got a favorable schedule, dude. Like, I think they're totally going to be in the mix for that playoff spot, man. As long as they don't blow any ones that they should win anymore, man, I think they're going to be in the mix for the postseason this year. They got Indiana next week. Both teams are going to buy this week. So they'll be playing undefeated Indiana at Indiana. But I don't know if you've looked at Indiana's schedule. They haven't beat anybody that's in the top 50 yet.
00:04:19
Speaker
Uh, I still don't know what to think about them, but I mean, uh, I saw today Vegas as Nebraska as a five and a half point favorite on the road against undefeated Indiana. So that kind of tells you what they think about them. Um, well, let's get into the rest of the college football talk since we're on it.

Upsetting Losses for Tennessee, Alabama, and Missouri

00:04:36
Speaker
Uh, this was not a banner weekend for the sec, Tennessee, Alabama, and Missouri all go down in embarrassing fashion. The sec teams though, there was other sec teams to beat them up. It doesn't matter. It's still embarrassing, dude. None of those teams should be losing to the teams they played.
00:04:53
Speaker
Alabama is by far the worst one because losing a Vanderbilt is unacceptable and beat him since 1984. That was a really bad loss for Alabama, Tennessee. I don't know what the fuck they were doing. They looked completely out of sorts from the time that game started. I, I, I got nothing. I know you didn't get to watch it, but good God, they look watching the highlights and kind of going back and stitching it back together from Twitter. It seemed like
00:05:19
Speaker
It seemed like Nico just had an off night, man. He is a super young quarterback. They've looked so incredible, the first month plus of the season that you forget. But it's still a relatively young team, man. And I think that's what got him, dude. The good thing is, dude, the defense is still awesome, man.
00:05:37
Speaker
as impressive as the offense has been. The defense has actually been even better this year and it was still there. So I think they can bounce back. What this does do, man, between them and Alabama losing to Vandy, uh, you know, the third weekend and, or the third Saturday in October, it is going to be bigger than ever this year. Cause if both teams go undefeated,
00:05:53
Speaker
Yeah, it would have been a huge game just for the fanfare and stuff. But I think it would have been kind of like that Georgia Alabama game from last week. I don't think either team would have lost a ton, you know, as long as they have a decent showing and take the L. But now the two losses, you're probably getting in, but you're flirting with disaster, man, depending on how the rest of the season shakes out. Two losses might be enough to keep you out of the playoff. Yeah, it's going to be that game is going to be really interesting. Onto the team, me and you both picked to win Missouri.
00:06:23
Speaker
They got their ass tore out the frame, dude. That's what Texas A&M should have been in the last three or four years, man.
00:06:29
Speaker
They're consistently putting together best recruiting classes in the nation. They got a very rich set of boosters, and they pump a ton of money into that program. If you look, since NIL started, Texas A&M has always been at the top or right at the top for the amount of money they spend on talent coming in. And it just has not translated on the field where it counts. But they look dominant on Saturday. That was a good looking team. That was the one game I was able to watch most of before I hit the road. Me and the kids went down to Horn Lake, Mississippi for a little
00:06:59
Speaker
little get together, man. Um, but yeah, dude, I was really impressed with Texas A&M. I didn't think Missouri was going to have any problems with them. I thought Missouri's pretty strong so far this year. And I thought Texas A&M was a bit of a pretender, but that was a hell of a performance against the top 10 team in the country. Oh yeah. And then, uh, we got to touch on Michigan just absolutely shitting the sheets versus Washington and then USC losing to Minnesota.

Unpredictability in College Football

00:07:24
Speaker
dude college football is just wide open right now man as much as we like I think at the beginning of the season me and you both made the mistake of thinking like there was going to be three or four top teams and then that was going to be it that is not the case man this is going to be a wide open race to the championship and the playoff just makes it that much more intriguing like
00:07:46
Speaker
I don't really know who is great, honestly, in college football right now. Going into this week, I would have said Bama was probably the best team, but I mean that clearly... They got a 40 burger on them from Vandy. Yeah. So I don't really know, man. I still think probably Texas and Ohio State are the two best teams, but we're going to find out a lot about Ohio State this week and Texas got Oklahoma. So that game is always a toss up. You never know what you're going to see, but I'm assuming Texas pounds Oklahoma.
00:08:14
Speaker
Dude, it's the expansion of the playoff first and foremost that just keeps so many teams alive makes it so much more interesting. The NIL really upping the amount of parity across college football because teams like Alabama, Notre Dame, Michigan, they can't just stash 5D All-Americans on their depth chart and they're there locked down for years.
00:08:34
Speaker
And I think the video game coming back, dude, has just reignited the love for college football. I mean, it was already red hot, dude. I feel like it's just on a whole different level this year, man. I find myself almost as excited for Saturdays as I am Sundays, man. Yeah, it's been really good this season. Miami, what about Miami having the comeback of a freaking lifetime, dude? Down 25 and comes back to win late at night. I think it was pushing one o'clock in the morning when that game finally ended. Yeah, absolutely insane.
00:09:03
Speaker
I saw the next morning because I fell asleep. That was a long day for me. Well, I didn't really fall asleep. It was more pass out. But I saw the highlights next morning. Dude, Miami gets a lot of favorable calls that go in their direction in the fourth quarter. And I get it. That's what happens when you're the only team in your conference with a chance to do anything. I mean, Clemson's still there, but we'll see if they actually do anything. But yeah, I get it. I mean, they need them to be there. The ACC definitely needs
00:09:31
Speaker
Oh, touchdown. ACC definitely needs Miami to be there at the end. So yeah, it's going to be interesting. That's really all I got for college. Do you want to move into some NFL talk?

Saints vs. Chiefs Live Update

00:09:43
Speaker
Yeah, real quick, Saints just scored. Assuming they get the extra point here, it's going to be 16-14 with 14 minutes ago. What's your read on this one, man? Is this just typical Chiefs, what we've seen the last season and a half where they'll play up or down to their level of competition and end up finding a way to sneak it out in the end? Dude, we've talked about it every week. I still don't think this team is that good, man. I just don't. They've snuck out every win this season. And there's never been a game where anybody's like, oh, man, they look super impressive.
00:10:11
Speaker
I guess if I had to pick one and of course the guy misses this point. Wow, that's big. Um, I, uh, I don't know, dude, I think they are. I think they're just, I think there's, I don't think they're sleepwalking. I think they're just, they're keeping it in third gear, man. Dude, I, their offense is not going to be good, man. I just, I don't think their offense is good. I think they're, the injuries are eventually going to be too much for him to overcome this year.
00:10:34
Speaker
I get it, man. We always say Mahomes can just make anybody look good, but you can see the frustration in him this year. He's thrown a pick in every single game now, which is not really unlike him. Even last year when they were struggling, they weren't turning the ball over. They just weren't putting points out. It's really not like him at all. So I don't know, man. I think they win this game, but yeah, they have not looked great in any point in the game so far. NFL, we'll just do some quick hitters because Seth has quite a few questions for us to talk about.
00:11:04
Speaker
Ravens and bangles and probably one of the best games we'll have this season absolute overtime classic
00:11:12
Speaker
I don't know what the fuck the bangles were doing in overtime though, dude. They, they tried to run it straight up to get three straight times, got stuffed and then settled for a 53 yard field goal. The holder didn't get the hold down. They missed the field goal. Next play Derek Henry runs for 55 yards and then they kicked the game winning field goal. That was miserable coaching by Zach Taylor. I don't know what the fuck he was thinking about.
00:11:35
Speaker
Dude, if you look at Joe Burrow's stats, he's playing MVP level football right now, dude. He's playing the best he's played so far in his career, man. It's kind of what I was thinking he was going to be whenever I made the Bengals my pick for the Super Bowl in the AFC. And Jamar Chase, too, man. Jamar Chase, T Higgins, and Joe Burrow are bawling their asses off, and the rest of the team is absolutely letting them down, man.
00:11:57
Speaker
Uh, yeah, I don't, I don't know, dude, it's, it's rough and since he, man, the, the, some of the coaching decisions, uh, are limited, have, you know, hurt their ability to win. And then the defense is like the bottom just fell out of that defense this season, man. So they're bad. They're rough times for sure, man. But dude, Baltimore.
00:12:15
Speaker
Lamar had one of his best games ever indeed. Derek Henry, man. God forbid. I hope it's not for a long, long time. But when he passes away, his body needs to be donated to science, dude. How is this guy still doing this with the amount of miles he has on him and at this age, dude?

Derrick Henry's Exceptional Performance

00:12:29
Speaker
I mean, it was incredible, dude. I don't know how he didn't score on that last play. I thought he was getting a walk off on the 55 yard. But dude, to be his age, all the wear and tear on him and breaks out a 55 yard touchdown in overtime to give his game the win, man.
00:12:42
Speaker
You love to see it, dude. As much as I hate seeing Derek Henry leave the Titans, they would absolutely love seeing what he's doing there in Baltimore. Dude, the crazy thing is like every other game, it just seems like they don't know how to use him. Like he had 35 yards until that run.
00:12:58
Speaker
it's so weird watching him play on that team because it's it's like they don't know how to use them. Lamar threw the shit out of the ball in that game. That game was shocking to me. Now granted they did and they were down double digits in the third quarter so they had to throw but still it's just like they're getting away from what they need to be doing but
00:13:15
Speaker
I mean, think about Derek Henry, man, you got to get, he's the kind of running back dude. He needs 20 plus carries. He's not a change of pace guy, dude. He's a bell cow. And then he's going to wear that defense out and eventually he's going to break one out, dude. So he just, he needs a lot of opportunities, but he's going to make it worth your while if he does. Yeah. He definitely is one of those guys that needs his legs to be warmed up by the time it hits. So yeah. Jags finally get their first win.
00:13:41
Speaker
I still don't think this team is good at all though, man. Like they played hard last week and came up a little short, got the win this week, but yeah, it still feels like, uh, I don't think the Doug Peterson era has got a much longer legs left down there in Jacksonville. Let's talk about two teams that are really good. The Vikings just keep winning. Even though Seth just keeps doubting him like dude.
00:14:04
Speaker
It doesn't matter how ugly it is. That was Sam Darnold's worst game of the season by far. Defense is freaking awesome, man. Their defense is fast. They just fly to the football man. I mean, their defense straight. He may actually be washed. I think he's got a little bit of gas and left in the tank. They made Aaron Rogers look straight up washed up yesterday, man. Aaron Rogers is not
00:14:24
Speaker
Even on his worst day, he's never the type of QB that's throwing three interceptions in one game. I'm gonna do you one even better. That was Aaron Rodgers fifth pick six of his entire career. Yeah, he's not a dude that he's either if he is, you know, if he has a bad game, it's just low yardage, you know, like he cuz he and he'll always make the smart play, dude, you rarely see him just straight up crashing out like he did yesterday. Yeah, dude, it's
00:14:48
Speaker
It's crazy to watch him play like that. And then the other team we got to talk about, I feel like we have not really hit on them as much as we should have. Dude, the commanders are, they have to be the most exciting team in the NFL right now. Like there's, I'd be hard pressed to find another team that's as exciting as them every week.
00:15:06
Speaker
Yeah, if somehow, if Jane Daniels doesn't end up, you know, taking injuries out of the equation, dude, if Jane Daniels doesn't end up being just, you know, era defining QB man, like one of the absolute best of this time period, it needs to be studied, because the start that he's been on has been absolutely incredible. Dude, he's just playing so smart for his age to like, being a rookie in the NFL, like everybody expects you to make mistakes, like,
00:15:36
Speaker
He's just not doing

Browns' Defensive Struggles

00:15:37
Speaker
it, man. They trust him so much. Like I, I saw at one point during the game, they were talking about like how much Dan Quinn trust him and he just tells him to go out there and do his thing. Like they're not harnessing him at all. They're just letting him. He's not, he's not playing protected. He's playing wide open, dude. And it's obvious, man. Their run game is nasty, which opens up everything for him. And then do you watch and scary Terry with an actual receiver is an absolute treat to watch. Like,
00:16:02
Speaker
That team is fun and their defense is even playing really well at this point. On the flip side of that game. Holy shit, dude, the Browns have officially hit rock bottom. That team is miserable.
00:16:19
Speaker
What happened to their defense needs to be studied by science because that was the number one defense in the NFL last year. They were awesome last year. They won games they shouldn't have last year. They literally lost nobody and they're one of the worst defenses in the NFL now. I don't get it.
00:16:34
Speaker
Yeah, I wonder who gets, who gets the can first dude to show Watson or the head coach. Well, they said they're sticking with massage Watson going into this week. So I don't, I don't get it, dude. I just give Winston a chance just to see if it gives you a spark. Like I'm not saying he's the end all be all quarterback, but like, just see if it gives you a spark, you know, it's just what they're just ramming their heads into a wall right now with what they're doing. But
00:16:59
Speaker
There's just no juice with the Sean Watson, dude. It's like he's just it's flat out there, man. Like, I don't know, dude. I'm kind of right there with you, dude. Like, it's just he's not that guy anymore, dude. I don't know if it's just a mental thing or if the injuries just really caught up to him all of a sudden. But we're never seeing Houston Texans to Sean Watson again. No. One more thing I want to hit on. It's going to really ramp up this week. Should the Patriots be starting Drake May at this point?
00:17:29
Speaker
after watching that game yesterday, you got to at least put them in there and see what you got. That team's going nowhere. They're, they're bad to lose to Minnesota who couldn't even put together a pass play against the Titans on Monday night and then lose that game. You got to try something else. I quarterback man, we're set is not going to get you any wins and maybe you don't want me, but you're not going after a quarterback. So like, at least see what you got with Drake may.
00:17:55
Speaker
So they've definitely been the worst offense in the league so far. I think my concern is just, are they so bad that you end up doing damage to Drake?

Should Patriots Start Rookie QB?

00:18:04
Speaker
We've seen that before, dude. I think a little bit that happened with Bryce down in Carolina, dude. I think about David Carr back in the day with the Texans, man.
00:18:13
Speaker
You know, at a minimum, you go get some scar tissue off this season. And I think, I mean, Drake May is a good player. I thought he was, he was my top QB prospect coming out this year. And I think he's a tough, a tough guy. So I think he'll be able to overcome it. But, you know, if this guy's really, you're thinking he's going to be the true successor to Tom Brady, maybe you don't want to toss him out there to just get his ass kicked for the next two months. Maybe you wait till you got six, seven weeks left in the season and then get him in there.
00:18:42
Speaker
But I don't know. I mean, it wouldn't be the wrong thing, dude. It definitely, you know, I don't think anybody would call him crazy if we threw him out there and started him this week. I think Gerard Mayo post game, he kind of softened his language a little bit. You know, he's been pretty definitive that they're sticking with Jacobi Percet so far this year. And he left a little bit of wiggle room for himself in case he wants to change his mind this week after the game yesterday. So we'll see, man. I would probably
00:19:07
Speaker
I think I was still leaning towards waiting a little bit, man, just because at this point, the development of Drake may has more important than any, you know, wins and losses record, um, this season. Yeah, I can agree with that. So yeah, I mean, I think we're kind of both in agreement here. Like he probably should be playing, but is it the right thing to do at this point? Maybe not. Um, but that's really all I got for NFL news this week. I know you got some questions for us to answer, so let's get into those.
00:19:36
Speaker
All right. Yeah, I got a couple of topics. So we'll start off first with our quarter poll awards point. We're going to hit the three big ones first off rookie of the year. We kind of touched on it, man. I think Jayden Daniels run away with this thing. Yeah, it's not even like there's not even a close second. I don't think.
00:19:51
Speaker
Yeah. He's killing it, man. Like, you know, we've been conditioned to expect rookie QBs come in and perform well because we've seen it so often over the last 10, 15 years, but he's still setting a brand new standard, man. What he, what he is doing is really special. The point where, dude, he's down here in the MVP mix, man. Caleb Williams, Caleb Williams has started to play better in the last couple of weeks, but you got to look at the level of competition he's playing against too. So yeah, but he's, I agreed, you know, he's looked a lot more impressive last couple of weeks, man. Let's go to a coach of the year.
00:20:22
Speaker
Umm...
00:20:26
Speaker
I think he may stay right there in the nation's capital, bro. I think I'll DQ, man. Might be the leader in the clubhouse right now, dude. I think he got him and then Kevin O'Connell for the Vikings, dude, losing the first round draft pick and what he's dealing with Sam Darley. Yeah, and losing Kirk Cousins as well. I'd probably give the edge to O'Connell right now just because of, I mean, dude, they're 5-0. They're the only undefeated left in the NFC.
00:20:52
Speaker
They're definitely overachieving. I mean, I think that team's win loss record for Vegas was six and a half. Like that was the over under. So I would give it to him right now, but DQ is definitely right there. I'm going DQ just cause he's an old favorite man. So I'm going to give him the nod and they're the Redskins or the excuse me, the commanders. I'm thinking it was going to be worst team in the league. So, uh, I'm going DQ and then MVP so far, man. I mean, going into this weeks ago, Donald was running away with it.
00:21:21
Speaker
Dude, I'm gonna be honest, I don't even know who would get it right now if the season ended.
00:21:27
Speaker
To me, you got C.J. Stroud. I really think Jay Daniels is in the mix. I think you got Darnold, C.J. Stroud, and Jay Daniels. Lamar should be in. Lamar's been playing good. Up to two weeks ago, Josh Allen was playing great, but he's kind of fallen off a cliff the last couple weeks, man. Josh Allen was kind of running away with it a couple weeks ago. He still hasn't thrown a pick this year, though. I can't believe Josh Allen. Yeah, but he was nine for 30 passing yesterday. He is bad right now. I mean, he's thrown for 945 yards through five weeks.
00:21:57
Speaker
I think the last the last two weeks you've really seen you know the first three weeks we got to see the joy of not having a true wide receiver one and all the good that can do the last two weeks we've seen the agony of it because there's sometimes when the defense is clamping you down and you need a guy that can just straight up get open find space and get you a first down and the Bills do not have that guy on the roster right now and they're receiving court.
00:22:18
Speaker
No, they do not. But yeah, I think the picture is definitely very murky right now though. We don't, there's, we probably don't, aren't even talking about whoever's actually going to end up winning it this year. I agree. All right. And then another segment I wanted to do. All right. Contender or pretender, man. So we're going to go through all the teams that are 500 or better right now and just declare, do we think they are a contender or a

NFC Contenders or Pretenders?

00:22:44
Speaker
pretender? And to me, contender means
00:22:47
Speaker
They could be in the final four, man. They could be playing the conference championship or beyond. That's a true contender to me, man, making it to the final four. So with those parameters, we'll get into it, man. We'll start out in the NFC East. We've been glazing them all day, dude, the commanders. Pretender. I agree. I can't see them in the final four. We've been building them up so much. But to me, they feel like a team that's got a great regular season and goes down swinging, man. Cowboys. Pretender. It's not happening.
00:23:16
Speaker
I say pretend to Eagles. Well, they're at 500. Uh, I think contender, dude, I think they could get it together. I think they're, I think there's a ton of room for potential or potential for growth. I'm not going to, I'm going to go back on what I said in the preseason. I think this team is gone, dude. I think this locker room is just cooked at this point. So Sirani is a terrible head coach. He just does not have any control over this team at all. I think they're a pretender.
00:23:43
Speaker
All right. So no contenders in the NFC for Jordan. I'm sticking with the Eagles. Seahawks. Yeah, we can move along. Pretender. The Vikings.
00:23:54
Speaker
Dude, if their defense keeps playing like this, to me, they're a contender. I mean, the offense been playing good too. They had off game. I'm going to say just for now that they're still a pretender. Cause I just don't believe this can continue for 17 weeks. I just, and especially the division they're in, I think Detroit is still the best team in that division. And I think it'll show by the end of the season. So for right now, I'm going to say pretender.
00:24:16
Speaker
This is just ass backwards, man, because I'm the one that picks against him every week and you've been showing them some love. I think they are a true contender, dude. I think this team is really, really good, man. They remind me a lot of that 2017 team that made it to the NFC Championship against the Eagles. I think they're a true contender, man. I think they're definitely a team that's going to need to have home field in the playoffs.
00:24:40
Speaker
Um, and, and get a couple of lucky balances. Cause I'd still think talent wise, there's teams that could edge them out, but I think they're a contender lions. I think is a contender. I think everything's ahead of the line. I think there's really good. I think this is the contender in the NFC. Honestly, from what I've seen through five weeks, I just, I feel like this team has the most talented team in the NFC at this point.
00:25:01
Speaker
Bears, I think pretender, man. I don't think the Bears even end up with a winning record. I think there's a little bit of smoke and mirrors to this early season start. I agree. Pretender. Packers have looked way less impressive than I was expecting, but they were my Super Bowl pick. I'm sticking with it. I still think they're a contender if they can get it together. Remember, last season, they were much better in the second half of the year than the first half as well.
00:25:21
Speaker
I do not love what I'm seeing from Jordan Love these past two weeks, dude. He's throwing off his back foot so much. I mean, he is coming back from the sprained ankle. We can't discount that, dude. We were expecting him to be gone five, six weeks, man. He's already back. You got to give a little bit of consideration to that. I'll say contender just because I need to have a few in here, but I don't feel great about it at this point.
00:25:45
Speaker
Falcons three and two hate to say it. I'm calling him pretender, man. I can't see them as a final four team, but then again, Kirk cousins plays like you played last week. Like, I mean, they can, they're in the mix, man. I see, I, I totally see them taking a playing in a close game in the divisional round, but I think unless they had a little bit of luck, I just, I'm good. Yeah. Pretender.
00:26:08
Speaker
Bucks, dude, I'm going to contender, man. I know they took the, I know they, we just saw them get beat by the Falcons, dude. I think the, but the bucks got is just a little bit more consistent than what the Falcons got, man. I think they got a chip on their shoulder. I was really like what I've seen out of Tampa Bay, um, so far this year, dude. So I think they're a fringe contender. I disagree. I don't think Tampa Bay is that good, man. I just, they're a good team, but I don't think they're good enough to get to the final four. I mean,
00:26:34
Speaker
Dude, these last three weeks, yeah, they looked good against Philadelphia, but they lost to Atlanta and they got boat raced by Denver. I think if they run into a team

Bills and Chiefs' NFC Contention

00:26:42
Speaker
that has a good defense, I think they're screwed because their defense isn't good enough to just win like a 10 seven game. Their defense is nowhere near what it was.
00:26:52
Speaker
Saints are 500 for now two and two hard pretender that we can move on Alright, let's go to AFC bills three and two as bad as it's been the last two weeks. I still think they're a contender They looked awesome the first three weeks and Josh Allen just a gamer. He's always gonna be a tough out in the playoffs, dude I'm sorry, man. I think this is a pretender. I don't think this team is very good. I like
00:27:13
Speaker
They beat Arizona week one, which, okay. They beat Miami week two and the two a concussion game. They beat Jacksonville, which whatever. Then they got killed by Baltimore and they lost a close game to Houston. I just, I don't think this team is as good as even as good as the three and two record. Their offenses look miserable the last two weeks.
00:27:33
Speaker
All right, fair enough. Dude, the problem is, is who does Josh Allen count on when it comes down to the end of the game? Like, you can tell he doesn't trust anybody on that team. I mean, this time tomorrow, it may be Devontae Adams, dude, for all we know. I don't know. I just, I just, I got a ton of belief in Josh Allen. He's a favorite of mine. I, I think one of these years they're going to break through, man. They got to, dude, but, but yeah. So I'm still, I admit the last two weeks have been absolutely brutal, but I'm still holding up faith.
00:28:00
Speaker
All right, Chiefs, I think they're at the absolute tippy top of contenders. They're Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers. You got to kill them, chop their head off, and set them on fire to get these guys out of here. I know Jordan's not impressed with the weight slips so far this year. They're still an absolute contender, though. I'm not a big hit.
00:28:18
Speaker
To me, this team just knows how to win, dude. There's no way to quantify that, but it just seems like fourth quarter, they're going to make the two or three plays that end up deciding the game. It seems like they always got away going the Chiefs way. Broncos inexplicably at three and two, man, their defense is actually playing world class right now. And Bo Nix isn't working against him anymore. But pretenders, as fun as that story is. They're a pretender, but their defense is going to keep them in every game, man.
00:28:44
Speaker
Chargers at two and two, I think there's just too many injuries and just not quite enough talent, man. I think I thought this year they were going to be a little bit more of a team to be reckoned with. I think next year, you know, I'm pushing my projections back for you. I think next year I'll go and lock them in as a strong contender. But it's just not enough talent on board. Jim Harbaugh needs another draft, another year free agency. Through four games, they've scored 68 points. Yeah, this is not a good team. Pretender. Yeah.
00:29:12
Speaker
I think they're well coached. I don't think anybody's going to be looking forward to seeing them on the schedule. But I just think that, dude, I think the wins that they have, they're going to have to freaking earn it, dude. I don't think they're getting any easy wins this year. And it's just tough to get to 10, 11 wins if that's the style of football you're playing.
00:29:28
Speaker
Ravens, three and two, possibly one of the best three and two teams in NFL history. Very, very strong contender right in the mix. Steelers, three and two, I think they're a contender as well, man. I know they lost too straight after that impressive start, dude, but their defense is so good. And I think Justin Fields is going to continue to get better. So I kind of got them as a fringe contender, just basically got the strength of that defense and that home field advantage if they're able to end up winning the AFC North.
00:29:56
Speaker
I don't think their offense can do enough, man. The last two weeks, I really have noticed from Steeler fans are really starting to go in on Arthur Smith because he's doing the exact same shit he was doing in Atlanta, where he just does not use his talented players and playmakers and doesn't get the ball in their hand enough. Dude, Najee Harris has 82 carries and he has zero touchdowns on the season. Like, how is that even fucking possible? Dude, he's, and don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Najee Harris is good. It's just,
00:30:25
Speaker
It's mind boggling to me that a team that runs like the Steelers do can't even get their number one running. They have no running backs with a touchdown this season. Justin Fields is the only person on their team that has a rushing touchdown.
00:30:38
Speaker
Yeah, I agree with you man to me like when I call them a contender like in my mind I'm seeing them winning the AFC North having a home field that you know a couple home games where there's just some drizzling shits whether didn't you know when 16 to 13 or something like that just totally just shutting down the other team's offense and Sneaking out with a win that that's the type of contender. I see them being through through five games They have eight offensive touchdowns like
00:31:03
Speaker
Yeah. I mean, is this not what we all said before the season started about Arthur Smith? Like, dude, his offense is not meant for the NFL anymore. And it's not, I don't know how anybody saw what he'd done the last three years, but the pretty considerable, I mean, outside of the QB position, the rest of the talent was pretty damn good in Atlanta. And I don't know how anybody saw what he had done and said, yeah, let me, I need some of that on my team. Yeah. I just, I just, there's their offense is not good enough for me to think that they're a contender. So yeah, I'll go pretender for them.
00:31:33
Speaker
All right. Last team, man. Detections. I think they're a contender, dude. Yeah, they're definitely a contender. That's a good team. I do think there's some alarm bells. 4-1 is 4-1. We're big fans of Bill Parcell's overall philosophy on football, on this podcast. And one of his famous things is you are
00:31:51
Speaker
what you record says there are, but you know, I was kind of fading them a little bit before the season that you know, me, dude, point differential. They actually have a negative point differential despite being four and one right now. So I think they've been eking out some close ones. And we talked about that too. CJ Stroud's got some magic to him. He's got a little bit of the Mahomes dust, the Tom Brady dust. As long as you can keep it close, he'll find a way to make a handful of plays down the stretch to carry them. So I still got a little bit of concerns on
00:32:16
Speaker
I still got a little bit of concerns on the Texans, but still got to call him a contender, man. They're, they're looking pretty strong. Nico Collins looking like one of the best wide receivers in the league. I really hope not for my fantasy team. Cause it sucks for them. I hope for the Texans sake that they do give him a couple of weeks off to heal that hamstring. Cause that's something I know from all those Julio Jones years with the Titans, that's the type of thing that can really just linger and limit you for the rest of the season. If you don't give it a chance to heal. Yeah, he's, he, they're not going to bring him back until he's completely healthy. I just, D'Amico Ryan's is a great head coach.
00:32:48
Speaker
All right, and now last thing before we move on, pick one team that currently has a losing record that will make the playoffs.
00:33:03
Speaker
don't go 40 Niners, dude. Cause that's the biggest cop out ever. I'll go, you know, I'm not sure they're going to make it, dude. I think the injuries are going to keep piling up. I don't think we see Kristen McCaffrey this year, man. If you put a gun in my head right now, I don't think he plays this year. I think I, cause I think you're going to see the Niners take a, you know, a couple more L's kind of fade on the playoff picture and it's just not going to be worth it. I think it fit.
00:33:25
Speaker
I think he's going to get to a point where he is ready. But I think at that time, if the Niners aren't looking like a solid Super Bowl contender, why bring him back? Because you could always reload for next season. It just looks like this year is not their time for them. I'm going to go Jets as my team that is under 500 that makes the playoffs.

49ers and Jets: Playoff Prospects

00:33:44
Speaker
You think the Jets are going to get together?
00:33:47
Speaker
No, I just don't think there's anybody else worth fucking picking in the AFC right now to be completely honest. Yeah, I'm looking at like, excuse me, I look like, you know, the Bengals at 1-in-4 is just such a tough hole to climb out of, man.
00:34:00
Speaker
That's tough, dude. Cause you figure at minimum, you, excuse me, at minimum, you probably got to go 10 and seven to be able to sniff a wild card. And it's like, do I think the bangles can go nine and three over their last 12? And I mean, it's possible, but look at their schedule, the rest of the season, their, their easy games have already happened. Like, yeah, that team does not give me any hope right now.
00:34:25
Speaker
If like my family's life was on the line and I had to pick one of these teams to go in and play one game to win. I think I'd still probably take the bangles, but yeah, it just seems like it's a long shot, man, for them to get, get back in the playoff picture. And then NFC like, dude, there's nobody, I feel comfortable even remotely picking in the NFC that's under 500 right now. Yeah. The 49ers are not good, man. That, that isn't it.
00:34:50
Speaker
I'm going to give them a couple more and it's just, I'm going to give them a couple more weeks, but like, they just don't look like a, seems like this season. They don't got it, man. It seems like they got some retooling to do, whether it's with the scheme or with the personnel. Yeah. They, they def they're definitely a level down, dude. And there's super bowl hangover too. Right? Like that's, that's definitely a very real thing, man. Almost there. It's, that's a very tough thing to shake when you come and they came closer than most dude actually went in the freaking super bowl, man. So
00:35:17
Speaker
Uh, and I think that's a very real thing. Their next three games before their bye week and they keep coming out of there by listening to this schedule. They're at Seattle, Kansas city at home and Dallas at home before the bye. Then they come off the by the crucible man. And then they come off the fucking by and they got to go to Tampa Bay, uh, home against Seattle at green Bay at Buffalo. Like that's their next seven games. There's not an easy game in sight, man. So we'll see, uh,
00:35:45
Speaker
We'll see what they do, man. It's going to have to be all hands on deck type effort. But yeah, it just feels like they've definitely they dropped away class this this season for sure. All right. Let's get into Uniwatch. Oh, excuse me. We got our college football picks first. Get to hear this great song. We almost skipped over it this week. Yeah. Time is going to be back. All right.
00:36:15
Speaker
All right, here's our top 25 matchups this week. It's going to be an absolutely awesome weekend of football. First off, dude, the Red River shootout, man, or excuse me, we got to use the politically correct term. It's the Red River rivalry now. We got Texas and Oklahoma. It's going to be a tough test for Texas. Do we know, is Quinn Ewers coming back? Or are we still against Arsenal? He's playing this week.
00:36:38
Speaker
All right. I think Texas wins, man, but I could see this one being a little bit hairy, dude. Oklahoma is going to be fired up, man. So I don't think it's going to be an easy one, but I think Texas finds a way to get out of here with the dub. I think Texas absolutely blows Oklahoma out, dude. I don't even think this game's close. Oklahoma is punching way above their weight class in this game. I have not been super impressed with Oklahoma the first five weeks, and Texas is a machine this year, man.
00:37:08
Speaker
I just feel like, you know, they got punched in the mouth and embarrassed by Tennessee on that big game on national TV, man. I just feel like they get a little bit of that sooner sooner boom or pride going and find a way to make this a close one. Also, we have another matchup of the century, dude. Somehow this is a Big Ten conference game. Oregon and Ohio State in in Oregon, man. I I think Ohio State's defense is just too dang tough, man. I think they find a way to put the clamps on Dylan. I'm not a huge believer in Dylan Gabriel either for the Ducks.
00:37:38
Speaker
I think Oregon walks out of there and escapes up. What's going to be just an absolutely insane environment with the win? Yeah, Ohio State's winning this game, dude. I just.
00:37:48
Speaker
I'm not sold on Oregon at all. I mean, this is the number two versus the number three team, and Ohio State is favored on the road by three and a half. Yeah, I think Oregon is number three just because of the attrition so far this season. We've seen so many heavyweights going down there. They're not necessarily the best. They're just one of the survivors right now of the early part of the season. Yeah.
00:38:09
Speaker
Number nine Ole Miss number 13 LSU. I think Ole Miss rolls them dude. I think LSU is a little bit overrated man I think Ole Miss probably a little bit overrated too, but I got a little bit more faith in them I think they're gonna go into death Valley and get the win. We can't pick the same teams every game. I'm gonna go LSU just to be different I don't think
00:38:26
Speaker
I mean, I could see their team winning this game. This is truly the biggest toss up to me out of these three games, but it's an LSU night game. That definitely counts for something. That's always going to be an absolutely insane environment. This the stadium pulse is going to be going off the charts. USC absolutely fucked us out of a fourth top 25 matchup this weekend, but you dickheads. All right, let's move on to to you and you watch now for real this time.
00:39:11
Speaker
All right, big week for the uniforms this week, man. Starting off our two college teams are ones we just talked about, man. Oregon and Ohio State. Oregon rocking the all yellow unis with the black and silver helmets. I thought these were absolutely stunning. I mean, what does Oregon wear that's not stunning at this point? Like, dude, even for them, even for them, I thought these stood out. These are cool. These are really good.
00:39:33
Speaker
Ohio State rocking the rare alternates with the all gray. I don't like these. Again, this is another school that I don't think needs to do anything different. I like their normal unis just fine and just too much gray for me, dude. I don't think I'm a big fan of the gray out.
00:39:49
Speaker
They were, yeah, I agree. They have one of the absolute timeless jerseys in all sports, man. Never need to alter anything done with it. But I did think these were pretty nice. Yeah, they're cool. Going to NFL, we saw Houston debut their Houston ice jerseys. We've criticized black for black's sake in the past. I thought these were clean, though, man. Somehow it's like the shade of black was somehow darker than what we've seen other teams use for black. And the bright red and blue just set it off, man. I thought these were really, really cool. If I'm a 10-year-old in Houston,
00:40:18
Speaker
I'm not leaving that stadium without my parents buying me one of those jerseys. Dude, and tank Dell had on the sky blue sleeves underneath and it just made it off. Dude, these should be worn for night games only though. These are sick. I love these seeing them on Houston. This changed my opinion on these. These are sick.
00:40:40
Speaker
Something cool that has happened over the last two or three years, for about a decade there, dude, flat black was like the thing, right? It looked really cool, right? People love to get the black flat helmets with no gloss or anything on them. But it seems like the last two or three years, the glossy helmets have made a comeback. And I feel like it just... I don't know if it's something new they put on the helmets. Dude, those helmets were so freaking dark and shiny, man. It just sets the whole thing off. Yeah, they're sick.
00:41:06
Speaker
Niners rock their 90s throwbacks. These are the you know from the Steve Young era with the white pants and the black outline around the letters They're another team that has absolutely perfect base uniforms, but but these were beautiful man. I'm always a big fan when they break these out Yeah, I love using the old gold for the for the Niners using that helmet and stuff like it. That's just beautiful. I
00:41:28
Speaker
The Broncos, dude. How are, you know, they just had new uniforms this year, man. Like, look at that. I sent Jordan this picture of Bo Nicks. Like, it looks like AI generated. It's such an absolutely perfect football picture, man. Like, how do they not just go back to these for their base uniforms, man? Like, I mean, like the Falcons throwbacks are a little bit better than, you know, than their regular uniforms. These are just absolutely light years ahead of the Broncos base uniforms, man. Like, just absolutely beautiful jersey.
00:41:58
Speaker
Yeah, this is one of my favorite helmet and jersey combos in NFL history. It's just, it's a beautiful one. It's funny. You just brought the Falcons throwbacks cause JJ Watt on Thursday night said, this is by far the best uni combination. The ones the Falcons had on Thursday night, they do look really clean. Like dude, I just think it's something about like nostalgia for us. Like this is the helmets and, and jerseys and stuff that we all grew up on. So seeing them,
00:42:25
Speaker
in the year 2024. It's what Dion wore. Yeah, it's what Mike Vick wore. Not just that. I mean, just all these. Dude, the Broncos ones, that's how I picture the Broncos. I don't picture the stupid horse on the side of their helmet that they have now. This is what I picture when I picture the Broncos.
00:42:42
Speaker
It felt like through like the late 90s and early 2000s and the Broncos kind of ushered this in man when they switched from these to the dark blue and orange jerseys which were really really cool right like the jerseys they switched to were neat we can't we can't hate on those but I feel like when the Broncos did that that was such a revolutionary jersey that it seemed like a lot of teams copied it
00:43:01
Speaker
going with darker colors, right? That seemed like that was the thing. And back in the 90s, it was all about the super bright stuff, like this bright orange and blue. Think about the Seahawks. They're bright blue and bright green. They switched to navy blue. And I think that's what else makes it pop, like these just super bright colors. Think about the Eagles, dude. They went from light, bright green to a dark green.
00:43:22
Speaker
Yeah, I'm with you, man. The Jags, they went back to theirs. I think this is a clean uniform. To me, dude, it's not that much different from what they were now, dude. If I was just flipping through the channels, I don't think it would immediately jump out to me that this was their throwbacks. I love these. I just picture Mark Brunel out there in quarterback when I see these. I love those jerseys, dude. That's another one of my favorites.
00:43:46
Speaker
Yeah, it looked good. I like the extra gold in there. But like I said, I feel like it's not that much different from what they wear. This isn't so much an alternate, just a weird combination. This was, I was on, if you go on NFL fashion advice on Twitter, that's an absolutely great follow for this kind of stuff.

Bengals' Uniform Controversy

00:44:01
Speaker
It was the first time in franchise history that the Bengals rocked the black jerseys with the orange pants. I kind of like it, man. I think that should just be like their thing for all October for Halloween.
00:44:10
Speaker
No, don't ever do this again. Because every time I looked over, I thought the fucking Ravens were playing the Browns every time I looked over like I do not like this at all. Yeah, that's true. I guess it is a little bit too close to the brown and orange for their fellow Cleveland. I do not like this at all. I swear to God there was three times where I told Ari, I'm like, how the fuck I was like, I said some other Browns and I was like, God damn it. That's fucking bangles.

Chiefs Maintain Undefeated Streak

00:44:33
Speaker
Lastly we got the matchup we're watching right now is the Chiefs put the The finishing touches on the Saints here Saints Rock. There's kind of funky away alternate steer They got that the helmet that looks like it's got like wrapping paper going down the middle with the the floor daily stripe Not as these look fine enough, dude But I felt like the Saints there as much as I hate them their regular uniforms are pretty dang clean I don't really know what this one's doing for. Yeah, I don't understand this at all. Oh shit their cars hurt, huh?
00:45:02
Speaker
Yeah. He got sent to the, uh, that last, that deep ball that, uh, homeboy missed the over the shoulder, uh, catch on. He got hurt on that one. He got knocked down. I know. They got this little chode in here. This, this guy really looks like he's going to set the world on fire. He looks like he would rather be anywhere else in the world. He looks like, you know, like you got to get out there and play court, but I had to put down his Nintendo switch. All right, dude, you're going to get into week six picks. Yeah, let's do it.
00:45:46
Speaker
All right, Jordan, let me have it. How did we do last week? All right. Going into tonight, I was eight and five. You were six and seven. So that means on the season, I am three, oh, and two against you. Horrible. Absolutely horrible.
00:46:00
Speaker
Well, maybe every week you didn't come up with a reason why the Vikings were going to lose. We need to go back at the end of the season. What would my record be if I just picked the Vikings to win? I don't think you picked them once this season. I haven't, man. I haven't. All right, Thursday night football. We got a good, a classic NFC West rivalry, 49ers at Seahawks, both teams in a little bit of freefall.
00:46:24
Speaker
I think the, uh, I think the Niners find a way to get it done though, dude. I think they're, they're hearing all the chatter. I think they're going to rally around Brock Purdy and I think the Niners beat the Seahawks in Seattle. Yeah. San Francisco's opening as a three point favorite. I'm going to go Niners as well, but I do not feel good about this game either way. I, I just don't know. First place in the NFC West. I just don't know what to think about either one of these teams at this point.
00:46:47
Speaker
But one thing that definitely plays in their favor is the NFC West is going to be super weak this year. Like, it feels like nine wins might end up winning that division. So that's something that could keep the Niners in play maybe a little bit longer than they would normally. Shit, you're going Niners. These teams better, yeah, I'm going Niners, but these teams better start winning before the Rams get everybody back, dude. Yeah, the Rams look good those first couple of weeks, man. Even though they're still one and two, but they were like a tough one and two. We thought we were really impressed with what we'd seen out of them.
00:47:13
Speaker
but they're decimated right now. Yeah, but they start getting guys back here in a couple weeks. Better hope they're not within punching distance of first place in the NFC West because if they are, no good.
00:47:26
Speaker
All right, this is more just a spike in the football on London after winning the Revolutionary War. We're sending over the Bears and the Jack wires. I think the Bears handle their business over there and get the somehow the Chicago Bears will be four and two after six weeks. Yeah, I'm going to go Bears as well. But what a terrible football game.
00:47:48
Speaker
It always works out like that, man. It seems like even the years were like before the season, it's like a pretty good matchup. We're sending over. It ends up being a shit game almost always, man. Yeah, that's true. The Chiefs and Dolphins was the last time. I think that was like one of the few times from last season when- That was Germany. Yeah, they were solid and good. Oh, yeah. It's Europe, dude. It's all the same. It is not all the same. Phil Dunn, it's going to list- Oh, no. Phil Dunn doesn't actually watch good football, so he won't listen to this.
00:48:12
Speaker
Exactly again, it's Europe. All right Texans and Patriots in New England I think the Texans find you know, hopefully they can finally get a nice easy wind in it doesn't take some late-game heroics man I think they stopped the shit out of the Patriots and they better like that. They need a nice easy win. So yeah, I'm going Texans as well
00:48:31
Speaker
This is going to be a fun game, and we got into the early window, man. I'm surprised this one didn't get bumped to the late afternoon, dude. The 4-1 commanders traveling up the road to face the 3-2 Ravens, man. It's going to be a ton of commanders fans in the building. I think it's going to be a supercharged atmosphere.
00:48:49

I'm excited for this one, but I'm going the legs of Derek Henry just being too strong, man. We see the Ravens do good, but I hope Jay Daniels balls out, man. I hope it isn't a situation where the Ravens got some cooked up for him and we see him get shut down. I want to see him go toe to toe with Lamar and see who the last man standing is, but I do think Baltimore gets the win.
00:49:08
Speaker
Yeah, as much as I want Washington to win this game and I do want him to win this game, I just, this is a different animal they're playing on Sunday, man. Baltimore's good. Baltimore's opened up as a six and a half point favorite. That's even, you know, even as much as we're heaping praise on them, dude, that seems like a lot, dude, for a commander's team that's been the hottest in the league over the last month. Yeah, that's wild.
00:49:31
Speaker
All right, Eagles and Browns in Philly. Philly's eight and a half point favorites, dude. Jesus, dude. I think Eagles take this one, man. Yeah. As dysfunctional as I think the Eagles are right now, the Browns are even more dysfunctional, so I'm going to Eagles as well.
00:49:48
Speaker
Cards and Packers in Lambo, you know, Kyler, to me, Kyler's like early 2000s, Michael Vick, dude, like if he goes off, his team's got a chance to win any game that he's in, no matter who the opponent is. But I still got faith in the Packers. I think they do enough to get the win here. I'm going green Bay as well. This is going to be a lot of us picking the same teams this week. I looked at the schedule before we started tonight and I was like, good God.
00:50:13
Speaker
Yeah, it's for as good as the college slate is NFL kind of let this lack and man outside of that Ravens commanders matchup Bucks and Saints in New Orleans You know Saints are always good for a couple times a year where they somehow win a game They had no business winning, but I don't think this is it man. I think the Bucks bounced back from that heartbreaker Last Thursday night and get the win
00:50:33
Speaker
Yeah. Saint slide continues started two and oh, they're going to be two and four after this type of a game, man, that talk about a team coming, crashing right back down to earth to where we all thought they were going to be. If they seriously come out of week six, two and four, nothing's looking good in New Orleans. I'll say that.
00:50:54
Speaker
All right, we got an interesting one here. Colts and Titans in Nashville. Interesting in what way? With our buddy Hawk. Did you see how ugly the game of football can get, man? Colts are actually a one-point favorite here, man. It looks like Anthony Richardson is going to be out another week. So I'm going to pick Colts. That's bad for you.
00:51:11
Speaker
My official pick, I'm going Colts, assuming Joe Flacco starts just for the record, man, for the pod. If Anthony Richardson starts at QB, I think the Titans win. But if Joe Flacco is playing, I think the Colts will find a way to get this one done. We're not even, we're going just because we made plans and we're going to stick to our plans. We made, I don't think, me or Hawk either one are excited at all about wanting to watch this game just because
00:51:34
Speaker
I don't think it's gonna be an exciting explosive day of football. Maybe we can be wrong, dude. Maybe it's one of those ones where you get two shitty teams on the field and it's a barn burner. But I think we see, you know, whether it's Flacco or Richardson going against Will Levis, I think we just, I think the QBs just, you know, take turns seeing who can, who could play the most shitty throughout the afternoon and, you know, whatever team could score 12 points will win.
00:51:55
Speaker
What an excitement for you to go to this game. I mean, it's still going to be fun. NFL games are always fun, but I'm not expecting the Patriots and Colts from the mid-2000s or anything like that. Yeah, I don't think that's what you're getting. I'm going Colts as well. Chargers and Broncos in Denver. Jesus, dude. Denver. Denver might skunk the Chargers, honestly, dude.
00:52:21
Speaker
Denver's defense is playing awesome. I still think the Chargers win, man. Chargers are actually favorites in this one. On no planet and none of the multiverse, man, none of the possible outcomes of the season. Denver should have ended up being three and two, but here they are. I think they're due for a loss. It's just a general course correction, man. I think Justin Herbert and Chargers get it done. All right.
00:52:46
Speaker
Steelers and Raiders in Las Vegas. The Raiders have lost the Raiders are already having rumblings about Antonio Pierce's job. Steelers have lost two straight after a three and Oh start, dude. This one's going to be bowling shoe ugly either way. I I'm going to let you go first because I still don't know how I feel about this game. I'm going Pittsburgh. I just, I don't think the Vegas can score enough to stay in this game.
00:53:09
Speaker
Yeah, I heard there's actually going to be a QB competition this week between Aiden O'Connell and Gardner mentioned. That's never good if that's the answer at the most important position in the game. So I'll go Steelers as well. And I hadn't even heard that. That makes me feel even better.
00:53:24
Speaker
All right we got you know along with Baltimore and Washington probably game of the week late afternoon Sunday it's gonna be a rematch from that classic Saturday night game we had last season lines and Cowboys man will
00:53:40
Speaker
Will the lions, will Dan Campbell insist on going for two 15 straight times, uh, this season again? I'm going to be honest, dude. I don't think it matters in this game. Dallas is just depleted on defense right now and offense for that matter. I, I think this is where we're really going to see Detroit just punish somebody with their run game. I mean, it sounds like Parsons probably won't play this week. Lawrence is already out. Yeah.
00:54:05
Speaker
Dude, Cowboys won that game last night and it's a good win for them. But I just, I don't know, man, I didn't come out of that game thinking, Oh man, Dallas is a really good team. They're just, they have so many injuries at this point. Yeah. I think Detroit wins easily in this game.
00:54:23
Speaker
Yeah, I agree, man. They really struggled to put Pittsburgh away. It was a hell of a last last play that pass and catch to win it. But I agree, man. I think, uh, I think Detroit goes in and gets gets revenge from last season, uh, Falcons and Panthers in Carolina, dude. I swear to God. I swear to God, dude. If you come off beaten New Orleans and Tampa Bay and then go lose to Carolina, I'm a freak the fuck out. And you can feel it. There's at least a grain of doubt there though. Right. This is like classic Falcons let down.
00:54:51
Speaker
There is, but then yesterday I heard there was talk of possibly starting price young this week. They start that midget this week at quarterback. Best of luck to that team, dude. That's not a good football team at all, man. I hope the Falcons keep it going, man. Last, uh, last week definitely felt like, you know, the Falcons turned on a bit of a quarter
00:55:12
Speaker
for this season, man. It feels like we know they are going to be a legit force for the rest of the year. You got to go in to hand your business. Not only do you need to win, I think you need to win decisively, man. They're in as a six point favorite. I think they need to go in and win by two plus touchdowns on Sunday to let everybody know what the very birds are all about this year. I agree.
00:55:30
Speaker
All right, Sunday night game, dude. It's the Sunday night game this year, or this week. The one in four bangles traveling to New York to face Danny Dimes and the Giants. How, dude? How, even before the season, how did that get installed as a Sunday night game? I got nothing for this. I really don't even know what to think about either one of these two teams. Like the Giants actually had a good game yesterday, man. Beat Seattle, went in there and handled business.
00:55:59
Speaker
If the Bengals loses games, Zach Taylor should be fired. Like you cannot start a season one in five. I'm sorry. At some point the organization has to make a move, which this is the organization that famously stood behind Marvin, Marvin Lewis for playoff wins for 35 years. Just kept going with it. But I think bangles get the wind. I do too.
00:56:23
Speaker
And Monday night, the bills and jets in New York, New York or New Jersey. Uh, I think Bill's windy. I do not think the jets are good. I feel like Aaron Rogers just fading, whether it's whether he's washed up physically or if he's just mentally and emotionally checked out. I think the, uh, I think the bills get this one though. Yeah, I agree. I'm going bills as well. So that means we had one different pick this week, Denver and the chargers will decide picks league. What a game for it to come down. It's going to be a tie. They're going to tie. Yeah. It's at three to three tie.
00:56:55
Speaker
Alright, let's hit some million dollar bets. Say goodbye to the Diddler. Alright, we replaced Puff Daddy with a little scrappy. I think it's a solid upgrade. So I'll recap.
00:57:21
Speaker
Uh, Jordan lost both his bets last week and I went one and one on mine. I think that's really all it needs to be said. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
00:57:45
Speaker
I wasn't even asking them to cover the spread. I was asking for what's going to outscore the Arizona football Cardinals and they left me hanging. I lost 200,000 off of that. It was an absolutely tragic, tragic, tragic day at the books.
00:58:04
Speaker
Yeah, man. So now I'm setting at $864,000 for the year. Jordan's at a cool 1.3 mil. So I still got about a half million to make up, but I think I'm on to them. I'm going to be in the house
00:58:20
Speaker
This worked out for me last year on an actual no shit parlay. I won with some some free money from DraftKings, dude I'm betting the Colts to win and the under on points. I told you I think there's gonna be an ugly game from Colts and Titans I'm laying down 25,000 to one 89,000. That's my first bet
00:58:36
Speaker
Okay. All right. My first bet is I'm going to do a little parlay action. I'm going to go Commanders plus six and a half, Cardinals plus five, Broncos plus three, and Steelers minus three for 10,000 and that will win $136,655. Hold up, you were going too fast. So that was Commanders, Cardinals, Broncos, Steelers? Yep.
00:59:01
Speaker
Okay. And what's the bad amount? 10,000 to win 136,655. All right. And, uh, what's your second bet? Okay. Second, I'm going to do it. I'm going to try another touchdown parlay this week. Obviously I can't give you guys the odds on air because it's not out yet. I'm going to go Jordan Mason, Derek Henry, and DeAndre Swift to all score a touchdown. And I'm going to do 20 K on it.
00:59:30
Speaker
All right, my second bet, I know we were fading a little bit on the pick saying that it would be so Atlanta to blow this, but I'm actually picking the Falcons to win and cover the spread. I'm going to throw down 55,000 on that to win 104,000.
00:59:44
Speaker
All right, I hate that you just picked the Falcons but okay All right, yeah, I mean it was to cover the spread they could still it's a it's a six and a half point spread So they could still win and not cover That's a wrap man for this episode of the goal line I don't think we mentioned that the Chiefs did end up putting the the finishing touches on the Saints So they are setting at 5 and 0 we're down to the Chiefs and the Vikings Both undefeated. So again, it's it's been less than impressive but still dude
01:00:12
Speaker
Going on the quest for the three-piece, starting off 3-0, man. That's pretty wild. They got the stat up right now, dude. Patrick Mahomes does got a six-game streak with interceptions. First time in his career, that's been a thing. It's a cause for concern, but I got faith that they're going to get it cleaned up as the season goes on.
01:00:27
Speaker
Yeah, don't get me wrong. This team's still really good. It's just, I don't know. It just doesn't feel very chief's like to me. It just kind of feels like they're just kind of, yeah, like you said, sleep, walk them through the season. I still feel like their offense is a problem. Um, not in the good way. I feel like their offense is a problem in the bad way, but
01:00:44
Speaker
Again, still good team, but I will say one thing and I didn't mention it. There is a ton of parody in the NFL right now. And yeah, as a fan makes it fun. Yeah, it does. There's no like guaranteed win every week. So it's fun to see the Kansas city's also counting the playoffs during an 11 game win streak right now. Yeah.
01:01:05
Speaker
The way some teams just have losing baked into the fabric of their jerseys, the Chiefs got winning, man. They know how to get it done, man. But that's a wrap for this episode. We got an absolutely awesome week of football, man. I think the NFL, even though the matchups kind of lack a lot of sizzle, I do think that it's going to be fun actually sitting down to watch the games. Jordan, hit us with some closing thoughts, man, and we'll get out of here. Yeah, man. You guys have a good week. Enjoy your football this week, and we'll talk to you next Monday.
01:02:05
Speaker
Keepin' on holdin', I'm backin' bold, I'm still tippin' I'm composed
