Speaker: Hi, this is a tiny tale presented by yours truly, Catherine. Yep, I'm doing my first tiny tale and I'm very excited because um this story is kind of wild.
Speaker: Yeah, wanted to share my spooky experience with y'all and it's just not worth a full episode. There will be another one coming out soon, a full ep, and it's going to be a good one.
Speaker: a little teaser. It's about ah the haunted rental that I lived in for three years that um I didn't realize was haunted until like the last few months.
Speaker: Yeah, so keep your ears peeled for that one. But before um before that, I just thought I'd give you a little kind of crazy little story that I had recently um while I was sleeping.
Speaker: So, before I even go into it, I have always, like, me and Erin, we started this podcast. It sounds really ridiculous, but we all, you know, we always have loved ghosts, we've always been intrigued, before we even saw things But we saw things at a young age.
Speaker: And funnily enough, like I talk about this with Erin often, like I'm still quite a skeptical person, which I think is very good to be when you're in this world. You don't want to talk everything away as like a ghost or, you know, paranormal. You want to be very grounded in it. So I'm like that a lot with my own experiences, even though some of the stories I feel like I can't even tell because I will sound insane.
Speaker: Maybe one day. Anyway, just that's like a bit of a caveat. It's like I'm always kind of as real as these things are and I believe very much so in the supernatural. You just can't help but like sometimes as time goes by you kind of go, was I overthinking that or did I really feel that or was that really something I saw?
Speaker: Yeah, it's just kind of funny how you can start to question things. This story I'm about to tell has just kind of solidified it all for me, and I don't know why this particular kind of paranormal experience is the one that's putting it on the coffin as like, this is truth, this is real.
Speaker: i don't know, maybe I just needed things to happen in a certain sequence of events for it to feel real to me. It's a very small tale, it's a very tiny tale, but that's why...
Speaker: I'm tiny tailing it can you tell I'm excited it's my first tiny tail without Aaron it's a bit weird not having her to riff off but what you're gonna do anyway so ah let us start with this story that I've hyped up so much ah so it happened about I want to say six weeks ago five six weeks ago um I was going to bed and my roomie Erin was up, but i yeah I go to bed really early. I'm a tired gal these days, so I was like tucked in at 8.30 like a cool cat.
Speaker: And I'm fully asleep. And I put my rain app on, so I sleep with white noise. I'm one of those girls. If I don't have a fan with a towel over it in winter or...
Speaker: some sort of yeah rain app or static. Yeah, I can't sleep. So i have a rain app that I put on and I drift off to sleep. And lately, I'm not going to lie, sometimes when I have it on I feel like I can hear whispers through it. And I know that is quite a paranormal phenomena with people that have certain abilities. So sometimes it freaks me out and I turn it off.
Speaker: Um, Yeah. So this particular night I was getting a little bit of that. so I was drifting off to sleep and I'm kind of hearing whispers and what's going on? And it didn't scare me too much, but sometimes I'll just turn, turn it off.
Speaker: But I kept it on and I was kind of just trying to hear if I could actually hear the like what was coming out of it. And sure enough, I'm falling asleep and I hear, I hear the words,
Speaker: The front door, like a whisper in my right ear because my phone's on my right side and it wasn't like right in my ear, but it it sounded more like near my phone kind of bed, just like to the right of my bed.
Speaker: And it was like audible. It wasn't in my head. You know, i hear a lot of things in my head. that come, you know, it as like an intuitive noise, if that makes sense. Like, you know, you're inner dialogue. Sometimes a lot of things pop into my head like that, that I go, oh, I wonder, is that my inner dialogue or something else?
Speaker: This was audible. it This is the first time I've ever had something that audible outside of me whispering in my vicinity without another human being being attached to the whisper.
Speaker: Anyway, so I heard that the first time. didn't make me jump scare or anything, but I was like, okay. um And then second time, I hear the exact same words, the exact same tone. It wasn't like urgent, but i was just like, check the front door.
Speaker: And I just can't emphasize how like textbook haunting it sounded. Like just a whisper. Whew. You know, like, who it was just, i was like, this is something out of a fucking horror movie.
Speaker: um So I was starting to go, do I just check the front door? This is so dumb. You know, I'm questioning it. I'm like, have I like officially lost my sanity? Happens a third time, guys.
Speaker: The front door. And I'm like, all right, I'm going to fuck it. If I get up, I was exhausted. If I get up and check this front door and there's nothing going on, i am clinically like clinically insane. Like that's where I was going with this. I was like, if I'm hearing this, nothing comes of it.
Speaker: on I'm, I'm canning this shit. Like it's all me anyway. So I get up, I check the front door and sure enough, the fly wire is not locked. And that's just something we do in this house. We double lock everything. You gotta be safe. You safe out there. Um, and it is rare for that to be unlocked. So yeah, that was my little story.
Speaker: I was blown. was like, okay, so I've heard someone whisper to check the front door three times. I've gone out. Sure enough, thank you, voice of reason. Yes, I did need to check the front door because it wasn't locked. Our flywire was open for all the scaries to, you know, potentially cause a ruckus. And who knows, maybe it was just a a gentle, you know, make sure you're locking up at night or...
Speaker: I don't know. Who knows? Like, it just makes you think like, If I didn't act that out, what if something happened that night? it It always makes me think when you get something that strong coming in, it it worries me sometimes. But, you know, maybe it was just a little nudge. Not a little nudge. It was a little voice telling me to close the front door.
Speaker: um Yeah, very cool experience. Really validated my sanity with this stuff. So, yeah, I thought that was a cool one to tell. Yeah.
Speaker: It's happened, like I've had a intuitive hit about keeping my um wallet safe. um One night, like i as a young lass, I kept my, foolishly, would keep my handbag on the kitchen table and not really bring it into my room or anything. And one night I was just like online shopping in my bed with my wallet and I went back outside to put my wallet back in my bag and intuitively I just got this like it wasn't a whisper but it was just like this no leave your wallet with you to tonight and it's the first night I was like okay so like I literally down the hallway like with my wallet and then I was like oh
Speaker: I'm gonna walk back into my room and keep my wallet in my room tonight. Sure enough, that night, got robbed. Handbag was found, thrown on, like, another bed.
Speaker: They had rummaged all my stuff, and luckily they didn't find my wallet because I slept with it next to my bed. Um, yeah. Moral of the story, follow your gut.
Speaker: If you have a hunch about something, if you're not feeling safe, if you're feeling a bit off about anything... just trust it. I tell you what, the amount of times I like don't trust it and I go why did I not trust my gut is wild and you should follow it more. Even if it makes feel stupid, wouldn't you rather be like extra safe?
Speaker: And you always know like it's gentle. Like check the front door wasn't like some thing screaming my head like oh my god you gotta do this, oh, ah, here, this, do this. No it's always very like gentle like just do this, Just check this. And if it doesn't leave your brain, if something just keeps popping in and it doesn't leave your brain, but it's like a very gentle nudge, that's when you know.
Speaker: So, um that's all I have, I hope. You enjoyed my tiny tale. And ah yeah, expect another full ep up in the next month or so. It's going to be a fun one. It's a pretty crazy one.
Speaker: but I feel ready to tell the story because, yeah this story alone has made me go, you know what? Things are real. I'm seeing things. Things are happening in my life.
Speaker: Things getting weird. So yeah, very keen to tell that story about the haunted rental. Very haunted rental. I'm not talking a ghost. I'm talking, talking many things.
Speaker: So yeah, keep, keep your your ears out for that one. and, and, and, and and and and and speak soon. i
