Canceled Ghost Tour

00:00:02
Speaker
Before we start the podcast today, just an update on the Woodman Point ghost tour, the paranormal ghost tour that we were going to go on later this month.
00:00:13
Speaker
It got cancelled, everyone. so yeah It was a real shame, we we we're really looking forward to it, but yeah there were too many difficulties getting the correct permits to conduct a paranormal ghost hunt at Woodman Point, so they have had to put that on hold and we can only hope that we'll get a chance to investigate that area maybe in the future.
00:00:38
Speaker
um But for now, pour yourself a glass of wine.

Season 2 Premiere and Haunting Stories

00:00:43
Speaker
or a coffee, or a cup of tea, and enjoy today's episode on our most haunted stay in rural Outback Australia.
00:00:55
Speaker
We're back! We're back! Hi! Welcome! This is like our official Season 2 episode of Comeback. Yes. Like actual... We're gonna um talk about some really spooky, like, first-hand ghost experiences. Yeah, we're finally gonna divulge in our Outback WA haunted abode yeah situation. Yeah, haunted experience. We kind of... um thought we'd try ghost hunting for a weekend and regretted it. Yeah, it was like our first official, like we went in mentally going, we want to go in and investigate the vibes of a place.
00:01:39
Speaker
that we know looks haunted. Like even when we were researching where we wanted to stay in this area, we were like, yeah, this place looks pretty proper haunted. yeah Like proper antique looking vibe. And they furnished it really well. Like it looked, it didn't, it wasn't like dilapidated and like unkept, but the location was definitely of the haunted variety. And it it just looked like it was something that Yeah, had just been around for long a while,
00:02:08
Speaker
um Yeah. But overall, the experience was we do things different. We would never... We're never going to stay two nights at a place again.

New Year's Ghost Hunting Plans

00:02:18
Speaker
Yeah. Like, wishing we experienced something because, like, be careful what you wish for kind of thing. Yeah. We we kind of, like, just to summarise, I remember being... I was at work...
00:02:30
Speaker
one day and Year's Eve is coming up. And I was like, Catherine, let's get out of Perth for New Year's Eve, you know, and let's just like do something for Twinterested. Like that'd be fun, but we will will also make it like a nice, yeah We'll also make it like a nice accommodation that's haunted. Relaxing vibe. Yeah. Like we we thought we could do both. Like, yeah, when we feel like wanting to tap into the hauntedness, we'll do that. But it's also got a spa and like nice comfortable bed beds. And so we could just veg out because we were both like we were both so exhausted. were just like, we could be able to veg out vegetables. yeahn And it was like 40 degree heat, by the way. Yep.
00:03:12
Speaker
January in WA was... yeah We were not, like, looking to explore this town at all. We were, like, we we're just there for the the AC and the double bed. Yes. And we're, like, we're being respectful to the owners of the place that we stayed at and just the location. We're not going to tell you where we went. Yeah, no. um Because we don't we don't want people to then start going there and being like, oh, my God, this is haunted. Let's yeah go there. Yeah, exactly. But it was in rural WA. Yeah. That's what we'll say. Exactly. yeah Exactly. You know, maybe later it down the track, but yeah. yeah Not right now. Not right now. sorry But that was the intention. And I was like, screw it. Like, let's let's not just stay the one night. Let's do two nights because we'll want we'll want to rest, right, after we experience the one haunted night.

Uncontrolled Haunting Experience

00:03:58
Speaker
We'll just want to rest.
00:04:00
Speaker
thinking Thinking we can control the haunting. like Yeah, we'll just do we'll do one night of ghost hunting and then we'll be able to chill. like That's not how it works, That's not how it works. Unless, I don't know, you really know what you're doing. No, na nah, nah.
00:04:14
Speaker
Also, this place was like haunted as shit. So I think there's less... You know what i mean? It really was. We should have into a whole thing. insane. And I think even in this two-parter, we're telling you things that we like...
00:04:30
Speaker
experience Like visually, what we heard. How we felt. How we felt. But then there's like like a lot of other stuff that we can't even, I don't even know how to start. So, you know, again, that might be an episode once we've unpacked it. But we're like, so just so you know, like you're going to hear all this stuff, but then there's like layers even beyond. There's layers between what we're telling you because we're still...
00:04:54
Speaker
processing it because this happened happened in January guys you know we're in May it's not yeah we finally wrote a timeline out after being utterly exhausted from the whole experience yeah but yeah like that aside telling these stories this is like the fun you know this is the fun part of like it was exhausting and terrifying at the time well not even terrifying it was just exhausting yeah it was exhausting we just couldn't be bothered it was annoying yeah like why like how do pardon me like ghost hunters on youtube it's like no wonder they have these big hour-long episodes that like we spent two nights at the conjuring and all this kind of stuff it's like yeah like a double feature spending a night is a big thing whereas it like so most of the episodes are like we visited for four hours i'm like yeah
00:05:38
Speaker
Yeah, that's how you generally want to do these things. exactly And I'm not going to like Catherine and i went in kind of... it's i don't know if we invited the haunted experience. I think we did. Like, let's be honest, we were very open to experiencing something. and And that can affect you, I think.
00:05:56
Speaker
Yeah. Let's be honest, because yeah we know skeptics, they don't invite a lot in because you've got to be somewhat open to it. Even the drive home, I still was shaking off... You know, you were like, are you all right now? And was like, no, I'm grumpy. It's like the energy of one of the people there was just on me. yeah And I just had to like breathe and be like, oh, this is so of infuriating. But we, yeah, just wanted to start from the start and just start telling you guys what we felt like moment by moment. Yep. And you, don't know, you tell us. You tell us how you feel. Yeah.
00:06:33
Speaker
Don't do it, but hey, if you want the thrill of your life that's not a roller coaster, find the most haunted house you can. And look, this place isn't advertised as being haunted place. No, it's not. So yeah, we need to say this place isn't advertised. It's not like, come stay here because it's creepy. We were just like...
00:06:52
Speaker
Picked up on a vibe just from, you know, those photos that you see of like old hotels and you're like, yep, that'll have a weird dingy

Emotional Impact of Ghost Encounters

00:07:00
Speaker
corner. Yeah, exactly. That's all we did. But then I really was like, I was sold by the comfortable styling of the bedrooms. I was like, it's going to be haunted, but comfy. And it like, listen, it was until, until the view things just got too loud. Yeah. Like that bed was super comfy. Yeah.
00:07:17
Speaker
Anyway. All right, so Catherine, I'm going to, like, Catherine lead the charge here. And the reason is, like, I'm going to get all nerdy, but, and I'm not, this isn't like a weird, like, I hope I don't sound arrogant or anything like that. It's not a flex, Erin. It's not a flex, and it isn't a flex, trust me. No, it's not. But because I've been seeing spirits on and off since so young. Yeah, since so young, and being so aware of it and kind of working through it, like I have had people help me and all that kind of stuff,
00:07:48
Speaker
i I just feel like maybe... I went in a little bit deer in a headlights. Yes. um And quite excited.
00:08:00
Speaker
Not going to i think yeah this is wrong I think I wasn't as open to it. I was kind of like guarded the whole way through. Because you've always been like, I don't want to stay in a hotel and feel like there's something haunting me. like You've always had like that. I've done my protection things. just like, I just want to connect to this and then But Catherine, you... We're like very ready to just be like, let's have a chat and I'm going to do this. and Yeah, yeah.
00:08:21
Speaker
And it's like a good lesson. In discernment because you don't want to chat to everyone. but we we were also like you did have intention. You're like, we don't want to invite anything bad in. Yeah. and you But that was another lesson there. yeah Your intentions don't mean shit when certain things want to be seen or heard or felt. So, yeah, that was definitely a lesson for me. Yeah.
00:08:43
Speaker
in just like, I don't don't. Just don't. Yeah. I don't know. And I'm still like, while Catherine talks, I might interject and be like, it's just interesting. Yeah, well, just banter. Yeah. Just have some friendly banter about it. but And listen, I'm just going to kind of spit facts.
00:09:00
Speaker
That's all. Yeah. It's our haunted experience. Yeah. Share our story. Yeah. So we went, we had our own rooms, by

Daytime Eerie Feelings

00:09:06
Speaker
the way. me and Erin, as much as we love each other, would throttle each other if we ever had to share a bed again after traveling for four months a very long time ago.
00:09:14
Speaker
um we are adults. We needed our own space, our own room. Don't need a top and tail this shit anymore. so we had and it's funny you say that, Catherine, because we did end up sharing. We did. we we did, didn't You know, little bit of a teaser on day two. um So that was that is quite humorous. Like maybe we fucking should have. We needed to hold each other. Anyway, yeah like it was kind of classic haunting stuff, right? So when in, when um like went up, got to our rooms and had it like a little lie down separately.
00:09:50
Speaker
and It was a long drive. It was a warm drive. Yeah. needed like you know You check into a place after a long drive. We needed to just rest and shower. yeah Crank that AC. yeah And it was for me, like the very first experience was just like having that first shower in the afternoon and just hearing... like taps like on my shower door while I was showering and I was just like I weirdly have had that a few times in my experience of being in like you know medieval Europe areas and stuff. Yes, Prague and everything. Yeah, Prague that was it. i had some like creepy bathroom times and I was like oh this is ringing some bells so it didn't scare me but it definitely was abnormal like hearing the knocking was not something that
00:10:36
Speaker
I could easily put down to like just creaking house stuff. So it didn't scare me, but I knew it was off, a bit off. um And then, you know, we're there for the ghosty vibe. So I was kind of just feeling out the room and it was just the typical, like the closet felt. disgusting but we know you know spirits and stuff they like to hide out in the the dank areas yeah um yeah yeah so for me it was definitely the toilet bathroom and the and the walk-in closet was like very just eyes on you kind of feeling
00:11:08
Speaker
um You had something parallel to my shower, I thought? I did. I did. So i kind of i had a little bit of a lie down. I think I was lucky because you drove us there, didn't you? Yeah. So I was a little bit more caffeinated. I just had a coffee and smashed a continental roll. Yeah.
00:11:28
Speaker
Shout out to the cafe that was closing and you know, Country Hospitality. They let me order a That was very good. That was very good. Yeah. So I was a little more awake. So I was just unpacking in the room. And my thing that I was doing was like I was investigating the space between both of our bedrooms. So this this guest house, you walk up the stairs and the kitchen area is downstairs, right? So Catherine and i are both upstairs. So you go up the stairs to the, like, land landing yeah and then there's a bedroom on the left, which is Catherine's room, and a bedroom on the right, which is my room. So I, while Catherine was having a, like, while you having a shower, I think I was actually, that's right i was looking around in that space and because it was a hot day, it was just very musky, but
00:12:19
Speaker
It just all sounds so classic. Yeah, it but does. just it It just is what it is. yeah so I'll just say it anyway. But I was on the the landing and I was just like, whoa, when I got a little bit dizzy and I was like, kind of my body started to like push you back a bit. i was like, oh, it's almost like I could fall down these stairs. Yeah.
00:12:36
Speaker
So that's something I experienced there. and I feel like we can say that that is kind of like a. Intuitive nudge, like sometimes you think you're not tapping into something, but like those thoughts are even like, there's probably history of someone being pushed down those stairs because you're feeling that in that moment, like, oh, why does it feel like I could heavily lean back? Yeah, it's an interesting feeling to have. like Exactly. And there was no power of suggestion yeah around me because I was actually just looking at the decor. I was like, yeah oh, this is a cute vase and nice ceramic Exactly. And stuff like that. But then i was like, whoa. And that's when you know people, as if it's not even on your mind. And then something hits like that. Like, I know we've got intrusive thoughts, but it's also like that was so... That was so, yeah, yeah, out of nowhere.
00:13:18
Speaker
So that was the first thing I kind of experienced. And then I eventually... was like looking at the room and yeah, the closet felt weird and typical, but I was like, is it just because it's an, it was a very antique closet. So I was like, that's probably, this is retrospectively I'm thinking now, the energy of the person who maybe owned that before them.
00:13:37
Speaker
But my share experience wasn't nice. I felt like there was a peeping Tom the energy around. yeah so yeah, I literally closed the bathroom door and it opened and started to creak open. And I was like, that's weird. Mm-hmm.
00:13:53
Speaker
But I don't know, it was on a slant. But I did try and recreate it and I couldn't. But it's so easy, guys, to explain away yeah every weird thing. So I was just like, oh, yeah, it's on a tilt.
00:14:03
Speaker
That wasn't closed. And I love that for us. Like, we were very grounded and tried to explain away, yeah like, a lot of things. yeah So, yeah. Proud of us for that. Yeah, we're not...
00:14:15
Speaker
flailing our arms three hours into this in the investigation. No. We were just settling in. But yeah, my share experience was that I was okay and then the door opened by itself. So yeah even saying it now I was like, that's not normal. No. So that happened to me and it was gross. um Yeah. And then we, yeah, just got all done up for our night on the town. Twas New Year's Eve. Twas New Year's Eve. It was a sad one. We tried so hard and were like, let's get the fuck back in the hotel because this is a sad state of affairs.
00:14:46
Speaker
And people know when your city folks don't dress up too much because they will be like, what are you doing? Anyway, we had a few drinks. We had a sparkling the local. Yeah. And then waddled. Oh, got some Chinese. Got some Chinese. Local Chinese. Fucking, yeah. And then I am pathetic. Oh, what? Just a funny side note to break up the Haunted.
00:15:10
Speaker
We didn't have any cutlery, so when we got back to eat our Chinese, I didn't even tell you this, but I text someone. I text the host, because they're like, if you need anything, let us know, we can run it to your room. So i was like, do you have any knives and forks?
00:15:23
Speaker
Like, we're we're just eating dinner. No problem if you can't. And they never responded. And I remember just being like, you guys, why are you offering this service if you can't provide it? But in the morning... Oh, no. i'd Yeah, I didn't tell this, because I was just like, I can't even bother to explain it, because we were in the throes of...
00:15:40
Speaker
The haunted. Being exhausted. Yeah. But yeah, I had text an Airbnb host from like two years ago. Oh God, I didn't know that. That's fucking hilarious. And had their number in my phone. So this poor Airbnb host is probably hosting someone. Got any knives on box?
00:15:55
Speaker
Gone to their house. Like, here are your knives and forks. Like, 9 p.m. Knives and forks? They didn't respond, but I was just like, good thing I didn't keep. Yeah. Like, excuse me. Because they were lovely and they would have fucking given us a love. Anyway, we did really well with cheese knives and do we it? I don't know. A spoon? We teaspoons. Oh, our teaspoons from the tea and coffee stations. Yep. Teaspoons in Chinese. Works. Anyway, check the numbers before. Oh, my God.
00:16:21
Speaker
That's so funny. I didn't know that. Thank you for not telling me that. Yeah. Oh, maybe I would have needed that laugh this fucking I know. It was little bit highly strung the next day. um So, but yeah, we came home. we had You had a Guinness. I had a Kilkenny. Yeah. And I...
00:16:36
Speaker
I just can't do things when I can't do things because I'm a tired girly. So I unfortunately didn't last very long because it was New Eve, wasn't it, that first night? It was New Year's Eve, New Year's Eve, went to bed at 9 p.m., guys. Pretty cool. And Erin was like, fuck this, I'm going have a fucking time in the spa. Like, it was a very cool setup, like spa on the deck.
00:17:01
Speaker
take it over because I was just absolutely shattered so nothing happened to me until I know about 2am but I was out for the count but Erin had some moments i do leading up to that so so yeah like I was pretty shattered but I was like you know what Fuck it.

Erin's Spa Experience

00:17:22
Speaker
I'm going to see in the new year. Like, I want to i want that clock to hit 12 a.m. and then I'm going to bed. because Yeah. i'm not like i'm I tried, man. I really wanted that, yeah I was, like, dead. Oh, fair enough. Yeah. yeah
00:17:33
Speaker
I think it was good that you got some sleep. Yeah. yeah It's true. no if Nothing else happened. Yeah. Nothing else Z-worthy. But the spa was great because it did cool down. Nothing else Z-worthy. I'm just trying.
00:17:45
Speaker
What do you mean? What? That whole sentence. I'm just like so in my own story. Trying to just like jog on from the sentence that made no sense just then. Oh, my gosh. oh No, I'm just trying to say, yes, I like had very little sleep. So it was good that I went to sleep at 9 p.m. because 9 to 1 was probably the longest stretch of sleep I got the whole time I was there. Exactly.
00:18:06
Speaker
Anyway, go that. Oh, my gosh. That's you. So, yeah, i'll I'll explain this as best I can, but I was having a great time in the spa. um and i literally was i found us a really good like spot you know spas have like little um they're like seats yeah so like i'm just gonna do this and listen to some music and you know wait for 12 to kick in so i'm sitting there and this balcony has like a section Because we're in the middle of fucking nowhere. And there's, like, no city lights. So the stars were just shining. And I'm like a star. Country town. Yep.
00:18:45
Speaker
Stars are, like, magical. They are. They're so magical. So I'm, like, and I love looking at stars and the moon and all that shit. So I'm just sitting there and I'm looking at the stars.
00:18:57
Speaker
And then I'm, like, looking at this star that's that's really weird. And I'm like, oh, this is... not looking like a star anymore. It's like looking like it's changing colour. And I'm very aware of what stars can look like when they're dying. They go to like a red. Yeah, they are multicoloured. Yeah.
00:19:13
Speaker
So i was like, this could be a dying star. And look, I also know that over the course of the time that I was looking at it, you know how like the moon rises and sets. So it moves. Yeah. yeah Like the stars move.
00:19:26
Speaker
And I think it did move. I was like, I'm pretty sure these are moving in alignment with the rest of... the constellations of stars and stuff but i i even have footage of what i've captured and i showed dad and he said it reminded him of the min min lights that are found in outback australia we'll do an episode on that yeah because i can't be bothered going into it but just google min min lights it's something that's found in um in rural areas of australia essentially an anomaly it's a bit of an anomaly
00:19:58
Speaker
um But these were really high in the sky. And I like opened up my Google Maps just to see because it was New Year's. Right. So I was like, maybe there's like a drone show going on in bloody Kalgoorlie. Yeah. like And you did get me at this point. I waddled out at like 10 p.m. And I was like, yeah, it's a bit weird. i And hung around for a bit. Because it was weird and I had to stare at them for a while. and I was like, I can't quite figure this out. Because I need to mention, that especially the light you showed me, it was hovering. Yes. it was moving around. So it wasn't a dying... so like you know It was moving in the sky because of the earth. Yes.
00:20:30
Speaker
Yeah, true. or does iting is it intelligent? earth moves, right? And the sun moves around the earth while we rotate an axis? There's all axes and You have science, anyone? Yeah. Yeah. Axis is upon it. Jesus. It's all rotation, not axis, and then all of that. um So that all axis rotations going on. ah But there was like it. That's why we thought it was a drone for a while, because it was going up.
00:20:52
Speaker
Yeah. Like quite fast and then coming back down. Yeah. And then going up like. It was. i love that you said that because yeah i think I was just so... in my head about being like, it's just a star. This just a star. So I started thinking, oh, it's it's a drone, not a dying star. Yeah. And I was thinking the same thing. And I was like, well, maybe there's more drones coming in. and Pardon me. i was like, maybe there's going to be fireworks soon. Because this was probably around 10.
00:21:18
Speaker
10 or 11, because I did text you. was like, Catherine, you need to ground me in this. Like, yeah am I seeing a weird star? Is it like 50 degrees in the spa and I'm just yeah frying my brain? Yeah. No, it it felt weird to me as well because it just wasn't letting up. Like, yeah.
00:21:36
Speaker
Weird shape. Someone's not having that much fun with a drone for hours. Like, it was just going on for hours. And the and the area that it was over, there was no city. Yeah, and um no. No rural town. complete middle of nowhere. yeah Yeah. Complete bushland area. Yeah. And then, so that was to the north. And then to the south. Mm.
00:21:55
Speaker
There was other weird shit going on in another area. Like, Ken vouched that there's definitely a lot of satellites. Like, Elon Musk has a monopoly in the skies, guys. And it kind of made me sad, like, seeing how many there were. yeah But between all the fucking trash that he's put on there the In the sky. in the storie Um...
00:22:15
Speaker
Different things. I also saw some shooting stars. Very. Truth. Yeah. yeah but Shooting stars, which was very cool. Yeah. um But then there's just those things that move a bit differently. Yes. Yeah. Like, so there was a, I think we picked up on like a a programmed satellite and because it kept it would it was in it it was going in a circular motion it would flare up and then it would disappear but it would come back around and it would come back around and it happened about like every year not even 5 minutes every like 45 seconds it was kind of crazy no it was it was longer than like 2 minutes or something but yeah it was kind of crazy that
00:22:48
Speaker
Back in the day when you looked up in the sky, you wouldn't see that much shit going on. yeah I read an article and someone was like, it's kind of sad that people won't have that. Just this is what the sky is because of all the satellites and the new technologies and all that kind of stuff. So you have to be even more discerning. Yeah.
00:23:07
Speaker
It's also kind of cool as like a control, though. true Like, because you do see the way these like mechanical things move and you're like, they're still moving at a pace that your your eye can see. It's not super fast. So if you see something shooting up and down really fast. Yeah.
00:23:22
Speaker
It's fucking lit. So true. Because, yeah, that that was like, whoa, that was weird for me. Because then that almost normalized the weird multicolored. ball of whatever, orb or whatever we were seeing. But yeah, then I saw another similar thing, like what i what we originally saw, what I originally saw. I saw another one of those away from all the satellites, but that kind of disappeared after about half an hour. I was like, I can't find it. Where's it gone? So that was my little, that's how I saw in the new was looking at this star. And the most interesting thing I saw, and I have to thank my
00:24:00
Speaker
Samsung Galaxy 24s phone. Not sponsored, guys. Not sponsor sponsored. But if you want to sponsor, it really let me zoom in on that star. And if I can incorporate the footage, we'll do it at the end and you can have a look for yourself. But what I wasn't able to capture on the um video was when I was just watching with my own eyes, it was like three little things came out of it.
00:24:27
Speaker
Yeah, and that's crazy. Like, I had waddled back to bed this time. Yeah, was, like, looking was like, are you kidding me? Like, I'm seeing, like, three little lights come out of this one star. And to me, that confirms that it wasn't a dying star because it was, like, I'm not going lie, when you Google dying star and the colours that come from it, it's like, oh, shit, maybe it was that. But, yeah, that fucking thing. That was weird. Or does that happen star? Maybe it was a dying star. Maybe I saw a collapsing dying star and then...
00:24:54
Speaker
Wait, are they, they're gas, they're not made of rocks. Yeah, but is it controlled? We need to some research and stuff. Are they like flying out of the star quite controlled? Yeah, it was controlled. It was like two came out of the left and right and then one came down the centre. And, you know, if it is something intelligent or mid-minlights whatever, like they know how to hide. Like, yeah, we'll just be a dying star. We're going to make you think we're a star. Yeah, exactly. And then we're going to have, and then it's like. They how look. Yeah, yeah.
00:25:20
Speaker
And do they know that I was watching it and they were like, oh, we're out. Yeah, they're just like ejecting. Bye. We're going down to work now and find resources. um But yeah, so that was how I saw in the Year's and Catherine vouched like that I was seeing some interesting interesting stuff.
00:25:38
Speaker
um Yeah. That's cool. um So, yeah, that was Erin's nighttime seeing in the new year. Yes. With the light. So that was like kind of something we weren't really looking for, but.
00:25:51
Speaker
You know, when you're in the middle nowhere, those stars, they shine bright and you start seeing some shit in the sky. And we did see shooting stars, which was beautiful. But yeah, so that wasn't scary. Like I will say, like if we're going to talk about paranormal experiences, it didn't scare me. i didn't feel confused, but I was like, it really gave me an activity to see in the new year. So I was like, I'm going to have another beer and just stargaze. So it was cool. Yeah.
00:26:16
Speaker
But yes, the night continued.

Catherine's Night Awakenings

00:26:18
Speaker
night, yes. So that brought in the new year. I was out. I was zonked. um And then my stuff started getting weird again.
00:26:30
Speaker
ah So what would happen is, so I just woke, you know, in the middle of the night. Like I'd had a few drinks. I wasn't completely blotto, but alcohol kind of makes you wake up in the middle of night and you don't have like the most straightforward sleep.
00:26:43
Speaker
But I was waking up like every hour on the hour and like that's not even an exaggeration. Like it was 1am, like I checked my phone and it was literally like 1.01 or 1 then I go back to bed and then it was 2.
00:27:00
Speaker
like Like literally on the hour I was just waking up um without much of a reason. Until about 2am, where I went back to sleep and my, like, typical haunting stuff just starts kicking in I heard a girl scream in my ear and it just woke me up. Like, it was it was terrifying.
00:27:25
Speaker
But again, it's almost like i will I didn't wake up like terrified because I was just like, really? i don't know. you I feel like we were both just kind of like exhausted and like, you're going to do this? Like it was more like, it was more annoyance. Like I'm just not scared of that shit, I guess. Yeah.
00:27:44
Speaker
Yeah. Like, listen, hearing it. It was rude. It was rude. Yeah. was trying to say that. And, but that felt more residual. know, if we're going to talk about where to place it in a haunting, it didn't feel intentionally. going to scream in your. Yeah. Yeah. It felt like I was hearing the screams of maybe something that happened in that room, you know, like, yeah. Wow. This is interesting. So, okay. I'm going to the questioning.
00:28:05
Speaker
Like, So is that because it didn't seem to interact with you? Yeah. yeah yeah Far out. So yes it felt residual. It felt residual because it was in my ear and it was I can't scream like a girl. Yeah. No, I was like, yeah like, you know, but it' like just think of a horror horrororra movie murder scream. Yeah. yeah yeah We're not very good at that. yeah um So, yeah, that that happened. And that's when I decided to turn my lamp on to sleep. um And I so because I had my lamp on, when I went back to sleep, obviously when you have, like a bit of light in your room, you know when your eyes are closed but you can still see shadows kind of moving yes past your eyelids. No, thank you. So that started to happen quite a bit. Like, I was just seeing things moving
00:28:52
Speaker
yeah past my eye line and I was like, that's weird. And then, you know, you get up and you try and do things to try and explain it away. Like, was that, what could have that been? yeah It just couldn't have been anything. yeah um And I did write in my notes. I don't remember this. That's quite funny. But I wrote in my notes that I did see a few, i yeah okay, I did, like few light orbs in my room, just like bright yeah lights coming in and like little orb lights, like kind of pulse that like foing yeah like little like little um flickers light bulbs yeah yeah so that was interesting but i stuck it out and just decided to keep sleeping but i was disturbed like every hour within that like every hour i was woken up by something and when it was scary when you're feeling the first night because we hadn't experienced much during the day true it was almost like ignorance is bliss so i just kept
00:29:49
Speaker
putting so Putting myself back to sleep. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I hadn't heard words from anyone. I hadn't communicated with anything. yes Spoiler alert, guys. But, yeah, I didn't have much context of what was going on, so I just went back to sleep. But I was, like, clocking it all, going, that's all a bit.
00:30:07
Speaker
Yeah, like this is a bit unusual. It's not great. yeah, yeah, yeah. Because you hear that. Like I hear that from other people's stories. Like, yeah, I'm just getting woken up every two hours or I get woken up at 3am every night. You know, you hear all those stories. But this is like the first, like you know, sometimes I don't have the greatest sleep, but I'm never waking up.
00:30:25
Speaker
No, you really aren't. Every hour on the hour. It was like they were messing with my sleep pattern. Yeah. So that was my evening, just being disturbed consistently. i like just, yeah, i like Catherine and I sort of shared our experiences with like our family and stuff. And so it's interesting hearing Catherine talk. And then I'm like,
00:30:44
Speaker
Oh, my God, what did I experience? But, yeah, i this was the first night that I kind of tried to get a sense of what was going on. what was going Trying to tap into something. I was trying to tap into something, but I was also a bit bit drunk. And, like, I'd just come off, like, this beautiful stargazing. I'm like, whoa, I just saw a star. So I was kind of going to go to bed. So I think I stayed out.
00:31:08
Speaker
And then I had to put the spa thing back on. yeah Okay. So this is my first interesting experience. but spark spark The spa. The spa. The fucking spa. And like technology...
00:31:20
Speaker
you know, fucks up and all that kind of stuff. But there was a point when I was packing away the spa and putting the thing back on like the lid, that it turned on again by itself.
00:31:32
Speaker
And I didn't think anything of because I was like, oh, is there a timer on? But I was like, why would there be a timer on for the jets? So the spa, like all of the jets in the spa just started. Yeah, turn going crazy and like right he's why would that happen at 1am like they wouldn't want to time something like that for guests at 1am exactly so i was just like this is creepy um it was creepy but i again ignorance is bliss i explained it away i was like that's weird could that be a haunted thing i don't know but i'll just turn off the spa again and love that for us yeah very again explaining away very grounded you know don't go into these things wanting everything to be a thing like yeah But it was weird. I will admit, I was just like, that that's weird. yeah
00:32:10
Speaker
That's fucking weird. So I went to bed and I was like, I remember being like, oh shit. Like, this is kind of the one night. Because we're staying two nights, but I was like, I know the second night I won't want to do ghost hunting because got drive home the next day and I don't want to be tired.
00:32:27
Speaker
Silly me. Silly silly thought. yeah Like thinking, oh, let's just do this this night because we're going to be fine tomorrow and all that. That's right. We had it, like, scheduled. in Yeah, we'll will do the haunting stuff. Oh, God.
00:32:41
Speaker
Idiots. um So I remember sitting down on the bed and trying to get a sense of... If there were so I like just to explain it, like I'm pretty closed off during the day, but I did sit down and I did want to have a little look at yeah at what I could sense in the room.
00:33:01
Speaker
Because I hadn't spent a lot of time in there because were out and stuff like that. So I just sat down and I was like, hmm, let's see what's in the room. And that's when i picked up on the energies. And again, it could have been residual. So i'm like I'm still trying to figure out whether it was an active haunting with this stuff or whether it was...
00:33:22
Speaker
Residual, which is like what they say is like an energy that kind of replays. Yeah, residuals like it's just like memories. Yeah. Somehow imprinted in in the room because of the amount of activity that happened there in real life. yeah It kind of imprints just this motion of people doing their daily things. Yeah. Or yeah, like you're not interacting. You're not interacting with something. You're like this back and forth conversation. And I'm kind of not really into having...
00:33:51
Speaker
Full back and forth conversations when anything I like to have, like, anyway, that's the conversation. Yeah, I was to say. it' just i I was a bit ignorant in that. um Yeah. But I, and I don't really dabble yeah much these days because I've just learnt more lessons and yeah done courses and and stuff like

Historical Brothel Vibes

00:34:08
Speaker
that. But anyway, the whole point of this is I picked up on This is when I actually picked up on four young women.
00:34:16
Speaker
And they were kind of just singing a song. And I just remember, like, kind of laughing myself to sleep. And I was just like, oh, gosh, like, this is quite adorable. yeah um And that's when I started to pick up on the fact that this place could have been brothel, guys. So...
00:34:33
Speaker
So this is interesting. yeah So this is why I think it's important to say how, like, we were picking up on how the space was being used. Yeah, yeah, in the in the history of it all. yeah like And you can imagine, like, middle outback Australia back in the day, like plenty way, way back in the day, while you're trying to, like, establish land and stuff. Like, yeah they'd want everything yeah around them. And it seemed like the era I was picking up on, like, they were very much wearing, like, those kind of, white yeah like long long sleeve white gowns like kind of bonnets on their heads so like what here is that 1930s? 20s? we're not good with eras guys love to google that very early Australia kind of like we're a young country and all that yes we are which is cute yeah when we don't have those like in the year 300 like we don't have that so yeah so so that's all it was and
00:35:30
Speaker
And that is an intentional me sitting down and trying to connect with something. So, yeah, I was kind of like, is there anything in the room that like wants to, you know, or what is the room for? Yeah, 1920s.
00:35:46
Speaker
We're just looking at pictures on Google, guys, to try and ground this. They weren't that fancy. Yeah, well, like, 19... Australia. australia they were They were really quite young, but they were singing a song like like I just heard, ah like, Claire Audiently, like, girls singing in my rooms, which is making me think it was residual because i think you... Did you ever hear any anything singing?
00:36:10
Speaker
No, but I heard giggling. Oh, okay. Spoiler alert for day two. Yeah. yeah i we we picked up on the OGs of these girls. I personally, unfortunately, again, very new to all this, yeah heard a lot of... com Had a lot of... know what sound is.
00:36:23
Speaker
It's crazy. Had a lot of conversations in my head. Yeah. Scribing it and stuff. And so I would say no to residual. I'd say they were actively there. Actively, yeah. Yeah. Just with my hunches and how I interacted with things. And this is where I feel bad because, like, I was really wanting sleep. So this is another thing. If you're, like, we're going to, because we're your paranormal sidekicks and all that shit, we're going give you a tip.
00:36:49
Speaker
And this is this is what I learned that night. if you're too, if you're tired and you want to go to bed, that's probably not a good time to then sit down and be like, oh I better do the ghost hunting now. And because if things are interacting with you, they can kind of get weird when you just ignore them. yeah So you better have tools. Like Erin, five Kilkenny's in, she's gone. I'll just have a little chat. And then I'm wary to talk about a few things right now. And you're like, no, no, no, no. Good night. like Yeah, I know. Right. And maybe it's like um that mediumship gift I kind of have. And I was like, oh dear, I've kind of opened it up and, maybe they they want to be talking more than i have the energy for. so
00:37:26
Speaker
wrong time Wrong timing. So maybe we just pissed some shit off. Maybe I pissed something off that night and unintentionally. No, no. I don't know. No, I don't think. Don't don't don't worry i say that about yourself. But they these girls were, these the energy of these girls were were great. yeah um But yeah, Catherine will go into some like about her next day. But me and Catherine did have a very similar um mind's eye vision that sometimes with spirits can kind of put imagery every now and then. And that's probably the craziest piece of evidence for me is, so Erin had this all happen that night. Yep. Or New Year's Day, should say. And like, so we kept a lot of things to ourselves because we kind of wanted to do that and then talk about it, like, the next day so we could maybe compare and contrast notes, you know,
00:38:15
Speaker
because things like this like if we had the same experience we'd be like well that's weird you know we're not feeding each other's delulu yeah we weren't really talking about it in real time like especially the the haunted experiences so yeah i wasn't feeling scared at this time but i did hear girls singing i don't want to repeat the song because yeah i'll sound like an idiot yeah but it was kind of adorable yeah it made me go i think This place was used as a bit of a brothel. Is that ah the right word? Yes. yeah yeah To entertain gentlemen. yeah um And these were like four very close friends. friends yeah Yeah, because they were they were all together. like They always came together. yeah And I did say, i was like me as I was falling asleep, I'm not going lie, i was like, maybe you need to talk to my sister because I'm going to the bed now.
00:39:01
Speaker
So sorry about that. Thanks for that one. Love that for me. Yeah. I was like, I'm just too tired. Erin, with all the, I know how to protect myself, but let's throw a ball at Catherine. Yeah. She's all open-minded and Labrador energy. like yeah no sheir Yeah. I was like, Catherine's wanting this. But i can I just say, there was something that did scare me that night and I did...
00:39:23
Speaker
I do remember saying, like, you can't be inside. You have to be outside all night. And I kind of it was like a man, a male masculine energy. And I remember just being like, you're out. But the creepy thing is and this is, like This is the thing that's getting me the most about this place. Yeah. We couldn't control. We couldn't you can't, like, just say stay out because it just whenever you opened a door, it was in. Yeah. like yeah So we couldn't but i I did feel like I had to keep closing the like I had to really close the curtains because it just again in that room keeping tom peeping like ah yeah I just kept feeling very watched so yeah I didn't have a great sleep because i was kind of like it's like this person is outside on the veranda
00:40:05
Speaker
Waiting, like just the energy of someone outside waiting.

Reflections on the First Night

00:40:08
Speaker
yeah So that's what I experienced and it kind of you know, broke my sleep up. Yeah. And that was like, i feel like Erin's evening was just like the bubbling point of the chaos yes that happens on day two. But let's take a little break. We will.
00:40:27
Speaker
Let's take a break. Before we get into that kind of... chaotic momentum because there was a lot but because there was a lot it's almost like maybe like yeah which is where we're still like this therapy yes
00:41:02
Speaker
So this concludes part one of our most haunted stay in rural Outback Australia. And we can't wait to get into day two with you all in our next podcast episode.
00:41:18
Speaker
Enjoy your day, week, wherever you're at. And we'll be back soon. Bye.
