Introduction & Weekly Highlights

00:00:14
Speaker
What is up, Goal Line listeners? We are back with another episode of the Goal Line. This was a very unusual week of football, to say the least, but we're going to discuss it all and preview the next seven days.

Nebraska vs. Michigan Analysis

00:00:25
Speaker
First off, let me introduce my best friend, Jordan. What's going on, man? Man, not much. Yeah, interesting week, to say the very least. I'm excited to talk about it. I'm not excited to talk about certain things, but i mean, we're going roll with it, man.
00:00:40
Speaker
Yeah, dude. um We'll kick kind of kick it off, man. Obviously, we' were very hyped up for the Nebraska game. Did you end up going to Lincoln for the game, Jordan? Yeah, we just tailgated. We didn't actually go to the game. but ah Nice. how How's the tailgate scene there? Is it is it like communal? like but You show up, kind of just ah you know mingle amongst those? Or did you guys have like your own set up?
00:01:01
Speaker
Midwest tailgate is just it's different. Lincoln is like a big potluck. Yeah, it's unreal on game day, but definitely cool. Definitely a place to check out if you haven't been. ah so bummed Tennessee canceled that home and home, man. I mean, dude, we'll get into scheduling at some point, but The way shit's going, why would anybody schedule a hard non-conference game at this point? It literally helps you. It doesn't help you at all. They give you no extra points for doing it, and you risk a loss. Now, granted, you risk a loss early in the season, and it does bump your strength schedule, but I just I don't know, man. never get the juice off of it, dude. they Yeah, I know what you're saying, man. Like, we bag on teams that for having a weak schedule, but I think you're still better off having a weaker schedule and, you know,
00:01:48
Speaker
going undefeated and then having some brutal non-conference slate. Yeah. I mean, it is what it is. um As far as the game goes, they just, they have to learn how to win these games. Like it's just, that's just where they're at right now. I mean, another close loss to a ah good team. I mean, say what you want about Michigan.
00:02:08
Speaker
They're still a good team there. They still have ton of athletes and playmakers on that team. The fact that we put up 27 points after we went down 10-0, honestly, I'm shocked they only lost thirty to twenty seven just When they went up 10-0, I felt like it was all going to go downhill from there. i mean Nebraska, two years ago, goes down 10-0, and they lose the game by 40.
00:02:32
Speaker
so i mean i'm proud of them. They kept fighting. Raiola played a hell of a game considering how much pressure he was under. I mean, he got sacked seven or eight times, and they said he was under pressure like 20 times while he dropped back to pass. So got to figure that out. But all in all, man, I'm not upset at all. It just like I wasn't pissed when the game got over. I was just I don't know. I was just kind of deflated because I really thought this was going to be the year that they they turned it around and beat a team like this. And they had every chance, man. That Hail Mary at the end of the half felt like a turning point. But
00:03:04
Speaker
It wasn't, man. They couldn't stop the run, and when you can't stop the run, you give up almost

Young Talent & Upcoming Games

00:03:09
Speaker
300 yards. It pretty much screws your chances of winning. Yeah, hung with them, man. Like you said, it's you know yeah's kind of similar to what we said about Tennessee and Georgia. You know you you you want to be past the point of moral victories, but I think it was still a solid it was a solid showing for the program regardless, like you said, compared to ah two years past. Dude, the other thing too is if you take away so Michigan had three long touchdowns in that game, which was 21 points obviously.
00:03:35
Speaker
You take those three long plays away. think they said Nebraska gave up like I don't know, 200 yards the rest of the game. If you take those big plays out of the game, they gave 120 yards passing, which that guy cannot throw an accurate ball to save his life.
00:03:49
Speaker
um But i don't know, man, 21 points off three plays is pretty tough to come back from. And they were all long touchdowns. So and don't know, man, all things considered, I don't feel like it was as bad as what I thought it could have been, but still not where you want to be. You you want to win those games, but yeah, I'm not too down on them.
00:04:09
Speaker
And more positive news, man. My Arlington 8U Tigers, dude. The freaking cardiac cats, man. Another less than 60 seconds left to go touchdown to to win, man. Two weeks straight, we we've won it in the the closing minutes. And we're 4-1 now, dude. Second place in the league. Hell yeah, that's awesome.
00:04:25
Speaker
Yeah, nine teams. the The game we lost, we should have the team we beat on ah Saturday, they beat the team that beat us, man. We just had, like i said, just a really flat showing on that one Saturday, man. So, yeah, it's to be fun. We got we played the Bartlett Panthers, then we got two weeks off, man, coming up. So We're doing a JV game tomorrow where it's all the first-year players. It's 8U, so it's kids anywhere from 7 to 9 pretty much, it's going to be all of our younger guys playing tomorrow night, so that's going be good for some solid bloopers, if nothing else. I'm looking forward to that. That's awesome. You'll have to do the football follies with the music in the background. We'll have to get plenty of game tape from Sheena. Dude, I aged a couple years tonight, man. We lined up the JV offense and had run through about 10 or 15 plays, and dude, it was
00:05:13
Speaker
I had our O-linemen, you know, holding up one holding up their hand, ask a question like they're in class, right? And then ask them, can I run the ball? I'm like, dude, you haven't run the ball all season. Why do you think you're gonna run the ball right now, man? It's like, geez. So, yeah, fun stuff, man.
00:05:25
Speaker
um But, yeah, let's ah let's get into the the meat of the show,

Heisman Contenders & Team Challenges

00:05:30
Speaker
man. So, obviously, we saw, you know, Tennessee rolled, man. <unk> they're going to have a tough game this week, man. Mississippi State, they're no pushover, dude. They're undefeated. It's going be in Starkville. Obviously, Tennessee is still heavy favorites, but this is not going be easy game, man. This is a legit team.
00:05:43
Speaker
um The spread's actually closed down, dude, which lets you know it's going tough game. It opened up at 9.5 points for Tennessee. It's down 7.5. This is a Mississippi State team that, in Starkville, they beat Arizona State. you know Arizona State was a hyped-up squad coming into the season, and it was back in Week 2. They beat them 24-20,
00:06:01
Speaker
Toscini's come ready to go, man. I think this, you know, they should definitely, by all means, they should win this game, but they got to come in to handle business, man, because Mississippi State is not going to roll over for them at all. Man, you got to strap it up every week. Like, we're going get into NFL later, but there is no down weeks in football anymore, especially college with the NIL. Like, dude, you got to come to play every week and ready to go.
00:06:22
Speaker
Dude, I will say Joey Aguilar, through four games, man, 1,100 passing yards, 12 touchdowns against three interceptions. Like, dude, the whisper is already starting to happen around, like, the the hardcore Vols media and stuff. Man, this guy could end up freaking him. If he keeps up this pace, he could end up being in the mix for Heisman end of the year.
00:06:39
Speaker
Yeah, it's going to be interesting to to see who actually does win the Heisman because there has been a lot of guys who I thought were going to be Heisman contenders this year that just says have not stepped up. So somebody will do Meanwhile, at a UCLA, man, freaking Nico's coach is gone.
00:06:55
Speaker
Just again, it just it gets worse by the week, man. Just what an all-time disaster that Nico's decision was. i I mean, there's there's not really much more we can harp on it at this point. it's just We've hit it all, but it's just it's like when you think it can't get worse, it somehow gets even worse, man. just what a yeah Like I said, feel bad for Nico, man, but it ended up end up being just a giant freaking blessing for Tennessee.
00:07:21
Speaker
Um, let's talk about non disasters. Texas Tech just absolutely steamrolled Utah in the fourth quarter of that game. They controlled pretty much that whole game. I mean, it was obviously close in the fourth quarter and then they just pulled away. Obviously some turnovers and things like that. But dude, Texas Tech looks for real, man. They look like a really good team and going to be tough to beat.
00:07:43
Speaker
Did you watch any of it? I did. I had. So, obviously, it was if you're a wrestling fan, it was a big wrestling day, man. So, I had wrestling up on the big screen, but I had college football going on the laptop right in front of me all day. So, I was watching all the games, man. And, yeah, Utah, the score looked close through three quarters, but it really wasn't, man. you were watching that game, Texas Tech was really taking it to them, man. So, yeah, they're a good squad, man. but You know, the Red Raiders are back. It's like it's 2008 all over again. They they look really good.
00:08:07
Speaker
Speaking of not good, though, Clemson
00:08:12
Speaker
dude I mean, you feel like Dabo's bulletproof, man, with just the resume he's built. But don't know. I feel like if you're Clemson, man, and again, it's been a smash success, right? Let's not throw out the baby with the bathwater, dude. Dabo at k Clemson has been an absolute smash success. He elevated that program.
00:08:28
Speaker
Big time. But I feel like if you're like the hardcore Clemson boosters, I think you're really hoping that Alabama goes ahead and parts ways with Kalen DeBoer. And that can just like give you a nice, clean, mutual parting if, you know, a Dabo goes back home to Alabama. Those don't know Dabo was a walk on wide receiver.
00:08:44
Speaker
kind of came up under Nick Saban. So it it's, his name's always kind of been in the mix to eventually get to get to that Alabama job. I feel like if you're a hardcore Clemson fan, that's what you're hoping happens, right? It feels like that would be like a win-win in a lot of ways. Let's get Dabo back to Alabama and let's just get the fresh start here. Cause obviously Clemson's a powerhouse of a ah a program and I don't think it would be, it would take too much for them to get back on top, but yeah,
00:09:07
Speaker
This season, man, we the all the preseason prognosticators were off, man. You know, Jordan, obviously, I didn't expect this, man. Jordan was a little bit higher on them than I was preseason. Nobody saw this coming, though, man. Like, they, i mean, they look about like Florida State did last year.
00:09:21
Speaker
Dude, they had the yeah the preseason number two Heisman guy in Cade Club, Nick. Everybody was picking them to win the the ACC. And there was a lot of people picking them to win the Natty. like yeah Dude, this is my thing about Dabo, though. When you start turning on the media and shit like that and you start throwing stuff out like well guess if clemson's tired of winning they can fire me and send me on down the road and all we've done here is went like dude that's not a good look for your football program at all i mean dude if you're dabbo i don't know and i don't know why i mean
00:09:55
Speaker
I get it, dude. I'm sure he's frustrated with how this is going. It's only human nature. But, like, dude, you've got such a freaking track record, man. Like, you don't got to say nothing, dude. You know what i mean? Like, his track record, like, nobody can say he's a bad college football coach, man. Like, as annoying irritating as he can be sometimes.
00:10:11
Speaker
um why are you close yeah Why are you even engaging that? Like, dude, it's just, it's a horrible look for you overall. Dude, even if you guys end up being ass, like there's ways to write it off. Like, hey, this guy or whatever, just things didn't fall our way everything like that. But when you start doing that shit, it makes you look like a complete asshole to me. Like, I just, I don't understand what exactly that was going to solve. So...
00:10:37
Speaker
ah Speaking of being completely wrong, Indiana beat the absolute dog piss out of Illinois, and I didn't even think that was possible. no i thought it was going the other way around, man. I thought, you know, I i thought Indiana was a big pretender last year, dude. I was mad that they got in.
00:10:56
Speaker
the tournament uh over alabama or south carolina i thought it could have been a way more exciting playoff man indiana was the one team i didn't have an issue with smu because i i saw i knew smu could play some ball obviously didn't have issue with boise state man we know what they could do um Indiana really felt like the you know like that Star Wars meme where Big Bird's walking with the Stormtroopers. That's what Indiana felt like coming into the tournament last year.
00:11:18
Speaker
But i'll be you know I'll say, dude, hey, we were wrong, man. Indiana, they they they're playing some good freaking football. Again, if you told me last week, said, hey, the score of this game is going to be no doubt my mind, yeah, the Illini are freaking going to whoop that ass, dude. But no, Indiana took it to them, man. maybe maybe they Do you think they have people on the team that listen goal line and it fired them up?
00:11:36
Speaker
possible but here's one thing about this indiana team this year that we're not going to be able to say if they make the playoff they will have earned it because they got to they have to go this week they play at iowa which is never an easy place to play then they get a bye week they come back at number six oregon and then uh in november they go to penn state so if They got the opposite of the Big Ten schedule that they had last year. Yeah, if they make the playoff this year, it will be fully earned. so And they had Illinois, dude. Obviously, it was a bad show on a Saturday. But, dude, I've watched Illinois play this year. That's a good football team, man. The Indiana went out there and and straight up wrecked. That was a top 10 Indiana team that they went out there and straight up wrecked.
00:12:16
Speaker
Yeah, man. So, um last one we'll talk about. We'll talk about Oklahoma. Dude, it's wild to watch this team be just this much better than they were last year. I know they had some scheduling issues and things like that last year, but...
00:12:32
Speaker
Dude, they look like an actual, like, really, really good team. um Unfortunately, their quarterback needs surgery on his hand. so I know, and I love this QB, man.
00:12:43
Speaker
I love Matier, dude. One, he's a beast to play with on College Football 26, and two, he's just fun to watch play, man. Like, he He's almost Johnny Football-esque, dude, the way he runs around with that ball, man.
00:12:55
Speaker
um Yeah, so I don't know. Hopefully they keep it going, man. um I'm not going to lie, dude. I wouldn't shed any tears, man, if dude ends up you know not being able to play when they go against Tennessee.
00:13:06
Speaker
um They said a month. So, like, they got they got a bye week this week. Dude, the I mean, they better hope what he's missing they better hope he only misses three games. I got the schedule pulled up right here.
00:13:18
Speaker
they got They got Kent State next week, which that's not good. That's a non-factor. yeah At Texas for well the Red River shootout in in Dallas. That's probably a loss, whether Matera plays or not.
00:13:28
Speaker
At South Carolina, that's tough. That's tough. miss Home against Ole Miss. At Tennessee. At Alabama. At Alabama. home against Missouri, and then home against LSU to close the season. Oh, my God, dude. Bro, even with Matier, take the injury out of it, dude. There can't be a harder schedule than that the rest of the way in football, dude. Bro, there are little That is brutal. You could play your ass off and go 500 on that stretch. You could play damn good football and go 500 on that stretch just off the way the ball bounces, man. That is brutal, dude. Seven of their last nine games are against teams that are currently ranked in the top 20
00:14:08
Speaker
Yeah. Like, I don't even yeah, that's a disaster of a schedule to close the season. Yeah, and the ones that ain't in the top 20 are still going to be rough. Aside from Kent State, there's not a game on there, dude, that you're like, oh, yeah, that's going to be there's no, like, guaranteed dubs on that schedule, man. So, I don't know. We'll see how they do, man. Shout out to Oklahoma. They're playing really good football.
00:14:30
Speaker
Bummer QB's injured. um yeah I'm not going to lie, though, dude. today It ain't looking good for the home team on them being able to keep their head above water and and persevere through this one. Yeah, that's brutal. All right, that's it for that. Let's go into our college picks.
00:14:45
Speaker
Yeah. They told me bust out my A.
00:15:00
Speaker
right, we'll kick it off in Jordan's favorite, the Big Ten. Will Illinois bounce back? They got USC. They got the undefeated Trojans, ranked number 21 in the nation, coming to town. This is an 11 o'clock kickoff, so it's an early kickoff for our West Coast team.
00:15:13
Speaker
ah But USC and at Illinois. ah you see this one going, Jordan? I don't have a good read on it, whether or not USC is actually a good football team or not. I've seen highlights. I have not watched much at all of USC this year, man.
00:15:26
Speaker
Also, can we talk? I forgot to bring this up. Can we talk about the fact that the USC game did not get over until 2 a.m. Central time on Saturday night? That's ridiculous. What are we doing? like I mean even on the West Coast, that means it's it's it's midnight and pushing midnight. da yeah yeah It was midnight. that Why the fuck would you be starting a game at 9 o'clock on the West Coast? like that That makes no sense at all.
00:15:48
Speaker
ah Yeah. As far as pick for this game, dude, Illinois is definitely going to limping into this game. that They're going to be pissed, but just based off what I what i know about football, like I'm going to go USC just for the fact that Illinois cannot feel good after that game last week.
00:16:07
Speaker
I'll go Illinois. think they bounce back at home. I think that early kickoff is enough, man. I think USC gets off to a slow start, and and I think Illinois gets back on the winning and track, man. i'll go I'll go Illinois. All right. All right, we got LSU and Ole Miss. This is going to be a heavyweight fight, man. Undefeated teams down in Oxford. Like, dude, that the the tailgate alone is going to be how lit is this freaking tailgate going to be for this, man? did It's two of the all-time party schools right here. I did not fact check it, but I saw it on Twitter today. i Again, I don't know if this is real or not, but apparently somebody leaked that an LSU player apparently slept with Lane Kiffin's daughter last weekend. So
00:16:45
Speaker
I don't know if that's true or not, but apparently an LSU captain and linebacker slept with Lane Kiffin's daughter the week of the eight week. Wow.
00:16:58
Speaker
It's not good, but ah yeah. I'm going to go LSU. This is just a typical... No, it's not... All right, so Jordan made it sound a little bit more scandalous than it is, dude. So it's not that you know it was a hookah like one-night stand, dude.
00:17:11
Speaker
They basically went public. his I just Googled it, dude. His daughter is dating a linebacker for LSU. So that makes it a little bit less less less spicy, man. I i like the story Jordan was telling at first, dude, that you know somebody just came and tagged it and bagged it right before...
00:17:26
Speaker
hit getting the game plan for the week but now it looks like she's in a not great that they would leak that the week of the game like yeah you could you think you could have a better time but yeah i guess uh it sounds like coach is on the up and up with it man already said that he's uh he's game planning to go directly at the whit weeks is the linebacker for lsu and lake it sounds like lane kiffin's having some fun with it so he's going right after i like lane kiffin dude i know a lot of people give him shit dude and I definitely still got a little bit of a grudge for how he left Tennessee back after that

Coaching Legacies & Game Predictions

00:17:57
Speaker
2009 season. But I like the characters in college football, man. And and and Lane Kiffin is definitely one of the best ones we got.
00:18:03
Speaker
Agreed. um I think this is a game where Ole Miss just lays an egg, dude. This is the typical Lane Kiffin laying egg game. Yeah. I just think LSU is really good, too.
00:18:14
Speaker
Yeah, same. As much I hate to admit it, because for all things I like about Lane Kiffin, I can't stand freaking Brian Kelly. But, yeah, I feel like they got stuff down there, and LSU is going be a factor all the way this season. Yep, I agree.
00:18:26
Speaker
Dude, speaking of characters, man, I don't think yeah, you didn't have it in here in the format, man, but we'll get do give a quick ah a little off-ramp, dude.
00:18:37
Speaker
Salute to Mike Gundy, man, out at Oklahoma State. Speaking of characters in college football, dude, the dude's always been a free you know, he's almost like the successor to to Mike Leach, man, as far as just being a weirdo head coach goes.
00:18:50
Speaker
He gave us that all-time press conference. You know, I'm a man. I'm four. Come at me. ah yeah He's had the mullet. He's been rocking the last five or six years. Just always a character, man. He put Oklahoma State on the map. is Obviously, they never never had any crazy success on field, but they were always consistently a factor. you know Like I said, they were somebody that you know you knew you had to freaking bring it.
00:19:09
Speaker
If going play them and, uh, you know I don't know. He, he, he's pretty long of a tooth, man. So I could see him going and, you know, doing the podcast game, like how John Gruden's doing. I don't know if he's going to get back into coaching or not, man, but and he definitely had a hell of a run there at Oklahoma state. Dude. He had 18 consecutive winning seasons at Oklahoma state. Like that's pretty unheard of.
00:19:29
Speaker
Um, His best finish of his career, they got there were third in the AP poll the end of the season in 2011 after they won the Fiesta Bowl going 12-1. So, yeah, salute to Gundy.
00:19:42
Speaker
they I mean, they all call him the cowboy. Like, dude, he just... I mean, he did it his way, man. That's all you can say about him. And they won a lot of games under him. I don't know, man. It just always seemed different. Like, some one of my buddies brought this up.
00:19:56
Speaker
T. Boone Pickens died in 2019, and basically the last class they brought in with him was 2023. The money stopped rolling in, yeah. Because, dude, before NIL, T. Boone Pickens could just pay whoever he wanted because yeah he had more money than any other booster out there. So, yeah, yeah just As bad as that sounds, I feel like the money probably stopped rolling it at some point and they just kind of slowed down with it.
00:20:20
Speaker
Yeah, like I said, man, that in college, in so many ways, like the coaches really define the teams more than like, you know, and the NFL, it's players league, dude. But i feel like in college, it's really the coaches. They're the constants, right?
00:20:31
Speaker
They're the ones you associate. And, you know, guys like Dabo, dude, guys like freaking Lane Kiffin. like Mike Gundy, they're who really become the the face of these franchises, man, or face of these teams. and yeah I hate the fact that we're probably getting some boring up-and-coming defense coordinator taking his place as opposed to just what ah you know such a character Mike Gundy was. Yeah, agreed.
00:20:53
Speaker
Okay, back to picks. Oregon versus Penn State. I think Oregon wins, man. Penn State's obviously great, um but we know you know they've they've traditionally struggled man against ah the what is it is it top ten teams or top five teams that they've like just been horrendous against over the last couple years. i think Franklin has the bad record against top five teams, but don't don't quote me on that. It could be top ten. Yeah. Yeah. I got some friends, our neighbors down the street, they're Penn state alumni. Yeah. So since tooth, here, I got the stat right here, dude.
00:21:23
Speaker
So they're one in 15 under James Franklin, but going back before that, into the paternal year, since the year 2000, Penn state is one in 23 against top five teams, man. Um,
00:21:33
Speaker
Obviously, they got a great program, right? than Anybody in the country would, just about anybody. There's a a small handful of teams that wouldn't trade places with Penn State and the college football hierarchy. But to me, they're kind of like stuck in that same spot that Notre Dame is, that they're always one of the top teams, but they're never ever the top team. it's more the same this year seen think it's more the same this year if what I've seen so far, dude. I'm not all in on Drew Allard, dude. Like, he's been getting a lot of hype for, ah you know, for the draft this upcoming season, thinking he's going be a top prospect, dude. I think he's a decent player, but I don't know, man. I think Oregon's going high-flying, come in there and beat them. And Penn State had had good showings against Oregon last year, so I wouldn't be, you know, jaw on the floor stunned if they win. They're actually three-and-a-half-point favorite in this one, but I just don't see it, man. I think Oregon goes in there and gets the dub.
00:22:19
Speaker
Night game and happy Valley is a different animal though. That's the only thing I'll say. Like that's, that's the only thing that's got me pondering this pick because I'm with you. I think Oregon has the better team. I do not love what I've seen out of drew our dude at home cross country flight night game. I'm going go Penn state. I just, I think this is going to be a tight one either way. So I'm just going to pick the home team and just have the the home crowd with them. So.
00:22:46
Speaker
I feel you, and and that's not a horrible pick. you know nobody's goingnna you know I'm not to be rubbing your face if you're wrong on this one. doing I'm keeping the research going back. so you know we had it you know James Franklin is 1-15 against top five teams.
00:22:59
Speaker
Going back to the year 2000, Penn State is 1-23 against top five teams. Since joining Big Ten 1993, they're 1-26 against top five teams. That means exactly once in the last 33 years.
00:23:11
Speaker
exactly once in the last thirty three years Penn State's beat a top five team. You what's the good news for them? Oregon's ranked sixth.
00:23:21
Speaker
You think it's going to make all the difference, dude? Throw all them stats out. Oh, my God. What if they actually beat Oregon like 50 to nothing, dude? It really is just like a top five thing, dude. It's a true curse, man. They got the six next to their name up on the scoreboard, and James Franklin's like rubbing his hands on the field. Got them right where we want them.
00:23:40
Speaker
Yeah. All

NFL Uniforms & Team Performances

00:23:41
Speaker
right. You may be onto something, dude. That may be it, man. at ata He said it ain't top six. All right. ah Alabama and Georgia. I think Georgia gets the win, man. I could see this one being being sticky, man, just because it's Alabama and there's still a lot of talent ah coming through those doors, dude. But I think Georgia gets the win pretty handily. I don't i don't think they're going to have as hard a time with Alabama as they did with Tennessee.
00:24:03
Speaker
Dude. After week one, like I was just completely out on Alabama. I thought they were complete dog shit. Nick Saban ain't walking through those doors. That's the only issue for me. And Kirby Smart is a way better coach than Kalen DeBoer.
00:24:19
Speaker
I'm going to go Georgia as well. I'm not going to lie, though. I do not love Georgia this year as much as I have in years past. Like, watching them in that Tennessee game, there was never a point where I was, like, blown away by what Georgia was doing.
00:24:31
Speaker
I just kind of felt like Tennessee let their foot off the gas more than Georgia took over that game. Yeah, they they don't have an overwhelming amount of talent. It felt like for, but you know, over the last like three or so years, dude, it felt like they were damn near NFL team.
00:24:43
Speaker
They're obviously still loaded, but it doesn't feel quite like that anymore in 2025. Yeah, I think it's gonna be a great game though. All right, let's hit the Fashion Policeman and then we will get into the NFL talk.
00:24:57
Speaker
We'll be right back.
00:25:07
Speaker
All we'll start off. We say it every year. These really just need to be the permanent jerseys, the the Pat Patriot Patriots throwbacks. Absolutely beautiful. Only problem is they hardly ever win in these jerseys. Like, I feel like every time they bust them out, it's an instant loss.
00:25:20
Speaker
Yeah, they they they aren't very successful. And the the team suck. That's a big reason why they've said theyre like they they don't want to like go back to something. work into that. They want to stick with the glory years, the Brady years, which makes a lot of sense. But but yeah, those jerseys are definitely ass.
00:25:35
Speaker
um What do you think of the Browns busting out the all-brown unis with the brown helmets?
00:25:42
Speaker
I don't know, man. They're fine. I just, I prefer the Browns and the orange helmet. Like, dude, it's just such a classic look. Yeah, the Browns do got some clean uniforms, the regular ones. I like the idea of it, right? We're the Browns. Let's just go straight up brown out. But I didn't love the look.
00:25:57
Speaker
Something did love the look of, dude, the Bucks. You know, we've seen them bust out the creamsicle jerseys a couple times over the last 10, 15 years. This was the first time they've done the away jerseys, man. The all white down there in Tampa.
00:26:08
Speaker
Dude, just a beautiful uniform, man. I thought they were going full bucks though, from the seventies at the end of that game, when they gave up that, uh, that blocked field goal and the jets took the lead. I'm like, Oh God, they went full bucks. Like they just decided to go right back to the suck sickles. Yeah, dude. It's so funny, man. i don't know if it's just something the way Nike's making minor tweaks to the cuts and the stripes and stuff, or just aging taste and nostalgia.
00:26:37
Speaker
I remember as a kid, I hated those uniforms too. And the bucks were horrible back then when they wore those uniforms. so That's part part of it too. But I remember hating those uniforms as a kid. Like even when I was little and like barely had any like sports sense at all, I'd see them and just think those look like absolute garbage.
00:26:52
Speaker
But now they're freaking gorgeous, man. I love that uniform. It does look really clean, updated, because like I'm with you. If you look at those, the the old unis where the sleeves are really long and shit, they look god awful. But yeah, i think it's just something about the cuts and the stripe. I think it's just, you know, a bunch of little minor tweaks that add up to make it look like a really, really great product. It's definitely clean.
00:27:16
Speaker
All right, Jordan, the Falcons went out. You know, the knee jerk reaction on Sunday afternoon, he said he thought it was a bottom five game in all the time that he's been a fan of the team. And Jordan, you know, I give him crap about it, dude. But one thing I will say dude to somebody asked me one word to describe my best friend, I think I would say loyal, man.
00:27:35
Speaker
This guy is just loyal to a fault. He is a right. He's the definition of a ride or die. And unfortunately, as in a Falcons fan, he's been seeing a lot more die than riding, especially over the last seven years or so. Easy there, bucko.
00:27:49
Speaker
But he said ah he said it was a bottom five loss. That was a knee-jerk reaction. As you've had a couple days, because this is Tuesday night, you know, I was slammed last night, so we had to postpone recording a little bit. Okay.
00:28:01
Speaker
as you've added As you've had a couple days to marinate and chew on a little bit, man, has it has it softened a little bit or has this one has this one kind of festered and gotten worse? Okay, I'm going read some stuff off for you real quick, okay?
00:28:14
Speaker
And I'm going to stick with this bottom five loss ever. Okay, so let's just go through a little bit the stats from this game, okay? So Falcons had 17 first downs. Panthers had 15.
00:28:26
Speaker
Whatever, that's pretty normal. Falcons were 5 of 13 on third down. Panthers 3 of 11. Falcons had 332 total Panthers 224. Falcons had 201 yards Panthers had
00:28:38
Speaker
falcons at two hundred and one yards passing though panthers had a hundred and fourteen Panthers at 110 yards rushing. Falcons at 131. 66 plays to 55 plays.
00:28:51
Speaker
Now, I ask you, when i if I'm reading you those stats, what are you probably thinking? Falcons won by 10 points. Falcons won a low-scoring game, 21-10. Yeah, or even like they won 17-14. Yeah, um they um it's not spectacular, but it definitely sounds like they controlled the game and they handled biz, man.
00:29:11
Speaker
bro, I Bryce Young has seven wins in his career and three of them are against the Falcons. He owns the Falcons, dude. I just, he owns the Falcons. Dude, he didn't do anything. he he had 121 fucking yards. he showed up He showed Everybody was ripping on the Falcons defense. I'm like, i don't even think the Falcons defense played that bad.
00:29:31
Speaker
They gave up. Dude, I had them in fantasy. They gave up 30 points, but they still scored nine points. I got nine. I couldn't believe it, man, because I saw the score. i was like, oh, my God, because I picked up the, fact you know, there's still that little oh yeah that little flickering beat of a Falcons fan heart in my chest. I picked up the Falcons kicker and the Falcons defense in fantasy football, and I saw the score. i'm like, oh well, that was a fucking waste. Then I looked like, that i ah defense got me nine points. That's decent, man. you could You could win with nine points on defense. So they gave, they threw a pick six, which was one of the worst throws I've ever seen in my life.
00:30:00
Speaker
Yeah. It was right there with Cam Ward's pick six. And then they played the game. So like, and then they gave up two short fields. the The first drive the Panthers had was a legitimate drive. It was like a 65 year drive. It was, ah it was a legit drive.
00:30:12
Speaker
After that, every one of the Panthers drives where they scored started on the Falcon side of the field. Like, dude, it was just an absolute disaster. I'm going read you one more stat that I saw tonight.
00:30:23
Speaker
the Atlanta Falcons have outgained their opponents by 334 yards through three games. That's the third most in the NFL in their one and two Colts are number one at 439 yards. Bills are number two at 398. The Rams are fourth at 286. The Falcons are the only team in the top five of this stat to be one and two. the only other team with the losses, the Rams, and they lost to the Eagles. Like,
00:30:49
Speaker
And then Raheem Morris comes on and says, it was just the energy. No, the fucking energy is you're a shitty-ass head coach. Like, I hated this hire from day one, and everybody convinced me that it was somehow going to be all right because he was a player's coach.
00:31:04
Speaker
He's a fucking terrible coach, dude. There's just there's yeah there's no covering it. and I just want to know what's going on with the game plan, dude. Because, you know, I see B. John Robinson get the ball. I see him catch ball in the backfield. I see him running. And to me, dude, he looks like he might be a top five offensive player in the NFL, man. He he is. If he's not as good as Saquon Barkley, he's a cunt hair behind Saquon Barkley is the most talented running back in the NFL.
00:31:29
Speaker
But you're going out there, we're throwing the ball 36 times with Michael Penix, man. i feel like I feel like it's forgotten just because he had the offseason that Penix only started two games last year. This was his sixth start in the NFL.
00:31:40
Speaker
And it feels like the Falcons go out there and treat him like he's a seven-year veteran. you know I feel like they're putting not that he's not without blame, but I feel like they're putting so much on his plate um as a player. And I don't feel like From what I watch, it doesn't seem like they're setting him up for easy wins, man. It seems like he's he's having the complacency he's getting, it seems like it's a lot high-degree difficulty throws and stuff. And, I mean, it shows he's 18 for 36, man. You don't see a lot of a lot of QBs around the 50% completion rate in the NFL. like Over the last 10 years, man, guys are completing 60% of their passes easy.
00:32:13
Speaker
um I just feel like they're they're they're not making things easy for their young quarterback. And they've got enough weapons that it should be. It shouldn't be this hard, man. You shouldn't be You shouldn't be getting shut out by the freaking Panthers.
00:32:24
Speaker
Dude, Zach Robinson yeah is going to eat a lot of the blame for me. Just to to follow up what you said, Bijan is 100% a top five offensive player. Saquon said he thinks Bijan's the best running back in the NFL. he' if se one know He's a younger Saquon. That's who he's closest to, man. He's like the younger Saquon right now. If Saquon is saying that, he's not just saying it to say it. Like, Saquon, when he speaks, he means what he says.
00:32:49
Speaker
So we know that already. Zach Robinson, I don't know what the fuck it is, but every single time the Falcons are breaking the huddle with 12 seconds left and they're running to the fucking line of scrimmage, and every single play, there is motion in this offense.
00:33:07
Speaker
So, dude, when you're motioning someone... you're talking at least four or five seconds to get the motion guy all the way where he needs to go. Because a lot of times he's going from one end of the field to the other end of the field, right?
00:33:19
Speaker
You're doing all that in under 12 seconds. They're snapping the ball with one second on the clock all the fucking time. And I will never understand how you think you're going to have a successful offense like that.

Falcons' Management & Future Potential

00:33:30
Speaker
He's going to go back and react.
00:33:34
Speaker
yeah he's running go back in react He's running to the line and trying to get everybody set. He's not even looking down the field because you can tell a lot of times when the other team is blitzing, he doesn't even fucking see it because he didn't have time to look up to see it. yeah Like he's so worried about getting the motion right so they can get their formation.
00:33:50
Speaker
Stop running so much fucking motion. We don't need to run motion every play. And then I see everybody this week's like, they they need to fire Zach Robinson. And I was in that camp.
00:34:01
Speaker
And then Raheem Morris goes out on Monday and says, oh, we're bringing Zach Robinson down from the press box down to the field. Here we go. Here's the order of shit and how this all works. Okay, he's going to come down to field. Offense is still going look like shit. Oh, good thing he's only 30 yards away as opposed to 200 yards away so he can watch his offense look like shit.
00:34:20
Speaker
I will say, though, Penix does not go without blame. That pick six that he threw was, I mean, obviously was one of the worst check down throws I've ever seen in my life. They showed, like, i watched some of the All-22.
00:34:33
Speaker
Drake London and Mooney are both standing wide open in the middle of the field with their hands showing to him. Doesn't even see him because he can't even go through his progressions because everything is so rushed from the time they break the huddle to the time they snap the ball that I just don't think he can go through his progressions. i don't...
00:34:49
Speaker
i mean, again, this is sixth NFL game. He doesn't have enough reps to just understand how how much faster an NFL defense is than a college defense, I think, is the biggest problem. There was another play I saw Penix is just running like a um ah post route right down the middle of the field. He's wide open, the safety cut under, and Penix throws like an out route, and it doesn't even get completed. It's like he's obviously not seeing the field all the way.
00:35:15
Speaker
that's a huge problem, but they, you cannot, mean, he, for all intents and purposes, he's a rookie quarterback, right? You can't be breaking the huddle at 12 seconds and expect your rookie quarterback to have a complete grasp of everything that's going on. Like they literally called a timeout. Cause they almost got to delay a game, right?
00:35:34
Speaker
They come out of the timeout. A play is obviously called. They still didn't break the huddle until there was 12 seconds left in the clock. And then they got a delay game after the timeout. Like, I'm sorry. At some point, this has to be blamed on someone. Like, we just can't keep going, oh, it's just a rookie quarterback. These aren't rookie quarterback mistakes. These are, like, coaching errors at some point. Yeah.
00:35:54
Speaker
They're not setting him up for success at all, man. um What do you think, dude? Do you think there's any heat on Raheem Morris right now, or is that seat still ah cool and cozy? The problem is, dude, Arthur Blank does not like to fire people. Like, I know you love the guy and I don't hate him at all.
00:36:10
Speaker
I'm still of the belief that they should have fired Dan Quinn after that Superbowl and hired Kyle, Kyle Shanahan as the head coach. In hindsight, you did the Falcons probably get a ring that next year, dude. Cause like, yeah, the the window was still wide open. And I feel like, uh, you know, the team was still, they were still one of the best music. like They almost, they, they should have beat the Eagles in the playoffs and the infilly and the Eagles were on to win the Superbowl that year. It just, uh,
00:36:35
Speaker
Yeah, man. like Don't they'll get me started on the debacle of the 2016-2017. Arthur third Blank is just he's so tentative to fire a coach. and like I said this. i mean I know you can remember me saying this last offseason.
00:36:47
Speaker
there Everybody was talking to Bill Belichick, which I don't think that would have been a ah solution for the Falcons. It would have been something. it would ah On the surface, it would have looked you're trying harder, but I'm with you, man. like Kind of looking back and seeing what it's looked like in North Carolina so far, ah you know I hate to say it because I got so much love for Bill. Belichick, but I feel like the sun's just kind of fucking set on his coaching career, man. He's he's just... Look how many young coaches there are in the NFL on successful teams.
00:37:15
Speaker
Seattle, to me, probably has one of the best young coaches out there with McDonald. That was the Ravens defensive coordinator. That's who I wanted the Falcons to hire, and that's who I thought they should have hired. When they didn't even give him a second interview, I'm like...
00:37:29
Speaker
when they were interviewing Raheem Morris the second time and it was him and Bill Belichick, i I don't know if you can remember this, but I literally said, it's the Falcons. They will hire Raheem Morris. And sure as shit, two days later, they hired him. I just, I know what this team does. Like,
00:37:43
Speaker
Arthur Blank gets comfortable with somebody and that's just who he wants. And he, I, I truly don't feel like the Falcons will ever get out of the funk that they're in until Arthur Blank sells the team. Like he, he just needs to sell the team and he never will. Cause he loves it so much, but he's too close to it, man.
00:37:59
Speaker
Him and Jerry Jones are like the closest owner to their football team. And I feel like it handicaps both of those teams so much.
00:38:09
Speaker
Yeah, agreed, man. Yeah, I think that I agree with you. I think it would really have to get ugly for them to get rid of Raheem Morris, man, because what's what's the fastest the Falcons have ever fired a coach on Arthur Blank? I know they got rid of Jim Moore Jr. That was three years, but that was after he kind of made an ass of himself and went on a radio station and said that he would quit the Falcons if, what was it, the Washington Huskies offered a job, right? Wasn't that what he said? Yeah.
00:38:35
Speaker
And then Mike Smith, you know obviously Petrino happened. That was yeah that wasn't a fire and fire. Okay, here, I'm going to go back and look. so Mike Smith was there for seven years. I want to say Dan Quinn was there for seven years too.
00:38:50
Speaker
it was six? yep so Yep. And then Arthur Smith only got three years, right? Yep, so Jim Moore got three years. Wade Phillips was the interim after Dan Reeves got fired after seven years. June Jones got three years.
00:39:03
Speaker
Jerry Glanville got four. Yeah, he's just not an owner that's going to fire a coach. I think Arthur Blank, he purchased him after date right ah right before hiring Jim Moore, right? I think Jim Moore was the first coach he hired. That was his first coach. But um even still, like they're they're just not a franchise that fires coaches. No, he definitely values stability, man The problem is, is what is the stability right now? Like, the other problem is, who the fuck are they going to get?
00:39:30
Speaker
Like, dude, unless unless one of these big-name coaches gets fired, who are you going to get? You hope you hit one of the, you know, nameless faces coordinators that you hire out there. the problem is, I already know what the Falcons are going to do. They're going to have whatever the season turns out to be, let's just say Raheem Morris does get fired.
00:39:47
Speaker
They'll fucking hire Mike McCarthy or somebody like that, dude. Like that's, that's what they'll do rather than do what everybody else is doing right now and hiring a up and coming coordinator. And I'm not saying that works a hundred times out of a hundred, like, but at least there's, there's the possibility, right? You feel like you you feel like if you bring in Mike McCarthy, you know what you're going to get, dude. Like you're, you're probably going to go 10 and six.
00:40:08
Speaker
Maybe you want to play off game or two here or there, but you probably not winning the Super There's no ceiling to it. at all dude like i mean seriously outside of like andy reed and the horror balls and stuff like that like a lot of the coaches now are young dude i mean fuck mcveigh's still like 43 years old like yeah just i don't know man i just i feel like they're in such a bad place and i know like raheem morris is obviously like hiring a lot of his friends like zach robinson's one of his friends he was on the coaching staff with him for the rams and i get why they hired him
00:40:40
Speaker
Dude, Zach Robinson was never calling plays for the Rams. I don't care what anybody tries to tell you. Sean McVay is not letting someone else call his plays. Like... facts That dude is one of the best head coaches. Same thing with Andy Reid. Those guys don't let other people call their plays. Like, does the offensive coordinator have some input? Sure. But when it comes down to it, those two guys are overruling anything either one of them says. Like, you really think that Sean McVay's offensive coordinator is telling him, I think we should run a reverse here instead of ah a pass downfield and Sean McVay's going, kick rocks, dude. I'll consider that maybe later in the season. Like, yeah.
00:41:15
Speaker
It's just it's an embarrassment. i i just I have nothing for it. I will say I think they got the defensive coordinator higher right. Ulbricht seems like he knows what he's doing. It is embarrassing, though, that they only get one sack this week, and Carolina had a starting center and a right guard both down this week, and they just couldn't get any pass rush at all. Yeah.
00:41:34
Speaker
Just nothing was good this week. Coming off that Vikings game, and, like, dude, after watching the Vikings this week, especially, it's like they controlled that game from start to finish against the Vikings, against a defense that's actually really good, it appears. So, i don't know, man. I just don't know how you go from that to that in a week. It's just...
00:41:53
Speaker
It's just hard. Yeah, i don't know I don't know what to make of the Falcons, man. They had a, you know, I'd say slightly above mediocre showing against the Bucs week one. Looked great against the Vikings week two. And then it just was an absolute disaster on Sunday. So time will tell.
00:42:06
Speaker
Okay. on the tweet We don't need to talk anymore about the Falcons. I mean, that's pretty good for me. I didn't actually get too fired up in that whole thing. It just, I just. I think and we had an added 24 hour cool down period. I think helped a lot. Yeah.
00:42:18
Speaker
Okay. Let's ah' go to your team. Titans are very, very bad, dude. Yeah, i don't i again, I don't like Craig Callahan to to so survive the bye week. All the same things that you said about a lot of them you said about Morris could definitely apply to to Brian Callahan, man. I just I don't yeah, I'll be shocked if he makes it past the bye week, man. Like we mentioned pre-show, dude, dude's already given up ah play calling duties. It's getting worse week by week, right? They look pretty decent against the Broncos, and it's just gotten worse as the weeks have gone by. I don't see it getting better. It sucks for Cam Ward, man. It really, really does.
00:42:56
Speaker
ah But, you know, if if he's gonna if he's really going to reach the heights, we expect the number one pick to reach in the draft. It's not going to be under Callahan. Dude, that team the the Falcons are under no pressure at all at this point. Like they there's, there's no pressure on this team to win. They the Titans are under a lot of pressure, dude. They're opening a new stadium next year or two years, whatever it is. Yeah. Like they cannot have this same team rolling out there in two seasons. Like,
00:43:22
Speaker
You will not sell any PSLs if this team is this fucking bad. Or worse, what I think is going to be worse than that, what I think happens, I think you'll sell the PSLs, man, but it's going to be the bad vibes. I think that that's going to be the road game everybody else goes to, right? I think all the other fans, when they're kind of looking at the schedules, picking a road game to go to that season, I think they're going go hit up Nashville because obviously that's an awesome party town and see the new stadium, dude. I think that first I don't think the Titans are going to have a freaking home game, dude. know what mean? Maybe the home opener, man. I think after that, that stadium going to be taken over week in and week out because Nashville has become such a destination.

NFL Surprises & Player Predictions

00:44:00
Speaker
And teams know they can roll, party all weekend, and then roll in and catch an easy dub on Sundays. Vegas and Nashville have a lot of similarities for their football teams. Yeah. I mean, there's are that's why they put that team in Vegas because they knew it would draw attention and guests and stuff like that.
00:44:14
Speaker
And Vegas needed that. Same thing when they put that baseball team in. If you don't think that stadium is going to be 75% of the other team's fans, you're ah you're crazy. Like, that's why they're building it.
00:44:25
Speaker
um Anyway, though, let's let's talk about the team the Titans played because we have not given this team any flowers at all. Colts are for real, man. This is a good football team. Yeah. with The analytics podcast lesson two today, man, they said that the Colts, the offense so far this season on the efficiency, they're second only to the 2007 Patriots through three games. i mean, what they punt, they've punted one time in three games now. Yeah.
00:44:50
Speaker
Yeah. And they've had, I think no turnovers. They may have like one fumble, but it's something about the turnovers and the number of punts and the the average yards per possession. They're on pace with the 2007 Patriots who that team in a lot of ways, like kind of changed football, man, going forward the way people attack. So yeah, no i don't think anybody saw this coming for Daniel Jones. I mean, hell dude, I feel like it was kind of like up in the air. If it was going to be him or Anthony Richardson, even starting up until a couple weeks before the season, man, at least publicly.
00:45:17
Speaker
Um, I still don't know if I believe it, but credit where credit's due, man. We're almost a quarter of the way through the season and they're getting it done. And they definitely like the class of the AFC South. So, yeah, you know, shout out to our buddy Hawk.
00:45:30
Speaker
Thank God, dude. I was penciled in to go to this Titans game, but luckily we had a Memphis wrestling show that popped up. And I chose to do that with a family instead of going with our buddy Hawk to go to the game. Man, that would have a long drive back down south to Memphis from ah that ass whooping that the Titans caught on Sunday.
00:45:47
Speaker
are you still Are you still thinking about going to that Chiefs game? I mean, we'll see. You know, if the Chiefs keep losing, that could be a cheap ticket, man. I mean, I want to see Mahomes play, dude. I kind of I want to be able to say that I saw Mahomes play while he's still kind of in his prime.
00:46:00
Speaker
So, I'm tempted, but I think it's going to be a game-time decision just depending on what tickets are looking like and the weather situation. That stadium is going to be packed whether the Chiefs are bad or not, dude. Chiefs fans travel like that.
00:46:11
Speaker
Oh, yeah. Those tickets ain't going to be cheap. And it's the week before Christmas, too. So I know there's probably going to be lot. You know, pretty much all the kids, like Brett's age and younger, do you think about it, man? You know, kids are always freaking bandwagon fans, dude. So, know, there's a ton of Chiefs fans. You know, seven, eight, nine-year-olds.
00:46:27
Speaker
They love the Chiefs just naturally because that's what you're supposed to do when you're a kid. ah So, yeah, I'm sure that's going to be an early Christmas present for a lot of kids around here. I'm not going to lie. i have to admit this right now. I'm in four fantasy leagues, and there was only one team that I said I would not draft a single player off, and it was the Colts.
00:46:44
Speaker
Boy, that was a fucking mistake. that was That was a very dude, Jonathan Taylor would have been a perfect first-round pick for anybody at this point. Yeah, man. Freaking Indiana Jones getting it done. and you both passed on him twice, too.
00:46:58
Speaker
I know. I know. i do I thought this team was going to be dreadful, dude. I mean, we were talking that they were potentially worst team in the league, man, um but before the season, dude. I think we had them as like they're like the next tier up from like the Jets and Saints.
00:47:10
Speaker
And, yeah, we're eating it, dude. yeah good good Go Colts, man, for the shoot. Good them, man. uh let's talk about another nfl was upside down this weekend dude yeah browns beat the packers and what i can only describe to you as one of the like biggest like slug fests i've ever seen in my life like they're just there was no offense in this game jordan love reverted back to his shitty self again at the end of that game like Dude, I'm still not sold on Jordan Love. like i We are too far into it for him to be having games like this still. like I just i don't get it. He's inconsistent. There's definitely an inconsistent streak there.
00:47:50
Speaker
Dude, shout out to Joe Flacco, man. Freaking 40 years old, still out there getting it done. Your Shadur getting playing time this season is looking less and less like him. looking which may not be the worst thing. kind of want Shadur to just get...
00:48:03
Speaker
you know Cut bait, let him let him wash up somewhere else, man, and try to make a curse somewhere else. It's never going to happen in Cleveland, no matter what. Dude, we need to talk about this, though. The Browns, so we're through three weeks.
00:48:14
Speaker
they have I think statistically they might have the best defense in the NFL. out I mean, outside of one half against the Ravens, their defense has looked just straight nails. Dude, they should have beat the Bengals week one. the The Browns should really be 2-1 right now.
00:48:31
Speaker
I'm just like dumbfounded how this team is even finding ways to win games, but their defense is just going to keep them in every game because Miles Garrett is still the biggest freak in the NFL.
00:48:43
Speaker
As far as yardage goes, they are number one right now. They're 70 yards ahead number two. You know who the number two defense in the league is right now based on yards? Falcons. The Atlanta Falcons, dude.
00:48:55
Speaker
Based off Cleveland has a lot of some points, man. They're, uh, well, yeah, that game against the Ravens. So yeah. Green Bay is actually number one. As far as points go, man, green Bay's alone, 14 points per game.
00:49:07
Speaker
Their defense, green Bay's defense obviously looked fine. Their offense just gives me so much worries moving forward. And that was the one reason I was skeptical to pick them as a Super Bowl team, just because, dude, I don't think I can trust Jordan Love when it comes down to it at the end of the season. He's got he's got a little bit of Kirk Cousins in him, dude. He's got the streaky thing, right? Like, he'll get on a heater and just really light it up, but then it's like he can just disappear on you for a quarter at a time. Bro, that pick he threw, if you would have told me he had a blindfold on, i would have believed you.
00:49:37
Speaker
I'm dead serious. That was honestly one of the worst throws I've ever seen someone make. That dude was just sitting there waiting for that ball. Yeah, it was bad. Yeah, so not good for the Packers. um The Bucs.
00:49:49
Speaker
This is like one of the most baffling teams ever. The Bucs are just, they ride the absolute lightning till the last two minutes of every game. Like you can't say Baker's not clutch. Cleveland clearly fucked up getting rid of Baker. I think we can put that to bed at this point. He's a solid, he's a legit top 10 NFL quarterback, man. yeah easy He's not top five, but he's definitely top 10.
00:50:13
Speaker
This team, I still think there's so a little bit of worries for this team. like together Oh, they're flawed. I think there's a lot of worries, dude. I don't i don't have them as a contender to make it out the NFC, but they're they're entertaining as hell.
00:50:25
Speaker
I think they're definitely going to be in the playoffs, man. But, yeah, I think this is a deeply flawed team. I don't I'll be shocked if they make it to the NFC Championship. right, call it right now. Does Mike Evans get to 1,000 yards because he's hurt now?
00:50:41
Speaker
I'm saying yes, bro. i'm ah you know I'm forever an optimist, man. He'll find a way, dude. He'll make up for it. I think the team's going be motivated to keep it going. Obviously, I think this has become like a team goal for them. We saw the big celebration last year when they did it.
00:50:51
Speaker
It's going to be an uphill battle, man. It's going uphill battle. But the fact that it's Mike Evans, he's been so good for so long, and I have him my fantasy football team, I'm going to be a wishful thinker and say that, yeah, he still finds a way to get it done. Okay, so he's got 140 yards through three games, and it sounds like He's got go off. He's got have some big games to make up for this missed time. Sounds like he's out a minimum of three games is what I read today.
00:51:12
Speaker
Does that sound right to you? or did they Yeah. yeah so So that's going to mean he's going to need to basically average 100 yards a game when he comes back, which if you mix in a couple big ones, man, he can get a couple 175, 180-yard games, he can maybe do it. It's going to be a tall task, though, for sure. It's definitely going down to the game 17 this year.
00:51:32
Speaker
The only thing that makes me skeptical, I don't think he gets it this year, and this is why. Godwin comes back in two weeks. Jalen McMillan comes back in two weeks. And Egbuka is just going to continue to get way more reps, dude. A lot more mouse to feed down there, man. He's so good.
00:51:48
Speaker
I just don't think Mike Evans gets it this year. like It's a hamstring injury, too. So for a wide receiver, gonna nag especially an older wide receiver, like that's not a good injury at all for him to have.
00:52:00
Speaker
um All right, let's talk about the Bengals. What the hell happened from that second half against the Jaguars to the beginning of that game against the Vikings where Jake Browning just looked like an absolute turd?
00:52:17
Speaker
And we saw him look good when he's played the past. I mean, yeah we were glazing him last week, dude, saying that they could keep their head above water, man. um don't know if it was just a game plan thing or what, man, but it was, that was absolute abysmal show. i mean, Carson Wentz dropping 40 on you, dude. That is not good.
00:52:31
Speaker
Dude. They had one guy on the Vikings defense that had two touchdowns. Yeah. He, yeah he had one. Isaiah Rogers, man. Yeah. Maybe two picks, a forced fumble and two touchdowns. Like,
00:52:45
Speaker
I'm just going off what I saw in person, and Brian Flores was still the defensive coordinator when the Falcons played them two weeks ago or a week ago. They did not look even remotely like the same defense a week ago as they did this week. like i've Jamar Chase didn't do much. Tee Higgins didn't do much. like They can't run the ball.
00:53:06
Speaker
The Bengals are in deep, deep shit. they and they give They got the Broncos this week. They got to go to Denver. like I think the Bengals are in deep, deep trouble at this point. Speaking of team in deep, deep trouble, Texans are now o and three Dude, ever since CJ Stroud did the whole thing to Caleb Williams last year where he told him, hey, man, keep your head up. Ever since he big brothered him. He has been absolute ass. I saw his stats after that game.
00:53:33
Speaker
Dude, he's been awful since that game. Him and Trevor Lawrence are two two different sides of the same coin, man. You feel like these guys should be like franchise players, two of the best in the league, and it's just not showing up, man.
00:53:45
Speaker
What's going on with him, though? Like, i don't I mean, how much Texans have you watched this year? Because I watched a bunch, man. I watched a bunch. Yeah. And he just did. You know, that first year we thought it was something special. I mean, they kind of got by on on a lot of lucky breaks that first year. Last year they ran out of steam down the last month, man. Yeah.
00:54:04
Speaker
Obviously still won the play. You know, they they've won a playoff game each of the last two years. So, yeah you know, i don't want to bag on a few hard. Right. This is still a team that's won a playoff game two consecutive years. um So, you know, it's a ton of NFL teams that would trade that like no doubt about it. But yeah, there's been no progression from CJ Stroud after that magical rookie year that he had.
00:54:21
Speaker
I think that's the scariest part from them is that CJ Stratt has made no progression at all. like that i He's gotten worse as teams have gotten tape on him and stuff. He's gotten an actively worse, similar to Trevor Lawrence, man. Not good. ah Eagles and Rams in an absolute thriller of a football game.
00:54:36
Speaker
Dude, the Eagles were down, I want to say, um it was close to 20 points, 16, something like that, 17. it looked like they were just dead in the water and that this team just was never going to find it.
00:54:48
Speaker
I don't know what the hell they told Jalen Hurts, but whatever happened after they went down like that, Jalen Hurts just turned it into another gear and just lit it up. And I just wanted to make this clear. Jalen Hurts is 17-0 in his last 17 starts, so we can all just like maybe stop a little bit with hating on Jalen Hurts.
00:55:08
Speaker
Dude is still an incredible quarterback. I feel like it's mostly Philly fans that hate on him, dude. I feel like the hate is coming from inside the house. You know what Like, it seemed like there was a lot of Philly fan base that were against him. But, yeah, I'm with it, man. He's he's legit. Obviously, he's already got the Super Bowl win. Dude's a made man as far as I'm concerned. Yeah, and I don't think the Rams have anything to hold their head down about. I mean, this was a tough game at yeah at Philadelphia. Like, the the Rams are still going be there at the end.
00:55:33
Speaker
Yeah. Chargers and Niners, both Two teams that are doing it completely differently. Chargers. Dude, Justin Herbert, we said we didn't think he could do what he did last year. He's doing it again. Like, he's he's doing it and more a season later. like He's going put his name in the mix with Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen for MVP, man, if he keeps it up, man. The Chargers keep winning in how we expect them to. like Both teams got the same record. The Chargers have been way more impressive. Now, we'll throw the caveat for the Niners. They've been doing it with Mac Jones out there dealing. Mac Jones has been playing some pretty good football.
00:56:07
Speaker
but ah But, yeah, the Chargers, that yeah, man they're they're right there as a team that could come out of the AFC. They might mess around, man, and they're they're probably looking at the two-seed at worst, dude. I think the Ravens are going to be similar. I think we're going see the Ravens stumble some ah this year, even though they may so they're still probably the best team at their peak.
00:56:24
Speaker
But, no, I think the Chargers are going right there with the Bills, man, for who comes out of the AFC this year. i don't I seriously don't think the Bills lose a game. like Just based on their schedule, there there's a good chance that team lose a game. They shouldn't. There's not going to be any game, but I think we pick against the Bills.
00:56:37
Speaker
I agree. ah We'll talk about the Nyers a little bit here. Dude, who is on their training staff? but This team has players dropping like flies every week. now both um It's been like that for years, man. like Now Bosa's out for the season.
00:56:53
Speaker
Mac Jones got banged up in that game. You know McCaffrey's eventually going to get hurt. I'm not jinxing anything here. He's going to get hurt eventually. Juwan Jennings was out. Kittle was out. They had a couple other defensive players out. like They're just winning with a banged up team, which is good for them, but...
00:57:09
Speaker
Man, I just mean, that's how they stumbled on Brock Purdy. Brock Purdy was the third string quarterback, dude. And they stumbled on him after Lance, Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo got hurt, man. So, yeah, we're going back years now that that the Niners training staff has just gotten players. and yeah Obviously, it could all be coincidence, man.
00:57:27
Speaker
But gee you definitely got to examine what's going on there, man, because people have been getting hurt left and right on that team for years. Key players, man. Ricky Pearsall definitely looks like a guy, man. He just when they get Iyuk back and Jennings gets healthy and they get Kittle back. He's a weapon. He's perfect for Kyle Shanahan's offense too, man. Yeah, that team's going to be dangerous.
00:57:45
Speaker
We do have to talk about the Bears because they did win a football game finally. Look good, man. They look good doing it, dude. Dude, are Cowboys defense is really that fucking bad. They're going to have the worst defense in the league this year. And you know what, man?
00:57:58
Speaker
This is on Jerry Jones at this point. du They have zero pass rush. They didn't even touch Caleb Williams in that game. That's the first time that Caleb Williams has not been sacked in an NFL game. Like,
00:58:09
Speaker
Dude, Jerry Jones looks like a complete idiot at this point, and there's no avoiding it. Like, Micah Parsons is a straight-up game-changer, and you traded him, and now this is what you're getting. Trayvon Diggs got to be one of the most overpaid corners I've ever seen in my life. What a one-year wonder, man. i always said, dude, it's always a red flag to me when a corner has interception numbers like that. Safety, I can deal with it, man. That's the safety make of making plays. But if a corner has got high interception numbers, it's probably because they're just throwing at him a ton, and he's getting lot opportunities. Yeah, jumping around. Yeah. Like, think about it, dude. Revis, in his best year, I think the most I think Revis had maybe six interceptions the most, ah you know, any one season. And, like, Deion. When Deion became Deion, he was getting maybe four or five picks a season because teams just weren't trying him. You know what i mean? Like, they just weren't going at at Let's just look at the last two weeks of the Cowboys.
00:58:55
Speaker
They made Russell Wilson look like he had found the fountain of youth last week and had him throw 400 yards passing. This week, Russell Wilson was getting booed off the field by his home crowd at halftime.
00:59:09
Speaker
ah Then Caleb Williams and the Bears looked like absolute dog shit last week, played the Cowboys and looked like an all-pro offense. Like, not looking good for the Cowboys, man. Yeah, they're pitiful, man. Let's talk about the game last night, and then we'll ah get into our picks. Lions and Ravens.
00:59:26
Speaker
Dude, everybody was just preying on the downfall of the Lions. I mean, after week one, that's all I heard is that this team can't do without Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn. These boys are still for real, man. This is a really good football team. Dan Campbell, if Dan Campbell is not a top five head coach in your mind, I don't know what you're doing.
00:59:47
Speaker
Dude believes in his team more than anybody else in the the NFL, probably more than anybody else I've ever seen in my life. Yeah. Week one was, that was just a tough place to open up, man. Opening up at Lambeau week one. That's tough.
00:59:58
Speaker
Uh, but yeah, they bounced back strong and the Ravens. you Yeah. have Similar last year, dude. I feel like when the Ravens are on, they're the best team in the league. I think their peak is higher than anybody else's peak, but dude, just these, you know, Derek Henry film. That's twice now, man. We've seen a Derek Henry, uh, big time fumble in the second half that changes the course of the game.
01:00:13
Speaker
ah They're averaging the most points. they're They're the league leaders in scoring. They're averaging 37 points a game ahead of the Lions, quite silly enough. Lions are averaging 34. So the offense is still super explosive, man. But it's not going to matter if you end up having to go and win two road playoff games in the AFC. That's just going to be tough, man. If you've got to go into L.A. to play the Chargers and then go travel to Buffalo to beat the Bills. That's just you're going have to play.
01:00:35
Speaker
Not say the Ravens can't do it, but you're going to have to play absolutely perfect to get that done. Dude, the thing that scares me most about them is they just go through these lulls where they don't even look like they know what they're doing on offense. like it's just It's concerning with the amount of players that they have.
01:00:51
Speaker
and This might be crazy to say. I feel like they've almost got too many playmakers now, and they just can't spread the ball around enough. That might be wild to say, but, like dude, there's no way Zayflower should go in an entire half of football without even getting a single target. i just...
01:01:06
Speaker
Yeah, i know what you mean. It feels like you got so many mouths to feed and like you feel obligated to do it that you end up going away from some of your strongest players. Now that I totally

Week Four Game Picks & Betting Strategies

01:01:14
Speaker
get to me, man. i mean, that makes sense. But yeah, another good game. They just these are two really fun teams to watch. But yeah, weird week of football, but good week of football.
01:01:24
Speaker
All right, let's get into our week four picks.
01:01:30
Speaker
Yeah.
01:01:41
Speaker
Yeah. All right. How'd we do last week, man? I went 10 and six last week. You went nine and seven. No. so you're up. You know one now what the deciding game was?
01:01:53
Speaker
Huh? Cardinals and 49ers was the deciding game. I took the Niners. You took the Cardinals. You know, i had an NFL or Madden franchise um on Madden 20. So that's the one that came out at the start the 2019 season. And I was on deployment with the military, so I had time to really be extra with this one. And I started off with a full NFL fantasy draft to start it off. And I took rookie Kyler Murray, yeah number one and won like nine Super Bowls in his 13 year career.
01:02:23
Speaker
And I've just, you know, I've just been infatuated with the guy ever since, man. I i really feel like if he would have went to another team besides the Cardinals, that he'd be on a totally different trajectory on his career right now, but he's with the cards and it is what it is, man. So ah let's get in into week four, dude. So we will kick it off Thursday night football.
01:02:43
Speaker
Seahawks at the previously mentioned Cardinals in Arizona. Seahawks been playing good ball. Cardinals been kind of all over the place, man. like they're kind of like a soft two and one right now. um What do you see in this one, man?
01:02:55
Speaker
Dude, I really do like what I'm seeing from the Seahawks. Their defense is just going to keep getting better. Darnold's playing good, man. Like, I mean... we all kind of doubted whether or not he could keep this going. And I mean, Grant, we're only through three weeks, but he's played good football, man. they He's keeping them in games. He's not trying to do too much. they're They're starting to run the ball a little bit. I like the Seahawks in this game, dude. I just, I do not love this Cardinals team, man. There's just something about this team that I don't like.
01:03:26
Speaker
I don't disagree with anything you said, but being Thursday night football is kind of weird. I'm sticking with the cards, man. I think the cards get it done at home Thursday night. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Seahawks win this one, but I'll go cards. Okay. All right. Sunday in Dublin, early morning, going to an 8.30 kickoff for us here in the States.
01:03:42
Speaker
Vikings and Steelers.
01:03:46
Speaker
think Brian Flores cooks his defense up and has Aaron Rodgers in shambles. he has not looked good the last two weeks. That first week, I agree with you, he did look really good. Last two weeks, he has looked like an old man.
01:04:00
Speaker
Vikings defense can fly around, and I do not love it. I just don't like the Steelers offense, man. car Got old man Carson Wentz in there. Vikings ah offense runs better with him in there, so I'll go Vikings.
01:04:12
Speaker
Yeah, we're not seeing the explosive plays out of him, man. i still I like what the Steelers do a little bit more, man. I don't know. i I can't see Carson Wentz having two good games in a row, dude. So I'm going to go Pittsburgh, man. we'll go We'll go separate on two straight games. I'm going Pittsburgh. ah Chargers, 12 o'clock kickoff in New York.
01:04:29
Speaker
I don't think it's going be enough, man. I think Chargers win, and I'll double down say this is the last game of the Russell Wilson era, and we see Jackson Dart in week five. This is the first game of the Jackson Dart era, you turd.
01:04:40
Speaker
He's starting? Yeah, they already announced it. Oh, I did not even see that, dude. Wow. I'll show you how busy I've been, man. They already announced when it. When did they announce that? It was earlier today. they announced Dart was starting.
01:04:51
Speaker
Nice, dude. We should have led with that. How did that not make the format? I completely forgot about it. but i thought I said it to you before we started talking or when we were on doing pre-show. No, don't think so, dude. You all wasn't listening, man.
01:05:02
Speaker
Oh, and they signed Young Hoku today, so Giants should be back at it in no time. I mean, how bad does that look after a week one, though, dude? The Falcons cut, you know, modern team legend Young-Ho Q, and his replacement misses literally every kick he takes.
01:05:16
Speaker
i mean, he definitely missed two, but if he did go five for five in Minnesota. So, I mean, I get the the gist of it, but Young-Ho has not been good the last two years. They announced Jackson Dart was starting at noon today.
01:05:29
Speaker
Okay, yeah, totally missed that. Like said, went straight from work to football practice, man. Okay, so the first man, that's a brutal way to start, dude. I don't like starting him against the Chargers, dude. They couldn't rolled Russell Wilson out there one more week.
01:05:42
Speaker
Yeah, like it that's another thing. It never even would have crossed my mind, man, especially when next week you got the Saints, dude. but You have the Saints next week, man. Why not let him why not let Russell Wilson go one more week, get him ready to open up against the Saints?
01:05:54
Speaker
He looked bad in that Chiefs game, though, dude. He was throwing a lot of rainbow balls that should have gotten picked off that didn't. He got Malik Nabors hurt. Like, dude, it's just not a good look, man. I'll say Chargers roll, man. I do not like starting Jackson Dart first first game this at this week at all, dude. Not good against Jim Harbaugh.
01:06:14
Speaker
Titans, Texans, man. Texans have absolutely three straight brutal losses, man, to start the season. They're going to get right on Sunday and beat the shit out of the Titans. I hate to say it but it's true. i agree.
01:06:25
Speaker
Commanders and Falcons. This is a rematch of that instant classic from week 17, Sunday night football last year. What do we know about Jay Daniels, man? Is he playing? They have not said.
01:06:36
Speaker
He's still not practicing as of right now. But yeah if I'll say if it's Steven, the Marcus Mariota revenge game, I think the Commanders win, man. I think they get the double. I think the Commanders win no matter who the starting quarterback is. Like,
01:06:49
Speaker
the The Panthers game put me out on the Falcons. Like there's there is something not right with that team and you just cannot have that happen. Dan Quinn coming back into ATL, dude.
01:07:00
Speaker
ah Saints and Bills, man. Do you think the Bills cover 16.5? That's a lot, dude. and they just yeah I don't know, man. it's It depends how the game goes. I can see the Bills getting up early and, and you know, like a little backdoor cover action from the Saints. Bro, the Seahawks just beat the Bills by 40 points. Like, no.
01:07:18
Speaker
are You mean beat the Saints? Sorry, the Saints by 40. Yeah, I don't think this game is closing. Yes, I think the Bills do cover. The money line is New Orleans plus $1,000, dude.
01:07:28
Speaker
i mean, why not? that That's some serious cash, bro, on the off chance that they shock the world, man. Yeah, it is. I'm not betting it, though. The Bills money line is minus $2,000. It's a lot.
01:07:41
Speaker
Yeah. It feels like such a sure thing. I don't know, man. and so I got a funny feeling. going to keep an eye on this one, man. Maybe something funny happens, dude. But, yeah, obviously, Bills. Bucks and Eagles in Tampa. Whew.
01:07:54
Speaker
I think Tampa wins, man. I think Tampa wins. It's going to be hot, dude. It's going to be hot. Noon kickoff down in Tampa. I'm sure the Bucs going to be you wearing white jerseys, man. Put the Eagles in their dark jerseys.
01:08:05
Speaker
I think they find a way to get it done. Let's see what the... Yeah, it's going to be 88 degrees at kickoff, dude. 88 degrees and sunny at kickoff. I think the Bucs win, man. And then the Bucs going to be 4-0. Dude, I'm not doubting the Eagles, man. Until they lose, I'm not picking against them. I just I can't like, they've won their last 17 games. Like, I just everybody just keeps doubting this team, and they just keep winning. So, I'll go Eagles. Okay.
01:08:30
Speaker
Browns, Lions, Lions. Yeah, Lions should roll. in Detroit. Patriots and Panthers in New England, man. i don't know, dude. Drake May has been a little all over the place this year, dude. I was high on Drake May coming off last year.
01:08:42
Speaker
ah The numbers don't look too bad, but if you've watched him play, man, he's been a little scattershot, dude. Obviously, he's trying to make a ton happen without a whole lot of talent around him. um I believe in Vrabel, though. I'll go Pats, man, to get to Um...
01:08:54
Speaker
um
01:08:58
Speaker
i mean It's a tough one to call, dude. That game could literally go any number of ways, man. every Every possible outcome in the multiverse is on the table there. I'll go Patriots. I just i think Vrabel's a better coach than I mean, obviously better Raheem Morris, but i just I don't feel like this Panthers team is good either. like i yeah I don't think anything they did on Sunday was a reflection of who they are.
01:09:22
Speaker
Two and one Jags heading out to San Francisco to face the three and oh Niners with Matt Jones at quarterback, man. I think the Niners win, dude. The Jags should, they have enough talent. The Jags should be able to beat this team, dude. But I feel like in Cali, a cross country flight, I think the Niners win.
01:09:38
Speaker
Yeah, I'm going to go Niners as well. um Okay, so we got to talk about this every week. the The Travis Hunter watch, we got it we got to keep watching this. Like, dude, are at all skeptical with the way this is going through three weeks?
01:09:53
Speaker
I mean, it's not Travis Hunter's fault. It's the coaches, bro. Like, dude, I don't know. Like, he had the one time he got the ball, dude, he looked twitchy as hell. He looked like freaking Kadarius Toney out there in a good way, man. Got one catch for 21 yards on Sunday. No, that is good. Bro, Kadarius Toney with the ball in his hands is fucking dangerous, bro.
01:10:10
Speaker
Like, dude, I get it. Dude's absolute knucklehead and would make some boneheaded stuff. Watch that dude run the ball, man. Go back to that Super Bowl against the Eagles that they won. That dude is electric when he has the ball in his hands. it Looks like freaking Percy Harvin, man. Is it? And that's what Travis Holmes is like. He's shaking people. Like, dude, you got they need to game plan ways to get the ball in his hands in space.
01:10:28
Speaker
I don't know what the deal is, man. Maybe he's not grasping stuff at practice and he's had a trouble adapting. And it's just something that, you know, is not not readily ah ah you know apparent to us just watching at home on the couch.
01:10:39
Speaker
But from what I see, dude, I mean, he's everything we thought he was supposed to be. You just got to give him the freaking ball. Something is not right with this team either. Like Brian Thomas Jr. has seven catches through three games and he has not looked right in any of those games. Like yeah there's. I'm playing with Trevor Lawrence in the coaches. Like I said, I know ball. I've seen Travis Hunter play. Dude can play, man.
01:10:59
Speaker
There is some. Yeah, there's really something not right about this team. I don't know what it is, but something's not right. You got Dion even speaking out against it, man. like this They're not using him enough, man. Like i said, it's just, dude, if if it's if there's not if the ball's not naturally finding him...
01:11:15
Speaker
ah Excuse me. If the ball's not naturally finding him through, you know, whatever progression they got set up, dude, just scheme some plays to get it directly into his hands, man. Cause yeah, I mean, he only had one catch, but it looked like what you thought Travis Hunter was going to like in the NFL when he got it. So I'm getting, obviously, you know, I like Travis Hunter a lot. I got him on my fantasy team. I'm frustrated by it just cause I want to see what he can do. Cut him loose. like Let's see him get the ball eight, 10 times, man, and and see what he does. So yeah, the Jaguars kind of on my shit list right now in the early season. i'm going Niners all the way. Yep. Same.
01:11:47
Speaker
All right, the undefeated Colts traveling to L.A. I think the buck stops here. I think the Rams thump them, dude. there's There's got to be a course correction on this. I cannot exist in a football universe where Daniel Jones is the best quarterback in the NFL. So I think the Rams thump a little bit and bring them crashing back down to earth.
01:12:03
Speaker
I don't think the Rams thump them. I do think the Colts keep this game close, but I do think the Rams are a better team overall. And just the fact that it's in l L.A. is enough for me to put it over the top. I think the Rams win, but I do think it's close.
01:12:18
Speaker
We got the Ravens and Chiefs. um You know, Jordan is little bit of a loser-leafs town match, man. Both teams limping in at 1-2. But the Ravens 1-2 feels totally different from the Chiefs 1-2. I feel like the Ravens, like, you look up, if you've been watching their games, you look up and you're how the hell is this team 1-2? Whereas the Chiefs, you know, it's almost the other direction. Like, how did this team win a game?
01:12:37
Speaker
Chiefs have just not looked good, man. Still got to have faith in the infrastructure there. that you know At some point, they're going to go on a little streak. It's not starting this week, though, man. I think the Ravens go out and handle biz and win pretty handily. I agree. I think the Ravens win this game easily.
01:12:52
Speaker
The Chiefs just look like a bunch of old guys out there playing football. It's like if you assembled like a 90s Hall of Fame team and threw them out there right now. like That's what it looks like to me. Yeah, I don't know if they just you know if Andy Reid finally lost his fastball on the scheme and isn't able to get past this the lack of play, making talent on offense anymore. But, yeah, it it is not even it's not even like the offense is still efficient, just not explosive, which is kind it had been the last three seasons. The offense, just it just sucks now, man. There's no other way around it. They scored 16 points. ah are Sorry, 22 points against the Giants. Like, it's not good.
01:13:26
Speaker
Yeah, through three games, Patrick Mahomes has 660 yards passing, three touchdowns, one interception. and That's his numbers. It's not good. That feels like, you know, shave a little bit off the yardage, and that's like one Patrick Mahomes game from that first year he was starting. And he's their leading rusher through three games, also not good. All right, this is a tough one to call, dude. I feel like I'm, you know, I got a coin sitting in front of me. I feel like I'm about to flip it while Jordan's making his pick. Bears and Raiders in Vegas.
01:13:55
Speaker
i The Raiders do not look good right now, man. I'm going to go Bears. I'll say they win two straight games. Yeah, I agree, man. well Again, i'll I'll go off just what I see. I feel like the Bears got a little bit higher ceiling. Like when Caleb Williams is on, he's very entertaining player to watch. So I'll say Bears win.
01:14:13
Speaker
Packers and Cowboys, Sunday night football. Dude, Packers are going to get right. they They might win this game by 30, dude. The spread is Packers 6.5 in Dallas, which is already shocking enough, man. You're giving up almost a touchdown on your home field.
01:14:24
Speaker
to a two-on-one Packers team. But yeah, I think this is going to very similar to that playoff game from a couple of years ago. Yeah. I do not like the Cowboys chances in this game at all. I think, I think Micah is going to show up big time on Sunday night, man.
01:14:36
Speaker
Oh yeah. He's got to bro. It all timer of a revenge game with the entire eyes of the nation on you. All right. We got another doubleheader Monday night. First off, we got the toilet bowl of the week. Oh, and three jets against the Oh, three dolphins dolphins got to win this, right?
01:14:51
Speaker
wouldn't say gotta. yeah i mean, they should. Yeah, I'm going to take the Dolphins, but dude, the Jets are bad, bad. ah yeah I'm not saying the Dolphins aren't, but the Jets are bad, bad.
01:15:02
Speaker
I'm picking the Dolphins to win. I'm kind of rooting for the Jets, because I want to see Tyreek Hill just crash out on national TV. He would, too. And then Bengals and Broncos, dude. The poor Broncos, man. They're 1-2, but the two games they lost, they led the entire fourth quarter, dude. The last two weeks, the Broncos have lost after leading the entire fourth quarter, man. All 15 minutes of the fourth quarter they've led.
01:15:25
Speaker
But then when the clock hits triple zeros, they're on the losing end. So I think the Broncos get it right and drop the Bengals down to 2-2. I agree. I'm going Broncos as well. All right. That's it for this week's picks. Let's hit Million Dollar Bets.
01:15:39
Speaker
Okay. I got money. Me and me. Money in the bank.
01:15:52
Speaker
right, we were both losers last week. The previously mentioned ah Indiana Hoosiers stumped Jordan's parlay, and the Browns beating the shocking the Packers stumped mine. So I lost 75K. Jordan lost 50K. For the season now, Jordan is sitting at 800,000, but he does have those two season-long over-unders on the Browns and Saints that are potentially going to float his boat here at the end of the year.
01:16:18
Speaker
I am setting at $1,288,000. So this week on the Wheel of Death, Jordan had an all-AFC Moneyline parlay. So he's got to pick one Moneyline winner from each division. Jordan, what four teams you got lined up?
01:16:30
Speaker
All right, so I got Chargers at Giants. I got Texans at home against the Titans. I got Bills at home against the Saints. yeah And I got Ravens yeah in Kansas City.
01:16:43
Speaker
Okay. What is that paying out? What are you betting on? What's that paying out? $75,000 would pay out $227,528. Okay. So pretty conservative. Which leg you feel shakiest on,
01:16:52
Speaker
okay so pretty pretty conservative which which leg do you feel shakiestt on man Actually, I feel pretty good about this one on all of them. I guess Ravens would be the shakiest leg.
01:17:03
Speaker
Yeah, Ravens. I feel like, yeah, hearing it, Ravens is like knee-jerk. Ravens is shakiest. Titans and Texans got a pretty good rivalry, dude. You know, we'll let the Will Levis Titans beat the Texans last year, they're in the way the playoffs. So that there's always a chance for some ASC. You know, intra-division just shenanigans, right? But I would say, yeah, that's that's probably the two I'd be worried about, man. I think the other two are money in the bank,

Caleb Williams' Potential & Closing Thoughts

01:17:24
Speaker
pardon the pun.
01:17:25
Speaker
So I got ah I got college and pro. So I got to do a parlay, a money line parlay from against the spread for college and NFL. I'm taking the previously mentioned Texans. So I got action on that game. Just like Jordan, I got the Texans minus six and a half.
01:17:41
Speaker
ah again or Excuse me, minus seven and a half against the Titans. And in college, I have Georgia minus six and a half me against Alabama. it's ah half It's three and a half.
01:17:52
Speaker
ah Excuse me, yeah, three and a half. So minus three and a half against Georgia on that bet. Let's see here. me pull up the DraftKings. I have I'm betting 100K on that one. I feel pretty confident in this two-leg parlay. So I'm betting 100K, and it will pay out $353,881 if both those teams cover the spread. So I'm going to send screenshot to Jordan to lock it in.
01:18:14
Speaker
Jordan, send me your screenshot, and we'll get ready for listener mail. Hell yeah.
01:18:31
Speaker
All right, got one question this week from one of our biggest fans, James Mosley. Jordan, hit us with it. All right, James asks, what does it take for Caleb Williams to not be labeled a bust?
01:18:45
Speaker
Keep putting together weeks like he had last week, man. You know, he's got the the the the in-style genius of the NFL when it comes to offense. They've got, at least on paper, they've got some solid weapons around him. I think he's got to build off what he did last week against Dallas. He doesn't got to look that spectacular every single week, but keep having more weeks look like that and less weeks where you're running around with a chicken with your head cut off. I don't think the underwhelming start to his career has been all on him. Obviously, he's got some blame, but, dude, the O-line has been horrible.
01:19:11
Speaker
I don't think he's had a lot of help from his coaching staff since during his short time in the NFL, but... But he's got some ownership of that, the lack of success as well. But i'm I'm not closing the book on him all the way. He's still got a chance to end up becoming a very productive NFL player.
01:19:24
Speaker
I agree with everything you said. I still think the the future is bright for him. we'll ah We'll see how the rest of this year progresses. I mean, if he does not have a ah good last 13 games or 14 games of this season, obviously we'll have start talking about it. But I think for now he's still got a positive career ahead of him.
01:19:43
Speaker
All right, that's a wrap for the week four edition of the goal line. Jordan, hit us with some closing thoughts, and we'll get out of here. Well, it can't be any worse than last week for me, right? So welcome to hell.
