Speaker: Hi, this is Christian Jardinov. Thank you for tuning in. Today, I'm going to talk to you about some simple and what should be common sense, but not so much common practice things you can do to reduce the negative effects of electromagnetic frequencies, aka EMFs, for you and your family.

Speaker: Pretty much everything I share with you, I have researched myself somehow, I've learned it somewhere, and I'm relaying it to you in my own way. Obviously, there's a lot of clinical anecdotes that I have with my clients, what works, what doesn't work, and so on.

And I'm just going to list off some of the bullet points in the article and just briefly discuss here and there and kind of add my own musings on the topic. I do have

The other one is called EMF by Dr. Joseph Mercola. I'm sure many of you know him. He's doing some great work. And yeah, those two books are really good. I have those. But for all intents and purposes, right, for the way I see it is you don't

Speaker: need or want to be an expert in every single thing. So you don't have to understand why EMFs are bad per se. For example, I don't fully understand why breathing in diesel fumes, exhaust fumes is bad for me, but I want to avoid it. I don't understand all the molecular mechanisms of oxidative damage and

Speaker: antioxidant depletion and mitochondrial sort of dysfunction that is created by ingesting harmful substances. But if you know something is harmful, you can just take the steps to protect yourself and your family. That's all you have to do. You don't necessarily have to

Speaker: become a freaking biochemistry, biomolecular scientist, PhD, not at all, not at all. Let's just learn some basics. So when it comes to EMFs, they are detrimental. It's radiation at the end of the day, right? It's radiation. So obviously there's a saying like the dose is in the poison or the dose is the poison. So a little bit of

Speaker: radiation won't harm you now, a little bit of alcohol won't harm you now, a cigarette won't harm you now, but over time low -grade exposure to radiation disrupts cell signaling and it has negative effects basically on the body.

Speaker: Similar to a little bit of a poison, over time accumulates, it can cause depletion of antioxidants, again, glutathione, it can just cause a chain reaction of other things, nutrient deficiencies, eventually malnutrition, malabsorption,

Speaker: You know what I mean? So there's a cascade of things. So what we want to do as parents and as folks that want to increase our health and longevity and not just lifespan but health span, the length of time we are healthy, we have to do

Speaker: you know, a little bit of everything really well. So what are food being very important? We have to learn to breathe better, as with the previous episode on the podcast, on my Connecting Minds podcast shows. You know what I mean? So today, let's just go, instead of me rambling on why it's important, sorry, I'm sorry, I have to just finish this point. A lot of, especially men, I don't know, is it their ego? I don't know what's preventing them to understand that yes, these

Speaker: EMFs from your cell phone, from your Wi -Fi router, and so on. They are harmful, right? Just because you can't see it. It's like, I can't see it, therefore it can't hurt me. Come on, man. You can't see Wi -Fi signals, but you can download a YouTube video. You can watch a YouTube video in real time. You can't see the

Speaker: the bits and bytes moving across the ether. No, you can't, you know what I mean? So there's a lot of invisible things that are harmful that we have to at least mitigate. And it's actually when I finish with some of these points that these guys talk about, you see it's actually not that hard. So just to kind of... I'm just going to read from the article here again from integratedhealthblog .com.

Speaker: The link will be in the description. So just a quote from the article. There is a growing body of scientific evidence and research data on the adverse effects of EMF. The evidence points in multiple ways that EMF produces negative effects. These include oxidative effects, changes in blood flow and behavior,

Speaker: interference in calcium channels in cells, weakened immunity and creating conditions that can lead to cardiovascular events and other significant health issues. The research also explains the subjective effects reported by people such as memory problems, tinnitus, inability to concentrate, poor sleep, fatigue, irritability and mood effects, pain etc.

Speaker: Finally, the research points to the longer -term effects of EMF exposure, including cumulative effects of oxidative damage and inflammation and higher incidence of major health issues.

Speaker: Okay, so let's say that's not all true. Let's say some of the science hasn't been elucidated enough and over time, if research is done, it's only half true or a third of it, right? Isn't it still better to err on the side of caution? I think it is, especially

Speaker: Especially if you're talking about, uh, you know, you having kids or, you know, someone or yourself, your, your, uh, health is not the best. It's like every single negative influence on, on you, your health or your children's health. It adds up, right? So for some people, literally EMFs can be the straw that breaks the camel's back per se. You know, I personally, I am not very sensitive to things like this.

Speaker: Um, I, you know, I actually, uh, back, uh, more than 10 years ago, I worked in a telecoms company and, uh, we were testing the set up boxes for like, uh, that they were going to roll out for all the, you know, home customers and the set up box that, um, you know, it was kind of state of the art back then you could record, um, you know, your shows.

Speaker: and it had a nice visual interface and you could buy on -demand movies and bollocks. So anyway, we were testing these setup boxes and each one was basically a Wi -Fi router because it plugs into your home sort of outlet where the fiber optic signal comes in and now you have basically

Speaker: It's your multimedia system. So that's your modem. You connect your PlayStation to it. All that stuff, you know. And all of them had 2 .4 Wi -Fi and 5 gigahertz Wi -Fi. So we had to test all these things. And at one point, we had easily. So each one of us is kind of leading the team and testing team. And we... What was it?

Speaker: We had the set top box in front of us, each at least once, sometimes more. And we had like a big rack, where it was like at least 35 of them or so.

Speaker: that we're testing various things, recordings in the future and so on. I had zero understanding about this stuff back in the day. One of the dudes in there said, you guys know that we are literally getting cooked here as we sit in here with all these signals, being in a microwave on a very low setting.

Speaker: I tell you, since then I've been thinking about there was at least three guys that worked in that building that had cancer, right? And two of them are, one of them was, I think it was like 50 plus easily, but two of them were, one was early thirties, one was late twenties when they got the cancer. So that's pretty,

Speaker: It was called the head end, where a lot of signals were going out. So there was all sorts of machinery there. I'm not just talking about these set -up boxes. They were a new phenomenon that they brought in the company. But there was a ton of other equipment there that was probably generating even crazier amounts of EMS. So I don't know.

Speaker: Correlation doesn't equal causation, but I personally didn't feel too good being in that office anyway. Anyway, there was no window, no fresh air, so there's many problems with its shitty lighting and stuff. But yeah, that's kind of, when you think about it, it's kind of weird, right? Anyway. Okay, so the number one thing about EMFs is distance. So the further you are,

Speaker: from a source of EMF, the better, right? So the tips these guys list in the article.

Speaker: I could have compiled all of these like through researching through the books. I just again, you have to like save time, just share the information with people and you know what I mean? Just give credit where credit is due. And that's, I believe that's the way we can reach the most people. We don't have to, all of us reinvent the wheel every time we're sharing information. So number one thing, listen, please now, now is when you got to tune in, don't hold the cell phone.

Speaker: to your head when you talk on the phone, right? Do not, if you see someone you love, okay, someone you like, just tell them if they're talking on the phone, maybe when they're finished talking, let's not be rude about it. Tell them, listen, by the way, that's very harmful, okay? Just use speakerphone or get like some earbuds, you know? If it has to be like a private conversation,

Speaker: Like once or twice in the last few years, maybe I've had my phone a few centimeters away from my head and with the in -call volume kind of as high as possible so I could hear whoever I was talking to. But most of the time, speakerphone or, you know,

Speaker: You have your earbuds. That's super important. This is now just when it comes to children. Please remember this now. If you have kids, do not give them a phone unless it's in airplane mode. Now, I know they want to watch stuff and play games. Think of something. In my house here,

Speaker: My baby's crying in the back here. In my house here, my Wi -Fi is never on. Occasionally, when we have guests and whatever else, I might turn it on for a bit or sometimes if there's some infrastructural issue and I need to work, I've put it on in the past, but for very short periods of time.

Speaker: I just have from the router, the modem router, whatever, I just have Ethernet cables and I have one up in my office and that's hooked up into a, what do you call it, a switch and then from the switch more Ethernet cables and then for like for an Apple device, I have like a little sort of adapter

Speaker: We'll have a lightning adapter or have two of those.

Speaker: I have the older one, forgot Thunderbolt, and then I have USB -C, so for my Wison. And I have a couple of downstairs. And it's quite easy. The parts are quite cheap, right? For $100, you could really set up your home so everyone can be on cabled ethernet. And it's better in terms of speed and drop off and whatever else.

Speaker: it's okay, you're a little bit constrained, you can't just walk around up and down the room. So in some cases, maybe it's not the perfect solution, but you don't have to be perfect all the time. And I still use my phone on just regular kind of mobile internet, especially when I'm moving up and down. And it's just as much as you can. For example, when you're working, that's eight hours or whatever, or if your child is on the phone, which they shouldn't be on the phone obviously for an hour,

Speaker: but if they are at least mitigate i'm not you know gonna judge you or anything like we all have to do what we have to do to kind of you know survive but it's not easy being a parent but uh you know just mitigate these little things

Speaker: So keep your router away from you, away from where you work, away from your kids are playing, and especially where you're sleeping. And even if it's quite far away, okay, if it's very far away, it's like 10 meters, 30 feet away, okay, I wouldn't even worry about it.

Speaker: But you may want to turn your router off at night, especially if it's like a few meters away or if it's in the same room for sure, you want to turn that router off at night. It's not a big deal, unless you need to have it on all the time. But then again, if you need to have it all the time, whatever device you have that needs internet all the time,

Speaker: Just use Ethernet and I know a lot of these kind of newer smart BS devices. They're their only Wi -Fi and Yeah, that's a whole different kind of worms that we don't want to open up right now

Speaker: but basically throw them out. Just kidding. No, I'm not. Okay, so don't sleep near smart meters, solar inverters, broadband devices like network extenders, or even plug -in transformers like phone chargers. So it's interesting they say even like phone chargers,

Speaker: I have an EMF meter, which is actually quite decent. I haven't used it in a while, but when we moved into our apartment here, as I was setting up everything like furniture in my office or whatever, I did a lot of measurements.

Speaker: Devices are plugged in the more devices you plug in the more so this electric field, electromagnetic field, the bigger it sort of gets. One device will be smaller, but if you plug a bunch of stuff like two laptops, phone charger, you can actually detect it. The signal it detects is stronger.

Speaker: And you can detect it from further away. So you need to be further away in situations like that. Like here I have six, seven things plugged in. And yeah, it's...

Speaker: It's kind of important to create some distance between yourself and these things and these fields. Similarly, I found with my freezer, because my dog's bed is close to it, so I had to push it like half a meter further away to kind of be a little bit further when I was measuring with the EMF meter.

Speaker: OK, so space is one thing. The other thing is time. So if you can reduce the amount of time that you're exposed to these EMF fields, it would behoove you and it would be good for your health long term. So again, like I said,

Speaker: When I'm using my phone, sometimes I need to move around. So I do have it, you know, it's not on airplane mode, but I try to at least keep it a meter or so, at least an arm's length away or more from me.

Speaker: And if I need to use it, I use it for a little bit and then, you know, move it away. So it's not always next to me. So if I'm not right now, for example, I'm recording this episode, I'm not really using the phone for anything. So it's quite far away from me. Yeah. That's that's basically it.

Speaker: That's really it. And then I haven't actually read this article in full. I was just using the points in there to jog sort of something I can riff on. But yeah, they cover wired connections. I kind of already covered that. Let's see. So shielding. OK, so they cover shielding. Yeah, so what I'll say, so there's a few different things I use for shielding for me and meth.

Speaker: For my phone, a Faraday bag, which is kind of handy when you're not using a phone, you can put it in there. If it needs to be close to you and on, you can put it in and that shield so no signal can come in or out. They're not too expensive.

Speaker: And also it's cool that the phone can't track you then, right? So if you need to drive somewhere or whatever, and it's in the Faraday bag, like a normal phone is just constantly like monitoring everything you're doing, which is kind of creepy, isn't it?

Speaker: so these Faraday bags and they come for like for tablets in those sizes for laptops you can get those when my wife was pregnant we had a kind of like a

Speaker: a blanket emf blanket with silver sort of fibers and uh that i test actually tested that later on when i got the emf meter and i was actually pretty surprised because it's very thin almost like um silk the the material is kind of this very nice material wasn't too expensive i mean it wasn't cheap but it wasn't too expensive you know it wasn't like 300 bucks or something i think it was like

Speaker: I don't know, 100, 150, something like that. Probably more expensive now, of course. But I think LeBloc is, if you search for that EMF blanket, they have quite a few different bits and pieces. So yeah, so that, so it's a silver and whatever other, the other fiber, the cotton or whatever it is, doesn't matter.

Speaker: So I was surprised how such a thin garment can actually block fields. So I got a couple of those, one for me obviously, one for my wife and one for my kid. And you can just use them, like let's say you're going to the, if you don't live in a big city.

Speaker: You go into the big city and then you can use that. Or if you're pregnant, you know, you put that over your belly, use a phone, or keep it on your belly as much as you can. If you're in an environment with EMFs, of course. You could also, for guys, you know, if you're working at the computer,

Speaker: And you know, there's no way to have your laptop cabled or your phone has to be near you or you're in an office or whatever else. You can keep that on your delicate parts to protect them, right? So things like that. There's another brand.

Speaker: You can find their stuff on Amazon. Actually, they're the ones that they have those Faraday bags that I was just talking about. So it's called Mission Darkness. And they have these blankets that are made from polyester on the outside, which, you know, it's more durable than cotton. I believe that's why they use polyester. And on the inside, it's nickel and copper. So they

Speaker: They are quite good as well and they're pretty well priced. If I remember correctly, I got big throw blanket types and then smaller like little like a baby type blanket. And I think for like less than a hundred euro, I think you could get one of those or dollars.

Speaker: they're really good so like you know when my kid was small we would like drape it around the cot you know we go somewhere around the buggy you know what i mean like they're just used to have we don't live in a big city if you live in a big city i would get those for my

Speaker: My family members and just have them use them more, right? For example this the block brand I've tried to find the the website and I think they're in Europe, but I'm sure there's lots of

Speaker: if you search online there's lots of emf blocking stuff garments out there but so these are the blog guys they make them kind of really quite nice the the garment so like i said these curves they almost look like silk they're really uh pretty you know for for like um

Speaker: For women, you can just use it as a garment and they also have like caps, hats. I have a couple of those as well that I've actually not used. I haven't really had the need to use, but let's say if I go to a big city, if I need to do some business in a big city or something, are we going away or whatever, I will bring those with me. And if it's colder, I'll bring a hat. And if it's obviously, if it's warmer, I'll bring the cap.

Speaker: Yeah, again, it's a fairly small investment when you think about how long it will last because you're not going to be hopefully getting it dirty all the time. So you won't be washing it all the time. So it won't degrade, right? So you grab, let's say for your child or your wife or whatever, it doesn't matter. You grab a couple of those and you just tell them, look, if you're going to

Speaker: be on your phone, just drape it over your front or your body. Is it that hard? Or you put the scarf around your head. It's really not such a big hassle. But if someone has health issues of any kind,

Speaker: I think it doesn't hurt. It's a small investment. It can almost, I'd say, last you for life. And it's just one more stressor that it reduces, which is always welcome.

Speaker: Yeah, so I think these guys now in the article, they talk about filtering dirty electricity. And again, I'll just throw the article in there. Those are the most important things I wanted to cover. Just create some distance between the devices and yourself. If you can't avoid Wi -Fi and wireless signals, reduce the time if possible.

Speaker: possible, get some Ethernet cables, they're cheap, get some adapters for your phones and your devices, and have them on airplane mode and with Ethernet on. For children, keep them as much as possible away from them, always on airplane mode if you've got to use them, these devices with your kids, and additionally get some garments to protect your

Speaker: at least your most vulnerable family members. Now, a lot of dudes, you can barely feel feelings, nevermind freaking EMFs, right? So a lot of us dudes don't need, or we think we don't need this protection. And honestly, I don't feel like EMFs affect me, right? Like I said, for the kids, the wife, whatever,

Speaker: someone older, like a parent, it doesn't hurt. It makes a good birthday gift or Christmas gift instead of some crap, plastic other crap that they don't need or want, you know, something that is practical. So that's it. I would say, you know, distance, reduce time, keep wireless signals off at least for some time of the day. Like if you're not using
