I've kind of just dove headfirst into the whole stats thing, so, and that's kind of made this more fun for me and, you know, given me a little something to do with myself, not that I didn't have enough, but you know. Speaker: So we had a couple of good questions that came in on Twitter and I want to share them with everybody so they could kind of understand what's going on. Nathan Losman asked, this is after last week, I looked at the stats, thought, thoughts on whether the Sun Wolves record against this forward is an anomaly. My feeling is that they faced fewer elite guys at the position, EG, no arty, no Frisell, or Frisell off the bench even. I'm not sure I'm buying that particular stat.
Speaker: I don't disagree, but here's the fun thing. They're still at the top. I adjusted the numbers. They're still at the top. And he's not wrong where they don't always play the best. What was my reply? I gave the reply in terms of who they faced. So here's the top loose forwards that they faced in terms of the number of points that they scored by week.

Speaker: So there's very few 20 pointers. There's a couple that are close. But other than that, most of them are just not scoring that much. You're looking at, you know, a really good week. I consider probably 15. Okay. One, two, three, three. And the names that are on there are Dempsey, Danda Priya and Hubert. Right. So those are the good names, although they kept your Kiri Awani in check. Yeah, that's fair.

They're scored on defense. So if they're doing things
Speaker: in their attacking structures that are aimed at avoiding the other team's loose forwards, then yeah, you're not going to get the points. So it's not just a matter of, oh, you're not playing the best. It is. That's a factor. There's definitely an element to that, for sure. But it's also how you get points offense and defense. So if you're running your attack, and from what I've seen of the Sun Wolves, they do the things that you see from
Speaker: Japan rugby where they keep the ball alive. They keep it moving and so, you know, they'll offload so and I don't know if the If fantasy rugby draft counts or if anybody if you have an offload from contact that count as a tackle So it's like if you're keeping the ball alive rather than
Speaker: Just taking it down and recycling it if you're you know, that's the way you play the game Right, it kind of neuters those those points for free for your especially for your loose forwards who are probably making a lot of those tackles so Yeah, I think there's there's something to be said for the fact that they're not playing those You know, yeah, the guys are getting some rest, but it's also right so they
Speaker: And really, they were on the bad list only because of who they were going against, but they were going against the team that was also not very good. Turns out the Bulls end up doing did very well as a front row. The Taws were on the shit list, which were the team they were going against. Speaker: in the green list. It's, you know, unless it's on the stop sign or the green light, I'm not saying don't play them. I'm saying see if you have a better option. Right. That's the idea. It's more of a decision making. If I have two players, you know, and I'm not sure, I'm honestly not sure which to start, that's my go -to is I'll go check out what Jared said.
Speaker: and say, okay, well, if one's green and one's red, I'm probably going to go with the green over the red and less. It's just the green is just, they're going against a team that tends to surrender more points. You know, it's not the end. I'll be all there and you know, there are some team, some players that might be green that will never score that well. And there are some guys that are going to be listed as red that you would never sit anyway. Right. So, you know, you have to make that decision on your own, but at the same time, this is just, it gives you an idea.
Speaker: Um, last question. Um, I had, so, uh, Bulls front row. Um, uh, I have Bulls front row. I'm reading this chart. Um, this is a good pick against the Crusaders. Um, the, the numbers have been updated, so it's not as good of a pick. Um, do you, uh, I do have a point, we have a chart for points against, um, I can tell you, give me one second. Cause I gave him, I gave him a list of the front rows. Here we go.
Speaker: So, the top five front rows right now are Lions, Brumbies, Reds. Lions, Brumbies, Reds, Chiefs, and Bulls. And then Crusaders and Hurricanes. So, and that's separated by about 50 points between the Hurricanes to the Lions. So, decent gap. But if you want to close it down to just the Bulls to the Lions, that's about 30 points.
Speaker: So, less so. And, you know, if you consider a good week 10 points, that's not... That's not that... That's a couple good weeks apart. Right. That's what that comes down to. So, you know, is the Bulls front row decent? Yeah. It's decent. It's got scalp breaks. He's back. They have a couple of loose heads. A couple of loose heads have been performing very, very well.
Speaker: So, it's there. Just, again, make your own consideration, but at the same time, if you're stuck in like, I don't know what to do, that's why you put this stuff up. Let's see, who are the teams that are giving up the most? Some of the Chiefs, Highlanders, and Rebels are your four worst teams in terms of front row.
