Chris Minnick: All right. And so, yeah, I worked on it. Uh... I found this to be a lot more difficult than I expected it to be. okay And. Truth be told.

Chris Penick: where it lands but you got to get it to spin cleanly on an axis vertically And then, even if you get it on the rough spot, Here. As long as it's that's the axis, it'll spin there.

Chris Penick: get off track, how to make a goal. You know, if I worked with something that was simple, that could show the progression, I could say, okay, this week I'll work on. Getting it. a clean spin and i've seen some people do a two -handed technique like this I've seen some people do like what I try to do is I seem to have better luck and maybe I'm wrong now. Now it's wobbling. So, but see, they do that though. you know but getting a clean spin, because I don't even have a clean spin yet.
Chris Penick: So that's that's a problem. That's step one. And then, you know, one of these videos I watched, the guy was great.
Chris Minnick: Yeah.
Chris Penick: He was showing, you know, he's just sitting there, standing there like this and it's spinning it around. And he said, you know, it's all. It's not super difficult. It's just time. It's time and I think that goes just True.
Chris Penick: for a lot of tasks. I truly believe people can learn. Anything? with enough time. and support And so I.

Chris Penick: thoughts i literally got up i think it was like somewhere between two and four in the morning and just wrote this down. And I said, the difference between today's student. And the next Einstein, or I guess insert any other genius.
Chris Penick: name there. is the habits of that...
Chris Minnick: That today's students aren't smart.
Chris Penick: No, I said it's the habit is the habits of the students and the system that supports them. You know. Okay, so I'm thinking about this, right? So it's the habits that you set up.
Chris Penick: As a student, Right? So because like Einstein, you know, he worked at what ah a trademark or. a A patent office, sorry, patent patent office, right?
Chris Minnick: Yeah. Yeah.
Chris Penick: And so he's studying math. In his... Spare time. there because he must have been overworked as a below.
Chris Minnick: Yeah.
Chris Penick: clerk type worker, right? So, I don't know. i do do Am I too off base? But i think I think just that.

Chris Minnick: I wake up at 5am, right? Set my alarm for 5am. I spend. First five minutes like taking all the pills I'm supposed to take.

Chris Minnick: Second five minutes I go to the bathroom.
Chris Penick: I feel personally attacked
Chris Minnick: Third. Third five minutes, I'm putting on my workout clothes. And then it is 20 after five before I. get out the door to do my.
Chris Minnick: supposed 20 minute run. I've been doing it.
Chris Penick: Okay. All right. Yeah, but...
Chris Minnick: And then I'm not done with my run until 545. And then I spend 15 minutes writing in my journal. And then it's like.
Chris Penick: Okay.
Chris Minnick: 610. And I'm like, well. I totally missed out on my opportunity to do my 20 minutes of writing or of learning, apparently.
Chris Penick: oh So, well, OK, so it's the it's the switching is the task switching in between. I mean.
Chris Minnick: Yeah.
Chris Penick: that 2020 -20 isn't taken into account. And it's the same thing you and I have when we're teaching classes, right?
Chris Minnick: Yeah.

Chris Minnick: Yep.
Chris Penick: when you go from one module or one thought or one task to another, or elementary school teachers are familiar with this when they, so you know, the kids stay in the same classroom, but okay, now we're doing social studies or now we're doing English. Right.
Chris Penick: yeah It takes a while before your brain and body adjust to whatever that new task is.

Chris Penick: So I think you modify this.
