this sports podcast network Hello and welcome to another, that's my chair going, another Everton podcast, part of the GSPN official network, giving you daily podcasts every day in theory. I'm with ah Johnny who ah obviously is an Everton fan. How are you how are you feeling? A couple of days rest after that. I'll call it a performance.
00:00:32
Johnny
Fantastic! Come on, next game!
00:00:35
officialgspn
Well, luckily you've got an international break, so you've got a week, you've got a week kind of rest.
Everton vs Bournemouth: Match Recap
00:00:39
officialgspn
um For those that don't know, I'm sure you do, Everton played Bournemouth at home on Saturday. Two in a lap after 87 minutes and conceded three by the time it went 90 plus six.
00:00:53
officialgspn
um First of all, Johnny, what what were your thoughts of of how we played and and how it ended?
00:00:59
Johnny
It was great. We did well. It was all Everton. There was only one team here. There was no Bournemouth at all. They weren't even in the game. And Daishi made his decision. Bring them subs on. Game over.
00:01:12
officialgspn
very much dice at the forefront of the issues then.
00:01:15
Johnny
There's no excuse in it. Absolutely not. It was all Everton. And the new players that he started with like in Dye and it was the other guy we had on.
00:01:25
officialgspn
yeah eric burham in si in again It was first half.
00:01:26
Johnny
yeah power What fantastic, some of the through balls, some of the passing, and I was just absolute man of the match for me. I knew he would be and it was brilliant to watch. It was great, Everton.
00:01:42
officialgspn
Slower than the second, the only kind of memorable moment I saw was in die at a shot inside the box that hit straight the keeper, but there was, like you said, there was no Bournemouth.
00:01:50
officialgspn
Second half, cross from Harrison, ends up at Keene and he does a classic, you know, every week we talk about him, Keene, for as much as maybe defensively, he isn't the best defender in the world.
00:02:02
officialgspn
He does find, he does find the old goal was a great finish for him, wasn't it?
00:02:07
officialgspn
It was, and it kept going, good football. um There was a little moment just after we scored, Erick Burnham and Harrison combining to give Coleman the chance. He comes inside and misses a sitter.
00:02:17
Johnny
It was right in front of him there. that i think that I don't know whether that would have if we scored that in the end of him because it was oh was right but in front of him.
00:02:24
officialgspn
Yeah. I was watching on the replays again just now and it is, it's it's right in front of him. He's about six yards from the goalkeeper and he just blazes it straight over.
00:02:36
officialgspn
But I think at that point it was all positives. um
00:02:38
Johnny
but Well, yeah it was nonstop. Yeah.
Impact of Late Substitutions
00:02:40
officialgspn
And then Eric Bunham takes the ball on the left, finds McNeil, guides it into DCL, who does another good finish it at that point, you're thinking, right, three three points into the international break and you're looking good.
00:02:53
officialgspn
um And then it just happened, Bournemouth on the left-hand side scores with Semenu at the back post. Bournemouth then on the right this time, so they're finding weakness on both of our sides this time.
00:03:06
officialgspn
Semenya crossing in, Lewis Cook getting his first goal in Premier League history, which I think is a big Everton thing for us, letting players score for the first time, so that's nice.
00:03:15
officialgspn
And then obviously Bournemouth got the third on the left, Clive crosses in and see the Sarah scores from the back post.
00:03:20
officialgspn
Are you saying that maybe Deish is at fault for the for the whole get for the result? Is it the substitutions?
00:03:26
Johnny
Yeah, just think that I just can't excuse that at the end. I mean, he had a great team, he did really well. And then and just but you I was just gobsmacked away, just threw the whole three points away after after fighting so hard for 87 minutes. One team, Everton. It was all ours.
00:03:48
officialgspn
It was. ToffeeTV, one of the other Everton social media accounts, was on Sky Sports and he was saying that it was all on dice for the substitutions. Just for your information, to Corey on Fur and Die, I think it was about the 88th minute, and Die obviously one of our better players, and then Beto came on for DCL just after Bournemouth scored their first goal.
Managerial Decisions vs Player Performance
00:04:08
officialgspn
I'm in the camp where ah I can't see why you would blame a manager after a great performance and i for me it was player capitulation other than Dijs substitutions, but I'd love to hear your say on why you think Dijs was at fault.
00:04:25
officialgspn
I'm not saying he's not at fault, but I just think that it's he's been a hardship critique this week.
00:04:32
Johnny
I just, I just can't understand why, how we lost it.
00:04:39
officialgspn
is it Is it a mentality thing where after he brought in Die Off, one of our better players, that the the pressure changed the game and there was no outlet, maybe?
00:04:46
Johnny
Yeah, yeah. and Because then die on it. It was bang, bang, bang, bang, bang.
00:04:52
Johnny
And they didn't know what to do with him. Bournemouth were like, wow, watch this guy. He was everywhere. He was ever passing through balls. He was getting the ball everywhere. He was all over the pitch. He controlled it.
00:05:03
Johnny
He was just absolutely amazing. And then I think when you took him off, it slowed the game down a bit. And then and it gave Bournemouth their opening. And it was like, right, we're having this.
00:05:15
officialgspn
Yeah, the only thing that I can think of saying is, if Liverpool were 2-0 up and Mo Salah's had a great game and the manager takes Salah off, are any Liverpool fans going, why on earth is he taking him off?
00:05:30
officialgspn
He 2-0 up with three minutes to go.
00:05:34
officialgspn
I think, yeah, maybe you're right and Di was giving you that outlet and
Everton's Consistency Issues
00:05:39
officialgspn
he comes off, it slows the game down and it puts the pressure on the players, but
00:05:43
officialgspn
what What pressure is there with three minutes? Obviously, Everton have got that history of of kind of of switching off, yeah.
00:05:46
Johnny
You're switching off.
00:05:50
officialgspn
But I think it's inexcusable on the players, and I think the manager has to take the front for it.
00:05:57
officialgspn
um But yeah, apart from that, we played well. Aribunum had a really good game again.
00:06:03
Johnny
Yeah. Yeah. I don't think you can fault us.
00:06:04
officialgspn
um No, I don't think you can. I thought we were brilliant for, like I said, 87 minutes. and I don't know where we go from here.
00:06:15
officialgspn
We've got an international break and then we've got a couple of really difficult games. We've got Villa away.
00:06:21
Johnny
Yeah. phil If you're building the first game.
00:06:22
officialgspn
Villa is the first game away from home.
00:06:25
officialgspn
Then we've got Southampton in the Cup. Then Leicester away, Palace at home and Newcastle at home. Are we getting points from them?
00:06:31
Johnny
yeah You'd like to think so we're having points from all of them.
00:06:36
Johnny
like they These are all the games we should be winning.
00:06:39
officialgspn
Yeah, ah I don't know if there's another team with zero. I think Southampton might have zero points.
00:06:46
officialgspn
I think they do, and I think wolves might be on one, but it's just' not it's not a good sight, whatever it is, really.
00:06:51
Johnny
Yeah, Southampton and Wolves on one, yeah. And there's quite a few others on one after that.
00:06:56
officialgspn
Yeah, it's not good stuff.
00:06:57
Johnny
No, we don't want to be there at the bottom with minus minus eight goals.
00:07:02
officialgspn
I think it's, yeah. Mine is a, yeah, scored, considered a 10.
00:07:09
officialgspn
I know Dyson's press conference said that Branthwaite isn't um branthwiite and Patterson won't be back for the villa game. Are we sticking with Keene or are we finally bringing our 17 million quid centre back into the mix?
00:07:24
Johnny
I think he is going to stick with Keene. But i would I would bring the new lad on definitely. I'd start him early, bring him on.
Defensive Concerns and Player Impact
00:07:34
officialgspn
because I was, I was, I was watching some other people speaking about it and I don't think Keene's actually had the worst start, but it's no coincidence that last season we had one of the best defensive records.
00:07:45
officialgspn
You then take Branthaway out, bring Keene in and he's, we can see the 10 goals already.
00:07:50
officialgspn
He's not the main criticism, but I think he's definitely one that needs to be changed for, for O'Brien.
00:07:57
Johnny
Definitely. Yeah, definitely. He really does.
00:08:01
officialgspn
And then is it, is it ah how did you think mc Neil played? I thought he was okay.
00:08:06
Johnny
Yeah, he's so okay, McNeil, yeah. didn't Didn't think he did too bad at all. I thought he played reasonable.
00:08:13
officialgspn
He was okay.
00:08:15
officialgspn
And I thought Harrison was actually really promising again.
00:08:18
Johnny
Yeah, he was. He got stuck in Harrison.
00:08:21
officialgspn
that's the That's the odd thing, isn't it? When you do one of these, you play well for 87. I don't actually have that much many bad things to say about the players.
00:08:28
Johnny
No, ah can't account't for I can't fault any of them, I don't think.
00:08:33
officialgspn
It reminds me of the yeah the Newcastle 2-2, where ah that ah Newcastle centre-half scored two in two minutes under, I think it might have been under Ancelotti.
00:08:44
officialgspn
It just keeps on happening, doesn't it?
00:08:46
Johnny
I know, looking that way, isn't it?
00:08:48
officialgspn
and I mean, at this point, is it just a cursed club? I don't know. I've got a game coming up that we need to win. and Obviously, we're still in the cup. We've got Southampton at home.
00:09:01
officialgspn
um And I think, I think, ah, looking at, yeah. Spoken up again, let's have a look at, there we are.
00:09:07
Johnny
We're going to take the positives out of that game, though. but Definitely. We've got loads of positives. That game, I thought, was a turning point for us. I thought the way way we played, it was it was just great. We messed up at the end. You know, just look at how we messed up and fix it.
00:09:25
officialgspn
How would you fix it?
00:09:29
Johnny
It might have to be keen, like you say. It might have to be keen.
00:09:34
officialgspn
And maybe Diesch's lesson is to, if players are playing well and are impacting the game, don't take them or just take of it.
00:09:42
Johnny
Just leave them on. Just leave them on.
00:09:46
officialgspn
We had 18 shots.
00:09:47
Johnny
If I was playing for 90 minutes and I'm on fire, you take me off, I'm going to be disheartened. I want to keep going and going and going. If I get one goal and I've got my momentum, I want to get two goals.
00:10:02
Johnny
Calvert Lewin, his confidence must have gone, once he put that goal in the back of the net, it must have been absolutely busted. you know, Calvert-Lewin's scores are going, it's it' brilliant for him. He must be like, yes, come on. Right, off you go, son. He's like, no wonder I don't want to play for this club.
00:10:20
officialgspn
If they'd have kept them on, they may have got another one. I think, yeah, maybe it's the pragmatism of Daish.
00:10:26
officialgspn
And speaking of pragmatism on Daish, we're going to have a look at his post-match press conference, but ah not before you get a little taste of our first advert.
00:10:38
officialgspn

officialgspn
ready to tell your story, check out the link in the show description to learn more about Zancaster. And genuinely it is actually a very, very, very, very software. We're using it right now and it's for someone that's never used it. I'm actually finding it relatively easy.
Manager's Accountability
00:11:17
officialgspn
um Someone that's not finding it relatively easy is Sean Dyche. In his press conference after the game, he said, not doing the hard side of the game. um He speaks to the players a lot all the time and that's his biggest frustration. I would probably agree there that he's putting it on the players. They're not on himself with his decisions.
00:11:36
Johnny
Is that him not taking responsibility for his actions?
00:11:40
officialgspn
Yeah, that's what a lot of people are saying. He's going going for one-two's overlap-wise, what he said as well.
00:11:46
officialgspn
Like we were just saying, isn't when you tune a lap and you're playing well, the thought is, let's go in let's go and get another, not protect you.
00:11:53
Johnny
yeah Yeah, that's right, yeah.
00:11:55
officialgspn
And is that something that we're, is he able to learn from that? Or do you think, you think that I think that's what we've got, isn't it?
00:12:01
Johnny
Yeah, there's what we've got and there' that that's his style of play. I mean, know I've never liked just one up front on his own, the Calvert-Lewin up front by himself, I've never liked that. I always believe at least two up front, definitely, so they can work with each other.
00:12:15
officialgspn
You think gameplay too? Obviously, we haven't touched on the new signings. We got Broher on a very, very last second deal.
00:12:23
officialgspn
He hasn't, I think I've got it here. He's got two goals in 33 appearances. He's injury prone, but do you know much about him? Do you think he he could potentially play up front with but Calvert Lewin?
00:12:35
Johnny
there's only one way to find out
00:12:37
officialgspn
Get him in the blue shirt.
00:12:39
Johnny
yeah get it going straight i
00:12:40
officialgspn
He had a great Yeah. He had a great cameo for Southampton a couple of years ago.
00:12:46
officialgspn
I remember, I remember watching him and he looked really, really good. Um, and I think there was been after him for a while. Whether or not he firstly can get match fit and secondly can tune into what is quite a negative atmosphere evident at the moment, whether or not he can potentially be a positive light.
00:13:04
officialgspn
we We don't know, but I'm personally happy with him. And have you seen much about man gala from Leon? Obviously he played for forest.
00:13:10
Johnny
Oh yeah, yeah, that's a great buy for us, isn't it? Great buy.
00:13:14
officialgspn
Started for Belgium in in the Euro alongside, Onana.
00:13:15
Johnny
Yes. Yeah. Fantastic player.
00:13:20
officialgspn
Is he one that you would swap out? Would you swap them out for who've we got? Would you swap them out for Rubenham? Would you keep him in or would you you get the aging Idris again again outside?
00:13:32
Johnny
A gahner gay, probably, yeah.
00:13:34
officialgspn
but That was might be a bit harsh on Idris again.
00:13:36
officialgspn
Yeah, that's actually been quite good for us.
00:13:39
officialgspn
But yeah, youre he's he's one that I think was kept on in the Bournemouth game.
00:13:40
Johnny
Let me just throw him in the mix.
00:13:43
officialgspn
And we had James Garner on the bench.
00:13:45
officialgspn
i would have but if If there were any stuffs I would have done, I would have brought Idrisa Garner gay off for James Garner. but a Bit of energy in them. If I don't know if Eric Burnham was tiring, but he's about 10 years younger than an addresser.
00:13:58
officialgspn
So potentially Mangala would fit in next to Tim Eric Burnham.
00:14:02
Johnny
Yeah, yeah, he would, wouldn't he?
00:14:04
officialgspn
I think he'd be okay. Anything better than... Actually, no, I'm going to stop being harsh on a dress to go on a gay. He's actually been fine for us. But yeah, going back to Dyche's press conference, he seemed so frustrated by it.
00:14:18
Johnny
But he's got to be, hasn't he?
00:14:20
Johnny
He's just thrown away through voice.
00:14:22
officialgspn
It's like when you've done a bad email at work, and then you've lost a hell of a lot of money for the company, and then you go home to your missus at the end of the day, and you go, God, I feel really annoyed after that.
00:14:32
officialgspn
Well, you should do, because that's what you did.
00:14:34
officialgspn
um So, are you dice? God, it's terrible to say three games in, but are you dice out?
Future of Dyche and Everton
00:14:44
Johnny
him leading us into the new stadium. I really can't. I don't believe that he's a premier Premier League manager that's going to take us to the top.
00:14:55
Johnny
I really don't. I mean, he's odds-on favourite to get to be one of the first managers to be sacked, along with Man United's manager.
00:15:04
officialgspn
okay That's what you know we're bad for.
00:15:08
Johnny
Yeah, I know, yeah, when we're as good as Man United. it
00:15:12
officialgspn
but I didn't know he was, is he, do you know if he's biggest favorite to go or he is great.
00:15:17
Johnny
Dices, yeah. Yeah, here's the movie.
00:15:19
officialgspn
And I think haven't Patty, I'm sure there was some betting companies that have already paid out when I was getting relegated.
00:15:25
Johnny
Yeah, oh my god, I didn't know that.
00:15:29
officialgspn
Well, let's look at who else we've got that could potentially go down instead of us. Southampton.
00:15:38
officialgspn
And then you're looking at the other clubs that have come up. Ipswich may struggle.
00:15:42
Johnny
Yeah, I think it's Southampton, it's which, a
00:15:47
officialgspn
Leicester, I thought, I think they might be okay. Looking at how they played against Spurs.
00:15:58
officialgspn
And then all the other teams who, who was it? Wolves, Palace, Brentford.
00:16:02
Johnny
Worms Palace. Yeah. We could be getting relegated with Man United.
00:16:05
officialgspn
Um, I know, I know it's, there's nothing worse than having a terrible result at the weekend. And then you see the red lot, the other side just.
00:16:18
Johnny
yeah they They're flying at the minute, aren't they? The top of the league.
00:16:21
officialgspn
oh yeah And I hadn't seen much of their manager, but he seems to be, seems to be working wonders for him.
00:16:28
Johnny
he's He's doing brilliant. I mean, hats off to him. He's done done great. honey you know He's the first manager to to win at Old Trafford for what how many years?
00:16:37
officialgspn
It's just shocking, isn't it?
00:16:41
Johnny
We want to be up there, don't we?
00:16:42
officialgspn
we do that Yeah, that's one of the other things people have been saying is that when asked about it, people that aren't Everton fans will go, well, what is Deutsch meant to do? he's He was a firefighter when he came in, got us out of a relegation battle.
00:16:56
officialgspn
Is he expected to do more?
00:16:57
officialgspn
Do you think he is?
00:17:02
Johnny
You'd like to think so, yeah?
00:17:05
officialgspn
With the players we've got, do you think we've got enough? It's a genuine question, isn't it?
00:17:08
Johnny
But... Yeah, I think we've got a great team. We've got a fantastic team.
Everton's Potential and New Stadium
00:17:14
Johnny
You've seen it yourself playing against Bournemouth. Great team. We've got so much potential there with those players. It's best of those new ones we've got. Absolutely. We should be up in that mid-table. Definitely taking on the big boys.
00:17:30
officialgspn
The big boys being Wolves, Palace, Brentford.
00:17:35
officialgspn
That is our big boys now, to be fair.
00:17:36
Johnny
It is, yeah. Just get us above that putting line, we'll be all right.
00:17:37
officialgspn
but Yeah, it doesn't really matter. It's getting into that new stage, I think, just getting just getting through the season.
00:17:44
Johnny
Yeah, that's just surviving, yeah.
00:17:46
officialgspn
Yeah, it's just...
00:17:47
Johnny
And what a lovely stadium that is. and what A lot better looking at last week.
00:17:49
officialgspn
Yeah, I mean, you visited it, haven't you?
00:17:52
Johnny
Yeah, yeah. I went to ah Liverpool last week and had a little wonder down to the Bramley More dock. And it was quite a walk, actually, from the town centre. and I mean, it took me a good 45 minutes to to get there from the town centre.
00:18:08
Johnny
It was a nice, nice walk along the front, but I didn't realise how far it was from the Albert Dock. and But when I got there, it was, oh, it was stunning. was You can only see so much without getting told to leave.
00:18:22
Johnny
I tried to go across the line and, excuse me, mate, what's that? Oh, no, you can't cross, you can't cross, okay. And I met one of the pitch guys who would explain to me what goes into making the pitch, and which was quite interesting. He he was telling me how he's worked on the pit different pitches across the country. And he was just basically telling me that everybody's just trying to all work together. I mean, they're all under each other's feet at the same time, but everybody's just trying to get this stadium up and running. and
00:18:53
Johnny
and It was was good. I went and had a drink in the ah the Bramley Moor pub as well. Met the lovely landlady and some of the locals round there, which was nice.
00:19:01
officialgspn
What have they got on tap?
00:19:05
Johnny
What? I didn't know. just I'm sure they'll run out by the time we get there.
00:19:06
officialgspn
That's the most important issue here. yeah Especially if we're losing.
00:19:15
Johnny
Yeah. like yeah well youre Very nice.
00:19:20
officialgspn
But no, that the stadium is one that the the stadium is one that at least we've got some kind of positive for it.
00:19:25
Johnny
Definitely, yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:19:28
officialgspn
And I think, yeah, like ah again, people that have been I've been watching have been saying that we we are kind of like a zombie club. We're kind of just in the middle of nowhere, we're just trying to get through it. But I think for this season, that's fine.
00:19:38
officialgspn
I think it's just getting through it.
00:19:39
Johnny
Yeah, it's this year.
00:19:41
officialgspn
More revenue will come in with with the new stadium.
00:19:44
Johnny
That's right, yeah.
00:19:45
officialgspn
It will be a new stadium bounce, I hope. um And yeah, hopefully we'll um hopefully this is just the last season of of of anguish, which is annoying because Goodison has been such a big big part of everyone's lives.
00:20:00
Johnny
Yeah, it'd be nice to end on ah on a highlight.
00:20:04
officialgspn
it would It would, it would. I'm going to ask you for your predictions for the next five games, but first we'll learn we'll just take you through the last, ah the advert. global sports podcast network, every club, every day. And we will be obviously doing daily podcasts. It's just literally starts the season. and Yeah, I think we'll, ah we'll get a few wins on our belt and the ah podcast will be flying through.
00:20:52
officialgspn
So we'll the next five, I really hope so.
00:20:52
Johnny
The next five, I think, we're going to win. Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
00:20:57
officialgspn
If we've got better away, then better away.
00:20:59
Johnny
um Watching that game in the corner.
00:21:02
officialgspn
It's not an easy one, is it? Filler are playing brilliantly.
00:21:04
Johnny
Oh, no, yeah, you got one input, one pass.
00:21:05
officialgspn
Obviously, Onana has got two goals in three games, which is... it
00:21:09
Johnny
I feel it's getting rid of him.
Player Departures and Upcoming Matches
00:21:13
officialgspn
So yeah, that...
00:21:13
Johnny
Oh, it seems to me the way we get rid of a player and then they go to go start doing well for someone else.
00:21:16
officialgspn
It's ridiculous. I'm sure ola we won't be able to play Marseille, so Mopay won't be able to ah to score against this, but I'm sure we'll play him in a friendly and he'll bag a few in.
00:21:30
officialgspn
but he was yeah he's what Sorry, yeah, so we didn't touch on the who left. Mopay left a couple of days before the end of the season. and I'm personally glad to see him gone.
00:21:37
officialgspn
I think he's a his mentality is repulsive and he shouldn't be anywhere near us.
00:21:41
Johnny
Oh, he's not very much loved by the Evertonians, is he?
00:21:45
officialgspn
and even it's not even to do with and um still mo pay ran he's It's not even to do with his his attitude. He's scored one goal in about 30 games.
00:21:53
Johnny
Yeah, not good enough.
00:21:55
officialgspn
It's just it's just crap. He's rubbish. And then for him to do that tweet for Richard Romano, make it seem as if he's escaping a ah burning building.
00:22:06
officialgspn
Um, I think we've escaped the burning building. see Like I said, he he's called one in about a year and a half. So good riddance.
00:22:12
officialgspn
Hope he does well.
00:22:12
officialgspn
at marte Um, so yeah, Villa, can you, can you see us getting a point? Three points, maybe two
00:22:19
Johnny
Yeah, I'm going to say two nil Villa.
00:22:22
Johnny
In fact, I've already put it on me super six.
00:22:25
officialgspn
ah Have you got goal scorers for that, or are you keeping that quiet for now?
00:22:30
Johnny
Calvert Lewin. Yeah.
00:22:34
officialgspn
Oh, I would love a 2-0 villa.
00:22:36
Johnny
Calvert Lewin and then die.
00:22:38
officialgspn
Kavalu and Indai. Okay, we'll ah write these down and we'll we'll come back to you when we we prove it that we are prophets.
00:22:47
officialgspn
Southampton in the Cup, is it what is it too early in the season to say rest of the play to the Premier League, or are we going for this Cup as well?
00:22:55
Johnny
I think he's going to arrest them and save them, isn't he?
00:22:57
officialgspn
Yeah, I think so. But it is a home draw.
00:23:02
Johnny
We should be winning that against Southampton.
00:23:04
officialgspn
And it would be a good it would be a good indication if it were of where we are.
00:23:08
Johnny
Yeah, it will, yeah.
00:23:09
officialgspn
It reminded me of when we played Burnley in the Cup last season, and I think we were struggling at that point, and we turned them over three three or four nil. And I think that kind of gave us confidence, like the Doncaster game did, that they're our team's worth, and us, apparently.
00:23:19
Johnny
Yeah, yeah, it did, yeah.
00:23:22
officialgspn
Um, Lester away always a tough fixture. I don't remember. I think the last time we scored, we went away from them was when, um, I think it was guilty Sigurdson at the time. That's how far, that's how long ago it was.
00:23:33
Johnny
That last time we beat, beat Leicester.
00:23:36
officialgspn
I think it was in the away from him. I might be wrong. It's difficult game, but I think that's another one we've got to get points from.
00:23:43
Johnny
Yeah, 1-0 or something like that I'd say with Leicester.
00:23:47
officialgspn
I'm going to go for one nil. I think, uh, James, uh, uh, Jacob Brian going to school.
00:23:53
officialgspn
If he starts, obviously. Then Palace at home, that's a six-pointer. I think people playing the Leicester one was six-pointer.
00:23:59
officialgspn
I think, no. The put the Palace one, you've got it you've got to win.
00:24:01
Johnny
now we should hol should be 3-0 against palace that's a 5-0 yeah 2-0 definitely yeah
00:24:04
officialgspn
It should be. And then Newcastle at home as well. Obviously not a Saturday in three o'clock kickoff. That never happens. I think playing at 5.30 that day. Newcastle.
00:24:16
officialgspn
Newcastle. At home, we we so we smashed them last season at home.
00:24:23
officialgspn
Let's go for a 2-0.
00:24:27
officialgspn
You're saying-0 Villa. I'm going to say that we're going to lose to Villa. We're going to beat Southampton in the Cup. We're going to draw at Leicester. Palace will get three points. We'll get a draw at Newcastle.
00:24:38
officialgspn
That means that we'll have had five points for the next five games or four games.
Managerial Changes and Club Ownership Issues
00:24:44
officialgspn
If we don't get a win at Palace and we don't get a win at Villa, is it at that point you're calling for Diesch's head?
00:24:51
Johnny
Yeah. Cause we're not, if we don't start making decisions now, we're going to stay, we're going to stay down there and we need to get out, get out of head above water. so That, that, you know, that.
00:25:04
Johnny
bottom three, we need to get out of there. Even if we're just floating, we're not going to do nothing. If we don't win these next five games, we're just going to fizzle away.
00:25:12
officialgspn
because that's the thing, isn't it?
00:25:14
officialgspn
yeah three Three games, three losses. If you lose to Villa, that less the game, you've not won and you've not got a point. It's starting to get very toxic.
00:25:24
officialgspn
And I personally don't know who we'd bring in. People are saying Moyes potentially.
00:25:28
Johnny
Yeah, I've read that. Yeah. Moisy.
00:25:30
officialgspn
I don't know if if he's... I don't know. I don't know who we'd bring in. I'm hoping we don't have to. but
00:25:38
Johnny
Well, you don't want to go backwards with Moyes. I like Moyes. He was great at Everton. He did a hell of a job with us. He turned the club. He was fantastic. But do you want to go backwards?
00:25:51
officialgspn
I think it will be a case of the fans forcing Diesch out and then whoever the who whoever the owners are.
00:25:59
officialgspn
Machiri obviously is having a nice holiday somewhere somewhere abroad. We haven't seen him for God knows how long.
00:26:05
officialgspn
I don't even know who who who makes the decision to get rid of Diesch. I don't even know if there is one.
00:26:12
officialgspn
Got John Textor potentially buying us, having to sell his 45% Palace shares first.
00:26:18
officialgspn
like i've been like I've been seeing from other people, the club's a mess. And if it does come to a point where we don't win those next five, and Daish is forced out, who's going to bring someone in?
00:26:27
officialgspn
And who's goingnna who's going to sack them in the first place? It's a big mess.
00:26:32
officialgspn
But the only thing that can change that changed the move, change the narrative is getting
Optimism for Avoiding Relegation
00:26:37
officialgspn
some wins. And we use this international break to recoup and get and hopefully get a result back from Villa.
00:26:39
Johnny
That's right. Yeah.
00:26:44
Johnny
We've got to stay positive as blues.
00:26:46
officialgspn
You have, you have. and like you
00:26:48
Johnny
I never believed, even the last four years, and and a lot of Evertonans said to me every year, oh, you're going down, you're going we're going down, we're going to lose, we're going down. And I never once, ever believed in my heart we was ever going anywhere. We're going to struggle, life is always going to be tougher than Evertonian.
00:27:08
Johnny
but I do don't believe we'll ever be relegated until it happens. Even to them, them final days, them last points, I always believe we'll be all right. And that's in my heart as an evertoning. I always believe we'll be fine.
00:27:24
officialgspn
Well, I think that's a good way to end it. A little bit of positivity after 27 minutes and 29 seconds of of of negativity.
00:27:32
officialgspn
and Yeah, you're right. We've got to look at it as a positive. We played well against Bournemouth. Let's not let's not like's not call out a manager yet, in my opinion.
00:27:37
Johnny
Absolutely. yeah No, no.
00:27:40
officialgspn
And let's try and get some points um after the international break. But thank you very much, Johnny, for joining me. It's been a pleasure.
00:27:48
Johnny
Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. Thank you very much.
00:27:50
officialgspn
And we'll...
00:27:51
officialgspn
at the toffees. We'll be ah back tomorrow with a Wild Card Wednesday and we will ah come back to you with what the Wild Card Wednesday is, potentially about the internationals. But until then, thank you very much for listening and we will um see you tomorrow.
00:28:03
officialgspn
Take care, everyone.
