officialgspn
Network. Today we've got Jake who is a Leicester fan. We've got the crossover episode. How are we Jake?
00:00:33
Jake Leatherland
Yeah, I'm good. I'm excited to hear from an Everton fan both sides looking for the first one of the season and then we'll talk all things Everton and Leicester.
Seeking First Points of the Season
00:00:41
officialgspn
Yeah, we've, well, we're yeah're we're looking for a yeah first point, never mind a win. It's been dross. It's been dross. Yeah, obviously we've, we're kind of in a similar situation. We're both similar-ish. I think I get the feeling that you may be relatively happy with how your season started.
00:01:00
Jake Leatherland
ah yeah I think that's fair, like a content is probably the right word. There's there's a bit of frustration already with um some of Steve Cooper's decisions um based on obviously we we were 2-0 up at Crystal Palace in the last game and a bit of a dubious first goal which is is still going on today and there's been news about that. but Yeah, the the second goal is is from a penalty and yeah, some of his decisions bringing on defensive players and not trying to attack as frustrated
Managerial Pressure Before Upcoming Match
00:01:31
Jake Leatherland
fans already. So I think I get the impression that ah obviously Saturday is a massive game for both teams. as Is it always always going to be, but it's even bigger now because Deutsch is under a lot of pressure. And actually I think if we lose, I can see Cooper being under a bit of pressure from our fans already.
00:01:48
officialgspn
Yeah, I think you're right. I think it is going to be, it's one of those games where it's a six pointer, isn't it? it's It's early in the season, but ah both, well, Dij for certain is under pressure. I get the feeling when you're saying about the, obviously you were tuning up in that game, we were tuning up against Bournemouth and Dij did a similar thing with bringing on maybe not defensive players, but not keeping on players that could go attack and finish the game. um is it Is the consensus around Leicester that The time may be running out for him or is it still too early? because he's only He's not been there long, is he?
00:02:19
Jake Leatherland
no no it's not time-running out it's more frustrations possibly coming through early and there's obviously that knotting forest connection from the past and there's probably ah a bit of fans being a little bit underwhelmed to start with and to be honest I've personally been been happy enough so far I mean we've played Tottenham and Aston Villa at home who were finished fourth and fifth last season I'm sure we'll both be in and around that this year and we've played Fulham and Crystal Palace away who were both so or bang with table So we haven't played, um you know, Everton in the nicest ways. It is our first big, as you say, six pointer. So I'm quite happy so far. We probably should have won on Saturday, really, and if we we should have really held on and.
00:03:05
Jake Leatherland
it's a mistake from kind of Cody that's let us down but no i'm I'm quite happy I can just there's this frustration across social media which you know is not always necessarily the best indicator um of of what I felt in the grounds of the game so far and there hasn't been that um so the fans in the grounds of of been content and happy um with Cooper and the team.
Everton's Defensive Challenges
00:03:27
Jake Leatherland
There's been frustration at some of the refereeing decisions, but and yeah no the fans in the ground ah are on the side at the moment and hopefully it stays like that. um We'll see after Saturday, I guess.
00:03:38
officialgspn
Is there, because I know from when, when you went down, um, two seasons ago, the defense was an issue then. Am I right in saying that it's similar kind of thing? I didn't realize you were Cody back. Um, I know that is it face.
00:03:54
officialgspn
was ah at least was it was a weak link. kind i we I think he had it in the right euros. Is the defence still something that we could maybe maybe look at and exploit? Is it a set-piece issue you've got?
00:04:05
officialgspn
What can we exploit? Tell me.
00:04:07
Jake Leatherland
yeah Yeah, great question. um I mean, Everton's problem has not been scoring goals in those last two games, has
Leicester's Defensive Assessment
00:04:13
Jake Leatherland
it? um so And there was good chances. I watched the Villa game. um And there was there was good chances even at 2-0, 2-1. The good one I'm thinking of is when Calvallone goes through. And there was chances. So there'll there'll be opportunities against us. We haven't kept a clean sheet. We haven't really looked like keeping a clean sheet in all honesty. um And you need one sooner or later. But we've we yeah we've got goals in us.
00:04:36
Jake Leatherland
um I'd be, you know, it's easy saying now and it'll be funny if I'm wrong, but I can't see them in an ill-nilled game based off both sides' defenses so far this season. So yeah, there's definitely opportunities to exploit. While Faz last time had a lot of chris criticism from the Premier League, I'm going to say from clubs, but actually I think, I personally think he's actually our best centre back. Akoli, who's come in ah from Atlanta, is also very good. I actually quite like both of them. Faz isn't perfect. and
00:05:07
Jake Leatherland
You know, he's he's not an amazing centre by any stretch, but he's okay. and He has these lapses of... lack of concentration and which caused problems but um yeah it's probably Christiansen who will play left back for us here, he's somebody to get at. um So there will be opportunities for Everton, I'm sort of hoping that ah the other way there's going to be opportunities for us and it's going to be um whoever scores more which we sort of saw when we last played two two years ago in a bit of a shootout and it ended too well and that was a bit of a game, it it was literally whoever was going to score more goals.
00:05:43
officialgspn
Yeah, that was ah that was a relegation game back then, wasn't it?
00:05:46
officialgspn
was it ah Did Madison miss a penalty that day?
00:05:49
Jake Leatherland
Yeah, I'm still trying to forget it, to be honest. I sit behind the goal where he missed it, and yeah, it was ah yeah just and yeah it was awful.
00:05:57
Jake Leatherland
well I think a lot of fans include myself haven't forgiven him since, if I'm honest.
00:06:01
officialgspn
Yeah, um I'm going to the game at the weekend as well. Where are the away fans? in Because I've never been King Power
Enhancing Leicester's Home Ground Atmosphere
00:06:10
officialgspn
Stadium before.
00:06:10
Jake Leatherland
Okay, um it's so when the players come out of of the dugout it's in it's in the far corner um next to and we've got our family section and also the um the stands where um I was gonna say most of the noise comes from but ah That's not necessarily true.
00:06:27
Jake Leatherland
It depends really these stand used to be where all the noise came from ah but we now have a singing section which is It generates some noise um and he's getting better um and there's a determination by the club and the fans to improve the atmosphere. um I think we're not the only club that's really suffered from a lack of atmosphere in the last few years, especially I think post COVID. There's been a real highlight and as I said, I don't think we're the only club.
00:06:52
Jake Leatherland
Although I think some fans feel like that, that we're the only club that are suffering from that. But I generally get considered that a lot of clubs feel like the atmosphere is on the way. And although Everton are not one of those that are associated with that really at all.
00:07:06
officialgspn
Well, I'd say there is that kind of feeling that Everton have got. It's been dire at home. Obviously the performances haven't helped kind of lift the mood, but there were, I think in the last, I suppose it was maybe combined with trying to keep us up, but there were movements to kind of improve the atmosphere. When we lost to Southampton in midweek, it was, well, I get the feeling that it was really flat. And I think you're right, maybe post-COVID there has been an issue with with atmosphere since then. But yeah, I'd say that we are also a team if you if you go to go to sin the season. Well, hopefully we winning by then we'll be ah singing a bit louder, but for the for the moment it is it's dire. um Yeah, I was at the Villa game. Yeah, Calvallu and should have had a couple away, but we had, it was low percent present possession. And I saw when you played Leicester, you ended up having more possession than them.
00:07:59
Jake Leatherland
yeah yeah so when we played Villa um and I was really surprised by that because Villa generally dominate the ball but they can mix up their style they' they're great at that um yeah we had a lot of the ball um it was ah ah Villa did a lot with it and Villa were with a better team, it was a tight game though. um it it yeah Our game against them was very different to the one I watched yourselves play last weekend. It was a very, very different game. Obviously we were at home, but to you away which does make a difference. um
00:08:31
Jake Leatherland
i would I would expect us to have more of the ball because Cooper, if if his teams can have it, likes to have the ball, whereas um Sean Dyche clearly and isn't fussed about possession, which actually, to be honest, I really respect that.
00:08:45
Jake Leatherland
um I've got absolutely no issues with having the ball, not having the ball. um It's the the speed you move it with. If you've got 70% of the ball but you're moving it dead slow, and And you're not creating anything. I think there's nothing worse to watch, to be honest. It's so difficult to to get behind a team that's just passing it really slowly and not creating anything. It's almost like waiting for the other team to get bored and and jump out and and create space. And yeah, I do struggle to watch that. and And that was one of the issues last year was some of the fans really struggled, even though we won the league.
Everton's Possession and Attack Strategy
00:09:15
Jake Leatherland
Some of the football that was played wasn't always the most entertaining.
00:09:18
officialgspn
Yeah, yeah, I think you're right with with having the ball dice doesn't doesn't like having the ball when I'm very confident that you'll see most of the ball on Saturday, I think. We at the minute are struggling for identity, even even when we're at home, we're not having much of the ball and when we do have it, it looks like we don't know. I don't know really what we're going to do with it. Most of our goals or some of it at least have come from set pieces. um our midfield, that I think you'll see on Saturday, our our midfield doesn't, there's no kind of play between each other. It's all sort of just lump it up to Calvert-Lewin and see what sticks, whether that works, we'll see. Who is in the midfield for you then?
00:09:58
Jake Leatherland
um So based on the last couple of games, ah Harry Winx, Oliver Skip, and Dede, and Dede's almost playing off the striker, Jamie Vardy, as long as...
00:10:07
officialgspn
That's a change of position, isn't it?
00:10:09
Jake Leatherland
Yeah, just a little. I mean, and the you know, when we went down, only two seasons ago, he he was still a holding midfielder, which he'd always been.
Leicester's Position Shifts
00:10:16
Jake Leatherland
and then last season the championship he suddenly became this box to box so almost a little bit higher than a box to box which was very interesting um got goals and assists was really important um Steve Cooper's now pushed him even higher than that and he's playing off the striker I mean he's got three assists this season which is incredible um At some point I've been meaning to have a look at how many career assists he's got in the Premier League because I can't see how he could have many more than that, excluding this season if I'm honest, um because he never got assists or goals unless he was a screamer every now and again.
00:10:48
Jake Leatherland
So, really?
00:10:48
officialgspn
because we were in for him um in the summer. I got the feeling that they you wanted to get rid of him at at one point, or he wasn't signing a contract or something like that.
00:10:56
Jake Leatherland
yeah so He was out of contract at the end of last season, so I know he was talking to a lot of clubs. If I'm honest, I was surprised he signed a new deal. I fully expected him to move on. um Maybe the standard of offers he he got weren't what he wanted. I don't know, but I was genuinely very surprised to see him stay. um And I'm even more surprised to see him playing off the strike and getting assists.
00:11:20
officialgspn
How much did you spend on Skep? Because he was a decent child, wasn't he?
00:11:24
Jake Leatherland
somewhere around 20, 20 million possibly going up to 25, which I think is personally too much. He's actually played quite well for us so far, but I think the transfer fee is too much.
00:11:35
Jake Leatherland
Hopefully he proves me wrong.
00:11:37
officialgspn
Yeah, I get the feeling then with Winx and skipping the team, you're going to be wanting to play the ball a lot. I quite like Winx.
00:11:43
officialgspn
I thought whenever I saw him in the championship, he seemed to have maybe found his level there. um At least he was very, very comfortable in the championship.
00:11:50
officialgspn
I don't know how he's been playing so far for you this season.
00:11:53
Jake Leatherland
ah yeah he's but You know what, I'm going to say something a bit controversial, which a lot of lessons won't like. I wasn't i didn't like him at his performance against Tottenham or Villa. I suppose he really struggled, he got better as he went on. ah And Villa, again, he was definitely better in the Villa game, um and I didn't see any of the Palace one, um ah other than highlights to comment on his performance in that, because that wouldn't be fair. but yeah I'm so far I prefer I'd like to see a combination of skipping indeedy with someone more attacking like a buena notte we've got a loan from Brighton I'd like to see that we're not seeing that um but yeah Harry Winx if he gets time on the ball which actually on Saturday he will get time on the ball um he's very good at retaining and moving the ball sidewards but with a ah progressive sidewards pass not just aimlessly side to side so actually on Saturday
00:12:46
Jake Leatherland
when he finally gets more of the ball we might see um him really being able to dictate the game rather than being swamped which when you're playing against Tottenham and Villa is obviously going to happen.
Harry Winx's Recent Performances
00:12:56
officialgspn
Yeah, it's probably one of your first chances to actually get ahold of the ball and and show what kind of team you are in the Premier League. and Like I keep saying, we haven't got that Harry Winx, the progressive pass we've got in the middle, or at least I presume in the middle, we'll have Tim Irobunam from Villa, who's who's looked really good, actually, I think. um Hopefully James Garner will be back.
00:13:17
officialgspn
um And, so I don't know because I think Idris Saigon again will be I think he's, so he's had a family loss or something so hes he certainly won't be playing. See I can see yeah I can see Winx and Skip dictating in proverbial commerce that the game.
00:13:36
officialgspn
um In terms of the attack then, ah the I'll be honest, the only game I've seen from you was the Spurs one. In the first 30 minutes of the game, I thought you your wingers looked look look quite dangerous. Who's the one you got on the right?
00:13:51
Jake Leatherland
ah so fatawu is excellent but very young and hasn't he got an assist against tonne he was very good in tightening spells um he hasn't really hit the heights since he's um he didn't play against crystal palace or sorry he didn't start he came on but mavididi finally got his chance which less fans were, including myself, really, you know, hoping he would get a chance because he scored a lot of goals for us last year and assists. For some reason, Steve Cooper hasn't liked him so far, but he scored. and I'm sure he will start him again on Saturday with Jordan Iu on the other side for a bit of balance. He might even go more attacking and play both of them for title war room.
00:14:29
Jake Leatherland
ma a daily but yeah they're the two to look out for whether he plays them together and then Jamie Vardy who speaks for himself literally ah so far this season with two goals which if you can keep that up and keep himself fair is the main one because ah I still don't know how fit he is.
00:14:49
Jake Leatherland
I think I've said it on every podcast that I've done every week. and he He gets himself ready. He gets himself in the in the team because when he plays, he's just brilliant. each He just still is brilliant.
00:15:00
Jake Leatherland
um And look, he outpaced Mark Gay on Saturday, which I know got a lot of talk, which, yeah, I think that might have knocked some of the the price tag off his transfer value.
00:15:11
Jake Leatherland
But 37 year old Jamie Vardy sprinting past him to score.
00:15:15
officialgspn
ah Yeah, he's not lost pace at all, is he?
Jamie Vardy's Consistent Impact
00:15:17
officialgspn
He's um he's one that I think if he does start, he will score. He does usually get a goal against us. and with Michael Keane at the back, probably playing Tarkowski if he's fit.
00:15:28
officialgspn
but they're not' They're good at a low block low block, but with the way that you play, well the less that the the idea of Leicester I've got is quick, um quick progressive passes, quick wingers, then obviously Jamie Vardy running running everywhere.
00:15:41
officialgspn
um i think I think we'll struggle against him if he plays. Is Dakar not getting much of it much of a say then?
00:15:47
Jake Leatherland
He's injured, so he played pre-season and then got injured.
00:15:52
Jake Leatherland
It must have been the final friendly against Lons when we played them, and he's out for three months, which I suppose we've got about two left now, so roughly sort November time, give or take. so um yeah It's a strange one with him because he he hasn't lived up to the heights at all, spent a lot of money.
00:16:09
Jake Leatherland
He's an incredibly frustrating player, very quick. can actually be very good on his day and then just look like he's almost playing the wrong sport at times when it's so so strange um yeah having him and Ian Acho Ian Acho has now moved on he was out of contract but yes suddenly we've got Jamie Vardy Jordan Ayus come in who um isn't exactly the the most prolific striker but actually has surprised me as a good footballer and been a good addition. but yeah Goals from the striking area just concern me because he gets injured all um or injury gets worse. I think realistically he's not fully fit. yeah We might have a problem there in the future.
00:16:50
officialgspn
I think the same with us with with strike because we haven't got that much depth. We've got Calvert-Lewin, obviously, who himself isn't exactly known for his fitness at least the last couple of seasons. Beto's not getting not getting not getting a game. I don't think he's warranting one at the minute. And then we've got Shemiti out. So i think both I think for us, it's going to be goals. I think i don't know if you've seen much of Indai so far. He looks really promising.
00:17:13
Jake Leatherland
Yeah I mean I watched, when he was at Sheffield United actually in the Championship ah ah I really, to be honest just going down to the Championship, suddenly I i knew more than a lot of my friends and stuff because I loved the Championship even though we been we were in the Premier's for 10 years, I loved the Championship so I really enjoyed watching him there. Obviously he went out to Marseille and yeah I've watched bits of him, what I've but been able to for Everton and I think he's a very good player. um He's certainly the one that could really threaten us, especially from a wide area, if he can get him behind. um yeah he He's definitely a massive threat and it could cause a lot of problems on Saturday. like
00:17:49
officialgspn
Yeah, I'm excited. I'm excited to see him play. He's one of the only ones, for us at least, that gets the ball and actually drives. McNeil does it a little bit, but he's more of a sideways passer, as is Harrison. He doesn't give give much. um I think we'll we'll go on to we'll go into the combined 11. Before we do that, just um going to do a little adage before we get into that.
00:18:10

So let's go with the the combined 11 then. um I suppose I should have probably asked before, what is the formation that you and that usually start with?
00:18:53
Jake Leatherland
Yes, so far we're sort of playing, ah I guess it is a 4-2-3-1 because of where indeed he's playing, although if you're watching games sometimes it looks more like a 4-3-3 at different points, but I think 4-2-3-1 is fair.
00:19:07
officialgspn
Okay, well, I think we play, ah I think we play similar. um let's let's let's get Let's get into it then. So because yeah I think it learns a bit about the teams as well. So who have you got in goal?
00:19:17
Jake Leatherland
ah so months but this this is you know For Everton fans who who haven't seen much of us last year, it's a very different side and in some ah some ways, and then we've picked up players like Skipper, who we've already talked about, who's obviously primarily proven. So, Mads Hermansons, our goalkeeper, it's probably the most unknown, I guess, for primarily fans who haven't seen him yet. um Very, very good Danish keeper, very happy with him. um a very, very good goalkeeper who I think will get better and hopefully really establish himself, hopefully with us in the Premier League or somebody else at the top level.
00:19:49
Jake Leatherland
However, you've obviously got Jordan Pickford who and for many people have a critic, a very critical of him.
00:19:56
Jake Leatherland
Actually, I'm not, I'm not one of them. um I really like Pickford for England. I think Pickford's a very good goalkeeper and it would be hard for me to make a case for Mad Termansson in this team over England's number one goalkeeper.
00:20:10
officialgspn
Yeah, well, I'll take it. But yeah, I think at least well, the start of this season, he's had a couple of a couple of shockers that spurs. I don't know if you saw the Spurs one.
00:20:20
Jake Leatherland
Only the highlights and yeah that I think Romero scored off a corner the near post or back but yeah I did see the highlights.
00:20:29
officialgspn
So he's, um yeah, he struggled a bit, but I still i still back him as um is being one of the one of the players that will hopefully keep us up and hopefully thrive for ah for a mid-table, finish the season, God forbid.
00:20:40
officialgspn
and Left back, I know you mentioned it was at Christensen.
00:20:43
Jake Leatherland
Yes, yes.
00:20:44
officialgspn
and We've got Michelenko, who has been, obviously he's had to inherit the role of Luca Deem when he left a couple of seasons ago.
00:20:55
officialgspn
Micalenko is, you know, more limited more limited. He's also been relatively injury prone. and I actually quite like the look of Christensen when he played against Spurs. I thought he was one of your better one of your better players.
00:21:07
Jake Leatherland
yeah he's young he is really young and this is it his his performance is a bit inconsistent um he he shows different things at different times in terms of sometimes i think he's a more defensive fullback and then he flies forward and and gets some really good crosses and and passes into that final 30s and it's sometimes i'm
00:21:26
Jake Leatherland
find myself sort getting caught going at you what sort of wingback even is he? um yes he's He's inconsistent on his day. He's really good. um ah he's He's very passionate.
00:21:37
Jake Leatherland
He's always very passionate. um scripts Shouting in the goal if he makes a clear and things like that. We've seen numerous times. he yeah He's very passionate. um Is Michelenko injured or got into the intervilla?
00:21:47
officialgspn
He was, he was, ah yeah, he came off ill. I think there's been a couple of plays that we've had ill, um but I think he's back.
00:21:52
Jake Leatherland
Oh, OK. OK.
00:21:55
officialgspn
Whether or not I'd, I don't know which one we'd go for here.
00:22:00
Jake Leatherland
um Yeah, as I say, Christensen's inconsistent. Again, Michaelenko is actually one of the players I ah quite like, i like but um I think Christensen, again, is a bit younger.
00:22:13
Jake Leatherland
So if you if you want someone right now, maybe you go Michaelenko for a bit more consistency. Possibly in the future, I think Christensen has got ah some growth in him. I'm sitting on the fence with this one, to be honest.
00:22:25
officialgspn
We'll go Micalenko, we'll go Micalenko.
00:22:25
Jake Leatherland
i Yeah, um I'm happy with that one.
00:22:28
officialgspn
Center halves, we've got Tarkowski and Michael Key, Connor Cody, and is it Face, Bryce?
00:22:34
Jake Leatherland
ah So, Faz and Akoli, so it's going to, Akoli's coming from, no, no, you're right.
00:22:35
officialgspn
Is that the enemy team?
00:22:38
officialgspn
I'm butchering that name, sorry.
00:22:41
Jake Leatherland
Akoli, yeah, it's coming from Italy. um Cody won't start.
00:22:44
Jake Leatherland
he He didn't start many games for us in the championship. This is Yannick Vestergaard. If I was picking two, my personal pick, Tarkovsky, for sure, and then probably Wout Faz, actually, or...
00:23:00
Jake Leatherland
possibly, Coley again only played a couple of games but I've really liked him in the couple of games we've played to be honest so maybe I will pick him. um Yeah the the two two or three games he's played now I've really liked Coley for us.
00:23:12
officialgspn
Yeah, I probably agree. I'm looking forward to seeing how those, how how you two sent a house phase up. um No pun intended. ah ah Right back ah is ah another struggle for us.
00:23:24
officialgspn
We'll probably be playing Ashley Young. So I'm just going to forfeit that one now. I don't want to speak about Ashley Young. Who is your who's playing right back for you?
00:23:29
Jake Leatherland
ah Well James Justin is our right back who I like and has is suffered some really bad injuries and funny enough I'll now back up right back which is strange to say Ricardo Pereira who ah also suffered some really bad injuries and was played every minute he could last season was our I think our best player last season.

Jake Leatherland
um He went a bit under the radar he was fantastic, dictated the game and when he didn't play we were much poorer side. He hasn't played a minute in the Premier League this season. Steve Cooper for whatever reason clearly doesn't like him as a player.
00:23:58
Jake Leatherland
So it's going to be James Justin. I liked Ashley Young in the past, but for ease um hes ah he's at that age now.
00:24:06
officialgspn
80 years down the line, he can't quite do it, can he?
00:24:06
Jake Leatherland
So yeah, James Justin.
00:24:09
Jake Leatherland
Yeah, I think I will definitely go for James Justin in that role.
00:24:13
officialgspn
And then we've got two centuries of midfield players. I liked Tim Irrigbunham. If it was me, I'd probably go with Irrigbunham and I like Winx. I think he's got, I think this season he's got a,
00:24:25
officialgspn
um I think he's got a chance to show that he's, he's's he's, he's, he's tailor made for the Premier League. I thought, thought it was actually quite a good buy from you last season. Um, so I'd probably go with those two, I think.
00:24:35
Jake Leatherland
yeah i think i'm happy with those two gay um i would have picked him i guess from an outside perspective i would have put him in but i ah ira irabunum i hope i've i've not too completely booked it um yeah i really like the look of him in the in the bits that i've got to see him and because i assumed in the summer he was one of those signings just for psr reasons and then i watched him play i went
00:24:44
officialgspn
Yeah. Are you done well?
00:24:55
officialgspn
That's what I thought.
00:24:57
Jake Leatherland
And now actually fair play, did this guy can really play and ah he could be some player potentially with with his height and and the way he gets around the pitch and and he can he can really play.
00:25:08
officialgspn
And then I think I'm going to give you both wingers. I'd say McNeil is, he's had a, to be fair to him actually, he's had a decent start. um yeah Maybe I'm doing with this service. I ah just, i I struggle with our wingers. I really do. They, they, they aren't,
00:25:26
officialgspn
ah similar to Not similar, sorry, to yours. Yours are proper wingers, whereas ours are some almost in inside forwards.
00:25:33
officialgspn
They're not running down the wing, so as McNeil does a bit, but there's no pace there.
00:25:37
Jake Leatherland
Yeah, where where does Undie play? Like where does he play?
00:25:40
officialgspn
I'd like to see him. Obviously, he e predominantly has played on the dash on the left.
00:25:45
officialgspn
um And McNeil actually has been behind the striker, but I would prefer to see him die behind them Calvert-Lewin.
00:25:50
Jake Leatherland
Oh, okay.
00:25:54
Jake Leatherland
If we put Undie as the number 10, I would be quite happy with that. And then, yeah, I guess
00:26:02
Jake Leatherland
Yeah he's strange with me saying that the wingers are going to end up being Mavadini and Fattawi from Leicester when actually I think on Saturday we're going to see Jordan Iu and Mavadini which actually again it was a combined 11 I wouldn't have a problem with Iu I certainly really criticized him and was not the player I thought he was until I saw him play and he's actually
00:26:19
officialgspn
Really? Because whenever I've watched him play for Palace, I've really enjoyed him.
00:26:23
Jake Leatherland
Yeah, I was really critical. I'm going to be honest, I think I totally misread him and I'll hold my hands up. I think I was really, really wrong about him. The second I saw him play, even in a cup game against Tram here, and it was little things like his work rate, which I knew about, but his attitude, his first touch, he's holding off big strong League Two centre backs.
00:26:44
Jake Leatherland
um So whether they're quick or not, it wasn't about that. It was, it was elements that I didn't think he had to his game, but his attitude's first class. Um, and he genuinely holds the ball up so well from wide positions. So yeah, are you? And Mavridini is probably actually the two I'd pick right now for Tahoe. Hopefully by the end of the season, and if he can get the opportunities again, he could, he could be talked about, I really think by some much bigger clubs because he's got a big ceiling. Um, it's just so far this season, he hasn't quite taking these opportunities yet.
00:27:16
officialgspn

Are we having Vardy or are we having Calvert Lewin? I think Vardy.
00:27:49
Jake Leatherland
I can't knock back Jamie Vardy.
00:27:49
officialgspn
I think Vardy.
00:27:54
Jake Leatherland
ah he's just He said it earlier and he's just relentless. Every time he gets written off by you by me, I've written him off at the different points and been really harsh. I love him, but um I really thought he was going to struggle this year and he scored two goals in the first four games.
00:28:09
Jake Leatherland
I didn't see that coming. um i should I should learn to just back him no matter what, really. like yeah he He seems almost timeless, so and Cara Lewin, to be honest, has started the season well himself, though, so um it's it's not an easy decision because Cara Lewin scored goals himself, but yeah Jamie Bardy is just something different.
00:28:30
officialgspn
is yeah um And just before we finish, can I get a score prediction?
Score Predictions for Upcoming Match
00:28:34
Jake Leatherland
um but Every one I've done of this, so I've gone for a 1-1 in in every every prediction, which ah based on our really tight games, possibly ah wouldn't be the worst prediction, but I'm going to go for it a-1 win for Leicester or 3-2. I think there'll be goals in the game. 3-2, based on your last two games, probably isn't a bad prediction either, but yeah, I think there'll be goals.
00:29:00
officialgspn
Yeah, me too. I think you'll love you'll have a lot to the ball. You'll have plenty of chances. I think we'll we'll give up a load of chances, but I think we may well get you on the counter um if but Neil gets his ah running boots on. i Yeah, I think there'll be goals in it. I think I really, really would like to see us get a clean sheet um after the last couple of games you want us. No nonsense, get the job done, but I ah can't see it. so I'll go for a, I'll go for a, I've actually been quite audacious with all of these.
00:29:27
Jake Leatherland
I like it.
00:29:28
officialgspn
I'm going to go for a 3-1 Everton. Calvert Lewin's going to get two and I think Mick Kegge, Michael Kean will get one, but I think it'll be a really good game and actually I'm really looking forward to it. We'll see.
00:29:39
Jake Leatherland
Yeah, Michael, Michael King's one of the, I think he's the only player, I might be wrong here, that's played for the other team because he was online with us a long, long time ago when we were the championship.
00:29:49
Jake Leatherland
Yeah. There'll be some listening that hopefully won't note that because he was saying so long ago, but he was really good for us. But yeah, as I say, I had a quick look through the teams and had a think and I couldn't spot anyone other than him that I could think about had played, that was still playing, I should say in the teams that played for the other one, but as i say ah there might be someone out there that that can prove me wrong on that and i've missed maybe i've missed a really obvious one hopefully
00:30:13
officialgspn
Yeah, if someone someone who's listening can um can find I will um I'll send you 5000 pounds. How about that? and ah No, well, yeah, I'm sure there may be one.
00:30:23
Jake Leatherland
i'm not wrong
00:30:26
officialgspn
But um yeah, that's
Conclusion and Teaser for Next Episode
00:30:28
officialgspn
ah that's it. Jake, thank you very much for coming on. I've i've learned a lot about about Leicester. And then when I go to the ground, and I actually think it'll be ah I think it'll be a cracker.
00:30:37
Jake Leatherland
Yeah, hopefully you you enjoy the ground and and yeah um have a as you say his first time come to lesson and coming to the ground. yeah so um Hopefully it's a good experience for you, apart from the game and the result, because we're desperate for points.
00:30:50
officialgspn
