Ep. 0024 | Healing Through Play

S2 E24 · The GR8TNESS Router
Avatar
2 Plays3 seconds ago

What if healing wasn't something you had to earn—but something you could experience through movement, creativity, and play?

In Episode 0024 of The GR8TNESS Router, Zena C. welcomes longtime friend, creative healer, and founder Michelle "Meesh the Great" Flowers for an honest conversation about transformation, grief, somatic healing, authenticity, and what it means to truly return to yourself.

After navigating profound personal loss, health challenges, and seasons of reinvention, Meesh shares how movement became more than exercise—it became medicine. Through Reiki, somatic practices, intentional play, and creative expression, she has developed experiences that help others reconnect with themselves in ways that feel accessible, joyful, and deeply restorative.

Together, Zena and Meesh explore the relationship between healing and creativity, why authenticity matters more than performance, and how choosing yourself often begins with simply giving yourself permission to feel.

If you've ever felt disconnected from yourself, stuck in survival mode, or wondered whether healing could look different than you imagined, this conversation offers both encouragement and practical perspective.

Today's guest is Michelle Misch, the great but flowers. And I love her on so many levels that I don't even think words could truly express. but I am going to try. Michelle Miesch, the great flowers is a creative healer and experienced curator whose work lives at the intersection of artistry, self-discovery and transformation through practices such as Reiki, somatic healing, creative expression and immersive

Creating Healing Spaces

experiences. She creates spaces that encourage people to reconnect with themselves, embrace their journeys and explore healing in ways that feel both meaningful and accessible.
00:01:14
Speaker
What I admire most about Mish is not simply what she does, but how she has continued to evolve. Since we've known each other, I've watched her move through many seasons as a photographer, artist, jeweler, paralegal, creative strategist, and now a trauma-informed, Reiki master and somatic activated healer.

Michelle's Journey Through Challenges

00:01:36
Speaker
Through each chapter, her creativity has remained constant. serving as both a tool for expression and a pathway towards healing. Misha's own journey, including overcoming significant health challenges and pursuing alternative paths towards wellness and self-discovery, has shaped the work she shares with others today. She brings a unique perspective rooted in resilience, curiosity, compassion,
00:02:01
Speaker
and a willingness to explore what is possible when we give ourselves permission to grow.

Impact of Michelle's Work

00:02:07

I'm excited to share this conversation because Mish is one of the most creative people I know. And every time we connect, I leave with a new perspective, a deeper question, or a renewed appreciation for the many ways healing can show up in our lives. Please, please, please join me in welcoming Mish the Great.
00:02:26
Speaker

00:02:46
Speaker
um I'm always down just because you're very selective with who you share your energy with. And to be someone who you just like, look, I'm i'm coming to scoop you. Sis, you need a break. Sis, I need you just as much you need me. I'm coming. I love you so much. And I'm so grateful that you agreed to join me on this router conversation. me see the stage.
00:03:09
Speaker
Thank you. Thank you. yeah you Yes. Look, I had to toot your horn this whole time. I'm going to be, he I'm going to be, no, I'm just like, I'm going to be giving you flower after flower, Miss Flowers. i appreciate you. I appreciate you.
00:03:26
Speaker
I really appreciate you. So I like to start with a couple of icebreakers. And this one, I'm a little, i don't know how you're going to respond, but I'm interested in what the response is going

Dream Conversation: Queen Latifah

00:03:40
Speaker
to be. Okay.
00:03:41
Speaker
Bring it. If you could have a candid, unfiltered conversation with any historical figure, who would it be and why? Historical figure.
00:03:56
Speaker
Yes. Who would it be? And why? historical figure. Yes. A historical figure.
00:04:08
Speaker
Who would it be?
00:04:11
Speaker
Ooh. You stumped because i don't think about that. Okay. That's what i'm saying. i was I felt like I was going a little far, far-fetched. So let me ask you this. let's let's Let's bring it in some. Instead of it being historical, let's let's do let's do monumental.
00:04:31
Speaker
if you could If you could have a unfiltered

Unexpected Skills: Creating Mystical Gemini

00:04:34
Speaker
and candid conversation with anyone, would it be?
00:04:43
Speaker
who You know who who I think it would be fascinating to have a conversation with? Queen Latifah. Thank you. are A private person like myself, yet they've been showing up year after year.
00:05:01
Speaker
no one really knows much about them, but yet they are deeply respected and

Authenticity and Real Connections

00:05:08
Speaker
people still want to work with them. People are still curious about them after all of this time.
00:05:14
Speaker
And they're still being invited to many different types of tables right across the board. I'm like, I would love to have a conversation with them. I can totally see you sitting down for a cup of tea with Queen Latifah. I can see it.
00:05:32
Speaker
i can i I never would have thought that that would have come out of your mouth, but now that it has come out of your mouth, i'm like, you know what? Absolutely. i could I would want to be a fly on that wall because the two of y'all in a conversation, baby That would be amazing. Okay. I'm here for it I like it All right. All right. All right.
00:05:54
Speaker
So here's my other icebreaker and then we'll hop into my actual questions. Okay. All right. So you've been a photographer, an artist, a jeweler, a strategist, and a healer. You've been a healer for a while. What is the most random skill that you've picked up that people would never guess about you?
00:06:16
Speaker
Dig in that bag, baby. ah I'd say my current thing that I have been pushing out just because people have been harassing me off of the strength that I smell good.
00:06:28
Speaker
So I curated my own fragrance she called the Mystical Gemini. And that is not something that i anyone expected when they say, what do you have on? and I'm like, I made it. And they're like,
00:06:46
Speaker
What you mean? What you mean made it? What you mean made it? How can I get it? I want it. You smell good. How can You smell good. Yeah. So I think that's- I'm here for that. I think that's the most- So now we have so now we have ah we have a ah scent connoisseur in the mix of everything else now.
00:07:05
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. I was about to go personal because I know you on different levels, but it makes so much sense to me that you would produce Like, It's I've the process.
00:07:15
Speaker
you. got got got you. you. got you. got you. I you. got you. got got got you. I got you. you. I got you. got you. I got got got you.
00:07:28
Speaker
got you. got I you. you. you. got you. got I got you. I got you. got you. I you. you. got got you. got you. Okay, mystical Gemini. I'm here for it. All right. All right. All right. All right. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for the icebreaker. I think that we are a little warmed up. You ready to hop into my questions now? Yeah, what you got?
00:07:48
Speaker
All right. All right. All right. So we're sharing an audience. And what I like to do is walk people through the journey towards greatness, because there's been a lot of ups and downs in all of our lives, but I don't think that we... collectively recognize that we all are in whirlpools on a regular basis. And sometimes, unfortunately, it's helpful to hear of other people's whirlpools and how they were able to swim out of those or out of the rip currents, whatever that may whatever that may be, the tornado, the storm, whatever whatever it may be, it's always helpful to hear that it's even possible. So I'm excited to hop in.
00:08:26
Speaker
Let's talk about the purpose behind

Discovering the Healing Path

00:08:28
Speaker
your work. I like to call this the router moments, you know, because we're on the greatness router. oh If you had to pinpoint the moment you knew what you're doing, what that this trauma infused moment,
00:08:41
Speaker
ah healing that you are that you are um exuding now, that you're offering. if you had to If you had to pinpoint the moment you knew this was your calling, could you do so? Can you pinpoint when you knew that this was what you needed to do?
00:08:58
Speaker
I can pinpoint when it shifted within me and I can pinpoint once I offered it when it shifted with others.

Overcoming Grief with Somatic Practices

00:09:09
Speaker
Okay. I can say after I came back from the mountains and I was like 2024 was just a deeply transformational year for me. It was a lot of upheaval. um The years prior, it was a lot as well. But Um, in 2024, when I lost my mom and then I was a part of the hurricane, like I just tapped out, like I was no longer present.
00:09:38
Speaker
just was just deeply in grief and I couldn't really, i couldn't feel like I felt so numb and I was going day to day, um,
00:09:52
Speaker
The only thing literally keeping me alive and waking me up was because I had a puppy. And aside from that, i was just a shell of a person. I couldn't feel. I couldn't access anything.
00:10:09
Speaker
a care. Like, I just felt so heavy and just so broken. and um I, what, music has always been my thing. Music has, and movement is, it just reminds me that I am alive. but Right. But with both of that, also with um the breath work and the intention and the mantra, um I started shifting. I started to return back to myself and be able to just let things go that I need to let go. And then um when I became certified in the practice and I started to offer the shares, like anytime I told people what I did, they were like, you're a somatic practitioner. Oh, I heard about somatics. I'd be curious about it. Oh, my therapist talks about this. You know, um I've been wanting to experience this thing. Right.
00:11:02
Speaker
you know i I can honestly say I hadn't heard about somatic work prior to like me starting to like ah practice it and work with my mentor.
00:11:14
Speaker
um It's just something. I was like, okay, they're moving. And I know that when I'm going through something, I'm moving to kind of like...
00:11:25
Speaker
power up. Okay. Okay. overall So I'm like, okay, this kind of makes sense for me. And I met someone, a therapist that was telling me that like when I'm moving, that's, that's a STEM.
00:11:37
Speaker
And I was like, huh? Okay. And so when I started to, um, dive deeper into the practice. And when I found out, like when I'm moving in a ah repetitive motion and I'm breathing, I'm like letting that shit go that I no longer need to hold on to.
00:11:56
Speaker
Right. So it's my body just coming on board. And so many times when we're going through trauma, we're stuck. We're stuck in a mental loop. We're not moving.
00:12:06
Speaker
ah We're not breathing. But this is like, uh,
00:12:12
Speaker
it's It's a ritual for myself. It is medicine for myself. It is medicine for my soul. It is medicine for my body. It is medicine for my spirit. And

Liberating Class Experiences

00:12:23
Speaker
this is how I'm able to show up.
00:12:25
Speaker
And when i started to teach the classes and people were like, yo yo, I don't know what the heck that was, but I feel And my tracks stop. Like I'm forced to be present. I'm forced to be with myself and also here. And I don't have time to judge myself.
00:12:46
Speaker
I feel fluffy. I feel high, but I didn't smoke. I feel drunk, but I didn't drink. i Okay. do I feel good. You know, I feel good. What is this? When's the next class? And I'm like, okay.
00:13:02
Speaker
Like, hold up. This takes quite a bit of energy. So that's doing join the join the mailing list. You'll you'll be the first yeah to know. Oh, man. I love that.
00:13:15
Speaker
love that all of this stems, for lack of better word, from your own experience and from your own your own opportunity. And now you're you're literally just sharing your tool or your toolkit or your tool book or... your playbook with people.
00:13:33
Speaker
And it's working. like I've seen the reviews and it's working. And I love that for you. And I'm glad that you have been able to recognize your your why and recognize that that is what's going to keep you going. The fact that you have been able to move from stagnant to flow And you know that it's possible for others as well. So that's that's really dope. And I'm grateful for you for believing and owning that so that you can create that space for other people. So super dope of you, sis.
00:14:04
Speaker
Super dope. Thank you. Of course. Look, I told you I'm resizing all conversations. Let's talk a lot of pinpoint. etc Was there ever a time when you almost chose a different path?
00:14:20
Speaker
so many paths. Like i was explaining this to someone earlier, um, how in my life I've been pushed in all these different directions and it never quite felt like my thing.
00:14:34
Speaker
It's like I was doing this thing, but there was always some type of apprehension about doing the thing. So like when it's time for me to actually do a thing, it really has to be a full body. Yes. For me. And within somatics, I find that it is a full body. Yes, it it's like, oh, yeah, for sure.
00:14:53
Speaker
Unless it's something that I deem that's going to be unsafe. um I won't do that. But when it comes to this work and the play and just the the feeling like I can anticipate what I'm going to feel like and how other people are going to feel, I'm like, oh, this is the thing.
00:15:15
Speaker
You know, yes. Yes. And I would like to also put on the docket and on on wax that even the events that you curate, they are designed they are designed and rooted in being sober.
00:15:31
Speaker
Yeah, they are. and And I love the fact that you are encouraging people to show up as they are, who they are, and that that is enough and that is acceptable. And you can go up from where you are. And I think that that's a beautiful thing that that many people don't recognize how, one, how difficult that can be. I completely understand. And I'm never going to judge anybody and their journeys. Like that's just not my in my job description. But for you to... To buckle down and set the parameter or set the boundary, a healthy boundary that I believe in you so much that I am encouraging you to show up as your current self, as you are without the the intoxicants. Is that a word? The intoxications, the toxicants. the toxic behavior. Look, look at me making up words. Y'all know what I meant. But i I love that. And I wanted to make sure, i know that was the offline conversation that we had, but I think that it's in important for people to recognize that it's okay.
00:16:32
Speaker
it's It's okay to feel the feels, you know, in the in the proper spaces without the additives. So I don't know if you wanted to say anything in addition to that, but I just wanted to give you additional flowers from from that previous conversation that we had.
00:16:49
Speaker
Well, thank you. um I think it is important. And I know it's it's starting to become a little bit more popular where they're having sober events because people are like, well, I don't want to get fucked up all the time to to be present.
00:17:06
Speaker
cause I'm still not connecting or I'm connecting with the wrong people that don't really like like that. Cause when I'm sober, I hate you, you know, mother
00:17:17
Speaker
I can tolerate you Not when B like, I always tell people if it is friendship, it is, if it's dating, if it's love, if it's connecting in any aspect, if I have to be inebriated to be around you,
00:17:35
Speaker
ah You're not the person for me. I can't be myself. so hu hu I respect that.

Sober Events and Authenticity

00:17:42
Speaker
It ain't that. I respect that. ain't for me. I think it takes a strong person to get and stand on business in that route, but I respect that that is that is the the baseline for for you and for what you curate. So I'm i'm here for it. All right.
00:17:59
Speaker
Well, on that note, let's talk about resilience and process.

Drive and Motivation

00:18:03
Speaker
So what keeps you in the game when things aren't going smoothly? What keeps you going? These bills got to be paid. No. um
00:18:17
Speaker
Man. Hashtag no lie detected. Okay. Bills are going to keep going. Cue the Destiny Child song. Cue it now. Bills, bills, bills. Nails, nails, nails. Right. No, but actually, honestly, there are times where nothing may come in, but it's like have to live. have to keep on going. Like I've seen who I've been. I've seen my family members suffer and not be able to do things. And I'm like, I have breath on my body. I got to keep going until these wills fall off.
00:18:55
Speaker
And I'm still probably going to still be doing something. You're going get some new wheels. I'm going get some new wheels. Like, so my pivot from even photography, like ah from going from photography to even um leaning more into my other creative practices was i got injured in a car accident and it tore my shoulder and I couldn't carry my camera equipment.
00:19:18
Speaker
And that forced me to be still, but also tap into my other toolkits where jewelry came into And in order for me to like not be feeling the pain because I was angry, i was sad, i was going through other personal things where it was a lot of of transformation needed, i was able to essentially learn to
00:19:47
Speaker
transmute my grievances through making my jewelry. Okay, I'll come in. Every bead, every bead with an intention to let that shit go that I no longer needed to hold on to.
00:20:00
Speaker
And so that forced me to get up and do the thing because I needed to not hold it anymore. I love, I love, it's the epiphany for me.
00:20:13
Speaker
It's the epiphany through process for me. um Could it have been a little nicer? Absolutely. Could could we it not have been as forceful? Absolutely. But I feel like we collectively, not just you, not me pointing fingers back, pointing fingers at you, but I think we collectively end up in spaces where we are are forced to change. Like, I don't think a caterpillar actually wants to turn into a butterfly. I think that that's a force, a force of nature that just has to happen. So i kudos to you. i mean, i'm I'm all the way here for it.
00:20:46
Speaker
I respect. I respect. who who I'm not yucking anyone's yum, because if you love hurting, if you if you're a sadist, no, a masochist, masochist like pain, if you like the pain they want to sit in it in that way.
00:21:01
Speaker
I'm not. I'm not. I'm not. So it's these GRE words for me.
00:21:10
Speaker
it it's the It's the GRE. I can't even say that those are SAT words. It's the GRE words for me that I'm just sitting here like, wait, oh wait, ah where's the dictionary, please?
00:21:21
Speaker
Bring me a dictionary. No, I feel you though. I feel you. ah Once again, i don't think you are a judgmental person. I think you you actually accept people for who they are when they show you exactly who they are. Now, I don't think you have a a tolerance for people who are pretending. Mm-hmm.
00:21:41
Speaker
to be what they are not. um But I think that you have a huge tolerance for recognizing like, oh, this is just this is just how you were created. oh okay. Well, we we just gonna have to deal with this. And I love that about you because you're just so open to accepting people for who they are while also challenging them to be like, look, you know, you could be greater than this, this right? Like, you know, this is just like a level and you can level up if you if you wanted to.
00:22:10
Speaker
Why did you say, have you considered? Or i don't even tell people, hey, you got to change. You can't be around. That's not my vibe. That's never. It's like, I'm not trying to change you. I'm just trying to understand you. So who are you?
00:22:24
Speaker
I don't need a performance. That's when I'm bothered. yeah If you're coming to me with a performance, I'm like, yeah, that's not. I can't do anything with that.
00:22:36
Speaker
okay We're not cosplaying here. Not with this. Not cosplaying. my goodness. We're not cosplaying here. i am tickled. All right. what No, I just like your cosplay. But I've also seen you go out and cosplay and being like, oh, I can see how somebody's going to take this and run the other way. Like, I I love what you're saying. That's all I'm saying. That's that's my point. Like, we not cosplaying, but we can go cosplay if you want to.
00:23:04
Speaker
We can. But it's it's all about intention. Like, I desire authentic connections.
00:23:13
Speaker
And the spaces that I curate are you're authentically connecting with yourself. If it is something where you're connecting with the community, you're authentically connecting with the community or with whatever is in front of you.
00:23:28
Speaker
You are present. It is not a cosplay. If it is a cosplay, it's because it is the intention to be so. And it's supposed to be. It's supposed to be.
00:23:38
Speaker
But this is not what that is. Like, I want you to be you. Who are you?
00:23:46
Speaker
it's It's the stern face for me that follow. Who are you? Who are you? Like, seriously.
00:23:54
Speaker
I love it. Okay. All right. Let's talk about, so we just had our our router moment. those Those were the roundabout ways, how we got to where we are in this present day. Let's talk about the application and what people can take away from your life lessons. what what lessons you've learned, either the easy way or the hard way, and how they can take that and apply those theyll apply that gold. Because you just described the process of making gold and alchemy and transmutation. So going through that, let's talk about lessons for others.
00:24:27
Speaker
What is one mindset shift or practice that has helped you to succeed?
00:24:34
Speaker
Blink. Blink, blink. So i rise, I have a whole rising ritual um that has helped me get up, get out, focus, and that play.
00:24:49
Speaker
So allowing mar myself to play before the world can tell me who I am or what I need to do allowing myself the space to just be myself.
00:25:06
Speaker
And I play. I play all day. I like to play. People see my face and think I'm this very serious, stern person. I'm not. but you ain't about to have access to to that version of myself.
00:25:22
Speaker
Um, so just allowing myself to be into play, that has helped me greatly in just nurturing my inner being. So when I'm outside and people are telling me all the things or telling me who I am and who I'm supposed to be, I still have that piece for me. And I'm like, no, Mishu know you.
00:25:49
Speaker
love that. stop laughing. I love the that your last statement, me. I know me. I know me. I love me. like I don't think collectively people spend enough time falling in love with themselves.
00:26:04
Speaker
um And to take that a step further or even a step before that, I don't think people take the time to get to know themselves, like what they like and what they don't like and and become comfortable with those elements of themselves. So I love that...
00:26:20
Speaker
it you you have forced yourself to really be like, you know what? I live in this skin. I live in this body. I live in this shell. And I need to figure out what it is about this, who it is, what it is, what it wants, what it doesn't want, so that I can stand on business when someone is approaching me that has no idea because they've never walked a day in my shoes. I love that.
00:26:44
Speaker
And I appreciate that about you. Thank you. Flower. Flower. It's me. Thank you for the flower.
00:26:55
Speaker
Literally. I'm beside you Yeah. Oh my gosh. Girl. Not that not this...
00:27:05
Speaker
Now she just pulled out this ah this magic wand that she she uses when she goes to do her tap to paste, which is hilariously her. And shout out to wherever you found that, because that is absolutely amazing. It's giving fairly odd parents, though.
00:27:23
Speaker
Sir Will Black Market made it. So it has a retractable arm. So you can go whoop. um and i'm done here I do not. Anyway. um All right.
00:27:38
Speaker
I love that. Thank you for that lesson. um Set the tone for your day. that's That's pretty much what she said. Spend some time with yourself. Recognize that you deserve to wake up and be happy and content with who you are. Enjoy that and carry that throughout your day. That's what that's what you said, right? I picked up what you said.
00:27:58
Speaker
Yeah. Just allow yourself to be who you are, how you are, without anything rushing you. And like I said, I have a puppy that I have to wake up to to do the things with. And still, I don't let him bully me.
00:28:13
Speaker
This is a collaboration. This is a collaboration. We are collaborating. You ain't about to bully me, little sir. I am so tickled. All right.
00:28:24
Speaker
So let's talk about your process. How has your thinking evolved as you've advanced?
00:28:34
Speaker
My thinking, so I've always been a scientist and always been curious about how things work and just allowing myself to continue to think and to explore and to dive deeper, giving myself that grace, like,
00:28:55
Speaker
I already know there's like a hundred tabs open in my brain right now, but I am choosing to be present with you right now. And just focus on this, this, the singular tab without worrying about what the other tabs are.
00:29:10
Speaker
So that's big because before, you know, I have all this stuff and just the mental chatter would, would kind of stop me in my tracks, but I'm here.
00:29:22
Speaker
Like even choosing, to just focus on the solo thing. Okay. I respect that. That works for a it works for me. i'm I'm glad you found what works for you. And hopefully our listeners can hear the um the authenticity in your voice and in your tone and and really recognize like, oh, like,

she she lives by this. like she's She's speaking what she's what she does. like this is This is truly activated. so I'm here for it. All right. so um What's next for you? how can How can listeners support

Future Endeavors and Releases

00:30:02
Speaker
your journey? What do you have coming down the pipeline? Okay. What have coming up? What do you have coming down the pipeline?
00:30:10
Speaker
Currently, if you want to smell like me, i have the Missha the Great Fragrance. Well, the Mystical Gemini what month are we in we are in it's june currently okay we're in june june uh 12 i'm speaking in detroit at a jewelry conference um
00:30:35
Speaker
And let's see, August, I'll be at a Shibari retreat. Oh yeah, i do Shibari as well. That's another. Not, oh yeah, I do Shibari. Oh, and then go look it up. I do Shibari. Did you want to explain what Shibari is?
00:30:53
Speaker
No, that's that's that's that's going down the pipeline. you know i know anyone who has explored my my social media sees ah different aspects of different things that I do.
00:31:08
Speaker
um i have some play stuff coming up soon, play collaborations with dates that will be ah sometime in the summer.
00:31:22
Speaker
um But yeah, I'm just looking of looking forward to doing more and more of Misha activities. Anything that I do, that's a Misha activity. Anything that I delight in, that is a Misha activity.
00:31:36
Speaker
I love that. And I do want to apologize if y'all hear dogs barking in the background. They are having a ball outside. But um I just want to to really, I want to rope that in. Because so what y'all don't know is that Misha and I actually work together on on several creator fronts. um She is the, it which is funny to say, because Misha is like the creative person.
00:31:59
Speaker
chaotic, let's do this side of this situation. And I'm like, okay, well, let's let's figure out the logistics of it, which is absolutely hilarious because I feel as though I am in the most balanced way possible, just as chaotic and creative. But I can't in this existence, like we have to, we have to balance each other and we do. And I'm grateful for that. But that being said, since she's not tooting her own horn. So can you tell us a little bit about what your somatic dance floors actually are? Since we we we don't have dates on the books right now. So definitely y'all go and join the, um,
00:32:37
Speaker
the mailing list for that. But let's talk about what is the somatic dance floor? Because there is a possibility for people to host their own private ones or their small group ones if the if the vibe is proper. But what is somatic dance floor? Let's talk about

Healing Through Somatic Dance Floor

00:32:52
Speaker
it.
00:32:52
Speaker
The somatic dance floor is a combination of the different tools that I've collected through my healing journey over the past 10 And um we meet on the dance floor, which is a curated space that is a private space.
00:33:13
Speaker
where we are learning different movements help unlock different emotions and we leave it on the dance floor. So it's a transformational space, which I make a fire playlist or I'm collaborating with a DJ.
00:33:31
Speaker
how We move through breath. and Well, starting with intention, we move with breath, movement, affirmation and a trance state to essentially leave the baggage behind.
00:33:50
Speaker
It's a dance practice. It's a movement practice. It's an intentional space to to be free and explore. It's been dope. The pictures look amazing. I haven't been, haven't had the pleasure of attending one just yet. Just because, you know, life is chaotic and I get but I've seen the pictures and I've seen the reviews and it's some videos. I've seen the videos. You felt the vibe.
00:34:15
Speaker
You know, i you know, I was there a street, right? But, like Um, i I, love this. My, my followup question to that is who exactly is it for? Because I mean, if you're not a dancer, can you still go? If you are like stuck in a space, like, can you still go? Is there a certain prerequisite for these types of, um, activities? Um,
00:34:41
Speaker
It's the desire to move. It's not about dancing. It's not about like technical dancing or having to be a dancer. I've had people who do not feel comfortable in their bodies. I've had people who are professional dancers and they equally come to my class and are like,
00:35:01
Speaker
Yo, that's something I never knew I needed. Like, I feel good in my body. Or, wow I feel sore, but i do this and I work out all the time, but I'm feeling in a way I've never felt before.
00:35:13
Speaker
What is that? Can I have more? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I love that. It's not a show. It's not a TikTok dance. It's not something that you have to perform for.
00:35:28
Speaker
It's not for anyone but you. you're showing up for you and you're leaving it on the dance floor. It's a collective space. i i love I love the entire concept and I'm excited to see them bloom as well as, I told y'all she's not ah tuning her own horn, as well as the play dates that will be coming down the ah the pipeline um as as we curate those as a collab. you know um We have done quite a few things, Mish 2025. didn't make But Mish Day 2025 was really dope. um I think that it's it's literally about to be a thing thing, like especially now that we're putting it on on wax. like Y'all should expect to see what's popping for Mish Day 2027. But Mish Day 2025 was dope with the with the vibes, with the low key, with the soberness of it all. like We were all just chilling and and vibing and getting to know ah community and just enjoying the activity that you had planned. um I don't know if you really want to go into that because each Mish day has been different, but each play date will be different too. So i don't know if you wanted to get into that, but it's literally just filling all the vibes you have of this particular podcast balled up into a play date. And it's an adult play date. So it's not like bring your toddlers, mine don't come.
00:36:56
Speaker
um who would not come I don't, you know, we we, I myself don't have children. However, i people who come running to me are parents because they need some time They need to feel alive. They need to play.
00:37:13
Speaker
They actually need their inner children to have a time, have a moment to just be. They need to feel again. Absolutely. So, yeah. And this is coming from, well, the voice that you hear now, you know coming from me. Like she will come and like snatch me and be like, um girl, I haven't seen you in so long. You're coming. And I'm just like, oh, what? Like, you you know, I have to go cook dinner. Oh, they'll be fine. Peanut butter and jelly. Everybody can have that. Let's go, Zina.
00:37:43
Speaker
and And I'm grateful for you for that, for ah for being so in tune and knowing that, hmm, I haven't seen her for a while. Let me go scoop her. So I'm grateful for you for forcing me. and And this is something that is personal between you and I, but I feel comfortable putting it out on this podcast. So after I had my first son, it wasn't as bad after I had my second one, but after I had my first son, Mish, you were monumental in pulling me out of postpartum.
00:38:10
Speaker
depression Like, I don't know if I full-fledged hit it. I just remember my dad looking at me and me being real irritated. He looked at me and he was just like, I'm just ready for you to come back. And I'm just like, what do you mean? I'm here. Like, I'm here. I'm in the skin. I'm in the flesh. But I really didn't understand. That didn't settle in my mind until... I sat back and started reflecting on how many times you were pulling me forward, how many times you were coming back for me. And I'm just like, girl, let me stay. Just let me stay where I am. And you're just like, nah, we're going here. I'm like, but I don't want to. I don't care what you want. You're coming with me. So i am just grateful that you saw
00:38:49
Speaker
enough love or had enough love in me just sit there and pull me back from, from that brink, whatever may have been on the other side of that. It was comfortable. Don't get me wrong. Like it's giving, um, what is that show? Uh, big mouth when the cat, like when, when the depression comes in and the big cat comes in, like it was real comfortable. I'm not saying that I was like sad and everybody is going to experience it differently, but you recognizing whatever you saw. Cause I didn't think I was, I was oozing that much, uh,
00:39:19
Speaker
go and save her type of type of energy. But I'm just grateful for you. and And I needed to say that to you as well as to the world. I feel like I've said this to you, but I'm not sure. So thank you. And y'all should totally check out one of her events, whether it's it's here on the East Coast or whether she has a West Coast event. Or I mean, who knows? You may go international. We might be doing some retreats elsewhere. I'm here for it. Let's go. Passport stand. Let's go. let Passport ready. We out.
00:39:51
Speaker
I love this. Okay. So um i is there anything that I did not bring up on this podcast that you would like to address or put on the forefront of the ah the conversation on WAX?
00:40:05
Speaker
um I just want to encourage other people to explore, um not just explore what you see on social media. Explore yourself. um Take the time to do the things that light you up.
00:40:22
Speaker
That's what my work is all about. Taking the time to actually tap into yourself aside from what other people expect of you, what other people think of you, even what you think of yourself or your prior self, all that judging.
00:40:38
Speaker
I want you to just have some time to just be with yourself and just learn to love on yourself and just be comfortable with yourself and be confident in yourself and do all the things that you want to do.
00:40:53
Speaker
I love that and I agree. um Not even just coming from you. like I agree with the entire sentiments. I just want people to feel comfortable in the shell or in the spaceship or in the body that they have been gifted. Like see it as a gift and enjoy it. Like take it and run with it. Enhance it how you want enhance it, but keep it like enjoy and recognize it for what it is and how great it is. And then take that in and go be go be amazing with it. So, yeah, I i co-sign. um But I also come co-sign with the messenger. So thank you for sharing that with our audience. And thank you again for sharing a space with me. I have one more question and then I'm go let you go and be great. um What is one thing, public facing, one public facing thing that people don't know about you?
00:41:48
Speaker
Public facing, a private thing that people don't know. But it's still public facing, like you don't mind releasing it to the public. Yeah.
00:42:03
Speaker
So if anyone goes on my social media, they may see pictures or videos of me flowing or even pictures of me, pictures of me, right?
00:42:18
Speaker
I am so introverted. i enjoy being by myself. I do enjoy being around my people. However, my default is to be by myself.
00:42:30
Speaker
I do not enjoy being perceived. Yet, people see me, they say, oh, you're so beautiful, you're so this, you're so that.
00:42:41
Speaker
It can make me uncomfortable, not because I think that I i don't think I'm an ugly person. um i am not a showy person.
00:42:52
Speaker
However, um myself, so I'm going to show up how I show up. And I'm really shy. And people don't understand that when they're like on top of me.
00:43:07
Speaker
And it's just really interesting. It's
00:43:13
Speaker
Not a person that is looking to have a million followers. That's actually really, that that gives me anxiety. Like I can, a lot of my practice is moving through my own anxieties to show up, to be present.
00:43:31
Speaker
So, yeah. No, I ah i agree. you You are very much an introvert. You are very much, I don't want to do that.
00:43:42
Speaker
But at the same time, it's like I'm outside, but I'm outside and I wish I could be outside in my bubble where I'm happy and you can't really see me, but I can see you.
00:43:53
Speaker
And and I get it. I get it. I get the same way in the sense of um I just like to be present, but more of like a fly on the wall. Right.
00:44:05
Speaker
um But no, I agree. Thank you. Thank you for sharing that. So y'all, when, when you roll up on her and she's looking at you like a deer in headlights, I promise you, she's not being rude. It's just, you have literally like just probably startled the, you bubble you popped her bubble. That's what happened. She, she thought she was in this iridescent little glitter filled ball and you came up and pop that. And she realized like, Oh, I'm actually in public. Oh my, my bad.
00:44:35
Speaker
Yeah, I'm here. Like, I can literally roll anywhere by myself and be fine. It's when people come and assert themselves into that bubble. i'm just like, what in the world?
00:44:51
Speaker
No, facts, big facts. Okay. All right. Well, thank you for sharing that with us. And, and y'all, so, you so y'all know, like Misha Gray is like that, but Misha Gray also likes her space.
