What is up, goal line listeners? It is a glorious Labor Day Monday. It's time for the season premiere, year three of the goal line. Jordan, what's going on, dude?
00:00:25
Speaker
Yeah, we just ah came off a really good college football weekend, and we are upon week one of NFL. So, yeah, man, good times all around here. This is the second podcast in less than 24 hours for me and Jordan. for I know we got a lot of wrestling fans on the feed also, man. If you want to check it out, we gave our instant review of WWE's Clash in Paris yesterday afternoon. So check that out.

Arlington Tigers and Upcoming Challenges

00:00:54
Speaker
It's week one of the NFL. We have the official opening week of college football in the book. So a lot of stuff to discuss.
00:01:00
Speaker
ah We'll start it off with ah the update on the Arlington eight u Tigers, man. don't know, dude. i've been the The phrase that kept coming to mind over and over after the dust settled Saturday morning was belt to ass. Jordan, what were you thinking, man, when you got that that picture and you text forty four zero scoreboard?
00:01:17
Speaker
I mean, I'm not i'm not surprised. Like, Bretton, Swaggy, just don't lose at any sports, apparently. Yeah. We got dude his buddy, Jameson, that stayed stayed the night with a Saturday night man for a sleepover. They were tag team partners.
00:01:32
Speaker
They were teammates, man, last football season and then carried over basketball. Between the two of them, across two different sports, they got a 24-game winning streak going right now, man. So never lost as teammates. So we're going to see how long we keep that We got a suspiciously tough game this weekend, man. We're playing a team that's coming in 0-2.
00:01:51
Speaker
but they lost against the other two undefeated teams in the league, and they were one-score games, both of them. So, you know, they're coming in desperation mode, dude. They're coming into our house. um But I think it's going to be, you know, the boys got be ready to go because this team's going to be emptying out the playbook. Yeah.
00:02:07
Speaker
We're busting out entrance music this week too, man. Like I said, i told Jordan right now, the leader in the clubhouse is 3-6 Mafia. Who run it, man? I just, I think that'd be a good way to set the tone. This is a private school that's coming in to play us. Yeah.

College Football Evolution

00:02:19
Speaker
Yeah, make sure you use the edited version because it is you, so I wouldn't put it past you. all right, man. yeah You ready to get into see ah some big boy football talk? Let's do it.
00:02:38
Speaker
All right. Well, just like every week, what we're going to start with college football. And just like every week, ah my well-being hangs in the balance over a stupid football game played by 18-year-olds. But here we go. Nebraska beat Cincinnati on Thursday night, twenty to seventeen I mean... it was the most Nebraska game. Yeah, it was so on brand for you know Nebraska football, really going back, I'd say, the last decade, huh?
00:03:04
Speaker
Dude, here's the one thing, though. You say that, but like as after the dust settles, it was not the most Nebraska game ever because usually that's the game that they lose. like When it comes down to a one-score game, they usually do not win those games. so yeah Was it the prettiest thing ever? Absolutely not, but...
00:03:21
Speaker
Dude, you just got to survive each week in college. I mean, watching some of the games I watched this weekend, it's like, dude, you know what? They're 1-0 and a lot of teams are not 1-0. So this was an ugly weekend of football. Week one in college football has really changed forever now with the transfer portal and NIL and all that There's only new players to integrate on that first And there's no preseason in college, you You can tell, too. Like, lot of teams look like they'd never played together because they haven't. I mean, practice is one thing, but when you get into a game setting and, again, week one you're coming out, you don't know what the other team's going to look like either. There ain't no game film on what their offense is going to look like, what defense they're going to play.
00:04:02
Speaker
Like, you can go off what the coach normally does, but you still have never seen those players play together. So, all things considered, it was a win, and I mean, that's really all I'm going to take for this from it this week. So.
00:04:15
Speaker
Yeah, you made a good point, man. I think we saw something similar in that Texas-Ohio State game. dud i don't think I'm not making any big sweeping conclusions about either team off week one. Obviously, if Texas looks flat again like that in week two and Arch Manning's underwhelming, we'll start to hit the panic button.
00:04:30
Speaker
But i thought even Ohio State did enough to come away with the win. I thought both teams looked kind of unimpressive. I didn't think they looked like two of the top three college football teams in the nation. Yeah, I mean, again, you're going to run into that with week one. And, like, sometimes and this is why you never overreact to to one week, whether it's now or whenever. Like, dude, shit happens in college football. ball I mean, any given Saturday, someone can win. So, um speaking of winning, Tennessee picked up a big victory. they did look good, dude. Yeah, they looked really good. Yeah.
00:05:01
Speaker
how bad is nico iamaliava looking man like what uh josh heupel's looking like a genius right now obviously nico struggled big time on saturday night and uh ucla got dusted on some late night action and joey aguilar looked like the real deal man he that that deep post he hit for the touchdown was freaking beautiful he was in command like ah you know i obviously you say not to make too many reactions i can tell you right now dude expectations here in the volunteer state are sky high after what we saw saturday it wasn't Syracuse, right? But you know still, it's ah that's a big conference team, and they went out and handled business, man. I thought the offense looked really, really good, and you know it was accurate on deep balls, dude. Obviously, Nico can throw the ball 300 yards, but dude, it was a shotgun blast, man. It was freaking 50-50 if he was ever going to complete those passes, dude. Joey Aguilar looked way more accurate, and obviously, I don't think he's got the top-end potential Nico does, but I was very, very happy with what I saw out of him Saturday.
00:05:54
Speaker
and Somebody said Nico had to have been watching the Tennessee highlights on Sunday morning, crying and kicking his pillow. Like, dude, he did not look good either. Nico did not look good at all Saturday night. He was sailing passes and...
00:06:10
Speaker
I don't know what the hell he was thinking, honestly. I mean, Tennessee has a really good football team. I still don't think they're going to be as good as last year, but they have a really good team. No, lost too much talent on defense and the skill players, man. But they're going to be competitive. Nobody's going to be excited when they see them coming up on the schedule.
00:06:27
Speaker
I got to watch out for this year in college, man. I think he's really going to make a name for himself. Deshaun Bishop, dude. Didn't get that much playing time last year, but if you were a ah college football video game player, you know this guy was kind of hidden on the Tennessee depth chart. Had like a 95 speed and like a 97 in truck rating, and he showed it on a Saturday, dude. He was a straight that last drive right before halftime, he was straight-up bowling ball going down the field, just trucking people, outrunning people. And the cool thing is zero drip, bro. No wristbands, no gloves, dude. He's out there with no gloves, no wristbands. He's bare arms out there just freaking
00:06:59
Speaker
manhandling people, man. So a little bit of a throwback, but yeah, keep, keep the Sean Bishop. That's a name to watch this year for, for the balls. um Okay. Let's, let's talk about the Texas and Ohio state game a little bit. I know you had briefly touched on it. Yeah, ah dude. I don't know what I think about either one of these teams coming out of Saturday. Obviously I think both these teams are still really good.
00:07:22
Speaker
Ohio State, man, they just switch quarterbacks every season and it's it always starts off slow. I think Ohio State's going one of the best teams in the country by the end of the season, obviously. i think Texas will be there too.
00:07:34
Speaker
Dude, there was a lot of plays where I was watching Arch that that dude just does not look comfortable at all sitting in the pocket. Like his first inclination is to get outside the pocket or take off and run and and You can feel the pressure, right? Obviously, we don't we don't know what the calls are in the huddle, if there was something happening with the offense, but it seemed just watching it, they seemed tight. you know i mean it felt like ah It felt like a prize fight in boxing where you know the first two rounds, they're really just feeling each other out, and it seemed like they never got out of that mode, man. You saw that Texas started to loosen up the reins a little bit and attack a little bit more during the fourth quarter, and you saw them make a run at it, but obviously, they just couple came up a couple plays short there at the end from really having a chance to go back and
00:08:13
Speaker
And when send it descended to OT, but I agree with you, man, I, uh, I'm following this one under, you know, just a rough week one in Arches defense. That's a tremendously difficult place to open up on the road, uh, against the defending national champs. Um, but I'm going wait and see how he does week two, man, before I, uh, I start selling off any stock, but yeah, I agree. It was underwhelming. If you,
00:08:32
Speaker
took the names off the back of the jerseys and had somebody just drop in from outer space to watch that game and asked him which one of these guys is the five-star most hyped QB ever, I don't think you'd be able to tell which one out of him and Julian saying on Saturday.
00:08:45
Speaker
Yeah. um Let's hit on some

Alabama and Clemson's Struggles

00:08:48
Speaker
other games. I did not put it in show notes, but let's talk about the Alabama-Florida State game a little bit. Dude, Alabama is in trouble, man.
00:08:56
Speaker
Dude, they looked undisciplined. There's clips off of the internet of players jogging on the field, right? like That's the kind of shit that like if if we see it, the guy's coming off, man. right like I tell all the kids all the time, dude, we got parents in the stand to watch the games. If you want to just watch, you get out from the sidelines. going get the kids that are hustling.
00:09:11
Speaker
It just, dude, not to be... you know dropping praise at the altar of Nick Saban, but it just did not look like Alabama football, man. like These guys have always been so well coached. They were the Patriots of college football, right? Always did the right things, always hustling, always making the smart plays, and they just looked lazy out there, man. They really looked lazy.
00:09:29
Speaker
Credit to Florida State, dude. Florida State came out fired up. I don't think anybody gave them a shot, man. The pregame prognosticators were saying it'd be a win for Florida State if they just keep it competitive. Florida State went out there and handled business. I think final score was 31-17. It was not that close. no yeah that was That was a freaking blowout, man. Florida State dominated them.
00:09:46
Speaker
Love to see it. Me and Jordan were talking right before the show, dude. Obviously, for people our age, man, there's always a lot of nostalgia for Florida State to be some real ass kickers out there. And I liked what I saw. Yeah, so here's the thing for Alabama at this point. So they're 5-5 in their last 10 games. I don't remember the last time you could ever said that about Alabama. Maybe Nick Saban's first year.
00:10:08
Speaker
ah Dude, just moving forward, I have a lot of questions for this team, man, for this university and everything. I feel like unless like something really changes in the next year, they might be on pace for a Nebraska-like decline from after Osborne retired. i just I do not have warm, fuzzy feelings about Alabama football anymore.
00:10:31
Speaker
um Somebody had posted on Twitter that A bunch of Alabama players were doing tick tocks right before the game and danced in a locker room. They're like, dude, Nick Saban would have never let them do this. Like, and I get it.
00:10:42
Speaker
It has this era of college football is completely different. So it's, it's saving. Yeah. They lost saving right at the time we entered a brand new area. Now, obviously he was there for the first couple of years at NIL, but it feels like in the last like year and a half, we've really just hit warp speed.
00:10:56
Speaker
With the n NIL stuff, kind of you know if you want to call it the player empowerment movement to kind of take a turn from the NBA, like it just seems like the players are in charge now. we're For the longest time in college football, These coaches were just gods, you know, like just unquestioned gods. Like the coaches were really the program as opposed to the players. And it seemed like that's just changed now. So yeah I think he's got a $60 million dollars buyout, dude, at this point, unless things rapidly turn around. I'm going to be surprised if DeBoer lasts this season.
00:11:23
Speaker
Yeah, that's what i was just about to say is like hot that seat is hotter than any seat in college football at this point. which we're going to get into the next team, which I also think his seat is heating up.
00:11:34
Speaker
um we'll We'll talk about Clemson and LSU. Dude, I am really starting to have doubts about Dabo Sweeney and how great of a head coach he is. like He's another guy that seems like he's been slow to adapt to the new era, man. Clemson doesn't like to mess around with the transfer portal. I think was on record before.
00:11:51
Speaker
Obviously, he went back against his word, but he said he'd quit ah you know once they started paying college players because he thought it would just change the game too much. um Yeah, dude. i I don't know. I feel like Davos got enough of a resume that he's always goingnna be around. I think he might be one of the first people outbound to call us, dude, if they get rid DeBoer.
00:12:09
Speaker
I mean, that would make the most logical sense is is him. i just... I don't know, man. College football is in a really weird place right now. Like... I don't know about you, but did I watched college football all day on Saturday, and just there was a couple games where I'm just sitting there watching and just like realizing like this is definitely a different college football than even last year to me. It's just the NIL and the transfer portal have completely changed college football, and to be determined if it's for the better or the worse. I mean, it's just going to take some time to figure it out, but...
00:12:42
Speaker
It definitely has leveled out the playing field to me. Like you can definitely see that some of these lower teams have a lot better players now because they can pay them. And i don't know, man, maybe it levels it out. And we just this playoff system just figures everything out on its own and it just keeps getting better. But i don't know Jury still offer me on that. Yeah, to me, dude, I feel like we're moving to a world where.
00:13:06
Speaker
you don't necessarily need need that Nick Saban type, just like dictator at the top of the program setting the tone. I feel like if i'm if I'm an athletic director, I'm looking for a really smart X's and O's guys that's just going to be able to get my guys in position to compete every year. And I'm hiring like ah a CEO type dude to, to freaking run the analytics, figure out where the smartest place to spend this money is, man, to, to get advantages and and find some of these guys from the mid majors that you can bring up to make an impact.
00:13:30
Speaker
yeah Um, because yeah, there's just not that continuity anymore where you got guys growing in a program two or three years, you know, it's rare. Now do you see a players at the same school for three seasons? Um, So, yeah, I'm with you, man. It's definitely changed.
00:13:44
Speaker
i've I've said this last season, man. i got If I think about it too hard, I call i really kind of like can't get into college football as much as I want to. So I just don't. It's the same way I watch wrestling, kayfabe only, man. I just tune in and watch the games and don't really think about some of the kind of issues and like hypocrisies and stuff with with the way college football is now. because i just i still i grew up College football was my first love, as far as football goes, man. When I was a kid, I was in into college football.
00:14:10
Speaker
before I was in the NFL. And I just loved, you know, guys like Tommy Frazier, dude, Charlie Ward, people like that, that you'd see, you know, have success and triumphs at the same school and just put together this body of work in the same uniform. It just, it just meant more, man. It just hit different.
00:14:23
Speaker
Yeah. We were not going to ever see that again. Like it's just, you're never committed to the school. You're committed to the paycheck at this

Colorado and Coaching Critiques

00:14:30
Speaker
point. Yeah. um Let's talk about Colorado post Shadour and Travis Hunter. Dude. Yeah.
00:14:38
Speaker
They had three turn they had they got three turnovers in the first quarter and were up seven to zero I think this team is in disarray, and I think they're in trouble. like Me and you have talked about this before, about Deion and his in-game coaching, and you said the other night, you're like, I don't even think Deion coaches anything on game day. think his headset's plugged in, man.
00:14:59
Speaker
I still say it. do not think his headset's plugged in, dude. or if if he's If there's anything in that headset, it's like Shador's mixtapes, dude. I don't think he's coaching game days. I think he's a tone setter and recruiter and credit them for sticking around. We always said we thought he'd be gone the moment they were gone. But yeah, I don't think beyond is is long for for Colorado. I just, you know, I think we're to see them slide back. They obviously had should or was ah a pretty damn good college quarterback. And they had Travis Hunter, who was just a generational talent.
00:15:27
Speaker
think we're going to see them slide back to kind of their natural spot in the universe now over the the next season or two. Dude, think about all those people because they sold out season tickets for the first time in like 35 years. Think about all those people that bought into it and and paid all that money to get season tickets. And, dude, Georgia Tech ran the same play over and over and over, and Colorado never adjusted their defense.
00:15:50
Speaker
They never did anything. They just kept going out there. And Deion's like, oh, we got to stop this quarterback. And it's like, well, you didn't adjust anything. They ran the same play over and over. i mean, it's Georgia Tech. That's what they're going to do.
00:16:02
Speaker
And the other thing, that last drive when they had two timeouts and he let 35 seconds just run off the clock after um that guy got tackled inbounds. I don't know what what Colorado is doing at this point. Like I'm telling you, he doesn't coach, bro. That's been an issue since he's been there. Remember there'd be games where they're trying to salt away a victory and they're, and she doors out there throwing incomplete passes, man. Stopping the clock. Like, yeah, I just, don't know. I love Dion man. Right. I love Dion. I've got his one all time favorite players, dude. I wore number two in high school because of Dion Sanders at Florida state.
00:16:35
Speaker
Um, I just did. he's He's just not a game day coach, man. I don't know what the, I don't know what exactly is going on there, dude, but I'm thinking he's just there. Like I said, the marketing and recruiting and stuff.
00:16:46
Speaker
The thing is though, if he's, if you know, like, Hey dude, he's not going to be that guy. Like dude, subcontract that shit out. Tell him, have the offensive coordinator, have an assistant head coach and be like, Hey dude, you're in charge of, you know, when we throw, when we challenge, dude, when we call timeout, clock management, all that kind of stuff. And let Dion be there to give the big speech at halftime.
00:17:03
Speaker
There's another thing that really does bother me about Colorado and just like what they're doing. ah Dude, I get what they're trying to do. Like just bring more eyes to it. But... Bringing in Marshall Falk and Warren Sapp and all these guys that have never coached, like i just I understand why they're doing it. It's to get eyes on the program. But these guys don't know how to make in-game adjustments. like Yeah, they played and stuff. and They know how the game is played. But, dude, college football is 100 times different than it was in the 90s at this point. like
00:17:35
Speaker
There is no comparisons to college football now than there was in the I don't know. i all What this team is doing is just the most wild thing ever. I just i don't understand what the end goal of this is because they're clearly not going to get better. I mean, it's just it's one of those things where they're just going to run the same guys out there every week.
00:17:55
Speaker
I mean, between the third and fourth quarter, Dion was asked questions by a sideline reporter and he was, ah she was asking him what um the quarterback could do better.
00:18:06
Speaker
And all he said is he's just got to go out there and be him. That's it. He just, he wants to be him. Now's his time to be him. It's like, what the fuck does that even mean, dude? Like, how is that helping that kid? Oh, just go out there and be him. Like maybe like some, I don't know, some kind of breakdown of, Hey, you're missing this guy on the, on the under routes. Like what what the fuck, what does that even mean?
00:18:28
Speaker
In Deion's defense, man, that's pretty much what I tell our quarterback on the 8U team. I get him pumped up. and My 8U. Toughest guy on the team, bro. You're him. Go out there. But all he has to do is execute handoffs and run, you know, boot bootleg runs and bootleg run pass options every once in a while. He's not out there breaking down, you know, cover three cloud, cover four mace, any of that kind of stuff, man. So, yeah, be him.
00:18:48
Speaker
Probably doesn't quite apply at the D1 college football level. And am I the only one that is like shocked that Julian Lewis is not the starting quarterback of Colorado? It seemed like they promised him that job in recruiting and then don't even name him the starter. Nor did he play in that game. Like, yeah, little weird. i don't know. It just seemed really weird to me. But yeah, I mean, overall, and then ah let's hit on the Notre Dame Miami game last

Notre Dame vs Miami Recap

00:19:14
Speaker
night.
00:19:14
Speaker
That was game of the weekend for me. Oh, yeah. That game was phenomenal. That that looked like in all the ways that Texas and Ohio State kind of fell flat. This looked like a matchup between two heavyweights. Obviously, Notre Dame left, you know, left some plays on the field, dude. I'm sure they're feeling like they should probably should have won that game coming away from it. But I thought both teams played great. I don't downgrade Notre Dame. No, it was too much of that. I thought Carson Beck played tough. Obviously, the defense adjusted.
00:19:39
Speaker
After the half, they slowed him down big time. But, dude, I thought he looked awesome, man. It was an incredible catch, that one-handed touchdown right halftime. But it was just as good of a throw, man. Like, that was literally, like, there there was like ah maybe like a three-by-three-foot window to get that ball into to give his receiver a chance. And he did it and the receiver made a tremendous play. So, you know. I'd be hyped for Miami, man. i you know i took ah Jordan was a little bit higher on Clemson.
00:20:01
Speaker
I think Miami's got a good shot, dude, at winning that ACC and getting ah getting a bye in the playoffs. um But yeah, I thought both teams looked really, really good. And that that was an awesome game. Loved having that on Sunday night.
00:20:12
Speaker
Yeah, it was it was really fun to watch. The one thing I'm going to downgrade is Notre Dame's play caller. Like how Jeremiah Love had four touches yeah going into the fourth quarter. Dude, he's the best running back in college football by a long ways. like and am I was thinking maybe ah like there was an injury or something that we just didn't know about. The thing is, when he got when he got the ball, he looked great, dude. You know what I mean? He was fucking trying to jump over people every time he got the ball in the fourth quarter. He clearly was healthy. I mean, nobody that's not healthy is trying to jump over people in the middle of a game. I don't know if they got him on a pitch count this season to just make sure he's healthy for the draft or what, but that was bizarre, dude, that they weren't going anymore because it seemed like he was you know he was making stuff happen every time they got the ball in his hands. I guess here's my thing. Even if he's on a pitch count, like, and they just want him to be healthy all year.
00:20:59
Speaker
He was still out there like pass blocking and stuff. He was in every play. I just, like he was off the field I do not understand any of that. I think they lost the game because of that. Honestly, like I just, I don't understand not getting him the ball. He's your best player by far. I think they definitely, they definitely missed Riley litter. They tried to run some of the same stuff with car with, you know, Riley Leonard was basically like another running back out there. did I think he was one of the more underrated college quarterbacks of the last couple of years. um Yeah. I agree. think they missed him out there for sure, but good game though, dude. I'm i'm excited to watch more out of both these teams this season.
00:21:30
Speaker
Yep.

Top 25 Game Preview: Michigan at Oklahoma

00:21:31
Speaker
Okay, we only have one top 25 matchup this week, and it is in Oklahoma. It is Michigan at Oklahoma. That is our only top 25 game this week.
00:21:42
Speaker
Oklahoma favored by six, which I kind of thought was surprising. and we We forgot something, man, before we make the picks. Oh, my God. You're not getting out of this, Frowns. You're hearing this song all season long. God.
00:21:54
Speaker
You love it. I know you love I not. know you secretly bumped this. The opposite of loving it.
00:22:04
Speaker
You're waiting for them to add it on Fortnite so you can make that your victory song. I'm definitely not waiting for that. What if they put that on there and they and they had the Shador celebration on there as an emote? Tell me that wouldn't go hard.
00:22:15
Speaker
Dear God. ah I'm thinking Oklahoma wins, man. I think Oklahoma was one of the more underrated teams last year. they had The way Texas got the absolute cupcake spread for their first SEC season, Oklahoma got the opposite. view They had a brutal schedule last year. i think they they got a really good defense. I think they're going beat Michigan, man.
00:22:35
Speaker
I'm going to Michigan just because I want Michigan to be undefeated when they come to Lincoln in three weeks. There you go. I want Nebraska and Michigan to both be undefeated. Now, whether or not Nebraska is good at that point, I don't know.
00:22:47
Speaker
I mean, their next two games are Akron and Houston Christian, so not really going to tell us a whole lot from the next two games. But I still want it to be two undefeated teams when they come to Lincoln in three weeks.
00:22:58
Speaker
Yeah, I like it, man. Yeah. Yeah, this should be a good one, man. ah indeed It's just so great to have all day football back, man. You know, our games are at nine o'clock in the morning now. So we get back home right in time for the 11 o'clock kickoff. And then you get games all the way down to freaking 1, 1.30 in the morning.
00:23:15
Speaker
Yeah. One other thing. So this was Corso's last weekend, as I'm sure everyone's aware. sal He went six and oh this weekend on his picks, dude. Like had every upset. I still got it, dude.
00:23:27
Speaker
Yeah. i But yeah, I mean, what an incredible career. Game day is not going to be the same without him. Like even though you his mind has definitely slipped quite a bit. It's just it's not going to be the same without him there.
00:23:40
Speaker
ah Let's move on NFL.

NFL Trade Surprises and Season Predictions

00:23:43
Speaker
So start off, got to give Jordan props. He called it. I disagreed. Micah Parsons to the Packers. I did not say to the Packers. I just said he was never playing another down with Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Yeah, you said that he was definitely goingnna be going to be gone.
00:23:54
Speaker
Yeah, I just, I don't know, man. Everything that came out, just like usually I'm i'm with you. I'm all for this whole like, oh man, the player's just doing whatever he can. This just seemed like both sides were absolutely locked in and there was zero chance they were going to reconcile.
00:24:10
Speaker
I'm shocked that it happened the week before the season started, and I'm shocked that he went to an NFC team also. I thought if they traded him, it was going to an AFC team. so and Also, dude, the Packers are a huge rival of the Cowboys. i mean I know. That's what I'm saying. They're outside of the NFC East, and like maybe the Niners, the Packers are right there. It's always a big deal when the Packers and Cowboys play, man. like That's always a big rivalry.
00:24:33
Speaker
Yeah. um But, yeah, I mean, good for the Packers. Like, it completely changed a lot of the trajectory for their defense. I don't think this does anything to the Cowboys, honestly. i mean, yeah, it's going to hurt, obviously, not having Michael Parsons out there. But I still think therere their record isn't going to change based on not having Michael Parsons out there. I think they the team is what the team already was. Yeah.
00:24:58
Speaker
um All right, let's get into it, man. Let's do our final predictions for the Titans and Falcons. I know we did division previews and stuff like that, but let's both lock in what we think win totals for our teams are and what it looks like going into the offseason.
00:25:14
Speaker
Me and dad went through it. My dad was here this weekend, come down for the game, just hang out, man. We went through game by game and looked at this on the way back from the game Saturday morning. I think they're going, I'll be optimistic. We had them at like six or seven wins. I'll be optimistic and say they go seven and 10. I'll say Cam Ward's the real deal.
00:25:31
Speaker
Seven and 10 Titans in 2025. Sadly, that's like, i hate that that's the optimistic answers is ah ah seven and 10. Yeah, I mean, it they're just in a tough spot, man. Like, they have some playmakers for Cam Ward, but I just I don't I don't think it's all going to come together for them. I got them about five wins, five, six wins, which i still don't think is a horrible season for them. I mean, in the grand scope of things, it's not great, but Um, so I've went back and forth on the Falcons, like whether I think that they're locked into a nine to 10 win season, like anywhere from eight to 10 wins is where I got them.
00:26:11
Speaker
Michael final prediction. I think they go 10 and seven and I think they eke out the NFC South. Okay. But I, I think they, I'm about the same view. I think they're nine and eight, 10 and seven. I think we come down 17. I think it comes down to week 17, but I think that they, I think they win the freaking NFC South that we see the Falcons back in the playoffs for the first time in almost a decade. The first four weeks are going to tell us a lot because they got Tampa this weekend.
00:26:34
Speaker
Then they go to Minnesota for Sunday night football, then at Carolina and then Washington at home before their bye week. So yeah, First four weeks are going to tell us a lot because then they come back with Buffalo on Monday Night Football and then at San Fran. So they definitely got to run the gauntlet out of the gate.
00:26:50
Speaker
But then once you get past that, dude, there's a ton of winnable games on the schedule for the Falcons. So I'm just praying that they they win enough games in the first six games to just stay afloat.
00:27:01
Speaker
You ready to get into our awards predictions for the year? Let's do it. You go first, man. What what category are we starting with? Let's start with rookie of the year. let's Let's just do offensive rookie of the year because it gets too much to do defensive.
00:27:14
Speaker
um I went Cam Ward. I just i seriously think he's going to play really well, and I think he's going to have enough stats to to make it. And, dude, usually the quarterback wins this anyway, so I think Cam's set up the best, honestly.
00:27:27
Speaker
I think for the first time in NFL history, we're going to see one guy win both awards, dude. Offensive. And defensive rookie the year. Travis Hunter, have a day. That is not going to happen.
00:27:38
Speaker
ah It could. How can you say for sure it's not going happen? You're right. It could. But I'm telling you, that guy they're going to try that for two weeks, and they're going have to put him on one side of the ball. Dude, we've talked about this numerous times.
00:27:49
Speaker
This is not college football. He's going to get smoked across the middle one time, and it's going to change the way they play him. um ah It's not going to happen. Who do you got for defensive player the year? Michael Parsons. I think he's going to play break with his hair on fire all season, and I just i think he's going to be pissed off, and I think he's going to get close or, if not, break the sack record.
00:28:13
Speaker
You're thinking a little Reggie White. That first year he went to the Packers back in the 90s, just already a freaking primo for a pass rusher and then levels up somehow, switching to a better team. Yeah, I think he's going to play pissed off all year.
00:28:24
Speaker
like i just i i seriously think that changes a lot for the Packers' defense, obviously. This award is always such a crapshoot, man, because like you just like sometimes you can be a badass defensive player, like one of the legit best defensive players in the league, and it just doesn't really show up in the stat sheet, and it's hard to get the credit you do.
00:28:40
Speaker
um So I don't know, man. I'm kind of just shotgun blasting this one out here, dude. to say Kyle Hamilton from the Ravens, dude. Yeah. I think the Ravens are going to have a really, really big year. And I think he's he's just an all around defensive player, man. Similar to when Charles Woodson won it in 2010. I think he'll you know have forced fumbles, maybe some sacks off some blitzes, some decent pick numbers. And he's dangerous with the ball in his hands. He could get some touchdowns on defense, too.
00:29:02
Speaker
So I'll say Kyle Hamilton for the Ravens just puts together a badass all around season. That's funny you said that because my second choice was Patrick c Sertan for the exact same reasons. Like, dude, his stats are just unreal. Like when he's thrown at and stuff like that. and i mean, most people just don't even throw at his side of the field. yeah they Don't even bother.
00:29:19
Speaker
Don't even look this way. Yeah. Offensive player of the year. I think Jamar Chase. I think we see the I think this year we you got the same. Yeah, I think he he probably was in the mix last year of Saquon didn't have such a historic season.
00:29:33
Speaker
But I think this is the year I think we're going to get the peak Jamar Chase season. I think he's still got a lot of ah obviously he's got a ton of legs left on his career. But I think this is going to be the year we look back and say, like, you this was the absolute best we got of Jamar Chase. I think all the stars of the line.
00:29:48
Speaker
They got a shitty defense, so they're still gonna be throwing the ball a ton. Joe Burrow's healthy. um They're in a little bit of desperation mode, like playoffs or bust this year. And I think all that translates to just a huge year statistically for Jamar Chase.
00:30:01
Speaker
I didn't put it on here, but let's let's pick comeback player of the year because there is two really good choices this year. Dude, I'm going to say McCaffrey does stay healthy long enough to get it. i don't I'm not saying he plays all 17 games, but I think he stays healthy long enough to get comeback player of the year.
00:30:17
Speaker
Could J.J. McCarthy get it, man? No. He's my guy coming back from injury. Obviously, he didn't really play last year. He's still a rookie. He counts. This is his rookie season, so you can't get it. Who was the second one you didn't think Aiden Hutchinson.
00:30:28
Speaker
Oh, yeah. Yeah, Aiden Hutchinson should do huge. I thought about him for defensive player year, when i was just like, yeah, you never know. it may It may take him the first month of the season to get back into game shape. But it he was it was a broken leg, right? It wasn't an ACL.
00:30:41
Speaker
Oh, yeah, broken leg. Yeah, the the broken bones, think it'd be the opposite, but broken bones are actually a lot easier to come back from than the freak in ah then you know the soft tissue injury. So, yeah, he's he's another good one for comeback player of the year.
00:30:54
Speaker
um MVP, man. Coach of the year. Oh, coach of the year. I hate to say it, dude. I hate to say it. I'm going to go Sean Payton, though. I think the Broncos are going to put together a really good year. i think they're going to give the Chiefs everything that they can handle out in the AFC West. And I think they end up with a really nice record. And, you know, Sean Payton, despite how problematic he is for numerous reasons, seems like he's always been pretty beloved by the media.
00:31:16
Speaker
It's a real narrative based award. And I think everything lines up for him to get coach of the year. I'm going to go Sean McDermott, the Bills coach. I seriously think this team is going win like 14 or 15 games. okay And I just I feel like he's going to run away with coach of the year.
00:31:31
Speaker
Yeah, I could totally see that, too, man. i Get one of those like like those years when Belichick would go like, you know, 14 to two and they they they just decide to give him that year. Yeah. All right. um MVP, who you got?
00:31:44
Speaker
Based on what I just said, I'm going to go Josh Allen wins it back-to-back seasons. Back-to-back for Josh Allen, huh? I mean, to me, ah yeah honestly, there there was two choices. For me, it was him or Lamar. Dude, I think these guys are just going to go back and forth with MVPs for the next couple years. I mean, not saying Mahomes is still not fantastic. I just don't think he's going to put up the numbers to get up there.
00:32:06
Speaker
Burrow definitely has an outside shot, but I just don't think they're going to win enough games for him to get MVP. I, you know, I had the that same for you just mentioned, man, those are kind of like the Mount Rushmore right now in the NFL. Like it's it's a safe bet to put it, you know, put a ticket down on any four of those guys to win MVP.
00:32:24
Speaker
I'm going to go a little bit off the beaten path just for fun sake. I think Jordan Love did. I think he's I think he's due for a big he had a decent season last year. I think he's going to be back closer to his 2023 form.
00:32:35
Speaker
elevated a little bit. I think that addition to Micah Parsons on the defense going to give them some favorable situations, man, where they're got some short fields. I think we see him. i don't think he's necessarily going to be the best player in the league, but i think he's going pile up some numbers this year. And I think the Packers are going to win enough, man. This is kind of like coach here. This is another narrative based award. We saw that last year when freaking Josh Allen won, despite Lamar Jackson having arguably the most statistical impressive season we've ever seen in the NFL.
00:32:59
Speaker
um So going to say Jordan Love, man. I'll go, I'll go with a fun little dark horse pick and and put a flyer on Jordan Love to win MVP. I'm going to put not very much, but I'm going put a little bit of money on this. I'm going to put a little bit on Brock Brody, too. I just, yeah, I don't know, man.
00:33:13
Speaker
Once they get everybody healthy, I feel like their offense is going to be really good and they have the easiest schedule in the NFL. So anything's All the hardcore analytics guys are big on the Niners, dude. They say the Niners are kind of bubbling under. going to have a big, big bounce back season this year. I don't necessarily see it from my like football watching eyes and everything I saw last season and kind of just the the vibes I got on them, but a lot of really smart people are predicting big things for the Niners this season. Yeah, I can see it.
00:33:39
Speaker
What's your final Super Bowl pick?
00:33:45
Speaker
I say Buffalo gets there and loses to the Eagles. I think the Eagles go back. I say this Kansas City Chiefs beat the Packers, dude. I think the Chiefs get back on top. Mahomes got the new haircut, man. I think he's out for blood.
00:34:01
Speaker
I'm due until they get knocked out, you know, and until they get freaking eliminated before the AFC championship. I'm sticking with them, man. I know it's a boring pick, but I say the Chiefs win and I think they beat the Packers.
00:34:12
Speaker
Okay. All right. We're getting into our week one NFL picks, man. How fun does it feel to say that, dude? Feels good, man. Let's do it. Let's go. go.
00:34:34
Speaker
All right, let's get into it. We will open up with Thursday night football. This is a marquee matchup, man. I'm surprised that Fox didn't want to hang on to this one for um you for a Sunday afternoon game. You don't get a choice. The Super Bowl champion has to play on Thursday night.
00:34:53
Speaker
Right, but I'm saying, but i figured that but I figured they would have blocked him from having the Cowboys game on Thursday night. yeah and Cowboys and Eagles, Thursday night. Eagles. Yeah, I think Eagles too. I think the Cowboys could be frisky, man.
00:35:05
Speaker
I think the Cowboys, you know, they've heard nothing but negative shit all offseason. So I think this could end up being a little bit more competitive than then it would seem on face value. But yeah, I think the Eagles end up finding a way to get the dub.
00:35:16
Speaker
Yeah. You got your pen and paper out? You sketching these down, Jordan? we're good, man. I got it. Okay, because I just want to remind the folks, the last two years, despite Jordan being a freaking absolute football expert, I beat him on the picks, man. Indeed you have.
00:35:29
Speaker
All right, we got a game Friday night, dude. We got Friday night lights down in Brazil. Chiefs and Chargers. Chiefs. um I say Chargers, bro.
00:35:40
Speaker
i think that I think it's going to be a different season for the Chiefs this year, dude. that It's in Brazil. You know, this was a weird game last year between the the Eagles and Packers. I think Jim Harbaugh is going to have his guys freaking with, you know, knives in their teeth ready to go to war.
00:35:55
Speaker
I think the Chargers win this. Okay. Saints and Cardinals, I think the Cardinals roll, man. I think Saints, they kick off their campaign to bring Arch to New Orleans with a with a big loss against the Cardinals, who should be pretty competitive this year. I'm going Cardinals as well.
00:36:10
Speaker
Somebody said the other day that the Saints are going to be lucky to win a coin toss this season. i Love to see it, dude. oh Dolphins and Colts in Indy.

NFL Game Previews and Betting Excitement

00:36:22
Speaker
I mean, the Dolphins are a different team when two is not throwing up gang signs on the field. So all I'll go Dolphins. Yeah, I was surprised to see the Colts are the favorites, man. I don't know where that's coming from, dude. The Colts are actually one and a half point favorites in this one. It's a home game, dude. I mean, yeah yeah you get three points at home, so.
00:36:41
Speaker
I'm going Dolphins all the way, though. I think the Dolphins get this one in. As well as long as Tua's on the field, Mike McDaniels is pretty damn good coach. but yeah The drop-off is immense when he doesn't got Tua out there. Raiders and Patriots in New England. I think Vegas goes in and gets this, dude. I'm expecting a big, big improvement from them this year with Pete Carroll at coach Gino at QB.
00:37:01
Speaker
I know, I know the, the optimism is high in new England with the new coach and Drake may second year, but I think they start off with an L man. I think the Raiders go in there and handle business. I'm going Patriots.
00:37:13
Speaker
All right, Steelers and Jets in New York. Aaron Rodgers comes back home. I think he scorches him, dude. We know there's no bigger prick in the NFL than Aaron Rodgers. I think he is absolutely infatuated with the idea of going in there and sticking it to the Jets, man. and i think we see a big Aaron Rodgers, DK Metcalf day, and they they handle business. I agree. I do not even think this is a game, honestly.
00:37:35
Speaker
This is like a double revenge game, dude. What if it goes the other way and Justin Fields just rails off like 220 rushing yards, man? Thank you for saying rushing yards.
00:37:45
Speaker
Giants and commanders in DC, DC rolls. Yeah, I think the commanders are going to scorch them. Yeah, we got the 96 expansion bowl, Panthers and Jags in Jacksonville. This is an interesting one, man. Jacksonville, two and a half point favorites. They got the new coach, should breathe some life in that ah offense. But the Panthers, they finished really strong last year, man. I'm expecting continued improvement from ah from Bryce Young. what's What's your read on this one, dude?
00:38:09
Speaker
I don't know, because I do think Jacksonville's ah offense is going to be a lot better with Cohen as their head coach. just I loved what he did for Tampa last year. Dude,
00:38:21
Speaker
um don't know I loved a lot of what I saw out of Carolina the last six five, six weeks last season. Yeah, I did too, but it's really tough for me to put put any faith in that team. I think Jags win, and this is like a sleeper pick to end up being one of the most entertaining games of the weekend. I'm going Jags as well. i just It's really tough for me to put any stock into the Panthers, dude. I mean, they're so young that maybe this year isn't their year, and it actually happens next year.
00:38:48
Speaker
But yeah, they've got a bright future ahead of them. Same. Should be a fun one though, right? Yeah, it's going to be a really good game. All right. We got the Cincinnati Bowl, Bengals and Browns. The Bengals can't start.
00:38:58
Speaker
Can't have a shitty start again, right? The NFL keeps serving them up, dude. They them the Patriots week one last year. They have the Browns this week. Like, they have the Bengals have to win this game, right? Yeah, the the Browns are equally awful.
00:39:09
Speaker
Yeah. All Big one near and dear to Jordan's heart. The Bucs road dogs or road favorites, man. They got the Bucs as road favorites. Falcons as home dogs, dude. Bucs two and a half point favorites coming into Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
00:39:21
Speaker
I think the Falcons win, man. I think the Falcons win. And I'll double down. I think the Falcons going to send a freaking message, dude. I think the Falcons send a message on this one. I think they beat the Bucs by two scores.
00:39:32
Speaker
I'm surprised you said that because I was like, man, is he going to just be like, what a homer pick? Because I do think the Falcons find a way to win this game. I don't know if it's going to be a two score game, but I just, I feel like they added the right pieces on defense and stuff to just kind of keep the game in front of them. And if the ah offense just does enough, I think they win the game. But yeah, I mean, they swept the bucks last year, right? I'm not misremembering that, right? Yeah. So they got the bucks number, dude. Um,
00:39:57
Speaker
Yeah, I'm sure Raheem Morris got them fired up, showing them that you know they're picking y'all to lose. um Could be another good game. just Similar to the Jags and Panthers, that could be a sneaky one. Ends up being one of the more entertaining games of the weekend. yeah Niners and Seahawks. Niners, again, road favorites. I think they handle business, dude. i think I'm not high on the Sam Darnold era of the Seahawks, dude. I think these guys are in for a little bit of a rough season.
00:40:19
Speaker
I think the Niners get a resurgent 2025 campaign kicked off with a win up in Seattle. See, and this is my thing with the Niners. I think they might start slow just because they're missing so many guys right out of the gate.
00:40:30
Speaker
I mean, it sounds like Jennings is not going to play, and obviously Ayuk is still out. I think they start slow, and I actually do like the Seahawks a lot on defense. I think their defense is going really tough.
00:40:41
Speaker
I think this a low-scoring game, and think the Seahawks come out on top. All right. I hate to say this one, man. Titans head up the Rocky Mountains against Denver. That's a brutal place to open the season anyways, man, because we know Denver has so much built in.
00:40:54
Speaker
Home field advantage with the altitude. i think I think this is the game. I think this sends the Denver. you You're going to have a run on Denver to you know win the AFC West, when the make it to the AFC Championship, make to Super Bowl tickets going after this, because I think they smoke the Titans, man. Really tough spot.
00:41:10
Speaker
for Cam Ward to open the season. i think this one gets ugly, man. I think we see Denver win by about 17-plus. Yeah, i I think this is blowout of the week, honestly. I'm surprised it's only eight. I could have easily seen this being a 10- to 12-point spread.
00:41:24
Speaker
but I think the unknown of Cam Ward is what's keeping that that spread within distance, man. But, yeah, i hate I'd love nothing more than see the Titans go in there and stun them. But there's just not a lot of common-sense reasons to to invest any hope in that one in that outcome happening. Yeah, agreed.
00:41:40
Speaker
All right. ah We got two marquee games in the late window on Sunday. We'll start off with kind of the undercard. Texans and Rams, man. These two teams been in the playoffs last couple of years.
00:41:50
Speaker
and Texans going to L.A. You know, there's rumors thrown about Matt Stafford. What's the state of his back? You know, he looks like he's he's not entering the season 100% healthy. Obviously, we know that this is his 17th year. He's kicking off. So,
00:42:03
Speaker
Can't really judge him for that. But if we got Stafford less than 100%, man, how do you like the Texans' chances of coming in here and getting in a big road win to open the season? I actually like them a lot. I think even if Stafford plays, he's he's definitely not 100%. And with Will Anderson coming off the edge, I do not like that at all for the Rams, dude. I just I feel like the Rams ah offense, when if Stafford gets completely healthy, is going to be one of the top five offenses in the league.
00:42:29
Speaker
The problem is is he's not healthy, and I just do not like it against this team. like Dude, D'Amico Ryans is going to dial it up on Sunday, and I just feel like it's disaster for the Rams this weekend.
00:42:40
Speaker
I agree. I'm picking the Texans as well, man. wouldn't be shocked to see the Rams win because, you know, Sean McVay, his teams are always going ready to go and they're always going to have a good attack. But I think the Texans win, man. I think the Rams are are down for maybe a step down in weight class this year, which is a shame because they were a true Super Bowl contender last year, man. They pushed the Eagles to their limits in a really good playoff game.
00:42:59
Speaker
um But I think, you know, dude that father unless you're Tom Brady, he's the only person to defeat father time, Tom Brady and LeBron. Other than that, he's undefeated. And i I think he's closing in on victory over Matt Stafford, man.
00:43:11
Speaker
The other big game in the late window, Lions and Packers at Green Bay. I think Green Bay wins, man. this is going to be a great game. It's a coin toss to me, but I think Green Bay is going fired up, opening up at Lambeau. You got the additional Michael Parsons out there. I think potential game of the week here, but the Packers come out on top.
00:43:27
Speaker
I agree. I think the Packers win this game, but this is not a knock on the Lions at all. I still think the Lions are really, really good this season. All right. And we got a suit. If that was a heavyweight class, we got a super heavyweight class Sunday night football Ravens and bills in Buffalo. Dude, that is going to be a f freaking circus of an atmosphere.
00:43:45
Speaker
i think the Ravens get it done, though, man. I think they get their payback, dude. They, you know, you can make the case they should have won. I think in the Ravens minds, they definitely feel like they left the victory on the table. when they played in the divisional round up in Buffalo, I think the Ravens go and get it done in what could be ah an instant classic.
00:44:02
Speaker
Dude, the Ravens, the way they started out last season, too, was just, yeah I mean, it was wild. Just the the games that they lost and how they lost them. Yeah, lost to the f freaking Raiders, dude. That game of the Raiders ended up costing them so much, man.
00:44:15
Speaker
Yeah, I just, I think the Ravens, are just such a good football team the only reason i didn't pick them to have the best record in the afc this year is just because of the division they're in but very tough there yeah besides they got four tough games against the bangles and the steelers yeah um i'm gonna go ravens as well i i think they're coming for blood this season yeah yeah ah you know i i think these teams are it's it's a cunt hairs difference man between these two teams um But i think I think the Ravens just come come out with a little bit more of an edge on Sunday night and get the win. Yep, agreed. And then lastly, no Monday night doubleheader this year, man. Just one game on Monday night, Vikings and Bears in Chicago. I think the Vikings win, man. i yeah I'm not in on Caleb Williams. I know everybody loves Ben Johnson coming in as the freaking offensive genius there in Chicago.
00:45:01
Speaker
I'm high on J.J. McCarthy, though, and I love freaking Kyle O'Connell, man. I think the Vikings going to handle business on Monday Night Football. Dude, I was just about to say the same thing. going to pick the Vikings because until the Bears prove to me that they're more than just an offseason champion, I can't buy into this hype every season that they're going to How many times in the last decade have we seen the Bears make, like, the big moves that look great on paper, dude?
00:45:23
Speaker
It never translates on the field on the offensive side of the ball. I do not like Caleb Williams either, dude. There's just something about him that Maybe it's his body length. I don't know. Just something about him, the way he carries himself, I just do not like at all. And I think if things start going bad, I think it's going to get like way worse for them just as far as offensively goes. don't know, man. I'm not high on the Bears at all.
00:45:46
Speaker
Yeah, I'm with you on Caleb Williams. The way that Cam awards a dude that, like, okay, you see him get in the huddle, like, you're you're getting pumped up, right? You feel like he elevates everyone else around him regardless of what the talent level is. Caleb Williams seems like the opposite, dude. I don't think anybody's getting, like, getting juice off seeing Caleb Williams, you know, leading the huddle and and calling the plays, man.
00:46:03
Speaker
No, I agree. All right, you ready to get two million dollar bets? Let's do it.
00:46:10
Speaker
Okay, KK. Tears up. I got money. Me and me. Money in the bank.
00:46:23
Speaker
All right. We are changing up million dollar bets this year just to make a little bit more fun and kind of box us into some ah some specific ah you know formats of our bets and everything. if you you know We got a lot of wrestling carryover on here, so we're going to a spin the wheel, make the deal style format. There's 10 different style bets that we are going to be forced to make, and they'll be selected randomly each week, just a couple minutes before the show goes live. So those three are a three-way dance, which going be a three-team parlay against the spread.
00:46:50
Speaker
All NFC, where we got to pick a Moneyline winner in each NFC division. All AFC, same thing with the American Football Conference. Triple dog dare, you got to pick three underdogs to cover the spread. Double dog dare, you got to pick two underdogs to win Moneyline.
00:47:04
Speaker
College and pro parlay, pick a team in college and pick a team in the NFL to win against the spread. excuse me to win against the spread Fourth year senior. This is a four-team college parlay.
00:47:15
Speaker
ah Top 25. This is pick all top 25 matchups against the spread. And then we got a couple more on their extras that we'll cover as the season goes on.
00:47:26
Speaker
Jordan drew for the first week. Let me find it here. Jordan drew double dog dare. So he's got to pick two NFL underdogs against the money line. Jordan, who'd you pick?
00:47:37
Speaker
So I want to tell her everyone this. I, I tried not to like do like the cop out of like a one point spread, like where the other team is barely the underdog. No, no, I did. So I did 200. I'm laughing because I definitely did the opposite, dude. Cause I just, i don't know, man. That to me is not an underdog. That's basically a pick them game. If it's a point, point a half, that's just a but Jordan is definitely attacking this with more integrity than, uh,
00:48:01
Speaker
Then I did. So I did, uh, I did Texans money line against the Rams. And then I did lions money line against the Packers. I did 50,000, which would pay $246,400. that. you're betting 50 and what's payout? 246, 50 400. K to win 246, 400. Yeah.
00:48:13
Speaker
say that so you're betting fifty k and what's that payout two forty six four hundred dk to win two forty six four hundred and yeah Okay, so I had the triple dog there. So this is where I got to pick three underdogs to cover the spread.
00:48:31
Speaker
And unlike Jordan, you know, to be fair, it just worked out that these were the close spreads. But these were the three teams that I got the gut feeling that they're going to win their games. And I picked all three in million-dollar bets to kind of align with that. So I got a three-team parlay. It's going tough because it's a three-pick parlay. That's tough no matter what, man.
00:48:47
Speaker
um But at three-team parlay, I'm picking the Dolphins to cover a half point against the Colts. I'm picking the Raiders to cover two and a half points against the Patriots. And I'm picking the Falcons to cover two and a half points against the Bucs. I'm betting $75,000 here $553,600.
00:49:01
Speaker
to win five hundred fifty three thousand six hundred and okay You got issues with that, Jordan? Are you good with that? I'm good with that. Was that it was that straight up bitch move or was that a good bet? No, dude, you're good. I think having two that are like legit underdogs, two and a half point spreads, I think you're good on.
00:49:18
Speaker
If you would have done all half point underdogs, would have called bullshit because that's not even an underdog. Hey, man, we just said underdog. It's still a three team parlay. It's a one teamer, dude. All right. Let's and hey, if you guys have any other ideas for like fun bet formats and stuff, feel free to send them to us and we can add them to the wheel of death. We plan on making updates to the wheel of death throughout the season. Hold on, buddy. I did some more bets. This week one. I'm doing more than just to spin the wheel, make the deal.
00:49:45
Speaker
Let's hear Okay, I did a season bet, and you can jump in on this if you want. I have no problem. I'm going under four and a half wins for the Saints and under four and a half wins for the Browns. 100K would win me 462,000. Okay, text text me the screenshots on these after we get off. What else you got?
00:50:03
Speaker
And then for this week, I'm going, you're going to love this, over 46 and a half points in the Falcons game. Oh, gosh. Over 47 and a half in the Bengals game. And then the Commanders minus six, 50,000 would win me 346,728. Okay. Screenshot me. So Jordan's got some bonus picks. He's going to need them because I typically dust him in a million dollar bets. killed you last year in million dollar bets.
00:50:31
Speaker
I feel like that was like some late season hygiene. No, it wasn't. You had to start putting a shitload of money because you were getting smoked. Ha ha ha. I killed you last year. I'll go back and pull the transcript. Dude, straight up smoked you last year in million dollar bets.
00:50:46
Speaker
I don't remember that, but I guess I'll take Jordan. course you don't. All right, you ready to get in the mailbag? Let's do it.
00:51:11
Speaker
All right, we got a couple of good questions from the listeners. First off, we got, who is the Any Given Sunday team this year? The team that will have a losing record but has the talent to beat anyone at any time. So I don't know if this team necessarily has the talent, but I think they got enough talent and I think the coaching is going to be there. I think the Patriots do. I think the Patriots are going to be a a tough out every single week.
00:51:29
Speaker
We know Vrabel is the man at making chicken salad out of chicken shit. um And i I just I think they're going to play really tough defense, play hard nosed on offense. I think they're going to be a tough team to get the W against most weeks, even though they're going to end up with a losing record.
00:51:43
Speaker
Yeah, that was the exact team I was thinking, too. And you when you read that question off, I think the Patriots are gonna be a tough out every week. um All right. So let's we'll keep this one to the league. We're together. Kentucky Football Conference. Are you happy with the team you drafted? I love my starters.
00:51:59
Speaker
I was able to snab snag Travis Hunter as my first bench player. I think he's got a chance to put up some big numbers. I feel like the rest of my bench players, dude, I was blindfolded just throwing darts out there, man. How did you feel about your draft last night?
00:52:11
Speaker
Yeah, I like my team, man. I actually thought, don't know, dude, just everything just kept falling. I just wasn't going overdraft anybody and everything just kept falling to me. So I just kept going with it. I mean, I like my bench too. I got starting running back on my bench. I got a guy who I think is going to be the starter by the end season and Trey Benson. And I got ah Jaden Reed and Jordan Addison as well on my bench. So yeah, man, my, ah I like my team a lot.
00:52:35
Speaker
Me and Jordan were picking back to back. Did I snipe anybody from you that you had queued up? Um, well, I mean, obviously I wanted Drake London when you took him, but yeah, I mean, I don't know, dude. It's just, it's so hard.
00:52:49
Speaker
Cause this is a much more of a crap shoot nowadays. It's kind of, there's there's much more like your own personal taste in the fantasy as opposed to like, you know, there being like the consensus. Like i felt like we had maybe 10, 15 years ago, not to mention it's a non PPR league. So it's really tough to handle that too.
00:53:03
Speaker
Yeah. Sam LaPorta, you actually managed to not snipe me. you know Me and Jordan, we talked so much football that I was worried we were going up going back and forth all night. um Sam LaPorta was the one I was really worried about, dude, because I know you're a big Lions fan. I was just like, God, please let Sam be there. Please let Sam be there. He was so good for me last year. It's so hard to find anybody that you feel confident about at the tight end position nowadays. Dude, the one that I almost picked because I knew you were goingnna pick him next was Travis Hunter. I knew for a fact you were taking him next.
00:53:32
Speaker
but i was like I just think he's high upside. i I think he's got a chance to be like... ah Who was Landry, dude? The receiver for the Dolphins and the Browns few years back that just had not a not a ton of touchdowns, but just had a ton of catches every single week, man. I felt like he had a chance to be like that. Yeah, I agree.
00:53:49
Speaker
Alright, and then last question. Any special plans for week one viewing, man? I think we're going to go ahead and set up the the backyard theater, dude. Maybe we'll get... ah If I can talk Sheena into I think we might get some proper...
00:54:01
Speaker
deep fried chicken wings, dude, and just have the nice wing spread to kick off week one of the NFL. What about you, man? Nope. I have to watch the Falcons game at home. like Dude, i just I cannot be in public when they're playing. Yeah, you'll end up getting arrested, bro. Jordan wants to the Falcons at a sports bar something. There's a...
00:54:18
Speaker
Have the bail money on deck, dude, ready to go. Don't put it in the DraftKings. Have the bail money ready to go and have a bail bondsman on speed. The craziest thing is we used to go to the sports bar up the street from our house every weekend for about seven years to watch football.
00:54:32
Speaker
yeah And I cannot believe they never booted us out of there. yeah We were Buffalo Wild Wings guys for for the longest, man. It was it's always fun. Even though if you work the math out, you're like, shit, dude, for like two weeks of this, I could have just got Sunday taken at home. But it is fun watching all the games at a sports bar, dude. It is, yeah.
00:54:49
Speaker
I agree. A core football memory for me. Do you remember, think it was either week four or week five of the 2009 season when Favre hit that Hail Mary against the the Niners to win at the last second. We were at Buffalo. what You remember which game I'm talking about? Mm-hmm.
00:55:03
Speaker
Yeah, we were at Buffalo Wild Wings when that happened. And like most of the early window games had already ended. So almost every TV was on that Vikings Niners game. And dude, the whole place just freaking erupted when Favre hit that pass, man. Like everybody was just all in on Brett Favre that year. it was so fun.
00:55:18
Speaker
Yeah. All right, Jordan, this was some closing thoughts and we'll put a wrap on the season premiere of Goal Line Year 3. I hope ah this weekend is just great for everybody, and I hope all your teams win unless you're a Broncos or a Bucs fan, and I hope you guys spit the bit and lose week one.
