00:00:47
Speaker
All right. Yeah, this is an exciting episode for Gen Alpha
Enduring Trends in Education
00:00:51
Speaker
there. Freaking out. Episode 67. I am midnight. As always, joined by my two amazing co-hosts.
00:00:58
Speaker
First and foremost, the number one six seven enjoyer, Sean Mason. Teacher. yeah How are you, sir Loving my 6'7ers. I will say this. the six I mean, it's still there. It's it's still there. like Kids still do it. But it it's not as bad as it was, you know. at the beginning of the school year and the middle of the school year, it's it's died down a little bit, but it's still there. I will say that this trend of the six, seven has lasted a lot longer than most trends that I have seen in my eight years of teaching.
00:01:31
Speaker
Probably because it doesn't have any real meaning. So it takes longer to die. Probably, yeah.
Pokemon Card Challenge
00:01:36
Speaker
yeah Last but not least, the master of graphics, editing, Pokemon, and just general Chad.
00:01:43
Speaker
Hodge, how you doing? I'm doing good. Actually, yeah. we just ah For those who may not know, me and my girlfriend do a 30-day challenge. we can you can follow it on Instagram. YouTube and tick tock if you want. It's just every day we each open a pack and see who can pull the better cards. And we actually just filmed some of month two. So month one just wrapped up and there's actually an hour long video of just all 30 days in a row. If anyone wants to watch that on YouTube. But we just started we just started filming the second month. It's going it's really fun. So ah those should be going up soon, hopefully. But yeah, the first month is done and
00:02:24
Speaker
It was a lot of lot of fun to do. But on that, obviously, we'll get into showcases, but they were great. and love and i love the E3, quote unquote, RIP era of gaming. So, ah or like era part of the year. i used to, we'll get into it. But yeah, happy to be here.
00:02:43
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah, I've checked out several of your Pokemon videos, and you guys never pull anything in the ones that I've seen. But ah I'm sure you have pulled some stuff, though. Yeah, we've pulled some sweet cards. But yeah, it's obviously they are rare for a reason. So when you're only opening in one a day, it's hard to hit that.
00:03:01
Speaker
that craziness every day. So, right. Yeah. lot fun. Isn't it only like one card really in the pack that you're, that is like valuable, like right after, right after the foil one or whatever. something like Yeah. Technically the, the rest of it is called bulk when it comes to collectors. Cause obviously you rip packs you want the rare cards. So when you get a bunch of common cards over and over, it's called bulk, but,
00:03:22
Speaker
ah We enjoy the art on the cards. where I mean, I am obviously an OG Pokemon fan. I grew up on it. but ah So I enjoy getting the art of all the cards where if you watch a lot of different like Pokemon YouTubers, TikToks, whatever, they'll just skip through all the common cards and just see if they get the rare ones. And it it seems so...
00:03:42
Speaker
commercial at that point where it's like i like seeing the other cards because like i like them but i will say a spoiler just because sean i might send you this card and so i still obviously need to send you your luffy your yuffie card midnight but i put we got this one yesterday oh toxicity so i need to send this one to you sean so toxicity yeah but yeah so uh yeah so it's it's been a lot of fun and uh it's growing slowly. Surely obviously Pokemon is a very flooded marker. I know with, especially with the scalpers, it's hard to get packs because scalpers like just, they just flood stores, buy everything in itself for triple the price online. It's so annoying. So, but obviously I love Pokemon, so it's been fun doing it right on.

Gaming Showcase Recap
00:05:13
Speaker
you. And in this episode, we are going to be recapping the showcases. We're going to go over our 15 favorite games each from all the showcases combined.
00:05:25
Speaker
And before we get into that, though, we did some predictions in our last episode. um Hodge, would you like to go over the results of the predictions? Yes. Yeah. And really quickly before I do that we were going to record last weekend, but literally as we were about to record, both something came up for both Sean and I, like literally as we were sitting down to start recording. But it was actually kind of a it was a good thing because they announced the Nintendo Direct basically right after we didn't
PlayStation Showcase Predictions Review
00:05:55
Speaker
record. So we were able to add that to our show. But so I didn't do any predictions, obviously, for Nintendo because we didn't know it existed before we recorded. But Yeah. ah
00:06:05
Speaker
Do we want to go? do i want to say the score at the end and just kind of go through our predictions first and then? Yeah, go through the predictions and then give us the score. All right. So for state of play, I'll say them. I'll say obviously if they happened after during it, but. So for me, my first prediction was new hair hardware of any kind was shown at the state of play. Nope. They didn't show anything of hardware related Wolverine date changed. It stayed the same. I was wrong there.
00:06:32
Speaker
ah The PS plus lineup would be announced with the Microsoft game. I don't even think they announced the PS plus games, let alone there being a Microsoft game, which was surprising because usually every state of play, they say what's what's upcoming. So I was actually surprised about that. But next was that they'd show a new first party game that did happen. ah What game was it?
00:06:50
Speaker
Oh, it was Untolded 2. Yeah. God of War as well. And God War, yeah. So there were two first-party games shown. And then previous-gen game would be remastered and shown off, which happened Dynasty Warriors 3, I think is what it was. they That's what everyone asking for, that game.
00:07:08
Speaker
Yeah, exactly. so But I still got the point for it. And then Midnight's predictions where we get new hardware of any kind also did not. You said Final Fantasy Remake Part 3 would be shown with a release date or window. ah You got half a point for that because it was shown at the Summer Games Fest, but was not at Sony. And then you said Sony Santa Monica. They did show up with God of of War Laundry. ah then laour yeah and Then for ah some Horizon shit will be there. and No one cared about except Sean. They had no Horizon, which was actually kind of surprising seeing as that Hunter-Gatherer game is coming out. Sean, were you upset that there was no Horizon?
00:07:47
Speaker
um A little bit. I was hoping we got like some type of like teaser at the the third game in the trilogy, but yeah that's going to probably be a long time away.
00:07:58
Speaker
Yeah. And then DLC or new stuff for Yote, Ghost Yote, which I was actually surprised they didn't show Legends because that isn't out yet. So i would have expected to tease it a little more, but did not happen. And then Sean's predictions. We'd start off with a black screen voices, the Naughty Dog logo, and it was intergalactic open to to open the show. That was even at the show, which was actually that was surprising to me. Not that it didn't open, but that it wasn't even there. ah You said that there'd be a one more thing. was going to be Insomniac Miles Morales with the Green Goblin, Fantastic Four, all that good stuff. Did not happen.
00:08:34
Speaker
ah There would be exactly five PSVR games. There was exactly zero, as I said. PS All-Star Battle Royale 2. Nope. And then Resistance 3 Remastered, but not one or two. And that did not happen either.
00:08:49
Speaker
So big old- Tell me I didn't get any of those right. I know, it's crazy. I'm just learning this now. And then Summer Games Fest happened.
Summer Games Fest Predictions Review
00:08:59
Speaker
I said there'd be Death Stranding 2 DLC. There was no Kojima at all, which was a shocker because- wow That's Keely's boy. ah Final Fantasy Remake Part 3 will show up I was correct. And it is called Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, which I said last year or last week or last episode, I should say, that it would be re something, not re. So I was completely wrong. I expected it to be remake, rebirth, re something. But nope, it is Revelation. Didn't I joke around saying it was going to be Revelation? I think I joked around. yeah i think that might have been one of the set one words that we said. I was like, oh, Revelation.
00:09:33
Speaker
Yeah. ah CD project red would throw it show up. They did not. There'd be a random random Chinese made souls like game. Yep. Because there always is. and then Keeley so would would say that he has the honor of playing some game then hype it up and they'll look like the most mid game ever. That did not happen. Surprisingly, i think Healy probably learned his lessons with High Guard the year before that. He's not going to do that again. So yeah ah so that did not happen. Midnight had mass for Mass Effect 4 trailer did not show. GTA 6 trailer did not show Witcher 4 would be shown and be amazing. Did not show Owlcat Games. The Expanse or Dark Heresy Warhammer would be there. Neither of them were. And then you said that COD Modern War 4 would be there. it was not, but it was at the Xbox game show. So you get half a point there.
00:10:22
Speaker
Then Sean also thought there'd be GTA six did not. Judas would be there. Did not Nickelodeon games. Nope. There was no Pac-Man Jones game, surprisingly.
00:10:33
Speaker
ah And then you thought that key, a kingdom hearts trailer would be with a release date and show star Wars. That did not happen. And you're not getting half a point because get half a point, but not the star Wars.
00:10:45
Speaker
Well, because, mean, it doesn't really matter in the in the long run. I was going to say, because I guess Kingdom Hearts was at the direct. Yeah, give him this half point. Yeah, you can have your half point, I guess. Listen, I don't need handouts.
00:10:56
Speaker
You get a half point. Congrats, Sean. ah And then at the Xbox showcase, ah i so or Sean said Spyro 4 would be there, which it was. And I will talk about that later, obviously. And then Persona 6 teaser, which happened. I was actually kind of surprised about that one.
00:11:16
Speaker
ah You'd have the opening would be Warner changes to be a fallout remaster. I actually thought it was going to be when it first showed that TV with the logo. And then I realized it was gears, not fallout.
Xbox Showcase Predictions
00:11:25
Speaker
um So that did not happen.
00:11:28
Speaker
up of a But project Helix name reveal. And you said it'd be called the Xbox. It was not shown nor named. And then you thought there'd be a free to play multiplayer Halo game that did not have battle royale. There was Halo there, but not a multiplayer game The Midnight had Clockwork Revolution with a release window that finally was shown. Dude, when it showed in due time, I was like, are you kidding me? I was like, my God. Yeah, and then it shifted to show 2027. I was like, all right, sweet. Persona 6, maybe Persona 4, both showed up. So you get points there. That's two points.
00:12:03
Speaker
um Yeah, sure. And then ah you said Blade would be there with a gameplay and trailer. Nope. ES6 will not be at the show. You're correct. Sadly.
00:12:14
Speaker
Then Plague Tale Resonance release window and date. That was there. Looks awesome, too. It does look awesome. I said Clockwork Revolution would be there with release window. That was correct.
00:12:25
Speaker
a Halo campaign evolved release date. It is announced and way sooner than I thought it was going to be. I've guessed November, but it is coming out in July, which is awesome. ah Then Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, just saying it's on Xbox, it was not there.
00:12:41
Speaker
Next Gen Xbox was not there. They did have the X25, but that's not an X-Gen console. That's just a special edition Series X. And then there'd be something about Flight Sim, which there was because there always is.
00:12:53
Speaker
So that was a gimme point. So the, but the X-25 does look pretty cool, by the way. It does look pretty sweet. I'm not, I am actually not a, I don't like the see-through plastic like controllers and all that. a lot of people love them. I'm not big on it, but that X-25 does look really cool, but I'm not going to go back to the original Xbox. Yeah. Yeah, I'm not going to get it because I'm sure it's going to be freaking $800. And plus, I have the Halo Infinite Xbox, which is awesome looking. So I would prefer to have that anyway. but So in third place, Sean got two and a half things right between... What did you get right? Oh, yeah. You got Spyro 4 and Persona 6. So you were correct about those. We'll give you half a point for Kingdom Hearts. In second, Midnight had six points getting the Sony Santa Monica ah Clockwork Revolution Persona 6 ES6 not being there Plague Tale Resonance being in there. And then I win with seven points for having the first party game, neck ah previous gen remaster, remake, random Chinese game, Clockwork Revolution, Halo and Flight Sim. So that was a lot of fun. We did way better than we did with the ah the game awards predictions last year before we went 0 for 9. So much better, fellas.
00:14:16
Speaker
We did good. We did good. Yeah. And our scores. What was our two scores? Mine and yours. Oh, six, seven. go In theme with the episode 67. So there you go. Congrats to Hodge.
00:14:30
Speaker
ah Congrats to Sean and I for losing, but it was a lot of fun. We had fun. And the games, most importantly, were incredible. And speaking of games. Let's get into it, huh? So our main topic of discussion, we are, as I said, going to be doing our 15 favorite games overall combined from all of the showcases, including that little one that had Exodus. I forget what it was called. Future Game Showcase or something, I think. yeah Yeah. It really just had Exodus and a bunch of...
00:15:00
Speaker
Indies. But anyway, so all of that's going to be included and we're going to count down from 15 to one. Have we decided on the order? What order do we want to do here? Let's do Sean Podge Midnight.
00:15:14
Speaker
How about that? Sure. Do it. And let's get started, Sean. What is your number 15? All right. My number 15 is the game Clutch, that open-world cinematic like driving action game kind of. i just thought it looked pretty cool because usually with racing games, it's not really like a story, a part of it. And this seems to have some type of story. It's open-world. You drive it around. There's racing. But then there's also some... um
00:15:47
Speaker
they showed like those two protagonists. So yeah, I am looking, I'm i'm intrigued by this game. It looks interesting. it looks different. um So yeah, it it gave me some, just, it just gave me an interesting vibe. So yeah, that's why i had it number 15. I'm not saying I'm getting it day one here, but you know, piqued my interest.
00:16:10
Speaker
What was your game again? I'm sorry. I was making a chart. Clutch. Clutch. Okay. I don't even remember. I don't remember that. what what What show is this at?
00:16:22
Speaker
What show is this at? Clutch Game. um i remember the name. Clutch Game. I just don't remember what it was. Let's see. Oh, I do remember it now now that I'm looking at it. Okay. Yeah. Oh, yeah. I must have spaced out because Drive Fast Game, me no care. so But it has a story, so that's why I'm intrigued by it a little bit. It's different than your traditional, you know, your Forza. your traditional you know racing games here. So I'm interested in it. Looks different.
00:16:51
Speaker
All right. Yeah, good good pick. Good pick. I forgot about this game, but it does look pretty cool. yeah All right. So you're telling me you guys don't have this on your list? Sadly not.
00:17:02
Speaker
um All right, Hodge. What's your number 15? All right. My number 15, I actually originally had it as a Control Resonant, but... I've seen it so many times that I'm not going to even have it on my list. i They showed it twice this last week. I'm like, I don't need to see this game anymore. I'm already sold. So I'm not going to do that. So instead, I'm going to do 1666 Amsterdam.
00:17:25
Speaker
This was that like witch Assassin's Creed type looking game. It didn't like completely grab me, which is why it's at number 15. But it intrigued me enough that I want to keep like an eye on this one. I really do want to see more about it. And I love like that Salem, which trials era kind of setting. And so I'm very curious as to what this game is. So I'm going to have that at number 15, 16, 66
Valor Mortis Discussion
00:18:01
Speaker
All right. Good stuff. Yeah. That game does look very, very cool. Very interesting. It's either going to be awesome or it's going to be Redfall. Yeah, I know. it's It's one of those where it's like, yeah, it's either going to be like, ah i actually, I don't see this being any higher than like a 78. Like that just is what it screams to me. But I could also see it being like a 71. Like I feel like this is going to be a game that lands in the 70s, but I could be wrong. I don't know. Like I said, it's just the setting looks very interesting. So I I'm curious about it.
00:18:36
Speaker
All right. My number 15 is a game called Valor Mortis. This was at the Xbox showcase. This is like a Souls-like game set in like revolutionary France or something. And honestly, the only reason why this game is on my list is because it has Napoleon in it.
00:18:57
Speaker
And you guys know I am a big Napoleon simp. I love Napoleon. He's one of the coolest... historical figures, you know, very awesome general. He's a Chad um because he's in the game that interests me.
00:19:10
Speaker
And that's really it. It's Napoleon. So I want to see what's going on with him. The gameplay looked cool. You know, it's a souls like with guns and swords. I'm not really, I'm kind of sick of souls. Like, honestly, if Napoleon wasn't in this, this would not be on my list at all. But because it is, it's at number 15 with a cautiously optimistic eye on it.
00:19:29
Speaker
you You're talking about Napoleon Dynamite, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. What are you going to do today, Napoleon? Yeah, this is one of those games where it's probably not my type of game, but the setting is so cool. And it's a first person game that I'm like, and the the only reason I'll probably check it out is because it's an Xbox Game Pass games. So the fact that I have access to it makes me want to try it. So I'll at least give it a try, but I would not be surprised if this is a, not a Hodge game, but we will see. i am very curious about this game. Cause I remember before this was even shown, we were in, um,
00:20:08
Speaker
a couple of me, Broderick and Sean for a little bit. We were in the, uh, in voice chat. We were talking about it. And even before they showed any, like the name or anything, I was like, this looks like that valor mortis game, which looks pretty cool. Cause like, so it's one that's stuck in my memory. Cause there are times where they'll show a game that I've seen four times, but I'm like, Oh, this game looks cool. Is this new? and everyone's like, no, it's been at the showcase like six times, but and it's completely forgettable. But this one stuck with me. And yeah, again, being on game pass, I might, I might give it a try.
00:20:37
Speaker
and Okay. Yeah, good stuff. All right. ah Sean, 14. All right. Very similar to Hodge. My number 14 is his 15, and that is 1666 Amsterdam.
00:20:53
Speaker
um it's very similar i am interested i'm intrigued by like the overall premise of the game with that haji had brought up like that that uh salem witch trial that that dark the way they describe it was like dark and gritty the trailer it made it was very intriguing didn't really show much but i am interested more so in the setting not sure if it's ah the correct type of game for me but it looks it it got enough where i was like oh this
00:21:31
Speaker
Yeah. All right. Good stuff. All right. Good pick. Good pick. um All right. Hodge, what is your 14? My number 14. I won't lie. When I saw this, it seemed to be a good, too good to be true kind of game, but I wanted to include it anyway. And that's Crossfire because it has the talent from,
00:21:54
Speaker
like Infinity Ward and Respawn or what, like it was all these really talented people making this game. Graphically, it was gorgeous. But that being said with it, it it seemed a little bit...
00:22:07
Speaker
Like, I hate when they have, ah like, the gameplay demos and every moment in the thing looks so scripted. Like, they always get the person, like, in the exact way they want to kill them. It's like, that never happens in the game. It felt very, ah like...
00:22:24
Speaker
i was Speaking ah like the modern war for DMZ ah stuff they had at the, in the X-Box showcase, like it seemed very like that division game demo where it's like, everything was so perfectly scripted where everything happened as it should. And so when that happens in a demo, it makes me very iffy, but it has like a cool cast. It seems like a pretty cool concept. Again, it's graphically beautiful. So I'm very intrigued, which is why I only have it at 14, but I can't say like I'm hyped for it, but I'm just the talent behind this game wants me to give it a chance, but I would not be surprised if it's an absolute shit game. If I'm being honest.
00:23:09
Speaker
Okay. Okay. Yeah, I'm turned off by the title of the game because we've had other games come out with that name, like remember Crossfire X, and it was like dumpster fire. That's what was thinking about the entire time. I'm like, oh, Crossfire X. I'm like, is this in that same universe? Because that's not a good thing. The name is troubling, but ah yeah, it looks all right. we'll see We'll see what happens with it. We'll see.
00:23:29
Speaker
Yeah. um I'm hoping it's good, but who knows? and All right. Well, one game that will be good is my number 14, and that is Tomb Raider, the the remake, which is coming soon.
00:23:42
Speaker
What is it? Legacy of Atlantis, right? legacy yeahlantis yes Yeah. Yeah, that game looks awesome. It looks really fun, and I am looking forward to playing that soon. So Tomb Raider, my number 14. Not a new game. We are, you know, not a whole lot to say. We know about this. It looks gorgeous, though, and I can't wait.
00:24:00
Speaker
Yeah, not as soon as you'd like, though, because it was delayed until next year. but Yeah, surprisingly. Yeah, but that's fine because we have so many games. Yeah, i'm not I'm not complaining, but I completely agree. Like, I know this is a remake of a PS1, so I don't know if they're going to, like, completely update the controls for it to feel more modern or if it's just going to be PS1 game with...
00:24:20
Speaker
better skin but either way i'm very excited because as people know i love platformers and this is like that old school shooter platformer type game so i'm very very very excited for this game uh great great pick yeah all right sean How about you? hey 13? Yes. My number 13 game is a game called Banjo the Chef. This is kind of like a prequel. knew it. well I knew this would be on your list.
00:24:50
Speaker
Oh, yeah. It's like, oh, yeah. this is This is definitely a showing game. This is a prequel to Dave the Diver, which, as many people know, about probably a year and a half ago, I played Dave the Diver, and I talked about it on this podcast. I really enjoyed that game. And this, uh, Bancho was in Dave, the diver. He was not the main character, but he was character in it And this is, um, a prequel you're, you're playing as him in his younger years.
00:25:14
Speaker
And it looks really interesting. It looked very different than Dave, the diver. And the fact that you're not, you know, going out and, you know, ah diving into water and, um, Coming up and selling your various creations that you make from the ocean. But this one looks interesting. I am intrigued by it. I think this is where we i start getting into. I'm definitely probably going to play these games, these 13 games here. But yeah, Banjo the Chef. I love the art style of this game as well. So yeah, I'm excited for it.
00:25:45
Speaker
Yeah, this is like a prequel to South Park, too. This was before Chef went and joined the South Park. Yeah, how'd you know? Yeah, it's a prequel to Dave the Diver and South Park. Insane. Yeah, it's also an Origins of Scientology game. so yeah Yeah, of course. That's cool, man.
00:26:01
Speaker
Cool. I like that we have variety because that would not be on my list and Crossfire wouldn't be on my list. But see, we're mixing it up. You know, I like that. Yeah. All right. Hodge, did you have any bars for Bansho? And then you're up.
00:26:12
Speaker
No, I just, I remember when I was seeing and I'm like, well, actually my first thought of course was this is a Sean game. But my second one was, remember when we played that one game where Sean had the the thing of game that focuses on making food? I was like, oh, this would be perfect for this.
00:26:30
Speaker
But yeah, I got it. This is obviously not a me game, but I hope it's... I didn't realize it had to do with Dave the Diver. Yeah, it's a prequel, yeah. Yeah, that's pretty cool. But yeah, I got it. It's not really a prequel. It just it it just it focuses on one character, that but just in the past. So it's it's not really... like You don't have to play the Diver. Yeah, for sure.
00:26:51
Speaker
yeah for sure All right. My number 13. I'm only having it this high because I'm actually very, very intrigued in this game, but I don't know if the gameplay will be my kind of thing. And that is Vivarium, which was at the Xbox showcase. It's this very beautiful Ghibli animated, ah like I don't know what kind of game it is. Again, that's why I don't know how if the gameplay will land for me. But it's it's one of those games where they put so much care into the art style that I just have to try it for that because it looks straight up like a game made by Studio
Art Style Appreciation
00:27:33
Speaker
Ghibli. It is so beautiful that that alone has me to like, I have to play this game because I'm such, as everyone knows, I'm such a slut for good art in a game. And this is tickling my fancy like no other. So i I'm very curious. I'm pretty sure this was, yeah, this was at the Xbox showcase. So it will be on Game Pass and I will 100% be playing this game. So yeah, Vivarium.
00:27:59
Speaker
everyone charge watch Do I have a game for you? It's called Nino Cooney. yeah ni know kuoneni yeah i have I've heard nothing but good things about Nino Cooney. It's on Game Pass, I'm pretty sure. Is it? I've seen it on there. It's one I should probably get to one day. I just i just haven't. But yeah.
00:28:15
Speaker
i i Anything Ghibli looking. Yeah. i've yeah I've heard Ni No Kuni was very good too. Oh, it's awesome. Both of them. The first and the second one. They're both great. yeah Yeah. And that was actually done by Studio Ghibli, right?
00:28:28
Speaker
The first one, yes. The second one, it was just inspired by it. They didn't have the same artists who worked on it, but it looks pretty much the exactly the same. Nice. All right. Vivarium does look cool. That art style is very unique. so yeah we'll see We'll see what's going on with that soon.
00:28:44
Speaker
All right. My number 13 here. ah Stranger Than Heaven featuring Tupac. That's right. I'm excited about this. I've been excited about this game for a long time. Of course, it's from RGG Studio, one of my favorite teams, the Yakuza team and Judgment, you know, and and and strangely enough, Virtua Fighter. Very talented team. They're very diverse. ah But yeah, Stranger Than Heaven is a prequel to all the Yakuza games. It shows the founding, really, of the Tojo clan. which is the main Yakuza family.
00:29:16
Speaker
start And it goes through multiple generations and decades, like yeah in the 1900s and stuff. It looks really cool. And this game features Snoop Dogg and Tupac in it.
00:29:27
Speaker
um Which, either way, the reason why this makes sense is in an earlier reveal, they showed that ah the main character in this game is actually like half Japanese, half American.
00:29:38
Speaker
um And he travels from America to Japan. And the way he gets to Japan is he hires a smuggler crew to get him there. And that's that's where a Snoop Dogg comes in into play. Snoop Dogg is the captain or or the person for the smuggler crew. So that's how that's why he and Tupac are in Japan. So it actually kind of makes sense. if you they they They put a story to make sense why we have Snoop Dogg in 1900 Japan. But yeah, it looks awesome. I really can't wait. This is going to lot of fun, I think.
00:30:05
Speaker
Stranger Than Heaven. There you go. RGG doesn't miss. Great games. Yeah, I'm sure Tupac was a huge fan of Yakuza. he He probably was 30 years ago. No, they wasn't even out then. Yeah, some people were crashing out on Twitter about Tupac being in the game, by the way, but not me. I think it's great.
00:30:26
Speaker
and It's going fun, man, seeing Tupac in there. It's just weird to me. So weird. It is so weird. I don't care, but it's just so weird. It is weird, but it's cool, though, I think, because I was i was a fan of Tupac back in the day, and it would be cool to see him in a game.
00:30:40
Speaker
Are you the one who killed him? No, it wasn't me, man. I wouldn't kill him. I was a fan. Hey, I'm pretty sure the person who killed John Lennon was a fan. Yeah, that that's RIP John Lennon, dude.
00:30:52
Speaker
It's terrible. Yeah, he just recently passed away. Yeah, but it's still sad. I was talking about it recently with ah with my mom. She's a big Beatles fan and such a man of peace. Did he get shot or stabbed?
00:31:04
Speaker
Shot. I thought he got shot for some reason. My mom was like, he got stabbed. Anyway, Sean, what is your number 12? Or do you have but thoughts about Stranger Than Heaven? You going play it? I'm not sure. Now that would the the Tupac thing really turned me off. Did that turn you off? Something about it is so weird to me. yeah It is weird, but I'm sure it's going to be well done in the game. He's just going a character in the game. That's part of Snoop's crew.
00:31:30
Speaker
Honestly, and you're seeing the lot sco you're seeing a lot of Snoop in these these videos, but I feel like they're honestly going to play a fairly minor role in the story. um The story is mostly going to be about the actual Japanese families and the founding of the Tojo clan. What if Snoop Dogg is the leader?
00:31:45
Speaker
He's the leader of the Tojo clan. He's the first chairman. There you go. Tupac founded the Yakuza. Yeah, that'd be hilarious. It'd be terrible, but funny. All right, Sean. Next up for me is the Lost Wild. This is that like kind of like horror themed like dinosaur game that they showed where you were like stranded on an island and there was like dinosaur. I don't know. It gave very Jurassic Park vibes. And that just kind of seemed really cool to me.
00:32:17
Speaker
I love the premise of it. I love i like dinosaurs, and I think this ah this is slow it looks cool to me. So that's why I have it on there. It screams like this should this should be a VR game, like you're in VR doing this. But I don't know. I was waiting for the VR inclusion, but no no VR for this game. But it looks cool. So yeah, the Lost Wild. Okay. Well, we look we do love dinosaurs. Who doesn't? Dinosaurs are cool. This looks cool. um Not on my list, but it does look cool.
00:32:46
Speaker
and When we were originally going to do like five per showcase as like a reactions episode, I did have this on my list from that. But honestly, it was because I thought the show, the Sony showcase was bad.
00:33:02
Speaker
I did not like it. And so I was actually kind of struggling to find five games. And so I had this one on there because it kind of intrigued me, but not enough to like to go into my top 15 of the entire week of showcases. But it it it definitely intrigued me enough that I'm like,
00:33:18
Speaker
If it's ever a PS Plus game or something, maybe. But it it was a gorgeous game. I do love โ yeah, I love dinosaurs. So it did look like, yeah, horror โ I mean, Jurassic Park in itself is a bit of a horror movie but because obviously they're all getting hunted by dinosaurs. But it did โ it seemed like a cool concept. So I'm interested, but I'm not like, ooh, I can't wait for this one. But, yeah, yeah it looks it looks good. Okay.
00:33:43
Speaker
okay And your number 12. My number 12 is one we already talked about, but Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis. I, too, am so excited for this game. Again, as we've talked about, it looks the graphics are gorgeous. It's just looks I'm just excited to see like the OG Lara Croft return. I loved the games, the ah Crystal Dynamics ones, but.
00:34:05
Speaker
I OG Lara Croft is so iconic that I just, I can't wait. I can't wait to play this game. So it's a bummer. It was delayed, but at the same time opens it up for me to play all of the million other games that are coming out this year that I want to play. So I'm okay with it being delayed, but yeah. Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis. Can't wait. They could literally delay every single game that's in development for like a year, and I would be fine because I have so much in the backlog and so much to play still. It's crazy. I'm still playing Hades 2. We're suffering from success. We have too many great games. yeah um
00:34:37
Speaker
All right. Great pick, as always, of course. um My number 12. Here we go. We already talked about this one as well, guys. Can you guess which game we've already talked about that I'm excited about? 1666 Amsterdam.
00:34:49
Speaker
Yes, Sean. 1666 Amsterdam is my number 12. When they first revealed this, i actually thought, I was like, is this Assassin's Creed Hex? Because, you know, it looks very Assassin's Creed coded. And, ah you know, it takes place during the witch type stuff, it looks like. So that's super cool. And I think Hex is supposed to be the same. I'm excited for that too, by the way.
00:35:10
Speaker
But yeah, this is I think it's from one of the original creators of the first Assassin's Creed first and second, maybe. So that's why it looks very Assassin's Creed. like I think it just looks awesome. I love the setting, the characters. I'm really excited. um I don't know if they're going to nail it or not. Obviously, it's like a new team.
00:35:27
Speaker
So it could come out and be super mid or broken, but it also, they have a chance if this game actually comes out and is complete and relatively bug free, this could be something special. So we'll see. yeah I have a ah strong eye on this game. I will i will probably play this game.
00:35:42
Speaker
um Unless if it comes out and everyone's like, this is a disaster, it's busted, it's broken, it's horrible, then maybe I won't play it, but I'll probably play this game. 1666 Amsterdam. Nice.
00:35:54
Speaker
All right. Sean, what will you probably play at number 11? All right. At number 11, this is where things get really spicy because i these 11 that I have left are all like, oh, my. Like, I was like, these look f freaking insane.
00:36:11
Speaker
And, like, I was super hyped. So I'm going to start at number 11 only because we didn't really see much of it. I am super hyped, but we barely saw any of it. And I'm surprised because there was a 2026 release window on And that was Ocarina of Time Remake.
Ocarina of Time Remake Excitement
00:36:25
Speaker
That's why I had that at 11. We didn't really see anything. We really see anything. It was kind just like a straight up teaser. I am predicting we're going to get full on Nintendo, like a 20 minute direct totally focused on this game as we get closer. They'll announce the release date and we'll be at 20 minute direct. based solely on this game, but I thought looked
00:36:47
Speaker
gorgeous The art style is very intriguing. It's almost like a combination of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess. Somewhere in the middle between the two. It's very similar to Skyward Sword. So I am very intrigued by this game. I'm assuming this game is going to be on Hodges' list.
00:37:03
Speaker
Just because he likes Ocarina's time. But again, the reason why it is so low on my list is because we didn't really see anything of it. But...
00:37:14
Speaker
I am like, this is where things get like, holy crap. Like I'm so hyped. Yeah. Well, great pick. um I was really shocked that this was 2026 because they showed literally nothing. It was just like a CG yeah ah link basically. That's what, I mean, Nintendo, they oftentimes do like like a themed 15 to 20 minute direct on a game was announced a release date. You get so much more in depth on it.
00:37:40
Speaker
How hype was that when they played the first, you know, Ocarina melody or whatever? and Instantly we were like, oh my God, Ocarina of Time? yeah I was thinking it was Majora's. No, I'm kidding. Yeah, of course, Ocarina of Time. Ocarina of Time is the best Zelda game of all time for me because it's only one I've beaten.
00:37:59
Speaker
So that means that it's the best one. Yeah, that makes sense. Yeah. um Just like Pokemon X and Y is the best Pokemon. It's the only one I've beaten. Hodge, my friend, what's your number 11?
00:38:13
Speaker
My number 11, I think this game looks better than some of the games that are lower on my like farther down my list. But me voice crack me not being a huge fan of the people who make this game, just not that I think they're bad. I just it's not my cup of tea is.
00:38:32
Speaker
but it looks so good. And that is the blood of Dawn Walker. This game just looks so cool that I'm like, I know I'm not a huge CD project person, even though i know this is people who were there. It's not CD project itself. ah It just looks so cool that I'm very intrigued by this game. And so I have it at 11 just because obviously it may be one of those that i really want to play. and then I get to it. I'm like, that's not really my game. And then I kind of fall off, but I just something about this. It looks so good.
00:39:04
Speaker
I should know this, but you know, you guys know my memory. I have the memory of a goldfish sometimes. um Did you play and finish cyberpunk? I don't remember. Oh, no, you had bugs, right? ah Yeah, I bugged out and then, yeah, because it was when I went i played it at first and I just kind of got bored of it the first time I played it. i just It didn't grab me the first time. And then I went back when they updated it. And that was when I was walking down the street and cops just started randomly shooting me.
Cyberpunk 2077 Bugs
00:39:30
Speaker
I'm like, what's happening? So I just i stopped playing because of that. But with the newest like update of how they completely revamped a lot of the Spiel Street and everything, i kind I do want to go back to it one day. Yeah. Because, again, I've said this before, that city is one of the coolest settings I've ever seen in a game. It felt so real, so lived in that I do want to love that game. So I'll give it a try again one day. Yeah, and you need to realize how great CD Projekt Red is. And Witcher is probably not for you. It's too big. I've tried Witcher twice. I can't do it. I don't like Witcher 3. I'm sorry. I just don't like that game at all.
00:40:06
Speaker
All right. Well, there you go. Blood of Don Walker. Blood of John Walker. All right, we're back. Technical difficulties. My number 11 is, this is for you, Sean.
00:40:19
Speaker
This is a weeb game, and it's from Nintendo, and I've never played any game in this series, but I've always kind of wanted to. What's your guess? It's Xenoblade. It is Xenoblade. Xenoblade Genesis. This game looks pretty awesome. Doesn't it?
00:40:33
Speaker
Looks awesome. I will be talking about this later. All right. Xenoblade Genesis. You know, I've never played a Xenoblade game. I've always kind of wanted to because it's a big open world RPG, right? um But I just never have because they're stranded on the Switch and it always looked kind of stinky. And they're also huge games, I think. Aren't they like 100 plus hour games, Sean?
00:40:50
Speaker
Yeah, they're 100 plus hour games, but they're getting the Switch 2 upgrade, all three of them. so I saw that. through three yeah You can ignore X. You can ignore Xenoblade Chronicles X. Yeah. I still remember how fire and how amazing the song from the Xenoblade X trailer was at the Nintendo event. That song was incredible.
00:41:10
Speaker
Holy shit. Everyone should go listen to that. The music in the games are all Xenoblade games are awesome, too. Yeah. I recommend everybody go watch the original Xenoblade X trailer from Nintendo's E3 years ago, just because the song is fire. But anyway, yeah. Xenoblade Genesis, Sean, is my number 11 game. I've never played Xenoblade, but I think this one I might play later. I don't know though, like do I have to play the old ones? i have Is this something brand new? no I don't you know. they They didn't really allude to that. I mean, you can play Xenoblade Chronicles 3 before you play 1, you can play 3 before you play 2, but um there is like there's aspects in each game that they allude to previous games, but like they're they're all standalone stories with different characters, but you do get much more out of it if you've played all of them. I'm assuming it's going to be very similar to this, because they're not even calling it Chronicles 4. It's just called Xenoblade Genesis.
00:42:06
Speaker
So I'm assuming it's going to be similar to that. It might not even allude to the other ones. Well, graphically, it looks like a huge step up. Obviously, it looks great. It looks modern. And I'm excited. I will possibly, probably, maybe play this game. The only thing that's scaring me is the size of it, which is surprising because, you know, i do like big games. They are huge. It's a big commitment, right? They're so big, yeah.
00:42:31
Speaker
Well, there you go. That's my pick. Xenoblade Genesis. All right. Hodge, I know you're going to play that. Yeah, day one. Of course.
00:42:43
Speaker
All right. Sean, how about your number 10? All right. My number 10 is God of War Laufey or Laufey. How do I think? Yeah, it's Laufey. It's Luffy. It's Laufey. Who knows?
00:42:58
Speaker
It was funny when they first showed this. I was like, God of War 2018 remake remaster. That was a joke. But we are i the second they opened it up, it kind because there was rumors about it you know for for a while. I like, I mean, I've only played 2018 in Ragnarok. I really like Ragnarok in 2018. This looks more of like the same kind of combat, same type of a gameplay. So I am excited about that. ah you know I like you know going back to that world. The combat's really fun. It's going to be interesting to see how they deal with the story and everything. So yeah, God of War, Laofei. The trailer was way too long, though. They spent 20 minutes on it. Way too long. god, it like 20? And they said 20. And they were like 20 minutes of gameplay. It was not 20 minutes of gameplay. it was about eight minutes of gameplay, 12 minutes of weird cutscenes. Yeah.
00:43:50
Speaker
I, oh my God, I was, I was, it's the first time I've ever seen like a one more thing that, that I was like, is this done yet? i was like, I am so over this. but I will, I won't lie though. I, nothing about that game it tree intrigued me. Absolutely nothing. I have no desire to play that game. Nothing. it I play God of War for Kratos. I'm not going to play for his dead wife. I don't care. But I did see one tweet that made me laugh where it was like, ah it's like, oh, the the the very deep impact of spreading her ashes or whatever in 2018, knowing that she's just down in like hell fighting demons. It's like it ruins the the tone of the first game. Yeah.
00:44:35
Speaker
Yeah. All right. God of War, Lafe. Good stuff, Sean. This is not on my list. I have no excitement for this. um And I'm over. um I don't care about God of War. I didn't play Ragnarok. 2018, I did play NB and I thought it was good. But I don't know. It felt too long um at times. And yeah, i just i was I'm not a massive fan. But I will say, to be positive a little bit, um that the graphics and the combat look great.
00:45:03
Speaker
yeah i will say the gameplay for what little we saw of it it did look fun it looked like got good god of war yeah that yeah of
God of War: Laufey Trailer
00:45:10
Speaker
yeah of course i'm just a little bit annoyed because i really thought that we were going to get a new ip from santa monica um and we're not so but anyway one day maybe we'll get something new from cory and his his people but anyway know well enjoy sean uh hodge what's your number 10 My number 10, it's again for this high up for the same reason as Sean is Ocarina of Time. They didn't show anything. It was just a basically a logo reveal and it shows the first little part of the game where Link link is sleeping on his bed and it's like,
00:45:43
Speaker
all right, I need to see more, but I'm excited it exists because I love that game. Again, i didn't play. It was one of those games that for anyone new listening to this, I didn't play it until I was like 25. It was not a nostalgia game for me. I'd never owned an N64. So when I first played it at 25, I was like, is this going to be kind of okay? And just, you know, is our member berries what people love about this game, but no. Ocarina of Time is one of the best games ever made. And so I'm very excited to see what they do with this remake. I hope it's awesome. So I'm very excited. But again, they didn't show anything. So it's at number 10.
00:46:17
Speaker
Did they say who's developing it? It's probably internal, right? I'm sure it is. Yeah, it's just Nintendo. i'm from Nintendo EPD, maybe. I don't know. Mimodo by himself, single handedly. Yeah, he's doing it by himself on his 80s computer. All right.
00:46:32
Speaker
My number 10. Good pick, by the way. Good pick. My number 10 is Star Wars Zero Company. This is the Star Wars XCOM-like game that looks incredible. We had a big reveal at the end of this trailer. General Skywalker, Anakin Skywalker, showed him up. was Super cool. I am a Star Wars fan, as you guys know. Even more of a fan now than than in the past because I'm still playing Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes. Addicted. Love it.
00:47:02
Speaker
But I'm not going to talk about that game today. But yeah, Star Wars Zero Company looks awesome. You know, you got your crew, very diverse lineup of Star Wars characters. You got a Mandalorian, a Jedi, all kinds of stuff, right? But it's cool, man.
00:47:16
Speaker
It's pretty cool, man. ah You know, you just get it on there. It's going to have an awesome story, I think. And you're going to do these little stages, tactical battles where you take out the enemy. And it's just going to be fun. I'm to have a good time.
00:47:27
Speaker
That's what I predict. Star Wars Zero Company. Yeah, it's one of those things that I'm happy for the people who like this type of game. It's just that type of game does not appeal to me at all. So I'd have no excitement for it. But for those of you who do love that XCOM type gameplay, I'm very excited for you guys, too, because it does in terms of what those games are. It does look good. I mean, I wouldn't have too much of a base of knowledge for it, but yeah. It looks cool. I'm happy. It looks good for those who are excited for Because I know of people in our Discord, we're all hyped because they all like this type of gameplay. And I'm like, oh, you're not going to play? play for General Skywalker. You can play on journalism mode. It won't be hard. No, I'm good. I'm going to call Star Wars Sons.
00:48:11
Speaker
All right. All right. there sons yeah Star Wars versus Rabbids. All right, Sean, you are up next, sir. Speaking of Rabbids, Rayman is not on my list. I've never played Rayman game. Actually, I played one Rayman game. it was a lot of fun. It was a very fun game.
00:48:31
Speaker
That's just something I'll miss me. All right, next up on my list is Until Dawn 2. This was a real surprise. like i i did not see this coming at all. um I thought this looked sick. I thought it looked really cool. The whole premise is really cool. You're on like this stranded island. There's different people, vacation. i thought it looked awesome.
00:48:50
Speaker
I played Until Dawn for the first, ah well, I tried to play it originally when it came out, it never clicked with me, and then I played it again and couple years ago, and it really clicked me, I really liked it, so I am looking forward to another chapter in this saga. I like how they're they're calling it Until Dawn 2, but has literally no connection to the past characters and past events. other psychiatris yeah except Yeah, so i am I am very excited for this game, Until Dawn 2. Yeah, I just can't wait for Until Dawn 2, the movie, to come out. Oh, yeah. better
00:49:23
Speaker
That'll be fire, I'm sure. yeah. All right. Hodge, your number nine. Yeah, it's going be on my list later, so I don't want to say too much, but it looks awesome. I can't wait. What is your number nine, sir? Oh yeah. Again, a game that's higher up. This one's also higher up just because I've seen it a few times already, but that's clockwork revolution. I cannot wait for this game. It looks a like I, I like RPGs, but obviously I'm not like a diehard into them, but this one, just that like Bioshock infinite look to it. I am so in, I am so excited for this game. I hope it's awesome. And crazy enough, Xbox exclusive did not expect that to happen. But that's really cool. Gives me an excuse to, i mean, I play my Xbox all the time anyway, so it's not like I'm dusting it off or anything, but I can't wait for this. And it's next year. So pumped. Clockwork Revolution looks amazing. Cannot wait.
00:50:19
Speaker
Yeah. Xbox rev reversing the decision to go multi-platform, I guess, bringing back
Clockwork Revolution Xbox Exclusive
00:50:25
Speaker
exclusives. um I actually heard that um Asha and Matt Booty tried to bring back Fable and some other game to make them exclusive. um But they unfortunately, there's like contractual things that they weren't able to. it's not surprising i feel like games that are more close to release they probably can't undo like the production and all that kind of stuff like yeah that makes sense but yeah well they did with gears gears i'm pretty sure has like a working playstation copy and they were just like nope but anyway i i have a feeling these games will eventually come to playstation though i don't see them being like forever exclusives but
00:51:05
Speaker
they said that they They said that they will never come to PlayStation. like They literally said that. oh so kind Who knows? um Sean, you were excited for Clockwork. Are you still going to play it?
00:51:17
Speaker
Yeah, definitely. I'll still play it. Play it on Xbox or PC? Yeah, it looks awesome. It's not on my list because we've just We've seen it a couple times. That's why it's high up, because I'm very hyped for this game, but I added it at 9, because we've seen a handful of times already. Yeah, I do think it sucks for the PlayStation fans, because they won't be able to play it now, because this game looks awesome. So I'm not celebrating its exclusivity. I think exclusivity sucks, but it makes sense. If you want to convince people to buy your plastic box, you kind of have to entice them. But yeah, I think the game looks awesome. So great pick.
00:51:50
Speaker
Great pick. My number nine, Sean, is also Until Dawn 2. That's why I didn't say anything. This game looks awesome. This was actually my number one game from the state of play. Most excited. Until Dawn 2, I was really excited when I saw this. um You know I like those narrative games with choices. I'm a sucker for that, dude. I grew up reading those choose-your-own-adventure books. You guys probably were those are probably weren't even a thing. probably anywhere and they were and They were in the school library, right yeah.
00:52:19
Speaker
Yeah, like those were really cool back in the day before video games were as awesome as they are today. Now we have video games. But ah yeah, wouldd be like you'd make a choice and then turn to page 67 to see the result. Hey, 67. Anyway, but yeah, Until Dawn 2 looks awesome. I can't wait to play an awesome, creepy kind of story and make choices and see how many people I get killed by mistake. oh Yeah, this will be fun. Until Dawn 2 was a surprise, but a pleasant one.
00:52:46
Speaker
Dude, I still remember from the first one making one move that I swore was the right move and the person died. And I was like, no! Dang it! No! Damn it. All right.
00:52:59
Speaker
ah Sean Mason, number eight. All right. Number eight for me is Persona 6. Yeah. Persona 6. Yeah. I like Persona. I'm not the biggest Persona fan here.
00:53:12
Speaker
Well, in general, I'm not the biggest. Like, ah in general, I'm not the biggest Persona fan. I do like Persona, but I am excited for sixth installment. It's been almost 10 years since Persona 5, which is insane to think because it feels like yesterday. Yeah.
00:53:28
Speaker
So I am excited for it. It showed up at the Xbox show, which is nice. Xbox getting a little little cozy with the Atlas team. They've been doing that over the last few years. So yeah, Persona 6, it looks more, just some more like more Persona. So yeah, um i yeah I'm excited.
00:53:47
Speaker
Yeah. So am I. So am I. I'll talk about that later, probably. um Hodge, you have thoughts about Persona? You're not a fan. You don't care. I promise you guys I will play one of them one day. They look so cool. Like I just for. Yeah, I know. I've heard four. I've wanted to do three just because the best one I've heard five is the best one. Like it's it's I don't know which one I own all of them because I bought they had came out like the trilogy was. Trust me. Trust me. Do four.
00:54:15
Speaker
or You can do the remake. It's coming. i will yeah That's the thing. is i also i mean If I have the urge to play it before the remake comes out, I'll play it before the remake comes out. But I might yeah just wait for... Was it Revival or something like that? for yeah Well, Golden is incredible, too. I played it on Game Pass on Series X. and Our favorite characters. i own yeah I own all three. I own three and four and five. So i'm like I can play... I just...
00:54:42
Speaker
I love the art style of that game. Again, I'm such a slut for a good art style. You can just play Persona 1. I'm sure you'll love it. Yeah. Who knows? I almost played all the way through Danganronpa just because I love that art style and that plot. But I just could the gameplay I could not do for Danganronpa, been there. But I just love that kind of stuff So yeah I promise I will play one of these one day I bought Danganronpa because Meatball wouldn't shut up about He's like it's so good It was like $3 or something so I bought it The story is good I cannot play that game I don't like the visual novel stuff I don't like visual novels either But the story I've literally debated buying the manga just to read it Because I'm like I really want to hear that Like read that story but I just I don't want to play the game
00:55:33
Speaker
But game. Well, what is your number eight? Number eight. Let me guess. Let me guess. let me guess. magicians the devil's deal no no okay uh it senua so as people know i actually am a fan of the hellblade games they're not perfect by any stretch they're not i wouldn't even say the gameplay that great like but i love that world i love the stories and i will say this one i was surprised they only call it senua don't know maybe hellblade just is not a bankable title. like They're just like, screw it, we're not doing that. But i will say this trailer showed off so much gameplay. I was like, I think that's what they're really trying to focus on. they want it Because that's been everyone's complaint, is that they're six-hour, basically, playable cutscenes. That's what both games are. And so I feel like this one, they're actually going to try and make it an action game, which is why I think they're doing the rebrand from Hellblade to just calling it Senua.
00:56:28
Speaker
So I just think this looks... I really hope this is a very... like good game that everyone wants to play or that actually gets its, uh, its, uh, bars for its gameplay. So it looks awesome. Obviously these games are gorgeous. I don't know if there's a better looking game than the, like Senuous, uh, sacrifice. Is that what the second one was? I can't remember, but, um,
00:56:51
Speaker
Yeah, I'm just I'm very excited to see what this game is. And I hope it's good because as someone who enjoyed the first two, even though knowing that there's many things wrong with them, I hope this one's awesome. So I'm looking forward to sending you.
00:57:07
Speaker
Hodge, it's funny, we were in the voice chat when they this game came up and we we immediately both, we immediately said like they are definitely learned from their lesson. They're showing so much gameplay. And but we joked around, we did say, oh, this is all the gameplay in the game. Yeah. Right now. Yeah.
00:57:24
Speaker
Yeah, they definitely learned their lesson. I think we're going to get a ton gameplay in this. Yeah, I think so too. Yeah. Good pick. Good pick. Yeah, it's funny when Ninja Theory was purchased by Xbox. I remember a lot of people thought that like they were going to make Xbox's God of War. Like that's what people were thinking. Hellblade 2 was going to be Xbox's God of War because they they thought they would take the Hellblade first one and then just give it better
Senua's Saga: Hellblade II Gameplay Analysis
00:57:49
Speaker
and more combat. And there you go. You kind of have God of War. but slightly different setting, obviously. But but nope, that didn't happen when Hellblade 2 came out. It was a walking sim, pretty much. But now, this trailer actually was giving me God of War vibes, like the gameplay and stuff. like She was like kind of like doing all the sword moves and air juggling people. it kind of looked God of War combat-esque. I don't know. It looked really good. So we'll see. Maybe they are finally trying to deliver Xbox's God of War, which I'm not a huge God of War fan.
00:58:17
Speaker
So we'll see if I like this one. But it looks cool. was going to x X is going to give it to you. My number eight pick, Sean, you need to stop copying me. copying me All right. Two games in a row.
00:58:30
Speaker
Persona six is my number eight pick. Yeah. Well, yeah you copied me, but you just happened to go first is all. So Sean's copying me again. Persona 6 is also my number eight game. Finally, I was right.
00:58:44
Speaker
For the last three years, I predicted that Persona 6 was going to be at the Xbox event. I've been wrong twice in a row, but here it was. We didn't see anything. It was really weird. All they showed was like a very creepy atmosphere, which is unique for Persona because they're not usually that creepy. Three was a little dark, but not like this.
00:59:02
Speaker
I actually thought it was going to be Shin Megami Tensei at first because it was so dark looking and creepy. But no. Persona 6, we saw nothing, but I'm still excited because it's Persona. And Persona makes, ah or Persona is a great franchise. So there you go.
00:59:18
Speaker
Can't wait. Yeah. Nice. Alright, we already talked about it. Sean Mason, back again. More technical issues. The CIA is trying to take out Sean and his black site. But what is your number seven game, Sean? My number seven game is The Magician's the Devil's Deal. This game looks sick. I thought it really cool. a combat looked really interesting with like the the first person magician aspect. It looked very unique. I thought the premise was really cool where the crowd all turns into these like devil-like creatures and It just looks like, like daunting and scary, but at the same time, it looked really cool. um
00:59:58
Speaker
But yeah, I am excited for it. When it when it first came up, me and Hodge were both like, oh, my is this clockwork? We thought it was like kind of, and but then we knew that the studio was different. So we're like, what is this game? It looks cool. That that combat looked cool. But yeah, like I said, Magician's the Devil's Deal.
01:00:16
Speaker
All right. Yeah. Good stuff. This game is an honorable mention for me because it does look really cool. I almost put it at 15 instead of Valor Mortis, but, you know, Napoleon. so but this looks cool. My eyes are definitely on it.
01:00:29
Speaker
Might play that. We'll see. Hodge. Yeah, I will talk about that later, but it looks I'm so intrigued. Everything about that, that setting, it was very, yeah, clockwork, Expedition 33, like, very, vi I love that vibe, and yeah, I'm very, I'm excited for it, but I'll talk about it more later. But my number seven is a little game called crazy taxi. I think it's world tour or something like that. But I was, I will say i wasn't, I did play crazy taxi back the day. Not, not too much, but what I did play a lot of was the Simpsons road rage, which is basically a crazy taxi ripoff. And so as much as I would love Simpsons road rage to come back instead of this, this looks so awesome. had like the offspring playing while it was happening. I'm like, Oh my God. Like it's such it. This is a game that deserves to live because it was such a good, like arcade game. It was just so dumb. Just had the awesome music plan. All it was, was you deliver people to their spots in the weirdest ways you can. And it, it looks so much fun. So I am 100% in on ah a new crazy taxi game. I am. I, I, yes, I want to play this game really badly. All right.
01:01:39
Speaker
Yeah, good one. Not on my list, but it does look cool. I do remember playing, funny enough, actually, I used to play Crazy Taxi at work. I worked at Funco Land, which was like GameStop. I had a Funco Land in my hometown. Yeah, yeah when this game you know was out and we we had a Dreamcast, of course, at Funco Land. And yeah, like when there was no customers in the store, like me and my friend, we'd just be playing Crazy Taxi on
Replaying Ocarina of Time
01:02:02
Speaker
there. It was great. um But yeah, that that sounds, that looks exciting. Looks cool. So good pick.
01:02:08
Speaker
all right My number seven is a game that we've already talked about. Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. I'm excited about this game. It looks incredible. Well, from what we saw, which was very little. But yeah, obviously one of the best games of all time.
01:02:25
Speaker
And I'm looking forward to going back and playing it again. Now, I don't know when I will play it because we're so damn busy that this might get pushed down the list since it is a remake. and I've already played it, but it's going to get played for sure at some point.
01:02:38
Speaker
Ocarina of Time. That's all I got. right. Good. Yeah, we've already talked about it. It's going to great. and No doubt going be great. Like, going be awesome. Heck yeah. There's no way. Yeah, no way Nintendo half-asses a remake of one of the greatest games of all time. Yeah. and thats That's not happening.
01:02:56
Speaker
So, Sean, you're up with number six. All This is kind of a two for one here. this is the Cuphead Adventure plus the Cuphead sequel on here. Just this art style. So cool. The presentation was so cool with that puppet-like creature like ah presenting it.
01:03:10
Speaker
I really like the original Cuphead. And that Cuphead Adventure looks cool because it it looked more focused on 2D levels, like actual side-scrolling levels, rather than just kind of like... They had a couple 2D levels, but they kind of were like half-baked, and then it was more so just focused on the boss levels. So, yeah, I'm excited for that. I actually was more excited for that 8-bit Cuphead adventure, which they're actually making a cartridge to go on the Sega Master System that will actually work in a Master System, which is really cool.
01:03:38
Speaker
Really? yeah Yeah, they're doing that, which is pretty cool. Wow. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know how many they're making, but that seems pretty cool. So yeah, I am excited for both of these games. But again, everyone was more excited for the Cuphead sequel. I'm more excited for that 8-bit Cuphead adventure game.
01:03:56
Speaker
All right. That's awesome. Yeah, that game does look cool. I love the art style, of course. But that's all I got to say for that one. How about you, Hodge? And you're up with number six. Yeah, i Cuphead, it's one of those that I wanted to play so badly because I love that. that It's like entirely hand-drawn. That is so cool to me. ah But I've heard how hard it is, and I'm like, i don't know if I want to put myself through that. But that 8-bit game, it just reminded me of the SNES so much.
Cuphead Adventure Game
01:04:25
Speaker
like It looks exactly like those games. And the fact that they're actually putting it on Master System is so cool. I did not know that. but Yeah, it was pretty cool, yeah.
01:04:35
Speaker
Yeah, and the fact that they do that, that they make it that 8-bit game, but it still has that look of that old 20s cartoon. it ah it's It looks so cool, but yeah it's it's one of those games I have the utmost respect for, but I just know I'd get my ass kicked if I played them, so I just i just never have. Yeah. What I think that 8-bit, the Cuphead Adventure game looks pretty cool is that the fact that I think they're focusing much more on like a 2D platforming rather than just boss fights.
01:05:03
Speaker
Yeah, the boss rush or whatever yeah gameplay. Yeah. Yeah. I hope I, I might give it a try one day, but I'm not promising anything. It's hard to be complete co-op. Cuphead.
01:05:14
Speaker
There you go. It can carry me to victory. Oh, no, if you play two player, it it it definitely is like you need both. the Both players need to be like on top of their game. Oh, does it like scale up to having? Yes. Yeah. OK.
01:05:28
Speaker
okay All right. Number six.
Resident Evil Veronica Remake
01:05:33
Speaker
Number game. i remember people talked about, will they make this game or will they not? And that is Resident Evil Veronica. I've obviously never played Code Veronica. I've only ever played the remakes of the Resident Evil games and obviously the the new ones. ah And so seeing this hype me up like immediately, like, oh, we're getting this one because I've always heard good things about Code Veronica. So I'm very excited that they're going with remaking this game. I hope it's as amazing as, you know, two and four are. Three obviously exists, but I hope this game is awesome. I cannot wait. It was obviously of
01:06:11
Speaker
Mostly CGI trailer. I was surprised it was first person, though, because i know all the other remakes have been the proper... third person game so I'm surprised this one was first because I remember when it started the trailer started I was like it looks like Resident Evil but I would be shocked that they're showing a new Resident Evil game all like like an RE10 because obviously Requiem just came out this year so it'd be crazy but it's a remake one so I don't know weird that's first person but it looks incredible so I will 100% be playing this game so yeah Resident Evil Veronica Resident Evil
01:06:50
Speaker
yeah right on yeah this is an honorable mention for me as well it does look great um i'm just not the biggest resident evil fan because i don't like spoops that much but uh obviously i did enjoy nine it was great so i might play this one day but uh yeah good pick definitely looks cool yeah um and yeah i don't mind that it's for first person is the correct way to play resident evil i feel like if you're playing in third person that seems weird to me but Who knows? What do I know?
01:07:17
Speaker
It depends on the game. Because I played first. The originals were in third person, weren't they? I don't remember. Well, yeah, it was like the tank controls. It was like a top-down view more than... It wasn't like ba behind over the shoulder. But um I will say i any RE that's built in third person, I play third. If it's built for first, I play it in first. That's how I've always played them. So 9 was a little different because it was built for both. So I did kind of swap between the two. it i liked them in both, but... Yeah, I i just play it how however it's built.
01:07:48
Speaker
right um If Veronica is built for first person, I'll be playing it in first person for sure.
Fable Game Anticipation
01:07:53
Speaker
all right My number six here, and now we are getting to the absolute bangers. My six through one are all masterpiece games, trust me. All right, number six is going to be Fable.
01:08:05
Speaker
Fable looks awesome, I can't wait. Sad that it got delayed, but it is what it is. And they also released like a 30 minute gameplay video, which I did not watch because I don't want to spoil anything for me, but I heard that it looked awesome.
01:08:18
Speaker
um So I'm really excited for Fable. Fable is incredible. Playground Games is an awesome studio. This is going to be 90 plus banger on Metacritic. Trust me. Trust me, bro. Book it. is book it is Book it. There you go. Fable, number six. Cannot wait.
01:08:35
Speaker
You guys have thoughts on this? You might later. um I actually didn't include it on my list just because it' it just because we've seen it so many times already. like i am I'm very excited for this. like i ah We talked about it i don last time it was shown. And like I've said, this game looks so cozy. Even though this was a darker trailer, I was actually surprised. i didn't realize it was Fable at first until obviously they showed Playground. but Because it was a very tonally different cutscene or ah like trailer so it looks incredible but like I said this game looks so cozy it looks it looks I'm just kind of scrolling through the gameplay right now it's it looks awesome I'm so excited for this and I know that Jack of Blades or whatever the character is back I only knew who it was because when we did a squad over long ago Don had it in his list of as like one of the top villains or whatever so That's the only reason I knew who it was, but yeah, I'm excited. I'm so excited for this game. Yeah. Bummer. It's delayed till next year, but I'm not going to complain about that. it I'm going to play it when it comes out. i can't wait. So. Yeah, this game looks awesome. Can't wait.
01:09:42
Speaker
I watched the gameplay and it looked freaking awesome. That's all I'll wait. I'm looking at it right now. Like, I'm going through this town. it just reminds me of going through those little towns in Hogwarts Legacy. Like, it's that cozy, like, feeling. And it looks... I can't wait. It looks so Yeah.
01:09:58
Speaker
Fable always had, like, a kind of a cozy British yeah humor warmth to it. Yeah, so... All right. Why don't we, for the audio listeners now, we're about to enter the top five. Let's do a recap here. Sean, you want to recap your 15 through six?
01:10:13
Speaker
Yeah, I got F15, Clutch, then 1666, Amsterdam, Banjo the Chef, The Lost Wild, Ocarina of Time, God of War, Laufey, Until Dawn 2, Persona 6, Magicians, The Devil's Deal, and Cuphead Adventure and the Cuphead sequels.
01:10:27
Speaker
All right. hige How about you? 15666 Amsterdam, then Crossfire, Vivarium, Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis, The Blood of Dawnwalker, Ocarina of Time Remake, Clockwork Revolution, Senua, Crazy Taxi World Tour, and Resident Evil Veronica.
01:10:45
Speaker
All right. And I have at 15 Valor Mortis and then Tomb Raider, Stranger Than Heaven, 1666 Amsterdam, Xenoblade Genesis, Star Wars Zero Company, Until Dawn 2, Persona 6, Ocarina of Time Remake, and then Fable.
01:11:02
Speaker
All right, boys. We're getting into the bangers. The top five. Sean, take it away. Number five. All right.
Spyro: A Realm Reborn Excitement
01:11:09
Speaker
My number five was a prediction I got right, and that Spyro, A Realm Reborn. um This was...
01:11:16
Speaker
awesome. I'm so happy. I'm happy Hodge. I'm happy that we're getting a new proper Spyro. None of that crap we got from ah after Spyro 3. This looked really good. It looked like the classic Spyro, more traditional Spyro. So yeah, I'm really excited for this game. I'm glad they're good they gave it to Toys for Bob. Toys for Bob is developing it, so I'm happy about that.
01:11:37
Speaker
yeah Yeah. Cool. Cool. Yeah, it looks great. I'm just happy for Hodge and you. so Hodge, you're up. What is yours? Number five. yeah My number five is Gears of War E-Day. I was intrigued by this when they announced it because obviously I love the original trilogy. I still have never played four or five. I need to eventually. But this opening, I didn't watch the the direct really, but that opening of the showcase where they showed that gameplay itself.
01:12:11
Speaker
It looks incredible. I am so excited for this game. now Like at first, so like I said, I was intrigued, but now I'm just straight up pumped for this game. It looks so good. i love that because I love obviously like the post-apocalyptic type games like Last of Us, all that. I love those games, but I really love when when you're there while it's happening, like seeing the city actually fall apart, seeing the emergence day happen.
01:12:37
Speaker
It looks so cool. I'm... i'm Thousand percent sold on this game. It looks incredible. So yeah, Gears War E-Day. So pumped. Right on. Yeah, good good pick. Not on my list. ah Not a massive Gears fan, although I played two like crazy, like hundreds and hundreds of hours of two. But the other ones I didn't really get into. But I will admit that it looks incredible, graphically stunning. The gameplay looked really good, really fun. So I'm sure this game is going to be a banger. It just it it again makes me mad, though, be that the Coalition, they were working on a new IP and it got canceled. And I'm just mad about that because the Coalition,
01:13:15
Speaker
is one of the best studios in the world when it comes to Unreal Engine. like they work you know They work really close with Epic, obviously working on Gears, which was originally an Epic game. Epic obviously makes Unreal Engine. um they've also They did the demos. like They did the the demo from the Matrix demo, and they did another demo. So like they're just masters of the craft of Unreal Engine, and I would love to see a new IP from them with their mastery of the you know the graphics and the engine. But anyway...
01:13:43
Speaker
We got Gears of War E-Day and it looks great. So there we go. My number five pick is
Game Exodus Comparison
01:13:50
Speaker
Exodus. This game looks awesome. I cannot wait. This is Mass Effect 4 before we get Mass Effect 4. It looks like exactly Mass Effect, and I'm i' for it. I don't care. like They got almost all the same stuff in there. like The gameplay and the combat look super similar. They got Paragon and Renegade is back. you know You can play it twice. You can be evil in one, and you can be good in the other and probably get different outcomes. It was cool. They showed you making choices on whether, like,
01:14:15
Speaker
shoot somebody or not or do this or do that and it's all I'm here for it man I can't wait romance is in the game they confirm so romance bros are back that's good so I'm looking forward to this man Exodus is going to be so fun that's a day one game for me I'll be pre-ordering it and I'll be playing it and it's going to be incredible
01:14:37
Speaker
yeah the only reason I didn't have this on my list is because I didn't watch the game I need to go back and actually watch that uh The trailer and gameplay stuff they had for it. Cause this game does look awesome. it It looks super cool. So I'm excited for it too. I just forgot that that showcase or no, that showcase happened on Saturday while I was working. Cause yeah, I remember I got, I worked like 11 hours on Saturday. So I was, I was beat to crap and i just never got around to watching it after I got off work. So I'll watch it eventually, but I, yeah.
01:15:08
Speaker
So pumped for this game. All right. Sean. Yeah. It looks cool. Um, Yeah, um I'm excited. I am probably most likely play this game.
01:15:19
Speaker
Yeah, it looks great. I'll play it before I play in the Mass Effect trilogy. There you go. Well, hey, whatever you want. ah What about your number four then? my number four is xenoblade genesis i am a huge xenoblade chronicles fan i love oh we're going from exodus to genesis um yeah yeah um no but i'm a huge fan of the xenoblade games like i i love chronicles one two and three um i think they're a tremendous jrpgs some of the best jrpgs ever ever played i think chronicles 2 is like the chronicniles two is the toughing game falls time for me and chronicles 3 is right there i do like chronicles 1 not as high on it um but i i am so hyped for this game because they had been rumored to be making a new ip the studio and the rumor was they were going away from xenoblade so i am excited that they're staying in the xenoblade universe i think these games are amazing like they're not like you said they are 100 hour rpg masterpieces though uh they do such a good job with the writing and all the different characters they take such care and um
01:16:22
Speaker
the dialogue and all the different quests and the stories are gut wrenching. And, but then they have like ah the lighthearted humor. It is a full on journey. It's almost like reading a book where you get so much out of it. So I am really excited and really excited to see more because theyre they don't have the Chronicles name in it. So I am looking really looking forward to it.
01:16:42
Speaker
All right. Yeah. Right on. So am i as we mentioned earlier. All right, Hodge, what is your number four, sir?
Until Dawn 2 Reveal
01:16:49
Speaker
Number four game we talked about before, but that is until dawn too. I was not expecting to see this game.
01:16:56
Speaker
Well, ever really. I just was not expecting it. And cause remember while it was happening, I was like, Oh, this looks like, I thought it was could be like a quarry or a man of Madonna or whatever those are called. Like those, i thought it was gonna be one of those where it's like, it's an until dawn type game. but dawn picture anthology Yeah. I thought it was gonna be that until they showed the therapist. I'm like,
01:17:18
Speaker
Oh, it's on. It is until dawn. That is awesome. But the only complaint I had about this reveal is they showed like half the characters how they die. I'm like, I don't want to know that. Like, that's the point of the game is you don't know what's happening. Like you, cause you make the decision. So like one of them is the guy pushes or push just pushed off the cliff it's like, push them run past them whatever. And then if you push him, he lands on a rock and dies. I'm like, okay, well now I know how that person can die in the game. Like that.
01:17:47
Speaker
why Why would you spoil that for me? That's that's dumb. Just show spoopy people running through forest being scared. Like, I don't need to see the action of the choices. Like, let me play that when it comes, because that's the most important part of the game. Let me do that later. But I'm still so excited. I love the first Until Dawn game. I still need to play, like, the quarry and those dark pin...
01:18:08
Speaker
dark picture ones even though obviously i've heard they're not nearly as good as until dawn but i'm yeah i'm so pumped this was this was by far my favorite game from the sony showcase i mean it was a low bar to clear because thought that showcase was really bad but this game yeah looks so good so i'm pumped for it until dawn too yeah right on cat's excited too Our fourth host. All right. um Moving on. My number four pick in this. Ooh.
01:18:38
Speaker
Ooh, this game. I was so excited about this game. i Somehow it's had number four. How is this number four? Jesus.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation Hype
01:18:44
Speaker
Final Fantasy VII Revelation. Cannot wait. This game looks amazing. Everything looks incredible about it.
01:18:53
Speaker
I just can't wait. It's going to be so good. um They showed awesome caught new costumes and stuff, too. tifa was looking ooh Tifa was looking peak in that outfit, I got to say. That's one of the best outfits I've ever seen. Oh, yeah. Gooners are back on that one. But, yeah, can't wait. Can't wait to play with my girl Yuffie again. Can't wait to play with the whole crew. Everyone's back. You can play with ah Vincent Valentine finally. That looks that looks f freaking sweet.
01:19:19
Speaker
This game is going to be so awesome. It's beautiful. We're going to wrap up the story. It's going to be a great time. I just can't wait. they this game looks like absolute peak i wouldn't be surprised if this is going to be our game of the year again when it comes out but we'll see because uh it's coming out next year so dude seeing seeing wu tai made me so happy i was like oh they're actually because i what the way they introduced yuffie and uh in remake out or technically rebirth uh or uh yeah integrate integrate yeah in into the other back Yeah, the way they introduced her, i was like, oh, are they going to skip the U-Tai part ah or Wu-Tai part of her? But no, we're going there. And it looked awesome. like It's a pretty small level in the original game. And going through that whole like city, oh that looks really sweet. I saw a side-by-side image of the original compared to like what they know what they showed. It was like night and day. Yeah. Well, you know I'm excited about that. i am the world's number one Yuffie fan, so
01:20:18
Speaker
yeah There you It's going be great. All right. Sean, you got thoughts or your number three is a, I'm going to talk about it a little bit. My number three is a final fantasy resonance. So this is that 2d HD final fantasy game. This freaking blew my mind. They showed it at Nintendo Drive. I was like, what is this? So we got that 2D HDR style that I love, and it's set in the it's set in... It's like a Final Fantasy game. We got that little... ah At the end there, we got that little so um that little like um teaser of cloud showing up. So people have... um

Talked about how there's some like a mobile game and they think it might be like similar to what they did with Octopath Traveler Zero, where it's kind of like they incorporate some of the stuff for the mobile game, but they also have like some newer stuff in it. So I am so excited for this though, because like I love the 2D HD traditional turn-based combat and it's a Final Fantasy game. So I'm hyped. Imagine if they had just called this Final Fantasy 17, how mind but blown that would have been. But no, this this this really blew me away. I was shocked by this. So I am hyped for it.
01:21:22
Speaker
yeah Yeah, this one does look cool. It was surprising. So this will be an honorable mention for me as well. I do love the HD 2D artwork, of course. So yeah, that this will be cool.
01:21:34
Speaker
What about you, Hodge? You got thoughts on that? And then you have your number three. Yeah, it's an honorable mention for me. the I love that art style, for with the way this game looks. Obviously, as I've talked about,
01:21:45
Speaker
2D HD all kind of looks the same to me now at this point, but this looks so incredible. Like it looks very heavily animated despite being the 2D like pixel art. and It looks, it looks so cool. I am, I don't know if, if, when I'll get around to this game, but I do love the look of it. It looks amazing.
01:22:05
Speaker
Yeah, it looks awesome. i this night Yeah. So anyway, my number three. and This is one that you thought I'd have on it earlier, but it's way farther down my list. And that is Magician's The Devil's Deal. Yeah, this game, i like we were watching it and i was like, is this clockwork? is this Is this expedition? Like, what is this? And then just kind of the reveal of everything happening. i' just It also gave me... um vibes of don't know if either of you have seen these movies, but um ready or not, it had that very like old school, like 1800s thing. And yeah, I don't know this game.
01:22:48
Speaker
Because at first I was like, the setting already had me sold. I loved the art style. But then when it at the end of it it actually cuts to the the first person, like Bioshock, but magic kind of gameplay, I was like, okay and I'm sold. I'm 1000% sold on this game. It looks incredible.
Magician's The Devil's Deal Interest
01:23:03
Speaker
It would have been number one on my list, if not for obviously two more ahead of it. But my top ah yeah five are the games I'm like,
01:23:12
Speaker
hyped for. So yeah, this game, I hope, I really hope this is more Bioshock Infinite, less we happy few in terms, oh, we lost Sean again. He'll come back. Let's keep going.
01:23:24
Speaker
Yeah. ah But yeah, I'm just, it looks so good. I really hope this doesn't come out and it's like it had the, you know, the chance of being good, but instead it's a 65. Like I'm really hoping that's not the case, but yeah, this looks absolutely awesome.
01:23:42
Speaker
All right. And we are back. By we, I mean Hodge and I. Unfortunately, Sean's internet died. Rest in peace. So we will be finishing this episode without him. But don't worry, we do have his games. So we will reveal his awesome games. um I am up right now with the number three game.
01:24:01
Speaker
And this game is going to be Clockwork Revolution, Hodge. This game is going to be awesome. We already know it. Cannot wait. We've already talked about it. In Exile is an amazing studio.
Clockwork Revolution Anticipation
01:24:13
Speaker
They make insanely great RPGs with lots of choices and consequence. And, you know, I'm all about that. So I can't wait to see like where the story goes and how you can twist and turn it. And if it's got replayability, the whole time loop element is just freaking awesome. It looks like a Bioshock kind of. It looks awesome. Cannot wait.
01:24:33
Speaker
Clockwork Revolution is my number three game. Dude, I can't say enough of it. looks so good. Yeah, definitely. Oh, man. All right. And then Sean is up at number two, and his number two game is Kingdom Hearts 4. Now, Sean's very excited about this game because he's a weeb, and he loves Disney, and he loves Kingdom Hearts.
01:24:58
Speaker
So there you go, Kingdom Hearts 4. Now, I don't care about this. What are your thoughts on this Yeah, I didn't include it um because they basically just expanded on the trailer. They showed us like 17 years ago and nothing new is really โ it's just โ I hate the art style change. Apparently everyone is like, oh, there's an excuse for it because he's in a different universe. and but I'm like, I don't care. i liked that he used to look like he belonged in a Disney movie. Like that's what Sora used to look like. Like โ the Final Fantasy and Disney mended blended together so well that you could it looked like the same thing. And now that they're doing like Kingdom kingdom Hearts Final Fantasy XV graphics, I'm like, or like art style, it just, it doesn't look good to me. i I'm still excited for this game. And obviously once they introduce, ah you know, the other worlds, hopefully it does. I don't know. Cause
01:25:57
Speaker
Sora from the first three games, you know, the first three numbered games, obviously there's 17 games, but the first three numbered games, like when he goes to like the frozen world or Hercules or any of the Disney worlds, he looks like he belongs there. Like it, it I don't see how this like hyper realistic Sora showing up on Mount Olympus to fight with Hercules is going to look good.
01:26:20
Speaker
Like, cause they are such different art styles that I just don't like what they're doing. Like, Because I know i use Hercules as an example because James Woods was on Twitter saying that Kingdom Hearts 4 is a special game and he's the voice of Hades. And so obviously they're going have Hercules in it again. And he's been in every other game, so it's not surprising. But um yeah, I just i can't get past the art style. I'm still excited for the game. I'm still going to play it, I'm sure. i mean, as everyone knows, I'm a diehard Kingdom Hearts fan. I absolutely love those games. But yeah, this art style, it's just...
01:26:53
Speaker
Oh, it makes me flaccid, man. Can't do it. Makes you flaccid. I think it i think looks great, personally. But I don't have a ah you know affinity for the old. so Yeah, I mean, it would be like if Persona 6 came out and instead of it being that anime style, it was like a Tim Burton claymation game. Like, why the fuck did they change the look of this? It wouldn't make sense to it. Alright. I don't know.
01:27:18
Speaker
Fair enough. I hope it's good. I really truly hope it's good, but Yeah, sure it will be. All right. What's your number two, sir? My number two, if it's not too obvious, is Final Fantasy VII Revelation. i you said, Rebirth was our unanimous game of the year, 2024. It was incredible. They're only going to expand this more. Now can play as Sid. can play Vincent. They're going to bring in all the weapons. Again, Wu-Tai.
01:27:46
Speaker
again wuai They're just going to expand and finish it the out the trilogy. I am so excited for this. i' Yeah, I i i i just i can't wait. I'm very also curious to see how it ends because obviously they've been altering the Final Fantasy VII timeline kind of thing with these games. So I'm very excited to see what it does. And so I am just...
01:28:10
Speaker
absolutely hyped for this game. I, and it's coming out sooner than we thought it was. Like, I just, I don't know. For some reason I expected them, even though people have been assuming like 2027, I was just having me was just being like, Oh, they're to show it's going to say 2029, but Nope.
01:28:26
Speaker
It's next year, early next year. Can't wait. Yep. Can't wait. Going to be the best game ever. i hope. All right. Good pick. Amazing pick. All right. So my number two, can you guess what my number two is?
01:28:39
Speaker
Modern War 4. No, definitely not. I ain't caught it. right. My number two is Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave. This game looks awesome. It's going to be awesome.
01:28:51
Speaker
um It looks like a sequel or actually, no, maybe a prequel. No, I think it's a sequel. It's hard to tell. Probably a sequel to Three Houses. It had a lot of the similar aspects that they showed, kind of like the in-between where you're kind of You know, like, know, building relationships and upgrading people and stuff, which looks sweet. Also, Sothis is in this game and she's all grown up now. So that's why I think it is probably a sequel. But you never know, though. It could still be a prequel because Sothis is kind of like a godlike figure. So you never know. But anyway.
01:29:25
Speaker
What I do know is the game looks sick. It looks awesome. I can't wait. It's going to be incredible. And I am there day one. In fact, I already pre-ordered this game. It's the only game that I have pre-ordered right now. I have no other games that are pre-ordered. But this one, already bought it.
01:29:39
Speaker
I got it. It's coming day one. The cartridge, of course. I buy physical for Switch. Everything else, I buy digital. so Well, yeah, you got to buy physical for Switch because if you if you are if you want to sell your game, you can sell it GameStop seven years later for still $45 because they don't ever drop in price. Yeah. that Well, that and ah plus you know the Switch doesn't have a ton of internal storage. So I'd rather have the game on the cartridge and save space.
01:30:05
Speaker
so Yeah, for sure. Yeah. Awesome. Fire Emblem Fortunes Weave going to be game of the year. Probably not, but it's going to be awesome. I don't know. there we go There we go.
01:30:17
Speaker
Sean is up now. What is Sean's number one? Hodge, what do you think? What is it? What we know? oh Flight sim, probably. Why don't you reveal what it is?
01:30:30
Speaker
Yeah, Sean's number one, to no one's surprise, is Final Fantasy VII Revelation. Obviously, Final Fantasy VII is Sean's favorite game of all time, and obviously we all love the remake duology so far, so this trilogy is going to end.
01:30:46
Speaker
You completely butchered the spelling of of Revelation. oh yeah, I did. yeah ah But yeah, this game, as we just said, it looks awesome, so...
01:30:58
Speaker
Not surprised it's Sean's most hyped game, which definitely looks better than Kingdom Hearts 4. ahll i' will say that. Yeah. All right. Well, we've already talked about that game. It's going to be awesome. Shout out to Tifa.
01:31:10
Speaker
And anyway, go ahead, Hodge. What's your number one? To the surprise of absolutely nobody, I lost my ever-loving shit when this was unveiled, is Spiral ah of Realm Reborn.
Spyro: A Realm Reborn Enthusiasm
01:31:22
Speaker
this i just... I've been saying on this podcast ever since we started it, I need a Spyro 4 in the same vein as Crash Bandicoot. It's about time. I need it. I need them to just say, screw all those other sequels. They didn't happen. This is the next Spyro game. The guys who made the trilogy or remade the trilogy, the remastered trilogy, reignited trilogy, ah Toys for Bob's doing it, which gives me the most, ah obviously,
01:31:49
Speaker
like happiness, knowing that they could do, do good by it. And they did the crash for game. So they know what they're doing. um The only iffy part I had was the only gameplay they showed was like a flight thing. I did read uh,
01:32:05
Speaker
Spyro can fly in this game. There's no more gliding. Like it's not a gliding platform or anymore. You're not gliding around the map, which I'm kind of bummed about. But at the same time, makes more sense because in the game he like in the original games, you could only glide, but he would always fly during the cut scenes. So it's like, why can't he fly while you're playing? It doesn't make sense. So it makes sense that he can do it. I'm just I just don't want them to make like these giant worlds that are like ah you know just way too big and empty just because you can fly like i hope it's scaled down a little bit towards you know little individual levels it's not a giant open world or something like that so but um i will say also when it started instantly i was like this looks like spyro this has spyro vibes and then they show these little monsters like oh maybe it's not spyro but then the purple lettering came up like oh my god it's spyro
01:32:56
Speaker
And I lost my mind. So i was i was watching with Broderick, our buddy Broderick, in voice chat when this happened. And he heard me just losing my mind. So yeah, Spyro, I cannot wait for this game. I hope it is as good as that Reignited Trilogy. Because that Reignited Trilogy is one of I mean, as I've said before, Spyro 2, I believe I had it at number two of my all-time games. So I just hope it's awesome. I'm so excited for this game.
01:33:24
Speaker
It looks awesome. All right. Good stuff. All right. Spyro is also my number one. No, just kidding. But ah it looks great. Happy for you. ah So you know me pretty well, Hodge. What do you think my number one game is for real?
01:33:39
Speaker
ah Well, I'd say probably Persona 4 Revival. no but that's But that's the thing is I wasn't sure since it's already been shown. I got to look at the list of games. It's a remake. Yeah. I don't know. I'm not putting to remake at number one. No way.
01:33:55
Speaker
i you I don't know. ah yeah I'm looking at all of them, and i you said a lot of it. Maybe Stellar Blade? I don't know. no No, I don't care about Stellar Blade. I didn't play Stellar Blade. It is Blood of Dawnwalker. Come on, man. the Blood of Dawnwalker is a total midnight and Lockmore game. Cannot wait. From OGs, from CD Projekt Red, this game looks freaking incredible. The characters, the settings, the graphic, the combat. It's going to be great. I can't wait for the story. I can't wait to make choices. I can't wait to play this game. This is going to be day one as well.
01:34:28
Speaker
But this one is a little bit more of a cautiously... optimistic day one because the studio is unproven. And, you know, I'm not go I'm probably not going to preorder this game. I'm just going to wait to make sure that it comes out and it is a functional game and then I'll buy it and play it. I think it's going to be amazing. I'm super hyped for it. I thought it was really cool how they revealed how like it was kind of in the future because, you know, he's a vampire. And then yeah like you go back. That's that's freaking sweet.
01:34:54
Speaker
um I like that. Yeah. i remember when they were shown that i was like, what is this? Because they, they were in modern times. Like it was a guy delivering a package to him or whatever. I'm like, what is this? And then when it cut back, was like, oh, hmm. So a little bit of time travel in there, not time travel, but like time skips in there. That's interesting. So yeah. Yeah.
01:35:14
Speaker
So there you go. My number one was Blood of Don Walker. All right. So for the audio listeners here, we're just going go ahead and recap our top five because we already recapped the other ones. So I'll start with Sean. Sean's top five was Spyro Realm Reborn, Xenoblade Genesis, Final Fantasy Resonance, Kingdom Hearts 4, and Final Fantasy 7 Revelation.
01:35:37
Speaker
Hodge, what was yours? Number five was Gears War E-Day, then Until Dawn 2, Magicians, the devil was it The Devil's Deal, yeah and then Final Fantasy Revelation, and then Spyro, A Realm Rebirth.
01:35:53
Speaker
All right. And then I had Exodus, Final Fantasy VII Revelation, Clockwork Revolution, Fire Emblem, Fortune's Weave, and Blood of Dawnwalker at number one. Great games, great lists. Did you have any honorable mentions that you wanted to give a shout out to before we go?
01:36:10
Speaker
Um, I kind of mentioned, um, the, the, really the games that I didn't include were ones that we've seen a bunch, uh, already. Like I just didn't like galactic racer. Obviously I'm excited for that game. I didn't have to mention it again. um what was the other one that I was thinking about? Jen Atlas. That one looks pretty cool. It's the same people who made shadow classes and eco, which I'm not huge on, but this game looked pretty interesting. So I'm excited for that one, but, and then they didn't show anything about it, but the, ah the concept of it is awesome. And that's teenage union Ninja turtles. They're last Ronin. I've heard that's an awesome comic. So the fact that I'm making a game about that, I hope that's, that's cool. But yeah, that's really all I, all I got.
01:36:55
Speaker
Shout out to Maddie on the last Ronin. I was in his stream and he lost it during that one. Oh yeah. Yeah. He's the, that's his number one. Probably honorable mentions for me are Guild Wars three. Actually, this is an MMO Guild Wars two has been long running for like 10, 15 years. What's cool about Guild Wars is that it's free. Well, you buy the game, but that you don't, there's no subscription fee. So you buy the game once and then you can just kind of play forever and it's, it's good. It's going be good. Yeah.
01:37:22
Speaker
Last Ronin, Resident Evil Veronica, Magician's Dark Deal, honorables for me. Stellar Blade is ah is an honorable, but it's a low tier honorable because I never played the first Stellar Blade. I think the the new one actually looks better combat wise. I like the hand to hand, the fisticuffs that she was throwing.
01:37:39
Speaker
um The girl does look very young. ah In the first reveal of her, she looks super young. I thought she was like a kid. But then later on, when you see her again, she looks like she's 20. So who fucking knows? there's There's like drama about her age, but I don't really care.
01:37:52
Speaker
We're talking about a fictional character. Yeah. um the The thing is, is that the first one, it was such like the quote unquote male gaze of like how attractive the actress was. And so like the the fact that the next one they make her younger, it's like.
01:38:05
Speaker
why'd you do that yeah it is she's not supposed to be a child in this game she's supposed to be yeah yeah and the actress she's based off of i saw pictures of is actually like a 34 year old korean girl and actually it does look she looks pretty similar to the one in the game surprisingly they just they just don't age over there apparently Yeah, it it just it was just kind of a little off-putting at first. like i'm not you know That opening reveal, she looks quite young. and Yeah, but I'm like 15-year-old now. Yeah, it was a little weird, but anyways, it's ah it's Asian, so you know how they do they get down over there. um But anyway, um and then yeah, Magician's Dark Deal. i don't know if I mentioned that, but anyway, that's it. So this has been our episode 67. What are your final thoughts, Hodge, for this one?
01:38:52
Speaker
Another game that I forgot to mention. Well, obviously Halo, but ah the um join us that cult one. Oh, yeah. I was like, i think I was like, I feel like that's going to be one of those games that streamers play. And it's like super popular if like a month makes a bunch of really funny memes and then just falls off forever. Like that's what that kind of game kind of gave me vibes. But Overall, I have to say, ah not that we were going to do this. I got to rank the things at fourth place. I got to do Nintendo. I thought that was a horrible showcase. I don't know what people are smoking and thinking. like This is like amazing. Oh, I thought it was horrible. ah Other than ah the the Legend of Zelda. But then Sony, I thought was bad. i think Wolverine doesn't look good. I just
01:39:37
Speaker
am not is sold on that at all. and so Then the showcase and then Xbox I thought was amazing. I thought that showcase was fantastic. I thought there was nothing really fill other than 76. There was nothing really filler about that one. So um yeah, I just thought the showcases overall are awesome. Like I said before, what I was actually going to say is I used to call in sick from work to stay home and watch E3 because it was all day. It was an all day thing. So used to legitimately do that. I would call in so I could watch it. And so every time the showcases roll around, I just am so happy seeing like all these video game reveals. It's, it's so cool. So. Yeah. Love love me some video games, obviously. So that's all got. We do love us some gaming. um All right. So yeah, for me, I'll say Sony was the worst. I thought it was a very weak showing. It was like a C minus D plus. um I only had two games from the the state of play in my list and the highest one was at number nine. So until dawn too. And Tomb Raider. Yeah. so
01:40:35
Speaker
But yeah, Wolverine and God of War weren't doing anything for me. Control was my number four most excited game from Sony. But anyway, so Sony was the worst. um After that, I would say ah Xbox was third.
01:40:49
Speaker
I thought Xbox was really good. It was a really good showcase. But I thought the Nintendo Direct was slightly better. um They had a lot of awesome. art You don't care because you're not an RPG guy. They had a lot of RPGs. So the RPGs look great.
01:41:02
Speaker
And then Summer Games Fest was number one. They had the most awesome games. Every single game in my Summer Games Fest was in my top 15. Some of the honorable mentions even made it. So, yeah. There you go.
01:41:14
Speaker
But yeah, those three were all great. Xbox, Nintendo, and Summer Games Fest were all great. Sony was quite mid, but that's okay. I just, dude, when we were originally going to do five from each showcase, I struggled to get five from Sony because it was just such a bad showcase. Like,
01:41:30
Speaker
I couldn't believe how bad that one was. Yeah, I had Until Dawn 2, Tomb Raider, Wolverine, which I don't even care about, Control Resonant, which I care about a little bit, and God of War Lafay, which I don't care about at all. So I had games that I don't even care about, plus Control, in my top five.
01:41:46
Speaker
Because they just didn't have anything. Yeah. Yeah. so But that's fine. it was Until Dawn and Control. And Control, over I've already seen 1,700 times. So it's like, okay. But to be fair, that's just our opinion. We do know many people are very excited about Wolverine and Lafayette. So um these games are just not for us. But that doesn't mean they're bad. so All right.
01:42:09
Speaker
Well, i say we go and get out of here. This has been Games Over Plastic, episode 67. Thank you guys for listening. Make sure you leave us likes and comments and all that. And you guys have a fantastic day.
01:42:20
Speaker
Goodbye. Bye. Something funny.
