WWE Championship Discussion

00:05:33
Speaker
So Bobby Lashley, a guy who's caught a lot of grief on this podcast for the various storylines he's been involved in and just the lack of charisma that he's shown. On Monday night, he won the WWE World Championship, 15 years after debuting. So this was definitely a long time coming, but he finally made it to the mountaintop, defeated The Miz, really crushed The Miz, one of the worst squashes we've ever seen in a championship match. Marco, what are your thoughts on Bobby Lashley as champion and how it all went down against The Miz?
00:06:03
Speaker
I think everyone that actually watched Raw that night was kind of surprised that besides him winning the title, it was a really good show. It kind of reminds you of the older episodes of Raw where they had that kind of overarching storyline that kept you going throughout the whole show. Yeah, it was kind of woven throughout the entire episode, yeah. Yeah, you haven't seen that in a while. If they weren't doing that, you really didn't pay attention to it like this.
00:06:28
Speaker
like this time around. Before that, hats off to Miz. Miz is awesome. I mean, he says it himself. Just so you know, he faked a stomach ache, stomach cramps. Anything he could just to get out of that match. I don't know, that was more entertaining than...
00:06:45
Speaker
a lot of the stuff that they've been doing on that show, it just shows that Miz is, he is raw, he's a part of that show, he's a fixture and I definitely want to see him come back at some point and get into the main event spot again.
00:07:01
Speaker
Speaking of that moment, though, when you talk about his stomach hurting, I just love that Bobby Lashley didn't just wait around in the ring. You know what I mean? Bobby Lashley went back there and took care of business. He was like, oh, hell no. You are going to fight me by the end of the night tonight. He was not playing around. And I kind of like that intensity from Bobby Lashley. We've kind of seen it building over the last couple of weeks. And if anybody's given grief to Bobby Lashley on the show, it's definitely me. We just called him Bobby Trashley. Bobby Trashley. Yeah. And the table changer.
00:07:30
Speaker
Yeah, the channel changer Bobby trash Lee. So I've definitely given Bobby Lashley his fair share of grief on this show. But I can honestly say when it all went down and he won, I was I was super happy for him. Obviously, I still joke about it, you know, in our Facebook group, like, you know, I call him turtle head and everything.
00:07:47
Speaker
Um, but, uh, and I was joking about how, uh, you know, he has the, uh, charisma of a rotten apple and whatnot, but I, I just, it doesn't matter who it is when you see them in that moment, especially when it's that moment for the first time, like he's like, you know, this, this heel with the hurt business and whatnot, but you could just tell like, he just felt like a little kid up there, you know, he was, he was trying not to like smile and trying not to cry. And I just thought it was like a really just heartfelt moment. And I love seeing the outpouring of support on like Twitter.
00:08:15
Speaker
and social media after the fact of everybody just congratulating him and how excited everybody was for him. So that was that was really cool. So, you know, again, I admittedly have given Bobby Lashley a lot of shit on this show, but I was legitimately happy for him in

AEW Mystery Signing Speculation

00:08:31
Speaker
that moment. And I'm excited to see, you know, what comes of this.
00:08:34
Speaker
very, very wholesome reaction from Chick Foley on the Bobby Lashley. Like Shayna said, we want to see what comes next. I think everybody's already penciling in Drew McIntyre versus Bobby Lashley for kind of the night one main event of WrestleMania. We don't know exactly how.
00:08:53
Speaker
Drew is going to get there, but I've had something just stuck in my mind. That was a great idea. You know, I try to stay away from the fantasy booking, but I really think that this would be just a super dope idea if, you know, I don't know what they're going to do if it's going to be Drew versus Miz or Drew fighting some sort of gauntlet match. But I got to imagine it fast lane. It's going to end with Drew McIntyre punching his ticket to regain the title at WrestleMania. So picture, you know, Drew stands victorious. Bobby Lashley comes out to confront him. These two guys are going eye to eye. You know, nobody's blinking. And then all of a sudden
00:09:27
Speaker
Brock Lesnar comes back to insert himself back in the title picture. I didn't see that. He never got the rematch for Mania last year when he lost to Drew. We haven't seen him since then. We know the fans are going to be back. We know it's WrestleMania. To me, it just wouldn't be WrestleMania without Brock. And can you imagine the night one main event at WrestleMania being a Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley, Brock Lesnar?
00:09:49
Speaker
I think it needs that. I think Drew McIntyre is amazing. Bobby Lashley, I'm super happy for him. Definitely well deserved for him to hold the title at this point. They need a little bit of a boost in the charisma department because we've seen Drew and he's kind of drug on a little bit over this past year.
00:10:10
Speaker
You know what I mean? Like I'm not, no shade. I just think it's just been a really weird year in wrestling. And I just think his title reign has been a little less than, a little less than stellar. So I think they definitely need a boost in the, in the energetic department and to bring Brock in would just like change the entire like, like outlook landscape of the, of the match. And also like Brock versus Bobby would be like insane.
00:10:36
Speaker
You know, Bobby Lashley has been on record. He's been chirping about how that's his dream match. He wants to fight Brock at WrestleMania. So we don't even know what the status of Brock is. For all we know, he could turn up on AW this week. We'll talk about that a little bit later on. But I think that'd be really cool. How about you, Marco? What are you seeing in the cards for Bobby Lashley's championship match at WrestleMania?
00:10:54
Speaker
I have a feeling Vince is going to try to get his way back into WrestleMania somehow. I don't know how it's going to happen, but I don't think he's out of the race yet. He might have some type of clause in his contract that they overlooked.
00:11:14
Speaker
My other thing too, I'm not sure this is a hot take or not, but I don't want to see Drew McIntyre win at WrestleMania. I don't want to see him win the title. I would like to see Bobby Lashley keep his title, only because a lot of people are like, oh, he needs that WrestleMania moment and all this stuff because the fans are there. But that moment's gone already.
00:11:36
Speaker
That whole journey, he had to get that title the first time he was gone. It already happened, so you can't redo it when there's people there. He's just winning the title. Yeah, you can't just replay it. And I feel like it would take away from Bobby Lashley winning it. I was kind of shocked that they went ahead and let Bobby Lashley just win it on Raw instead of taking it to Fastlane or taking it to Mania or whatever.
00:12:01
Speaker
So I mean, I just feel like if they did that, it would it would not mean it would kind of just diminish what he's done if they just let him lose, you know, at mania. Yeah, it should be produced in either way. Like I said, Bobby Lashley is definitely getting over to big ways, definitely.
00:12:17
Speaker
This is the most over that he's ever been. The response online was almost universally positive to his championship plan. Did you guys see Leo Rush? Oh, that was the best one. He's just like, you know, Lashley, Lashley, even though I hate it, I hated that when it was, when it was happening on TV, like when he was like doing the bit and point, yeah, hit him with the pose. Like I hated that so much, but it did warm my heart a little bit seeing Leo Rush, you know, do the Lashley chant.
00:12:43
Speaker
after Lashley won. So yeah, I was a little bit nostalgic to that, even though I hated it whenever it was going on. We strapped

Randy Orton vs. Soulja Boy Twitter Feud

00:12:51
Speaker
the rocket to his back. It was about, what, maybe eight or nine weeks ago, Marco, when we both listened to his interview on After the Bell with Corey Grace and talked to
00:13:00
Speaker
about how much charisma he showed and you know maybe he's really turning a corner so you know once again he got he got the chick Foley rub and now he's at the mountaintop so congrats to Bobby Lashley look forward to seeing what he does over the rest of mania season we saw two giant soon I did their debuts on AWW this week with the big show in Shaq both making their first appearance. Sheena who are you more impressed by?
00:13:25
Speaker
I mean, I definitely think I was more impressed by Shaq. I mean, Shaq taking that bump on the outside through those tables. I mean, that was a pretty big spot for guys, his old and his biggest Shaq. So I thought that was pretty impressive. You know, big show came, well, big, Paul, Paul, that sounds so weird. Paul came with the dad jokes, you know, just, he's like, did you guys see that term coming? And he was wearing a shirt that said no more BS. I was like, oh, big show. Like this is so, this is such a dad thing, you know.
00:13:52
Speaker
Um, but yeah, he was giving off some hints. He's got the scoop, which was kind of interesting. You know, he was, he left us all hanging saying he knew somebody was going to come, uh, be signed on AEW and we weren't going to know until Sunday. So who do you think it's going to be? Well, I don't know. I mean, he was dropping some Easter eggs or maybe he just effed it up, but he said, he said evolution. He didn't call the pay-per-view revolution. He said evolution, which makes me wonder, could it be Batista? You know, that would, I mean, that would be insane. Can you imagine if Batista came to AEW?
00:14:20
Speaker
I'm on board with Marco and we're talking for a show, but we both think it was a botch, but she has a hardcore conspiracy theory, so nothing's ever an accident in her mind. There's a reason he said evolution and not revolution. I mean, you think he just botched it on his like, oh, I guess he could have. Yeah. His live TV. He's probably a little bit nervous.
00:14:37
Speaker
True. I don't know. Marco was talking about how CM Punk came out and said that it definitely wasn't going to be him. That doesn't mean anything in the world of wrestling. It's not going to be CM Punk. It's not going to be Brock Lesnar. I've told you guys before, if it's ever a mystery man or something like that in wrestling, 99% of the time you're going to be let down. I would definitely expect to be let down on this because here's the thing. I remember these AWK previews, they're $49.95, right?
00:15:05
Speaker
Yeah, 50 bucks. So they're not going to have you spending 50 bucks on a mystery guy that's going to sell tickets. They know if it's somebody like CM Punk or Brock Lesnar, if they say they're showing up Sunday, people will pay money to see those guys. That's true. They're hoping they can catch a few marks. I hate that word, but that's really what they're looking for here too. We use marks very lovingly. Right.
00:15:28
Speaker
I mean, they're looking for legit marks that will be like, oh, I got to pay because I think it's going to be somebody major coming out. We've seen it before. I mean, the freaking big show, they could have let that be a surprise, but they announced it. If it's somebody that they think can definitely bring eyeballs to the show just by being there, they're going to announce it ahead of time. That's just the way the world nowadays. I think it's kind of a necessity for WWE and AEW because
00:15:48
Speaker
They're competing with so many different forms of entertainment. If you got a chance to grab another couple hundred thousand sets of eyeballs by announcing somebody ahead of time, you got to do it. It'd be almost borderline irresponsible to let it be saved for a mystery person. Now, that's not to say this can't be somebody that's totally fun. I think it's definitely going to be somebody good. If they're at AEW, I'm sure they'll be doing something pretty cool because really everybody besides
00:16:09
Speaker
I think Miro, I've enjoyed what they've done once they show up in AEW if they're coming over from from WWE. So I don't know. I really don't have a guess on this. I think it's going to be somebody totally random that we could never seen coming. Again, I was thinking Kurt Angle, which is because we obviously know that he's in cahoots with Conrad now and Conrad. I don't know if he's on the payroll, but he's definitely closely affiliated with AEW. Marco, what's your guess at this point?
00:16:34
Speaker
Yeah, that was my guess, it was probably Kurt Angle. Definitely not Brock Lesnar, I don't think that's, I don't think he's showing up. Just by the announcement too, like, you know, the way he said it, it didn't sound like he was gonna be, it's not who you think it is, like that type of thing.
00:16:49
Speaker
Yeah, he said it's not who you think it is. I'm like, well, who do you think I think it is? Because I have no idea. I mean, I think I see people saying it's Undertaker, like he might pop up and he's so sorry. There is no way. I mean, you know, I mean, who knows? I don't know. It could happen. You know, Renee Young, she might show up. I don't know.
00:17:10
Speaker
I don't think she's going to be bringing her pregnant butt to a, you know, the arena with a bunch of people, you know? Oh yeah, via satellite. That would be exciting.
00:17:28
Speaker
We know they've been talked about a couple years back in WWE. We thought we might see it at WrestleMania 33 in Orlando, but Big Show versus Shaq. That's been a match they've been wanting to do for a while now. Do you guys think we're going to see that match in AEW in 2021?
00:17:43
Speaker
Oh God, that'd be like one of the Saudi botch matches. I feel like that's just a recipe for disaster. The Big Show versus Shaq. I agree. Definitely. I think you could make it fun if you, you'd have to definitely have some hygiene. Like you said, tag match or create some sort of situation where you got like three or four of the wrestlers that are involved in doing running stuff. You got to have all the shenanigans and stuff involved. I think it could be a fun match though.
00:18:08
Speaker
Shaq's an entertaining dude. It can be fun, but the way you presented it was like Big Show versus Shaq and nobody wants to see that. I'm sorry. Like nobody wants to see just those two go head to head. Yeah. Okay. So we're not going to, so she doesn't want to see Big Show and Shaq in a 60 minute Iron Man match, but yeah, I'd be down to see that, but I think it could be fun. And I don't think we've seen the last of Shaq in a wrestling ring. He's got to come back at some point and get his payback on Cody. Yeah.
00:18:48
Speaker
All right, it's time for the weekly beverage break. Marco, what are you drinking on this week? Taking it easy tonight, sipping it off, sipping all that 19 crimes. Oh, keeping it smooth. Yeah, some soup with zine.
00:19:03
Speaker
for shizzle. I can see, I can feel Seth shaking his head. Oh my goodness.
00:19:19
Speaker
I love you, Marco. Gina, what are you drinking? I'm drinking the Virginia Beer Company Liquid Escape. So it's a tart ale brewed with lemongrass and Australian sea salt. It is good.

Drink of the Week

00:19:31
Speaker
It's 4.4% alcohol by volume. Yeah, good shit, man. It is citrusy and delicious, refreshing. All right. Gina's keeping it local. I'm still drinking the official beer of the Chick Foley Show, Miller Lite.
00:19:46
Speaker
Moving on, we saw some social media beef this week. Randy Orton probably thought that having an opponent that he literally had to set on fire to get rid of was going to be the most challenging thing that he dealt with in this season of life, but then out of nowhere.
00:20:09
Speaker
freaking Soulja Boy time travels straight out of 2007 to come back and talk shit to Randy Orton on Twitter. And Randy Orton snapped back. And he snapped back hard. He went full Viper mode. He had like a four-tweet combo at like three o'clock in the morning, which hats off to Randy Orton for having the energy and the mental awareness to drop these bombs on Soulja Boy on Twitter. Really just owned him.
00:20:38
Speaker
Totally punked him out. What do you guys think Mark? Are we gonna see sold you boys show up in a WWE ring? Actually, that'd be pretty amazing if that happened if he if he did show up at Wrestle media or something like that just like unannounced or something, but uh, yeah, that was that was pretty uh, we're not gonna repeat what Randy Orton said cuz those those he was uh, it was uh, it was uh, it was
00:21:03
Speaker
There wasn't too many expletives right and from what I from what I read it was they they they xed out prick which I didn't know prick was like a curse word and I was like all this so like why they blocked that out but uh
00:21:19
Speaker
The funny thing is I was reading a lot of things where there was a lot of memes saying like Randy Orton talking crap to Soulja Boy and no rappers coming to his defense and all, because it's Randy Orton. I mean, we talked about this before on the show. Randy Orton, he's viral. He's RKO. Everyone knows what the RKO is. If you don't know who Randy Orton is, you know what RKO is.
00:21:45
Speaker
it's on youtube it's it's everywhere it's a beams rappers rap it and all this stuff so jake's did it recently in his video so like soldier boy he that was like a a lose-lose for him like going against radio and in that sense you know yeah not to mention that you know
00:22:04
Speaker
We, Randy Orton seems like average size because we see him in the WWE ring all the time, but Randy Orton's a freaking giant man. You know, the dude's six, four, 250 pounds. Um, aside from, you know, like shine and Bobby Schmurter, most of these rappers aren't really gangsters. Like they're just musicians. Yeah.
00:22:27
Speaker
We call our own shots and work for ourselves. They got to check in with their boss in order to make things happen. At Triple H, we're ready to fight.
00:22:42
Speaker
buzz bad money got from when he showed up at the Royal Rumble and stuff. And now Bow Wow is trying to get involved with that. I don't think it's going to happen though. The Soulja Boy and Randy Orton feud was a little bit more organic. But I thought that was pretty funny. I was just totally random. I woke up on whatever that was, Tuesday morning or Wednesday morning to see Randy Orton's number one trending topic. And he gets in this random Twitter feud with Soulja Boy.
00:23:05
Speaker
There's definitely a story straight out of 2021. Just these two random celebrities getting into it on social media in the middle of the freaking night, which actually makes it even better. The GIF game and the meme game for this is insane. It is

NXT Predictions

00:23:18
Speaker
so good. Definitely Google it and just look at all the different tweets and stuff. They're freaking hilarious.
00:23:27
Speaker
All right, we got a takeover quality episode of NXT coming next week. Two huge championship matches. Io Shirai is going to be defending the Women's Championship against Tony Storm in a rematch of the finals from the second Mae Young Classic. And Finn Balor is going to be defending the NXT Championship against Adam Cole. Sheena, which one of these two matches are you more excited for? I don't know. This is going to be a freaking banger, dude. I think I'm going to go with Io and Tony because I went out on a limb and said that Tony was going to be Io last week.
00:23:57
Speaker
And I'm excited to see if I was right. So I think I'm more pumped for EO versus my girl, Tony. How about you, Marco?
00:24:07
Speaker
Yeah, same here. I think there's going to be some chin-in against happening in the $5 Adam Cole match. Yeah, same. There's too many sideline players involved in that one between Karrion Kross and Undisputed Era. Something's going down in that one. I think EO and Tony is going to be a straight-up match, so it should be pretty good. Yeah, I think I'm going to change my answer. I think I'm going to put Shane on this. I think Tony Storm actually went next week, only because
00:24:35
Speaker
Bobby Lashley won on Raw, and we thought that would happen. And there's rumors that there are no NXT matches happening at WrestleMania, no championship matches.
00:24:49
Speaker
Did you see, did you guys see that when people went in to cancel their subscription, it was like, um, you're going to be losing. Apparently there is a takeover before mania Thursday night. Yeah. So they're actually going to be, you know, I mean, they haven't announced it yet, but it's like an unnamed takeover, um, on April 8th. So yeah, I mean, there's not going to be any NXT matches at mania, but looks like we're going to get a takeover on the Thursday night before mania. So I'm, I'm here for that. That's going to be awesome.
00:25:16
Speaker
That'd be smart because Fastlane is going to be available on Peacock and WWE Network. But as of right now, WrestleMania is going to be the first event that's available exclusively on Peacock. It'd be a good idea to run that takeover the Thursday before. If nothing else, just to do a little system test, make sure everything's good to go so they can work out any kinks. If you guys remember what they... Dude, there's going to be a riot if they mess up the Mania stream. Yeah, when the original WWE Network debuted, the first live event was actually the first NXT takeover. It wasn't...
00:25:46
Speaker
it wasn't mania you know so i think they did something similar so that that's why i think we're simply seeing the late edition of the takeover card um so both you guys pick and tony storm uh do you both think that fem baller is gonna gonna keep the championship one way or another yeah i think so yeah yeah i agree i think you know i'm not necessarily gonna win but i i see this matching in some sort of schmaz between all the different people um involved in this picture right now i just don't see us getting to a uh a clean finish
00:26:14
Speaker
All right. And keeping with NXT, there are reports that shortly after WrestleMania is going to be moving to Tuesday night. Marco, what do you think of this move? I think it's actually a really good move because it's really, I mean, I've come to the point where I just watch AEW on Wednesdays and then pick up NXT like later in the night or the next morning where they have the clips up on YouTube. I know AEW does that as well, but they put their clips up a little bit later. They're not as fast.
00:26:42
Speaker
as a WWE. The WWE2 game is on point. I think as good as the next T is, AEW just got a little bit more of like an unpredictable feeling. I don't know what I'm going to see each one's in on there, whereas the next T, I kind of got a decent idea of what I'm going to be seeing. Yeah. So, yeah, I mean, I like the move. I mean, it's more wrestling to watch every every night of the week. So, I mean, it's actually there's a lot there's a lot of shows on Tuesday. You have Impact. I believe NWA is coming back that night too as well.
00:27:08
Speaker
They were there after their pay-per-view So I mean good night of wrestling on Tuesday if anything I know it's it's it's kind of weird It's like oh they're moving because maybe because they lost or with the one I don't think there was really a one-day night war to begin with I think it was just like a yeah, just trying to rehash what happened back in uh in the late 90s and like you can't you can't reclaim that magic that was like a legit like a
00:27:35
Speaker
like a back and forth like we're going to work like we're giving away results. We're doing all this like slimy stuff just to get one over on the competition. Everybody now has like five screens at their, you know, at their fingertips all the time. Also, it was legitimate. Yeah, you could DVR now to like, yeah, back in the day.
00:27:56
Speaker
You know, you really had to change the channel back and forth. You know what I mean? You were watching it in one room or, you know, watching the other one in another room. So, yeah, there really was a war going on for ratings. But yeah, now it's, I mean, very few people watch things in real time in the morning, like we've talked about before. So really, yeah, it's not really a war like it was back in the day, for sure.
00:28:15
Speaker
I definitely like having Wednesday night consolidated like my one night where I really had to watch live wrestling. So I'm never gonna complain about making it easier to catch all the wrestling I want to catch. Do you think it'll go back though? Cause I would think the main reason that they went to, that they're going to Tuesday is because USA is picking up hockey. So it's like, you know, they don't want to be competing with that slot. You know, they prioritize hockey over.
00:28:35
Speaker
I think they're going to see the increased numbers that it gets because they're not going to be competing against what is a lot of the same audience. So I think after they see that numbers boost, I think they'll keep it on Tuesday. Because again, like Marco said, I really don't think it was a war to begin with. If it was really a war, they would have put SmackDown on Wednesday Night or moved Raw to Wednesday Night or something. They wouldn't have done their developmental brand.
00:28:58
Speaker
on there. But yeah, it's definitely the end of an era. You know, NXT has been on Wednesday for a very, very long time. Really since it started since WWE Network came out. So yeah, no more NXT Wednesday. It's not going to Tuesday. It would definitely be an adjustment for us. But hey, another night of wrestling throughout the week. Yay. Ladies and gentlemen, let's get ready to rumble.
00:29:26
Speaker
All right, it's that time. We got another tape review this weekend. And Marco is going to be defending the Chick Foley Show Prediction Championship against Sheena. Once again, Marco has been holding on the belt since November. He's undefeated in 2021, but he's definitely the reigning and defending undisputed champion.
00:29:46
Speaker
So we're going to kick it off with the revolution predictions and we'll kind of give a little bit of analysis on the show as we go. Let's start off with the tag team match, Rio and Thunder Rosa against Dr. Britt Baker and Rebel. Marco, what's your pick? This one's kind of tough. Coin toss, man. Let's literally go either way. I'm going to go... And this is on the buy-in. Yeah, it's not even on the main card. I'm going to go Rio and Thunder Rosa.
00:30:13
Speaker
over at Britt Baker and Rebel. I don't know why, I just, I just feel it there. I mean, Rio just came back. She's not in the, I would say she's not in that tournament for the championship. So, and she's one of their major women over there. And then the forefront. So, and Thunder Rosa, it's pretty good to figure so far.
00:30:33
Speaker
Yeah, and Thunder Rosa is pretty much like they're one of their another one of the one of the favorites over there. So I'm going to go with that. They love they love face paint and AW. Oh, yeah, they do. Yeah, great. I'm going with real and Thunder Rosa, too. I think they're they're going to strap the rocket to Thunder Rosa. And she's going to she's going to get a title shot sooner rather than later. Yeah. All right. So both picking the same on that. Let's go to the casino tag team battle royale.
00:31:01
Speaker
All right, let me pull this up and see you all even in this thing. This is, okay. The Casino Tag Team Battle Royale. Oh, man. I think I'm gonna go with... These things are always a freaking toss-up. Yeah, especially tag teams. Yeah, I think I'm gonna go with Santana and Ortiz. Okay, well, Inner Circle actually and I dig it. Marco, who's your pick?
00:31:32
Speaker
If you look at the list again, let's see. It's total crapshoot. None of these teams have really established a ton of momentum going into it. Yeah. True. Very, very true. Yeah, I think, I mean, the safe
00:31:50
Speaker
This, I couldn't, I mean, you could go Dark Order 2 on that as well. Yeah, this is, I mean, it's a pretty, you know, top-notch. What's even the thing, like, what's the prize for winning this? Oh, an AW tag team championship opportunity. Okay. So yeah, I mean, there's some pretty high stakes on this thing. So you have two Dark Orders in there. You have both Dark Order tag teams.
00:32:16
Speaker
They got a 20% chance to win a Wrestle Math. How do you, yeah, is this like some like thing at the end? Like, do they get like a title shot? The winning team gets a tag team title shot, some undetermined point in the future. Okay, so I'm gonna go with... I'm gonna go with Proud and Powerful as well.
00:32:42
Speaker
Okay, it would be cool because what if uh, what if mjf and uh, chris jericho upset the bucks dude, and then we got sentin or sentin orts could come in and you know Have a match against them because you know, we all know the uh, you know all the discontent in the inner circle, so
00:32:59
Speaker
I think that can make for an interesting story. I think this was a crapshoot. Anybody could win. That triangle would make for a good match, seeing Penta and Pac win. Me personally, I'm rooting for the varsity blondes. I'm a huge fan of Brian Tillman Jr. I think that dude's a superstar, just waiting to happen. Give him a little run in the top of the tag team scene before they split up and he can go solo and really show what he can do.
00:33:24
Speaker
But that should definitely be a fun, entertaining match. I imagine that's probably going to be the first match on the main show. Some more tag team action. We got Miro and Kip Sabian going up against the best friends, Orange Cassidy and Chuck Taylor. Marco, who's your pick? I'm going to go with, let's see. I'm going to go with the best friends.
00:33:43
Speaker
Or two thirds of the best friends. Two thirds of the best friends. Maybe we can see Trent limp out, you know, and do some interferences. I don't think so. I think he's still out for quite a while. I don't know. He can hobble out there and cause some ruckus.
00:33:59
Speaker
Yeah, you know, you can work around it. That's true. Yeah, you can just use your, you know, cast or crutches as weapons. Yeah, I can see that. I'm gonna go with Miro and Kip Sabian to win this one. I think, I think they, cause you know, they got vested by, you know, Chuck and Orange the last time. So I think
00:34:21
Speaker
Yeah, I'm gonna go with that. Miro needs some momentum, dude. He's done really nothing except for B, Kip Sabian's best man since he's got to AEW. So I think he needs a win and he needs to kind of break away from this Kip Sabian drama that he's been in, this wedding storyline that he's been a part of. He loves those things. So you need to move on.
00:34:39
Speaker
Yeah, I haven't loved the way they presented him either. It's more of like a comedy character, which it's cool because, you know, Rusev from Maryland, he has a very funny dude, but I think the guy could be like a Bobby Lashley type, you know, with just that raw aggression, how powerful it is. He's got a really unique, like, body style and stuff as far as pro wrestlers go. But yeah, I kind of agree with Sheena. He's definitely in need of a signature moment in AEW, and I think he could get it by making Orange Castle or Chuck Taylor tap out.
00:35:08
Speaker
on sunday night and he is he can be a badass character like you said he is funny but they take advantage of that and i think you know like think about wrestlemania 31 i mean how how he came out on a tank he came out on a tank i will never feel like that was so badass you know i mean he was just like you know as over as rover dude and uh still got laid down by john sina and still got laid down by john sina yeah yikes uh but yeah he needs to go back to the the bulgerian brute type of uh type of gimmick for sure all right
00:35:37
Speaker
Up next, we got a match that I think has got a chance to really steal the show, the face of the revolution ladder match. So this is a six man ladder match with the winner receiving a shot at the TNT Championship. It's going to be Cody Rhodes versus Scorpio Sky versus Pentagon versus Lance Archer versus Max Caster versus the ever formidable mystery opponent. Marco, you're up first.
00:36:02
Speaker
Oh boy. I think we did this last time. Yeah, there was a mystery opponent last time. It was Brian Cage, right? He was the mystery guy that ended up winning the ladder match or whatever that was. It was like that chip on the pole ladder match. Oh, a chip on a pole match. Yeah, whatever that was. Casino chip on a pole ladder match. Man, this is another toss up because there's some people I want to win that I think I do for a win at some point.
00:36:32
Speaker
But I think, I'm going to go with the TBA on this one, because... Oh, wow. It's always a good pick, yeah. Mystery opponents always got a good chance to win it in Mass. Yeah, it's a high percentage. It's like a, what would you call it? Like a 60% chance of winning? I don't know. 45. I'm thinking 45. That's what my K-Fabe stats are telling me. Don't ask me that. I don't like Mass.
00:36:52
Speaker
Yes, it's a TVA. Do you want to venture a guess for who TVA is going to be? So Tony Khan said the TVA is not the same person that Big Show is talking about. So we're going to get two reveals on Sunday. I couldn't even. Only parts I could think of because
00:37:12
Speaker
they're not working with New Japan right now is Marty Skurl, but I don't think that's going to happen either. I don't know. Because the reason why he's not with New Japan is because the outpouring of everybody. There was a lot of people that were pissed about him being on the taping, so yeah. Yeah, I don't know. Honestly, no clue who the TVA is. I just know they better win, that's all.
00:37:40
Speaker
Sheena, who's your pick? I'm going to go with Penta. I would love to see Penta go up against Darby for the TNT championship. I think seeing him in singles competition would just be insane. And I think it would be awesome. So I'm pulling for Penta just because I want to personally see it. All right. So Marco's going TVA. Sheena's going Penta. I think Lance Archer is actually going to win. He looked awesome in the last game that she had and that tag team with Mox.
00:38:07
Speaker
He looked awesome. He's got a ton of momentum. And I'll double down and say that he's going to win and then he's going to be Darby and be TNT champion. The guy's steadily improved since he's been there. He's got Jake the Snake with it helping out. And yeah, I think it's Lance Archer's time. So I think we're going to see a little run out of him. So that's my pick. We'll move on to the next match. The money match winner gets the loser's first quarter earnings. He won earnings plus merch sales. Big money. Matt Hardy.
00:38:31
Speaker
Going up again. It's one of the Chick Foley show favorites. The Hangman, Adam Page. Sheena, who's your pick? I got to go with the Hangman, dude. I just don't see any way that this is going to go in Matt Hardy's favor. Something's going to happen and the Hangman is either going to come out and just kick his ass or maybe the dark order comes in and helps Hangman get the W. All right, Margot.
00:38:57
Speaker
Yeah, it's Adam Page, he's definitely, Big Money Matt has enough money to spare for that, those quarter earnings. So yeah, Adam Page is winning this match.
00:39:08
Speaker
I loved Matt Hardy. It was such an awesome heel move. When Matt Hardy just dunked on, it was Ortiz or Santana that was tweeting about how special it was having their first action figure or whatever. I forget which one it was, but they showed, you know, they tweeted about how cool it was to have their daughter playing with their action figure. And when Matt Hardy tweets out his unrivaled series four figure, it says, this is my two, the 238th action figure.
00:39:33
Speaker
There's nothing special about it, because I'm just that big of a star. It's just another thing that's happened in my career. Oh my god. That's awesome. Yeah, because he's already been feeding with those guys. It was such a dick move, but it was good. Matt Hardy, even though he's definitely lost a step or three in the ring over the last couple of years, he knows his character, and he knows how to work. He's supposed to be a baby face getting a ton of sympathy, or a heel that you want to see just get their face punched in.
00:40:01
Speaker
That's how to make hardy, you know, we said all the time about both the hardy boys, they've, they've got they got over and then they have stayed over for 20 plus years. Yeah, really, you know, legends in the game and sometimes I think they really get to do that they deserve just how revolutionary they did all that being said, though, I agree with you guys 100% Adam Page still going over.
00:40:18
Speaker
I still think long-term Adam Page is going to be the biggest star in AEW. Unlimited potential, he's got the look, he's got the in-ring ability, and he's got the charisma. And Matt Hardy is going to be just another step on the road for him to finally become AEW champion, which I still think is going to happen in 2021.
00:40:34
Speaker
Alright, let's go to the next match. The AEW Women's Championship. I'm really interested to get Sheena's take on this. I know she's got some really in-depth analysis on this match. We're going to see Hikaru Shida defending against Ryu Mizunami.
00:40:50
Speaker
So this is basically, this is AEW's women's division in a nutshell. They put this women's championship, they got Hikaru Shida, you know, longest reigning champion in AEW history against this person who I have no idea who she is. She went through the Eliminator Tournament or whatever they freaking called it. What a wet down that tournament was also. Remember when that tournament was announced, we talked on the show how this was a good chance to kind of hit the reset button on the women's division and kind of
00:41:20
Speaker
develop some characters and some stories. Yeah, it was it was a wet fart. And it I just like I could not care less about this match. I'm sure it's gonna be good. I'm sure there's gonna be some great in-ring action. But I'm here for the storyline. I'm here for the storytelling. I love a good emotional investment.
00:41:39
Speaker
Yeah, if I wanted to watch this shit, I would just watch UFC on Saturday. You know what I mean? Like, just two people I don't really care about. Just knocking each other's block off. You know what I mean? Like, that's, I want to know, I want an emotional connection with these characters. And I have, like, I couldn't tell you one thing. Sadly, I couldn't tell you one thing about...
00:41:57
Speaker
I'm sure she's great. Don't come at me. Don't, don't, you know, all the indies. Dave Meltzer is canceling chick-fil-a right now. Don't hate on me, but let's, let's be real here. This is like, you know, a big, a big money. Like we're paying for this.
00:42:12
Speaker
You know what I mean? Like, this isn't a free episode of Dynamite. This is something that we're shelling out 50 bucks to watch, and the best they could come up with for the longest-reigning champion, not just longest-reigning women's champion. Longest-reigning champion in AEW is Ryo Mizunami. Like, I mean, I think she's definitely gonna retain, but I'll probably be, you know, refilling my plate or drink or something during this match. All right, Marco, what's your pick?
00:42:42
Speaker
That was how excited you are for this match. I don't know if I can add to that. I mean, she pretty much summed it all up as much as you could, but definitely she is not retaining. I also think, I'm not sure, I think Kenny Omega, he's so in charge of this.
00:43:08
Speaker
Yeah, so he's lost sight of it ever since he's become the champ. He's like, yeah, he never had sight of it. I think he's also like, you know, they're trying to introduce, you know, the American audience to, you know, the talent that they do have over in Japan and stuff like that, which
00:43:25
Speaker
Which I do. Who cares? That's not their job. We're down for Japanese talent. I love Okada. Kinta coming to AW was freaking awesome. There's a history there. The best Japanese wrestlers. Look at Okada. I've never heard him say a word in English. All I've seen him wrestle. All I've seen him do is wrestle. But the dude has so much charisma that he's already over with me. You know what I mean?
00:43:49
Speaker
His facial expressions, the way he moves, the way he wrestles sets off. Look at Shinsuke Nakamura. We never heard him cut a promo. Most people, his match against Sami Zayn at TakeOver Dallas back in 2016. It was the first time they've seen him wrestle, and he couldn't have been any more over after that. So it's not about the language barrier or anything. It's just about presenting these guys in a way that allows them to shine. They just roll these guys out like it matches on WWE 2K or something.
00:44:16
Speaker
And they open up, you know, commentary is gonna make Mizunami seem like she's just like this badass, like could take down Hikaru Shida. And I'm like, I don't believe you. You know, like I have zero confidence that, you know, this chick is gonna come in and dethrone Hikaru Shida, you know? But they're gonna make it seem like we should know who the hell this is and like why this is important. Which to me is just like, yeah, like they're just making, they're just making this up at this point, you know? Yeah, I get it. Yeah, like I said, it's,
00:44:46
Speaker
They want to introduce the talent from overseas and use AW as a platform to do so, but they are going about it the wrong way. As if, like you said, they need to build up and get us used to seeing these faces and seeing these talents and they're ranked before anything.
00:45:06
Speaker
Yeah. Just make women's wrestling interesting in AEW. Like, I mean, I don't understand how WWE and I mean, they have, they have the talent. You know what I mean? It's not that they're like lacking talent, but WWE and NXT both have women's divisions that are just like insane. And you like, they literally are main event level talent. And then you have your AEW's women's champion is going up against at your pay-per-view, which
00:45:32
Speaker
AEW only has like, what, like three pay-per-views, four pay-per-views a year? Yeah, it's like five. It's like a handful. A handful of pay-per-views a year, whereas WWE has a new pay-per-view every month. So they only have a handful of pay-per-views a year, and this is the Women's Championship that you're giving us on paid television, like...
00:45:46
Speaker
It's just to me, I'm like, I would be insulted if I was Sheeda. The stuff they're doing, since Veronica was able to go and continue to dogpile at AWS Women's Division, the stuff they're doing is what killed the WWF Women's Division back in the early 90s and then the WCW Women's Division in the mid-90s, both involved in My Girl All Under Blaze aka Medusa. What they would do is they picked one female that was over, which again, in WWF, she was known as All Under Blaze and WCW was Medusa.
00:46:13
Speaker
And then they never developed anybody to go against them. They would just bring in these random Japanese superstars, which in the Japanese style, the Joshi style, they're over. They're big stars in Japan and they cater to the Japanese audience and what they want to see presented. But the WWF and WCW weren't putting any effort at all.
00:46:32
Speaker
into either a tweaking the presentation of them or at least or presenting them in a way that appeals to the American wrestling audience and that's what's happened to this and there's just there's absolutely zero buzz about this match you know I listen to like eight or nine different wrestling podcasts throughout the week and I haven't heard any of them talk about how excited they are to see the AEW Women's Championship defended on this paper you coming up then like Sheena said we only have a handful of paper use a year that's just you know it's not acceptable like straight up they owe it to the women on their roster to do better
00:46:59
Speaker
Yeah, like we're more excited about an Adam Page, Matt Hardy money match that like, you know what I mean? That is like completely made up with zero like championship sticks. Like we're so hyped for that. And then you have a women's title on the line and we're like, Yeah. And again, you know, for the smart side there, we're not shitting on the women on the roster. They're very talented and it's going to be awesome match. Just about the presentation. I mean, Marco, what's, what's your thoughts, man?
00:47:24
Speaker
Yeah, so what I think too is what they can do is I think the idea where WWE set the bar so high with the women's division and the deep roster that they have with the women's division, I think maybe AEW is trying to go that route with just have a bunch of women come in and do all this type of stuff, but I think they could actually just invest in who they have and do long-form storytelling.
00:47:53
Speaker
So like, you know, you have you have a you have Thunder Rosa and Rio and Britt Baker and who else? And Nyla Rose, like you have all them just keep that core and just have like an ongoing storyline or a cross sectional storyline with just them. But you don't have to keep on bringing it.
00:48:16
Speaker
a bunch of different women that we have no clue about like you guys kind of said just use the women you have there and kind of just have them like have like crossover storylines like you can have a feud with two of them but like one of them can you know have like maybe like a history with that with one of the one of the people or one of the women there and
00:48:35
Speaker
They can do it that way. They don't have to have the deep roster to compete with WWE. They can just see what they have there. So in the years, how long? The year, two years, year and a half? AW's been out like two years and changed. Yeah, two years. In the two years, they have not developed any meaningful storyline rivalries between any of their women. Exactly. What's the biggest rivalry that we had? The biggest one we had was Brandi cutting that promo on Jade Cargill.
00:49:05
Speaker
And we know that was the most cringe thing of all time. Yeah. And so we didn't, we didn't get any resolution to that. Cause then Brandy went and got knocked up. You know what I mean? So it's like, it's a, it's, it's, it's ridiculous to you. We didn't mean to go off on it. Yeah. Abaddon. Abaddon's around like, where is she? Like, like you have all these, like, like I said, you have all these core, like AW ladies, like, did you just do, like I said, cross-sectional storylines, like, and have like, have, have them have feuds, but they can all like interact with each other in a way where,
00:49:34
Speaker
If that feud's over now, they can start off with another feud because something happened in the middle of something else. Yeah, they brought in two women, the red velvet chick and then the... Oh my gosh. Jade. Jade Cargill. And they put them in a men's storyline. I'm like, why don't you build your women's division?
00:49:55
Speaker
Don't put these women in men's storylines. Work on building your core foundation of women's wrestlers that are going to carry you through, which clearly they don't care. They're not listening to us. They don't care. It's definitely the biggest L that they have on their record so far is our women's division because honestly, I forget about it. Until we do these prediction sections or until they just pop up on a random segment on Wednesday nights, I totally forget about the women's division in AEW.
00:50:22
Speaker
Eventually you count it just is what it is. We're going to have to accept it. After two years of complaining about it, we should probably just accept that it's not going to change. We'll accept it and we'll move on. We're into the three biggest matches of the show. We'll start off with the street fight, the tag team match, Darby Allen and the vigilante Sting going up against Team Taz. Marco, what's your pick?
00:50:47
Speaker
You got to go Darby and Sting, right? I think that's my pick. Sting lost his debut in a new organization the last time. Well, that was because he was against somebody that is notorious for doing that. So I'm not going to use that. That was a different organization, a different universe. So yeah, Darby, you know, he's
00:51:11
Speaker
He's a champ. He's a TNT champ. I don't see him losing. I don't see Sting losing on his debut with Darby Allin, so I'm going with the... I'm not sure what that team name is called, but...
00:51:37
Speaker
I'm also going with Sting and Darby Allen. I don't think there's any way that Sting's gonna come out and lose. I think, you know, he was like, hey, if I'm gonna take this freaking power bomb from
00:51:46
Speaker
Brian Cage, I'm getting that W on pay-per-view because yeah, I think it was one of the biggest missteps that they had with WWE was bringing Sting back after all, like, you know, like having him debut in WWE finally after all those years and then just having him just lose to Triple H, like at WrestleMania. That was just- He got hit in the head with a sledgehammer though. I know. God forbid, you know, the sledgehammer.
00:52:14
Speaker
Yeah. And so he didn't win a single match in WWE, did he? Yes, he did. He went on raw. He made Seth Rollins tap out in a tag team match where Seth and John Cena, or Sting and John Cena teamed up against the big show in Seth Rollins since the Monday Night Raw before, uh, Fortnite champions. Yo, the epic night of champions. Uh, yeah, so I definitely think it's going to be Sting and Darby winning this one. And you know, I'm all for the good guys.
00:52:40
Speaker
Yeah, I agree. It's been, even though I think it, you know, in a jacked up kind of way, I think breaking K-fabe for a second, I think it was the right decision for Triple H to beat Sting because Triple H ended up being in the main event against Roman Reigns at the next WrestleMania. And one thing about WWE, they do cater to a certain segment of the audience that they know WrestleMania is the one show that they watch all year. So I think they knew that they had something big in the cards for Triple H the next year. They've had something big in the cards for Triple H for 20 years, though.
00:53:09
Speaker
Yeah, that's true. Seth Rollins beat Triple H and then Ronda, that's the last match Triple H won at WrestleMania. He beat Sting and then he lost to Roman Reigns, then he lost to Seth Rollins, and then he lost to Ronda Rousey and Kurt Angle. Even still though, he was in big matches at WrestleMania. So, Sting had never been in a WrestleMania match. Exactly, it was the first time there he was overwhelmed. He wasn't used to being in the big lights, you know? He'd been in TNA for 10 years and showing up at WrestleMania, not to mention Triple H was like 10 years younger than him.
00:53:39
Speaker
And he got hit in the head with a sledgehammer. How could you kick out if you got hit in the head with a sledgehammer? I guess you can.
00:53:45
Speaker
Keeping it keeping it kayfabe man, like I you know, and it was a street fight He should never agree to that should have been clean if he would agree to a regular rest match He may be Triple H but uh, you know, it is what it is But what I was getting at was that I think behind the scenes AEW's got to know how much shit WWE has gotten in the last Five years because they made the decision to have steam take the L and address the mania debut. Um
00:54:10
Speaker
And I just don't see any way that they could have it. I think the internet would melt down if Sting loses again. So yeah, I think they're winning. And I'm really just interested to see what Sting does next. I'd love to see Sting and Darby Allen go one-on-one. I think that would be really cool just because the characters are kind of cut from the same cloth. And I just think it would be a unique matchup seeing Sting going up against somebody that's a lot smaller than him like that. And I think they could put on a pretty good show. Let's move on to one of the co-main events.
00:54:37
Speaker
the AEW tag team championship, the Young Bucks, Matt and Nick, defending against Chris Jericho and MJF. Sheena, what's your pick? I think the Bucks are going to defend Papa Buck's honor, and I think they're going to defend on Sunday. I think it's just going to... Something's going to happen. You know, we've seen this growing tension within the inner circle. Something's going to happen between Chris Jericho and MJF to just finally dissolve the faction as a whole.
00:55:07
Speaker
Well, Sammy's not on this show. Sammy's still gotta make an appearance. Sammy could come back and screw him over. Yeah, exactly. So I think the Bucks are gonna, you know, unless Sammy comes back and he tries to like, you know, get back in and like, you know, he's like, okay, I made a mistake. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to leave you guys. I love you guys, you know? I don't think that's gonna happen. Yeah, I can totally see it going the other way where he comes in and screws MJF and Chris Jericho. So yeah, I'm saying Bucks. Marco, what's your pick?
00:55:35
Speaker
I'm going to go opposite on this one. I'm going with Jericho and MJF. Wow. I think they're becoming the tag team champs only because there's a lot of behind the scenes stuff that you guys, I'm not sure if you've been paying attention to, especially with the good brothers lurking around acting like they're friends of the young bucks.
00:55:58
Speaker
I don't think, I think they're going to cost of the titles on Sunday. And then every turn they're going to face them at like a T&A pay-per-view for the impact. T&A, that's a throwback. I think you should say that now, isn't it? Yeah, impact. I think they're going to pay some for those titles or something like that. So I think they're losing the titles. And I think if Sammy does come back, it was all a ruse to put the young bucks out of whack and think,
00:56:25
Speaker
you know, saving of hours, like, not in the inner circle anymore, and he's gonna actually help MJF and Jericho win, if he does come back during the pay-per-view, but anyway, along with Jericho and MJF. I think, uh, I think the Bucks are gonna win. I think they're just so pissed off after seeing their dad get beat down. I just don't think it's any way that they could, uh... That could cost you, though, if you're not paying it, if you're not... True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True.
00:56:50
Speaker
Yeah, I think it's gonna be awesome as a ton of heat going into I think people legitimately want to see Jericho named Jeff get their asses kicked and The young books measures are always pretty great. So let's move on to the main event exploding barbed wire deathmatch Kenny Omega defending the world championship against Jon Moxley
00:57:11
Speaker
so is this match is this so just straight up three count rules like in submission is there any special rule to this or is it just a still contested under regular rules but there's just barbed wire and landmines all over the place am i right on that marco yeah i mean usually they do like uh uh from what i see sometimes they do like 10 counts so like
00:57:30
Speaker
the person can't get bad about sure how violent this is gonna be, but... It's like a last man standing match. Yeah, kind of like a last man standing, if anything. I think pretty much all rules apply when it comes to this type of match. Oh, no rules at all, if you like to say it. Just judging off of the ones I've seen with you, Cactus Jack and Terry Funk and stuff like that, that are pretty brutal. Yeah, I mean, I don't know, but I know who's gonna win.
00:58:00
Speaker
I had to have my pick. Do I go first or does she need to go? You're up first, Margot. Kenny Obego is the barbed wire deathmatch champion. I think Jon Boxley is taking a vacation. I think the only way you can put him down is actually blow him up. That's what's probably going to happen to Jon Boxley. He's going to get blown up. I don't think Kenny Obego is taking any explosions on his back or body.
00:58:28
Speaker
Yeah, I'm going to go with Kenny Omega retaining too. I think we're not going to see Mox for a while, so I think Kenny's just going to take his ass all the way out.
00:58:38
Speaker
Yeah, it's gonna be, I mean, it's gonna be a killer match. No, no play on words intended. It's gonna be awesome. So I'm excited to see it. I don't know if I'm excited to see it or not. Actually, the older I get, the more like, when I see like hardcore matches, I'm like, Oh, you know, when you're like younger, you don't realize like how those bumps and like how those like things would feel, you know, you kind of just are like, Oh my god, this is so awesome. And then when you're a little bit older, you're like,
00:59:02
Speaker
So it's a little bit harder to watch. You watch through like, you know, you're like peeking through your fingers. So yeah, I'm curious to see how far they take this one.
00:59:12
Speaker
Yeah, I agree. I think it's time for Mox to take some time off. Obviously, we know that Renee is pregnant, and we're probably going to see him for a few months, which, again, makes me scared, because I don't really know what he's capable of. We know how insane the guy can be, just in his regular matches. But this one's exploding bar, bar, and guts match, where you saw Kenny Omega in the workshop, cooking up some stuff.
00:59:40
Speaker
I have no idea what we're gonna see to end this. I'm sure there's gonna be some kind of crazy spot to end the match, because it's gonna have to be insane to take Mox out. Last time we saw, in a former life, we saw this guy get curb stomped through a stack of center blocks, and that only kept him out for a couple months. If he's gonna be gone for three or four months, it's gonna have to be something crazier than that. So we may see something that we've never seen before in mainstream North American wrestling. We know Mox is a veteran of combat zone wrestling, and those guys have just
01:00:09
Speaker
you know, ground up glass getting rubbed in the cuts and everything. So it's going to be wild. I think we're going to see some stuff that we haven't seen in a long, long time back to like the Mick Foley mid 90s days. But yeah, I think Kenny Omega is going over. Again, I think it's going to be Adam Page that ends up taking the strap off of him after a nice long run. So that does it. Everybody, if you tune in, she'll be keeping a live tally on the IG story to see if she could possibly get the Chick Foley show prediction championship back for Marco. But it's now time for Go Figure.
01:00:39
Speaker
Here we go!
01:00:50
Speaker
Go figure is where we take you guys to the latest in wrestling figure news and talk about the new stuff we've added to our collections. This segment is brought to you by Ringside Collectibles, the number one worldwide retailer of wrestling figures. A reminder to use code CHICKFOLY to save 10% on all your orders of Ringside Collectibles. Marco, take us away with figure news. Awesome. Awesome. Yeah. So breaking news, if you guys haven't seen this already. So from the desk of our good friend of the show, Jeremy Padawa,
01:01:20
Speaker
AEW Figure Reveals tomorrow morning, PSC. So that would be today when you listen to this. So yeah, so this guy, I love the fact that he's a godfather of figures.
01:01:37
Speaker
But he's, you know, he's killed, he's killed the wallets right now. The wallets and the purses of the world. These figures are so good, man. The AW figures just keep getting better and better every single series. Like, do you just look at the improvement from series one to series four? Yeah, it's really kind of mind-blowing to think about where we're going to be at a year from now with these figures. He didn't say at rival. He said AW figure reveal. So it could be from the new line that's coming out. It could be, we don't know. We don't know what it is. So keep your eyes peeled for.
01:02:05
Speaker
you know tomorrow when he announces it. Sweet. Yeah, so some ringside news. So this was kind of a surprise. Elite 86 up for pre-order. I actually like this whole set. There's going to be the SummerSlam set this year. Yeah, so Carbella. I think this is the first.
01:02:28
Speaker
Seth Rollins Messiah figure. Yeah, I thought it was pretty interesting that we're getting the the the Rey Mysterio look instead of like just the regular old black gear Messiah. You know, I thought we would get the regular Messiah, but it looks like we're getting the from his match with Dominic as the the first set. Yeah, I'm super hyped for that figure, but I still want a regular like traditional Messiah look also.
01:02:49
Speaker
Yeah, I reposted a tweet that I did that night when he debuted it. And I asked, they asked Action Figure Tag and Bill McKenna to make this figure happen, you know. Yeah, you are. You can put one second. Big Shot Bill and Steve. Yeah, well that may have happened. Way to go, Marko. Yeah, so yeah, I was hoping we would get the leather jacket kind of like Io Shirai with the furry color. Yeah, that's what we would. Maybe next year, maybe next time around.
01:03:18
Speaker
Did you have the biz triple H the feed and sin justice, which is
01:03:25
Speaker
pretty awesome as well. So can we suggest this figure, I'm going to be pissed if he does not have the ring, his ring gear out underneath the ref uniform. We know this is going to be said from the match made in hell from summer slam 91 when he was the guest referee between Hogan and the warrior against, uh, Sergeant slaughter, Colonel Mustafa and general admin. If this is just said in ref gear, I'm going to be pissed to sit justice.
01:03:50
Speaker
been a lot of mine for a long time. The basic that they did of Sid Justice was freaking awesome. You know, we got the classic Hasbro figure, but we need an elite of Sid with the blue trunks and the, you know, the blonde jerry curl. They better make it happen for us. You know, if not, at least we're going to get a new fresh head sculpt. And I'm sure some of the awesome customizers that we're friends with out there can hook us up. But no, I want, I want ring gear Sid. And hopefully it's just a way to get him in the line. Yeah, we definitely do the soft goods referee. Sure. But yeah, we definitely do that.
01:04:19
Speaker
that to happen. So we'll move on to Series 120, which is also up for pre-order on Ringside. Obviously use Code Check Fully for 10% off when you do pre-order these. So we have Pete Dunn, Sean Michaels, which I hope is a NXT version, like bald Sean Michaels, which would be pretty cool. Old man Michaels. Yeah, old man Michaels. Edge and Karen Cross and Scarlett actually are the rounding that out. So I think Scarlett first in line.
01:04:49
Speaker
For that, I believe anyway. Yeah, I think she's first in line for that. Oh, yeah, for sure. There's a chase scarlet also. Yeah, she's the, she's the chase and the, and the radio. So that's pretty cool. What do you guys, are you guys excited about this? Obviously with scarlet. Yeah, definitely be getting scarlet. We get any, we get any first time in the line elites. Yeah, depending on what Shawn Michaels looks like, it'd be something really unique. We may get Shawn too, but definitely getting scarlet.
01:05:14
Speaker
Yeah, I'm hoping it's, I'm hoping it's old man shown because you have the Triple H or the other basic line with the NXT Triple H Papa Papa H isn't that one. So I'm hoping it's the same thing with Shawn Michaels.
01:05:28
Speaker
maybe during the runway of radio or was legend killing again, it'd be pretty cool. So next up, our topic of the week, I would say, New Japan Pro Wrestling Series One. If you pre-ordered it back in the day. Way, way back in the day. A month before our one-year-old daughter was born, man, November 2019 is when I figured we're supposed to be here tomorrow.
01:05:56
Speaker
Yeah, so yeah, they're on their way. If you pre-order, they're gonna hit your doorstep soon. I did pre-order, I pre-ordered everyone except for one of them. I only think I pre-ordered three of them. But yeah, what it dots...
01:06:11
Speaker
So I was stoked when I saw like the prototypes and stuff. Then the, uh, the ringside post up a batch of pictures yesterday, which was weird because most of the time ringsides pictures are on point, but the fingers just look kind of off. But I watched, um, our buddies, the major brothers, uh, unboxing on Twitch and they looked much better. So I think for whatever reason, maybe ringside had just a funky batch
01:06:34
Speaker
Or maybe like the lighting was just off when they took the pics that the unboxing video that the major brothers did these figures look much better so i'm excited to get them like i said before you know it's really the only way that we're gonna get new japan figures that fit into you know the same universe or whatever with our aw and wwe figure so
01:06:52
Speaker
I'm going to support the line. They look good enough. And we'll cut them some slack because this is the first wrestling figures that they've done, you know, along with that Andre figure that they released as a one off. So the accessories look great. These things come loaded down with alternate head sculpts, alternate hands and everything. And again, we're going to get an Okada figure that can fit in right with my elite collection. So that's worth the price of admission right there. So I'm I'm excited after I was a little bummed out after seeing ringsides picks. But now I'm excited again after seeing
01:07:20
Speaker
major brother's video and hopefully this line continues past the line too you know we'll see how it goes but uh but yeah that's my take on it how about you Marco? Yeah I see yeah I was I'm always one of the people I like I think I said it last night when we were talking like wait until you have been hand before you you know make your you know your assumptions and stuff like that I never go by pictures really because
01:07:43
Speaker
It could be, at least a dad lighting, like different angles and all that type of stuff. So it's better if you have them in hand and you can make your own judgment on what they look like. Because I've been seeing a lot of people that have been getting them in on Twitter and they were saying, you know, just don't buy the pictures. They're awesome in person, stuff like that.
01:08:04
Speaker
I'm very hopeful for these. Like you said, definitely give that an avocado figure.

Dream Wrestling Matches

01:08:08
Speaker
It's definitely going to be a plus. Have it at Will Allsprey, so you can finally have your dream match with him and Seth Rollins, and your fantasy league, and stuff like that. That's the money match right there, man. They had their feud, their little Twitter feud back in the day.
01:08:24
Speaker
I think that's who it was. ECE was the only one I did pre-order, which I did afterwards. So I'm getting the three of the four. Got the notification. I'm pumped with these. I want to definitely see the accessories, how the belts look.
01:08:41
Speaker
What do

Exciting Action Figures

01:08:42
Speaker
you call it? Will Osprey comes with a sword, which is pretty sick. That is pretty sweet. Okada comes with the money. You can give that to your Virgil Elite if you want to. Yeah, there you go. They all come with belts, too. One of them does not come with a belt, which is pretty awesome. I'm pretty pumped with these. I'm going to be happy when they come. The packaging alone is awesome, too. Yeah, the packaging looks great. Which figure do you think looks best, Shane?
01:09:12
Speaker
Let me look. I guess Okada. Okada, to me, looks the best out of the bunch. But like you said, I saw a guy who already had him in hand and he was like, you know, I don't know what was going on with Ringside's photos, but he like literally took a picture. He was like, this is my iPhone picture in my bathroom under just a basic light bulb.
01:09:30
Speaker
And he was like, this is what they look like. And they looked like 10 times better. So I don't know what was going on with the ringside reveals, but I'm hopeful too to get them in hand and actually see them. So I'm not going to make any sort of like snap judgments just based on those pictures. But yeah, you know how the smarts are. They just, they lost their freaking minds as soon as they saw them. So I'm just like... Yeah, it wouldn't be the internet if you didn't rush to judgment. Yeah, for sure. Especially negative judgment.
01:10:00
Speaker
All right, Marco, you wanna tell us about Hayabusa, the next figure coming from Teletoys? Yeah, that's right. Hayabusa, Teletoys, series one. This is actually pretty exciting. I was reading a lot of reactions on this one, too, as well. It seems like they're doing a lot of pop-up reveals with this series. I'm not sure how many figures are gonna be in this line, but I'm pretty stoked with this one. Hayabusa's like a...
01:10:25
Speaker
A character that everyone's been, you know wanting as a figure as well. So I mean i'm pretty pumped for this But how are you guys feeling about this one? I'm not i'm not a huge high up booster fan I'm really not super familiar with him other than like i remember reading about him in like, you know 90s wrestling magazines and stuff But his dude super toyetic and i'll definitely be adding this figure to my collection because he's gonna look great along with the rest of my hasbro So how about you shane? What's your take on the fig?
01:10:50
Speaker
Yeah, I like you. I mean, I couldn't tell you one memorable thing about Hayabusa, unfortunately. So yeah, he's a cool looking figure. And again, I'm all about supporting these, you know, everybody that's out there making action figures and, you know, making sure that we're showing them the love because more figures is never a bad thing. All right, Marco, what did you add to your collection this week?
01:11:12
Speaker
The only things I got in this week were the the remaining two figures from the UFC series one which is I made a new ideas and Hooray Masvidal so got those two in The BMF belt get the beer that actually that that belt's pretty sick. I was like I was like, holy crap This looks cool in a it didn't figure for him. So yeah, I'm gonna probably you know, I
01:11:35
Speaker
Pass it off to someone else that deserves a BMF title. Not that he doesn't. Dear, dear friend of the show, Big Mouth AJ on Twitter. He posted some cool pics. Jorge Mazvidal's figure. He's got another one, MOC, because he's just such a big UFC fan. And Jorge Mazvidal saw the pic. He actually reached out to him. And AJ's sending him the figure to get it signed now. And then he's going to send it back to him. So I thought that was pretty cool. That's pretty sick. That's awesome. Yeah.
01:11:59
Speaker
I'll be excited to see the pics of the Sun figures so congrats AJ. We had a light week also just two Hasbro's is all we had in the collection. We do a Coco beware with Frankie who you guys know that Yeah, the Coco beware figures cool, but really that Frankie accessory is what's really hard to track down So got that and then I got a minty Kona crush in the purple and yellow So those are those are two figures that we still definitely need in the the Mattel elite line but that was it for me on the the Hasbro's and
01:12:28
Speaker
Yeah, I'm looking forward to getting a new Japan figures in tomorrow to really expand the collection even more. All right, up next we have random merch of the week.

Unusual Wrestling Merchandise

01:12:54
Speaker
All right. Random Mercy of the week is where we scour the deep dark quarters of the internet and especially eBay to find you guys stuff that we have not seen before. Um, sometimes it's something cheap. Sometimes it's something expensive. I'm still wondering if anybody bought that cooler cup with the shift of authenticity from last week.
01:13:10
Speaker
This segment is brought to you by Pro Wrestling Tees. They have their merch madness sale going on right now. You can use code madness to save 20% on anything on the site. So definitely hit up the official Chick Foley show store there. We have some awesome designs from some of the OG stuff to the brand new Chick Foley mania shirt. And again, use code madness for 20% off. You can find the link in our show notes or just visit prowrestlingtees.com and search Chick Foley. Marco, tell us about the random merch for this week.
01:13:38
Speaker
Yeah, so this is something I've never seen before. I'm not sure if you guys have ever seen this before. It's a cane leather, real leather glove.
01:13:48
Speaker
Yeah. Sounds kinky. Yeah, so I don't like that it actually has cane embroidered on it, which is kind of tasty. I don't think cane never wore gloves that said cane on them, right? No, no, not even. Yeah, so this doesn't even ring your authentic. This is just a random merch stand item.
01:14:09
Speaker
Yeah, pretty much. It says cane on it. It actually has the description. It says it has metal rivets on it because he did have that on his glove. But you guys have to remember, what if they just sold you a black leather glove? You would have no WWE significance. You could wear any black leather glove. You know what I'm saying? When you buy merch, you want it to be... Yeah, it would be cane's glove. No, it wouldn't. It could be anybody's glove. It could be O.J. Simpson's glove. How many gloves do you see? They got metal studs on them.
01:14:37
Speaker
I mean, I don't know. And you could always throw the cane embroidery on like the inside of it or something, you know? Yeah, I guess that would have been the idea is like maybe tag the inside of it. It's a bizarre piece of merch anyways, you know, because it's just one black glove. But yeah, 500 bucks. I don't know. I mean, if it's one of a kind piece and it's worth when anybody will pay for it. Yeah, I've never seen this before. So good find Marco. I guess it was just something from the merch stand.
01:15:03
Speaker
Yeah, and he said, it's not a kid's costume. It's an adult hand. He's been watching eBay to sell this for five years now. And another has not come up. So he hasn't seen another one of these at all in five years. So he's the only one that actually has this. Be careful. It could have been murder committed with that glove. Just saying. You gotta be careful what you buy off eBay these days.
01:15:32
Speaker
When the lives just start back up, I'm definitely going to hit the merch stand and buy these random things because I don't know how the supply chains work, but there is always a steady stream of stuff that's not available anywhere except the live event merch stands. This definitely falls into that category, but 500 bucks. I'm watching this listing now because I want to see if it ends up selling.
01:15:49
Speaker
Yeah, even when they do those superstores, they'll have stuff in there that you don't see in the WWE shop. They might have an exclusive figure that you've never seen before. They'll definitely have to look out for that. The glove looks pretty cool.
01:16:11
Speaker
Pretty yeah, it's a very quality item I wonder how much it was when it came out on the merch stand like how much did somebody pay because he said I mean he says it's tagged real leather. So how much Yeah, real metal rivets on the the bottom part where you like where you support down before he gave the chokeslam or anything like that But I mean if it's real other 500 bucks, I mean I can
01:16:33
Speaker
see that as the actual price. It looks, I mean, from the close up pecs, like the inside is like that, like suede type of a suede leather on the inside. So it looks pretty high quality. I mean, I'm not sure if it's real or not, but I mean, when you hit up, uh, when you hit up Canaanite 10 on Instagram, he's uh, he's got like the definitive cane collection. So I'm sure he could probably tell us something about this thing. So maybe we'll reach out to him.
01:16:58
Speaker
Oh yeah. We need to let him know that that's on here. Yeah. We'll reach out to him and give you guys a follow-up next week with what he can tell us about this club. If it's really worked that much or this dude's just trying to pull one over on the, on the wrestling band. Yeah. And he did an interview, if you haven't listened to it, on Pyramid Wrestling. So if you haven't listened to that, go to Pyramid Wrestling. And he did an exclusive interview with Canyon 910 talking about his cane collection and how he kind of curated it and whatnot. So check that out for

Wrestling Figure Collection Segment

01:17:25

01:17:25
Speaker

We love Pyramid Wrestling Scott and Mike Velcaster, the guys hosting the show. So give them a listen and let us know what you think. So how many chicks is a new segment that we're going to start mixing in sometimes from week to week?
01:18:15
Speaker
A little bit of a background, it's kind of inspired because somebody was asking on the Patreon exclusive Facebook group, which is an awesome place to be. Again, ChickFullyShow.com, $1 a month gets you access. Somebody was asking about just how many figures we had. So we decided to account and we're actually up to 1,037 figures in our collection. Now the way we do our display, we keep about anywhere from 100 to 150 on display at any one time and we rotate them out. I won't even go into detail on how we determine which figures.
01:18:43
Speaker
I did not have anything to do with this because it is so intricate. I'd be embarrassed to tell you guys exactly how the stock goes into which figures are on display from month to month. We'll leave that for maybe a Patreon exclusive episode sometime.
01:19:00
Speaker
Regardless, one of the issues, one of the downsides of having this huge, beautiful figure collection where you only display a certain portion of time is that there's some figures that just end up in a bin for sometimes it could be a year at a time without getting pulled out to be played with or anything. Having flashbacks to Toy Story when the toys go to the attic.
01:19:19
Speaker
So what we're going to do is each week now I'm going to randomly go out to our totes and grab a figure out and then presented to Sheena on the air live and she's going to give you her flash reaction to the figure and then we'll talk a little bit about it. And so we'll see how it goes. So give us you guys feedback. Let us know how you like it. We're going to start off though. This figure this week is basic seven Michelle McCool, Mrs. Undertaker. Sheena, tell us what you think of this figure.
01:19:43
Speaker
Okay, so first of all, you can tell this is like a vintage basic women's figure because they have all the elite articulation. It is an elite, yeah. Yeah, it's basically like an elite women's figure, which I miss the women's basics having elite articulation. That was super awesome because you could buy a basic and basically have an elite figure. So she's wearing the blue gear. You could tell this is circa 2010-ish. She's already becoming Mrs. Undertaker. She's got all the crosses and
01:20:12
Speaker
stuff on our gear, bright blue, the face, it doesn't look like Michelle McCool. Generic female wrestler number two. Yeah, it is like, yeah, create a wrestler for sure. The hair sculpt, you can, it's crazy to look at this hair sculpt based like compared to what we have now and like the detail that we have now. This looks like a wig sitting very basic. Yeah, just sitting on her head.
01:20:36
Speaker
But yeah, it's a cool figure. It's her only figure, huh? Let me double check real quick if that's her only. I believe that's her only figure. But yeah, it's pretty crazy that it is her only figure considering she's like a multi-time women's champ, diva's champ. The thing is, she was kind of on the way out when Mattel was getting the line.
01:20:57
Speaker
True, but again, you know, you would think with the significance, we've had a lot more people, and we got the freakin', you know, Mattel, or the Adam Rose Bunny, for God's sake, you know? Always go back to that one, because I'm like, if they gave us that, they can give us any one, you know? Yeah, it looks like this was Michelle McCool's only Mattel figure, back in basic seven. This was the original black and red color scheme on the boxes. Marco, you got this one Google image pulled up? Yes, I do. What's your thoughts on basic seven, Michelle McCool?
01:21:27
Speaker
I agree with you guys. I definitely like the fact that it is a kind of like elite elite level articulation of these ones here Definitely generic face The cross I don't like the the cross in the middle there Hard on Jesus
01:21:47
Speaker
No, the way it's placed almost like a tattoo when it isn't a tattoo. I think it was a part of her gear. It is a part of her gear. It's kind of like painted onto her body. So they kind of, I don't know, maybe that might be nitpicking.
01:22:02
Speaker
Yeah, it's a basic day to get by. It's got quite a few paint apps for a basic though. It's got the silver and the blue and the black. To me this figure, yeah, it's really kind of like, you know, it's a total contradiction because again, as a basic, you know, you go back to 2010, you see that the face sculpts just aren't anywhere close to what they are nowadays with the TruFX technology.
01:22:25
Speaker
But the detail, the articulation, the detail put into the gear and everything just shows you how cool the basics were because basics used to be really, really good figures. And now they're for the kids. Yeah. The basics used to really be, there used to be basics that you could collect and, you know, feel proud having on your shelf and stuff. Whereas now the basics they're made for kids to play with. And every once in a while you'll get a random character that
01:22:48
Speaker
just so happens that the basics only figure they got. So I know the basic collectors out there. Yeah. Yeah. If you're a basic collector out there, thoughts and prayers, because the basics used to be really, really awesome. And we got about 25 or 30 basics in our collection right now. But yeah, and especially the female ones, because like you said, it used to be extremely rare that you got a female in the elite line. And so the basics really were the female elites. So we'll get to the big question. Sheena, how many chicks are you giving this from zero to five?
01:23:17
Speaker
So from zero to five, I'm going to give this a three and a half because from the from the neck down, it's a it's a killer figure. She looks awesome. Again, got got all the articulation got all the different like paint applications and all the crosses and stuff. So there's a lot of detail on our gear. The head and the hair though is just like you said, it's just too generic for me. So she definitely loses a lot of points for that. So yeah, three and a half for Michelle McCool.

Listener Questions

01:23:41
Speaker
All right. She is starting off high. Marco, we know you hate the cross. All right. But aside from not being a fan of the Jesus Cross, how many how many chicks do you give this figure? Let's we'll go two and a half.
01:24:00
Speaker
Yeah, I'm kind of with you. I think I'm going 2.1. For me, really, like 2.0 is a passing figure. I get the solid figure. But yeah, you're getting 3.5. You got to be a pretty solid figure to get that. So I'm going to go 2.1. It's slightly above passing just because the
01:24:17
Speaker
Again, this head sculpt could be anybody. There's actually no way if I was just looking at this head sculpt that I could identify with any kind of confidence. Exactly. If you didn't have the gear, you would not know who that was. Aside from that, it is a really cool figure. It's the only Michelle McCool we got. You got to have somebody riding on the back of Undertaker's motorcycle with them. That's right. We got her. True. All right. It's now time to hear from the listeners.
01:24:50
Speaker
All right, Sheena, what do we got for listener mail this week? All right, our first listener mail comes in from Jason Cook. He says, if Mattel was to crowdfund an elite scale entrance stage with elite scale ring, what era would you want and what all would you want it to have?
01:25:05
Speaker
So I will hunt WrestleMania 8, all right, with the old school WrestleMania ring. And I want the neon light entranceway with actual LEDs in it. Dude, I was going to say I want the neon light. The neon light is so freaking dope. Yeah, we got it. We got a really nice cardboard stage of that that I've had for going on five years now. Let's see how the quality of it that we got. And I don't know. That one just always seems to be in the field spot. It's simple, but it looks cool. And I think it still holds up.
01:25:34
Speaker
Yeah, it does hold up. You could use that today and it would look awesome. Yeah, I'd go with that one. Marco, I'll pass over to you. Which one would you go with? Oh, man, that's tough. There's so many different sets you could go with. I kind of want to... You didn't specify that it had to be WWE either. I mean, you can pick WCW, you know what I mean? Oh, yeah, true. Yeah, that's right. You know what? Let's go with that. Let's go with the Nitro.
01:26:01
Speaker
Nitrocent have like a metal ramp way and everything. That'd be cool. Yeah, like just have that like not plastic. Just have it kind of like a not a real metal, but like, you know, like something similar to metal. So like you have like that authentic feel to it. Yeah, I think that'd be very cool.
01:26:18
Speaker
Yeah, there's so many qualities. Yeah, I think we have some scale, the old school raw letters, you know, the big R-A-W, you get that also, but they're so big that it's just kind of, it takes up a lot of space that up is your interest rate and everything. But yeah, the possibilities are endless and stuff like that. And, you know, Mattel has a crowdfunding thing that they use with the He-Man figures stuff. So I don't know why they don't bring that to WWE because, I mean, you see the thirst is out there. If you look at the custom stuff,
01:26:44
Speaker
that people are spending money on eBay and how much money Extreme Sets has been bringing in, filling that niche for collectors. Yeah, in the 3D printer game. Yeah, if they really have like an awesome old school, like early 90s like scale set like that, I really don't know what dollar amount they throw on there that would make me say no, you know. And I'm not saying that because I'm some kind of baller or something, I'm just saying that because of how much I would want to add that to my collection.
01:27:10
Speaker
What else we got Shane? All right. Our next question comes in from John Swallow. He says, if you were to rebook one mania main event, which one and how? All right. So I'm not even going to say the one that it is easily, it'd be the Iron Man match where, you know, that goddamn girl a month soon wouldn't have screwed Brett and made him go back in the ring and over time when that was in every party agreement. Yeah. You know, frustrated is not even the goddamn word for it for how I feel about how that, uh, that ending went down. Um,
01:27:41
Speaker
So if I go back to another one, I think WrestleMania 34, man, it was a recent one, but when Roman got busted open by Brock and looked up in his face, you know, he had the crimson mask on, his face was covered in blood. I think he really connected with the audience. You know, you heard the audience kind of gasp at it and he was finally, you know, I think they were ready to cheer for him to beat Brock, but then he turns around and gets F5 like a jabroni like 30 seconds later and gets pinned. And it was just, you know, the quotino was just, man, it's for the ending of Mania. You know, everybody, I remember we had a,
01:28:11
Speaker
We had the big prediction challenge on the IG account that year and it was like 98 people had entered and only one person picked Brock Lesnar to win in the main event. That's how much of a sure thing it seemed to be like for Roman to win and it was just a let down. Even though Roman wasn't super over as a babyface, I thought it was a cool moment after he got busted open. I still don't really know what the deal was while they let Brock win.
01:28:36
Speaker
I obviously have K-Fade moment. I don't know how Brock ended up winning when Roman had that much momentum going into it. But yeah, I changed that one. How about you?
01:28:45
Speaker
I always go back to this one. Definitely have to be Triple H and Booker T at WrestleMania. Definitely have Booker T go over just because of the storyline going in and how they're making him out. Like he was just, you know, WCW goon. He wasn't going to make it in the big leagues, which is, you know, WWE at the time and all that stuff. And obviously we know the story Triple H ended up winning.
01:29:10
Speaker
And they had this whole like if you remember go back and watch like that match like the video package of like Booker T. And they're talking about like, you know, him growing up and you know him going to jail and getting out of jail and rehabilitated and like they went through this whole story then Like they build him up and then he ends up, you know losing at Mania So I think to write the Rhones definitely have him go over and with the the title at Mania. That's what I would pick Sheena, how about you?
01:29:38
Speaker
Um, I mean, I think an obvious, another obvious one is WrestleMania nine. Yoko versus Brett. The original screw job. Yeah. The original screw job. First of all, Mr. Fuji and his freaking powder day, like the salt, like salt right in the eyes.
01:29:54
Speaker
That's some BS right there. I would have changed that to begin with. Brett would have just went ahead and got that sharpshooter out of the way. It would have been a wrap for Yoko. You know how they could have done it. It would have been an overbooked, convoluted mess, but I think it could have been like freaking legendary. I think it wasn't already an overbooked combo. Yeah, even more so. Have a whole piece of Yoko.
01:30:17
Speaker
They act like Brett got freaking pepper sprayed or something. He had a little bit of table salt in his eyes. What if after Hulk wins, you know, he says, hey, it's not going down like that, brother. Bret Hart come back in here and we just tee it back up and then Hulk versus Bret right there to crown the two, the true world champion. You know, that would have been awesome. Even if Hulk would end up winning, I still think that would have been cool. But yeah, I agree. WrestleMania and I had true travesty of justice. Bret was always getting screwed at WrestleMania. Yeah. Poor Bret. All right. What else we got, Shane? This is one more.
01:30:45
Speaker
All right, one more. We got some good ones. We'll save them for next week. But Sam Rosenthal has a good question. He says, who do you think should be a champion in WWE and AEW that isn't or hasn't been yet?

Potential AEW Champions

01:31:01
Speaker
I feel like everybody's been the champ so far. So somebody that should be a champ isn't, I got an easy one. I'll say Chad Gable. I think Chad Gable is immensely talented. He's funny. He's like the cruiserweight version of Kurt Angle. You can send him back to NXT, let him be in the cruiserweight division. I think he'd be awesome, but the dude can go in the ring. He looks like a million bucks when he's out there in action.
01:31:27
Speaker
And then he's very, very funny. He was hilarious back in the original incarnation of American Alpha when he was just trying to convince Jason Jordan to be his tag team partner. So I've always been a big fan of Chad Gable. So I think he's somebody that could do well if he got a run with a championship. Marco, how about you? Are we talking any championship or like the championship? I think it's going to be like, I'm thinking like world championship, like, you know, either the AW champion or the WWE champion.
01:31:57
Speaker
Oh man, AEW champion. We'll go with AEW on this one. You know what? Let's go. Because he had an awesome title match with Jericho. I think Scorpio Sky. I think they would break some ground there if they actually had him win a championship in general, not just the AEW championship.
01:32:25
Speaker
Even the TNT championship I think would be great for him, just to have him all the time. I think he's super hard to utilize. Probably one of the best talents in that company. Probably one of the most athletic there too as well. It was a very cool moment when he stepped to Chris Jericho that one time and convinced Jericho to give him the title shot even though he ended up coming up a little short.
01:32:49
Speaker
Yeah, I can say that match was a really good match as well. I always want to see him as a solo guy anyway. I think he did a great job as a champion in the company, not just the AEW Championship champion. So yeah, definitely Scorpio Sky would be my pick.
01:33:08
Speaker
Alright, Sheena, you got anybody in mind? Yeah, I think Keith Lee, you know, he hasn't been champion yet. He got a lot of momentum. He's got an MIA response, seems like. He has been MIA. He got taken out of the match, and then we haven't seen him since then. And it's kind of weird, you know, like we know that...
01:33:25
Speaker
Mia Yim got COVID and then it was kind of like they just went off the radar. So I don't know what's going on with them. Hopefully he comes back in a big way and somehow, you know, regains his momentum because, you know, he had the rocket strap and then all of a sudden it was just kind of like things kind of soured and it was, you know, no more Keith Lee. So I think he definitely deserves a title shot and he would make it an incredible WWE champion. So I'm looking forward to that day. I have no doubt that it'll happen, but when or how is TBD?
01:33:55
Speaker
