Introduction and Episode Theme

00:00:01
Speaker
Welcome to Chick Foley Show.
00:00:23
Speaker
What is up, Foley fam? We are back with another Chicks Quickie. It's a really fun episode. I'm excited to get into this. We are going to be reviewing the brand new released Power Town figures. We just got these out of the box today, and it's honestly kind of mind blowing that we've made it to this point.

Conspiracy Theory Debunked

00:00:39
Speaker
But before we go any further, let me introduce the star of the show, Sheena. How you doing?
00:00:43
Speaker
I'm good. You guys know I'm your resident conspiracy theorist and I thought for sure like we just got scammed and these figures were never going to come to fruition, but long awaited, we got our shipping notification and here they are. So the conspiracy was proved wrong. Yeah, still missing the Texas tornado carry on here, but we're pretty happy with what we got so far.

Farm Update: Weather Woes

00:01:02
Speaker
Shane, you want to give the listeners a quick mini update on what's new on the farm?
00:01:06
Speaker
Uh, well, we, we mowed our jungle that we had back back in the back today. It was, you know, we've been reseeding the grass back there because we had a long winter with lots of rain and harsh winters. Yeah. And right now we can't get a freaking drop of rain, but it literally rained every day of what felt like, you know, the last, the first few months of the, of the year. So we reseeded everything. Um, and we let it grow up into like a jungle and then, you know, we just took it all down today and it looks so nice back there. I just want to like hang out on all that brand new soft grass.
00:01:37
Speaker
All right. We're sure our lawn aficionados out there appreciated that. Appreciate that update. We're not lawn people. Tell them what you planted, what you received. We already had some Bermuda mix in there and then what you throw down.
00:01:47
Speaker
I forget, what was it? Fescue. Fescue, yeah. You went and bought the grassy. I just did it. Fescue's good because it's cheap and it grows in the shade. We got two big weeping willows and our house casts a pretty good shade in the afternoon. Our house is facing east to west. By all measures, we're not lawn people. We're not the people who
00:02:08
Speaker
Ten to their lawn and spray a bunch of fertilizer on it and you know Make sure that the grass is the greenest in the neighborhood or that we don't have a single weed But yeah, we had some pretty big muddy spots back there that we had to take care of and you know Turned out nice
00:02:22
Speaker
All right, remind the listeners they can find you on

00:03:17
Speaker
All right, so yeah, they finally

Power Town Figures Release Timeline

00:03:19
Speaker
came in today. I remember when this line was first announced. It feels like two years ago, three years ago. They were actually a little bit faster timeline than most. These were basically a year and a half from announcement to being in hand. Some of the interviews though from the crew behind it, they were very, very optimistic and aggressive to the point where
00:03:38
Speaker
It just sounded too good to be true and I kind of set my expectations low. I said if we got this first series in hand that I would call the line of success and they delivered. Yeah, you know we had we had broken leg gate which we still don't know whether or not that was a shoot or not.
00:03:55
Speaker
An elaborate cover up for a delay. Yeah, an elaborate cover up for a delay to get everybody, one, talking about these figures again, because they'd kind of just fall into the back burner. And so now everybody's like, oh God, broken leg gate, what's going on? And then two, to make them spill like they're really doing what's best for the customer. Little fashioned virtue signaling. Yeah, virtue signaling. They're literally willing to just take a whole boat full of figures and
00:04:20
Speaker
dump them in a landfill somewhere. The smoking gun to me is that we still haven't seen the big pile of figures with the faulty crotch piece. Because there's enough MOC collectors, you could mark those down and throw them up. I saw Kyle Peterson talk. It was a long time ago. I was watching a video of Kyle Peterson's and he was like, yeah, why don't they just sell those at a discount to MOC collectors if that was a thing? Because why would you just trash them?
00:04:46
Speaker
Yeah, they still be really cool for display, but I don't know. Maybe the true answer on that will come out down the road. But I guess let's just start with first impression, seeing you unbox them.

Reviewing Power Town Packaging

00:04:58
Speaker
Give us your thoughts on this packaging. We know you're a big packaging mark. So what do you think of the packaging for these Powertown figures? The packaging is very reminiscent of NECA figures. Yeah, very NECA-esque. It looks premium. It says right there on the front of the box, age 18 plus for adult collectors.
00:05:15
Speaker
Yeah, and I don't know if they listen whoever creates these figures listens to or whoever created the packages listening to the chick-fil-a show But this like magnet situation is something that I said I wanted for a neck of figures like forever ago didn't have it has
00:05:31
Speaker
It's got like a little bit of Velcro. Yeah. And it's like, I don't know. Maybe it's just classier, dude. It adds a little bit of weight to the box. And it's flush. The Velcro is never going to be flush. You're always going to have a little bit of space between the flap and the box. And this is just so clean, so smooth. It's got a nice little snap that feels premium.
00:05:50
Speaker
Love the black packaging. I love how they have the figure on the outside kind of like Jack's, you know These are beautiful MOC man, like yeah, really really nice. I said, it's truly premium packaging nice cardboard You know we gave that cane ultimate edition ring We gave it a lot of shit cuz like it felt like the paper the box was made out of like ribbon paper Yeah, you know, this is a nice substantial box that you know, if you move across town like I
00:06:14
Speaker
You can throw these in a crate. No worry. It's a big box and I like you know, just your standard rectangle I love that they have the giant window once you open the flap so you can see the entire figure All the accessories are front and center. They have dude beautiful bio beautiful bio. We've never seen a bio like this on wrestling I've never seen anything like this. It's got like we're looking at the loot there's right now. It's got like his whole career here, which is great because
00:06:39
Speaker
You know, a lot of people aren't going to be super familiar with some of the names in this line. Like you've heard the names, but you're probably not, you know, like everybody's heard like Luthez Press and most wrestling fans tell you Luthez was one of the greats from, you know, back in the thirties, forties and fifties. But, but I don't think anybody really knows, like, you know, they can't name a great Luthez match or something like that. Yeah, super cool. Got lots of cool wrestling pictures.
00:07:01
Speaker
In here in this inside flap and yeah just beautiful packaging dude huge fan and i love the you know we have a lot of emo see friends that do like the library style displays yeah these are gonna look great like that cuz i have the picture of the full figure on the side with the name the series number you know the item number so.
00:07:20
Speaker
These things just look classy, man. I could see this line bringing in people who aren't your traditional wrestling fear collector. If you're an older adult collector who does baseball cards and other sporting goods, these look like just a really, really premium piece, man. I like how instead of the actual pictures, and I guess because they're all
00:07:39
Speaker
older figures and the pictures would all kind of look a little bit mismatch. Whereas like WWE elites have like the actual like photograph of the superstars that are in the line. You actually get to see the picture of the figures in the line or in each series and see their accessories and everything like that. So I love that touch. I think that's really nice.
00:07:58
Speaker
All right, so, you know, five stars on the packaging.

In-Depth Figure Review

00:08:01
Speaker
Let's talk about the actual figures themselves. So we've, we got some of the Luthez, Vern Gagnรฉ and Stan Hance are still in the box. We went ahead and unboxed Bruiser Brody and Magnum TA.
00:08:14
Speaker
Magnum TA has just a magnificent mullet. Can we just acknowledge really quickly? Yeah. Terry Allen, one of Norfolk's finest. He's always got a soft spot from us because he's from our old shopping grounds there in Norfolk. For those who don't know, this dude would have been a world champ if not for a horrible motorcycle accident, which you can hear all about on Dark Side of the Ring this season.
00:08:35
Speaker
Um, it just looks great. Let me just like i'll start with the jacket. I love the paint on this jacket You know how sometimes with Mattel it just it's like all a flat black and it just doesn't have a lot of like depth and texture Yeah, it looks like a toy. This looks like some of the work that like our customizer friends do Um, you know for us and it's like I said, it's got all kinds of shading texture It is a hard shell style, but it looks great. You got the zippers detailing with the different rivets and buttons and stuff and yeah, it's just got it's got a little bit of a paint wash on it to where like
00:09:05
Speaker
It looks like leather. It looks like leather. It looks like he, you know, wore this thing when he rode his motorcycle to the arena that night for his match. 100%. And the rubber, the mold of rubber is a little bit softer than, you know, your typical like Mattel mass produced.
00:09:20
Speaker
you know, Polly Pocket style accessories. But yeah, it's got the little molded belt buckle with all the details. It's got like the little rivets in the belt buckle and got the little holes punched in the, you know, the flapside that's hanging down on the belt. Just beautiful. I love the hair with the shading, the different shading in the hair. I think that just really makes the figures pop. They even got the shading in the mustache and some beautifully done chest hair, dude. Like it just looks very nice. It doesn't look too... He's even got his little happy trail.
00:09:47
Speaker
Yeah, because Happy Trail doesn't look super just like fake and kind of like penciled on. It's just nicely shaded on there. It looks like, I mean, it looks like you could just like feel it. It would be a little bit rough, you know? Do you think they should mold the chest hair? Yeah, just give us a little bit of like, oh my gosh, what's it called? Flocking. Get us a little flocking on the chest.
00:10:08
Speaker
Overall though like the skin and like the texture of the actual figure it's almost it's got like a matte feel to it Like it's not quite as like rubbery feeling is like the storm collectibles I feel like the storm collectibles have like a little bit more of like a sticky group Well, remember this so, you know, we'll go ahead and jump to it She's just bringing up a storm collectibles because we were talking before we went on there. That's what these are closest to you I feel like these are And you know, they'll get me wrong. They definitely fit in with your elites and your aw figures are close enough
00:10:36
Speaker
But if I had to give a point of reference to what these are most similar to from what we've seen so far, it's the storm collectible figures we've seen over the last few years. There was a bunch of Hulk Hogan's, some Jushin Ligers, and the Minoru Suzuki. The scale is kind of similar to that, right? Kind of bulky, a little bit bulky. I'd say they're a touch bigger.
00:10:55
Speaker
height wise than your standard Elite AW scale, but we could chalk that up to it just being the first line and they're still ironing that out. Again, definitely close enough to fit in. I have no problem displaying these alongside my WWE and AW figures, but it's a touch tall and then bulky though. They're definitely a lot more substantial figures, man, but we want to point out Power Town's under no obligation to match up 100% with the scale. They are their own thing, but
00:11:25
Speaker
don't feel like, you know, they can't fit in with your universe. You got to get going with your wrestling figures if you're it. And I'm probably the biggest like scale snob there is in the game. Like nothing's more important to me than these guys being in the proper scale. But they are really, really cool. Like I said, that's I mean,
00:11:41
Speaker
They're just beautiful, man. They're like little statues. I mean, they look like, I don't know. I mean, they just look so realistic. Articulations good enough. They're not like Ultimate Editions or Supremes, but you can definitely move them around. They got the torso swivel, like the AW figures and the Ultimate. It's single-jointed knees. It's not double-jointed knees.
00:12:04
Speaker
You know, they're a little bit more limited in articulation, but it's fine unless you're doing like some really hardcore figure photography stuff. These things are going to look perfectly fine posed on your shelf. You want to give us the review of the Bruiser Brody scene. He'll be a little easier to check out the articulation. Look at his legs though. Do you think that's just like our figure or do you think or maybe it's just like they kind of look very bowleg.
00:12:24
Speaker
Yeah, that's one of the common critiques I've seen on these. I think that might be something that they can kind of tweak as the line goes on. I mean, he stands up, no problem. Yeah, he stands up, no problem. But that kind of thing that people had said from the start with the renders, they definitely, and the reason why people were questioning the scale at first, they are definitely bowlegged. I think, not to go all my damn toys on you.
00:12:46
Speaker
They have a really wide waist, right? So grab that Randy Orton. We got a couple of leads here just so we got comparison. Look at how narrow Randy Orton's waist is. You know what I mean? Compared to Magnum TA's deal. Like Magnum TA's got a freaking dump truck compared to Randy Orton on the waist. So it's a lot, I think...
00:13:02
Speaker
They need to narrow if they, I mean, I don't know how locked in there on these parts and stuff, man. They could probably narrow it down. And I think the waist is long. And I think that crotch piece is really one too. So it's typically like a T-bar type thing that connects the two thighs. Yeah. Sorry, we're getting like super into the minutia on these figures. It's all good. Yeah. And I think it's just a, it's a much longer piece, right? So, you know, like the Mattel piece is nice and tight. This one's long. And that's why the legs sit like, you know, it looks like these guys all came back from like a,
00:13:30
Speaker
Yeah, in my mind Power Town took all the guys out for a team building event riding some horses and stuff before they got scanned for their figures. It's not as obvious on Bruiser Brody, but you can still see it a little bit down at the ankles, like just a little bit. Yeah, the one thing about it too is that it's like that on all the figures, right? So I think it's just a Power Town thing. It's not like some figures look like that and some don't. They got the Power Bow.
00:13:52
Speaker
If you're jumping into the line just for the Powertown figures, it's going to be just fine. But that is one thing that sticks out. It's a little bit bowlegged. The more I look at it, I don't notice it. You may be able to... I'm a pretty good figure surgeon. I may be able to stick these guys in my patented couple. I don't know. I wouldn't fuck with their legs, dude.
00:14:11
Speaker
cup of hot water and straighten them out. So yeah, if we had to do some critiques, a little bit bow legged, and the belts are huge, man, which is a shame because the belts look really, really nice, man. Awesome paint apps. These are some belts that we haven't seen released, like Bruiser Brody comes with the Pacific Tag Team Championship. Him and Stan Hansen needs to come with a belt. Really, really nice, but I'm going to have to either find a way to modify or do something because- Even on the smallest setting, they're too big. Even on the smallest setting, they're too big for elite. Same thing, going back to the waist. You know what I mean? Oh yeah, the waist for good.
00:14:41
Speaker
You know, the belts aren't going to be a perfect fit. You can throw them over the shoulder and they look fine, but the belts aren't going to be a... You could probably put a little bit of Velcro on each side, you know, and model them for the... You could work on them, but yeah, the belts aren't ready to go mix and match with the rest of your collection if that's something you were looking to do. You got to do some modification, but give us your view of Bruiser Brody since we got him in hand, Shane.
00:15:00
Speaker
He looks super cool. Again, the paint app on the vest is just beautiful. It looks super textured. I mean, obviously, a soft goods like fur vest would have been ideal for this. Yeah, we actually have a custom Bruiser Brody Elite in M&M figure clothing. Great person to hit it if you got any custom figure gear projects you want. He made us a really beautiful brown fur vest, so I may ditch that custom and upgrade this Power Town with it. Hopefully it fits, like you said. It's a soft goods. You can get a little bit more leeway.
00:15:29
Speaker
Yeah. Looks great. Like I said, got the scars on the forehead. Our custom, they're raised up a little bit so they have a little bit of texture. This is just painted on. The paint apps and the hair look freaking fantastic. I love these like Holstein cow, you know, kick pad boot situations that he's got going on here. And yeah, just a beautiful overall figure. Heavy. Like Sess said earlier, these are bulky figures and they got some weight to them.
00:15:58
Speaker
Bruiser Brody's definitely in the mix for, you know, probably top 10 wrestler that never made it to the real chain. I forgot. We had it sitting down. It's a real metal chain. It's a real like little, yeah, like chain. Bruiser Brody's in definitely probably my top 10 of guys who never wrestled in like WWE or WCW slash NWA back in the day. You know, he had a couple of house show runs, but
00:16:20
Speaker
But nothing major and he's so toyetic and such an incredible performer like go out and seek out some YouTube bruiser Brody matches do you had his own? Dark side of the ring episode also. Yeah, like dude is uh, that's why all these guys are in power to era. Yeah the power town They all got their own dark side of the ring
00:16:36
Speaker
Dude is awesome though, man. It's great. He had a pretty good classic superstars figure, but it's awesome to see him getting some more figure love here in 2023. So that's the two we unboxed so far. Like I said, scale, critique is scale is not 100% perfect match with your current figures, but it's close enough. The belts are way too big and the bow legged thing, I think that's just going to take some getting used to, man. And maybe they can slightly improve on it in future series. But do you get any other big critiques on the machine?
00:17:05
Speaker
No, no, I think they, I mean, I think they look amazing, dude. Like I remember when this, when this line was first announced and they were showing like the pictures and stuff, I was like, there's no way. Like there's just, there's no way. And you bought in from like the beginning. They delivered, man. Like I said, they, they're not a hundred percent match on the renders, but they're pretty dang close. They're a lot closer than the AW line was to its first renders.
00:17:24
Speaker
Yeah, do you think do you think all the people that were kind of skeptical and didn't buy in on this? And that's the main reason why I went ahead and just pre-ordered man. So now you just got to take that leap of faith because the phone, I'd be crying right now because I haven't looked to see what these things are going for on eBay. And I haven't heard that they have any extra stock like
00:17:42
Speaker
I'm sure at some point they got to have a little bit of extra stock that they're going to release out. But yeah, two thumbs up. I can't wait for series two and I wish nothing but success for the line. You want to quickly run through our other three figures, Shane, and just give some quick hitter thoughts.
00:17:56
Speaker
Yeah, you got Luthez, got an awesome molded rubber robe. Look at his body hair. He's got leg hair and everything. I think that's the first one we've seen with leg hair. Yeah, so he's got... Look at his stomach hair. He's got like full coverage on the tummy too. And his is a little bit darker. So like Magnum TA because he's got the blonde hair, his chest hair is a little bit lighter shade. And then...
00:18:16
Speaker
This has like the darker the darker black and look at that tiny little belt Yeah, that's the old-school nwa belt right there, I think what does it say on the front
00:18:29
Speaker
Yeah, they say World Heavyweight Championships. Yeah, this is like the classic NWA title from the 40s and 50s. It's more akin to like a modern boxing belt, just really, really unique, like super cool, man. And he looks great, dude. Like, just how awesome is it that we got a freaking Luthez in our collection? Yeah, and it's, you know, you, they have this beautiful photo of him right here on this inside of the bio, and then his face is right here on the figure. It's pretty damn close, dude. Yeah, it's pretty freaking close, man. Pretty damn good, man.
00:18:55
Speaker
It's wild. I mean, we know Mattel's killing the game on the head scans right now This could definitely hang with a Mattel head scan though, man Like there is this does not look like an independent made figure. Oh man, we got one thing though If I was in MOC, I'd be pissed off. My hand is disconnected inside of there. That's why you gotta open them up and let them breathe. That's true And he comes with a towel that he wears around his neck. So those are your accessories beautiful figure We're gonna move on to Vern Gagnรฉ
00:19:22
Speaker
He comes with the AWA championship belt. It's called whatever the Minneapolis newspaper belt is. It's a cool belt, dude. I like it. We actually have that by Forbidden Figures. We have the super premium version, but beautiful freaking jacket. It looks like it's college varsity jacket or whatever. Same thing. Dude, these figures, the headscans are spot on, dude. Where were they doing the headscans? Jazz wears. Give them a call, man.
00:19:47
Speaker
Yeah, I need to go do some poaching but you know Vern Gagnรฉ there's a beautiful beautiful AWA documentary on peacock watch it this guy was Super influential man a lot of your favorite wrestlers from the 80s came through the AWA and were trained by Vern Gagnรฉ This is the guy that trained Ric Flair He gave Hulk Hogan his first big break in the business like it's just so cool that we got a freaking figure this guy now
00:20:10
Speaker
Yeah, I will say something that should come back that I always love is monograms. I feel like there's not enough monograms in modern wrestling, dude. The beautiful script on the boots and on the gear. I love a good initial.
00:20:27
Speaker
initial gear. But yeah, he's got on a blue jacket. Again, the paint app on that is just spectacular. It's like the paint and then just the texture on it. Yeah, and they could have just cheaped out and done the same paint on the... He's got the wristbands and waistbands. Yeah, like an old school chalk line jacket. You know what I mean? They totally did a different paint on the wristbands and the collar and the waistband than they did on the rest of the jacket.
00:20:54
Speaker
Looks great. Beautiful. Look at the other detail. He even got the little bit of socks peeking out over the top of the boots, man. Yeah, and they're like molded, you know, like these things are awesome. Yeah, these are great. And last but not least, Stan Hansen. So unfortunately, he was the reason we got Bruiser Brody in in series one, we were supposed to get the Ted DiBiase that came with this guy. They they puffed him up a little bit. We've been talking about those those waist
00:21:18
Speaker
Yeah. Well, Stan Hansen's the big, he was the heftiest of all these guys. Exactly. Well, I mean, you can see right here, but I think it's funny because I just assumed they would use the same waste part. Yeah. He's built like a brick shit house. The cool thing is, so him and Bruiser Brody each come with these specific tag team belts in series one, and they actually got a picture of the two of them inside his box holding the belts, man. That's cool.
00:21:36
Speaker
And so this guy comes with a cowbell. He's got a real rope. He's got a cowboy hat and the chaps. And the chaps have, are they, they're molded or does that. Yeah, they're molded. Okay. So the, okay. So I couldn't even tell that's how awesome the paint and stuff on this is and the sculpting on this is. I thought it might have real fringe on the, on the, on the chaps, but yeah, looks great, dude. And again, a nice little monogram situation over there on the vest.
00:22:02
Speaker
We can recreate Stan Hansen knocking Vader's eye out of the socket now with one of our figures. Kevin Ey for an eye match. Yeah. Yeah. Another beautiful ride up. Awesome photos. Just cool. I mean, dude, we have a cowbell accessory now, you know?
00:22:17
Speaker
Very, very cool figures. Like I said, guys, keep an eye out on Powertown's Instagram. If you didn't grab these on the preorder, I really think this is going to be something special, man. For all indications that Series 1 was a big success, and this thing is going to keep going. If you look at their roster, they already have a ton of really, really cool people signed.
00:22:37
Speaker
Yeah, I am all in on this line, man. I love it and I can't wait to see what they do next. So yeah, keep an eye on their IG. If any more come in stock, jump on it, man. You will not regret it. Before we jump into a quick batch of listener mail, Shane, we've got to tell them what we're

Drink Chat

00:22:52
Speaker
sipping on this week. Oh, okay. So I'm sipping on a
00:22:56
Speaker
Phelps family classic. I can't even get it out of this koozie. I was pointing grapefruit sculpin. What do you need to get out of the koozie? I just like to look at the cam when I'm talking about it, you know what I mean? You know, shout out to Pro Wrestling Crate. I was the original, I was like, when Pro Wrestling Crate was invented, I was the very first, I got the very first Pro Wrestling Crate box. They weren't even doing micro brawlers yet with it.
00:23:15
Speaker
No, that wasn't even a thought in anyone's mind. Micro brawlers weren't even a thing. I literally got the very first pro wrestling crate back when Mick Foley was doing pro wrestling crate and they gave us these beautiful koozies that we've used hundreds of times. And that awesome Cheat Pops bottle opener. Got a Cheat Pops bottle opener. Yeah, we got several things that we've hung on to. There was a lot of-
00:23:37
Speaker
There's some junk, but you'd usually like some quality stuff. You would get a couple quality things. And the shirts were usually pretty good. So shout out. That's the koozie that literally got me stuck and hung up in here. But yeah, so I'm using a, I'm drinking a ballast point grapefruit sculpin. All right. And I'm keeping it basic, just that ice cold Miller white. All right, Shane, we got some listener mail. We do.

Listener Q&A on Figures

00:24:03
Speaker
All right, our first question comes in from our man Brett Sharrow. He says, what other talents are you looking forward to or are wishing for for from the power town line? They recently announced their rimco line is going to feature Rocker Mall Express, Tully Blanchard, Tito Santana, The Missing Link, Bobo Brazil, and Nick Bockwinkle. Interested in any of these? I'm not really sure who all they have signed, but I think this line could be pretty good.
00:24:27
Speaker
I mean, I'm interested in all those, man. I just want, you know, the deeper cut, the better, man. I want guys that, you know, it just doesn't really make financial success for Mattel to go and sign to, or WWE to sign to a Legends contract, Mattel to make figures of them that wouldn't be viable at like mass market, those kinds of legends, man. Like Bobo Brazil, awesome. Give me like the freaking long riders, you know, like these deep cut tag teams. Give me a Rick Martell from AWA, you know, AWA Kurt Hennig, if, you know, his contract overlaps with WWE, like,
00:24:58
Speaker
I lean AWA just because that's what I think, you know, this is started by the same guys that did. Remco, you know, Greg Gagnier, Vern Sun is involved in this line. So that's kind of where my mind always goes. And that's really our underrepresented territory as far as figures go. All right, our buddy, the OG fig kid, Thomas Montalto, he said, I absolutely love them. He just chimed in and said, I absolutely love them. And I'm very impressed. I can't wait to hear what you guys have to say.
00:25:23
Speaker
Yeah, same couple small gripes, you know, just but that's like just very, very pointed criticism on an absolutely great product, man. I'm happy with the execution. And I'm rooting for these guys to just, you know, keep it going. Think about let's go back to series one of, you know, AW figures and compare them to
00:25:41
Speaker
these series, one of these figures. For our first set of figures, they knocked it out of the park. We gave AEW a lot of slack. We were like, oh, these are the first series of their figures. You know what I mean? It's all new, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Then Power Town comes through with the freaking TKO on their first line of figures.
00:26:00
Speaker
Yeah. Shows what you can do when you put your mind to it. Aaron Robert from Lumber Jillville, he says, what female would you like to see added in the line? Maybe a legend who would fit in with the old school vibe. Medusa. Of course you would. No questions asked, man.
00:26:17
Speaker
Kyle Peterson said he wants or he said Medusa is in series two more than five soon as they go live for pre-order Yeah, and then our buddy from coming down the aisle John Swallow said Luna I'm totally on board for Luna to be cool You know Sherry Martel was the AWA champion. So yeah some cool Sherry Luna or You know all them they can make the series two could be just Medusa and six different looks and I would buy it
00:26:37
Speaker
Yeah, we need a Luna figure, dude. Luna is glaring omission from her figure clutch. Luna and Medusa. Medusa. Just because she made eye contact with you one time. No, eye contact. We made eye contact. I looked away to be polite. When I looked back, she was still making eye contact with me and smiled. So it was definitely more than eye contact. Oh, man. Johnny JB, any 90s wrestlers you would like Power Town to make that aren't in the top companies?
00:27:06
Speaker
Dude, somebody I've had a save search for like I can't bring myself to like commission like Mad Reaper or Ivy's custom figgy's to make one for me. That's Ivan Milanovich in the group for those that don't know. I can't quite bring myself to commission a custom of this guy, but I would love a Tom Zink man. The only Tom Zink figure we really got is his Galoob.
00:27:26
Speaker
I always thought he was a really good wrestler, man. He sadly passed away in 2000, early 2017, but love Tom Zink. I think he was a really great wrestler. Tom Zink and Brian Pillman were one of my favorite tag teams when I was watching WCW as a kid. I've always wanted a really good Tom Zink figure. Sam Rosenthal says, will you be Power Town completionist? What are your thoughts on all the numerous different companies?
00:27:51
Speaker
You get a pretty solid discount if you buy the whole series. I'm not going to commit to being 100% completionist, but I see us probably just buying the whole sets and if it's one or two, we don't want to set. We can either use them for giveaways in the Facebook group or throw them up on eBay to recoup some costs. Or yes, or somebody in the group might want it. You know what I mean? Yeah, but I probably... I think that's because it's kind of pricey if you just do them like...
00:28:16
Speaker
What's the retail on these? I think they ended up going for about 40 bucks a piece and it was like two, maybe 200 if you bought the whole set, something like that. I forget. There was definitely a solid discount for getting the whole set. All right. And that wraps up our listener mail for today. All

Closing Thoughts and Thanks

00:28:32
Speaker
right. Thanks a lot, guys. We've actually made a true chick quickie unless Sheena really belabors the point here. We're going to make it out of here in less than 30 minutes. Sheena hit us with some closing thoughts.
00:28:43
Speaker
I'll just echo what Seth had to say. If you see these pop up and they have an extra batch somewhere, jump on them. No delays.
