00:00:44
Speaker
I'm not going to lie. I'm a little beat. I feel like the, since August, our, ah our weekends have just been like packed. Football and birthday parties. Yeah. We've had know, football practice during the week, you know, obviously. And then it's just like, you know, the weekends are just balls to the wall. State fair.
00:00:59
Speaker
Yeah, exactly. i mean, it's all good stuff, you know, but it's just like, we've had events. Like we, we haven't even been able to do all the things that like we've been invited to because there's been so many different things going on. so Yeah, it's um I'm ready to just sit down, correct this so crack this Alani open and talk some wrestling. Which flavor of Alani are you putting up in your veins today? It's Cherry Twist. it was I was part of a three-pack. A lot of these, you know it's it was my last choice. It's good, but it it kind of I'm getting a lot of these built up because they do come in the the Costco pack, and I usually default to ah other flavors first. Where's Cherry Twist at on your hierarchy of Alani flavors? It's in the middle. It's really good. Nice, refreshing cherry, lime,
00:01:37
Speaker
ah cherry lime flavor profile, kind of like a Sonic, you know cherry limeade situation. But, ah you know, there's other flavors that I think are better.

Family Anecdotes & Nostalgia

00:01:45
Speaker
Tell us what's new on the farm. Not a whole lot. Same old, same old. I do want to share something funny that the kids have started doing around here that, ah you know, I hope hope catches on and I hope maybe you can share it with your kids and they'll do it because it's super cute. So, you know, we have a pretty lively backyard. We have all kinds of little creatures and critters and things like that that run around, birds.
00:02:04
Speaker
frogs lizards all that and now we have an abundance of toads that live back there and in the brush and anytime the kids see a toad now they're always like toady roads toady roads you know so i just thought that was super cute and uh you know now the whole family calls toads toady roads so tony i call him toady woads toady woads yeah um yeah man tell us what's the latest on the uh scary movie list um What did we watch last? Killer Clowns.
00:02:31
Speaker
We watched Killer Clowns from Outer Space. yeah because we Brett was getting a little jealous. you know My son, I've kind of ah raised him up to to love all the things spooky and scary. But i mean at at the end of the day, he's still eight years old. so you know there there There is an age-appropriate limitation on what he's able to watch. Yeah.
00:02:47
Speaker
He thinks he's a big kid, so he's been getting super jealous that Seth and I have been staying up late watching some ah scary films. So we watched Killer Clown so that he could join us. ah we gave We gave him the option to earn a scared stupid, which he loves. We you know ever we we like that movie. um But he was just like, that that movie's for little kids. you know And so he's he ah thinks he's ready to watch something intense. But, I mean, the kid is scared of the dark, so, ah you know.
00:03:10
Speaker
It's it's honestly mind boggling that we haven't had a remake of Killer Clowns, man. I feel like that movie one, it's aged really, really well as far as just a fun horror movie that's not trying to be like, you know, a 24 like high art or anything. Yeah, it's it's super fun. It's aged really, really well. Obviously, the effects are great.
00:03:26
Speaker
And I thought there's a lot of nostalgia for it, you know. um now that you know people that kind of grew up on it like us or adults with disposable income you see i feel like you've seen more and more killer clown stuff at like spirit halloween each year so we had the video game came out like two years ago that was you know decent for what it was i don't think it was you know i don't think it straight up scratched the itch though for clowns nostalgia man i feel like uh we could have a so i feel like you could do a really good remake with a big budget like you said, I think it's aged really well, which is kind of, you know, the practical effects. I feel like if you use like really good practical effects in your movies, like it it does prolong the the life of your, of your movie without it like feeling like it's like of a certain time, you know? So, um but I could see, you know, we were kind of talking about it as we were watching. I would love to see somebody take the killer clowns and make it like super dark, you know, and kind of like really kind of make the clowns super evil, you know, and not as campy. I'm cool with it going either direction. I feel like it's kind of like down the middle as far as like horror comedy. Probably needs a little more comedy, but i like um I'd like to see them take a hard turn either direction. Either go like like you said, dark horror, or I'd be cool with them making like a straight up comedy out of it. You know, something closer to the tone of like Zombieland. Yeah. Closer to that ah than what it was, but great movie. Definitely recommend it for a watch this Halloween season. Mm-hmm. Again, want to remind you, this show is brought to you by Ringside Collectibles. Use code Chick Foley there.

Sheen, you ready to talk wrestling? Let's go.

Live Events & Wrestling Experiences

00:05:00
Speaker
All right. So first of all, we are fresh off of a live wrestling event. Myself and my daughter stayed back. Stella wasn't feeling the best. She's got some dental stuff going on. So she was kind of having a rough day. And so her and I had a girl's day. But the boys headed out to Memphis to go to Memphis Wrestling today. So ah what was what was the vibe of Memphis Wrestling? Yeah.
00:05:18
Speaker
Great show, man. We saw... um We saw Aaron Roberts help his his little sidekick, Brother Zay, defeat Mike Anthony for the Internet Championship. Kalisto was the big featured attraction this go-around. He had an amazing match with Tim Bosby in the main event, and it's just lit, dude. If you're anywhere in the ah you know Memphis, Arkansas, Mississippi area, definitely find a way to get over to Memphis Wrestling because the shows just keep getting ah better and better. Brad got an awesome pick with Kalisto, with Tim Bosby after the main event. and yeah He's basically a regular there, so all the wrestlers mess with him. It's just an absolutely great time, and it's super cheap, dude. We were...
00:05:52
Speaker
including concessions. It was less than 60 bucks for me and Brett to have the best seats in the house and, you know, load up ice cream, sodas, all that good stuff. Get some, get some pictures and meet and greets with the wrestlers. You just can't beat it, man. Support your local indie, wherever that may be.
00:06:05
Speaker
Facts, especially since the ah you know everything else is getting so expensive. it's It's a fun time, dude. The vibe is always high. Energy is always high. And it's just cool to support those guys. And eventually they may end up on your NXT TV or your AEW. Yeah, I mean, dude, we saw Cappuccino Jones there earlier this year. Now he's the WWE ID champion, man. So, yeah, you never know where these guys going end up. Hang time Marco Harris. That's a name to keep eye on, man. I've been pumping him up for a while on this show. Yeah, when we saw him last time, he Remember the name Hang Time Marco Harris. I think he's definitely got a very bright future.
00:06:38
Speaker
um Let's go to AW All Out. So again, Sheena was on birthday party duty yesterday. yesterday They had a... They ended up staying at the top. How long were y'all there for that birthday party? was a marathon, dude. Like five and a half hours, dude. It was a whole thing. you know It was at our friend's house out in the country.
00:06:51
Speaker
ah She had a laser tag, like a professional laser tag set up for all of us. you know Of course, the grown-ups got in on it too. Big water slide and you know trampoline. The kids were just... running amok. Grownups were kind of just sitting around, you know, cracking a few brews and enjoying the vibe.
00:07:06
Speaker
But ah yeah, we ended up staying like five and a half hours. So it was it was an all-day event after getting up super early and having an away game for ah for football. So yesterday... That we won. You left out... That we won. Yeah, we won. It was a defensive struggle, but we won, ah you know, 6-0 in the last minute of the game. So...
00:07:22
Speaker
Super intense game. And again, we were we had to drive like 45 minutes away for it. So, you know, it was ah it was a long day yesterday, but all all good stuff. And I didn't get to watch, ah I mean, much wrestling at all. i definitely didn't get to watch AEW. So I'm going to let Seth take the reins. I said all that to say, ah you know Sheena was out and about. i was I was here at the house by myself watching AEW All Out.
00:07:41
Speaker
First off, I want to say this was the first um AEW pay-per-view available on HBO Max. It was a seamless experience. um No issues whatsoever getting that ordered and getting it on the tube.
00:07:56
Speaker
What was that?
00:07:59
Speaker
He's here. Could it be?
00:08:05
Speaker
Jordan, is that you? have made it. What's up, man? wait i have a Rosen from my slumber. A Rosen. What did you guys have for dinner that you just finished up, dude?
00:08:17
Speaker
Chicken cordon bleu. Oh, nice. man So is is like the string is this like the legit chicken cordon bleu with like the ham stuffed inside the the chicken breast? Or what version of chicken cordon bleu is this? Because there's some different ones out there.
00:08:29
Speaker
Yep, ham and Swiss stuffed inside a chicken breast. It was delicious. Nice, dude. We started making, ah you know, Sheena gets like the Chick-fil-A style, like ah chicken breast from Costco and stuff.
00:08:41
Speaker
And we make like the Arby style chicken cordon bleu, like, you know, if air fry up one those chicken breasts, put it on a sandwich with a slice of ham and some Swiss. Mm-hmm. Yeah, that that's really good too.
00:08:51
Speaker
Yeah, man. Shout out to those ah Costco chicken breasts, dude. Those are money, dude. Yeah, they're really good. Especially like right now with everybody in sports and whatnot, you know you need a quick freaking hearty dinner. like Yesterday we are at that birthday party. I made myself a chicken Caesar sandwich, dude. So I took one of those brioche buns we had. I toasted it.
00:09:08
Speaker
I sprayed each side with Caesar salad dressing. Yeah. Then I fried up the chicken breast on there and then I got some of fresh Parmesan and shaved it, dude. There like a mountain of fresh shaved Parmesan cheese on top of the chicken breast. nice you used my uh the cost i always keep a block of parmesan in the uh did you use any lettuce no do we have lettuce we had romaine dude you you literally missed the main component of a season yeah i i didn't really look that hard but i didn't see it at first glance i was like giant four pack in the middle of the fridge from costco it's you know literally taking up like an eighth of the refrigerator just open the door it's
00:09:42
Speaker
Eyeball level. So Jordan, you ah you didn't miss much, man. We talked about Memphis wrestling this afternoon. Now we're on to all out. I was saying the the experience, buying, watching on HBO Max Seamless. Really like that. It's nice to have the $10 off. So that was clean.

AEW's Pay-Per-View Quality

00:09:55
Speaker
um I thought the show was good, man. AEW, they're in a similar spot to how NXT was between 2016 2019 with TakeOvers, man. It's such a consistently high bar, dude. And this show didn't disappoint by any means, right? It was really, really good.
00:10:10
Speaker
um But I feel like if you show me any of these matches a year from now, just show me, you know, the guys on the canvas wrestling, I'm going to be hard pressed to go back and tell you exactly what show it happened at. You know, it was ah it was it was kind of just more of the same, which isn't a bad thing.
00:10:23
Speaker
But I think this kind of just fell strictly in the in the middle of the pack as far as AW pay-per-views go. Mox and Darby was a lot of fun, and I like the backstage segment with you know Mox getting set on fire. ah Jordan, I know you caught up on some of the high spots today, man. What what did you think of All Out?
00:10:38
Speaker
Yeah, I mean, AEW is kind of... ah Sometimes they kind screw themselves because they have set the bar so high. So when you get a pay-per-view that's not necessarily the most memorable ever, it just... I don't know. It's not that it fell flat. like I obviously watched some of the matches, and the matches were good. like The quality of matches are always high with AEW. It's just... I don't know.
00:10:59
Speaker
You come off the summer they just had, and like all in just how good that whole show was and how many moments were on it and it's like... I mean, how much of this are we honestly going to remember even in a month? Like, it's just, I mean, outside Statlander winning, like, like what what stood out from that for you to just go back and watch it in a month? I mean, that's just kind of where I was at with this show from what I saw. Dude, I think something they could have done that I think would have would have taken it up, maybe maybe not a letter grade, but maybe it takes it from a B to a B plus, man, as far as a show goes.
00:11:33
Speaker
um So, you know, they had that really cool backstage segment where Darby kind of gets his payback on the Deathriders, freaking sets Mox on fire. Dude, I think you end the show with that, man. You know, have have that you know, because the ending was kind of flat, dude. I kept waiting for something to happen. I don't know. It didn't really make sense for anybody to come out except maybe MJF.
00:11:50
Speaker
But I kept waiting for something to happen. You know, Hangman beats Kyle Fletcher, and it's an awesome match, dude. Instant classic. Match of the year candidate. They go 30-plus minutes. Hangman wins and we just fade out with Hangman celebrating with the belt.
00:12:01
Speaker
It fell kind of flat, dude. We're spoiled nowadays, but I feel like across both companies, dude, they've really kind of conditioned us so to expect some sort of surprise, some sort of hook finish, man. I thought if they would have simply...
00:12:13
Speaker
um you know hangman wins play that out the same way but then all of a sudden tony shivani's you know hey we have something going on backstage and maybe amp up the drama a little bit make it a little bit more extreme uh but i think if you end with with that fire scene i think that's something that makes me want to like you know tune in wednesday to see what happens man any any thoughts on that j man Yeah, I'd agree with you. I mean, like I said, they just kind of become a prisoner of their own success. Yeah, dude. You just said Fletcher and hang man was a match of the year candidate.
00:12:42
Speaker
But awesome. The problem is, is how many match the year candidates has a W already had this year? and Is that the one you're going to remember the most? Like, It's just one of those things. And I'm with you, man. You always want to end the show. I'm like a really high spot and not saying that hangman beating Kyle Fletcher is not a high spot. I mean, dude, it's hangman and Kyle Fletcher deserved this moment. I'm glad he got it. Like he's going to win that world title at some point. It's just a matter of time.
00:13:07
Speaker
But yeah, but you just want something to remember. yeah Yeah, i definitely they definitely won the weekend,

Streaming Challenges & Event Critiques

00:13:14
Speaker
man. It was definitely better than Wrestlepalooza, man. So going on the other side, you know we talked about how seamless it was with HBO Max.
00:13:20
Speaker
um I didn't personally have any issues with the ESPN app. I was able to to get in and get watching Wrestlepalooza, no problem. I know some of our fairly fellow Foley fan members ah had issues, man. like they I think YouTube TV was the big one, dude. I think Jordan's in this camp also, man. that you know this You subscribe the YouTube TV, man.
00:13:39
Speaker
but Basically, the the company line from Disney slash ESPN is checks in the mail, right? They're going to get it sorted out. But to not have it sorted out before really your first big event um on this new platform is really kind of disgraceful, man. Especially if people paid 30 bucks. Like the people that did shell out. like Well, no, the people that subscribe to the app were fine. It's the people that. So we get ours because we have Hulu live TV. So we get it for free, no additional cost.
00:14:02
Speaker
And most of the people that have like that were good to go. But YouTube TVs, it's it's a big one, man. It's right up there as far as like one of the top services people get their live TV from. And they did not have the the seamless integration with the ESPN app. So like i said, I know as a handful of folks in our our Foley group that either had to miss it or had to result to doing the, you know, the hokey pokey dance with the VPNs or finding a pirated stream, whatever.
00:14:26
Speaker
It just sucks when your program is not accessible, dude, especially on something like that, man. Yeah. So that was first off. did i think you did How did you end up getting ah to watch some of it, Jordan? Just finding some streams online or what?
00:14:37
Speaker
Yeah, ah so I ended up just finding the matches that I wanted to watch online. But, dude, to to roll out this platform and basically tell everybody a month ago that, hey, if you have a streaming service for cable TV, you're going to have access to this. And like you said, I think YouTube TV is the number one subscribed streaming service because, I mean, it has NFL Sunday tickets. So so many eight people have to have it just for that reason. um It's the same thing with DirecTV when DirecTV had Sunday ticket. Like, it it was just the biggest in the world because of what they had.
00:15:07
Speaker
And the fact that they didn't get this sorted out before their first show, dude, what a PR nightmare for WWE as far as this goes. The ESPN rollout already sucked anyway. And then you add that to it, like not good. Yeah. We talked about how there wasn't a lot of fanfare around like the actual like launch of the app. And then, you know, with this kind of just like the, the poor integration and then the kind of just like questionable show, you know, I feel like it all kind of just came crashing down, you know Yeah. And it to be fair, the ESPN stuff isn't directly on WWE's hands, but, you know, they're still they they got in bed with these guys. You know, you think they would have had this sorted out. I wonder what the the conversation between like TKO and ESPN is. You know, they're probably somebody got their ass chewed over this for sure, man. um But yeah, the the show is kind of whatever, dude. It was, you know.
00:15:54
Speaker
I was expecting some big things with Cena and Brock. I thought that was going to be, you know, highly entertaining WWE style main event match. It was a squash, man. What are we doing there, man? We have five dates left for Cena, man. So is is Brock spinning off to do something else? or or I mean, are we setting up for Cena and for Brock to be Cena's last opponent now? We can't, dude. There's no way where we can, like, burn these last few matches on Brock Lesnar, dude. and i And you know me, dude. i I love Brock. Obviously, like, you know, there's been some questionable moral choices and whatnot. But I have loved Brock as a performer and an entertainer.
00:16:24
Speaker
But, dude, what... an And this is, like, taking us all the way back to, like, vintage Brock, right? Like, I feel like Brock had this, like, character arc where he just became this, like, beloved cowboy. Cowboy Brock. You know what I mean? Yeah, and it was just... He looked like was fun, having a good time.
00:16:40
Speaker
And now he's... Yeah, now he's back to... Because he got Heyman back with him. Yeah, he had freaking Paul Heyman. He just, like, came out and, like, F-5'd a bajillion times, and then, like, that was it, dude. I feel like... I just feel like this was a misstep in every way possible, dude.
00:16:54
Speaker
Because Brock loses nothing if he lost to Cena. You know what I mean? But like this is seen this is it for Cena. As much as we talk about, and we're going to talk about this forever, as much as we talk about how well AEW did Sting's retirement tour, WWE e has completely botched It's been the way. It's un unbelievable.
00:17:12
Speaker
and Dude, every single person that I saw on like TikTok and stuff last night was furious that they had Brock just squash Cena in one of his last matches. Like... um whatever i do think it ends up where uh brock ends up on uh the visionaries team for war games and then cena does his own team like that that's whatever but that'd be fun just having just having brock squash cena on it to open the show to open the freaking show yeah and you're launching the first yeah espn show and that's what you started with like there's kids crying in the crowd and stuff it's like
00:17:47
Speaker
what the fuck are you doing a w gave you the blueprint for what it's supposed to look like on a retirement tour he's not supposed to be losing these type of matches like dude that's what makes it fun it's like all right this is the last couple times we'll see cena now it's in ingrained in your memory like oh you got squashed by brock on wrestle fart a loser or whatever you want dude this whole thing was just a money grab by wwe that show stunk Imagine if you like paid if you like paid those premium prices to be yeah to be there, dude. And and this is what this is what you get, dude. And to me, the whole thing with John Cena, like even leading up to this in like previous years, like it's all just been so weird. you know Because John Cena was like this entity in WWE, right? He's never been like the the absolute best wrestler on the card, right?
00:18:32
Speaker
But just, I mean, to say he's not a freaking legend or a powerhouse, is just you're just being ignorant, right? And so like the last few years they had the match like that wasn't really a match with Undertaker. Right. And they had like the Austin Theory era.
00:18:44
Speaker
And then it was like, you know, he got squashed by Solo. And I'm like, what? Like prior to that heel turn win the belt at Mania, he hadn't really been successful in ring and since like late 2016, early 2017. Exactly. And so then you you have all of that and then you just pile on this like.
00:19:01
Speaker
absolute ass like final run dude and i just it's unfortunate yeah the the only things i'll remember from this final run is that promo the night before summer slam and then the match with cody at summer slam dude like when something when i want to go back and relive cenas last year i'll watch those two things The actual turn was cool.

John Cena's WWE Legacy

00:19:19
Speaker
Like the the night of the turn. The real turn was cool, but it's aged so poorly. It has aged poorly, yeah. i thought the I thought the promo where he turned back face, I thought that was an all-timer, dude I thought that was one of the best promos John Cena's ever cut, man. Then that match with Cody.
00:19:32
Speaker
The match with Cody might be my favorite Cena match, dude. I thought that was just primo, man. Mm-hmm. But yeah, dude, it was weird. I did kind of like the kids crying in the crowd. i know you guys mentioned that. I like that because kayfabe rules.
00:19:43
Speaker
So I don't mind the kids crying. But yeah, just a weird choice, man. And think, Jordan, I think you're probably spot on, man. I think this is all that you said leading the war games. Yeah, Jordan.
00:19:54
Speaker
Yeah, yeah yeah we got we're going to have the uneasy alliance between, ah you know, Hayman and... the lesnar and the rollins gang right um so yeah i i'd say that's definitely where we're heading here but kind of weird man other than that show was all over the place quality wise dude you know looks like jay usso got a concussion in that match they they had a pretty fun like extreme rule style tag match going with the bronze against the usos but then jay accidentally busts his own head open uh when the chair ricochets off brawn breaker's bag you could tell he was out of it man it looked like they rushed to finish a little bit um and the bronze finally actually won a match man yeah they've been getting their asses there's that yeah um
00:20:28
Speaker
I mean, they've been the main event on every Raw for the last two months. Like, the least you can do is feed them a win to make look like they're actually credible. I feel like that's been a pattern lately, too, that I'm just like, are we going back here where it's just like we're literally keeping the same rhythm on Raw and SmackDown for, like, months at a time, dude? Like, it's... It's a holding pattern.
00:20:49
Speaker
Did it feel like to you that they were they're teasing LA Knight joining the Vision, too? It's like... I don't love that at all, but it feels like that's what they're teasing. No, i could see him I could see him being on the War Games team. like I don't think it's going to be like a hard like join. I think it's going to be... I could see him being on... They're going soft launch the relationship. Yeah.
00:21:08
Speaker
I thought Stephanie EO was good, man. Obviously, not a lot of story there. Just straight up prize fight, but I thought both ladies delivered. Steph, you know... She's gotten so freaking over,

AJ Lee's Comeback Performance

00:21:17
Speaker
man. Shout out to her. And really without even a ton of crazy angles or promos. really Just the the physical charisma and how good of a wrestler she is, man. So I'm excited to see what she does with this belt.
00:21:28
Speaker
Io might be the best wrestler in w WWE right now, dude. She's awesome, dude. Every match she's in is just a banger. yeah This match was really good. Like you said, there was no buildup at all to it. It just was a good match. And yeah, they delivered. The the ladies definitely delivered.
00:21:42
Speaker
Yeah, I echo all that. i love I love Stephanie, and I agree. I think Io's top-notch, dude. um We got the freaking mixed tag match. It was fun for what it was, dude. I probably would have shaved about 7 to 8 to 10 minutes. was 30 minutes long. 29, 8. But in fairness, Rollins and Becky, I think, you know, they worked hard to get people booing them and started. They stalled for about the first two or three minutes to really get the crowd against them Because I think even though they're heels, I think it's safe to say they're both still beloved by the audience, you know? So I think they got to work extra hard to get some true heat going.
00:22:14
Speaker
yeah And they did. I mean now even I was getting annoyed with them just stalling at the start. So it was fun to finally to see Punk and AJ Lee get their hands on them. Big takeaway is, dude, AJ Lee has just not missed a step, man. I'm i'm looking for her to take that Intercontinental belt off Becky in short order.
00:22:27
Speaker
Becky can go away until WrestleMania season. And then see AJ just have, I want to see her go on a run with that icy belt, just having some amazing matches with some fresh talent. Yeah, I heard, i you know, I thought it was good, too. I mean, I wasn't being overly critical, obviously, of AJ.
00:22:41
Speaker
um But then I get online, of course, which is like the worst possible thing you can do. And you see people like being like, oh, AJ has lost the Austin step or she has some ring rust and stuff. I was like, I did not catch that. thought she wrestling circles around Becky. I mean, Becky's not the best worker at this point anyways, but she definitely like she belonged. thought she looked great, dude. If I just dropped in, you couldn't i would not have had any idea that it was her first match in 10 years.
00:23:02
Speaker
Yeah, pretty wild, dude. And she just looks like, I mean, she hasn't aged at all. She looks better, dude. I feel like she looks better, man, than she did in 2015 somehow. She looks younger than a lot of the ladies that are on the roster right now. like it yeah It was wild to see. yeah she She looked good.
00:23:18
Speaker
I mean, there was a couple missed things, but I don't know why people are dwelling on it. Of course there was. She hasn't wrestled in 10 years. I know. What'd you expect? You're going to have some missteps. And like Seth just said, Becky's not the greatest wrestler ever either. So, I mean, that's that's kind of a, I don't know. I felt like they did really good with this match for what it was, but it was way too long. It was way too long. I enjoyed it, but i was like, you know, at some points I was like, I found myself scrolling and i was like, okay, like I need to lock in and watch this. But, you know, was just going on and on and on. I loved Seth and Becky's look, man.
00:23:49
Speaker
Like, yeah, it's great. They they get thrown up on Mattel creations right now for freaking, you know, 100 bucks, man, two pack of those guys with the entrance gear. I'm not even thinking about it. I'm getting it. They looked incredible. Yeah, we definitely i mean we definitely need those in figure form, if nothing else, just to like just to commemorate like their on-screen presence together. But ah yeah, super cool.
00:24:08
Speaker
how how And just how much better does this go around than 2019? The Man's Man is like dark. tucked it away in the dark files of my brain, dude. You know, something to think about, man. Like, I didn't really think about it until last night. You know, they had kind of just started dating when they did that in 2019. They were, because they didn't really go public with their relationship until WrestleMania 35, that March. And, you know, the rumors had been around like a couple months prior to that that they were starting to date. But they had been together less than a year when they were on screen in 2019. Really? And now they've been married for seven years. So think about how much better they know each other. That's got to lend to why it's been way less awkward. I think it's just more natural for them to be heels, too. True. I did not realize. I guess in my mind, when I think about that time, I feel like they had been together a while. They went public. So around like January, started being rumored. Like people would say like, you know, we've seen around stuff. But it wasn't, it was the day after WrestleMania 35 when they both won the championship that Becky posted that picture of them together backstage and made it, you know, Facebook official.
00:25:05
Speaker
Or whatever. Hard launch. Yeah, hard launched it. And then, ah yeah, so they were still, you know, in the kind of getting to know you phase, man.

Wrestling Chemistry & Match Reviews

00:25:12
Speaker
Well, you can tell because it was awky. It was so it was it was oh so bad. that shirt That shirt is still one of the most cringe things I've ever seen in life. Yeah, I want to say it had a little run in our worst shirt ever tournament this past March, man. Yeah, it did pretty good.
00:25:28
Speaker
But yeah, fun match, dude. And then Cody and Drew, that was your standard WWE main event match. Dude, I saw some support for Drew, man. I think the fans were behind Drew. And dude, honestly, man, like it's definitely become a storyline. They've incorporated into his character how much Drew's gotten screwed. I think the ref did fuck Drew over last night, man, by holding him up from kicking Cody. like It wasn't like...
00:25:50
Speaker
It was anything that crazy. You know, the Cody's knocked down against the commentators table. Drew's about to go for basically a claymore through the table. And the ref gets in front of Cody to protect him, dude. What's up with that, man? If i if I'm Drew, um I'm hiring smart Mark Sterling. i'm firing ah I'm filing a formal complaint on this. Ref gets in front of Cody.
00:26:07
Speaker
to protect them that gives Cody enough chance to recover. And when drew goes for the move, uh, he goes crashing through the table, gets back in and you know, the, the bum leg doesn't let him do the claymore and Cody gets the win. I, so I saw and heard support for drew in the building, man. It was, it was still pro Cody, pro pro Cody, pro Cody crowd. I'm going to say that one slow. was still a pro Cody crowd for sure. But there were some rumblings of support for drew man. Um, but I thought it was a pretty decent main event. What'd you guys think of Cody and, uh, and drew McIntyre?
00:26:36
Speaker
Same, but it was like, again, for your like biggest show and like all these promises of like these special things and like, ah you know, surprises and whatnot. It was just pretty, pretty standard operating procedure. And I was just kind of like, I feel like when you, again, it would have been a perfectly fine match. But when you over promise and under deliver, then it's like, like, and it felt kind of meh.
00:26:57
Speaker
Yeah, similar to the ending with Russell Paluzzi. Like I said, I thought i thought both shows underwhelmed to a slight, ah all out to a much lesser degree, but I felt I was slightly underwhelmed by both shows yesterday, specifically with the endings.
00:27:09
Speaker
Same thing at the end of the night, you know, they're lingering on Cody, and even though the, you know, the graphics start coming up, the trademark stuff and everything, we still know, you know, that's not always the end of the show. I was waiting for, you know, The Rock, obviously that's little bit more of a long shot. was waiting for The Rock's music to hit, or I'm thinking Randy Orton's about to pop up out of nowhere, RKOM, or Literally anything, man. But no, we just fade out with Cody retaining the belt once again. So, don't know. Overall, man, I thought it was definitely, you know, I'm not going to say it was a straight-up failure because there was some good stuff there, but I'd say it was a solid C-minus, man, for the first show, the WWE ESPN partnership. You left out the most important event that happened of the evening. Oh, God.
00:27:47
Speaker
but we got Stephanie McMahon announced for the ah the non-existent Hall of Fame. I didn't have too much problem with that, man. I saw a lot of people shitting on that, dude. Like, obviously, you know, it's ah you gotta have a pretty strong like leap of faith to believe that Steph truly didn't know, but I don't think Steph's a good enough actress to pull off that surprise, man. I think they really did surprise her there, and I thought, you know.
00:28:08
Speaker
I think she was genuinely surprised. I don't have a problem with that. It's just like, again, i don't know. this The whole thing, I was just kind of Well, I mean, dude, you got to just give it. It's its really was just a tribute to human nature and the duality of man, dude. In 26 years, they've gone from The Undertaker kidnapping her and almost forcing her to become his bride, you know, tied up on the cross. yeah Straight up Stockholm syndrome. Yeah. And and within 26 years, you can get to a totally wholesome moment like that where he's, you know, telling

Stephanie McMahon's Hall of Fame Induction

00:28:34
Speaker
she's in the Hall of Fame. So if you can't be happy for it man, like, come on.
00:28:36
Speaker
Yeah. True. Yeah. It's just, i don't know It's so weird the way they do everything now. And, like, announcing someone this far out from WrestleMania 2 is wild to me. Like, that that was our surprise for Wrestlepalooza was Stephanie getting announced as a Hall of Famer and everybody looking shocked. Like, we didn't know this was eventually coming. I don't know. And then having them roll Undertaker out there is just...
00:28:59
Speaker
I don't know. It just, for me, it just it just fell flat for me. I wonder why you wouldn't just have Triple h do the announcement, man. I feel like that would be an even more wholesome of a moment. I feel like that's how they should have started tonight. Like, have Triple H in the ring and then have him announce Stephanie's in the Hall of Fame. Like, it just seemed like... Honestly, I feel like she... was she would have She had a more wholesome connection with Undertaker than I feel like she would have with ah with Triple H, Deidre. He did drug her. They both both have both had problematic courtships. That was the same year, too. The same year that the Undertaker tied her up and forced her to, and tried to force her to marry her in like the Unholy Union. somebody say nobody We need to check the hard drive of somebody in the writer's room when that was going on. Oh, it's Vince. yeah i mean ah you i mean you think you know ah vince was like hey by the way i want you to like you know date rape or yes know yes da where to stephanie uh all that out of the way though steph much deserved hall of fame much deserved absolutely one of the most compelling most compelling most hateable characters yes always did a good job man and from everything we see i think she's like you know
00:30:07
Speaker
The apple did fall far from the tree with her and Vince, man. She seems like a really, really sweet person. You never really hear too many people with bad things to say about Steph, man. Yeah. The, what was it? And we share a birthday. We're birthday twins, yeah Stephanie and I. So, you know.
00:30:22
Speaker
yeah there's There is one thing I want to say. like I did think the the main event was just whatever. it was like a paint-by-numbers main event. But I had said this a couple weeks ago that I just feel like the top of the SmackDown card is so stale right now because they don't have anybody new.
00:30:36
Speaker
So I feel like that's part of the reason Drew's starting to get some support because it's like, dude, are we just going to see the same thing again for another year? I mean, the The Roman thing was like so captivating because it just was, oh my God, who's eventually going to beat him? like The Cody thing's obviously not as captivating because he already lost this year. so i don't know. it just It's so weird. and To me, Wrestlepalooza was nothing more than a cash grab from WWE because what they promised they were going deliver all and what we thought we were going to get with a bunch of surprises and stuff.
00:31:06
Speaker
Just nothing happened. I mean, it it was no different than a Monday night raw to me. Like that could have easily been a raw. And I've been like, Oh, that was a pretty decent raw, but for a pay-per-view it's like, it could have been a Saturday night's main event. You know what i mean? Like, I feel like it was a perfect, perfectly appropriate card for a Saturday night's main event. Yeah. Very close to, yeah, very close to a really good Saturday night's main event. I think that's solid, man. Uh, do news coming out of the show, man, already announced for crown jewel.
00:31:30
Speaker
Cody and Seth are going at it again. Champ against champ. This is gonna be pretty sick. man Remember last year it was Cody and Gunther for the the biggest belt ever created in the history of wrestling. ah Cody and said, you gotta imagine Seth getting his lick back on this one. Plus, Seth got all the goons now. You know, he was a heel before it was babyface.
00:31:48
Speaker
ah Cody against heel Seth Seth didn't have any friends back then now he's got a gang behind him ah maybe we see Brock get involved to kind of solidify that going into war games but not I can't and I can't see Cody winning that crown jewel belt two years in a row so that's gonna be pretty good he doesn't want to be Mr. Crown Jewel Yeah, yeah. And then we got ah ah Tiffany will be facing ah Stephanie.
00:32:09
Speaker
ah correct That's going to be a fun match, too. that's too i'm I'm assuming that when we just get the straight up, you know, prize fight, let's see who the best best champ is. But Seth and Cody should be fun, man. They already had a little stare down in the post show, so there's going to be some some hype going into it. For for a what's ultimately a meaningless match, I'm really excited to see how they go on this one.
00:32:27
Speaker
um So this they've basically turned Crown Jewel into what Night of Champions should have been. Yeah, pretty much. which du Honestly, man, I say expand on it, dude. If we're already doing the the top man and the top woman, dude, let's have the tag team champs go against each other.
00:32:41
Speaker
And let's see the IC champ go against the US champ. Let's just go all the way down the line. It'll be almost like a brand warfare game, but it's just champs versus champs. So yeah, i guess i didn't I thought that crown jewel thing was going to be just a one-off or just a Saudi thing. But no, they're taking it to to Perth now with the the same gimmick with the the top champs facing each other.
00:32:59
Speaker
And this is seen as last pay-per-view of right now. Like that it's the last one he scheduled for. Correct. Yeah. But I'm almost positive. He's going to be at one end for survivors. Yeah. He's, I mean, he's technically not scheduled for it, but yeah, I agree with you. But I mean, technically this is his last pay-per-view.
00:33:15
Speaker
Yeah.

Crown Jewel Excitement & Rumors

00:33:16
Speaker
All right. ah Yeah. So that's it for the weekend and wrestling. Do have any other stories we're getting to from inside the ring? No, let's hit some figure talk.
00:33:46
Speaker
It's been long
00:33:51
Speaker
this segment and the rest of the show is brought to you by ringside collectibles use code chick foley to save ten percent
00:34:04
Speaker
we got to start off with some very very sad news they hit the inner webb yesterday morning
00:34:14
Speaker
without you my friend and I'll tell you about it when I According to an insider source from AEW that has leaked stuff before, so he's a known reliable source, the AEW-JazzWears partnership is no more, man. AEW-JazzWears 2020 to 2025. Here it lies.
00:34:36
Speaker
ah not We haven't seen official confirmation on this, but nobody's come out and said, like, no, no, no, this this is bullshit, mate. So it sounds like this pretty... ah It's official. And it makes sense because typically these licensing deals are done for five years at a time. And so it kind of lines up date wise.
00:34:52
Speaker
um And, you know, the line, it's it's been up or down. du I feel like they've righted the ship a little bit over the last two years. But um it's still, man, that from where this line was, like the first year and a half to where it is now, it's it's just it's dropped off big time. So, yeah.
00:35:07
Speaker
First off, man, just kind of anybody want to put a bow on just their thoughts on the AW

AEW Action Figures & JazzWears

00:35:12
Speaker
Jazz Warriors line, man. It's five years, probably close to 200 figures. What do you guys think of their overall job Jazz Warriors did?
00:35:21
Speaker
Supremes were excellent. Supremes were just as good as anything Mattel could put out. The problem was the low points of this line were atrociously bad. There was no defending a lot of it.
00:35:35
Speaker
I said this at the beginning. They were doing way too many repeats. like We got so many Jerichos, so many Moxes out of the gate. They had such a big roster and so many people that... quite possibly could never get a figure and they just never delivered on it it always seemed like they released the figures after like the moment had passed or somebody had got released so to me like jazz wars definitely blew it but to say that there's not money to still be made in an aw line is absolutely insane to me if somebody does it right i feel like there's still plenty of money to be made because there's still a ton of wrestlers that don't have figures Yeah, I agree with you. um i don't know if it was like budgetary or what, like why they were doing so many just like just reap figures on repeat, dude. like You couldn't get a set that already they didn't have somebody that was already out, you know what I mean?
00:36:22
Speaker
um I do agree with you. supremes i mean To me, they are the supreme figure, dude. You basically get... Two figures in one. I love the packaging. I love the the sides, like how they open the sides up for over the top there a lot of them. It's like always nice, clean look on the front. um it just There's some great stuff. AEW has put out some absolutely freaking banger figures, dude. um But like you said, the variance is so high. you know what I mean? Like the the stuff that they did was excellent does not excuse some of the stuff that they put out that you're just like, what the, what the, that last set that they put out, man. I think it was unrivaled 18, dude. Like that's in the mix one of the worst figure sets I've ever seen, dude. I felt like it was like, a gro it felt like it was nothing, but like people in all black gear. And then one of the worst figures ive ever seen with that Mariah May, like,
00:37:08
Speaker
Yeah, so definitely they went out with a whimper. I'm hoping, man, that du I really so i already have that Supreme will Osprey preordered. How about you, Jordan? Yeah, if we don't get that, that's going to be... I'll bummed. That thing looks... Yeah, that figure looks incredible, man. um They got that Sting Legacy pack out, so that's good, man. I feel like that Will Ospreay is really like the only thing I've seen that i like I've got to have, man. they They showed some renders and stuff at Comic-Con.
00:37:31
Speaker
um you know There's the Prince Nana Swerve 2-pack. ah We'll see what happens with it, man, but... It's a bummer, du It's a loss. you know like like You guys both nailed it, man. They had some serious low points, but they also put out some really, really great figures, man. Some of my favorite figures of the last five years have been Jazz Wars. I got a ton of Jazz Wars figures on display in the figure room. Brent loves the Jazz rightt he but He likes AEW better than WWE, which, yeah, I agree. I like their articulation model better.
00:37:59
Speaker
um But, yeah, they had some real stinkers, man. and just ah It took so a while, too. Like you guys said, man, they the figures would be good, but... a lot of times like the guy already had a totally different look and like the moment it passed you know you it felt like he wasn't even in a aw anymore you know what i mean like it would be like that remember uh what was it ricky starks like his figure came out like the week he debuted yeah they had a stretch going for a while yeah him ethan page they had they had a streak going for a little bit dude of guys figures showing up literally the like the weekend that they left man i think that last alistair black that hit jazz was the same the same week he debuted back on raw
00:38:32
Speaker
um It's a bummer. I'm still holding out hope that maybe they kick out at two and Jeremy comes to us tomorrow morning and says like, oh no, this is this is all bullshit. you know We just re-upped. um But I don't know. Who do you guys think are is going to pick up the line? Well, i was going to say, I'm going to jump ahead and Zach Herzler asked us. He said, with the rumor going around the AEW and Jazz Warriors are split, who would you like to see pick up the AEW figure line?
00:38:55
Speaker
Hasbro is obviously the the first name people think of just because they're the other titan besides Mattel. i Dude, I don't know. you know I know the AEW hardcore is going to be. I don't know if they quite um don't if they're to be on Hasbro's radar. You know what i mean? Jazzler is obviously a smaller company than those two, man. i don't know if AEW is quite...
00:39:12
Speaker
big enough property that Hasbro is going to snatch him up. I think Boss Fight has done an awesome job with their Legends of Lucha line. um Those similar articulation model. I think those would be good. Obviously, they're a lot smaller than Jazz were, so don't know if they would have the capacity to put them out.
00:39:28
Speaker
If I had my wish, go ahead. mcfarlane is who i think is gonna do it yeah just they've been wanting to get into the wrestling figures for a while they were apparently like the number one competitor if mattel lost the ww wwe line so it wouldn't surprise me and like i said if you do it right there's plenty of money to be made like you just you cannot i mean aw's line started off so hot and it just fizzled out by like line five The problem I see with McFarlane, man, I feel like if McFarlane gets it, it's going to be, they're going to be much closer to like NECA style figures, almost like sculptures. I i don't feel like McFarlane's ever done a great job on like articulated playable figures, you know, which obviously is not a huge thing for collectors like us, but I feel like for sustaining the line, that is important.
00:40:12
Speaker
Um, brett Brett will riot. do Yeah. And I don't know if McFarlane, I feel like if McFarlane gets it, I don't think they're going to do the Mattel scale. I thought like they're going to do their own thing. I think it's key for whoever gets it that, you know, just felt like that Mattel scale has been established as the standard scale for, you know, articulated premium wrestling figures. So I feel like if you go away from that, I think you're going to be starting off behind the eight ball, a man. Um,
00:40:34
Speaker
Not say you can have awesome figures, man. that they They could be totally cool figures, but I just feel like it's really going to be hard to have the line stand on its own if it's existing in like its own universe. if i If I had my wish, man, I don't know if they're ready to get into the fully articulated game. I hope the Major Bros find a way to pick it up. They already have a partnership with AEW for they do aw major bendys and they also do aw big rubber guys right there's already an official sub line of big rubber guys for aw so again huge difference in making the fully articulated modern style figures as opposed to just the ljn remakes but i feel like major bros one one i feel like they would treat the line with the care that it's needed feel like that would give us the best figures and two they don't like to do the pre-order model man i tell you if we're not going to have this major store that's got you know where these are showing up on the shelf with walmart or target go with the major bros because their stuff reduced and they release it they don't do pre-order it and you know two years later maybe you'll get the figures so yeah um but yeah somebody's got to pick it up man they there's just it i mean this is still a huge wrestling company dude like i i feel like to me it's right there even with wcw man i feel like it's pulled neck and neck with wcw is the second best most successful wrestling company of all time and it's like you know a year or two away from passing up wcw slash nwa in my mind
00:41:48
Speaker
um Obviously, they're not taking down WWE, but they've carved out just such a huge chunk of market space in such a short amount of time that even with the drop-off they had the last couple of years, they're still in a really amazing spot for such

Wrestling Industry Dynamics

00:42:00
Speaker
a young company. So I'm hoping someone picks it up, man. We don't go too long without getting AW figures on the show. So there's still a lot of really cool people that we need.
00:42:06
Speaker
Yeah, and like you said, hopefully they just work it out with Jazzwares. That'd be the best case scenario, man. They could patch it up, dude. We need to start. Go to change.org. Start a petition. Yeah. yeah Where's JazzWars? but You got it in at JazzWars. Email, what was her name? Shlomet. Yeah, there was a, I think she's Eastern European, I'm assuming, but she was late. It helped us out. You remember like 2020 Christmas, Jordan, when we got that huge haul of toys from JazzWars for the toy drive? Yeah, reach back out to her. like, hey, what the hell?
00:42:33
Speaker
but You got an inside source. She can get the tea for us. What's going on with this, man? Like, what what is happening? Why are you guys dropp why are you guys dropping AW? Or at least have them send us the leftovers from the warehouse.
00:42:44
Speaker
Yeah, exactly. If y'all need to clearance out all those, ah you know, they those warehouse figs. You know who else thought could be good is ringside, man. If ringside just picks it up direct. You know, they got the LOD figures, which those, you still can't tell me those weren't.
00:42:58
Speaker
at least made in the same factory as jazz where it's dude. Right. Like that jazz where it's like the day shift was working AW figures. The night shift did the, the ringside figures. But yeah, I feel like that might be too much of a, uh, conflict with Mattel WWE. You know, it's one thing to sell the stuff. I think it's quite another, if you're like actively producing and, and behind the line.
00:43:16
Speaker
Um, don't know. So I'll go major bros for my number one pick. Who's your number one pick to get the, uh, to get the line. sheet I'm hoping they stick with jazz where it's dude. That's my, that's my, that's my wish is that it just continues. Cause I, I like continuity, you know,
00:43:28
Speaker
Jordan? Yeah, I would prefer to stick with Jazz, whereas... I don't know, dude. i just I feel like some of these companies we just mentioned might be too small to do it. You're going to have to scale it pretty hard.
00:43:43
Speaker
i don't know. I mean, if McFarlane can use the same scale, I get what you're saying, but like if they could use the same scale, it'd be fine. um I did just read on Jazzwares, though. Did you know Berkshire Hathaway owns Jazzwares right now? Yeah, do you remember I was texting stuff about Warren Buffett. if He's going to go over to his house and ask him about it whenever.
00:44:01
Speaker
and think we saw that a year ago. I do not remember that at all, but to be fair, that was in 2022, so i mean a lot has happened in three years. I remember when that came out always I feel like Warren Buffett lives down the street from Jordan there in Omaha He does yeah I and wanted you to go by and get us to hook up on the the figs do do you think he's tracking Do you think Warren Buffett is tracking this AEW-Jazz Warriors split?
00:44:22
Speaker
i don't know I'll go over to his house tomorrow and hit him up about it Yeah man, so bummer, sad day for us and fans Hopefully hopefully for us they yeah they get this thing sorted out Shane, give us a quick review on the latest Ultimate Edition series Oh, yeah. I'm going to pull them up real quick. We got these in this week. Yep. So we got um a new Eddie Guerrero, Tiffany Stratton, and we got Uncle Howdy in this set.
00:44:47
Speaker
um I'll start with Eddie. I think Eddie looks great. I mean, you know. Probably the best Eddie. Possibly the best Eddie figure. It's not my favorite just I love that 97 Eddie Ultimate Edition, but this figure is awesome. It's leaps and bounds better than that Ruthless Aggression Eddie Guerrero that we got in Ultimate Edition for him.
00:45:02
Speaker
It looks fantastic. um You know, it just it loses a little bit of points because it went up against, you know, ah Tiffany and Uncle Howdy in this particular set, but still a freaking stellar figure.
00:45:13
Speaker
Tiffany Stratton. um I love love the green gear. Green is my favorite color. So I'm so i' stoked. they went What about those globes, though? These might be the biggest globes on action figure. don't think we've ever seen tits this size a Mattel figure. I mean, they had to do a special sculpt for that. This is like Jack Sable-esque, man. Yeah, exactly. 100% Jack Sable-esque.
00:45:34
Speaker
It's wild. I mean, she looks amazing. But yeah, I mean, the the boobs are unhinged, dude. It's like it's ridiculous. But ah she's got the pink Money in the Bank purse, um an additional head sculpt. And like I said, just beautiful sculpt. Super detailed, a lot of unique parts, man. Yeah, it's a really cool figure.
00:45:51
Speaker
um And then we got Uncle Howdy with ah you know three different head sculpts. You got the top hat, interchangeable arms to do with the coat. ah Again, just absolutely freaking nailed it. the The Wyatt Six figures so far have just been stellar. So super stoked to have Uncle Howdy. Walmart three-pack is up for pre-order right now if you're brave enough. But yeah, we have Joe Gacy. We got Dexter Loomis. Now we got Uncle Howdy. And that three-pack, you're going to get another Howdy. And then you're getting Nikki and ah Eric Rowan. So...
00:46:18
Speaker
Truly awesome figures. Some of the best stuff Mattel has done over the past year. yeah um I think that's it before we hit listener mail. Do we got some additional questions, Sheen? Yep.
00:46:36
Speaker
All right. So Tyson Neal Trevino, TNT, he said, so so how satisfied are we with the WWESPN era? And we kind of already touched on that. So I'll just kind of like modify the question. Like, what do we think is going to happen going forward? Do we think this is going to be a ah positive...
00:46:52
Speaker
for wrestling fans or do we think this is going to be at a negative it's not going to be a long-term positive for wrestling fans just because it's another place we got to buy from but it is going to improve de right there wwe is super online they definitely monitor what everybody says i think they know that this was not very well received by both the hardcore and casual fans which you know i think that's where that's when they really started listening right when it when it really picks up steam and the casuals are bitching about it so i think we're going to see some improvement on this because obviously know they're getting paid a lot of money they want to keep espn happy um But yeah, long term though, it's just bad for us, man. we just we didn't We knew it was great at the time. We didn't know just how good we had it when we had the network. WWE is like a good study in just how the streaming stuff has evolved over the last 10, 12 years. Because when it came out in 2014, the thinking was that you know we're going to cut out the middleman on these cable providers, satellite providers. We're going to go direct to consumer on this stuff. Yeah.
00:47:46
Speaker
And we're going put everything all in one place, right? We're going to give you all the WWE stuff here. And it seemed like that was great. And then they realized like how much trouble and money it was, you know, providing their own streaming service. And I think they realized like, dude, we can get way more money. The the parts are worth more than the sum. You know, if we piece this thing out and sell SmackDown rights over here, Raw rights over here, NXT rights here, pay-per-views here, library there. I agree. My stomach is just churning, even just like thinking about these meetings that took place and yeah you know got us to the point where we're at right now. Yeah. So it's basically, you know we can have everybody pay us once for the network or we can get paid you know six different times for all these different things and let them worry about collecting it from these peasant customers. you know so
00:48:27
Speaker
Yeah, it, uh, it sucks, man. But, you know, that's, yeah I mean, dude, it's the cost of doing business if you're gonna watch wrestling, man. That's, that's, that's kind of how I just kind of put on my mind. It's like I can either, i can just, I can, you know, stand my ground and stop watching, or I can suck it up and and keep, you know, tuning in. And unfortunately, I'm absolutely clinically addicted to wrestling. So I'm going suck it up and keep tuning in. Yeah.
00:48:51
Speaker
Jordan, you got any thoughts on ah yeah ESPN? No. though My only issue with yeah ESPN is what happens when the new wears off with WWE. Because, like dude, yeah ESPN has always been like a flavor of the month yeah sports programming. like what because i mean they they they made a point to announce it on game day and stuff they picked the lesnar cena match but like what happens when the newness wears off or you go through a lull which happens in wrestling all the time where it's like not at the peak at that point viewership's a little bit down like what happens to it at that point because i mean it's gonna happen that's just what wrestling is it's a roller coaster ride like
00:49:29
Speaker
it's up and it's down like that's just that's where it is and that's kind of what i fear for is when it actually is down a little bit like what does that look like they're gonna be buried eight tabs deep on the streamer 100 yeah it ain't gonna be front page service and you know like that's just i think peacock did a pretty good job man i i was over it you know it took time to get going but within about year and a half you know if i just if you took me to the wwe tab on peacock it was pretty damn close to what we had with the network man Yeah, yeah. I was pretty bitter whenever we changed over to Peacock. So I was just, you know, again, don't like change like that. I love the curated content collections they set out for us. They put a lot of effort into it. ESPN's not going to do that, dude. No, they got out, you know, a lot of the glitches and stuff that I was bitching about. We never did get timestamps, which, you know, was...
00:50:16
Speaker
Those were clutch, man, the original one. You'd go straight to the end of the matches. I love that. Exactly. So, yeah, never gave us timestamps. But overall, I was happy with Peacock. And I was just, you know, I had been settled into Peacock. And now they're changing it again. They're ruffling your feathers. They're ruffling my freaking feathers. And I just can't stand it. And, you know, the fact that they're ruffling my feathers and, you know, shaking people down for more money. They got by the ankles, bro. They got us by the ankles turning us upside down and shaking all the change out of our pockets, dude. Yes, it's just, it just gives me the...
00:50:44
Speaker
worst freaking pit in my stomach. um My own question I'm going to throw in here really quickly. So, you know, speaking of like the WWE network and stuff and kind of just like how we were discussing AEW and whatnot, like, do we think AEW is ever going to get like an archival presence where it's like, Yeah, I think they put all the old pay-per-views on Max now, dude. I think everything pre-2025 is on Max now. But what about like, can you like watch like weekly TV? They have some of the Dynamites there. They're not all on there. I think they've been rotating on and off.
00:51:12
Speaker
But yeah, but I mean, at this point, there's they're seven years deep, so they got enough stuff. All the pay-per-views are there. It's not it's not the like WWE, because WWE's got the pay-per-views, but they also have all the old documentaries and everything. yeah They have so much. WWE, they're running laps on them.
00:51:28
Speaker
on the lore around the company which i think that's something aw's been missing man it's ah it's hard it's i feel like it that's why sometimes uh it's hard to really sink your teeth into it because it's harder to go back and like relive some of the stuff but getting all the paper views on max is a good first step man because there's some awesome like that 2021 stretch is just an incredible man like i aw 2021 is right there with wwf 1997 for like my favorite years ever of uh of a wrestling company um all right zach hurtzer also hit us with what was your favorite match of the weekend i'll start with jordan um i'd probably go eo and stephanie vacour just because i just i really enjoyed that match and i mean i i said i thought io was probably one of the best workers in wwe so i'll go with that match because to me that was one of the most meaningful matches stephanie got crowned and everything so okay I'll go Mox and Darby. I thought that was great, man. I thought that was just a really fun match.
00:52:23
Speaker
You guys know how i feel about Mox. I thought that was awesome, dude. because It was a great match in a completely different type of way from Stephanie. But I'll go with that one. did Jordan, what did you think when you saw a Pac show up with the new haircut, man?
00:52:36
Speaker
that's absolutely god awesome what happened google it real quick did he have to get that haircut to get back into north america i thought that was require him to look like a dipshit to get back bro i thought that was austin aries at first dude when he first came in i was like why the fuck is austin aries in the death riders dude and then they showed uk uk bloke barber gave him the fucking lloyd christmas cut Bro, hey I mean, dude, he had some of the coolest hair in wrestling, dude. my God.
00:53:04
Speaker
She was getting a lot. Oh, my God. I mean, Pac had the coolest hair, dude. Something had to have happened. He got drunk and set half of it on fire. Maybe all the steroids and HGH over the years made it start falling out, dude. But, dude, I mean, he... This is...
00:53:20
Speaker
pack with the hair down in the face is like an iconic look man and now yeah he dude he lost so much aura with the with that mean he might as well just buzz it off at this point man wow yeah that that was a crazy go back and look at the law i mean dude he had the coolest hair dude with the long hair man like he looks like like kyle o'reilly from timu or something say it looks like austin aries dude i thought it was austin aries when he first came out man like wow yeah Man, i would I would prefer freaking Mighty Mouse over this. You know what i mean? Like the, ah what was it? The what was his man that Gravity forgot. The man that Gravity forgot, dude. Yeah.
00:53:56
Speaker
All right, what else we got the mailbag? All right. I think we only got one more question. Let me pull it up. Sorry, I was Googling ah the haircut. notching off kilter, seeing that haircut. Yeah, just... She does completely Yeah. um What is the best sandwich in the history...
00:54:15
Speaker
Of sandwiches. Now, are we including restaurants are we going to straight up sandwich? Like something you go and slap together in the kitchen, dude. So to me, so I'll go ahead and give mine. What is the best sandwich in the history of sandwiches?
00:54:27
Speaker
I'm thinking like any sandwich. Any sandwich you can consume, right? Yeah. To me, the best sandwich in the history of sandwiches is like a straight up like turkey, white bread, cheese, like on a hot summer day with some chips on it and like After you get out of pool.
00:54:40
Speaker
Yeah, like a post-pull Sammy dude, like that hits like nothing else, dude. So to me, like if I'm just going like you know into the road, like last sandwich ever, I'm going to have like a plain white bread sandwich, dude. I'll cheat and offer up two.
00:54:54
Speaker
I think both of these could be made case for that they are absolutely the most perfect food item out there. One is the the simple, humble BLT, and two is the Egg McMuffin from McDonald's.
00:55:07
Speaker
Okay. Yeah, I have two as well. So me and you are both doing the Sheena fence writing. yeah Okay, so I have two and one of them is only available for a certain time of year. So that's what makes it special for me.
00:55:19
Speaker
One is an Italian beef sandwich straight from Chicago. Like that's one of my all time favorite things ever. army Yeah, carmy. is the Any type of variation of it, wherever you get it from, the gobbler every year. Oh, dude, I love ah freaking gobbler sandwich. That sandwich is so good, man. They're putting a Wawa in Bolognese, Kentucky, so we'll have to make a special trip back home. Yes, I haven't had a Wawa gobbler in years, dude.
00:55:42
Speaker
They have it at Firehouse Subs, too. I got it last year. They introduced it last year, and it was really good, so... dude it it just hits man like i i remember like when the wawa gobbler came back and we lived in virginia this was like years ago bro like i mean what was like oh eight you know we would go and get like wawa gobblers and um seth didn't get seth missed the key component because he doesn't get cranberry sauce on his and i'm like dude that is the key component that like ties the entire freaking sandwich together dude like oh it gives very just The cranberry freaking makes it sing, dude. it's like It gives it like the punch that it needs not to just be like a heavy freaking gut bomb. You know what I mean? like ah yeah I have to tell you some of the fattest shit I've heard.
00:56:25
Speaker
I love it. Tell me. tell you guys this Somebody said like the best thing you can ever do is go to either Wawa or wherever you get your gobbler at and then stop by KFC and get a bowl of gravy and dip your gobbler in a bowl of gravy. That sounds good.
00:56:40
Speaker
they you know They might be able to give you a side of gravy at Wawa, dude. But the KFC gravy going to be better, though, dude. Wawa gravy, it's passable. It's not bad on there, but it ain't the same. I would take I'd go hit Popeyes, get the Cajun gravy, dude. Ooh, yeah, gobbler, dude. Yeah. Now we're big back. Now we're big back. and You know what i thought you were going to say? I don't know why, dude. I had this picture in my mind when you said get the gobbler, take the KFC. i thought you were going to say ask him to drop it in the deep fryer.
00:57:06
Speaker
Oh, my God. thought you were going to say get the gobbler, take it to KFC, ask him to drop it in the deep fryer for about three minutes and then eat it. You might be on to something. That doesn't sound bad, dude. A fried gobbler sandwich would be straight fire, dude. Yeah. You don't got to straight up like you know fry it hard, but just drop it in there for about 10 minutes, dude. Cook it a little bit more, dude, then pull it out. 10 minutes?
00:57:32
Speaker
Maybe two minutes. Two minutes. I'm going say that. Drop it in for two minutes. like Drop it in for two minutes. Let that thing drain, dude. Yeah, that thing will be bomb, man. Yeah. We are really big back in here. feel like need to try that now, dude. I feel like I want to deep fry a gobbler and see what that's like now. Yeah, dude. I'm craving a freaking gobbler sandwich now, man. I'm like,
00:57:53
Speaker
have you Have Sheena cook up some, ah get some lard in a bowl and have you cook it up in the kitchen. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. We do a little pan fry on the, ah on the Wawa gobbler, dude. Oh, dude, that sounds so good. does sound so good, man.
00:58:06
Speaker
All right. Good choice. That's a wrap for this episode. Let us know in the mailbag next time, whatever your like craziest, like junk food, stoner food concoction you've made is, and we will, ah we'll read them live on the air.
00:58:18
Speaker
um Sheena has some closing thoughts and we'll get out of here. Um, as always ah ftk ah
