Hello everybody. I'm so excited to have you on the show today. So this is a topic that is near and dear to my heart. I think that anytime we have a personal testimony around something, it's deep. And so this is a topic that God has been working on me for some time now. And so I have to share it. I have to give my testimony on this because I know there are so many people seeking truth.

Truth is something that we are always after, whether we want to believe it or not. And so on my journey, I'm 30 years old. I have, of course, been on this journey of truth. I've been looking for answers, looking for wisdom, looking for signs and wonders and answers and guidance.

When we get on this journey to seek truth, there are so many things that stick out to us nowadays and how we grasp that truth. And so that's why this topic, talking about new age practices, is near and dear to my heart.

And I wanna start off with the why. Why did I decide to talk about new age, to talk about astrologers, to talk about psychics, to talk about zodiac signs and talking to the dead and why this topic? And it's because under the sound of my voice, if you're listening, I don't want you to be led astray.

I want to read you one of my favorite verses that I have been a Christian my whole life. I got saved when I was a very young girl, but I never listened to this verse. I never knew that this verse existed. Obviously when you're

12 years old, you don't know this verse, right? So it wasn't until I came into my later journey as a Christian that I heard this verse and it was a game changer for me on my Christian journey, my relationship with God.

and it's Ephesians 6, 12. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. But I wanna read that first line again. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood,

Now let's just break that down. If we're not wrestling against flesh and blood, which means you are flesh and blood, that's what we are. Who are we fighting against exactly? If we're not fighting against ourselves, if we're not fighting against our brother or sister or against another nation or against each other, then who is the Bible talking about?

And the Bible is talking about spiritual warfare.
Critique of New Age Practices

We are in a spiritual warfare battle and we will be until Jesus comes back. And so if you've never heard this verse, then there's this whole portion of the belief of Christianity that you're really not enlightened on.

And so when I heard this verse, it drastically changed the way that I was able to look at really everything. And so what this meant to me was that instead of me fighting against my husband, flesh and blood, my husband's not the enemy. If you've ever heard the term hate, the sin, love, the sinner, it's this, it's this verse.

And so it gave me this perspective that it's not just us here in the world that we see that there's actually another realm that where things are going on. And that is the spiritual realm, whether you want to believe it or not, it's true.

And there is another realm, a spiritual realm that we are actually fighting against. We are fighting against spiritual beings. And so when you realize that the walk that you're on is not just so and so doesn't like you, or so and so is mean to you, or it's not about that,

It's so much deeper than that. This is a spiritual battle that we are in.

And so that is actually what we're wrestling against. And so I just wanted to set that up before I got into the new age, the tarot, the astrology. Because for many people, these things are nothing but that. They don't mean anything. They don't have, Josie, what's the big deal? What's the issue here? And so once you realize that we are not fighting against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, the principalities, and essentially demons,

then you see that these new age practices are put here by design from a power that is not God. And so I wanna read something to you about new age. And new age, so when I say new age is what I'm talking about, the tarot, the astrology, new age beliefs. There is no real concept of sin, okay? If you're a Christian, you know like sin is missing the mark

when it comes to following Christ, but rather imperfect knowledge.

So essentially, people who believe in new age, they don't admit that they're sin. There's like, oh, there's no such thing as right and wrong. You live the life that you want to live. You do what it is that you want to do. And it's okay if you sin. It's okay if you have sex with your partner before you get married. It's okay if you have an abortion. There is no right and wrong has been totally extinguished.

And so that is why there's such a repellent against Christians, against the Bible, because people don't like to hear that what they're doing is sinful. That's a hard pill to swallow. Just like I had to swallow the pill when I was smoking weed, that that is sinful behavior, because most of us don't have the discipline to live an upright life. We just don't.

And so New Age tells us, oh, it's okay, don't worry about it. It's okay to get crap face drunk. It's okay to get lit. It's okay to do X, Y, Z, but let me tell you guys something. That is deception. You are under deception. And one thing that you need to know is New Age practices were put here to deceive you.

They were not here to guide you. They are not here to make you a better person. They are here to deceive you. Because like I said, going back to Ephesians 6, 12, for we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities. You need to have a deep belief that you are in a spiritual battle. Every single day when you wake up, your children are in a spiritual battle. Your partner is in a spiritual battle.

And so part of my story is that I sought out astrologers. I paid for tarot readings. I paid for this cosmic knowledge, if you will, and I got it. I had somebody read my birth chart. I had someone tell me,

Hey, this is your rising sign. You're rising moon. I'm a Gemini. I'm a Gemini rising. I'm a Scorpio. All of those things. Like I had all of those things written about me and read about me. And this woman told me all kinds of stuff. But here is the thing that in retrospect, when I look back is when I realized that it's not fulfilling.

And that's when I continued to go back. I would get one tarot reading and it would fulfill me for a little bit and then I would go back. And then I would get another tarot reading and then I would go back. And then I would pay for another one and I would go back and I would go back and I would go back because it does not fulfill, because it's not designed to. It is not the power of God. It is not, there's no peace with it.

And so if you know somebody personally who has gotten tarot cards red or their natal chart red, they will probably tell you they have went back on more than one occasion. And that is because it does not fill you up. Proverbs 14, 12 says, there is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end is death.

And that's what's so deceptive about new age practices is it sounds so good. Of course, law of attraction sounds so good. First of all, most of us don't even understand law of attraction. Second of all, it sounds so good that we need to have it. We need to have it. But I'm here to tell you that

It's those ways are full of deception. And so let me read you Colossians 2.8. Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit according to the tradition of man, according to the basic principles of this world, not according to Christ. So the Bible is very clear.

that we will be tempted by cheap philosophies, that we will be tempted by pagan traditions. And I have been tempted by pagan traditions.

It sounded so good, but in the end, it only leads to emptiness. And that's how you know it's not truth.
Dangers of New Age vs. Christian Beliefs

Deuteronomy 18, 19 says, when you come into the land which the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not learn the abominations of those nations. So God is essentially telling us in this verse that when you go into these nations, these pagan nations, do not pick up on their traditions. There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or daughter pass through the fire,

or one who practices witchcraft. You guys, it would blow your mind how much witchcraft is going on if you've ever been to a Taylor Swift concert. Yikes! Get crucified for that one. Or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord,

So the Bible is very, very clear. And you know what? Let's just say, okay, Josie, that's great. I don't believe in the Bible. That's your truth, not mine.

I wanna put this into perspective for you because we do see people, they're on Netflix, the ones who are, you know, they have a Netflix show about how they're medium and how they can talk to the dead and how they can, here's the thing about new age, here's the thing about sorcerers, here's the thing about tarot readers and about astrologers and about mediums. Some of them are fake, they are making millions of dollars and they truly do not have any type of spiritual gift

But here's the scary part, that most people, they don't understand. These people do have spiritual gifts. Some of them truly do. But it's not of God. When somebody says, oh, I can talk to the dead, they're not talking to the actual dead person.

They're talking to what we call familiar spirits. So there are demons, spirits who hang around people who know that person, who know that dead person who knew their habits, who knew their life. And people who are able to talk to the quote unquote dead aren't really talking to the dead, they're talking to demons. But because we're deceived and we don't understand the spiritual realm, we don't understand how things work,

We're so amazed by it and we're just like, wow, this is incredible. Like you can actually, they're not speaking to the dead. You are being deceived and so are they. They really believe they're speaking to the dead. Most of them, some of them probably know that they're speaking to spirits, which is super creepy. There is a spiritual realm.

that we do not need to play with. This is real stuff, you guys. Have you guys ever been in a house where you felt a presence there, right? Like a haunted house, not like the ones that you go to for Halloween where everything's set up. I'm talking about like your great aunt Susie who had that creepy old house that has a lot of really cool nooks and crannies in it, but it's highly, highly haunted. And people say,

Oh, ghosts aren't real. Okay, maybe not, but spirits are. So when you go into a haunted house and you feel that a house that's truly haunted, right? And you feel that uneasy presence, you are submersed in a spiritual realm. That is real. But here's the thing.

It's not, it's not, it's not just, oh, there's good magic and there's bad magic. No, no, there's Jesus Christ. And then there's demons. And anytime we subject ourselves to new age philosophies, and I have done this unknowingly, but the devil does not play fair. He does not give a rip whether you know or not.

You enter in legally to the grounds of the spiritual realm and you give legal access for spirits to come on you. What am I talking about? Have you ever had something, maybe an addiction or maybe a habit that you truly cannot stop doing?

No matter how bad you want to stop, you cannot stop. In your physical strength, you cannot stop. Yeah, sometimes it is an addiction. Sometimes it is your brain has been wired to be dependent on this drug. But do you know that sometimes you are operating under a spirit of addiction? It is not really you making these decisions. this, the authority of something else. And I know this can be like a really scary conversation for a lot of people. This is very deep stuff.

But when you start messing with this stuff, this is called witchcraft. And some people call it witchcraft, the people who don't give a rep, but it has been labeled in sexy terms so that you don't know what you are dabbling in. When I used to read tarot, because I got into it myself, I used to love tarot. I used to love astrology. You guys, I did not know it at the time.

But I was giving the enemy legal access to come into me and I was operating under what we call the occult. The occult is a nasty spirit. Because what you're saying is I am going to allow somebody to read my birth chart, which I have done many times. But what you're also saying, and maybe you don't know it, is I am giving

demonic access to me. And so this is why the Bible says we are not to be conformed to this world but by the renewing of our minds. And this is why I wanted to talk about this because we very very unknowingly can fall under stuff like this without knowing it. I have been deceived

Other people have been deceived. You've probably been deceived by it. And when I stopped doing this stuff and I started seeking Christ, I had so much peace. Peace that passes all understanding.

I'm sorry, but if you need to wake up every single day and check your horoscope, you don't have a piece about it because you are constantly needing affirmation of what your life is like, of what you are going to do with your future or what you like. You don't have peace about it. And that's because it's not attached to peace. It's attached to something else. So if we believe in lightness and darkness, what's the opposite of peace? Confusion.

Like if I'm constantly under a spirit of confusion, I cannot have peace. And that's because we are dabbling in this stuff that does not bring peace. Me getting multiple tarot red and multiple charts red, I'm like, dude, this is like,

When will it end? Like I started getting to the point where I'm like, I'm not even like, what am I doing? I partner with God and create my life. There is no tarot reader astrologer medium that is going to

predict my life. Nobody knows the future. The Bible is very clear on that. And oh, by the way, let's just say just throw out the Bible altogether, right? Let's say somebody does read your future. How big of a ceiling are you allowing them to put on your life? Same with like the Enneagram stuff. I'm like technically an Enneagram 8.

Enneagram eights are like mean. They're like, they're hateful. They are very like outspoken and okay, okay, cool. Let's just say I am an Enneagram eight. When we conform to this stuff, what we're saying is that's my ceiling. I am a hateful person. I am aggressive. Don't mess with me. But what if I wanted to be something else?

And so that's the challenge is when we listen to a medium or a psychic or somebody reading tarot cards and they say these things to us, we believe it. And then what does that do? Well, there can't be another way because that's what that person said. This is deception. The Bible says, I came to give you life and give you life more abundant. That's what Christ said.

life and life more abundantly. We are called to live abundantly. God does not put a ceiling on us. Christ does not put a ceiling on us. These new age traditions do.

And so when I stopped dabbling in this stuff and I started picking up the Bible and going to Proverbs, which is the book of wisdom, that is where I started drawing my wisdom from. You guys, when I was listening to Tarot, we weren't making six figures. I didn't have true wisdom. Oh, but you bet your butt when I put that down,

And I started drawing my strength from God. I started drawing my strength from Christ who is living and alive. And I stopped believing that there was no such thing as sin because that is BS. That is a lie from the enemy. Oh, it's fine. Just go have an abortion. It's fine. Oh, you want to get lit all day? It's fine. If that's your truth. No, we are called to walk the narrow path.

The Bible says wide is the path that many follow. You can take it to the bank. If most people are doing it, it's the wide path. Why? Because it's easy. It's easy to drink wine every night. It's easy to go out and sleep around. It's easy to get lit. It's easy to go aboard a child after you've made a mistake. But would you be willing

to live a disciplined life. Would you be willing to walk the narrow path? Wide is the way that leads to death. Narrow is the path that leads to life. And if we really do believe that there's no such thing as sin, I'm telling you, you're gonna get to the end of your life and you're gonna be massively deceived.

We live in a feel-good culture. Oh, if it feels good, do it. If there's anything about what I'm saying to you right now that's triggering you, that is the Holy Spirit convicting you. That's the Holy Spirit. That is the way the Holy Spirit works. The Holy

Spirit speaks to us and one of those ways is through conviction. What does that look like? When I was smoking weed, I never had a piece about it. I never had a piece about smoking weed and that was because I was stuck in conviction. The Holy Spirit was constantly convicting me on smoking weed and so

That is exactly what is happening right now when you're listening to what I'm saying. Oh, that's bull crap. This is the Holy Spirit working through you. This is how the Holy Spirit keeps us on the narrow path. The Holy Spirit has asked me to do things I did not want to do. I did not want to have my baby. I wanted to have an abortion, but the Holy Spirit uses precious woman to look at me and say, don't do that.

The Holy Spirit asked me to stop smoking weed and I did not want to give it up. But you know what? That is the path that leads to death. And it's not because it's right and because it's wrong. It's because we are called to live a blameless life. And everything New Age teaches is feel good. Do what you want to do. Live your truth. And I fell into that lie.

And I've never been more confused than I was when I was living under that philosophy. And so many people, like I said at the beginning, are seeking truth. If you're seeking truth, open up the Bible and go to the book of Proverbs. Don't read anything else. Just go read the book of Proverbs. That is the ultimate guide to wisdom.

And this is the thing how we're talking about there's two realms, the demonic and God. When you tap into the word, when you are operating under the authority of the Holy Spirit, you are tapping into that quote unquote cosmic energy, which is so a new age term, but I'm just going to use layman's terms for people who don't understand what I'm saying.

That's the spirit you're operating under. It's not just about reading a book and, okay, I'm just going to read a book because this is what I'm supposed to do. No, no. Think about if you were to go to a psychic and you were to be able to tap into their spirit, their spiritual giftings.

That is what happens when you open up the Word. You are tapping in to God's giftings. You are tapping in to the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit leads you to more and more and more revelation. Psalm 119.105

And the more money you make and the more businesses you start, you are going to need wisdom. And I'm gonna tell you right now that does not come from tarot cards. There have been things that have happened in our business. And we're talking six figures a month. We're talking lots of money.

Like if you know the old me, you guys, I used to be on drugs seven days a week. Like the people who used to know me back then, they probably think I'm a goody too. She's, oh, we know you used to be doing cocaine. You used to be doing, dude, I'm a new creation.

I am new. I do not do that anymore. And it is not because I think I'm better than it is not because I'm trying to be a goody two shoes. It is because I am so sold out for Christ because he has truly given me a life that I could have never created on my own wisdom. Getting my astrology chart read and not one time did any of them say hey Are you caught up in a cycle of addiction because that is a life of bondage that is not a life of freedom But you know what when I came into relationship with Christ he was so gentle with me Every single day he would say my love It's not that smoking weed is wrong

It's that there is something here that masters you. This is your master. Do you want to have a master? Do you want to have a vape in your hand all the freaking time and be a slave to this thing? How many people in this generation do you see that are carrying around a vape?

They got a cell phone in one hand and they got a vape in the other because they are a slave to it. And I got so caught up in this, no, smoking weed isn't wrong. It's legal. It's deceptive. Of course it's legal, but just because something's legal doesn't mean it's morally right.

I got to this point where I did not even care about right and wrong. And God saw that I was so caught up in right and wrong. Oh, well, if the other Christians are drinking wine and that's okay, why can't I smoke weed? We're both not sober minded. The Bible says to be sober minded, but they're drinking wine. How is it any different? Like I was so caught up in that. But the Lord is so beautiful. He spoke to me and said, you are, you're being mastered by something.

and I cannot elevate you until you let this thing go. I cannot elevate you until you stop allowing this thing to master you. It's not about right and wrong. It's about you are stuck in bondage. And let me tell you guys, New Age philosophies did not set me free. New Age philosophies did not set me free.

Christ came in and wipes my appetite for marijuana and even alcohol. Like me and my husband, like we don't even really drink like that. Like every now and again, we'll have like a little glass of champagne. If you do that's fine, go do your thing. But my appetite has been wiped clean. Tell me if you are listening, how many of you have a vape, smoke cigarettes, smoke marijuana, drink every single night or every single weekend and can honestly say,

that your appetite has been wiped clean. And it's been wiped clean because it wasn't done by me. I cannot wipe my appetite for marijuana away. That is only something God can do. That is not something that I can do on my own strength. And it has been wiped clean.

So two questions that I'll leave you with and then we'll wrap up the episode. Do we save ourselves? So these are two questions, new age comparing to Christianity, because they can feel very similar. New age says, we save ourselves. Christianity says, you're already saved. Which one feels like more work?

I need to save myself, and I need to invest into my mindset until I'm saved, and I need to do good, and I need to save myself. Or, oh, you're actually already saved. Don't you know, my love, you're already saved. New Age says, go save yourself. Self, self, self, self, self. New Age is all about self.

Christianity is all about Christ. And tell me how many of you have tried in your own strength to save your marriage? How many of you have tried in your own strength to save your finances? Tell me how many of you in your own strength have tried to save your children from whatever it is that they're going through? I cannot in my own strength.

So I finally gave up and I had to give it to God because I cannot do it in my own strength. Because we're not meant to do it in our own strength. But New Age will have you believing that you are the God. No, you need to do all that. There's already been one that has been sent before you that has taken care of that. And then this is a huge one that I see, but the question is,

New Age says there's no such thing as sin. Christianity says there is a such thing as sin. And that's why we see such an attack on morality, on truth nowadays. Oh, if you want to go change your gender, it's fine. It's fine. Everything's fine with that. It's not fine.

It's not fine. And if it were fine, would we really have to put up that big of an argument for it? Like, if there really were more than two genders, would it really be such of an argument? No, it's a huge issue because it's not true. The truth is under attack. Sin is real. But new age philosophies will have you believing that it does not exist.

You are allowed to seek all of the pleasures of this earth, but let me ask you, how many of you seek the pleasures of this earth and have no peace and have no joy? All you have is a good time. Tell me, what do you have to show for it? So those are two questions. Number one,

And I know right now the Holy Spirit is speaking to people and you're either super triggered or you're super curious and those are both great. And if you want to have an abundant life, if you are currently not living an abundant life, and I am not just talking about finances, I'm talking about an emotionally abundant, a spiritually abundant,
