Sounders' First Home Loss of 2026

00:00:45
Speaker
Good evening, everybody, and welcome to your post-match live for Match Day 14 in Major League Soccer. The Seattle Sounders are undefeated at home. No more. They just took a 2-0 L to the l LA Galaxy. It was not good. We're going to be coping. We're going to be rationalizing. I'm at the Sounder at Heart Studio in the ID. We'll be playing the presser in just a second here. It looks like Schmetz is about to get going, so we'll hear what he has to say about the first home L of the 2026 season. You know, we've been spoiled here.
00:01:17
Speaker
We've been spoiled here at Lobbing Scorchers. This is only our second L show of the season, but this was an emphatic L. It was a pretty emphatic L, and it was a home L, which, as we talked about in recent weeks, we have not experienced that since the Club World Cup against PSG Lumen Field. We were talking about It it was a fortress again.
00:01:35
Speaker
You can't come in here and get a win against the Seattle Sounders. You definitely can't can't come in here and get a clean sheet, but ah that's exactly what happened. So... We're going to be breaking it down.
00:01:46
Speaker
We're firing the presser up in a minute, and then I'll be taking your calls so we can cope and rationalize together.

Lineup Rotation and Game Impact

00:01:52
Speaker
But I guess as we wait for this press conference to get started, I can just give my initial thoughts on the match as I usually do. And ah I guess, you know, we can start we can start with the lineup. Let's talk about the lineup because there was a lot of rotation going on tonight. So I think it is worth...
00:02:13
Speaker
at least talking about the impact of said rotation in the fixture congestion in general, ah But I don't really think that's what led to this result tonight. I'll say that up front. I don't think that it can be attributed to that.
00:02:27
Speaker
But let's just go through how they lined it up tonight. I mean, you got you got some different stuff going on. You got Snyder Burnell and Hassani Dotson in the double pivot. King Pete, Pete Kingston drew the start tonight at right back. Paul Areola drew the start. And then you had on the i left mid. And then you had Moose.
00:02:46
Speaker
up top and I feel like this game kind of just had an ominous start from the beginning when ah Moose had to sub off like what five minutes into the game he gets hit in the face it looks to me like he might have lost a tooth I don't know if that's actually what happened but it looked like he was spitting out some blood it looked like Moose might be down a tooth so uh That is both unfortunate for Moose and it was unfortunate for the Seattle Sounders ah for their starting striker to go out five minutes into the game.

Moose's Injury and Team Dynamics

00:03:19
Speaker
And, you know, unfortunate for Moose, too. You hope he's all right. But also, we've been talking about how this number nine platoon had kind of been getting going, and Moose was part of that. He scored the goal, the equalizer against San Diego FC.
00:03:31
Speaker
So to lose him five minutes into the game, it certainly wasn't ideal. And I feel like, I don't know, to me, it looked like the offense never really... Never really got on track tonight at all. Never really bounced back after the whole Moose subbing out in the delay. this is We've talked a lot about XG Merchanting on this show in recent weeks.
00:03:51
Speaker
I don't think that's what happened tonight either. i don't. i I don't think that Seattle had the better chances than the LA galaxy. I don't think Seattle had very many good chances at all in this game that I remember other than there was the one ah Paul Areola header that looked like he might get to it. That was probably the closest Seattle got to scoring in this game. So I think that's the first place my mind goes is if we're talking blame pie, you know, offense versus defense,
00:04:21
Speaker
Well, let's let's talk about the defense.

Defensive Errors and Strategy Issues

00:04:24
Speaker
Let's talk about the defense first, because my my My main thing going into this game was the main thing I was looking for was, all right, the number one first thing that you have to do that I want to see in this game is to not pass the ball directly to the other team in front of your own goal. They have conceded two goals like that in the last couple of games where they gave the other team the ball right in front of their own net and conceded a goal off that. So don't do that. That was my number one ask for the first, you know,
00:05:00
Speaker
10 to 20 minutes of the game. And I guess to be fair, they didn't do that. They didn't pass it to the guy right in front of the goal.
00:05:11
Speaker
Uh, but they did concede a really bad goal really early in the game. And I think that's the thing about this defense right now. You know, you, you've numerically have not conceded a lot of goals in these last few games, but, uh,
00:05:26
Speaker
the timing of them having it ah falling behind one zero in all these scenarios. I know the SKC one was an equalizer, but these last two scenarios, you're putting yourself behind the eight ball by conceding the first goal really early in the first half. And then you're chasing the game and whatever game plan you might've had coming into the game is no longer really relevant. Once you're chasing the game, at that point, you just have to do everything you can to try and get the equalizer.
00:05:52
Speaker
So, I think for this defense right now, like this trend of conceding the first goal early in the match, that's not that that you're not going to take a lot of results like that.
00:06:07
Speaker
So that's what I'll say about the defense. Like they need to get that straightened out. There's no question about it, but
00:06:18
Speaker
the thing I'll say about the offense is that when your defense does give up the first goal of the game and you are chasing the game, you should be able to still take a result in a game where you give up the first goal to the 2026 LA galaxy at home. In fact, when Gabriel Peck scored that goal, I was, I was feeling okay about this team's chances of still not just taking a result in this game, but winning this game, because you do have a lot of time left.
00:06:43
Speaker
So, was the first place my mind went we got noah here noah you want to hop on the panel real quick and uh tap in what do we have here this is a nondescript beer i believe from project nine i don't know what it tastes like i don't know what it is but shout out to project nine for supplying us with it uh you can make sure you have don't know when the princess is going to go i'll keep an eye out on that i'll an eye out How you feeling Noah first home L of the season first that cheers. First L it first L since the RSL game period, I guess and like ah the Tigris game, but okay.
00:07:20
Speaker
First home L of the season and first L since the ah RSL game. Uh, Third L of the season across all competitions if you're counting counting the Tigris one in CCC. So I guess on one level, you know, that's not a lot of L's. But what did you think of this L? abysmal is bad This game was abysmal. This game was not fun to watch. It wasn't fun. Like, you know, there's some L's where you're like, all right, it was at least entertaining. I showed up, like I watched a team that's better than you. Now, granted, the Galaxy are hot right now.
00:07:50
Speaker
Like, not really. They just lost a sporting KC, bro. I was trying to cope a little bit. no and I mean, like, no, they're they're not. they're not as They're not as horrendously bad as they were last year. they They're a little bit better, but, like, just disgusting, man. Like, I'm just, I am genuinely

Performance Challenges and Fatigue

00:08:08
Speaker
appalled by that performance. I'm genuinely, listen, I get it. You have you have a midweek match, and you go all out to beat the number one team in the league, but it's like. And you do.
00:08:19
Speaker
And, you know, the rotation that you make, it doesn't scare me too much, but. I mean, that like that defensive breakdown on that goal, that can't happen. that's like That is an automatic goal. Marco Reus, now listen. He hit a dime. Marco Reus hit a beautiful dime, but the midfield like the defensive midfield breakdown yeah was a huge problem. Hassani Dotson, I need to rewatch that play, but the double pivot of Hassani Dotson and Snyder Brunel, you said to me, you said to me, said, ah.
00:08:49
Speaker
In the press box, you're like, ah. and i'm ah i'm I'm just hesitant on ah how those skill sets complement each other, guess. I guess Hassani does, in theory, bring more of that sort of hard-nosed defensive presence. But I think just in general, that might be an issue is like kind of maybe not enough bite, not enough physicality in midfield. ah And i don't know if that's what happened on that play, but I think in general, when you're getting run on midfield a little bit,
00:09:20
Speaker
That's probably a bit of a reason why. So, I mean, I think, you know, that came into effect on that play. Also, I mean, this team looks very tired to me. That's that's exactly, that is exactly what I was going to say. It was like, the biggest thing to me was Jordan,
00:09:37
Speaker
I haven't seen Jordan lay out three times for a slide. It looked like a tired Jordan Morris, especially that second half. It looked like a tired Kalani Kosarianzi who normally has just an insane engine. Paul Rothrock looks tired. It's a club that like this was always i I don't remember who said it, but this this was a trap game. And man, did the Sounders get absolutely trapped? It was watch You know, that might have been coming eventually. i feel like me to me watching the game tonight, i was just thinking like, man, just get this team to the world cup break. Yeah, everyone ever just get to the world cup break. Everyone is shocked. Shields probably chalk. Just get to the break. Recalibrate. You're in, you're in good position on the table still for playoffs and all that. Even if the shield is chalked. So, ah
00:10:26
Speaker
if you take If you take a bad L here, that's that's not good. That's not ideal. right But it doesn't have to be the end of the world. You just got to get to the end ah to the World Cup break, recalibrate, and then get back after it. that's sort of That's how I feel after watching that game. I agree. i think it's a situation where...

Was This the Worst Performance?

00:10:46
Speaker
This is the worst loss of the season. Oh, by by is far. this There's only game two. This one feels... It doesn't feel like the worst, but I think it was the worst performance by the Sounders team. Like, that Tigres loss felt worse at Tigres. There's definitely more stakes on that. But...
00:11:01
Speaker
this was by far the worst in terms of all factors just just brutal i mean and in here's here's always how you know it was extra bad was when you go to the game and you're like okay i gotta think about this in entertainment value sense right i mean give me a fucking refund give me a fucking refund man like that was just awful awful awful awful awful awful it definitely it definitely wasn't good ah I mean, how are you feeling in the in terms of the bigger picture, though? Because that's, I think, something worth considering, at least. oh I mean, oh got Logan. Hold on. i gotta I'll let him in.
00:11:43
Speaker
You keep cooking. He's letting you in. ah
00:11:56
Speaker
Sorry, chat. My computer's freezing.
00:12:01
Speaker
When I think about this game in the bigger picture, like I said, it doesn't have to be the end of the world. You can bounce back from this. But I do think that another unfortunate thing about what's gone on the last few weeks is that the talk of the supporter shield has taken a hit. And in scenarios where...
00:12:24
Speaker
It didn't really need to like these teams that you have dropped points against sporting Kansas City, San Diego FC LA Galaxy. It's not exactly a murderer's row. Those are teams that if this team is as good as we think and hope it could be.
00:12:42
Speaker
You shouldn't be dropping points in those games. You definitely shouldn't be taking an L like that. Against this Galaxy team who we talked about before the game too. Like it's yes. Seattle was tired. And I think that is totally fair to point out. Yeah. They're, they were not rotated and they've been playing just as many games. They theoretically should have been just as tired straight. And he's 43 years old. So it's like, they were tired too, I guess. Like the, the tired thing.
00:13:07
Speaker
They wanted this game more. Yeah, like hands down, they wanted this game more. Like, I think that's just the matter of fact is like this was a game the Sounders were trying to get out of. And this was a game where the sound where the Galaxy are like, we have to make up ground like we have to make up ground. Yeah. And honestly, you know what? The presser hasn't pulled up yet and maybe we missed it. I don't know. We're in there.
00:13:28
Speaker
It's either that or Brian Schmitzer is absolutely demolishing these guys in the locker room right now. We talked about a couple weeks ago or after the San Diego game how much he hates not giving the the fans at Lumen a show, and that was not really ah that was not a show. No, it was not. it was a It was an unenjoyable show, but it wasn't the type of show that Schmetz likes to see at Lumen Field.
00:13:51
Speaker
so Did we talk about the Toothless Moose list? I mentioned it a little bit, but i just what do you think? Okay, I didn't like fully... I like kind of saw it happen. I think Logan has a video of it, so we'll have to review that footage. But was there not even a card issued on that? like What was the situation there?
00:14:10
Speaker
to me To me, it didn't look like... a It was just a, you know, I'm to punch a dude's tooth out real quick. Well, so, okay, this is way i remember. I have to watch the replay again, but to me... Maybe Shaq can help us. To me, it looked like they were both going up for the ball, and it was it wasn't like one person initiated the contact more than the other. Like, they kind of just ran into each other, and Moose took a shot to the face and might have lost it tooth, but...
00:14:39
Speaker
Like, do you, would you agree that true Macedonian? Exactly. He's going to have the hockey player look, but would you agree that like up until that point, like honestly, right before that happened, King Pete played in moose on ah what a, dime it was a great dime and it was a really good chance. And honestly, at that point in the game, I was like, all right, i mean, this going about how i hoped and thought that it might, I feel partially responsible for this because I went on a galaxy podcast on a,
00:15:05
Speaker
on Thursday night, Lacuna Galaxiana. And, ah you know, they were ah basically chalking this up as an L for the Galaxy already. And, you know, to be fair, I did say, like, look, ah I'm more aware than anybody that you can think that you have a quality advantage and a talent advantage and have it at home in MLS. and then and once the game starts, you're fighting for your life.
00:15:27
Speaker
against Harbor Miller or, you know, whoever it might be. yeah So I did caveat it, but I, but like we lost the Harbor Miller. I was even to a 1960s port.
00:15:39
Speaker
We lost to, we lost to a dude who like, we lost to a like Utah named guy. Like some, some like Mormon. I don't i honestly utah i don't know if Harbor, I'm naming my son Harbor Miller.
00:15:54
Speaker
yeah Okay. All right. we Add him on to the presser action. Logan, add him on to the stage. Add him to the stage, Logan. We'll start with Jeremiah Ocean, followed by Jada Evans. Tim has the... We can hear
00:16:06
Speaker
That's a lot of pen clicks. It seemed like you guys had a hard time just sort of creating chances the way that you have been the last, you know, really the last four or five games. What did you say is the the key to that?
00:16:19
Speaker
Give the Galaxy some credit.
00:16:22
Speaker
I mean, they they pretty much drew that up how they wanted. Take some sting out of the game, find some possession. They've got three quality guys up front. They don't one mistake. They made us pay.
00:16:36
Speaker
ah you know I'm sure Greg's extremely happy, should be. It's a big win for them. ah you know the the It's a bummer about Musoski.
00:16:52
Speaker
you know They're checking him for concussion and he lost a tooth. um It was a pretty violent challenge, but he has at he is at he's in on goal. Markowski is like 16 yards out of the box and he can't get it between his legs or he can't find the back of the net. It's one nothing changes the game. We talked about scoring the first goal against this team.
00:17:13
Speaker
Maybe, you know, they're thinking about their flight back to LA. Instead, they get the first goal. They're all a sudden full of confidence. And I just don't think, Jeremiah, we found our rhythm after that.
00:17:29
Speaker
And that's on me because, you know, the starting group that I put out there with fresh legs, the intention of fresh legs and faith in the squad, did that upset the rhythm?
00:17:43
Speaker
Maybe. you know, bringing Albert on when he wasn't quite ready to go. ah you know, Jordan was doing really good on the right. So when I moved Jesus up there to be kind of a false nine, I wanted Jordan to stay there because I think that could be his position for the future. I'm trying to find, you know, I'm fine trying to find some consistency.
00:18:08
Speaker
But obviously the changes I made didn't work. And so I got to own that. And we lost and deservedly in the galaxy, you know, they deserved winners.
00:18:22
Speaker
to Go ahead. To kind of rewind just a little bit, Alex was out with a hamstring injury. He played the full game the other night. would When did that, is is this something that's that happened? It came after the game. They did an MRI after the game. He had some tightness and the MRI shows that has a slight muscle strain in his hamstring.
00:18:44
Speaker
be out for a minute then or liza Well, the break yeah again, he's going to be listed as questionable for the LAFC game. Yes. And then you kind of a little bit alluded to this, but as far as the the loss goes, um you know, you talked about, you know, having the streak and now that it does end, like, what was the response from the team?

Coach Schmetzer's Reflections

00:19:07
Speaker
Well, I didn't want the streak to end tonight, Jada. I know i so I've sat up here and talked about it and it's kind of like I was waiting for the shoe to drop, but tonight wasn't the night that that should have happened. We didn't play up to our standards again. You know, did I make too many changes? Should I have you know started the same group and then made changes as the game unfolded? Those will be the reflections that I take.
00:19:33
Speaker
And you know we'll see if i can I can come up with a good lineup for LAFC. Miles, go ahead. Brian, it is your job to put the players in the best position you think they are. But is there something to be said in terms of the players themselves, the effort, and then kind of winning the duels and those kind of things? was that lacking a little bit today?
00:19:55
Speaker
Have you seen the stats? Because duels are my favorite stats and I haven't looked at the stats yet because I'm not in the right mood. But that's what I said into the locker room. I felt like the Galaxy won more duels and we did.
00:20:11
Speaker
I'll be keen to see what what how that bears out. You know, they were picking up second balls and, you know, look, they've been on the road for a week. know, it looked like in some moments they had fresher legs.
00:20:24
Speaker
our team, our team kind of struggles sometimes when, you know, we run up against teams where the game kind of goes like this. We're a little rushed.
00:20:37
Speaker
We don't establish possession. We lose the ball, we defend. And then we win the ball back Somebody has a sloppy touch, we gotta chase the ball again. then we go again, we win it again, again, we're rushed or somebody you know misses a pass or some technical breakdown or you know we're not in a good possession shape with our team so we can't counter press, which is what I think a lot of happened times happened tonight.
00:21:08
Speaker
And that gave the galaxy life. it We were allowed them to breathe and we had to chase the game. And so, you know, I think that had something to do with them looking a little fresher than All we'll stay this side of the room and then come around to Nico next. Go ahead. Coach, first start tonight for Peter Kingston. How did you want him to slot in tactically and how do you think he filled that role?
00:21:31
Speaker
He did okay, but I think after the first goal, he got a little, you got a little gun shy because Paintsill was on that side. Look, that's ah that is a tough, tough, tough, you know, matchup for any player.
00:21:45
Speaker
Paintsville's extremely good. So I think the kid did well. But in the last couple of games, I think Kalani has been a little more You know, aggressive and he gets up and down the field a little bit more you know showed that when he came on in the second half.
00:22:01
Speaker
But Peter is a game kid we love them there's a lot of good starting points for the kids so you know overall i'll watch the film for the tactical view, but you know the kid puts everything into the game. Nico.
00:22:16
Speaker
Yes, coach, in terms of more of some of those players and the substitutions that you brought in, I know you mentioned it a little bit, but specifically...
00:22:45
Speaker
break he's got a busy summer hopefully knock on wood you know he he was complaining of some tightness in areas ah and it's three games in a week sometimes it's easier for you know jackson and new who guys on the back line center backs can usually play three games in a week um And so that was my decision there with Christian. I knew he was going to come into the game.
00:23:10
Speaker
I didn't think he was going to come into the game under those circumstances, but he was always going to feature same with Albert. I had some guaranteed subs in my head. Uh, and then the kid, you know, Seba, you can see the little starting points. He looks bright. He looks fresh. He can, he's got good technical ability. i He's done well for Defiant, so yes again, a tough way for the kid to know i debut, issue of but he's a talented kid. All right, we'll go to Callahan here, and then we'll take a couple off. So seems from the press box that the team was struggling dealing with press from LA Galaxy and the physicality. What was what did you see from your perspective, and what did you say to them at halftime as far as you know getting in getting the balls behind in this way?
00:23:58
Speaker
Well, I'm not so sure that we, you know, were stymied by their high press, I thought we could play through them, the attacking flow of the game was a little dysfunctional again due to the changes that I made, maybe I made one too many to too many.
00:24:17
Speaker
You know, I think that took a little bit of time for that particular group of players to adjust. Then you magnify that by taking a goal early. Then they're all kind of, you know, Peter, those guys, they get a little rattled a little bit. So that's on me.
00:24:33
Speaker
and then as far as the physical nature of the game, you know, again, I'll go back to the duels. This team has consistently out-dueled oppositions at home and on the road.
00:24:46
Speaker
We never quit all of those sort of things, tough kids, all the things I say, that's that group. But again, we're we're not always gonna be perfect.
00:24:59
Speaker
And again, I'll give credit to the galaxy. All right, Felipe, we're goingnna go to you on Zoom first. Go ahead, please. Thank you Alex. Coach Brian, you just said that you you have faith on your starting lineup, and which is understandable and also that you try to bring fresh legs with the substitutions.
00:25:21
Speaker
I would like to know what you think about Jordan Morris performance at the end or the end of the game?
00:25:29
Speaker
Well, Jordan's a super talented player and he's our leading goal scorer. I think Jordan has a lot of natural talent. But, you know, there were some plays that I thought he could have done better.
00:25:44
Speaker
There were some plays that I thought, you know, Albert could have done better. i think there were some plays that Paul Rothrock could have been a little bit cleaner on. You know, i thought I have to call out Nuhu. I thought he had an exceptionally good game. I thought Jackson was okay.
00:25:58
Speaker
but there were too many guys that maybe didn't play up to their potential tonight for different reasons. So, you know, I'll watch the tape, Felipe, and we will show the tape to the team and make sure we try and prepare for LAFC.
00:26:16
Speaker
All right, George, ask your question, please. ah Coach, i want you to know if you take any positives from this game.

Fanatics Suite Merchandise Discussion

00:26:23
Speaker
And just to mention a player that hasn't been mentioned before, I thought Paul Arriola had a really good game, had a couple of chances on goal.
00:26:31
Speaker
Paul was fine. He was good. He's a veteran player. He understood what we wanted to get out of him. you know Again, the substitution there with Paul was just to try and change the momentum of the game.
00:26:44
Speaker
ah But you know no there's no, there's no positives here. Follow us in the room. Great. Locker room's open. Thank you all. Thanks, everybody.
00:26:59
Speaker
There you have it from a somber of Brian Schmetzer after the match. Obviously not happy with the performance or result. And, you know, I thought the most newsworthy part of that press conference was the injury update on Alex Roldan. I was not aware of that. Apparently he has a tweaked hamstring, which awesome. Fantastic. Another tweet. ta

It's not ideal to have the starting right back who has also been the de facto starting center back because all the starting center backs are hurt now also get hurt.
00:27:51
Speaker
ah But, you know, I guess KKR, he's going to have to keep stepping up. Hopefully, I'm ours back soon and hopefully Alex's situation. is not overly serious, but that's just, you know, that's just kind of another thing that makes me feel like, please God, just, just get me to the world cup break.
00:28:11
Speaker
Just get me to the world cup break. That's where I'm at right now. All right. I'm going to drop this call link in the chat. Let's get these rolling. And then hopefully we never have to think about or talk about this game again, but
00:28:26
Speaker
drop dropping that link in the chat right now.
00:28:30
Speaker
Let's get it going. kenny is ah Kenny is drowning in New Who stock. Shouted out New Who for having a ah great game in a game where not a lot of people had great games. So we got the EBF girls here.
00:28:47
Speaker
They're influencers. What's up? Hello. Hello. on the show what's that's mine fanatics in an influencer suite um had the least followers by many thousands many with in there and but we talked nice
00:29:14
Speaker
bad um but i guess everybody's been wanting a haul haven't they been asking and waiting for a haul I've been asking and waiting for the hall. we've had some We've had some really great internet so far. at the Yeah, it's good. Good good pixels.
00:29:31
Speaker
Careful. Right. Okay. Okay. right Fanatics Influencer Suite Hall. yeah What do we got here? Okay. So first of all, we had some home team for us that we could take home.
00:29:47
Speaker
Right? Home team. Yeah. We got... Jay and I got matching shirts. We got hats. Oh, it's the home team merch. That is cool. Yeah, so we got some merch that was left over cool hats. That one's for me, yeah. Because two of them get another hat.
00:30:04
Speaker
Free ponchos just in case it started raining. It did not. But now we have them for next game. All righty. Oh, that's another shirt. Same thing. Just little match here.
00:30:16
Speaker
Yeah, it's Jay's job to catch it all. we got some summer scarves too i think that they are i couple
00:30:42
Speaker
Football, football, football, football soccer is when it says we're back. And describe it for the people who are listening. Oh, yes. this We've got a light summer scarf here. Blue and green, I believe it is both Seattle Sounders and World Cup themed. And it does say football, football, football soccer across the bottom. And that is what i And there's two of that. And there's two. One for me and one for two, of course. And then they did give us another scarf. It is green and blue. Of course. Yep.
00:31:10
Speaker
The scarf game is kind of incredible. Triple scarf. And just when you thought the hats were done, boom they're not. And Sammy Sounder did come pay us a visit. Sammy Sounder took the worst photo of me that has ever been taken. Sammy Sounder took Jaya's phone, took lots of selfies, everyone took some pictures of Jaya that are crazy. Sammy Sounder stalked down. yeah and You'll see those photos of Jaya.
00:31:38
Speaker
um Chat wants to know who had the ex-dog tonight. o Oh, I'm going to give that. Sorry, there's been three home games in a week. I don't have much of a voice, but I'm going to give that to Masofsky simply for the teeth. He got his tooth straight up knocked out. and Like Schmetz confirmed, by the way, I thought that I thought that I saw him like spitting up a tooth and I was like, oh, that's not good. But then I wasn't sure, you know, if it actually was him spitting out a tooth. But then Schmetz just said he lost a tooth, which that had to be so painful. Oh, my god Yeah, I feel like ah that will... yeah that'll that'll I've never had one knocked clean out like that. but Yeah, lost tooth automatic on the X-Doc. Automatically at the top.
00:32:22
Speaker
I thought...
00:32:26
Speaker
it was Okay, so it was hard for us to see exactly what was happening considering we were directly... Yeah, we were thinking you guys had a not great view. It was it was awesome. like It was super cool, but like ah watching soccer was that perspective i think he knew wasn't the best. good Is that that true? Yeah, that was true. Is that true, guys? I don't know. That was true. Back her up, back her up. um Schmetz specifically shouted out New Who, so that's ah that's a good shout.
00:32:54
Speaker
Yeah. um yeah i think that's that's our top of our pyramid we'll do a video soon and you'll see the full hell yeah i can't wait to see the influencer suite video Oh, we have a couple more things that we were gifted. Unfortunately, there was a mix-up that we were ef girl instead of EBF girls. thought i was just So i they did think it was just me. And I had requested. my house They asked for jersey size and name and number. And I think everybody there gave them their like Instagram handle or like their name yeah and <unk> their favorite number.
00:33:37
Speaker
except for us and i don't know how well i'm going be able to show this but do have there you can see it good yeah yeah i do have a closer rianzi jersey on now gifted by fanatics thank you so much i requested a broth rock one and we'll see i think we'll see if i get it but i i was like i'm why would i ask for my own name is the sounder Right? And that leads into the next gift is they gave us a hoodie. How much stuff did we use? So much stuff. I mean, we were wrong. Do you want to wear the Kosarianzi Yeah. So this is a, let me show off real quick. An embroidered
00:34:15
Speaker
really nice really nice hoodie then um Noah pointed out to me that it does have embroidered Costa Rienzi 85 on the pocket so my bad guess I'm just full-on Kalani super fan now which is not news to anybody I don't think so yeah they kind of had that accurate there you go ah you'' put it on i'll model it yeah I'm wondering if this is means I'll be getting a Rothrock embroidered jersey I'm not sure that's gonna be worth money I do it will be That thing is sick. That's got like a kind of arena football vibe with the letters. It's nice and cropped.
00:34:51
Speaker
It's good. Yeah. yeah It's very stylish. Fabulous. So yeah, we got lots of swag. I got, oh I feel like I have things in my pockets.
00:35:04
Speaker
had a sticker. Sorry. There was free drink. There's free food. many drinks? What'd you eat? um I ate a taco and I ate churros and then we got some drinks as well. That was nice.
00:35:18
Speaker
I got a Sammy Sounder sticker and I put it in my back pocket I think I lost it. And it was probably the mascot who stole it from me. Could have been. But I don't know. There's a lot in my lap so it could be. Maybe one day Lobbing Scorchers gets into the influencer suite. Yeah, they were banned. Yeah, we're banned. Literally banned. and Today is not that day. were going to throw a fit and say, there are managers, you have to let them in. but It's pretty high security there. There must have been a lot of doors you guys had to get. i don't you know i now This is ah cool stuff, but I don't i don't need an influencer suite necessarily. was going say, LOL, you mentioned interpreting the influencer
00:35:52
Speaker
It's only one-of-one KAR move, which is actually accurate. Thank you so much. help I wish I could. I wish I had mine like here, but I did do the same thing with Rothrock because I was like a free jersey. Yes, I want a Rothrock one because don't have one yet. We're supposed to be promoting EBF girls, but we're just too two you' too super fans. and say You were like, maybe we should do EBF girls. And I was like, I'm really trying to get a Rothrock jersey for free. So here we are um So, yeah, that's our haul.
00:36:22
Speaker
pretty good I'll let you all know if I get mine later do you mind if I just throw this over your yeah i can grab all of it yeah is that all of it um oh we were vlogging when Mussofsky got a tooth knocked out and I felt bad because we did not realize the the the the gravity of the situation until we saw the GoFundMe for Did you see the tooth at all? The girl next to us did. I was... Yeah. and she was like, oh my God, was that his tooth? And we were like, I don't know. like She went, did they wear mouth guards? Because I think his mouth guard just came flying out. And then I was like, aha, that's a tooth. She did figure out what happened long before we did. She she knew what was going on. with it Yep. Bad L, bad game. But, ah you know, we got the moose tooth incident to look back on, I guess. So at least that's something kind of memorable. going to be...
00:37:17
Speaker
he must man like He must have got hit just... It was right in front of us, though. It looked very bad. How does that happen unless you like get punched? I saw they smashed sides of faces, which I don't know if that's... He was like sandwiched, wasn't he?
00:37:34
Speaker
Maybe. i I just watched the footage. He's... yeah was a news for Jaw into forehead. So according to Noah, we have jaw to forehead contact ah with Danny Musavsky. That is what resulted in the tooth getting knocked out.
00:37:50
Speaker
ah So... right in front of our eyes. And I believe you'll see in the vlog me go, hey, really loud. Yeah. Right as it happens. Well, we were debating, and like, you know, should that be a foul? Should that be a penalty? Honestly, I saw the replay, like, once or twice. And it it just, it looks like...
00:38:08
Speaker
it looked like two guys making kind of the same jump and just running into each other. So I didn't, the the no call, I wasn't aggrieved by, but sometimes things maybe I'll watch the replay again. yeah ah Get ready. Something wonderful. Our video guy has footage of the tooth. Apparently anding now he's rendering now.
00:38:31
Speaker
Follow Lobbingscors on Instagram. It'll be up there in just just a few minutes. like ah The amount of time you guys turn out content is something I've realized today. It's like insane. You'll take a video of us and boom, it's posted. So shout out to you guys. Yeah, it's because he's a demon. yeah It's crazy. So appreciate that.
00:38:52
Speaker
Thanks for having us on. Yeah, thank you for stopping by and showing us the merch. Shout out to the influencer suite. Shout out fanatics, I guess. fanatic Vlog coming soon. on the on the back here You can also keep them.
00:39:08
Speaker
No, go ahead. I have like a lot of scarves. Everyone follow the EBF girls on ah all platforms. All right, let's get these. Let's get these calls actually going. Caleb, I see you in the queue. Sorry, man. Thanks for waiting. ah I'm going to drop the link in one more time and then we'll get Caleb on here and then we'll take these calls and then we will never think about or talk about this game ever again.
00:39:31
Speaker
Very excited for that. ah But here we go. Dropping the link one more time. Sorry about the Wi-Fi issues, but it looks like it's working okay right now. So, ah all right. No, am I going to be able to hear the callers if I put them on stage? All right.
00:39:48
Speaker
Caleb, we're bringing you on right now. Yo. Yo, there he is. hear me? Yeah. All right. He's wearing a shirt. Yeah.
00:39:58
Speaker
Got to represent.
00:40:01
Speaker
Oh, let's go. Matching. Come on. Let's go. That's awesome. Caleb, 2-0 L. Worst game of the season. First home L since Club World Cup.
00:40:13
Speaker
Danny Mussovsky lost a tooth. It was a kind of a disaster at Lumen Field tonight. What did you see? What did you think? Well, i I didn't get to watch the game. I watched like maybe the last 10 minutes and I was it was just bizarre. I was especially was the last like person to watch yeah five minutes. I was just like, what in the world is going on?
00:40:35
Speaker
Like, where is our team right now? Yeah, so that period of the game was pretty much what it looked like for most of the game, I would say. ah Although I actually thought the very, very beginning wasn't that bad. Like they had one good chance where Pete Kingston, who was starting it right back, played in... ah moose yeah and moose had a pretty good look and i was like all right this is going how i would expect a seattle sounders game against the la galaxy at home to go and then uh moose got his tooth knocked out and then after that it just kind of never got back on the track so that's how i would describe it yeah that does not that does not sound very great
00:41:17
Speaker
It was not great is not the word that the first word that I would use. But I mean, I guess, you know, first home L of the season. ah But, you know, good start to the season. Other than that, you know record wise. Oh, for sure. So, yeah. How are you feeling in just regards to the big picture, I guess?
00:41:37
Speaker
Um... i i Right after the game, i was really annoyed. I've kind of calmed down a little bit. I'm more annoyed that we let them score twice. Yeah. And especially like at the last minute. like I feel like... I can't remember who was saying this, but... like Oh, no. I was watching ah Nico Moreno talk, and was saying how... like feels a bit like too comfortable.
00:42:03
Speaker
and like some and like I feel like I've seen like just a little bit, like can't really close off very well sometimes. i would have been i still would have been annoyed at a 1-0 loss, but two ni just was just...
00:42:16
Speaker
in Yeah, the 2-0 is a little tougher to take than the 1-0. I do think the second one is probably like kind of a byproduct of you're pushing super hard for the equalizer, so you leave yourself exposed on the other end. And at the end of the day, like taking the two zero doesn't really...
00:42:34
Speaker
make a bunch of a difference from the one zero other than gold differential i guess yeah but yeah i mean i think in principle like if you see one zero against the l la galaxy you can tell yourself oh well at least it was like a a close game like we yeah but really then you see the two zero and honestly like i mean i think two zero is fair like i think it was pretty much fair that's that was how the game went yeah yeah But I mean, overall, i would say it's pretty good.
00:43:02
Speaker
I mean, seven wins, two losses, and three draws. Yeah, you're still, I don't know if they're still at two points per game now, maybe a little under that. But let's see, let's see. I know before this, we were like 2.1 or 2.2 or something like that.
00:43:21
Speaker
so they're staring at exactly two, hey you're exactly two points per game through 12 matches. If you told me that before the season, and I would, I would take that all day. yeah I think just the frustrating thing is that a lot of these points that they've dropped in these last few weeks are against teams that they should not really be dropping points against. And it's like, if you just took care of business, you would be up at like 2.3, 2.4 points per game and you'd be chilling. So I think that's the frustrating thing. But, ah Caleb, give us ah give us one more take to bring it home, and then we got Kenny, and then we got Tribe.
00:43:52
Speaker
Yeah. um i cannot wait for I'm in your guys' boat. I can't wait for the World Cup to be over where we can get so many new players for free.
00:44:03
Speaker
We can get Pedro De La Vega. we can get Yaimar. And Maybe Moose will have a new signing, folks. ready for the narrative. Let's go. Exactly. I i i think he's going to cook. I can't wait because we we really need him, we and we need Yaimar. Oh, man, I feel bad. for Our defense is going to get some amazing summer signings from our own team. So I'm excited. I'm excited for post-World Cup.
00:44:35
Speaker
And I hope that LAFC is not going to be a downer because that'll just make it even worse. They're going through it right now too. So we'll see how that game goes. They are. I'm happy that they're seventh right now.
00:44:46
Speaker
Yeah, exactly. you know it could be worse. It could be LAFC. Caleb, great stuff, man. Appreciate you tapping in and have a good one. We'll catch you next time. You guys too. See

ah All right, we got tribe up next. It looks like Kenny got booted from the queue. Kenny, if you want to tap back in, we can get you in here, but we're going to bring tribe on the stage right now and then no one else is in the queue. So if you guys want to keep ripping tap in, but let's see what tribe has to say about all this tribe. Welcome to the stage. Can't wait to hear what, what you think of this one to zero L versus LA galaxy. Worst game of the season. First home L since the club world cup, Danny Musavsky loses a tooth. The team doesn't score any goals got bammed on by Nassim Mento. I do you want me to keep going? What did you, what do you, what did you see? Trav?
00:48:35
Speaker
well Well, not only did Mussovsky lose a tooth, I lost a fucking table to that game. It was the worst shit I have ever fucking seen. Passes going astray. Andrew Thomas almost fucking... What what are we doing? Fucking Neymar? Bro, lock in. You're keeper. You have the worst midfield to, to, to center forward passes that we've seen since 2022 in that regular season where we couldn't score a fucking goal. We couldn't score our goal. It was just horrible. Rothrock, not putting in good, good cutbacks. More. It's just bro. He was like, a i don't even, I'm losing. I'm at a loss words, man. I am legit trying to compose myself. I came and talk, man. I'm, I'm like, I'm like,
00:49:19
Speaker
intellectually disabled right now, bro. This is like the the craziest thing. But no, we we couldn't get the right passes forward. We couldn't. We just, I can't talk. just Just, I have a question.
00:49:33
Speaker
How are we going to do anything against LAFC? If this is a team that got me in three to one against SKC, SKC, SKC, how are we going to anything against LAFC?
00:49:47
Speaker
Well, LAFC is not that good right now. I would start with that. Like they're not, I would say them LAFC in their current form, they don't look that much different in quality to a lot of the, uh, not good teams that Seattle has been playing lately. But I mean, Seattle has dropped points against sporting Casey, San Diego FC, and just took an L to the LA galaxy. So that is, it is kind of like, uh,
00:50:10
Speaker
It can be hard in MLS to do the thing where you're like, well, you beat that team and that team's bad. So that means you should beat this team. And because this team lost to that team, like it always ends up like you play a team that just lost to Sporting KC and then they beat you like that kind of shit does happen. But as for if Seattle can be LAFC, I mean, I think, look, I think everybody is tired and beat up right now. And I think you are, you know, like you're seeing a lot of the Western conference contenders go through it. To be fair, Vancouver ah lost tonight to to Houston. war warm for them San Jose is down against FC Dallas. So like,
00:50:51
Speaker
you know, and other people are going through it too. And LAFC has been going through it just as much as Seattle and everyone else. So I would say if there's, if there's reason for hope against LAFC, it's just that they're not that good right now either.
00:51:04
Speaker
But what scares me, right? What scares me, it's it's it's just like, it's not even the mentality. We were we were obviously playing urgently. we We wanted it. We really did. But it's it's the passes that we couldn't figure out. It was cheap giveaways. We just couldn't do anything. And you see are arguably the best player the season, Paul Rothrock, who's usually incredibly good at cutting ah balls end into the box, straight to a defender every single time. And then you have Jordan Morris, who's usually in very good spaces, couldn't even get on the ball in the final third except for maybe a header and maybe a shot. You also have Osaza DeRozan. He looked like the best player up top.
00:51:46
Speaker
He really did with his hold-up play. That's a scary thing to say when Osaza de Rosario probably the best attacking threat. ah Snyder Brunel looked off as, I mean, ah Kalani Kosarienzi.
00:52:01
Speaker
was a breath of fresh air in this game, but he couldn't really maintain it for the entire the entirety of the time. The last 10 minutes was okay. It's just we wanted it. We have the quality, but it just didn't go through. Is this a case of being unlucky or or is it or is it something more?
00:52:21
Speaker
I think that the San Diego game and the SKC game were examples of games where the chance generation was where it needed to be. The XG was cooking. Like you had, you had all the looks you played well offensively and you got a little unlucky and you just couldn't finish. This game felt less like that to me. This felt like they were not really creating anything.
00:52:44
Speaker
Danger in that way. Never felt like we were going to score equalizer. No. It never really felt like it. And I think a reason for that is ah like kind of what you were talking about, the struggles in possession, like the giveaways. Like this team usually so, when they're at their best, they're razor sharp in possession. You can't get the ball off them. Like they were just...
00:53:02
Speaker
Like this was probably the worst game they've had in possession all year. So when they're that, when they're struggling that much in possession, it sort of makes it difficult to, to play Schmetzer ball. Like he wants you to, because like a prerequisite for that is being able to keep the ball and work with the ball. And they were not able to do that tonight.
00:53:20
Speaker
Absolutely. I do have to go. But ah one thing, what what happened to Musovsky? Did he lose a tooth or something? He lost a tooth, Tribe. Yeah, he yeah he he went up for a a header on a ball in the box and got smashed in the face and no longer has one of his teeth, which is pretty gnarly. Which one? I don't know. We'll see.
00:53:42
Speaker
oh i hope it's a front one. how would That would look... I was just informed we're posting the video of it that we got to Instagram soon. So that should be a bit. And you guys can actually see the pitch side footage of the Musavsky debacle. But honestly, that was the most memorable part of the game was Moose Toothless Moose. ah and But it kind of felt like, I mean, i don't know. Did you see the whole game, Trav?
00:54:05
Speaker
Yeah, unfortunately. it Yeah, like it it felt like honestly until the Moose Tooth thing, I thought it was going okay. And then after written it it never really like recovered.
00:54:17
Speaker
no No, really. It's like one of those moments that it just just screws over an entire game. Like, like like for example, when when Portland scored that bicycle kick against us when when we were up with that Rudy's goal, they just scored four on us.
00:54:30
Speaker
It's like a momentum thing, but this this just was different. It was just fucking weird. It's weird to the extent that that seemed like it derailed the team and derailed the game, because it's like... i Yeah, like you lose Moose, but like you've played with without Moose a lot, like and there was the rest of the entire game left. That was like five minutes into the game. so Yeah, and you also have Morse and Osaze to replace if anything goes wrong. I mean...
00:54:56
Speaker
yeah i like you wouldn' arguably options are probably as good if not better. i can I can accept that it's probably like a little bit of a jolt to start a game, be like five minutes into the game and have one of your starting players get his face smashed in and have to sub off and that kind of rattles you and takes the air out a little bit. But there was just so much of the game left to recover from that and it just kind of felt like they never did. Maybe that's where just the fatigue factor comes in because I do think like A performance like that, if your legs are not as heavy as their legs were, maybe that doesn't happen like that. But shit happens.
00:55:33
Speaker
Anyways, I hope we all can recover and we are going to come back stronger. and And I'm talking about the fans. Fuck the players after that, honestly. Jesus.
00:55:45
Speaker
Fuck them all. Hay cuts, man. Someone needs to get fired. Fire them all, right? oh So, yeah. I gotta go, but I hope you have absolutely wonderful streaming. thank you for doing always yeah I appreciate you, man. We'll catch you on the next one.
00:56:01
Speaker
Uh, all right. No one else is in the queue. So Kenny Timbo, I saw you guys in there. If you want to, uh, tap in, tap in because I got no one in there right now. So I'm going freestyle for a minute or two and, uh, see if anyone else taps in. Hey, if not, you know, we can rip an hour and, uh, and chalk it. I don't, I don't really care, but, uh, what's, what's up? What's up?

00:56:48
Speaker
We literally had the tech all perfect. This was not our fault this time. Definitely wasn't me. Definitely wasn't me. logan It was Logan. It was not me. So, uh, all right. Uh, okay. We got, we got people in the queue. Now we got Caleb, we got Raul and then we got Rob. All right, let's go. This is a, this is a, uh, this is a good lineup right here. Let's see what Caleb's got to say about this. This is what we all, this is what we all want to see. Caleb.
00:57:13
Speaker
What's up, man? Welcome to the show. two zero whats ah I can't hear you guys right now, so I'm going to tap off and then I'm going to tap. I didn't get it so I can get a chance to hear you.
00:57:26
Speaker
OK, got you. Uh, I heard you, Caleb, but if you can't hear me, then we'll, we'll get you back in. All right, let's get Raul in here. Raul. What's up, man. Welcome to the stage. You're on the show right now.
00:57:37
Speaker
Two zero LA galaxy. First home loss of the season. First home loss since the club world cup. Moose lost a tooth. It was a disaster. What did you see? What'd you think?
00:57:48
Speaker
ah I guess the starting 11 was like the main thing, as everybody was saying. Yeah, what'd you think of that? It's weird one, man. I don't know. I don't know what the thought process is behind Brian with the starting 11. I feel like when you have a starting 11 versus san Jose, you kind of have all the guys. They know what they know where everybody's at.
00:58:05
Speaker
Then you put a new, more or less, new starting 11. They just don't link up. And then when you have weird accidents, like with the whole Moose thing, and then, you know, Roosnack coming in out of nowhere, I feel like he can't just, I don't know, doesn't link up with it. That whole thing just, like, threw everything off. It did. But, like, I guess my thing is, like, it shouldn't that It shouldn't. It really shouldn't. Like, you make one early sub, and then you just, like, melt down. Like, what's up with that?
00:58:30
Speaker
Yeah, no, it it shouldn't be it shouldn't be like that. It's weird, man. I don't know. I haven't seen Brian's post-match to see what like what's what why that starting 11th. Is it fatigue? Is it tiredness? I mean, he's trying to rotate, which I can get behind that. Yeah.
00:58:47
Speaker
It just kind of, I don't know how I feel about the Hassani Snyder double pivot. I was saying earlier that i it didn't work. And I think it just might be a thing where, you know, you need, you need like physicality and bite from that position that maybe Hassani provides in theory, but like if he's paired with Snyder, maybe, I don't know if you have enough of that. i don't know. It felt like that. Yeah. That didn't really work. Yeah. They ended up having to sub off Pete Kingston at halftime. So that was another thing where you're like making a sub when you wouldn't normally. so there was just yeah there's just some weird stuff with the lineup. Kingston definitely needed to come out. He gave up a ball, too. It it just... it just
00:59:27
Speaker
they weren't Well, you could tell, you could freaking tell that as soon as they saw that Pete Kingston was in the lineup, they were like, we're going to send paints to at at that guy as much as we possibly can. Like he has not played a lot of MLS ball. Now he's got to go against like a Ghanaian international winger. Like that's a tough matchup.
00:59:44
Speaker
like But that's the thing. You know that. I know that. Everybody knows that. Brian knows that. That Galaxy is going to come in here. They're going to put Peck on that side. They're to Payne Stile on that side. they know You know they're going to run at you, and then you do a rotation like that. I guess that's the frustrating part. Up top, you already know Morris is not he's just not hanging, man.
01:00:03
Speaker
He's just not hanging. There's there is no threat from him today. ah Kingston was just he gave up one ball, probably more than that. Reagan was very slow, wasn't doing the right touches.
01:00:18
Speaker
That's wasn't there. Yeah. i don't know. The whole operation was just off. It was, it was the whole operation was off in a way that it usually, i feel like it doesn't go that far off the rails with this team. This team's usually good about, even if they're, even if they're under it and they're having a bad game, they're like, they're hanging with it better than that, especially against a team that's that bad, you know, which yeah i I can't really say much about the LA galaxy right now after that, but it's not, they're not every, even their own fans know that they're not like that good. So yeah.
01:00:49
Speaker
Yeah, yeah. But the thing is that, like, i would rather you start that starting 11 versus San Jose, and then you put in those guys. Because then what? You find yourself chasing the game. You know that you're going to hold possession, and that whole team is just going to park. They're going to close down. And then are you going to do?
01:01:04
Speaker
Are you going to cross into Maybe De Rosario? you know it's yeah They almost had one on that areola play, but that was about that was it. That was like the only good chance of the game. yeah That was it. I don't know. it's just for Me personally, put your starting 11 up there.
01:01:21
Speaker
If you want to rotate some guys, rotate them 55th, 60th minute. you know but no yeah By the time that Rothrock and Christian got on there, it was like, this is like too late. It's too late. it's only yeah sixeth minute I don't know how that's too late, but it was. You're chasing the game.
01:01:37
Speaker
Well, Raul, how are you feeling to close it out? are you feeling about the bigger picture? You know, bad L, bad performance. ah You know, they are still seven, two and three, averaging two points per game ah through 12 games. Are you taking any solace in that? Or are you feeling dice here?
01:01:51
Speaker
Well, the Sounders are the Sounders. We're a good team. We're a solid team. We know what we play. We know how we play. We know who we are. um but just up top, you know, we got to, I really hope we get some signings up in the summer and make it happen. I'm not worried about... Pedro Navega, he's the new signing. He's on his way.
01:02:08
Speaker
i don't know, man. pet Pedro reminds me of Arjun Rovin back in the Madrid days where he would just get injured and then be good and then injured. He's like, you know what? You're done. So I wouldn't put all my...
01:02:19
Speaker
oh my but i know I know most of the fan base wouldn't hedge on that, but that's absolutely what the team's gonna be hedging on and they're gonna sell it like that too. So get just get ready to hear everyone affiliated with the team talk about how Pedro's a new signing.
01:02:34
Speaker
And there was a little bit of, i don't know why, but today there was a little bit of a small frustration after, you know, that that everybody put out their and MLS salaries and all that. I was like, oh, no, no. It frustrated me a little bit more with this result. But, yeah, man, it's, it's yeah, yeah.
01:02:50
Speaker
I don't know. Next week, we've got to get the win with LAFC. Got to bounce back. guess what i call him But we've got to get the win with them. look Like I always say, we're not scared of anybody. I don't care who it is. i mean Anybody from the league can get it If they go out there and they beat LASC's ass in this next game, I'll forget all about this. I'll forgive it.
01:03:09
Speaker
but yeah But it's going to be hard to do. Like even, you know, LFC is not that good right now, but they playing them on the road is never going to be easy. And then you do have, you know, Sun Hyung-min and Denny Buonga out there. So it's going to be hard Which is similar to what this Galaxy is where you have, but but I can't say his name, Bonunga, whatever, on the left. And you have the other Venezuelan guy on the right. Exactly. oh which You know what you're expecting? Start your starting 11. I guess the question is now, are you putting the Rosario up top are you putting Morris morris up top You know, me personally, i like Rusnak and Ferreira together. i like Pauly on the left.
01:03:46
Speaker
And I guess we're just at this point with Musme and I, to have to put Morris up top. But we got to stick to our starting 11 and rotate guys, you know, rotate them afterwards. And so that you don't find yourself chasing the game, you know.
01:03:59
Speaker
yeah exactly all right raul great stuff man appreciate you tapping in one last thing thank you are oh yeah you know shout out to nico shout out to jeremiah everybody peace take care and uh thank you guys for everything shout out to you man thank you
01:04:16
Speaker
ah all right we got Rob and then Caleb. Let's get Rob in here and let's see what Rob has to say about all this. Voice of reason in these trying times. Rob, welcome to the show.
01:04:28
Speaker
You're on the stage. What's up, man? loss against the l LA Galaxy. It was a disaster. Moose lost a tooth. First home L of the season. First home L since the Club World Cup. What did what did you see, Rob? What did think?
01:04:42
Speaker
So I was late getting into the stadium. Didn't get in until post- post musovsky tooth loss uh so hey when i sat down and i honestly i was shocked i was like oh shit we're we're one nil down damn how'd that happen um i i really feel like schmetz kind of encapsulated it in his post-match presser um i really would chalk this one up to the shifting in the lineup
01:05:17
Speaker
uh you know guys were just kind of you know it was a weird it was a very weird starting 11 like i think we should acknowledge that that is like not that it's not like the team that we watch every week and i you know and and you know the reality is you know look let let's let's be real going into the world cup break here we're you know we're banged up you know at the end of the day We always like to complain, all we should have gone with our normal starting 11. We should have done this.
01:05:48
Speaker
The reality is the coaches no who's healthy, who's not, who's carrying Knox, who's not. And as much as we want to be upset about that and irritated about that, you know, oh, this guy should have started and he's better.
01:06:02
Speaker
Look, I get it, Frank, but you don't know who's carrying a busted toe, who's got a blister on the back of their heel, you know, who's carrying what. And that happens, right? The coaches know that and they know who they got arrested, who they can play, right?
01:06:16
Speaker
And I feel like there was a lot of that going on in this game. Obviously, Alex being out didn't help. He's kind of, you know, he's been that fill-in center back who's been doing extremely well, and then he wasn't available due to the hamstring pull, right? Yeah.
01:06:33
Speaker
So here we are. You know, I mean, at the end of the match, Alex, you know, at the center back position, or no, he replaced Tino Lopez at the center back spot.
01:06:48
Speaker
20 minutes. And so, you know, it was, it was it was a it was a frustrating result. We should have done better against the galaxy admittedly.
01:07:02
Speaker
um and And I think that's the tough part when you look at this match sterilely and you look at, Oh, where the galaxy are in the table, where we're at in the table, we should have done better. Right.
01:07:15
Speaker
But yeah.
01:07:22
Speaker
This is a parody based league. These are the kind of results that happen. Got it. You know, we'll, we'll take, we'll lick our wound. You really got to go lick your wound, man. That, that sucks. It's a bad wound.
01:07:38
Speaker
Shitty. um God.
01:07:42
Speaker
There was another question, man, that has suddenly evaded me. um What did you think of Moose getting his tooth knocked out? Sorry, Holly's driving. um Right.
01:07:54
Speaker
um But the other thing I was going to bring up is talking about summer signings, talking about, you know, summer signings version versus Pedro returning. My biggest fear about Pedro coming back Historically, when we have brought Pedro back, he has been extremely slow to reintegrate to the squad. Now I get that that's often a Schmetz decision, but you know between Schmetz and the trainers, you know they make those calls.
01:08:27
Speaker
I get it that previously these were ah you know muscle injuries. And so oh that doctor,
01:08:43
Speaker
man, we're to get Pedro back. And I'm like, ah, okay. We come back in July from the world cup, you know, three to four games, you know, to slowly, you know, let's assume to reintegrate him back into the squad that puts us into mid August.
01:09:01
Speaker
Uh, then we're in the heart of leagues cup. Um, a you know, I'm just kind of like, Where does that put Pedro fitting back in? wrote I think we're looking at realistically September for him fully back in, possibly into the starting lineup.
01:09:20
Speaker
um You know, getting, you know, 60 plus minutes. ah It's, um I'm like, just I'm hoping we're not hanging our hat on, you know, what may not really pan out for us.
01:09:37
Speaker
Maybe that's me being, <unk> yeah I'm a little nervous about that that. The hat is being hung. The hat is hung that. I think that's exactly how they're they're looking at it. if you think about how they're looking at it, they're probably like, you know, bad L, but we're at two points per game through 12 games. We're awesome. If we get this new signing of Pedro De La Vega back, we're going to be vibing.
01:10:02
Speaker
And, you know, admittedly, when you bring Pedro back into it, a player error of his quality can definitely impact defenses.
01:10:14
Speaker
ah That opens up other spaces for other attacking players, right? that That is very well a possibility. um And maybe that unlocks our attack.
01:10:25
Speaker
I certainly hope so. um But again, with what we're seeing right now, this is the third of four games where we have seen our attack stroke Yeah. And this felt different to me though. This felt different. The SKC game and the San Diego game I could look at and be like, all right. I mean, they were pummeling those teams with shots and chances and playing some good footy. There's, they just couldn't finish, which is not good, but it's like, you can at least look at that and be like, well, they didn't play poorly tonight. I was like, those chances weren't even there really.
01:11:03
Speaker
So that was why it was a little more concerning, I guess. But I'm hoping, I guess, that it's just fatigue. And maybe a combination of fatigue and and the the roster shake or the lineup shake up, you know, maybe that's what caused tonight, right?
01:11:21
Speaker
So, yeah you know, in a vacuum, who knows? You know, maybe maybe this is one of those we got to chalk up to being in a vacuum. Look, I i really, man, at the end of this match, i'll day there was a part of me I wanted to crash out. I wanted to be angry. i wanted to be like, man, this is bullshit, you know? and
01:11:47
Speaker
But I was like, man, just breathe. It's okay. It's MLS. It's MLS. You're never, you were never going to make it through an MLS season without some bullshit like this happening at least a couple of times. Like you're just not, that's yeah.
01:12:02
Speaker
That's right. That's right. No, you're, you're right. I mean, you know, we've been following this club for a long time. hard to like accept that in the moment when you take one of these L's. But like the reality is when you look at this schedule before the season, you can guarantee there's going to be a couple where you're like, that should be a win. And then you somehow lose and you're like.
01:12:22
Speaker
Yeah, that's, that's the breaks, man. Yeah. All right. Well, I'll let you guys go. We're we're pulling into McDonald's for our consolation snacks. Hell yeah.
01:12:33
Speaker
so Well, and thanks for everything, man. but Yeah. Thanks for, thanks for calling in. and Appreciate you, man. We'll talk to you on the next one. You betcha. All right, we got Caleb and then that is it. I'll drop the link in one more time in case we got any stragglers, but other ah if not, we're going to let Caleb at his drum drum set, close it out. Link's are right there, though, if anyone else wants in. But let's get Caleb on here. This is what the people have been waiting for. He's at his drum set. He's got his Pedro de la Vega jersey.
01:13:05
Speaker
Caleb, what's up, man? Can you hear me, first of all?

Home Loss Reflections and Call to Action

01:13:08
Speaker
ah Yes, I can hear you. Can you hear me? Yeah, I got you. Caleb, 2-0 L against the LA Galaxy. First home loss of the season.
01:13:17
Speaker
First L since the Club World Cup at home. Danny Musavsky lost a tooth. What did you think, man? Where's your head at? Well, first, like, you know, we got to do we got to do this right in the scorching nation. So, ladies and gentlemen, if you have not yet, please like share and comment and subscribe to the video. Hype the video up, you know, then and ladies and gentlemen, if you haven't, ah like, you know, subscribe to Lobbing Scorchers QB coffee um no for the morning show slash Lobbing Scorchers, get your percentages off.
01:13:49
Speaker
um and Haxan for Men's and Full Pull Wines and many other the companies that support the the great Sounder and Heart Nation. now Now that we got that out of the way, um you're welcome.
01:14:04
Speaker
ah Now, the one name that nobody is saying throughout this whole thing, which Ari, I'm going to let, I'm going to give you a guess. What, like, who do you think of knowing me?
01:14:17
Speaker
Yeah. Who do you think i am absolutely pointing the sniper of the, of, ah of, of ah of ah of, of the arrow to like, of, of ah when it comes to our organization and it's, uh, yeah. Uh, would it, would it be the general manager perhaps?
01:14:35
Speaker
Oh, my gosh. dinging ding ding Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding. That is

Criticism of GM Craig Weibel's Decisions

01:14:40
Speaker
right. Because, ladies and gentlemen, this is what we get for believing in another former RSL general manager named Mr. Craig Weibel.
01:14:53
Speaker
like so i mean again all of every okay oh also also wait before i before i before i finished it uh before i end my uh go continue my rant i would like first like to say um shout out to a hunch and shout out to tribe for the like for amazing shout outs um and the and so to so much of this of of the scorching nation of like thank you all for like you know your words of of of kindness and support um it's because of all of you guys like we can't i like you know i i can't do this alone nor they're like you know so like it is everybody like has a everybody has a say in this in this platform and i'm grateful to the you know for for all of you guys with the love and support for that um but back to now back to our regular schedule programming now for for craig
01:15:43
Speaker
Like, and and i'm I'm fed up with him. Like, like ah do you got everybody's been saying great things about like, you know, rosters and everything. But everybody's forgetting about one thing.
01:15:55
Speaker
The general manager vote this year. the gm vote this year that literally if you want pepo to stay if you want certain things to like stay at at its course because everything literally which i'm telling the fans and this and the scorching nation right now are you i hope you all are listening everybody like you know get get get your like turn up your like you know like your cellular devices or computers or or everything This vote to the ECS faithful and the season ticket holders. This is the currency of power that you have to literally make sure that we do not ever have to go through things like this again with the power of this vote. We were stubborn with Garth. And I'm going to literally admit that we were stubborn with Garth.
01:16:44
Speaker
And because we just let him do what he does and like didn't really get to really see what he's done. And now that we put it to Craig, now everybody's wanting to act like I'm a general manager. I know about trades and rosters and this 800,000 is not what it is. And Craig's do it like, no, none of y'all were saying that like, you know, with guards. So literally like, let's, let's, let's end that BS.

Impact of Mussofsky's Substitution

01:17:06
Speaker
Okay. Now to the game side, Like Danny Mussofsky was like, I mean, like I already knew that like once Danny Mussofsky came on when Albert came in, i was just like, look, the game's gone.
01:17:18
Speaker
The momentum's gone. Like, cause I've said go snack will always be go snack. I mean, he's getting paid like 2.3 million. Like, you know, the biggest player he does these RSL ghosts.
01:17:29
Speaker
I said 2.3. I said 2.3. Yeah. He's making 2.6. yeah he's making two point six Oh, 2.6. Okay. Well, like that's close to like 3.2, like, you know, in like an, an aggregate call, like an aggregate, I guess.
01:17:41
Speaker
Got things, but it's like, but, but still like you were the highest, like, I'm just saying this from watching Albert when he played at ah RSL, this is the same stupid dunce performances that he done here. And this is like, that's why i keep saying like it it sucks. That, you know, like every like that, that there's so many people that want to believe in this thing of a new thing, but I'm like, no, this isn't anything new.
01:18:06
Speaker
This is stupid. He's been in this league for 10 years. Like there is no fear. And to be honest, we like, we we set ourselves up for this. We absolutely set ourselves up for this, like, you know, absolute, like, you know, dismantling of a display because it's like, it it ah ah it's ah it's it' it's like, look, like you have these two LA teams that knows every time that it can, like, anytime that their shit, like the shit goes, like hits the fan for them.

Struggles Against LA Teams

01:18:35
Speaker
who is always there to give them the the the spark of instigation it's always us whether when it when it comes to l lafc they're going to be having a downfall but you know what everybody they're going to wipe all that emotions away and they're going to put i'm sorry like i don't know and like i'm sorry but we better get but brian better be wise with this because he knows that he has not won during the regular season against l lafc in any is ever in his career.
01:19:03
Speaker
And again, like, you know, nobody's gonna ever want to talk about that. i mean, yes, you've won it in playoffs and in crunch time. I give that respect. And that also gives the, that that makes the argument that that can balance out the argument. But during the regular season, the two play things that literally every MLS pundit can literally smack the loving scorching nation and the great sounder nation is with the, because they know the two things sounders aren't going to get their heads out of their ass when they come to salt lake.
01:19:31
Speaker
And when like, which we did get that law. So it's now with salt lake actually beat their Derby day rivals, uh, uh, Colorado, uh, rapids, which now they jumped up to third and now we're in for now we're in fourth, um, by the way. So it's like I said, This literally, this falls on so much. That is why I'm selling it right now. We need to literally get our heads out of our asses.
01:19:57
Speaker
Like all of us from the fans to the players, to the organizations from top to bottom. And we need to get our eyes focused and get laser fucking focused. And I end that. So I'll yeah i give back the floor.
01:20:12
Speaker
Well, yeah.
01:20:15
Speaker
Do you, I mean, do you think that there's actually a chance on this, on this vote that Craig wives could be on the outs? Cause I just don't see it just based on historical precedent, you know, like, uh, what makes you say that for you? Like, uh, like saying that, like he has protection.
01:20:32
Speaker
if If I may say in the, if it, ah like if I may ask that. well we I've always felt like for someone to actually lose that vote, things would have to be so egregiously disgustingly off the rails, bad that it's like untenable. And when you look at the, at a team that's like, yeah, they took a bad L tonight. But when you look at a team that's seven, two and three and averaging two points per game,
01:20:56
Speaker
it's not like it's not off the rails to an extent that enough people would be upset enough to vote like that. That's just what I would pose from what I've seen in the past, because especially with the votes that with Garth, like you mentioned, like those never got remotely close because like, despite whatever shortcomings there might've been, the team was still performing pretty well. So that's the, damage that's how I see it.
01:21:23
Speaker
Okay. And okay. and And that's, I understand that perspective, but I see this as for me, I've, I've read the car. I've been a comment merchant. I've literally seen like, as me as the sounder attorney at law, I have to know what, like, you know, the grand people are saying, so we can come into the court and actually have this like case and we can actually settle this case. Like, you know, uh, uh, uh, uh
01:21:47
Speaker
and i do like i've seen in the fans There is no belief in Craig. like i' I'm sorry. like in my In my honest perspective, I do not see people believe in that in that man the way that everybody got behind Garth.
01:22:04
Speaker
And that's sort of saying a lot from me. Like it's, like they they give me the, he's been non ambitious. Like either if he did something for like, you know, for the fans, like I get it. Yes. He got De La Vega.
01:22:17
Speaker
Like he, he had like, you know, which to be honest, like if you, if you watch RSL insider, our ah Salt Lake brings Argentinian flair, you're welcome. You'll see Craig Weibel there. This isn't anything new.
01:22:28
Speaker
um And if you want to fact check me, I dare anybody um because like i said, He is, it's it's, it's just, it's just like that. Like the, the, he doesn't, he's not like giving these fans the, the, the, like, I could understand, like, he doesn't speak up for the fans. And like I said, it, I, I, I keep saying this, like when I first said it on my first ever episode, I said, brian has not been able to breed because he has been more surrounded by much by so much ah rsl like i would love for just brian to be surrounded by emerald cityness yes you can say in the aggregate that's that craig was a former sounder and a husky but no once he signed with ah rsl and once he maintained the streak that garth started That like literally that, that, that, no, that's like, you don't, you don't like, and, and, and you, you, we've given you four years, we've given you adamantly for you. I've been absolutely silent and quiet about it.

But since you brought now 12 years with the four years of your incompetence of not getting a win in Salt Lake, I can't like for me. No, like you like that. That is the one thing I like. I know you wanted that win and in in at America first field and everybody wanted these grand like those things. But I'm like, no, because Craig.

Danny Mussofsky's Tooth Incident

01:23:53
Speaker
I'm sorry. calb No, no, you're good. The video of the tooth is live on our Instagram, lobbing scorchers Instagram. I repeat the video of moose holding up the tooth is live. But you heard it here. Danny Mussovsky tooth video on the Instagram. Caleb, give us, give us, keep finish your take to bring us home and then we'll, ah we'll get Jack in here.
01:24:22
Speaker
um okay like i said my take is like i said we like this now literally points to craig because we got that stupid invisible two million of gam we better do something with the signing and this signing better hit because if you if we if we're this so-called good club that has walked out even yet the play the plan like i mean i get it like you know the whole so-called pedro de la vega which i believe in it i still believe in the pet i'm um i'm still team pro pedro Like we need to really get our hearts ready because if we do not get this win at, at LAFC, I, there's going to be, there's going to be a lot of questions coming after this break.
01:25:00
Speaker
And I really hope that the fans like stick together. We need to stick together. Cause like I said, all eyes are on Phillip. We need Phillip and George. And it's these moments like this, that is going to put the fans together and let's put belt to ask for the, when we come with like, you know, to LAFC.
01:25:18
Speaker
Caleb, absolute fire as always, man. Thanks for tapping in. We'll, ah we'll catch you on the, on the next one. Oh, wait, wait. Can i just say one more thing? Just one more thing real quick. yeah Yeah. um Like, and for, for the scorching nation and sounder nation, I will be in Seattle on and like it, like on June 6th at inner Bay stadium.
01:25:43
Speaker
because i'm going to because this lovely baby will make her appearance in the bushes like for the ballard fc versus portland bangers derby and so if you have nothing to do for the world cup like please come out and come to the ballard fc derby match i will be there please don't be a stranger and ari you already promised because you already said that on on that one episode that you promised to make it later and on going yeah So I can't wait to see that. Disappointment and Lineup Questions

01:26:28
Speaker
to the state. Hey, can you hear me? You got me? Yeah, I got you. 2-0 L versus the LA Galaxy. First L at Lumen Field of the year. First L at Lumen Field since the Club World Cup.
01:26:39

Moose lost a tooth. The squad didn't score any goals. They got bammed on by Nascimento. I mean, it was a disaster. Jack, what'd you what'd you see? What'd you think? Yeah, i mean i mean, that sucked. That wasn't fun. It just like felt like everyone just didn't like step up today. I think that's just kind of... it just Sometimes you just have those games where...
01:26:57
Speaker
Not everyone's there, or it's like it's like you know one too many changes. Had to change at pretty much every line in the field. So just enough things were off that it just didn't... Rotate lineup, and then your starting striker gets blasted in the face five minutes into the game, loses his tooth. that really Didn't it feel like that whole moment just kind of...
01:27:18
Speaker
I don't know. It was like it like took the air out of everything like way more than I feel like it should have. Like I get it on one hand, but it's like that shouldn't chalk the game like, but I mean like in the same way, like he like had like he yeah, he got hit in the face really hard lost a tooth, but it's not like like if a guy goes down with like a knee injury or something that it's like, oh, we lost our brother like type thing, but it wasn't like that. It's like.
01:27:39
Speaker
I don't know. It's like a weird mix of, I mean, the first game of the season when Jordan went down, like, you know, like five minutes in, it's kind of like a similar timing thing, but like we were able to like turn that game on. And I think yeah also like, because like Moose had that like really good chance, like two minutes before that too. Like, I mean, like that was like, I mean, that was probably the best chance of the game is like where he had pretty much like an open shot. I mean, that's like a hard running play. So it's not, it's not easy to,
01:28:03
Speaker
power that through and get that on frame, but, like, that was probably about as good as a look as we had, so like, I think that was kind of a bummer for that. I guess, like, looking back, i don't know, looking at the lineup to start, I was excited to see the Paul Areola, Ferreira, Jordan Morris, like, in the and the front three, just to, like, try and see that, like, USMNT, like, connection to kind of, like, I want to see that connection happen, because I just feel like we haven't seen that at all, and, like, a lot of that's, like, you know, Paul Areola's injury, but, like,
01:28:32
Speaker
Even when he's been on, I feel like we haven't given like him and Ferreira and Jordan that like space to really work together. So I was excited to see that. was like hoping to kind of like see that connection and breakout game that they needed to have. But then also like when Danny goes down, it's like, well, I don't know. I think like the sliding door here is like you could have... They chose to bring Albert on and then you know do the rotation, move Jordan up top so you get him to play nine, move Ferreira over. But it's like you also could have brought Osaze Yeah. Like a like for like for the nine sub, which...
01:29:02
Speaker
Yeah, this is a good, that's a good point. That's what he does. And if Schmetz could do it again, I bet like now that he saw how it worked out, I bet he would do that because like you, you game plans, you game plans to play this game in a specific way all week. And then when Danny, when Danny went out and a Rusnak came back in, it, that blew, it blew up everything. They probably gave it changes all the, yeah. Like all the connection points. Like, yeah, like Ferreira is no longer playing like his like 10, like it changes his mentality. Yeah. Like Albert, like, I mean, like, yeah, he was looking to rest and like play 30 minutes. Like, you know, that's like a different thing. mean, I get, I think in the moment I got it because it's like, well, if you bring Orsazi on now, then like you have both of your nines on right now for the entire game. So then you can't in the last like 20 minutes bring on the nine with fresh legs.
01:29:48
Speaker
So like you kind of like, yeah, if you brought him on, you kind of scratch that's like, that makes sense. But like, i don't know, just like with how the game turned out, I think it would have been nice. Like, I think it would have been like less of a change to bring, yeah, to just bring Osaze up there. I think that kind of, that would have been interesting to see if that would have happened. But, and I
01:30:09
Speaker
lost you. Are we back? Oh, wait, hold on, hold on. on Okay, I think I... ah Okay, we got it. Yeah, blacked out for a second, but I think it's good.
01:30:22
Speaker
I hear you, but I don't see you, but I can hear you. Okay, I can... Yeah, this is going in and out for me, but... Yeah, i don't know. I just, like, I wanted to see that connection um with um We always just like with those guys up front, I think just like, i mean, like the Paul Areola-Ferrera connection, like we know it's there.

They just haven't really been given the chance to do it. And like, I'd like, I want to see that, give that some time to develop still. Like, i mean, we was hoping this would be the game for that to happen. And it's a bummer it didn't, but I still would like to to see a little more of that if they get the chance to.
01:30:54
