jarrod_dyke: We're going, it's fancy time, but we don't have that much to talk about. um We'll recap the ah Super Rugby here, and then we'll get into where Champion League standings are sitting now, and that's pretty much gonna be all we got for that.

jarrod_dyke: um Division one. Uh, been a movement, been swap places with Stu. So, all right. All right.

Grumpy Old Prop: Still going for relegation though.

jarrod_dyke: Yeah. You're, you you're in trouble. You, you need to somehow climb to the top after this weekend and make sure Justin stays where he is.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah.
jarrod_dyke: And then it's a tie. In which case somewhere you have to do something over the summer.
Grumpy Old Prop: Eh. Like a quite a flip. Flip by coin.
jarrod_dyke: Um, um and Okay. And then division two, tell you one second. Oh yeah. So the order is Cobus, Mark, Ben, Stu, George, myself, Duncan, and Justin. Division two is
jarrod_dyke: um, party and every swap places. So as there's a little bit of movement there. Paul, who's on top had the yellow hat. So there you go. Um, Paul Franco, Barty, Abri, Luke, and Alex. And then Anton Paul in the rear because you didn't bother to put a team in lazy fucker. Um, just speaking facts over here, you know, we can update the super, the champions league standings in terms of, cause we ended super rugby, FRD, and we ended Premiere ship over the last couple of weeks here.
Grumpy Old Prop: Hmm. Hmm.
jarrod_dyke: Jared can't spell, that shouldn't shock anybody. There we go.

Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah.
jarrod_dyke: I it again, damn, oh, because I copied and pasted. That's why. and Say, wait a minute, did I do that twice? No, I just copied and pasted it. So technically I did, but you know. Anyway, so we had, In Super Rugby FRD, we had George in first, Mark in second, Justin and I shared points in a semi -final losers. ah Duncan's two shared points as semifinal winners in the SACO bracket, and Coba said the one single point for for you against you there, buddy. Could've helped you.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah.
jarrod_dyke: And then for division two was Anton ah in first party and second, I believe it was Alex, shared semifinal with player X who just spoils things and does nobody at any points, which sucks for everybody else.
Grumpy Old Prop: but
jarrod_dyke: um Luke and Paul had three apiece as SACO winners, ah winners in in the semi -final and then Franco won the Zacho ball, so he yeah ah got a point on that. Premiership Superbrew, which was rearrraned was arranged a little differently, had Cobas on top and Stewart second, myself in third, George Ben, Duncan, Mark, Justin, so points are 10, eight, seven, six, four, three, two, zero, and that. And then again, we had one spoiler in division two because
jarrod_dyke: Somebody else is in there and crashing the party. But Alex won, so we got 10 out of that. ah Paul Franco Anton, Avery Barty, Luke at the bottom.
Grumpy Old Prop: Mm -hmm.
jarrod_dyke: So the standings after all that business, or some some people from a certain region of the country might say that John.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah, yes. Although...
jarrod_dyke: There's some weird people that say it.
Grumpy Old Prop: I'll allow it. I'll allow it. yes
jarrod_dyke: One of my good coaching friends says it a lot. So, he's a piece of work.
Grumpy Old Prop: it's it's It's like, um if you're from Philly, it's like Smurf.
Grumpy Old Prop: if if you If you're old enough to remember that, where the Smurfs would would use Smurf for anything, that's good.

jarrod_dyke: Exactly. Anyway, the, um, the standings in division one, George is sitting on top with Stu in second and Cobas in third. That's where that's the tightest right there. Those three. Um, but George has a good five, six point lead on either of them. So they're going to have to do some business in this coming, this coming week. ah Mark Duncan myself kind of right in that middle cluster and then it's Justin and Ben. Ben's got a chance but it's a chance.
Grumpy Old Prop: So you're saying there's a chance.
jarrod_dyke: It's like shipping a chair so you got a chance type of thing.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah.
jarrod_dyke: um It looks all for money that Alex is going to be the one that's promoted. So good on Alex. for Well done buddy. He's got 41 and mathematically it's impossible for Franco to catch him. So well done Alex. He's going to be joining division one next year. Would be good to have you up there bud. Franco. Paul, Barty, Anton, Abri, Luke, round out the standings there.
jarrod_dyke: Yeah, Alex just killed it. and He got, because he got first in Premiership and then he got one of the semi -finalists in Super Rugby and that's just, yeah, that really didn't. And plus he obviously participated in the World Cup ones, which helped as well. So any, any once, oh yeah, he won two competitions so far. He's won six nations and he's won, um, Premiership, uh, Superbrew as well.
Grumpy Old Prop: Hmm.
jarrod_dyke: So. When a couple usually gives you a shot, that's for sure.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah, that'll that'll help.
jarrod_dyke: Yeah.
jarrod_dyke: so it was Same idea for George too. he He's won, he won one of the Rugby World Cups, and he won Super Rugby FRD, and he's been in contention for pretty much everything right through.
Grumpy Old Prop: Mm hmm.
jarrod_dyke: Yeah, he hasn't been at the bottom of anything, so that's obviously helpful as well.
Grumpy Old Prop: it is sure let's do it as as they say um so my my picks um i did a split so i'm i i chose emma sing for the semis so she's out for me uh as my kicker so i went with holly aterson duh kind of process of elimination there
jarrod_dyke: Anyway, uh, we want to do PWR picks for the final. All right. So.
jarrod_dyke: Mm -hmm. Mm -hmm. Mm -hmm. Mm -hmm.
jarrod_dyke: Is it, well, is it going to be eight years or is it going to be read?
Grumpy Old Prop: Well, I will have to see. um ah you know Again, this this is subject to change.

Grumpy Old Prop: um And then my forwards, I went on the the Gloucester Harpery side with Alex Matthews since she didn't play. I'm not sure if she's gonna play, but that's again, so yeah, that may end up changing.
jarrod_dyke: I think she's hurt. That might be the answer to that. But I think she's hurt. I don't swear. I won't swear on it. But I think she's hurt.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah, right. um I'm hoping against hope that she plays anyway. um And but my, ah um my back is me event.
jarrod_dyke: Mm hmm.
jarrod_dyke: There you go. Nice. That's a good one. Yeah, I picked her in the semi worked out worked out. Okay, so I am gonna go with um so my kicker, I'm gonna say read, I think I think it's been read for a little bit now.

jarrod_dyke: um But again, subject change, if we find out if other information, otherwise, um I'm gonna go with

jarrod_dyke: I'm torn between Aldecroft and Beckett. It might be a game time decision, but I'm going to go with one of those two. I should have them both available because I picked the Saracens forward and the semi, so it shouldn't be a problem. And then I'm going to pick, uh, Pip Hendy for my back from, from Gloucester.
Grumpy Old Prop: Okay.
jarrod_dyke: I picked Vener one game.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah.
jarrod_dyke: I'm going to pick Hendy this game. Hopefully it's a similar result.
Grumpy Old Prop: yeah
jarrod_dyke: All right. Now let's do a little this or that. And then we have a whole one game to pick and then we're out of here.

jarrod_dyke: This is, that would be the longest though, for sure.

jarrod_dyke: So prop in super rugby final here. It's two on the Fosse and who else? Is it Tava if he's healthy? Is it, um, anybody else? Like.
Grumpy Old Prop: I mean, you might go Reuben. I don't know. It's hard. I think probably stick with the blues, though.
jarrod_dyke: Yeah.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah.
jarrod_dyke: Yeah. I think the answer is tongue of Fosse and Tava if he's healthy. And if not, yeah, like pick your favorite prop. Otherwise, because it's kind of a toss up between the other three probably.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah.

jarrod_dyke: ah If all are healthy, like Yahoo or Rick Itali.

Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah, um, yeah, that's basically like phi um And then maybe whoever the other lock is for the chiefs like and this might be that the chiefs if tui pelaji is not playing It might be both chiefs Yeah Although didn't aqua come off hurt too I thought he exited
jarrod_dyke: Might be the other guy, which was Jimmy Tupo this past weekend, I think, but maybe Akoi, if it's him, that'd be a fun, i'd I'd be okay with that.

Grumpy Old Prop: So I don't know there.
jarrod_dyke: So if yeah, if that's a confirmed concussion, then he's out, so.
Grumpy Old Prop: Right. So that's where I'm nervous about that.
jarrod_dyke: Huh? Yeah, no, I would be too. So the back row is definitely a 2 -2 and it's a TT.
Grumpy Old Prop: Right.
jarrod_dyke: And then it's kind of a toss up at that third spot, like Papa Lee, Jacobson, Finau, maybe Akira, like there's...
Grumpy Old Prop: And then.
Grumpy Old Prop: Akira I would I would I would look for to Akira or Papa Lee over um Jacobson or Feenow myself but Feenow could also like again that that could also be a ah um you know I mean if you know put one down in the semis didn't expect that so it's right so there you go
jarrod_dyke: He did.
jarrod_dyke: Then he got a card too, which was not helpful.
jarrod_dyke: That wasn't helpful.
jarrod_dyke: Um, is there any reason to not pick Cortez Rodimos to assuming he starts?
Grumpy Old Prop: No.
jarrod_dyke: Yeah.
Grumpy Old Prop: Not at all.
jarrod_dyke: I think he'll be, I think he'll be but heavily selected.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah.
Grumpy Old Prop: I'm yeah, I'm kind of happy that I don't have to make that a change there.
jarrod_dyke: No, no, no change required there.
Grumpy Old Prop: That's like my yeah. Yeah.
jarrod_dyke: Yeah. You don't like DMACC the player, but DMACC the fantasy player.
Grumpy Old Prop: Absolutely. Um.
jarrod_dyke: I, you could argue for Harry Plummer the way he's come on and then at the end of the season here. Um, but D max been the most consistent throughout the season that that I don't think there's an argument against that.
Grumpy Old Prop: Right.
jarrod_dyke: But yeah, like, I mean, plumbers got a 22 and 18, uh, you know, a couple of 14 and a 20 in the last couple of games. So he's not awful.
Grumpy Old Prop: Right, it's not terrible.
jarrod_dyke: But without having ah a cap or a team limit, it's kind of hard to just say, no, I'm going to, I'm going to pick plumber over Mackenzie.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah, no.
jarrod_dyke: It's really just one of those things where it's like I'm picking against the, the spread or against the, you know, against everyone else because you want to be contrarian and try and move.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah.
Grumpy Old Prop: right and i'm not gonna probably yeah yeah you kind of like throw a dart um
jarrod_dyke: midfield's probably the most interesting of this whole thing, because the best ones out for a long time has been out for a long time. And the yeah and the so next best one, Luke is also out. So it's ALB and maybe your favorite person after that.
jarrod_dyke: Yeah, Rico's not been amazing this year. So it's hard to say him. If Tupiah starts, I might pick him. Honestly, I'd like to see him start though.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah, it might go both of the, um or Rona maybe if he's at wing, um which would go him.
jarrod_dyke: If he's at wing, that'd be a good one. Yep. I agree with that.
Grumpy Old Prop: So that's that's that's that, that's where I would go there.
jarrod_dyke: Yep. Is it as easy in the back three to just say Clark Tollea and your favorite cheese but back three player?
Grumpy Old Prop: yeah Yes.
jarrod_dyke: Okay.

jarrod_dyke: So assuming after deliberation, yeah, let me know.
Grumpy Old Prop: After, after, hmm, I've come to the the conclusion that yes, that's, that's where you go.
jarrod_dyke: No, Stevenson, no, I was kind of falling off, unfortunately. But um yeah, if Stevenson doesn't get healthy than does seems it seems it.
Grumpy Old Prop: i and I don't know that I would pick him anyway, cause he keeps dropping. It's like the the second time in the, like a third time in the last like four weeks of competition where he's dropped late. I don't know that I would trust him.
jarrod_dyke: Who's your captain?
Grumpy Old Prop: That's a very good question. And right now I don't know.
jarrod_dyke: Hmm.
Grumpy Old Prop: I'm leaning towards the two -two, I think.
jarrod_dyke: Same, same. I had Talia kind of secondary in my brain, but I think the, I think a final lends itself to a forward a little bit more.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah.
jarrod_dyke: So I'm going to say coo two, two.
Grumpy Old Prop: Although I would not um would not sleep on Ratama as an outside option.
jarrod_dyke: No, that's, that's a, that's a, that's a fun option. I don't, I don't hate it. Honestly.
Grumpy Old Prop: because he's a guy who could um just end up going off and he's going to try, like, you know, try without the the card.
jarrod_dyke: Yep.
Grumpy Old Prop: So, um yeah.

jarrod_dyke: But yes, no, definitely not a problem for him with the going faster part.

Grumpy Old Prop: i'm gonna go with the chiefs
jarrod_dyke: You know, I'd like to think that last year's loss gave them some lessons that they can take into this and we'll help them win it. So I am going to give them that. I know it's against the odds because they only just won their first, first super Ruby playoff game on the road last week, but Hey, now they got the momentum.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah.
jarrod_dyke: Maybe they'll figure it out. So yeah, I'd like, I think it'd be great if they could fix the, the wrongs of last year and, and get this one over the line.
Grumpy Old Prop: Would be nice.
jarrod_dyke: Really do really do. Really, really do. And either way, it's a, it's a good story for both, for both teams. Really. We're in Carter coming in his first season and and doing what he did with the blues and blues obviously have had a long, long title drought as well.
Grumpy Old Prop: Mm hmm.
jarrod_dyke: So either way, there's, there's nice stories on either end of it. So, uh, but yeah, I do hope it's the chief said we're able to come over the line and prevail.
Grumpy Old Prop: I mean, you know, might as well, right? They beat, it's like, yeah.
jarrod_dyke: I said for one week to Mitchell, I'm not going to lie. I'm not going to be a liar.
