Burping and Gaming Grievances

00:00:01
Speaker
ah Did you get that? I should have done it right into the pop. he I did. Got it. I can't make my yeah to make myself burp again. i can't. Nope. I've never been able to do that. Let me see. It's a wild.
00:00:15
Speaker
i If I drink some pop, I'd be able to. Finger pop and he shows the assholes. No, no, i hate this game. hate this game. It's terrible. I have to hit my chest to get myself to burp. Yeah.
00:00:28
Speaker
I think I can't burp otherwise. It's real weird. Wait. ah huh I think,

Concept of Guardian Angels

00:00:35
Speaker
no, I can. I've done it a few times, but most of the time I can feel like a little something at the bottom of my throat and I like hit, pound down my chest and then I burp.
00:00:42
Speaker
You gotta burp yourself. I understand. you. I get it. Sometimes. Just burp. Do you do the belly though? It's survivor night. It's the what? Wow. Survivor night.
00:00:53
Speaker
Marion has places to be. well, let's see how many divisions we go on. Divisions? Diversions. Divisions. Did you have choice paralysis with that one?
00:01:04
Speaker
What word you use? I know.
00:01:09
Speaker
All right, welcome to my top everything. I'm Marian. I'm Kara. And I'm Mara. Oh, shit. And we are three childhood best friends who like to argue about anything and everything, see how uncomfortable we can make Other people, ourselves, each other, um are guardian angels, I assume. Yeah. You think your guardian angel is like up there just like cringing yeah about 70% of your life? If they're still with me at this point.
00:01:38
Speaker
I think you'd know if they weren't. Because I'd be dead? You got it. Damn. That reminds me, i used to have, i used to have Marism. Do you remember Marism? It, it was my religion that I made up when I was like 13. And the idea was that when you, and it was supposed to be named after Marian. Yeah. I can see now that kind of sounds like your name. Yeah. Yeah. Marism.
00:02:03
Speaker
I'll admit it. Oh, that's pretty good.
00:02:08
Speaker
And in it, basically, you when you die, you become someone's guardian angel for about, I still think this would kind of make a pretty cool TV show. You become somebody's guardian angel for like, are you okay?
00:02:23
Speaker
Why are you I'm having um problems with my tummy and it hurts a lot or cramps. I don't know what. Something's happening. Continue. Do you want do you need a moment to go get a heat pad or something? should just. okay Yeah. Perf. Anyway, just real quick. ah Basically, you gestate as long as somebody. When you die, somebody else gets pregnant.
00:02:42
Speaker
You gestate up there nine to ten months. while your new body is forming that you'll be put back I remember you talking about so then you guardian angel. That's why certain times in your life, depending on how good or not the guardian angel is, it changes. Because, like, your guardian angel is changing every 9 to 10 months, basically. where Whoa, whoa, whoa. So you're... Yeah, go ahead.
00:03:04
Speaker
Because, like, ah so, like, you're... You die. And then you are that. Whilst you're waiting for your body, you're somebody else's guardian agent? Yeah. Not the mother anything. No, no, no, no. Just a random. You're randomly assigned. You have a random assignment. Wait, I love this. Yeah, this it should be a TV show. TM, TM, TM. Marion's idea.
00:03:24
Speaker
Anyway, um copyright. i But yes. And so you for nine to 10 months, you are in charge. And that's why like sometimes you like have near death experience. but and How have you not written something about this? Because it's like this whole thing. Yeah, I know. So it's a great idea because it would explain why sometimes you have a really good guardian angel. And then also it kind of makes you feel better about trigger warning, like, you know, um pregnancy issues because it's like, oh, that person needed to stay and be a guardian angel for like longer.
00:03:51
Speaker
yeah like you could have i view those as applications of like i would like to i i think i need to be a guardian angel like i need a finish this project basically i'm making sure and so like i'm gonna be up here for a little bit longer yeah find me a new body basically oh yeah yeah i came up with that when i was like 13.
00:04:09
Speaker
The real terrible of the sower of you, dude. Yeah. And so, That's real nice. And that's why people, when they're young, the babies have the memories of the past lives because it hasn't been that long. It's been like nine to 10 months. Also, those stories of those kids who like remember past lives, of the creepy crazy stories. love those. Love, love, love. We'll do top three. Have read whole books on it.
00:04:29
Speaker
Oh, my God. We will do a, can we add to the list top three like weird past life. Yes. Okay. And we can look those up. what Yeah. Yeah. and I'm going to make all mine up.
00:04:41
Speaker
I wonder if I can find the old book. um When I was little, i used to tell my mom that I chose her. and Oh, yeah, you did. Yeah. She told me all the time how creepy it was. Yeah. See, exactly. And that works with the theory. Like, you have to choose, like, maybe a person. Like, maybe you get a little book.
00:04:57
Speaker
when you first die and they're like, where do you want, here's your options based on something. Like maybe your last guardian angel performance. They're like, here's your options of where you get to end up. Yeah, you start off with a performance review. Yeah.
00:05:13
Speaker
And then also in Marism, there was this whole thing where, um, like negotiations were huge. So if I was a guardian angel and I, you needed to make sure that your person didn't die, you were also a guardian angel.
00:05:26
Speaker
Thanks for yawning during this. Anyway, no, I'm supposed to know. Um, basically like you might say, Hey, my person's gonna like need to find their keys or else they're die. Can you like make sure that your person is late for work?
00:05:45
Speaker
And so there's like negotiations coming around and that's why sometimes things don't work out because your guardian angel is constantly working against a clock of like everybody else's negotiations. And it's like basically like, um, wall street yeah with the trading and everything. Everybody's trying to like,
00:06:01
Speaker
I don't feel like we should put this on a podcast because you need to write something about this. Like, this is so good. Anyway, that's the one word world building I've ever

Summer Activities and Hobbies

00:06:10
Speaker
done. Yeah. Yeah. I'm not really a fantasy person, so.
00:06:14
Speaker
It's awesome. Anyway, why did we get this subject? I have no idea. Anyway, we're going to do our top three summer activities. Oh, my God.
00:06:26
Speaker
I'm sure everybody was waiting for the top three summer activities as we get here. We're going to post this one next. um Right around the corner. i Who wants to start? i i will. Okay.
00:06:40
Speaker
I will just see this one. i put as my third because um it's still a new hobby, but um my wood carving. And so I'm really excited to finally get to do it outside instead of inside. Yes.
00:06:53
Speaker
It's a bit of a mess inside, but ah whatever. Yeah. Make it a mess downtown. Carving fast. Getting stabbed.
00:07:05
Speaker
Every time. Yeah. Vara and I have carved together twice and twice she has cut herself. Okay, but I've only with you. Actually, four times. yeah You have cut yourself four times in the two times we've carved together. i Oh.
00:07:19
Speaker
Yeah, but i'm only in your presence. I got an idea. We make Mara carve in grocery stores. And when she hurts herself, we see. Oh my God, love it.
00:07:31
Speaker
ah I won't have to try hard. That's a reference to an episode that probably hasn't come out yet. Yeah. Based on the order of how we're going to put. yeah. Look for that later. little appetizer. Okay. That's a good one. yeah, my dad just sharpened my knives as well and gave me his little whetstone that he, quote, brought to the marriage.
00:07:50
Speaker
And I'm like, are you sure I can have your dowry, dad? Yeah.
00:07:55
Speaker
it's mine yeah but yeah i like that thank you i also have my dad's dowry what's that his oxford sweater i was gonna say his sweater yeah i heard it on your lips yeah from uh the the summer they met in oxford he's wow yeah and one time he didn't want to let me have it and i was like what like you're not gonna wear it again and so now i have it i left it if you weren't it Oh, all the time. Oh, yeah. Yeah, I love it. But not not lately because I've been in LA.
00:08:25
Speaker
but And I have it in there. It's just it is wool. So it has to be cold enough that I can feel like wearing a layer underneath it. Yeah. I don't usually wear it just on its own. Yeah.
00:08:40
Speaker
I'll go next. Thank My number three summer activity is food, just all food related during the summer. Like whether that's like you drive to Iowa and you have a corn stand, you're gardening, you're grilling, like all the fresh. This is too general.
00:08:57
Speaker
Too general? and For me and my list, but... Am in captioning? fine right now. Okay. Just don't say any other food related things other than the ones you said. Okay. I can scrap one because you said grilling. Okay, great.
00:09:09
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Specifically grilling, um like outdoor party. I'm thinking very specific summer activities. Like ah top three summer activity for grilling would be somebody invited you. You brought a trapped fruit maybe to it. You don't have to do the actual grilling. Yes. Drinks.
00:09:30
Speaker
There's enough chairs for everyone. Somebody's got music blasting and you've you've done the bare minimum. Yep. The sun is shining. Somebody's dog is there, but just one.
00:09:41
Speaker
Just one. Yeah. This the top three summer activity. Oh, and there are bags. If there's not bags, I'm not there. Wow. Cornhole, for those of you that call it that. Haven't converted to the Minnesota way. Where is Bags from? Minnesota. And Cornhole is? Everywhere else.
00:10:01
Speaker
Everywhere else. I like think that Bags makes more sense. I like Cornhole better. Where does Cornhole come from? Update. Where does Cornhole come from? I think they would throw Kernels. No, not kernels.
00:10:13
Speaker
After you eat... Cobbs? Cobbs. Oh, okay. This is really interesting. I don't know that any of that's true. i don't It is. I don't know. This is a guess. This idiom origins. It is true. My mom grew up on a farm and her brothers and sisters would have like snowball fights, but with like the cobs or the colonels after they've been processed. They would just chuck it at each other.
00:10:36
Speaker
that. So yeah. But what were the holes? What was the cornhole? Chuck's mouth? I don't know. Maybe tires? This is an update. Yeah. You make this an update? Where do cornholes come from?
00:10:47
Speaker
Where do cornholes come from? Anyway. Okay. That's a good number three. Do you have more to say about your whole all-encompassing fucking... I did until you started yelling at me. You're just over here grilling. Corn stand. What was the other one?
00:11:01
Speaker
Gardening. Gardening. All the fresh food. Oh, you said gardening? So many experiences all once. What the fuck? You didn't stick with just food? How'd I black out for gardening? Marion already started know her faces at that point. My faces? She can't even see my face when I'm but doing a face at you. um What face am I doing right now, Mara?
00:11:18
Speaker
Is it right? This is great listening. Yeah, actually. Audio medium.
00:11:27
Speaker
I laughed so hard I just tooted. My, oh oh. I thought your whole thing was. It's like me playing card games. the no The picnic where one dog is there. that's hers. She was expanding. Oh my God, that's not your number three? Well, I was saying that that, yeah what is going to be my number three, but then she took it. Yeah, so okay.
00:11:46
Speaker
do you have another number? I'm just kidding. What? ah My ah real number three is is ah my birthday camping trip. Yeah. My annual birthday trip.
00:11:59
Speaker
Huge top three summer activity for me. Big one. Don't like when I can't do it that year. Yeah. Poo poo. Not good. If I'm not sitting in a hammock or on a canoe or something like that on my birthday, I'm i'm losing it.
00:12:17
Speaker
You know? Yeah. Yeah. um Yeah, it's took it's taken us a lot of really cool places and like a bunch of experiences that like, yeah, are have been insane. Yeah, we should probably do a top three my birthdays. No podcast.
00:12:29
Speaker
ah Yeah, top three trips. Like group trips. Yeah. Okay, very specific group trips to the three of us. Now, my list encompasses one of them so for today right now. oh Oh, you did a very specific.
00:12:43
Speaker
Yeah, I went broad to specific how I did this. had all the summer food and now one specific memory. Yes. You'll see. what You go. ah My number two is inspired by today's weather.

Weather and Seasonal Joys

00:12:56
Speaker
um I'm sitting in, it I love sitting in a cozy chair. i have a cat on my lap.
00:13:01
Speaker
I'm either listening to a book or I'm reading a book or I'm coloring or I'm drawing. I'm doing something that's like pleasant to me. And I'm just listening to it rain. I'm listening to a good summer thunderstorm. This is a really good one. This is definitely going on the big list. This is really good. Can't believe I didn't think of it. I missed that so much when I didn't live in the Midwest. Like thunderstorms were probably the number one thing I missed.
00:13:24
Speaker
So this is great. I would say autumn, fall, like a true fall, like Midwest autumn and then thunderstorms. Like I was so excited to come back for the thunderstorms specifically. And then it had been thunderstorming like all month before I got here. Do you remember that? Yes. Stop. Yes. When I got here and it hasn't really started. We've had like one thunderstorm, like one actual bona fide thunderstorm. it was like meh like remember when i was training or training when i was studying for aicp in may the whole month of may it blacked out multiple times because thunderstorms were so intense that the like network kept going yeah like they were really intense last year and then you came and they all went away yeah yeah and so i'm like worried june we better have some real june gloom we will and there better be lot of thunderstorms i'm looking for
00:14:12
Speaker
like a torrential for the weekend we're camping. yeah Yeah. Yeah. one of my favorite stories that my dad has, I knocked on wood. and Explicitly reached over to the stool where Mike's are.
00:14:26
Speaker
He built behind you to bend over. Okay. Um, am keeping this in. built behind you want to bend over okay um i am keeping all and
00:14:38
Speaker
Your man made you a frame. You got a knock on it. She made us a frame. Yeah, in like five minutes. Yeah, it's impressive. Yeah, you're an impressive producer. i i'mmpressed God, shut up. We get it.
00:14:51
Speaker
One of my favorite stories from my dad is he lived in California for 10 years. And he the first time that he was back, he moved back. And then he was sitting in um and in the house after a thunderstorm or during thunderstorm.
00:15:03
Speaker
And he went outside and he opened the garage door and he just watched the storm by himself, like sitting in a lawn chair. And he just watched the whole storm. And it's one of the like most endearing stories where i'm like, oh, that's like so...
00:15:14
Speaker
That sounds nice. Classic Midwest, you know? And so, like, wholesome and, like, you, like, doing you. Yeah. Like, being so comforted. The smell. this The cool air. breeze. Yes. My windows are open right now.
00:15:26
Speaker
The sounds. Yeah. I've been loving the past three days of just, even though it hasn't been thunderstorms, the fact that we've been having, like, three straight days of just... We got some good thunder and lightning last night. Yeah. Yeah. But when I was a kid, I used to wrap myself in the sheet and over and over. Like I would basically start on one end and I would roll and I called it making my taco because I was scared of thunderstorms at the time and I would put myself in a taco.
00:15:48
Speaker
You wouldn't put yourself in a burrito? You put yourself in a... That's not what young Kara said. Adult Kara would say burrito. Young Kara said taco for some reason. Oh, so young Kara was dumb. She hadn't met you yet.
00:16:01
Speaker
You said she hadn't met you yet? Yeah. Yeah. So she became smart when she met me? Yeah, compliment. Oh, I thought... Why'd you say it like an insult? It did sound like an insult. Oh,
00:16:12
Speaker
oh you make me smarter. Unfortunately... unfortunately What's your number two summer activity? My number two summer activity is um I'm not a very I'm also not somebody that sits still very often and like wants to like sit around a dinner table and just talk. But one of my favorite things is sitting on a summer patio in the shade specifically, but it's warm enough that the shade's not cold. And you're playing a very kind of mindless game like gin or backgammon or something like that. And you're just having like a cold beverage and there's maybe some live music and you're just like sitting on a patio.
00:16:45
Speaker
Yeah. period And I normally like if you did that in the winter, I'd be like, I can't fucking be here. Like, I want to sit here and like drink at a table. Yeah. The outside. Good to go. That is true about you. Yeah.
00:16:56
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. It is. not Go to a bar and just be like, let's sit here. Yeah. It's got to be the outside, the sun, your sunset and yeah people. Yeah. Even the nighttime on a patio is so nice. With the twin twinkling lights. It's good. Yeah.
00:17:12
Speaker
good My number two, I'm really warring with what to put number two versus number one. Because they're very close to me, but I think I have to keep my number one. So think I think my number two final answer.
00:17:29
Speaker
Thanks for waiting. Yes. On tenterhooks. Walking in a sundress. Sun's out, guns out. Uh-huh. Buns out. Uh-huh. you're like,
00:17:41
Speaker
I could go for a cheeky little ice cream right now. i almost put this. and you just you just find the nearest ice cream to walk yeah You get your ice cream. Now you're walking with your ice cream.
00:17:53
Speaker
That fucking slaps. It does. that oh my God. That is a top summer activity. Sex is good and all, but this? Yes, but have you ever just kind of... One for a little cheeky ice cream. Yes.
00:18:07
Speaker
That's why Como was so good. I remember one time you and I were at Como. We were walking around. I still remember that ice cream. Yes, me too. The chocolate like chili. Yeah. ah It had chili. It was chocolate ice cream. My mouth's watering. With like...
00:18:20
Speaker
brownies inside and cayenne pepper. It was so good. is back when I could have spice and not cry about it. When you want to wimp it. Every year I'm like, are they going to bring it back? Why did they bring it back? Why wasn't that the most popular thing that's ever been made? Yeah, there is a place in town that kind of makes...
00:18:38
Speaker
The place that used to be there for the ice cream buying purposes still kind of makes that flavor in the summer. Yeah, it's just like the chewy the chewy brownie, the texture, flavor. Anyway, I just remember us being like, should we get an ice cream? And then, yeah. You and I are never going to say That's true. We're never going be like, I don't want an ice cream.
00:18:57
Speaker
I will say that something that always drove me crazy was when we would go on trips and ah you guys would want to stop at like fudge shops and spend an hour looking at fudge. And I don't eat sweets, so I just sit outside just waiting. Love a fudge. yeah but that's Or like a dipped apple, whatever the sweet thing was. Caramel apples. That's all like more of a fall activity in my mind though. That's very fall to go to yeah the chocolate shop and spend like a good amount of time. Yeah, I prefer the ice cream though because I can a I can do that. I like it. We've done it before. I remember a conversation we were having once and we went to the millet crepe place the Crepe and spoon the vegan ice cream place that is no longer
00:19:38
Speaker
alive Do do do. Yeah. Yeah. Do do do. Yeah. But there is a new place there now that um does look it's like a they got a baked potato bar. i thought you're gonna say ice cream. Is this by Hi Hi?
00:19:52
Speaker
Baked potato ice cream would be crazy. Yeah. I think I like it. Okay. But sour cream flavor. Butter, movie popcorn butter, that's been a flavor at Menchie's, which is a frozen yogurt. Yeah.
00:20:04
Speaker
Well, that's like the jelly bean. Jelly Belly did that first. Buttered popcorn jelly beans. They were my favorite as a child. Crazy. I will say, yes. What if you mixed like mashed potato with sour cream and froze that? That was ice cream.
00:20:18
Speaker
A pierogi. Sprinkle, cheese, bacon and stuff on top. That's your baked potato ice cream. Mama's coming.
00:20:30
Speaker
So the reason why it was almost my number one is because I don't think it hits. I was thinking, well, you can do the ice cream sundress spontaneous activity on vacation.
00:20:42
Speaker
yeah I don't think it hits as hard. There's something about a mundane day when you're like, let me go enjoy being outside. yes And it like the serotonin of it just hits way harder than like any other time of the year when you might do that yeah and so like on vacation you're kind of expecting it you kind of had like treats or whatever and you're like i want another treat but like this one is just it's peak summer to me that's why i almost put it as my number one because i was like it hits different yeah this time of year it does it's amazing that's a good one shall we go to our sponsors did you do your number two
00:21:18
Speaker
Oh, yeah. i The thunderstorms. Oh, right, right, right. We talked about that for so long. I thought that was number three. Yep. Yeah. We'd be crazy today. Yeah. do do do do so You're going to be able to remember the music someday to that.
00:21:33
Speaker
And it's intentional. Is it? well Yeah. That you don't remember it? I mess it up intentionally. You got it that time. Yeah. But I did the, it was flat. No. Hmm.
00:21:45
Speaker
I meant yeah anyway. Well, if people oh yeah, your stomach the I feel like um one of our I'm sorry. I'm sorry about your stomach. Thank you. Yeah. What the hell?
00:21:58
Speaker
I think it is it's going to affect Survivor. ah So that's where my mind i went. I said, oh my God, wow she's not going to be able to watch Survivor. We all have different priorities. Kara's over here on not shutting up about her stomach pains.
00:22:12
Speaker
Marian and her survivor little tidbit and both twice just for the record you mentioned survivor i mentioned my tummy yeah yeah what about it's my it's three things it's a book my farming game and my bedtime so Yeah.
00:22:29
Speaker
and What book? Oh. Hey, have you read Haunting Adeline? Yes. Of course I have. It's fucked up I stayed up until five o'clock. I'm reading it the other day. And I was like, did you read Haunting Adeline? Yeah.
00:22:45
Speaker
Was it worth it? I i don't remember. i think it's probably not anyway. um Oh, I was going to our number three sponsor today is when you're playing like volleyball or some sort of backyard game with your friends and then it goes over the fence and then your neighbor just pops it back on. Oh, yeah. Oh, cool. Yeah, that's a good one. good I wish that would happen when I'm playing fetch with Bandy. I wish somebody would pop it back. Yeah, I hate that to go over there and get it. Come on, Richard. What are you? 88? You can't go and get a ball? Boy's 80. Yeah. Oh, wow.
00:23:15
Speaker
Spry. though he He is a spry 80-year-old. He is very spry. out Richard. He was so sweet the other day. He raked all of his little leaves over to me when I was filling my raised beds. And he sat out there for like two hours with me to talk to me. Wow. He was like two birds, one stone. Loneliness. And I get rid of my trash. Exactly. And he under he could hear me that day. He could understand me and it was so exciting.
00:23:36
Speaker
That's clutch. yeah He has a little sled where he he takes out to get his stuff from his car, like his groceries. He puts it in the sled and then he has to take it up his backyard. It's very cute. Anyway, our second sponsor is ah Schools for creating summer breaks, the American school system. Great job.
00:23:53
Speaker
Really, that was the farming industry because he needed labor in the Yeah. Well, that's our number one sponsor. That's what was going to say. Big ag. Let's go. Big agriculture. Small ag. Because you need people. big And also ah corn.
00:24:07
Speaker
Corn from Iowa yeah is a sponsor here. If you'd like to sponsor us, go ahead and hit us up at mytopeverything at gmail. Nope. Mytopeverythingpodcast.com.
00:24:18
Speaker
See, it's important. I tested you at gmail.com. Don't add the I tested you part. That's not part of the address. Let me say it again just one more time. My top everything podcast at gmail.com. That's the right one. Nailed it.
00:24:31
Speaker
Good job. chair First try all by yourself.
00:24:38
Speaker
Mara, what's your number one top three summer activity? Thank you so much, Marion, for asking. ah My number one summer activity is going to art fairs or markets, like farmer's markets and stuff, and like where I just get to walk around and browse and meander and talk to friends and, most importantly, buy things.
00:24:57
Speaker
Yeah. That's important. And it's expected and it's nice. And you get to see the price ahead of time. Oh, yeah. You're supporting local. You're supporting local food and art. I get to talk to the artist yeah about like I've learned so many things about just getting the opportunity to talk to artists and because they're usually excited about their work. Yeah. So, yeah, they're always excited about their work.
00:25:18
Speaker
Yeah. And you're excited to hear them. I am. You're a very rare bird in that. I'll listen. Hashtag never forget the time that Mara. at ah You know what I'm going to say? Yeah. No. can i I need to. I'm going to write it down.
00:25:32
Speaker
know what you're going to say. You don't know. i don't. I mean, there's no. The very bottom. Yeah. Oh, shit. at The time that Mara saw, um ah what was it?
00:25:46
Speaker
A miniature feng shui session at a craft market. Yeah, Kara wasn't there about the story. And she got so excited and she went up to talk to the lady about miniature feng shui sessions, thinking that the lady was talking about literally rearranging her miniatures. Yeah.
00:26:05
Speaker
in her house like in my defense like dollhouse level like dollhouse level like little stool little magnet spoons rock spoon she's like oh somebody's gonna come in tell me where i should place and display these things they didn't realize it took a while too not like 10 seconds like took a way too far along we were in the middle of a we were having a four i looked at all the other booths came back around about the time when mara realized oh she just meant like a short session where we talk about feng shui yeah she'll just come to your house and one room
00:26:42
Speaker
for me that's like who is mara as a person That is the story I would tell. I'm crying. so mad I wasn't there. Oh, that was good. Yeah, I still think about her. Yeah.
00:26:54
Speaker
I wonder what she's up to. wonder if she thinks about you. In my defense, though, she did have this, like little mirror. Yeah, she had a model to show you her feng shui skills. And it was outside tiny things.
00:27:09
Speaker
Man, gonna give this woman a shout out. You guys should use her. You know what, though? That is a career. Hey, can we do a topic that's top three made up careers? i am 100% putting miniature dollhouse feng shui. Can you put that in the notes? Because I'm going to have to go back. But like, yes, to be feng shui artist for miniature dollhouses, I would do that.
00:27:31
Speaker
That sounds amazing. That's God. That's the dream. All right. Kara, I believe it's your turn to do your number one. I'm going to paint a picture.
00:27:43
Speaker
i can't. I'm not over it.
00:27:45
Speaker
I can't believe I forgot that. I think about it a lot, actually. I'm really worried you're about to do my number one. and It might be. um So we yeah, I'm pretty sure it is. do you want to say it?
00:27:59
Speaker
Wait, is this specific? Yeah. Oh, no. No. for Marion's birthday trips, we do a different place and a so usually like a traveling sort of event.
00:28:10
Speaker
And one year we did a canoe trip for on the Mississippi. And it was all flooded. And we were like, you know, we had that was a great two canoes yeah and a kayak. And we were camping down the river. And the best part about river canoeing is that you don't have to fucking paddle if you don't want to. So at one point, we linked all of the canoes and the kayaks together. And it was sunny. And it was the right amount of warm. And the water was just a little bit chilly if you put your foot in, you know, while you're dipping downstream.
00:28:38
Speaker
And we and we I think you took a nap, Mary It was my birthday. It was my actual day of birth. And so, yeah, at that point I said, I kind of like a nap. And so and it was before it was kind of before as well that I learned I don't have to do everything all the time or participate in everything all the time. So it was a big gift to be like, I don't have to worry about holding anything together. I don't have to worry about making sure we don't run into a bank.

Canoe Trip Memories

00:29:01
Speaker
I'm just gonna lay down in the sun maybe with my toe in the water like outside the canoe I don't remember but I remember napping yeah it was amazing and I think I was in the back of one of them and I would just dip my paddle in every once in a while to steer but it was so gentle that I didn't really have to pay attention either and I was just vibing no one was really talking no no we were just we were just banded together we banded all three together yeah that was a good moment of silence if I have to say so it was shit bucket in the river I did almost say like just being around water.
00:29:34
Speaker
That's my, my number one is very close and it's the combination of water, sun book. yeah Yeah. Water sun book. Yep. Need, i there's no better feeling, no better summer activity than me than when I get out of water. I've just been swimming, exerted myself a little bit.
00:29:52
Speaker
My body's like kind of cold from the water. The water needs to be a little chilly. And I lay out, the sun's starting to dry me and i get this feeling across my stomach that's like so content and peaceful. And it's like the best feeling in the world. Turns out that that's just how neurotypical people feel on a regular day. yeah So I thought that this was a feeling legit.
00:30:14
Speaker
I thought this was a feeling in my stomach and my gut that I could only get two ways. One of two ways, one swimming and then laying out in the sun and literally drying sleep. um rubbing my stomach sometimes really lightly while I'm supine can also create that sensation.
00:30:31
Speaker
When I first went on Lexapro, after six weeks, I said, my fucking God, this is how a stomach normally feels. And was like, that like that sensation is all the time.
00:30:43
Speaker
Not in pain, just not... tense and nervous. I don't know how to explain it. To me, it's the best sensation in the world, but I did not know that that was just how your stomach's supposed to normally feel. But is it a lack of bad feeling or is there a positive feeling?
00:30:56
Speaker
There's a positive feeling. It feels relaxed and like kind of tingly and like solid, very solid. Yeah, it feels like um like glimmery sensation to me. Yeah, but it it turned out you can have that all the time.
00:31:09
Speaker
Yeah, isn't it crazy what you learn? But I still think it hits best. It still hits best. Even now on the meds, it hits best when we've got the sun and the and the water and and a book, a good book.
00:31:24
Speaker
And then you fall asleep. oh You fall asleep and you have like your music in and then you wake up and you're hot again, so you go back in the water. The double dip is good.
00:31:36
Speaker
This one did almost make my list, but then I was like, surely. I felt like it had to be my number one because I'm probably like the big water person here. I love to get in into if there's a body of water, I want to be in it. New water. Who does?
00:31:50
Speaker
Doesn't matter the time of year, the temperature, whatever. I'm like interested in being in the water. So i was like, I can't not put it as my number one. Yeah. I'm also amphibious, but I need a, I need a UV shirt before I experience that. Yeah, girl, same.
00:32:07
Speaker
All right, let's make our list.
00:32:11
Speaker
I feel like we had a lot of good ones. yeah year We have a list of nine. Thunderstorms. Oh, yeah. Thunderstorms for sure. yeah Can you name? Can you just go through them? um Thunderstorms, wood carving and going to art fairs. Yes.
00:32:26
Speaker
Tiny feng shui. I'm going to say no to the art fairs just the feng shui wasn't in the summer. Yeah. It was in the fall. Are we sure? Yeah. It was after I came back. We are. It's either September or October.
00:32:38
Speaker
Senior senior summer see the summers hey you're getting thunderstorms for sure yeah that's a guarantee thank you that's probably i don't need art fairs is like for me yeah i like that activity but yes okay i just think art fairs i have enough stories of yeah non-summer art fairs with you that's okay okay including the feng shui it's art fairs generally not our personal summer Like you most art fairs are in the summer. Correct.
00:33:09
Speaker
So yeah, that one was a tiny one. I don't want it on the list. I feel like I'm defending it. What are yours? Yeah. Mine were a birthday camping trips, walking in a sundress with ice creams. Yeah.
00:33:23
Speaker
yeah one those on there Water sun
00:33:28
Speaker
yeah I like the first two you said. Yeah. Your birthday trips. Because ah Kara also, but like a specific. Yes, exactly. Yeah. Yeah. Compass is mine. I have patio sitting and then food.
00:33:39
Speaker
So I think sundress ice cream is the lowest. And then book water. What?
00:33:48
Speaker
No. My God. What are you saying? And then thunderstorm is number one. Thunderstorm is number one. And then I think um the summer ice cream sundress should be number two. Whoa.
00:34:00
Speaker
I think so as well. Whoa. I almost put it as an number one, but was like, that's not truthful to me. Yeah. Yeah. That's not truthful to me, but I do think it is like peak because also the thing is I can do water sun book not in summer.
00:34:12
Speaker
Yeah. And be OK. Like I can be on vacation. That's why that's why I was in between them, because I was vacation walk ice cream does not hit the way regular summer vacation or summer walk ice cream hit. Yeah. Like it's something about the summertime.
00:34:26
Speaker
That's fair. But I'm thinking longevity. The ice cream sundress is like max 40 minutes before the ice cream is about to melt. And then with the summer book swimming situation, it's it can be a whole day.
00:34:37
Speaker
Could be an afternoon. Could be the whole weekend. There's a longevity there.
00:34:46
Speaker
I'm I'm beaten out. But what about camping trips? Birthday camping trip? Oh, right. I said that was number three. Number three? And that beats out summer book.
00:34:59
Speaker
Water summer book. i think Water summer book's not on the list. Water sun book, I think, is not on the list because water sun book can happen anywhere outside of summer.
00:35:11
Speaker
My birthday camping trip can't happen outside of summer. That's very specific. Same with art fairs. okay And thunderstorms can happen outside summer, but thunder summer thunderstorms? Yeah, they're better than any other thunderstorm. You get tornadoes.
00:35:28
Speaker
My favorite is when the sky turns like green or purple. And you really get that feeling ahead of time. or like ah I love driving through them. I know it's not safe. I love driving through them. I love the flooding in Des Moines.
00:35:40
Speaker
I was talking about, I miss the flooding. I miss when you go down the floor and you're like... I know you're not going to like that one, but no, I don't disagree. It is interesting because the river central summer. Yeah. And it feels, yeah, it feels like nature's like, yeah. I'm showing you up, taking over again.
00:35:55
Speaker
Okay. so then that means ice creams too. Yeah. Okay. Unless you think birthday camping trip goes before. I do, but I don't think I enjoy the ice cream sundress as much as you two. I agree with that. yeah Kara's list, slightly different than our wait list. No, it's a joint list. That's the whole point.
00:36:11
Speaker
All right, well. Kara's outvoted. Correct. I lost. And none of mine are on there. A birthday camping trip, frankly.
