Transcript

Speaker: Aloha and welcome to our first opponent preview of the 2026 season. Iowa o Joe and Mike, we are back and the pack is back, we hope. yeah Joe is working on our over-unders, you know, was we joke all the time. We're figuring out again how to restart our ability to run this show. This is our first opponent preview, so we're getting we're hitting the ground running and expect the unexpected tonight.

Speaker: Yeah, we're just going to run with that for now. Packers are facing off. Yeah, if can figure things out. Like number lock. Nah, kidding. I've been there before. um The Packers are facing off against the Vikings in Minnesota this weekend. um

Speaker: I guess we'll just do our usual. oh Packers. Yeah, we haven't done this for a while, so we've got to figure out how we're doing things. Yep, Packers injury report. Okay, so I see in a lot of people, I even made a joke about how it's longer than you'd like to see, but when you pare it down, so there are one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, eight guys on the injury report today for the Packers. Not great, but also you have to take into consideration that of those eight, one two, three, eight, eight report today for Packers.

Speaker: Five are relatively to be expected on that list. because Those being Bakuboele with the knee, Banks with the knee, Brinson with the calf, Hargrave with the knee, and Wyatt with his ankle. So of those guys, Brinson was injured um in late in the preseason before the Denver game. And they said that his week one status was always a little iffy. um Meanwhile, um Bakubo LA, Banks, well, Bakubo LA, Wyatt were both coming off of season-ending injuries in 2025. So the the listed injuries they've got are, you know, management of their existing injuries from the previous seasons. And then...

Speaker: Banks and Hargrave both open um training camp on PUP, so their inclusion on the injury report shouldn't be ah any sort of surprise. I don't want to say any sort of surprise, but shouldn't get the same consternation because we should expect that they're going to be listed due to some kind of snap management, yada, yada, yada.

Speaker: The other three, not so hot. Teron Hopper with an Achilles, ugh. Jordan Morgan with the knee, Baron Sorrell with the foot. Morgan and Sorrell were limited participants. Hopper was but the second DNP after Brinson.

Speaker: Hopper's injury is out of nowhere. And not great when you consider that they're relying on him to be able to be rotated in on defense.

Speaker: you know depending on personnel packages that sort of thing probably on a limited basis but you know hoppers made some plays as recently as the playoff game you know catching the duck that he did but it was still an interception and not great that morgan and sorel are starting off their you know what should be what we're all hoping are breakout seasons with limited participations that said This is one of those points where I always do wonder who or what would be listed on an injury report if they did preseason injury reports. You know, is this something that not ideal either, but maybe they've been dealing with for a couple of weeks kind of thing.

Speaker: It just does look odd because we heard nothing of Sorrell and Morgan dealing with issues until literally today's injury report. But the one really good piece of news, Javon Bullard not listed on the injury report at all after missing you know all almost all of preseason due to the...

Speaker: toe turf issue or bruised toe. um So good to see him not listed. And then on the Vikings side, it's three backups.

Speaker: Jacob Thomas, Jacoby Thomas, and Caleb Tiernan. Guys who are probably going to be some level of ah inactive or deep, deep reserve. So pretty healthy opening for the Vikings.

Speaker: And like I said, The only ones really catching my eye are Morgan, Hopper, and Sorrell. um Otherwise, I think the other five guys are more to be expected. But Joe, anything else that you, any other thoughts you have on the injury report?

Speaker: The Vikings need to come up with different players than Jacob and Kobe Thomas. Doesn't help that they both play safety as well. That's it's not even it's not even the receiver one and the DB one. Yeah.

Speaker: Because when I was originally going, I can't remember who posted it originally, but I was going through it and i was like, did somebody make a mistake here that they they put the guy on there twice for two different reasons or whatever?

Speaker: Um... I think he pretty much said it. The Hopper Morgan one are not good. Brinson has been out for a while. Hargrave has been out for a while. Devante White has been out for a while.

Speaker: Bako Buwele has been out for a while. um I wonder if the Hargrave one is more I'm old. I'm going to probably be limited a limited participant for 90% of the season. um Maybe the same.

Speaker: I think Bako Buwele is going to be the same way throughout the whole year. that Even if he does play, and he said he's going to play 100% of the game um Sunday, and he expects to play it full.

Speaker: uh full tilt but even if he does that for the rest of the year he's still going to show up on the injury report as limited i think last year it was a common thing for you to say that the packers have really gotten conservative with the way they've made the injury reports just because they don't want to have a falcon situation end up and they get in trouble for

Speaker: for mislabeling something or not putting somebody on ah report when he should have been. so overall, I don't think it's anything major.

Speaker: I'm not, the Morgan one is a bit of a concern just because, like you said, this should be his breakout season and we're already dealing with some kind of ticky-tacky thing. But if I remember right, he was kind of dinged up through preseason a bit, too. Yeah, now that you kind of talked through it, I remember there was the, I think it was a week ago where it was like, oh god, he got hurt kind of thing, so, Yeah.

Speaker: So that could just be precautionary for him. But I don't figure maybe Brinson misses and maybe Harper, Harper misses.

Speaker: But I think the rest of them should pretty much be a go. i Banks, I'm not even going to guess on him because i who knows? Overall, I'm not overly worried.

Speaker: The one other note to make up about Wednesday's practice is it was a full padded practice. So even more so for the guys who are dealing with any sort of thing to be listed as limited, you know, it's And especially there's no different like full participant means you absolutely did everything. Limited means like, oh, he sat out like a few snaps. It's like you're limited kind of thing and stuff. So yeah, that's really where the situation is at. But and and like I said, kind of joke with the Hargrave thing being old and we're going to limit you anyway.

Speaker: They're they're going to put that on the injury report. So you're going to see that. So I imagine um I'm surprised, the one surprise on here is Tucker, that he's not even listed on any kind of injury report. And I know he hasn't been injured per se for this year, but a lot of times they limit those guys. my bad.

Speaker: yeah my best No, see, this is we're not even in mid-season form yet, so we're we're still working our way through. I'm used to being in by myself. Mike's used to being by himself. We're trying to get back into the swing of this.

Speaker: But yeah, all I was going to build off on your point is, it is interesting because Tucker is in a similar boat to Bokobu LA and Wyatt where season was ended by injury.

Speaker: Their limit, and understandably, they're both listed as limited, but like you said, Tucker is just full go kind of thing. Like, It's a good sign. It's a good sign. And it does corroborate. he He was the one who went down first, but also his injury hypothetically has a longer recovery period than Wyatt's does. But, you know, to each their own. Who really knows? and Who knows? So true. I said this last episode that...

Speaker: I'm still kind of not understanding a little bit that. I mean, I understand they play different positions, but we're talking Micah's not going to be back until probably week five, week six.

Speaker: But yet Pat Mahomes is back and is going to probably start week one for the Chiefs. Micah got hurt um before Pat Mahomes went down, but yet Pat Mahomes is able to return quicker, I don't understand the situation.

Speaker: yeah I mean, not that I don't understand the situation. Again, I understand they play different positions, but it's just weird that same injury, same type of crap, because I think they said that Pat Mahomes damaged his LCL and MCL.

Speaker: Yeah. and And then remembering that, right? Nope, that's correct. And um his playing in week one will be exactly nine months from when he was injured.

Speaker: So whereas with Micah, we're looking at in 11 months, isn't it? I think it's closer to 10, but also I know he had surgery later, whereas Mahomes had his surgery the day after. i do think Micah technically, not technically, I think he had the surgery couple weeks after, but don't quote me on that just yet. Um...

Speaker: But we don't need to spend too much time the injury. No, my whole point was is the the injury thoughts are weird because of positional value, positional... So it's hard to know what who's hurt or who's not hurt just because of conservative and because differences in injuries.

Speaker: oh and Yes, okay, so here it is for whatever it's worth Micah got his reconstructive surgery done on December 29 so literally two weeks later than Mahomes did so you know go so each it goes but Different positions different stresses on the knee and all that kind of stuff um Mahomes had ACL LCL Parsons had meniscus and ACL cleanup and repair so yeah That's how it goes, but we don't need to pair any more time ah on the injury report. You know, again, as we joke all the time, we're making extrapolations based off of one day of practice. There are two more plus the injury designations ahead of the game. So lot of time for these guys. And, you know it's a long four days until Sunday by the time you're listening to or.

Speaker: three days until Sunday by the time you're listening to this so I know the math isn't math in right now but the Packers are facing the Vikings on Minnesota side they declared not only that Kyler Murray is QB one but that Carson Wentz is QB two um otherwise their depth chart it's kind of falling the same that you'd expect it to be as it was last season um Big changes are obviously Kyler Murray at quarterback.

Speaker: Jawan Jenning takes over at the wide receiver three for Naylor. And new center. And I think the other four linemen are the same starters. So um and at at the same time.

Speaker: Just like the Packers have O-line questions, the Vikings have O-line questions as well because you're introducing a new center. um Is Donovan Jackson going to take a second year step? Will Fries?

Speaker: so many jokes to make there and then the tackles o'neal was up and down last season and darasaw was kind of a shell of himself so the vikings are hoping that you know the extra year off the acl repair will be a boon for christian darasaw but uh initial thoughts on the the vikings offense against our packers defense

Speaker: I've said this the last couple times, the couple episodes, I don't trust Kyler. Um, I, I've never been a Kyler believer even going into that draft. I understand he's, he was a quote unquote electric player, but you know, there's a big difference in being an electric player in college and being a, uh, uh, full on star in, in the NFL.

Speaker: ah the Just going off offense, the big question is how is... I'm not worried so much about the pass rush. I think, like you said, they have just as much issues with their offensive line as the Packers may be having right now.

Speaker: And they've had issues with their offensive line for years that they can never seem to get worked out. So I'm not so much worried about the pass rush. It's this secondary with Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison.

Speaker: you're Obviously the depth chart for the Packers came out and Brandon Cissé is going to be one of your starting quarters. I think they have him listed CB2, but in all reality, he's probably going to be CB1 no matter what.

Speaker: um it this is going to be his first time seeing any major action against major contributors. I know we had a little bit of stuff going on in preseason, but you know, this is going to be where you make your money because regular season means you have to play your A game.

Speaker: Um, So the big question is is, this secondary going to be able to handle these two guys? No matter who's throwing the ball, you know, you can argue that Justin Jefferson can make a quarterback just because as long as you get the ball anywhere in his general vicinity, he's going to make a play on it.

Speaker: Uh, Addison, maybe not there on the level of a Jefferson, but still is a dangerous enough weapon. Hawkinson, we'll see how he's doing, but I think injuries and old man, uh, uh, old age is starting to creep in on him, even though he's not really old, but you know, ah injuries tend to quicken the aging process, so to say. so but so

Speaker: I'm not, again, I'm not sold on Kyler. I'm definitely not sold on Carson Wentz. He has not been a key quarterback since, what, his last year in Philly?

Speaker: I don't even think he had very good years in in Indianapolis. I am questioning why he's QB, too. when you know are they just finally giving up on jj mccarthy and you know calling it quits if so why not try it i mean get whatever you can out of them even if it's like a conditional sixth and say you know sorry for messing up your friggin ah messing you up by overdrafting you and putting too much pressure on you but you know i i don't know it's kind of weird that they have him down at qb3 right now

Speaker: You're muted. Whatever you think the Vikings offense is going to be is whatever your level of belief in Kyler is. And if I'm with you. I've never really been a Kyler believer just because I don't think his style of play is conducive for long-term success because it's a lot of off-script stuff. His size really does impede him, especially in an offense that... like two foot tall.

Speaker: That Okano likes to run where it's all about, you know, get the ball out at the top of your drop timing and all that kind of stuff. That's just not how Kyler plays and it'll be really interesting. You know, i we say all this and he's probably going to have like 400 all-purpose yards against the Packers and there's... there's a definitive chance of the Packers being in general disarray against him because it is you know it is tough to have that much skill talent to have to cover on the back end and then also have to worry about a quarterback who can just run for 150 yards if you're not careful with them kind of thing so you know I don't know a Joe Barry led Packers defense held him in pretty good check down in Arizona a few years back

Speaker: Or a Shavinck joke, just send him the ah just send him some stim packs on ah on whatever Call of Duty version he's on right now. so Yeah, I've been making that for a while too.

Speaker: Call of Duty.

Speaker: It it the the hope that you you know, in terms of like just scouting the opponent is like they don't figure it out for another couple of weeks. You know, it it takes O'Connell and Murray to get some traction. You're able as the Packers to take advantage of that for week one.

Speaker: and then as we've joked whether it's the new cod release coming out within another month or so or the fact that he's probably getting injured by the time you face off again you're not gonna see him the second time these two teams play for one reason or another but um just well i have to ask this has anybody pulled the jamarcus russell trick on him yet

Speaker: where they give him an empty playbook, tell him go home and study the playbook, and then the next day ask him what they learned from the playbook. Yeah, it's the whole, um, did you see the elephant in the back of the play experiment? And I, I never really paid that much attention. I thought there were rumors that there were something along the lines of the Jamarcus Russell test, but, you know I haven't known whether those are fully substantiated or not, but...

Speaker: Just, you it's one of those where Ganon has spoken about how they're going to be multiple, they're going to disguise, all these kind of things. They've got to be disciplined. You're going have to read your keys, stay in your gaps, all the, all the like, boring parts of football. You're going to have to do all those because...

Speaker: Don't let the game be easy to Kyler this week like that's the big thing is like make him have to work make him have to go to through his progressions Sure, like Jefferson is just going to be open a few times and stuff But that's where you have your safeties who will hopefully be able to range over and assist on those kind of plays and I'm hoping they'll be able to trick him into a couple of mistakes. And if you do get them, unlike the 25 Packers, catch the freaking ball this time. Like, that's going to be as big of a key for this defense as, like, even last year where, you know, some of Halfley's stuff seemed to get a little stale or, like, we were kind of

Speaker: um scratching our heads or pulling our hair out a little bit they did have their opportunities to flip fields or make big plays and they just didn't do it consistently enough it felt like maybe they were turning a corner in the playoff game and then they just fell off a cliff in the second half of that game so um get off on the right 24x back out there i know so um get Get back on your horses, you guys. Make the plays that are available to you and you know take full advantage of the opportunities at your feet.

Speaker: Anything else you wanted to say about either the Packers' defense or the Vikings' offense? It's just so hard when it's week one and like we don't know. It is. Yeah. I mean, you got Aaron Jones who, again, is starting to creep up on him.

Speaker: ah We don't know how much... how he's going to do. i don't ever wish anything bad on Aaron Jones because I've always liked Aaron. um And, i ah you know, they're going to get their yardage. But i'm the one thing that i want people to remember is yes, Gannon knows Kyler.

Speaker: And Gannon probably knows what rattles Kyler. It's whether or not the players on his side of the ball can execute what is going to rattle Kyler. Again, I'm not really overly concerned with the pass rush just because i don't think their offensive line is going to hold up that well.

Speaker: But as long as Ganon can goad Kyler into mistakes, Kyler's going to make them. I think my big thing, too, that I want to see a change from Barry Halfley is, like...

Speaker: being Having a plan for the mobile quarterback, but not calling looking like you're afraid of the mobile quarterback, if that makes sense. because Nothing but soft zone. Soft zone. And then like the mush rush that's not even... a like it's Calling it a mush rush is being very... very um What's it called? Complimentary. You know, like when we played Hertz a couple years ago in Philly in the playoffs and it was like, you know, Rashawn had that one sack, but it took him two days to get it because he was kind of like holding contain, holding contain. And it was like, oh, he's kind of coming my way. I guess I'll grab him kind of thing. So yeah, like, you know, respect him, but have some aggression, you know, in how you attack him and stuff. So um have a plan, but have some aggression with that plan.

Speaker: So we don't get hung up on any of these topics. um Packers offense against the Vikings defense. So the Vikings, obviously the big news is Harrison Smith came back um to no surprise of anyone on the Packers if you're to believe LeFleur. Honestly, like,

Speaker: I'm not surprised it happened. The only reason it kind of could surprise people is they did give him, like, a full-on send-off at the end of last season. Like, they took him out of the game against the Packers and let him have, like, the the walk... You know, the the standing ovation walk-off at the end of the game in Week 18.

Speaker: But, um... Especially the money they gave him where he can earn up to, like, $20 or $30 million on one year. It's no real surprise that he's back. And, um...

Speaker: I don't know whether to feel better or worse about it because it's like, oh, like he's back. But also like, are you guys that desperate that you had to talk Smith into coming back? And then it gets into the whole. will answer that one.

Speaker: I think they are because I'm looking at their depth chart. They've got a rookie at their left corner. They've got, ah i don't know who James Pierre is.

Speaker: Spree agent, came from Pittsburgh. Okay, they've got him listed as corner, the other corner. And they've got Byron Murphy at nickel. And then they've got Metellus at safe the other safe spot. So I think they needed somebody veteran-wise to run that secondary room. I mean, don't get me wrong. Charles Demings, you know, j a friend of the show, J.J. Leahy and Jake Schvink were all over.

Speaker: Charles Demings loved him. I'm not saying he's a bad player, but I'm pretty sure he was a late-round pick. And he's your starting corner one of your starting corners. You've got James Pierre as your other starting corner. And like I said, I didn't even know who he was. Mike knew a little bit.

Speaker: He's on the level of like St. Juice. like's He's that kind of player where like some of the advanced stats really like him, but not a full-time player. He's like a rotational DB kind of player, not like a relied-upon starter volume in terms of snaps played or anything like that.

Speaker: And then you've got Byron Murphy at nickel who probably as a nickelback is probably a solid pick ah or pick up solid player, but you don't really want to see him on the boundary because I don't think he's going to give you much on the boundary.

Speaker: His career exists because he can play well in... um in Flores' scheme. If he, because he was awful in Arizona. So, yeah he he was... Foot speed.

Speaker: I remember that. he He didn't have the foot speed to keep up, or at least the quickness. But then you look at their... they uh the the second stringers on their depth chart and they're even lesser names than james pierre in my mind i mean i'm not saying they're lesser players i'm just saying that i don't know them so i i can't comment on them because they're relatively unknown so their secondary is very very much lacking so i imagine the harrison smith thing is hey

Speaker: We need you one more time just because we've got a bunch of guys that probably don't know what the hell they're doing. So we need you to guide them. Yep, exactly. So, um you know, the Packers also have O-line questions. But if you can hold up against this front, which is breaking in a lot of new players, um You know, Jalen Redmond is a returner, had a really good season last year, but I don't think he was the full-time starter last season. He was more of a...

Speaker: you know like a Carl Brooks level rotational player and so how does he do with the increased snap load you know being relied on as a true starter this season um can't tell you I've ever heard of Levi Drake Rodriguez that feels like his name came out of a random name generator in NCAA football um when you just fill names for the guys and then I brought it up when I was on um Derailed yesterday, but Caleb Banks and Dominique Orange, the two rookies, the reports coming out of Vikings camp on Banks are not good.

Speaker: And with Orange, I can't tell if they really are as smitten with him as they say they are, or if they're trying to buttress his play up because...

Speaker: Banks has been so disappointing overall. And I know this is not like strength on weakness or anything, but if the Packers can get any sort of traction from especially their interior O-line, they should be able to crease the Vikings defensive front a little bit on the ground. And, you know, at least...

Speaker: diminish the weird things that Flores wants to do with his back seven to muck up the game and make you know and and really mess things up for LaFleur and Love on a down-to-down basis. So being able to get movement in the ground game is going to be big. um This is where having a health...

Speaker: Bakubo Ale is as healthy as he says he is and You know, we we were on this show a couple weeks ago and we were like, oh god Why did you know? Why did he answer the question like that where he literally turns away from the camera and is like hold on let me let me formulate a response that won't cause mass hysteria and panic and then proceeded to give one that didn't create create mass hysteria and panic but created some hysteria and panic Today it was a much different um answer where he's like, oh no, I fully expect to be elite when i'm um when I really get my feet under me. I expect to be out there and start and play all the snaps on Sunday. So like much different, no hesitation, no like twitch, no stutter in his response. Very assertive, so good to hear from him. Obviously we'll need to see it on the field of play. um

Speaker: But yeah, and then even on the edges, you know, they have Dallas Turner who everyone says, like, he's figuring it out, he's figuring it out. Okay, but Grenard's not there. um You know, you don't have some other depth pieces who are there. And then Van Ginkle, I think, is coming off an injury last season.

Speaker: um So yeah, like, just... questions a little bit on on the defensive front seven and um if you can just create some movement for your guys um really get the ball rolling between the tackles that'll make jordan's life so much easier but also if you can control the line of scrimmage as you were just pointing out there's a secondary that you can potentially take advantage of on the back end and I'm hoping that Jordan will have time to test how up to speed Harrison Smith is You know like obviously don't you know don't go so full stupid or anything like that But see if he can range over from deep coverage to the other side of the field and stuff like that um See if these corners can hold up in man or you know match man zone or whatever um

Speaker: But you've got to be able to control the line of scrimmage. And it's such a near hypocrisy to say the Packers should have an advantage there. But with even with all their questions up front, you combine LeFleur's ability to create a good pass protection scheme for a game-to-game basis with...

Speaker: All the questions Minnesota has on their front seven and it's like they should be able to do some stuff but remains to be seen if they do if the Packers do have a good game that will answer a lot of questions going forward and if they don't.

Speaker: it'll take a few weeks to find out is it a florist thing or is it they're just not that good up front so you know not to overreact in either direction but if they have a good game i think that's a bigger sign of potential future outcomes than if they have a bad game because like i said hostile environment floors is the opposing coordinator there's a you're you're growing upstream ah against a lot of flow so um anything on your mind for our offense against their defense um i mean

Speaker: no i pretty much covered it their secondary is not anything to inspire anything yet uh I do find it interesting that Eric Wilson is starting over Jake Golday, so that shows that Golday maybe not be ready to start.

Speaker: Either that or this is the old, well, you need to earn your starting spot and you haven't earned it type thing. And i don't know if I agree with that. If he played well enough in the frigging preseason and he outplayed somebody, he outplayed them, then you need to give them a little bit more than what they are.

Speaker: Uh, but other than that, no, i think I Caleb banks, I loved Caleb banks, but we all knew the issue was the injuries.

Speaker: And I think that's what they're starting to find out. Weren't you the one that had like Sharif Floyd, uh, mentions after the, they drafted him.

Speaker: you muted again part helmet scouting part yeah like they're just concerns of how his fit in the nfl is so yeah that was my comp for him and the irony that he was another Vikings flame out. um But we'll see. Yeah, like you said, we're not going to know until they start playing the games between the lines. So lot of stuff for the Packers to keep an eye on. But there's an avenue for them. There's a definitive avenue for the Packers to have success in this game on offense. And

Speaker: Fans of either team non-teams in this game should not be surprised if the Packers do find success on offense um against a Flores defense. This Flores defense, I should say.

Speaker: Alright, well, I know we both had this as a win in our season projection. um So far, you know, the Morgan thing isn't great, but as we both kind of mentioned, he did get dinged up last week in practice. So if this is just a carryover from that. You just hope that it's not something that bogs him this week too much this week and then throughout the season.

Speaker: But moving on, let's get to our over-unders. Lead us off, Joe. yeah I changed one real quick.

Speaker: um So like I was telling Mike before I came up with all these, oh it's hard to come up with a lot of them just because um it being week one. So we have no thing to bounce off from the previous week.

Speaker: So these are just a lot of off the top of my head type deals. So first one I got up is Marshawn Lloyd over under 50 and a half rushing yards.

Speaker: ah I'm going to say over. It's probably not going to be much over. ah just because I have a feeling it's going to be that whole running back by committee type deal, and and they're not going to want to overdo the Marshawn Lloyd stuff, so it's probably going to be more like a 55, 60-ish rushing yards.

Speaker: um And you know Matt LaFleur loves to run the ball no matter what. So, ah yeah, that's what I got on that one I had under just slightly. I had him at like 45. Similar thinking that it's going to be kind of by committee. i think he might have one quote unquote explosive, but um I do think like it's going to take him a couple more weeks to like really get the rust off not playing for two seasons. um and So it'll take him a little time to get a um to get fully integrated into the scheme. But hey, here's hoping that he does bust a really long run. it

Speaker: Blows my over under thoughts out of the water. And I do want to say this. The official Packers depth chart came out and they had Chris Brooks listed at number two and Caleb Johnson as number three. And people are completely overblowing. And it's like, guys, they're going to do that just because of the simple fact that Caleb Johnson just showed up

Speaker: There's no doubts in my mind that he is number three just because he just showed... This is like Malik a couple years ago. You know, he just showed up. He's just learning things.

Speaker: You got to kind of settle down a little bit on that. Yep. Nothing to see here. The next one I got, again, top of my head, just kind of throwing stuff out there.

Speaker: Lucas Van Ness over under half a sack.

Speaker: I got under just because i think if anyone's getting s sacks, it'll I think Lucas will be flushing him into other sacks, if that makes sense. So, yeah.

Speaker: I'm going to go that he gets the sack. And mainly because we've seen that he's played running quarterbacks a little bit better than most.

Speaker: um You know, I mean, he's been able to chase down, like, Caleb willow Williams and shit like that. So I don't think he's going to have too much problems with Tyler.

Speaker: So I'm going to give him the sack, and and hopefully there's more. I'll give him the sack. You kind of added this one, I'll let you go ahead.

Speaker: Okay, so this one is just, um you know, building off Bakubule's comments after practice today. Will he play 100% of, like, the important snaps in the game? You know, if the Packers are winning, like, comfortably late or the Vikings are up a bunch late, he's not going to play all the snaps. But while the game is in question, is he going to play all the, you know, important steps snaps of the game? I say yes, um given what he said today. What do you got?

Speaker: Yeah, I mean, I got to go by what he's saying. So, you know, I don't want to put any bad juju out there. So I'm going to say yes on that one. um Just because, you know,

Speaker: If a guy's telling me he's going to go out and play 100% of the snaps, and the only time I'm going to doubt it is if we get to like the 90-minute mark before the game when they release their ah inactives and it says he's inactive, then I'm probably going to believe he's not going to play 100% of the so uh going by that i'm going to say he's going to go for it uh so the next one i got on the list is jordan love over under one and a half touchdowns i am going to put the caveat this is passing touchdown this isn't combined so he's not going to be able to rush for one or at least um i'm going to go over i got him going for at least two me too if they're going win they're going need him to get more than two maybe even three

Speaker: Right. And, you know, I i just hope you kind of hope that it's under just because you hope the defense is contributing, you know, some kind of takeaway. You're hoping the run game's, you know, really picking up. You're hoping that eventually one of his LeFleur's called,

Speaker: of I just blanked on it, um Jet sweeps, there we go, ah works, and you you kind of hope that he goes under just because of those.

Speaker: But then again, on the other hand, I hope that they actually realize they need to work the offense through Jordan Love and not through a run game like iowa used to tend to do and just run, run, pass, run, run, pass.

Speaker: So I do have him over on that one. My next one, again, this one's just kind of toss out there. Just maybe if we say the right things, it'll give him the right go for it.

Speaker: Cissé over under a half a pass up, pass block. I was going to say a saying pass up block. Pass block.

Speaker: I'll say, yeah, he's going to get a pass breakup of some sort. Yeah, I got it too. I originally had it set for one and a half. i was like, no, that might be a little bit too generous on on my part. But I do think he's going to get the one.

Speaker: um Hopefully it comes early so it gives him a little bit of confidence boost and he can really work off of that one. um I probably should have changed just because we're agreeing on Too many of them.

Speaker: um So my next one is I got... Does Matthew Golden get his first regular season touchdown? I've got yes. And you know what? that That comment about us agreeing, I think it's because you picked so many for the vibes kind of ones. So this is definitely one of those. But also, as we were kind of talking about the Jordan one where it's like... Like you said, it's not even so much that it's like...

Speaker: every other part of the game is struggling that if he needs to throw three touchdowns but it's like we want to see them loosen up the defense by doing that more it's more than more than thinking like it's acceptable or it's doable to keep banging your head against the proverbial wall and um you know we talked about inexperienced secondary golden looks so crisp and good in the preseason really seems to have built on you know the highlights of his rookie season and based on all accounts, seems to have worked out a lot of the mental mistakes he was making over the course of his rookie season. So um it would be a big step forward to him. And just to get the monkey off his back of like, oh, he still doesn't have a regular set. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just go get one. Get two, in fact, Golden. Like, make make those comments go away.

Speaker: I've said it before and I'll say it again. Because of the simple fact that I was able to predict him being the Packers first round pick in 2025, I will be a ride and die until he gives me reason not to be.

Speaker: So I'm going yes. I'm hoping, and I know I've been saying hope a lot lately, but I'm hoping What's going to happen is we have kind of a mirror image of Christian Watson's rookie year where they played Minnesota in the first game and we see Matthew Golden go deep and he beats his man deep, but only this time Love completes the pass to Golden for the touchdown and not Watson dropped the ball and missed the touchdown.

Speaker: So I'm hoping it's going to be a deep pass, first play of the game. Touchdown, Matthew Golden.

Speaker: Last one on the list is, i don't know, this one i put out there just because of the weirdness that he's not listed at all on the injury report. and not that because of the injury, but because of him coming back from his last year's Tucker Kraft, over under, 25 half seconds.

Speaker: I got him over. um think the only way he goes under is if we just play at such a weirdly, absurdly low pace pace of play. And then he's just playing less than half of our offensive snaps and stuff. So, you know, on average, a team's going to play 50 to 60 offensive snaps. So...

Speaker: um I've got him over and like by a decent margin. Like you said, the fact that he's not listed on the injury report and it just does seem like he's been ramping up, ramping up, ramping up over the past three weeks. So I've got him pretty comfortably over there.

Speaker: Okay, i probably should change the number, but I'm going under for it, and this is why I'm going to say under. Not because he's on any kind of pitch count, not because anything like that.

Speaker: What I'm going to say is because of Jonu Smith, because of Redmond and all that, they're going to try doing a heavy rotation just so they don't overdo it with Tucker Craft.

Speaker: Because you don't want to over... I mean, technically it would be kind of a pitch count for him then, but you don't want to overdo it for Tucker. So, you know, even though it was a late round pick, you did trade for Redmond.

Speaker: You brought Jonu in. So you've got three guys right there that... deserve snaps and i could see them having a heavy rotation which we haven't seen a heavy rotation for tight ends in a while in Green Bay.

Speaker: Even when Musgraves was healthy you really didn't see him because they couldn't trust Musgraves. you know hopefully Janu's And Redmond are getting ingratiated into the offense, and they can have a heavy rotation with tight ends and give you more of a a web set of weapons out on the field.

Speaker: Yep. Like you said, um differentiating big between like pitch count because he's coming back from injury and pitch count of like the old, do you really want you know Aaron Jones getting you know having to carry the ball 30 times in September kind of thing, as opposed to like let's get him 20 touches all all season, and then in the playoffs you can give him 30 touches kind of thing. So it like that that whole mindset of like you need Kraft for December, January, February hype, Hypothetically, hopefully. So that that approach of things.

Speaker: That's gotten us through all our overs, unders. Joe, you got any final thoughts on the game before we close this one out?

Speaker: of Are we taking bets on whether or not the Vikings are going to steal the... Viking fans are going to steal that row thing that the Gopher fans did?

Speaker: No.

Speaker: Other than that, you know, it should be a good game on way or the other. i hate that it's in Minnesota because we're going hear nothing but that stupid-ass friggin'. And I hate saying that because I am of Scandinavian descent.

Speaker: I am a big believer in Norse stuff. I love Norse mythology. I love the Norse culture and all that. And I hate calling it a stupid-ass horn.

Speaker: But when you... yeah i I've, when you take that thing and you just overdo it and, and ruin it, you piss me off. So yes, we're going to get that annoying ass sound constantly.

Speaker: And yeah, I think that's the only thing that's going to bug me about. Did they even say who our commentators are this week? Uh, hold on. Let me try to look at once.

Speaker: And are we the second game or are we the first game? I didn't even attention to that. We're the we're the the second slot because we're okay we are the... We honestly might be that the... um We might be the the the top broadcast team because it's that weird... um What's it called?

Speaker: We're that weird NFC-NFC game that is... um the We're the NFC-NFC game that's being broadcast on CBS.

Speaker: So...

Speaker: Well, I just remember I saw the map and it was, you know, the in area game was like half the United States or three, four of the United States. I'll be honest. I have not been thinking of the game too much.

Speaker: Galaxy Con in Des Moines is this weekend. Also, i got a ticket to go up to Galaxy Con on Saturday. and I paid my money. I'm going to meet Hayden Christensen. So my thoughts have been kind of elsewhere and yeah.

Speaker: Yeah, we have Nance and Watt this week, so got the top CBS crew.

Speaker: Okay. All right, well, we're going to sign off. Let Joe continue packing for GalaxyCon. We hope that you have a safe... Oh, it's much of a pack. It's only an hour and a half drive. I just got to make sure.
