Speaker: You know what? I was going to go over somewhere. It probably wasn't going to work out too well for me, so I'm going to stop right there. I do appreciate, though, how you have now made it into a picture where it fits in the four box. instead of having to throw you up in the main box.

Speaker: I appreciate you doing that, my friend. That being said, Marr is with him at Honorable Sports. The reason that I have Marr down there, though, with... uh the man beside him high take jake is because We've got a crucial.

Speaker: crucial NFL matchup. And I wanted the two that were going to go head to head. to be beside each other, but that does not mean that Wild Card Mark. It is not. on the Audible Sports, or on the IOW Sports Network.

Speaker: My friend, how are you today? Amen. You know. always a blessing to be with some of my favorite people talking sports talking one of my favorite you know sports topics, things like that.

Speaker: and i got air in my lungs fellas i'm alive i don't care It's good. Always a pleasure to be with y 'all fellas, man. Y 'all know what it is. Y 'all can find me, IOW Sports.

You feel me? And, of course, every Tuesday with my man Chris Stile and Uncle Clarence because we be on the Arrowhead podcast talking about the...

Speaker: BITCH! in the AFC West. Oh, no, no, no. See, I was very nice the first time I said those names. Just in case there were some little kids watching. or any younger audience, shout -out to ULHead1109. We appreciate you tuning in. Shout -out to Canteen. Check out the Bottom Line Sports.

Speaker: on Facebook. and youtube but anyways Uh... Don't worry. The name I have for you later will be a lot. worse than the one I'm saying on the first few minutes when my mother could be watching. That being said.

Speaker: My man Martin is all over everywhere. He does. More shows. than a lot of most people that I know. So y 'all catch him. Very good content creator. And also. My partner on total evisceration.

Speaker: whooping his ass. Most of these weeks, I've given him a break for about a month now. But I'm going to get back to whooping that ass this week. But this man goes by the name of Hot Take Jake is all he spits.

Speaker: his hot takes whether that is for good or for bad as everybody on this panel knows Hot take, Jake. How you doing, brother? Man, I'm good. I don't know why you're saying they're hot takes. They end up being smart as hell. Don't do that.

Speaker: But don't worry. I can see the fear right now on Marr's face. I know he has the glasses on. Sweats rolling down his head I can see piss rolling down his leg. He knows it's Denver Bronco week. It's a good... Week. Hey, football's back, man. Are we not excited?

Speaker: We're less than 48 hours away. from the first NFL game. I'm ready. I'm so ready. College already gave us a great weekend. Yeti did. Yes, sir. Wow. And that is, you know, see.

Speaker: I love when I work with my partners, my brothers that I usually work with, and I'm glad I got Mar there on the right side now below his. uh audible sports partner but it's because i always have good segues that I don't even need to bring up the next topic because you know what? There were so many people last week.

Speaker: He hauling. Jabber jawing. about How bad this week was going to be in college football. Oh, it's gone. Everybody playing little pushovers again now. They're getting rid of all the power conference games. They grant it.

Speaker: We did have a lot less. than normal. Power Conference matchup today. Athletic did a report. I think they had four less matchups this year, and it's going to be even less, two more less next year, down to like one. next year i believe so they really either need to fix this problem Ew.

Speaker: Just hope that the parody from the NIL. the parody. from the transfer portal. allows these These teams that they are... You know. trying to bury. actually whipped up.

Speaker: like North Dakota State from a, you know. football. bold subdivision that comes up so Look! Oh, I know. is you are completely right. that tuned that turned out to be an amazing amazing weekend. Oh.

Speaker: college football, and we're going to talk about it. I'll take... mention Colorado going to beat Texas Tech. We'll see what happens there. Maybe he might have to admit to that later, Canteen. But

Speaker: Please get his ass. He mentioned Deion Sanders is a top five. College coach, did you say this, I take Jake? Did you say Deion Sanders was the top? Absolutely, and I plan to stand on it. this whole year and what we've seen Not true at all.

Speaker: But you can go ahead and defend your team. With the players he has, he's overachieving. Don't do that. You better stop hating, Omar. Remember that. Anybody want to take this for a little warm -up action?

Speaker: No. No I know how What makes Deanna a top five coach?

Speaker: Well, Colorado practically can't buy The damn bananas at my local grocery store right now because of how cheap those guys are. And this guy is trying to do anything with it. trash cans around them. after he brought his poor son to outshine the damn conference. or the damn team.

Speaker: They practically give them, uh... just practically Ed from the local state farm. and just trying anything they can with him. Poor guy's over there doing it by himself, out -coaching his best right now, Bobby G. Did you not see that game?

Speaker: That game mentioned that we won. Well, maybe if they didn't spend so much money on... 17 ,000 uniform combinations. They have some damn NILs to get some players and they play some football. Sack a second off. second off if he stopped trying to be so much Like Michael Jordan, see Michael Jordan's downfall as an owner. was he kept hiring his friends.

Speaker: Yeah, Warren Sapp is a great player. A defensive coach, you are not, sir. Stop hiring your friends. Get a real coaching staff in there. Let's get some real players. Let's care less about how pretty we look like. Wesley, and white man can't jump.

Speaker: Let's get some Billy Hoyles in there. and win some damn football games. See, it's easy to beat up on them. Also, Rance, that you play, but every time they play a real team, they get smoked. Top five motivator.

Speaker: He is a top five coach. He is not. All right. hey only time will heal the wound you see what happens I got the one he entered.

Speaker: He injured himself when he first came in. You can't come in showing nepotism. You can't come in bringing in your son, making him the starting quarterback with zero competition from anybody else.

Speaker: You've got to come in and treat the team like a team. This college football, you're supposed to... uh keep what you kill but he didn't let anybody try and kill anything he handed The war was the fall.

Speaker: Like that's not good coaching right there Let me tell you something man Good. Go ahead, Omar. Go ahead. No, no, finish. What were you going to say? Well, all I was going to say was... The one thing you gotta understand is Deion And next. the colorado What was he doing at Jackson State he made them better within what two years he made them great The fact that Colorado is struggling right now is more to the fact that the athletic director is not giving him money to spend. better players.

Speaker: They should be in the forefront of the panhandle. trying to afford these players. especially during the NIL. especially during the transfer portal. And they're not doing any of that for him.

Speaker: Again. again if you stop asking nike for new pants and say hey don't give us these pants How about you give that money to Darren Mensah because he's in the portal. maybe he would have went to colorado over miami but no we handed the man Okay, we don't care about you. We don't need uniforms over here We got history.

Speaker: Spending money. Are you a hurricane fan? Yeah. I'll do that with that man. Y 'all might have a bad year. You get ready for that one. That's going to be a letdown.

Speaker: That's wild. Our bad year is Colorado's national championship. Haha! Yeah, you better cheer. You I'll go ahead and say it right now. Colorado wins the Big 12 this year.

Speaker: Palo Alto wins the Big 12 this year. That's wild, bro. Who's in it? Oh, I was going to say that. Don't say that. There they do.

Speaker: And that is why we call him J .J. Come on, come here, Mar. I'm going to leave and come back because I can't hear Mar at all. No, no. What I'm going to say... This is A.

Speaker: I'm not going to say too much on this. All I'm saying is I'm a big fan of Prime, always been a big fan of Prime. But he got to win. Point blank, period. he came He came into the NCAA with... Guns blazing. Did his thing at Jackson State, which was good. It was cool. It's on a different level, all right? It's on a different level.

Speaker: But Dean... Once you get to Colorado. Like, it started off good. It was all hype. Got that TCU game. Travis got the diving interception. Your door was looking cool.

Speaker: And then the wheels of the wagon fell off nearly in like four weeks, four weeks later. Like, and it was bad after that. Now, he did have a bounce pass season last year. It was a solid season last year.

Speaker: Because he had to. His second year wasn't too great. So. What he's given us in Colorado has kind of been a mixed bag. There's been some things to cheer for, but it's also been... Like Bobby said, there's some missteps. I mean he's had top recruits leave him. like the left tackle, Seaton. Hey.

Speaker: Just dipped. He's like, nah, man, I'll just go to LSU. You know, he was over there doing the Young Miami with all my scamming with his little chick, you know, buying bags, getting Goyard bags, getting scammed by her, you know. But whatever.

Speaker: Brown got a win. prom gotta win like like I... I wouldn't say he's on the hot seat because he's brought so much financially to Colorado. I was about to say, please don't do that.

Speaker: I'm not saying that. I think they'll give him grace. You got to start like you've been there three, four years, my man. Like you got to start at least pointing the arrow. to the upwards. You got to. And if we're not showing signs of...

Speaker: continuous uptrack, then... As much as I love Prime, man, I can't. Can't throw you no bail if you ain't winning.

Speaker: Can't throw you no pill if you ain't in it. And that's pretty much the facts right about it right there. I said this on, I don't remember whose show it was. when at one of the shows i was watching on youtube and they were talking about this And I said, if you are moving.

Speaker: and moving so many pieces around. You're getting new transfers every year. You're getting new coaches every year. You're not keeping any continuity. within your program. you're going to have trouble. getting getting footing and building a sustainable winning culture.

Speaker: So... i think it really comes down to him needing to be able uh A little bit of what both of you and Bobby G said is... Bye. keeping continuity among the team.

Speaker: and starting to get better players. but also keeping those players so that it will allow you to win because that's the bottom line in sports. is winning and if he doesn't win he can't be a top five coach and he's definitely not a top five coach because there's Oh, no, I'm... That's right. Look at me. I'm the captain now. That's what he gets for talking shit about.

Speaker: That's what he gets for talking shit on Prime. I am the captain now. Ain't that about a... Hey, did you just get zapped, bud?

Speaker: No, I was like, I was getting really adamant. And I had a little speckle of spit on my laptop and I went to wipe it off. and he just like swiped me back he bit the back button you got him real quick Ask. Oh, man, that's great. But anyway, so... yeah my point was that winning is what will make you a top five coach winning cures all ills

Speaker: And you do that from continuity. So, y 'all, you just saw a little argument there. That was a little warm -up. Thank you for the question, can't team. Shout out to Bottom Line Sports. But on this show, we're going to. give points to arguments. So I asked my panel, And this one doesn't count. This is just a warm -up.

Speaker: But who would have had the best argument here, Jake? Who would you have thought? And you can't pick yourself, remember. I already put myself, you punk. But you can't. I know.

Speaker: I think Bobby G made some good points. I'll give them that. But I'm a little mad about it. I appreciate you, sir. now it was definitely bobby it was just uh you know uh Hey.

Speaker: dead. that. friends can always bring you success. You got to actually be a coach. Yeah. And if I was scoring that, I would as well.

Speaker: uh give that to bobby g for a very astute uh you know the description of the problem that was happening now mar ended up putting the nail in the coffin with the winning because that's really all that matters uh so i would also uh normally as i give him a point as well i think jake you suck you will get no points on that. But, uh... You know... And I don't even know where he went now talking about I got zapped. You got zapped.

Speaker: But anyways... That's how this show is going to work. Everybody, you are going to have... We're going to talk about some different topics here. Score those topics. And then we will go on into our game picks and we will end with a Jeopardy style trivia. So I hope you're looking forward to it. Let's.

Speaker: kick this bad boy off, shall we? all right first of all first topic is the best It's usually, hold on, I should say college, not NFL. That's what it's normally going to say when we have both.

Speaker: All right, college football best. games of The weekend. So we're going to go around the horn. Everybody's going to give. Their best game, favorite game of the weekend. Give a little.

Speaker: explanation why that was and uh and we'll go from there by the way update 7 -0 SMU over Florida State in an Atlantic. Coast Conference matchup.

Speaker: on ESPN that just started SMU to an early. Lead. That being said... I take Jake since we just... made fun of you we will let you go first i'm sure i already know where you're going With this,

Speaker: But surprise me. I'm actually going to surprise you. I could go home. Talk about my longhorns, how beautiful it looked. But I'm actually going to go somewhere where I think this team...

Speaker: has to start fresh and early fast because they lost early and it hurt them at the end of the year when it was the time to make the playoffs. Notre Dame showed up and showed out. Remember last year they lost to Miami with that shit at the early of the season.

Speaker: You couldn't do it again this year. You could tell how serious he was with his boys. He told his boys, Hey guys, this isn't easy no more. We can't just have these mediocre wins, especially because they aren't in a conference right now. They needed this win.

Speaker: And Wisconsin is not a team to sleep on. But boy, oh boy, 41 to 13 really shows you. that they are ready and willing. Love the new hair. Well, I love that hair coat. for Notre Dame. He's a fucking fighter. You can tell he really wants it.

Speaker: And I think this team is going to be serious to deal with this whole entire season. In fact, I'm worried about Arch when Arch got to see him in that championship. Got to film. Gotta film. Mhm.

Speaker: I mean look, it was a slow start. It's the first game, though. So you got to understand that you may be a little rusty, right? You haven't played real games yet. So, you know, at halftime we do know it was only 13 -10. low -scoring game. But yeah, in the second half that came out, laid 28 to nothing.

Speaker: On Wisconsin. you know they played mistake free football uh which is the most important part We knew Notre Dame's defense. was going to be stout after being ninth.

Speaker: in yards allowed per game last year. So. We'll see what happens, but it was a good start. Does anybody have anything on that game they want to add? Real quick, CJ Carr, the way they're making him play.

Speaker: i think they're gonna let i love what you just said they're gonna rely on the defense and they're going to let him play protected football. I like that. Game manager. Game manager. Love it.

Speaker: Anyone else on the Notre Dame -Wisconsin game? Uh, I love the jerseys for the Shamrock Series. Marcus Freeman, love. Love what he's done.

Speaker: since he's taken over. I'm Brian Kelly. My only knock on I got with Marcus Freeman is you need to hang with more black folks because. eat some money Somebody need to tell me that. and your hairline that thick. That ain't it, fam. That ain't it, fam.

Speaker: He painted literally... He went to the barbershop, said, hey, bro. I know my shit pushed back right here. Bring it back up here. And he said, yo, you can't do that. What? It was time. True. I know you got that paint stuff, man. Just put my hairline back. But may I ask what makes you think he went to a real barber shop? Mwahahahaha!

Speaker: Hey, that's a good question. Maybe he goes to sports cuts. We don't know. I mean, I don't think they got too many barbershops like that in South Bend, Indiana. I don't think so either Hey, that might have been a home hookup right there. Oh, yeah. Mama did it for him. Mama did it for him. Bobby G, you got anything on that game?

Speaker: I do not, sir. Well done, Jake. I love your recommendation. All right, so that's Jake's choice for his game of the weekend, the Notre Dame 41 -13, but whooping over Wisconsin. Mar, what is your pick for the weekend this past weekend?

Speaker: Hey. The game actually was a game. Or is he staying in Oregon? Like... Did y 'all not get over it? Vibes? I got old school Boise State upset vibes in that game, and it almost did it.

Speaker: almost did it second year in a row They ran it in. And Oregon, you know. Oh. Hey. Hey, I'm glad that they actually... Show some poise.

Speaker: and actually finish the game. uh came out on top because they are the better team they're the more talented team But I think they got... caught sleeping at some points in that game and got punched in the mouth and then they had to finally wake up. So when you number two team in the country, you should have expected.

Speaker: a tough shot from boise state i mean we know the history about boise state right And then two. I made it. You talking about? being a national champion you look too national championship yes but This one, boys.

Speaker: of a team that could win a national championship by not. taking the L and just getting it. On track. when you needed to. So great game overall. I didn't expect a close game at all. But I should have known better.

Speaker: It's Boise State. I don't care who coaching them. I don't care. It must be something in the uniforms. It must be something on the Bronco. That blue field. Some pixie dust that they sprinkle every time. I don't know. They made that a damn interview.

Speaker: Shalom. Loved it. I mean, you're right. You're right about one thing, 24 .5 -point underdogs, and it doesn't matter. They always make it a game. And as we said. Two years in a row now they've scared top Oregon. Now, Oregon was hurt by penalties. They had 10 penalties for 90 yards.

Speaker: but Their offense outshined Boise State, 497 yards to 270. or So if they can clean up. those penalties and again maybe it was the first game kind of jitters first game kind of rust Short of thing, you never know how that might work.

Speaker: That might always be an issue, but... Look, man, you're right. They held off. uh to win and that's what good teams do is make sure that they hold it down at the end of the game. Anybody got anything on that game?

Speaker: Nah, man. Good job, Mara. Way to come in second. Pushing Jake down to third. you know respect And why would that make you number one? Are we done with the comments?

Speaker: Yeah, yeah, go ahead. That's fine. Yeah, you know, nice try, fellas, but you're both wrong, and here's why. There was only one game this weekend that had every single aspect that you look for in college football. We had rivalry.

Speaker: pageantry. Good game. a fantastic finish and controversy. That's Western Michigan versus Michigan. Come on, because it's the game that everybody's still talking about today. It's the game that everybody's going to be talking about all week. It's the game that's going to potentially lead to an NCAA rule change. By the way, that clock, what's going on? Even though most sports fans know the official game clock is always kept by the referee. How many times have you seen a football game, college or pro, where the referee say,

Speaker: Will you please reset the game clock to at that dot dot dot because. because the official clock is on the field. That's a good point. Whenever something happens it doesn't go in our favor. we want to blame the referees and act like we don't know that that exists.

Speaker: But, you know, Mr. Underwood. you better start learning how to run rights because the NFL quarterback you are not. We got everything. We got David versus Goliath. And even when you got the repeat of the, did you really think they were going to make the Hail Mary? No, every coach is saying, knock the ball down, swat it down, swat it down. Always, always. Swat it down.

Speaker: uh and you know they suffer for it so uh and Doesn't seem like it now. But this game could have lasting potential on the national championship picture because now Ohio State might not play a three or four loss Michigan team. They might only play a one or two loss Michigan team. right and it's going to help their standards going to the cfp so it was clearly western michigan versus michigan Ooh!

Speaker: Wow! I will say one thing. uh about that and that is Yeah. Everybody is still talking about it, as you mentioned. That is still... The talk of the weekend.

Speaker: And, you know, it is not... He's not going to go away. Get him out of there. Set him up. I'll knock him down. it's not going to go away anytime soon either because of that controversy. And not only because of that controversy, but because of the controversies that Michigan has had. over the past few years, right? And all the close losses and close games that they had. We can go back to Appalachian State. when they lost to them.

Speaker: opening weekend. So losing a game like this to Western Michigan. a team not only from the same state, not necessarily a rival per se, but they're an in -state team.

Speaker: But a much... lesser team. And again, I go back to that parody of the NIL, that parody of the transport, all of these different things. This is this is gonna have as you mentioned have reverberations Way past this game.

Speaker: My thing with this is... They're going to have to fix this. You can't have. Uh, wrong clocks being shown. Because... Especially with sports gambling.

Speaker: being in the mix as well. And you have a lot of people betting on games. You have one clock facing the public. another clock facing officials. I get you sink that at the beginning of the game, but maybe you need to have a person there all game long sinking it. after every play just to make sure, because you can't have that happen, especially with the public watching, because if someone had bet.

Speaker: on that game and you mess up they bet for that. now you're messing up people's money and i'm sure a lot of people bet on that So... All right. Go ahead. Go ahead. Look.

Speaker: It... The clock situation didn't fuck up nobody's bet. Michigan fucked up everybody's bed. All right. problem. Peace. Them chokers was 20 point. Favourites. And they fucked up. That's true. But we just talked about Oregon playing down to Boise State because they were underdogs too. Maybe that was something.

Speaker: Nah, big facts. I'm with you. I'm just saying, just me personally, because I did bet on the game. And Michigan fucked me. Michigan fucked me. It wasn't the refs. If you bet on the cover, you still good.

Speaker: Hey, hey, hey. They fucked me. Only way to win is if you bet on the outright win. I mean, I look. I'm sure there were some people that did. The bigger picture is that you can't.

Speaker: have the public thinking one thing and then there being a whole different thing in the background because then it just looks shady then it's like okay Well, because in my eyes, if you want to know, and I'm my bad, Mara, I'll come right to you. But in my eyes...

Speaker: I'm thinking. Okay. This is probably what happened. The big 12 officials decided on this, whether or not if they took this little blurry screenshot of them having 0 .1, that's fine. I get it. Maybe it is true. Maybe it's true.

Speaker: What I'm saying is that If that is going to be the case, then you are going to have a lot of mad people. And what I think happened is the Big Ten was like... Hey. We're going to call it this way. They call Western Michigan in. We paid you a million dollars to come here and get your ass whooped.

Speaker: Take another million just to take that L and shut up about it. They just don't say none. Because you saw how quick the athletic director and head coach for Western Michigan was like, oh, we're okay with it. What the fuck you mean you're okay with it? I would be raising a stink to the heavens if it was my team. I ain't going out like no punk.

Speaker: anybody got that one mark go ahead i know you're about to say something Alright. Michigan is a Big Ten team, right? Mhm. Yes, that is correct. The officials were Big Ten, right?

Speaker: The visuals are... The officials were only the Big Ten. No, no. Thanks. I'm just asking questions. And so the... The clock was supposed to be manned by somebody and represent the Big Ten. The Big Ten commissioners weren't making all these decisions.

Speaker: Is it... is a lot. Oh. Things riding on. Michigan winning that game. It's a bad look for the Big Ten. What you doing? Zax. Of course they covered their ass. We look. They can say whatever the hell they want.

Speaker: I don't give a damn. I know what I saw. The game clock. And you snitched on yourself. As you said, 85 minutes before the game. The network clock is synced to the game clock.

Speaker: That's what you said. Which are all worse. So... So if... Dead. Game clock that is on the network is synced up with the game clock in the stadium. That one says zero that I saw.

Speaker: and wouldn't touch a player. So my thing is, is like... Gotcha! Stop trying to make it seem like we're dumb. and try to talk to us like we're idiots. We know what we saw.

Speaker: This is maddening. obviously absurd that You try. to give us the dumbest explanation for this shit. You see? See, that's what I'm talking about. The explanation came out like a lie. It did.

Speaker: It came out like a cover -up. Peace. I've seen politics. write better cover -ups than that shit that they gave us. That was crap. That was absolutely horseshit. It's okay.

Speaker: If you just want to say a... Obviously, they're not going to tell the truth. Hey, man, we got to save face. Hey, Michigan, what the hell? We're over here losing. Where's the Michigan, man? I thought it was... Come on now.

Speaker: Michigan is also another big money. Making revenue. Can I say this, too, real quick, Mar? Worst week to do it in. The NFL's not. going on. Everybody's watching these games more than anything right now.

Speaker: there's nothing else to watch they're like everybody's ready for football Everybody's watching it week zero, week one. Come on, man. There's no other games you watching. These are the games that this is prime time stuff. We're watching right here, man Slap in the face.

Speaker: So now you're a standalone problem in front of the whole nation. Exactly. Exactly. You stand out, and it goes out in week one when everybody else is watching, too. And like Jake said, and...

Speaker: You're getting beat when you shouldn't be losing. Bobby G, were you going to say something? I would say both of these guys are proving my point exactly. You're going with what they tell you versus what you know. Why does the NBA use the kind of clock it does?

Speaker: Once upon a time. Somebody told you that zero doesn't mean zero. and you said what that doesn't make any sense that until they showed you Zero doesn't mean zero.

Speaker: Just saying the same thing here. Like. Again, you're forgetting. Yeah, they told you the class was saint. You think they're going to change the clock? yeah just just like when when you bought your microphone they told you would sync to your sound but sometimes we get a little bit off right our lips are moving and that sound is just a little bit off right See, don't. I mean, not what you know is what you can prove.

Speaker: Really? To the great thespian Denzel Washington. Jake, it's not what you know is what you can prove. All right, so let me ask you this, Bobby. What other game can you ever recall them changing the clock over? tenth of a second in the football game.

Speaker: Mini! Again, have you never heard a referee come out and say, Stop it. Literally stop a play in the middle and said. Clock operator, can you please reset the game clock from this to this?

Speaker: And don't do chunks of time. Bobby, that's not what I said. That's it. chance. Is this what this is? What's worse? 10th? Was that seconds. A referee will come out and literally put 20 extra seconds on the clock.

Speaker: I understand what you mean. Where did that time come from? I understand what you're saying, but I'm talking about the actual... In football terms. I've never heard. I'm talking football. It's the same thing. They didn't stop the game and say, wait a minute. I've been watching this game the whole time. How did the clock get off?

Speaker: About 30 seconds. Oh, no, no, no. No, because, like, I know what you're talking about when they say all of a sudden, you know, hey. because they'll put time back on because time was wasted for no reason between or they're moving to change or something like that, or there's an injury and they say, hey, put 10 seconds back on the clock because that 10 seconds should have been run off.

Speaker: because there was an injury. I understand that part. i'm talking about literally we're literally talking about I'm a second then. I've never seen that in a football game. That's me personally. Can you see it every time they have a replay down there if something happens?

Speaker: They go replay. They get down. distance, and clock. Maybe. Why are we shocked that they monitored? It's done the entire game.

Speaker: It only matters because it happened in something where it could affect people's pockets. That's it. I mean, if this would have happened.

Speaker: With eight minutes left in the second quarter, nobody would care.

Speaker: It's the second quarter. You can't win the game. Recording. There you go. This literally changed the result. The result. No, it didn't because they got a chance to do it again and they messed up. No, no, no, no. That changed the result of the game. No, it didn't. If the clock is zero. Listen, listen, listen.

Speaker: Before he threw the pass, was the game tied?

Speaker: Yes or no? I mean, were they? Wordy up. Yes or no? Me too. No, Western Michigan. Before he threw the pass. Were they winning? Yes or no?

Speaker: Of course they were. After all the shenanigans they started off before Michigan ran that next play, was Western Michigan still winning? You were still winning. Take some personal goddamn responsibility and play defense. Oh my God.

Speaker: I'll be honest with you. I ain't messing around. right now. Ha! What? What? Oh, so we just going to go deep, just like we did 13 seconds. We all go act like. Buffalo ain't had no defense.

Speaker: Do we blame Josh Allen? No, you blame the defense. We gotta stop blaming people for these players, man. Get out there and do your job. You got my issue. My issue again...

Speaker: is the fact that Everything that has been put out, like Mar said. has made this seem It's really, really shady and it doesn't matter if you Tell me.

Speaker: That. The clock. It, you know, in basketball sometimes needs to be sink. I get it. But then the solution is you have someone. In whatever sport, because you said you were using your basketball example. That's why I said that.

Speaker: Okay, so the solution is you have someone that has that control all game long, and every 30 seconds, they sync the clock right after every play. Sink the clock. Every play. stink the clock like a damn monkey or get a damn robot in there get some ai something and just let it just Yeah reset it I mean it got If that's what we got. Go to it.

Speaker: you can't have this happen you can't But either way, one more thing and we'll close it. Give me my points so we can move on. There we go. How about that? How about that?

Speaker: He said I'm going to take my points myself. Yeah. Hey, yeah, you know what? What would you say, Jake, who won this argument? I'll give it to Bobby.

Speaker: I'll give it to Bobby. All right, Mar.

Speaker: I'm giving it to Jake because I'm spiting Bobby on this shit. I like that. I like this. See, this is a game show right here. I like it. You're going to screw your man. All right. Bobby who you got?

Speaker: God damn it. I ain't got to hear that. I'm not going to say it, man. I would have to go with this. with the Oregon Boise.

Speaker: Okay. All right. Well, I'm going to break the tie here. Bobby G, I will. I will vote for Bobby G. I agree that that was the game of the weekend.

Speaker: The game that will be talked about for a long, long time. I do like the Oregon -Boise State game because obviously it was a... It was a really good game that...

Speaker: had a championship contender i don't consider michigan a championship contender but This game, just the social media, the talking at the water cooler the next day, just the ramifications.

Speaker: That will happen from it, makes this the game of the weekend. So Bobby G gets the first initial point in any different sacrifice. Great job, brother. All right. I'm in the history books. Listen. The tribal chief. Wait, that's going to be an answer to a trivia question one day. I'm the tribal chief around here. Yeah, you see me.

Speaker: All right. Sully? My man Bobby G is the... tribal chief, and I usually write with that. or just because he was being such a You the tribal queef right now. It's not the tribal. It's Charm of Queef! I love it. Oh, man. Tie game, 7 -7, SMU versus Florida State. Thank you, canteen, for that. Update!

Speaker: All right, now we move it in. Oh yeah, go ahead. Now I'm saying it ain't going to last too long. Just give Florida State some time to F it up. Just give them time. There you go. All right.

Speaker: Here we are. We were going on to our next debate topic. It is our sacrifice. defend and destroy topic of the day and you say what the hell is that omar what are you talking about And I will give you a little...

Speaker: uh preview to what you're gonna have here basically if you've ever played the f mary kill game which i'm sure everybody has Here's a little twist variation on. That sacrifice means you're just putting it to the side for now. You believe in them, but not all the way.

Speaker: uh defend me jess you're locked you believe in him That's what you're going with. And destroy means you're completely destroying it. You don't believe in it. Whatever it is, the person narrative. Still on. and so forth.

Speaker: So, for our first topic here. We are going to go with our CFP. Ein Schminn! winners. And so here are your three choices.

Speaker: Arch Manning. John T. Moore. And Trinidad. Chambliss, I want you all to assign a sacrifice, defend and destroy to these three quarterbacks.

Speaker: four -year Heisman. Bobby G. We'll start with you this time. What do you got? Put them over to my three options again.

Speaker: Arch Manning, Dante Moore, and Trinidad Chambliss. Oh, sacrifice, defend, and destroy. So you're defending your top choice. I'm going to destroy Trinidad and Chavez. Let's get him up out here. First of all, he shouldn't even be there in the first place. How about...

Speaker: Jeremiah Smith. How about Malachi, Tony? How about we get some players? Okay. Like, Trinidad, who should be in the pros, he was scared to go pro. I'm not. I'm going to...

Speaker: sacrifice Dante Moore and defend Arch Manning. Yeah.

Speaker: Wow. Love this. Next week, Arch Madden has a chance to set himself up for the entire season. Win or lose, if he goes out and puts on a good show versus Ohio State. Yeah, he'll he'll be the front runner Until.

Speaker: Thanks. Yeah. So... And... it is just with especially Because of last season, right? Because he came out the first game against Ohio State.

Speaker: didn't have his best game and we saw what happened the rest of the season started off slow Got it going. And now to come back and have a chance to redeem yourself. Uh... yeah it's got to be that and again dante moore he'll have the same opportunities right but Art just got the name, and he just got the better game.

Speaker: earlier. you know, so What a great way to understand and play. Sacrifice, defend, and destroy. See? He was a little hesitant. before But you nailed that perfectly, Bobby G. Great job on that. That's how you play the game.

Speaker: Canteen says Arch got to put up numbers against Ohio State, no doubt about it. We're going to talk about that game in just a few minutes. That's the big game of the week. uh chambliss ain't too shabby look uh despite what bobby g said trinidad chambliss had an amazing year last year and uh and can if he has an amazing year this year he's gonna be in the heisman trophy race Now, one thing I will say, I do agree with Bobby G on, if you watch ball and buds, you know, this, I am a. I'm a pro anything but QB Heisman.

Speaker: anything but QB, MVP, and NFL. I just don't like how it's turned into quarterback awards. And I think you're right. There should be. Now, I just took this from you know the heisman uh right that's fair odds at the beginning of season but I would normally be like you and want to include a Jeremiah Smith. even a Leonard Moore.

Speaker: would be included on my list, cornerback for Notre Dame. So, Mar, go ahead and give us your. Sacrifice, defend and destroy. Sacrifice It's my man.

Speaker: Trinidad. Oh, another one. All right. Well, I miss I'm gonna sacrifice him. Only because I think he can get in the conversation because his play is... It was good this past weekend. Obviously. It needs to continue on that trajectory. And, of course, he has to play.

Speaker: big and big games. I in just Ole Miss in general. I mean, you were one of the final four teams last year, and, you know, you got to at least show that it wasn't. Lane Kiffin, right? is show that, hey, we got some talent on this team. So... That's there.

Speaker: I'm with Bobby. I got to defend Arch. I mean... What's crazy about Arch is is Ow!

Speaker: them feet from. That ain't me. And that's sure it ain't Eli. That's Cooper. He ain't the man. That's Grandpa Arch. That's Grandpa. That was Cooper. Remember his dad? His dad was a wide receiver. Grandpa Arch is great. His daddy is, but come on.

Speaker: Nah, no. If you go back and look at them old Arch Manning tapes when he was a saint, he was like a Sonny Jurgensen. He was over there shaking and baking. He was mobile. Or he was mobile. So he got that. about it.

Speaker: But. I love the fact that... I don't think enough people are giving him enough. Credit for his mobility. And I think that's crazy to do because... If you lighten up the box and you leave areas on the field open.

Speaker: I think he's good enough to go and get those first downs, extend the drive. Things like that. Yes. And everybody relax. I'm not saying he is Patrick Ronald Holmes, but I see the quarterback do that every Sunday in Kansas City. That keeps the... Shame. What?

Speaker: With the limited, well... The limited times he used to get. uh you move his uh defeat with his mobility. I give him all the credit. I think he's in. more talented than people who want to give them credit. A lot of people want to just... want to give the credit because of his namesake. And I'm like, eh. He kind of earned it. Like, he ain't no scrub, so...

Speaker: Right. The kid got talent, and if he plays well, especially in big games. Out. That was all you, big dog. But I got it destroyed. My man, uh...

Speaker: What? Wow. Bobby G was over there talking about my man Trinidad was scared to go to the pros. What the hell do you think Dante Moore was scared? He was... He was... definitely projected to be in the top five.

Speaker: Yeah, he lied. Nah. Oh, yeah, he would. No doubt. Okay, so who's really scared to go to the pros? Okay. Yeah. Well, yeah. Look.

Speaker: My thing is with Dante is... What? I'm - curious on what made him come back because i'm like when you're projected top five it's like whatever you think you're lacking or... haven't developed.

Speaker: I get it. Wait, here's your time to really just... Go all in. The pros, bro. Who had the second pick in the draft last year? I - I - I - Hey! You got me there.

Speaker: You got me there, alright? I'm probably... Sorry, Avril. I probably would have gave it some thought. I wasn't going to say nothing. You got me there.

Speaker: You got me there. I agree. I could go back to Oregon and mess with you. and still be a millionaire. Or go over there. be in New Jersey.

Speaker: Eat my dick, King K. Being a millionaire. Pretty much. over here in Oregon. If I'm going to lose, I'd rather do it playing with these co -eds and getting this money over here instead of... Get my dick kicked in. Me and New Jersey. I do know Jersey is like the big wasteland of America. Like, every trash goes to Central Jersey.

Speaker: Watch notes like that. Oh, no, I'm being serious. I mean... Crazy, bro. If you've ever driven down the New Jersey Turnpike. You can attest to what Mara is saying right now. I can't at least. Smell like booty juice. And you know what kind of booty juice this smells like? This smells like if you had some of them Nephilim, them Neanderthal giants. Right.

Speaker: And then you have one, right? And he caught a jet out of midair. Like, let's say we were back in time travel and you had, like, giants and jets at the same time. And he just grabbed the jet. out of midair and the oil. starts pouring out of the jet.

Speaker: down the Neanderthal giant's back. And down his butt crack, you have the booty juice of the Giants and Jets. Oh. The Meadowlands. I'm going home.

Speaker: More! A little long walk, but I got there, baby. I got there.

Speaker: That's wild. Bitch. by mob jake i think i may need to make this a little easier to have i've done notice from the first two participants who both clearly understood the assignment, but... I think it was my verbiage that is making this a little harder. Who do you defend?

Speaker: Who would be your first pick? sacrifice, and then destroy. That probably makes it easier because then it's one, two, three. So who do you defend? Who do you sacrifice? And who do you destroy? We know who I'm defending. I already have it on record.

Speaker: that Manning himself would be the greatest Manning to ever step foot on a football field. I've said that once. I'll say it again. We've always said that, as I was saying. We know what Arch is about to do.

Speaker: We know. that he will probably be the first overall pick at the end of this season. and the beginning of the 2028 NFL draft next year. Now. Hmm. Would you say after that, what's my next one to do? I defended Arch. Who's the other one? Sacrifice. So you're not sure about him yet, but you're not giving up on him yet either.

Speaker: I'm going to sacrifice Trinidad. I don't know why we're having so much hate on Trinidad. My bad, guys. I don't know about y 'all, but y 'all two idiots have the nerve to hate on this guy. Where's his head coach at?

Speaker: Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Where is Lane Kiffin at? Lane Kiffin left him on the street. Exactly. Exactly. He left him.

Speaker: He left him to die, and here he is showing up week one against a great Louisville team and defending his honor and showing and throwing like no other. The boy went crazy.

Speaker: 300 -plus passing yards, three TDs, one pick. Look great. He looked great. Against a great Louisville team, too. They got the best running back on the other side.

Speaker: Come on, man. It's a slap in the face. How dare y 'all? How dare y 'all hate on that man? Trinidad James, I'm not giving up on you yet. Trinidad James? A rapper?

Speaker: Roll all of my checks.

Speaker: Don't say more. It's time to destroy that bum. Because they should have lost to Boise State. And boy, were they lucky. Boy, were they lucky that that didn't happen. But let me tell you right now. Dante, bro.

Speaker: Oregon don't make good quarterbacks. There's only one that's ever been made in the history, and that's Mr. Bo Nix the Fix. Don't do that. Other than that, there ain't no damn Oregon quarterbacks that have came out and looked great ever. They're ass.

Speaker: So let's call a spade a spade. And remember, Bo Nix came from really Auburn. So we're not counting him as normal. Exactly. And not to mention the fact that Marcus Mariota in college was better than Bo Nix anyway. Bullshit. Bullshit. He won a Heisman. You just disrespect me like that?

Speaker: That man won a Heisman. James got screwed out of that. Don't do that. That year. Oh my god, that's funny. Let me impersonate my guy from Black Panther. Are you done?

Speaker: Are you done? Yes, I'm done. Hate? Let me tell you about hate. I guess EA hated on them too. Because they didn't pick Trinidad to be on the cover of the new college game. They picked this damn running back.

Speaker: because he ain't even the best player on his team. Talking about the Heisman candidate. Second. Let's continue that fear. Yeah, Mark, you know, you got me. Yeah, I said he was afraid to go pro. You know, you can't map it with Dante Moore. But how about afraid of success?

Speaker: Okay, can Trinidad do math? Because the U offered him $10 million to come to the U to play for a real team, compete for a championship, and he turned it down. He said, let me stay here at Ole Miss where it's safe. Loyal. Loyal to the soil. Loyal to the motherfucking soil. That's not giving hope anymore any days.

Speaker: I don't want to compete for it. I'm going to go with the guys that brought me here. You want to talk about, you threw up the, oh, he threw for 336 yards and three touchdowns. How about 400 yards? five touchdowns with a 90 % completion percentage.

Speaker: That's Darren Mensah. Who took the money, Trinidad? Who took the money Trinidad left on the table because he sucks at math? And he's going to have a chance to win the national championship as well.

Speaker: Hey, two things, Bobby. It ain't always about the bread. I'm with Jake on this one. It's loyalty, baby. He was like... Loyalty to the soil. He's like, he's like. Maybe my coach wasn't loyal to us. Wait. A good chunk of my boys, that was weird. with me as the final 14 last year are still here.

Speaker: amen let's ride out on a good note so i respect that loyalty and two Come on. You could have threw for 400 yards against that Stanford defense. Thank you. thank you i didn't even know that i thought that was a high school team Hold on, hold on. Okay. Loyalty Hunt, we're all wrestling fans here. Everybody's got a price. Everybody's got a price. I hate you. Get out of here. I can't stand your ass.

Speaker: Oh, my God, that's great. I will say this. Look, I'm all about the loyalty as well. I don't know how much he's getting paid at Ole Miss, but I hope it was at least $7 million. You can give up a couple million. But if you're getting four. And Pastor Labonte, now we may have to have a conversation. But that being said.

Speaker: I... You know, I agree that. I... I would put. If I had my personal ring. Right, right. Oh, yeah, yeah. See what I'm saying to you? About to do the neck band right now.

Speaker: This guy's a bitch. Oh, my God. That's funny. Amul said, shout out. Jets will call Adante Moore a savior when they draft him next year. That's what they tried to avoid this year. I think that's what Bobby G was saying earlier.

Speaker: But look, in my personal rankings... If I had to, just because I've seen Dante Moore play more. because I'm obviously UCLA and he used to be with us and in the Pac -12. I've seen his growth. I've seen his maturity.

Speaker: I would put him at probably number two. I already have Arch Manning as my Heisman winner. I said that on the last week's show. So that would be my number one. And it's a very close two and three.

Speaker: Right? Like Trinidad and Chambliss, I think. has grown, has been loyal to his team, and... Ole Miss has a very good shot. at being a really good team. And if they are, he's going to be strictly a...

Speaker: Uh... Damn, I don't know the word I'm looking for. But anyway, he's going to be in that conversation. Right on in that conversation. if they're a good team. To close it out, Ole Miss doesn't win.

Speaker: unless Trinidad plays well. I don't know of Dante Moore. nor that idiot that he picked out there in Miami. They can play bad. and their team can still cover for them.

Speaker: they have a good defense on the other side to help them out. My boy Trinidad's doing it himself, man. Get on my back. We carry it. Backpack, backpack. Again, not even the best player on his team.

Speaker: Mmm. And I mean, that's what it's going to be more importantly true than you mentioned that because Kwon Lacey got injured. In the second half. So we don't even know his health.

Speaker: In two weeks your boy gets exposed. Woo! Hmm. Because you know who they play. Okay. You saw that defense the other night. LSU was coming. LSU? Yeah, LSU.

Speaker: You think that he going to LSU? He going to see that little... grimy, little grimy, little skinny, bum -ass Lane Kiffin on the other side and say, I ain't got something for you, trash can.

Speaker: You want to leave me? You want to leave me? You think that you got better over there than me? But Tiffany ain't going to be the one out there hitting them. Relax, Jake. I was with you until you said that. Relax. Hey, LSU ain't fucking around, bro. Bro, they play Clemson. Stop that. That boy ain't been good since 2016.

Speaker: A decade later. You're right about that, but what I'm saying is... Yeah, that defense is legit. Their defense was nasty, all right? And Lane was up 31 -3. Did you see they leaked his speech at halftime?

Speaker: You know what pissed me off about that? Lane's living off of the success of what Brian Kelly brought in there with all that roster. Yes. That's what college coaches do. Yes. No, stop it, man. Really? Brian Kelly, they should have gave Brian Kelly one more year. Because he was about to turn that team upside. He was about to flip that team around. And he had a chance.

Speaker: Ryan Day ain't living off of what Urban Meyer built. Hey, hey. Jake. They didn't like Brian Kelly. You have to be liked in Baton Rouge.

Speaker: They gotta like you. Yeah, they're like that slimy and grimy Lane Kiffin. They came out with that big -ass southern accent of his. He's like, me and my family. I'm like, bro, you from Boston, Massachusetts. You ain't. Right. No.

Speaker: That shit had me fucked up. What shit the heck? Yeah! Hey, how about this stuff? You mentioned Malachi Tony earlier. How about my man hitting the Heisman pose?

Speaker: In the first week of the season. As you should. Come on! He's going to be in conversation. What did he do? 12.

Speaker: 12 of them. Mm. Yeah. No, you're not in three touchdowns. And... But what I'm saying is they went back and did research.

Speaker: And the person that did it earliest in a season so far was Travis Hunter back in week four. of the heisman campaign he had a couple years ago so now we've gotten all the way to week one It's out of control. Now you might as well just start calling it before the games start.

Speaker: Wait, wait, wait. This is crazy. This is so crazy. How good Malachi Tony look? had people on the internet talking about Like, just dismissing Jeremiah Smith as if he didn't exist. I was like... No.

Speaker: Did you see him hit the crossover in the end zone though? Almost made them boys hit helmet to helmet. I was like, oh, shit. I said, that boy Malachi is mad about what happened last year, not getting that. He said, no, I need to get back. Yeah, well, we'll see. That's a big showing out in the first game of the season. Give my points, Omar. Yeah.

Speaker: Well, who do you pick for your winner of the argument, Jake? Oh, uh I'm gonna go more this time. All right, Mark. I made some good points.

Speaker: I'm going to go with Jake because he tried to call me a hater, but ended up having the same order as I did. Right, sure did. Yeah. Sure did. Uh... BG, that's a great point. I abstain because both of these cats believe in Trinidad. You cannot abstain, sir. You're not an option. Uh...

Speaker: Ugh. I'll go with more binos. All right. There he goes. He goes to Mark. I'm also going with Maher, not because my...

Speaker: Top three was not the same as Bobby G's because it was. uh but Because I am a UCLA fan and I hate Oregon and the Dante Moore being. destroyed is good with me so and plus it was three nothing anyway so i didn't have to tie break it mar gets the second point of the day moving on to our last debate topic of the day before we get into some Football game picks. We have our NFL.

Speaker: uh awards portion of this so same thing as With the Heismans. but we're just doing it with the NFL. MVP, and these are going to be your front runners. So, Josh. Allen is the front runner. in the MVP this is according to CBS Sports by the way so don't Kill me.

Speaker: For Offensive Player of the Year, it's Jameer Gibbs. And for Defensive Player of the Year. Will Anderson Jr. You are to defend. sacrifice. And. Destroy. Mar, we haven't started with you on this one yet.

Speaker: are in the show yet let's start with you on this one Uh... Hmm. I will defend. Jameer Gibbs. Because now... The is all yours, Sonic.

Speaker: It's all yours, my brother. It is all yours. And... Hey, this - this - This young man is the truth. I don't know if people remember this play, his rookie season. Remember they opened up against the Chiefs.

Speaker: This man hit a matrix move on the sideline that had. the whole Chiefs defense in the spin cycle. Hmm. Hmm. when I saw that, I said, oh, this guy's a rookie?

Speaker: I said, oh shit. And then they had him sharing time his rookie season. They had him sharing time the last couple of seasons. Now the show is all his. And... I can't wait to see everything get a lot. entrepreneur gift this year.

Speaker: Oh. But I'm going to take it a step further. I think he's going to play so good. You might have to take that OPY office in front of his name and you might have to put him in the MVP conversation. Yes!

Speaker: Wow. Uh... Alright, I like that. I'm a sacrifice. Will Anderson, Jr. Peep -pew. Or why? Okay. Fine. And the only reason why is because there's a guy named Miles Garrett that is learning how to hit harder. Did you see the video? What are you talking about? You are learning to hit harder?

Speaker: Hang out, man. Every quarterback, man, you better check your premium on your life insurance card. It's about to get scary out here, about to get spooky. But I got... I got it. Amen.

Speaker: Let's destroy this MVP talk with Josh Allen. Because if we're being frank... Me and Frank. You shouldn't even have an MVP to your resume, as it is.

Speaker: Oh. Being free. If you're being real. Well then. Lamar Jackson. I'm MVP. That's a shot fired. All right.

Speaker: Uh, and... Hey man, look. The fact of the matter is they didn't give. It ain't me. Josh Allen. I mean, come on, man. How many excuses we gonna get from this man every year?

Speaker: or why he can't win this year. I can't win the big game. I ain't trying to hit. Come on, man. You wouldn't want to have four turnovers in that playoff game. Come on, man.

Speaker: So I'm not expecting an MVP season. because I just think there's going to be some other quarterbacks that's going to play better than him, like they've always had, but somehow got an MVP. Whatever.

Speaker: Yeah, I'm off that MVP Josh Allen shit. I ain't trying to hear that shit. Yes, and that's why I put this in here. And actually, I was wrong. Not CBS. This comes directly from NFL.

Speaker: So that's where this list came from. Uh, Hot Jake Jake, who you got?

Speaker: All right, I'm going to do it. Well, I probably got about the same, but I got different reasons. I do believe Jermaine Gibbs. You can keep agreeing with Mara. That's okay.

Speaker: Shut up. Shut up. I defend Jameer Gibbs. I think that they have an easy schedule this season. I think the Lions are pissed off of last season. I think they got shit to prove. I think that nail -wearing, what is it, that fingernail -wearing guy in their division, they're going to show them something. I think they're gonna shut him up.

Speaker: I think it's going to be a Packer -Lions fight for the division this year, and I think Jameer Gibbs is going to be a big reason why. All right. I'm going to sacrifice. Is that what it is? The next one, right? Sacrifice. I'm going to sacrifice good old Will Anderson.

Speaker: But I got the exact opposite guy. Let me tell you something. Oh! Hold on. Did you forget who else joined that Rams team? That's got me scooped out right now!

Speaker: Do you not know that man Mr. Nine -Nine himself? The last time he had help with him with Mr. Von Miller, what he did? Good thing that that bull was here this time, though.

Speaker: Good thing it wasn't Joe. It was Burrow they did that to. But let me tell you something. That boy Aaron Donald is about to be dangerous as ever. I am scared shitless. You're going to only be able to single man him up because man, Miles is going to be. probably be in double team because they're thinking that he's he got the most sure enough that russ is gonna wear off so fast oh my gosh aaron donald's about to go crazy it's about to scare me I agree with that.

Speaker: Let me throw down Josh Allen like the trash can he is. Let me tell you something. Booty juice. It annoys me. That I gotta see that idiot.

Speaker: In the top one. NFL quarterbacks right now. And I got to hear every week from different channels. on how great this guy is yet his ass was crying the last time i saw him because my broncos busted his ass so bad he didn't know what to do He was crying at the press conference, sad as a mother.

Speaker: You know what it is. Sad as ever. He knew what happened. We busted him up. Boy, we're over there fumbling before halftime over there, giving us a free three points. I don't want to hear shit from it. What makes me more madder, though, is the person that I'm going to give the NFL MVP to is another bum, but he's lucky that I trust this offensive.

Speaker: Coordinator. that i do believe i think justin herbert wins it this year It frustrates me. It frustrates me so much. But I saw what Mike McDaniel, yeah, is it Mike McDaniel? Yeah, it's Mike McDaniel. what he did.

Speaker: with Tua. And I think they're going to be a pass -happy offense at the beginning. I think not a lot of people are going to be knowing that. And I think Justin Herbert will get his first MVP. It's been about eight years. I've been waiting.

Speaker: that this guy was supposed to be the next big thing. But he'll get his. Of course, he will still fill in the playoffs first round like usual. Can't wait to see that one and done shit from him.

Speaker: So yeah. The same thing, just Herbert will probably win the MVP this year. That bomb. There you go. BG. Who you got? Oh yeah, I mean, just do something real quick.

Speaker: Uh... No. Make sure I can. Can throw a... Yeah, yeah, of course I mean, look, I agree with the Aaron Donald part. I'll tell you that. No, no, no. Go ahead.

Speaker: First of all let me go ahead and do this real quick. I'd say Jake is now disqualified. He can't win the point. he's something johnson's gonna get one he's already been an mvp So yeah, you like... no no he was talking about he was talking about justin herbert Okay. No, he said Josh Allen one day will get one.

Speaker: Oh, did you say that? That was the sentence. I missed that. Run it back after the show. Run that back. If you meant, if you meant. You know Herbert. That's why. I'll let it slide. I think you meant Herbert. That's funny. Ha ha! That's funny.

Speaker: But either way, I love the fact that I'm going to thank these guys for proving my point because. I'm going to defend Will Anderson. Like. Lamar said Miles Garrett is gonna, you know, he's his threat.

Speaker: hot take said aaron donald you see right there you got two guys on the same team splitting votes which leaves the door wide open for my man Will Anderson, who is unquestionably the best player on the best defense.

Speaker: You don't even know his name. Okay, now I'm disqualifying you guys. It's Daniil. It's Daniil. I call him Daniil. You don't call him anything. You don't talk to him. The best player.

Speaker: on the best defense in the league and he's gonna have a chance to prove it again. As a matter of fact, he's going to have a chance to prove it against your MVP. I believe the Texans didn't try to play this year. Could be mistaken.

Speaker: But yeah, as far as DPOY, there's only been... uh in the last the last two -time winner In fact, was Aaron Donald. The hater in LA. Before that, TJ Watt. Not too many guys go back -to -back with DPOYs in my, you know. miles garrett is the rain and so that that kind of slims His chance to win right there. That's a good point.

Speaker: The guy I'm going to sacrifice, I'm going to sacrifice. Ugh. I'm going to sacrifice Jameer Gibbs.

Speaker: No. Actually, I do agree with... Tomorrow, I think Jameer will... Garner some MVP votes. I think you don't have that good of a year.

Speaker: Anybody who's watched our... uh preview season previews i got the lions in the super bowl so i do expect them to have a good year you know they handed them They handed him the torch and they're going to let him run with it, getting rid of Montgomery and see if he can carry that offense.

Speaker: and I'm going to have to destroy Josh Allen. Only because with what the Rams have done. up. I think Stafford might go back to back with it. I think there's a good chance for that.

Speaker: Of course, you got, you know, healthy Patrick Mahomes. He'll be back in the race. A lot of people felt Lamar Jackson should have got a lot of light. It's too... The field is too great. He's having a tough time.

Speaker: winning that MVP you have to have. a perfect kind of season then you got newcomers like i said herbert could be a mbp candidate with a new offensive coordinator. just just too many if jayden daniels stays healthy you know he you put his hat in there If Dak stays healthy, you say that. People wanted to give the MVP his rookie year. Did they not?

Speaker: Like... Don't poopoo on Jayden Daniels if he stays healthy. He got to stay healthy first. He got to stay healthy first. He has to stay healthy first, Bobby. Exactly. That's what I'm saying. If he stays healthy.

Speaker: People, you know, he's one of those dudes. Yeah, that's my goal. You know, I think Will. of these three has the best opportunity to get to snag that hardware.

Speaker: Yeah, I mean, what you said did make sense about... Miles Garrett and Aaron Donald eating any potential votes from each other it does make sense when you do have two Middle fingers up for Aaron Donald, biggest hater.

Speaker: Yeah, like... Go home, bro. We don't need you. And, like, literally because of what Hot Take Jake said. It's a big thing. Yeah, because he's coming in. Miles Garrett wanted to do his on his own. He wanted to put his talents. on display Before winning the team, here come Aaron Donald. Oh, I want to play now. then look at how we look exactly how jake phrased it What happened the last time Aaron Donald had somebody on his...

Speaker: It ain't your team no more, bro. You retired. you left well hey you can't let me you gotta let a franchise legend come back Man, fuck Aaron Donald. Let me do my thing. Let me do my thing if I might as well. All right. Huh?

Speaker: Who's the all -time stack leader? Me, that's who. Take the old ass back to the town homies and cheerios. Hey, yo. Damn. Tell them how you really feel.

Speaker: It's first president. I just forgot. Just for context, Josh Allen in this NFL. In this NFL, in the... in the odds, excuse me, NFL odds for MVP. Josh Allen is plus 550, the favorite. Joe Burrow and Justin Herbert.

Speaker: Our time for second there. in the Offensive Player of the Year. Jameer Gibbs is plus 650. Jamar Chase is number two, Puka Nakua. Number three.

Speaker: And then defensive player of the year, you got Will Anderson. It's plus 650. He was voted by the NFL voters, but it actually is Myles Garrett. who currently has the best odds.

Speaker: in the betting odds. at plus 400. And then Aiden Hutchinson. is at number three there. Sorry, Bobby G, who would you pick for your... winner of this argument.

Speaker: Boo!

Speaker: I'm gonna go Jake. This is Justin Herbert. And he's Romney. Josh McDaniels is a good enough offensive coordinator where if... If he really, really, uh... kind of lets Justin Herbert loose. He has the talent to bring it home. Mhm.

Speaker: yeah i agree i think jesse herbert is going to have a great year at some point mark Uh... Actually, I'm going to rock with Bobby. I guess I didn't put into that thought process sometimes when you got two great players on one team and they're both having a great season.

Speaker: Yeah, you're splitting boats right down the middle. And if, say, The Will Anderson. Aaron Donald and... Miles, all right. Your sack numbers are.

Speaker: We own them. Right next week. I think you kind of have to. Kind of. look for his will to kind of trying to eat that out. I mean, because And no disrespect to Daniel Hunter, but...

Speaker: I don't think he's. and can He's a good player. We're comparing him to Aaron Donald as Jerry. your postcard. I mean, you know. Or if Aaron Donald wins it, Miles Garrett is his co -star. I mean.

Speaker: That's a phenomenal co -star. Again, no disrespect to Daniel Hunter. Phenomenal. I really hate now Daniel Hunter. No. Okay. You hanged on him with the wrong name. Shit, motherfucker. I was scared.

Speaker: They're going to go down in history as... Real quick, real quick, Mar, who's got a better secondary? The Rams? or the Texans. The Rams! No. Hell no. You forget the moves that they made? They added them. I got to see it. I don't play paper. I don't play paper football. I got to see it first. I've seen. What do you mean? You're playing paper football? Paper football? I got you. All right. All right. Hold on.

Speaker: Hold on. Hold on, first of all... You know they got Trent McDuffie as a multiple. He's an all pro. He's an all pro corner. He's top five corner. He's not too far from your man, Pat Sertan. That's one of the best corners in the game. Obviously, Pat Sertan is way better. me personally i would go pat certain one and i would probably put trent around three or four But he ain't too far.

Speaker: so don't try to act like they like the real didn't pick up they picked up some grub They just. And they just made him the highest paid corner in NFL history. Scrubs don't get that. Scrubs don't get that.

Speaker: All right. I don't want no scrubs. Yeah, don't get that. Jake, who you got? Boy. I'm going to go Maher because I agreed with him except for one point. I want to add in real quick. I saw what Derek Stingley did.

Speaker: I saw what my boy Petrie did out there on that secondary over there. That Texans defense, if they didn't have that bum -ass C .J. Stroup, they could have walked into the damn Super Bowl themselves. with that defense of what they did.

Speaker: It is. Did you see what Miles Garrett did? I'm going to pitch a bell to my man, C .J. Proud. if they find a way to protect them well cj is cj is still what most quarterbacks should be as a game manager. That boy just throws something up. Fuck it. Somebody's there.

Speaker: Come on, Jake, Jake, Jake. Got to protect the man. They got to protect their man. And don't get me wrong. There are some times with CJ, I'm like, yo, that was a bad decision. hold that or don't throw that.

Speaker: Or don't take that sack. Go to Marlowe. I'm with you. What? A lot of that is the result is because he got a. He got toddlers. blocking for him up front.

Speaker: He's getting enough. the block for my friend. And you just kind of, again, supported my argument there, Jake, because... If the Rams offense don't, you know.

Speaker: Their defense could take a night off. and they can still win games. If Will Anderson don't bring it every night, the Texans ain't winning nothing. I don't think Matthew Stafford is who you think he's going to be.

Speaker: It don't matter that backfield is They got running backs. They got receivers. It's slow ass. Colin Williams? Peace. I'm getting out of here. He did what last season? Hey, Kyron Williams and Boca is solid running backs, bro. Boca's over there hating on every damn race in the building. You don't know if he's going to be in the damn league that long. Shit. What the hell is that?

Speaker: Ha ha! Just calling a spade a spade. I mean... This man is hating on the dude with back -to -back 1 ,200 -yard seasons. 10 touchdown seasons.

Speaker: mm -mm -mm What are we doing here? Wow. Look, man. Who you voting on? You got to break the tie. i do have to break the time this is very tough because all of you had really good points Look, I completely agree. I don't like the quarterbacks, as I mentioned earlier, always winning.

Speaker: And granted, I don't see. anybody else winning it in the nfl because i think it's come become patently a qb award at this point it would be you'd have to have a record -breaking season like jerry rice or Randy Moss or...

Speaker: Somebody running over 2 ,000 yards, which is very possible. by Jameer Gibbs or B. John Robinson, but... The fact of the matter is, I don't really like... So I'm going with all of you on the Destroy Josh Allen. That was pretty easy. Where I get stuck at.

Speaker: is because I really do agree with Mark. on the fact that I think Jameer Gibbs has a really, really good chance. to be offensive. player of the year because it is his backfield now. There is no more.

Speaker: you know david montgomery there is no more all these other uh backed back yeah deandre swift and whoever else you had there. in his time i don't even know if swift was was with him there But.

Speaker: And then you got defensive player, Will Anderson. I do agree, again, as I said earlier. cannibalizing of votes but there are other great defensive players and i just don't know If Will Anderson is...

Speaker: I mean, obviously, he's a dominant player, so I can't say he's not great. But I just don't think he's... Yeah, yeah, no, no, I'm not going to say nothing stupid. I just don't think his head's in tip. I just don't think he's heads and tails above the rest of the field.

Speaker: Yes, he's a dominant player. But if you're putting them against the other top defenders in the league. I think he's great. I just don't think he's like heads and tails above the rest. I do think at this... Huh? Good.

Speaker: Can I convince you, Omar? Eddie, Eddie. You good? at ease on that level. Sure, please. Here's what's great about Will Anderson. We're already talking about him in the same breath as Aaron Donald and Miles Garrett, right?

Speaker: in this conversation right So we're already having this conversation about him being in that same. Yeah. He's also probably about Six years younger. and Miles Garrett.

Speaker: And he's probably about eight to nine years younger than Aaron Donald. So very much so. If we're having this conversation about Will Anderson and the conversation of Miles Garrett and Aaron McDonald, and this man ain't even hit 25, 26 yet.

Speaker: Mmm. All right. I'm just saying this man got time to erase some names. Yeah. Well, I'm just saying, Mar, you just erased your own name because you just gave Bobby G the point by agreeing with Bobby G. I don't even know what else to do. I was stuck. And then you just gave the point to Bobby G. Bobby G, you can thank Mar for that one. Thank you, sir. Thank you, sir. All right.

Speaker: I was like... Your sacrifice. Thank you for your sacrifice. Yes, there you go. Any given sacrifice. There you go, Marv. Turn that right there. No, because I'm sitting there like... I'm sitting there like, you can.

Speaker: I'm not sure. In the back of my mind, I'm like, I'm not sure you want to do this, but you can tell me why. And then you started saying it. I was like, okay, all right. Well, there we go. No, it's great. That's tremendous. All right, cool. Well, that was an awesome one. Thank you all for playing along with me in my segment. Actually, we got it pretty good with that one. But let's move it on because I don't want to hold you all here all. Night long. Let's move on to our game picks.

Speaker: Yes! So here we are going to pick the games. Of the weekend, we're going to do college and NFL. Each correct pick is worth one point. on your season.

Speaker: total Cool. All right, let's start with it. Uh, Oklahoma. Versus... Michigan. Bobby G, since I take Jake as a Texas fan, I want to save him for that game. We will start with you on this. Who you got in Oklahoma? Michigan.

Speaker: Oklahoma is not close. There ain't going to be no clock malfunction. Michigan might get beat by 40 points. Okay. Yeah, like I said, Mr. Underwood, better start learning how to rock around and work on your hands because the NFL QB, you're not, sir.

Speaker: Woo! Yeah. Two months to save, man. Michigan. Wow. is not who we thought they were. I know you could say it was week one. No, they look terrible.

Speaker: Their offense has been inconsistent ever since Underwood's been the QB. He just hasn't developed into what they thought he could be. They thought he could be a Lamar type. And this kid is worse than Jalen Milrow.

Speaker: Oh,

Speaker: Yeah, okay. I'm going to have to go Sooner Boomer on this one. What? I mean, I do agree with you. He is way underdeveloped. He really needs more development. That's a fact that I have.

Speaker: Too bad they didn't let people stay in college for 10 years no more. Facts Mar, who you got? Oklahoma, Michigan. Oh, come on, man. We should skip this segment. Did we not just see what happened with Michigan this past weekend?

Speaker: It's true. It's true. All I'm saying is, is Brett Venable... But I picked this game before the week, okay? I picked this game last week when they were still... It was supposed to be 10 versus 16. I gotcha.

Speaker: But. One thing that... is not working in Michigan's favor. Great points by Bobby. underdeveloped unsure quarterback who's making way too much NIL money for what he puts out on the field. Facts. Big facts.

Speaker: You know what happens when you have those type of players go against coaches who are great defensive coaches like Brett Venable? they get absolutely destroyed. Mmm. Hey, Bobby. It ain't going to be 40 points.

Speaker: This might be a route route. This might be. Oh, 70 on that ass like Miami Dolphins on the Broncos type. Oh, damn. Wow. Wow. Take that hot shake. Take that.

Speaker: I hate Oklahoma, but I'm going to give Oklahoma that. I can't even defend Michigan. They're going to get their ass whooped. No, I agree. You can't do what you did at Western Michigan. and we just talked about it for and then come up and expect us to think you're going to beat Oklahoma. That ain't going to happen. All right, Jake, we'll start us off. This is your game.

Speaker: Texas versus Ohio State, huge game here. Who you got? Hook them horns, man. Let me tell you something. Arch. Rights is wrong last year, last season.

Speaker: Practically. lost a defensive battle. I think the final score was 7 -14. It was a great game. But let me tell you something. Arch ain't losing this one.

Speaker: I'm gonna tell you right now. I got this at least 34. 21. They routed him. I think they route them. This is at least a 14 -point win. I think they're going to bust their ass easily.

Speaker: I believe in Arch. I know he's pissed off. I know Steve Sarkeesian's pissed off. And let me tell you something, Jeremiah Smith. Put that boy on the seatbelt because he ain't doing shit this game.

Speaker: I'm calling it right now. He ain't doing a damn thing this game. What now? Less than 90 yards catching. Yep. Put the seatbelt on him. You got to strap in, buddy. You're sitting down. But that proves how good Jeremiah Smith is. He said, Under 90 yards. 90 yards for anybody is a great fucking game. You know what mean? All Mark, who you got?

Speaker: Yeah. Oh, man, that was wild. Hey, Jake made sure that that number didn't sound too crazy. He was like, hold on. Now, This one's tough for me.

Speaker: because this is a big game early in the season, too. Alright. I'm going to go Texas because if I'm saying that, I'm just going to be in Heisman Trophy.

Speaker: You know. Conversation. You got to start stacking up your signature wins. And I'm not saying this. Adams. To be funny, I'm just being honest.

Speaker: Can somebody name me an arch? I mean... winning game. or moment. Mm. Not anything I can remember, no. You're right. He doesn't have one of those Heisman moments yet.

Speaker: That's what I'm saying. You got to start building it. Got to start building. And taking down a good Ohio State team would do that. So... Now, do you think it's going to be low scoring like last year, or do you think it'll be a high scoring affair? No, because now they're in this. You're in this hemisphere of kind of playing each other on a regular occurrence now. Obviously, they had to deal with it. each other.

Speaker: you know, home and away. And I'm pretty sure they're going to renew that contract. I hope they do. Because it gives us two. you know, big. university's plan.

Speaker: early in the season. And I love that. Right. Because it doesn't affect you because you can still get into the college football playoffs with two losses. It don't matter no more. So why not? Yeah. you know compare yourself to some of the better teams in the nation so I respect them playing each other.

Speaker: It's just that. Add familiarity. And... Ohio State always has a good defense as well. It's just that I need Arch to make the plays when he has to to make sure that his team gets to go. And if he does that... I still consider that as a Heisman moment. And with the SEC going to nine conference games now, we're going to start to see three lost teams and maybe even at some point a four -loss team.

Speaker: get into the playoffs, especially if we keep expanding. You know what I mean? Oh, yeah, if you keep expanding. Okay, okay. I see where you're going. But, I mean, even now you're going to get three lost teams because of the nine conference games in the SEC. They're going to start fighting for that now, you know what I mean?

Speaker: Depends on the quality of loss. And again, and who they lose to. If they're losing them. Mississippi State. That's true. in the damn room. break. Get your ass down with Mississippi State.

Speaker: That's true. Bobby G, who you got in this game? Oh. Wait. Take your drink. Did he, does he drink?

Speaker: You know? Maybe an occasional drinker twice a year. Maybe three times the most. Yeah, send me some of that because you're crazy, bro. You think Texas is going to do it?

Speaker: Ohio State. Is... Far and away the most talented football team. in the country. It ain't even close. They were that last year. That's why them not winning the national championship last year was embarrassing.

Speaker: And let's look at this really they've lost what five games over the last three years or six games You know what happened? Half of the teams. Half of the teams that beat Ohio State have in common?

Speaker: What's that? What's in the top 25? No, they play for the national championship. Oh, wow. Okay, good set. And my... All Betelhound State all played for the national championship.

Speaker: Whoop. I'm sorry, Texas ain't that this year. They good, but they're not going to play for a national championship. So with that being said, I don't see them beating Ohio State. I'm not saying Ohio State's going to dog walk them or blow them out.

Speaker: I believe Arch has a good game. But like you said, they can shut Jeremiah Smith down, bro. We got to kiss Chris Henry Jr. Like they got dude after dude after dude after dude.

Speaker: So yeah, you can shut one down and it don't mean nothing. they're not going to shut down the most important person which is julian sand He's shown he's grown. as well.

Speaker: since last season. So, yeah, just too deep, too talented. I think they're going to Texas in a good game. I don't see it being.

Speaker: more than a 14 point game i think i think it would just be very entertaining like 31 -24 or something like that, 38 -31. You know, a good game that everybody can rest their head on.

Speaker: Hmm. And well, the spread is, uh... Let's see. The spread is one and a half. If my draft kinks, Texas is actually the one and a half. point favorite here, the over -under.

Speaker: It's 48 and a half. Now, they are playing at home in Austin, so that makes sense. You trust that QB over there? You trust that boy? What's the name? Julian? What's his name? what's the boy's name insane there you go there you go trust that boy You trust him? Yeah.

Speaker: Again, I trust him. best roster in the country. Okay. Remember, he got to throw it to those guys. I don't think we let him. He got to get accurate. Arch has that same problem.

Speaker: So he got to throw it to his guys. There's 11 dudes on the other side who aren't going to let him. I was going to do that. Get ready. I will say this. I have to agree with both of you because... Yes, Ohio State does have the most talented Complete roster. in the country.

Speaker: That being said... Uh... Arch Manning, why he's my Heisman pick, why I picked Texas. to win is because they're not far behind. On. a roster than Ohio State. They went out. got Cam Coleman and all these other huge pieces, Hollywood and all these other huge pieces in the offseason that make their team more complete. On top of that, The team immensely improved.

Speaker: Last season. I keep repeating this stat because of how good it is to me. But Arch Manning had 20 touchdowns and two interceptions. in the last six games. when his offensive line had vastly improved.

Speaker: as the season had gone on. So. I agree with you that Ohio State is the most complete team, but I think that Texas gets revenge this weekend. Now, my pick doesn't count at all, but I'm just giving my opinion. I think Texas actually... uh gets revenge and gets to win this weekend i think it's going to be a hugely high scoring game they're saying 49 I think it's going to be like a...

Speaker: Like a 38 -35. Maybe even more. Maybe like a 41, 38. I think it's gonna be a shootout. I think that these quarterbacks are growing. And while both defenses are good, I feel like the atmosphere. I feel like the... The, you know, the immensity of the game, I feel like it's just going to get away from them and the offenses are going to show out.

Speaker: I could be completely wrong. It could be exactly like last year, but I just have a feeling it's going to be. much more high scoring this year. Ciao. Well, That being said. Update on the college game, it is 17 -10 SMU over Florida State. at halftime.

Speaker: That being said, let's move it into our NFL. Picks. for the week. We got four games this week instead of the normal three because we do have a Wednesday night opener and a Thursday night in Australia. I was not going to put the Australia one on there.

Speaker: Because I felt it wasn't fair because they have to go so far and they might not be that great of a game. And, you know, teams could play bad because of the flight and all that. I decided. Y 'all are the experts and I should put it in there and see what you say. So. Let's get it going. starting off with the Opening night game, a rematch of the Super Bowl. Bobby G coming back around the horn. The UC Hawks Patriots, who you got?

Speaker: I got Seattle, you know, it's banner night. They're gonna raise the banner If you watch Hard Knocks, they already got their rings. uh gorgeous rings by the way Oh, wow yeah they're gonna be hyped up they're gonna come out with their hair on fire the patriots. Yeah, they got a new toy over there and aj brown It's going to take, you know. a couple of weeks for him. him and Drake to get on the same page.

Speaker: I know Seattle lost some players on defense, and we'll see if that defense can at least get close to the level they played it last year, but this is just a momentum thing. They're going to come out on fire. It's tough to win in Seattle already.

Speaker: excuse me add on to the fact that they're going to be in a celebratory mode all the family's going to be there this is going to be a big party i think they want a close one uh at home Yeah, I agree with everything you said. I don't think it'll be close.

Speaker: But I do agree with the homecoming and everything like that. You know, it should be Seattle's too. But I'm not the one voting. Mar, who you got? Mm -mm. Yes, Seattle. Right. You said that very unenthusiastically. I'm really not enthused with this game. I just saw this. Oh, wow. Okay. At all. At all.

Speaker: I literally just saw this in February and I was one of the most boring superheroes. I mean, that's a big fact. That is right. i mean obviously bad bunny did his thing but besides Besides that...

Speaker: I wasn't a fan of the Super Bowl, and I'm not a fan of this opener. I'm like, why are y 'all giving this to us again? We literally just saw this. It seems like that's become their thing, though. Like, every year now they're just doing the Super Bowl rematch as the first game, right? It seems like that's become a trend.

Speaker: I hope not I can't remember what it was last year I... i thought it was okay not a big deal In my opinion. I don't think Drake has done enough to, well. Obviously, we haven't seen it yet, but... I... He got it. You would like to shake off that playoff run, man.

Speaker: And that was terrible. while he was playing. Right. No, you're right. And some of that terrible football was against good defenses. I know Seattle's lost some players. What? The core in... See you.

Speaker: pieces that was there last year doing the damn thing is still there. So, that. I think they're going to give Drake May hell again, man. Give me Seahawks. I'm not.

Speaker: Let's hurry up and get this game over with. I got Seattle as well. I'll add that in too. This is the worst game I could think of. Let me tell you this also real quick. Patriots did not get better to me.

Speaker: grabbing A .J. Brown. Doesn't give me any woo -ha. thinking that they're this good now. In fact, I got them really falling back. What makes it worse is in the Super Bowl, it's a neutral field. Now you got to play in the 12th man?

Speaker: I got to play 12th man? Come on, man. it's even worse So this game is not enthusiastic. I wish they would have gave me a Ram Seattle game, something like that. Week one.

Speaker: Give me something. This game is going to blow out. I agree. I think I agree with you both more. They should have gone with a different game. Don't we play the Super Bowl? Not only because it was a bad Super Bowl, but just because we just saw that. So unless it was like a tremendously excellent game, then yeah, go for the different. I think that would have been good. L .A. versus Seattle division.

Speaker: Now they have L .A. and San Francisco, so it's still good. Yeah, I see what you're saying there. All right, cool. Let's move it on to the next game, the 49ers, the aforementioned 49ers versus the Rams.

Speaker: Here. in Australia. Again, they're gonna have a long flight over and be playing in the morning. So it'll be nighttime here, but it'll be like... I think like 1030 in the morning.

Speaker: 10 30 thank you uh in the morning that's crazy for football players. So I don't know how this is going to go, but we'll see. Jake, start us off.

Speaker: I got the Rams. Niners are injured already. Shocker there. practically half the teams I mean, I'm looking at my fantasy. I'm looking at everybody's fantasies and I'm seeing just questionable all over Niner players.

Speaker: Shocker. I think the Rams route them. I think this isn't even in game. I think this is at least. I'm going to go 35. 35 -7. This is a bad. This is about to be bad. I don't think this is a game at all.

Speaker: I think... It'll be close at the beginning. Kyle Shanahan always has a tendency to make his team play a little better. But I want you all to remember this. They lost Robert Sala.

Speaker: Robert Sala kept those games closed last year with the Niners. A lot close. And they still have yet not fixed their... offensive line issue and i can't name a receiver that i'd be afraid of against them at all And the way y 'all talked about this Rams secondary, that they're about to become the second coming of the John O'Madden team, I better see them lock them up. That's all I know. So this better be a lock -up session because I can't name a damn wide receiver for the damn Niners right now.

Speaker: All right, there you go. Mark, what do you got? Uh... Man. You know, no surprise. Obviously. Me and Bobby and A -Roddy kind of did our pitch last week. Well, me and Bobby did, yeah. Regardless.

Speaker: There was some things that we talked about. And Bobby put me on to this is that, uh, San Francisco's been up. out there. They already been out there. They've been in Australia. They left. I mean, I would hope so. Oh.

Speaker: I... I would. If I was Seattle, I would have probably done the same thing. And for me, I mean, we're all creature of habits. you got to get in our routine. And so by the time this game gets played, hopefully San Francisco has already acclimated to being in Australia for a couple of days.

Speaker: Got your body's used to feeling. the difference in the time. And that's a huge time difference. Like so. I think that plays a part in this. I'm going upset alert.

Speaker: And 49ers. Get the win and the close game. Wow, nice. But we also can't forget they are division rivals. They know each other.

Speaker: Thank you. So just blow out there. Jake is talking about he definitely sipping or smoking something tonight. So I don't know what you want. What you talking about? Kyle Shanahan has been a thorn in the side of Sean McVay down there every year.

Speaker: even when he don't even have great San Francisco teams. he always finds to... a way to be a thorn. Charming Bane's ass. So. All I'm saying is when you got familiarity with your opponent, He knows how to coach against Miles Garrett. He knows how to coach against Aaron Donald.

Speaker: He's seen Miles Garrett, even though they're in different conferences. He's played the Cleveland Browns team in two years in a row. He's Team Mouse, Gary. I know how to coach against him. And what was that stat you gave me? How many times he stacked Brock Purdy in those two? Two appearances, one time. Okay.

Speaker: One! He knows how to game plan a blocking scheme to block. Miles Garrett. He knows how to. uh, fill up a blocker scheme against Aaron Donald. The only question is...

Speaker: How the hell he gonna come up with a scheme to block? Both of them motherfuckers at the same time on the same field. So I don't know. Yes. He gonna have to figure that out. Yeah. Look. I just think it's going to be a close game.

Speaker: And I know it sounds weird, but getting yourself acclimated to getting the routine, you feel a lot comfortable, feel a lot better. It's lit. Ori. mentally. We got to remember.

Speaker: Football ain't 100 % physical. Hmm. It's a lot of mental shit that goes into football, baby. So I'm rocking with the Niners. And Mar, I wasn't trying to be condescending when I said that, because I actually assumed...

Speaker: that both teams have been out there for a week already. I didn't know that the Rams had just left a few days ago. That's crazy. There's no way. They still do. I would do that.

Speaker: Oh, they still haven't left? No, they're leaving tomorrow night. There's no way. There ain't no way out. There ain't no way! You're going to find me out the night before a game.

Speaker: So I get one day to acclimate? Nah, uh -uh. That's horrible. You know what that is? That's... That's potential health mismanagement. That's a potential lawsuit. That's potential CTE. factors because you got people coming in slow into an NFL game when reaction speed is the most important thing.

Speaker: Keep your head on a swivel. You can't do that. when you ain't getting no sleep and you flew 24 hours. Yeah. Bro, that's literally probably at max. So if they leave tomorrow night, which is Tuesday night.

Speaker: Right. And that game's not tilted. thursday night or All right, so Friday. It's Friday. Yeah, but I'm just trying to keep it compared if it was Thursday night here. So that's two, two, maybe 48 hours. Minimum. to acclimate your body. I don't think that's enough.

Speaker: i don't think that's enough It's not. I agree with you. Bobby G, what you got? Wow. Yeah, me and Mark talked about it last week. Yeah, Fortnite has been there. For a week now. I think that's a good strategy on the coaching staff.

Speaker: They're as healthy as they're probably going to be all season. Would you say?

Speaker: So, yeah, I also, I'm taking the 49ers. to win. Speaking of Miles Garrett, remember Miles Garrett is... dealing with knee inflammation all training camp preseason.

Speaker: Uh... We don't know how many snaps he'll play, if he'll play at all. Same thing with Aaron Donald. Aaron Donald is traveling with the team. But he might not play. So we may still have to wait a week to see with this.

Speaker: Super Team looks like. The second thing, I agree 100 % with the travel. Awesome. Sleeper. you know information i looked up with they usually say It takes a day for every hour.

Speaker: of trash. for your body to recover that's just you know the generic information that i found in looking it up so if that is true The flight from California to Australia is 14 to 15 hours.

Speaker: Shit. So that's almost two weeks. So even the Niners who've been there for a week. Still haven't been there long enough for Abe. to fully recover for your body to recuperate. So try doing it on. Yeah.

Speaker: 2 -3 days. No, that's crazy. Big facts. Yeah, we all know the best time for teams to steal games. usually beginning the season or when a team is getting ready or coming out of its bye week or right before the playoffs where a game may matter for one team. May not for another. So I'm going with the 49ers to steal one in the early season.

Speaker: And but. I think this loss will propel the Rams to becoming who we think they will be Way to go, Carl. Yeah. Yeah, we'll see. And then, yeah, Kai Canteen said... Circadian rhythm is going to be off. That's completely correct. Look, I went to Ireland.

Speaker: for a wedding a few weeks ago and it was a seven hour flight and granted it didn't take me seven days and i think even nfl players And granted, that's generic information that Bobby G, like you said, I think NFL players will recover a lot more quicker, too, than most people. It probably took me.

Speaker: a few days. before I was kind of like, you know, finally caught up on everything. But I also... go to sleep very late so it kind of worked out for me because my going to sleep was on time when they kind of went to sleep so it kind of worked out. So I guess it depends what time you go to bed, too. I go to bed at 3 in the morning. Very true.

Speaker: I mean, when I was... i was in the air force and i spent time in germany the advice that i was given when i got there was for the next couple of days, stay up as long as you can.

Speaker: Yep, that's what they call this.

Speaker: Okay, cool. Well... Yeah, there you go. Mar, since you haven't started very much, we're going to leave the last two for you to start. Cowboys Giants start us off here. Uh...

Speaker: Man, Cowboys, definitely. I'm definitely rocking with the Cowboys. I just think they are. I think they He actually might be... One of the better teams in NFC.

Speaker: I just love what they're doing. I love what Schottenheimer's building. the culture he's building. He seems to be more of a disciplinarian. and not a pushover, which I respect.

Speaker: And I didn't expect that. Uh, I think he's getting buy -in from the players. They got a George Pickens problem. They got to let this contract get to whatever the hell this situation is at. You don't never know. As Jerry Jones always does.

Speaker: Eh? And now, I mean, if George Pickens goes out there and puts up $1 ,200 in about 17 days, somebody's about to pay him a lot of fucking money. And...

Speaker: At. I think. if it's improved. And luckily, they get the Giants. which The Giants could be a middle -of -the -road wild card contender if they actually do it right.

Speaker: But they got two players that they're counting on that really don't know how to take care of their bodies. and they're both important. They got a running back and a quarterback all in the backfield that do not know how to take care of their bodies.

Speaker: So I don't think they'll be around in contention for too long it'll be shooting and and uh fun poke at with the means for the next Four, five, six weeks. But once we start getting to Thanksgiving, I don't even, I don't know if the Giants will be in the conversation just because I don't think their quarterback and running back are going to make it. 17 games. Big facts. Big facts.

Speaker: Bro, those two are going to be some of the most injured players in the league if they keep playing the way they play. Jake, who you got in this one? I got Cowboys as well. I agree. I think the Caleb Downs grab that they did in the offseason was huge.

Speaker: I think their defense is gonna be a lot better. I'm not hating on the Cowboys this year. Even though I have a wife that is such a huge Cowboys fan. Can't stand it.

Speaker: But... You got to be real. You got to be fair. i think they're going to show up here's where i do think they will fail a little bit Every time they're, for some reason, when their defense goes high.

Speaker: The offense comes back to earth. Their offense will come back to earth. So... a canteen. Come on. Joe Milton. You worried about Joe Milton? Back up.

Speaker: Yeah. Hey, screwed him up. They did screw him bro. What happened? I didn't hear what happened. What happened? He practically put on a show the past two weeks in preseason and they cut him.

Speaker: Oh, yeah. He's on the practice squad, though. Oh, okay. Practice squad, man. Get that guy a good $700 ,000 a year, man. No, no!

Speaker: No! Y 'all gotta understand. I know not everybody's a good fan of that, but the man puts up numbers. That ain't no scrub. I know that.

Speaker: I know that guy. If not, at all. I know he doesn't. Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen level, but he's... He's right under now. Don't do that. Hey, buddy, he right under there. But my thing is, it's like...

Speaker: I know he played well. It was the preseason. They were shopping him. They were shopping them. They wanted him to play well. They set him up for success. And then when somebody called, hey, man. even though Minnesota probably should have called and said, hey, man, I like that Joe Milton fella.

Speaker: Well, you know, what's the asking price? And I don't think nobody called or... Personally, I don't think nobody gave Jerry a number. that he liked.

Speaker: or a conversation. And so he was like, we'll just put him back on the practice squad. Come on, man. We can't be worried about Joe. His agent did him wrong.

Speaker: Yeah, A .J., they never heard of the Miami Dolphins or the Atlanta Falcons. People like A .J.? Yeah, A .J. signed with the Cowboys. you know, don't really need a starter, don't need a backup.

Speaker: That's crazy. Who you picking, Bobby? That'll probably look like Drewski before the season is over. Wow. I'm in the greens. They got the Cowboys as well.

Speaker: Actually, I think this is the perfect opening opponent for the Cowboys. They have made the improvements on defense. Now we just have to see if it's legit, right? And I think the Giants have. the weapons in the perfect place to test.

Speaker: to see if the defense is legit. You know, we've got a rebuilt secondary. They got some wide receivers, you know, who can fly out there and make moves. They got a quarterback who can give them the ball and they got a mobile quarterback to see if that line can keep containment.

Speaker: And they got a decent running game. That should check them. The Cowboys are just more talented. Right. and more experience so Give me the Cowboys. Yeah, Cowboys, man, look, my dad is a Cowboys fan, and we were talking about it, and he's like, man, if we can just have a middle -of -the -road defense, our offense is good enough.

Speaker: yeah we have a chance no one's like yep you're completely right so we'll see what happens all right The big game of the week, and we brought these two on to argue it out, so I'm just going to ask Bobby G for his quick pick first before we back off. And let these two go at it. What do you got, BG?

Speaker: If I remember correctly, I think I had the Broncos winning this one early. although I think the Broncos and Chiefs will split on the season. yeah i got him coming out of the gate my home's just getting back you got to see what he is But I do like the moves that the Chiefs made in the offseason, like the distance the Broncos made. Wow.

Speaker: Yeah. Good opening of the week, but I got Denver real quick. All right, right. Now, ding, ding, ding, the matchup. You have all been waiting for the main event of the evening.

Speaker: The Denver Bronc! Close! Represented by Mr. I take Jake versus the Kansas City Queefs.

Speaker: Featuring... Wildcard Marr. Wildcard, start us off. Defend your team. This will be the only time that me and Jake can't stand your ass with your radar. It's the only time me and Jacob ever agree, and it's always going to be fuck the Raiders. All right.

Speaker: Now that that's out of the way. Look. Hmm. And we're talking about... So... What are the most important things? in football. offense, defense.

Speaker: Special teams, head coach, quarterback, all that good thing. Okay, quarterback, I think we got an advantage in that one. I certainly... No, for a fact we got an advantage in that one.

Speaker: I mean yeah. All right, head coach. All right. My coach got bound. Now, freedom hangs. Damn. Your coach got it. one of them things and a whole bunch of And a bounty gate.

Speaker: Well, he definitely got that. it Man, he had a whole bunch of them. Under 500 seasons, New Orleans with a Hall of Fame? What the hell? Facts! Big facts.

Speaker: Wow. Okay. Okay. So there's two advantages already for the Chiefs. Uh... Okay, running back. Oh, man.

Speaker: I, I, Man, we just got the best free agent running back. Hell. Gave him some good money. I think we got the advantage there because I don't think there's nothing over there in the backfield. J .K. Dockery stayed healthy. Uh...

Speaker: K .J. Harvey, he was cute, but, you know, he's not enough to scare nobody. Cute! Thank Wide receivers. Okay. Oh, man. I love the Jalen Waddle, man. That was good. That was good.

Speaker: That's a good pickup. Love it. Be nice if you had a quarterback to give him the damn football, right? Huh. Okay.

Speaker: Oh. Okay, I give the wide receiver advantage to the Broncos. You got question marks over in Kansas City. You got question marks in wide receiver. Okay, cool. So that's an advantage for Denver. Okay.

Speaker: I would give the advantage. Defensively, to Denver. But Jake help me out is is a Franklin Myers still in the Broncos before? No, he's not. That's a third string defensive tackle.

Speaker: No he wouldn't. No he wouldn't. he helped y 'all he helped y 'all in the inside just a little bit i think he did much Wait, oh Nick Benito, how's his health? Is he going to play Monday?

Speaker: I'll be playing. Don't worry. I'll be there. He gonna be a little bit gimpy. Oh, okay. Oh, man, Cooper, your other start.

Speaker: Defensive player. Whoa. He's on the commissioner's exempt list. So he won't be playing Monday. Oh! Yeah. Your star defensive, Nick Benito, who's a pass rusher. Bye.

Speaker: How will his ass in the arrowhead on Monday night? You're second. Best defender. Oh! He collecting the check at the crib. He ain't playing. And you expect to get.

Speaker: That's that great wall of... Missouri. in front of Patrick Mahomes. The Great Wall of Missouri. Don't you mean Kansas? Nah, great Rolla, Missouri, because we playing in Missouri. We ain't in Kansas yet. We got about five more years, then we'll be in Kansas. That's funny as shit. All I'm saying is right now, there's a lot of things not in the favor of the Broncos.

Speaker: I will also mention that the same Broncos team that was at full strength last year came in the Arrowhead. On Christmas night or Thanksgiving? It was one of them. It didn't matter. We were already out of playoff contention in Mahomes, so it was probably Christmas.

Speaker: Already hurt. We're already at a playoff contention. In that same... Good. Denver defense struggle with Chris Oladokun. Uh... Y 'all might not know who Chris Oladokun is.

Speaker: He was our third -string quarterback that y 'all were struggling with last year. Third string. And the only reason why he was playing is because, one, my homes got hurt, and so did our backup, Gardner Minshew. And y 'all struggle with his ass.

Speaker: Mmm! It's all good. Hola. Again. Y 'all know me. I'm not a conspiracy theorist. I'm a dot connector. So I got my... Leave them. Peace. Defender, Gimpy.

Speaker: My second best. Ain't even playing Oop. Oh! My best, my third best last year is on another team in Franklin Mart. Who's getting after Patrick Mahomes? Who's bringing the pass rush?

Speaker: I mean, just help me out, Jake. You just let me know. So with all that being said, The defense rests its case that the Chiefs are going to sit here and embarrass them Broncos on Monday night.

Speaker: Yeah. packing. We don't. Roll y 'all up in them packs like y 'all do in Colorado. and spoke our asses back to Denver. Get the hell on out of KC. Matter of fact, matter of fact.

Speaker: We gonna smoke y 'all like a... We gonna smoke y 'all like a rack of rears. Because not only do we play great football in the state of Missouri, in the city of Kansas City, we also is the barbecue capital of the world. So not only is we going to smoke ribs, we're going to be breaking them too on Monday night.

Speaker: Really?

Speaker: What do you have to say for yourself, Jake?

Speaker: You know... guys. i loved it man yeah you know mark maher just i loves it he just he's great you know You always feel bad for the guys that think that. It's like Washington Wizard's Michael Jordan right now. That's what I'm looking at.

Speaker: Because... Let's call perspective to where it needs to be. has Pamela Holmes look like? The Pat Mahomes we've been afraid of the past previous seasons?

Speaker: He's absolutely right. That Christian Akoye or what was that? quarterback's name you said? Akoye, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback from 1994? Wow, that's crazy. Exactly, I don't know the quarterback.

Speaker: He actually... was a lot better quarterback because if you travel back that last year we did get to play mahomes We ended up beating him. We ended up beating them when they absolutely needed the win.

Speaker: when they absolutely needed to win this game because they were struggling bad. So, I love how he went down the breakdown, and I'm not going to do that to y 'all guys. You know, Bo Nix, the fix is as good as it gets.

Speaker: I love what he's done. He's done great things already. But let me add this in real quick. Just like I said, your offense... Your offensive line ain't been so good. recent years. I've let go of some people. Didn't trust some people.

Speaker: I don't think we need much to get to Pat Mahomes. I think we just need the bare minimum to get to him. In fact... I honestly believe that was a mistake of y 'all grabbing the Super Bowl MVP running back.

Speaker: Kenneth Walker really didn't do much. I think Zach Charbonnet was a lot better than him. if we're really calling a spade a spade. Awesome. That Andy Reid talk you were talking about.

Speaker: Let me tell you something, man. Andy Reid. I think he's starting to see the writing on the wall. This guy's about to retire in the next year or two. And I hope you see it too. It's kind of sad.

Speaker: Because we saw what a great dynasty is. We're now looking at the Brooklyn Nets with Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce. Whoa! That's what we're looking at right now currently. This is not the same team. I see Travis Kelty. kelsey running out there screaming around now he's married congrats Congrats, Travis.

Speaker: I don't know if you really are just there for a paycheck now. I honestly believe so. In the end, You still got Pastor Tan, the best corner in the league. You got the best white boy. Riley.

Speaker: On the other side, white boy Riley, you know Riley Moss, the man himself. Two lockdown corners. And don't get me started with Jaquan McMillan, the guy that made sure.

Speaker: that Josh Allen thought he had a catch, and bloop bloop! Boy struggled and grabbed that ball so fast from that wide receiver. We had the ball just like that. I think our secondary will do a great job of holding them.

Speaker: Yes, we do play in Arrowhead. But man, oh man. Maher, it's getting a little depressing. You know what was the funniest quote last year? Chris Jones was getting interviewed and I laughed it He straight up looked into the camera, and I know you remember this.

Speaker: He said it's like Denver knew everything we were going to do. You've become too predictable now. Did you think getting Eric Biennemi was going to change life for y 'all? The guy's been ass over there in Washington for so long. We don't know what was going on with him. He went out and... Brought them back and looked like shit still.

Speaker: I don't know what's going on. I don't know if that was a glimmer of hope or what. But Pat Mahomes ain't in. In fact, I wouldn't even call Pat Mahomes a top five quarterback in the league. I don't know if I can call him a top seven quarterback in the league currently. Wow. Wow.

Speaker: I think Monday Night Football, Mar. I think Monday Night Football more. It gets proven to you. That Pat Mahomes will fall. And as my favorite quote,

Speaker: Tequila Chief. You need a bow. And we got them. And boy, this time... We ain't just coming with a bowl. We got a penguin to dance on your ass too.

Speaker: We got the penguin to dance on that ass too this time. So I love that we're in Arrowhead. Because we're going to just when they thought that they got a chance now. We're going to see a very depressing week one season opener.

Speaker: out there in Kansas City. And let me tell you something. I know what you said earlier, Bobby. But if we beat them this game... I don't know about you, but get out the broomsticks. It's going to be a clean sweep again this season.

Speaker: Out there. With the Broncos versus Chiefs. Because they better have a chance to win. They better win. Because if they don't win this one... They ain't beating us in the mile. Ha!

Speaker: Massacre. And you know that and I know that well. Come on, Mom. Come on, Lockwood. That ain't looking the same, bro. Pet ain't looking the same.

Speaker: That ain't the same cat. That must be a Texas saying. Wait, wait. Okay, so... Here's my thing with Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker: He's getting compared. to himself. Everybody saw my old hiss. He's having down years, down years. Good. Compared to him? Mmm. You're right. absolutely right comparing to himself.

Speaker: The last couple of years have been so bad because... His career started so great and so high. And so when you don't reach that, level every year It looks like you're... you're decreasing or or You're not playing as good as you.

Speaker: No, when you're comparing to himself. Of course he's not as good. His best year. Oh, he's worse here. Ain't even career highs for Bo Nix yet.

Speaker: What are we talking about? What are we talking about? Bo Nix is not nowhere close in the conversation. Listen to Herbert! HOOK IT! Mention before I even come close to a Bo Nix.

Speaker: I'd rather even talk about Jaden Daniels. hobbled ass, can't stay healthy ass before I even get to a bone nicks. Hey! Ew! If I was starting a franchise right now, hey man give me Jared Goff Bo Nix is on the board I don't care give me Jared Goff What? What are we talking about? Hey, man, give me that stack of 38 -year -old ass with the bad back. Give me him.

Speaker: you don't you don't want bones Be that guy. Damn! Yo, your Godbo niggas can't even crack the top 10. I would take that Prescott. 10 times out of 10 before I even bother to think about getting a damn bonus.

Speaker: Yeah, it could. Y 'all different Broncos fans. Y 'all so fixed on Bo. And that's cute. He couldn't make it. At Auburn? Well, let me go try it at Oregon. And he wasn't even no damn good at Oregon.

Speaker: And he gets an approach. He gets with a Hall of Fame coach in Sean Payton. They arguing every week because he's trying to tell this smart motherfucker to shut the hell up. I'm the one with the Super Bowl ring and just listen to me.

Speaker: If you listen, let me get you somewhere. Come on, man. Hey, I'll get you. y 'all Y 'all do this to yourselves every year. Y 'all gonna keep... Fixing ourselves.

Speaker: Always the fix. He ain't He's too Jacqueline Hyde. I'm not saying he's trash. I think the guy has some good quarterback in him. He'll turn around and give me some bullshit in the same game.

Speaker: And I'm like, bro. You sure? Y 'all keep talking about, oh. But he can give me Jekyll and Hyde. I... I can't trust that. I can't trust that.

Speaker: I couldn't. I'd rather trust Lindsey Clancy with my kids before I trust Bo Nix. Oh my god! Oh, shit! Kill the commercial.

Speaker: What's up with that? So y 'all can keep rocking your bow as much as you want. But until the proof is in the point that he can be. Oh, my God. The quarterback. I ain't trusting Brooklyn.

Speaker: Hey, trust him, bro.

Speaker: Uh, everybody, this is why you come to Ball & Buds, because we give it to you raw and uncut. Raw and uncut sports and entertainment. We don't leave nothing on the table. But there were two very problematic statements that may have just been said. You cut that. And it wasn't even that one. It started with Jake with some Texas saying, it had to be a Texas saying.

Speaker: The only way you kill a chief with a bow? What kind of stereotypical ass? colonization, getting rid of the Native Americans kind of shit as that. Only some cowboys from Texas would say some shit like that. And then Maher come in with a very relevant, but possibly very, very controversial. uh lindsey clancy statement we're touching on everything here for y 'all uh people today Oh, gosh.

Speaker: Whoa. There you go. Now I'm involved. All right, anyways. And before we get moving on, just to let everybody know, we also are going to do some other picks. We're going to do these quickly because I don't want to keep these guys here all day, and I still got trivia to do. What we're going to do every week is we're going to do a lock of the week. and upset basically a lock is your lock pretty straightforward But the points are there. And then your upset has to be plus three or more, underdog.

Speaker: and the points are also there All right. Go ahead. Bobby G, give us your lock and upset of the week. Upset of the week, I'm being Homer. I got Cleveland over Jacksonville.

Speaker: Okay. There'll be no Cleveland over Jacksonville. Lock of the week, lock of the week. I'm going to take Baltimore over the Colts. Even over.

Speaker: Baltimore. The Colts are going to win like three games, so yeah. That's an easy lock, bro. Yeah that's easy. Thank you. And Cleveland, you don't play Jacksonville, you said, right?

Speaker: Yep. Alright, cool. All right, Mar, what are your locking ups and upset? The easy lot for me is... Chargers over Cardinals. That's easy, bud. Yeah, that's pretty good.

Speaker: And then I... Sheesh. Like I said. Okay, I guess it's considered an upset. because of the spread. I got this. Falcons at a Three and a half.

Speaker: underdog according to ESPN. Alright. Come on, man. I don't. Y 'all gonna miss Mike McCarthy, bro. I'm going to miss Mike. card. Mike McCarthy is about to have y 'all mad as hell. Y 'all gonna be like, man, he got us so mad. We got us. Mixing up our mics. Where's Tomlin at?

Speaker: What time is it now? Yeah, I won't miss mine. I would miss Mike Tomlin. Y 'all go miss my town of Pittsburgh. I don't know. Why y 'all three and a half point favorites? Y 'all got up.

Speaker: The last time we saw the iteration of. Mike McCarthy and Aaron. Rodgers. Y 'all was at each other's throat pretty much. Y 'all couldn't stand each other. Mmm.

Speaker: He got the coach fired because he... You was going rogue on the play calling and shit. Because it might spark you. Because Mike McCartney is our offensive coach. Offensive -minded head coach. He like calling his plays.

Speaker: Well, he was forced to get an OC in Dallas because that's Jerry Jones. My point is, is that, come on, man. Come on, man. Mike McCarthy. I'm not buying a Mike McCarthy.

Speaker: Aaron Rodgers. this bird team to do any damn good this year. I think they're going to be absolute cheeks this year. And how to heal you. Ooh, booty juice.

Speaker: And let's not forget. This Atlanta Falcons defense is actually pretty good. They were at one point in time last season not too far from Denver and Houston.

Speaker: at the beginning of the season, then about second half. A little bit, but... Our point is, is that All they got to do is their job. And hope. Hopefully we get whatever the hell happens with two. You don't understand a quarterback job, but. The thing is...

Speaker: I can... I trust. Uh, Kevin Stefanski to come up with a good offensive scheme to highlight. what is best tour. And you actually have some damn good weapons.

Speaker: on that offensive side. Ever heard of B. John Robinson? whoever came up with the street. Three and a half point under. an adult. I mean... They gave Drake Lunyon some money. He's solid as a wide receiver, for sure. He's ascending. He's on his way up. I think he's getting better year by year.

Speaker: And we actually saw a breakthrough with Kyle Pierce last year. He might. I don't think it was a fool. Coming out, Marty? is what we've been waiting for. But it was solid. is a lot better than what we've seen from him lately.

Speaker: Amen. Upstate City. Give me that dirty bird. Beagle. We going to... We're going to dirty it up like there's more medicine in this thing, bro.

Speaker: Ugh. All right, cool. In the future, I am going to have to make that a plus. I might have to make that plus three a little more. But that was a good pick either way. Because college, that's probably not going to work at all. So I'm going to have to figure that out. But it's a work in progress. Jake, who's your upset in your lock of the week?

Speaker: My lock is the Bears. I don't trust the Panthers. I think that they're about to fall down. Oh, and by the way, it doesn't have to be NFL at the time. It could be college too, but I'll fix that next week. Go ahead. Okay.

Speaker: Yeah, I got the Bears. They're going to lock that one up. That's an easy win. The underdog, the one that I think they keep the point upset. Now you're playing Carolina? Yes. They cover, right? Are you saying the cover?

Speaker: I'm saying they have to be more than three or more underdog. There are three or more, yeah, underdog. And if they cover, they're good, right? Yeah, well, they have to win the game. They have to win the game.

Speaker: That's what I'm saying. They've got to win the game. I'm going to go Saints. I'm going Saints over Lions. Whoo. All right, cool that's crazy i didn't i would all right if you want i think it's something not to sniff on this year Tyler Shaw. No, Spike.

Speaker: Hey, maybe you never know. All right, cool Well, I will update those in the video with the pics and I will update those points after the week Let's move it on. Two. The final. Snarkify. Snarkify. Snarkify.

Speaker: All right, trivia time. Let's get this moving. Let me go ahead and hit y 'all with a screen share. Boom! And...

Speaker: There we go. All right, so here's our little Jeopardy window here. We're going to have Brief college questions for NFL questions.

Speaker: And then one final question, which is going to be college. It'll vary from week to week. It's a very much harder question. is going to be that one. All right, cool. So let's move on. Let me get this over here. Pow.

Speaker: We go. Cool. And... Here we are. boom All right, cool. So. College football for one point. We're going to start off with the one -pointer.

Speaker: Oh, this is a two -pointer. Let me go back. I don't know why that did that. Let me go to the one -pointer. Which annual... Oh, sorry Bobby G. I saw you. I got it. Still.

Speaker: Okay. Well, let me read the question first. Hey, you got to leave your ass off. Which annual rivalry game is played between Alabama and Auburn?

Speaker: Oh, I bet. What is it? Iron Bowl. Yes, it is the Iron Bowl. All right, there you go. He knew the game anyways. I'm not worried about that. I have to figure this out. Leave me alone. All right. Anyways. College football for two points.

Speaker: Bobby G, you already know the question, so that's not really great, but you did raise your hand first. You know, whatever. Alright. Yeah, which player at war recognizes the nation's best running back?

Speaker: Doug Walker or what? The Doak Walker Award. Great job, Bobby G. Very well done. All right, college football for three points.

Speaker: Which player became the first freshman to win the Heisman Trophy? Yeah, that's right Do I lose points if I'm wrong? Oh, you do lose a point if you're wrong, yes. I got it. I'm just messing with you. Go ahead, too. Jake, you went first. Go ahead, Mark. I mean, go ahead, Bobby G. No, you won't lose points. I'm just messing with you.

Speaker: That's how they're taking it Okay, good. Charles Woodson. That's not true. Nope. That is not true. Not Charles Woodfield. Oh, I know now. Hey, there you go, Mark!

Speaker: The answer is Johnny Football, Johnny Manziel. Who'd you think it was, BG? Before I was thinking Tebow. Oh, okay. So, yeah, good thing you didn't go. NFL football.

Speaker: Yeah, yeah. NFL football for one point. Which stadium hosted the first ever Super Bowl? Yes, Jake. Wow, very quick. Go ahead. Uh... Which stadium? Well, you got to know it. Bucks. Bucks.

Speaker: No. They weren't even around. Go ahead, Mark. Oh, I thought it said which person won the first in their own stadium in the Super Bowl.

Speaker: Damn it. That is a lot of words added in there. That is definitely not what that says. But, okay. What did you say, Mark? Where was the L .A. Coliseum?

Speaker: Ooh, let's see Yes, the LA Memorial Coliseum. Let's go. Good job, Mark. All right. For, where were we? Oh, yeah, number two. Two points for the NFL.

Speaker: Who are the only two teams, Jake, the NFL teams to win Super Bowl at their home stadium. Well, Jake was jumping up and down for that one. Go ahead, Jake. Buccaneers and Rams. No, he was yelling way before. Buccaneers and Rams.

Speaker: Hey, Bobby, you have one second behind. You were. You were a little bit behind. But also, yell out loud too, BG, because not all the time am I looking directly at you because I'm reading the question. So yell so I can hear you too. If you just say yo, whoever says yo first, you can answer.

Speaker: because sometimes i'm not looking directly at you uh but yeah good job jake There's two points. For Jake. all right And... Number three. Three points in the NFL.

Speaker: What is the only NFL team that they left? Facing logo. Go ahead. pick The Philadelphia Eagles. I don't know how you knew that so quickly because it took me a while to think about that. But good job for you.

Speaker: and then finally the final sacrifice the big one for five points, which can get you right up that leaderboard. Which university has won the most recognized national championships in college football history? Now remember.

Speaker: Actually, I won't even say that. Go ahead, Jake. Who you got? Bam. Ooh, close! But no, Ma, who you got? What? Who, Mark?

Speaker: What a day. Notre Dame, that is not correct, Bobby G. Oh my gosh. The Ohio State University. The Ohio State University is not correct, so let's go back around the horn with a little hint here.

Speaker: It is not going to be a power conference team that is powerful now. This goes back all of college football history, so I think there were a lot of... Syracuse. Nope, not Syracuse. Nope. Y 'all can keep guessing until you get it.

Speaker: Go ahead, Papa. Just yell it out now. Not Oklahoma. It's not a power team. Not a power team. Not a power team now. Oh. Not able to do it. Army.

Speaker: Close, but no. Can anybody come up with this question? USC. How about this? They were in the Ivy League.

Speaker: They were in the Ivy League. All right.

Speaker: Harvard! Oh, no.

Speaker: Yale. Dartmouth. Yale! The answer is Yale. Yale has 18 NCAA football championships. Oh, yes, Bobby G.

Speaker: That's some bullshit. Alabama only has 16. Alabama's number two. at 16. Bobby G with the big five points there. All right, cool.

Speaker: So. let me get back to the board here let me close that out we don't need that anymore Great job today, fellas. I appreciate y 'all playing along with me on this first. I'll pause on that.

Speaker: Uh... Hanging out with me on this. on this first inaugural premiere episode and working with me through the... Through all the jumps and technicalities. Look at Scott Cope tuning in. We appreciate you, brother. Iron Bull was correct.

Speaker: Doak Walker was correct. Rose Bowl, yeah. LA Memorial Coliseum, it was called back then. Rams and Bucks.

Speaker: I know you were wrong. About Alabama, Harvard. And holy cross. Oh, those are good. Those are two different states. Yeah, Rose Bowl and LA Coliseum, two different states. Fuck.

Speaker: Why did I do that? And I know that because I hate USC. That was a Freudian slip. That was a fraud. It must be because I hate USC so much. Like, I dream about this sometimes.

Speaker: I know. I know. I should have known that. Believe me, it's a Freudian slip. But yeah, no, it was Yale. It was Yale, y 'all, because yes, it goes all the way back and it wasn't just... I mean, back then you got to think about all the teams that weren't as necessarily, you know, as good nowadays.

Speaker: But anyways, yeah. No, I really approve. Huh? What'd you say? like yeah yeah well yeah i've been around for that man 100 plus years Thanks.

Speaker: That too, yes. A team that has been around for a long time. But no, I really appreciate y 'all, gentlemen. Thank you so much. What an amazing show. Thanks for spending two hours with me. Everybody out there, thank you as well for spending the time with us. I will put an updated leaderboard.

Speaker: on Instagram. Tonight. Let me go ahead and add up all of these points right now. I can tell just from looking at it, Bobby G got that five -pointer, so he's going to be in the lead.

Speaker: And it looks like Jake. is going to barely edge out Maher just on trivia, but we'll see at the end. I'll share one a little later, but anyways. Let's go ahead and get out of here. Let everybody know where they can find you from. Hot take, start us off.

Speaker: Alright man. TE, we ready. Total evisceration. Can't wait to bust your ass again. Get ready. Hey. The season's here, man. We're ready. More. Don't be crying, bro. I can't wait. Speaker: no no no no All right, here we go. Boom we maximize that bad boy for you Uh oh. Hmm, don't know why I can't... Out.

Speaker: Whoa whoa whoa! I wanted to maximize it. There it is. Alright. Cool.

Speaker: Wait a second. There was a way to match. There it is. Full screen. All right. So this is the history. Of the beginning of football, most people do not know. Let's see what this is about here. I got that there. Boom. People don't know this. The NFL was founded in a car dealership, 1920 Canton, Ohio.

Speaker: A group of professional football team owners needed to get organized. No fancy boardroom. No lawyers. No fanfare. They pulled up chairs in the showroom of a Hupmobile automobile dealership. and started arguing about football.

Speaker: Pay limits, schedules, rating each other's rosters. By the end of the meeting they had formed the American Professional Football Association. Jim Thorpe, the greatest athlete in America at the time, was named president.

Speaker: Two years later, on June 24, 1922, they renamed it the National Football League. The entry fee to join? $100. Nobody actually paid it. Today, the NFL generates over $20 billion a year.

Speaker: Built in a car dealership in Canton, Ohio. by a group of men arguing over a sport most of America hadn't heard of yet. Most people don't know this. The word soccer was in. So there you go.

Speaker: It was, there you go, it was invented in a... Boardroom there, uh, in, uh... In a little old city with... 12 old guys just arguing they had enough money to buy football teams, but apparently they didn't even put in the money.

Speaker: For the teams. Those teams now, by the way, that they could have bought for $100 or... Did buy. $400. Those teams are now worth... Billions! of dollars. with a B. NFL teams, I said the other day, the Cowboys lead the rankings. They're valued at $15 .5 billion. for one NFL franchise. So again, The teams have just...

Speaker: increased in value exponentially. since they started the league. you know almost you know 100 years ago that was 19 So. about 85 years ago.

Speaker: or whatever it was now thank you shout out to you Faye loves nature. Dash Hawkeyes. Again, y 'all tapping with her. I appreciate that. Yeah, first episode ever of the game show. I'm pretty proud of it. It went as smooth as I thought it was going to be. i did not think it was gonna go that smoothly.

Speaker: The Jeopardy portion, I got to work out a little bit the trivia. just because uh It didn't go as smooth as I would have liked, and I don't have a buzzer. So I kind of just got to rely on hearing whoever yells out first.

Speaker: But it went pretty well. It went a little longer than I wanted. My plan was originally for an hour and a half. But it went two hours and 20 minutes. So we're going to have to cut down on the number of topics.

Speaker: and game picks. Every week and actually there probably wouldn't even have been i did three i did three topics i probably am only gonna do one going forward, maybe two.

Speaker: But anyways, no, it was a success. I am happy with what happened. And yeah, hopefully everybody will start to watch. and more people will catch on to. Penny! given Sacrifice. Yes, your favorite.

Speaker: college and NFL. football, game show. Brand new, we'll be bringing it to you every week at Ball and Buds. B -A -L -L -A -N -D -B -U -D -S on YouTube. Speaker: And so since that's the case, I have to make the schedule every week and figure out what times people can go. So the day in time. will vary from week to week so it's not like this is going to be in every Tuesday thing. I'm gonna try my best.

Speaker: to make it Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. night every week at like 8 Eastern. But again, like today, it could vary. so just make sure y 'all stay tuned to hit smash that notification bell uh so that way You know when we go live. I appreciate you.

Speaker: that can help someone out in society, someone out in community. just to make us all live a little better, love a little louder. and have, you know, more of a utopia.

Speaker: then we have now, as you, yes, that's the perfect way to say it. Kindness is free. Okay. Smiles. Part 3. And it's good for you to give it out to anybody.

Speaker: That. You can. You have a great night as well. Thank you, Fay. Shout out and subscribe to Faye and Rock Chalk, like I said. They are partners. They share us. We share them.
