Introduction and Hosts' Ambitions

00:00:01
Speaker
This is the Garage Avenger Podcast.
00:00:12
Speaker
Hello and welcome to the Garage Avenger Podcast. I'm Justin, trying to share the joy of building my non-street legal death machines in my garage in hope of one day making a living off it.
00:00:25
Speaker
And I'm Kieran, trying to turn my carriage-brewed horse piss into a world for new, renowned brewery. Fuck you. are Kieran Brothers, with a passion for creating the wild and unexpected, ah such as horse piss.
00:00:44
Speaker
Horse piss beer, it's a new trend. It's a new trend.

Podcast Atmosphere and Guest Hosts

00:00:48
Speaker
Taking you through an everyday account of what goes on in our garages. So welcome, everybody.
00:00:55
Speaker
Kieran. Welcome. It's been a couple of weeks. I've had to bring in guests to take place. Well, you know, the people the people enjoyed the fresh air of...
00:01:09
Speaker
ah other voices on this podcast. What did you think about the other voices? Have you had a listen to what they said? I did listen. um um was trying to think of something mean, but I couldn't think of anything mean. actually I thought, actually, um ah Thomas was really nice to hear, actually. really enjoyed the podcast episode.
00:01:37
Speaker
And Kristen, not so much. yeah Yeah. I've heard enough of her. No, no. She's really lovely. It was nice to hear you guys together, too. So that was ah that was really nice. So if you haven't listened to those episodes, if you somehow jumped ahead, ah go do yourself favor and jump back.
00:02:00
Speaker
At least two episodes. Yeah, i agree.

Brewing Experiments and Humor

00:02:02
Speaker
m Kieran, what are you drinking? Today I'm drinking Dickens Cider.
00:02:13
Speaker
No, sorry. That wasn't bad.
00:02:20
Speaker
Lynn lynnne loves a Dickens cider. certainly um ah ah Sorry, for those who didn't know the reference, there's some YouTube video. Just YouTube Dickens cider.
00:02:34
Speaker
There you go. There's your evening gone. ah No, this is a it's actually cider, believe it or not, today. And this is something that I picked up the other day. Sogna Cider.
00:02:49
Speaker
Guest. Guest. It's called. You've changed, man. You've changed. Yeah, know. But, you know, sometimes, to be honest, I didn't pay for it. So, one, if I i wouldn't, I don't think I'd pay for cider.
00:03:04
Speaker
and I really don't think I would. so Well, can't you just get like apple juice and throw a bit of yeast in it and it's all good? yeah Yeah, pretty much. I mean, yeah, it's not as simple as that, but yes, you can.
00:03:16
Speaker
So, you can listen to that effervescence in there. There you it's um It's no dick in cider.
00:03:28
Speaker
ah But, yeah, it's a it's nice clean looking cider, that's for sure. And it smells like cider. And tastes like cider.
00:03:41
Speaker
It's a 4.7. It's not very sweet. It's not that Swedish-style cider, <unk>tis it's like a semi-dry. um You know, it's a nice palate cleanser between triple IPAs.
00:03:54
Speaker
Yeah.
00:03:56
Speaker
ah So there you go
00:04:01
Speaker
On that note... I'm gearing up to brew a triple IPA. I've never attempted one before. So that's going to be interesting.
00:04:13
Speaker
Is that 12%? 10 plus, yeah. Holy smokes. by ten plus yeah holy smokes And um and it's like it's kind of like it's like a sourdough starter type thing. Like you feed it every day with sugar.
00:04:27
Speaker
just interesting. Yeah. So it's like a little little pet project where you go in every day and add sugar to it. and Or some some version of malto sugar or something similar like that.
00:04:40
Speaker
So... Yeah. Oh, that sounds fun. if It sounds like you're like creating some sort of ah growing a plant or something, you know? Yeah, it's a little bit Well, that's that's fermentation for you in a nutshell, actually.
00:04:53
Speaker
So that's going to be fun. I've realized like I bought all this mosaic and Nelson Savin hops they have in the freezer. like, fuck, I've got to use all these.
00:05:04
Speaker
So I'm like, taper it is. That's... Triple IPA. um And yeah, so that's going to be fun. and What's going to be interesting about that is I've got I'm going to try and do like this style.
00:05:19
Speaker
like So typically the more malt you use, the darker the beer becomes. Right? So when you start getting up in the like 10% kind of range, um you start talking about some pretty dark beers actually.
00:05:34
Speaker
if you Even if you were just to use plain Pilsner malt, which is one of the lightest malts available, it would get pretty dark. So I've got like some tricks up my sleeve to try and make it like lighter than Cosmic Christ.
00:05:48
Speaker
Oh, interesting. But 10%. Wow. Okay. That's going to be fun. Looking forward to that. Yeah. So, actually, now I heard the brewery is a fucking mess and I've got to go through and clean it up to get things up and running again. I haven't really touched in probably two months nearly.
00:06:09
Speaker
Really? Okay. Yeah, it's been a while. So, there you go. But that's sort of good though. like It's nice to get things cleaned up. Yeah, it's a good feeling. Yeah, it's a good feeling. Like I walked into the shop just now to record this podcast and I forgot that I cleaned it up before the weekend.
00:06:28
Speaker
And then you're like, ooh. Yeah, it's super nice. I'm ready to work now because as I don't have to worry about moving stuff around. or Yeah. so I do like that feeling. So I maybe need to be more disciplined with regards to cleaning up ah when I'm working.
00:06:45
Speaker
so Yeah. after At least at the end of the day. Anyway. um Damn. I'm not drinking today. No, you're not. Do you know why? Tell us what happened. What what happened, bro?

Personal Stories and Brewing Strategy

00:07:00
Speaker
i I had a bit of a heavy Saturday.
00:07:05
Speaker
What, were you lifting weights? Yeah, I was. I was lifting 9% bloody Belgian triple brewed by somebody we know. who who's that guy you know did it did it get the job done did it justin yeah i went to a like a school parent's party yeah and we got there a bit late and i so i bought a bottle of triple you're like i gotta catch up
00:07:38
Speaker
Kind of. Everyone was pretty sloshed by the time we got there. yeah ah So yeah, i just I just sucked that bad boy. Dude, I'm sorry. and Anyone that doesn't or hasn't tried your triple, they're missing out. like It's such an easy drinking Belgian beer. A lot of people...
00:07:59
Speaker
think that Belgian beers are like sometimes hard to drink or, you know, they don't like the the the taste of a Belgian beer, but like your triple, so easy. And every single person I gave it to, I didn't tell them it was yours, by the way.
00:08:14
Speaker
I said, do you want to try this triple? And everyone that tasted was like, wow, this is great. And then i was like, ha ha, surprise, my brother brewed it, bitches. And ah they're like, oh, well. Put it here at viennoapplaud.com. Yeah. I slip business cards into their pockets. so um No, it's it's really good. And i like i was sloshed, dude. I smashed that bottle so quick.
00:08:41
Speaker
Yeah, I mean that's the thing. It's so dangerous it's so so easy to drink. It's like drinking a 5% lager. Mm-hmm. And you're just like, you can kind of taste a bit of booziness behind it, but it hides it really well, right? Oh, totally.
00:08:55
Speaker
And then you're just like, before you know it, you're like, oh, I'll finish this gloves. and I was like, i was... i was dripping out the dregs basically.
00:09:06
Speaker
and I was like, have I finished this already? What is going on? And then all of a sudden they wanted to play some game where I had to like think straight and talk normally. And was like, yeah, yeah.
00:09:20
Speaker
I was like, oh, crap. Oh, it's like a Norwegian.
00:09:27
Speaker
Nice. Nice. It was really good. and yeah youth I think if anyone hasn't tried it yet, go out and find it because it's really good. That would be lovely. That would be amazing support if you haven't.
00:09:40
Speaker
ah Get on it. So this it's still available in the Wine Monopoly. So, um oh, actually, there might be some. I just relaunched it in a different category.
00:09:51
Speaker
So it might have i have I might have to check this right now and see if it's even findable. um But, yeah, so it's a it may or may not be searchable at this point.
00:10:09
Speaker
So so would tell me, explain why you moved it into a different category. m The different category, it's areas' not, I can't find it right now.
00:10:20
Speaker
um The different category refers to like this, um basically there are different categories within the wine monopoly system um in terms of which stores can and can't buy, whether customers can buy directly and have it like delivered or, you know, all this kind of stuff.
00:10:47
Speaker
And so if they, so basically I moved it from one category to another in hope that some more stores would pick it up basically.
00:10:59
Speaker
So That's what I've done. And there's just like a lag in the system when you cross it over to the next ah the next product launch adding or launching.
00:11:10
Speaker
ah It disappears from the system for a bit. So ah whenever you're listening to this podcast, just just check it anyway if you're interested. ah might may appear after this podcast has gone live. So there you go.
00:11:25
Speaker
Nordic Triple, check it out. What has been going on in your world besides reclassifying the Nordic triple? um It's going to be it's been like a lot of ah this has been a lot of turmoil, actually.
00:11:41
Speaker
Turmoil? Explain, Kieran. Let's hear
00:11:47
Speaker
it. If I'm honest, I actually can't say. There's a lot of stuff that's still in tension. And if I drop something on this podcast ah that gets out, it could make headaches for me. So i'm not going I don't want to talk about it, to be honest.
00:12:08
Speaker
Okay, fair enough. So um there's been a lot of problems and a lot of problem solving and a lot of ah frustration.
00:12:20
Speaker
So that's all I can say at this point. um on the On the upside, some new brewing possibilities are ah popping up.
00:12:31
Speaker
So ah some other places that I might be able to produce beer at. Great. um One of which is at Armundsen, which I've been working a little bit at.
00:12:43
Speaker
Mm-hmm. And so the premise there is that they can only produce 2000 liters. In today's craft beer market, that's kind of dangerous because as a small producer, you got to be able to move 2000 liters of something. And when you're talking about especially fresh IPAs, it's a bad, bad move.
00:13:06
Speaker
But what I can do is brew the same base beer and then treat it differently fermentation-wise and onwards.
00:13:18
Speaker
And then I get two separate beers. Oh, interesting. Okay. So can I can dry hype it differently. I can use different yeast strain. I can add things. I can filter it through coconut, whatever, you know.
00:13:31
Speaker
it's ah so there's So I can basically launch two beers at the same time from the same base beer. Yeah, okay, so you could basically, ah so for example, we've talked about the chili beer.
00:13:45
Speaker
It's similar to a West Coast IPA, right? So basically, I've got to launch it as a West Coast IPA without chili and a West Coast IPA with chili. Yeah, great.
00:13:55
Speaker
Okay. Right. That's cool. And yeah, so that's going to be kind of fun to see what happens. How is this chilly Holy Ghost coming along? Has it been brewed yet?
00:14:10
Speaker
um Yeah. That's part of the difficult situation. Okay. I mean, I can't talk about it at the moment. Fair enough. Fair enough. Everyone's on the edge of their seats. What has happened? I need to know.
00:14:23
Speaker
Yeah. um Well, and I can't. But in maybe maybe in in the coming weeks, I'll be able to reveal a little bit of what's happened there. So, yep.
00:14:35
Speaker
So that's it pretty much for me. Really? Come on. There has to be other things going on. What about, you know, what about you know ideas coming up. What about the day job at Armisen? How's this going? Come on, let me in the, let me in. I can't waffle in or about my stuff always. Come on. e etc I don't know if the people are that interested in my, in my everyday boring shit.
00:15:02
Speaker
Uh, I mean, uh, I've been helping out a lot at Armisen in the last two weeks. Um, there's been some people away, so that's, uh, been nice. Um,
00:15:14
Speaker
Nice to be there and working with lovely people. And the kids are good, really good. Like yeah my youngest Liam now is starting to come out with words, which is really nice because he's been like, a in comparison to Mackenzie, my oldest, like he's He's been a bit slower with the language uptake.
00:15:40
Speaker
So it's kind of been quite frustrating because obviously, you know, he... He can't communicate what he wants. And so now, like, there's just every day there's about maybe five or six new words he just starts dropping in.
00:15:54
Speaker
oh cool. And, like, the funny thing too is, like, there's no, like, half pronunciation. It's just, it's, like, four words. Like, today he said, bosh, shorts.
00:16:06
Speaker
And what was the other one? Jordbad. So, like, you would buy, like, strawberries in Norwegian. and That's a pretty hard word to say for a little, to not even two-year-old. So, like, I'm pretty impressed with the little guy.
00:16:22
Speaker
So... you've got to give him a lot of English words to throw in there as well. i he's ah He's really good with English, actually. Yeah. So, um yeah, it's ah it's good fun.
00:16:35
Speaker
he's ah He's a little... Little bundle of energy at the moment is fun. um Yeah, and then Lynn's been working, my wife's been working a lot, um a lot of evening shifts and things like that, which mean that it's just been me ticking alone with the kids.
00:16:54
Speaker
it's it's a so yeah, it's everyday boring life, unfortunately. and i know how you feel a little bit. Kristen's been away ah last week and then...
00:17:08
Speaker
This week too, we had a handball cup. So, you know, the week has been busy and, you know, you feel like you don't get anything done during the week, you know, and you have the weekends to work, but then you don't because you've got a family to look after do all that stuff. And you don't want to screw your kids up that much because you're always working in the garage.
00:17:32
Speaker
i say It's a hard balance. I get that. Yeah. So, yeah I mean, that's pretty much it. Like, m Yeah, my hop plants are growing well in in

Hops and Content Creation

00:17:45
Speaker
the yard. That's fun.
00:17:47
Speaker
So but um i don't know I've probably mentioned it the podcast before, I think. I don't think so, actually. I've got hop bines. The term is bines, not vines. Bines?
00:17:59
Speaker
and Yeah, bines. didn't know that. Yeah, because they they have these little spikes on the actual Bine itself, the vine, my like Carrick thing, that grips onto whatever it grabs. Interesting. So that's why it's called a vine, not a vine.
00:18:18
Speaker
And um anyway, it's ah they're really, yeah they're really i mean, they take off. like It's crazy. like the I mean, they are the average close to 20 25 centimeters day.
00:18:33
Speaker
So weeds, pernicious weeds. Yeah. they Well, I mean, as quoted from, was it, which king was it ah in England, referred to it it referred to hops as pernicious weeds of society because it made beer more drinkable and people enjoyed it more.
00:18:56
Speaker
ah Did you know the term ales, you're drinking ales, refers to non-hopped? Like ah barley water, basically. I didn't know that.
00:19:08
Speaker
There you go. That's the original when you were talking about drinking an ale. It had no bittering hops or anything like that. Often they used like, you know, spruce tips or like, you know, juniper branches or um something rubbish that made it taste like arse piss.
00:19:26
Speaker
And so, yeah. and Interesting. So... There you go. and So that's that's pretty much me in a nutshell, bro. i'm not It's not very exciting, to be honest.
00:19:41
Speaker
People are disappointed. know, I know. Boo, Karen, boo. Well, come on. Just, you know, put me out of my misery and start telling how, I have to say, super impressed with how the video's gone.
00:19:57
Speaker
We haven't had a chance to talk about it on the podcast together. Well, I kind of did last week. Yeah, not really. But, you know, like I am. I'm super impressed. I'm um like, I'm stoked. I think this is this is ah the beginning of something.
00:20:13
Speaker
I honestly believe that. Yeah, but I think so too. That... Adds a little pressure on to my shoulders, I feel like.
00:20:25
Speaker
Because it did well. You know, like it's the best performing video. It's still doing well, Justin. Yeah, that's very true. It's still performing well. it's I think I get about 4,000 views on it a day still.
00:20:37
Speaker
Yeah. So, you know. And it only needs to be shared in a particular forum or a particular thing and then it just blows up again. So, you know. Yeah, I've seen a little bit of external viewage coming from like outside sources. So I saw Hackaday had written an article about me again. Yeah, cool. Which was super nice. The...
00:21:02
Speaker
the I kind of know the journalist through reaching out to him before. m and so he just picked he just obviously saw the video and then decided to write an article about it. So that was great. He didn't even talk to me. so Needs click content. Yeah.
00:21:19
Speaker
And then a motorcycle um publication called Ride Apart. Yeah, that's cool. I saw that the other day. Yeah. So that that was really kind of fun because the The journalist, she wrote it like like it really was.
00:21:40
Speaker
It's a fun project to challenge yourself. It's not about how it rides or the seriousness of it. It's just like, can I turn this hand truck, this moving dolly, whatever you want to call it, right, into a thing?
00:21:54
Speaker
And let's go on the journey on that process. And I thought that was really nicely written and I appreciated that. And from that came a bunch of other ah websites, basically copying her article, actually, which is a bit funny. There's like a Spanish like motorcycle website and a couple of other places. that Oh, by the way, Justin, I have to butt in there. You sound fucking great in French.
00:22:22
Speaker
Dude, how fun is that? says if you If you didn't pay attention to last week's episode, episode Justin was talking about the autodub function on on YouTube.
00:22:36
Speaker
Yeah. And you can just change the track and all of a sudden Justin's speaking French or Spanish or German. ah and is pretty fun though. The only problem is when when you have When it's voiceover, it works much better.
00:22:54
Speaker
When it's me talking on camera to, for example, Kristen, you can hear the original and then it just is slightly like, and it's the, my audio levels lowered.
00:23:06
Speaker
o And then there ah their, their auto dubbing is up higher. It's little bit shitty in that regard, but you can see if you are living in a country and you didn't understand English,
00:23:21
Speaker
how how that would work. Yeah, be fantastic. Yeah. Open is a world of content. So that was just fun. Just fun listening to me speak French and ah German. I think I did. I did it in i tried listening to me in Spanish yeah so or like ah Portuguese for the Brazilian Portuguese.
00:23:45
Speaker
You know, just fun like that, you know? Yeah. it's good. I liked it. That's, I think, in that way, technology is fantastic. So really cool.
00:23:55
Speaker
Yeah. Sorry. I butted in there. Yeah. I lost where I was, but yeah, a lot of great feedback. Um, a lot of anticipated people telling me exactly what I did wrong, you know, which is sitting now, the way, on, let me go. Cause it's like 180 odd thousand views. I think now,
00:24:16
Speaker
ah hold on let me go and because it's like a hundred and eighty odd thousand views i think no
00:24:24
Speaker
FYI, if you haven't watched the video yet and you listen to this podcast, shame on you. Don't say that. paul guys, people are busy, Karen. I'm yanking people's

Marketing Challenges and Rally Car Troubles

00:24:37
Speaker
chains.
00:24:37
Speaker
ah Just ah do yourself a favor and check it out. It's good fun. 520 comments. five hundred and twenty yeah Nice. And I've stopped answering to them too. So, you know, they're just lot of the same stuff coming through. But, you know, either way, lot of really lovely things, despite couple of bad things coming through about Kristen and myself. Yeah, you mentioned that. That's really disappointing.
00:25:10
Speaker
Yeah, but, I mean, there were a few and they, you know, I deleted them and I think people just want to stir shit, you know? It's a funny thing. But I think people just want to stir a bit of crap about, you know, and they they know they're being cheeky and and creepy, right?
00:25:27
Speaker
Yeah. um But generally, everyone seems to really enjoy the dynamic, which is nice because in the second, the the first World Rally Car video, that dynamics was already written in the script anyway, or it's not that I wrote it in a script, but that's how we did it anyway. Yeah. Yeah.
00:25:46
Speaker
ah So that's kind of nice knowing that people like that style and that's going to continue anyway in the next video they're they're going to potentially see.
00:25:57
Speaker
So that's been the biggest thing for me this week is the fact of this new video is finished. I haven't even given it to my patrons yet to watch, ah but I'm very so um very much struggling on the packaging because I end up going back and doing a deep dive just like you're doing on your nose right now, Ken. That's dry one I had to sort out.
00:26:26
Speaker
um Yeah, I did end up doing a deep dive into three d printed cars. And generally, they don't perform very well. Perform in what way?
00:26:37
Speaker
As in the get many views and people engaged in them. ah So even on like really well-known channels, these 3D printing car body or car parts don't do well.
00:26:53
Speaker
So it's very interesting. i Is that because it's like it's so far out of people's ability to think, oh, I could do that? Actually, I think it's because p a lot of people still don't know what a 3D printer does or how it works.
00:27:08
Speaker
Isn't that interesting? I think so. I mean, as much as we think in this maker world that everyone knows, like if you just set up a 3D printer on the street, people will be like what is that?
00:27:19
Speaker
What is that thing doing? So it just makes a plastic thing? How does it do that? you know so i think and And, of course, the other assumption is there's just some shitty plastic thing, who right? that The quality is not good enough for anything.
00:27:37
Speaker
So fascinating. Yeah, it is very fascinating. And, you know, they're talking to Thomas the other week about 3D printing and and how far it's come and you know, what you can do with it is just mind-blowing.
00:27:52
Speaker
And, you know, I use it differently to how he uses it. ah And I think it unfortunately, though Not everyone really understands it, and I think that's why it doesn't do so well. So the real problem I've had is like how do I repackage this to make sure my audience is interested enough to want to click on it?
00:28:14
Speaker
And the people that have potentially never seen my videos how do I get them to also click on this video? Yeah. And I've been up and down, round and round. And in the end, like lot of times you can't even trust what anyone else says.
00:28:34
Speaker
says to go with the gut. Because you have so many opinions, right? I i have a bunch of groups that I sort of, have talked with in the past about video thumbnails and titles.
00:28:47
Speaker
But I kind of gave up on these groups because unfortunately, you know, they come with mixed messages all the time. none None of them are like this is how you should do it, Justin, because this is exactly how it works. They don't even know themselves.
00:29:03
Speaker
right They're just having an opinion. and And it worked once for them six months ago. Yeah, and a lot of them ah don't have my type of audience either. So they don't really understand where I'm coming from.
00:29:17
Speaker
So even now I'm just not sure what I'm doing with the video and the packaging and title. At the moment it's the title is something like, ah no factory, no money, just a 3D printer and a rally car dream or something of this.
00:29:36
Speaker
you know And that was a chat GDP bloody suggestion and I kind of liked it at the time, but I don't think that's actually what I need to do. I think I need to go back to my original title, which is something like I 3D printed my dream car or something like this. you know It's really simple, just simple, like i I'm building my dream car from scratch or something like this.
00:30:02
Speaker
Or like it'd be like 3 million euro rally car for 300 grounds or whatever. Yeah. I mean, I tried that as well. Yeah. And I think that's really kind of where that title is with that no factory, no money. e Right. That's, and I have a thumbnail that has like the, you know, one of the rally cars doing this big jump and stuff. And it's like a, you know, million euros title above it. And then,
00:30:28
Speaker
There's my printed card kind of you know a side by side, if you know mean, comparison, half finished, and it it says mine across it.
00:30:39
Speaker
you I don't know if that's going to work, but it's interesting to get a lot of different opinions. And I really love the opinions from the kids. That's super interesting. That's interesting.
00:30:52
Speaker
What are the kids saying? What are the cool kids saying, Justin? No, so my kids, right? I often ask their opinions. Yeah, cool kids, though. I often ask their opinion because they're non-biased, right? They don't give a shit what dad's feelings are. you know the about Just cry silently in the garage afterwards.
00:31:14
Speaker
Yeah. a i'll give i'll I'll print out a couple of thumbnails. Yeah. And I'll just like lay them on the breakfast table in the morning yeah for the next day and I'll just get their opinions on it.
00:31:28
Speaker
what do you think of this which one would you click on and then and then sometimes they're used to it now so they're kind of like i don't really like that what that mean dad i was like it's interesting feedback they because they they think like most viewers would right like don't know don't know you know what is that like why and then so the one i had had like uh rally car side by side with my car and I had like a million dollars and ah and a title of mine, like I said before. But then I had like ah like a versus kind in between, you know like million dollar rally car versus my car. you know
00:32:08
Speaker
And Emma came with a great like query. She's like, so are you gonna race that car against your car? And like, well, no, no, not really.
00:32:23
Speaker
So she's she told me like that was lying basically on the thumbnail, right? I was about to say, I'm like, and I realized who who drives a Toyota? I have no idea. um yeah Who does drive for Toyota?
00:32:39
Speaker
Kale Rovampera. I don't even know who that is. I'm so out of touch with the rally world. Yeah, so he's like the maestro kid that you know started rally driving when he was six.
00:32:50
Speaker
Okay, yeah, you mentioned him, yeah? yeah And then you've got to Evans, Ilof Emmons. I don't know how you actually pronounce his. He's a Welsh driver.
00:33:03
Speaker
and Okay. And then you also have and Katsuta. He's a Japanese driver. Okay. Yeah. It was part of the deal with regards to Toyota being in the World Championship. They should have a Japanese driver.
00:33:19
Speaker
yeah Okay. But he's still good. like He's really good. But he't he hasn't won a rally yet, unfortunately. And then they have also Sebastian Auger, eight times world champion.
00:33:30
Speaker
Really? Auger on the team There you and he That name I do know. Part-time driver. What's he doing the rest of the time? Probably just chilling with his billions of dollars. I don't know.
00:33:46
Speaker
He's making a lot of money doing what he does. Fair enough. Yeah. yeah So, sorry I mean... It is a hard thing to work out and i probably will spend another week trying to work out exactly where I'm going to go with this title and video for this because I feel I have to get it right set up the series because this is going to be three videos or more.
00:34:09
Speaker
Yeah, of course. right Because it's such a big project. So I need to set it up right so that it kind of grabs the right audience and they can get engaged with it. You know you know that majority of people...
00:34:24
Speaker
we'll click and just go to the end. That's just how it is. you know way I'm guilty of it. You're guilty of it. Our listeners are for sure guilty of it, you bastards. ah ah i then you know So you know that really your attention, and you're only focusing on the maybe 25% to 30% of people that are willing to watch your video through.
00:34:48
Speaker
that's That's the way I think about it is like I don't care about the people that click in and jump jump to the end. Because they're not ones going to support me. The ones that watch the whole video through ah the ones that I care about.
00:35:02
Speaker
And so I need to make a video for them. And for myself, of course, right? But mainly for them so that they feel like they got value from watching this project.
00:35:15
Speaker
And so their thumbnail and title has to also reflect that. So it's ah it's a balance. But i but i havet Go on. Give us an update on the actual rally car project. How is that going? How's the 3D printing going?
00:35:31
Speaker
How's, you know, how close are we getting here? It's a freaking nightmare, dude. Yeah. I'm sure. Okay, brakes. Let's start with them.
00:35:43
Speaker
Oh, that doesn't sound promising. Okay. Got new master cylinders. Yeah. Worked a lot better with regards to pedal feel, but still and not gripping.
00:35:58
Speaker
What? And I'm like, what is going on? And I found, i looked at I kept on looking at the discs and pads and I saw that the pads and the discs weren't matched, if you understand my meaning.
00:36:09
Speaker
e So what I think has happened is the guy that had the go-kart before me has changed the pads but didn't change the discs. So the pads don't match the discs because they wear you know differently. Yeah, of course, yeah.
00:36:27
Speaker
the pads are only touching like on, for example, one front corner brake pad, it's like maybe 5% of the pad is actually touching the disc. Yeah.
00:36:38
Speaker
Really? Yeah. So it's very little like crippled force. I'm sorry to like point out the bit like, did you not check this before you dropped all this money on fucking new master sellers? Well, I know the new, I knew the master sellers were leaking.
00:36:55
Speaker
So i had to change them, right? There was no doubt about that. Hmm. It's just I refused. i thought maybe like I could bed in the brakes a little bit and maybe that was the way to fix it.
00:37:07
Speaker
But then I realized like driving this thing around at a zillion miles an hour and hoping that the brakes will bed in in time It's probably not the safest option for me. so so This thing goes so quick.
00:37:21
Speaker
So I decided, you know what? If I crash it, I'll be pissed if I didn't spend like the 4,000 kronos extra for the new discs and pads. So I'd rather spend the 4,000 kronos and buy the discs and pads than...
00:37:37
Speaker
They're not. So i I bought the fucking stuff and I'm pissed, but I just, you know, my credit card's fucking bleeding at the moment. um It's a nightmare to be honest.
00:37:51
Speaker
So I've got them. They came in the mail on Friday. I've just, unfortunately I've had a weekend where it's been very family focused and humble and drinking, ah drinking focused. Yeah. So,
00:38:05
Speaker
it's ah They've been on the bench during the weekend, and so my goal is to fit them tomorrow. Sweet. And hopefully everything freaking works. If everything doesn't, I've got to be pissed. I've got to probably lose it.
00:38:20
Speaker
Next week, Justin will not be part of the podcast due to the brain aneurysm he had. Yeah. The other underlying problem with the actual go-kart is I still think the gearing is wrong.
00:38:34
Speaker
And i I've been kind of avoiding it, not trying to think about it because i feel like, oh, crap, you know, maybe maybe I've got this wrong and like I'm going to have to really re-engineer the gearing side of things. Because it when i if I put on a bigger sprocket now, now I have to change a lot of stuff.
00:38:55
Speaker
Yeah. So I'm like kind of avoiding it. But so what I'm going to do is my goal is on Wednesday to go test these brakes out in Onlebu. Hopefully everything works and the brakes stop properly. you And then once I know the brakes work, then I can test the gearing and see if it's wrong. But what ah what I think it is that it's the gearing is too long.
00:39:21
Speaker
So it should be a lot shorter shifts in gear. ah So it should like be quicker shifts to get up to speed, basically. Yeah, okay.
00:39:32
Speaker
So what's happening is like ah you wind out first gear, you wind out second gear, and it takes a long time. You've got a much higher at the top speed. But chances of getting up to 200 kilometers an hour is probably very little.
00:39:47
Speaker
Not to mention, do you really want to go 200 kilometers an hour in a fucking go-kart that you have welded together yourself? Exactly. so I have a feeling that I really need to increase the diameter of the the ah the gear on the back, like a lot.
00:40:07
Speaker
Right. So chances are tonight whilst I edit this podcast, I'll be also looking at buying bigger gear rings e so to build onto this thing so I can i can basically change.
00:40:22
Speaker
And I think to be honest, I might end up buying one of these ah rings that you can change the size of the the gear anytime you want. You just undo a couple of bolts and they kind of like come off in in four sections.
00:40:36
Speaker
That way, if I get it completely wrong, I'll be like, oh, I've just got another set and I'll just bolt that on. you know Your credit card company is going to be really happy with you this month.
00:40:48
Speaker
I just have to say thank you to our patrons right now because I think this feels like the right time to say it. Because without my patrons, I couldn't afford half the stuff I ah i i do.
00:41:01
Speaker
And it is crazy because i this is a big gamble. you know I think I said to Kristen last week or I don't even remember if I said it on the podcast or not. But we're about 33,000 kroners deep into this. And then we've now, you know, Thomas hasn't sent me the invoices yet, but we've I've got about 20,000 kroners worth of filament on top of that.
00:41:25
Speaker
So we're at about 53,000 kroners on this project. It's kind of getting out of control. Yeah. And I really hope somehow we can get our money back on this project somehow.
00:41:37
Speaker
Fingers crossed. I just, you know i need to put it out to the universe for either an amazing amount of people want to support me on this project on Patreon, which yeah would be great, but also for sponsorship and stuff. That means listener. No pressure. But also sponsorship and stuff like that. So hopefully hopefully something will come up and something really fits well with my channel and and maybe they'll pay me And that that will help pay off the costs of this car. But right now, you're right.
00:42:11
Speaker
The credit card is filling up and you know I have to slowly pay it off, to be quite honest. yeah And I'm doing that through the help with my patrons. So massive shout out to all my patrons first, but ah like extreme shout out to the top tier heroes, Thomas Buckner, Mark Foster, Giannis.
00:42:33
Speaker
I keep on saying Clems, but it's Giannis. slit I can't even say it because I'm dyslexic. Speaking Norwegian. I'm dyslexic.
00:42:46
Speaker
He's from Latvia, so I can't... Oh, okay. so Speak speak la Latvian? Yeah, speak Latvian. yeah It's Kelms. Kelms, okay. yeah well I don't even know if you say it differently in in Latvian.
00:43:03
Speaker
Okay. Also, thank you to Ola Kjetteren.
00:43:10
Speaker
Kjetteren. Poor bastard. Well, you know, the other podcast calls him skitterin and he tried to tell me on a message that it was... Incorrect what Kristen would say, but I like to say it's Ula Shittaren now. So tough teddies. Poor guy. This guy's giving you money, man. The least you can do is pronounce his name right. why it's got it all out you send Justin a voice message with the correct pronunciation, how you would pronounce it.
00:43:44
Speaker
And he's going to pronounce it correctly next week. Never. And then a big shout out to Thomas Angel, who's ah also, like I said, mentioned last week, has upped his contribution to become a hero. So he's amazing.
00:44:02
Speaker
Amazing. Arthur Midgard, the Swedish maker, Mark Jones and Stian Seuss. And, of course, to my sidekicks, Arne.
00:44:14
Speaker
Sylvester and Thomas. Thank you so much. Um, those three guys, by the way, amazing people. I don't even know what I did right to, to get them to be sidekicks, but the fact that they want to be is amazing. And I'm super humbled by that. So getting back to my massive credit card debt,
00:44:39
Speaker
I, uh, We'll probably end up adding on to that this week by buying some sort of chain sprockets and so and so forth. The body, though, let's talk about the body. Yeah.
00:44:51
Speaker
Thomas has printed 42%, believe, oo of the body. have most at the moment. forty that forty two sent in tubs downstairs at the moment ah Now, I have a question. How are they marked so you know how to put them all together? I was about to get to that.
00:45:14
Speaker
Yeah. So he's marked them automatically. So it three d prints the the marking. I figured as much. Yeah. He's pretty good, that guy. Yeah, he's so amazing.
00:45:26
Speaker
um But it's it's basically marked with an X, Y, and Z. So if you think about it's like, X, Y, and Z. like so that late lay Yeah, the Yeah, the axis is, right? So it goes from the top ah from the bottom right-hand corner, so and there's five Xs, and Y is 11, and I think it's seven up for the Z. but Okay.
00:45:54
Speaker
So basically I've got to find the the part on its X and Y axis first. Do you like jigsaw puzzles?
00:46:07
Speaker
This is this is all right youtube jetto this's a lot easier than a jigsaw puzzle because it's at least marked where it should be. that That's true. And so, yeah, they're just finding the position of all these parts, basically, from the markings.
00:46:22
Speaker
I need to put it together first. ah Now, another thing is we've printed in PETG, which is a different plastic to PLA, which is normally printed for those who don't really do ah three d printing.
00:46:40
Speaker
The problem with PETG is that it deforms shape very easily when you're printing. Hmm. So...
00:46:53
Speaker
You might be asking, why did you choose PETG over PLA or PLA Plus? Well, the truth is it's more flexible. So this thing is going to be rather- Well- I'm assuming.
00:47:08
Speaker
No. Oh. So it's more flexible. So where we're worried that when we've- piece this thing together, it's basically going to vibrate itself and crack itself open if we know if we don't.
00:47:25
Speaker
Yeah. So if it's more flexible, hopefully it will tolerate twists and bends and things is a lot better, right? Then, of course, you've got its melting point is a lot higher.
00:47:37
Speaker
So PLA is like 60 or I think it's a bit lower than that, it depending, 60 degrees, whereas PTEG is closer to 90 degrees.
00:47:50
Speaker
Yeah, and when you've got like a burning hot two-stroke engine and exhaust inside that thing, i imagine heat tolerance is a factor. In addition to that, we're also painting it black.
00:48:03
Speaker
So if it stands out in the sun at any time, it's going to get hot as fuck. So yeah there's you in there sweating. but what I have a question though. What are you do for the windows? ah We're going to use polycarbonate.
00:48:18
Speaker
so Okay. yeah So that's another cost that's coming eventually is buying the polycarbonate and cutting that. I mean, you can pick up cheap at Bill Teamer. No worries. Well,
00:48:31
Speaker
Yeah, the polycarbonate Ed Beltim is not the best quality. I'm going to go... Wow, really? bill I thought Bill Tima sold quality merchandise. Well, actually, most of the most of stuff they sell there is acrylic, which is not polycarbonate.
00:48:49
Speaker
No, but they do sell polycarbonate because I have looked at this myself. just yeah So for the maybe for the side windows, I'll use the cheap stuff. But for the front windscreen, I think I'll use some fairly thick.
00:49:03
Speaker
When I say fairly thick, I mean like... three to four millimeters. e And then the windows, I'll probably use the one to two millimeters and for the sides, basically.
00:49:18
Speaker
So, yeah, it's a very, it's a flexible plastic, you know, it doesn't crack, which is good. So that's really what I want. ah So we're just going to fit that, hopefully. And that the other thing is it's going to be a nightmare.
00:49:33
Speaker
Two, we have to work out how to do the stickers. So if anyone if anyone could help me with that, like please stick your hand up because... Stick your hand up.
00:49:45
Speaker
Sorry. it's ah It's a bit of a nightmare because ah we even like I have to three d print the headlights and they should look like the headlights that are...
00:49:58
Speaker
Sorry, not 3D print. I have to print a sticker that looks like the headlights. so Because, I mean, we could 3D print the parts, but then you'd have to individually like paint them. And then you have to like, yeah it's easier just to 3D print the body and then make a sticker.
00:50:16
Speaker
But it's still a job, right? e So it is a big project and it will continue for months and months. And have my strong doubts that we'll be finished before end of July because, of course, we're also going on holiday as well.
00:50:33
Speaker
um Kristen... demands this of me, so I must do. I have kids and a wife to look after as well, unfortunately. So, yeah, it's it's a challenge, but we'll get there, and I'm excited to see what happens this week.
00:50:51
Speaker
Fingers crossed the brakes don't cost me more money, and we will see, I guess. Awesome. and I don't know if I had anything else on my list. Oh, yeah, I who had to make a push trolley.
00:51:07
Speaker
A push-start trolley. i Yeah. yeah and just saw a little like Insta story about this. so because the car is going to be three d printed, i don't think it's probably the best interest to be pushing on the plastic to get it started.
00:51:21
Speaker
Fair enough. Yeah. I mean, I'm sure you could like stiffen it up there and make sure that every when you got pushed, you pushed in the right places, blah, blah, blah. But I think it was better to to make this idea that I had.
00:51:35
Speaker
So the idea was that I had like these hooks welded on underneath the chassis. And then you have like ah basically a hand truck or a moving dolly that you push into the hooks and they lock lock in.
00:51:46
Speaker
Yeah. And you can push. And then soon as the car starts moving and you stop, yeah the trolley just falls out, right? Yeah. Yep.
00:51:57
Speaker
I pulled this. We had this like trolley or hand truck in the garage in the other garage. o And I'm like, oh I'll just use this. you know We never use it. it's you know It's just always sitting there. Kristen had it from her old job.
00:52:13
Speaker
And so I had it in the garage and I'm about to get to work on it and start welding these these hooks onto it. o And she's like, hey, what are you doing with my trolley?
00:52:26
Speaker
it yeah You better not be chopping that thing up. no Kills you. Yeah, I know. So I had to work out how to create this push trolley without welding anything to this. So I came up so i came up with a solution and I think it turned out great.
00:52:44
Speaker
Cool. Yeah. So everything that is attached to the trolley can just be removed with the... with a forceful hand or a or a hammer.
00:52:55
Speaker
Nice. So that was good. But I did experience one thing. Before I came up with this ah idea, like that had the hooks were designed to be on the go-kart.
00:53:08
Speaker
and i And I kind of welded up the hooks and everything onto this pipe and I was just going to weld this pipe into the chassis. And something in my head just went, this is not the right thing.
00:53:20
Speaker
This is not good. you don't like I don't like this. e And ah rather than like, ah, fuck it, I'll just weld it in. was like, you know what? I'm just going to leave this for tonight.
00:53:33
Speaker
I'll come back to tomorrow. I came back in the next day and I was like, what was I thinking? these like There's these little pipes that are kind of on the back of the go-kart already, which the hooked the the hooks that I made fit perfectly on.
00:53:53
Speaker
I'm like, oh, you idiot. why did you Why were you trying to weld something onto the chassis itself? like Measure once, cut twice, swear excessively. that what you say, Justin?
00:54:10
Speaker
I'm lucky that I didn't weld those parts in because in the end that was the wrong decision. So i'm i'm I just want to say to people out there, like when you feel it in your gut, it's wrong.
00:54:21
Speaker
Just listen to your gut. Yeah. Because that that'll steer you the right way a lot of the time. Can I just say this? You're talking about feet what I feel in my gut. It might be the cider.
00:54:34
Speaker
But,
00:54:37
Speaker
but you know, you know what i feel i feel in my gut I feel in my gut that some some big, big people in the maker community, like the biggest you can think of, are going to start reaching out soon.
00:54:56
Speaker
but yeah i I don't know about that, but I am very open to everybody. So when it happens, you can think about this podcast. And I said it here first.
00:55:09
Speaker
I'll take oh great take credit. Karen put it out in the universe. It's going to happen. Why not? Why not? So, um yeah, that's exciting. Now, tell me, Justin, there's a lot of things that frustrating you this week, but what's giving you the shits this week?
00:55:26
Speaker
Oh, dude.
00:55:29
Speaker
ah Overpriced churros.

Local Fair and Music Recommendations

00:55:34
Speaker
Who does number two? one four chierro Cheerios? or chi what is What did you just say? Cheerios. Cheerios.
00:55:45
Speaker
Oh, Cheerios like the... Spanish donut. Yeah, okay. yeah ah Okay, yeah. Tell me. Tell the people. So this week has also included, ah weekend I should say, has also included going to ah the Tensburg Mesa Festival.
00:56:02
Speaker
which is like ah ah in Norwegian they use the word tivori, but it's like a fair with like rides and stalls things like this, right? And they've got you know vendors there that sell things and they were selling churros, right?
00:56:21
Speaker
yeah. One little, like, one cone. You get, was it five churros, I think? like I think it was. Like stick donuts with cinnamon.
00:56:32
Speaker
do they have cinnamon on it? Yeah. Or it sugar? You could choose, right? So you could choose ah five churros you got with cinnamon or sugar and sugar or like Nutella, like liquid hot Nutella. Yeah, yeah.
00:56:50
Speaker
One of those, 110 kroners. 110. Fuck. fuck There was printing money, those guys. It was insane. Jesus. And there was a line out there, Wazoo, dude. Of reckon they were easily...
00:57:05
Speaker
i reckoned they were making easily 10,000 kroners an hour, maybe more. um I mean, just think, like, in like material costs, like, not like i don't know, freaking, what do we talking about? Like, three crowns per serving?
00:57:24
Speaker
And then, like, just labor cost is what the your biggest thing there, and the rest is just pure profit. Yeah, but they probably only have to pay them 180 kroners an hour.
00:57:35
Speaker
so so there were two people there. So they're paying their wages. They're paying their wages off it like five churros. Well, one fair pays off their wages the entire year.
00:57:48
Speaker
Dude, it's insane. They're giving me the mcshits. I couldn't believe it. I'm getting 10 grounds far. There we are as a family going, yeah, we'll have three churros like you. I'm like, oh, God, ah why are we doing this, Kristen?
00:58:06
Speaker
Yeah. So we're talking about like 12 US dollars or something like that, yeah? Yeah. Yeah, 12 US dollars for some frigging gyros with chocolate sauce. That's just so insane. And like I have to ask, were they good?
00:58:24
Speaker
They were average, I would say. ah I mean, you don't expect miracles from ah from a fairground. No, you not. Yeah. Oh, yeah.
00:58:35
Speaker
ah Yep. What's going on? Yeah, you's you tell. I'll tell you, Justin. I'll tell you what's giving me the shit. They're like.
00:58:47
Speaker
In instinct dog traffic. Who does number two one?
00:58:58
Speaker
for So for those who don't know, ah Thursday was um Happy Space Jesus Day. Yeah. as i've As I've decided to call it just for fun.
00:59:12
Speaker
Ascension Day in or Kristihimmelfraatstag in Norwegian. um And to signify the day that to Jesus ascended to heaven, as the story goes, it's um there I don't think there's a single Norwegian in the country that gives a shit about that at all. That's why I say, why I make fun of it.
00:59:36
Speaker
They just love a fucking free day. ah why wouldn't you? Yeah, I mean, let's be honest. We all love a free day. So ah public holidays are great, except for when they fall on a Thursday and everybody decides, you know what, I'm going to take Friday off. I'm going to make a four-day weekend out of this, right? Right.
00:59:54
Speaker
What happens when you're coming home from your work on Wednesday? Everyone's trying to go up to the cabin. Everyone's trying to, you know how long it took me to get from Oslo to stay home a in Drummond?
01:00:10
Speaker
What is normally on ah like an average traffic day, one hour and 15 minutes, roughly. Hmm. Right? Average like peak hour traffic, one hour and 15 minutes for me.
01:00:23
Speaker
you know long it took me on Wednesday to get home? Please tell us. Two hours and 35 minutes.
01:00:31
Speaker
Two hours and 35 minutes. Why? Because all these fucking idiots decide that they all need to go up to the cabin at peak hour. Seriously, go home, eat dinner, chillax for a second, jump in the car, and you're there.
01:00:45
Speaker
No one's stressed. No one's worried. It's easy. Gives me the motherfucking shits. But they know they might miss out on Jesus flying into the moon. No one was looking up.
01:00:58
Speaker
No one was looking up. I said that to a couple of friends today the other the other day. I said, did you look up yesterday? They're like, what? So anyway, yep, that was what's giving me the shits, Justin.
01:01:14
Speaker
Can you tell me what's blowing your mind? I'll tell you what's blowing my mind, Karen. Norwegian rednecks.
01:01:26
Speaker
Mind blown. Do tell. Do tell. yeah i I feel like like maybe I haven't understood Norway for the 12 years I've lived here.
01:01:38
Speaker
e I really didn't ever see proper rednecks before. Really? But they were out of the woodwork at this bloody mess of this... fell this fair They all turn up to the tibber. Oh, my God. It was a freak show, man. It's out of control. Was there some hockey spice, as they call it here, um some mullets?
01:02:02
Speaker
Yeah. but you know there's I'm sorry to say, but there was just all these simple people. You know,
01:02:11
Speaker
it was like, yeah, you just you just looked at them and you're like, you don't know how to add or subtract, do you? Like, unfortunately. and Yeah, but if you get it for half price, it's a bargain.
01:02:28
Speaker
i've never I've never seen that many. Like, I've never really noticed Norwegian rednecks before. Really? Yeah, because I don't. Like, you know, generally you you don't.
01:02:39
Speaker
you know You see maybe an odd person here and there, right? Yeah. But you don't equate them to rednecks. But when they're in a big group, you're like, oh, God. Yeah.
01:02:49
Speaker
they They're everywhere. ah And I was like, it blew my mind. I'd never seen so many rednecks in one place. Was there like a ah little flannel happening? what was what was the What was the describing factor that really tipped him off as rednecks? Yeah, like the Volvo shirts.
01:03:10
Speaker
Yeah, Volvo hats. Why is Volvo the choice of the Norwegian redneck?
01:03:20
Speaker
Really, Volvo. Yeah, but because of the 240. I understand that. It's just like the classic rear-wheel drive, know, reasonably horsepower, like reasonable horsepower, know, car from the or 70s or whatever it was. Which they still drive this day. Yeah, yeah. They love it. They love it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. With fluffy dice hanging from the mirror. 100%.
01:03:45
Speaker
hundred percent ye But you know they all kind of look the same. They all have these big fat guts and the and though the girlfriends or wives look like trolls.
01:03:57
Speaker
It was course but that's blowing my mind. I was like, wow, there's another one. who They're everywhere. but Don't get me wrong, we have light rednecks in Australia too, everywhere too. Oh, yeah. you know i just I think I've been sheltered here, maybe. I don't know. Maybe I just haven't been looking for them.
01:04:18
Speaker
and I just saw so many, it blew my mind. Wow. What's blowing your mind this week, Kieran? You know what i' but's what's blowing my mind this week, Justin? that Your video hasn't cracked 200,000 yet.
01:04:29
Speaker

01:04:33
Speaker
I wish was outrageous. Hit the button. Oh, sorry, sorry, sorry. Sorry, sorry. but You can say it again. But your video isn't cracked 200,000 yet. more like
01:04:49
Speaker
My blood. Yeah, i mean, so, i mean, it's just a matter of time, let's be honest here. And ah the way it's going, it won't be long.
01:05:01
Speaker
and But um I think it's, yeah, it just blows my mind that it hasn't got there yet. ah think it's so it's ah really disappointing i out there no no i'm not disciplineing at all it's ah I think it's I think it's mad.
01:05:18
Speaker
It's mind-blowing that it's done. you know it's done so It's not mind-blowing that it's done well because I think it's well-deserved. Thank you.
01:05:28
Speaker
But I'm... um My mind is blown that it's a that it's not everywhere on the internet right now. There we go.
01:05:40
Speaker
Well, you never know. Someone could share it on this podcast and it explodes. It's true. It's true. But, you know, I always believe in the in the way things are supposed to be and, you know, just it hasn't done what it needs to do yet.
01:05:56
Speaker
ah You can see it's still going well. so And you never know, right? All of sudden someone sees it and shares it somewhere and then, presto, something happens. But if it doesn't, I'm very happy with this like gradual growth, right?
01:06:11
Speaker
yes You see in the I'm going the right direction. I think I've gone up, is on um what is it Have you got any new subscribers to the channel? Oh, yeah. three About 3,500 new subscribers. Wow, that's great.
01:06:25
Speaker
Yeah. So, the video has been out for two weeks now, 3,500 subscribers. about 187,000. Is that what I said? 187,000 views. can't complain about It's great. Feedback has been generally really And... hundred and eighty seven thousand views you know i can't complain about it it's just it's great feedback has been generally really great and and You know, it's just a stepping stone to the next thing. and And hopefully, you know, this, like I say, every episode is like, i hope to make a living off this one day. And, you know, this is one step forward.
01:06:57
Speaker
Yeah, exactly. Right. Awesome. um There you go. I should actually say it another thing too I got this comment on the video.
01:07:09
Speaker
ah of ah he got he said He sent me a comment saying, I sent you an email. Can you please check this? I went on my email, found the email.
01:07:21
Speaker
It was like a a guy who's like, He said, can can do you have any measurements for this bike that you built? Because, ah you know, I have, to be honest, yeah I'm short in stature and most bikes don't fit me. I'm 140 centimeters i was like what so unfortunately i had to like tell him like no i don't that's not how i build things i kind of just wing it and just make things fit and make sure things are square and true and then just send it you know and you know the guy was super nice he wrote this long long email back you know
01:08:04
Speaker
But he basically wanted to build one for himself so that he could actually wrote it ride himself a motorcycle because he was too short. Poor guy. Can't you buy yourself a kid's motorcycle?
01:08:17
Speaker
You'd think so, but I don't know. Maybe he wants something with some real guts. Maybe he just wants something looks cool because let's be honest, most kids' motorcycles don't look cool. That is true. and third um Some might disagree with my motorbike looking cool, but who cares?
01:08:36
Speaker
ah if they If they disagree, they're liars.
01:08:43
Speaker
I don't know. I was thinking about doing a follow-up video for it as well. Maybe taking it to Harley Davidson and seeing what they think. that's like doing something like that but I'm not sure that video really would do anything no I don't think so the the main impact is is the video you've got yeah yeah I think so yeah so we'll see we'll see Karen recommendations
01:09:10
Speaker
are you not going ask me to sing don't like my singing anymore Justin that was horrible last time Oh, no, that was Kristen. She sung horribly. I'm sorry, Karen. Off you go. Off you sing. him Recommendation.
01:09:25
Speaker
Recommendation. What is your recommendation?
01:09:33
Speaker
What is your recommendation, Karen? ah The new Intheosa single, Wolves and Vipers. There you go. i v Side note, these are two good friends of mine making music together.
01:09:47
Speaker
So I am slightly biased, but I also think i had the song stuck in my head for a good three, four days straight. So I figure it's good. It's well-written.
01:10:01
Speaker
um And I really enjoyed it. so And I think big shout-out to the boys at Entheosis. um It's there John Reichardt and Peter Espoval. It's there their project.
01:10:15
Speaker
They're writing music from the other side of the world, like one in Norway and one in Australia. So John Reichardt is a a good friend of mine, also a good friend of Justin's.
01:10:27
Speaker
And Peter Espoval is ah actually my wife's second cousin and also a good friend of mine. making music and rocking it out. If you like the metal, if you're into the metal, then ah please check out Entheosis Wolves and Vipers. There are a lot of other songs that they've released in the last six-odd months, um and they're definitely awesome as well, so you check them out.
01:10:57
Speaker
That's my recommendation. Justin, what's your recommendation for this week? My recommendation is that you go out This week and by Nordic Triple.
01:11:08
Speaker
Oh, thanks for the plug, bro. i Honestly, i said it earlier in the podcast. It's fantastic. And it's great. And people that try it love it.
01:11:21
Speaker
And I think if you haven't tried it, get your hands a bottle. Make sure you've got enough time to drink it. It is a big bottle. Just remember, it's 0.75. zero point seven five so it's ah nearly a liter.
01:11:36
Speaker
It's a bottle of wine, basically. Yeah. At wine and strength. Yeah. and And share it with somebody too, right? Yeah. but That's the whole thing that I want. I want people to share it. I want people to you know get in get around and you know have a good time together.
01:11:51
Speaker
Yeah. So that's my recommendation. go Go find a Nordic Triple by Eucharist Brewing and your hands on it and enjoy the beautiful flavors that Kieran has created.
01:12:06
Speaker
That's it. That's it. On that bombshell. On that bombshell. You know what should do, Justin, right now? i don't know if you can... Should be able to do it. Can you put the entheosis music at the end of this?
01:12:20
Speaker
As a little, like... new outro copyright claim Karen but you know we know them it's alright it's not alright they'll sue it I know i dont know what pet is like ah ah I'll just like I'll just ah speed it up so it's indistinguishable that kind of defeats the purpose doesn't it anyway yep awesome think it's good to be back on the pod.
01:12:54
Speaker
It's nice to have you back, Kieran. Yeah. Hope people have enjoyed me having having enjoyed having me back on. So, yeah, hopefully I have some more news coming in the following weeks.
01:13:07
