Introduction with Banter

Speaker
It is... The Fantasy Europeans. My name is Jared Dyke. I wanted to say it's stupid and let's move on, but then you kept going. I'm Ben Glauser. I don't like any way anybody gambled that. Collusion! Collusion!
00:00:27
Speaker
Hey, everybody. Welcome back. It is the Fancy Rugby Yanks. My name is Jared Dyke. I'm Ben Glauser. Let's get into it. It's fancy corner time. Pocket like a ton. Oh, yeah. Or cold, you know, whatever. I'll spark it like it's room temperature.

Thanksgiving Traditions and Gratitude

00:00:47
Speaker
But before we get to
00:00:50
Speaker
fantasy corners, since we have plenty of time usually in this segment, we're going to do my thankfulness. So as we mentioned in the previous pod, it is Thanksgiving here in the United States. And though the holiday was based on something that was pretty shitty, it's grown into something that's something I can still get behind, which is just time with family, time with friends, and just
00:01:12
Speaker
sitting around and having a laugh because it's pretty much the only thing I do during this holiday is to that and eat a fun ton of food. But you know, that happens. I'm more on a fan of the food. And yeah, it's like the sharing of food and you know, family style, no matter what your family looks like. Exactly. You know, it's still your family.
00:01:39
Speaker
Yeah, so for me, I'm always thankful for the fact that I have the job I do and I don't fucking hate life every day I go to work. And I'm thankful that I have people that I care about in my life in what feels like plethora of it, really. And that's not something that a lot of people have. So I know I'm lucky in that regard. I'm thankful in a lot of ways to just
00:02:05
Speaker
be where I am and have the family I do because I know some people have very little family and I don't have a ton, but shit, I know people that have less than me. I'm thankful that I have friends like, as we call them, the brothers from another mother because literally they serve as better brothers than
00:02:27
Speaker
than my actual brother. And that includes the guy that I talk with on a weekly basis across the screen here. And all their families as well. So yeah, I'm thankful for you know, my nephews and my nieces and all the little ones that like to crawl on the giant ogre like he's a jungle gym and
00:02:45
Speaker
That's just how it goes but they do love doing that don't they? Yes they do. Yes they do. Like when they start to when they start to walk is it was especially when it starts because then they're like oh I could do this too all right. Great well especially if they're like oh wait once they realize you're strong enough to hold me up. Like yep absolutely. Like oh I can just climb on you this is fun. Yeah they're good at that.
00:03:09
Speaker
Oh, yeah. Yeah. And I'm thankful for everything like that. Yeah. You used to be a camp counselor. That's when they do it. That's about the age they do it, especially. Yeah. Yeah. And I'm thankful that I have, you know, um, you know, everybody that knows what I do, I, you know, I picked shit up and put it back down for a living and show people how to do it too. And
00:03:28
Speaker
I have a lot of great people that I get to show that too, so I'm very thankful for that. I'm thankful for the high school coaching job I have. I was talking about it with somebody you know, Eric. We've denied ourselves other things that we could be doing instead of that high school job because we know it's a very special job.
00:03:49
Speaker
with what we built. So I'm very thankful that we have kids that believe in it. And that we have parents that believe in it. And that we have, you know, I have two other coaches that are into it that are as into it as they are. And they they really think they really get what we're trying to do. So yeah, those are my those are my many thankful things. And I probably forgot something, but we'll go with that. So cheers. Cheers to everybody up there. What do you think buddy?
00:04:20
Speaker
I don't know if you're talking to me or Taz. Taz is not in the room. Oh, OK. No, no, I'm thankful for the job that I have. Yeah, it's fucking annoying me at the moment, but, you know, it does that comes and goes. That's just a job to do that sometimes. Yeah. So it's one of those like I'm really thankful for it at the moment. You've all been there.
00:04:48
Speaker
Thankful for certainly for for giving me the means to afford the house that I have because that's like, I didn't realize how important that would be to me and I'm super happy, especially the, you know, both Jared and I got in, like, right before the kind of market went to share with nuts. Yeah.
00:05:07
Speaker
which it does every so often. So yeah, like we're both doing really well with that. We have a lot to be thankful for there, especially being from our generation of where home ownership is difficult. I'm sorry, I'm going. But this is the reason why I'm thankful for it. Like it actually means a lot to me that we have this.
00:05:28
Speaker
I'm thankful for this pod because it definitely helps me get out some rugby feelings. I got one out earlier. We both did. It's important to us, right? So that's kind of why we do this because this is kind of cathartic for us. I've said before, like sometimes I'd feel like this is just a conversation that Jared and I have every week.
00:05:54
Speaker
But, you know, we sent it out to you guys, but it's not, I don't do this for the show. I do it because it's fun to have the conversation and talk with me. And maybe it would be better if I cared more about the show aspect of it, but that's not...
00:06:09
Speaker
I don't know why we're doing this. That's not why we do this. So but I'm thankful for this for this outlet. And I'm thankful for the certainly the coaching job that I had this year with with Boston University, which was truly gratifying for multiple ways. You can it was it was easy to see the immediate success of
00:06:31
Speaker
of coaches, your kids are so goddamn coachable. You're just asking like, you're like, okay, you do this. Well, you don't do this. Well, okay. Here's how we're going to use that to our advantage. And then they do it and it works really fucking well. And then, you know, I having players come up to me and because I'm teaching them about reading the defense and, and don't attack right into the wall. You attack the edge of the wall. And he's like, and he's a prop. He's like, coach, Ben, I saw it. I saw that edge that you're talking about.
00:06:56
Speaker
I'm like, yes, that's, that's it. Like once you start seeing it, you can't not see it. And that's what you need to, you know, when we need to attack that, that's where the weaknesses will go from there. But first you need to, you do need to see it. So that's just, that's fun to see that too.
00:07:12
Speaker
And then it's good to like, you know, spread the love of rugby too. I feel like I do this for the right reasons. And I feel like they're responding and then, you know, I try to make sure they understand that this isn't the end of rugby. So it's like, this is, you know, we only have you for so long here, but I'm trying to develop you into guys who want to play. Like, I want to develop players who you want to play with at the club level. Right.
00:07:36
Speaker
And so that's right. And also fucking handy, like, oh, man, I'm so and so is around because they actually know how to play the ball. And it's like that just that is is enough. Or they see the field well, stuff like that, you know, whatever they can do to help help their club. That's not just go be physical. Yeah, no, no, I get to actually, you know, preach what I what I talk about here and.
00:08:04
Speaker
Yeah, I'm thankful my dog is still alive, to be perfectly honest. She's fucking 15 in a fucking cost. She's still go. She's still super, like, yeah, she doesn't have the, she's lost a step, certainly. But she's in retirement for dog athleticism, but she's still doing great. She's still super happy and still the friendliest dog you could ever meet, so. Yeah, that's important.
00:08:30
Speaker
Yeah. So it's good to have like, you know, good, good friends, you know, good place to be, good, good family. Um, yeah.

Admiration for Ruby Tui

00:08:40
Speaker
And, um, you know what else I'm thankful for Ruby Tui. Yeah, we all should be. For so many reasons too, but like, yeah, I, I, I just wanted to give her a shout in this time of thankfulness. Cause like for, for rugby in rugby terms for on the world rugby stage. Um,
00:09:00
Speaker
Like we need more Ruby to eat. Yes, like, she is so great for the game and every possible way whether it's on the field off the field, being an ambassador being an interview, like, like, just great people.
00:09:18
Speaker
I'm glad we get to experience her. Like she said, you know, like kind of like what she said, like, thank you for sharing this experience. Like, dude, you're the one to get to watch you. Like, yeah. Yeah. We're just watching. You're doing great things. But you did it all. Yeah. She's seeing her do her thing is certainly worthwhile. And then backing it up off the pitch, just being the ambassador that she is. We need more love like that.
00:09:42
Speaker
None of these, we need certainly more heard than like the Austin Healy's who will moan, complain, I don't want to fuck up Austin. Like enjoy the game. Right. We're here to enjoy it. Not to fucking mourn it. So we need more, more like more like Ruby.
00:09:59
Speaker
Yeah, no, no doubt.

Listener Appreciation

00:10:01
Speaker
And of course, we're thankful for you all that download and listen to this and give us a purpose to enter on a Patreon. Thank you. Yeah, especially our patrons. But yeah, I mean, we didn't have listeners, then this is not this is nothing. So we appreciate you all and
00:10:18
Speaker
Yeah, thanks for listening to our conversation. Yeah. Listen to us battle on a week. Which, you know, I am willing to make this a better show if there's feedback, but I haven't heard any other than. Just keep at it. Positive. So, OK, we can do that. We're good at that. We got that. It seems to be what our demand is. So we'll keep pumping it out if you'll keep listening. That's all we get. That's all we can do. Let's do. Let's go. Let's go to some fancy stuff now.
00:10:48
Speaker
Let's do let's have a look at autumn's nation series. And we got, so let's see how, how's everybody doing? I am.
00:11:01
Speaker
I'm two behind you and I'm way behind George. Geez, I'm in our league. Justin, Jobis, and George, like screw you all. Laura B, who are you and why do we not know who you are? Like, come on. Why are you kicking our asses so much? Yeah, also that, but like show yourself, please. I would love to meet you. Reveal yourself. Yeah, stupid sexy sexton, you're funny, I like you too. Yeah.

Fantasy Rugby Insights

00:11:28
Speaker
We like you do. Uh, but yeah, I miss. Yeah. I'm not doing terrible, but I'm also like, I'm intent out of what 16. Yeah. So I'm not doing great. Yeah. Well, where are we in the geeks league? Oh, way down. Cause I'm in 16th there. I checked that. Now I'm way down. Oh, you're 18th. No, you're, you're, you're also too below me in that too. What kind of shit houses do we have? Jesus. I don't know if you jumped up one. I dropped one. I had a great week. Oh.
00:11:57
Speaker
Not for you Alex, wherever you are, but yeah, it'd be our Alex Better not be I don't see him anywhere else on this list. So I would wager the farm. That's him Wager the farm that's him It can't be him he's not in our league no
00:12:21
Speaker
Well, I'm hurt. Well, if it is him, it is him. Dude. Very hurt. Dude. What the hell, man? What the fuck? So let's look at where we stand going into this week. Going into this weekend, because we're going to get five per nation.
00:12:44
Speaker
to play. So that'll allow you to fill out a full, at least a full squad with 15 plus plus. What team, what team would you choose from though? This is tough, just based on that. So currently, Arden says, definitely the best wing out there right now that would be playing this weekend, and he is in the team. So there's that.
00:13:07
Speaker
Uh, I'm sure we'll find out more teen news as we go along. So yeah, Kurt Liard and so has 65. Is that on average? Yeah. On average, he has 65 and that includes last week, obviously where he scored a shit ton, but still, um, still might be worth it.
00:13:23
Speaker
Farrell is actually one of the higher centers right now, so I might consider him. If he's playing, yeah. Because he's also going to be the kicker. Yes. That being a big thing. This is a big Eddie kicking for points week. Absolutely. Farrell is probably going to be your best scorer for England as far as scoreboard. Right. That's valuable, especially from the centers. That's rare. Yeah.
00:13:53
Speaker
And then DDA is the, another one, DDA Porter for Ketya. They're probably the next ones, but whether or not the, some of those are in is a different story. And then 10 shirts films are really, yeah. Don't say market, Anscombe Marcus in that order and whether or not we see Anscombe this weekend or now. So that's, that's entirely up to Wayne Peaback. Have fun. Thomas Williams is probably the best nine right now to pick from.
00:14:24
Speaker
with Vamportfully right after assuming he starts. I bet he doesn't. I bet Young starts this match. I know. I'm terrified he's going to start. This is all signs point to Young's here. Yeah.
00:14:38
Speaker
Jack Morgan is the highest loose forward that we could pick from, but that's also based on his game last week, which, which he got two in. So yeah, same as currently are. And so just consider that Khaleesi and then Curry and tips are the next ones after that. And Curry really was, I don't know if let me see.
00:15:04
Speaker
Yeah, he actually went down this last week. That's, that's crazy. Um, although they, okay, but there's also the team points and whatnot in there, but still like, I thought he would have had much more in the way of, uh, like.
00:15:17
Speaker
Yeah, I would have thought he'd scored more because I thought he did really well in defense I thought he had a bunch of tackles and coaches and whatnot, but yeah beats me. It was two week week two was his top. That's weird No, that was that was an open game. I don't I gotta say I don't fucking understand scoring in this Sometimes it's a little wonky
00:15:37
Speaker
Uh, most are a Toge and that's about your lots that are up there. Most are actually starting at seven this week. So that could be something to just consider. And there, uh, for prop it's Stewart and Francis, but they won't, that's only based on one game each. And that's cause Stewart scored twice last week. Right. Probably was lucky to get both those scores. After that's Allah, Allah Toa.
00:16:01
Speaker
Genj and, um, kits off. Although I would also consider, right. I would, I would consider, um, Stewart for, for your super sub just based on the fact that he scores tries when he plays and he's going to come off the bench. He's likely to come off the bench. Yes. That might be a consideration. And he'll be playing when, and if England opens it up at 70 minutes. Yeah, possibly, possibly, uh, hook.
00:16:29
Speaker
right now, it's Marks and then Calendicki and neither one of those is a super high mark and then Imbanambi. Which ones? What's up?
00:16:42
Speaker
Or, oh yeah, Ken Owens. Yeah, he's doing well. So maybe that's the one to go with in that case. In that case, yeah, who's starting for South Africa? Embedambia Marks. It's another release of the team. I just missed it. Oh, I don't, yeah. Yeah, it's one of the two. So, again, I've gone with that South Africa strategy as well. I would also consider the backup, yeah, the backup hooker for your super sub, because
00:17:09
Speaker
They're going to play like 40 minutes. So it's like. You actually get probably, you know, similar attempts to scoring, but it's from your backup hooker. So, again, there's your super sub. Like, didn't you didn't that. Did you do that this past week? Yeah, Mark scored. And you fucking rocked it. Yeah. Worked out all right. So that. Rather than Stuart, I go, I go over the backup hooker is first.
00:17:37
Speaker
Okay. Let's go to champion league from the other week, a recap on what happened in week

Champion League Review

00:17:47
Speaker
10. So fucking well, you slapped Mark 10 to 64. Yeah. I equally slapped, uh, Duncan 153 to 67. Yeah. And.
00:18:02
Speaker
George beat Carrick and that was not how we assumed it would go. Cause George has been putting out some stinkers, some poopers. So good for him. Yeah. Hooray George. Look at you. Look at you go. You got the fifth highest score in the league. This week, this week it'll be Justin beat him. Yeah. Right. This week it'll be myself and Cobus. What are you looking at? Sorry. I got it backwards. Don't worry about me. Carry on.
00:18:30
Speaker
Whatever you're doing over there, it's working. It's going to be myself against, um, Cobus, you have George this week, Mark and Carrick, and then Justin and Duncan. So let's have a look at league tables and then we'll go to division two. Bada, Bada.
00:18:54
Speaker
Hey, all right. I'm in first in conference one. Right. It was only like, what, four weeks ago that you were in last night. I was asking about like, yeah, it was a little bit longer than that. Maybe six weeks ago where I was like, you have the highest score in the league and you're like, got one or two wins and you're like, shut up. I had one. Yeah, it wasn't. Yeah.
00:19:16
Speaker
was bad. But hey, I now I have the highest score in league and inverse. So look at look at this league, though. Well, you're in first in the conference, but in the car, which is enough for me to get into the playoff, which is all I want to do. Exactly. It's all I want to do. So put it there. There are two teams in this league that are above 500. There's a seven. Mark is seven and three. Cobas is six and four.
00:19:41
Speaker
And then there's five teams at five and five, and then there's George. George at two and eight. So plenty of time, George. It's okay. Plenty of time, buddy. Plenty of time. As we see, because this is such a long season that it's so easy to turn it around that like just having a couple of bad weeks isn't, you know, especially during these, this international period is like, just survive this period. Yeah. Do your best, especially with the limited lineups.
00:20:05
Speaker
keep the people that you won't, you know, like, and I'm still fucking chugging along, like, I'm determined to start semi Raja at some point this season. Yeah, right. And tomorrow will be back. And, you know, I'm not dropping these teams, these players just because like, some carry, it looks like one of these got to carry some people for a little bit. And then
00:20:27
Speaker
Yeah, I'm, I'm probably gonna bite a loss this week because I've got to. I've got too many guys that are going to be a wet day that I'm by or away. And I'm really not about it. Right. I've focused on the backs. I don't have a single.
00:20:43
Speaker
I don't have a single forward on the subs. And I only have Ted Hill, but he's on buy. Like all my forwards are on buy. I'm just going, I think I'm going to full back strategy. Cause it's like, if I can fill the back line and get, you know, 10 points out of that, that's better than sacrificing and whatnot. So I think I have enough players to get through. Hang in there. Yeah. I don't. Elsewhere champion league division two.
00:21:12
Speaker
We have Alex and, um, Luke, Alex, Pete, Luke, Terry and Larry, Terry wins again. Very Terry, um, Stewart went, Stewart wins. He beats. Yeah. Uh, I don't know what's going on with John. Um, not awesome. And then, um, Franco, uh, yeah, Franco beats Sophia. So what Sophia, um, the standings are.
00:21:44
Speaker
We have Stuart up ahead. Oh, yeah. Just running away with that division now in conference one, um, Franco and Sophia are six and four. And then John is just pulling up the rear with a three and seven. And on the other side of the column, as we said before, Alex has turned it around. She's five and five Terry's five and five. There's four and six. So it's getting, that's getting a little bit better in that, in that, in that one in Lucas three and seven. So right now you're.
00:22:12
Speaker
your playoff bracket would be Alex and then the three from conference one. Um, so I'm still Frank, you want Sophia? So good luck everybody. But now we do the starts and the sits.

Match Previews

00:22:32
Speaker
Um, thank you. You have, you have the first Friday match. I do. Yeah. Quinn's versus Gloucester, at least on the schedule sheet that I saw. Um, that's a,
00:22:43
Speaker
So for the Quinn's, it's still going to be tough. Cause I don't know, like, um, Esther Hazen's back. Who knows if they're going to give him a rest because they have on Yanwu or they could go both of them. Like this kind of, there's a lot, um, I think is, is literally resamit back. Cause the, this is technically the end, the windows closed. So everybody's been, anybody that's not in their home country playing has been returned to their clubs.
00:23:09
Speaker
Oh, so Harrison or no. So there Harris will be back for Gloucester. But Louis, Louis resam it will not because we'll be playing for Williams. No, no. So Louis resam, it does not play in Wales. Oh, gotcha. OK, I gotcha. Yeah. That being the OK. So then there you go. The question. But the question is, do they get a rest? So for the Holocaust, I'd say Dom Brant probably plays unless he's should be fine. Yeah, you play the other week. Yeah.
00:23:38
Speaker
Care, yes, full go in this one. I'm guessing Tommy Allen is going to be your 10 because he's been class lately. And then the rest of the back line, it doesn't really matter who they have. First off, as Jared pointed out when we were prepping for this, Gloucester have one of the worst defense fantasy defenses in the comp. So this is prime picking for Harlequin's to run on the team. And so I'm guessing they will.
00:24:07
Speaker
Yeah, the whole back line. It doesn't matter who they have there, you know, from Esther Hazen to Anyanwu to, you know, Northmore to fucking, you know, Murley, if Eddie returns him again, which you probably will, which probably will. So, yeah, play them because they will score. On the Gloucester side, their front row is always a full go because either their hookers could score at any time. And then there's always Valor Pava Ruskin,
00:24:35
Speaker
Somehow, this finding the try line with ease this year. Mateusz and Alemano being back should help. Perhaps the back row, you have options there, but it depends on the lineup. In some cases, some players like Ackerman are more valuable than in other cases, depending on who else is with him. If he's the attacking guy, yeah, he's your guy. If he's one of the
00:24:58
Speaker
you know, he's like second or third tier and an attack from those guys, then he's probably just going to be defensive and you're going to want to sit him. Right. So to see that. And then Chapman and Hastings at nine and 10 at those, if there's a, you're not as intense, you start them, anyone else sit them. And then like, as I was talking about with Harrison, three salmon, yes, they, they should play to do all right. Yeah. Definitely more recent. Yeah. Harris is, is,
00:25:24
Speaker
Can we service attacking? Yeah. Yes. He'll have, he'll have room this week to run. Yeah. And he'll, and they'll be attacking him. He'll have tackles and turnovers and shit. So it's, it's not a terrible week for him. Right. All right. I have Falcons and Exeter up in the tune. So similar to how I've been doing it. I'm just going to kind of note. Yeah, right.
00:25:51
Speaker
I don't know that I want to watch this match. No, I know. Right. So for Newcastle, we'll start there.
00:26:01
Speaker
Let's see. So Carreras, Radwin, yes. Barton's my favorite halfback right now. Fantasy-wise for Newcastle, which tells you a lot. Sean Robinson might be worth a roll of the dice. Exeter, Elastigants, Locks. So there's that. That's true. Despite Exeter's ranking in Loose Forwards, I still am very hesitant on the back row for Newcastle. Nobody's really stood up. So I'll pass on that.
00:26:30
Speaker
Um, and then, and then, and then, uh, and caught in his break glass in case of emergency for me. Yes. Everybody after everybody else after that pass for Newcastle or for the exit, the eggs are achieved. Sorry. One moment, please. If you would, drum roll. There will be names, but not many. No, there will not. All right. So we have.
00:26:58
Speaker
Shinsa yes, Hodge. Yes, Joseph. Yes Gray as a second as a lock if you're if you're inclined to do so, yes, and then if cap sticks healthy, that's probably That's probably the end of the line for me on that one. Let me see what else do to do
00:27:22
Speaker
Because Newcastle are surprisingly not awful as a fantasy defence, like they're middle of the pack for a lot of things. Yeah, centre's the only thing that I'm like really confident in and a little bit OB, that's why I say Hodge and probably Woodburn too. Yeah, their centres are all trash, so we don't play them. So there's that. So done. Done. All right. Nice and easy.
00:27:48
Speaker
Off to another match I'm not sure I want to watch, but we'll see. Sail hosting Bristol. The team that is still riding the struggle bus to really open it up versus the team that just can't defend but makes up for it by not being able to attack either.
00:28:13
Speaker
So sale, I think have a really good matchup here, especially since they're at home and it sucks going to the AJ Bell. So the front row, the Japrias is, um, and then the, almost the entire back line there, there may be some people they'll put in there, like Sam Hill that you just don't want to touch no matter what. Um, but they're, you know,
00:28:35
Speaker
Other than the known bad quantities, feel free to take a flyer in this, in this match. Cause Bristol, some matches just cannot defend words of shit and they'll, they'll, they'll go for a run. So this is, this is the match. If you're looking for a flyer, um, for your weekend and you hit that waiver wire.
00:28:52
Speaker
You know, there might be a bigger name for this week. Look, I would say look for the non Sam Hill in the center or or or one of the wings from sale if they're available on the Bristol side. I'm not really liking any of the forwards here, obviously, because, you know, Sinclair and Genge won't be there. So the front row is kind of not nearly as useful, although Thacker could still rock. So you can take the system, but I wouldn't be like, yeah, I have them this week.
00:29:22
Speaker
Magnus is really the only forward that I'd really be excited about. And I'm not sure against this defense that he, like, they'll front up against him and he, you know, he lives off of using his bulk and speed together, but the speed guys from sale.
00:29:37
Speaker
won't be as intimidating physically by him. So I don't think that'll work that well for him. The back line could score, though. Depending on who, you know, if Sheedy's butt is up, Urine also and Porter, obviously, there's a whole bunch of options there that they make. You know, any one of these weeks, they could click. So don't sleep on the Bristol back line just yet. Not yet. Not yet.
00:30:07
Speaker
Okay. I have. Lesser in London Irish. Hmm. Great. Another fun one. Um, uh, I don't like, this will be better. Watch one of these match. I think this one, this one will be better. Let's put it that way. Pretty good. Yeah. All right. So we have four. Thankful for this weekend's slate again. Yeah. Yeah. I'm just, I mean, I don't have to pay attention to shit. I'll just, yeah.
00:30:36
Speaker
do what I feel like. For the sake of the Tigers. So, Modolo is a definitive yes. If Guy Porter gets sent back, I go ahead and slot him right in. And then George Martin as well. George Martin is a definitive yes, and so is Jasper.
00:30:54
Speaker
Other than that, looking at the front row, actually, that's another one. Irish are very, very bad against front rows. So go ahead and especially with Montoya back. Oh, that's a winner right there. That is a good winner. Fly half. Okay. Burns or Atkinson might be a worthy plug in this week. They're bad against scrum halves.
00:31:16
Speaker
But there's no screaming to really speak of it lesser right now because it's Wiggles and I'm not right. I'm not taking a flyer on Wiggles. I love you, Richard. But nope, not for this purpose. He's not going to go for a run. It's not his. No, he isn't. Yeah, not his game, man. Not his game. And then for the exiles. I mean, we know some of the names, but let's just kind of cover our bases, shall we? So for them, them exiles over there.
00:31:46
Speaker
So we, we obviously like Arendelle if he gets healthy, that's not going to happen. Uh, Hassell Collins and Van Rensburg in a pinch right now, just, I know it's midfield's hard. So that's why I'm saying that, um, Cunningham South Pearson. Yes. Like those, those are okay. Uh,
00:32:06
Speaker
maybe bash him as well. And then just kind of checking matchup wise. What's that? I think, I think loader is prime for a load or two. Sorry. Okay. I just was like, I know sometimes you're sometimes you're out on him. So I wasn't sure how you're feeling. He was, he was poo the other week, but he should be, he shouldn't have a bounce back week. Yeah. You should definitely, um, Tigers are.
00:32:26
Speaker
A little stingy is a fancy defense. So that obviously means the likes of shitbag get thrown to the scrap heap. Don't bother playing a lock from this game. The Irish front row has been pilled. Don't even. If you have an Irish lock on your on your team. Right. What are you doing? You have a hole. Don't know. Stop it. Get rid of them. Yeah. And then play without a lock or find one on the bent of the waiver wire because they're better.
00:32:55
Speaker
Yeah. Center is tough against Lester. It's one of the, it's one of the better assets loose forward as well. So yeah, really turning himself as a flyer. Pearson is a definitive thumbs up. And that's about probably about it for that sake. Uh, scrum has kind of middle of the road against Lester. So if you're so inclined to grab Benjamin white, you can go ahead and do so or killing angels. Not, not Powell though. God, he's so bad. Just don't go bad for fancy waiting purposes.
00:33:22
Speaker
Just make sure you drop correctly if you're adding. The best part is you weren't even stoned. You weren't even stoned. That's the best part. Okay. Yeah. That was a fucking bank. OT dubs. OT dubs. Not even the stone.

Fantasy Rugby Player Debate

00:33:46
Speaker
So I kind of mentioned my, um, you know, that I think there's prime opportunities for Harlequin's back line. The one thing that's still going to be there, that's going to be problematic is, um, the matchup against Billy 12 trees. Cause I'm guessing he's still going to be your 12 at the moment.
00:34:08
Speaker
And so most people get a lot of his back. Unless unless. Yeah. But he didn't play this. I like I can only assume he's hurt. But yeah, and who knows if. You know, if he is like if he's fit, so I'm assuming he's not. That's that's where I'm coming at from this. It may change if if yeah, if if he puts in a 12, but at the same time, Andre or Lennox,
00:34:36
Speaker
Should, should handle him pretty well. I, I, I'd like, I still like them enough. Like, so it's the Harlekins 12. Okay. There you go. Whoever that may be. Whoever that may be. So I have somebody from the same matchup and the same team.
00:34:52
Speaker
And my guy has got a very favorable matchup. He is in form. He's got one of the worst defenses, fancy defenses around. He's got one of the worst fancy defenses against his position around. And like I said, he's in form and he's slowly making everybody a fan of him over at the stoop. So my start of the week for this round of the premiership in FRD is Tommy Allen. Yeah. That's why I picked him up in our league, but like when it was the, uh,
00:35:22
Speaker
Oh, yeah. The last week. Last week. I was super excited about getting him because I have Finn Smith, but he's on by this week. There's a problem with that. Right. So I was like, that's a problem that I have now solved because Tommy Allen will be right there for the twins because Marcus is still away. Yeah. So very happy about that. Yeah. It's the other week. It's.
00:35:46
Speaker
I didn't hear you mention mine. He has not lived up to much height this year. He's certainly been no wizard on the pitch. And I'm assuming they're going to keep him at 13. And it's just not been his position. It's not helpful for fantasy. But my set of the week this week is even if it's a good matchup, sit Harry Potter. He's not a guy you'd want to employ.
00:36:15
Speaker
Some very poor fantasy wise. Yeah. But also, yeah, he hasn't been playing that well either. It's just not, it's not that he's been playing well and it's not translating into points. It's that he's not playing well. And that's showing up on the fantasy scoreboard too. Yes. Agreed. So mine is from that matchup as well. Same area, same area of the field too. So despite the fact that he's been, he's had a decent start to a season.
00:36:41
Speaker
And despite that, the other side has not necessarily performed well on the fantasy scoreboard. The one thing they've done has been assholes to the opposition in the midfield. So, um, with that, I said, I didn't necessarily give this away fully in my, uh, my preview of this matchup, but my say of the week for this round is one on Irish is South African center, but I got to be in Pittsburgh.
00:37:10
Speaker
Because despite that, that is a huge pain in the ass area. Yeah, I don't know. I mean, no, I think that's a good choice because I think that should impact some teams. And I think that's a good, like, yes, I would definitely expect fewer points from him. Especially if there's no Will Joseph. That's the other thing. Will Joseph takes pressure off of him?
00:37:33
Speaker
So if I see Will Joseph in that lineup, I might change it. But if it's Morrissey who I like, but also is not Will Joseph, I may change that. So and if it's freaking like if it's like Stokes or Sinti, forget it. Like they're going to he's going to get all the attention. I just that's true. It depends on how much attention he can get given because right. Right. If Hassel Collins and Loader can see, I think of that as more of a Hassel Collins and Loader can take pressure off him by being that because those are the
00:38:04
Speaker
you know, they're farther away from him than the 13. So I'm thinking if those guys go for some runs, that's kind of where he lives, is he kind of replaces them in the next phase. So like, if they go one way, then coming back the other, he's on the wing. And like, I've seen him do what he's put up a couple against Harrison's that way, where he's just playing in the loose. So I think that kind of, like, that's when I crossed from, into unsittable territory, because he could just go off on some games.
00:38:32
Speaker
He could, but I think he'd entirely match up dependent and line up dependent at this point. And that's fair. Doesn't have the fucker next to him. That's true, because I'm still seeing him through last year's eyes, where I'm like, oh, he's so busy. But I haven't been tracking how much that's really translating into points.
00:38:53
Speaker
His his points aren't bad from what I remember. Right. They're not terrible, but they're also not looked at. Yeah, it's not. They're not as consistent as they were. Like he's I think he's playing all right. They just don't produce the same. It's one of the TRM. He'd probably be still rocking it and he wouldn't be sit of the week in him. But no, it's not TRM. It's already with different scoring. Yeah, he has nothing under five. So I'll give him that. So I'll give him that. So let's still. Yeah.
00:39:23
Speaker
Let's go to the tape. Oh, that's a lie. He does have one under five. Sorry. Yeah. He doesn't, he hasn't had anything under, okay. That's not even, that's not even, so he's got four under 10, which is kind of the territory where it's like sit of the week territory. Yeah. Yeah, that's true.
00:39:45
Speaker
He does. He does have to 19. So I'll give him that. Right. But at the same time, yeah, those are those are also the same weeks. He scored, which is always helpful as well. Right. So and I'm not sure he scores. That's that being the big thing. Plus the Irish have been poop this year. Yeah. To be blunt. So.
00:40:04
Speaker
Hopefully they get rid of the shithead that they have. That would be helpful, I think. It really would. Because he's not been what they need. No. Move on. Move on. All right. Speed and move on. Let's go to pick them back to a draw so far.

Rugby Match Predictions

00:40:26
Speaker
I got one on the other week. What are we sitting at? 34 and 15 apiece.
00:40:33
Speaker
That's not bad. I'll take that. Yeah. Quinn's and Gloucester. Quinn's. Quinn's, yeah. Now Strombrandt's playing, right? Yes. Okay. Quinn's. And Tommy Allen and Northmore. Chair. Yeah. Marchant. Yeah. And they're back home. Friday night at the stoop. Should be interesting. And Gloucester have just been, they've just been poop lately. It depends. It really depends on if Hastings is back there, but even like that,
00:41:03
Speaker
That determines whether or not Gloucester or even in the game. Exeter and Newcastle. You know what sealed this for me? What's that? The hosts. It's not easy to, like, we know it's not easy to go into Exeter, into Sandy Park.
00:41:26
Speaker
It's not easy to travel to Newcastle. No, this is the longest trip of the year too, usually. So yeah, this is not an easy journey and it's not a friend. It's an unfriendly confine for opposition. It's one of those places you go up there and you shit yourself and exit or aren't exactly. You know, hitting on all cylinders. No, I know. So I see this as Newcastle just winning by default. Yeah.
00:41:58
Speaker
I'm going to put my trust in Sir Joseph. That's a possibility. Looking at the two of them, looking at the two of them wearing that 10 shirt, Conan versus him is probably what's doing it for me. And that's not saying that it can't go to a claim float because it damn well probably will. In which case it usually is going to favor the host, but I'm just going to go with him and hope to God they're not complete crap.
00:42:28
Speaker
Right. Like if they are, they're less crap than fucking Newcastle. Yeah. Well, I just I think. Even three years ago, I sort of go into this and you're like, yeah, this is a place where they can poop themselves. Like if they were, you know, the team of three years ago, you'd go in and be like, yeah, they have like they could just out dick them. And I don't know that I don't know that they have it in them this year. Right. They've been bad. Again, they've been bad at what they do. So that's where I'm going with it. Like they've been bad at what they do even when they're at home.
00:42:55
Speaker
going on the road up to Newcastle in the shit. I don't know that they're built for that anymore, which I fucking love. I mean, if they're not, then that's going to speak volumes. Like if they lose this one, that's going to speak enormous volumes about what we're witnessing with Exeter.
00:43:12
Speaker
They will find out. Right. I mean, Saracens are cheating again. That's what we know. OK, sale in Bristol. Taking the host, taking the host. Yeah, that's not again. It's not an easy place to go into. And I don't know what the hell is in the.
00:43:31
Speaker
the Bears head right now. Neither do I. If they win, I'll jump for joy for them. But right. That's the thing. It's fixable. It's one of those things where like, we've all been on teams where it's like that, it's just not clicking. And what is it? And then like something like comes along and smacks you in the head and everybody's like, on board like, Oh, no, this is where we need to be. Okay. Like, and it works. So it can happen like that. I
00:43:57
Speaker
I don't know. Maybe it happened with Bristol playing what they play the Babas. They've played some teams and looked like they had some fun running around the ball around. So maybe that's what they needed is just to throw it around a little bit without pressure. And maybe they can click. But they're not betting on that. They played South Africa A. That's what they played.
00:44:18
Speaker
of the week. And then the Tigers and London Irish. I'm going to take Luster, God, London Irish, taking trash. Sorry. Taking the hosts. Yeah. That's what it is. It's like, the Harlequin's Gloucester is the only one where I definitively take Harlequin's. Nothing else really matters. Out of context. I know. I'll probably still be in a bar by the time this game kicks off, so I won't be watching it.
00:44:42
Speaker
Yeah, the rest are just like that's where I think I think of the host team because the road team is probably just going to poop themselves. Yeah, Irish have been shit this year. Let's be bottom of the table if I'm not mistaken. They are. Yes, they have a game in hand on Bath, but even still, if they were to somehow bonus point, they'd have to they'd still have to get a better result than Newcastle and Bristol.
00:45:08
Speaker
And it's not like they've been losing to like, let me go on, let me go through there. And they know they beat, they beat bath. Like, like that's, that's who it was too. It's like, who are they beaten though? That you'd be like, oh, okay, cool. When they get back, they get those games in hand.
00:45:28
Speaker
Um, they got crushed by sale at sale. Like they lost at home to Gloucester. Like that's a, like, if you're going to be good, you're going to be Gloucester at home. If you're going to be, you know, really digging your way out. That's a, but yeah, I remember that, that being a game you win, um, kept it close to Quinn. Yeah. I just don't, I don't trust the exiles. They're not. Same.
00:45:52
Speaker
Yeah, I mean, yeah, they couldn't even take take advantage of, of Exeter shitting themselves at Sandy Park, like they should themselves do like. Yeah, Lester, I think our light years ahead of Exeter right now and.
00:46:09
Speaker
and Irish couldn't really touch Exeter on the road, so. Yeah, why are they gonna do it here? Well, if a road is not an easy place to play either. No, it's not. It doesn't matter how good Lester are, that's not an easy place to play. Good teams go there and lose. Right. So it's, yeah, it's not unthinkable by any means. Right, like that's the thing, like good teams go to Newcastle and win by the skin of their teeth, and Exeter aren't good.
00:46:36
Speaker
good teams go to sale and just tuck tail and run sometimes. And Crystal are not, I have not been backing up the challenge with all of the teams. And then, yeah. So I got to go with the hosts all the way down the line here. Yeah. So somebody's taking a one game lead here. Cool. Love it. Drama. Cool. All right. So.
