Speaker: Flex!

Speaker: Hello everyone and welcome to this week's episode of the Fellowship of the Tabletop, Belem Draconis. We are a live play 5e.5, fuck it.

Speaker: D&D 5.5e. D&D 5N5 on 5. D&D Nintendo 64 podcast set in the magical homebrewed, well was in the world of Aerith and now we are on the vile planes of hell.

Speaker: Joining you for this week's episode, we have Ian, who plays the dragonborn barbarian paladin Drago. What up? We've got Puby, who plays the rules-consulting human cleric Emron.

Speaker: I can do stealth. My name is Mark and I am playing the Human Blade singer Seth Farah Riva. And by last but not least is the slow whisper in the ear, the caress of the neck, the overly long eye contact, the tongue lick to the rectum, Dungeon Master Danny. but dungjama danny Bonjour. I called you Danny Master Dungeon. Danny Master. I'll take it. I'll take it.

Speaker: da da da da da da da da da da da da We find ourselves within the fell bogs of the vile plain as the party attempting to cross a basin...

Speaker: Epically failed in that pursuit as Emron, the natural one wonder strikes for the second time in that episode, I think and previously, and has alerted whatever whatever was dwelling nearby to your presence.

Speaker: Emron, after you fall, make that sound. The next thing you see is this gigantic ah hybrid of humanoid and vulture with a gnarled, bestial body and broad wings, stinking of offal, heading directly for you, talons wide.

Speaker: And as you see this creature coming in, you mark it instantly as a vrock.

Speaker: A vrock that you have faced. Not this exact one. The last time you faced a vrock

Speaker: was when you watched it throw Nyx and Morota off a cliff over a year ago. As this creature comes in, Talon first, I want you very quickly to make a dexterity throw to see if you can avoid this before we move into initiative.

Speaker: I don't do dex rolls. I don't do dex rolls. That's a three. oh

Speaker: i'd think Emron wouldn't even try to dodge it. He's like, no, fuck I'm just going to twat it one. You will begin initiative grappled, Emron. That just means it's in close combat with me, bitch.

Speaker: All right. Everyone roll initiative, please. Oh, shit. Hooray. Here go. Gosh. That's more like it. Fucking go.

Speaker: I think I'm at the bottom from those expressions. All right. right along right So I have Emron on a nine for initiative. Is that right?

Speaker: No, 19. That hasn't come through properly. 19, I have 7 on a 12. No, 112. 12. And Gerardo, yours hasn't come up for some reason. What's yours? 23. He's not in our campaign, so he won it won't come up to you. Yeah, i wasn't going spill the mechanical backlog of how this campaign runs online for the listeners, but ah we're going to do that.

Speaker: Sorry.

Speaker: We start initiative with Drago, top of the initiative order. So you have just seen this giant winged creature, sorry, this large winged creature descend upon Emron that looks like the the adult version of these tiny vultures that were feasting on these corpses to the north. It is five feet away from you and it has Emron strengthfully grappled within its talon.

Speaker: What would you like to do? Good. I do what I like to do best, my friend. I'd like to fucking rage. Nice, nice, nice, nice, nice. You are raged. Drago's happy. Even though he wanted to do this stealthy, there's a part of him that really wanted to fucking let loose here. so he's going to unsheath Dengon's deception from his back, pound forwards, his claws kind of pulling up the dirt as he makes a quick five foot...

Speaker: leap towards the creature that's got emron grappled and he's going in for a 19 to hit straight off the bat that will hit go ahead and roll damage feels so good to be so powerful that's 11 points of slashing damage right there and which weapon are you using dengon's deception okay thank you 11 points thank you very much And then as, because he's used all his momentum from the the kind of leap and then the spin attack, he's got quite a bit left over. So he's going in for a follow-up attack for 23 to hit. That hits. fuck oh He's back, man. You just don't fuck with this dragonborn for 13 points of slashing damage.

Speaker: ah Flex! Thank you. Drago's muscles are rippling as he feels energy from the battle his adrenaline is rushing high. fucking Let's fucking go As your turn ends and you just pull Dengon's deception back to your kind of stance, how your stance dictates you, you manoeuvre next.

Speaker: This kind of drooping black blood from the winged creature just drops in front of your eyelid for a split second. Thank you very much. we are on to Emron.

Speaker: So Emron with this thing grappled on him and as Draka comes crashing and attacking it, Emron's like, yes, totally agreeing with it because that thing may have grappled Emron, but all that means is Emron can just hit it. So Emron manages to get in the grapple and just swing his hammer, ah his maul, sorry, in the face of this creature.

Speaker: um danny uh six six six damage uh as well slashing because of my rage i didn't add it oh that's three per three per attack it's been a while it's been a while it's been a while my giggle earlier was because i saw your role emron but what did you roll I've ordered two, but then plus nine is 11 to hit. That does not hit the Vrock, I'm afraid.

Speaker: like can go fuck itself, can't it? I

Speaker: don't think it can. It can go fuck itself, honestly. It's the only thing I've got to do. Cass, at this time... no um...

Speaker: I'm not going to burn my action search just to fuck it over at this stage. um

Speaker: That's the end of my game. Great. Thank you very much. Seth? ah Seeing this thing to kind of barrel down on on Emron, he's going to instinctively reach for third level Shadowblade, but then he's going to remove his hand from it, thinking better of it. Doesn't know long going to be down here. Don't want to waste it. So instead he reaches down and just pulls out the Scimitar of Wounding and holds that in his lead hand.

Speaker: and is going to jump towards this creature and swing to hit and gets two hits against this mother fudger uh the first one is annoyingly not seen in mind 16 to hit that hits please roll damage so i'm multi-rolling this the next one to hit is going to be a 25 so i'll just do both quite now i've been doing damage wrong for this so the first damage is um Three plus five, so eight points of slashing damage.

Speaker: The second one is six points of slashing damage. Yep. Plus

Speaker: for each one,

Speaker: ah So in total, for each hit, it's also 2d6 necrotic damage, and that's the total i did it for both is 15 points of necrotic damage. And can it make a DC 15 constitution saving throw? Absolutely can.

Speaker: If it fails, it can't heal... 14. Cool. cool It can't heal HP for one hour. Great. She's probably all this life it's got left. um a daughter of Those two hits, falls back into a kind of ah a position and kind of oversees. And he's going to peek over as well and just look to see what the vultures are they're doing as well and just see, are we expecting more or is this rock the only thing we're going to be tackling?

Speaker: ah If that's too much and I've got to wait another turn for that, let me know. I can't give you all of that because you're kind of trying to read a situation. But as you look over, the vultures are gone.

Speaker: Okay. The driven ones are gone. Cool. I look back to the rock, assuming they've fucked off, and look to the danger at hand, and then wait, and that's the my turn. Okay. The rocks turn and it looks hurt. It looks hurt from a series of quite powerful strikes from Seth and from Drago and from being tickled, it seems, by Emron. and And it's going to let out an almighty screech that forces you all to reach for your ears. I need all of you ah to make a constitution saving throw, please.

Speaker: Ah, feck.

Speaker: Excellent. Okay, what did we get?

Speaker: Seth got a 20, unnatural. Thank you. Nyx? He ain't here. so bob No, what am I doing? Drago.

Speaker: Drago got a 26. Thank you very much. Emron? I'd just like kind of retire Emron right now. what did you get?

Speaker: I got a 10. Okay, everyone. I've rolled shit this whole session. You are stunned until the end of the Vrocks next turn. Fuck me.

Speaker: Vrock me. yeah You're just a meat puppet. so The Vrock is just going to release its grip on you, Emron. And it is going to about face turn and look at you, Nyx.

Speaker: keep doing this, so confusing. Drago, look at you, Drago. Whilst your blade is ready to strike for its next round of strikes. And it's going to look at you. And then it's going to just look above you.

Speaker: Directly up. Uh-uh. As another of rock comes straight down just smell and strikes you, Drago.

Speaker: Strikes me? Yep. Fucking bring it.

Speaker: Okay, it's two attacks. With his beak first, how does 24 against your armor class?

Speaker: You take 11 points of piercing damage. Cool. I'm going half that if that's okay. Yeah. And then it's going to strike you again with its talon. How does an 18 do? That hits as well.

Speaker: f Four.

Speaker: 12 points of slashing damage i'm gonna take six of those thank you as this uh kind of perched now on one of the roots of this tree stump everyone's huddled around is this slightly larger female frock but that is the end of its turn top of the round drago uh the the one that looked up the one that i attacked first how far is he now from me He's still within my... He's right in front of you. Yeah, amazing. So, um question.

Speaker: Is Channel Divinity a spell? It's an action. It's a bonus action. It requires you to use a Channel Divinity charge.

Speaker: ah So, I can, as a bonus action... I had it.

Speaker: I had it.

Speaker: Oh, no, it's not bonus action. It's a fucking action. No, I think Channel 20 is normally an action. Yeah, i don't want it. I'm going just attack. Rage straight up. Just ah the Dengel Deception. the one that stood on top of Emron.

Speaker: The one that I attacked first time. He's like Dengel Deception. Like a shark almost. Tastes blood. That black ichor. So just the pommel straight over the top of Drago's head in a straight vertical slice down.

Speaker: Let's fucking go. 26. That hits. Oh, yeah, it does. It does. um That is 14 points of slashing damage.

Speaker: And then is the creature still up? Yep. ah As Denglet's Ception made a vertical slice down, it's going straight back up again into the same position, uppercut style for 29. That's a crit. That's a fucking crit. Let's fucking go. He's on it.

Speaker: He's on it. but i go ah Do I still get my magical charges from way back in the day? It's still the same sword. Yeah, that's what I'm talking about, my friend. I love you for it.

Speaker: ah So just to a remind myself and the listeners, when I crit with Dengon's Deception, I have a magical charge effect. I get three magical charges per day from a crit.

Speaker: One to 15. It does nothing. 16 to 20. KO on failing a con 15 saving throw. Look at this. Go for it. Oh my God, guys.

Speaker: It's happening.

Speaker: It feels so powerful. That's only a 12, so nothing happens. Let's just... Do we double the damage? I forgot. Yes. So that is...

Speaker: 29 points of slashing damage. And with this crit, on that return slice, you cleave the creature in two as it just falls either side, half of its corpse landing back on you, Emron, as you're covered in this black blood.

Speaker: Drago's feeling fucking mighty and powerful. And after the end of that movement, he's turning and walking towards Dengon's deception, just kind of trailing ah to his right side. He's working walking towards, he's going to square up to the female rock, like as close as possible in her space, snout to fucking beak. Let's do this.

Speaker: Okay. This thing is angry in return, but but the the scene remains. emron

Speaker: Did get your second attack, Drago? Did it? i It took two. Oh, sorry. um I can't do anything. I'm stunned. Unless the other creature's go has already gone. Or would have gone.

Speaker: It's just died. um So you'd still be stunned. You're still stunned. I can do... It is a bonus action. As a bonus action, you can utter a vow of enmity against a creature you can see within 10 feet using your channel divinity. But you have to use channel divinity. That's an action, isn't it? There we go. Shut up, Ian! God, and guys! No, you can do it as a bonus action.

Speaker: i walk up to this winged new beast and as we lock eyes and the rage burns deep as a bonus action, I'm catching i'm casting, not casting because it's not fucking, I'm just doing fucking Valve of Mimity, guys. I've got a gain advantage on attack rolls against a creature for one minute or until it drops to zero hit points or fall unconscious. It's fucking on. I'm excited.

Speaker: I'm so excited. Let's do this. What did everyone fail to do? i forgot. To not derail you. um In order to

Speaker: channel your divinity, I need you to make a religion check, please.

Speaker: Oh, shit's just gotten real. Been rolling well until now. He gets a five. And I also need you to negate the current infernal attention level, which is now set at three because of that natural one roll from Emron.

Speaker: So you need to remove three from your roll. Oh, two then. You are unable to channel the divine energy. That's fair.

Speaker: Looks like I'm just going to have to do this the hard way then. Oh, Drago Wayne. Everyone's stunned. Everyone, it's your turn, but you're stunned. End of turn. Thank you, Seth. Seth's going to wheel round and see Drago eye to eye, and then he's going to kind of jump over the shoulder of Drago and come down with two swings against this creature to lay the motherfucking smack down.

Speaker: They are going to be interesting scores of 15 and 25 to hit. Both hit. Oh, wow. you're going to take mother chuck trucker uh 17 points of slashing damage followed up by stuff's necrotic

Speaker: why isn't it why isn't it telling me 16 16 points of necrotic damage i don't have to every single time it still can't heal oh no this one this is a new one so constitution saving throw 15 plus yep uh or it can't heal oh it got a 20 non-natural yep so it can continue to heal if it can it wants to and and that's the end of my turn that's an easy all right thank you very much it is going to use a spore ability uh

Speaker: parts of that kind of um stinking, awful and dried rot within the creature's wings are just going to kind of vaporize and spread in a radius around it, which impacts all of you.

Speaker: You all need to make a con save for me, please, or you'll become poisoned.

Speaker: Oh my God. I'm rolling like a fucking champion. All right. Do we have the minus three? No, it's it's it's only on something you have attempted. okay

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: Drago. 27. You resist the poison. Emron. Dirty 20. You resist the poison. Seth. I rolled seven, then used my heroic inspiration, and then rolled a nine. Oof.

Speaker: oh You are poisoned. Poisoned. And while poisoned in this way, you'll take one d ten poison damage at the start of each of your turns.

Speaker: is that alongside the poison condition or not? Yes, the poison condition and this damage over time effect has been applied. So you'll have disadvantage on skill checks anyway for poison, and then you also and can attempt each turn ah to repeat the saving throw to shake off the the poison.

Speaker: it's it's It's not skill checks. It's attack rolls and ability checks. It's not just skill checks. Sorry, yeah. We'll do 20 rolls, isn't it Yeah. ah Okay, that's all it can do on that turn. ah It is top the round, Drago.

Speaker: Do I see that this kind of poison has taken hold of... Yeah, this thing's right in front of you. Oh, do you see it take hold of Seth? Yes. Yes, Seth's kind of looking gangrenous compared to you two. More so than usual.

Speaker: More so. Drago's been in enough battles to understand this shit. and So will... Seth stood to Drago's left. Yes, correct. No, Seth seth um leapt over you to do some strikes, so he's now on your right.

Speaker: Okay. Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm going to go for it. Yeah, Chaga's been here long enough. He understands what's happening. He's going to reach out because Dengon's reception in his right hand. With his left hand, he's going to just place it on.

Speaker: It'll be interesting see if it takes Seth's shoulder and dump five points of...

Speaker: lay on hands to cure disease neutralize you. Are still raging? I am, but it's not a spell.

Speaker: Yep. And it's not a concentration, so I should be able to do it. So, again, lay on hands. You'll need to make a religion check for me, please. Understand that. 18. minus 3.

Speaker: okay minus three fifteen 15. This spell succeeds. This ability succeeds. Okay. um So ah Akiva's

Speaker: Will imbues your body, Seth, and you start to feel this kind of almost static energy from the back of your mind. It sounds like white noise as all of a sudden the poison that was spreading over your body almost starts to get sucked up again and through that static noise as if a syringe is kind of like...

Speaker: Drago's eyes would have just kind of gone cloudy white and looking up to the heavens as he was doing this he lets go if he shakes his head to regain his rage and will give a level look to the Vrock that's all I can do this turn thanks buddy Emron no longer stunned but still prone what would you like to do? like get up and go and hit this Vrock stick it with the pointy end No, it's more of a blunt end, really, but yeah.

Speaker: just Let's see what happens. That's better. 27 to hit. Welcome to the fight. Welcome to the body, Victor. So it takes 16 points of magical bludgeoning damage.

Speaker: Thank you. It takes one point of force damage. Thank you. It is then pushed five feet away. And I love a consonant, Carol.

Speaker: And it needs to take, I need to make a con saving throw or be knocked prone. Great. ah It rolled 10.

Speaker: It fails. It is now prone as I as i use my yeah weapon mastery of topple to knock it on its ass. Nice. So when you hit, you're actually quite good, aren't you?

Speaker: yeah Yeah, when I hit, actually. When you roll well. because Because now you've got advantage on your attack with it. That's the important thing. Hell yeah. as you As you knock it back, you knock it floating above a pool of kind of that that bilious um ah ah swamp water.

Speaker: And then the effect of knocking it prone causes it to fall into the the water. Unlike what you were expecting, this creature doesn't appear to be injured by the fact that it's swimming in poison.

Speaker: but is prone still. Anything else you like to do your turn? ah No, that is the end of my go. So Seth Ferrariever. ah tentatively moving up close to the edge of the pool and so as not to fall in or hurt oneself as one does not want to get injured more than he already is. I would like to make some more attacks against this this creature with my... um Yeah. with my symetter Am I close enough in melee range to hit it?

Speaker: Yes. You can reach into the pool and stab. Okay. And I get advantage because it's prone. Wonderful. Well, I will take the first two, and that's the... God damn this application and ah would be... Are on your phone? Because I can tell you what you get. Yeah. 23 to hit.

Speaker: And then the second one is a crit. Oh, shit! i a good cup of goodgar All right. many rolls to make. do Do one at a time, because you'll you're double the necrotic damage on the... Yeah.

Speaker: So the first damage is 12 points of slashing damage. This is the non-crit or the c crit. This is the non-crit. Yep.

Speaker: And um five points of necrotic damage. And then we're doubling the dice and not the... Correct, doubling the dice. Okay, let's do this manually then.

Speaker: So then for slashing...

Speaker: slashing damage, fuck me, is 21 for the slashing damage.

Speaker: Jesus. And then 17 for the necrotic damage. Fucking hell. I hope you're not healing It's also magical just for purposes of resistances going forward. Yes, it is. Thank you.

Speaker: Thank you. Yeah, yeah it is. No, great. Got that. This thing is hurt. Those were two mighty fine swipes. Hell yeah. It's mighty fine scimitar. It's mighty fine scimitar, Danny Boy. That's the end of his turn. and He'll just make sure that he's done that and he'll move himself to a position where he's he's not blocking Drago or Emron, who he knows are quite... um ah solid people and but theyll will they'll want access they'll want in and so he'll move back a little bit to give them room to take his place where he'd been at the most in the most advantageous position to strike at them staying in range or evoking opportunity attack yes just staying within range but just shifting to the side it was more an RP thing than anything else but just give deference and come on jump in okay

Speaker: It is the frock's turn. As this frock kind of splashes and flails into this kind of poisonous ichor and eventually kind of regains its footing, you can't help but need to kind of shield yourselves or as this sprays kind of very toxic liquid towards you. So can you all please make a dexterity saving throw to try and dodge and and protect yourself from this flying acid?

Speaker: Oh, man. I don't know what's happening tonight, but...

Speaker: He's doing all right. Okay. Emeron, what get? I changed dice before I did my last attack. I'm now getting good rifles. I thought that was 18. Great. No damage, Seth.

Speaker: I got a 13. No damage. Drago? 12. No damage, as you're kind of nimbly able to just deal with these splashes as they come towards you. And as the Vrox stands, it's going to now turn its attention to you, Seth, after those two strikes, and it's going to make two attacks at you. One beginning with its beak ah is a 15 to hit.

Speaker: Miss. pure Dodge. And then with its talon, it is a 20 to hit. Hits. I'm going to take it.

Speaker: I'm going to take it. ah You take nine points of slashing damage of that one. It's fine. Thank you, temporary hit points. I've still got 28 of them left. Very good. Very good. Well prepared here, everyone. And it is just going to continue to kind of splash its feet around to cause the area around it to just be a bit dangerous at the moment. and But that's the end of its turn. Drago, top of the round.

Speaker: Drago's rage has ended because he hasn't attacked or been attacked for a round. But he's looking over what Seth did with the damage and notices how much more wounded the female Varrock looks so is going to just level headedly now rather than being fueled by rage just uh thrust forward with Dengon's deception and that's a uh fucking absolute atrocious roll I think that is a critical fail as as he gets 10 but that is a natty one on that 10 could roll d20 for me oh no I don't want to uh let's do this

Speaker: 11. Okay. Yes, it's an unsuccessful strike, and you swipe basically at thin air, and you manage to control the blade before you just put too much force on it to impact the ground and risk damaging the blade.

Speaker: ah Epic. Oh, hang on.

Speaker: I think it was a 24 to hit. Ahem. okay

Speaker: D&D Beyond played up with me. Reroll. this is This is like Calum. It says one minute ago and it says 24 and then I did the D20 roll for 11, which is what I just said.

Speaker: Yeah, what I got on screen and what's in my log is two different things. I'm going reroll that one if that's okay. Go for it.

Speaker: That's some Calum bullshittery right there. There is some Calum bullshittery, isn't it? ah That's...

Speaker: 22. it came up with 20. You can join the campaign so can see. Yeah, I think that's a good idea. 22. 22. That hits.

Speaker: Okay. That's nine points of slashing damage. ah Thank you very much. And then with my second hit, let's fucking do this. 23.

Speaker: To hit.

Speaker: to hit That hits. And that is a sexy

Speaker: sexy 16 points of slash and damage. Thank you very much. That's the end of my turn. It's nice and easy. That moves us swiftly onto Emron. Thank you.

Speaker: Mark, how have you got 28 temporary hit points?

Speaker: I had other stuff from before. Oh. I can't remember what, but there was something that had given me temporary hit points and I'd never used them. I'm fairly sure you can only have one source of temporary hit points.

Speaker: Fine. So it might have been replaced by the 17 that you were given. And also there's normally a limit to it. It normally lasts certain amount of time sometimes, but depending on the source. Boop. Sorry. I can't see what's taken I hadn't like this third. They don't stack. So it'll have to be the 17 you receive from Drago.

Speaker: No worries. It's just 17. Okay. Cool.

Speaker: Thank you. Keep me honest. You bitch. Sorry. i was like I was like, did I miss here? And instead of putting 17, it should have been 17. And i was like, oh, hang on a minute. That's a big spell.

Speaker: Yeah, I was checking. Right. Sorry. Okay. um Okay, this thing looks pretty weak. So everyone's going to step forward and with the others continue wailing on this. I assume, is it still prone or does it lift itself up now? No, it's lifted back up now.

Speaker: Okay, i will I will step forward and try and hit it again.

Speaker: For a 23. Hits.

Speaker: It takes 13 points of bludgeoning damage. Thank you very much. Four points of force damage. Thank you very much. um if i'm I'm not going to push it five feet, but it's still... Can I make a constitution saving throw, please? 19. Yeah, that passes this time. It no longer it does not get knocked prone.

Speaker: um But that's it. M1's in its face trying to hit it with his hammer. All right. Thank you much. Seth?

Speaker: I'm going to hit it with my scimitar of wounding until it dies, if that's okay, Danny. ah My first one is going to be a 10 to hit. Miss. 27 to hit.

Speaker: Hit. I'll just keep saying numbers until you say yes, really. So that I'm going to get eight points of slashing damage for it, and then the necrotic damage will be a nice round 10 points of necrotic damage.

Speaker: Nice, nice, nice, nice, nice. And yeah, that's the end of my turn. It is the Brock's turn. It's looking weak and it is going to ah use its action to disengage.

Speaker: And it is going to a fly northward. has 60 feet. So it's going to fly over the corpses ah northward out of this basin.

Speaker: But that's all it can do this round. Drago.

Speaker: Take your time, Lugolas.

Speaker: you muted.

Speaker: 60 feet away? Yep, about 65 for you. Okay. ah Dengon's deception is going to drop to the side and with a grab and a throw, the mighty axe of Shadar is getting hoofed at it because that's got 90 feet of range on that.

Speaker: Fuck yeah. Is that long range or is it 90 and then something else or is it...

Speaker: It's just the throne properties, range, 90 feet. This was a homebrew weapon from back in the day.

Speaker: Second weather it is like a... That's fine. Because obviously some things have a long range and a normal range. That's fine. I'll just check to you. Thank you. ah Let's do this. 19 to hit.

Speaker: ah Hits. Go ahead roll damage. Fuck yes. Shade, I'll be with me.

Speaker: ah That's 13 points of damage. um And then I've got 1d10 of lightning to add. What's the first type? Just slashing. Slashing. Thank you. And who one point of lightning damage.

Speaker: and then the axe as it gets flung forwards and hits it then materializes back in Drago's hand as ah the lightning storm brings it back to me.

Speaker: Great. Awesome. ah Thank you very much. The rock is still flying nonetheless. Emron, your turn. gonna move ah sort of around the pool to get closer to it. And I will cast a Sacred Flame on it. Excellent. Would you make a religion check first, please? Of course.

Speaker: How's a 24? Even with a minus three? That's absolutely fine. Go ahead. and I'm making a dex save on it. You need to make a dex save, please. Probably gonna pass it, but why not? 16. Yeah, that passes. That's okay.

Speaker: Never mind. Not bad for a cantrip. Anything else, everyone?

Speaker: No, ah that is that is the only ranged spell I have. Okay, thank you very much. Seth, you're up. Having mean i mean the same idea as everyone else, i'm seeing the axe fly over his head, everyone run to the left, Seth's going to barrel around, they pull to the right-hand side and do a similar thing, just getting within the range, reaching down, pulling at a tab and throwing. And what happens is he throws this and red mist, this small bell forms and grows bigger and bigger then smaller as it gets closer and it's taller dead, 60 feet range. So I've been within range. So it's wisdom saving throw, 15. Okay.

Speaker: Wisdom. Isn't it a disadvantage because it's taking damage? Is that a thing for the belt? Not for the to pass it, but it's the damage, yes. It gets two. Apologies. It doubles. No, you're good.

Speaker: That is a seven on its wisdom save. So it fails. So it takes... Let just check. I think goes up even higher. Damage increases by one die when you reach levels five.

Speaker: We're past level five. That was 2d8. Okay, there you But then, oh, no, you sorry. Ignore that because it's not 2d8. Because it's taking damage, well, you're right, it's 2d12 it takes instead, which gives me more opportunity for pain.

Speaker: Nice. 13 points of necrotic damage. It's good that you read that rule. How do you want to do this, Matt? Oh, yes! I like to think it'd be really, because in the the world you've created for us at the moment, Danny, you've done a wonderful job of explaining this horrific place. I feel like it be really muted and really kind of almost like the sound gets eaten up by the volatility of where we are and that we'd all, all these things of fly off and like, we'd be strained to see it. And then we just see it slowly fall and just hit the ground. And like, it wouldn't be in a big,

Speaker: big moment. And it's like we, it's like we're deafened and we just see it just, and it just dissipates. It hits the other side. Maybe there's a little plume of muck or something on the ground, but I think it's really understated and really undramatic and,

Speaker: Just we we got, I think, and in the hindsight, we all realise how close we were to getting shafted by that. Like, if it got in way, what might it have brought back? And there's, I don't know, Seth at least will give a look to the two, just kind of like a, fuck, we almost we dodged a bullet there, if bullets existed.

Speaker: And with no perceivable threat, I'll break initiative.

Speaker: Okay, that ah didn't go too badly. Okay. Apart from you need to learn how to keep on your feet, though, Imran. It's okay. It's okay. We got through it. Yeah, okay. um Should we check those bodies before we go to the... We're a bit closer. I was about to say the same thing. and Let's go see what they are.

Speaker: Really? Let's go over. They're corpses. It's literally on the... Well, no, we need to find out what else is out here. is It could be, for all we know, like bloody... People from Aerith as well. We need to work out what's going on.

Speaker: Fine. Don't take too long. It's on the way. Drago picks up Dengon's deception. And as you kind of advance to inspect these corpses, um as you're stepping closer and closer...

Speaker: What's becoming clear is that these are fallen corpses from Tolkelon's armies. But these are those gold-plated, masked, baby-faced demons, the Merogons, that you have fought and encountered a number of times on Erith. These are three that have been discarded for whatever means you'd need to look closer.

Speaker: But they are kind of...

Speaker: the the The feast that the the juvenile vultures were pecking at. Can I try and investigate to work out what killed them? Yeah, great for it and make a medicine check. 21.

Speaker: It doesn't need you to inspect too long. before you kind of spot in all three, a massive void through the chest as though they were skewered with something the size of a, of a cannon, maybe slightly with a bigger circumference than that, but something circular seemed to have skewered these all in the exact same places.

Speaker: and removed ribs or where ribs you'd expect to be, lungs, heart, if you're going to try and make connections with a humanoid form, all of that kind of top core of the abdomen just stripped out.

Speaker: Whatever killed these things was either or really big or really fucking powerful.

Speaker: I just don't couldn't imagine something on his plane where his his thing is, trying to kill his own things. Could there be someone else out here? I mean, Drago, did you see anything else out here that might be fighting on our side, as it were, when you were last here?

Speaker: No, we should move on.

Speaker: Okay. Now we're closer to the skull. What can we see from the distance? Oh my God. Are you looking at that fucking skull? you're You're still about 40 feet away, but it is the skull of ah human like shaped belonging to a human bigger than a giant, belonging to to a creature kind of unscalable with your your reference, but that they would have to be the size of a dragon yet hold a human ah a human head.

Speaker: Okay, do we want to keep going to the circle or go see what's happening with that skull? Can we still see something glowing in it? Yeah, there's still some green lights glowing within it. Don't get distracted.

Speaker: Circle, we have a job to do. Don't you have your best friend to come and save?

Speaker: Yeah, but it's like six seconds to like get there and back. Fine. And Drago will walk towards the circle.

Speaker: Drago, as you get to the kind of... It's on like this raised stump of of of root and stone. So you have to kind of climb up to it. And as you climb up to it...

Speaker: I'd like you to make a history check for me as you kind of inspect the sigil, the iconography of the circle. That is a nine on a history check.

Speaker: Something in your past is remembering those images.

Speaker: Whether it's

Speaker: Whether it's something you saw printed, whether it's something you saw engraved, whether it's something you saw carved, whether it's something you saw inked upon flesh, you've seen that sigil before and you have despised seeing it.

Speaker: You can't quite connect all the dots.

Speaker: Targos kind of stood there, forward brow.

Speaker: And then we'll leap onto it and wait for the others. And there's a there's a light kind of resonance to it. As you step onto it, you can kind of feel almost like a static charge almost.

Speaker: You know magic's been cast here a lot, so it just kind of has a residue. Emron? Emron's going to look too towards... Seth, look towards the skull.

Speaker: Part of him wants to go and investigate. He wants to know about what is going on around them. um Do love it, do it, do it.

Speaker: He looks towards Seth and goes, take a look at the skull or go at the circle? You know what they're saying, we only go to hell once. Skull it is You do your thing.

Speaker: um ah I'll go chill by the year. Don't be too long. you If you bring back some horror, we're going to start this circle thing up quickly. you like Don't forget, how you spell-wise, because Prego said to send to a powerful spell.

Speaker: Yeah, what's his inception of what powerful means, man? Because, like, he's pretty powerful. If he's, like, big boy spell, I don't really want to waste it much. No. um I'll try a cantrip to see if it works.

Speaker: Okay. Emron's going to wander closer towards the skull. So, Emron, you're moving towards the skull. Seth, you're moving towards the circle? Correct. Seth, you'd arrive at the circle first, so we'll come to you first. And you see kind of a slightly confused Drago unnerved Drago waiting maybe just off-center.

Speaker: But as you kind of climb up that stump and you see the sigils that are on this stone circle, I'd like you also to make a history check to see if you can place them. Okey dokey, that is 17.

Speaker: You're awash with fear for a second as you're taken back to a very desperate moment in your not too distant past.

Speaker: You fought but at the blight. You have in some ways rubbed shoulder shoulder with Drago before, though never this closely and never this kind of connected.

Speaker: But the creature that commanded the blight

Speaker: had that exact sigil tattooed upon its chest, upon its arms, engraved within its robes.

Speaker: that is ah That is the demonic symbol belonging to Grazet. And instinctively, you make that connection. And you're not convinced Drago has.

Speaker: Fuck.

Speaker: Seth's not going to tell him. um with fear as to what Drago would... the way he reacted to, can we trust him? Seth knows we have to trust him.

Speaker: He understands the connection. he has He's not got the emotional connection to Grazid. He's gonna piece this together and the headband of intellect that gives him his power of intellect be warm with if it was battery powered the battery would be warm with all the neurological firings you see the cogs moving at super time like ooh smoke out the ears as he figures it out and just kind of takes that information on all right uh everyone's going to look at the skull drago and uh i'm gonna

Speaker: i gotta cast a spell on this right even no no rush to burn something i want to do I can make a horse appear.

Speaker: Would that be useful, do you think, at the other end? To move quickly? Can a horse carry three of us? No. No. Okay.

Speaker: I'm just thinking of a good spell to use, that's all. As you're looking through your spells and discussing this. Actually, I have one. Sorry. Yes. Sorry, go ahead.

Speaker: We'll come back to it. Emron, at this point, you're now kind of approaching the skull, I imagine, cautiously. And the green light you can see kind of in the hollow space behind the nose and behind the eyes seems to be ah a form, a humanoid form.

Speaker: And the green light is just revealing parts of them intermittently. They appear robed and masked. And they stand in a pool of this kind of boggy acid that that is is it you'd you'd have to step into if you wanted to get close to them.

Speaker: Okay. Okay.

Speaker: um

Speaker: um From where I am, can I sort of, do I don't need to go into the bog to actually get close to them? You're about 15 feet away from them and they're surrounded by this kind of violet but bilious liquid.

Speaker: So if you wanted to get closer than 15 feet, you would need to step into it or kind of risk climbing or jumping onto it. But it's uncertain, the kind of integrity of it.

Speaker: Yeah. ah jjiji yeah

Speaker: Um, from the distance I'm at, what, what do I, do I get an impression of anything more about who or what it is? Does it look like one of Tolkilon's forces? Does it look make a perception check?

Speaker: I will do something.

Speaker: Seven on the roll, pass for 12. Really hard to tell. As you study it as best you can, you glean maybe two things.

Speaker: This person is human.

Speaker: And this person is wearing robes of a desert traveler of the Dralakian sands. Okay.

Speaker: Okay. Let's poke the thing. Everyone's like, oh, in there. You all right?

Speaker: I can't move.

Speaker: Okay, okay. That's, uh... Where am I? but We're going to get you out there. Um...

Speaker: ah Uh... Okay, um I'm going to try and carefully navigate as best I can to get to him without trying to avoid the pool as much as possible without.

Speaker: You'd have to kind of leap onto the kind of upper lip bone section of the ah top, top, the piece where the mouth beats the nose in the skull.

Speaker: Am I worried that that would, if that if that breaks, will that hurt him? It's hard to see the integrity because it's it is ah like I said, it's between 10 and 15 feet away from you.

Speaker: Okay. I'm going to touch myself. I'm going to cast protection from energy and give myself resistance to acid and I'm going to step through the portal water. Can you make a religion check, please?

Speaker: Yeah. That's a 14. Minus three. and minus three 11. The spell does not work.

Speaker: Do I burn the slot or not? You but burn the slot. Fine. Fuck it. I'm going wade through the water, throw the pond try and get this helps guy. um In that sense, of got to help people. You're going wade through?

Speaker: Yep. As you step in, Seth and Drago, as you're perusing your kind of spell collection, you just hear a splash And Emron, I need you to make a constitution saving throw to try and hold back the screams as this kind of acrid burning is just going to hurt.

Speaker: Okay. That's a four, but I am going to use my tactical mind and I'm going to roll a D10 and add that to the thing and burn a use of my second wind.

Speaker: And um

Speaker: that's better. So that is a 14 in total. You're able to hold back the need to scream as you're immediately met with this rush of acidic damage as you sustain four points of acid damage.

Speaker: Cool.

Speaker: But you you are now wading in the water. Okay, I'm going to try and get close to this guy and see if I can help him out. It's quite difficult terrain, so you need a few steps to get closer to this form. Is it magical difficult terrain?

Speaker: No. i I ignore difficult terrain because of my hammer. Excellent. Excellent. Then this isn't um slowing you down, but while you're in there, you are sustaining damage. So as you take another step forward and you meet this person, they don't they don't kind of echo that that motion to run towards you. They just stood frozen. Okay.

Speaker: And that kind of rotating green light occasionally illuminating their form. You get within five feet of this thing.

Speaker: And the light isn't revealing any more detail.

Speaker: They aren't moving.

Speaker: And they just repeat, where am I?

Speaker: Can I reach out try and touch him? You can. At the same time, just because you're in that pool, you'll take another two points of acid damage. Yeah, fine.

Speaker: As you reach out and try and touch the form, your hand meets no resistance back.

Speaker: You pass through the image. Yeah, so Emma will will put his hand out and then try and grab his shoulder. And obviously, I just grasped in there. You just air. Just air.

Speaker: Okay. That sucks. um Six points of acid damage. No, Emma's to get out there. There's nothing he If can't really touch the guy, i can't help him. Okay.

Speaker: If you get out quickly, you'll only take those six extra then. Yeah, gets out quickly. As you turn back. The form is still there.

Speaker: The green light still swirling around it.

Speaker: I've got nothing that can... don't have anything like dispel magic or anything like that. um

Speaker: Yeah, everyone just sort of looks... over his shoulder feels ejected because doesn't know whether there's something more he could do but he knows time against them he he was going in there thinking i can pull this guy out carry him out and and and save someone but there's clearly more to it than what meets the eye and it's beyond them on sort of like this is what i need to do um someone gets out of the acid and sort looks over shoulder and says I'm sorry.

Speaker: And then moves over to the others. And as he sort of gets closer, he says, don't if that's someone trapped or if it's a trick or or what, but I don't know.

Speaker: You both can kind of see like sizzles coming off the lower half of Emron's armor and traveling gear.

Speaker: Enjoy your swim.

Speaker: Looked like someone needed help. And the hells is a hell of a place to be, so for people who aren't prepared for it, I had to try. but I don't know whether it's like a trap, whether it's one of those one of things where it tries to draw you in. I don't know if i'd got closer to it. it could have trapped me, or if it is someone trapped, and there's more magical stuff to it because it's beyond my ken.

Speaker: I tried to grab it, but hands went right through him. So if he's real, ah now I can do. Not without us wasting more time and I've delayed us long enough.

Speaker: It's a trap. Everything you see here, you need to question.

Speaker: One thing is real. We need to get to where we need to go. Do what we need to do and finish the mission.

Speaker: Okay. um Seth, do you have any spells? who don't I can try and cast a cantrip or something if if you want me to. um While you're doing that, ah Seth's been down by the corpses and he kind of looks up like, huh? And he's half dragging up one of the corpses.

Speaker: Yeah, I've got a really good one. um i did He's going to drag it the corpse up and dump it on the circle and and then we'll start... circle and then we'll start um

Speaker: He'll start an incantation, which i imagine would be, he'd pull out a tab of his book and a very delight red ah light red will linger on all his fingers. And then with each finger he touch one ear,

Speaker: One eye, one eye, the mouth, and then the other ear. And then this kind of mask of red hue would appear on across the creature, sink into the face as he casts Speak with Dead, which is the third level spell in case for for mechanics to start the thing.

Speaker: Two purposes Seth has in his mind. One, he's casting a powerful quote-unquote spell, and two, he might be able to garner some information out of this corpse, given that he wasn't the killer.

Speaker: ah Perhaps and get some more information about, I don't know, just the lay of the land, what's happening, what killed it, and to know if there is any descent within the hells that they might be able to use to advantage or cover, etc.

Speaker: and That's his thinking. As he casts Speak With Dead upon the the corpse of one of Tolcolon's

Speaker: people. Demons. Demons. And as you place the corpse over that stone circle and cast that spell, the body kind of glows blue.

Speaker: And the stone circle beneath it glows blue too.

Speaker: But the jaw just opens...

Speaker: and a wave of kind of ashy dust exhales from the creature as it just rolls its head lifelessly facing you, Seth.

Speaker: What killed you?

Speaker: to check his languages. Oh, yeah. This is why it speaks infernal. don't know what happened. We're all fucked, yeah.

Speaker: Ask the corpse with the five questions. If anyone knows what it knew in life, including the languages it knew, answers are usually brief, cryptic or repetitive. The corpse has no compulsion to give you truthful answer if you're antagonistic towards it or recognises you as an enemy.

Speaker: It doesn't speak verbally, instead speaking telepathically only to you.

Speaker: The master.

Speaker: What did you do to upset him?

Speaker: Were there many of you killed by his wrath?

Speaker: Hundreds.

Speaker: How might mortals traverse this plane without loss of life?

Speaker: All mortals will perish.

Speaker: Okay, thanks. Positive. I like it. I like it. I got one more question, guys. And

Speaker: and he kind of opens up his head. He doesn't want to say a question in case it it tries to answer us. He's just going to put his hands up. Looks and sort of

Speaker: Numbers of foes ahead towards um Seth.

Speaker: Okay. Between us and the Citadel, how many of you, kind? Zero. Zero.

Speaker: zero

Speaker: And that was the fifth question. And you watch as the body falls lifeless again, but the stone circle remains blue and charged.

Speaker: Seth then, because it was all telepathic, explained, okay, he said this is there's none of them, none of these guys are left between here and the Citadel. ah Everything else was a bit vague, bit fucking useless, but realistically all we need to know is that he was killed by you-know-who,

Speaker: um There are lots of them that were killed. He doesn't know why. um I don't know if that was helpful, but knowing there's none between here and there is, I think, quite useful. Perhaps. Yeah, that's good. That means the hell is have emptied.

Speaker: why Why would he kill his own people? Unless he's like killing them for some sort of ritual, maybe? That would be. or You begin to be enveloped in a veil of blue light. Oh, shit. Oh, good.

Speaker: It's working.

Speaker: It's taking its time, but gradually like ah like a tank filling with water, slowly getting above head height. What do you think, Drago?

Speaker: I think that we should have been doing this a long time ago.

Speaker: and as you get that very dry look from your dragonborn companion, for the first time, this veil... provides shelter, provides a constant source of of pure light, but provides a cool ah kind of aura, and you are swallowed for a second into that white light. And as you reappear, you reappear in a much different terrain than the one you left.

Speaker: The bog kind of density is no longer ever present as it was. You are now on crafted ground. trod ground.

Speaker: You stand now amongst a a battlefield that has no soldiers. You stand amongst an ah a vast acreage of

Speaker: land recently abandoned.

Speaker: And as you look around, you spy two things. in one direction, a dark, dark, skyscraping,

Speaker: palatial structure.

Speaker: And sight of that, Drago takes you right back to your previous visit. As you know, you stare upon the avarice citadel, maybe four, five miles to the east.

Speaker: But directly in front of you all, a different structure, a suspended structure in the sky that sits above ahah above a waterfall of red lava, is this floating fortress that is anchored to the earth at a series of points, and at the very top, but the very

Speaker: spire of this fortress, a sheer white light pierces through the crust of the clouds and out of this plain.

Speaker: And then over your shoulders, the image of Prago, Prago? The image of Prago, Prago, reappears.

Speaker: The Flown Fortress.

Speaker: This is what you seek. This is where I am. This is where you break the curse. This is where you need your key.

Speaker: Step one was getting here. Step two is getting us out.

Speaker: Danny, does it almost look like a ah a parody or a comparison to the Steel Nightmare and in in the way it's anchored and that kind of stuff? No, it's this is kind of suspended by by rock and lava and by magical means. that But there are a number of kind of thinner chains not meeting the kind of structure and density of of the metal the metal that you're it's you'd recognize with a Steel Nightmare. Okay. Okay.

Speaker: Right, okay. So we need to go up there, find the point, and then send a message to Syingar to send us the key. Okay, okay. now No, yeah.

Speaker: I am bound in the upper floors. Locked in. There is a big number to cut through.

Speaker: Number of what? Foes.

Speaker: Those who remain from the invasion above. Goldfeist. And the rest.

Speaker: This is... This is one of the most vulnerable points in the plane because... Because of the curse.

Speaker: This is the only thing Tolkonon needs to guard here. He'll have abandoned his citadel now.

Speaker: Yeah, this is all very good. Which is the way to go?

Speaker: that, I do not know how you access from the ground. I'll do what I can, but... You brought us here. He's a prisoner there, Draco. He doesn't exactly have the plans. Do the chains look like they could we could climb them, Dany?

Speaker: you're you're still a good kind of a quarter of three mile at best from the base of this but there seem to be lots of kind of thin chains that are drooped over but it's you're too far to kind of make a good deduction of that everyone looks we might be able to climb once we get closer we might be able to climb up get up as quick as we can unless Seth you've got a flying spell ready any point no nothing I've got misty step but I don't think that will work for us Okay, let's get closer. Maybe we can climb.

Speaker: And as you move through but and step off the stone circle that is also at your feet, the image of Prager the Majestic dissipates.

Speaker: What you're looking at ahead is a giant mountain. and set maybe a fair distance in front of it, an equally giant floating fortress in the sky.

Speaker: And you have to kind of hike around the edge of a lower mountain to kind of see the entire structure in itself. And you see this pool of well-constructed, cared-for,

Speaker: channels of red lava. This has been the only kind of break in the fell green that you have been surrounded by until this point. But but an element that you recognize from the material plane, unlike everything else you have seen so far,

Speaker: A series of kind of floating rocks, almost boulders-sized, from this kind of scale float outside, of making a kind of a ritual ring for which the giant fortress sits within.

Speaker: And at the very top, you kind of see more of that glowing light that's shooting a beam into the sky. And as you edge over closer and try and inspect the ground, you are maybe a quarter of a mile out now and you're just looking up at this sheer colossal impossibility of an architectural wonder.

Speaker: For players only. I've sent you a ah rendering of my recording of this world. Listeners, you can hear the reaction, and that is where we are going to end this week's episode of The Fellowship of the Tabletop, Bellum Draconis.
