jarrod_dyke: Let's do some fancy stuff, shall we, friends? um We are on to fancy corner time. um So we're gonna talk a little bit about this little lead that we cobbled together for the women's rugby for PWR.
jarrod_dyke: So, um going off similar things we talked about last year um with some slight tweaks to it. um We're hoping that we don't know what stats we're going to get our hands on.
jarrod_dyke: So some of this, well, we're definitely getting our hands on some of this is like fingers crossed.

jarrod_dyke: So like things like try assists and we couldn't even get our hands on tackles missed last year. That was kind of annoying. So it's just like, yeah, all right. They're out there trying to make tackles. Go for it. So anyway, um, so here's how it goes. Everyone's going to pick each week, a forward, a back and a kicker. You can't pick the same one until we get to the halfway point of the season resets after that. And then we'll, and then we'll come back to it. Um, got to get everything into us before kickoff of the game. So this week it'll be before the.
jarrod_dyke: Saracen's game, um saturday morning Saturday morning here in the United States, Saturday afternoon over in the UK, so on and so forth.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yep. So 9 a .m. Right. I am Boston time. Yep.
jarrod_dyke: So there's all that is that. So you gotta give it to us before that. Otherwise we're gonna probably tell you, sorry, you're getting a do donut for the day.
Grumpy Old Prop: Right.

Grumpy Old Prop: Unless I think we did it. Well, no, I look for the for the first week, I think we'll be relaxed about it, because if you want to you want in, you want in, we'll we'll sort it out a bit. If you're late, you can only pick from the games that have not yet kicked off.
jarrod_dyke: Yeah, so you were to get in before the 10 o 'clock window kicks up because then you're s so well.
Grumpy Old Prop: Right, then you then you get, well, Gloucester or Leicester players entirely.
jarrod_dyke: Yeah, that's it.

jarrod_dyke: That's all you got. Sorry. Anywho, so yeah, a forward, a back, and a kick, Aaron, Ben and I are going to talk about which ones we're picking today. So Scoring for but so both are very similar with the exception of the meters. The meters are 0 .1 meters for a back for every meter made and then 0 .2 for every meter made for forwards.
jarrod_dyke: adds up quick. If you got a damn good back row or a hooker in there, trust me. Um, we'll talk about some of the scores that hit the highlights last year. Uh, tries are five. Obviously, um, we're going to do tackles 0 .5 this year and we're going to miss tackles one minus one for every two. So you can miss one and not get penalized is basically what that comes down to. So that's what that comes down to. I think it'll be,
jarrod_dyke: We'll have less gaudy numbers with some of our tacklers this year with that.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah.
jarrod_dyke: Again, assuming we can get our hands on the missed tackle numbers, we couldn't. um Again, other numbers we would love to add. Hopefully we can get our hands on them. um Defender's beaten a point for each one of those.
jarrod_dyke: Line breaks, two two for every one of those. Assist, we'd love to have three. Let's try assist and know that.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yes.
jarrod_dyke: So that'll be three points. um
Grumpy Old Prop: you
jarrod_dyke: Kicker scoring will be, as you'd expect, penalties three, conversions two, misses minus one. If we can get our hands on 50 -22, we're gonna give that and a nice fat four points for our kickers.
Grumpy Old Prop: Is that, but that should be forever. Anybody. Cause props props can kick a 50 22.

jarrod_dyke: Yellow card minus five, red card minus 10. So I think we only had one player, one or two players last year that were picked that ended up landing themselves in hot water of that sort.
Grumpy Old Prop: I feel like I got one of them.
jarrod_dyke: um Yeah. Some of the big weeks. Scroll down here. I can, that I can definitely a report. um Like, uh, like Sophie to goodie was a, was a monster.
jarrod_dyke: Unfortunately, she won't be around to do that with her knee. Um, 56, one of the, one of the opening weekends was a big, was a big old fat number up there. Um, we only have numbers, obviously the weeks that people pick these players.
jarrod_dyke: So that also kind of throws things into perspective for that sake. Um, Kabeya was a big one, one week, one week with 37, you know, killed Don and Matthews both 50 one weekend in one weekend.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah.
jarrod_dyke: Come on, what's going on with that? Like, goddamn. So, yeah, there there probably won't be Asgardian numbers because we're messing with those tackle numbers, but there will still be some fat numbers out there, like well into the 30s, I would I would expect.
Grumpy Old Prop: Mm hmm. Right.
jarrod_dyke: So pretty good stuff out there. So, yeah, those are the types of players we're going to be looking for out there. um Yeah, make sure you email us.

Grumpy Old Prop: Um, so yeah, it's a fucking tough week in division two. So I, in every single one of my leagues, other than this one, I moved up like significantly either double digits or or more.

Grumpy Old Prop: Um, no room to hide up. I, I dropped a fourth. Um, and the thing is between me and Paul, Paul's at the top with, uh, 399, I have three 77 were 22 points away.
Grumpy Old Prop: So it's not like it's a. ah Gergantuan leap there. Barty's got, he's in second with 391, so he's only eight points away. Aubrey got the yellow hat um and just bypassed me. She's at 380.
Grumpy Old Prop: um And a half and I'm at 377. So we're all within 22 and about 22 and a half and then beyond that it's Almost a hundred point drop between myself and fifth place re Rebel Scrum who I still can't remember who that is um Is that who is that Luke yeah Luke and then um Franco 280 he's he's almost a hundred points behind me and

jarrod_dyke: we we We heard him. um Also shout out to Carl and Will for putting together a league that we can actually play in. ah Dream 15. um
jarrod_dyke: We are going to be a part of their league that we won't say what it is because it's not public, a public thing, but we're basically going to be helping them try out this whole thing and see if we can get another, um, fantasy option out there because who doesn't want more.

jarrod_dyke: You know, it'd be awesome if, you know, like premier ship pulled their head out of their ass and did an actual league of their own.

Grumpy Old Prop: um Obviously you're going to go with the majority of these teams. So I'm just talking about like some of the, the, the border guys, cause you're going to go with the back, basically the back three, except for Ram from Northampton.
jarrod_dyke: Right.
Grumpy Old Prop: Um, kind of at this point, Quinn's, um, I'm not sure what Cleves is at as far as cost, but he might be someone to consider.
jarrod_dyke: He needs to be healthy.

Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah. Oh, did he get hurt? I thought he thought he that's right.
jarrod_dyke: He came off injured. He came off and injured. Don't know what the status is, but if he's healthy, it's not a bad option.
Grumpy Old Prop: OK, yeah, that's true. um And then the obviously the tens. Yes, I don't really trust at this point that the Quinn's centers on Yahoo, I should say, is it still a. A solid option, especially for the the cost, I just don't i I would really like to see him.
Grumpy Old Prop: Return to that for me was in like two or three years ago or two years ago when he was just tearing it up.
jarrod_dyke: Same.
Grumpy Old Prop: um Yeah, stick with the the those loose forwards, as you know, the Evans is. um ah CCS and then pretty much the entire back three of of of the Saints should do well.
jarrod_dyke: Excuse me. Yep.
Grumpy Old Prop: And then obviously there are locks. I'd go with Saints locks over Quinn's locks any day and and twice on Saturday or Friday.
jarrod_dyke: So hands down, hands down right now. Yeah.
Grumpy Old Prop: And I would just stay away from the front row because there's too many other skill positions, too many other positions that are are worth it.
jarrod_dyke: Twice on Friday.

I know he didn't do great last week, but it'll still be good for the cost. He is. I'm going to give a thumbs up to John Luke, the pre of this week, because there's probably going to be space because cluster provided.

Grumpy Old Prop: And I think that's going to, that that's going to kind of tilt towards their favor, but at the same time, that also means it tilts towards like everyone's favor in um fantasy rugby. Cause I, I really liked both of these back lines, um, across the board as far as scoring.

Grumpy Old Prop: Um, I'm still not quite, although AJ had a huge week this past week, didn't he? Um,

Grumpy Old Prop: Hard to ignore that um because i you know theres there'll be penalty, there'll be kicks on offer and apparently he's got his legs back.

Grumpy Old Prop: Right. And then we'll put on the other side, Bristol, it's hard because you never know what they're going to produce. um You know, Batley is the one guy out of this pack that I'd be like, you kind of have to have on your team.

Grumpy Old Prop: Other than that, you're still looking at it between Maylands because they're just raking. um I don't know that I have Jans van Rensberg. I'm just not sure I want to. I don't know what to do with him right now.
jarrod_dyke: Yeah, um umm I'm, I'm triaging my team.

jarrod_dyke: I'm trying to get rid of some players and I have.

Grumpy Old Prop: So that's one center that I can't really spend another. I can't justify two switches depending on. Lineups.
jarrod_dyke: Right. Right. Right. No, I agree. Um, yeah, bail is at 3 million is probably your best option for a bath, a bath, back rower.
Grumpy Old Prop: For a bath. Yeah. And then hope he plays. That's the thing. It's like is it it's it his week to to take a rest because.

Grumpy Old Prop: He could go from the starting lineup to like just not playing for two weeks.

Grumpy Old Prop: And that's just because Bathard rotating their guys through.

jarrod_dyke: It is. All right. Newcastle and Leicester. A couple of starts for the Falcons. Blahmyer, Sammy Arnold is showing some promises.

jarrod_dyke: I mean, he doesn't hurt himself, but, and then, and Rads, I'm still okay with Rads.
Grumpy Old Prop: Break himself. Yeah.
jarrod_dyke: He is expensive as hell, but if you've invested that money in Radwine, you're playing him.

jarrod_dyke: So that's all that is. Highly young guys that I would advise against. Vanderwalt, Stewart, Daugherty, and Obie.
Grumpy Old Prop: Mhmm.
jarrod_dyke: There were other guys in there that are highly owned, but I know why they're highly owned because they're cheap as hell. And people are trying to fill in the gaps for what they can for the Tigers.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah.
jarrod_dyke: Um, front rowers, Nikki Smith, Hayes and Claire are our goes. Um, second rowers, chess and Martin and Wells are all goes. Um, even Bergen ruffel. Yep. Give them a shot, especially leaving break.
jarrod_dyke: I like him a little bit better than ruffel. Um, Ben Portley, yep. We'll see if Pollard's back. If he is, yes, you're playing him. Hassell Collins actually has scored well the last couple of weeks.
jarrod_dyke: So despite, we'll score it even better if you don't want to let God damn try.
Grumpy Old Prop: Mm hmm.
jarrod_dyke: um And then I'll ahll give Flank Freddy one more week. Couple of sits though, um Dan Cole and Josh Bassett, just don't touch him.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah.
jarrod_dyke: Even in this situation, don't touch him.
Grumpy Old Prop: Okay, then ah last but certainly not least Saracen's Exeter. Exeter still are looking very um like they're giving up points to forwards, but most of that's because they make the easy tackles.
Grumpy Old Prop: So it's like a lot of positivity from making five pick and go tackles and missing none because you pretty much can't miss that tackle at all.
jarrod_dyke: Mm hmm.
Grumpy Old Prop: um So. frenzy of points for the Saracens forwards who are generally the higher scoring forwards in the in the league which means you know they're back three or a must -start. Tom Willis I'm very pleased with him and I think that please will continue throughout this match too.
Grumpy Old Prop: um Earl, obviously, the locks, Tojay and whoever is is next to him. Yes.
jarrod_dyke: Mm hmm.
Grumpy Old Prop: And then, you know, I have Theo Dan on my roster just because it's either going to be, you know, him starting in George. Um, backing up or George starting and him backing up until they're both gone for, for, uh, yeah.
jarrod_dyke: Right. November. Yeah.
Grumpy Old Prop: Um, international duty. So, um, I'd still ride with him, but the backs are still are showing up pretty well. Just kind of sucks. And that would certainly be looking at, um, Lizowski in the backs.
Grumpy Old Prop: If he's going to be, if he's going to be kicking.
jarrod_dyke: Yeah, makes it hard to know your 10.
Grumpy Old Prop: it might be It might be worth it. It just kind of sucks because Fergus Burke's got to go. now
jarrod_dyke: Yep, sadly, sadly.
Grumpy Old Prop: um But on the other side for Exeter, I'd really be looking at their back three, doing the most damage here.

Grumpy Old Prop: Their forwards, anybody could get a, all ah um not a maul over, but a push over try. Like that's kind of, they'll get one of those and it's, you know, flip a eight sided coin um to figure out who that might be.
Grumpy Old Prop: Other than that, it's really the threats to score are their back three.
jarrod_dyke: Yep. Yep. All right. OT dubs. So I really tried not to do it again this week, but, um, I didn't like anything else that was happening.
jarrod_dyke: So my start of the week is going to be all he has to call it. I really tried not to get, I don't want it to be a trend where I'm just picking the guy against new castle, but I lost it. I'm like, I don't want to pick a sherry cause I don't want jins to change the shit up because we know we're really good at mushing these things.

jarrod_dyke: And I don't want to. And I couldn't I couldn't justify any of the sale players and I was looking at both of them Both those matchups. Those are the ones I was literally i'm like Nope, no choice. um Yeah hassle Collins has actually started pretty well. So I think this would be another good week form
Grumpy Old Prop: um My start of the week, I mentioned him and it's it's almost.
Grumpy Old Prop: It's I think, you know, a little bit even easier. Unfortunately, I think that going against just going against Newcastle, but um my start of the week is going to be Tom Willis for Saracens.
jarrod_dyke: Hmm.
Grumpy Old Prop: um As I said, he's going to be asked to make a lot of easy tackles and not asked to make too many difficult ones. And. He can exploit that exit or defense, so.
jarrod_dyke: Hmm.
Grumpy Old Prop: um I think because he's got that mix of physicality and. um And breakthrough speed, kind of um breaking the line, he'll he'll get a couple of line breaks just because he'll run it.
Grumpy Old Prop: Some some he'll find a soft shoulder here, there on exit or because they're. Not terribly athletic in the pack, so.
jarrod_dyke: Right.
Grumpy Old Prop: He'll get an edge. A couple of times and exploited.
jarrod_dyke: Okay. Yep. um
Grumpy Old Prop: And he's been scoring like a fucking monster.

jarrod_dyke: It doesn't do much usually. And, you know, if anything, the guy that's got the more explosiveness is the guy that's backing him up.

jarrod_dyke: And also, and also, I don't know if he's going to be able to find, yeah, not actually currently doing the best against hookers as well. So those two things kind of adding up against Jack Walker makes him my city of the week.

jarrod_dyke: And now now he goes out and scores double.

Um, my sit of the week this week, um, hate to say it but I think it's gonna be Marcus Smith because I don't just don't know that they're ready to score and I think the Saints might actually you know they might get up for this one in the ways for some reason they haven't gotten up in the first two weeks um although like you said they they did play pretty well throughout the except up right up until the like the very end but

jarrod_dyke: Yeah, last 10, 15 minutes.
Grumpy Old Prop: I think for Quinn's, it's going to be that much harder. So, and they've just struggled to score points in games that they should be scoring points in.
jarrod_dyke: Yeah, not good, man, not good.
Grumpy Old Prop: So I think that's going to, I think it's going to ah reflect, in you know, if you're investing that much in a fly half, find a different fly half.
jarrod_dyke: Maybe not this week.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah.
