Kendahl: All righty. I hope that you are with your listening ears today because we have an earful for you. Welcome to our show, Shut Off, Turn On. This is Kendall, and I'm hoping to stay alive and the lights on, and that is...
Julian Contreras Jr: I'm Julian. My lights are on and I'm warm.
Kendahl: So I'm going to preface this show with I am in the midst of this crazy storm that the world, or at least a large portion of our country is talking about because it's taken over like half of this country.
Kendahl: We have a huge snowstorm. we' supposed to get like 14 inches and... I don't know, eight hours. And then we're supposed to get another half inch of ice on top of that. And they've told everybody, be prepared, make sure you've got provisions because there's going to be major power outages across this area. So we are recording this in the in the yeah the eve of that storm. It's supposed to start here in about an hour or so, which should be fine. But I'm
Kendahl: I told Julian, I went full provisions. I've got a generator ready. yeah We went shopping. i got I got the essentials. I got the Mountain Dew. that's just I'm just telling you, I got the Mountain Dew.
Julian Contreras Jr: Nice. Diet Mountain Dew or regular?
Kendahl: it it's it is It's Mountain Dew Zero.
Julian Contreras Jr: Oh, perfect.
Kendahl: So, yeah. So, but okay. So, on that really quickly, I got to say. So, Matt, I mean, the thing is, living in this area, people do not prepare for this kind of stuff, right? They just don't. And...
Kendahl: Every store is crazy. Tractor Supply, who barely sees like three people a week. The store was so packed. There was nowhere to park. And it was because, see, i have provisions. I like I have a week's worth of firewood. I have about three days worth of fuel for my generator.
Kendahl: But I was looking at my wife and I said, do you want to go get one more propane tank just in case? And she's like, what do we need it for? And I said, well, worst case scenario is we just put it up on our RV.
Kendahl: So it's like it'll be an extra RV Propane tank. So it would still find its usage, right?
Julian Contreras Jr: Wow.
Kendahl: It has a utility element. But in this case, for this storm, it's like, just in case. There's no propane.
Julian Contreras Jr: gone
Kendahl: I literally, i went to I went to three different stores. I went to a 7-Eleven, for goodness sakes. And in a five-mile radius of my house, there's not a single propane tank that was available.
Kendahl: Just to give you guys an idea of like the craziness that is the people at this store. But I tell you all of this because I did go in to the food. to it's It's called Food Lion is the store here.
Kendahl: So I go into the food line and this is kind of like a Macy's out out out there. Right. and It's it's kind of like your local grocer. They got a lot of everything you need. They're a little more expensive than places like Walmart. But it's still like that's where you go when you want to go get something good and you just want to get it quick.
Kendahl: And it was crazy. It was packed. But the funny thing is, people were buying all the essentials because this guy walked out with a full cart.
Kendahl: Do you want to know what he had?
Julian Contreras Jr: Natty light.
Kendahl: He had three cases of Michelob Light.
Julian Contreras Jr: Michelob. Okay. That's perfect.
Kendahl: that was it that's all he had just had three cases and i was like wow you are really like on the provision level but then but then in the defense in the defense i walk out with three cases of mountain dew a thing of a thing of brownies and uh and reese's peanut butter cups so i mean i'm not i don't want to say i'm much better
Julian Contreras Jr: I'll keep you warm.
Kendahl: who
Julian Contreras Jr: Yeah, maybe he was already and that was just the last thing he needed. who was like, oh yeah, i forgot about that.
Kendahl: Right.
Julian Contreras Jr: So i better go get it.
Kendahl: Right. Right. The essentials. When the lights go out, you need something to warm you up, right?
Julian Contreras Jr: Yeah.
Julian Contreras Jr: Yep, exactly.
Kendahl: Anyway. Anyway, sorry. Sidetrack on this. This storm is going to be interesting, people. i'm I am very curious to see how this is going to We have already, as a school district, as a teacher...
Kendahl: They've already told us Monday, don't even think about it. Just don't even think about coming in on Monday because it's going to be canceled regardless. The federal government, because that where I live, everybody is a federal government employee. just It's all over the place.
Kendahl: And everybody is basically like, oh, yeah, we get Monday off too. It's like, oh, all right, because they've already told them they're having Monday off. And my wife, for what she does, she actually – works in a, we'll say pseudo government type job.
Kendahl: And she actually has to go in towards DC and work there for a little while. So she's gone for the whole weekend. I don't get to see her during the middle of the storm.
Kendahl: And so I get to kind of tough it out solo. Well, with my kids, but solo.
Julian Contreras Jr: Okay.
Julian Contreras Jr: All right. Well, that's awesome.
Kendahl: So, all right So let's get back to the reason they actually come to listen to us, not Kendall talking about the weather because
Julian Contreras Jr: it That was a five fun five minutes, I will say.
Kendahl: Right?
Julian Contreras Jr: Yeah.
Kendahl: there's a lot of There was a roller coaster element in there. So anyhow. Let's get to the fun part. So, Julian, it's been a little bit. we We had planned on coming back and then you had some exciting stuff going on, which we're going to talk about.
Kendahl: And then i i kind of got busy with some birthday stuff in my house. And so we're like, I will push it. And then things kind of got even a little more crazy.
Kendahl: And you had a little birthday stuff going on, too. And it's like, you know what?
Julian Contreras Jr: Yep.
Kendahl: We're going to make this happen when it's more aligned and it just happened to be that today's the day.
Julian Contreras Jr: Yep. Today's the day.
Kendahl: So I want to thank everybody for being here. i know that we are not always as regular as we would like to be sometimes, but to be honest with you, I think you guys come for the life of Julian and Kendall and the craziness. And sometimes you enjoy the old man weather talk.
Kendahl: But no. So, I mean,
Julian Contreras Jr: it's weather and being regular. We are of that age, I guess.
Julian Contreras Jr: Yeah.
Kendahl: but no so i mean I know I i have a ton of content to talk about because it it has been a little bit. I know you have a lot of fun stuff to talk about, some adventures that you took.
Kendahl: And then we want to talk about a little bit of some maybe we're going to have a little bit of rant on Netflix.
Julian Contreras Jr: Mm-hmm.
Kendahl: we We are definitely going to have a little bit of rant on Netflix.
Julian Contreras Jr: Oh, geez. OK. I'm not aware of this. But I'm i'm all for it.
Kendahl: OK, so but that's OK. That's what they're here for, right? So, all right, let's start.
Julian Contreras Jr: Right. The spontaneity.
Kendahl: Let's start off with I spent the last seven minutes talking. They're tired of hearing me. So I'm going to let you talk and I want you to talk about your adventure that you had going and seeing some really cool stuff and talking to some or listening to some cool people.
Julian Contreras Jr: Yes. Thank you so much. As you can see from the posts that I did do, see, I do have an Instagram. We do. It's there. There are some pictures that you guys can follow along with this story if you so choose to.
Julian Contreras Jr: Went down to Vegas with a couple friends. We did go to Days of the Dead Las Vegas, which is basically an all scary movie convention. And I'm going to say the word horror just in case I go too fast and it sounds like the other word, but you know what I'm talking about.
Kendahl: Oh, I know what you're talking about.
Julian Contreras Jr: Yeah. I was super excited to go down there because of the main reason was the terror fighter cast. absolutely wanted to go down there and meet art the clown and it happened that uh there was a whole room just of the terrifier so the main convention center was one door and then just the terrifier section was the other door so i immediately got into that line and that's the very first thing i did i saved up money i had no idea on what it was going to cost to get their autographs on the funko's that you guys saw
Kendahl: Mm hmm.
Julian Contreras Jr: But I was pleasantly surprised. It was cheaper than I had planned for. So that's a big win already.
Kendahl: That works. It's good. It's a positive.
Julian Contreras Jr: And they were all so, so nice, Kendall. David Howard Thornton, Samantha Scafidi, and Amelia McClain.
Kendahl: I did see his picture. I saw that that you took a picture with him. That was pretty cool.
Julian Contreras Jr: The full costume.
Kendahl: Yeah.
Julian Contreras Jr: Yeah, so it's actually, I cropped my friends out of it. I didn't know if they wanted to be part of the show or whatever, but I did crop them out. But I do have the 8x10 right here. It's got all three of us and Art the Clown. It was a great time. As you can tell from my face, I am very joyful.
Kendahl: little delighted A bit but little bit delighted.
Julian Contreras Jr: little bit delighted.
Kendahl: yeah
Julian Contreras Jr: But as we were waiting in line, he had about three tables lined up. I'm talking about Art the Clown David Howe Thornton.
Kendahl: yeah, yeah.
Julian Contreras Jr: And there were so many 8x10s you could choose from. And I was like, oh my gosh, there's so much. But I had my own little Funko Pop that I wanted him to sign. Waited in line. The nicest gentleman that I think I've talked to in a long time of this caliber, I would say.
Kendahl: I would imagine that I mean, I'm not I don't know. I don't know these people, but it seems like in past, like listening of interviews, the people that play the most terrifying of people are typically the ones that are like the best. Like they're just down to earth, good, genuine people.
Julian Contreras Jr: Yeah. So I will say that, like, side note real fast, when you watch Derry and there's Bill Skarsgård in the Pennywise outfit and he looks terrifying.
Kendahl: Yeah, yeah.
Julian Contreras Jr: He does a scene with the kids and as soon as they yell cut, he's like, oh, you okay? You okay?
Kendahl: Yeah.
Julian Contreras Jr: Was that too much? Was that super cool?
Kendahl: Yeah.
Julian Contreras Jr: But kind of the same thing with this.
Kendahl: That was like that was exactly what I was thinking was was I is is when he was when Skarsgård was doing an interview, they asked him that.
Julian Contreras Jr: Yeah.
Kendahl: And then I've actually watched I watched one with with Thornton, too. And that was something that they they had asked to him, too, is that do you think you feet are people afraid of you on set? And he said, well, that's kind of something he tries to like in the moment, maybe. But he tries to remove that once the scene is over.
Julian Contreras Jr: Yeah. So he wasn't able to say a lot about the fourth upcoming movie because I did ask. I was like, so do you have any insight for the fourth? He's like, no. Find out in October with the rest of us.
Julian Contreras Jr: And I was like, all right, cool.
Kendahl: Mm-hmm.
Julian Contreras Jr: Sounds good. He was very focused on his signing. As you can tell, he wrote quite a bit on that one little window screen. So I didn't bother him too much. It was just a pleasure meeting him and enjoy his work.
Julian Contreras Jr: And they say not to meet your heroes, but yeah here you are. So it was really cool. And then he was so nice that he, I just asked, Hey, could I take your picture holding the Funko pop?
Julian Contreras Jr: And he's like, yeah, of course, no problem. And then you can see from the photo that all three of them did agree to do that, which was super nice without any extra costs.
Kendahl: Mm hmm. Mm
Julian Contreras Jr: And they're like, well, do you want your name on it? And I was like, yeah, please put my, I'm not going to sell these. Like these are mine. These are for me.
Kendahl: hmm.
Julian Contreras Jr: So it was super cool. I enjoyed meeting all three of them. And then once I was done in that group, I went right into the main convention center, which was really, really big.
Julian Contreras Jr: And right inside the door to the right was another person that I really wanted to meet. The director, Eli Roth, was right there.
Kendahl: That's cool.
Julian Contreras Jr: So I immediately jumped in his line and my friends were like, well, we're going to walk around.
Kendahl: That's cool.
Julian Contreras Jr: And I was like, no, totally fine. I'll do my thing. you guys do your thing.
Kendahl: You do you.
Julian Contreras Jr: We have our... Yeah.
Kendahl: Okay.
Julian Contreras Jr: So I'm waiting in the line for Eli and get to his, yeah I mean, for the listeners, do you know what kind of movies Eli directs off the top of your head?
Kendahl: Eli Roth?
Julian Contreras Jr: Yeah. Yeah.
Kendahl: i mean, he's... He's done a lot because he's done. Give me a second here because he did like.
Kendahl: Didn't he do a house with the the the clock with the wall or clock in the wall and then. Oh, he did Inglourious Bastards.
Julian Contreras Jr: He was in that, yes.
Kendahl: Yeah. Was he in that or did he direct it?
Julian Contreras Jr: I think he was just in that as an actor.
Kendahl: Okay, I can't remember. But I'm trying to think of what other ones he's directed.
Julian Contreras Jr: Okay, I'm thinking of Hostel, Knock Knock, Cabin Fever.
Kendahl: Okay.
Julian Contreras Jr: All right, you're on the same page now.
Kendahl: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Julian Contreras Jr: Okay.
Kendahl: Well, I know he did. I also know that he it was the weird one. It was the the house with the clock and the wall. like That was the weird one with Jack Black and Helen Mirren.
Julian Contreras Jr: Okay.
Kendahl: Do you remember that one?
Julian Contreras Jr: I do, but i'm more I'm more thinking the earlier ones.
Kendahl: Okay. No, no, no. I know. I'm just... For some reason, i always thought... i do remember that one that he did. But anyway, keep going.
Julian Contreras Jr: Yeah.
Kendahl: Yes, most of the stuff he's done is very...
Kendahl: Horror.
Julian Contreras Jr: Graphic? Yeah.
Kendahl: Horror.
Julian Contreras Jr: Horror, yeah.
Kendahl: Graphic. Very gore-driven.
Julian Contreras Jr: Yes. I like to think of him as one of the founding fathers of what we can... what we love, what I love, not so much you, but the gore factor in movies.
Kendahl: you I think you can say the word gore-porn.
Julian Contreras Jr: As long as the violence is fake, I'm all about it.
Kendahl: I mean, it's a negative word at the end, but there i mean it is.
Julian Contreras Jr: Yeah.
Kendahl: it's It's typically referred to as gore-porn, so...
Julian Contreras Jr: Yeah. Okay. Now you sound like my brother, but so I had him, I chose this one, the knock, knock poster.
Kendahl: Now we're done. Oh, OK. Hmm.
Kendahl: oh okay
Julian Contreras Jr: Absolutely love this movie. It's got Keanu Reeves and one of Anna D'Armas' first movies and Lorenza Izzo. So he signed this one for me and then we were just talking because it was like, could ask him pretty much anything while he was signing.
Julian Contreras Jr: So I asked him, i was like, was there ever in the works a Green Inferno 2? Because at the end of the first movie, there's a little like,
Julian Contreras Jr: clip of something to come. And he was like, you know what? Honestly, and sorry, Eli, but I'm going to tell the story right here on this itty bitty podcast.
Julian Contreras Jr: They did have a script ready to go for a movie called Beyond Green Inferno, which where they were going to go into the expanded of that clip. He said, with the time that it took and other projects with the cast and the funding just kind of went away and they just never got around to doing it. So it was super cool to ask that question and actually get a real answer.
Kendahl: You know, it's funny about Green Inferno. I've never... Like, I i recognize the the like poster art for it or the ad for it, but I don't remember what the film was about. Like, I don't remember anything about it.
Julian Contreras Jr: Do you just want me to go into it real fast? Because...
Kendahl: i mean, you could just, like, give a synopsis, like...
Julian Contreras Jr: Okay, so it's a college group of kids that are going to the Peruvian Amazon to stop deforestation. So they're going to go and chain themselves to the machinery and get that up.
Kendahl: Okay.
Kendahl: Mm hmm.
Julian Contreras Jr: And they're pretty much their only weapon is their phone. As long as they're recording and it's live streaming, the company will quote unquote stop right then.
Kendahl: Okay.
Julian Contreras Jr: So they do that. it kind of works. And then on their way back, their plane goes down in the Amazon.
Kendahl: Mm hmm.
Julian Contreras Jr: So they're captured by this tribe that hasn't seen civilization in forever and nobody's come into them. But there it gets graphic, Kendall.
Julian Contreras Jr: It gets super graphic.
Kendahl: I can only imagine.
Julian Contreras Jr: but So that's a good one.
Kendahl: i'm i'm I can be honest, i'm I'm looking it up right now on IMDB. And in the parental guide for violence and gore, it's rated as severe.
Kendahl: And it's just it's just it's just page after page of of things. Like, literally, i haven't even I haven't even gotten past the severe gore yet.
Julian Contreras Jr: yeah
Kendahl: It literally is just, oh, there it is.
Julian Contreras Jr: Yeah, that's the bottom of it.
Kendahl: I was scrolling for a minute there.
Julian Contreras Jr: So, but those are the kind of movies I, for some reason, I enjoy. You like your Hallmark Christmas movies and I like that stuff.
Kendahl: I only like my Hallmark Christmas movie is when I'm in the mood for them.
Julian Contreras Jr: But so super fun talking to him. And then at the end of the signing, I was like, okay, I'll see you tonight because I was going to another event that he was in and he was like, all right, awesome. Yeah. I'll totally see you there.
Julian Contreras Jr: So I believe that's all for that. Oh no, no, no. i forgot I'm forgetting one of the major things. So when we got the picture with Arthur clown, one of my biggest things was if he's in costume Is he going to come into the room and talk?
Julian Contreras Jr: Because Art the Clown does not talk in the movies.
Kendahl: Right, right.
Julian Contreras Jr: Sure enough, as he's coming in, you can tell he's coming into the room because there's a bunch of cheering and he gets into the room and we're all screaming and he honks his little horn and then waves at at us and then flips us off.
Kendahl: Mm-hmm.
Julian Contreras Jr: And it a good time.
Kendahl: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Julian Contreras Jr: So right then and there, I knew he was not going to break character. He was going to be Art the Clown, not talk.
Kendahl: hey okay
Julian Contreras Jr: So we had a good time going in there. We got the printout, went back to hit the elevator to go upstairs real fast. And the elevator that we got first, it filled up with a bigger group.
Julian Contreras Jr: So we're like, just, we'll just get the next one. It's fine. We're not a big hurry. Elevator opens up and the person inside the elevator holding a pizza is John Abrams.
Julian Contreras Jr: You might remember, you might have to Google his name, but he's Bobby from scary movie.
Kendahl: Yeah.
Kendahl: Mm
Julian Contreras Jr: He's in Terrifier 3. He gets his lid taken off, let's say.
Kendahl: hmm.
Julian Contreras Jr: So as soon as the elevator opens and he sees the three of us, I can kind of see him do like the head thing. Like, oh my gosh, here we go.
Kendahl: hmm.
Julian Contreras Jr: But i don't I don't want to be that guy like that asks for an autograph.
Kendahl: Right.
Julian Contreras Jr: there are a There is a time and a place to get an autograph.
Kendahl: Yeah.
Julian Contreras Jr: It's not like I saw some guys like where the guys were headed to the bathroom and they're like, oh, hey, hey, could you sign this? Or they're getting a drink with their kid at the concession stand and they're like, oh, hey, can you can you sign this real fast?
Kendahl: Right.
Julian Contreras Jr: That is not the time.
Kendahl: Right.
Julian Contreras Jr: I mean, the way you want to do it. Great. You got the signature, but that's not how I do it. There's a time and a place. I want to be the the cool guy that like was nice.
Julian Contreras Jr: So as soon as the elevator opens and I see him kind of do that head thing.
Kendahl: Right.
Julian Contreras Jr: I look at him and I like, oh what's up, John? Because I just talked to him like 10 minutes earlier.
Kendahl: Mm-hmm.
Julian Contreras Jr: And he right then his attitude kind of changes and he's giggling and joking with us. And he's like, what you guys got? And I was holding the And I was like, oh, i got we got your photo with your boy. He kind of did you dirty, though. And he's like, oh, that freaking guy.
Julian Contreras Jr: And i was like, oh, i wish I wish I had seen you before. He could have been our fourth in the photo. Could you imagine that, Kendall, if I had gotten John Abrams to be in our photo with him? a It was so much fun.
Julian Contreras Jr: And to add all the more excitement to it, I had just watched Scary Movie again with my buddy at a party not too long ago before we went.
Kendahl: such a good movie.
Julian Contreras Jr: It is great. And I had never seen it inebriated. And it Ever. In 25 years, I never have. But it was a lot of fun watching that movie and then just saying, like, this is the guy that we were laughing at and now we're quoting and now we're hanging out the elevator for a quick second.
Kendahl: Yeah.
Julian Contreras Jr: But it was a lot of fun.
Kendahl: That's cool.
Julian Contreras Jr: And I know this this story isn't fun for everybody, but I had a lot of fun. I hope you can tell from the excitement.
Kendahl: Yeah.
Julian Contreras Jr: But... we're in the We go back up to the room real quick because we got a few hours before the next event. And it is blazing hot in our hotel room.
Julian Contreras Jr: And we had messed with it and left it on like 65 to get it cool, you know, like you do as soon as you get to a hotel room.
Kendahl: hmm. Mm
Julian Contreras Jr: And it had been pushing 80 in there.
Kendahl: hmm.
Julian Contreras Jr: So I called down to... bill servicing whoever answered the phone guy finally shows up he's like i'll put in a ticket guy i'll be there he opens the door he looks at the unit he's like yeah i think i'm just gonna need a new one he calls down and i was like oh he's gonna move us rooms like don't unpack let's just no what he's doing is he's gonna replace the entire ac unit kendall yeah that's what he means by i'm gonna need a new one
Kendahl: Mm-hmm.
Julian Contreras Jr: The guy gets down and he unbolts the entire thing from the wall and takes it right out of the wall. This big four foot by two foot AC unit.
Julian Contreras Jr: Takes it out of the wall. A guy brings in another one in like 10 minutes. Fixes it all up. And sure enough, it works. So it was cool. I didn't know that you had to replace the entire unit in hotels like that.
Kendahl: That's crazy.
Julian Contreras Jr: But that leads us to... What we did that night, Casey and I, we went to the very first showing of Cabin Fever unrated in 4K in a theater.
Kendahl: That's cool.
Julian Contreras Jr: They're planning on doing a re-release and this was the first time they did it.
Kendahl: That's cool.
Julian Contreras Jr: It was a Q&A.
Kendahl: So you got to see the whole movie.
Julian Contreras Jr: Yeah, we watched the entire movie and I think the cast stayed there because when we got up to leave, Ryder Strong was still there.
Kendahl: Hmm.
Kendahl: Mm hmm. Mm
Julian Contreras Jr: And so was Cecilia. So I don't know if they stayed and watched the movie somewhere or there was a box, but my friend and I, we sat second row and there was an entire Q and a session before the movie started.
Kendahl: hmm.
Julian Contreras Jr: And by Q and a I, there were questions. Don't get me wrong, but there was only like seven minutes. I really love the fact that they sat down and told stories of making this movie. Some of the experiences they had,
Julian Contreras Jr: going into it, telling funny stories. They talked about how they got the parts, like Mr. Ryder Strong, you know, from Boy Meets World.
Kendahl: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Julian Contreras Jr: Some of the stories where he was covered in a substance and he couldn't get out of the substance while they took a break. So he just went for a walk real quick.
Julian Contreras Jr: And where they were filming, there was a bus full of kids that were on a field trip that saw him. And they were like, oh my gosh, we need to help him. We need to help him. So he ran back to set and he's like, you guys got to hide me.
Julian Contreras Jr: These guys recognize me and they're trying to help me out.
Kendahl: That's funny.
Julian Contreras Jr: Just funny stories like that. There was some about the dog that they use in the movie. It was just so cool, Kendall.
Kendahl: That's cool.
Julian Contreras Jr: Being that close to the entire cast.
Kendahl: No, I mean, Cabin Fever is a movie that I did enjoy. Like, it's on the lower side of the gore element that Eli Roth does. But that was that was actually, ironically, one of the very first, like, horror films that I watched with my wife.
Kendahl: Because she... We had just gotten married, like, a year before, I think. And she... It's in that stage of... you know, I'll go I'll go see a movie with you because i want to try to, you know, I want to try to, you know, get to know the things that you like better type thing, right?
Julian Contreras Jr: Oh, okay. I thought you were going a different route with that story.
Kendahl: No, no, no, no.
Julian Contreras Jr: I was like, what?
Kendahl: So but because I mean, it we were still pretty new, even in our like, just getting to know each other stage.
Julian Contreras Jr: Of
Kendahl: I think we had known each other at this point for almost three years. But, you know, still one of those moments where she's like, well, I know you like horror movies. And I said, I really want to go see this one. So we went and saw it.
Kendahl: And of course, she hated it. but She hated it.
Julian Contreras Jr: course.
Kendahl: but i But this is one of those I actually like. I mean, I did like this one because that that was just one of those... and well, actually, here's the funny thing. This movie actually kind of shifted my wife into zombies.
Julian Contreras Jr: Okay, yeah.
Kendahl: So, yeah.
Julian Contreras Jr: It's got a little bit that aspect to it.
Kendahl: So... Yeah, yeah. I mean, not quite entirely, but i mean, she's like she's like, I didn't like it, but I kind of liked the like the zombie thing about it. And so then I got her into watching some of the zombie films, and then that's built into a huge... She loves zombies now, so...
Julian Contreras Jr: Perfect. That's awesome. So that was my time down there. As you can tell from the photos, I mean, I wish I could be in more of them, but it's kind of hard to take them and be in them without like at arm's length.
Julian Contreras Jr: Doesn't give you guys the effect, but it was a lot of fun. I'm probably going to do it again. We'll see who they signed for the next one, but it, it was amazing. Kendall, if you live closer, i wish you could go with me.
Kendahl: That's cool. Oh, I probably I can be honest, if I was closer, I would have gone.
Julian Contreras Jr: I mean, it does move around the country. It is going to Atlanta and somewhere else. So,
Kendahl: So if it's out here, maybe you're coming to me. Yep.
Julian Contreras Jr: yeah, I mean, could be. I got room and lodging, right? it Could do it that way, which is depending on who they sign.
Kendahl: yep
Julian Contreras Jr: all right, let's move on to one of your other topics. That was a lot of talking for me. It wasn't about the weather,
Kendahl: That's okay. So let's do, let's do, okay. So i I want to talk about, let's talk about the shows that I watched. So we're going to we're going to do this one. and It'll transition into our Netflix thing.
Kendahl: So i I was bored the other night.
Julian Contreras Jr: OK.
Kendahl: My wife wasn't feeling very well. And I was like, let's look through Netflix for a movie we've never seen. And so we're just kind of flipping through random movies. And I see Mark Wahlberg. Oh, cool.
Kendahl: Halle Berry. Oh, cool. And I was like, yeah.
Julian Contreras Jr: Oh, I think i know where you're going.
Kendahl: So i'm I'm sitting here and I'm like, I watched this preview and I think, oh, this looks pretty good. Well, I'm going to tell you right now, the movie was called The Union.
Kendahl: And I'm going to tell you, please don't watch this movie. This movie.
Julian Contreras Jr: yeah
Kendahl: OK, I mean, in all honesty, I was expecting it to be something good because I mean, OK, just just relative like the starting cast, Mark Wahlberg, Halle Berry, J.K.
Kendahl: Simmons. And I mean, OK, so Mike Coulter, I guarantee you, you don't maybe not know the name, but I know, you know, the person who There's just all these people that the minute you see their face, that you will.
Kendahl: You know them, but the movie's terrible. The movie is terrible. And so it it just it starts off immediately going nowhere and then it continues to go nowhere. And then all of a sudden you're sitting there and 45 minutes into the film and it's garbage.
Julian Contreras Jr: That sounds like an awesome time. I remember you did warn me about this movie. So I have not delved into what it's about because I've been watching other things that I do want to talk about.
Kendahl: yeah
Julian Contreras Jr: But yeah, I remember you saying, like, it's hard to go wrong with Halle Berry and Mark Wahlberg, but somehow they did it.
Kendahl: Right. Well, and then and then you got J.K. Simmons, who's also like a major lead in this. And... it's just It's just pure garbage. At one point at one point in this film, he they they get into trouble and they go, oh, don't worry.
Kendahl: We can get ourselves out. And I'm not even joking you. They're in the middle of London and they're pulling AK-47s out of light posts and and like mailboxes. And I was like, no, now no, no.
Kendahl: that's That's not how this works. Ha ha ha.
Julian Contreras Jr: I mean, maybe they have prepped for it in the past. Who knows?
Kendahl: Right?
Julian Contreras Jr: I don't know. I didn't even know what this movie is about, but.
Kendahl: It's all good. Yeah, I mean, just just don't see it. It got a 30% on Rotten Tomatoes, and I'm going to tell you right now, that's a little bit probably generous.
Kendahl: It's so...
Julian Contreras Jr: Okay. Sounds good. So before we jump into the Netflix rant here, is there anything I should prep for?
Kendahl: so
Julian Contreras Jr: de Do you want to go first?
Kendahl: okay so i I want to talk about this whole thing with like kind of the Stranger Things and like the the stupid element of teasing all over the place and then going through it. But before I get into that, i my problem with Netflix right now is I feel like all they are doing is just filling in the gap because they think they can.
Kendahl: That's all mean, that's really what it is.
Julian Contreras Jr: Okay.
Kendahl: it's It's because I think Netflix thinks they're so far up there that they can do whatever they want.
Kendahl: All right. Sorry, I thought you glitched for half a second. So my whole thing is, is I feel like Netflix is at a point in their power, we'll call it, that the whole thing with Stranger Things, they were like, let's tease, let's tease, let's tease. And it's like,
Kendahl: For what? You and I were talking about this is garbage. It's not going to happen. There's nothing that's going to go on here. And then they throw up, they they they put these movies out there like The Union, right? Big stars. I swear it was like one of those, oh, okay, we have to fulfill a contract. Let's throw it out there. But then let's talk about the big movie they made, Electric State.
Kendahl: Again, Millie Bobby Brown, Chris Pratt. they have all the They have this huge, massive budget, and it was just a terrible movie.
Julian Contreras Jr: Okay, I mean, I wouldn't say terrible on that one. I did enjoy that one. It was fun.
Kendahl: yeah i just i don't but it's okay so i just Yeah, I just don't think...
Julian Contreras Jr: i get you mean though, yeah.
Kendahl: i mean it was not It was not to the magnitude that they made it seem like it was going to be this like great movie.
Julian Contreras Jr: Okay.
Kendahl: And so i my thing with Netflix right now is I just I feel like you spend more time searching through Netflix to try to find what you're looking for. That tends to just be not what I'm looking for.
Julian Contreras Jr: Okay. So on the flip side of that coin, I do get you and I do understand that, but sometimes I'm flipping to through Netflix and I'm finding too much that I want to watch all at the same time. I'm like, Oh, I want to see that again.
Julian Contreras Jr: Add it to the watch list. I want to see that. and so So I spent 20 minutes looking and adding movies to a queue and I have no time to watch the movie now.
Kendahl: Okay, so i we're going to be therapy here. This is our therapy. I agree with you.
Julian Contreras Jr: This is,
Kendahl: I agree with you. But you said it perfectly. It is, oh, I want to watch that again. Not, oh, I want to see that because it was just released. It was newer. No.
Kendahl: like Netflix is one of those you go to find the old stuff that you want to rewatch.
Julian Contreras Jr: okay
Julian Contreras Jr: okay no all right hold on wait a minute rewind what about this new ben affleck matt damon movie that i've looked at yeah it's called the rip yeah yeah r.i.p is a different movie we're not gonna talk about that one
Kendahl: Okay, RIP.
Kendahl: Yeah. Well, isn't it? No, no, no. But isn't it? Isn't it? Isn't is it? Is that R.I.P? Isn't it RIP?
Julian Contreras Jr: No, just called The Rip.
Kendahl: Oh, i don't know why I thought it was that way.
Julian Contreras Jr: No, just The Rip.
Kendahl: Okay, anyway, keep going. I'm so sorry. I'm interrupting you now.
Julian Contreras Jr: No, that's fine. That's what we do here. There's no tact. Did you watch it yet?
Kendahl: No, I haven't had a chance yet.
Julian Contreras Jr: Okay. All right. Ken, after this one, yeah I think you need to sit down and you need to watch it.
Kendahl: Okay.
Julian Contreras Jr: Like, I mean, you're you might be in a negative headspace with Netflix right now. You're on the mend.
Kendahl: No, I'm not, I'm not in in a negative space. I just, anyway, you keep going. I'll tell you my side. I'll tell you why.
Julian Contreras Jr: I absolutely loved this movie, Kendall. it there was and There was language. Yes. There was violence.
Kendahl: yeah
Julian Contreras Jr: Yes. There was zero nudity. There was zero sex. And it was still a great movie. You didn't have to pack all that in there. like I felt like if there was a random sex scene in this movie, like it would have been weird.
Kendahl: a
Julian Contreras Jr: So with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck back together, doing what they do, acting like they're friends, being buddies, this movie I give an 8 out of 10.
Kendahl: Wow.
Julian Contreras Jr: It was a lot of fun.
Kendahl: Okay.
Julian Contreras Jr: Like this could have been in a theater and we would have just fine paying, I feel. But these are the swings that Netflix, I feel, has to take.
Kendahl: Okay.
Julian Contreras Jr: Like you you have to pretty much swing at everything nowadays because there's so many competitors out there. If we pass on it and this one is the winner, what if Paramount takes it?
Kendahl: Okay.
Julian Contreras Jr: What if Peacock takes it?
Kendahl: Yeah. Yeah.
Julian Contreras Jr: What if this makes it to HBO and now this is an HBO only movie? Like we missed out. So I feel like you have to swing it too much to try to get a hit.
Kendahl: See, well, and I think what's happening with Netflix on that end is they saw, they saw what happened with, whatchamacallit, uh,
Kendahl: K-pop Demon Hunters. OK, so the reason that K-pop Demon Hunters was so successful for them is because other networks turned them off. Right. And then they took it and were successful with it. And I think on the flip side, they're kind of like what you're saying there.
Kendahl: I don't want to let this go somewhere else. I'll take it and see where I can run with it. Right. And maybe build off of it.
Julian Contreras Jr: right
Kendahl: So I haven't seen Rip yet, but I mean, is it is it something that they might be able to build on or no?
Julian Contreras Jr: no like i don't really see there being a sequel without giving too much away but i mean you could you definitely could
Kendahl: Maybe not even a sequel, but maybe like a universe built in. Like other films that could come like off of it.
Julian Contreras Jr: Okay. So it it is a cop movie. So like if you were to go that route, yeah, you could build something off of it.
Kendahl: Okay.
Julian Contreras Jr: Sure.
Kendahl: Mm-hmm.
Julian Contreras Jr: There's always tangents on different things. But once you got the show, like let's say, let's take your example of Stranger Things.
Kendahl: Mm-hmm.
Julian Contreras Jr: I have that. It's in my garage. I have all the pieces that go with it that I am paying to be there for this piece. I don't know whether I've put in like, hey, we needed to do these movies like Millie.
Julian Contreras Jr: Could you do this movie, Electric State for us? And we'll put it on Netflix because of Stranger Things.
Kendahl: Right. Well, that's what they did with Enola Holmes.
Julian Contreras Jr: Yeah.
Julian Contreras Jr: Right. Yeah, there was those. That one has two movies as well.
Kendahl: There's a third one coming out.
Julian Contreras Jr: Okay, see? We're just rolling.
Kendahl: Yeah, yeah.
Julian Contreras Jr: And it was good. I liked it. I didn't see the second one yet, but that's not because I hated It's just because there's...
Kendahl: Yeah, I just yeah, it's kind of the same thing. I watched the first one. I haven't seen the second one just speak because not not because of anything.
Julian Contreras Jr: Yeah.
Kendahl: Just haven't done it.
Julian Contreras Jr: So to finish up the rant, hopefully, unless you want to keep going, I feel like me just being in Vegas, going to use these terms.
Kendahl: Yeah, no, no, no.
Julian Contreras Jr: It's an entertainment lottery and all these companies are playing those slots. You put your money in, you pull and you see what happens. Sometimes you win and sometimes you just don't.
Julian Contreras Jr: And that's apparently what happened with the union.
Kendahl: So, okay. So I have a question for you then. Well, I mean, we're kind of going a little off tangent here, but in that same sentiment, what streaming service do you think has just nailed it out of the park when it comes to getting the content that people want and and just and just, you know, running with it?
Julian Contreras Jr: out of all the ones I subscribed to, it's going to have to be Netflix because of the live sports.
Kendahl: Okay.
Julian Contreras Jr: I mean, just yesterday they had that guy that was going to climb the skyscraper freestyle, but it was raining too hard.
Kendahl: Okay.
Kendahl: Yeah. Yeah.
Julian Contreras Jr: So it's postponed till tonight.
Kendahl: Who knows?
Julian Contreras Jr: I mean, that's the risk they run. Like with live sports, with boxing, sure. that mean, it's kind of hard to stop the fight when everyone's bought a ticket there, but outside live sports is kind of hard.
Kendahl: Yeah.
Kendahl: Yeah. Yeah.
Julian Contreras Jr: So, I mean, HBO Max is great.
Kendahl: I see it. All right.
Julian Contreras Jr: They have a lot of good shows on there.
Kendahl: Yeah.
Julian Contreras Jr: The Pit, Welcome to Dairy. I could go on, but I'm not.
Kendahl: Yeah. Well, and I think they have more. Personally, I think HBO Max has more new content that is more relative to what people are trying to like indulge in over Netflix.
Julian Contreras Jr: Mm-hmm.
Kendahl: I mean, a lot of them, there's a lot of movies that are that are exiting the theater and going straight to HBO. Yeah.
Julian Contreras Jr: Yeah. The same thing with Paramount too, though. As soon as you see in the theater the Paramount logo, you can almost guarantee within three to four weeks, you're going to find that on there or at least a coming soon to our service.
Kendahl: True. Well, okay, so go ahead.
Julian Contreras Jr: you Could you imagine if one service had every great show from every platform? Could you imagine that? That would be a monopoly.
Kendahl: Well, i'd be I mean, I don't want say to say it'd be terrible because then it would you'd get lost in the mix. You know what I mean?
Julian Contreras Jr: Yeah.
Kendahl: But I think, okay, so if you're okay, I think it's a good segue to the movie I went and saw yesterday.
Julian Contreras Jr: Yeah, let's do that.
Kendahl: Okay, so I went and saw a movie yesterday, and it is a movie that it is it is blaringly obvious, right up on the screen, big and bold, Amazon MGM Studios. it was There was no question about it. that they They made it known that this was going to be an Amazon film.
Julian Contreras Jr: Yeah, i wonder where I'm going to find that one in four weeks.
Kendahl: Exactly. And that's kind of why I said it's a good segue, because you know that the minute this hits the the release point, they're no longer going to leave you in the theaters. It's going to go straight to Amazon. you You know it will be. So the movie I'm talking about is called Mercy.
Kendahl: Now, here's the thing. And I'm going to start this off with the this the negative side to this film. It's the director. The director of this film is the same one that did the disgusting War of the Worlds remake that came out just a few months ago that everybody was making fun of.
Julian Contreras Jr: The one that's in a tie for the most Razzie?
Kendahl: Yes.
Julian Contreras Jr: Yes.
Kendahl: Yes. And so I i will admit i knew nothing about this movie going into it because my wife was going to be working this weekend. We decided we wanted to go see a movie, go get a good dinner and just relax for the night and have like just a good Friday before she had to leave today. Right. Because of everything that going on So we just wanted to have a good night out.
Kendahl: And so we were flipping through movies and we saw Mercy and I was like, oh, oh, I remember seeing something on this, but I don't remember it. So we watched the preview and we're like, hey, looks like an action film. Odd premise. Sure, why not?
Kendahl: I will tell you, I started all that with, I started all that to say, go see this movie. i i I was pleasantly and thoroughly surprised. Like, I just, I did not expect to enjoy this movie as much as I did.
Kendahl: I really did not.
Julian Contreras Jr: yeah the trailer looks really good and i i am sorry that i didn't get to see it i wanted to and it's just been working there's there's no excuse i'll go tonight okay you put you twisted my arm
Kendahl: This
Kendahl: Okay. All right. Well, the thing is, this is a movie that honestly, I, it doesn't have a lot of heavy hitters. It has Chris Pratt, who's the main center of attention to it. And then you have another character. I think some of you will recognize his name is Chris Sullivan. He played in this is us as one of the main characters. He still does. He does a podcast called that is us, which is kind of a rehash of the show. They talk about it.
Kendahl: he They both play in this. i really i This is one of those movies I can't say much because I i will give a lot of away. The premise of the movie is that Mercy is a new system of judicial courts.
Kendahl: So the Mercy court has now been developed in the year 2029.
Julian Contreras Jr: Thank
Kendahl: Basically, violence has ran rapid in California. And they need a way to control it. So they've designed this artificial intelligent judge and jury and are and you know essentially executioner all built into an AI system. And when you are found... possibly guilty of a crime, you're brought into the mercy court and you have to either one, defend yourself or meet a threshold to, basically not be executed.
Kendahl: And, in, in the sense, since this has been developed crimes dropped 62%. Well, the first thing you see is, is detective, uh, now I can't think of his name. Uh, it's the character Chris Pratt plays,
Kendahl: who is one, he's one of the very first Mercy like officers involved because he was the one that kind of steered you know spearheaded the whole idea of what Mercy was.
Kendahl: And you don't know anything about what's going on.
Julian Contreras Jr: Okay.
Kendahl: And all of a sudden it comes up. They say, hey, you're here to be tried for the for murder. and He's like, murder of who? And they're like, your wife. And you can see it in his face. He's like, what do you mean?
Kendahl: What do you mean? and legitimately the first several minutes of this film, you're like, oh, he definitely did this because that's that's the that's the thing. And he has a 97% accuracy of being guilty. And you're like, oh, yeah, totally can see that.
Kendahl: I will tell you the best thing of this movie. There is a stop clock in the corner of this film the whole time because they tell him he has 90 minutes to defend himself. And I am telling you that stop clock is exactly what you need to be in like...
Julian Contreras Jr: Hmm.
Kendahl: focused in this film and you you forget how much time is passing. But at the same time, you are focused on that clock because everything hangs on that time frame. And I will literally tell you without giving anything away, it is down to the minute, like minutes.
Kendahl: And you're like, What's going to happen next? Because you know Chris Pratt isn't going to fry in this this chair. You're like, come on, let's go. get it Figure this out already.
Julian Contreras Jr: Awesome.
Kendahl: and it's But it is. it's It's one of those movies that literally just hangs you the whole time and it's good. It's just good.
Julian Contreras Jr: awesome
Kendahl: So, yeah, I mean, the one thing to know, though, is there's some there there is some special effects in there that are pretty cheesy. I'll admit it. It's you can tell it's pretty cheesy, but it still works. I mean, it it still works and it's decent. It's decent enough. It did 12 million this weekend or or it's opening day.
Kendahl: So. I mean, it's it's I mean, it's already hanging on for a pretty good start for the weekend.
Julian Contreras Jr: Yeah.
Kendahl: But yeah, I mean, honestly, yeah, go see it.
Julian Contreras Jr: The trailer is pretty amazing. so Okay.
Kendahl: I mean, honestly, I really recommend it. Go see it. Go see it. I'm curious to see what your thoughts are when when you go and and check it out.
Julian Contreras Jr: Yeah. I'll text you right after, but that brings me right into the very last thing we want to talk about. And we did this last year and I was wrong. Kendall was more right than I was. Let's go right into the NFL. It's playoff time. It's AFC championship, NFC championship.
Julian Contreras Jr: You know, I'm a sports guy.
Kendahl: Yep.
Julian Contreras Jr: I want to know. Do you have New England at Denver? Or who you got winning that?
Kendahl: I don't know on that.
Julian Contreras Jr: Silence.
Kendahl: i'm I'm telling you, I don't know because
Julian Contreras Jr: It's okay to be wrong. You can just choose one.
Julian Contreras Jr: I was wrong last year.
Kendahl: don't know. i think the hardest part is is, this is one of those years I have seen and watched nothing. Just nothing.
Julian Contreras Jr: That's okay.
Kendahl: Yeah.
Julian Contreras Jr: All right. Sounds good.
Kendahl: So, okay. So we've got, because is it aren't the Rams in this one this year? Aren't they?
Julian Contreras Jr: Yeah, that's the next game.
Kendahl: are Okay. So you've got, I mean, okay. The thing is the Patriots, they always, right? It's the Patriots.
Julian Contreras Jr: They find a way.
Kendahl: Right. Exactly. That's saying. They always find a way. i I don't know. I think because you have the the Patriots and the Broncos. Is that what it is?
Julian Contreras Jr: Yeah.
Kendahl: Okay.
Kendahl: I'm going to go for the Broncos.
Julian Contreras Jr: Okay. Sounds good. I'm on New England.
Kendahl: I'm going to go for the Broncos. What's that?
Julian Contreras Jr: I got New England. Okay.
Kendahl: All right right. And then I am going for the Rams. Because the Seahawks, I get it.
Julian Contreras Jr: Okay.
Kendahl: But I'm going for the Rams.
Julian Contreras Jr: Okay. So we're the exact opposite again. That's hilarious.
Kendahl: that's cool well i The thing is, I i legitimately expected the Bears to win. Because I didn't know that much.
Julian Contreras Jr: okay
Kendahl: i'm I'm at this point in my understanding of of the of this year. I did expect the Bears to win. But they didn't.
Julian Contreras Jr: No, they did not.
Kendahl: So.
Julian Contreras Jr: Okay.
Kendahl: The Bears.
Julian Contreras Jr: So you heard it here. those theers The Bears, the Bears, the Bears. You heard it here first. Kendall has Denver winning and the Rams winning. I have the exact opposite. I have the Patriots winning and the Seahawks to take it.
Julian Contreras Jr: So, I mean, we've seen that Super Bowl before. Patriots versus Seahawks. We'll just happen to see it again, I guess.
Kendahl: Mm-hmm. Maybe.
Julian Contreras Jr: But we'll find out. Those games are tomorrow.
Kendahl: Mm-hmm.
Julian Contreras Jr: I hope you stuck with us for those 50 minutes. Hopefully you heard the excitement. you Thank you for the likes on the Instagram. If you haven't gone there yet, it's shutoff turn on. You can find us very easily.
Julian Contreras Jr: Our little ticket holder logo is in the corner. There's two posts in the last few days, which is probably a lot more than the last few months. But, hey, getting better at this.
Kendahl: Yeah. But yeah, I mean, honestly, I i also just have like I'm going jump kind of into this to finish it off. But like I'm excited for some stuff that's coming out.
Julian Contreras Jr: Yep.
Kendahl: I actually have a I have something that I'm going be doing at the end of next month that I'm really excited about. It is. well All right. So here's here's the question. Do we want to present it here? or Do we want to do it on the next show? Because I have a really interesting story.
Julian Contreras Jr: Let's do it on the next one.
Kendahl: all right, we'll do that. And that's OK. You know what? That's good. Anticipation to the next show. I like it because I have something I'm doing at the end of next month.
Julian Contreras Jr: That's right.
Kendahl: And the reason why it's really cool is because of the story. and I think you guys will like it. So I really want to do it the next time. But that's something that I will bring to the show when I do do it. But it's at the very end of February. But then, like, just some of the stuff that's coming up.
Kendahl: I mean, we've got Invincible coming out shortly, right? that's I mean, that's in another, a little over a month. There's a couple of good movies that are about to come out that I'm excited for. And so, because normally, I think I said this last time, normally by now I'm shutting my movie subscription off, but we've decided to keep it because there's still some decent movies that are kind of coming in between in this lull that's normally not such a great movie time frame.
Julian Contreras Jr: You got to keep it going.
Julian Contreras Jr: Yeah.
Kendahl: So...
Julian Contreras Jr: And there's shows that I need to start. I haven't even talked about the new Spartacus house of Asher yet. The new traders is out. Find that one on Peacock. That one, you know how I've talked about the U S version is always celebrities.
Kendahl: Oh.
Kendahl: Mm-hmm.
Julian Contreras Jr: They did say on episode two that it is open. They want to do an American version with nine to fivers.
Kendahl: Mm. That'd be cool.
Julian Contreras Jr: My wife looked right at me and she's like, you're doing that, right?
Kendahl: Right?
Julian Contreras Jr: So i I don't know. i'll Maybe I'll put a poll up. I'll do a third post in a week. Should i do it?
Kendahl: There you go.
Julian Contreras Jr: Should i go for it?
Kendahl: Your first yes is here.
Julian Contreras Jr: First yes.
Julian Contreras Jr: Okay, I got one. oh
Kendahl: but i mean But I mean, we haven't even talked about like we haven't even talked about Fallout.
Julian Contreras Jr: My wife is number two, but she was number one for real. All right.
Kendahl: that's That's one that we both have been going back and forth on.
Julian Contreras Jr: Oh, yeah.
Kendahl: We we also need to talk about Fallout one of these times. We'll do that on the next show.
Julian Contreras Jr: Yeah, for sure.
Kendahl: that's People, that one's crazy. It's good, but it's crazy.
Julian Contreras Jr: Yeah. And we, as always, we appreciate you guys sticking with us through our rants for our raves. Our stories are conflicts that we go around with each other, but it's totally fine.
Julian Contreras Jr: We love you. It's the beginning of the year. Let's have a good one. Kendall, this is your time. What do you got?
Kendahl: You know what? Find something that makes you happy. I say it every time and that's the important thing. If it's a book, if it's a movie, if it's a TV show, if it's a song, if it's a back rub, I don't care. if it's a project, if it's a hobby, find something to love because the truth is there's a lot of reasons to get upset right now in this world, but the but reality is is that the world is what you make of it.
Kendahl: And either you can focus on the negative or you can find something good. And right now, Julian and I This is our this is our good. It's movies, it's TV shows. We barely talk about music.
Kendahl: We we kind of talk about video games every once in a while. But that's that's our love, right? That's our that's our joy. And so.
Julian Contreras Jr: It's exactly what the show is called. Shut off, turn on.
Kendahl: Yeah, shut off the world, turn on something good, find it to enjoy. And it's if that's what it is, right? I mean, find your joy. And don't let anybody take that away from you.
Kendahl: Because the truth is, is that if you can find your joy and someone says that's not part who of who they want to be or they don't want it to be a part of you, don't let that happen.
Kendahl: Keep your joy. Find that joy. Hold on to that joy and honestly, just love it. Just love it.
Julian Contreras Jr: Okay, until next time. Did he just say one solid rip?
Kendahl: And don't forget, turn on something good.
