Season 3 Updates and Brand Expansion

00:01:09
Speaker
Trust me, you won't want to miss an episode.
00:01:12
Speaker
Because this is the good guide where we're not just chasing success, we're defining it. Are you ready to elevate your career game? Let's dive in.
00:01:26
Speaker
I feel like I should be popping champagne right now because yours truly is ready to share what I've been working on with The Good Guide as a brand.
00:01:42
Speaker
All right. So this goes far beyond just the podcast, which by the way, welcome back to the podcast. Season 3, Episode 2, and we are back in business.
00:01:54
Speaker
i I hope you guys enjoyed the first episode, just kind of catching up on where I am. this is you' If you're watching the video or seeing any of my clips, you know um you're able to see my new background, my new apartment, and I just love it.
00:02:09
Speaker
But today I want to focus on... sharing all that i have been working on over the last, like I swear it's been about six six, seven like long months, partially because of just trying to balance 20 million things at once on top of moving, on top of working, on top of, I mean, everything, you name it. But today I'm breaking down you know why the Good Guide is evolving, you know what's coming next, and how it all ties into my brand's mission, the brand's mission. I mean, it's
00:02:50
Speaker
It just feel, it literally feels like, first of all, i'm I'm smiling so hard right now. My cheeks are hurting, but it literally feels, I don't have kids, but something about this feels like the first time you maybe share your pick of your child's name with the world or with your closest families and, or family and friends That's what I feel like right now. So I'm a little nervous to share everything, but I know that if you're listening in, that you are going to be so supportive of the evolution of the good guide. so
00:03:24
Speaker
first I want to start off kind of sharing a little bit around, you know, why I started The Good Guide as a podcast in the first place.
00:03:36
Speaker
I wanted it to be a place for me to communicate and and connect and share my personal career journey and how it has shaped my life, how it's shaped my outlook.
00:03:52
Speaker
and i And I wanted it to be a tool, a resource, a guide, as you know, to women who are also trying to navigate their own paths because I genuinely felt like While I had mentors and while I had people that I could kind of talk to, I felt like I was making these really bold decisions alone without a lot of guidance or without a lot of, you know, um sense that like, wow, people have really paved their career path in the same way that I'm trying to.

Beyond Conversations: Resources and Support

00:04:25
Speaker
On top of that, over the last two seasons that I've had the good guide going, like the feedback that I'd received from listeners, from guests, um you know, and and as I've seen my own, you know, I've had my own experience over the last couple of months, like it really just became clear to me that their need this needs to be more than just a conversation.
00:04:48
Speaker
Like there needs to be action behind the conversations that I that i am having. So, you know, the good guide is is really here to help women step into leadership and break past limiting beliefs at the end of the day and and thrive in their career, the career that they have decided to pave the path for, you know, the career that they have opted into and that they've said, this is what I want for me.
00:05:20
Speaker
And what's, you know, the betterment of of my life and my passions. You know, I want this to be a space where women don't just listen, right? They take action. Like I said, they get support. And more importantly, they feel seen in their endeavors to seek greatness in their careers.
00:05:42
Speaker
So for me, this this expansion isn't about more for the sake of more, right? um It's about creating the right resources for women at the right time. and i And I really felt like as I was bringing together the podcast or as the podcast started to take shape that like right now was was the right time.
00:06:07
Speaker
So without further ado, like what is coming next, right? So like, what does this all mean for for you guys? Or first, let me actually, let me not get ahead of myself um and first share what's coming next.
00:06:20
Speaker
And then after that, I'll share kind of what that means for my listeners. So here's what's not changing. The podcast. The podcast will continue to be the heart of the brand.
00:06:32
Speaker
It will continue to be where I truly create or bring my voice to life. It'll be it'll continue to be where I go with my career struggles. It'll continue to you know be a place where I share solo episodes, just like this one, you know where I will give you direct insight into leadership and career go growth and mindset shifts, right?
00:06:58
Speaker
I will continue to do guest interviews. like I actually love interviewing people that I admire and look up to, people that are experts within their field, people that are experts within things that I don't even know about. like I truly gain so experience.
00:07:14
Speaker
energy and inspiration from those. So guest interviews will continue to be also at the forefront of the podcast and and what I do. So it'll be and know continue to be the experts, thought leaders, and real women who are navigating leadership, right? Live in real time.
00:07:32
Speaker
And then In the future, I want to have interactive elements. So live recordings, I mean, oh my God, if I were to put it on, if I had a vision boy board right now in front of me, I would write like an eventual live recording. I would love to do that one day. So I'm just putting that out there because that is what I want out of the Good Guide podcast's future.
00:07:55
Speaker
live recording. i would love to do audience Q&As. Even in my outro bit, I ask for um questions to be provided from my listeners. That's something that I want to tee off at some point this season as well.
00:08:08
Speaker
So that is something that really I'm looking to seek your feedback and seek your questions and also create a sense of community engagement.

Leadership Coaching and Courses

00:08:19
Speaker
Now, here is what the expansion will include, right? So this is the new stuff.
00:08:25
Speaker
um So first and foremost, ah leadership coaching. So this is something that I am going to offer to women, whether it is in a one-on-one, so just me and you setting, or eventually group-based setting. And I shared this a little bit in my last episode, but for me, having people, having community that you can go to as you are facing both career wins, plateaus, I mean, career fails, you know, like I want to create a safe space for women to come together because sometimes as we all know, like sometimes it's not enough just having your friends, right? Or it's not just, it's not enough just having your partner.
00:09:13
Speaker
It's not enough just having your parents, right? You need a group of women that you feel you identified with, um that you feel you have like-mindedness with. And that's what I want to create in um more of a group coaching setting.
00:09:30
Speaker
I will also be providing courses and workshops that are focused on confidence, that are focused on executive presence, and that are focused on career growth.
00:09:43
Speaker
I already have a few that are out there on the website already. um So once that is live and available for you, dig into, like you will be able to see all that the course offers.
00:09:55
Speaker
My first course that I'm offering is is predominantly um geared towards new leaders of people um because that is a journey that I went through myself.
00:10:06
Speaker
And it was one that I learned so much about myself and my style and what I needed and things that were were positives, things that I was really afraid to do, but ultimately like left actually feeling really jazzed about it. So um I definitely wanted to save space for those new leaders of people out there.
00:10:27
Speaker
And then um one of the other things that I'll be offering are challenges and accountability tools because we don't grow in isolation. We constantly need to be evolving.
00:10:39
Speaker
um And to evolve, you need to be challenged. You need to change. You need to think outside of your current mindset and you need to expand, right? So That is where like the bulk of the change of the good guide will ultimately come from.
00:10:56
Speaker
You know, the coaching, the the ability to speak with you guys one-on-one, that is something that I'm so jazzed about. i genuinely, it fills my cup whenever i get to work with people, with women in particular, through challenges. And i when I really get to have heart-to-heart, one-on-one conversations,
00:11:24
Speaker
and provide guidance and in all of that. And so I'm i'm really excited to to launch that feature as well, which will all be accessible through through my website.

Brand Philosophy and Community Engagement

00:11:36
Speaker
Okay, so let's get down to kind of what the brand, like what is the ethos, the voice, the tone of my brand? Hopefully this doesn't come as a surprise to anyone listening or or watching because It is very much authentic to how I show up even on this podcast today and and have always. And so hopefully this doesn't, you know, um kind of jar or or surprise anybody. But in general, I'd say my ethos, like at the end of the day, the good guide is built on authenticity. It is one of my favorite words that I use probably times.
00:12:16
Speaker
times in a given day, it means so much to me. And there's so much power behind being authentic. So that is what the good guide is built off of.
00:12:29
Speaker
Authenticity, boldness, and ultimately like strategic career growth. So being really mindful about the career decisions that you're making, that I'm i'm making along this journey.
00:12:43
Speaker
right? um From a voice and a tone perspective, because it was really important to me that my brand, again, i didn't want to create this kind of like robotic carbon copy of what like leadership needs to sound like, like absolutely not.
00:13:00
Speaker
I am not here to sugarcoat leadership. I am here to prepare women, to prepare you all for it. So like that directness is is exactly what you're going to get, just like you get on the podcast.
00:13:15
Speaker
um If anything, I would say you're going to get even more of that, especially in the one-on-one and group coaching, um because that's the unfiltered. That's where the the, you know, the really, the candid conversations where I might need to shake you, shake those shoulders a little bit and and kind of um tell you to to toughen up and, you know, talk this talk and et cetera.
00:13:38
Speaker
But the brand at the same time is is also confident and it's relatable and strategic. And at the core of it, I have always wanted the the the tone of what I put out there to be approachable, right? To be um digestible.
00:13:56
Speaker
Like I want that for you all in this experience and as you guys connect with me. My goal ultimately is for you to feel empowered, to feel seen, and to feel equipped after engaging in any way, shape, and form that you choose to engage with the good guy. Be that via the podcast, be that via courses, be that via one-on-one connections with me.
00:14:24
Speaker
um Those are the three like big you know kind of empowered, seen, and equipped is what I want you to take away.
00:14:33
Speaker
So ultimately, what does this mean for you, right? Like, okay, great. Shay, you've shared all of these amazing things that you've worked on. Like, what does this mean for me as your loyal listener or as your brand new listener that's finding you for the first time? Like, what does this mean?
00:14:54
Speaker
So if you're ultimately here for career goal growth, the good guide said plain and simply, is for you. This space is for you. And I'm looking you dead in the eye at the camera like the good guide is for you. And i want you to feel that wholeheartedly.
00:15:14
Speaker
If you stepping into leadership and feel unprepared, you're not alone because I've got you because that is what the good guide is for.
00:15:26
Speaker
If you're craving community you know, a community of women who just quote unquote get it, that is ah is exactly what I am trying to build.
00:15:41
Speaker
That is what I'm building. That is what I'm creating. That is what I like yearn to in a year from now have and be able to look at and say like, wow, this is a well-equipped, supportive community of women leaders.
00:15:59
Speaker
So here is my challenge for you. Think about where you are in your career right now. What do you need for support?
00:16:12
Speaker
How can I support you through this moment in your career? It could be the smallest of things. It could be a major roadblock. It could be, you know,
00:16:23
Speaker
ah conversation with your boss gone wrong. Like I want you to genuinely think about if you're listening right now, like how can I be of service to you? Because that's ultimately what i i want. I want to be that resource for you. So I would say obviously the site is going to go live, the website, and you can save it now.
00:16:45
Speaker
um By the time this episode comes out, it will be live, but it'll be thegoodguide.co. So thegoodguide.co.
00:16:56
Speaker
So you can message me and reach out to me there. You can DM me um on Instagram, which my Instagram handle is thegoodguide. So I dropped the podcast part and now it's just thegoodguide.
00:17:09
Speaker
um Or you can email me. So that's just going to be Shannara. So my full name, Shannara at thegoodguide.co. da oh um So you can reach me there as well. And I would love, absolutely love to hear from you.
00:17:23
Speaker
um And i'm I'm so excited to to have you along on this journey. So here are the things that you ultimately need to know. There's nothing that is changing about the way that you consume the good guide.
00:17:38
Speaker
Now the pot or the good guide podcast, I should say now this will still remain. I will still be creating episodes with both guests and solo episodes. So that is not changing.
00:17:50
Speaker
If this is how you want to engage with me, like by all means, I can't wait to have you listen on the next episode. If there are ways in which you would love to work with me, be it one-on-one coaching, group coaching, um if you would want to check out my webinars and some freebies that I have on my website, that's where you can go to thegoodguide.co.

Brand Expansion Journey and Acknowledgments

00:18:15
Speaker
Now, how did I get here, right? How did I get to this expansion? um Here's what I will say. It has been journey.
00:18:27
Speaker
It has taken me about seven six to seven months to really get to this point where I am ready and comfortable with sharing this expansion and what it looks like.
00:18:38
Speaker
And i owe so much credit, literally every lick of credit I owe to my brand strategist, Christy, who I've worked with. And so I'm really excited because...
00:18:52
Speaker
In the next episode, I am actually going to be sitting down with Christy and we are going to use the good guide as a little bit of ah a test case, but just kind of walk you guys through, especially if you were a person who's listening in and maybe create the creation of a brand or even, hey, even your personal brand is something that you want to work on.
00:19:11
Speaker
Christy was so amazing to work with. And I just want to have a candid conversation with her around the whys behind the format and the way in which we work together to ultimately get down to to what the good guide now is.
00:19:30
Speaker
um So we're going to break down why brand clarity is essential and why at the end of the day, it's um the foundation of the of the good guide's next phase. So Keep an eye out for that next episode. That's going to be coming out in two weeks since I released my episodes biweekly.
00:19:48
Speaker
um But I'm looking forward to sharing that with you because they're they's so i learned so much um along the way. And i and i I've been working with her, like I said, for six to seven months. And I'm so fortunate. I'm so glad that I did because now I feel like I have so much clarity and understanding of like what I'm standing for when it comes to this expansion. so All right.
00:20:13
Speaker
That was a meaty one. That was a meaty episode. I feel like there was so much that I wanted to share with you. And so thank you for saving space for me and um allowing me to share this new journey. And don't forget to check out the new episode, which is or excuse me, the new website, which is now live.
