Introduction & Special Format

00:00:16
Speaker
What is up, Goal Line listeners? We are back with a special Monday afternoon edition of the Goal Line. Me and Jordan are really just me specifically. We had some scheduling conflicts, so we're not doing our normal Monday night football watch-along. I know everybody loved hearing Jordan get to experience that dramatic comfort-behind win live on the air last week. But Monday afternoon, a little bit of a shorter format this week, but let's not waste any time. Let's get

Weekend Football Surprises

00:00:40
Speaker
right into it. Jordan, what's going on, man?
00:00:41
Speaker
Not too much, man. Just, uh, another exciting weekend of football. Well, for some of us, it was exciting for most of us. It was not, but yeah, just ready to talk some football, man. You know, this idea to do the Monday afternoon taping came kind of late in hindsight. We really just should have done a Sunday night recording instead. And we could have gotten the other side of the coin last night with that chief since I would not have recorded last night.
00:01:05
Speaker
So why would you record for Eagles and Falcons? That's our normal recording time. Got you. Got you. OK. All right. Let's get into the football action from this week. All right. So just like we had all planned, Pittsburgh, Kansas City, Minnesota, and Seattle are the undefeateds. Also Buffalo still undefeated, barring the result tonight.
00:01:34
Speaker
Dude, this is like the most wild NFL season through three weeks that I can ever remember. I just, there's so much mediocrity through three weeks of NFL action. It's just, I mean, it really does speak to the depth of the rosters in NFL. Now, like you just never know who's going to win weekend and week out, but I don't know, man.

Vikings' Strong Start & Sam Darnold's MVP Potential

00:01:54
Speaker
I just feel like there's so many mediocre teams this year. What do you think?
00:01:57
Speaker
Definitely. The cream has not risen to the top just yet. AFC, I'm less surprised. We knew the Steelers were going to be tough. I didn't quite expect them to be 3-0, but we knew they were going to be pretty solid this year with the upgrade at the QB position. The Bills are actually a little bit surprising. I fully expect them to handle their business against the Jaguars tonight. We thought they were going to be taking a step back and kind of having to claw the way to the playoff spot.
00:02:18
Speaker
Dude, they, you know, it's not one of those things where the record doesn't match what you're seeing with your eyes. The bills have looked tremendous. I think they've been much more impressive than Casey. Obviously, Casey, when it's winning time, they know how to turn it on and close out a game. But the bills have looked really impressive so far. And, dude, the Vikings, man, when do we start talking Sam Darnold for MVP, man? I think as we approach the quarter mark of the season, he's definitely the front runner.
00:02:40
Speaker
They're for real, dude. This team is, they're good. Um, they, they're playing mistake free football. Do they have the second best scoring defense in the NFL? Also like them and the Steelers are the top two Steelers have allowed 26 points. Vikings have allowed 30, but on the flip side, the Vikings have scored 85 and the Steelers have scored 51. So
00:03:02
Speaker
dude, it's, it's really hard to ignore what the Vikings are doing through three weeks. And it ain't like they just beat three cupcake teams either. I mean, they beat the giants week one, which say whatever you want about them. But I mean, dude, back to back weeks, they beat the 49ers and Texans. Like I don't, I don't know how much more impressive you can get them that.
00:03:19
Speaker
Yeah, I feel like we we kind of should have seen this coming, man. We both discounted them, you know, losing Kirk Cousins and especially when J.J. McCarthy went down with the injury in the preseason. But, dude, the Vikings were playing some damn good ball before Kirk Cousins got injured last year.
00:03:35
Speaker
Yeah, for sure. I honestly think a little bit of it for me was maybe not even just Sam Darnold, but coming into the season, knowing Hopkinson wasn't gonna be playing the first at least six, eight games. And then Darnold just learning a new offense, you know, it's just, I don't know, man, they're playing, I thought their defense was gonna be their problem. And I mean, their defense last year was miserable, but their defense is elite through three games, so.
00:04:03
Speaker
Yeah, they're looking tough, man. I think the Packers have been keeping their head above water with Jordan Love being out so far, but the Vikings really got a chance to get a leg up in this division with some tough competitions with the Packers and Lions with the start that

Tampa Bay & New Orleans Struggles

00:04:19
Speaker
they're off to.
00:04:19
Speaker
Now, we have to hit the flip side of this coin because we gave both of these teams a lot of love last week. Tampa Bay and New Orleans came crashing down to earth this weekend. The NFC South is going to NFC South, man. Yeah, dude.
00:04:34
Speaker
I did not think New Orleans was as good as their first two weeks, but I also didn't think they were as bad as they played yesterday. I mean, the Eagles literally just tried handing them that game. Sirianni was, I swear to God, he was trying to get fired by halftime. They passed up field goals three times in that game. And then for him to finally attempt one, it was like a 58 yarder for Jake Elliott. Yeah. No, these 30 yard field goals, screw that. Give me the 60 yarder. That's what we want. I just, I don't understand it. Tampa Bay.
00:05:03
Speaker
Their offense is going to just have weeks where they look like that. But dude, their defense looked bad yesterday against Bo Nix. I was really surprised by that, I guess. And Bo Nix has looked pretty hapless so far in the first two weeks, man. That was a big glow up for him because he had looked, you know, Bryce Young-esque those first couple of weeks with some of those interceptions he was throwing.
00:05:24
Speaker
Okay. Since we're going to go speed around, let's just talk about our two teams in college and

Nebraska's Challenges

00:05:29
Speaker
NFL. I know we're not going to hit on college a lot this week, but, uh, Nebraska laid an absolute dud on Friday night. That looked more like the Scott Frost coached Nebraska than it did, uh, Matt rule coach Nebraska. Just a lot of mental errors and seem like we got tight in the fourth quarter. It seemed like they had shaky knees a little bit, man. Like they, they definitely were not ready for that moment.
00:05:49
Speaker
It's, it's tough, man. Like when you're coming off so many bad seasons in a row, like a lot of these guys on this team don't know how to win. When it counts, Dylan, or I was still a freshman quarterback, freshman quarterback, got a freshman quarterback. It's just, it's one of those things I did not love the body language I saw from the sideline or the players on the field in the fourth quarter. I just, they just kind of look, they were on their heels, man. They just looked lifeless in the fourth quarter, I thought, which is not.
00:06:14
Speaker
which is not what we saw the first three weeks. Dude, that Colorado game, Nebraska looks like they could literally play with anybody in that game. They just, I don't know, just, it was weird. And considering it was the 400 sellout and they said that crowd was so loud on Friday night, I think the Friday night aspect is more of a thing than I think people lead on. I hate the Friday night games, dude. I mean, it's fun as a viewer, but as far as like an athlete, like I can't imagine going for them playing Saturday,
00:06:41
Speaker
whatever time you play on Saturday to a Friday night game. I mean, they canceled classes in Lincoln on Friday because there was going to be so many people down there. So kind of just fucked up their schedule. And I'm not going to put too much into it yet. We'll see how they respond this week. But that was definitely a tad concerning for me. I know, man. Last week, we were already pushing their tickets for the freaking playoff.

Tennessee's Continued Success

00:07:01
Speaker
Yeah. On the flip side, Tennessee just keeps winning and doing what they're doing. I mean, they're too. Did you see that first touchdown pass? Nikko through? I did. Yeah.
00:07:11
Speaker
I mean, the way he throws that ball, dude, it's just, it's spinning so fast off his hand, man. It's a beautiful thing to watch, dude. They're looking tough, man. And dude, even more so than the offense, they're defense, dude. Because the offense put the defense in a bad position a couple of times and the defense just turned around and got the ball right back for him, man. Their defense is, you know, Nico with his highlight plays and stuff is getting all the attention, but dude, their defense has been absolutely smothering teams. Yeah.
00:07:36
Speaker
And I did say last week that I thought Oklahoma was in way over its head playing against Tennessee. I just, I don't think Oklahoma was as good as their record. And I also think that, um, Tennessee is just, that's an excellent football team. I mean, they're well coached. They don't, they don't beat themselves, which I mean, dude, I know we say it all the time, but that's, that's the biggest thing about college football. You just can't beat yourself. And it's what they're doing, man. Hyples got those boys playing.
00:08:01
Speaker
If you're an Oklahoma fan, how do you feel after, you know, you chased, uh, Dylan Gabriel off to Oregon and this guy that's supposed to be, you know, the heir apparent man, Jackson Arnold, you can't eat, you know, he's getting benched at halftime against the balls. Yeah, it's not good. I just, man, I do not get good vibes from Oklahoma

Concerns for Oklahoma's Performance

00:08:20
Speaker
right now. Like, like I said, I didn't think they played great the first three weeks. And then that Tennessee game was just,
00:08:27
Speaker
I don't know. Also got to mention since we're just hitting on college real quick, Michigan absolutely made us look like we were wrong on Michigan. No, here's what we were wrong on is basically how great Texas is. Like, I mean, we were given Texas a lot of love, but what they did to Michigan, man,
00:08:45
Speaker
It looks 10 times more impressive now to me what they did to Michigan after watching that USC game like dude Michigan put it on USC They could not move the ball at all in the second half in Michigan ticket back to the 50s man I think they threw the ball like seven or eight times the whole game, dude They just straight up pounding the rock. Yeah, it was it was impressive to see they're gonna be a tough out but I
00:09:06
Speaker
Uh, on back to NFL and our two teams, Tennessee has just got a tank at this point, right? Like they're, they're not. I'm watching your door dude. After, after seeing that hail Mary Saturday night, dude, and then seeing well, Levis throw a, a pick six to desire Alexander, you know, five minutes into the game, uh, you know, brings your door to Tennessee. Let's see what he can do. For all his flaws, dude, I feel like he's definitely got the, uh,
00:09:31
Speaker
I don't know the game sense, the composure, man. He can rise to the occasion. I feel like we need something different. And to be honest, I don't really think sure doors the answer, but it definitely will love us. I've seen enough. He was the same guy at Penn State that he was at Kentucky that now is with the Titans, man.
00:09:46
Speaker
Awesome athlete really really good leadership skills like he's like, you know if you're casting for your team, dude Like yeah, you putting a guy like that at the starting QB position, but I just he just doesn't got the decision-making ability, man I don't know if it's the way he's seeing the field or just like straight up the way he's processed and what he's seeing, you know the coverage Just too many backbreaking mistakes to the point where dude, I'm not sure he makes it through October on the field for the Titans.

Falcons' Repeated Mistakes

00:10:12
Speaker
Yeah onto the Falcons
00:10:21
Speaker
I don't know, man. I just, I feel like they have to cut, uh, overcome so many things that they do wrong in a game. And it just, it's just a snowball effect. Like it just, everything ends up in the same exact position, fourth and one or fourth and inches basically. And you can't run a quarterback sneak. It's like, dude, I get the cousin shit, but dude, put Michael Penix in the game then he's gigantic. You, you have to know what's coming. Who cares, dude?
00:10:41
Speaker
another game where they should win and they don't.
00:10:47
Speaker
That whole last drive was so frustrating for me. They get it to third and one after that Drake London catch. And then where he Morris calls a time out when the dude, the clock is your friend at that point. Like you needed to burn as much clock as you could. There's one to get Patrick Mahomes. Anytime there's one or three left. Like, dude, I just, I don't know, man, there's just a lot of things the Falcons do that really frustrate me. I felt like they played, they definitely played well enough to win their defense, give them every opportunity to win.
00:11:17
Speaker
Kyle Pitts did get mugged on that second-class play. I know you literally got fucking can't I can't let that go I mean yeah, then the day final score is the final score, but
00:11:27
Speaker
But, but yeah, man, as I told you last night, we were talking, dude, if I'm a Falcons fan, you know, end of the day, one, one and two is not where you want to be. But there are two losses where two of the other feet of teams left in the league and they were within striking distance to get the win, man. And I thought Kirk cousins is much improved since that week one showing. So I think in the NFC South, I think the Falcons are going to be just fine.
00:11:51
Speaker
Also out of that game, dude, if you're a cheese fan, are you a tad concerned about the way they're playing? Like to me, I don't know, man. There was just never a time last night where I'm like, Oh God, they're just going to just put the stranglehold on the Falcons and just drive down the field for a long drive. Do Travis Kelsey. I don't know what the hell is going on at this point. This is the third week we're talking about it. And I just, I don't think it's going to get better. There's clearly something wrong with the dude. Maybe it's just old age, man. I mean,
00:12:20
Speaker
Father time waits for no one like it just it just happens so fast though, I think so. I mean, what do you think like like we're watching him? I mean, we're both watching the same games. Like what do you think about like the Chiefs offense as a whole and and Travis Kelsey?
00:12:37
Speaker
I mean it's been less than impressive But I feel like the offense in the middle of the season last year was worse than it's been the first couple weeks this year They still got some weapons I feel like they have better weapons this year and you know if I'm a Chiefs fan like yeah I might it hasn't been a plus yet, but If I'm your 3-0 on the way to defending my 3-peat. I think I'm good with it man like so I think they just got to keep it close to you they they have got the
00:13:01
Speaker
They know how to win, man. They do not lose games. And yeah, dude, the refs being in their back pocket definitely helps out a lot. But this is a team, as long as it's close, they're going to win. You got to be up by two scores against these guys in the fourth quarter.

Chiefs' Performance & Officiating Issues

00:13:14
Speaker
One score is never going to cut it against them. So I'm not too upset if I'm a Chiefs fan. Obviously, you want to see a little bit of improvement as we round the quarter on the first month of the season being over. What about Travis Kelsey? What do you think?
00:13:27
Speaker
Yeah, I don't know if he could have a nagging injury. Like he said, dude, father time's undefeated, man. It could be as simple as that, that he's just, you see that with a lot of players, dude, they sometimes players gradually kind of go downhill and then sometimes guys just one day they show up and they're washed, man. And that, that may be what we're seeing. Maybe he's got something going on, you know, a nagging injury that we don't know about. They're just not disclosing to, to the media. And we ended up seeing him, you know,
00:13:51
Speaker
start, start putting up some numbers. But, uh, I mean, yeah, dude, I don't think he's, he's barely been a factor in the offense aside from, you know, the star power. Here's my thing too. Like I think this could be some off the field stuff too. And I mean, he has the most public relationship ever with the biggest superstar in the world right now. It's gotta be exhausting.
00:14:10
Speaker
Dude him and his brother do one of the biggest podcasts in the world that just signed a hundred million dollar deal Like this dude has so has more going on off the field than probably anybody else in the NFL You know, it's just I don't know man. It's just it's got to take its toll eventually and
00:14:28
Speaker
Dude, there's something to be said. I was reading about it yesterday too before the game. This dude spent his entire summer traveling for his girlfriend's tours and stuff. And I mean, dude, at some point that's just going to take over and it's just going to be too much for you. Like, I don't know, man, that dude has a lot going on is all I'm saying.
00:14:46
Speaker
Definitely wasn't live in the the TB 12 method all summer. Yeah, it's just he was definitely wasn't eating grass and dirt all summer. That's for sure Avocado ice cream, but yeah, it's just I don't know man. It's just weird watching them I was gonna touch on the officiating but you already said it it's so It's just so frustrating as a fan of the other team that's going against the Chiefs watching them get some of these calls like
00:15:09
Speaker
there was a roughing to pass around the game where I was just like, Jesus, dude, this is ridiculous. And then, yeah, that Kyle Pitts getting tackled in the end zone. And there was chief fans that were like, Oh, he made a play on the ball. He definitely did not make a play on the ball. He didn't know where the ball was at. Well, first of all, Pitts got held going into the end zone. And then two seconds later, it gets tackled by the same dude. So I just, I don't know, man, it's just, it's frustrating to watch as a fan.
00:15:33
Speaker
But I'm not just saying this about the chiefs either officiating all around between NFL and college has been atrocious this year. I feel like I'm noticing it more and more every week now. Like there's, there's a lot more ticky tack calls, but then the things that should be called don't get called. So I don't know, man, not, not super

Hypothetical QB Swap Impact

00:15:52
Speaker
impressed with the officiating at either level right now.
00:15:55
Speaker
Yeah, it's been rough. We did have one question this week, and this was actually one of my topics, so we'll just go ahead and get into the question. It's from my buddy Mike Miller. The question was, if the Texans... Is this Mike Miller of the Miami Heat? No, it is not. Oh, okay. Have a check. If the Texans and Panthers had swapped QBs in the draft last year, would either team be the same, and would the quarterbacks be producing the same amount?
00:16:20
Speaker
Um, I think Bryce young is a little bit better. I think CJ Stroud is about what he's been, dude. I think, I don't think he'd get as much pub cause CJ Stroud not being on the good team. He wouldn't have his chance for his fourth quarter heroics cause yeah, I'm big on PFF. The analytics actually breaking down this stuff, man. And they actually had CJ Stroud, um, graded out as the number 15 quarterback in the league last year. So perfect, you know, right in the middle.
00:16:44
Speaker
That being said, I know CJ Stroud's got some stuff that the numbers just aren't going to show his ability to rise up, make the big plays in the clutch. You know, he's got that clutch factor that just there's no real way to kind of grade that out. So I don't think he would get a chance to show that but I think, you know, the Panthers would look a lot more similar to how they looked yesterday with Andy Dalton.
00:17:03
Speaker
I think Bryce Young would be, I think he'd be keeping his head above water also, man. I think he's got some serious limitations, but he went to probably the worst possible situation he could have gone to there in Carolina and had almost no chance for success. See, dude, I just think the way the Panthers are set up, they're not, no one's going to succeed. Andy Dalton had that day yesterday, but how long is that going to last? Right. This franchise has just got awful at this point.
00:17:29
Speaker
I still, I agree with you. I think CJ shroud would still be good. Um, I dude, I just don't think Bryce young's a very good quarterback. If I'm being completely honest, like, I mean, even when he has time and you see him scan the field, like he, he rarely makes the right decision. He often throws it high. I just, I don't know, man.
00:17:49
Speaker
I just don't, I just, I can't ignore what I saw at Alabama, dude. I watched the dude played Alabama and he was damn good. Okay. Well then let's not, I mean, dude, Mack Jones is the exact same story. The dude was an absolute star at Alabama. This is the thing that I always say about Alabama and Ohio state quarterbacks. They're playing on such loaded teams and the field is landed so far.
00:18:08
Speaker
in their favor, like they're going to look good. That's the, that's my, that's always been my issue with those two schools. Quarterbacks is like the talent is so high that I mean, yeah, these guys are so good quarterbacks, but it's so hard to go from your team being that much better than everyone else to going to a team that is probably going to be worse than everybody else you're playing. Like I just, I think it's so hard for those guys to adjust to that.
00:18:34
Speaker
Yeah, that makes sense. Um, that's really it for NFL news since we're going to speed around on this.

College Football: Georgia vs. Alabama Preview

00:18:39
Speaker
Let's, before we get in our NFL picks, we do gotta pick the just absolutely titanic game going down this weekend in college football. Number two, Georgia against number four, Alabama. I think Georgia wins, man. I think this is gonna be a classic like early 2000s SEC slugfest. I don't, if you're expecting fireworks, I don't think you're gonna get them this game. Now maybe they go out and put on just a pretty good showstopper game, prove me wrong dude, but I'm thinking we're gonna see something like
00:19:06
Speaker
13 to 10, 16 to 14 kind of score on this thing. And it's just a straight up rock fight. Dude, two weeks ago, if you'd asked me this, I think I would have said Georgia rules, Bama, but dude, watching them play against Kentucky and the way Kentucky just played so physical against them on defense. I mean, dude, I think Alabama is going to do the same thing.
00:19:28
Speaker
I'm not going to say I don't understand like what everybody's so high on Carson Beck about he's definitely a good quarterback, but I guess I'm just not as high as everyone else and I'm not seeing what everyone else is like. Dude, I don't see top 10 pick when I watch Carson Beck play and that's what everybody hasn't projected as and.
00:19:46
Speaker
I just, I don't see it, man. It's another one of those cases of like, dude, he's playing on one of the most talented teams in college football. When I watch, you don't see the flash plays out of him. Like, dude, when you watch Jalen Miller, Jalen Millrow for Alabama play, like that dude looks like he's going to be a star at the next level. I just,
00:20:03
Speaker
Yeah, and I feel like Millrow gets discounted just because he struggled a lot stepping into that role last season. And I feel like people who haven't watched that closely probably still just kind of label him as like, oh yeah, he's that guy that got benched for a little bit, dude. Now, Millrow can ball, man. So I do think Alabama is going to give him a run for their money. I get what you're saying about Beck too, dude. Doesn't jump off the screen the way some of these other guys do. I'm going to actually pick Bama. I think that being at home, I think
00:20:29
Speaker
Dude, Georgia two weeks ago really did make me think that they're not maybe not as good as we all thought they were. I said he was a coaching decision away from possibly beating those guys. I still think they're really good. Don't get me wrong. So this is not me saying I think Alabama is going to blow George out. This game could go either way. I just Alabama being at home. This is a divorce first really big test at Bama. I don't know, man. I just have a feeling they played just inspired football on Saturday night and come out with a win. All right.
00:21:03
Speaker
Is that it for the news this week? Yeah, I already said that was a, you said we're going to pick the one college game. Oh yeah, my bad. All right. Sorry. We're not, we're off, dude. We're off our normal recording time. So we're just son of a bitch. I'm not cracking. I'm usually cracking a cold one after a day of working and then getting back to football practice, man. So I'm off my rhythm. Let's get into a picks for next week.

NFL Game Predictions: Cowboys vs. Giants

00:21:39
Speaker
All right, Jordan, I know we still got two games up in the air. Are picks for week three decided? They are decided. Jordan went eight and six. Seth went seven and seven. Son of a bitch, man. Jordan is up two, oh, and one this season. So, you know, you want me to tell you what the deciding game was?
00:21:58
Speaker
Yeah. You picked Arizona, I picked Detroit. Oh my goodness, man. You let Arizona cloud your judgment and you also picked Tennessee. That was a pretty poor decision. Dude, I thought, I didn't think they were going to go to O and three with Malik Willis coming into town, man. Nobody could have seen that, dude. Malik Willis revenge game was real. He played the best game he's played in the pros, man. Maybe ever. Yeah. All right. Let's get into the week four slate, man. Tom flies when you're having fun. How are we already in a week four, dude?
00:22:27
Speaker
Yeah, it just goes so fast. That's what I say to people about NFL. I'm like, dude, don't take any weeks for granted. It goes too fast. Yeah. Thursday night, we got a classic NFC East rivalry. We won in two Cowboys heading into Jersey to face the Giants. I'd love to see the Giants win, man, just because I really can't stand Cowboys fans. But I don't see any way that Cowboys dropped a one in three here. Yeah, Dallas are going to roll the Giants this week.
00:22:57
Speaker
All right, we got the Broncos and Jets. This is, you know, the Broncos were long rumored to be the ultimate destination for Aaron Rodgers. Obviously he ends up with the Jets. Bonex coming off his first win. I think the Broncos got a little bit of juice here. I really have not been that impressed with the Jets, but I think the kind of softish early schedule they got is really going to continue to benefit them. And I think the Jets get the three of them. Yeah.
00:23:19
Speaker
I will say this, I thought the Jets offense looked a lot better on Thursday night against New England, who is no slouch on defense. And I still feel like the Jets defense is going to carry them through the season. I just, dude, I don't think Bo Nix is going to do what he did against the Bucks against the Jets. I just feel like the Jets defense is so much better. So yeah, I'm going Jets.
00:23:41
Speaker
All right, this should be a pretty dang good game. We're at Lambo, the freaking juggernaut, 3-0 Minnesota Vikings, heading in to face the 2-1 Packers, who won both games without Jordan Love. I'm going to go Minnesota. I think their defense is just so much better. And I feel like their defense is going to keep them in the game. And I think Darnell makes enough plays to get them to win.
00:24:04
Speaker
I want Packers, dude. I think the opposite. I think it's a close one. I think this has got big potential to be the best game of the week in the NFL. I think it comes down to the wire. I think we see the Packers defense make just enough plays to bring Sam Donald back down to earth a little bit. I'll say Green Bay wins in Lambeau. All right, dude, this is going to be a good one, man. One of the fiercest rivalries in the NFL, two and one Saints heading into Atlanta to face the one and two Falcons.
00:24:31
Speaker
I'm going Falcons. Um, we've, we've talked about this before. Um, if it's Falcon sense, I'm picking Falcons, even if it means a loss, I do feel like the Falcons are, are good enough this season to beat the teams in their division. And I think it starts this week. Like we said, Atlanta had every chance to be two and one.
00:24:49
Speaker
And dude, I don't know, just watching New Orleans offense gets shut down by what through two weeks looked like a not very good defense in the Eagles. I just, I don't know. I think the Falcons do enough on defense to get the win. I think the Falcons are the better team, dude, but I also feel like they're going to find a way to lose this thing. I'll pick Falcons out of solidarity with you, man, but I feel very, very shaky on this one.
00:25:20
Speaker
It's a big game for them, dude. Is it too early to call this a crossroads in the season for the Falcons? Dude, they got the Saints on Sunday and then they got the Bucks on Thursday, so this is a crossroads in the season. They need to win these two games. They need to sweep these, yeah. All right, Eagles 2-1 heading down to Tampa to face the Bucks. I think the Eagles get the win, man. Their favorites on the road, 2.5 points.
00:25:41
Speaker
Um, I think they keep getting it done, dude. I think this is a, you know, this is a rematch from the playoffs last year. The bucks kind of kicked their ass in the playoffs. I think the Eagles are going to have a lot to be fired up about. I think it's a close game, but I think Philly does enough to get the win. I mean, the Eagles are a Saquon Barkley drop away from being three and Oh, so it's, it's tough to say that they're playing bad. Cause that's what everybody keeps saying is like, they're not playing good. And I don't think hurts is playing his best ball yet, but I just think the Eagles are a better team. So yeah, I'm going to Eagles as well.
00:26:11
Speaker
Bengals and Panthers. Bengals potentially, I'm assuming they're going to be one and two, but we'll see. Potentially on three Bengals heading in to face the Panthers. I think that one week, you know, boost that we saw from Andy Dalton coming in that lineup fades away quickly. And I think the Bengals roll. Yeah, the Bengals are getting T Higgins back tonight and I feel like it's going to make a huge difference for their offense. Yeah, I think the Bengals start to get it cooking this week and leading into this game this weekend.
00:26:38
Speaker
All right. Speaking of desperation, but the Jags got the bills tonight. They're potentially going to be, what's that? They're going to be on three. Yeah. Oh, potentially. Oh, and three heading into Houston coming off a tough loss against the Vikings. I think Houston wins and did. Do we, how hot is that seat underneath Doug Peterson? If the bike, if the Jags dropped that own four,
00:26:59
Speaker
To be quite honest with you, I don't know why they brought him back this season after the collapse of last season. So it better be on fire. And I do think they're going to be on for everything. I've watched from the Jaguars through the first two weeks and we'll see how they play tonight. That's not a good football team and their poor coach. You can tell Lawrence does not look like himself at all this season. I think they do drop down for, and I do think he gets fired by week six.
00:27:26
Speaker
The Colts somehow came away with the win yesterday. That was about the ugliest a team has looked in a win. Anthony Richardson, man, through three games, he is below 50% completion percentage.
00:27:39
Speaker
Only 580 yards passing, three touchdowns, six interceptions. It's time to start getting worried about Anthony Richardson. Yeah, they got the freak in. The dungeon of doom on defense over here for the Steelers, man. Just a hard hitting, fast, playmaking defense. I think we see the Colts get dropped at home and the Steelers go to Florida, man.
00:28:03
Speaker
I'm going to be honest, after watching that game yesterday, Anthony Richardson cannot throw a ball underneath. He's, he's just only good at the deep ball. That pick he threw in the end zone was an all time bad throw that I've ever seen from a quarterback. So I'm with you, dude. I think Pittsburgh's defense is just all over him this entire game. We got our good buddy Hawk, who is the biggest cold tomer in the world. And even he finally had to concede yesterday that he's starting to really doubt Anthony Richardson. Yeah, it's not good.
00:28:33
Speaker
Dude, I will keep saying it man. Watch out for the Steelers, dude. I feel like they're flying under the radar, man. They are going to be freaking tough. Like dude, if I'm Patrick, my homes, man, I do not want to face the Steelers in the playoffs. I think they are going to be damn good. Also, we can stop talking about Russell Wilson now. Like he is 100% the backup quarterback. That was probably fields best game as a pro yesterday.
00:28:56
Speaker
Yeah, he's just playing smooth mistake free ball, man. And hey, Russell Wilson, that's an awesome backup to have, dude. On the off chance Justin Fields does get hurt, dude. I think you're still going to get a little boost. You're going to have the crowd excited to see Russell Wilson come in, man, if it comes to that. But hopefully it doesn't, man. I'm rooting for Justin Fields. And I've never liked the Steelers, man. But for whatever reason, I'm kind of liking this punch so far this season. They're fun to watch.
00:29:20
Speaker
Rams with a huge win, man. They come from behind win late against the Niners yesterday, going into Chicago to place the Bears who, you know, Caleb Williams hasn't looked great either, dude. He's a two-touch challenge for interceptions after three games, man. He's not looked, you know, his O-line is probably the biggest culprit on that. I think they probably got a bigger piece of pie on that blame than Caleb does, but it's a tough team coming in to face him, man. What's your read on this game?
00:29:47
Speaker
Dude, their offensive line is so bad.

Bears vs. Rams Game Analysis

00:29:50
Speaker
I just watching that game yesterday, Caleb Williams made some good plays, but to their offensive line is just going to keep holding them back. I just, their defense is really good. I will give them that. But man, the short-handed Rams yesterday coming back to beat the Niners. I seriously, before that game started yesterday, before the Rams and Irish game started, I was like, the bear should easily beat the Rams. I'm not so sure anymore.
00:30:18
Speaker
I think the bears have to win though. I'm going to take the bears. Um, I think the Rams winded. I think the Rams take it down. Rams are a damn good team and I don't care if there are one or two. I think the Rams beat the bears. Okay. All right. Possible toilet bowl for this week. The commanders traveling to Arizona to face the Cardinals. I see no reason to believe that the, uh, the commanders are going to get this one here, man. I don't think the, I think the Cardinals get back to 500. Yeah, I agree. Cardinals.
00:30:46
Speaker
Patriots and 49ers man tough one dude, you know, the Niners are weaponless dude three can see MC Deebo and George Kittle all Possibly potentially out again this week And the Patriots got a tough defense. I think the Niners win They're installed as heavy favorites right now ten and a half point favorites, but but yeah, it's not gonna be easy
00:31:07
Speaker
Dude, I know what you're going to say about this. We talked about this yesterday about Brock Purdy and stuff. And I'm definitely not saying he's the problem. But remember what I said before the season. When McCaffrey is hurt, this team is not the same. And yeah, Mason is playing really well. I'm telling you, dude, their offense just does not run the same when McCaffrey is not out there. He's just- Teams are on their heels, man. There's much. Yeah, it's just- Yeah, teams are able to play a little bit more downhill and aggressively.
00:31:35
Speaker
Now, having said all that, the 49ers better beat the Patriots. If they go to one and three, it's not going to be good moving forward. It's a tough hole to dig out of, man. The good thing is that their division, even with the Seahawks being undefeated, their division is pretty weak, man. I think the Seahawks are just a little bit of luck, a little bit of favorable scheduling to start the season. I mean, the 49ers are 0 and 1 in their division already, though.
00:32:02
Speaker
I mean, yeah, you go to one and three with 0 and 1 in your division to start the season. That's not where you want to be. You don't want to be in that spot, because you really want to have home field for the playoffs, man. But we'll see what happens there, dude. But yeah, I do think they beat the Patriots pretty easily. Browns and Raiders in Vegas. I say flip a coin, dude. I do.
00:32:21
Speaker
Did you see any Antonio Pierce's post game rant after the game yesterday? Yeah, he really put it on the players, dude. You said people were making business decisions after the game. The vibes are bad. This is the bad vibes bowl right here, dude. The vibes around both these teams are just really, really off, man. I was never a fan of Pierce getting that job full time anyways, man. Just, I don't know. It just didn't seem a little bit like amateur hour, even with the little bit of success that they were having last season. But Cleveland's even worse, dude. I don't know, man.
00:32:51
Speaker
I think maybe that is negative as it seemed. I think maybe it lights enough of a spark that I think the Raiders find it in them and get over the Browns, man. I think, I think the Ravens, the Raiders get to win this week. Dude, I just, once you go off on the players, there's no fucking turning back dude, as a coach, like
00:33:08
Speaker
I just don't remember the last time that ever worked when a coach just completely shit all over his players in the post game press conference. I don't think Cleveland isn't a good place there. The crowd was Chan for Jamis yesterday. I mean, eventually they're going to have to make a quarterback change. If this continues, I think Cleveland just has a better team overall. I don't think they went by a lot, but I think they get the win. I'm going Cleveland. All right.
00:33:36
Speaker
AFC West battle another one we got the Chiefs and the Chargers in LA Chiefs are seven-point favorites on this one, man You know the Chargers are two-on-one coming in but Justin Herbert reading, you know He's coming into that game yesterday with a high ankle sprain re injured it so it sounds like x-rays came back negative But you wonder if maybe they just you know, they know it's the Chiefs I wonder if maybe they just take this week man and set him down dude and then and try to get back after it next week and
00:33:59
Speaker
I mean, dude, then being, let's be honest, then being two and two through four weeks with the schedule they've played, I wouldn't be like too concerned right now. But yeah, I, I don't think Herbert plays and I think Kansas City rolls them.
00:34:12
Speaker
Yeah, I kind of yeah, you gotta you just gotta think like what are our chances anyways with uh, you know I'm assuming he's from looking at him and said dude He's got it i'm thinking he's somewhere between like 50 and 60 of himself right now You know what I mean? So what I feel like maybe you just you lose the battle to potentially win the war on this one this week Yeah, I agree
00:34:31
Speaker
All right, bills and Ravens. This is going to be a good one, man. This is our Sunday night game. It's in Baltimore. I think we see the bills are probably coming in undefeated. I think we see Baltimore get back on track. That was a big win for them in Dallas yesterday, even though they tried to give that one away at the end. Um, I think the Ravens claw back to two and two and get a big win over Buffalo Sunday night.
00:34:50
Speaker
Isn't it amazing how much different the Ravens look when they actually use Derek Henry the proper way? Like, yeah, dude, through three yards rushing through three quarters. I'm like, God damn, this is how I expected this team to look offensively. And it's, I mean, Lamar threw the ball like 13 times yesterday. That's how you win. Like that's what this team should be doing. Jet sweeps is a flowers. Give the ball to King Henry up the middle. Let Lamar do his reads like, dude, this, well,
00:35:17
Speaker
I don't know whether they were overthinking it so much through two games. Like, dude, just run the fucking ball. Yeah, I'm going Ravens as well. All right. Monday night, we got another double header, uh, Titans and dolphins in Miami. This probably is the toilet bowl for the week. What do you think, man? Boyle's probably going to start for the dolphins. Dude, I still think I might rather have Tim Boyle than fucking will Lewis at this point.
00:35:47
Speaker
Levis is so bad. Tennessee has a better. They're a better team for sure.
00:35:55
Speaker
But I think Miami wins dude. I just think Tennessee is on a bad fucking, it's not good. After that week one loss that they should have won. And then the last two weeks. It's gotten worse each week. Yeah. They've gone, it's gone downhill each week, dude. Week one, you're like, okay, you know, we made a couple, couple, you know, a couple of really bad blunders, but overall we played pretty good. And week two, it was like, all right, we hung with them, but they just pulled away at the end. And then week three, we just got their doors blown off from the start. By Malik Willis of all people.
00:36:25
Speaker
I did. I think they find some of that magic that they found last year on Monday night football when they had that crazy comeback against the dolphins. I'm going to say that.
00:36:32
Speaker
You know, desperate times call for desperate measures and they find a way to fight and scratch and get to one and three. Bro, this is going to be a fucking, a weekly thing for you. The fucking Titans are going to end up Oh, it's 17. You're going to pick them like 10 weeks. If I pick them to win, they got to win eventually, man. So, but no, I think, I think they get it done, dude. I think the dolphins are somehow just as big of a mess as the Titans are right now. It's not good.
00:36:58
Speaker
All right. And last Monday night game, you know, it's going to be a fired up crowd. Remember Seattle came in last year on the, uh, the home opener for the lines and went in there and beat them. So they've

Lions vs. Seahawks: Prediction & Analysis

00:37:07
Speaker
had success in that building with Gino and the boys, the three and OC Hawks did, I think they get their first L hung on them. I don't think the lines are losing in prime time. I think the lines actually make this a statement when, and knock the Seahawks down a couple of pigs. Yeah, I'm going to go to Detroit as well. I just,
00:37:22
Speaker
I cannot imagine. I mean, the Seahawks are playing good football, but dude, Detroit, the Cardinals looked as bad as they've looked all season yesterday. Like the Lions held them down pretty well. Like their offense didn't move the ball at all. And that was by far the worst Tyler's learned. We'll look this season. So yeah, I'm going to Detroit. All right. That's it for next week's slate of games. Let's get to our million dollar bet.
00:37:53
Speaker
Yeah Let's cut that off pretty quick man. We're supposed to change that Jesus That might be the last time you guys hear the diddler Mona. No, did he on the goal line? Do you see that one five nights at Diddy's? Over under on bottles of lube 1,000 All right
00:38:17
Speaker
Well, how did we do last week? I can tell you it was a bloodbath. That was his week two, dude. I really blame Jordan for my lack of success so far, man. No, no, no. Don't be blaming Jordan. No, you got me on these fucking exotic ass bets, dude. You got me on doing the triple quadruple parlays with two different branches coming off of each game, dude.
00:38:38
Speaker
I'm going back to try to, I beat Jordan, who's basically a professional gambler last season by just, no, I'm just, I'm saying that as a compliment, dude, for how good you are at coming up with this stuff, how much thought you put into it, dude. I beat him last year just by keeping it slow and steady.
00:38:55
Speaker
and just making boring ass single game bets. And I'm going back to my roots, man. So again, last week to recap, I had the bucks, the Raiders and the Steelers and a parlay up in smoke quickly. Uh, I lost 25,000 on that. And then I had the Titans. I bet the Titans took not only win, but to cover the spread. Um, and, uh, and for that game to go under, uh, so smoked on that too. So that was another 25,000.
00:39:21
Speaker
Jordan's got one bet still in play with Buffalo tonight. We'll see what they do. And then he had some Jets action, a little Breece Hall action along with the Jets win. And that was an L for 20,000. So we'll see what happens on his bet tonight. I'm going, I got two games, man. My picks are both super boring this week. So I'll hit them back to back. I got the Bengals minus five and the Cardinals minus five. Both of those are identical. They're betting 25,000 to win 47,000.
00:39:52
Speaker
Um, so the first screenshot I said, Seth was actually incorrect. So I'm going to give him the correct one right here. Cause apparently I had a fourth team in one of these somehow. I don't know how, uh, first bet I'm making is, uh, three team parlay Cowboys minus four and a half Cardinals minus five and chiefs minus seven. I'm going to do 10,000 on that and it will pay $70,209 and 68 cents.
00:40:19
Speaker
Boo. And then the other one, I'm going to do Falcons minus one and a half. Oh my God. Browns minus one and Vikings plus two and a half for 10,000 and it will pay $72,177.92. Might as well just set that money on fire, dude. That imaginary money on imaginary fire. I'll be sure to take your advice when you start winning, Beths.
00:40:45
Speaker
All right. So our buddy, you know, our number one fan, James Modley, he just wrote in last. This is live, like literally perfect timing for him. Shout out to Shador. He just sent out a question for us. He says, are the Panthers just lucky or a new team with the Red Rock? I think we talked about that. We both kind of expect that to just be a little one week boost, right? Yeah. And then also something he wants to start doing, he's going to start giving us an upset alert every week for college football. His upset alert this week, he says UCF is going to beat Colorado.
00:41:14
Speaker
Yeah, I don't know if that's as much of a, I mean, let me look at what the spread is on that here, buddy. Like let's, let's see how much of an upset you don't think he's going out on a big one there. No, I don't think so. But let me, let me see if I can beat you to it. UCF's favored by 14. So how would that be an upset bozo? Well, they got UCS favored by 14. Are you sure about that? I'm 100% positive. I'm literally, Oh my God.
00:41:39
Speaker
Yeah, what is he talking about? And what's up with that spread? UCF by 14. Dude, Colorado is still not good. Like, I don't think UCF's that good, but holy shit. This dude wrote in an upset alert for somebody that's favored by 14. I can't wait to roast him, dude. I'm not even going to text him back. Well, I want to tell him just listen to the pod so he can hear himself getting clowned in real time, dude, on audio, man. Like, yeah, good, good upset there, bud.
00:42:07
Speaker
14 points man. That's nuts, dude I Mean dude, she'd or standard Charlie must say dude. He's throwing 1,300 yards 11 touchdowns two picks so far this year Hold Nebraska had him in the blender
00:42:23
Speaker
All right, that's it for this week. Golden. I appreciate you guys staying flexible with us on the scheduling, barring any unforeseen events. We should be back to our normal Monday night football recording next week. Jordan hit us with some closing thoughts and we'll get out of here. Yeah, man. Enjoy some Monday night football. Seth will probably release his before Monday night football even starts. So enjoy listening to the goal line and watching Monday night football. And we'll talk to you guys next week.
